Hey friends, first off, thank you so much for listening to the show. Your support means the world to us,
and we really do just want to thank you. You all make this possible. It's such a blessing and a gift
not only to produce the show, but to see the incredible impact it's having on people. We hope
you've enjoyed these last few dramatic episodes, and the good news is there are even more on the way,
just like you hear in your favorite infomercial. But wait, there's more. As I've shared, we do them in
batches, but don't worry, in the interim, we still have lots of incredible content coming,
including interviews with other exorcists, psychologists who deal in the realm of spiritual warfare,
firsthand accounts, and even a friend who's prayed for physical healings and seen some incredible results.
All this awaits and more.
But for now, start your grin in and stop your sin in.
It's time for part two of a family affair.
Enjoy.
No.
Welcome back to the Exorcist Files, the dramatic exorcism stories that points to the ultimate glory.
I'm your co-host Ryan Bethay, and we bring you part two today of A Family Affair,
where we last left you, a practicing Bruha, Alejandra, enraged at her daughter's departure
from the family's spiritual business into Christianity, begins to double down on her occult
connections to try and force her daughter back into the fold, cursing everything and everyone
in her path.
As a reminder, this show is not for everyone, just podcast listeners with exceptional taste.
Listener discretion is always advised.
Now, let's bring on the pastor who reminds demons who is their master, Jesus, of course.
Let's welcome Father Carlos Martins.
After the phone call with Valentina, Alejandra ramped up her efforts against the rival witches and her daughter's friends.
She was in a near constant rage and could scarcely think of anything but launching a full-out attack.
While Alejandra had no direct proof that the other witches were cursing her or Valentina,
she thought it was inevitable that they were.
She had the most clients of any brouha within a 40 to 50 mile radius,
and their envy was certain, so she thought.
She had the most clients because she was the most successful at obtaining the outcomes people desired.
Therefore, she could charge the highest fees,
and people paid what she wanted because of her reputation for being able to deliver.
It was only to be expected that every brouhaha wanted what she had.
However, the other brouhas perceived her attack and retaliated.
Alejandra's animals became restless at random times, especially at night.
One morning she discovered almost one quarter of them dead inside their pens.
There was no trauma to their bodies, so it couldn't have been done by a predator.
Inside the house, mechanical failures were a constant.
Doorknobs slid off their spindles, the clocks and TV stopped working, and the refrigerator ceased to function.
The lawn suddenly died along with every other plant in the house.
None of this phased Alejandra.
She pressed on with her curses both in her.
against the other brouhaz and Valentina's Christian friends.
Reversing Valentina's decision of embracing Christianity
and exacting revenge on those who made it come about
became Alejandra's focus and consumed her entire day.
Every day.
And it was completely irrational.
But it wasn't only that.
It was demonic.
Alejandra began a steady decline in every way.
Her finances were ruinous because of the neglect of her clients.
She was constantly ill with some aspect of her health and peril.
Weak from self-sacrifice and exhausted from her rage-driven cursing,
she nevertheless refused to give up and began residing in absolute squalor.
Because of the extreme fasting she put herself under,
and the amount of blood she drew from herself to fuel the curses,
At times, she appeared to be near catatonic.
While it would be perfectly normal to attribute such a stubbornness to a deficiency in her mental state,
brought about by the trauma of her daughter going away to school and repudiating Brouharia,
it was more than that.
Psychologically, Alejandra's mind was clear and uninjured.
The problem was that most of her mind was now in the demonic world.
everything she was doing was by instruction of the spirits from her conversations with them.
These were not delusional conversations, but real conversations with clear messages and instructions for her to follow.
And they promised that she would obtain everything she desired if she followed everything exactly.
Yet, there was one major peculiarity.
If she was following everything to the tea, even to the point of falling apart physically,
why were her curses having no success?
Although Alejandra didn't know it, her debonic bill had come due.
As a quick note here, hearing Father Martin's account made me curious as to how prevalent
the consulting of witches or shamans or other spiritual practitioners remains today.
As it turns out, it's actually quite common.
