Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to listen to a man of grace, sophistication, integrity, and whimsy?
Well, so are we.
But until such a man shows up, please welcome Eric Mat, Texas.
Hey there, folks.
I'm excited to get Todd Chapman back on the program.
He's with Christian Solidarity International.
As you know, we're doing a campaign this month, as we do every year at this time to free people.
from slavery, literally. Now, I know we probably have atheist, Marxists that really don't care about slavery.
And you're listening to this program, we don't expect you to reach into your pocket.
If you don't think that people are made in the image of God and shouldn't be enslaved, we don't expect you to give.
But if you're some kind of Christian, obviously you do care about this. And obviously, if we give you an opportunity to help people get out of slavery, literally,
we know you're interested, which is why CSI comes to us every year and says,
Eric, talk to your audience.
These are wonderful human beings.
They actually care about this.
There are very few pro-slavery people who listen to the program.
So if you're a pro-slavery person, hey, we're not judging you for being evil.
God is judging you, but we're not judging you.
But if you're not a pro-slavery person, I know you're interested.
Todd Chapman, welcome back.
Thanks, Eric.
Great to be here.
And thank you.
If you've participated already in this year's campaign to free slaves, we just had a tremendous last couple of days.
Yesterday alone, nearly 50 slaves freed by Eric Metaxus listeners.
So that's great.
We're gaining speed, but we still have a lot of slaves that we're hoping that your listeners can free.
And so we invite everyone to be as generous as you can.
$250 gift frees one slave provides them a new start in life in South Sudan.
And hopefully the opportunity for us to reunite them with their family, who they have.
haven't seen in decades many times.
And yeah, it's a beautiful opportunity to literally save and transform someone's life through
CSI.
Well, I want to be clear with my audience.
As of today, we have had 65 gifts.
Now, I know that a lot of people listen to this program.
So we've only had 65 gifts thus far.
So yesterday we had a bump.
But our goal, it's a modest goal, is to free $6,000.
76 slaves.
$250 is the price to free one slave and to set them up in a life of freedom.
You could give $25 a month.
That's more than $250 a year.
So if you want to do it that way, the website is metaxis talk.com.
We've saved or freed 120 slaves thus far.
goal is 676. So in fact, we're not doing that well in this campaign. And so we need you to step up if you're, again, unless you're pro-slavery. If you're a Marxist atheist that doesn't believe in the dignity of human beings, you get a pass. But if you're not a Marxist atheist who actually is not pro-slavery, we're talking to you. The website is metaxis talk.com.
Metaxistalk.com. You can see there's a banner there. When you click on it, it'll take you through
whatever you want to give, however you want to give. And I always say, it doesn't matter what you give
as long as you participate. But this is an amazing opportunity. It's amazing opportunity.
I'll give you a phone number in a minute to do this in someone's name as a Christmas gift.
There are people who really, you know, they don't need another whatever. So if you say to them
on Christmas morning and when you see them, we did this in your name.
and you can show them the piece of paper that says,
we freed a slave in your name.
What a way to share your faith to say,
this is real.
We care about this.
So this is, Todd, it's an amazing thing.
How many years have you been working with Christian Solidarity International?
Because you've got a close up view.
Yeah, I've been working with them for about four years now.
And honestly, before I started working with CSI,
I didn't even know about the slavery issue in South Sudan, even though it's been going on for decades now.
And I think a lot of people find themselves, yeah, I think a lot of people find themselves in a situation, never heard about this,
didn't know that, you know, over 100,000 people were taken into slavery back in the 90s and have lived that way ever since,
much less that there's a Christian organization that is working every day to free them and is being very successful.
I mean, since 1995, thanks to generous listeners like yours, we've been able to free over 100,000 people,
and we're estimating there's probably still another 30 or 40,000 still enslaved,
and so we're going to keep doing this.
And with your generosity, we're able to free more and more slaves every year.
But, you know, Eric, it's easy to get lost in numbers.
