Hi, I'm Gregory Orr, grandson of Jack Al Warner, and producer of the documentary Jack Al Warner
The Last Mogul, and you are listening to The Extras.
Hi, Tim Laard here of The Extras, and along with me today is Blair Zykin of Movies in.
And Blair, you had an exceptionally successful Warner Archive anniversary sale.
We talked about that recently.
But now you have another promotion that you're running that I thought it'd be good to get
the watchers and listeners of the extras some information about.
about it. Well, Tim, first off, thanks to both you for having me on as well as all of your listeners
and viewers for participating in the archive sale. It was truly a record. And we're just getting
started with Moviesing. So, well, this one's very exciting as it's been highly requested
from Moviesing shoppers and as well as folks we just hear from on a regular basis. And that is
our pre-order discount promotion. So now through April 3rd.
30th, virtually every title that is on a pre-order status at Movesing is available for anyone
to purchase at a 10% discount.
And literally once or twice a week, new titles are coming on that are in the pre-order
period.
And as soon as the title street dates, well, then it goes off pre-order.
So everybody has a chance to save, but you want to check back frequently to look at the
new titles that are available.
and we've got some great titles for everybody to choose from.
Not only all of the Warner Archive titles, such as Private Benjamin, George Stevens,
a filmmaker's journey on 4K, the Looney Tunes, a total series collection on Blu-ray,
but titles from Sony, such as Moneyball 4K, as well as something's got to give,
and a host of indie titles running across all sorts of genres.
So a great chance for everybody to do shop and save.
I love that because I know that when we talk about collectors that we really thank
those who take the time and the money up front to support the Warner Archive and all of the
releases versus only waiting for a sale. I understand why people do wait for a sale. That's, of course,
very understandable, but those who are committed to getting in the pre-order and supporting the Warner
archive, you're basically going to reward them. You're going to say, hey, right from the get-go,
10% off. I love that. Absolutely. And it runs counter to what most of the big box retailers do.
Our objective is to give folks a chance to buy early, enjoy the title right from the beginning,
and bring more people and have a chance to enjoy the shopping and buying experience at movies.
That's terrific.
And then you have kind of another thing you're going to give to those who are also rewards program members.
Tell us about that.
Well, one of the interesting parts with the rebuild of the store, we added a rewards program.
I'm excited that we have nearly 2,000 folks that have been.
join the rewards program. And most of the time, rewards points, you don't get as much of a
chance to double dip. But our rewards members have asked for the chance for sales that they could
participate and essentially double dip and add the rewards points. And this particular
promotion is one of them. Folks have asked for it. And now for those that have rewards points,
you can get an additional 10%. So now that gets you to a 20% discount on a pre-sale title,
and Moviesing will be essentially not only a great experience for everyone,
into shop, but arguably the most affordable place to buy any of the Warner Archive or other titles
we carry on pre-order. Right, right. And just to clarify for people, you can double dip. You can get the 10%
off for the pre-order. And then if you have reward points, you can use those for the pre-orders.
You can. Automatically, the 10% will take place. And then as you're checking out or seed in your
cart, there's a place to enter your coupon code. You redeem some of your points that you know,
want to use, pick the amount of points you want to use for the order you have in mind,
and then redeem a coupon code, enter that code right in as you're checking out, and you'll get
a doubled it.
Now, Blair, some people who maybe went to the sale and bought some Warner Archive titles,
they may not have created an account.
They may have checked out as a guest, so they don't necessarily have rewards points.
But what do you say to those folks?
Well, it's not too late. For those that have made purchases, we track the point accumulation
that your purchases would have generated. And so those that want to sign up, they'll automatically
have some points from their recent purchases. And they also get 50 points just for signing up
as well. So virtually everybody can just go back to Moviesing if you have shopped, even if you
are not a current rewards member, sign up for your account and you'll be able to have points
and take advantage of it.
That is only kind of there for like 30 or 60 days and then, poof, it disappears.
So it's not like it's in there forever.
But for right now, if they, within the last 30 days, we're a part of that sale, that information is stored there.
It makes it very easy to go back and get your points so that you can start using them right away.
Absolutely.
We'd love to see everybody sign up and be able to take advantage of these sales with extra benefits.
And right on your main page is going to be a tile that says pre-order 10% off.
So people click that and that's how they find the pre-orders, correct?
Exactly.
So they just click on the title.
It's right front and center on the homepage.
It'll take you to a couple of hundred or so titles that are on pre-order.
And as I mentioned earlier, that selection changes almost daily.
I also notice that some of those that are on the page or when you search have a little thing that says in the corner, pre-order.
So that's another way people can see that as well if they don't know specific titles.
I love it.
I think it's terrific.
You really are looking out for the collector.
And tell us kind of your motto again about this, this new movie Zing rebrand, because I think
it's worth hearing.
Well, our whole objective is to not just create a web store.
It's really to create a community and bring that community together of those of us that
enjoy and are passionate about physical media and as well, making physical media fun again.
I love that, making physical media fun again.
And I think people do need to know that this is a bit of.
of a trial, you're seeing how people respond to it. So it may not last forever. It's definitely
running through April and then we'll have to see after that. And then once again, once a title does
street, it's no longer available for this. So this is only for pre-orders. That is correct.
Let's tease people. Blair has more great ideas coming up for members and fans of movies.
So this is a very exciting time for movies. It is indeed. And again, thanks for the
chance to share some of the good news.
I do want to remind everyone that the extras is an affiliate partner of Moviesing,
but that's a reason why I wanted to bring this 10% off pre-order sale information to you
is because I'm always looking for ways to serve the physical media collector,
both through our interviews with Jerry Beck or George Feltonstein or many of the other people
we bring on, and then how we update everybody on what is being released by Warner Brothers,
Warner Archive, and other studios.
So this is just another way I wanted to let you know about it.
It's not that obvious when you go to the Moviesing website.
Yes, they have that tile there,
but I think it needed a little explanation to really drive home the benefit.
I also found a slightly faster way if all you're looking for are the pre-orders for the Warner Archive.
That is to go to the homepage.
Find the Shop All Titles drop-down menu.
Go down to major studio brands that will open up an option to find the Warner Archive.
select that and that will bring up the Warner Archive Collection page and the most recent pre-orders
are right there. So that I found was the fastest way to go straight to the Warner Archive
Collection pre-orders. So those who are primarily looking for those, that's your shortcut.
If you're looking for all of the pre-orders, of course, the way we described it off of that
tab is still the way to go. And I had no idea about this ability to use the rewards points on top of
the 10% off. So I think that's great. I always love to double dip myself. It's not usually
allowed. So it's always a great benefit when you can do that. And then of course, sometimes I go to
website and I only check out as a guest. I don't sign up the membership. But Blair made it clear that
if you did that within the last 30 to 60 days, they still have that information and you can convert
that guest checkout to joining the rewards program. Get those rewards points. The 50 points you get
is for signing up plus whatever you already earned so that you can see, hey, oh yeah, look,
they're right.
I have some points I can use on top of the 10% pre-order.
So I would love to hear people's reaction if you have been using the pre-order or if you
are using it now and give us some feedback on your thoughts of, is this a great deal?
Is this a good idea?
And I think Blair would probably find that interesting as well.
So leave that in the comments here in our social media pages.
I'll share some of that with Blair so that we can build a better community.
and bringing more things for the physical media collector what we need and what we want and
what benefits us most.
I hope you enjoyed this little video update.
And as always, stay slightly obsessed about physical media.