It's difficult to classify what is a witch, of course, or a shaman or a spiritual healer in many
parts of the world, since they have varying or overlapping definitions. But I did find a very
interesting statistic. According to one study by the World Health Organization, over 80% of people
worldwide receive their health treatment from traditional, that is, non-biomedical, health
facilities. And in some regions, this proportion is actually way higher. Now, this is not saying
80% of people consult witches, but rather that a vast majority rely on herbalists, shamans,
indigenous medicine, witch doctors, and spiritual healers. In many countries, illnesses and
ailments are perceived to be rooted in spiritual and physical causes far more frequently than in the
United States. Demons have no loyalty. When they appear to be doing the bidding of those who
invoke them, they are actually cursing them. In Alejandra's case, her continued
use of cursing, divination, potion-making, etc., put her deeper and deeper into demonic debt.
And then, just when you least expect it, they come to collect their debt.
And, of course, although you didn't know it, attached to the goodies you accepted are rights
to your person and being, such that when they come to collect, you are left with virtually nothing.
Valentina didn't talk to her mother for several months after the phone call.
It was the longest they had ever gone without speaking.
It was a difficult but necessary separation.
But the two would soon be united.
Valentina received a phone call from her neighbor,
an elderly man who had always lived next door to them.
He found Alejandra passed out on the porch and called an ambulance for her.
After running a battery of tests,
Alejandra was diagnosed with no serious illness
but was found to be severely dehydrated and malnourished.
When Valentina arrived at the hospital,
it was the first time she had seen her in four months,
and she was shocked at how pale and emaciated she was.
After two days, Alejandra was discharged
with orders to drink plenty of fluids,
to eat more,
and more often.
Valentina put her mother in the car and drove her home.
When they arrived, she was shocked at the house and yards state of neglect.
But nothing prepared her for the experience of walking into the house.
The place was disheveled and smelled foul.
Looking around, her eyes saw what the inside of Noah's Ark must have looked like.
It smells like a barn.
It's fine.
This is not fine.
This is...
Disgusting.
Oh, you can't live like this.
It is my house.
I will live how I want.
I just picked you up from the hospital because you haven't been taking care of yourself.
Things are not fine.
This is next level gross.
You can't...
You can't live like this, ma.
The house was a disaster.
The door to the yard was open and...
the animals were clearly enjoying having multiple residences. It looked like a petting zoo,
with chickens, goats, and dogs roaming inside the house freely. The smell of feces and rotting carcasses
permeated the entire residence. From the extent of the mass, the back door had been open for
more than just a day or two, probably for weeks. Alejandra just sat in her chair and closed her
eyes, oblivious to the insanity of her home.
Valentina immediately set out cleaning, beginning with shoeing the animals back into their
pens and cleaning the feces and dead chickens off the floor.
All she could accomplish in one evening was to clean most of the main surfaces.
After putting her mother to bed, she went to bed herself, exhausted.
She awoke at 3 a.m. to loud speaking.
voices were coming from across the hall from her mother's room.
Valentina assumed her mother was on the phone,
but why at that hour she couldn't fathom.
As she got closer, she could hear a full-fledged conversation.
She couldn't make out the words,
but she could distinctly hear a male voice along with that of her mother's.
She knocked on the door and entered.
What she found was her mother sitting in bed,
staring at a live rooster perched on her bed's footboard.
She wasn't on the phone, and other than the rooster, no one was in the room with her.
Mom.
Mama, are you okay?
Blood for blood.
Mom, what are you talking about?
They promised to bring you back.
I knew you would.
Moma, what's wrong with you?
I'm not back. I'm here to help you.
I'm missing out on school while I'm here.
So glad you're back. All is well now. All is well.
Do you hear yourself? Can you hear me?
Just then, the rooster, which Valentina had almost forgotten about,
jumped into the air and came down on top of her,
flapping his wings violently against her face and cutting her arm with the spur of one of his feet
as he descended past her face. He left a deep gash on her arm,
which started bleeding immediately.
Injured arm and all, Valentina picked up the rooster with both hands,
slammed the bird onto the floor and stepped on top of him with both feet.
The sound of his flapping wings was broken only by the sound of bones breaking and the bird screeching.
She opened the window and threw the injured bird outside.