I like to talk about the stories of individuals, because I think that's really what we need to focus on.
You can give a gift and free a human being right now in the name of Jesus.
And if you're personal pain.
I mean, folks, are you listening to this, how amazing this is, that you are able to participate with us?
I say this all the time, like that there's this satanic evil, human beings enslaved.
Like it's unbelievable.
And then you think, oh, oh, I could do something about it.
I mean, it's, I just see this as an amazing opportunity.
And that's why I push it so hard.
Folks, this is a beautiful thing you get to do.
This is unadulterated, wonderful goodness that you get to free somebody.
And think about what we're asking.
We're not saying it's $2,000.
We're saying it's $250 to free a slave.
That's like a dinner for two here in New York.
It's crazy.
And you can free a slave forever.
This is not you buy their freedom for a month.
This is forever to free someone and to set them up in a life of freedom.
The website is metaxis talk.com.
again, metaxis talk.com.
And the phone number, some people prefer to call.
I will give the phone number 888-253-3522.
888-253-3522.
888-253-3522.
I can't imagine people don't want to do this.
I cannot imagine that people wouldn't say,
we can do this.
Our family will do maybe we'll just do $250 through the year.
So we'll give $25 a month.
Folks, this is an amazing, beautiful thing.
You can get your kids involved and explain to your children, hey, we're Christians.
We believe every human being is made in the image of God and is sacred to God.
And we have to do what we can.
Historically, it has been Christians that led the abolitionist movement in the 18th century under the leadership of my hero, William Wilberforce.
In the 19th century, it has been Christian.
that led the battle for abolition.
Why? Because Christians are different.
They believe that every single human being is made in God's image.
They don't have an evolutionist Darwinian view that says some people are worth less than others.
And we believe in the free market.
We don't believe in what the Bible says.
No, this is, it's an amazing opportunity in our own day to participate in an abolitionist
movement and to free slaves because we believe that the God,
made us, made them. And so the website is metaxis talk.com. You'll see the banner there. And I say
this again, folks, you know, you can some of you, maybe can't give $250, you can give something.
Some of you can give multiples of that. Some of you can give $1,000 to free for human beings and
set them up in a life of freedom. And I say anybody out there that can give $15,000, this is tax
deductible, I will have dinner with you, we'll figure it out in your town or our town or whatever.
We do this every year somebody steps up and it's my privilege to take my valuable time.
It's become insanely valuable, but it's my privilege to take my time and to spend it with people
because you care and you've expressed your caring in this way.
We've just got a minute left, Todd. Talk a little bit just for 40.
seconds about how we set them up in a life of freedom once they are free. Yeah, so four or five times a
year, we have negotiated the freedom of these slaves and we marched them en masse, you know,
two, three hundred at a time into South Sudan where we have a camp where we gather them together.
We document their story. A lot of times some of these people don't even know what their
original name is, much less who their parents were, where they're from. We try to reunite them
with their family if we can. And then we set them up with grains and a she goat and
supplies to start a new life because they've got to have something to go to.
We can't just get them out and say, okay, you're on your own. We don't do that.
We try to get them back with their family, with their community. And if we can't, we've got
communities who have all been freed and they form their own communities. It's a new start in
life. Many of them now, women bringing children with them into freedom. That's a new thing we've
been able to do in the last couple of years. So we can't do it without you. So thanks for giving.

Uncle Mugsy and the Terrible Tins of Christmas
I've talked about it and talked about it
Now you're going to hear it
I think I did read Yankee Doodle Mugsy around July 4th
But this is the one that started at all
This is the Scrooge character
This is the guy
The Bachelor Bulldog Plutocrat
WC Fields
rumpy character who has the little kids come into his life and turn them upside down.
It's written in verse, so you've got to listen carefully.
If you've got the book, you've got to turn the pages.
Save this so you can, you know, play it at another time when you have kids around with the book.
I'm so excited.
Mugsy and the terrible twins of Christmas by Eric Mattaxas and Tim Raglan.
