Starting point is 00:00:00 Noble gold investments is the official gold sponsor of the Eric Mataxis show, a company that specializes in gold IRAs and physical delivery of precious metals. Learn how you can protect your wealth with noble gold investments. That's noble gold investments.com. Welcome to the Eric Mataxis show. Did you ever see the movie The Blobs starring Steve McQueen? The blood-curdling prep of The Blobs. Well, way back when Eric had a small part in that film, but they had a cut his scene because the blob was supposed to eat him, but he kept spitting him out. Oh, the whole thing was just a disaster. Anyway, here's the guy who's not always that easy to digest. Eric the Texas. Hey there, folks. Welcome to the show. Welcome to Thursday, August 22nd. Chris Heimes, welcome to Thursday, August 22nd. We are, we're still in Nashville. Nobody can get to the bottom of it. We don't know
Starting point is 00:01:07 how we got here. We don't know why we're here. We need help, basically, folks. If you if you could help us out, get us out of here because we just don't know what happened. There's a rumor. Yeah, there's a rumor we woke up with some jugs to start a jug band with. We went on the road and we failed. We failed at it. Yeah, they were full of moonshine.
Starting point is 00:01:26 We didn't know what it was. We drank it. And you know what? Our lives are really messed up right now. A cautionary tale. Yeah, don't do it. Don't do it. If you wake up next to some jugs, don't drink it, folks. No, but here's the, here's the real issue. The real issue is today's
Starting point is 00:01:39 August 22nd. And every time, it's August 22nd, I think, hey, it's my parents' anniversary. This is the first time in 65 years that my mother doesn't have my dad around because he passed in January. So it would have been 65 years. They were married in 59, August 22nd. So it's a sacred day for me and my family, not to overstate it, but just so proud to be the son of Nick and Anna Rose metaxus. Oh, boy. Hey, Eric, don't forget our partners at Americans for Prosperity.org. They're doing a lot of amazing stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:16 They're working to get the word out about inflation and how to end it. And also, they're talking about the problems at the border, something that the Democrats seem to want to do. Americans for prosperity, folks. Check them out. Americans for prosperity. And also, while we're at it, I'd like to mention our friends at the Herzog Foundation. Folks, if you're interested in homeschooling your kids and maybe you're not sure how to do it, the Herzog Foundation are heroes.
Starting point is 00:02:46 They're heroes. We've had them on the program. Homeschooling is the coolest thing ever. It's our future as a nation. Quality K-12 Christ-centered education, homeschooling. Check out Hurtzog Foundation. They're doing it and they're here to help. Same thing with Americans for prosperity.
Starting point is 00:03:08 They exist to help us. So please check them out. Now, this weekend, tomorrow, actually, I'm traveling up to upstate New York with someone that I've had on this program, Michael Caporelli. And I'm going to, by God's grace, visit David Berkowitz. You might know him as the former son of Sam, who. killed six people in the summer of 77. They call it the summer of Sam. He is the ultimate story of redemption. This man who had given himself over to evil has been dramatically, genuinely
Starting point is 00:03:54 born again, and he has for decades now been living out his faith in prison. I have corresponded with him. I'm going to travel up there to meet with him. And I just say, what an honor to get to meet this guy who will probably never get out of prison, but who's given his life over. And it's just, actually, you know what, I will talk about it on Monday or Tuesday when we get a chance. I want to talk about it because we've talked about him on this program before, but I've not met him before. Also this weekend I'm preaching in Ocean City, New Jersey at the Ocean City Tabernacle, both services this Sunday, August 25th. Really looking forward to that down there on the Jersey Shore. So that's exciting.
Starting point is 00:04:45 So a lot going on. A lot going on next week. Obviously, we're in the throes of what they call the Democratic National Convention, which is highly unpleasant. Some people who are friends of mine are there. Charlie Kirk is there. Amazing hero, Charlie Kirk. Mike Lindell is there. By the way, Mike is a patriot.
Starting point is 00:05:09 You knew that. But he needs help. He has been attacked like nobody has been attacked. And he, if you want to support Mike Lindell and his efforts, go to Mypillow.com or MyStore.com and please use the code Eric. it's important that we support folks like Mike Lundell. I mean, he is just indefatigable. He's tireless.