Mom, hear me.
Look at what's happened to you.
You've lost like 30 pounds.
You're sick.
You were just talking to a damn rooster.
Look at what it did in my arm.
You shouldn't have hurt the bird.
He served me well.
Mama, you need God.
Enough is enough is enough.
Breraria is killing you.
No, Brugaria is the way.
It's everyone's way.
No, it's not.
The spirits didn't make you.
God made you.
How long do you think God will put up with this month, please?
You need God.
I don't need it.
As Valentina was talking, her mother began what sounded like an incantation,
but in a language she didn't recognize.
And then, a deep voice came from her, interrupting Valentina as she prayed for her mother.
Mom, Mom, Lord Jesus, Savior, save my mother from this.
Please, I beg of you.
Amen.
Father Martin's here.
I want to do a quick plug.

Again, it begins Monday, January 20th.
God bless you.
Father, I need help.
Oh, yes, father, I'm sorry.
It's, I'm home, and at my mom's house, and my mom is, she's acting so weird, and
Okay.
My mom, she's, there's something really wrong.
Strange voices are coming out of her weird voices, and last night she was talking to a rooster,
and it was speaking to her.
I heard it.
It's not, look, father, I know I'm new, and you don't know me that well, but we have a
weird past.
My family...
My...
Mom's a witch.
Yeah.
Spells. Curses.
Animal sacrifices.
She doesn't play at being a witch.
She is a witch. She's the one you've been praying against
from nightmares and disturbances.
Last night when I tried to talk to her, something came and took over.
It wasn't her.
It had a deep, masculine voice, and it told me that my mother belongs to him.
When I started to her...
When I started praying, it started screaming terrible things about Jesus.
You're the only priests I know.
I think she needs the prayers of a priest.
Thank you, Father.
I'm sorry.
I know it's late, and it's not business hours.
Father Douglas did as promised.
He called the priest he knew, but he happened to be out of state.
That priest gave Father Doug my number,
and he called me directly, asking,
if I would call Valentina and do what I could have.
for her. I found Valentina to be collected and respectful, and it was clear that she loved her mother
and wanted to help her. She just wasn't exactly sure what help her mother needed. I said that I would be
glad to meet with her, with her mother, and to pray for her, but I would need her to come to me.
I adopted that policy with initial visits to avoid the failure of an undesired rescue.
The friends and family of someone with spiritual oppression often call for intervention on that person's behalf, often without even telling that person.
They have great intentions.
They want to see their friend or family member liberate it and in a better place.
But unless the afflicted person desires liberation and desires it enough to engage in the fight for it, then such good intentions are futile for all.
practical purposes. A great analogy is that of the drug addict. And your desire to help your drug-addicted
friend, you can call an addiction specialist on his behalf. But unless your friend himself desires to be
free from the drugs, such a call is a waste of time. Just as there is no magic wand that conveniently
takes away addiction, there is none that takes away demons. The desire to be free must come from the person
with the problem, who must be willing to do the work necessary to exit the kingdom of darkness
and enter the kingdom of God. I asked Valentina to bring her mother to my office as a way of testing
her mother for goodwill. If she were willing to see a priest, that might demonstrate goodwill.
Such a scenario is very different than my showing up at her house merely at her daughter's
invitation, and having her uncooperative at best and kicking me out at worst.
An exorcist can say all the prayers in the world and can preach about the freedom that Christ
brings, but if the victim isn't willing to receive it, there is nothing he can do.
You must be Alejandra and Valentina. I'm Father Martins. Welcome.
Hi, Father Martins. It is a pleasure to meet you.
Hello. Thank you for meeting with us. The pleasure is mine.
Have a seat.
Thank you.
Thanks.
Well, you both are here.
That's a good sign.
What can I do for you?
Valentina looked at her mother who just looked away.
Mom, fine.
Okay, I'll start.
Well, father, two days ago, I had to pick my mother up at the hospital.
She collapsed because she hasn't been taking care of herself.
But I think we both know the real reason why.
It's the cursing.
non-stop cursing. My mom practices what we call in the Mexican culture Burheria.
Witchcraft.
