Right now, I have a particularly special guest.
Words cannot do justice to the importance of what we're going to talk about today.
I am not speaking hyperbolicly.
I'm speaking with dead seriousness.
Most of you listening will be ignorant of the Chinese.
of the Chinese cultural revolution,
one of the most demonic things
that happened in the history of the world,
which is a pretty evil place.
But what happened in the middle of the 20th century,
some of it during my lifetime,
unbelievably evil,
and we rarely hear about it.
We hear about the Nazis.
We hear about the Gulag Archipabre
Pelago. But what happened in Mao's China is so evil. And to be able to speak to somebody who lived
through it is a great privilege of my life. I have as my guest, the author of a brand new book.
I hope you'll get it. It's called Mao's America, a survivor's warning. The author,
Shee Van Fleet, welcome to this program. Thank you so much for having me.
I was just saying so many Americans don't know anything about the Chinese cultural revolution.
One of the most evil things.
Whenever I read anything about it, I'm deeply disturbed.
It's horrifying.
You lived through it.
So tell my audience so they can get a picture of what we're talking about.
Because what I often say is Americans don't understand how bad things can get.
They have no idea how evil, how sick things can be.
And when you look at what happened in the Chinese cultural revolution,
just like when you look to happen in the death camps in Germany, you get a picture.
But most America is like, well, that can't happen here.
But let's talk.
I know we're going to talk about that because that's what your book is about.
But tell my audience what your experience was and what is the Chinese cultural revolution
because this is the foundation of our conversation.
Yes.
And it's a big question.
And in order for me to make sense, I have to go back further.
I have to go back to 1949 when the CCP took over.
China. And how did they
took over China?
It's by the
classic Marxist
revolution. It's a revolution
using military might.
It's a military insurrection
to overthrow a
setting government. And they successfully
did it. They
overthrew the nationalist government
and kicked them out of mainland
China to Taiwan. So
that was the first revolution.
So 17 years,
years later, Mao launched another revolution. This time he called the Chinese culture revolution.
And interestingly, this revolution was also aimed at overthrow accepting government. Only this
time it is his own government and his own party. He aimed at overthrow the CCP bureaucrats,
The CCP, actually, the party, because he felt that he was losing control of it.
And he's the loosened control of the absolute power that he believed he deserved.
So this time, he did not use military.
He did not use an army.
But he had a better army.
And this time, he used tens of millions of indoctrinated youth, the Red Guard.
Okay, listen.
Again, we have to, I want to spell this out.
I don't want anybody to miss this.
First of all, folks, we're talking about communism, which is evil.
So the 1949 revolution in China, where the Communist Party takes over, it was military, it was evil.
What Mao did in the cultural revolution was in many ways more evil because it's so sickening,
it's difficult for me to talk about.
But the way he used the youth to condemn their parents.
it is so difficult to realize that this happened.
But the reason you wrote your book, Chi,
which is called Mao's America,
a survivor's warning,
is because you're seeing similar things now.
So tell us again, let's go back.
You live through the cultural revolution.
Talk about what you saw.
Yes.
Again, the revolution, the cultural revolution in China
was a youth revolution.
And so the whole revolution was carried out by young people.
As young as elementary school kids or college students.
So what they do, what they did is to overthrow anyone in authority.
So like anyone that have a role of authority,
because all those has to be replaced because those are corrupt according to Mao,
they need to be replaced by radical revolutionaries.
So who they went target first?
For students, that's your teachers.
That's your principals.
So they first, when they started to rebel, encouraged by Mao,
they went after their teachers and they went off their principals.
So the first killing that took place in the Cultural Revolution
was done by a group of young girls in the middle school.
As young as 12, as old as 16.
They beat the, they put their principle in a struggle session, humiliated her, beat her, tortured her, and killed her.
And nothing, no consequence.
Okay.
Now, again, I just, I have to say, when we think about evil, there are levels of evil.
It's one thing for a grown man in the military to use a.
gun and to have in a war we have killing. When we're talking about civilians, when we're talking
about young women, girls, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, murdering their own teacher, but first,
humiliating, torturing, this is a level of evil. And again, I don't, there's no other word to
describe it. It's so deeply sick. It's so antithetical to.