Mugsy was a happy bachelor.
Never married in his life.
Always did J.
just what he wanted, had no children, had no wife.
And neither did he have to work, nor had he very many cares.
I catered to his every need.
That's me, you see, upon the stairs.
And now I'll ask you to relax, as this are happy story weaves.
If you're in need of anything, please call for me.
My name is Peas.
Oh, wifeless, childless, Uncle Mugsy,
Singleness and freedom yours
Children never more you're quiet
No wife is wakened by your snores
And you never have to go outdoors
Oh how you love your life
Dear Mugsy
How you've clung to bachelorhood
Ever doing as you wanted
Never doing as you should
And wouldn't change it if you could
And how he loves to dress his best
For a romantic tete-a-tete
with the woman whom I call Miss Dogmont
and whom he knows as Marguerette.
But lo, the day before Christmas Eve,
a missive came by courier.
It spoke of children soon arriving.
His sister's twins won him, one her.
From out his lips there crept a gur.
Gadzooks, said he, a further shock.
Their train is due at one o'clock,
which left no time to finish breakfast or to inquire about his stocks,
and as he dressed himself that day, it left no time to match his socks.
And there they waited he and she, identically uninvited.
Their Merry Christmas, Uncle dear, went entirely unrequited.
Hear this, he said, my tiny guests, there'll be no celebration.
Christmas is just another day for my rest and rest.
Relaxation.
Ancient traveling bag held by a single piece of tape
unleashed a sudden flood of marbles from which no Noah could escape.
And down we went, both he and I, tearing our respective pants.
As did the town council and the mayor and the ambassador of France.
We learned that the terrible price of the marble spill had been expressed to the last penny.
in three lawsuits and won doctor's bill.
Thus, peaves, he said, does fate repay us?
My singular order is become twinned chaos.
Always knowing just what to do, he took the children to the zoo.
And there, from his great wealth of learning,
he brought out bits of animal lore,
excluding neither fish nor fowl,
nor the luncheon habits of the three tusked boar.
But while he told them of the tiger's stripes, the children unnoticed went chasing about, spreading good tidings of Christmas cheer by letting the animals out.
The dinner that night began quite well.
How Mugsy loved my roasted duck, as did Miss Dogmont and Little Emily and her brother, whose name was Habercuk.
But the harmony was not to last.
It was Mugsy himself who was to blame, for it was he that night who said it.
My goodness, Habakkuk, what a funny name.
When the children were sent to bed, Mugsy could at last relax,
with the lovely Miss Dogmont at his side and a warming fire at their backs.
Margaret, my dear, he started to say,
I treasure these moments with you.
Then a bump and a crash from the West Wing was hurried.
and he knew that their romance was through.
And so to the library quickly they ran,
and oh, what a scene that they found,
the Julius Caesar was wearing a hat,
and the Hermes was knocked to the ground.
And the children were perched on a mountain of books
atop Mugsy's favorite old chair,
and he saw they were using his cherry wood pipes
to blow bubbles of soap through the air.
And he saw they were holding an album
filled with photographs from his youth, Mugsy cringed, for he knew what was coming.
Your name is Ambrose, they shouted, forsooth.
Be gone, you twin rap, scallions, go, cried Mugsy.
Now you seal your doom.
You'll stay put tomorrow, Christmas be hanged, both locked up all day in your room.
With the children departed, Miss Dogmont now spoke.
Don't you know that tonight's Christmas Eve?
You're a selfish old cur with a heart made of stone.
And she sniffed twice and then took her leave.
Wifeless, childless, uncle Mugsy.
Singleness and freedom yours.
No children there to mar your quiet.
No wife to waken with your snores.
Your life, dear Mugsy.
How you've clung to bachelorhood.
Ever doing as you've wanted.
never doing as you should.
Would you change it if you could?
And as he sat there, still and quiet,
his blank gaze drifted to a page of pictures from his childhood,
of moments from a golden age.