Yes. She got very upset that while away at college, I converted to Christianity and will be baptized as a Catholic at the Easter Vigil.
Oh, congratulations. That's wonderful. Thank you.
You know, I'm a convert, too. Really? From what?
Atheism.
Wow.
When I said that, Alejandra looked at me and scanned me up and down with her.
eyes. My saying that seemed to catch her off guard. It changed my life. The event was an experience
with the Eucharist, but what led me there was what I saw in that small group of students who live
their faith joyfully and fully. That happiness I saw in them, that peace, was something that I
wanted for me. I know, right? That's what happened to me. Everyone that I met was just so kind,
something about them. There is nothing like the piece that comes from.
knowing Christ. But sorry, I'm interrupting you.
That's okay, Father.
My conversion has upset my mother a lot.
She's always wanted me to be a brouha like her, and...
In the two months since my conversion, she has been sending curses against everyone on my faith journey.
They attack us? I attack them.
No one attacked me, Mama. I found Christ. I want him, and I want nothing else.
Jesus is not for us.
We are different.
Jesus is for everyone.
Mom, you crossed the line.
You're not in control.
You were talking to a bird, a bird.
And, Father, I literally heard it speak to her with more than one voice.
Whatever is inside her, they don't let her eat.
They don't let her sleep.
Every time I pray in front of her, she disappears,
and a rambling voice comes up and says the darkest, most awful things.
Alejandro, what do you have against Jesus?
Jesus is for the week.
Okay, then why are you here today? Why did you come to see me?
Normally, I would never agree to visit a priest.
Then why did you?
Yesterday, the day after she picked me up from the hospital, she...
She bathed me, even with that cut on her arm from the rooster.
Hmm. That act of kindness spoke to you.
Love does that.
I would have never done that before my conversion.
My mom's not an invalid.
She can take care of herself,
but I wanted to make sure she was clean
and got that feeling of being clean after bath.
She's been through a lot,
and I wanted to give her that.
Alejandra,
Jesus seems to have changed your daughter for the better, don't you think?
Alejandra gave no indication of agreement,
but neither did she disagree.
That simple act of love done by her daughter
touched the deepest part of her,
and it occurred after the demonic events of the preceding day.
I pointed out two things to her.
One, she was afraid she would lose her daughter to Christ.
Not only did she not lose her,
but her daughter became new and improved because of the faith.
Two, it is fine to have doubts about Jesus.
It is okay to want to be convinced of his power for me.
It's one thing for someone else to speak about that power,
but a completely different thing to experience it myself.
All one has to do is ask.
Alejandra, would it be okay to ask Jesus to allow you to experience his goodness,
to let him show you the light beyond the darkness you've known?
You've got nothing to lose, Mom.
For a moment, Alejandra was still.
Then her lips and hands began trembling, followed by the rest of her body.
Her eyes widened and glared.
She turned her head to the crucifix I had on my office wall.
Saliva and copious amounts started oozing out of the sides of her mouth.
And then, I don't want you here, I'm here.
She is ours, pig shit.
You're crucial.
Christ wants her, and he.
He is coming for her.
He has already defeated you and all those like you.
You have no idea what you're talking about, you pile of shit.
There are legions of us looking at you now to devour you.
No, Christ wants her.
You are defeated.
Your time is at an end.
You know nothing.
We await you both in our father's home.
the name of Jesus Christ, tell me your name.
I am the Ghana, the ancient one who leads and inspires.
I existed before land and see.
Our regular listeners know that ordinarily a demon hides his name from an exorcist for as long as possible.
A name holds power.
More than just a label, it is tied to a being's essence because it existed before it.
The first verse of Isaiah, chapter 43, states the following,
But now thus says the Lord,
He who created you, O Jacob,
He who formed you, O Israel, fear not, for I have redeemed you.
I have called you by name, and you are mine.
For a demon giving up his name is, in a sense,
handing the exorcist a tool that can be used to control it.
Think of it like giving someone the keys to your house.
Once that person has them, they can be used against you.
And this isn't just exorcist saying this.
This is also a principle in occultism and witchcraft.
Practically speaking, knowing a demon's name establishes dominance.
