Starting point is 00:00:00 I want to talk about the fact that your data and all your behaviors are not only captured behind your back without you knowing it, but they're sold everywhere. So you are an algorithm, you're a number and they know everything about you. They know what you like, what you don't like, what you buy, when you buy, how you buy. They know what you're going to buy. They can program you to buy what they have already have for sale, everything else. This is where Aura comes in. Aura is an all-in-one online safety solution. It helps protect what information about you and your family is being sold without your
Starting point is 00:00:38 consent and believe me, it is being sold because there are data brokers out there. What Aura does is it automatically submits opt-out requests on your behalf. So data brokers are legally required to remove your personal information if you ask, but they make it difficult and time consuming. This also helps reduce annoying robocalls, telemarketers, phishing text messages, and junk mail by sending these take-down requests on your behalf regularly. And that's not all. Aura also monitors identity theft, financial fraud, and other online threats before they
Starting point is 00:01:09 happen. With Aura, you can rest easy knowing that someone is looking out for you. Aura scans the dark web to look for your email addresses, passwords, social security numbers, and other sensitive information. If anything is found, you're receiving an alert in real time. So if you're a victim of ID theft, which a lot of people are, I know I have been, their experienced White Glove fraud resolution team will help you navigate credit bureaus, help you initiate credit freezes or lock and work with you around the clock to resolve it.
Starting point is 00:01:40 ORA offers a suite of tools to protect you and your loved ones, including real-time alerts on suspicious activity, computer virus protection, a VPN, password manager, and even parental controls for parents. It's a comprehensive online safety solution that provides almost every tool you'll ever need all in one place. So for a limited time, Aura is offering our listeners a 14-day trial plus a check of your data to see if your personal information has been leaked online All for free when you visit aura.com Trust that's aura.com

Look at us, buddy. I know, dude. Look at us. We're going to start this show.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I hope your attitude's good. I hope your energy's good. He came back from Miami, so of course I'm a little tie-tie. Miami? You do look a little tanner. Now we've had, how many days off? We've had a number of, all the Memorial Day. So Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, six days off from chatting.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Six days off. I went to, I was at Patrick Ben David's house, did the podcast. Love him. Love him. That's my boy. And he had a Memorial Day party. I went, I had a little lunch at his house, in fact. Wait, party and lunch?
Starting point is 00:03:14 Yep, yep. It'd be the same thing though, right? Nope, nope, nope. Went twice. Okay. Went twice. That's different. So after the podcast, went and had myself a little lunch.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Now, now, when you walk into a house like that, in Fort Lauderdale on the water with that boat slip and that that view, you you do this ready, you go like this, you go, huh, I fail money does buy happiness, and I failed and I failed. Now you do know that guy should be the next president of the United States. Well, I'm a huge fan. Every time you walk in his house, I want you to bend the knee, right? Well, I do. God damn me. I do. And the other thing I love about him is that he's got his parents living with him, family living with him. That guy's a family man through and through. The best. He's unbelievable. I absolutely adore him. And a genuinely, genuinely good person. Like genuinely. The best. Everybody's got
Starting point is 00:03:58 a hundred people working for him. Every single one of them loves that guy. He's the best. Because, yeah, he's just great. I would run through a wall for that guy Right. Yeah, you know, he also owns the Yankees. Yeah, and he's a partial owner of the yeah. Yeah, he's he's the real team He's recruiting tiger. No big deal. Yep. Could could tires tires seven. All right, he's eight. So we'll see we'll see We'll see a good connection down the road. Yep. Hey, I want to thank you on the team, right? By the way, I want to thank the people at Dania the Dania Beach By the way, I want to thank the people at Dania Beach, Miami adjacent, because it ain't Miami adjacent. It's the suburbs of... It's the suburbs.
Starting point is 00:04:28 And Memorial Day, you worry that people aren't going to come out, they came out and they came out in force. They should come out though. It's a holiday, I guess, at night. Our boy Colby Covington. Love him. He showed up. Love him.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And he's a sweetheart. I tell you guys this all the time. It's all an act. That whole thing's an act, but when you're with him alone, he's a sweetheart. One of it. I tell you guys this all the time. You said it. It's all an act. That whole thing's an act, but when you're with him alone, he's a sweetheart. One of the best people you've ever met. Yes, because I always was like,
Starting point is 00:04:50 I don't like that trash talking stuff. No, Bob. God, is he a sweetheart. That'd be like me in The Undertaker, I'm like, God, he comes from the underworld. Right. And Tiago Alves came to my show, and he's a coach.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Faced to beat up? He's a coach at American Top Team, Mike Brown, right? He's like Dustin Poirier's coach. And I said, man, Colby's such a sweetheart. And Tiago's, yeah, yeah, he's a doll. He's just like, but when the cameras are on, it's a different thing. No, it's a character.
Starting point is 00:05:14 It's a character. Yeah, it's a character. And you said it. You did. I've told you this for how long. But he doesn't like me saying that. How about this? I don't know if you know this.
Starting point is 00:05:22 He's been in the UFC. Colby Covington's been in the UFC for 11 years. I don't know if you know, but 30 seconds into that Leon Edwards fight, he broke his foot in three places. Yeah, I knew that. Oh, okay. That's, that people were like, well, he didn't look himself while he broke his foot. He said that after he said he broke his foot after the fight. Yeah, he, he, this is the thing he, he mentioned it, he alluded to it. And then of course, there was a year Internets like go bullshit. That's a real excuse. That's a legit excuse Oh, no for anyone out there go ahead Leon's a tough fight for anybody, right now do it on one leg. I
Starting point is 00:05:56 Mean, and here's my thing. How do you look on one leg? Not bad. It was tough fight for me It's a tough fight on two legs. Sure, but still yeah, it's a legit excuse I formed a tough fight on two legs. Sure. But still, yeah, it's a legit excuse. 100% of my foot's broken in three places. I'm, I'm not doing any, I'm not walking upstairs. I wish you would have FaceTime me with Kobe because I would have told him to take the E and Gary fight. Oh, was that offered to him?
Starting point is 00:06:18 Yep. And he turned it down. He did turn it down. Well, his foot. I, he's in a cast. He's still, I think he's probably 80%. I could see that there was, you know, he's just, it's taking time to heal, you know? That might be why he didn't take it, the foot. Yeah, he doesn't, he can't, you can't.
Starting point is 00:06:34 You can't fight Ian Garrett on 50%. No, you cannot. No, you cannot. Now, when he's fully, the fact that that guy was, had a broken foot in three places and fought 25 minutes, he's never been knocked out. Never been put on the canvas. So that's a serious accomplishment.
Starting point is 00:06:55 No, he's a beast. He's a different. But most fighters, I would say 80% of the time you're watching fights on TV, nobody's 100%. That's exactly right. Nobody. So that's why. You know I won the Ultimate Fighter, torn meniscus.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I told you this story before, Lauren Landau, who's the strength coach of Notre Dame now. Yeah. Right, that's my boy. Came from the Broncos, started with me. Cure my back. I was his first UFC fighter ever. I went to him, I said,
Starting point is 00:07:24 hey, I'm going to Ultimate Fighter, will you train me? He said, I don't know UFC. I'm his first UFC fighter ever. I went to him, I said, hey, I'm going to Ultimate Fighter. Will you train me? He said, I don't know UFC. I'm like, but you know weights and how to get people in shape. You're my guy. Now he became like the face of the UFC guys, right? Worked with everybody, went with the Broncos.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Now he's with Notre Dame. Couldn't be bigger. So he was my guy when I was getting ready for the Ultimate Fighter. I tore, well, I didn't know this. My knee was out to here, it was all messed up. And he checked it out. And he's moving around. He knows really well. Well, I didn't know this. My knee was out to here, it was all messed up. And he checked it out and he's moving around.
Starting point is 00:07:48 He, you know, he knows really well. I go, how bad is it? And this is before I get into the house. And he saw the MRI. Yeah, he saw the MRI. I'm one of the 16 guys selected and he gets it. They send it to him, not me, right? And he's looking at it and he goes, how you feeling?
Starting point is 00:08:01 I go, all right, just, it doesn't feel great, man. The swelling won't go down. And I go, what should I, like, what do you think it is? And he looks at me and he goes, does it matter? What do you mean? He goes, let's say you have a torn meniscus. Does it matter? What, are you not going to take this opportunity?
Starting point is 00:08:18 I went, oh yeah, he goes, don't worry about it. And then when I got out of the house, he goes, bud, torn meniscus. He goes, you wild man, torn meniscus. What a great wild man. Torn meniscus. What a great, what a great philosophy. Does it matter? Does it matter? What happened? Oh, would you get canceled? What happened? Somebody died in a fire. Does it matter? You got it. We got to keep moving. The great Lauren Landau. The best of the best.
Starting point is 00:08:39 That should be a book. Does it matter? That's why he was in my corner. That's why he was in my corner. Every Friday, everyone was like, who brings in the strength? Cause you're like, Oh, the, the mental space that Lauren Landau had the best. Does it matter? God bless. Didn't matter. I love what else you've been doing pal with your free time. Just, uh, just writing. Uh, right now I got my hour where I want it, but I'm tired. Yeah. So I'm obsessing and what I do is I, you know what I do all day? You want to be honest? I walk around and talk to myself.
Starting point is 00:09:08 That's what I do. Hell yeah. And it's gonna be. You don't look crazy at all. No, but this will be the best one I've ever. Hey, do I smell like gasoline? Do I, my hands are covered in gas. No, you've been, you've been.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Can you smell the gas? You've been balls deep, neck deep, in truck talk. Everybody should know that he walks in, and all I hear is no, because if it's in, well, how far away? So we'll go to Texas? It will cut it. Yeah, but they have to do that.
Starting point is 00:09:30 They have to put that other thing in the engine. Where's that other part? At 1230, but I'm doing a podcast. Oh, you'll turn around and leave me? Okay, so I'll be out there at 1230. I'll put my podcast on hold. Yeah, I'll do that too. I said, Brian will hold the fort down.
Starting point is 00:09:42 You have, you have, you have, well, you're obsessed. Yeah. Well, do that too. I said Brian will hold the fort down. You have you have you have you will you're obsessed Yeah, you're what did you today's busy and then I do is that to relocate where the where you put the gas nozzle the neck from you know, where your usual tank is to the back of the truck. Yep, and They there's a issue with it. I don't get into it. Okay, help me There's issue with it and gas went everywhere and it won't take gas right now. There's always an issue though, isn't there? I have, now it's not 91 gas, it's E85.
Starting point is 00:10:11 So it's like a corn alcohol smell. There you go, it's an ethanol. And it's driving me nuts right now. Now I'll tell you this, I'm very happy with your, you're tight. You're tight. Thank you, sir. You're looking tight. You're taking certain things you wouldn't be allowed to take when you were fighting,
Starting point is 00:10:22 like peptides, yeah? I can take peptides. I can take TRT. Oh, you can. I also get rest now. Now I'm around the road. Daddy's asleep by nine, and that's why I wake up so early at four.
Starting point is 00:10:32 I'm in the gym by five. Not drinking at all. Not touching alcohol. No, no, that's not true. No Adderall. Nope, nothing. You're living a healthy life, dude. Happy, living a healthy life. I just smell like gasoline. Okay. That's my problem.
Starting point is 00:10:42 That's all right. And my cars are giving me some problems. You don't smell it, thank God. No. With that big honker, I figured you would. Well, daddy was sick. Now I my problem. That's right. I don't smell it. You don't smell it. Thank god. No. With that big honker, I figured you would. Well, daddy was sick. Now, I know you did. You did miss Tiger's Championship game and I made as the basically I'm I'm a manager on the team. Also, I'm uh I'm the team mom basically, right? But I just
Starting point is 00:10:58 can motivate the kids. Brownies. Yeah. Hey, look what, you know, brownies but um so they they have game balls and I paint the game balls for the championship I'm paying them gold and I hand drew on all of them like MVP and all this stuff We lost the game We lost the game we lost the game. Starting point is 00:13:27 the FFFF fights? I've been seeing you so long. What are you catching up on? Are you talking about 302 this weekend? Yes sir. Where are you at on that? I know you came back from Miami around Dustin Poirier's boys. Yeah. Well I'll tell you this right now. I had lunch with Dustin Poirier's coaches. Okay before you answer, if you pick against Dustin Poirier, I'm gonna I'm gonna slap my dick in your face I understand because it's so un-American Rational thing to do would be to do some MMA math and hold on and go well We saw what Khabib did to Dustin now now
Starting point is 00:14:02 Dustin Poirier bring that bullshit Dustin Poirier. You bringing up bullshit. Dustin Poirier. You bringing up bullshit. We're talking about practice. What I didn't know when I was talking to his coaches was the kind of power that Dustin Poirier has always had in his hands. Always. And whether it's in, with his sparring partners had some,
Starting point is 00:14:19 it was hard finding sparring partners. Yeah, knock dudes out. That's what he does. Yeah, that's what he does. I don't know, top five boxers in UFC. He'll knock you out. Correct. One of the greatest of all time. Knocks dudes out. That's what he does. Yeah, that's what he does. I don't know, top five boxers in UFC. Correct. One of the greatest of all time.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Knocks you out. Okay. If Makachev is crazy enough to stand and bang with Dustin, I'm going to tell you this, Dustin's going to knock him out. If you don't think, number two, that Dustin Poirier has, for the past two fight camps, has had some of the best wrestlers that he they can find an American top team from other countries coming in and working with him you're also sadly mistaken so he's going to see those looks now the problem with that is Saint Denis took him down pretty easily right no no
Starting point is 00:14:53 listen yeah there's there's this is the issue the issue is there's not enough hours in the day to catch up to Mokuchev this is correct but carry on because I'm on your side but it's kind of stupid probably a bigger framed heavier man I don't know oh that's a big boy well Dustin's 185 so I've spent time he's that's a big boy yeah 185 to 55 yeah that's a big one 80 that's a big 50 yeah yeah well Kobe's is is 185 all the time no no heavier Dustin smaller smaller different small yeah different animal so but that's not a small 50 fiber No, but he's a he's a standard 50 fiber. I would say yeah 80. Yeah, that's fair and so Islam is a big 50 fiber. I think I might be wrong. I've not seen him in person. Have you I don't know
Starting point is 00:15:42 I've seen person once. Yeah, I hear he walks at 190 these guys these Dacustanis don't mess around No, they're there they're yeah yeah much for sure a bit bigger frame bigger dude walks around bigger yeah maybe stronger don't have the same power in the in his hands yes um but keep going yeah don't be yeah let's say you can probably see how much he weighed right when he walked in the ring can't you no I don't do okay they don't all right unless the team announces it go oh look at this this. Mark Zewde weighs, look at this. It says as much as 200. According to Cormier, Mark Zewde weighs as much as 200 pounds when he's not in camp for us.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Yeah, that doesn't matter. But when he's in camp, that means he's walking about 285. Yeah. So I'm saying, what I'm saying is that I am never, ever betting against Dustin Poirier. I'm just not. I think he seems to only get better and better and better. I think he's getting to the end of his thing.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Now, the smart, I'm not going to put up my life savings on Dustin against an animal champion like Makachev. Let's be honest, you and I are biased, right? This would be so much easier to go bad on Islam if he was a bad dude, but he's a great person. That's the problem. They're both two great people, so it would be so much funner to go bad on Islam. That's not the move here.
Starting point is 00:16:51 He's a good dude. So let's be very clear. Both our brains, if you get into the head and like, hey, who's going to win this fight? You pick Islam. He's a minus 500 basically. Yes. Right. But I can see a path to victory for Dustin Poirier, not by via guillotine. That ain't happening. We got to cut all that.