And there, under a Christmas tree,
he saw a very happy child,
which made two tears form in his eyes.
But through the tears,
Old Mugsy smiled.
When the twins awoke that Christmas morn, a silent coldness filled their room.
Their Christmas hopes had all been dashed, their dreams of joy replaced by gloom.
But hark, from downstairs came the sound of a laugh that boomed so the rafters shook.
And helpless to contain themselves, the children went to have a look.
And so to the top of the stairs they ran, and oh, what a scene that they found!
Miss Dogmont and Mugsy were both wearing hats, and presents were piled all around.
The town council had formed a Christmas quintet, and the mayor was singing a song.
Here we come a carveling among the leaves so green.
And whenever they came to the chorus, the ambassador of France sang along.
Love and joy, come to you, and to you glad Christmas, too.
Come down, dear children.
Mugsy cried, come down my honored guests. It's Christmas Day, so join us in our gaiety and jests.
We do accept, they now replied, your gracious invitation. But what's to become, oh, uncle dear, of your rest and relaxation?
Hear this well, he said, my guests, there'll be no relaxation. Christmas is not just any day. It's a day for celebration.
And oh, what a grand celebration it was, the happiest day of his life.
For Miss Dogmont that day would become an aunt just after she became Mugsy's wife.
And so our happy stories told, we now shall take our leaves.
If you're in need of anything, remember me.
My name is Peaves.
Hey folks, listeners to my show know I'm passionate about the work of Christian Solidarity International
because they protect and free those who are being persecuted and enslaved for their faith.
Thanks to you to date, CSI has freed more than 100,000 people from slavery in Sudan, but the work is not done yet.
It's estimated that there are still tens of thousands more still in bondage, and CSI is preparing right now for their final slave liberation of this year.
I'm hoping you'll join me and help them liberate another 300.
women and children. Your gift of just $250 will free a woman in Sudan who has been enslaved for years
and provide her with food and other supplies necessary to start her new life. Call 888-253-3522.

3522. God bless you.
Hey there, folks. We've been talking about it.
We are kicking off a new campaign with our dear friends at Christian Solidarity International.
That's CSI. We do this every year. We're kicking it off right now.
This is about freeing slaves, ladies and gentlemen. This is an amazing thing that we get to do.
So right now, let me welcome Todd Chapman with CSI. Todd, welcome back.
It's always great to talk to you.
And this is always just good news, pure good news, that we get to do this.
Eric, we are so thankful for the longstanding partnership we have with you.
And so grateful for the difference that your listeners have made across so many years.
I was actually looking back at how many slaves were freed in our year-end campaign last year.
And it was north of 800 people freed from slavery out of North Sudan and returned to their home country of South Sudan,
and set on a whole new life and equipped to thrive and become self-sustaining for the first time ever.
So thank you. God bless you. And we're hoping for, I'm praying for another big response this year.
Well, I think, you know, a lot of people think this is too good to be true. Like I give $250 or some part of that or some multiple of that.
And you're telling me, first of all, I think people have to say, oh, wait a minute, there's slavery in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, yeah, yeah. There is hard.
for us to fathom. But then the amazing news that I could give money and everybody has some money,
everybody has something, and I can do something that's an unmitigated good. It's just extraordinary.
And it's because you guys at CSI have been there forever. I mean, since what? It's 1977,
you know, kind of doing what you do. Yeah. Yeah. So CSI, it stands for Christian Solidarity International,
founded in 1977 and really were a human rights organization and we work to stop religious
oppression and free people that have been imprisoned for their faith in countries all over
the world.
We work in Africa, which is where this effort obviously is in Sudan, also work in the Middle
East and in India.
And Eric, you're right.
There are more slaves today in the world than there have been at any other time in human
history.
