Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Mataxis show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy p.m.investments.com. That's legacy p.m. Investments.com. Do you check your bucket list lately? Are you ready to take care of item number seven? Listening to the Eric Metaxe show? Well, welcome.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Tune in and then move on to item number eight, skydiving with Chuck Schumer and AOC. Here now is Mr. Completed My Bucket List at age 12, Eric Mattaxas. Hey there, folks. At this joyous time of year, we bring you loads of Christmas cheer. That's a quote from Bugs Bunny, one of my favorite characters. But I got to tell you, Christmas cheer, what does that even mean? It means a lot of things. One of the things it means to me, every year on this program, we get to participate in,
Starting point is 00:01:04 it's the very meaning of Christmas. It is so beautiful. I don't know what angle to hit it from. I will just start right at the middle. Jesus came to set the captives free. You've heard of that. CSI, Christian Solidarity International. We partner with them every year at this time in this Christmas season
Starting point is 00:01:25 to set literal captives free, to literally set them free. We're not talking about metaphorically, although, of course, that's a part of it. But in this case, it's literal. There are captives. In Sudan, we have talked about it on the program before. They are literally enslaved, not sort of enslaved, literally enslaved.
Starting point is 00:01:45 It's horrifying. But CSI has been at work for years and years working, figuring out how to free them. This is modern day abolition. This is wiping out slavery in a part of the world where it exists right now today. If you love Jesus, if you love other people, this is something you can do. at this time of year. And I often say to people, why do you do this in somebody's name? Say, hey, grandpa, in your name, you didn't need another sweater. In your name, we freed a slave. We freed a captive. $250 is the total price. If you can give that to free a person to set them up
Starting point is 00:02:23 in a life of freedom. I have CSI's Todd Chapman on with me right now. Todd, welcome back. Thanks, Eric. Always good to be here with you. Yeah, it's exciting to me that we, get to actually do this. And I want my audience to be excited that you get to live out your faith in a way that it's rarely so clear, so simple, so obvious that by giving a certain amount of money, you're contributing to actually free people from slavery. Give us the background. You said that it was it in the 90s that there was this war in Sudan? Yeah. So it actually started in 1983. And basically what happened was the Islamic, you know, reigning government, if you will, basically said to Sudanese Christians, you don't have a right to, you know, religious freedom anymore. You can't be a Christian. And then they partnered with Arab-backed militia and turned them loose to go on raiding parties. And anybody that they encountered who didn't convert to Islam, they were allowed to take them captive. And so what they did, these are a South Sudanese residence. Many of them Christians, and they said, I'm not converting.
Starting point is 00:03:36 They took them to North Sudan, and they became indentured slaves to primarily cattle ranchers up in that country. And they have remained there to this day, many of them. I mean, now tens of thousands have been set free, thanks to generous Christians, many of which Eric Metaxus listeners were so grateful for that. But there are still thousands and thousands of men, women, and now grown, but they were children when they were abducted who are still in slavery. They've had children in slavery.
Starting point is 00:04:03 So we've got now multi-generations of slaves, and we're working every year to set them free. What we do is we have slave retrievers is what we call them. They go and they negotiate with these cattle ranchers who have slaves. And we're able to exchange cattle vaccines that they need. They can't get them very easily. They can't afford to buy them. And we negotiate the slave's freedom. So there's no cash exchanging hands.
Starting point is 00:04:27 There's no chance that we're going to somehow encourage them to go take more slaves. That's actually outlawed now. They can't go take more slaves. We're just trying to free the ones that remain. And every year we have three or four slave liberations. We go up and retrieve as many as we can and we bring them back to South Sudan. There's a big party when we get them down. We celebrate their freedom.
Starting point is 00:04:46 And where we can, we get them reunited with their family. Many times they haven't seen their family, their parents, their extended family in decades. And we reunite them. If we can find them, we get them anchored in a church and a faith community. and they get skills training, whatever they need to get them on a path to a new life. It is, as you said, Eric, it's a picture of the gospel. This is the gospel. And I echo what you said.