Starting point is 00:17:11 That stuff's fun on Twitter and stuff like that. He's not submitting them with a guillotine. Be hilarious if he did and merch would be lit. But if Makashev's game plan is to, remember he's different than Khabib. I think he's better fighting Khabib. I think he's more athletic. I think he has longer frame. His striking is light years better. Grappling not as good,
Starting point is 00:17:29 but right up there. You know, he's not as good, but I think if Makhchad's game plan is to entertain the striking, we can, we can now we can go. So, so, or, or, or if he shoots in and cause that's not you it's taking down, but if Dustin can stand up and then the exchange catch him with a big, now we're cooking it with gas. But if Makchev wants to. He can stand up, standing up on Makchev is a nightmare. He'll get up, but later on the rounds,
Starting point is 00:17:57 it might be tough to get up. But early on I think, so I think if Dustin, the exchange is somewhere or if Makchev's game plan is to, which would be stupid, but let's just say it's, you know, he's gonna be like, ah, let's make this a fight and stand with him, we got a chance. But that said, if Makchev goes, oh no, I'm just gonna do what Khabib did.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I know I can strike better than Khabib, but if I just wanna not get knocked out and wrestle him and try and finish him on third and fourth, well, I might try and finish him on third and fourth, Well, you might try and finish him on third and fourth, I'm gonna do that. Well, now we're fucked, especially if you bet on it. I said to his coaches, I said to Mike Brown and Tiago, I said, if I'm Dustin, all I'm doing is going,
Starting point is 00:18:35 yeah, Makachev would be terrified to stay in a bank with me. He'd never do that. So he's gonna try to wrestle me and he's just such a boring fighter, which is why, and I would just torture that. You think that's gonna work on a Dagestanian? I don't think it's gonna work on a Dagestanian because the Dag and I would just torture. You think that's going to work on a day standing. I don't think everybody's going to work on a dog standing because the dog is down. He just talks to Allah five times. And they're like, I train, I pray, especially at this level.
Starting point is 00:18:53 He doesn't give a fuck. You can do whatever you want. That's not going to affect them. It doesn't affect them. I would try to go to them into saying you could never stand a bang with me. That's what I would try to do. Yeah. That level might want to show people he's more than a wrestler and he wants to
Starting point is 00:19:04 stand in front. You think so? Yeah. It's teamv might want to show people he's more than a wrestler and he wants to stand in the bank. It's too smart. You think so? Yeah, that whole ego thing, they don't give a fuck. Those guys, they don't give a fuck. No. You don't want to stand in the bank.
Starting point is 00:19:12 What? I've been wrestling since I was in diapers. What? You want me to stand in the bank? Why would I do that? No. Oh, because I bet you can't. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Okay. I'm sorry, what? World champ. Yeah. That's reality. But how much funner is the world, again, love Islam, how much funner is the world of fight sports if Dustin KO's him, ready for this? He's not going to retire because this is what happens. He KO's him, Connor beats Chandler, it's Connor, Dustin, 4, 155.
Starting point is 00:19:41 God! Suck me off! Jesus, I'm so hard. How dope is that? Oh my god, or ready or I can give you another one or Dustin wins. He has the belt Well, I got a guy you beat up the other year Max Holloway. He's the BMF title holder So you have BMF title belt so much money for Dustin. So much money for both of them for both of them I love it. We're going six ways. These are the big money fights, and I love it. This is the pinnacle he loses all that time
Starting point is 00:20:09 It's fine. It's all good. Hey, it's just fighting. I'm gone. It's just fine. Who else is fighting on this card I? Want to get our guests in here soon? Thank you Sean Strickland Paul Ocosta. So again, that's what we should bet on. Yeah, okay ready because I know you guys Paulo Has a good body you're gonna bet on you're a gay. Ready? Cause I know because Paulo has a good body, you're going to bet on him cause he's a gay man. Well, I'm gay. I'm gay for Paulo, but here's the thing. Here's, if I, okay. If Paulo decides to fight Sean Strickland the way he fought Whitaker, he's going to get
Starting point is 00:20:35 pieced the fuck up. If Paulo Kosta fights Sean Strickland the way he fought you Al Romero, which is get in his grill and just bang, and use that big frame. Oh, I'm sorry. It's four years, Colin. I know. He's fought once a year since?
Starting point is 00:20:50 He took the entire 2023 off? I understand. Sorry, I'm just going to hang up now. I understand, but he's got to, he got away from his strength, which is rugged power, press, turn into a brawl, throw hooks like it's a bare-knuckle boxing match.
Starting point is 00:21:07 Don't try to stand and bang with Shawn Strickland. It's going to go bad for you. I think he has to stand and bang with Shawn Strickland. I think that's his only option. He literally has to win this fight in the first two rounds. I'd say he has a round and a half. He has to go balls to the wall, try and get Strickland out there.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Cause when it hits halfway through the second round and Strickland goes, oh man, finally breaking a sweat and puts the Strickland press on him, he's gonna melt them like acai in a sweet, sweet summer in Brazil. So again, as his coach, and I am Paulo Costa's coach and his lover, I say, honey, I said, sweetheart. Sweetie, sweetie.
Starting point is 00:21:47 I want you, I want, I want Sean fighting on his back foot. I want your, I want your chest in his, I want your face in his chest. I want your face in his face and I want you banging. I want you throwing short hooks and uppercuts. And I keep hanging on banging. And I just want you banging. I want you to bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bro.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Let me bang, bro. Let me bang, bro. And I want to be, but I would also say to bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bro Let me bang bro, and I want to but I would also say yep that Yep, they go get them. It's one and a half rounds You have one half rounds to blitz this fool because we know if it goes past that you're gonna Get melted Kevin Holland Michal
Starting point is 00:22:31 Oleg I call him Michelle. Oh Tough fight for Kevin. Oh, yeah rooting for Kevin. Oh no Other than that, you know, there we go, but is on Dustin Strickland, Paul Acosta, they announced Nick Diaz coming back. Huge. Against Luque. Huge to Sonan, it's interesting. And then Tony Ferguson.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Now I just saw the put Rogan sent to us, right? And he was like, you guys see this news? Now, I'm not sure how the comments went on social media, but did he just announce Nick Diaz and Tony Ferguson? It couldn't have went great. Is everyone okay? Did no one go, oh my God. That's what I saw, I went, no way.
Starting point is 00:23:14 It was a weird, like both matchups are kind of weird. Right? Yeah, true. Yeah, I mean, but it's huge. So now it's like huge. I went. I think it's huge. No, I went, oh no.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Nick Diaz finding Vicente Luque is not a good, that's a disaster. I mean, I don't understand that. I don't understand it. That's bad for Nick. We're talking about, I mean- Chiesa's no punk either for Tony. I just don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:40 I'm also not happy to see Tony. Michael Chiesa is no punk for Tony. Michael Chiesa is a disaster. Look, Tony is so awesome, but I don't understand. But have you, again, Diaz bro's great. I get all the people who love him. Have you guys been seeing Nick Diaz's social media lately? No.
Starting point is 00:23:59 No. Yeah. That's what alarms me. Yeah. See, I would, with Tony, I see I would I would Tony I Guess I get it right with his last hurrah. I assume it's his walk-off, you know song but versus keys is kind of that's you see Flip-flopped it the other way around right when I do Tony and Nick exactly that would be huge. That'd be way better Tony He's that's fun. Like yeah, Tony Nick like you're both
Starting point is 00:24:23 I think he goes hey Hey, hey, Tony vs. Nick and call. Hey, Tony vs. Nick everybody. Hey, right? Be cool. Now, the fight, your boy Corey Sandhagen is fighting the guy I've been talking about for a long time, Umar Nirmakhametov. And Umar Nirmakhamarov is the largest threat in the 35 pound class. He's a problem. He's a problem. If you like Neymar.
Starting point is 00:24:51 And Corey, I think Corey's his toughest matchup. Corey has, oh by far. Corey has so many tools, his footwork, he's dangerous everywhere. Also his mentality. He's ranked what? Number three killer. And what y'all fight number 11 guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:08 And when I had him in studio a while back, you know, cause he's, you know, same hometown. Yeah. He goes, dude, I'll fight anyone because when I'm champ, I want to know that I'm the, I can beat everybody. I didn't take the easy route. I didn't take good matchups. I can beat the worst matchup, the best matchups.
Starting point is 00:25:24 This is his biggest Challenge because Umar's wrestling is such a nightmare striking is a nightmare It's gonna be very interesting Umar. Umar. I think Corey's the toughest matchup for Sugar too. Mm-hmm I think Corey comes has a lot of weapons. He's a tough matchup for anybody. Yep, Christian Allen disciple, correct So this is gonna be all right. Should we bring our guests in? Listen, let's bring our guys I'm gonna do something for the sit down. Starting point is 00:26:58 because you don't remember. You didn't even fake it, dude? No, he's like, really? No recollection. Did we talk? I don't have any recollection. We talked all night. You looked into my eyes. I did look into, he's like, really? No recollection. Did we talk? I don't have any recollection. We talked all night. You looked into my eyes.
Starting point is 00:27:08 I did look into your eyes. You said a lot of nice things. But you and I have met before. Yeah, we met before. You remember. I remember. That's amazing. I remember as well.
Starting point is 00:27:15 And I have CT, dude. Really? Nah, we'll see. But I remember me. You don't know until you're dead, right? Yeah, they can't tell, but there's signs. There's speech and stuff, right? Pulse of behavior.
Starting point is 00:27:24 You're spending too much on a truck. Nah, I've always been that way. Yeah, you and I met. Yeah, where was it? It was at a premiere. Super World Party. Was it Super World Party? I think it was at Espey's.
Starting point is 00:27:36 I met up in the Espey's, but I think then we met another time. It was at a premiere for not the best movie, but it was with the Lea. I did a movie with the Lea. Oh, that's right, I met you there too. And we ended up hanging out that night. That's right.
Starting point is 00:27:48 It was Flock of Dudes. That's right. Flock of Dudes. I think I was in that movie. Every comedian was in that movie. That had the best cast ever. I think I had a little part. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Maybe not. You didn't come to the premiere. I think you were in that movie. I think I was. Yeah. I tend to do a lot of little parts and movies because I see yes to Everything but you guys are your big New York fans, but you're not from New York not originally no But now you claim New York I claim there it is there's in it. Oh wow
Starting point is 00:28:18 Awesome Wow Skyler was great. Yeah damn I was the best your wife is it? male Wait, did you guys shoot that in Florida was that when you were in Florida? No, we shot this in LA Was great. Yeah, damn The best your wife is it? That's right. It's a male Wait, did you guys shoot that in Florida? Was that when you were in Florida? No, we shot this in LA Oh, I remember you and you yeah, that's right That's right. All star cast like a lot of these people have their own I came to the premiere Yeah, yeah, you can stack a movie full of everybody, but if it's not a good movie, it's not a good movie You know what I'm saying? Everybody sometimes how you control me Hillary. Yeah, Hillary Duff is so hot in person You know, I worked with her fuck dude. I oh my god, dude. I worked out with her
Starting point is 00:28:50 You so hey, wait, were you did you work out in training up in Beverly? Yes. I seen you dude I think we cross paths when I first moved LA. Oh, yeah, he's dude. I did you he secured your He wasn't bet you but it was like one of the machines I wanted to use and I looked at how big he was and I was like, you know what, I'm gonna wait till you're done, man. That's what happened, I remember, dude. But Hillary was in there, yeah, and you're like, oh, she's like. And she was kind of like not in great shape at the time.
Starting point is 00:29:14 But then she got in B shape. B, she's got an A plus shape. She's in, she's, yeah, she's. Tim, and she's got like four kids. She just had another one recently, yeah. I mean, I saw, this is like seven years ago or whatever, and I remember she was at the improv, and I was just like, oh, well, you're fucking gorgeous.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Take it down a notch, will ya? All right, but she was. This is where you go, oh, you walk into a room, and they go, and you're talented? Oh, okay, yeah, you got it. Yeah, she's A-lister, yeah. Yeah. Sweetheart.
Starting point is 00:29:41 So you adopted New York? I adopted New York. Can you do that? It's from Omaha, Nebraska. Yeah. Cause I thought you were from New York just because the show, like that show, mine and my brother's favorite show.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Shout out to Jake. Favorite show of all time. Yeah, it was fun. In Colorado, y'all rockin' in to Colorado. Dude, we loved it. Cause we like fashion and the whole jeans. We loved it. So I was born in Omaha, Nebraska.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Then I moved to St. Louis when I was 12. And then when I was 18, I moved to New York to go to NYU, study acting. And that was the, so, and I've kind of been living there ever since, that was the late 90s. Are you still in New York? I'm still there, part time, yeah. So I was born and raised there, but like to go to your point,
Starting point is 00:30:21 like, can you embrace New York? I feel like New York is just such a city of immigrants so like if you at least have I don't know ten plus years there then you're a New Yorker this guy has a residency there too. If you're from Omaha Nebraska now let me ask you this yeah were you guys the only Jewish family in Omaha? Then we left and there's none left. Yeah there's none left but you have your the exodus. You're a ginger and you're an athletic kid so now That must be like he's German
Starting point is 00:30:55 No, I don't know there's a small Jewish community there. Yeah, very small. It started with the Greenberg family and then it's gone Yeah, but then you went to st. Louis. Yeah, they're a big Jewish community Sorry spread out into a Jewish thing. No, we should talk about pasta. We start we should get in all But yes, but my father's from New York he's from Queens actually there's like three generations from New York Yeah, it's in the blood yes the bagels in the blood yes the bagels in the blood. Yes, the bagels in the blood. Yes, the bagels in the blood Yes, you guys were so sad about the Knicks. So well not not so sad because we made it that far So far and like we had three starters out this year and we still went to the you know For because that Jalen brothers at the very end. Yeah That's right. I mean, come on if we were it we were, it's one of those years where we're like,
Starting point is 00:31:46 if we were healthy, we would've won the whole thing. Yeah. You know, we can say that. So it gives you an excuse. Yeah, you have a nice excuse. But dude, for you, I mean, Denver, that was a surprise last year. I was like, where did Denver come from?
Starting point is 00:31:56 I feel the same way about it. Not that you've been watching them all season. My brother's like- You knew it early on. Yeah, yeah. You didn't think they were going to make it this year? Hell yeah, we thought we were going to make it this year, next year. Oh yeah, I'm surprised you guys lost. Ridiculous. Yeah, that see they're gonna make it this year Hell yeah, we thought we thought we're gonna make it this year next year. Oh, yeah. No surprise you guys lost we take it Yeah, that was 20 point that a 20 point lead how strange. Yeah, it's ridiculous
Starting point is 00:32:12 The thing is to like with Denver it was like I remember even back then when like you guys had mellow and all them There was like a lot of high expectations for you guys. Oh, we had Carmelo and I Marcus can be right? Carmelo, AI, Marcus Kambi, Kenyon Martin. Yep. And you guys were stacked also, you guys had a great head coach, George Carl, right? Yeah, hell yeah. He was a genius.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Monster, yeah, but just. They just couldn't make it work. I think, yeah. And then we inherited. You guys are accurate, he just doesn't win. Yeah. And then he kicked off. Unless it's the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Unless it's the Olympics. With all the other guys. Yeah. And then he kicked off, Jim, what's the aging fellow's Olympics with all the other guys yeah yeah and then he kicked off Jim what's the aging fellas name oh Jeremy Jeremy we make this a racial we know why no but Brennan had his jersey, he had the whole insanity. Jay had the whole insanity, we used to rock his jersey, and then when you find out from Jeremy Lin talked about it,
Starting point is 00:33:12 dude, Mello was just mean to him. Yeah, because he was taking his time. Kobe Bryant was really mean to Jeremy Lin. Kobe Bryant called up, I can't remember who it was, maybe even Carlos Bueser, and he was like, I don't want to be on the same court as Jeremy Lin. I don't want to play with that guy. Wait, you serious? Jeremy Lin lit him up. A breakdown though, apparently about it. Well, cause he lit him up as a Nick. Jeremy Lin did light up Kobe as a Nick. I remember that.
Starting point is 00:33:36 You heard Jeremy Lin? It was a beast dude. That was the craziest like time, as I've been a Knicks fan, it's still my favorite time. Is it when Lynn was there? Yeah, that was insane what was happening. As a Knicks for me, as a Knicks fan, I think my favorite time, and I think you would, you would probably agree with this. Patrick Ewing?
