Starting point is 00:00:09 Welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show. We'll get you from point A to point B. But if you're looking for point C, well, buddy, you're on your own. But if you'll wait right here, in just about two minutes, the bus to point C will be coming right by. And now here's your Ralph Cramden of the airways, Eric Mattaxas. Ladies and gentlemen, do I seem happy? I'm not really.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Actually, no. I really am happy. Why? because I get to talk to my friend Victoria Jackson. Vicky, you just make me happy. Thanks for coming on. Thanks, Eric. You make me happy too.
Starting point is 00:00:49 I want to go back on the cruise. We had a nice time on the cruise. I have to say, I've never been on a cruise before. I didn't know what to expect. And I want to do it again. I mean, I want to do it again next year because it was, I mean, I knew it would be fun. But when you do it,
Starting point is 00:01:09 You just think, wow, now I know, and I would do a couple things different. I just think, like, this is something I'd like to do every year if possible, certainly next year. But you, first of all, I'm so glad you came. You and Paul, your husband. I love Paul. He's just so wonderful. And there's so, where do we even start, Vicki? Where should we start?
Starting point is 00:01:30 I don't know. Well, we'll start with this. Number one, my favorite part is the people I met that are your fans. you attract the greatest people I've ever met. For instance, when we were in Ephesus, like-minded people, good minds think alike. So you were in Ephesus. We were in the ruins of an actual amphitheater near where Paul's amphitheater, where he actually preached the gospel and went to prison for it,
Starting point is 00:02:08 and they showed us the prison up on the hill. It was so exciting. Okay, so you're, you're reading the book of Ephesus, and we're all sitting. No, no, I'm reading the book of Ephesians. I mean, Ephesians, yeah. The book of Ephesus is not a real book. No, but you're, okay, but just in case people don't know, yes, when we went to, we went to all these different places, we went to Turkey, and we took a bus to nearby Ephesus. So this is the very place where Paul lived for three years.
Starting point is 00:02:38 And obviously when he wasn't there, he wrote a letter to them, which we call the Book of Ephesians. And I decided, hey, we're all going to be together in Ephesus. Why don't I read out loud as a devotional, the entire book, six chapters, the book of Ephesians. So I read it out loud. That was one of our first days together. And I just thought it was so special to hear the Word of God in the very place where the people lived who received the book of Ephesians as a letter to them. So anyway, just so people have the background. But yes, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:03:09 So good minds think alike. So earlier that day, I was on our balcony and I was filming myself reading Ephesians because good minds think alike. I think you want to say great minds think alike. Yeah, great minds think alike. I was sitting out there and I put makeup on. My new thing is some of my friends said they like it when I read the Bible out loud. And I said, really?
Starting point is 00:03:35 So I've been videoing, I'm going to video myself reading the whole Bible on my YouTube and Instagram because I'm like, why should we talk about the Bible? Let's just read the Bible. So that's my new thing. So I was sitting out there and I'm like, look, we're going to Ephesus today. Look, and I'm going to read Ephesians. So I was reading it out loud. And then it went back in our little room. And then Paul went out to look at the ocean. and he started talking to our next-door neighbor, and I was thinking, oh, brother, is probably a 20-year-old in a bikini. We're probably have a suite next to a 20-year-old in a bikini. Just my luck.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Well, it turns out it's one of Eric Mattax's fans, and he's a guy named John, and he leans over to say hi to Paul. Because the ship had thousands of people, but Eric Mettax's group was like 3 or 400, right? Yeah, 300. We were like a little group within a huge group. So there was a lady in a burqa.
Starting point is 00:04:41 There was people from India, you know. But so we, so Paul's talking to our next door sweet neighbor. And turns out John was sitting out on his balcony praying for me. He was praying for me to be healed of cancer, stage four. He was out there. for me and all of a sudden he heard my voice, my squeaky voice, wafting across the air reading Ephesians. Isn't that like the, that's like Eric Hax's quite of fans. Are you, wow. I mean, I think I heard this, but I didn't really get it till now. You're telling me at he didn't know
Starting point is 00:05:25 that his balcony was next to yours. No, he didn't know. We had to be. That's a key part of the story, Vicki, when you're telling this story, that's the point. It's like he's not thinking of you because you're next door. He's just thinking of you and praying with you and then he hears your voice and you're next door. That's a lot. And I want to say on this ship
Starting point is 00:05:45 not all of the Eric Mataxis gang were together. We were scattered throughout the ship. I mean, I don't know maybe some people were together but we weren't next to anybody that was part of our thing, you know, so that's even crazier. So you
Starting point is 00:06:01 You mean to tell me that this guy was praying for you? I mean, I guess he knew you were on the cruise and he knew that you have cancer. Yeah. But he just happened to be praying for you and then he hears your voice. It's so cool. So we got to be best friends with them, John and Nancy, next door. So then we got to be best friends with Thomas and Doreen, a doctor and a nurse, who are your fans. And, you know, we got to be best friends with this young couple, Candace and Adam.
