Starting point is 00:00:00 Not many men can withstand my punch. Obviously. Obviously. For sure. Got a set of here on them. Black belts and chicknets. Uh, I think you'd be surprised. I think you'd be surprised.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Abbot Kenny Fight Club. Fight Club. Fight Club. Kids got a piece on them. Piece on them. Boppa one, two cutie pies. I still got it, baby. Lift your shield. And now from the Honored Studios in Playa, Vista, California.
Starting point is 00:00:33 It is the moment you've been waiting for. The fighter and the kid is coming at you live. No, no, we're not live. That doesn't matter, it sounds better when you say live. We're not live, we don't do live. Shut up, man. And now, it's the fighter and the kid. Live.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Shut up. This is not live. It's not live. Let's do it, baby. Come on. Let's do each other. Let's do each other real hard. Yeah, yeah. All right. Come on now. It's Monday, other real hard. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:05 All right, come on now. It's Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Bren and Shove, fresh off the bare knuckle, well, bare knuckle MMA. Game bread. Game bread productions. How was that? How was that?
Starting point is 00:01:16 First of all, I'd like to commend you on quietly, quietly paying for that guy's family. I can just see you doing it. I can just see you. The guy goes, I want my family here and I can just see you doing it. I can just see you. The guy goes, I want my family here and I can just see it bugging you and going, God, how much would have caught? I gotta do this.
Starting point is 00:01:31 I didn't ask that. I was just like, why aren't they here? He's like, I live in Mississippi, man. We can't afford to get out of here. We have the video. Can't say that to Brennan. We have the video, can we play it? I wish more people,
Starting point is 00:01:39 but I wish people more people knew this. This is very important. How many people Brennan has done this for? Like how much money? How much fucking money Brennan has spent on people he doesn't know? And so that is this thing that you never talk about. And it's so ridiculous, but this didn't surprise me
Starting point is 00:01:58 that you did this. But you didn't post this either. Somebody's like, I'll post it. He would never have posted this. Somebody else posted it. I didn't even know about it. I literally had to message him and say I saw this I know good for you dude you you flew him in did he win in front of his family here's the thing so my you know I'm spur of the moment like I got
Starting point is 00:02:16 it I get you covered I'm sitting there I'm like who's he fighting like to your bandwidth okay so he's like a ten-day I'm like a 10 day notice. Oh, you have seen veteran. I'm like a 10 day notice. Like, okay. Well, if I don't fly him in, he gets head kick KO'd in front of his kids. Yeah, you don't want that. That would be bad.
Starting point is 00:02:32 T.D. is a vet. That's not really his thing. I figured it'd be okay. He lost by submission the second round. Had a good outcome. It's all right. I met the family afterwards. Everyone was fine.
Starting point is 00:02:39 If you're gonna lose, great to have your family there. And also, like at least this is a man who is doing everything he can fighting to keep his family housed and fed, which is awesome. His name's Joshua Weems. But his... Joshua Weems?
Starting point is 00:02:54 That's a man. Yeah, but he's salute to you, brother. He's still Superman to his kids. They wanted to see him. Superman to me? Yeah, he's fine. He's getting in a cage and fighting. I'll tell you right now though,
Starting point is 00:03:03 after sitting cage side, having the best view in the in the stadium in the arena. Yeah, I'm glad I'm on the outside Because it's brutal. Oh, bud Because oh you'll love this you'll love this you'll love this so Favorite part is it is like them telling the fighters story So like so I have to sit down and interview all the fighters from pre-lamps to the main event, right? So you sit down, everyone. This guy comes in, looks on assuming, you know, whatever. And I'm looking at him, he has the least amount
Starting point is 00:03:32 of fights on the card. I go five and three, man, that's a big step up at five and three fighting game, Brad bare knuckle. And his coaches are laughing. And what are you guys laughing at? And he goes, he actually has over 150 fights. I'm sorry, what'd you say? go when he's 18 he moved to Thailand couldn't throw a punch or kick and got engulfed into Muay Thai.
Starting point is 00:03:54 So his name's Anvar Boy Nazaroff. Oh boy. Baba Baba. No you'll love this you'll love this. So I go oh wow that's cool man. So you did a lot of Muay Thai fights. He has a lot of Muay Thai fights. And his coach goes, oh, tell him about the prison fights. I go, I'm sorry, what's the prison fight? They go, well, in Thailand, Muay Thai is so big, one of the things programs that they have are called Muay Thai prison fights. So prisoners, whether they're in there for life,
Starting point is 00:04:18 for murder, multiple murders, they train them and then they compete against professionals. If they beat them, they get their freedom. And I go, oh, and you find that as many times. I go, well, dude, they're free. We got a lot of them win, right? He goes, absolutely not. I go, did you win?