Starting point is 00:33:54 Yeah, like 94. Stark? Yeah, when they had Ewing, Stark, because we were constantly in the playoffs. There was the constant rival of Jordan, Reggie Miller. Reggie Miller. And then I feel like there was another, Oh, then remember we had like a little bit of a beef with Tim Hardaway in the heat and then there was that
Starting point is 00:34:09 whole thing. We're good. Yeah. I'm not saying Lynn, but I feel like we needed it at the time when Lynn came. It's just that like the days were so dark, like it was so bleak during that time. And then all of a sudden, Jimmy Lynn just started lighting it up and you're like, as an expert, you're like, Oh my God, that was cool. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:34:24 I agree. What's happening? Yes, my God. That was cool. Oh my God. I agree. What's happening? Yes, I agree. There's light. Yeah. And then I took my two kiddos to the Padres game because they're playing the Yankees. My son super into baseball and he loves Aaron Judge because he's basically the Aaron Judge
Starting point is 00:34:37 of eight year olds. He's huge. Smart kid. Aaron Judge is massive. Yeah. I've been around big dudes, right? I've been around huge guys. We got, we were right behind the Yankees dugout with like the Yankee family and play in like all the fit
Starting point is 00:34:49 So we're surrounded by New York fans and my kids love New York's it's all good And I was like get ready to judge about to walk out and I you read on Wikipedia It's like six seven whatever 260 when he walked out like oh my god He's a beast so big and then and he's in clades. Oh, he's in clades. That's another two inches, but still. And then he runs the center field. So, you know, center field, you got to be one of the most athletic guys in the field because you got to get everywhere.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Yes. So I told Tiger, I'm like, dude, look at him. He's that big and he's that agile. Like that's the so first at bat, first pitch home run. Every judge cranks it. Oh, bro. That the entire city. I think he had like four home runs in the three game series,
Starting point is 00:35:27 like Savage. And your son gets to see it. Oh, that's great. And Aaron Judge waved at him. He's like, Aaron. Was he a Yankees fan, your kid? Yeah. Just because Aaron Judge, he likes players.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Smart kid. Yeah. Smart kid. I was going to say, one of the only times I got to sit behind the catchers, like right at the plate, I remember one time I was like, OK, yeah, I'm at a Yankee game. I'm like, this is cool, man. catchers, like right at the plate. I remember one time I was like, okay, yeah, I'm at a Yankee game, I'm like, this is cool, man,
Starting point is 00:35:47 we're at the back of the plate, I'm like two rows back, watching the pitch. I don't know if you guys ever had this before, but like you see it on TV, you see how fast they pitch. When the pitch goes past their glove, even though the net is there, your brain cannot process that. It's too fast.
Starting point is 00:36:02 It's too fast. I stood in the, I tried to hit off those guys. I went to their training camp, tried to hit off those guys. Two of the guys who played in the Yankees actually, one who starts now. And it was so ridiculous. And they pitched like they would in a regular game to you. Correct sir.
Starting point is 00:36:17 They were throwing changeups, fastball. The fastball's so fast, you gotta not be afraid because I was watching it and I said to my buddy Kevin, who trains him, I go, I play tennis watching it, and I said to my buddy Kevin, who trains him, I go, I play tennis, so I go, I can see the ball, I go, so you can get a piece of it. I'll give you $1,000. And when they would throw that fastball,
Starting point is 00:36:33 you were like, what, I mean, forget it, you better guess. You might as well guess. We have to start swinging the ball and guess. But even Aaron Judge is guessing, they look at the hand, the human eye can't keep up with the speed, so it is a form of guessing. Oh. Yeah, because human eye can't keep up with the speed, so it is a form of guessing. Because the human eye can't keep up with it that fast.
Starting point is 00:36:48 What about that guy, the guy who was great at the knuckler ball? I've never seen that in real life. Westfield. Westfield? No, Wakefield. Wakefield. Wakefield. And I remember when...
Starting point is 00:36:59 Wakefield died of cancer recently. Bummer. But no, Wakefield was amazing. Wakefield was going to retire, right? He was going to retire. And then he was like, I can do this knuckleball thing. And he was striking dudes out left and right. Dude, that added 10, 12 years to his career.
Starting point is 00:37:13 At least. Yeah. This is my thing. When you watch those pictures, and I never saw him in person, think about Randy Johnson. Oh. 6'7", 6'8"? No, he was 6'9", 6'10".
Starting point is 00:37:23 He was 6'10". Remember when he threw so fast he blew up the bird? I thought I could think of anything when I think of Randy Johnson. It's the bird exploding. The bird exploded. Which I think happened in New York by the way. So again, imagine fighting like Ian Garey, like Machida and his heyday. You don't see it until it's in game time. There's nothing in due to prepare for it.
Starting point is 00:37:42 With Randy Johnson, can we get a 610 pitch in here like sorry? Yeah, like what the fuck you what are you gonna do? We didn't get him in his good years though as a Yankee fan No, we got him kind of at the end, but we were still happy to have him. Yeah, do you remember when um, uh What's his name from the Mets? He used to light him up all the time It was like that one batter that Randy Johnson couldn't beat he used to I'm talking about smoke the ball Like you said we're Aaron Judge. Um small guy Dwight. He used to, I'm talking about smoke the ball, like you said, with Aaron Judge. Small guy? No, no, no, no, it was one of the stars for the Mets,
Starting point is 00:38:08 but he, every time, Piazza, Mike Piazza. Oh my God, dude, if you see the stats with the Piazza. No, Piazza played for the Dodgers, not for the Yankees. No, he played for the Yankees. For a second, for a hot second, it was like really quick, but it was, I think, the Dodgers, the Marlins, then the Mets, and I think he ended. His heyday was the Dodgers, right? He was massive, and I think he ended is his heyday was the Dodgers, right?
Starting point is 00:38:26 He was massive cuz I was collecting cards and the card was fired. Yes Actually people don't know this. I think he won. I'm almost positive He won a World Series that one year when the Marlins won with Mike Lowe Is that his name Mike Lowe the first baseman? Talk sports all day, dude I'm like, I love I'm so into it dude. Yeah Right, Mike. Oh, yeah, so they want to they won he won with the Marlins. I don't know maybe see I don't know go go to water Marlins are here. Oh, yeah go to Mike Piazza's
Starting point is 00:39:01 Piazza sorry everybody Mike Piazza. Here's one fave man. I love that guy and they were the rumor Yeah, sorry, where the rumor and Piazza. He was gay you know that no you remember that no it was like all over No, yeah, but was it true no It's just the money got so bad. He had to address it Was he Right yeah, you're right. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, you're right Yeah, and he was the man. He was the man with Randy Johnson. He's a smug Randy Anyway, but yeah, remember Roger Clemens pitched against him and hit him. Oh the head and yeah, they got a fight Yeah, yeah fight. What do you mean? No, he was
Starting point is 00:39:37 Shattered his hum. It was like this Piazza like this. Oh, yeah knocked him out That was the purpose. I cannot retain any sports. Like I'm so in the moment and then I forget all the stuff. It's like the only thing I can retain. Same. Speaking of which. Besides my lines when I'm doing a movie or a TV show.
Starting point is 00:39:53 I can't imagine, dude. Oh yeah. Like we have to do reads and stuff and you have to memorize it. You can't memorize all that. Dude, I have to keep going over it and over it. But sports, I can tell you like 90s to early 2000s colleges guys went to like random shit.
Starting point is 00:40:09 I'm like Rain Man when it comes to that and then full blown. It's all natural. It's got like matcha. Hold on let me get this and then I'm going to ask you a question. For our sponsors? Sorry boys. Cheers. So we started doing this.
Starting point is 00:40:20 I'm kind of a shock honey guy. I went straight up. We were taking this for their best commercial is when he took it and he was like talking and I go, hey, you look awake. I took one of those magic mimes. I go, did I tell you they work or what? Because I'm friends with the guy who started this. Why drink a ton of coffee?
Starting point is 00:40:37 I love that it says it crushes procrastination. I think that depends who you are, but yeah. Because the guy who invented it couldn't drink coffee anymore. It's a hard thing. So it's the only nootropic I take. It's the only thing I take. I've taken it, but I just I don't know if it makes a difference. I don't know. I don't know which one. Maybe I don't take enough of it. I don't know. I live for it. It tastes good though. I drink about four of them a day. Speaking of numbers just real quick, like for me I think it's not about the numbers when it comes to sports. It's about like all the moments that happen.
Starting point is 00:41:05 I'm not a numbers kind of person. So when I watch, yeah, I'm not a stats guy. I can give you dates. Yeah, and I can tell that by talking to you that you know it through stats and dates and all that. It's weird what we were going to, yeah. I think because you only have so much. Are you good at Jeopardy?
Starting point is 00:41:21 Yes. You can just retain crazy. Crush Jeopardy. I feel like you're good at Jeopardy. I'm good at Jeopardy, yeah. Yeah, you can just retain like crazy. Yeah. Okay. I feel like you're good at I'm good at Jeopardy. Yeah, but did you watch it? I watch it all the time So me and my wife and my kids and I'll try and impress them I get a lot of them wrong, but I'm like, yeah, whatever but They had the Masters Jeopardy on there was like the four. I can't get any of those. Oh, it's
Starting point is 00:41:40 Like I feel really dumb. It might as well be you know, I get maybe one Portuguese. Yeah, it's so tough Yeah, yeah, they just nail it. Yeah that guy James Holtz our why yeah He's like a professor's and librarians like he's a professional gambler in Vegas and yeah, it's crazy But I think they make money just as being being on Jeff My father my father is one of those people my father can he just knows kind of everything So my dad's weird like that. If you say, what is Brazil export? He knows exactly what they export.
Starting point is 00:42:09 You can ask him anything. But you know who, not to one up your dad, you know who's the best? Who? Joe Rogan. Just like random facts. Just a little bit about everything or just knows everything? Just from podcasting. Just, you know, and he's interested in so many things, like he knows a little bit about
Starting point is 00:42:21 everything. I call him, I call him. Like whoever he has on his pod, like he'll obviously do some research and read about it, but even if you're just talking on the pod or just in general, cars or whatever, I know my shit when it comes to cars or fighting, he'll be able to retain so much. And I'm like, how do you know about this?
Starting point is 00:42:37 He's my go-to when I call him, when I want to know if something works, I'll be like, does this supplement work? Or I call him about Blue Light. I was like, what do you know about Blue Light? Because I know he's going to know, because he talks to all the cutting edge scientists, and also he's into that stuff. So I'll call him, I'm like, hey, will Blue Light lower
Starting point is 00:42:53 my testosterone? He's like, fuck off, no. It all depends. This is your dad? No, this is Joe Rogan. OK, sorry. His father. My Rogan?
Starting point is 00:43:01 His father, Joe Rogan. But I called him Rogan. You guys caught that, right? But he does call Joe Rogan daddy. I call Joe Rogan daddy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is daddy. That is daddy. Daddy is so successful.
Starting point is 00:43:11 I have a question. And so he says, what is daddy? That's why he's so successful, yeah. Yeah, because he can talk to anybody about everything. Where we can't. He's interested in everything. Well, let's do some current events. I want to get you guys taking a shit. Let's do some current events. I want to get you guys to take a shit.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Let's see what's trending. Wow. What is trending? I don't know anymore. Since you guys do a podcast, what do you guys talk about on your podcast? We're just figuring it out. You guys just launched it? Yeah, we just launched it.
Starting point is 00:43:35 We have no idea. Before we jump to that, how did, how to make it in America not get a site, like there was such a demand, even now you see it pop up, you're like, bring it back. And then even on site like there's there was such a demand even now you see it pop up you're like bring it back and then even on Twitter there's this whole thread chain that was like shows that need to be brought back it's like it's it's that show with you guys you and your brother watched that
Starting point is 00:43:55 religiously a lot of people did yeah it's fucking great it's so well done that's that's how he was in it yeah who will have as a guest to that that's kind of why we started the podcast because for the 10 years or 12 years that after the show was cancelled We always get approached by fans always going like why did they cancel? So after 10 years of that shit me and Brian looked at each other like we got to do something Yeah, just do this podcast. Yeah, and then there was rumors like oh, it's cuz kid Cuddy It was made like he agreed to it made it difficult and I don't believe that his car. I don't believe I don't believe any of them No, I don't believe any of that's I'm like, yeah, there has to be something made it difficult. No. He got his car blown up. I don't believe in any of that. I don't believe any of that.
Starting point is 00:44:27 I'm like, yeah, there has to be something going on with the network. Honestly, yeah, it's more the network thing. It hit a generation of people who are about dreaming and hustling. It was like that hipster generation, right? It really spoke to young entrepreneurs and people who were just like chasing after their dreams but it wasn't a huge critical success so we weren't getting like crazy reviews and this was before social media was a thing and people were stealing the show constantly and the ratings were so the ratings were kind of low but everybody was seeing it so it
Starting point is 00:45:03 just wasn't registering on the execs level. Have you tried to repitch it? I have not. No. I don't really have any interest. Because the internet now could be. I mean, I think we both, we all would do it. The magic might be gone.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Maybe. I know, I think it'll still work. But also, you look at Netflix. They just like, you guys are going to make fun of me. Like, I've never seen Breaking Bad. And me and my wife need a show. And I was like, I haven't seen Breaking Bad. No, I'm on season two now.
Starting point is 00:45:24 It's fantastic. I get the hype. So jealous when you can watch it with your friends. It's so much fun. But I feel like that show could be something because Netflix, what they're doing now is like shows that were big in the past, they're relaunching on there and like,
Starting point is 00:45:36 I know I'm a moron, I've never seen Breaking Bad. Now I'm into it. But even like that show could live on there. But also HBO, they're like, oh yeah, we would. We have a little show called Game of Thrones. Yeah. Right. And we spent all our money on fake dragons. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:45:52 Hold on. They're not fucking fake. They are fake? No. What? What? But it could be like they just went a different path. They're like literally all our attention
Starting point is 00:46:02 is on Game of Thrones or whatever it is. Yeah, I just don't know if it was registering with the execs on their level even though it was in our echo chambers you know and it was like a younger demo cuz it's like so fashion yeah entrepreneur yeah then it was like so New York and you had kid Cuddy who was an as big as at the time right wouldn't really like if he was on now it'd be massive right yeah but like they're like you know like he was an as big unless you knew who he was on now, it'd be massive, right? But like there, like, you know, like he was in Asbeak unless you knew who he was.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Right, right. I mean, listen, we're doing the podcast, obviously, and you know, if it gets hype, you know, and then like we get approached by a network or whatever, of course we would do it, but we decided because being actors and being in the industry, as you know, like you got to have expectations super low
Starting point is 00:46:41 because you know that in this industry, nothing is- Yeah, but what you have going for you, it's just two straight guys doing a podcast. We need more of that. Am I an actor if I don't have a podcast? That's what I was asking myself. But it's also like, uh, my, I do a show, Goldeneye were there at Griffin. He's on workaholics. Like Matt, he has a big role on the, like people love him. and all the boys agreed that a script and Paramount was it was all set They had the budget and then they just yanked it last second like that stuff right now just doesn't fit in 2024
Starting point is 00:47:15 Yeah, like what would you ever get into acting? Yeah, I'd be down I'm not doing some bull shit He did acting okay, I didn't know've done some bullshit. Why are we laughing over here? I know, the only reason I'm asking is because, no, no, no. I'm not, because he did acting. Okay, I didn't know. Okay, you did some acting. Well, that's a loose term. I was in Tax Collector with Shia LaBeouf. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Are you a thespian? Are you a thespian? Are you a fellow thespian? No. Is this guy a thespian? I'm spread thin as it is. It'd be tough. Were you in a mask the whole time?
Starting point is 00:47:40 I was, I played a cartel member and I was in a mask the whole time and I didn't get how movies work. And they gave me, we're in the middle of the hood Yeah, Shia LaBeouf's like he keeps dying and I and I was like, man, he's such good actor. I was like blown No way. I was like so into it and he kept he had died like reset and they would do it I'm like I was taking forever. Yeah dies and reset. I'm like, this is terrible like Negro. You're up. I'm like, oh hell Yeah, and then the guy's that was your name. Yeah Negro. Okay
Starting point is 00:48:04 I was a cartel member. I couldn't like give me the mask and I was like, oh no, I don't need the mask Like oh no, you're kicked as the mask. I'm like, okay And I'm like I want people to see me so I didn't have the mask on it and I'm like shooting at Shia LaBeouf I'm like cut What's it Negro put the mask on I was like, I don't need the mask I don't need the mask like you gotta have the mask on so I put it on but then I put It like here so I could yeah Like hopefully my friends see this I'm off good good cut
Starting point is 00:48:31 Negro and I can tell you again or get the hell out of here. I'm like, all right Wait, that was your introduction to the bid. That was it Was doing a move and then the movie bomb yeah Shia LaBeouf called it like we were at Crabby. He knew right away. We were at Craft Services and he was like, oh, that's going to eat shit. This girl I dated so, so pretty. I remember in New York, it was her first movie scene, but she was an extra. She had to be the hot girl walking by the camera. And it was a movie with Chris Walken. Fuckin, what was the name of the movie? And you just, she, she walks by, my buddy was there,
Starting point is 00:49:05 he told me, he goes, she walks by and she just goes, and there's the camera and she goes like this, she goes. Right at the camera, looks right at the camera. Don't look at the camera, sweetheart. Yeah. Don't look at the camera, just keep walking. It's tough. Yeah, I don't want a mask on, you know?