God's order. And this happened in your lifetime. You were there. What year was the cultural
revolution launched in China? 1960. And it lasted for 10 years until most deaths in 1976.
I was the first grader. I was too young to join the Red Guard. I was only seven.
But I witnessed in my elementary school the kids, little kids, went after the principals and went after teachers.
I did not witness beating, but I witnessed humiliation.
The surrounded teacher that they condemned as bourgeois because she liked to look pretty and surrounded her,
called her names, eventually spit on her, and she was covered by spit from head to toe.
and the others have to take to a public trial called struggle session.
First of all, you have to explain.
Most people don't know what is a struggle session.
Yeah, I witnessed the struggle session for the governor of my province,
Sichuan province.
And eventually, the number one victim of Mao's Cultural Revolution
was the number two guy of CCP, President of China, Liu Shao Qi.
He was struggled against, purged, exiled, and died in the miserable, lonely death,
and denied of medical treatment.
So that was the cultural revolution.
We're going to go to a break here, but folks, I just cannot possibly
overstate the importance of us understanding what has.
happened during the cultural revolution in China, to have a survivor of that on the program
to warn us that these things are happening now. The name of the book is Mao's America,
a survivor's warning. We'll be right back with the author Xi Van Fleet. Folks, right now in other
parts of the world, people's lives are being threatened simply for believing in Jesus. People
have been enslaved for their faith. So listeners to this show know that I'm passionate about the work
of Christian Solidarity International because they protect and free those who are being persecuted
and enslaved for their Christian faith. I've got to thank you for your life-changing generosity
for years now. If you've given a CSI through this program, you have played a role in freeing
literally thousands of captives. So as we near the end of this year, can I ask you to give once again

warning, the author, She Van Fleet. Now, she, your first name is spelled XI, pronounced she
Van Fleet does not strike me as particularly Chinese.
How did you get Van Fleet as a surname?
I married one.
And Van Fleet, there is a story behind Van Fleet.
There is a general James Van Fleet, and he was a anti-communist fighter.
And I'm so glad to have his name.
Wow, I didn't know that.
Okay.
He fought in grace.
I know you are of grace.
Wait, in Greece?
In Greece. He fought against the communists there, and he fought against the communist in Korea.
His name is well-known in South Korea.
I didn't know that.
I mean, my father was in Greece in the 40s after World War II when the communists tried to take over there,
and it's why my father raised me to hate communism.
But it's interesting that your surname has a connection to that part of the world as well.
Well, we're talking about communism.
We're talking about Chinese communism.
And we're talking about the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
And I want to say, again, there's something so demonic about what happened during the Chinese Cultural Revolution to have children condemning adults, condemning old people.
It's so evil.
And you saw this.
How did your family deal with this at the time?
Because communism is bad enough, but the Cultural Revolution was even worse.
Yeah.
people ask me that question.
What did your parents tell you and what did you discuss at home?
Nothing.
Nothing.
Why?
Because parents are afraid of the kids.
Because as young kids, we were taught from the very, very beginning from kindergarten
that our real parents was the party.
Our real father was Chairman Mao.
So if there's any conflict to make a choice between your parents or the party,
you always choose the party.
And that so many things happened
during the Cultural Revolution
that the parents, the children reported
on their parents, and many parents
ended up in prison, some
ended up being executed.
So there's no conversation.
There's no conversation at home, and I've
never heard my parents talk about
politics, and I have no idea
where they stand, and
because there's no trust.
No trust even in
the family. That's how
communists manage to destroy the nuclear family.
Well, and we're going to get to how they're trying to do that today in America.
But I still want your story since we have the time.
The idea of children reporting on their parents,
this is the most evil thing possible,
the people that have loved you and nurtured you and raised you and would die for you,
that you would have the state would turn those children against their parents,
Again, this is satanic evil.
This is not just, oh, it's an interesting idea.
It's really an evil thing.
When you live through this, were you eventually caught up in it at any point?
Or did you always, were you always at some removed from it?
How did it happen in your life?
I think this is something that people need to know.
And there are a lot of people that written their memoirs.
and describe themselves as sane.
I think it's true, some,
but I think most went insane.
The only thing you want to do,
you don't question,
because question is so dangerous,
question can cost you life.
So all you want to do is in the survival mode.