Starting point is 00:05:11 This is something that every Christian needs to be involved with because it's so simple. It's not expensive. $250. I mean, so many of us are so blessed that $250 will not appreciably change our quality or standard of life at all, especially, you know, if you did that once a year. We can all afford to do that. maybe you can do much more than that. But man, just celebrate that God is bringing you again this opportunity to rescue a human
Starting point is 00:05:35 being from slavery. And we thank you for even considering it. It's, it's, it is an unbelievable thing. And I want to say, folks, $250 is the amount that does it, right? So that not just frees the slave from slavery, but even more. And this is the larger part of the $250, sets them up in a life of freedom. We've talked about on the program before. They get what CSI calls a bag of hope.
Starting point is 00:06:02 They get all this stuff that enables them to go into a life of freedom. It's not like you're just set out on the street. Like, okay, you're free now. Now you have to figure out how do I go forward? So they literally get a goat. They get seeds to plant. It's a whole system that CSI has worked out and everything, freeing the slave, this celebration that is put on once they're,
Starting point is 00:06:27 freed and then setting them up in a life of freedom is all for $250. So you thank God for a strong U.S. dollar, that $250 of your money can do all of this. It's not $2,500. It's $250. You can do this. And I say to people, get your kids involved. What are we doing for Christmas, Mommy? I'll tell you what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:06:49 There are human beings in the world that are enslaved. Oh, I thought slavery was abolished. Well, it was abolished in the West. but there are Muslims who believe, according to their religion, that they are able, allowed to enslave people, and they have done it. But we, because we're Christians, we have the ability to free these slaves. We believe in doing that. What do we get back?
Starting point is 00:07:13 We get back the joy of knowing we participate in what God is doing in the world today through people who actually believe in him and who live out their faith. Faith without works is dead. This is something we get to do. It's amazing to me, Todd, that CSI has made this possible because it's one thing we could say, oh, wouldn't it be great if, well, CSI has done this. Do you know how long CSI has been doing this? I mean, because to set this up for such a long, so that they can actually do this,
Starting point is 00:07:42 this is what's amazing to me. Yeah, we actually got involved in this work in 1995 where, you know, we were aware that this had happened and we began actually negotiating the legislation to be passed that this could no longer happen again. So CSI had a hand in negotiating that process and made ongoing slavery, enslavement of these Sudanese Christians illegal. And then we tried to get some legislation passed that would actually mandate that they be set free, failed at that. And so that's when we began, we just said, well, if, you know, if the governments aren't going to help us do this, we'll go out and do it. And we've come to Christians all around the world, especially here in the U.S.,
Starting point is 00:08:21 every year since, and you've so generously donated, tens of thousands of these slaves have been freed because of the compassion and the love of Christians. And there's many more. We've got to get another liberation coming up early this year. And so we're hoping and praying that during our year-end campaign, we do this every year here on your program. We're hoping and praying that we can see at least another 700 slaves liberated. We've done far more than that in the past.
Starting point is 00:08:47 And so who knows what God will do. But he does it through you. So thank you for giving generous. thank you for praying about what God would have you do. We're so grateful for you. And I want to say, folks, you should be so excited. You get to do this. This is not an idea. This is like, I got an idea. I wonder if, no, you actually get to do this. CSI has done the work by the grace of the Lord. They have done all this work. They've set this up. They have the people already in the process of this. All they need is our money so they can do it. So they can buy the things to set these
Starting point is 00:09:20 slaves up now in a life of freedom and so on and so forth. So if you can't give $250, what can you give? $50, $100. Whatever you can give goes to freeing actual slaves. I want to give you the phone number. By the way, you know where to go. Metaxistocotococon.com. Metaxistalksotocon.com is the website. You'll see the banner right there, metaxistalk.com. Starting point is 00:10:02 Please be generous. God bless you as you give. This is an exciting thing you could do at this time of year to make your faith real, to make Christmas come to life. Do it. God bless you. Folks, right now in other parts of the world,
Starting point is 00:10:14 people's lives are being threatened simply for believing in Jesus. people have been enslaved for their faith. So listeners to this show know that I'm passionate about the work of Christian Solidarity International because they protect and free those who are being persecuted and enslaved for their Christian faith. I've got to thank you for your life-changing generosity for years now. If you've given a CSI through this program, you have played a role in freeing literally thousands of captives. So as we near the end of this year, can I ask you to give once again your gift of just $250 will free a woman in Sudan who has been enslaved for years.