Starting point is 00:49:20 I feel like a lot of comedians hate being in movies. Like, I've worked with a lot of stand-up comedians. Yeah, it's just boring. It's so boring for you guys. I was an actor first, and I never, I told him, I said, it took me a long time to admit this, I was never on a set where I didn't want it to end. Really?
Starting point is 00:49:36 Yeah, I just find the piecemeal nature of it. I love theater, I love stand-up. That's my thing, but when you are on a set. Well, you get that instant adrenaline when you're doing that did hang I did ride along me and John Leguizano Yeah, of course Yeah, we're hanging and we ended up reading a bunch of David Mamet plays out loud to each other We were so bored in the fuckers like hurry up and wait Yeah
Starting point is 00:49:57 And then we'd go and we'd have our thing and then we'd do our thing and it was like god damn But you guys love it So yeah, I was just to add to your point like for us I think the thrill like when they're like, we're ready for you, that is what we live for. Yeah, and like, even though the action and cut is kind of obviously short-lived as opposed to theater, like that's what we live for.
Starting point is 00:50:14 So that's why I find it interesting for you it's not. No, well, it's so fun when you're actually doing it, but even then so much of it is you're doing the same scene 15, 20 times, depending on the angle. So for me, it's true. Is it different if you're like Jason Momoa and you're like the star? No, not at all, it's worse.
Starting point is 00:50:33 No, it's too good. I'm saying is it different because it's his thing, like he's the focal point? Let me show you this, watch this. No, I know, I know. No, no, I'm saying Jason Momoa spends a lot of time, you're on a lot, and you're in a giant warehouse, I'm gonna crush this argument. You got this. Yep. Keep going Yep, cut. Yep. Keep going and look up
Starting point is 00:51:02 You're doing that shit all day. Crazy right? Fuck you. No, fuck you. Hey Chin, do me a favor, bring up how much Momoa made for Aquaman. I understand. There you go. I would be like, what? Of course you would.
Starting point is 00:51:13 Cut! You've been standing there all day like how long you've been on fire energy. Put another seahorse back there. Hey Momoa, you might as well put a whale up front. Load him up. How much? Load him up. Straight up. 100%. 100%. Hey, but, well, you might have put a whale up front. Load him up. How much? Load him up. Straight up. 100%.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Well, but the hearsay. I'm mad at that. I'm mad at that. No, it is, but. But I remember this. I remember this. So remember Nick Nolte, right? Nick Nolte.
Starting point is 00:51:32 That's a lot of money. How much some? Yeah. Yeah. Now, Nick Nolte. Great actor. Hall of Famer. Hall of Famer.
Starting point is 00:51:37 Yeah, of course. Especially if you're my age. If you're my age, knew him. 80s, 90s. You know, incredible. We're doing Warrior. And we're in the background. Nick Nolte and we're in the background of the thing.
Starting point is 00:51:53 We have to be talking, fake talking, while the scene's going on here. Now, please understand, you're in Pittsburgh, and you'll do that all day. You'll sit there and talk. I did Oz, that TV show. You're in the background in an aquarium. You're fake talking.
Starting point is 00:52:11 You're there all day and you might do that for four days because they have to get this shot. It was like ER, they would go crazy in ER. ER's awesome, you're a star. You have to be doing surgery while they're doing a scene here, but bro, you're there for, you're there for, your day is 12 hours. I know.
Starting point is 00:52:27 A fake surgery. I was there, dude. I know, I know. You were there. First of all, with uh- That's where I go crazy. Oh, I see. And even Nick Nolte, I said to him, I go, you're fucking this huge famous star.
Starting point is 00:52:36 And he goes, it's part of the job. It's part of the job. Some actors like Pacino and De Niro go, it's not happening. We're going to figure this out. But even they, everybody has to do that There's a I don't I don't do it. I'm like, oh, this is where my character gets a cup of coffee I know I know you try to get out of it early king of getting out of those. Yeah, I am always just like Oh, I know I watched the rehearsals. I'm like, how can I get lost? How can I get lost? That was Gavin O'Connor, right?
Starting point is 00:53:01 Who did uh, how was he working with? It's great, man. He's been a good friend of mine. Joel Everton was awesome. Yeah, Joel's great. I've known Joel forever. Gavin's uncompromising. Yeah, well that's kind of what I was kind of hinting at. Both of you, you got into acting out of Omaha? Yeah, actually I was doing like plays.
Starting point is 00:53:17 In the school, just loved it. Loved it, yeah. Yeah, and then I didn't know anybody in St. Louis when I moved when I was 12 and I was like, well, I met people doing that. so I was just like a theater kid Look O'Reilly Auto Parts who are in the business of keeping your car on the road O'Reilly Auto Parts offer friendly helpful service and the parts knowledge you need for all your maintenance and Repairs, okay, they got thousands of parts and accessories in stock either in store or online

Starting point is 00:54:39 St. Louis I always wanted to go to New York and that was my goal so I went to NYU. I'm like one of those people that was like hyper focused at a young age and I'm actually doing what I love to do. Love it. Yeah, I still love it. That's what every parent wants for the kid. I really love it. Have a passion, run with it.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Yeah. And then you just got into it. Yeah, yeah. So I was born and raised in the East Village in New York and NYU obviously there was a lot of college students shooting. I live close by. I don't know if you guys know Thompson Square Park. It's a pretty well known park. I know it very well. know you yeah, so I remember when it was when they cleared it out
Starting point is 00:55:08 10th City is basically from New York Panic and needle park So I lived on Avenue A and 11th, but this is back in fucking 1990 and 91 sir. Yeah We call it anger adventurist, beer crazy, beer hold, see you're crazy A, you're adventurous. You're talking. B, you're crazy. B, you're bold. C, you're crazy. And D, you're dead. Hold on. I got you right here.
Starting point is 00:55:26 Just like you got him, I got you right here. I was born and raised on 8th Street and Avenue D. And you know, you couldn't even go east of Avenue A. You could not. And I was already three blocks east. Dude, when Brian grew up, whites and blacks, sirs. You know. Damn.
Starting point is 00:55:40 He owns it. Don't go down there as a white dude. You're going to get jumped. Unless you know somebody. Listen, you said it, not me. But yes. So people don't understand it, right? So when I used to, in 90, in 90.
Starting point is 00:55:49 In 47. When I went. I know every block you're gonna say, so go ahead. If I tried to go from Cross House and into Ludlow, Rivington, please don't do that as a white. You gotta be, my boy John Joseph had to walk me. You wouldn't even get to Delancey Street, they would've fucked you up.
Starting point is 00:56:02 I'm telling you. I know. So, so, so, so, New York safe even though the so much way safer now Oh my god, the way most of my homies have been shipped out to the Bronx because of the gentrification There now they put a whole food D The projects right there right to the FDR drive that's crazy No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 00:56:23 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Roots are all new on the whole Italian side are on but you grew up in New York born and raised in Brooklyn I grew up all over long stories dad was a fed. Yeah, that's probably why we never met each other Yeah, but you know you met you mentioned John Leguizamo Just shout out to John Leguizamo because he's a huge reason why I started acting cuz a spawn
Starting point is 00:56:55 John was the first Latin he was a pioneer because he was the first I'm gonna let you take it over You know the first Latin super star you take it over you know the place Latin super star you know the play that inspired me right oh which one I saw that I saw Freak as a kid and I was like I want to do that yeah he's so talented and then he had a one man show like probably like three or four years ago get a clown sexaholic sex he's so talented no but that's that's actually that was his like stomping grounds was one man shows Broadway and then he got into film I love I was making a joke about spawn. I love spawn. No, no, I know but it's just funny cuz like we know
Starting point is 00:57:32 So John John was The first really in a way he had a sketch show for a while. But John was this was a spikarama kid No house of house of house of house of buggin house of bugging bro Thank you show Spick-A-Rama was a real show. No, that's it. That's a one-man show There was a one-man show. So so he was the first person John Legosamo Went to Broadway with something he wrote and he was the first person in a lot of ways to bring to white rich people and the mainstream, the Hispanic experience, the Hispanic New York experience.
Starting point is 00:58:11 He's a Jackie Robinson. The family, the dysfunction, the function, the beauty, the ugly, all of it. So he was, and correct me if I'm wrong. He played every role in his family. He literally did an impersonation of his TT, of his abuela all in one in a two-hour one out Yes, and it was like this kid who was like savage hip-hop kid. You know my favorite movie was beautiful Empire Yeah, that's a good one Yeah, I mean listen nothing could tell Benny Blanco on me come on Carlitos way. Yeah, bro
Starting point is 00:58:43 Which by the way, I found out later, I read later that he got Spawn, your favorite movie, from doing Carlitos Way and he got like, that was like his first, he talked about it, it was his first crazy payday was on Spawn. Damn. I mean, I'm sure he's got many paydays since that. His other payday was that, was that,
Starting point is 00:58:58 the ferret, the ferret who talks like this. Wait, the pest? The ferret on Ice Age. Ice Age, yeah. Oh, they're still cranking those out. Oh, he made some money. Mike is love though? The ferret on Ice Age. Ice Age, yeah. Oh, they're still cranking those out. He made some money. My kids love those. He did a good one, I was in the way, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:09 He made some money on that. Oh yeah. I would be with him sometimes. That's Pixar. Yeah, tell me how it was working with him. Oh, bro, the best. But we were having breakfast at Chateau Marmont, right? We love this shit.
Starting point is 00:59:20 So we're just having breakfast, man. I hadn't seen him in a while. He's from New York, he's from Sierra, and we're just blah, blah, blah, talking, talking. And so a couple times, I remember when we were doing ride along, he goes, I got a friend coming, you'll like this. I go, oh, I guess you'll like it. So we're in the lobby of the hotel.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Arnold Schwarzenegger shows up. We have dinner, we have dinner, yeah, it was pretty cool. So it was just me, Johnny and Meg. You remember? Because they did Eraser together many years before. Yeah. Oh, yeah, you know your shit. Yeah, and I had read a book on top politics, so I had a lot to talk about.
Starting point is 00:59:46 It was fucking beautiful. Remember when we went to, what's the movie festival in Utah? Sundance. We went to, me and Brian went to Sundance. Brian had a scarf on which I didn't approve of either. You saw Johnny Legs, and you go, Johnny, what's up? Why are you wearing that scarf? And I went, fuck yeah, there we go, get him.
Starting point is 01:00:03 I like this guy. Oh, Johnny's, I like this guy. I like this guy. I like this guy. Johnny gets me. So I'm having dinner with, I'm sorry, breakfast with him, had a chat with my mom. And Philip Seymour Hoffman comes up, and it was two weeks before he died, and he looked yellow, but he's such an amazing actor.
Starting point is 01:00:17 And he had a cigarette, he had a cigarette in his mouth, and he was talking to it the whole time. The whole time. Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was talking to it the whole time. He didn't take it off. He got out there and I saw the cigarette. And I was like, well, there it is, okay. The whole time. It was the whole time. It didn't take it off. It got out there and I saw the cigarette. And it was just, I was like, well, there it is.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Okay, went out there. Then a dude comes up and it's very, very thin, older man. And we're talking and I noticed one thing, he didn't have any ass. He just had, so skinny. Yeah, I noticed that too. The first thing you notice. And a very large nose and I thought to myself,
Starting point is 01:00:41 as we're talking, I thought, and this is all bullshit aside, this is fucking Sean Penn at 80, right? Like I was like this myself, as we're talking, I thought, and this is all bullshit aside, this is fucking Sean Penn at 80, right? Like I was like, this guy. So we're talking. Hold on, I'm just writing down the names you're dropping. Hold on, these are names. Hold on, we've been moving on for one hour.
Starting point is 01:00:53 And then I realized it was Sean Penn. Shut up. Yes, and he was so sweet. And you know who the waiter was? Robert De Niro. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He was so nice, but it was so interesting because he must have been going through something
Starting point is 01:01:06 because he hadn't been eaten. Sean Penn? Yeah, because he's my favorite actor. Probably in a war zone somewhere. I love that dude. He's one of my favorite. But he just looked. I don't know what was happening.
Starting point is 01:01:14 That's why he's stressed out trying to solve the El Chapo shit. Well, when you smoke that much, he looked like he'd been rolling out. He's the reason El Chapo got busted. That's right. That's one of the reasons. That story's insane.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Dude, just one last thing to wrap up with the John Aguizamo thing, which is going to trip you out. So I was on 8th and D. Guess where John was? His mom lives down there on D. 7th between D and C. So I'd always bump into him. And then, so when I saw Freak, and I saw him, I actually approached him as a kid.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Yeah. I had the balls to just go up to him, right? Because he was a big deal at the time. I think he was still living down there when I was living. He was on the block from you. You were on 7th and C, yeah. But anyway, so John was also in the hood when I was in the hood. But he was in the brownstone, I was in the projects.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Bro, that's so cool. You grew up in a dangerous, you grew up in one of the most dangerous parts of New York City. At the time especially. Do you remember the squatters and the riots between, yeah, I was there for that too. I was there too, but now over there. Bro, they found, so check this out, Thompson Square Park, when they cleared it out, because it was a homeless encampment, basically, and it was dangerous as fuck.
Starting point is 01:02:09 Which is now a dog park, by the way. But yes, it is. So dangerous back then. I remember a dude pulled out a machete on us. I got so many stories. But anyway, we go there. We're all bullshit aside. When they closed that up,
Starting point is 01:02:18 they were doing samples of the soil. They found medieval diseases in that soil. No, they didn't. They found tetanus, they found tetanus, they found bubonic plague, for real. They found crazy shit in that soil. In Thompson Square Park, in the soil. Yeah, because they'd been a squatter camp for so long. Oh wow.
Starting point is 01:02:35 They found crazy shit. Do you remember in Tompkins Square Park? How about this? I don't know if you remember this. Tell me, I was talking. Bro, this was in the 80s maybe. Do you know John Joseph? Yes. Okay, so that's my boy
Starting point is 01:02:45 So so so there was a guy he cameras name was crazy Eddie or something like that so he had his girlfriend blah blah blah they break up and Crazy Eddie had a basically a barbecue for everybody. He had he made this big Like a block party type of this big stew for everybody, you know And everybody's coming to having a party and everybody's eating stew and having a good time That was his girlfriend. He cooked, he killed his girlfriend. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Nah, I don't believe that bro. Nah. Look that up. That made the news. And you had some of the stew? No, no, no. This is some Dahmer shit. Shut up, man.
Starting point is 01:03:19 It's Dahmer shit, but that guy, that's how I got my girlfriend. You had a walk party with his wife's stew? Yeah. Jesus Christ. I don't know about that one. But it might've been in the, it might've been in the. I can't verify that one. I don't know about my girlfriend. Yeah, he had a long party with his wife, Stu? Yeah. Jesus, cool. I don't know about that one. But it might have been in the, it might have been in the. I can't verify that one. I don't know about that one.
Starting point is 01:03:29 When were you born? 84. I should call John right now because he knows the whole story. Did Giuliani clean up that area? I was there when Giuliani was there. Oh, that's what happened. He cleaned it up. That's what happened.
Starting point is 01:03:40 Now people make fun of him, right? But he was a badass. I mean, he made New York a mob. He was a police state. It was basically a police state. Yeah, but he made it better in a lot of ways. He cleaned it up. The Fulton Fish Market, that was all mafia. When he closed that shit down, they set it on fire.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Oh yeah. Yeah. Tompkins Square Park. Yeah, he made it white as two. It's so funny because Tompkins, I always say, people used to say, Tompkins? Because you know, actually spelled like T-O-M-T-H-O. I pronounce that as so.
Starting point is 01:04:04 I know, but I'm saying When you get that New York education, that's kind of sometimes and cooks his girlfriend Yeah, this is I'm actually really I don't know what's real. What's not real? This was this I mean listen man I've I've seen some crazy shit in Lower East side. Okay shit in lower east okay on is a man Missouri though he's village why you're right the woman he believes his living oh Billy's topless yep yeah wait what he did make this do huh yeah that's made made soup boiled her head and made soup from her brain Like did they refer to its dangerous deep rain? That's yes
Starting point is 01:04:52 Everyone knows okay, so maybe now that they said he I thought he was handing out shit in in in the park Do you think you exaggerated a little? Is a fun story and I appreciate we all had a good time with it. But do you think you kind of exaggerated a little bit? I didn't exaggerate. That's what that was. That what that was the state. And I like, I like your name fast Eddie better than this. Daniel, there's a fast Eddie.