Starting point is 00:04:32 He goes, uh-huh. I go, how many times you do this a bunch? And I go, how'd it go? He goes, all chaos. And then he's- Bring this guy up, bring this guy up. And then his coach goes, his coach goes, now think about how hard these prisoners are fighting
Starting point is 00:04:47 for their freedom. For their freedom. And he goes, and he starts every. Look at him. Oh, well, he looks like a game. He looks like he belongs in a video game. He's a video game guy. Just a giant head.
Starting point is 00:05:00 On the guy he's fighting, knocked him on 15 seconds. Oh, no. Flying knee knocked him on 15 seconds. Oh no. Flying knee knocked him on 15 seconds. Oh no. He's fighting Glor, yeah he's a monster. And he's not short, he's actually kind of tall. He's about 45. About Daneside?
Starting point is 00:05:14 45, yeah he's a smaller guy but still. Yeah. How about me? You only have, it says you're eight fights here, five and three and I said man you probably have the least experience here though. Oh yeah that's your 150 plus fights or five and three. I was like, man, you probably have the least experience here, though. Oh, yeah, that's your 150 plus fights went. Oh, my bad.
Starting point is 00:05:29 With those elbows and knees. And I went nuts when you knocked him out. I'm like, I tried to tell you this guy is a monster. Yeah, that's a whole different thing. It was so fun. I had so much fun. Really? Yeah. You know, me, I've I've I've hesitated doing anything for commentary for so long.
Starting point is 00:05:46 It makes you nervous. It makes you. It's the whole thing. But also the bare knuckle thing is very bloody. How did our boy, Jr. DeSantis do? He didn't get it. He fought Alan Belcher, who, you know, that's his thing. He's a world champion, bare knuckle.
Starting point is 00:05:58 And JDS, like, good man, his footwork. And then he surprised me. He took Alan down. And then that's where he won the fight. Because in the exchange, Alan went to get up. You know Alan's a certified black belt savage down there. Alan kicks off. Alan was a wrestler before that or no?
Starting point is 00:06:11 Jiu-Jitsu guy, big time Jiu-Jitsu guy. So he goes to get up and in the exchange get up Alan or JDS sits on one left hook drops him. Yeah. They're big and I kept, maybe, you know, and Alan did a post saying he was upset about my commentary and Ron Black's commentary more with Robin than me, but they were mad at your commentary. Well, Alan was just like, I felt you guys were biased while blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:06:31 So I talked to him on the shop show. We're good. Yeah. But my whole thing was, is like, there's weight class for a reason. You're giving up 20 pounds. So when he took you down, you have a 250, 250 pound man on top. It's going to be an issue. He's been, he's about your size, Junior, right?
Starting point is 00:06:45 Yes. Well, I'm 238. He's 250 on different supplements. You know what I'm saying? Like he's 65, 250. Allen's 62, 230, 231, like light in the pants. Smaller frame. You're giving up 20 pounds.
Starting point is 00:07:01 That's a lot. 20 pounds. So that's why I'm saying like, Allen landed a lot of shots, but Junior has 20 pounds on pounds so that's why I saying like it like Alan landed a lot of shots But junior has 20 pounds on yes It's a lot of junior is more of a veteran than Alan Belcher overall. No, no same same same Oh, man, but I was gonna fight for it. He's had bigger fights You in the UFC. Yeah, not in bear not cuz again
Starting point is 00:07:22 Alan took time off then came back got released from the UFC. And he's been fighting Bear Knuckles. Bear Knuckles. And Pro Boxing. Five-known Pro Boxing. Wow. Bear Knuckles World Champion. Then comes the Gamebred World Champion. Like, dude's crushing. The monster. Alan's no pump. How old is he? Savage. 40? Yeah, probably. Yeah. But just like a real general. Like, everyone looks up to this guy. Like, he's, helps a lot of guys out. There's a guy, Tyler Hill was addicted to drugs, Alan took him under his wing, got him sober, he fought.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Like Alan's like a, everyone looks to him for guidance. Like he's a straight up general. That's awesome. But it was cool man. So you loved it. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Did you see Gamebred there? Jorge? Oh yeah. Yeah, Yeah. How's he? What was he dressed like? Of, I mean, he's a, he's a, he's a legit promoter. Do you think this promotion has a, I mean, were there a lot of people there? So yeah, packed. Really packed.
Starting point is 00:08:15 So he's, so Jorge Mazvedal, he's on something. And that's why I want to get involved. Like the ones that are already kind of doing their thing and they're kind of already made their mark, like game bread, working on it they're big they have a really big announcement coming up huge massive really because I feel like the only difference is that there are no gloves this is bare knuckle right that's very interesting it's very interesting it's only legal in Florida like Tennessee Mississippi and they're trying to get legal in New Orleans
Starting point is 00:08:45 right now. Does it change the, does it change the way people fight? It changes like Alan Belcher, the cuts are going to be easier. That's a problem. It depends. You know, it just depends. It changes like guys don't really sit down on their shots and exchanges. Like you see a lot of one shots.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Because they don't want to down on those shots and exchanges like you see a lot of one shots because they don't want to break their hands. No, that A maybe some of that B like you can't be there for the counter because there's no room for error, you're gonna get knocked out. So you won't see like a four-point punch combo and someone sit down. Because when there's gloves you can afford.