The commands in the right of exorcism emphasize commanding the entity by name to weaken its hold and force obedience.
Why does knowing its name weaken a demon?
If the demon stays nameless, it remains part of the obscure multitude,
a multitude working in unison against the exorcist, making his job much harder.
Knowing a demon's name enables the exorcist to pick out the demon's name.
from the collective abyss and cut it off from support.
A demon's name is sometimes tied to its pre-fallen state or cosmic origin.
Exposing it might unravel his place within the plan of God and thus reveal a weakness.
A demon's revealing his name is an act of capitulation, a nod to the exorcist, or, more correctly, God's dominion.
Silence then is an act of defiance, a sneer, a refusal to bend the knee.
Of course, there are exceptions.
infamous Legion demon from the Gospels that seemed to boast to Christ fairly quickly,
and in a few cases in the show, we have documented demons that gave up their names very quickly.
Naturally, I was curious as to why a demon would give up its name so quickly, especially in this case.
Demons will use any strategy they think may help them.
I suspect Alejandra's demon revealed his name so quickly in an attempted show of strength.
The nonchalant disclosure of his name was an attempt to show.
his lack of concern, an attempt to create the impression that he's really a big one.
In other words, an attempt at intimidation.
Ticana, in the name of Jesus Christ, I want to speak to Alejandra.
Bring her back.
Since my plan that day was merely to interview the two women and not perform an exorcism,
I didn't want to engage the demon any longer.
However, I didn't want to send them home with Alejandra manifesting demonically.
For one, it might be dangerous for Valentina, for example, who would be driving.
In these situations, I have found that invoking the Blessed Mother and reciting a Mary in Him
makes the demon retreat and brings back the victim.
Valentina, pray with me, okay?
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mary and Mary.
mercy. Our life, our sweetness, and our hope, to you do we cry.
Shut up!
Poor, banished, children of Eve, to you do we send up our sighs?
No!
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Nine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
No!
O clement, O loving,
Oh, sweet Virgin Mary.
She'll never come back.
She is ours forever.
I am routinely asked about what things are the most effective against demons.
Many things are exorcistic.
The right of exorcism is, by definition, exorcistic.
That's why exorcists use it.
Holy water, relics, blessed salt, and a priest stole
are also exorcistic.
But they are so because Christ is present in each one.
Christ is also present in other things.
He is present in a superlative way within the Eucharist, for example,
but also in his church, in his body of believers,
and wherever two or three are gathered in his name.
But he is present wherever truth, love, beauty, and goodness are present.
My advice to people is,
rather than trying to discern which him or prayer or sacramental is the most effective,
we should instead just fix our minds on Christ and stay close to God.
In a word, holiness is the best demon repellent.
Alejandra needed an exorcism, but her situation was complicated.
Valentina was a full-time student and lived two hours away.
She could not be with her mother constantly, and yet her mother would not come for an exorcism without her.
She lived a solitary life and had no friends.
Valentina was not just her daughter.
She was her only connection to the outside world.
It was decided that every two weeks, Valentina would drive home and bring her mother to an exorcism session.
Except for one appointment, which she had to cancel because it conflicted with the scheduled
exam, Valentina faithfully brought her mother to each session.
Weekly exorcism sessions.
I find this aspect of the ministry to be particularly fascinating.
If someone is demonized enough to warrant an actual exorcism, requiring multiple sessions,
as many exorcists claim, how does that person function during the week?
Do you call the victim in, then call the demon forward, do some work, and then the victim
just walks out, still partially demonized?
Is there a threshold of progress that has to?
be met before turning it over to a weekly session schedule like this? I was very curious.
My colleagues and I have mentioned on this show that it usually takes multiple exorcism sessions,
sometimes for months, to achieve full liberation. For many, this translates into weekly sessions.
Why weekly? Exorcism is a process. The act of freeing someone is the act of moving that person
from one kingdom, that of darkness, to another, that of light.
God alone is the true exorcist, and he frees the person according to the timeline he sees fit.
The victim wants to be liberated now. So does the exorcist. Every exorcist wants that.
Not only does he want to see the victim enjoying freedom, but he also wants to be free of the
workload that a possession gives him. But God often has his own reasons for delaying liberation.