Starting point is 00:05:35 He cares about America. And he has really, he's, you know, just about lost his company. I mean, it's unbelievable what he has been through. But he is really the definition of indefatigable. And I have to take my hat off to him. But if you want to support him and help support this program, go to MyPillow.com or go to MyStore.com. You can buy most of my books at MyStore.com or the glorious Bonhoeffer poster and use the code Eric.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Let me also remind you, this is the time. We have like 80 days to save America. And if your church has not yet screened letter to the American church, I'm asking you, folks, please go to letter to the American church.com for a donation of anything. You can do a free screening at your church. Whatever the donation is, you can do a screening at your church. Everybody can come and see it. You don't have to pay if your church wants to do that.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Now, if your church doesn't want to do that, I guess I want to ask you the question I've asked many times, why do you want to go to that church? We are in a battle. it's a fight to the death for the United States of America. Now, if you don't know that, I'm sorry to tell you, that's a fact. This is it. The Democrats, if they get back in, if they can control the White House, I'm telling you, they're coming after you and your pastor.
Starting point is 00:07:11 If you speak out and you get out of line, if you say pro-life things, they are coming after you. They have come after friends of mine. And I just never thought I'd love to see the. day. I thought this was exaggeration. We need to stand for what is right and good and true. The church needs to stand. I wrote about it in the book, Letter to the American Church. And if you go to letter to the American church.com, you can get the book and get the study guide. Your church can do the free screening. There's a lot of other stuff there. But this is important stuff. This is coming up. And this is not like another year. It's not like another election.
Starting point is 00:07:49 I'm begging you to take it seriously. You'll be sorry if you don't, folks, because this is real. This is just as real, as I say, over and over as what Germany went through in the early 30s. The German church did not take it seriously. They thought, how bad could it get? They had no idea. They had no idea. And most Americans have no idea.
Starting point is 00:08:11 And we've only tasted it. So I'm asking you, please go to letter to the American church. com. Finally, many of you know, we're in the final two days of a campaign with food for the poor. This is a Christian relief organization that we believe in. They're doing God's work. They're feeding the poorest of the poor in Latin America, in the Caribbean, where for many reasons, children are starving. That's real. We can do something about it. $50, $50. feeds a kid two nutritious meals a day for an entire year. If you can imagine that your money could go that far, tax deductible,
Starting point is 00:08:58 please go to metaxistalk.com. You'll see the banner at metaxistock.com. It is really a great privilege that we get to use our money for this cause. Metaxistococ.com. You'll see the Give Life banner. Folks, give anything you can. metaxis talk.com. You'll feel better.
Starting point is 00:09:21 It's a beautiful thing. If you can't go to metaxis talk.com, you can text Eric to 51555. That's my name, Eric, to 51555. When you do that on your phone, a link will come up and you can give there. But this is literally to feed starving kids. It doesn't get more real than that. Text Eric to 51555 or go to metaxistalk.com. You'll see the Give Life banner.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Any donation you make, it is really important. We are in the final two days. If you haven't done it, now's your chance. Again, go to metaxis talk.com. Click on the banner. It's my joy to have on a friend, Victor Marks.
Starting point is 00:12:26 He has a new book out called The Dangerous Gentleman. That is just a beautiful, beautiful title. Victor Marks, welcome back. Hey, good to see you, my brother. Now, a lot of people have seen you in the film Letter to the American Church. Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't seen Letter to the American Church yet, for sure, you need to see that film. Victor is one of the special guests in it, along with his wife, Eileen, a letter to the American Church.com. If you haven't seen that, folks, you've got to see it.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Please go to Letter of the American Church.com. Tell your friends, the hour is late. We've got to wake up church in America. Victor, tell us about the idea of the dangerous gentleman. What's the idea behind us? Well, I think it's to inspire and motivate young men. And man, to take a look, I mean, a real honest assessment of where they're at as men. And to see, are they fulfilling the role that God has ordained them to be?