You want to make sure you're lined up in the right,
with the right group,
and you don't see anything that might be dangerous,
or might be wrong, or you don't say anything.
But you can't just not say anything because silence is violence.
So you have to show in enthusiasm.
So it is very, very difficult for a lot of people.
They want to make sure they are with the right camp.
And what's the camp?
They were fighting between the Red Guards and then there are camps.
The camps is not one was against Mao, another support.
They all support Mao.
And one said they have the right understanding of Mao's principle.
The other said they had the correct understanding.
So all those are the things that they're fighting.
And if you are not choosing carefully, you end up really in trouble.
So you saw much of this with your own eyes.
You lived through this.
I just want to be clear.
Yes, yes.
Okay.
As soon as the Cultural Revolution started in 1966, school closed.
because the teachers and the principals were outstered.
So my school closed for two years.
Some other schools closed as long as four years.
So what did we do?
I have nothing to do.
My parents, everybody's parents were caught up in the struggle
and cultural revolution in their own workplace.
So we're free to go, go to streets.
And every day we saw something.
We saw people being paraded on the streets,
being denounced and a struggle session everywhere,
and then the red guards would have this propaganda trucks everywhere,
propaganda truck with the loud speaker, so loud that is deafening.
And that was the fun part of the early part of the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
Eventually, it became violent.
Eventually, the Red Guard started to fight against each other
and to, because they already, by then, they already took down the power from the authorities.
And they thought it's time for them to share power.
No, no, no, no.
Ma had the other plan.
Mao suppressed them, use the military, and sent the rest to the countryside.
So Red Guards as a movement ended somewhere in 1969.
They're all gone.
Their job was down.
The useful, idiot, no longer useful.
They become a problem in the city.
So they're all sent down to the countryside, to the remote area to be reeducated by the pests.
The only thing that I can compare this to is North Korea.
In other words, there's nothing in history that I can think of where you have a level of mind control, propaganda, really.
again, evil.
Even when I think of the Soviet Union can come close when we talk about the Gulag archipelago and Solzhenitsyn, what he saw, to some extent, the Nazis.
But to have children reporting on their parents, to have people paraded through the streets, humiliated.
I've simply never read anything like it, about anything like it as what happened during the Cultural Revolution in China.
And the reason you wrote your book, to get to the main point, really, your book is called Mao's America, a survivor's warning.
You, having lived through this, are saying that you see this happening now.
So let's talk about that.
Yes.
the reason that I wrote this book, the reason I decided to really speak up.
And it takes a lot of courage because I was so afraid of speaking up.
And especially in 2021 and 2020, we saw so many conservatives as being targeted and attacked.
But I just have to, I have to, because this is history repeating.
And it's barely in 2020, that to me there's no mistake.
It was a full-blown Marxist revolution that's taking place right here in America.
Okay, that's a big statement.
I agree with you, but I can see that there are many people that they're not quite getting it yet, that they're thinking, well, I think you're exaggerating.
I have never seen anything like it in my own life, what happened in the last few years.
I mean, the idea that this program was on YouTube, we were getting, we had 220,000.
and subscribers. It was really growing. YouTube wiped it out. And I thought to myself,
this is amazing in America. The program that I was doing, I was not doing a program that was
like trying to poke my finger in the eyes of authorities. I would have on guests and we would
discuss things. And I thought that's when you realize this is real. They are not allowing
dissenting opinions. And we're living in America. So people are being canceled. Other
things happen to me. I won't get into it. But the point is that what you saw happening,
you immediately recognized it as this has happened before. This happened in China when I was a girl.
Yes. Before, you know, there was a disagreement between the Democrats and Republicans. And so,
and it's kind of normal. They were fight. They're fight over issues. But mostly in the past,
supposedly, they're fighting over issues of how to deal what's the best way to solve problems,
and they both want to make America better.
They want to really help people.
Not anymore.
Not anymore.
Why I say it's the culture of Marxist revolution?
Because the goal has changed.
The goal is to destroy America.
And so in 2020, that's so clear.
they're going to destroy the system.
What is the system?
What is the system?
That's America.
So it absolutely has changed.
Okay, I want to, we're going to go to a break, but I want to reiterate what you're saying
is true, but it's hard for many of us to process.
For me, it took a while for me to understand they are actually trying to destroy America.