Starting point is 00:12:12 Hey, folks, welcome back. Immigration. If you didn't know that we have an immigration problem, in this country, you're probably deceased. The fact of the matter is you cannot exaggerate how sick, how evil the immigration problem has become. It is unbelievable. And so we wanted to get an expert on, and boy, did we get an expert. We have, as my guest in this hour, Tom Holman, who was the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Trump administration.
Starting point is 00:13:02 currently visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation. Thrill to have him, Tom Holman, welcome. Thanks for having me. Where do we begin? I mean, I have to ignore what I hear on the immigration stuff because it gets me so angry because it is so sick at what is happening. What is your sense of what is possible? Trump, President Trump, has said that if he is reelected and by God's grace, he will be, he would deal with this by deporting a lot of people. He seems to understand the severity of it in very, very stark, starkest contrast to the current pseudo administration, whom I won't even mention on the air today because it sickens me. So what is your sense of what is possible and of the situation right now?
Starting point is 00:13:55 Well, you know, you say you're angry. I'll tell you right now, it wakes up every day, pissed off of what happens. because we handed under the Trump administration, we had illegal immigration, illegal immigration was down to a 45-year-of-all. Illegal migration was decreased by 83 to 90% depending on what time frame you're looking at. Then this administration came in
Starting point is 00:14:16 and intentionally unsecure the border. So I wake up every day, upset of what they've done. And I talk to the president all the time. Maptack, I talked to the president about 20 minutes ago, President Trump, and we're talking about this. So what can we do? When Trump gets back in office, I'm certainly going to go back. And one of the things the president talked about is having a large deportation operation.
Starting point is 00:14:41 I actually did an interview a couple days ago, and of course, it was a hit piece. But, you know, I'm saying, well, how cruel is that? How inhumane is that? You know, that's a threatening. You guys from build concentration camps. You know, the left just goes crazy. Bottom line is, an historic illegal immigration crisis on the southern border where millions of people are coming across. based on immigration court data over the last 10 years, like I said, nearly nine out of ten people will claim asylum at the southern border
Starting point is 00:15:07 will receive an order removal because they'll lose your case if they even show up in court and because they simply don't qualify under other asylum rules. So nine out of ten, I get order removal. So what I'm telling people, they say, well, you know, this threat of a historic deportation operation, that's where look. that's what the law requires. If we give these people due process a great taxpayer expense, they demand to see a judge. Okay, they can see a judge. But at the end of that due process, if the judge says, no, you must be deported from the United States.
Starting point is 00:15:43 If that order isn't carried out, then what's the sense? Well, listen, I mean, let's get to the bottom of this. Let's get to the bottom of this. This seems clear. Most Americans, whether they support Trump or whether they think they're, they think they're Republicans are. Most Americans know that what is happening is that people are scamming our justice system. Judges are not judges and politicians are not enforcing our laws. So this breakdown is on our side. I cannot blame poor people from other countries to want to come to America. People all
Starting point is 00:16:18 over the world want to come to America. You cannot blame these people, but you can blame American politicians who look the other way while people are swarming across our border. It's incredibly bizarre. And I guess to me, it is just profoundly cynical, profoundly cynical and sick. I can't help looking at the situation. And most Americans, I think, know this.
Starting point is 00:16:44 They know that the Democratic Party is doing this on purpose. Is there any other way to see it, I guess, is my question. No, you're exactly right. I've said from day one, by design. This isn't incompetence. This isn't mismanagement. This is by design. Joe Biden ran on open boards, right? He says you can do a moratorium on deportations. He's going to award amnesty and DACA. He's going to shut down ICE detention. He's going to give illegal aliens free health care. When you make those types of promises the entire world, they're going to come. And the problem is,
Starting point is 00:17:19 the most vulnerable people in the world, they're going to take their chance to come to United States because they know they're going to be turn themselves over the board of jail, be released within 24 hours, given a plane ticket to the city of their choice at taxpayer expense, be given work authorization while their case pens for the next three, four, five years. Of course they're going to come. But here's a problem. I don't care what anybody's opinion is on illegal immigration.