Starting point is 00:13:29 I mean, we can talk statistics all day long on how bad it is in America. but it just got to a place, as you know, we do lots of work overseas, rescuing women and children from ISIS and pedophiles and, I mean, bad guys everywhere. And I would be looking back, looking at the news of America and seeing what's happening. And it just, it's sickened me. And then it concerned me. And then I said, man, we better do something. So, hence, we wrote the book to help young men and men,
Starting point is 00:14:02 assess and then learn some tools so that they can be both dangerous in a good way and a gentleman, which is needed in our society more than ever. It's funny. This always makes me think of the famous line in C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia from the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, where the kids ask about Aslan, who's the Christ figure, this lion, they say, is he taint? and the answer is no he is not tame but he is good there's a wildness there combined with a profound bottomless goodness we've lost sight of that that's god's idea of manhood that has been
Starting point is 00:14:48 lost in the culture so we get kind of toxic masculinity on the one hand and then we get a feminacy on the other yeah but odd's idea of what a man's supposed to be we're supposed to be strong and gentle. There's supposed to be a wildness, but it's in the service of goodness, in the service of God, in the service of others. It's a radical thing in this day and age. So I love the idea that you've summed it up in your book title, The Dangerous Gentleman. And that's the title. Is there a subtitle? That's it. No, it's dangerous gentlemen. So talk about it. It's a call for men to be courageous in a culture of fear. You, I mean, you, you, called it many years ago that if men in churches didn't stand up and wake up and start putting
Starting point is 00:15:39 their faith in action, we would be facing one of the worst crises of our time. And we are. And, you know, it's not that hard. I want to clarify when people say, well, Dane just had a guy and read me the other day going, well, Victor, if you walk in a room, you know, people kind of know if they know your history or whatnot, you kind of embody this thing. I said, it's not about violence, okay? It's about capability. And we all run in different lanes. So it's someone like you who influences, well, millions.
Starting point is 00:16:19 You are a dangerous gentleman. And when I say dangerous, I'm talking about dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. That is actually the most important thing. So we need meant to start there. The masculinity, I'm trying to encourage people, is moral masculinity. Because like you said, there is this toxic thing where, being in your chest and that, no, I think when a man is moral and he's masculine and he's capable, that actually, it's almost like a covering for women and children and the innocent.
Starting point is 00:16:55 but they're drawn to that. I want to be clear, because there's some people that they don't know who you are. How am I honest to understand, you know, who you are, your background, your ability with weapons, with, you know, fighting bad guys? How do we sum that up when I'm talking about victim arc? Because I want people to know where you're coming. Just look at these hands. That sums it up. I think I just pulled a wrist muscle.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Now, listen, yeah, I've got a background of martial arts, military, marine. I came from a real struggling childhood. That's what kind of propelled me and drove me. I became a world record holder of the world's fastest gunnedish arm. It's been seen. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Yeah, I think you're breaking up. You became the world record holder of what?
Starting point is 00:17:50 It's the fastest gun disarm that's ever been done. The fastest gun disarm that's ever been done. Somebody comes at you with a gun and you disarm them. Yep. So if they put a pistol to my face, it's been timed. With my hands down, them having the hammer pulled back and their finger on the trigger, I can disarm them, take the weapon, pull them out, magazine out, and pointed back at them in eight-tenths of a second. So, and...
Starting point is 00:18:24 And look, I say people admire you for your success, but they relate to you because you're paying. And I only got that good, that fast because of an abusive stepfather who held a pistol to my head when I was a kid. So in my mind, I said one day, no one will ever be able to do this. And, you know, it drove me to, once I came to faith, I followed the past. of God. And I ended up bringing me on over 130 missions, I think we're 19th towns overseas, to rescue, recover, women and children. We got best known for hurting ISIS's feelings in the Middle East.
Starting point is 00:19:13 And ISIS's feelings in the Middle East. Okay. What do you mean by that? Again, some people know you, but this is stuff, folks. We're talking about a bad dude who's a deeply good dude. So what do you mean when you say that? You went to the Middle East. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Well, okay, I'll put in context because a lot of people go, how many years ago was that? How many decades was that when you were doing this? And I said, well, we've been doing it for decades. But our last mission, four months ago, in Iraq with a small team, we rescued a girl that had been held captive by ISIS for nine years. She had two children as a sex slave under their control, and we got her back to her family who thought she was dead. The operation, the mission, it took a six months of planning, total five days' execution, wills down, wills up out of the country.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And it's a cross between like a Jason-born movie and Ocean's 11. I had former CIA Delta FBI, a lot of incredible former guys. And guess who the lead was to make first contact with this woman who's been in help by ISIS for like nine years? It was my bride, Eileen. And when I actually, for the first time ever said, Hey, babe, can I just record you getting your gear on?