And a lot of times we here in America, we're really kind of shielded from that reality, but
the reality is there people are enslaved all the time. You see in Pakistan people having to
make bricks for slave wages to try to buy themselves out of debt. And, you know, India, the same thing
is going on. In Africa, in Sudan, this slavery, the slaves that you're freeing as you partner
with CSI, many of them have been held in captivity since the 1990s. They were taken captive
during the Sudanese Civil War and they were allowed to be taken into North Sudan. And they've been there
ever since. Many of these slaves have actually had children in slavery. And so CSI since 1995 has been
committed to freeing them. And every year we do what we call slave liberations five times a year.
We have slave retrievers that negotiate the release of these slaves. And then five times a year,
we march two or three hundred back down into South Sudan and into freedom. We've actually
got one more slave liberation coming up between now and the end of the year. So I'm really excited
to have you as an Eric Metaxus listener give your very best gift right now so that we can finish this
year freeing more than 1,500 slaves. That's our goal. You know, this brings up some big questions,
Todd, and I feel like I want to address this up front. I think there are people probably who ask rightly,
how can God allow this? How can God allow people to be literally enslaved, to be raped by masters,
not in the distant past now.
How can God allow this?
And that's a big question.
And it's a good question.
But then I have to ask the follow-up question.
God is allowing everyone who can hear my voice right now to do something about it.
And if you don't do something about it, let's be honest, you're allowing it.
We allow evil to flourish.
God gives us free will.
So this is just an amazing opportunity.
I mean, if somebody tells you about slavery, you know, in 1775 or 1840, there's nothing you can do about it,
but advocate politically for its end and obviously pray for its end.
But today, we have the ability through CSI actually to do something.
And this is something that I've been talking about for a long time.
It's faith in action, folks.
God somehow, he allows evil, and then he allows us to participate with him in overturning evil in a
undoing evil.
Faith is not enough.
We've got to put our faith into action.
That's God's will.
So I want to say right out of the gate, there's a banner at metaxis talk.com.
Metaxistalks talk.com.
It's all there.
You click on the banner and it leads you through to, you'll see everything there.
Metaxistalk.com.
There's a banner.
There's a phone number 888-253-3522.
I'll be repeating it throughout the show.
888-253-3522 and the banner metaxis talk.com.
But we do this to enlist you who are listening to this program to say, please be part
of the solution.
There's real evil in the world, but God has given us the ability in this case to do something
about it.
And it's just a magnificent opportunity before we go to our break.
I want to say it again, folks, the phone number.
And I really hope folks will do this today.
we really, when we have an opportunity like this, I mean, every year, it's amazing, we get to do this.
The phone number is 888-253-3522. Please write it down. 888-253-3522.
Everyone listening to my voice has the ability to do something.
You can do something right now, anything, right now.
You can give monthly, if that's better.
888-253-3522. This is a glorious opportunity to participate with God in standing against evil
in helping real people who are suffering right now. The website, metaxistalk.com, right at the top of the
page, you'll see the banner, metaxis talk.com, metaxistalksotoc.com. We'll be right back.
the time.
I wear the black
for those who...
Folks, welcome back.
I'm excited.
We get to participate
again with CSI,
Christian Solidarity International,
in doing something
extraordinarily
beautiful and good,
freeing slaves,
literally freeing slaves
and putting them
into a life of freedom,
setting them up in a life of freedom.
So we have our friend Todd Chapman
from CSI to kind of give us
the details on that.
So Todd,
what is involved?
I mean,
we're asking people to give $250.
And again, folks, whatever you can give, if you can give $25 a month or many people can
give $10,000, we need everybody to participate at whatever level.
But the question is when CSI says, okay, $250 does this.
What is this, Todd?
Tell us about that.
Yeah, so first of all, I want to be really clear because this is a question that comes
up every year.
Well, are you, you know, buying the freedom of these slaves?
are you using some of the money that I give to, you know, to pay cash to free them?
And no, we're not.
We have never paid cash for any slaves.
We've been doing this since 1995.
And because the concern obviously would be, well, if you're creating a market, you know,
by paying, you know, these slave owners cash, there's going to take more slaves.
Well, the fact of the matter is they're not taking more slaves.