Starting point is 00:17:46 But when you cause a crisis this big, that overwhelms the border patrol, where today, 70 to 90% of agents are off patrol. They're changing diapers, making baby porn, making hospital runs, doing the processing. When you take 70, 90% of agents off the line, that's when the fentanyl comes across that killed 112,000 thousands of Americans.
Starting point is 00:18:06 That's when a no-inspected terrorist can cross. That's when the sex trafficking on women and children are in a historic level. Creating these gaps in our system on the southern border is what's driving the overdose deaths, the known suspected terrorists are coming across, the sex trafficking of women and children, the fentanyl, the Mexican cocaine. This is a downside of an open board, not just a massive illegal immigration. Overwhelming Borbacheau causes a significant national security threat, and I've said this for two years.
Starting point is 00:18:41 What's happening on a southern border right now is the biggest national security failure since 9-11, because the border patrols the rest of people from 171 different countries. Some of these countries are sponsors of terror. Last year alone, they arrested over 300 people on terrorist Washington, the southern border. We got 1.7 million known gottaways. If you don't think a single one of that 1.7 million godaways didn't come from a country sponsored terror, then you're an idiot.
Starting point is 00:19:08 This is the biggest national security ferry this country. Okay, but again, so the conclusion, I mean, this is the reason that I believe by God's grace, Trump will win the next election. I think your average American looks at this and says, there is something, I can't think of a better word. There is something evil at play. This is not difference of opinion. There is something evil at play. What is going to happen as a result of these people coming in? Some of these people we know are evil actors. They're going to murder Americans. Some of them are, you know, pro-Hamas people who would love to murder as many Jews as they can murder. That is who Joe Biden and his administration are letting into this country. There's going to
Starting point is 00:19:57 be blood on his hands, there's already blood on his hands, allowing the fentanyl to come in, allowing vicious gangs. I mean, there is no way for me to comprehend that this is anything other than evil and an intentional subversion of the United States of America, of our laws. And I think that, you know, in our lifetimes, we just never dreamt that a U.S. President would allow anything like this to happen. When I think back to Jimmy Carter, we say, oh, he was weak, he did this, he did that. Jimmy Carter is a saint. He's Ronald Reagan compared to Joe Biden. We've simply never seen anything like this. And you're going to need somebody. like Donald Trump to deal with it because it is just wicked.
Starting point is 00:20:43 I got to ask you specifically about Mexico. Didn't we have a policy under Trump where Mexico would hold these people? Now we just have them flunning across the border. Did Biden end that as soon as he got into office? You're exactly right. That was called the Remain the Mexico program or the Migrant Protection Protocol, is what the official name of that. Well, yeah, people want to claim asylum.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Under Trump administration, it's okay, you can claim asylum. But rather than catch you and release you, and you never show up a court, or can't you release you, show up in court, and get order to remove, you don't leave, you become a fugitive. Trump, Trump, you know, he was out of the box since you. He said, okay, well, you're going to wait in Mexico for your hearing.
Starting point is 00:21:22 That way, if you lose you case, which is nine out of ten well, we don't have to hunt you down and find you and remove you. You're not here. So it was a game changer. And when we put the Remain in Mexico program in play, it took about 60, 60 to 70 days. And once people realized, okay, I'm not going to be caught. and released into the United States, I got away to Mexico.
Starting point is 00:21:42 They stopped coming. They stopped coming because they knew if they're really escaping fear. First of the first I've got to say this, political, when you claim asylum, what does that mean? The legal definition is that you're escaping fear and persecution from your home government because you're race, religion, and political affiliation. So if they're really escaping fear and persecution and death, they're going to wait in Mexico because they're escaping fear and persecution, supposedly. But when they realized they weren't going to be released into United States to never show up in court, they stopped coming.