Starting point is 01:05:14 Yeah. They call it some weird name. He said there's a block party. Her ribs were brisket. Or maybe it's about crazy legs. Crazy legs. Crazy legs. Yeah. I'll say crazy legs. And yeah. And they, the way they spice them, there's a whole thing on spices.
Starting point is 01:05:25 Okay, okay, okay, all right, all right. You know what's great about the internet? You got me on that one, all right. It's great about the internet. Somebody tells a story and you're like, well, let's look at the action. I'm gonna have live fact checking on this. We shouldn't have done live fact checking
Starting point is 01:05:35 because my story's way better than that. Yeah, I don't like fact checking. I don't like fact checking. Yeah, because then it's like, ah, fuck it. I have a barbecue. Oh, we're gonna get everything right. Yeah. So you know what I want to ask you is, do it, I don't have a barbecue. Oh, we're going to get everything right. Yeah. So you know what I want to ask you is, do you miss fighting?
Starting point is 01:05:47 No. No? Not at all? No. I got so much respect for what you, because I don't want to cut you off, but like, for what we do as actors, like, I feel, so I became over the years, like, I was, like, your guys' discipline
Starting point is 01:05:59 is something that as actors, I like, there's nothing, like, to sort of compare it. Like, I'm so into what you guys do like long story short later in the years like I became friends with Anderson Silva and Anderson so guys great guy as you know yeah he was kind enough to like toward the end of his career his last few fights invite me to his training camp and dude here yeah yeah yeah yeah so cuz he had a couple times you for Jake Paul that one. No
Starting point is 01:06:26 Oh, yes, I did go to the Jake Paul and I went to Canelo one That was a big because he went to Mexico City for that one. No, no Yeah Julio Sanz's job is June. I'm sorry shit on him. Yes Yes, but anyway long story short what I'm saying is that like the reason why I'm asking you if you miss it is because I just See the amount of discipline and dedication and for us as actors I just have so much respect for what you guys do so I always wonder like when you guys get to that point in your careers like Anderson I asked him the same thing and
Starting point is 01:06:52 he says the same thing he's like he says I'm not gonna miss it when I'm done he goes I like put in the work I did everything I think I think it's so exhausting like it's that chase is so exhausting but on the contrary it's that chase is so exhausting, but on the contrary, it's like when I, you know, I haven't been on set with anybody here, but like it might be the unknown, right? Like you guys respect the fighters, we respect the actors and other crafts, but like when I saw Shia LaBeouf, I was like,
Starting point is 01:07:18 oh my, like it was so foreign and alien to me. I was so into it. I was like, how does he do it, man? So I'm sure it's similar. Like when you see Anderson Silva, I'm nowhere near Anderson Silva's level, but when you see Anderson Silva, it's like, holy shit, how does he do it? I think cause I know how the sausage is made. I don't look up to those guys. Like I've been there, done it. I've been around them. I know the work great. It worked out for you. But when I see like actors or like something artists or artists, when I see that, like Shiloh,, I was like, I was like blown away.
Starting point is 01:07:48 I feel the same way about actors. Like I don't get starstruck with actors because you have to be able to think you can compete or like play with them. Same with fighters. He can't be in awe. He gave me a lot of heels. Right. There's not a fight. Same with fighters. You don't feel like you're ever intimidated by any. Never. Never. Most of the time I think I can beat them up. Most of it. And that's just the old Yeah, like competitive kind of can most of them, but that's a train. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, I work out Yeah, yeah, I'll roll still
Starting point is 01:08:16 You still roll. I know But I but when it comes to like the fighters never not never get starstruck none of that's fun to me, right? But like actors and like that like especially like that craft dude but I saw I was talking to the guys at this car shop they're like the best in the world I never get too into it because I like I don't think it's impressive like LeBron Duncan like that's different he was born with those gifts but when it comes to like fighting or like if this guy's a black belt or this guy has his PhD, to me, it's like, you guys could have done it. I'm not disrespecting acting, but if I focus on acting,
Starting point is 01:08:52 I feel like I could do something with it. I just chose to go this path. I put the hours in, you chose to do that path, you put the hours in, and you made your lane, I made my lane, so I always feel like it's just choices people make so who can all make it who do you get starstruck by like who are you in awe of fighter not fighter I guess why you saying yeah there's no
Starting point is 01:09:14 fighters no nobody even non fighters are you like met in your life I'm trying to see I don't know Obama I was pretty impressed by Obama how many people we drove her what's that what What? In the pizza basement. Yeah. Pizza basement. Yeah. He was impressive. Yeah. No, there's something impressive about Obama. There's people who can like see the world on a like, like look at it like a chessboard. Like I get too caught up in the minutia. I get, there's no way I can handle the job. Peter Thiel was that way for me. I had dinner with him. Oh, wow. Yeah. And I realized, I was like, you're so much smarter.
Starting point is 01:09:47 You know what happened to me when I was talking to him? I went, when I talk, I'm just putting together things I've read or heard. He's having original thoughts as we speak. He's giving me takes on politics and things I've never heard or thought of. And that's where I went, oh, that's the difference. Your brain works different. That's the fuck, well, he's a leopard and I'm a fucking snail in terms of,
Starting point is 01:10:11 don't try to run a race with certain people. Right. Who would you, you got starstruck around here. I was so impressed. I was like. We're super close with Rogan, who might be the most famous guy on the planet. We've known him for so long.
Starting point is 01:10:23 That's my friend. Yeah, so it's like, yeah. So you can't be like, Oh, I'm so sure. Cause that's the homie. You guys came up. He's the homie. You know what I'm just saying? Like he's like, he's so famous and normal. I don't know. I don't know. You get older and you're like, you know how, again, it's like as you get older and you do enough things, sometimes you see a great concert pianist. It's a, it's like as you get older and you do enough things, sometimes you see a great concert pianist.
Starting point is 01:10:46 It's a dark room. But if you've done other things, you get a flashlight into that room a little bit. You know that there's a system. And you get to entertainers, and you're on the road, and you're in, like, so it's not, like, you're interviewing people all the time, so you're meeting all types of people.
Starting point is 01:11:00 You're probably not as starstruck as somebody who doesn't leave their house as a nine to five. So Colby Covington came to my show, my standup this weekend, and Colby Covington's a phenomenal fighter. And it was so interesting because I'm so impressed with what he can do. And then he was so impressed,
Starting point is 01:11:16 because he was like, you were talking to me, and then you just walked on stage. How the fuck do you, you know? So for him, it was such a mystery. Because what I do is so different in a lot of ways. But then I look at him and I go, you followed Leon Edwards with a broken foot, like for 25 minutes, how the fuck, you know.
Starting point is 01:11:33 So, so much of it is, again, it's just a mystery. A lot of doors are closed to us. So when I see a theoretical mathematician, like Eric Weinstein talking about why he loves math, and how he thinks of the universe and the world and reality, I'm like, holy shit, I'm so blind to certain things. Because there are certain truths.
Starting point is 01:11:54 Well then that's why you ask your dad. If you're blind, it's you ask your dad. I ask my father. I ask my father. Fellas, I wanna be by this truck guy, I've been waiting months for this. What do you got? You got a new truck being delivered right now?
Starting point is 01:12:05 No, I have them pick up my truck take to Texas. Oh, if I miss it, I'm Cyber truck is it it's not T. R. X. He didn't fuck with electric Yeah, do your thing by the way the whole the whole politics with Elon I don't give a fuck about any of that I love the car about but I hate the cyber truck. Just aesthetically. I like it. Save it. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:12:29 Oh boy. Look at him walking. Look at how dainty. I can't believe fucking Lori's side. Come on, baby. So funny, man. I didn't even know a lot of this shit that like, especially you were like, I grew up, yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:40 I took him one time when we were working together on how to make shit in the microwave. Yeah, boy. Oh, we should save it, all right, sorry. No, what? We can keep this in. Keep going. No, no, I was gonna say when when we were working together Yeah, oh, we should save our yeah. No what don't get this in going? No, no, I was gonna say when I'm talking to the mic Oh, yeah, so so so so when I when we first started shooting how to make it in America I said Brian, you know, like we were gonna know each other We just got cast and I was like do you want to come to see what I grew up?
Starting point is 01:12:59 Like let's go to the projects Jacob Reese projects. Yeah, and Brian. That's why I love this I mean, I love this for so many reasons but he's just like yeah whatever like yeah he's down he's down yeah so he goes yeah let's go so I take him right we go up there I'm the elevator you would appreciate this shit too man so he goes up the stairs first of all pisses shit through the fucking stairs right cuz you went up there you went up the stairs but I had you come down the elevator I remember this so we went up the stairs pisses shit everywhere cuz you know we're in the projects so knock on my
Starting point is 01:13:29 aunt's door TT you there's Vic opens the door you know actually it wasn't one of these it was one of those old school project did you there I'm here with Brian she knew you were coming she cooked you know she cooked a little hot oh scooby-dweller eyes and some chuletas you know so so some Dominican food right so Brian walks in and do you know Brian? What are you six six one six six six feet? So Brian at six feet when you go on the projects on five seven, do we know the project? Yo, yeah, it's like you're like touch. This is so funny. Yeah. Yeah, that's so interesting You say that when you go to the projects everybody's short
Starting point is 01:14:01 Yeah When you go to the like if you go to a bar in the upper east or west side, you got all those white kids who went to Harvard, they had good nutrition, they drank milk, they had, check it out, they had plenty of sleep, no bullshit, they had sleep. That was my point right there, you got it, that's it. They got sleep, they had no stress,
Starting point is 01:14:22 and they drank milk and they had plenty of food You go down to the fucking projects everybody is you're gonna tell me even the white dudes everybody short listen, man Being born and raised that I've been up to the free side. I've been to the Washington Heights and you're absolutely right There's a lot of nutrition going on up there. But that being said Fucking crazy Although there was you there was a blackout in 2001. That's a whole other conversation. When you're talking this way, people don't understand, you're coming from New York when New York was danger.
Starting point is 01:14:51 No, but so are you. You know too. That's why I keep pointing at you. 42nd Street, all that shit was dangerous down there. Before Giuliani's. Yes. But anyway, when Brian came, which mad love, because a lot of people, a lot of actors especially,
Starting point is 01:15:02 would not have done that. Oh yeah. He came, yo, first of all, it seemed like he was touching the top of the ceiling. The food was so good. The food was mad good, but I could just tell, there was times when Brian was talking to my family and he's listening, but you could just feel
Starting point is 01:15:16 the claustrophobia just hitting him real quick. Like, all right, Vic, when we gonna get out of here? Because you know, it's like the small cinder block, I mean, I don't wanna talk shit, because I grew up there, but it's kind? Because you know, it's like the small cinder block. I mean, I don't wanna talk shit because I grew up there, but like, it's kind of like you kind of in a jail a little bit, you know? 100%.
Starting point is 01:15:30 I just remember going down on the elevator and I leaned back and Vic said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, don't touch the elevator. I'm like, wait, what? Don't put your back on the elevator because motherfuckers hate pizza. He said, don't ever do that.
Starting point is 01:15:40 I was like, oh. You know, you know. I'm not thinking about that. People don't, and by the way, what you just said is so important. New York had a smell to it. And that smell was mostly urine. People don't understand.
Starting point is 01:15:53 And cheese. This is true. Bro, when you went into those elevators, the graffiti and the smell, everything, that was your daily reality. It was second nature for me. It wasn't until I actually became an actor. Also, when you were a young child,
Starting point is 01:16:06 but you grew up this way, what people don't understand about growing up where you grew up was you didn't grow up with any green. You grew up in cement for real. Everything was vertical like this. And everything, you lived in a box, you walked in a box, everything. You might have a couple trees
Starting point is 01:16:21 that were hanging on for dear life coming out of the concrete. Wait, I have one thing to say to you about that. The funny part about everything you said to me, even the trees, even those single trees out of the, on a block, even they had like a little piece of fence around them. Who the fuck's gonna do something to this fucking tree?
Starting point is 01:16:37 Because they knew they'd get chopped down, they'd get fucked up, people would carve their initials. People don't understand. But you don't know what I'm talking about. That little makeshift gate around them. I'm like, what the fuck is this? They had to have a gate around him. All that has played out so funny now,
Starting point is 01:16:48 because Vic is such a neat freak. I am a neat freak. He needs everything to be clean. Maybe it was psychological. Well, it's all because of that. Maybe because of that. I saw where you grew up. It's like, yes.
Starting point is 01:16:56 He's tough. He wants everything clean. He wants everything organized. It's like. Yeah, man. And also, do you remember when on 14th Street, the Con Edison building? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:04 So do you remember what? I didn't realize this until I was older But I didn't realize how hazardous you know those orange and white cones that come out of the street Yeah, because the steam yeah, do you know how dangerous that I mean how hazardous oh my god Yeah, and I grew up with that, but I didn't realize obviously cuz you know that's where I lived But that was everyone Avenue D Avenue D had all the way up until Con Edison is right there That's what I'm saying yeah, 14th Street. Con Edison is right there. Con Edison, that's what I'm saying, yeah. 14th Street.
Starting point is 01:17:27 It's so interesting, man. Yeah, man, I always forget that. I feel like the episodes that I've heard of you guys, I feel like there hasn't been enough of this New York talk. Not at all. So I'm glad that we're talking about it. Because I don't have anybody to talk to about it. And I can see how much you're smiling about it.
Starting point is 01:17:41 It's nostalgic. I lived in this store. I talked to John Joseph last night. So John grew up there. John, they call him Mighty White. Get over here, bro. I know, man. Let's talk It's nostalgic. I talked to John Joseph last night. So John grew up there. John, they call him mighty. Get over here, bro. I know, man. Let's talk about New York.
Starting point is 01:17:49 I gotta bring him in. Yeah. But fuck, man. What a time. You don't miss it? Nah. There was a dude, yeah, I do. You don't miss the piss.
Starting point is 01:17:55 I do. I love New York. But there was a, I remember in, remember Alcatraz? Remember that bar, Alcatraz? Yes, of course. Thank you. Thank you. So Alcatraz had, fuck man.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Where was that? I got stories. There was a dude, there was a dude, I don't know if you remember this guy on Avenue A. Heraz had the fuck I got stories dude. There was a dude I don't know if you remember this guy on Avenue a he used to he was a homeless dude Yeah, he would get naked. Yes, and he would wrap himself in a rug Yes, and he would he would put himself in the way of the sidewalk and he would ask girls to step on him Yes, and he got off on getting stepped on I do remember this and then him and his like posse of homeless people they would have a chess
Starting point is 01:18:27 In Tonka at Thompson Park on the corner because you know how it kind of goes off the seventh and a right there that homeless Do sometimes will be with his other homeless homies or whatever and play chess Yeah, yeah, remember a place where the hardcore guys played the Moors in in Brooklyn. No, it was like it was a Brooklyn was is? Dude, in- Williamsburg? Bowels, dangerous. No, no, it was back. See, again, there were parts of Brooklyn,
Starting point is 01:18:50 this was in parts of Brooklyn where- I live in Brooklyn now. Way before, way before like Dumbo, way before- So Green- Green Point. Green Point used to be nothing but warehouses. Yes. So I was-
Starting point is 01:19:01 In Polish, man, Polish people too. Yeah, I remember, I was working down in Tribeca when- Tribeca when, when, when, when, listen to me, all of those buildings were warehouses. My grandfather who had an import export company, he owned one of those buildings that was worth, I don't know, a dollar back then. Now it's worth $50 million. My, my grandfather owned that building and he used it.
Starting point is 01:19:22 It was a giant warehouse and I would see him cause he worked across the street from Lehman Brothers where I worked on 388 Greenwich. So Greenwich, bro, he had a, right there he had a, it was a shitty warehouse, right? And that's where he kept all the shit. And I remember they used to buy cats and they would have cats just living there
Starting point is 01:19:39 because the cats would keep all the rats away. When the rats would smell the cats, they wouldn't go. So you just had a bunch of cats hanging out. You know who owns all of Tribeca now They did it here on the hero bar your grand pops De Niro and his other and and a couple Jane Ross Rosen Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, but damn I didn't know you go you go far back like that I'm 57 bro. So I go way back so that for me it was like I mean That's when I was spending so much time down there back in like I was working in Greenwich I would go to this place called Bubbies. What was the Bubbies in Tribeca? Yeah. Yeah, I know it
Starting point is 01:20:09 But you have to understand when Bubbies opened it was the first Cafe, yeah when De Niro so I was I wanted to be South of canal. It was the first cafe in South of canal Yeah, yeah So so when when I wanted to be an actor so badly right and I was working as a temp at Lehman Brothers No, I was working as a I at Lehman Brothers. No, I was working as a, I was in the accounts receivable. Like a clerk. It was a shitty, shitty job. And I would walk by that restaurant.