Starting point is 00:20:51 and she was putting on low profile body armor, a Glock, extra mags, a dagger. When she put a grenade in her pocket, I was like, I don't think people would really understand this. Certainly not church folks.
Starting point is 00:21:07 Because there's so many skeptics out there. You keep it all the family. I just love the idea that the two of you are, I mean, this is amazing stuff. This is encouraging stuff. Victor, knowing you and Eileen are doing what you do. You've been doing what you do for many years. It is so encouraging. It is so we need to hear these stories. What you just said about rescuing this
Starting point is 00:21:33 woman who was a sex slave for ISIS for nine years. I mean, there's evil in the world, folks. There's evil in the world. If you are living in a world that thinks the worst thing that happens is when somebody pronoun says your pronouns wrong, you're living in a fantasy. You need to to live in the real world where there's real evil and you need real goodness, God's goodness, to fight against that evil. So, all right, the book is called The Dangerous Gentleman. Just got seconds left in this segment. But what's in the book?
Starting point is 00:22:08 A lot of words. Sorry, no pictures. But it's fun, motivating stories of rescues, just like the one I told you about. My hardships, this is a good thing. and bad. And it, you know, it doesn't make me out to be Superman repelling upside down out of that helicopter with a K bar in my mouth. I'm just an ordinary dude that God allowed me to partake in what he's doing. I found how to get, I really did find out how to get in that stream of what God's doing. And he has allowed me over my lifetime as a believer to do extraordinary things.
Starting point is 00:22:46 And this will encourage men and young men, because we, man, man, we, man. We need young men to be motivated, excited, challenge, and to do more than me and you, right? To do everything. It's called The Dangerous Gentleman. The Dangerous Gentleman by Victor Marks. We'll be right back. Hey, this is Eric Mettaxas. Starting point is 00:25:25 Church. His wife Eileen is also in the film Letter to the American Church. You can see it at Letter to the American Church.com. Please, if you haven't, check it out. Please go to Letter to the American Church.com. Victor, your book, we're talking about the brand new books called The Dangerous Gentleman. Let's talk about the gentleman side of that. You don't often hear people talking about being a gentleman. They talk about being a badass.
Starting point is 00:25:52 I mean, we're not really, we've been given this false choice sometimes, right? Like I'm mean or I'm effeminate and soft. No, no, no, no, no. That's a false choice. And actually, I write about this in my book, Seven Men. I actually write about this in the forward or the introduction of my book Seven Men is that we have this false definition of masculinity. God's idea of masculinity is that we're simultaneously gentlemen and dangerous in the best sense,
Starting point is 00:26:24 strong for others. But talk about the gentleman's side. Why did you title the book A Dangerous Gentleman? Well, I think the culture right now is exactly what you said. There are extremes. And you see people on social media, and they're talking about how many cars, how many women can you get, you know, how much money you have. That's not God's idea of what a man should be. Or you got the feminine side, which oftentimes, I'll speak to them.
Starting point is 00:26:53 They've just given up. they've seen the toxic aspect and most of these feminine guys honestly were raised without a dad. They didn't, they had no one, they had no fathering Sherpa to show them the way. And then some, you know, just have developmental illness and struggles. And some are completely demonized to be quite frank. So, you know, our whole goal is to set captives free, physically, emotional, spiritually. The gentleman aspect, one of the best definitions I learned early on, was meekness,
Starting point is 00:27:33 that I heard Jesus was meek. I said, well, I don't want to be meek. That sounds like a sissy. Until I heard a good deologian explained it, meekness is power under control. And because of my years in martial arts, jujitsu karate, I used to run martial arts schools. I've gotten into what I would say, plenty of. manifestations of evil of people trying to hurt me even recently someone tried to kill me and i don't know if i even told you this eric it's we've kept it kind of quiet um but yeah someone took a shot
Starting point is 00:28:11 at me over here in colorado on my property hiding behind a stained window uh at an elevated position and took a shot at me through the window now why um i definitely would say he was demonized. That's the easiest way. Why you? Why would somebody come after you? I don't understand. Well, we've put a lot of bad people in prison.