They're trying to destroy the nuclear family.
Hard to believe that that's happening, but we need to understand that's what's happening.
We'll be right back.

I'm often asked that question just the other night. I was asked that question.
Well, the owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal.
That's right, designed to heal. And I agree with them. And the doctors who formulated Relief Factor for them selected the four best ingredients.
Yes, 100% drug-free ingredients. And each one of them helps your body deal with inflammation.
Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway.
That's the point.

relief to find out about this offer. Feel the difference. Welcome back talking to Shee Van Fleet.
She is spelled X-I. She van Fleet. The book is Mao's America, Survivor's Warning. So you were just
saying, Xi, that the goal, you saw this happening in 2020, 2021. You recognized immediately.
This is cultural Marxism, as you saw in your childhood, in China. These are people doing something
we have not seen ever in America, wanting to burn down the system, to upend the family,
to destroy everything that's good about America. This is their actual goal, not to make America
better, but actually to destroy the America we know. Yeah, that's exactly what happened during
the cultural revolution. Mao mobilized the young people to do one thing, to destroy everything
in the past, everything that's traditional, everything that is.
Chinese, basically.
And it's called four olds, old idea, old culture, old habits, old custom.
That is the Chinese civilization.
All have to be destroyed.
And how did they go about it?
They dismantled statues.
And then they changed their names, any names of institution, names of streets that is traditional.
That is not revolutionary.
has to be changed, even personal names.
And then they have to...
Okay, the other thing is very, very important for people to understand.
The cultural revolution is really a mass revolution of people against each other,
people hating each other so much that they're willing to kill each other.
And in the...
Under communism, the communist regime killed.
a lot of people. They killed a lot of what they called counter-revolutionaries. And they
starved a lot of people. During the three-year famine in China, from 1959 to 1961, up to 50 million
peasants were starved to death. 50 million. The world had no idea. But more than that,
a lot of people died under communism, not by the government.
government, but by killing each other, the masses, killing each other. So that is the division
that the communist depend on during a cultural revolution. So seemingly normal kids can turn
into killers, kill their teachers, kill their principals, kill their neighbors, kill anyone
themed as enemy of the state. And that is what I say goes.
on today. They want to destroy the system called the racist, called the white supremacy.
Anything that's traditional, anything that's America has to be destroyed. And then they use,
the youth, the indoctrinated youth, and they sit them against each other. The hatred of each other
in America is, I've been here 30 some years. I've never seen the hatred that people had with
each other because they're on the wrong side of the camps.
Well, this is the whole thing is people, you know, when you talk about, again, I just want to
spell it out.
When we're talking about cultural Marxism, we have to say, Marxism is atheistic.
Atheism is anti-God.
It's not neutral.
It's not secular.
It is anti-God.
It hates God and it hates all of God's values.
So everything that proceeds from belief in the God of the Bible is the enemy.
So the family, the sanctity of a man and a woman being together in marriage, everything that parents love for their children, all of these things are the enemies of people who are cultural Marxists.
And so you see this through history, you see this in the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
You're seeing it in America today where we have teachers saying that we want to protect the children from their parents.
Parents. This is, it's so offensive to me as a father, so offensive. It's so un-American. It's so,
it's against God's idea of parents loving their children being the first level of protection of the children.
But that's what you saw with your own eyes in the Chinese Cultural Revolution. And as you say,
you're now seeing it in America. Yes. And that's clearly stated in the Communist manifesto. They want to
abolish private property, they want to abolish religion, and they want to abolish family.
And that's exactly what they did. But the problem is that a lot of people still consider
communist an economic system, an economic system of equity, of redistribution of wealth.
That is true. But more than that, communism is a religion. It's absolute religion. They had to
replace anything, traditional faiths.
It has to destroy every one of them in order for it to be the dominant religion of the country.
And that's what happened from day one.
And then those kids took them 17 years to create a generation, from 1949 to 96,
a generation of monsters, really monsters.
They have no idea of traditional culture.
They have no idea of any religious or face-faced education.
They only know one thing, that the party is their parent and their mission.
And that we have songs.
And I still saying that's still being sung in China, that we are the successors of communism.
So that's our goal.
And so if anyone's in the way, including parents, you get rid of them.
Well, again, we want to be clear, because we don't have that much time.