For example, sometimes the victim has a terribly erroneous image of God. The trauma and hurts he has
suffered from childhood may have led him to see God as an uncaring, disinterested tyrant who disdains
him. I know more than one victim who suffered from this distortion. In these cases, God used the
repeated and prolonged exorcism sessions to change the false image within each victim,
in addition to liberating him from his demons.
In fact, I came to understand that a great part of why the demons were able to be inside the
victims was because of their distorted image of God.
Being master manipulators, the demons used the distortion as a kind of contract that gives them
rights. In each case, the victim had to replace his false and distorted conception of God with a new and
accurate one before the liberation could come about. The upshot is that God wanted to do more than
just remove the demons. He wanted the victims in question to come to a new and accurate
understanding of Christ and their relationship with him. I remember another case where the victim had to
make a separation from her friends and family before the liberation could occur.
The habits, character, and manner of living of every person in her life were utterly abusive
and dysfunctional. Among other things, the victim had never really experienced love from anyone,
not even her mother. Her liberation required many sessions, yet in their course, she began to
experience the love that she never had.
It came from her encounter with the team members who treated her with a respect she had never been shown
and with a love she had never felt. Among other things, they spent time with her outside the sessions,
taking her to the movies, out to restaurants, and even having her over on holidays, like Christmas and Thanksgiving.
When she needed something, a team member was only a phone call away.
This was the first time she ever experienced something.
something like that, and it changed her self-image. By treating her with love, they changed
her self-image. She began seeing herself in a new way. As she began to believe that she was
lovable, the sessions became more and more exorcistic until eventually the demons were gone.
I have found that weekly exorcism sessions, in other words, provide a victim with a regular
dose of much-needed pastoral care. That care is just as necessary as the prayers that assault the demons.
In the case of Alejandra, her first seven sessions were almost carbon copies of one another.
The demon smugly and belligerently asserted his rights and proclaimed his certain victory.
But on the eighth session, something different happened.
You will come out of her demon, the power of Christ.
Christ compels you.
Your, fair sum.
She's mine, priest.
Eight times now when you still stumble like a blind rat,
your prayers are worthless.
There is no God hearing you.
By the authority of Christ, I bind you, Deccana.
Be cast into the abyss.
I am the devourer of will, the breaker of bonds, and the maker of cominix.
This insignificant sack of flesh called me,
offered me her flesh for power.
A fair trade, no.
She's in my power now.
You're too late.
She's mine.
Ted, hit her with the holy water, please.
You'll pay for that in flesh.
I am speaking to Alejandra now,
and I command you demon to allow her to hear me.
Alejandra, this is the demon that gave power.
to your Bruhadia. You want
your immortal soul. You need to reject
She is mine. You cast straight and
she can't reject me.
Yes, she can, Tikana
and you will not interfere, but allow her
to hear me.
Alejandro,
you need to reject him.
God has a plan for you.
A plan for peace.
Goodness and happiness.
She's a whisper, priest.
A fading scream.
You need your chance to attempt me.
I grow stronger every bread she takes.
Look at her.
See the rot I've sown.
She's mine.
The Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me besides still waters.
He leads you to slaughter priest.
Just like the barn animals, this screeching bitch sacrifice to me.
You'll be the next to die.
Leeds louder than that goat.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil.
I am a shadow, her marrow.
You are the intruder here, you disgusting,
a stale piss.
It's for me.
Bad to shed her weakness.
You'll never let me out.
Jeff, we're holy water.
By the blood of Christ, I enjoy you, Ticana.
Depart from this woman.
You have no claim here.
Alejandra, hear me.
Reach for the light that is Christ.
Say to Jesus, I want you.
Jesus won't want me.
That's not true.
He does want you.
Just ask him.
Show her your love, Lord.
Now this was different.
and significant.
Alejandra actually broke through
and spoke in the midst of the possession.
To this point,
there had been no indication
the sessions were having any effect
on the demons' hold.
However, this was
proof they were having an effect,
and everyone in the room knew it,
including Tikana.
But the battle was not over.
Of bearing a flame,
aware her skin to die.