Starting point is 00:09:19 You can't block this way. It's tough. Yeah, it's tough. Yeah. So it's different. These guys are really good at it. Yeah, somebody throws a hook in your hands here. You're going to get caught behind the ear. It was great.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I loved it. Absolutely loved it. Had so much fun. So much fun, which I didn't think I would. Yeah. And Robin Black's great. Yeah, it was great. Yeah, once you're in there, Robin Black's great.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Great. He's really good. Yeah, all of it was fun. Did Robin fight? He did. Yeah, he fought like twice. But he's comatated like over, I mean, must be over over a thousand fights. No, he's shit. Yeah, that's great He was the best. Yeah, I was I was on I was on stage
Starting point is 00:09:50 I kept trying to find it and I was watching bare knuckle fighting and I was waiting for you I was like I can't hear a kick and I was like now Yeah, I was on kids what was it on kicks yet? They have an exclusive deal with kick so all the stream is kicking app Yeah, I think so. I don't really think it's a browser, but I'll take a look at it. That's not a browser Someone told me there's a browser. Okay. Yeah, it could be an app as well But I heard it was about yeah, but they use it for like it's a streaming. I I got to sit through I think Adrian Ross owns it I got to sit through a three-hour production of Phantom of the Opera that my daughter's in
Starting point is 00:10:23 and obviously What was that? Oh, no, cuz you were in Sunday after a little of a light production of Phantom of the Opera that my daughter's in. And obviously, I mean. What was that? Oh, no, because you were in. Sunday after a little of a light. Oh, you were in Louisville. They came in. But I sat for three hours. Then I saw Sam's triply do his special.
Starting point is 00:10:34 What's a busy Sunday, buddy? But the, the, I'll tell you this about when you go to see a high school production, you know how it's usually really amateur. But guess what? We're in LA. Yeah, they stepped the game up. And it's a whole different level. Yeah, yeah, like.
Starting point is 00:10:46 It'd be maybe a kind of like, who would be the best basketball team in America? Like, you know. Like, gonna Sierra Canyon basketball game. This is what it's like. You have like P. Diddy there, you have Drake there. This is literally what it's like. These kids are all going D1.
Starting point is 00:10:57 When I tell you I saw these kids and they have Broadway level voices, I was like, are you out of your fucking mind? I couldn't believe it. And the dancing, the orchestra, everything was like. Three hours. Oh dude, three I couldn't believe it and the dancing the orchestra everything Three hours. Oh dude three hours intermission now my daughter kept me going, but I'm gonna tell you this right now She's only a sophomore so she had a small part. You know she was in the background, but but um Watching that having to sit through phantom of the opera not my kind of music not my kind of show
Starting point is 00:11:24 Like that kind of music at all I don't like that kind of music not my kind of show That kind of music at all I don't like that kind Lloyd Webber's got a lot of bangers. Yeah, yeah, yeah Sure does cats is a man hard pass cats is amazing, but I still can't probably sit through I like memories and then I'm gonna be out You know it was a long afternoon and it was that night when they do it like do it? Like six? It was at three in the afternoon, sir. That's when daddy gets tie-tied. Three to six. No, daddy gets tie-tied.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Yeah. When my daughter was up, I'm like, I'm watching my daughter. What character was she? She was in the background. She's only, she's just a sophomore. Don't say it lightly. I was in background drama.
Starting point is 00:11:56 No, she had a great, she was great. She sang, but she's part of the ensemble. She was the tree. There are a lot of different parts. You know the tree? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, there are a lot. It's a huge cast. There's a lot of different parts you know the tree yeah there are a lot it's a huge cast she's in there a lot of different parts but when you see the 18 year olds that are there that are singing a level yeah a
Starting point is 00:12:12 singing on a level that I'm telling you is American Idol shit you're like oh okay well that that's that's some work to do yeah that like a she's a sophomore this is a soft yeah of course she's not gonna be the starting quarterback is often that's exactly unless she's an absolute freak. Freak, yeah. But it takes work. She'll be great. I was a high school drama geek.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I was a background. So give me an example, the kid who played Phantom has. The order of Caprio. He's already been on Broadway. Okay. He's already been on Broadway. All right, that's not even fair. I know.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Like he's a, with a legit large heart. He's got a sad heart in every ring. It's LA, so these kids want to do for a living. Yeah, monsters. Yeah. Dude, I took the red eye to fly back because, you know, I'm the coach on the football team and we were the number one seed in the playoffs. You win one game, then we go to the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I was like, all right, I'm not going to make the first playoff game. I'll make the Super Bowl. We get I get one hour sleep fly and I take an Uber here. I'm texting my wife and like, what quarter is it? Where is it? For what reason? They usually break between games. They push it.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Like no, no break. I'm like, oh, hell no. Wait, no, in other words. Meaning I'm gonna miss the first half at least. Cause usually there's a break and they push it. I'm like, no, I'm so mad. Uber driver right by it. I'm like, dude, where are you going? Well, I was like it. There's like
Starting point is 00:13:27 Three minutes left. I'm like, oh hell no in the in the first half. No in the game So I'm like, oh no, no, I go just stop here. I get out and run with my luggage I get there. I see just Tiger bet down the ball and them celebrate Like okay, and then I gave out the awards. That's a bummer. It's all season, all season. Because the whole season I'm there. I got a text from you, you're sitting there smiling with your son. And it just says, we won, undefeated,
Starting point is 00:13:54 we won the championship, you fuck. Oh. My wife was like, that's so aggressive. I was like, that's how guys talk to each other. And then now, no, now baseball season starts today. It's first games today. You're gonna coach that. You don't know baseball though, do you?