Starting point is 00:22:15 It was a game turn. The illegal immigration went to all-time, but that's it's a 45-year-old. Well, and it obviously caused the bluff, right? And the idea that people are coming from Central America and South America all the way up, and Mexico's not good enough. They've got to come to the United States. You think, well, why would that be if you're being persecuted? And so it calls their bluff. we'll be right back, folks.
Starting point is 00:22:40 I've got the privilege of speaking with Tom Homan, former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Trump administration. Don't go away. Tell me why Relief Factor is so successful at lowering or eliminating pain. I'm often asked that question just the other night. I was asked that question. Well, the owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal. That's right, designed to heal.
Starting point is 00:23:25 and I agree with them. And the doctors who formulated relief factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients, and each one of them helps your body deal with inflammation. Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway. That's the point. So approaching from four different angles may be why so many people find such wonderful relief. If you've got back pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or foot pain from exercise or just getting older, you should order the three, week quick start discounted to only 1995 to see if it'll work for you. It has worked for about 70% of the half a million people who've tried it and have ordered more on one of them. Go to

Welcome back talking to Tom Holman, former acting director of U.S.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Immigration Customs Enforcement in the Trump administration. Two things, Tom. I guess, or three things. First of all, if Trump is reelected, you're obviously in touch with him. You would be back on the job overseeing this. Is that the idea? What I promised President Trump, if he comes back, I come back.
Starting point is 00:25:45 And, yeah, I mean, if we're going to do a nationwide deportation operation, I'm the guy. I've done it. And when I was third and commanded ICE, called the Executive Associate Director for Enforcement Remover Operations. I was in charge of ICE in that position for three years. I always saw 1.2 million deportations. When Washington posted a story on me, they thought it was a hit piece.
Starting point is 00:26:10 And the first line of the story was Tom Homan deports people, and he's really good at it. And that was a hit piece. I'll tell you what. It's in a frame on my wall right over there. Well, look, I want to tell you, and this goes for President Trump, whom I love, okay? You have to stop giving any interviews. I mean, they're going to do a hit piece
Starting point is 00:26:32 whether you give an interview or not, but the point is that the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Atlantic, all of these former journalistic institutions need to be shunned because they are not interested in the truth. And I think that unless you do that kind of thing, there will be an outroar, I mean, an uproar and an outrage over it. But let's be honest, they don't begin to care about the truth or begin to care about it. They have an agenda. They have a narrative.
Starting point is 00:27:07 So the New York Times, to my mind, is dead. Once in a blue moon, they'll publish something that is true because they can't help it. I think, you know, they don't do sports anymore, but their sports used to be accurate. But the New York Times, the Washington Post, they are in bed with the hard left in America, and they don't actually care about average Americans, about middle America. They don't care about fentanyl deaths. They don't care about child rape on the border and sex trafficking. They clearly don't care about any of this stuff. And so I think that I would ask you and President Trump and others to cease taking them seriously, because they are, they have become, they've just ceased to do journalism. I mean, they were always left.
Starting point is 00:27:53 leaning. I live in New York City, but they have absolutely ceased to care about telling the truth. And I think you have to let them know you're not going to play with them anymore. Well, absolutely, but most of these stories aren't based on the interview. They just write a story based on, you know, source that they have and so forth. But, you know, what I like is every day when I see a hip piece either on Trump or myself or somebody towards this administration, I take pleasure in knowing that I get to live in their minds right free because I have no idea
Starting point is 00:28:27 I talk about you're right there is no journalism integrity anymore yeah I mean I'm very picky in who I interview you your patriot and and I tell you my staff did a 4-1-1 on you and find out who's this guy is he truth force you have some journalists of integrity you do so there's a lot of people
Starting point is 00:28:44 I refuse to talk to yeah because I know it's well listen there I travel a lot and I go through airports and I see the New York Times and even the Wall Street Journal, which it has become, I don't even read that anymore because I'm disgusting. But the fact that they're business people traveling around the country is, I'm going to read the New York Times, I'm going to watch CNN. I think to myself, you've got to be kidding. You're reading The Washington Post, the Dallas Morning News.