Starting point is 00:28:37 We've made some people on this earth change their address in other countries if they're trying to kill people, you know, legally and all that. And then just overall, I take a stand for what is what? right and we just don't back down and i think the enemy has used many people to try to hinder destroy or even kill me um and this this was almost a situation like chris kow you know who and it's complicated because we are actually in a criminal case so on the point of meekness and it's i think it's a good example of what the book is he takes a shot it's 36 inches away from me right through the glass window.
Starting point is 00:29:27 It was tinted, so I never saw it coming. It misses my eye. Wait a minute. Three feet away from you? He shot at you. Three feet away from you. You just said that. Yeah, 36 inches with a pistol behind a window that was tinted. And when I came up or walked past the window and faced it, he shot through it. I couldn't see him, didn't know he was going to shoot me.
Starting point is 00:29:50 It went through the frame of the window, missed my eye by two inches. literally I did a video and sent it to President Trump. I posted it on my, and I just said, hey, I get it. Don't let your anger turn into bitterness. And I just said, you know, we're not hard to find. We're just hard to kill because God's not done with us yet. I drew my weapon. I put it on them.
Starting point is 00:30:14 I could have killed him. I got off the X. I could have easily killed them, Eric. And it's not hard to kill people when you're justified in the right position, but I felt like God said don't. Because he couldn't kill me at that point. I'm off the X. He wasn't a threat to me unless you're off the X.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Hold on. You know, you're speaking in this jargon. What does that mean? You're off the X. So you're behind a window. He comes to your house. He shoots. He misses.
Starting point is 00:30:40 That's strange that he can miss from three feet away. Just misses you. You instantly, this is what amazes me about you. You instantly draw your weapon because you're armed. Yep. And you do not. Shoot back. Correct.
Starting point is 00:30:56 He's contained in a trailer on our property, a small travel trailer. I walk past it, and he's elevated. He sees me, and then he fires the weapon trying to kill me. And although it's close and he misses, which no one should have, that's proof we believe that angels exist. So to get off the X means I move. out of the area where he has a chance to kill me. He fires again multiple times. I'm not in, I'm out of, he's not going to be to hit me.
Starting point is 00:31:34 But I could kill him. I could definitely shoot him. And I remember going into our house, opening the door, I leans in the living room. I'm standing, I'm literally straddling the threshold, looking outside with my pistol and looking at my bride. And I said, If I said this guy's shooting at me, try to kill me, if he comes around the corner,
Starting point is 00:31:58 I lean, I'm going to kill him. Hold on, folks. This is called a cliffhanger and show business. There's a communist plot to take over America. The new documentary beneath sheep's clothing exposes the dark truth. Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of American students. America's schools have been turned into Marxist-Maoist re-education centers. Here's the thing about communism.
Starting point is 00:32:24 When it comes knocking at your door, it doesn't say, hi, I'm here to impoverish, enslave, and murder you. It says, I'm here to liberate you from oppression. You take over the colleges of education, then you take over all the teachers, then you take over all the students, unless you get the future. Beneath sheep's clothing reveals the communist infiltration of America's education system. Churches and media. Will a political revolution be next? Starting point is 00:33:18 Folks welcome back. We're talking to Victor Marks, the author of a brand new book, The Dangerous Gentleman. And Victor, you're describing to us right now how you are a dangerous gentleman. So you're telling me this guy shoots at you, misses. So you now move out of his sight. You stick your head out the door. You know exactly where he is next to your house. So what do you do? Well, I told my wife, if he comes around the corner presenting his weapon, I'm going to kill him. He'll leave me no choice.