Starting point is 00:14:10 I know the mechanics. I played baseball in high school. I didn't play pro. Obviously I know football way better, but mechanics, discipline, I'll be out there. That starts today. First game with the Braves today. So cool.
Starting point is 00:14:21 It's a game today, Thursday, Sunday. Baseball's nonstop, nonstop. So cool. Is the game today, Thursday, Sunday? Baseball's nonstop. Nonstop. Nonstop. Man, and Tiger just gets out on the football field and does some work. Crushes it, yeah. Just work.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Does well. Made for football. The kids you're talking about at your daughter's play, that's Tiger to every other adult watching kids play. Oh, I know, big kids. It's like DK Metcalfe, I went down that rabbit hole. His dad played pro football was in 310 pounds It's like you're looking at a whole different thing. You're like, okay, you know now
Starting point is 00:14:50 You got that mint 400 race this weekend dog leave Thursday. You got that about a six eight hour race I don't know if you know I'm in that truck for six day. I feel like Tim Kennedy's gonna be in that race. I Don't think so. No. No, cuz I might be there I'm gonna throw with him and Jimmy Johnson and he was asking Jimmy for advice and Jimmy just said just finish finish the race got a finish got a finish Yeah, maybe I didn't check I would know yeah, but I would imagine right maybe the co-driver something like that I don't know. I would know I'll hit him up. That'd be great if he is yeah Yeah, I gotta do a thing with Cowboy on Friday being Calvary to together. Really? Yeah, because Cowboy's in it. Cowboy races like five, six times a month. Like he's all in, has his own trucks, team,
Starting point is 00:15:30 like big operation. Yeah, Cowboy's crushing it. He's crushing it. Crushing it. I knew Cowboy would crush it. So helpful too. Cowboy helps me with everything. He's the best.
Starting point is 00:15:38 He's the best. He told me, he goes, he goes, we're friends, right? He goes, I'm telling you right now, man. If I'm behind you, I'm gonna run you off the road. I says that legal yours. It sure is he was not most guys won't but I well He was I'm playing to win. I'm like, alright, dude be cool man. No, I said or just go around. He was absolutely not No cowboy will fucking he's the best. Yeah, he's I'm so proud of him. I love him crush in it, dude He's just one of those guys a good insane career in the UFC UFC He's just a winner man. Yeah, you've known him
Starting point is 00:16:07 I mean you've known him since he was probably 21 for a hot right yeah, cuz I because I know that you know him stayed with him well Well because when I was doing a warrior he was nobody knew him when I was doing he was fighting Yeah, that's my boy 145. Yep. I believe and he was or maybe 55 But his managers Sven and ring of fire. I knew him was fighting We're gonna fire when he was 15 years ago. I'm not no I'm not Cal way probably 20 something years. Yeah, man That's my boy. Yeah, he's the best. Yeah, I know in that while damn He's so funny. Yeah, he's the absolute now and now he's like juiced and just
Starting point is 00:16:44 Set a hair. He's a superstar. He's like, I'll tell you how to gain best. And now he's like, choosed and just the hair transplant. Is that a hair? He's a superstar. He's like, I'll tell you how to gain weight. You know, I was like, damn, dude. Yeah, he's funny. He was like, get ready, man. This truck culture is different, man. They're gonna be going crazy over it.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And he's like, it's me. Wow. He was, you know, in this truck, he was the second most famous guy. I went, who's first? I thought he'd say BJ Baldwin. He's like, me dumbass. I was like, oh yeah, that's fair
Starting point is 00:17:09 I love he's the best. I love that guy absolute best We got big fights this weekend bub big fights you Friday. Let me tell you so just so you know you got Friday You got Joshua Francis and Francis and Ghana Can I get your prediction on that because we're gonna talk to somebody about that a little bit here? Yeah, so you got that Friday and then we got UFC 299, which I think is better than 300. Wow. That's this Saturday in Miami. Miami. Uh, well, I'm looking forward to talking to Chail about this.