Starting point is 00:06:36 I mean, your fans are the greatest people. They love the Bible. They love the Lord Jesus. They love saving America from communism. So like-minded. And so my favorite thing was meeting great people who were your fans. You know, that was my favorite part. tying with.
Starting point is 00:07:00 It's funny you say that because that's what I was saying. Like when you do something like this, it's the fellowship that's the most wonderful because you're getting together with people who share your values, you know, and it's not so much that they're my fans, but that there are people that think the same way that we do and care about what I talk about. They care about God. They care about the nation. They care.
Starting point is 00:07:21 You know, they, they, we have, you know, it's like a dating service. You know, you're connected with people that, you know, you're connected with people that, you know, know. And so you're very likely to make friends. And I said to people when I, when we were, you know, advertising the cruise before the cruise, I said, folks, you're going to make friends on this cruise. You can't help it. You can't help it. And it happened to everybody. Albin was on the program the other day. He said the same thing. He starts listing the names of these couples that he and Anne are friends with. And I thought, this is wonderful. Because actually this matters. Like friendship, having friends who share our values and we can pray for each other.
Starting point is 00:08:01 You know, all that stuff is so key. It's so important. But I'm thrilled to hear your version of this. This is pretty terrific. And I didn't want, I don't want any more friends. I've got enough friends. But it's a God thing. You know, it's just divine appointments and friends are important.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And, you know, I tend to isolate. I think a lot of people, we want to just be on YouTube. tube and not have to deal with the emotional investment of other people, but God encourages it. And it really makes your life so rich. And so my second favorite thing is, well, I have to have goals. And so one of my goals was to get handstand photos in these faraway places for my handstand collection. Because, you know, if you just have a handstand collection, of oh i did a handstand on johnny carson and saturday night live and a few american cities boring but if you have a handstand collection that has istanbul in front of a mosque that you went into and you
Starting point is 00:09:11 have a handstand in front of you know emphasis where the bible is two thousand years ago these things are still sitting there then it's a good handstand collection and so i got great handstand photos. And the weird thing is, I haven't worked out in a year because of my sickness. I couldn't breathe, so I couldn't work out for a year. But the Lord is answering everyone's prayers. And I was walking for three hours. And the first handstand, I leaned on something, because I haven't done it for a year. I leaned on something. And I moved my feet away. And I stuck it. And the second handstand, I stuck in. Wait, wait, wait. I'm sorry. We got to go to a break. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking to Victoria Jackson.

We're talking about our trip, the cruise to the Greek islands, to Ephesus, to Istanbul. So, Vicki, first of all, before you go on with the handstands, I just want to reiterate, what happened to you that the process.
Starting point is 00:12:30 person in the balcony next to yours on this vast, vast ship with 3,000 cabins, was praying for you. And then here's your voice and realizes they're right next to you. That's just unbelievable. I mean, the fact that they were praying for you and then you find out that God just does these things that are so, that's so beautiful. But so now you're talking about these hands. stands and people need to understand people you got to get the background you grew up your father was it was a gymnastics coach correct yes okay so you grew up doing all kinds of crazy stuff balance beam stuff
Starting point is 00:13:15 and headstands or handstands sorry no hand headstands easy handstand you have to balance Right. Okay, so handstands are, yes, of course, what am I saying? So handstands, and so now here you are in Greece, in Turkey, and you decide to try to do this because you're creating a book of you doing handstands. And you've done handstands on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. You've done handstands on Saturday Night Live. But now you're traveling the world. doing handstands. So here you were. You said that it was difficult for you because of your health. You have serious cancer. And that you hadn't done stage four. Yes. Doesn't get higher. So you, so you did one. Where were you when you did it? Was this an emphasis? I was in front. I was in, um, where was that mosque called Hagia Maria? Istanbul Turkey. No, no, no. Agia Sophia. Haga Sophia. Yes. Istanbul. Okay. So you're in Israel.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Istanbul and he tried to try to do a handstand, but leaning against the wall. Leaning against a pole. Okay, because he needed a little help, yeah. Well, so we could see the mosque in the background, which this mosque was built in 400 AD. Okay, I'm forgive me now. I have to, I have to slightly correct you. First of all, it's not a mosque. I guess today it's a mosque, but it was built in 5.5.