Starting point is 01:20:32 He had a restaurant still there. I think it's on, it's on, it's on Greenwich. Oh, the New Yorker? Yeah. It's, what the fuck is it called? What the fuck is it called? Tribeca Bar and Grill? Maybe something like that.
Starting point is 01:20:42 And I saw him one time just standing out on, to me, it was like, you want to talk about- It was a Liguzamo moment, maybe something like that. And I saw him one time just standing out. To me, it was like, you want to talk about- It was a Ligazamo moment for me, like that. So what'd you do? So the best was I was working at Bubbies, and he owned the two top floors of the building, it's so funny. And my fucking, my boss says to me,
Starting point is 01:20:59 they open an outdoor area of Bubbies. It was an alleyway, shitty alleyway. And I was trying to be an actor and I was working the cash register and making coffee and shit. And I have a hat on, I got a Bubbies polo shirt. It's so fucking hot. Those dog days, those August days, it broke. Swampy hot.
Starting point is 01:21:22 And you guys understand, before cars burn clean, it was like, you would get, I would do that and you'd have black for real. And I'm just sitting there and these beautiful girls would come in and these famous people and shit and I'm just hating my life. And I remember the boss, for whatever reason in the summer, goes, here's this corn, it was Indian corn.
Starting point is 01:21:41 And he goes, we want Indian corn. Wait, I wanna hear it, so what happened? Bro, and he goes, figure out a way to hang Indian corn and he goes we want Indian corn. Wait, I want to hear it, so what happened? He goes, figure out a way to hang Indian corn. You're going to hang Indian corn from that part of the, building to that part of the. Wait, for decor? Yeah, bro, and I don't know how to do that shit.
Starting point is 01:21:56 So I go, all right, I got you. Now I got to figure out how to hang Indian corn. Why? And I remember I'm standing there with Indian corn. I got sweat and soot, I got some dumb fucking hat and a polo shirt and I'm sitting there trying to figure it out while these beautiful people, I may as well be a spore, a cup of coffee and who do I see in the dog days of summer
Starting point is 01:22:18 come out, he's wearing a shirt like this with a leather jacket, is there a bead of sweat? Nah, it was De Niro in his prime. It was when he was the biggest motherfucker on the planet. Good fellows in all that shit. With this beautiful brown girl on his arm. Yeah, tight. Of course. And they looked like they'd stepped out of a spring somewhere in, like some oasis,
Starting point is 01:22:40 right? And there's the man. And he stops to look at what the fuck is going on, like adjacent to his building. He's looking at this, you know, his look. And I see him. I see him, and I got corn, and that's my hero. And I go like this. I look at him and I go. I go to say hi, but in the middle of hi, I decide it's a bad idea. You know how you're like, hi, don't say hi, because don't do that. And I'm holding corn, and I went like this, I swear to God, I go. I shook the corn at him. I went, hi. And I froze, I panicked, and he just went like this.
Starting point is 01:23:18 He went, how you doing? He didn't do that, he just went. Fucking kid. And just kept walking. And that was my... Have you seen him since? Please tell my story. Well, I saw him...
Starting point is 01:23:30 You had to have seen him since. I saw him in an elevator, but I didn't look at him. Wait, so you've never actually spoken to him ever? No. Wow. No, sir. Met Pacino, hung with him a couple of times. Right at Lone's house.
Starting point is 01:23:41 That was pretty cool. I mean, that sounds cool. Can I just say something, Brian? I would be insulted if you're not on we almost made it on our podcast because you know why anytime your stories and your come-up Yeah, I think is so interesting man, especially that we're from New York There's so many stories to be told and I know that's one of many stories So anyway, hopefully we'll have you on we almost made it because that's what it's about. It's about hustlers Yeah, it's like it started about the show, but it really is about people who are just like hustlers who chase their dreams no matter what.
Starting point is 01:24:07 I'm a follow up man, I'm serious. We're going to get you on man. Hustling never ends though, does it? No. Does it ever end? It never ends. No, dude, that song is amazing that you just told. That's an amazing story. And I know you have way more than that. Bro, it's all that hunger, that longing. I think you need to keep that.
Starting point is 01:24:21 I think one of the most important things is to realize there is no getting there. I think in a lot of ways you've got to keep surprising yourself, keep shocking yourself, keep trying to stay a little bit uncomfortable. Like this is my next hour is really all about that. Like the idea that the Garden of Eden is where you want to get to.
Starting point is 01:24:38 You wouldn't want to be in a garden where nothing can kill you. There's no point in climbing a tree if you couldn't fall out of it. The only reason you'd rather pet a tiger over a cow is the tiger might kill you. They feel the same. And without the possibility of it all going wrong,
Starting point is 01:24:50 without the possibility of it all fucking crashing and burning and having to build up from there, there is no adventure. We stay alive. Adventure and intimacy are the two most, the rarest commodities. They're the rarest commodities we have. And I think that's what you have to keep in your life.
Starting point is 01:25:07 And the minute you get too rich. Too comfortable. Too comfortable. Because what happens when people get really rich is they buy comfort and safety. They buy too much of it. Stop taking risks. Yeah, and then they got to start importing it back
Starting point is 01:25:19 into their garden. And it never, that's why the children of billionaires, usually it doesn't work out. You ever hear, you ever see what happens to the children of the rich and famous? Like this is my son, Bhutan, he's 25. He's never had a real job before. He doesn't believe in shoes.
Starting point is 01:25:34 He's a fierce advocate for animals and he's addicted to everything. That's kind of what happens. Like fighters too, and they get rich, it doesn't work. So that was the bio of every rich kid. But Brian, so for you, you feel, so you feel like that the hustle never stops for you? I don't want it to stop.
Starting point is 01:25:47 Great, I never heard that before. Stand up, my favorite thing about stand up is that it never gets easy and you better come with something new and you better be shocking yourself and you better stay relevant and it never ends. So that's a challenge that you keep going towards? Acting to you is not a challenge anymore. When I shoot my next special, I got to start from scratch. And every time I start from scratch,
Starting point is 01:26:08 I'm like, I may never be funny. Fearful. You know Louis Guzman? You know Louis Guzman, of course. Yeah, and I worked with him. And ratings are back. Well, you know Louis was on the. And ratings are back.
Starting point is 01:26:16 Ratings are back, guys. So sorry to listen after I left you with Brian. Here's the bump. Louis, Louis, Louis, just to add on what you just said. Do you know Louis Armstrong? No, Louis Guzman. Louis Guzman. He's on the show. You know him?ie. Um, Louie just to add on what you just said He's on the show, you know, my cousin Renee bring up Louie's Lucas my Wednesday now on Netflix, that's right Now he's the legend Louie had a quick stint. He told me it was about a couple years ago. He had a quick is. Yeah, yeah, boogie knight. He's got 11 kids or some shit, he's hilarious.
Starting point is 01:26:45 Oh, yeah, he's adopted. Look at how many kids he has, he's great. He told me, because you were talking about stand up, two years ago, he actually kind of dabbled in stand up, and he said that when he tried to come up with something. He was on the House of Buggin', I think. And he was on the House of Buggin', that's how him and John, I think,
Starting point is 01:26:59 also met back in the day. He told me that he has such respect for you guys in terms of, like you said, you have a special, you gotta start from scratch. He said he couldn't do it. I don't think I could do it. Six months, he told me that he has such respect for you guys in terms of, like you said, you have a special, you gotta start from scratch. He said he couldn't do it. Six months, he said he was done. He said, oh, I thought I was funny off camera, but he's like, I can't do it.
Starting point is 01:27:13 I live for the grind, I love it, man. Yeah, well that's why we gotta have you on the show. Stand-up scares the shit out of me. Yeah, it's the one thing, I don't gravitate towards it. Maybe I should do it, because it scares me, but I don't think I'd be good at it. I think if you did it enough, you'd be good at it. You're a smart guy.
Starting point is 01:27:26 Yeah. I've worked with a lot of stand-up comedians. You got fun with your stickers. I'm like comedy adjacent. You could do it. But I'm not. That's not true. You could do it.
Starting point is 01:27:33 You just have to start breaking down jokes. The hustle's different. Yeah, I would say if you wanted to do it, you just start with what, like I would say, right from what scares you. Like right personally. Like who are you pretending to be? Who would you rather be?
Starting point is 01:27:47 How do you want to die? How do you not want to die? What do you want to say when you die? You know, all that shit. Like when, who broke your heart? When did you get your heart? Yeah, look at those turning points and like get into that shit.
Starting point is 01:27:57 Like how did you really feel after your first breakup, after your last breakup? What are you actually insecure about? You know, where is the armor you put on your body, that's kind of what it's about. What bothers you, what scares you about the world? What are the ideas that fuck with you? I thought about your question

Oh, yeah, even to this day Yeah, he's such a savage and he's so good Yeah, I always knew he was good and then We're doing a show at the lab factor and every comic was just eating dick. It was just one of those nights
Starting point is 01:31:34 You know with me everyone's eating dick and every comic go back to the green room and they're like good luck. It was a joke Nobody I'm talking season comics. Really? Bombing. Like eating shit. Just the crowd wasn't feeling it, huh? Bill walks in and he goes, what's going on? And they're like, dude, the crowd's awful. He goes, oh, I'm going to jump on. And they're like, good luck. Dude, he went out there and he's just sitting on this bill. And he's like, they're cheering for him because Bill Burr.
Starting point is 01:31:58 Yeah. And he's just staring at them. And you can tell he's been there a thousand times and just started going at them. And we're like, we're like, but I'm saying like ruthless. And you're tell he's been there a thousand times and just started going at them I've seen we're like we were like but I'm saying like ruthless and you're like, whoa And then then he does that he gets their attention and then flipped it and had fun and like brought the house down I was like, oh, there's a pro Having said that with Bill I've also been with Bill where he that so right when we saw him he's about to shoot a special
Starting point is 01:32:24 So his material was at a boiling point and it's incredible. Yeah, then I was with him at the I've also been with Bill where he, so right when we saw him, he was about to shoot a special. So his material was at a boiling point and it's incredible. Then I was with him at the, where is the place in Pasadena? Ice House. Yeah, and he'd done the thing, we were on the same show, we'd done the thing, and I was kinda walking with him and I go,
Starting point is 01:32:37 how you doing? He goes, I fucking hate this part, I hate this part of the fucking, you know, my thing. I go, what do you mean? He goes, I'm, because I gotta write new shit now. I got to try it out. It's like, oh. And so everybody goes. No, but remember, this is why I love Bill.
Starting point is 01:32:50 Because remember, you shot a special. We went to the comic store and we're talking to Bill. Like, ah, man, I got to go up tonight. I just shot a special. I hit a new shit. And he goes, whoa, whoa, whoa. This is why I love Bill. That's what we do.
Starting point is 01:33:01 That's what the fuck we do. He goes, what are you talking about? That's what you signed up for. And I'm like, that's gangster shit. That is gangster. So we do. He goes, what are you talking about? That's what you signed up for. And I'm like, that's gangsta shit. That is gangsta. So just to relate to that, to the acting world, we were talking about how the hustle never stops, the grind never stops.
Starting point is 01:33:13 You never get there. I was lucky enough when I was in my 20s to do a movie with Meryl Streep, name drop. And- Hold on, look at that. I think she's the best actress ever. Actor, I think she's the best actor.. Actor, I think she's the best actor. I mean, it's like proven at this point.
Starting point is 01:33:26 Daniel Day-Lewis and her. Yeah. And Christian Bale. And she played my mom in this movie and I was, I had to do like seven screen tests to get this role. Like I had to fight so many battles and I won it, you know? I was like, damn.
Starting point is 01:33:38 Oh, you know, I'm in my twenties, I'm confident, like cocky and you know. Nothing's really changed. We're rehearsing and she's like, so Brian, how you feeling? And I'm like, I'm good, and you know. Nothing's really changed. We're rehearsing, and she's like, so Brian, how you feeling? And I'm like, I'm good, I'm ready to go. Like, let's do this. And she's like, you're not nervous?
Starting point is 01:33:52 And I'm like, nah, nervous? Nah, what are nerves? And then she's like, uh. And it was just like dead silence. Then I was like, why, are you nervous? And she's like, I'm scared of Shadless. I'm like, you're Meryl Streep and you're nervous. So it never stops.
Starting point is 01:34:07 My friend directed Meryl Streep in a, she was doing a book reading. She was doing one of those books on tape. Yeah. Okay, so my friend was directing her. And my friend's an actress. And she's been acting forever, but she was directing this for Dove Books.
Starting point is 01:34:21 And Meryl Streep just had to do, she just had to read the thing and she was in the hallway going. Sweating. Oh yeah. No, dude. I love that she cares, yeah. She's like, you all right?
Starting point is 01:34:33 She goes, no, I'm just fucking nervous because I'm so nervous because I got this. No, dude. Yeah. But I don't think that ever, like if you cared, no matter how many times you've done it, like this thing with fighters, like I wasn't the first fighter,
Starting point is 01:34:43 I was one of the more outspoken fighters. was like I'm scared shitless back there I'm fucking your first one first yeah I was like and there was a lot of talk about that yeah oh yeah that I was like open about is it's it's I know it was almost says coming out like you're gay yeah what the fuck yeah yeah I'm terrified I saw him right but then hold on me but then I remember like I was like I can't believe guys don't talk about this More like I've been the reason I said I've been back there Insert name Brock Lesnar like he's way bigger me. Yeah. Yeah terrified. No
Starting point is 01:35:15 Oh my god, GSP GSP. Oh my god, like the guys that we all think are warriors Generational because I feel like this generation of all athletes, of all people, they talk about their feelings more, even with music. You know, with Cudi, he was like, introverted, talking about it. Yeah, that whole emo scene. But that's his whole generation. I think with fighters, you won't hear a lot of guys talk about it even now, because I think it's just, it's not frowned upon but it's also like I
Starting point is 01:35:45 don't know most people don't want to hear it I don't know I think it all depends on how you but I also don't think we should put all that out there like how's how's shit going like all like all the theory we're sharing oversharing but I'm also like mental health and all the therapy and better help and all that shit oh yeah how's things going yeah how many people have fucking problems yeah like back in the day, people shut the fuck up, you got to work. And they built things like Europe and New York.
Starting point is 01:36:09 Yeah, like if you're, what are we building now? They built shit like Hollywood and the tech industry and the UFC. You ever think about like the people that built shit, like the shit that we all enjoy, they, you didn't really hear about their fucking feeling. It was like, it was also all dudes. But it's like Lauren Landau, like does it matter?
Starting point is 01:36:26 You know what I'm saying, like does it matter? Like people are giving all these feelings. How are things going for some time? He's talking about when he was on the Ultimate Fighter and he had torn meniscus and his trainer saw the MRI and he goes, and he was all swollen, he goes, how is it? And Lauren Landau goes, doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:36:42 Doesn't matter, cause you're gonna fight anyway. Yeah, I had to do it. Would you wanna go out there and just fight? Or do you want to worry about this? Why don't you not worry about this and worry about the guy in front of you? That's a great philosophy. But what were you guys saying about Tesla?
Starting point is 01:36:54 So you guys both liked the Tesla truck? I had the reservation. I was like an early reservation for the Cybertruck. I loved it. I mean, I'm a big like DeLorean fan from back in the future. So I was like, oh, this is just a reincarnation, but on steroids. And then I'm big like DeLorean fan from Back to the Future. So I was like, oh this is just a reincarnation but on steroids. Yeah. And then I got a Tesla Y and I was like, I didn't love it. And we, my wife crashed the car.