Starting point is 00:17:33 We're, yeah, we're calling in the big dog, Chail. Chail Sonnen. Who just started new podcasts with DC, good guy, bad guy. Did you see that Nate Diaz didn't call it said that called DC not a real fighter. Yeah. What? Hey, Nate, Nate, Nate, it's just not a good. Come on. Let's watch this. Hey. Unless you're an idea is like complete dick writer. Nobody's no, even if you're a dick, I'm an I'm an eight Diaz dick writer.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Yeah, I love Nate, but also sometimes when somebody you can be a dick writer the way I am. And hey, Nate, that's that's a you give me a dick writer the way I am and hey Nate Yes, that's that's a ridiculous thing to say. He was drunk. Yeah, he I think Nate was just talking No, that's what he always does but but Daniel Cormier DC needs to stick up for himself more He's like me people take shots doesn't have to stay up for himself with them not a real fighter He lost I think he lost to steep a and John Jones twice and that's it undefeated Well, it was overturned. Yeah, thank you Remember he was a strike force world champion go through the resume that he's a strike force light heavyweight champion Then you have see heavyweight monster. No and then Olympian. No, it's the best
Starting point is 00:18:35 Well, he's a two-tie. He's a two division belt holder and an Olympian. Yeah. Oh So what else does he have to do to be a fighter? It's curious. Well, it doesn't make sense. But DC's like me. He's so nice until, until he's not. I tell you, respect a lot of fighters take shots at DC. He lets it go. He's a commentator, right?
Starting point is 00:18:53 I've only been commenting for two hours and someone's already talking shit. Yeah. Okay, cool, cool, cool. And then eventually not a fighter. He'll beat your ass right now. DC will beat your ass. But the guy's the first bout hall of fame, right? It's just a bad it's not it's just not a good
Starting point is 00:19:09 It's just not a good very strange thing to say again. I'm in Nate Diaz. Now now if John Jones says it to him Okay, yeah, if Even then if well, yeah, if mighty mouse Johnson said to him Yeah, could be like these guys that are at that height of the game. Right. Okay, whatever. They would say it. They wouldn't even if they did.
Starting point is 00:19:29 John, John Wood Jones for sure. If GSP says it, okay. But when Nate said it's like, Bubba, you, you know, even the same category. It's not even comparable. Now we love Nate and he's a legend, his owner, a different way. I say legend loosely different when it comes down to like the nuts and berries of the fight game these season a different stratosphere I don't but that's not even a knock on Nate or is Anybody not many guys are no two division champion. You're in rear-ear, dude break rear-ear
Starting point is 00:20:02 But it's not it's not gonna go physical fighting stupid when I'm talking about physical fighting, we're talking about resumes. Yes. They're not. Yes. One's over here and the other's all the way over here. Yeah. Yeah, it's not. It's a strange, it was a strange comment.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Yeah, but we're talking about it. That's what Nate wants. Yeah. But how is DC supposed to come back with something? No, I mean, if you're DC, you just go like this. Yeah. Like, I go, I go, DC, you just go like this. Yeah, like, is it a mean? I go, I go, Nate, come on now.
Starting point is 00:20:27 No, and there's that approach with just be quiet. Let me do your thing. DC gets a lot of it. And finally, I'm proud of him. He's like, no, hold on, hold up. Are you out of your goddamn mind? We're not even in the same goddamn category. Sometimes I get the older thing, people like,
Starting point is 00:20:41 just be quiet, let people talk at some point, especially if it's another professional. No, hold up, dude. Call me a bitch. You know what the fuck? Look at my resume, dude. Like at some point, enough's enough. I'm proud of DC.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Bisbee can fire right back at you. Go ahead and talk to you about Bisbee. Did DC fire back? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Hell yeah, he did. He was like running in the same category

Starting point is 00:24:19 It's the bad guy and the good guy. Are you doing that today? You're doing it via zoom? Yeah, we did it by zoom and how to get hot first episode go You know, I thought it was pretty good. We covered like what happened over the weekend Which you know, I don't know if you I don't know how far you can get covering the fight night cards Yeah, there's not a lot of meat on that. Yeah, but is is DC is DC kind of scared now that on that. Yeah, but is DC kind of scared now that Nate Diaz said he wasn't a real fighter? Because I know he must be emotional and probably a little scared. Probably doesn't know what to do with himself because, you know, he he got a little worked up over that action. I thought he kind of misinterpreted. I thought Nate was being more playful than DC did, but it seemed like striking
Starting point is 00:25:02 a cord. Oh, you know, you know why though, Chail? And it's like so many guys take shots at DC. You know, there's like, Concey taking shots, his commentating, his commentary. Concey taking shots and it's like, hold on. This dude is a first ballot bona fide hall of famer. So I'm glad he stuck up for himself. You both got a lot of kind of drama going on because Mazvedal, who I was with over the weekend, Mazvedal is coming at you now saying, you know, you're not a real gangster. So both you guys are on the chopping block here.
Starting point is 00:25:31 My, my thing about both you guys is that you're both quite a bit bigger than both those other guys. And I think they're joking around. I think, I think there's some, there's some ribbing going on. And Nate Nate was kidding. Hori's got to be joking a little bit. Right. No, Hori wants to fight him. That's why. Right? No, Hori wants to fight him.