Starting point is 00:14:53 53 AD, completed in 553 AD, and for 900 years, nine centuries was the biggest church in the world. This is in Constantinople. When Constantinople fell to the Ottoman Turks, to the Muslim Turks, of course, it was no longer a church after that. But you're talking about it was the biggest building in the world for many years. I mean, it's an unbelievable thing that it's still there. It's just absolutely unbelievable. So you went in there and in front of it, you decide to do a handstand. So keep going.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Yes, so I'm leaning on the pole and I go, Paul, snap the shot when I push away from the pole. So it looks like I'm holding it. And Paul did a great job. He was like, click. And it looks like I was holding it. But I did kind of stick it. And then the next handstand we did, I did. did kind of stick it. My handstands got better and better. So I was actually, when we got to
Starting point is 00:15:56 London on our way home, I was doing them in front of Big Ben and where the queen lives, where are you, Buckingham Palace. I was doing handstands and sticking them because of our trip. I was like exercising in the sun. And so anyway, so I want to tell about my visit to the mosque, my first time in a mosque in the biggest. Okay, so 14 or 1,500 A.D. It became a mosque. And then it became a museum. Now, when it became a mosque, they plastered over all the pictures of Jesus.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Lots of beautiful murals of Jesus and Mary and everything. They plastered over them to make it a mosque. But then when it became a museum, people tried to scrape off the plaster. and they started ruining the murals, but some of them are still there. Because they're mosaics, so obviously because they're mosaics, it was possible to restore them. So I noticed that when I was there too, and that's the first time I've ever been in a mosque. But it was incredible to see these beautiful pictures of Jesus and Mary in this mosque. So here's the coolest thing.
Starting point is 00:17:14 The coolest thing is me and Paul, we were overwhelmed with the deep. of the ship and you have to have the card. Don't lose the card going in and off. Beep, beep, peep, peep, peep. Don't lose your ship car. You know, how do I work my Wi-Fi? Where's my suitcase? Like, there's so many details.
Starting point is 00:17:29 And we're old and we're crippled and Paul's getting a hip replacement in a week. And anyway, so we didn't make any excursion tours. We just got off the ship and winged it, which was exciting. Because, you know, we didn't know whose cab we were getting into. So anyway, we're in. front of the mosque and I'm like Paul I want to go in it I want to go in it and he's like Vicky Vicki Vicki it's Muslim I'm like yeah whatever you know wait a minute a Muslim mosque where's he getting this information from like he's a SWAT guy and he's more scared of everything than me
Starting point is 00:18:05 but I think that's because he's actually been in battle with human beings and I haven't I just use the airhead thing to get out of trouble right was actually been in warfare with machine guns so he's very hesitant and he's like vicky we don't have to go in it and i see this man next to me i go how do we get a tour and he goes you want the tour i go yeah i go how much is it a hundred i go okay take us like he's a stranger you know you you didn't make a counter offer and you call yourself a fan of donald trump vicky really no i thought a hundred was pretty good for going in a mosque and turkey for my first time. I'm like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So funny. You're so funny. So a man offers to give you a tour. Yeah. So he's Muslim, right? It comes out. So we go in, oh, he goes, you have to cover your head. I'm like, okay, you know, that's in the Bible.
Starting point is 00:19:02 People cover, women cover it. So I'm not doing it for Allah. So I cover my head. We go inside and the guards tells me to hide my cross. my cross necklace. The guard says, you know, and then our guy goes, he wants to hide your cross.
Starting point is 00:19:25 And I go, okay. And then our Muslim guy starts arguing with the guard that I should have the right to show my cross. So there's two different attitudes about this, you know? And our guy's going, and the guards going, and the guards go, If I close my eyes, I can hear the Turkish in what you just did.