Starting point is 00:29:11 All of these places have ceased to be actual journalistic institutions. They are pushing out. I mean, you might as well read what Joseph Goebbels says and say, well, there's probably enough truth. And let's see what Joseph Gebbels has to say. It's gotten that bad in America. So I say to my listeners out there, you've got to be kidding. If you're reading the New York Times, if you're reading the Washington Post, these places, they're no longer interested in the truth. And many, many people are drinking the Kool-Aid, buying the propaganda.
Starting point is 00:29:46 And I want to flip real quick to Governor Greg Abbott. I never thought of him as much of a hero or a patriot. He's a Republican. He recently, recently, obviously, you know, said, we are going to stop people from coming into Texas. And I think to myself, wow, if you could do it now, why didn't you do it over two years ago? I am so disgusted with Governor Abbott of Texas of his fecklessness.
Starting point is 00:30:15 this. I know that Tucker Carlson had confronted him over this a long time ago, and he said, oh, it's complicated, it's complicated. But somehow now he got it done. What do you make of somebody like the governor of Texas, who's a Republican, being unable until now of taking any action on this? Well, I'll disagree with you on part because, you know, I think Governor Abbott's done a lot. He could have done more because we're talking about the whole, you know, qualified this as an actual invasion, and they can actually arrest and enforce immigration law. I was a part of that. I went out there with attorneys from Immigration Informal Institute, and we brought some people out there,
Starting point is 00:30:59 including Ken Cuccinelli, who used to be the deputy secretary under Trump, DHS secretary. We brought some constitutional scholars out there to say, look, you can declare an invasion in enforce certain action. aspects of immigration law. Then there's other constitutional scholars saying you can't do it. So the people I work with immigration reform law to do, they went out and they briefed the Attorney General's office on what their thoughts were. However, put that aside for a second, I agree with you, I wish it would have been done earlier, of course. But what I say when I go around the country is what does government have, what has he done? Well, deploying the National Guard in Texas DPS, that's done some good things, right? Because every pound of fentanyl all
Starting point is 00:31:39 they seeds, it's less over those deaths. Every person they arrest for trespassing, at least they get arrested and get bedded. They get fingerprinted, so we know they're not terrorists or convicted criminal. So his work of the DPS and National Guard are commendable.

Starting point is 00:34:07 use code Eric. Folks, I have the privilege of continuing my conversation with a real patriot, Tom Holman. He was the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Trump administration. First of all, I'm glad to hear you help me mitigate my ire against Governor Abbott of Texas. I just think we have a lot of folks in the Republican Party who do not have the fire that President Trump does, that somebody like Kerry Lake does, who really understand we are living in a war on America. We have internal external forces waging war against us,
Starting point is 00:34:56 and a lot of people seemingly unable to get that and acting as though, well, we've got years to deal with this, and the fact of the matter is we simply don't. So what is your sense of the future if Trump were to get back in, which, as I say, if he doesn't, I think it's game over for the United States of America. But what would he do? And if there's anybody, I think, that at this point understands you ignore what the liberal press says. They're going to accuse you of everything. They don't say one word about the evil being done by the current administration. What is your sense of what is possible going forward?
Starting point is 00:35:39 Well, first of all, let me agree with you on there's a lot of Republicans. I'm extremely, disappointed and they're not stepping up. For instance, Marjorie Taylor-Grain introduced articles impeachment in myorkans. I've been called for an impeachment for two years. A lot of Republicans ran on that issue during their midterms. Where are they now? I mean, when she introduced an article's eight Republican congressmen voted against it. So you're exactly right. They're not stepping up and doing their job. So they upset me every day when the Republicans don't stick together and fight to secure the border. The second thing I would say is when When President Trump gets reelected, which you will, and you're right, if he doesn't, and they get another four years, we're done.
Starting point is 00:36:20 There's going to be too much damage. I don't think anybody can fix it at that point. So this is vital. So when President Trump gets back in office, the good thing that we can do is simply dust off the operational plans that we instituted under the Trump administration that work. We're proven to work. And anybody doubts it, go to CBP.gov. www.cb.cb.com. That's the Customs Board Protection website.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Look at the data for yourself. It would have been with a grace and 45-year-old. It worked. So we got to finish what we started, right? We got to finish the wall. We're going to put the remaining Mexico program back in. We're going to put the third safe country agreements in, which is a game changer. Also, third safe country agreements was, if you're really escaping unfair and persecution from like El Salvador, and you get to Mexico,
Starting point is 00:37:03 have you not escaped your government's persecution? So you should be claiming to sign them in Mexico. President Trump forced those countries to sign into that agreement. He forced Mexico to remain in Mexico. He said, look, I want military and the southern northern border. You're going to participate in remaining Mexico. You're going to participate in the 37 country agreements. They said no.