Starting point is 00:25:46 That's why he's doing it. Hori wants to fight you? I will tell you, Mosvill had like the most insincere retirement ever when he did it. I felt like we could all tell no he's not done. He wants to keep doing this. Yeah. I don't know how he wants to fight me or I mean I'm retired.
Starting point is 00:26:02 I don't know how serious he was about that but I think he does want to do something. And by the way what happened wants to fight me or he I mean I'm retired I don't know how serious he was about that but I think he does want to do something and by the way what happened mother Mazda and Diaz they got announced they were gonna box that got announced but then it got it got ran back no it's coming it's coming I don't think I'm at liberty to tell when it's happened I'll tell you off here but it's out it's coming all right they got a big announcement coming up big venue too but this Mazdavedal actually want to fight Chale Summit? And that's not true. Why wouldn't it?
Starting point is 00:26:29 I don't know, I just feel like Chale's two way classes. That's gotta get your blood going a little bit. You've already retired, but that's gotta, it's, you're just a, you still a fighter. It's gotta get you going a little bit, Chale. Cause you stay in shape. Last time I saw you, you were every bit of 235. Your head is much bigger than people realize.
Starting point is 00:26:47 And I was like, I mean, I've spent time with Jorge and I've spent time with you and you're much bigger walking around. And I feel like you're always, you're always staying tight. You're always, you're always training. I will tell you, it caught me very much off guard, but I thought it was useful. Like, here's my rankings rankings whether I'm right or wrong
Starting point is 00:27:06 I know I'm at least close Conor McGregor biggest draw Mazda brawl number two Diaz number three I'm at least close on that Yeah So having the second biggest draw in the sport calling you out has to be a good thing But what do I do with it? I literally was driving in my car thinking that what do I do with that? What do I spin that into how do I get attention off of like what where do we go from here? I'm not sure how we got here in the first place right and yeah The whole thing was a little bit baffling because he wasn't offering me a fight like he has a promotion
Starting point is 00:27:39 And they're paying pretty good money from what I hear, but he wasn't offering me a match I didn't really know what happened. Maybe just set it up for down the road. Maybe after he gets done with Nate, maybe you'd like something with you, who knows. I would tune in. I would tune in. He set it up.
Starting point is 00:27:53 I think it's a respect thing too. It means you're doing something right. You retired how long ago, and guys are still calling you out, or your name's still in the media. So I think it's a good thing. But jail, the real reason we brought you here, not for all this drama and you know right all this gossip
Starting point is 00:28:06 the UFC 299 is this Saturday and then Friday you got Francis Anthony Joshua let's start with Friday Anthony Joshua Francis thoughts on that I love it I really do the most surprising sporting event I have ever witnessed was Francis versus Fury. I have never seen an upset like this. And I understand that Francis didn't win. I have never seen anything like that. Like talk about, you know, telling children,
Starting point is 00:28:36 if you dream, if you wanted to know, if you can aspire, I could not believe a guy with zero experience just went 30 minutes with the greatest heavyweight boxer alive, I just couldn't believe. Plus he put him down, one licensed judge says he won the entire fight. I thought they were gonna announce him
Starting point is 00:28:54 the winner of the fight. I mean, I'm just sharing for you. The other question, did he overperform and did Fury underperform? And that we really don't know. Joshua sure thought that Francis overperformed. I mean, he had a chance. He had a chance to fight Francis early on
Starting point is 00:29:08 when Francis couldn't fight anybody in no contract that you have seen. He sat there with his mouth shut. The second that fight was done, he's jumping up and down trying to get it. I mean, I thought that was a bit of a scumbag move by Joshua. Joshua's been able to fight Fury for the last 10 years
Starting point is 00:29:21 and somehow has found a way to not fight Fury. So, I mean, not for nothing. I think Francis is the live dog. I was with him over the weekend in Saudi Arabia and by with him means I saw him. He was in the building that I was in. But you know how massive he is. I mean, he is such a specimen. He is just a special looking, intimidating presence.