Starting point is 00:19:48 So you mean to tell me that your guide, who you had bribed or paid handsomely, he didn't need to go to bat for you, but he goes to bat for you. And it's arguing and saying you should be able to display your cross. Yeah, but I just put in my shirt. I'm like, no big deal. Look, mecanos. Look at my suit. You just jump.
Starting point is 00:20:12 to mecanos. That's a beautiful. Show that again. That's a beautiful mug. Yeah, I don't know what the meaning of this symbol that's everywhere in Greece, this funny symbol. What's the meaning? It's called, it's called a Greek key design. And it doesn't really mean anything. But, you know, in ancient Greece, they had a number of geometric signs. And that's just a popular ones, the Greek key design. Okay, thank you. So anyway, we're on the second floor of the Hagia Sophia. And below, there's Muslims praying hunched over men and women separated. We heard the call, the Muslim call to prayer, which Obama quoted as the most beautiful sound he's ever heard. So any, but that's next to the sound of Michelle complaining about everything. That's the most beautiful sound he's ever heard. It's her complaints. Her nasal complaints. But yes, the call to prayer is the, he said that that's the most. Go ahead. Michelle Obama complains all the time and she has all the blessings the world can offer.
Starting point is 00:21:30 I wouldn't go that for. It's her love language complaining. Go ahead. Okay, so anyway, we're on the second floor now because this building is 2,000 years old, the floor is sloping and the pillar is crooked. And the guy goes, oh, there's very many earthquakes here. I'm like, oh, no, we can, I don't want to be in this building and an earthquake. I mean, I started to. It stood through 15 centuries so far pretty good, right? It's hanging by a thread. It was built by Greeks, by the way.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Oh, well, Greeks got to do something about Athens because Athens is a ghetto. Now, wait a minute. We're kind of skipping around. Do you want to finish? Was there something you were going to say about? Yes, I want to finish about the mosque that used to be a church with Jesus. So we're upstairs, and our fantastic tour guide shows us these beautiful murals of Jesus, popping through the walls of a mosque.
Starting point is 00:22:34 How meaningful is that that Jesus is popping through the walls of a mosque? Like, you can't stop me. I'm the king of kings. And then our guide says, you see that cloth, that just hanging in front of the picture of Jesus. The Muslims praying below don't want to see Jesus. Uh-oh. We're going to a break, folks. You're not going to any place.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Welcome back talking to Victoria Jackson. So Vicki, so we were together in Greece and Turkey. So you're talking about you're in the Agisophea Mosque. And you said that your Muslim guide was just telling you that that piece of cloth is hanging over a picture of Jesus because the Muslims while they're praying they don't want to see Jesus. Correct. They're down below praying. And if they look up, they would see Jesus. So there's a cloth that's hiding.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Now, why do they still have the pictures of Jesus? is popping through the walls because the tourists like us are paying money to see this. So they want to get the tourist money. But it actually makes no sense on another level because they claim to believe in Jesus and Mary, which of course is baloney because they don't believe Jesus is, you know, they they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah and the Lord and the Savior of the world who rose from that. They don't believe any of that stuff. So they claim to believe in him, but of course they don't.
Starting point is 00:24:04 But the fact that they want to cover him up, that's interesting because if they did believe in him on any level, why would they be offended by a picture of him? They claim to believe in him. Anyway, keep going. They call him Issa. They say he's a good prophet. Well, anyway. Yeah, pretty good profit. Pretty good.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Pretty good. So my takeaway was Jesus is bursting through the walls of a mosque saying, here I am. And then at the very end, we're leaving. And Paul has to go to the bathroom all the time because he's an old man. And they make you pay to go to the bathroom over there, like a dollar every time you have to go. And it's hard to find bathrooms. That was, but anyway, so Paul goes to the bathroom. And I have the Muslim guide alone.
Starting point is 00:24:48 And I go, I got a question. You know, the Quran, I have one. And it says in there, kill the infidel. And I go, how do you? What do you think about that? And our guide said, he said, thanks for reminding me and he beheaded you. No.
Starting point is 00:25:09 He said, oh, well, that means that defend your family, defend yourself, defend your country against the infidel, and there will be blood. It means defend yourself. I'm like, okay. So I've never asked a real Muslim how they interpret that. So that's fascinating. That's pretty interesting that you had the guts to ask him.