Starting point is 00:33:48 And I lean, because we're a team, which is always good, she goes, I'll die 911. And she made sure her back doors are locked. and as I'm holding and waiting, holding and waiting, he doesn't come around the corner. Then I push forward back to where that trailer is, and I tell him, hey, man, you need to throw that window, that weapon out that window. I don't want to have to call the police because they'll smoke you. And all I can do is hear him growl, like a demonic growl. Are you serious? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:23 You're growling? Oh, yeah. like un, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, let me say this. I know I was hearing God to be me, power and the control just because you can, doesn't mean you need to, that is an example of being a dangerous gentleman. It's, it's, and that's where, that's where people miss it, because I've had people tell me, oh, I would have just shot them?
Starting point is 00:34:50 I'm like, would you? Have you ever, uh, I would have you ever, uh, I would have you ever, uh, have you ever. kill anybody. It's a pretty permanent decision. And I think the greatest moral masculine warrior wants to hear God about, do I engage this? Do you want me to kill him? And our Holy Spirit say, don't shoot him. Now, with that, I'm telling men, I'm telling everyone listening right now, it was almost a 20-minute time delay before the first officer rolled up. Now, we're in accounting, so I get it, but 20 minutes with an active shooter. Thank God I had a weapon, which allowed me to be prepared, not paranoid.
Starting point is 00:35:29 I wasn't nervous at all. I was concerned I'd have to kill him, but 20 minutes. And me and you were at a recent event, and I spoke to a group of men who were, I would say, wealthy, you know. And I told them, I said, Are you men mission ready? Because they all got a copy of my book. I said, you should be mission ready for whatever God has for you at whatever stage of your life, but physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I said, some of you, I'm going to hurt your feelings, but I'm, you know, some of you are just fat and lazy.
Starting point is 00:36:07 I'm looking at you. You let yourself go. You've got wealth. You've done good. Now, if it's medical or something, I get it. But if it's just you got lazy. And I said, could you carry a child out of a burning? house, could you drag your wife out of a car accident?
Starting point is 00:36:25 Could you, in any circumstance, properly defend your loved ones or an innocent person? Said, if you can't assess yourself and start moving toward getting better in these areas physically, emotionally, which may require counseling because a lot of guys have some blocks in their mind and then spiritually. There's nothing better than a man of God who's filled with the spirit of the of God, who understands the war that's going on, which your film and your books speak so perfectly about, is to be able to engage. God uses prepared vessels, and you and I both know that when violence hits, 9-1-1 is not
Starting point is 00:37:10 the answer. It's not going to be your answer in the immediate. So a little bit prepared, including medical treatment, situational awareness, how to avoid. There are very easy things, and my book helps young men and men start to formally a simple plan. Because to me, somebody can give you advice, but if you can't apply it, what good is it? It would, you know, it's like, ah, whatever. That sounds good for you. No, we're talking someone who never used to know how to fight, was actually scared of fight,
Starting point is 00:37:43 and then just slowly started developing skill sets and then started training special operations. guys. And then next thing I know, God is using me and a great team to do things I never thought I would do. And lives are saved, children are rescued, and scenes humiliated. So you have trained special ops guys, you said. Oh, yeah. Yeah, for decades. For decades. Oh, yeah. How did you get to do that? Now, there's where were you earlier in life that you were, that you're qualified to train special ops guys? That's amazing. Yeah, either they would come to me, which would be mission specific things certain guys had to do. Or there would be small units that bring me in that I would help equip.
Starting point is 00:38:38 What I'm saying is how did you get, what is your story remind us of what is your story to where you got to? where you knew this stuff. Yeah, well, one of the mental aspect has ended up being one of the best. I was tortured and left for dead as a kid in a commercial cooler. I was electrocuted. I should have never recovered from that. So resiliency is one of the main things I teach men and women. But then because of my martial arts background and my time in the Marine Corps,
Starting point is 00:39:12 and I developed a, for me, I think it's a gift from God of non-teleographic movement where I can hit a person between six to eight times and just around a second. And that's with empty hands or a blade. So using a blade or empty hands, and it's, and I've taught different groups and teams like all over the world who are fighting a good fight. When Hamas attacked Israel, we were in days after a special operations guy called me, said, are you taking a team? I said, if I get an invitation with access and placement, yes. Within days, we were heading out. And these special operations teams in Israel, the really great guys in the training center brought me and my team in to start training them.