Starting point is 00:29:42 And I generally would never think that he could hold up the conditioning to go 30 minutes a box and he just got too much body to move around and one thing that he did not do against Fury is he did not react to any of Fury's faints and when they asked Francis about it they were paying him a compliment hey you weren't reacting to any of his faints he said that is it because I was so good. He said I was Fearful that I didn't want to waste my energy. So that's why I didn't you know, Flint Hmm, I just thought it was an interesting comment
Starting point is 00:30:14 But a guy now that he's gone a half hour 30 minutes out there now. He's in there with Joshua I think it's a very interesting fight me. I think Francis beats him. How do you like? Oh, wow? You think you beat them that I would never pick against Francis ever again because going to that fury fight, I'm like, listen, sweet science. This guy don't have a chance. He has no experience. He's going against the greatest heavyweight to ever do it, in my opinion. But he's surprised, an element surprise. Who knows if fury prepared properly for that? Now the cat's out of the bag. Francis can box. Joshua goes, I'll do it. So now Joshua has the advantage. He's watching 10 rounds of Francis actually boxing so that element of surprise is gone.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Yeah. Joshua is going to prepare for the best version of Francis because now again the element of surprise is gone there. So I think this is a much more difficult fight for Francis. Not saying he can't win. Francis can knock out anybody. Joshua gets hit and I'm rooting for Francis. I just think it's going to be a much tougher fight. I would also say the way yeah When you say that go ahead Mr. Francis if he does lose like where does he go from there? Does he have a guarantee with the Saudi some say that he does? MMA and PFL and that was a hard one to start with it looks like he has an opponent but coming off a loss telling the
Starting point is 00:31:23 Story becomes a little bit more difficult. I feel like he's really in a must-win situation, which doesn't have to mean get your hand raised. You know, you can overperform and just beat expectations, but I think he's got to look good. I think it's important that he can beat Joshua. I think Joshua, though, is every bit, in a lot of ways, probably as strong and hits harder than Fury, especially in the inside.
Starting point is 00:31:43 That's not a tougher fight. Yeah, and I think my feeling is this is, harder than Fury, especially in the inside. That's why I'm saying it's a tougher fight. Yeah, and I think my feeling is, this is, you may very well see that Joshua has just more patterns. He's just a better boxer. He's been doing it longer, better shape, stronger than Fury, or just, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:59 in terms of just his athleticism and stuff like that. And I think- He's also taken it seriously. He's taken it very seriously. So he's got that jab. Remember what he did to Andy Ortiz in the second fight? Kevin and the Bay Ruiz, I'm sorry. Great jab, honest toes, but he's also got power.
Starting point is 00:32:16 And he's also got, I think Joshua has the ability, as in you would know this better than anybody in jail because you box for a long time. He understands probably how to read what what um you know in Gano's patterns are. He'll figure his patterns out. But he's Soda Tyson and he got clipped. Yeah I feel like. He got clipped and Joshua has been knocked down more than Tyson. Yes he has and he gets it. My only the only reason why I favor Francis in this fight a little more than I did in the Fury, cause Joshua will exchange.
Starting point is 00:32:47 And anybody who's willing to exchange with Francis, I don't care who you are. Tyson, Joshua, Wilder, Usick, if Francis hits you, you're going down. So I'll take that gamble there. I would say that, I don't know if this is true. What do you guys think about this? Is Joshua faster? Does he have faster hands than in Ghana? Or is that, is that, am I wrong?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Does it even matter? Right on, what do you think? You know, he looks slower against Tyson Fury, but then again, if you see his uppercut- You saw Francis look slow? He looked a little slower than I had seen him in the UFC. Oh, I thought he looked better. Oh no, see that was the surprise. Oh, I thought it looked better. Oh, no, see, that was the surprise to me.
Starting point is 00:33:25 It's Francis Boxing, look fantastic. Because in the UFC, he looks very unorthodox, very wild. You look at the Rosenstruck fight, he's very wild, chins up. I'm like, dude, Tyson's gonna destroy him. No, comes out against Fury and he's locked and loaded. Good technique, good head movement, good footwork. So I think Anthony Joshua, again, his advantage is
Starting point is 00:33:47 he knows what he's getting, Tyson didn't. That's the difference. So, and back to your original question, Chale, if not, not even a question, but your point, if Francis loses what happens, I think he's won no matter what. So if he just knocks Joshua down, the MMA community still support him the box screen is going
Starting point is 00:34:05 The guy only has one fight he knocked down the gold medalist former in multi-time world champion Anthony Joshua this insane I think the fury rematch is always gonna be there and I think Deontay Wilder is looking for a dance part partner No matter what so I think he still has those two no matter what the outcome unless he gets knocked out in 15 seconds But if he just puts up somewhat of a fight or has some success, fury and wilder their form, MMA, I don't think we ever see him in. Hmm, sure. Yeah, it's hard to imagine.
Starting point is 00:34:33 And Francis has told us things over time that we've kind of thought, OK, you're not going to be able to pull that off. But then he's pulled them off and just to remind you, he did make a comment that he's got a guarantee and he only said this one time. But I stored it away. He says he's got a guarantee Joshua win or lose guaranteed he gets the fury rematch and You know contracts are a little different the way they're doing businesses is a little different. I don't know
Starting point is 00:34:58 For sure that you could hold somebody or force somebody to get in there But he did make that comment and I do remember when he said go oh well that's that's very interesting not to mention when you get guys is so important I think that Wilder did not look great in his last fight and Wilder was a leading candidate to fight Francis so almost if you imagine that they did fight Francis likely the Francis the font fury would have beaten Wilder. That would have been huge. Huge. That would be such a huge score. People forget how big he is like you were saying. He was 272 and it's all muscle. 272 pounds of muscle.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Wilder was 218, 219 I think the last time he fought. Think about that. That's a huge difference. I mean, it's just a huge difference. As hard as he punches. Francis' best matchup is Wilder. To get like a straight up bona fide knockout, Wilder's the best dance partner there.