Starting point is 00:25:40 And then I want to show you, I found a handstand in Greece. I found a handstand knick-knack. It's a little sculpture. It looks like a Botero sculpture. I'm not terribly fond of Botero. But it's a heavy set woman doing a handstand and found it in Greece. On a chair. And you know what's weird?
Starting point is 00:26:07 I used to do handstands on chairs. And when I first met Johnny Crawford from the rifleman, I did a handstand on a chair just to show off to him. And it's actually easier than when both hands are down because you've got some control with the short arms, hard to explain. But I found this, and I was so excited. It was only $100. I also found a handstand statue that was a thousand, but it wasn't as cute and, you know, a thousand. But this was 100. And actually, this other lady wanted it.
Starting point is 00:26:41 And I said, oh, this is so meaningful to me. And she didn't have her hand on it. She was over there. And she recognized me. She's from America. She recognized you. Well, that's cool. Yeah, I did get recognized maybe twice.
Starting point is 00:27:01 And so, oh, here's the funny part. Every time we got in a taxi for my little documentary on filming called Victoria Jackson's International Farewell Tour, and I can't find an audience to say goodbye to. So every time we'd get in a taxi, I would turn on my cell phone and go, can I video you? And they go, oh, okay. And I go, have you ever heard of Saturday night? and they're like, no.
Starting point is 00:27:29 I go, do you have television here? And they're like, oh, yes, yes. And I go, do you recognize, do you know who weird Alliancovic is? They're like, no. And like, do you recognize me? No. The fact that you would bring up weird Al Yankovic, like, that's the weirdest thing ever, that of all the things that you could bring up, you would bring up that.
Starting point is 00:27:52 I know you were in a movie with him, but. Yeah, I was trying to think of somewhere. So this one guy, I go, what American actors do you know? He goes, Robert De Niro. I go, oh, yeah, Robert De Niro. He's good, yeah. And I said, do you know Sean Connery? And he's like, yes, Sean Poverry, Yaha, 007.
Starting point is 00:28:13 And I'm thinking, I was in a movie with Sean Connery. You were in a movie with Sean Connery? Yes, I think I've told you that story. Well, you certainly, I mean, you probably did, but doesn't mean I remember. What's the movie? It's called Family Business and Dustin Hoffman was in it too. And I was in a scene with Dustin and Sean. You know what?
Starting point is 00:28:33 You did tell me. That's right. You've told that story on the program. Anyway, the trip was so fun on so many levels. But then we got to hear Eric talk about his books. And I loved that because number one, I mean, it wouldn't have been as fun of a cruise if it was just a cruise. but the fact that we would get together for an hour and a half talk about things about the Lord. I hate to say the Lord because unsaid people don't get that.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Jesus. And like Eric is fun to listen to. Like he could talk about anything and it's so fun to listen to him. But he's talking about his books and I'm like, oh, good. Now I don't have to read them. Because I bought them. I bought them. But some of them are very thick.
Starting point is 00:29:22 And I would rather listen to you tell the story. Well, you can listen to me, read the books. Most of my books, I do the audio book. But I'll tell you, Vicki, there's stuff in these books. This was one of the frustrations on the cruise, which were going to change it in the future. I didn't have enough time to really tell the full story. I had to leave out, like, you know, 75% of what I wanted to talk about. And there's stuff in every one of these books that I think this really would bless people to hear it.
Starting point is 00:29:49 But we just didn't have the time. So, but I'm glad, you know, that you were, are we at a time? I think we're at a time. We'll be right back. Welcome back talking to Victoria Jackson. We were together on this tremendous cruise to the Greek islands and Ephesus and Istanbul. And, Vicki, I just want to say that one of the weird things about a trip like this for me is a number of friends were there like you. and I didn't get to spend that much time.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Like I was hoping we'd get more time. But we got some time, we had dinner together. And my favorite part of the dinner, apart from your stories, which is my favorite part of the dinner, was when Paul, your husband, asked for hot sauce. Do you not, do you don't remember this? Well, he always asked for a hot sauce.