Starting point is 00:40:09 and then me and one other team member were the first Americans actually going to Gaza during the fighting. And my goal was to pray. And I did. I wasn't there to try to smoke bad people. There's plenty of Israelis doing that.
Starting point is 00:40:26 But, you know, and I'll tell people, the power of prayer, as we pulled up, I thought they were going to bring me to the northern Gaza Strip. They brought us right into the middle of the fighting. And I was like, okay, Lord. these Israeli fellas, they stayed back. We crested a hill with the full view.
Starting point is 00:40:49 And now we're kidded up, right? But I will tell you. Hang on a second. We're going to go to a break, Victor. I want you to finish this when we come back. Folks, if you're not intrigued, you're not paying attention. The Dangerous Gentleman is the book. Victor Marx is my guest.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Welcome back talking to Victor Marx. The book is the dangerous general. If you are not intrigued, you're not paying attention. So you're talking about going into Israel, into Gaza days after October 7th. So say again what you were saying at the end of the last. Well, we were brought there by a special team of Israeli, special forces, very, very small unit, highly elite. And because we were training, equipping, encouraging. they brought us in and, you know, I was doing a reconnaissance of Gaza children being affected or not,
Starting point is 00:41:57 but here's what it ended up being. I felt like God said the most important thing you can do when you go into Gaza is pray, because it is a battle of good and evil. Now, folks, you'd have to be there, but actually we have the video. So, you know, because some things in my life sound a little extreme, but we have witnesses and testimonies. But as we're standing there, cresting on this heel, looking over all this fighting, I see my Israeli buddies kind of, several of them are kind of getting back behind the berm, one staying out there. And then the Lord says, raise your hand in some pray.
Starting point is 00:42:36 So I just start praying over demonic forces, the evil between Hamas and Israel, and I'm praying, praying. And I can see the guys are very nervous. I don't know why. maybe because we're silhouetted and we're like this, me and my buddy. And all of a sudden, and I didn't know this at the time, there was a sniper in a building in front of us shooting at us. He was fine. I had no clue.
Starting point is 00:43:02 But I did hear the tracks of a tank roll out of this little alley area that I didn't see. I see the tank. The turret turns toward the building. Boom. And it drops up a monster right. and then explodes the corner of that building, the sniper fire stops. This is what they told me. I just thought the tank was hitting a building.
Starting point is 00:43:24 As we're heading back from this little mission, this Israeli guy, wonderful, wonderful guy, great warrior. He didn't see him, he goes, man, you guys really believe your faith. Just to stand up there and just pray, he says, it blows me away. I said, well, we want to obey God. That's why we're here. And you know, we helped over 6,000 kids in Israel. And we've helped kids in the West Bank before, Palestinian kids. So God loves all the children of the world, and they're the ones that end up paying the biggest price for war always.
Starting point is 00:44:02 But yes, it's wherever a man is in his life, high school, college, work, unemployed, retired, God, man, God wants to use you as a dangerous gentleman right where you are. And I believe that would all my heart. Well, I'm in awe of the fact that you're such a prayer warrior. You do deliverance. You cast demons out. I mean, it's so interesting how some people, you know, they'll agree with this or that, but this is, you know, then you say something to go, that's too far from me. I mean, the idea that you hear from God, that you felt that you ought to pray at a moment when a sniper
Starting point is 00:44:45 is aiming at you. But I think the thing is, Victor, that at some point, we really do trust God. It's not like, well, who knows? No, no, no. We are actually trusting God. If God tells me to pray, it means he's got me covered. And by the way, if I get killed doing what God tells me to do, that's in God's hands. When you kill me, I don't die because we got to live like that.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Yeah. Hey, one thing for the women out there, because we've been talking on all this man stuff, the power and the influence of a wife is beyond what most women know. And I remember going on a mission, and I told my wife, babe, this one is so bad. It's a good chance you could become a widow for the cause of Christ, because that's the only reason while we're doing this, but I'm going deep in the Isis territory. She just goes, honey, go do the deal because I'd rather be a widow than married to someone known as a coward. Be a godly man.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Go get it. That is beautiful. Folks, Victor Marks, the author of The Dangerous Gentleman, Victor. Thank you, my friend. Of course. Appreciate you.