Just before I leave, I'll wear yours to.
Enough. In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out, Tikana.
You'll not mock the power of God.
I go take spedus, spirituosimundus.
There is an unending grace, Lord.
We'll swallow her head first.
Notice something.
I commanded the demon to leave, and he didn't.
I cast him out, he refused.
This happens.
Exorcists issue commands in faith, and we battle the demons until they comply.
But they don't always comply immediately.
I've mentioned earlier that there are many things that are exorcistic,
and sometimes a simple act of love can be devastatingly effective.
It was under this form, in an act of truth, love, beauty, and goodness,
that God communicated himself to Alejandra through the bath,
Valentina gave her. That simple act of love cut through every bias she had of the Christian God
and made her own occult self-worship seem pitiful. Prior to converting to Christianity,
Valentina would never have bathed her mother the way she did. It just wouldn't have entered
into her mind. It was Christ who put that love into her, and Alejandra knew it. Her encounter with that
is what motivated her to make her first visit to see me that day with Valentina.
But something else happened that also had a profound effect on Alejandra,
and it serves as a great reminder that as the body of Christ,
our actions affect each other by communicating Christ in profound ways.
We convinced Alejandra to attend the Easter Vigil Mass
at which Valentina would be baptized into Jesus.
the Catholic Church. To everyone's amazement, she accepted and drove the two hours to the campus
church. While it was her intention to witness the entire Mass, Alahandra began shaking and manifesting
so much inside the church that she went out into the car and waited for what seemed like an eternity
for the ceremony to be over. The Easter Vigil Mass is the celebration of the resurrection
of Christ from the dead. For that reason, it is called the mother of all liturgies and is easily the
longest mass of the year. Depending on how many baptisms and adult converts there are, it usually
lasts at least two and a half hours. Alejandra knew the mass was over when people started leaving
the church and moving into the hall for the reception. Since her shaking had stopped, she walked into the
hall as well. She saw person after person hugging and congratulating her daughter. Gift after gift was
being handed to her, and the joy that was present in all was unmistakable. That sight displayed a
reality that Alejandra had never witnessed. Her own upbringing was by a hard and stern mother who
never displayed affection. She had never known who her father was. While she was more
tender with Valentina than her own mother was with her, she knew she was too hard on her.
Seeing these perfect strangers show love to her daughter mesmerized her and produced an ache
in her heart. She was visibly moved. Given the impact the vigil had on Alejandra,
rather than our next session being an exorcism, I proposed to Alejandra that our ninth meeting
would be a thorough blessing of her house
and a discarding of any brujaria paraphernalia
she's still possessed.
She accepted.
Thank you for coming, everyone.
Father, I really appreciate you doing this.
Of course, my pleasure.
I still can't believe my mother agreed to this.
Her whole life, brujaria, is all she has ever known.
Agreeing to have this house blast and getting rid of her items,
I can't believe this.
Well, God's been working on your mother,
just like he's been working on you.
No, man.
Where is she now?
When you came over, she started shaking pretty hard, so she's sitting in the living room.
Well, let's go say hello.
I have to warn you, father.
The house is insane.
The description of the house as insane was an understatement.
The smell was horrific.
My heart broke for Valentina, who was immensely embanky.
embarrassed. She had done her best to remedy the place with strong cleansers, but there was no way to get the
smell out. It smelled like bleach, air freshener, and rotting matter all rolled into one.
Alejandra was sitting in a living room chair and stiffened as I approached.
Hi, Alejandra.
Hello?
Is it okay if I start blessing the house?
Her shaking increased. She nodded, but said nothing.
Nothing. Valentina was gathering her mother's occult paraphernalia to take outside where a fire pit had been prepared to burn it.
I instructed the other team members who had also come to light the fire while I began the blessing by making holy water.
God's creature, water, I cast out the demon from you in the name of God, the Father Almighty, in the name of Jesus, Christ, His Son, our Lord, and in the power of the power of the
Holy Spirit.
Once everything was prepared,
God the Father Almighty,
we fervently implore you for the sake of this home
and its occupants and possessions
that you may bless and sanctify
them enriching them by your kindness
in every way possible.