Starting point is 00:31:01 But it was like, it was like, what did he order? It was like some fancy steak or something like that. Or what, what? No. Like a $1,000 steak. It was some fancy thing. And he ordered, he asked for hot sauce. I was like, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Is he joking? It's like, no. He wasn't joking. Hot sauce isn't as bad as asking for ketchup. ketchup that would be like, I'd be embarrassed. Hot sauce, I was like, way to rock it, Mr. American. But I just thought that was so funny. It's like this really fancy meal, but he had to have his hot sauce.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Oh, yeah. He has a lot of funny quirks, but I can't, I can't make fun of him because, like, He's in great shape. I mean, like... Oh, no, he's awesome. You know how much I love Paul. Listen, you wanted to tell a story. I'm interrupting here by bringing up the hot sauce.
Starting point is 00:31:45 You, on the way home, you went to London and what happened? We were in Istanbul and a strange man behind the cashier said to Paul, you bodybuilder? You bodybuilder? I mean, Paul gets compliments on his physique everywhere we go. So I can't make fun of his diet, which is hilarious. if you actually knew it. Very healthy. I work out, but I don't wear tight t-shirts where people might recognize that.
Starting point is 00:32:14 So maybe I should dress like Paul and use more hot sauce. Okay, but wait, what happened in London? Okay, so we're in London, and this guy is a street preacher, and I'm looking for a comedy club because I want to film myself in another country doing stand-up. And I ended up getting a... The lady said to me, well, you have to audition first. can you send us an audition tape? No, she said, oh, well, you've got to send an audition tape first, you know, and I go, well, can I just, I'm on the internet all over doing standard.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Can I just send you my website? So after I send them my website, she's, she goes, okay, 820. We've got a slot for you. You can do five minutes at 8.20. Okay, so we're in this comedy club. It's hilarious. the people before me were a self-described autistic gay guy, a tranny who hates Trump, and a pedophilia guy.
Starting point is 00:33:13 He talked about pedoph, no, not pedophilia, beastiality. He talked about bestiality for 10 minutes. And then I came on stage. And Paul's like, I go, Paul, hold the video camera. I'll push the button. And Paul's like, thinking, you're sure you want to do this? Are you sure you want to do this? I'm like, yes, Paul, they need a little G.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Jesus in this room. Anyway, we had so many fun moments like that. And I had to win them over. They didn't know what to make of me. They didn't recognize me. It was very funny. But anyway, so we see this guy on the street. And he's in a robe and he has a cardboard sign and he has a picture. You just got 30 seconds. Go. Sorry. Go. Oh, I, well, he said that all of the black people are Israel and the white people are going to be their slaves. That's his message. They used to have guys like this in Times Square, yeah. I showed him John 316 in his own Bible.
Starting point is 00:34:13 And he videoed the whole thing. My camera died. But basically I told him the gospel. And I said, well, if I'm going to be a slave, then I hope I'm a good one. And I was thinking of Ephesians 6. I told him the Bible's not about slavery and revenge and everything, but I told, Ephesians 6 says, if you're born a slave, be the best you can for the Lord's glory.
Starting point is 00:34:43 I'm so glad we ended it on that note. Vicki, we love you. Talk to you soon. Okay. Hey there, folks. You're listening to my conversation with Victoria Jackson, but I'm in London, and I wanted to say, that we got, we somehow wheedled, cajoled, coaxed Victoria into talking with us for another 10 minutes. So I'm going to play that in a couple of seconds because I just can't get enough of Victoria Jackson. She's so much fun.