Starting point is 00:37:22 He said, you either do it, well, I'll tear off the hell out of you, and they did it. President Trump didn't take no for an answer. He did everything he could to secure our southern border because he realized this is a national security threat. So Joe Biden hasn't abandoned anything to Mexico. Joe Biden hasn't demanded anything from China. the fentanyl crisis, you know, taking action of Mexican criminal cartels. So President Trump will re-institute the policies that were proven effective and let us finish the work that we started.
Starting point is 00:37:52 And what is your sense? I mean, there are many people with whom I strongly disagree, like Ann Coulter, who say that Trump didn't build the wall. He said he'd build the wall. He didn't build the wall. He didn't. I really don't know how it's possible for people. to have expected him to do more than he did, given what he was dealing with.
Starting point is 00:38:16 We now know he had people in his administration and throughout the deep state bureaucracy, working against him, you know, slow walking stuff, not doing what he asked them to do. And sometimes, as I said, out and out working against what he was trying to accomplish, much less, or not to mention Republicans who were not having. helping him to do what he wanted to do. But so what do you make of folks like Ann Coulter who make it sound as though Trump simply didn't do what he said he was going to do with regard to building the wall? Well, Ann Coulter simply wrong.
Starting point is 00:38:57 We built 465 miles of wall. The Trump goal for this first term with 400. We beat by 65. 465 miles of wall. And on footstop, what we just said, because you were exactly right. He did that. He accomplished that with no help from him. the people on the hill, right?
Starting point is 00:39:13 He had to put a bunch of executive orders in play. He was being sued by the environmental groups. He was being sued by private ranch owners. Besides all of that pushback on him, $465 a wall. Now, she's taking a page out of Desantis' playbook says, what it's all, it's not all a new wall, some of it's replaced the wall. Of course it was.
Starting point is 00:39:35 What President Trump did, he talked to the border control, where do you need the wall first? Where do you need the wall second? And what Border Patrol said, look, you got a dilapidated fencing over here. This is our biggest crossing area right here. So, yeah, you take down the dilapidated fence and you put a new wall up. That's where the board show said the number of people were coming. The walls were built based on the migration pattern.
Starting point is 00:39:56 So President Trump did exactly what the Borchtoe asked him to. 465 miles a new wall was built. Yeah, some would replace dilapidated fencing, but that was a mission critical thing to do. So, Ann Culture is wrong. Governor Rhonda Sanchez is wrong. Chris Christie's wrong. And I've been on stage several times saying they're wrong. 465 miles of all.
Starting point is 00:40:16 I was there. I've seen it. I was involved in it. So they're wrong. I don't know why they keep attacking President Trump on that issue because what he did was unprecedented. You know, you got people that Governor Stances said he could have done it more. Oh, really? What more could have done considering Congress wasn't helping them or being sued every other week.
Starting point is 00:40:35 There's a limit on money. So he actually took money from DOD. and put it on the wall. Trump did unprecedented work, and anybody says it didn't do enough, they just don't understand the facts. And I'm wish they would have covered the facts for a change rather than just their personal opinions.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Or they have a simple personal animus against President Trump. I can't make any sense of it, frankly. I'm always fascinated when otherwise smart people insist on something that just ain't so. I try to understand what they're saying, but in the cases of the folks you've mentioned, I don't understand what they're saying. And let me just add one more thing.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Lately they've been saying Trump broke his promise that Mexico will pay for the wall. Really? Because maybe they didn't pay money directly to the wall, but here's what President Trump did do. Because of the remaining Mexico program, because of the third state country agreements, because Mexico put military in the southern and northern border, the only immigration dropped 83 to 90 percent, which saved billions, countless billions of dollars on enforcement, detention, transportation, court costs, removal costs, medical care. I'm going on and on and on.