Pour out on them, Lord,
heavenly due in good measure,
as well as an abundance of earthly needs.
Mercifully listen to their prayers,
and grant that their desires be fulfilled.
Now, everything in the home and the whole property would be sprinkled with holy water.
I began in the living room and made sure to get some on Alejandra, who gasped and panted heavily.
Lord, cast out all evil from this place and let your peace be here.
One by one, Valentina brought me the miscellaneous articles her mother used in her witchcraft.
books, wooden bowls, dolls, various lengths of yarn and cord, bones and shells, herbs and plants, incense and candles.
I blessed each object with holy water, and a team member took it outside and added it to the fire.
As this continued, Valentina stopped, pulled me aside, and mentioned that she felt something in her spirit.
She sensed God wanted her to speak forgiveness over her mom.
Father, I had this thought as I was praying.
It's really strong.
I feel like I'm supposed to tell my mother I forgive her, and I love her,
and that my rejection of our family heritage is not my rejection of her.
Oh.
Let's go tell her.
Mom, I love you.
I will always love you.
I will never reject you.
I rejected our rebellion against God, but that rebellion was hurting you.
I'm a part of God's family now, and I want you in that family.
You are my mama.
I love you, and I forgive you.
You brought me into the world and always took care of me.
As Valentina spoke, Alejandra became a slobbering mess.
I invited Alejandra to renounce her brouharia.
We had tried to do this in the sessions, but the demon had prevented it.
Because of Valentina's act of forgiveness and affirmation of love towards her mother,
I was hoping we could get further than we had.
Alejandra, God wants you in his family.
Leave your old life behind.
Your freedom is on the other side of this moment.
The enemy will try any way he can to keep you.
Resist him and he will flee.
Just repeat after me.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce.
All involvement in bruharia, sorcery, divination, and every form of occult practice.
All involvement in brunt.
It is what she is.
Too many deals.
Too much blood has been spilled.
No demon.
This child now desires the blood of blood.
Jesus, his blood saves all who desire it and reclaims what is lost.
Alejandra, continue, please.
Bluheria?
Bruheria!
Sorcery, devonation, and every form of occult practice.
I reject every pact, agreement, or invitation given to evil spirits knowingly or unknowingly.
I reject every pact, agreement, or invitation given to evil spirits.
knowingly or unknowingly.
I place myself under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Ask for his forgiveness, for his precious blood to cleanse me from all spiritual contamination.
I place myself under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Ask for his forgiveness.
And for his precious blood to cleanse me from all spiritual contamination.
And for his precious blood to cleanse me from all spiritual contamination.
Amen.
Then, in the name of Jesus Christ, who conquered sin and death, I command every familiar spirit,
every demonic influence, and every spirit tied to witchcraft to depart.
By the power of the cross and of the authority of the church, I break every curse, every chain,
and every demonic claim against this soul.
May the light of Christ drive out all darkness, and may this person be filled with the Holy
Spirit, restored to freedom in Christ. Amen. Like that, Alejandra joined the family. One spiritual
family ended, and another one began. A new lineage, a new line rooted in Christ. Praise God.
They say crime doesn't pay, and apparently neither does Brueharia. Alahandra was about to lose
everything, her family, her health, and nearly her life. But through the love of her daughter and the
power of God, she was able to see the darkness she had partnered with and received help before
it was too late. It took time in healing, but Alejandra and Valatina were restored and their relationship
renewed. Today, Alejandra speaks out against the dangers of Brugaria, warning others that
cursing always comes at the cost of cursing yourself. The occult promises power, influence,
and control over your life and destiny. But it always comes with a price. As this case illustrates,
that price came at the cost of Alejandra's health and mind and almost her soul as well.
Cooperating with evil doesn't just affect us.
It affects everyone with whom we are in connection, especially our family.
However, so does love, which always yields a blessing beyond ourselves.
Had Valentina not received Christ and fought for her mother,
this story would not have the happy ending it does.
And had Valentina not been evangelized at her college campus,
neither would her mother have been liberated.
Good is diffusive.
And now we say adios, just like Alejandra said to all those goats and chickens.
It's been real, folks.