Let's be clear.
This is demonic.
I'm not speaking metaphorically.
This is a satanic religion on every level.
We need to understand it because it has come to us and we have to fight against it
or be a part of making it happen by doing nothing.
We'll be right back.

Welcome back talking to She Van Fleet, who's the author of Mous, America.
a survivor's warning.
So let's keep going,
because the parallels to what's happening today
are astonishing to me,
and you've written about it in your book.
Yes, that is all I did in my book is parallels.
Really help people to understand what's going on today in America.
It's nothing new.
It's nothing new.
It happened.
It happened to me and it happened not that long ago,
50 some years ago.
Same thing is going on in America.
Cancer culture.
Cancer culture is the same as Miles' destruction of the 4-0, the same thing.
Everything that is good, everything that is American is now considered racist, white supremacy, and they need to be destroyed.
And also, we see the indoctrination, the level of indoctrination of our kids is astonishing.
We are to the dangerous point that these kids can.
And it won't take that much for them to turn into the real red guards and start to kill.
And we saw the video in New York, I think it's called the Hill-Christ High School,
that the students try to attack a teacher found to participate in the pro-Israel rally.
And they were, and then the teacher was hiding in the locker room.
the crowd, a mob of students, try to get her out.
And I tweeted, this way in the dangerous point.
And these kids can easily, easily turn into killers.
There's no doubt about that.
And what's interesting to me, again, is that as we break this down,
we have to be very clear.
And I think I write about this in my next book coming out in the spring.
but when you're dealing with a religion that is anti-God,
the God of the Bible is the God of truth and reality.
So the opposite of that has literally no principles,
just worships power.
It's deeply satanic.
It's just the worship of power.
And anything, anything that's good or beautiful or true is the enemy.
And so I say this because it can shape-shift.
It doesn't matter what the issue is.
Now, of course, it's the Palestinians and Israel and whatever.
It can be transgender.
It really doesn't matter.
These are just things that, in a sense, are incidental to the larger issue.
So it's like there's like a demonic spirit behind these mobs.
And it really almost doesn't matter what the issue is.
they will pick an issue depending on where we are.
The saying, I use that saying almost every day in my tweet.
The issues, the issue is never the issue.
The issue is always the revolution.
Yeah, that's right.
And so right now we're seeing it manifested suddenly with these, you know,
pro-Hamas or pro-Palestinian, whatever.
And again, we have to be clear.
Many of them are deluded, many of these members of these mobs.
eluded somehow into thinking what they're doing is right and just or whatever. They're not aware,
usually, that they're proponents of evil. They have been brainwashed. So we have to be clear that
they have been brainwashed. When you know facts and you're thinking logically, you can't be
pulled in this direction. So what we have been doing in this country, and you mentioned it happened
starting in 1949 in China, you have to make people ignorant so that they are able to be manipulated.
And that's kind of what has been happening in America over the decades I've watched it with my own eyes.
Exactly.
Communism can only survive on ignorance, on keeping the population and ignorant.
And for based on exactly, they depend on mind control.
So I people ask me, you know, you asked me too, that did I question during a cultural revolution?
Is this okay?
Is this right?
No, I never questioned.
And because I could not question, I never developed the ability to think independently.
All I could do is follow whatever the party told me and whatever Mao told me.
And that's what's going on in today's America.
The students, they were not, never taught how to think, what to think.
They don't think.
They just sponsor, they just sponsor to the trigger words.
And off they go to the street and demonstrate.
They don't, most of the people have no idea where Palestine is, where Israel is probably, they could not find it on the map.
But no matter, because that's what they were told, that Israel is the oppressor, the other is the oppressed.
So that's, that's it. That's it. No thinking necessary.
So I want, we have some time. We'll have you in hour two as well.
but I want to understand your story.
When did you, you know, wake up from this fever dream?
When did you leave China?
Can you talk about that?
Yes.
Yeah, I left China when it was 26.
I got to America in 1986.
And so when I left China, I thought I left communism behind me.
And I think I come to America, there's nothing for me to worry about.
America, what can go wrong?
The freedom is just there.
This is the country of freedom.
So I made the mistake that many, many immigrants or many conservatives made.
I did not pay enough attention.