Starting point is 00:41:43 He saved more billions of dollars than it would have took to build that wall. So maybe there's no doubt. There's no doubt about that. Tom Holman, we're at a time. Listen, it's a joy and a privilege to have you on. If you ever get to New York City, love to have you in studio and shake your hand. Tom Holman, thank you. And God bless you.
Starting point is 00:42:04 I get to New York all the time. You send me an address and I'll be there. We'll do it. Folks, as you know, every year at this time, we reach out to you to raise funds to free slaves, actual people who are enslaved in Africa. This is a real thing. And the best news is we can do something about it. I cannot think of a greater Christmas gift than to tell somebody in your name, I freed. a slave. My guest right now to talk about that is our friend Kevin McCullough, who's had a lot of
Starting point is 00:42:45 experience with CSI. Kevin, tell my listeners about this. Well, you know, just to put it into some perspective that might be drawn from current events, the slaves that we're talking about in Sudan were taken as hostages from naked invasions that nobody saw coming and most everyone were taken by surprise. And that sounds very similar to what happened when Hamas invaded Israel not long ago. And it was a similar thought. There were Arab Islamic jihadis that came from northern Sudan in that region during their civil war, raided towns, raped women, took children away from their families, took them as hostages, took them back to the north where they lived, were unmercifully cruel to them, repeatedly sexually assaulted them, had them do some of the
Starting point is 00:43:42 things that they did to the Israeli women. They cut out their genitals. They did other things to these children and to these women that were just heinous and obscene. And as the war was going on between the north and the south in Sudan, when it was one country, the world didn't get too involved. They didn't get their hands too messy with any of that. But when they came to the conclusion that, that war was going to be, it was going to last forever if we didn't step in. They created two different countries, Sudan and South Sudan, and they gave the Christians their liberty in South Sudan and said, you are free. In northern Sudan, you get to be the Arab sinkhole that you are. And what they've done in the meantime is ignored. At the time, nearly 185,000
Starting point is 00:44:29 spoils of war by way of human slaves that had been taken. So if you see, saw that footage of those girls being taken hostage by Hamas, these are the people that had the same ideology, the same mentality in their mind when they took these young ladies from South Sudan. Now, that was at the end of the Civil War in Sudan. What has happened since then is that Christian Solidarity International, working with specifically the Christian community here in America, we have seen the liberation of more than 135,000 of those original 185,000 slaves. And we are starting, this is exciting, Eric, for the first time to start also be able to retrieve
Starting point is 00:45:10 some of their children that they had while in slavery and in captivity and get them released and freed as well. But it's a very simple process. You give a gift, it's $250. That $250 basically covers what they need to live their life going forward. So once the slave is liberated, they go to the border of South Sudan, where a CSI kind of camp is at where they can receive medical care, psychological counseling, any types of nutritional boosting and stuff that they need. They get intensive recovery time in this camp. Then when they are able to
Starting point is 00:45:45 travel, they are given what's called the bag of hope. The Ag of Hope includes everything they need to start their life over again. And that's the bulk of what your gift is for $250. In that bag, you get food for a year. And it doesn't all fit in the bag, by the way. You get food for a year. You get seed for another year. You get tarps and utensils and things that you need to help make a life for yourself. And kind of the last thing they give you before you shove off to go back to your home area is they bring out a little kid goat on a rope and you get to take a little kid goat with you that's going to grow up and give you milk and cheese. It will provide more goats that you can sell as a micro enterprise business for yourself. And we've now seen that happen in more than
Starting point is 00:46:26 125,000 cases of those slaves being released, and due to, in large measure, the Eric Metaxus audience in recent years, even thousands more. Folks, I don't know how you wouldn't want to do something about this. This is just a heavenly, heavenly opportunity. Metaxistock.com is our radio website at the top of the page. You'll see the banner. Whatever you give. Do it now, folks.
Starting point is 00:46:52 We'd appreciate that. Metaxistalk.com. Kevin McCullough, thank you. Thank you, Eric.