Starting point is 01:37:14 She crashed the Tesla. The thing about those Teslas though, if you damage it, they like, they scrap them. Yeah. They say they're good for the environment, but because it's so expensive to replace the parts, there's so many of those Teslas just sitting in the joke. You can't sell No, no when they when they get even like a little like whatever they can't even sell they got a lot of them a lot Let's put yeah sell values awful then they don't even start on the
Starting point is 01:37:38 Electric engines I get the nightmare. That's all electric cars are just Tesla's I love Tesla I've had this I'm going on my you get the wire You're eighth year of having one. I had the s twice and now I have the three little one Yeah, dude, did you get the nude? Yeah three. Did you see the knee three? No, it's gangster Cuz the reason I don't have the why I do have a thing. I have the same This guy should all go suck each other's dicks. Hey real quick. Hey, bro. Come on. Be cool, man Yeah, that's what they do at Tesla meets I'm out so I don't But here's my quick I have my problem people think I have issues with like I love Elon Musk
Starting point is 01:38:14 So doesn't make sense, but my thing is like we're especially in New York we ever into cars Dad's a Dominican mechanic. So yes I grew up. I grew up. I always grew up like in the LES Always around like body shops because that's my dad and you know That's and you drove cars like you drove those badass cars that you owned them and stuff I didn't own them until I made money as an actor like all those years in New York when I moved to LA so like So I got really cars. Yeah, then I started buying like what I what I could afford I would get the dope out. He's a dope beamers a dope Mercedes Yeah, okay, but then I slowly I think as I become it became a dad and I got older
Starting point is 01:38:48 I think that I like in fell back to that and then car. We're big. Yeah, I like trucks I've Broncos. I have three Broncos 74 95 and then a 2000. Yeah, that's just crazy Racing trucks now you are. Yep. Is that why you're shipping? I mean we could sell cars all day if that's what you're asking we're usually the people I've been around who are into Tesla's and that stuff they've never been like around really big into cars so so it's like for Brian like you so Tim and I I have no issue with it do your thing but it's like they're easy right they look nice enough then tears yeah yeah it's not a big deal right they look nice enough than tears. Yeah, they say
Starting point is 01:39:26 Yeah, it's not a big deal. You charge it. You don't have to it's one less thing You have to worry about so I get the appeal I get the appeal Yeah, you know for me for me too like when I got the Tesla the three You know you have an eight you have an eight-year-old you have a what was you have a eight four and six month old So, you know when they get when they get older congrats, by the way When they get older, I think the reason why I got it So my wife has a gas guzzling car and I got the Tesla. I think the biggest reason you would know just being a dad like I was more not worried but also thinking forward that one day she's gonna be at school and be like daddy I learned about the environment that
Starting point is 01:39:58 car da da da da. I'm like not daddy, daddy got a Tesla. Yeah. I was kind of thinking that way. We do that. don't blame me. Look at mommy, she got her gas company. Have you done the research on that? Obviously I got more research now, but talking to you guys than I did before getting the Tesla. But no, I get it. I get all that stuff.
Starting point is 01:40:15 See, I go the opposite. I feel like if you're a car guy, you're a gear head, you're into the cars. Like it's on dads like me to educate our kids about combustion engines and like, you know, the GT 500, the GT 350s, the TRXs, the Hellcat engines, the fucking GTR Nissans, like, cause that's all gonna go away.
Starting point is 01:40:34 If we don't pass it down, and the way the laws are going, all that goes away. And then also just working on the cars and get them interested in it. It's not gonna go away, people, it's too passionate. In California, it's gonna be tough, but it's gonna be tough in 2035. Yeah, it will be tough.
Starting point is 01:40:47 Yeah, I don't think it'll go away completely like what you're saying, because I think the love for it is so deep. Yeah, they'll, yeah. But most people are moving, like in most big companies, they're moving to hybrids. Which I'll take. Just Porsche's came out with a 911 hybrid,
Starting point is 01:41:02 did you see that? Yeah. See, we have kids, and so that Cybertruck, I have two twins. We both have two boys. Two and a half. Nice. I'm sorry, I didn't know you had kids.
Starting point is 01:41:12 We all are dads, I'm sorry. Yeah, one's a dad here. Dad club. But that Cybertruck, it goes down in the back and I'm like, I can't put car seats back there. They're gonna be hitting their heads. Be tough. So I gave my reservation to my boy who had a Rivian
Starting point is 01:41:22 and we did a little trade. Oh shit. Yeah, I like the Rivian. I've driven a Rivian and we did a little trade. Oh shit. Yeah, I like the Rivian. I drove a Rivian. Brooklyn's are nice. I drove a Rivian. Yeah, that's a nice car. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:30 Fuck. It's fun. It's a good family car. Did you tell me you have as much fun driving, was it the three in the Rivian, as you do as like your Broncos and so on? So hold on. What are we doing?
Starting point is 01:41:41 No, no, we're not doing anything. I'm on your frequency right now. I'm halfway in, halfway out. I was, I did, so I don't know about you, but I do this one. Yeah I'm like go that magic mind bottle give them with this man. So you got to have you legit. How do you feel? No, no without doing the sponsor. You go Greg link Shout out Greg Lee. Yeah, but what were you gonna say brother? This is so I do this once a year where I go
Starting point is 01:42:01 There's these like race car like where you can you can sign up and you can race these cars for different tracks around the country. So I just did one in Phoenix where this company goes and you could like ride a GTS, I rode a Lambo. I mean, yeah, yeah. So certain car makers have their own, but then there's all the companies, you know, that they have like different cars.
Starting point is 01:42:21 So I do the experience. The experience, that's exactly what it's called. So I did the experience in November. I drove all of those and trust me, I was thinking the same thing you man, I'm like, Tesla's not doing this dude. I'm doing 180 and like, you know, when they do the straight away, I'm like,
Starting point is 01:42:35 and I'm like, I have, I'm on Instagram, you know, I have, you know, there's the instructor, if you've done it, you have the instructor, you're like, all right, pull it off the thing. And now press the key or not. I'm like, oh, you see the, you're like, all right pull it off the thing and now now press the gear and I'm like You see the my face Tesla's not doing that. No, and I love that I also did it again with Mercedes had another one where you do like you could do a not a doughnut What's the when you like drifting? Yeah, I was drifting on one and then they had the course
Starting point is 01:42:57 So trust me, I'm with you on that But I think just for practicality and my kid like I said, I think it all came down to that See, but yeah, my mind's, because especially where my son goes to school, I pick both of them up, and there's Teslas all over. Then I pull up in a 1300 horsepower TRX, that's the loudest truck, it's not legal, the loudest truck you've ever heard, and it shuts the school down,
Starting point is 01:43:19 and my kids are like, fuck yeah, there's my dad. That's all. I go jump on him. That's gangsta. And they just love, like. He won't let me in his truck, because they won't start with you in, because you're a cuck. Yeah. That's my dad They just they just love let me instruct you cuz they won't start with you in cuz you're a cock Yeah, like my kids like my kids love they're into the cars you go to car shows like my kid a run out I'm like dad would you bring today and like the lightning the demon or the
Starting point is 01:43:47 Have a Ferrari or the Porsche GTS like people like only take that thing out like you know he it's his everyday driver Oh, yeah, and you flip them or just keep getting new cars Some I'll flip and then the shirt ones I keep yeah, I love it Well, you got it you got to do the gangster thing and bring it to Bob's burger. Yeah, I'm a bank We're right there right there and talk to look like you know, there's a all that there's a big Friday night I think yeah, you can my boy told me about that But it's on Fridays right there sure I'm gonna be knowing you there man from like five to something. Yeah, it's massive all the classics dude like my kids would freak out
Starting point is 01:44:24 I can there's a lot of kids, I brought it because there's a lot of kids there, that's why I brought that up. Yeah, my kids love it. And that's how they collect all the cars. Can I bring the Tesla? Yeah. You guys talk.
Starting point is 01:44:33 Yeah, my kiddos, they collect all the cars and like they're asking you to go to car shows all the time. You should tell your mom, they would love that. Yeah, they love it. You see all the classics. And they're like learning about it. We're not invited. We're obviously not invited with the Teslasers yeah you are you know cars sup guys how
Starting point is 01:44:48 quiet is this thing huh I like the culture too it's like like the people I deal with like Chris at Bailey's performance or right at kibbe tech like bread at King Chuck like the it's like that blue collar like them out you check them out I leave nothing oh yeah I'm gonna show up with since I was 16 with the gloves the fingers cut out do my brother You know what he has dude, so he flips old it's 1986 Buick Not the not the regal no, it's um, it's like a real Grand National right now. Yes X. Yes X He flips those dude full boner right now
Starting point is 01:45:24 Me too, dude, go fucking fucking I know you'd appreciate this So he flipped you asking about flipping in my my my brother-in-law does that for the bugna for those? Do those and it's so hard to find them But when he does he makes bank when he flips them like bank their dope by Cheeto Vera The fighter has one we shoot a show and he has a GSX. And who's that guy? Who's the Asian dude from Fast and Furious? He has a bunch of shows. Jeremy Lin.
Starting point is 01:45:49 Oh, that's right. Jeremy Lin. What's the Asian actor's name? Tony. I don't know. Tony. I don't see color. Anyway, so he's one of the main actors.
Starting point is 01:45:58 Sun Kang, he's haunting. He's the guy you, Sun Kang. Sun Kang, that's it. Oh yeah. Sun Kang, he has, Jim, he's the guy you told me about. He's a Buick national, like, like Congress. They're great. So he goes, my brother-in-law brings it to him
Starting point is 01:46:11 and he's trying to sell one to him. So it's a song Kang. Yeah, bro. Buick you said. Buick national. And it's only 86 or 84. One of those years like. 87 is the big one.
Starting point is 01:46:21 The GSX big one. So then it's 87. That's what it is. Cause they made grand nationals. Then they did a GSX and there was I think they made like 390 of them. Yeah, dude this thing it's ultimate sleeper. You would know it Although it doesn't look that great in the movie. You see it. You don't training day. Yeah Yes, but it's like I thought that's how to Monte Carlo in that that was a Monte Carlo
Starting point is 01:46:40 Uh, I thought was Grand National. No, but it looks a lot like cuz the grand national a little bit It's a little bit longer than the So be it only came in it is curved But I only can't hop the top also that's how you know the Grand National to there you go So wait, that's Monte Carlo think Vic knows this shit boom boom ear bump boom But it looks similar. It looks very similar to that. That's my brother-in-law for a national. They're sick ultimate sleeper How'd you know that that's good? You pick that up about cars. We don't Planes like if we're going on a flight, he needs to know like the specs of the plane and everything
Starting point is 01:47:15 I'm basically like your dad. I know random shit interesting. That's why I like buying cars There was a woman I was gonna buy a car from then there was a man The woman didn't have the details I wanted even Even though I don't care about the details, the man's like, well there's more torque here. And you got actually a little more room. And I want to know those fucking inches because that's going to sell me on the car. She was like, I think, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:47:35 It might be. Yeah, but things are over for you. You're not buying any more engine cars, right? Yeah. But I also think, well the reason I went like nuts with my trucks and I got a 2004 Ford Lightning because I won one in high school, I think once the whole new something and like we're banning gas But I got anxiety. I'm like, I'm gonna miss out on all this and I've gone like you like stockpile off the deep end
Starting point is 01:47:55 Yeah, like I like a like a light. I have the light. Do I do you like it? Love it? Okay, no, cuz I know I've heard different things about it only because that electric. Yes. No, no, hold on. Yeah So I'm like I'm like 2004 the the new Ford Doesn't count you're right. I'm on the 24. I forget it. No question. Yeah. Yeah. I know you're talking about Yeah, I'm talking about the one from Fast and Furious. Oh, yeah. Yeah when I know he's a my yeah. Yeah Yeah, I thought you had the electric one, too I was like wait, no, no, I've had two down for 20 year old Ford single cab And then I just drove down I drive all I was in Tijuana last week putting've got 2004 20 year old Ford single cab, and then I just drove down
Starting point is 01:48:25 I drive all I was in Tijuana last week putting parts on it took my kids with me You drove down. You drove it down. Yeah, I drove to Arizona to pick it up So I bring my son with me so he learns about the car. The eight year old. The eight year old. And then we drive and stay in Hotels it's his favorite thing to do. Do you guys go to the LA car show? That's where I really learn a lot more about cars because I always see the new shit that's coming out. LA car show sucks now. Oh, it's all electric all the big boys aren't there anymore I was going when it was not electric. That's what I need to yeah And it was really good that one the Denver one the Detroit ones the biggest one But then SEMA is still where you can get some real shit. Yeah Victor can talk to you about anything cars love it
Starting point is 01:49:04 Hey fuck these two. Let's start a podcast I gotta talk about method acting. I guess I know you and I you and I so my process Yeah, we took over the show. Yeah, we get four listeners and There's certain stuff like like just I feel like they're ringing to me in a huge maybe bass out there, like what Ford's doing. When they came out, they go, we're never not going to make a V8. And then they dropped the Mustang GTD, which is like the most badass Mustang ever. They dropped the GT 500, the Shelby.
Starting point is 01:49:38 And they're dropping it now. I'm like, oh my, this is singing in my fucking soul. When everyone's going over here, Ford's doing this. I love it. Yeah, when everyone's going over here fours doing this. Yeah, I love it Yeah, I saw that you know Mercedes try to play the customers like in 2015 where they were putting their badass cars like their e-classes and they were trying to put V Not before four cylinder cars, but trying to make it six cylinder car. Yeah, and customers got pissed about it You remember this it was like it was a quick stay like two You know just having that promise Toyota because people love Tundras and Tacoma right
Starting point is 01:50:07 they fucking love them yeah like for runners huge market for it people fucking but they want the cylinder they want the V so the new so the new one that they came out with is a V6 but the old Tundra was a VA that's right so the time they announced a new one but as a V6 dude look at look at the rating people fight it because they feel like they're getting capital but it's a v6 dude look at look at the rating people fight it because they feel like they're getting jipped dude capital because it's a v6 nobody wants it there's no sound there's no sound you gotta have the you know you need that yeah that v8 it's a huge difference I mean so this is for the non you know doesn't care about the budget in terms of gas or like these
Starting point is 01:50:38 are like true car people they want to feel that so people felt jipped about going back to the Mercedes thing because of that because they were like I'm paying a guy I'm paying 80 grand for an E-Class. I'm like, well, I'm getting a four cylinder, you know? My friend had a Targa, a 1984 911 Targa. And I got to tell you, that was the first time, the only time I got what people were talking about because you can feel the road. You can feel the road. That thing is such a machine. It's like a go-kart. Well, they have a soul. That's my problem with electric. It's like a go-kart. Well, they have a soul. Oh, that's my problem with electric Like there's no soul. Yeah, my friend raised for BMW and he got behind the wheel of that thing and he was explaining me
Starting point is 01:51:10 It's showing me like and I was like he was taking turns and I was like fuck do you have about that? How about the guy out there picking up the truck? He's like, yeah, how many miles per gallon does get if we have to drive? I'm like, but they get six miles per gallon It's on you Don't drive it anywhere get from here to the miles per gallon, it's on E85. Don't drive it anywhere. Get from here to the shop, it's on low gas already, don't fuck this up, dude.
Starting point is 01:51:31 It gets six miles a gallon. Six miles a gallon. The Porsche, the new Porsche Taycan, you know, the electric one, although I mean, I love Porsche and I've driven like combustible engine Porsches, the Taycan, I will say, I will say, hold up, before you say anything, I will say I will say hold up before you say they I will say
Starting point is 01:51:46 They do this kind of dope thing where you don't feel it because obviously silent But they do this thing where you press this button and then when you hit the gas it's still doesn't sound yeah You still feel low. I mean, you know, it's fake. It's fake. Yeah, it's like a fake noise that they make It's like I do you know what I'm talking about? It's a fake muffler it's like a fake noise that they make. It's like a fake. Do you know what I'm talking about? Have you guys seen it? Yeah. It's like fake meat. It's fake meat. It's a fake muffler.
Starting point is 01:52:09 It's like what you do in your truck. Yeah. Do you know that they do that with almost all cars? Oh, I didn't know that. Cars now run very, very silently. Right. So when you have a Toyota or whatever, a Mazda Lexus, when you rev it, that sound apparently is computer generated.
Starting point is 01:52:20 That's not true. Oh, I don't know what it is, but I know that it makes me feel not as. No, they hit most because most people don't want the sound. But what they'll have now is they'll have outlets on the exhaust where it makes it silent. And then when you rev it, certain RPMs, they'll open those up. It close them down.