Starting point is 00:35:14 So we've got another segment with Victoria coming up. And then after that, I think I'd like us to replay my conversation from yesterday with Dr. Hormoz-Sheriot, who's with Iran alive, ministries just because this is so urgent right now. In any case, I wanted to to mention that. I also want to mention some basic stuff, really, really basic stuff. Like what? Like, are you signed up for my newsletter? Twice a week, folks. We send out a newsletter. If you go to ericmetaxis.com, maybe you have to do something where you text something because so many people prefer to text. But right now, if you go to Ericmataxis.com, sign up for the newsletter because there is so much. I'm not exaggerating. There is so much. Most of these interviews are there on
Starting point is 00:36:12 video. You can see what we're wearing, not that you want to. But I just want to say, ericmetaxis.com, if you're not signed up for the newsletter, you're just missing a lot that we just don't have time to get into on the program. I also want to remind you of Socrates in the city. We are putting up more and more content. So go to Socrates in the city.com and sign up for that. We have stuff that we don't even mention on the program. We don't have time. But we're doing a lot more interviews, Socrates in the city interviews. So we want you to go to Socrates in the city.com. I also want to mention our friend Mike Lindell, my friend Mike Lindell. If you want to support him, He's an American hero.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Anything you buy from Mypillow.com, please use the code Eric. Mypillow.com. Best towels. I don't make this up, folks. They're the best towels. Mypillow.com. You want great towels that actually work the way towels are supposed to. Mypillow.com.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Use the code Eric. Also, since I'm mentioning Mike Lindell, MyStore.com, those are the best prices. for most of my books, including my children's books, the birthday ABC, Uncle Mugsy, my store.com, use the code, Eric. Okay, we'll be back in a moment with Victoria Jackson. Don't go away. I tell you, chum, it's time to come blow your horn.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Make like a Mr. Mumbles and you're a zero. Hey there, folks. Welcome back. Some of you know that one of our friends on the program is the Herzog Foundation. And we have Chris Stegal with Herzog on right now. Chris, I just wanted to get a few minutes from you to give us an update on what Herzog is up to because a lot of people aren't aware of what it is that the Herzog
Starting point is 00:38:26 Foundation does. I thought since you're here, let's tell them. Yeah, I think it's twofold, Eric, and I'm so grateful for your friendship, your partnership and amplifying what our late great founder, Stan Herzog, was all about. And that was expanding and growing, becoming a catalyst, for Christian education. He believed in it. And so the Herzog Foundation was ostensibly created to help existing Christian schools gird themselves. You know, it's one thing to start a Christian school, but to keep it going, 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, that's tough. That means you've got to have standards,
Starting point is 00:39:01 you've got to have boards, you've got to have administrative things in place, curriculums in place that keep that biblical standard intact. And the Herzlund Foundation, trainings that we offer all across the country are free of charge to people who are interested in taking various trainings along those lines lots of different subjects we offer over a hundred a year all over the country and if you're able to get to them the only ask that we make of you is that you apply for the trainings and then if you are accepted by the application you travel to the trainings we put you up we feed you we cover the trainings and the whole thing all you got to do is pay to get there and the rest of it's on us
Starting point is 00:39:42 So that's part of it. The other half of it, of course, is if you'd like to start your own Christian school, or maybe it's just on your heart to homeschool or start a microschool or a pod school, we plug you in with mentors and resources, eight steps right there on our website at HerzogFoundation.com where you can learn to do those things on your own. If you wonder, where do I start, we tell you where to start, HerzogFoundation.com. And I know I've said this many times, but I've traveled around the country for years, and everywhere I go, I bump into homeschoolers and their parents.
Starting point is 00:40:15 And I think without exception, they are some of the most socially mature, generally mature, well-informed, well-educated young people that I've ever met. And I find this fascinating because it's to a point where I keep saying homeschoolers are going to take over the world. Like the world is not prepared for what has been happening, what has been brewing silently, because the mainstream media doesn't ever discuss homeschool. That doesn't exist in their secular leftist world. Home schoolers are just magnificently prepared to do all kinds of things, to run stuff. I mean, in a meritocracy, it's game over. And so I think that anybody who isn't familiar with homeschool, I can't tell you how many people come up to me and say, oh, in my homeschool class, I read your book seven men, I read your book seven women, I read your book, If You Can Keep It, I read your Bonhoffer book. In homeschool, I thought, these kids are way ahead of your average kid in America. And so it's really important for people to understand that this is a phenomenon. Now, some people are well aware of this, but there are a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:41:37 people, they have no clue. It is, it is amazing, folks. And that's why I keep saying the Herzog Foundation is a place to kind of acquaint yourself. HertzogFoundation.com is the website. And read lion, is it dot com or dot org? Dot com. Yeah. I'm sorry. Read Lion, R-A-D-L-I-O-N, readlion.com. There are all kinds of resources. This is a world. If you're a parent, this is just, it's a, it's a wonderful thing. We will be an amazing country if we get education right. And homeschooling to me, it's the best of the best. And there's all kinds of options available that weren't available 10 and 20 years ago to make it easy, convenient, to make it possible for people for whom it wouldn't have been possible because they're too busy.
Starting point is 00:42:24 So there's all kinds of stuff. So folks, go to Pritzog Foundation.com. We're not blowing smoke here. It's a great thing. Hurtsock Foundation.com. Chris DeGal, thank you. Eric, thanks for your friendship. Appreciate you, as always.