There are fewer Sudanese slaves than there were when we started this work 20, you know, 30 years ago.
And every year, the number of them continues to.
decline because you give. Now, what we do do is we take some of the money that you donate and we
procure a cattle vaccine because many of these slave owners are cattle ranchers and they can't
get these vaccine that they need to keep their cows alive. And so we barter, you know,
a slave in exchange for the vaccine. So there's that. And so the majority of your gift actually goes
to providing a fresh start for these Sudanese slaves. They're mostly women, but we do have
some men as well. And now more and more we're actually able to negotiate the release of children
along with their moms who have been enslaved and slaved for a long time. And so we give them what's
called a bag of hope. We march them down into South Sudan, about two, 300 at a time, a few times a year.
And we have a camp there. We capture all of their information that we can get from them.
We take photographs. We document their story. If they know their name, and many of them don't,
because they've been held in slavery since they were young children. But we try to capture that information
so that we can ultimately reunite them with our family.
That's our goal.
But we also have to give them the resources that will need to start a new life.
So they get a tent, they get some bedding, they get grains, they get a mosquito net.
We give them a female goat that they can use for milk and also for breeding and fishing supplies.
And so they get a whole new start of life through that bag of hope.
And then, of course, all the love and care and attention and counseling led by our pastoral staff
in the community right there that we bring them back into.
And so, Eric, it's so much more than, you know, just all of that stuff.
It truly is setting them on a path to freedom.
And story after story, we hear from these women, they have said, I never thought I would be free.
I've never known anything other than captivity my entire life.
I was taken as a child or I was actually born into slavery.
I never knew what it meant to be free.
Didn't even know my name.
It was taken from me and I was forced to convert to Islam, given a different name.
And so this is literally a whole rebirth, if you will, into freedom in the name of Jesus that you're providing with your gift of $250 or whatever God lays on your heart.
Well, this is what's amazing to me is that we have the ability to do something.
But God doesn't force us.
And I say this over and over to people that I think in the American church, people are so focused on faith.
I faith.
It's all about your salvation.
It's not all about your salvation.
That's a myopic anti-Christian view of the Christian faith.
We are saved by God and then deputized now to live according to his will and to do his will.
We're going to be an army of people sold out to God's purposes.
It's not about going to church on Sunday and singing songs.
That's a little piece of it.
But then we have to live out our faith in every sphere.
And this is a classic example.
We just had an election.
Well, there's nobody to vote for this month or this, you know, season.
What can I do? How can I get involved? God calls us to do many things. This is something that,
by the grace of God, on this program, we get to do. And I want to say, folks, nothing could be a
greater Christmas present to somebody than to say, hey, dad, in your name, we all got together,
and we freed a slave. And here's the information on that. Trust me, as a father, nothing would
touch me more than getting a gift like that, getting, you know, a sweater I don't need or whatever
gadget that's going to be in the garage in six months. Really and truly, this is an opportunity
to do something beautiful for God that's meaningful. This is also something we can teach our kids about
the meaning of life. Tell your kids, here's what we're going to do. We're going to do for grandpa this year.
We're going to all pull together and make a part of your balance and we're going to give part. We're going to do
beautiful thing.
There is nothing more beautifulness.
This is meaningful.
And it teaches our kids and it teaches us about this is the meaning of life.
We get to participate in God's purposes, in working against evil.
And God has given us the privilege that we get to do that.
We have money.
We have freedom.
We have this radio program.
We can talk about this.
It's not oppressed.
It's not suppressed speech.
We get to talk about this.
We get to do something.
but then God doesn't force us to do it.
He gives us the invitation to do it.
And so, folks, I think this is just a beautiful, a beautiful opportunity.
And I want everybody who's listening to participate somehow and to participate ASAP.
This is really just an amazing opportunity.
I can't say that enough.
What an opportunity that we get to do this.
We hear about this evil and some fix it.
So the phone number is 888-253-3522.

The banner's right at the top, metaxistocot.com.