Starting point is 01:52:39 So it's that loud. I have it on my motorcycle, but opposite, so people can hear me coming. And I don't have them. I get rid of them. Cut them off right I literally cut them off myself. Yeah That's why your school loves you That's why my kids love me the teachers Fantastic about if this was a podcast like all the time you guys are fucking make it easy
Starting point is 01:52:59 We should get a time. Yeah What do we got up here, man? You guys got a great set up, man. I guess not bad. Thanks for having us, man. This is fun, man. But I've been listening to you guys for years. Really?
Starting point is 01:53:10 Yeah, I think you guys are great. That's awesome, thank you. Thanks. It was when I started getting into fighting, like, I was like right when Connor was coming up. Sure. I think I met you. Yep.
Starting point is 01:53:20 And then with Dalia, and then I started, he was telling me he was doing your show, and I just got into it i got hooked Yeah, bro, we met i just realized we met at the podcast one party at the at their house Oh, you were there it was brief. Yeah, because you you you know, we were all talking obviously It was real quick because i think you were talking to carola carola. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's fucking real quick I just said yo, man. What's up? And you know, right dude. Yeah, this is before we even signed the deal with podcast one Oh, yeah, we met quick. That's yeah, so i just on I mean I was getting ready to leave then Kroll it came. Yeah
Starting point is 01:53:47 I mean you were talking for a second. So I said, what's that? Really? Yeah, yeah, we both know him really well. Yeah, I guess handsome bastard. He's the best purple lips, bro I love it. He's great. He's like Stop working, bro, but like But like we're so good TV like for so long like 20 years straight, it's crazy like those guys are richer than movie star Yeah, it's crazy. He's also just Humor he's such a yeah, it's such a new guy. I'm seeing him solid I told you so what's up? I saw me your birthday party. He came to my birthday party. Yeah great
Starting point is 01:54:21 I used I was this I saw another but I saw him like a week ago. I was with tiger. So yeah, I was like, what's up dude? Yeah. He's great. He's great. He's asking about you. I said Brian passed away. Yeah. What do you got Jen? By the way, I was a huge fan or you know, still a huge fan of how to make it in America. When it first came out, I watched every episode. So all right, super. Do you guys get this? Like obviously I know a little bit how that your business works because I've been around Brian so long But I think it's similar like people if they think of reading the UFC or if you play certain amount of years in the NFL They're like, oh, they're set for life money. Why? Oh, yeah, I think a show made it. It's on HBO
Starting point is 01:54:57 You got you boys or whatever. Now, it's Cancel we were like with the fuck we bro. No, you were residual. The show got canceled. We were like, what the fuck we gonna do next? You made about $0.50 a check, right, Dave? Yeah. Forget about residuals now. You may get a bump in season three because of the contracts. But even that, I think, changed these men. No actors have money.
Starting point is 01:55:16 Yeah. I know. There's a few. You know, yeah. I know famous actors. I remember I got to know a very, very famous actor I grew up with and he was famous famous Al Pacino Oh, yeah, we close didn't even finish that story by that wasn't that but it was Charlie Chaplin and I remember he was like He said I'd love to do a play in London. I can't afford to and I went
Starting point is 01:55:36 Excuse me. It's great because he didn't want to take the time out to do a play in He's got bills. He's got you know, it's like I was yeah big misconception, but I think it's a famous that you're similar to us Or even the NFL were like the top like 1% or make a shit ton of money You know who they are and they're set but the rest are hustling everybody gotta work It's the rest of us even harder now like I just did a pilot and I'm lucky enough to be a serious regular But there used to be like seven series regulars now They'll do like three or four series regulars, and then everybody else has a chance
Starting point is 01:56:09 So how many episodes you guys shoot seven of our show we know I'm saying no no Oh, I just did this pilot if we get picked up. It'll probably be nine Lucky to you think that's a lot. It's not Your wife an actor too. Yes an actress. Yeah, that's Tom. Yeah, no, no, we her name is Jamie Chung Yeah, we both work, but you know the same movie that was the oh, yeah She was in a block of dudes, but she's also in hangover, too She's been in some big yes use the wife and she was the wife at home and hang out Yeah, what is she was in some some other movie? I love was there a horror movie and everything
Starting point is 01:56:43 Not be like Louie Goose by she's in so much Yeah, she's so much. She's fucking gorgeous. All right Boys I love it. They're in a Jeep. She's the best. She's um, yeah Boom oh wow Was she on my TV was she on MTV for a while too? She was on the real world. Oh she was?
Starting point is 01:57:07 Yeah. I used to be a real world fanatic. She was on the real world San Diego. Oh San Diego. And that was like her college job. And she was one of the rare people who like made the transition. Who that did something?
Starting point is 01:57:18 Yeah. Her in the midst. And it was not easy for her to get, to break that reality. No, but Theo Von was on Road Rules Real No, the feel of on was on road rules, a real world challenge. And then he was on there forever. And then when he got into comedy after that, like he could not shake that forever. And if you bring it up, he fucking he's crushing it.
Starting point is 01:57:35 Oh, now she's out of it. She went back and she did that. She did the challenge that she won that. So she's so cool. She's lost her path. She doesn't like fight it. You know, she she embraces. Can't. Yeah. Yeah. I still fight my UFC back. It's part of path. She doesn't like fight it, you know, she she embraces can't yeah
Starting point is 01:57:45 Yeah, I still fight my UFC back. It's part of your legacy. Yeah, you just it is what it is people recognize it from bad They recognize from hangover. It's like I think you're sick. I think what's too about I mean not I mean everyone has to work out. They're not too many people You know, they can just stop working but in your household with kiddos is like both the guys in their Usually one headshot per household,? Yeah I don't it's it's been weird ever since we had the kids like I've been on a run like I I wrote this movie that I directed and she let me go off when they were six months old to like direct this was like a passion project yeah so it was called junction this film I came out in. So she let me go and
Starting point is 01:58:25 then I've been very lucky. I've been on the road working non-stop. They say babies bring blessings and it's true for me. But now she's about to go off to Australia to shoot a movie for 6 weeks so we'll figure it out. I don't know. It's every day, you just got to be loose with it. It's a weird dynamic. It's dope. It's going to be open and excited for each other and wanting able to work, you know, wanting to work it out. And thankfully we have great family support system. Homies, bro. What you mean?
Starting point is 01:58:50 That's true. Yeah, you know, we got you with the kids, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, and the dog. He walk. And our kids are like, they hang out. Yeah, they're about to go to school together. That's so cool. They're about to go to school together.
Starting point is 01:59:01 Yeah, we met on How to Make it America and and we became thick as thieves, and we have not stopped hanging out. Is your wife in the business? No, she's not. She's in the fashion, but just to kind of piggyback, back in the day, dated a couple of actresses. And I just gave me so much props, man, because I just don't know how you guys make it work, man.
Starting point is 01:59:22 She's like the one non-crazy. Yeah, it's hard. Yeah, dude. I had no headshots, Paul. I just watch you guys. She's like the one non-crazy. Yeah, it's hard. Yeah, dude. I had a no headshots policy. I took that from Rogan. Rogan goes, Rogan, stop dating actresses. No headshots policy. Well, you and you, I mean, you're in the,
Starting point is 01:59:33 what about back in the day? Did you, yeah, you know, yeah, all right, well. That face says it all. That face says it all. Did he? Did he? I mean, actresses are amazing. Who didn't he?
Starting point is 01:59:42 They're crazy. In a lot of ways, they're amazing. They're charming. Yeah, super charming. They're the most beautiful women in the world with a person like hypnotized Yeah, yeah and great personalities and talented. Yeah, they kind of also act like they're good people But you found a good I did because jeanies, you know her she's first-generation Korean like her parents immigrants She's like a grinder man. She's like a grinder, man. She's like- Jin's enormous, they work whole different.
Starting point is 02:00:07 The enormous, they work great. Yeah, she's got a good heart. She's got a good heart. She's got a good heart. She's got a good heart. She doesn't like give into the bullshit. I mean, she plays the game, we have to, but like- She's a conservative culture.
Starting point is 02:00:15 She's a real person, you know? Dude, have you been to South Korea? Yeah. Do we party out there? Like in 2000, have you guys been? No, but I wanna go. No. We shot in Japan, we shot in Tokyo. remember this the second season when we were doing the
Starting point is 02:00:27 jeans in Japan so we took that we took that trip when we shot the show it was the first season that's like the second episode of the second season yeah Brian and I wrapped we're like this is amazing we got to go to Korea we went to Korea I mean I've already did up in your country the only thing I didn't like was seeing 15 year olds 15 year old kids getting drunk and like stumbling outside of the club. A little sloppy. On Jager Meister. On Jager Meister?
Starting point is 02:00:51 That's weird. Is he a soju? I mean they've asked him to be a soju. That was the only thing I was like, this is not kosher but we're going to keep it moving. Koreans are, Koreans are, it's a huge drinking culture. Yeah, I didn't realize it until I got there. Jin's drunk right now. I'm drunk right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.'t realize it until I got there. Jin's drunk right now. I'm drunk right now, yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:05 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that's why I asked you. Not kidding. Hard core. And a lot of coffee, too. And a lot of coffee. You guys love your coffee. Coffee and drinks, yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:13 Yeah, yeah. I want to go. But beautiful country. Yeah, well thank you. All right, what do you got, Jin? Let's take a break right now because you want to pre-work out for sex. Do you want to make sure that your wiener

Starting point is 02:03:47 Why not? Ooh. We're gonna start with the first one guys. Okay. 50 cents, sold the rights to the Diddy documentary. Wait, we sold the rights. He's so happy about this. I've been, do you follow him on Instagram?
Starting point is 02:03:58 He's so, he's controlling him for months. Forever, like he's just been, I mean, making this doc. I didn't know that. You know the name of the doc? Diddy Do It. Diddy Do It. Oh been, I mean, making the stock. I know that. You know the name of the doc? Did he do it? Did he do it? Oh my God. Oh, that's amazing.
Starting point is 02:04:09 Did they, did they, did they, what is the deal with them? Did they have a falling out? What is it that he hates about them? Bad guy. Yeah, I just think it's known in the industry he's a bad guy and 50's been going up. So I think 50's been working on the stock for a hot second because he knew he was going to get busted. Everybody was saying that. He knew he was going to get busted. I don't know what they're going to actually get him on.
Starting point is 02:04:28 So this documentary is going to be a lot like Surviving R. Kelly. There's three women coming forward to talk their part. And in addition to this just being sold to Netflix, they just came out today and said they're actually going to bring in three people for the grand jury for Diddy's case. So he's getting indicted probably really soon now. You don't want 50 cent as an enemy. No. If you're gonna get indicted. No.
Starting point is 02:04:50 He's doing whatever he can to put your weight. The ultimate troll. But how about there was like a bidding war for it and then I guess TMZ tried to bid on it and then obviously Netflix won because they have all the money in the world. And then TMZ put like a old picture of him when he's all fat.
Starting point is 02:05:03 He's like, damn, how you going to do me like this? Just because you didn't win the bidding war. He's like, business man. And they switched the picture. That's funny. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think there's no coming back from that. No, just that video alone.
Starting point is 02:05:15 I don't. Bad guy. Game's over for him. If I see that, I'm like, oh, you're just that piece of shit. How do I? And the way he tries to change his name. But his apology video was all about him. Yeah. I hit rock bottom. I you know, yeah you you you I went to rehab He's a he's a pathological narcissist. He's just not a good guy. Yeah, he'll get what's coming them, but everybody's
Starting point is 02:05:36 You know and also like getting what it was coming to him You know this this also goes back all the way since I mean like let's just keep yeah I mean, no, not only just biggie But like I don't know if you guys remember but back in the day when he brought the gun to the club Do you remember? Oh, what do you know? You shine and it's shiny There was rumors that shine actually like got a huge payout payout for taking this heard that so I think it was longtime Come on time. Yeah, Mary J. Lo was like, like, oh, you really think you're a gangster rapper? You have a gun? I'm out.
Starting point is 02:06:08 I'm out. You started dating Ben Affleck, the white guy, safe, right? And then they broke up, and now she's back with him. My wife just told me she just read something that they're breaking up. They're breaking up again. She went Rodriguez and back to Ben, now she's done with him too. Yeah. Well, she said-
Starting point is 02:06:24 I really thought that was going to work. Someone asked her a question and she was like, you know better than to ask me that. Oh shit. Like she's not talking about it right now. I love them together. I love Ben Affleck. Yeah, I thought that really worked again. I like them together.
Starting point is 02:06:34 You know what's funny? I always thought like every time you see video of them, like this is just my opinion, like when you would see video of JLo and Ben Affleck coming out of a restaurant or coming out of somewhere, they're walking down the street. I always find it funny when you see Ben Affleck and he's opening the door, the look on his face is disgusting. He's like, psh.
Starting point is 02:06:51 Oh, did you see that? And I was like, yo, something's up. The one time where he's like. That's what I'm saying. And then I was like, oh, maybe they're not as happy as people thought they were. Or he's just dating a Latino. Did you see what I was saying in those videos? No, I get it.
Starting point is 02:07:02 And you saw him opening the door and he's like, you know, like you open up the door for your lady. Oh, I've never related more to Ben Aff was saying in those videos? No, I get it. He started opening the door, he's like, like you open up the door for your lady. Oh, I've never related more to Ben Affleck. I went, oh, I get it. Yeah, Brendan. Listen, how do you analyze life? When you see that, we fall in there. We fall in there, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:07:14 I'm not one to analyze, you know, I'm just like, I'm not, I look at body language, and I'm like, they don't look that happy. No. When he slammed that door, I was like, God, I love this guy. I get it, dude. He's just sick of her shit.
Starting point is 02:07:26 He was like, fuck. You know? You said it all right there. That's it right there. And he's dating a Latina, which I did. You know, I'm married to a Latina, so it's like, I get it, dude. But it's like, you're not even dating a Latina,
Starting point is 02:07:36 you're dating an industry. Like, she's like, they're both industries within themselves. I don't know how that works. They live in a $61 million house. Not 60, but 61 million. That's the crib. Do you know how many people they probably support? Each one of them. It's crazy.
Starting point is 02:07:48 It's great. All right. We'll see. I'll be watching that doc for sure. I won't be. Oh, the Diddy doc. No, the 50 doc. The Diddy doc. Diddy do it.
Starting point is 02:07:56 Wildly wrong guess. This is so funny. This is so great. I don't know this one. He was right in the butt. Right? So much confidence. Hopefully the clips.
Starting point is 02:08:04 So much confidence. This guy's a freak. Watch. What's the other lady? Let's go in the butt. Right? So much confidence. Hopefully the clips. So much confidence. This guy's a freak, watch. My favorite's the other lady. What's the guy in the blue? Guy in the blue. I get it. Tavaris, right in the butt. Wait, listen to Pat.
Starting point is 02:08:16 Look at his eyes. Look at his back. He knew he fucked up. No. The black lady going, what? He knew he fucked up. Is that good? Is that good?
Starting point is 02:08:23 Yeah, that's it. No, right's not spelled with four letters right right in the book Well been the answer sorry guy that's gonna be on your tubes, though. That's it no matter what you did in your life That's what you remember. He went well sucks Self-voting oh that actor that guy, that sucks. Oh, it's this. Oh, dude. Oh, the general hospital guy got shot? They were trying to go for his um.
Starting point is 02:08:50 Cadillac Converters. Cars, talking about cars. Downtown LA. And it was downtown LA, yeah. That was fucked. And he like ran in a guy while he was stealing it and then they shot him. I don't know if he tried to fuck him.
Starting point is 02:08:59 No provocation, they just, they got, I guess they got startled and they just shot him. Yeah, that's the... I never met him, have you met him before? And I'm David Plouffe, and we have some surprising news. We're teaming up for a brand new podcast, the Campaign Managers. I know what you're thinking.
Starting point is 02:15:38 Why would Plouffe and Kellyanne do this? Because frankly, Kellyanne, we disagree on just about every issue except about what it takes to win a presidential campaign. Kellyanne ran Donald Trump's campaign, I ran Barack Obama's campaign. We understand things like early vote. We understand how to leverage an opportunity and how to play defense when you've made a mistake. 2024 is an election like none other and David Plouffe and I are going to take you behind the scenes like no one else can. We're going to lean into our one-of-a-kind experiences, really educate our listeners about what to keep an eye on,
Starting point is 02:16:10 and discuss the current strategies and tactics that both campaigns are deploying on the campaign trail. We're going to disagree, we're going to dissent, but we're going to deliver. You won't want to miss this unique pairing.