And I was just building and working on my American dream,
trying to get a good job and get a house and car and all this stuff
and raised a family and all that.
But I started to notice things here and there.
And especially in the past 10, 15 years,
I noticed something so similar to what I saw in China, the control of thoughts that there is a political correctness.
You can only say this, not that.
And if you say something that's disagreeable, you're called names.
And in China, you will be called counter-revolutionary.
Here you'll be called racist.
No matter what race you are, you can be called racist.
I was called racist.
So I start to think this is not right.
But of course, I already said 2020 was the turning point that I realized that communism is here.
It's not here.
It has taken roots and become mainstream.
And I have to get out and speak out because I think I do have something that very valuable.
I'm talking about communism, not because I read something, not because I take a course.
I talk about communism based on my so-called lived experience.
And I do think people pay more attention.
And because of that, I have the credentials.
You got the credentials to speak about this.
We'll be back in hour two with Xi Van Fleet.
The book is Mao's America.
Folks, welcome the show.
You know at this time of year, we partner with CSI, Christian Solidarity,
International to actually free slaves in Sudan. Todd Chapman is with us to talk about. And Todd,
you were saying off the air about the timing with Israel right now. Yeah, I just think I was thinking
about this this morning as I was watching the news. I think all of our eyes have been fixed these
recent days on the war that's happening between Israel and Hamas, but also these, you know,
what was going to happen with all of these hostages with these captives.
And thankfully, in the past few days, we've seen some of them begin to be freed.
And I couldn't help Eric, but think that, you know what, there are freedoms of people
that have been enslaved for decades now happening every year.
And I'm not minimizing.
I'm celebrating actually what's happening in Hamas right now.
But by the very token that we're rejoicing that these women and these captives have been set
free, we also want to remind you that you have.
an opportunity to participate in freeing people that have been captive for 20, 30 years now
in North Sudan. And that's what CSI does every year. So I just think the timing of this is really
great. But it was not lost on me that while, you know, the Hamas situation is getting all of
this newsplay, tens of thousands of slaves are freed nearly every year by Christians in another
part of the world. And the freedom on both sides is just equally as beautiful. But I just thought
that was a good reminder that what we're doing here is absolutely significant. And even though it may not
be played out of the mainstream media, God sees what his children are doing. And God rejoices and he fuels us and
funds us to do this work. And so just wanted to offer that as a kind of a different camera angle on what
we're inviting our listeners to do today. That's a good way of putting it. And I have to say, you know,
the older you get, the more you realize the mainstream media is a joke. Like they cover what they cover.
and there's just an infinity of stuff that they don't cover.
They don't cover this.
This could be in the news every single day.
There are people enslaved for years and years and years.
Today, in 2023, there are slaves today.
And you think the whole world would be talking about what can we do to get them out.
This is insane.
We can't let this happen in this day and age.
Is there anything we can do about it?
Not a peep.
Obviously, on this program, we talk about it because we know about it.
you know about these things. I hope you talk about them. But I want to encourage my audience.
Tell your friends about this. People are thinking, well, you know what? What do I give for Christmas?
What do I do? Let me tell you, folks, when you realize that $250 can free a human being from slavery in Sudan, this is a reality.
They're living this right now while we're talking on this program, while you're going about your life, they are living in slavery.
hard for us to believe, but it's true.
And we're here to tell you that you can do something about it.
So I want to remind you, if you go to metaxis talk.com, you can give, there's a banner right at the top of the page, the CSI banner, Christian Solidarity International, right at the top of the page.
And you can give, or you can call 888-253-3522.
to 888-253-3522.
And I want to encourage you folks,
you know, speaking about the mainstream media,
we are the media.
You can take this clip,
this, we put this stuff on Rumble,
we will put this on social media.
You can send this to your friends.
You can tell your friends about this program.
Send these programs to your friends.
Tell them, this is a great Christmas gift.
or just send them the link to metaxis talk.com and say, have you seen this for $250?
This would be really meaningful for your church to get involved in.
There are human beings waiting for us to do something about it, or they're waiting for God to move on the hearts of those who profess faith in him to do something about this.
You can be that person.
I would dare say it's God's will that we be those people.
So you can call 888-253-3522 or just go to Metaxus.
Talk.com. Metaxustalk.com. You'll see the information right there. God bless you as you give.