What an opportunity.
And Todd, do people give monthly as well?
Do people sometimes want to do that?
Yeah, absolutely.
You can give monthly.
You can give a one-time gift.
Obviously, you know, it's $250 per slave that you free.
And one of the things I love about, say, your listeners, Eric, is every year, you know, I see some of the names that have given for a number of years now. And we see people coming back and making this a part of their annual giving. And we love that. And also what we see over time, people tend to give more and more because what you said, you know, when you participate in anything that you do in the name of God, yeah, you're bringing good in the world and you're doing, you know, you're showing God's love and transformative ways. But it also changes you. It changes our heart. That's why Jesus talked about.
giving and showing love. And so if you want to change the world, and also I have God change you
in the process, be in part, and it's not just giving to CSI, give to his work anywhere that you feel
led, but I'm just a big believer and lover of what we do at CSI, freeing human beings in the name of
Jesus. I am with you. Freeing human beings, literally, freeing them from slavery, the website,

You sheltered me from her.
Hey there, folks. As promised, I want to get my friend Kevin McCullough back on here to talk about CSI.
This is an insane opportunity. I beg you, take advantage of the opportunity to free a slave.
There's nothing more significant.
Anyone could do.
No better Christmas present.
You could give to someone to say that you've done this in their name.
You've freed a slave.
You go to metaxis talk.com.
Metaxistalkis talk.com.
The banner's right there.
So my first question for you, Kevin McCullough, you were recently on here talking about the work CSI does.
I thought I'd have you back.
So you could detail further the impact that is made.
So what do you say?
Well, the great thing about what CSI is doing,
and I love the fact that our shows do this together.
We're both in the process of asking people to join the effort.
And what's great about doing it at this time of year is that we are just around the corner from another major liberation with Christian Solidarity International.
And what that means is that people are going to be freed and they're going to be allowed to go home.
And as you think about the holidays and kind of what this is normally all about, you know, all about,
going home is a big thing for a lot of us at this time of year.
But imagine being someone who was kidnapped from your home when you were maybe six,
seven, eight years of age.
You're a girl.
Your parents may have been killed in front of you.
Your mom may have been raped in front of you.
There may have been things that you've seen repeatedly in how people treated you over
and over again for dozens of years.
And now as an adult, you have the first opportunity.
this Christmas to be with people that love you, to be with people that have missed you, to be with people that have wondered if you were even still alive.
That's the beauty of CSI at Christmas time. We have a liberation that is just around the corner and we can give them that new life, that return home, that blessing that we all enjoy when we go home for Christmas, we can give that to these hurting hearts that have not felt it in years.
and in some instances ever.
Kevin, where does the $250 go that it frees the slave?
I mean, there's more.
How are those resources specifically utilized?
The CSI program is pretty straightforward.
There are what we refer to as retrievers that are Sudan Arabs
that want to have good relationships with South Sudan Christians.
And they have been recruited over time, over the number of years,
CSI's been doing this, to go into Sudan and look for slaves that are thought to still be alive,
thought to still be there.
At one point, there were 185,000 women and children that had been taken as slaves.
We believe the number is somewhere around 35,000 now, after years and years and years of CSI,
basically being the lone voice in the wilderness, saying, we got to do something about this.
But these retrievers locate them.
They alert CSI.
they engage in negotiation and they secure the release of the slave.
Now, what the slave master will usually release the slave for in exchange is a very hard-to-get cattle vaccine
that helps their cattle withstand the extreme temperatures of what they are going through.
Many of these slave masters are ranchers.
Cattle is their only means of material wealth or income.
and so, you know, you can't be having cattle die on you and be successful.
So the life of the cow or the bull is more valuable to the slave master than the life of the slave.
And CSI is able to effectively say, if you'll release this slave, we will see to it that we get a vaccine for your cattle.
I know that everybody's in a different place, but everybody can do something.
whatever you can do, please, folks, join us in this beautiful, beautiful thing.