Starting point is 00:35:46 So moving on from Box and Chail, UFC 299 Miami. I think it's a better card than 300. Oh, top to bottom. I'm not saying 300 is bad. Everyone's giving me all this flack going, what do you mean casual, 300 is a good card? I'm not saying it's not a good card. I'm saying for being the 300 event,
Starting point is 00:36:02 I like 299 better. Which is a personal thing. Are you excited for 299? I am. I'll tell you what I'm surprised about is, in St. Denise's of Stutt, all that nice stuff, I'm surprised that he's a favorite over Dustin Poirier. I'm not quite sure what people are seeing.
Starting point is 00:36:18 And we've got that old adage in our sport, you're only as good as your last fight. I've heard it a million times, Dustin Poirier looked pretty good in his last fight, even with that head kick and going down me poor is about as tumbled but night as you're gonna find for a wanted five rounds they you know in exchange for taking this on on shorter notice he got spotted two rounds and I like pouring in that fight man I'm not sure he
Starting point is 00:36:39 doesn't win all five of those rounds as a matter of fact yeah I agree but it's also to your point with Benoit St-Denise. Remember, talked about a jump up in competition. He beat Matt Favreola, the steamroller, who's great. But you're going from basically an on-ranked guy to the number, what, two, three guy in the division? And I know he lost to Gagey, but you're talking about a huge leap in competition. And he's the favorite as well. Which again, your point to me, it's wild that he's such a kind of a bigger favorite over Dustin Poirier. Yeah. And he's going to feel it.
Starting point is 00:37:12 I mean, even though that's not the main event, it's being treated like a main event. Poirier is going to get the largest reception. They made it five rounds. They got us sold out building. I mean, I think that St. Denise is really up against it. I'm surprised with the odd makers there. And then by the way, I don't know if you check this, but O'Malley is officially the favorite as well. And the only reason I
Starting point is 00:37:33 bring that to your attention is these guys have already fought. And while the ending was weird, so many times, like as a viewer, there's some piece of psychology, but if you watch something in the ending is weird you discount everything that happened prior to the ending. I remember Anderson the first time he fought Weidman. Weidman got him with like a back fist and Anderson had his hands down and therefore we dismissed the seven and a half minutes that Weidman had dominated that fight to the point that when they rematched it was the the exact same odds, two to one favorite for Anderson. So I just bring that to you that I don't know
Starting point is 00:38:08 between Cheeto and O'Malley, like the only they would know, but they have a pretty good idea between them who's gonna win that fight. They got a pretty good idea between them who wants to win the fight, who was winning the first fight. They're never gonna tell us, but they both know, whoever's gonna win that fight, the two of them already know.
Starting point is 00:38:23 Yeah, I'm excited for that fight. I, it's at, you know, and sugar just claims it as a win, stuff like that. The main event for whatever reason to me isn't the story of this card. It's a good fight, but you don't see a ton of hype around the main event for whatever reason.
Starting point is 00:38:40 I don't know why, but the rest of the card is stacked like Kevin Holland, Michael Venom Page, Kevin Holland, pretty good sizeable favorite as well. You know, I like that. Why is that? Is that because, it can't be because of Kevin Holland's striking. I don't think he's a striker than Venom Page is.
Starting point is 00:38:55 He's a good striker. But is it his, he's a black belt in Jiu Jitsu. Is it that? I mean, I think it's up in the air with Michael Venom Page. I'd like your input, Chair, but whenever these guys come over from Bella tour or PFL, a lot of them struggle. It's just it's a different level in the UFC. Like what what the guys that Kevin Holland have faced, you know,
Starting point is 00:39:15 that his resume is way tough for the Michael Vennan Pages. So we don't know how he's going to perform. So I think the odd makers go, we don't know. It's pretty close. We don't know though. What what your thoughts on Michael Vennan Page coming over? It's pretty close. We don't know though. What, what, what's your thoughts on Mike, but on page coming over, it's also about five years too late to be honest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Well, he is such a wildly exciting guy, but historically speaking, guys underperform in their first performance in the UFC for whatever reason, uh, right off the top of my head is Eddie Alvarez lost his debut to cowboy. So Roni goes on to be the champion of the world. Uh, it goes on to do a $17.2 million gate in New York City against Conor. Just for example, guys, they gotta feel it out. It's a little different in the back.
Starting point is 00:39:54 The shape's a little different. The smell's a little different. The sounds, all of the attention, everything that comes with it, it just doesn't generally lend to a guy's best performance. Now, contrary, I think that the matchmakers wanted something favorable for MVP.
Starting point is 00:40:09 I think the decision makers, pick Kevin Holland, because they don't think that he could beat MVP. So, you know, do what you want with that. I think somebody goes and... I gotta go back this. Yeah. I gotta go back.
Starting point is 00:40:21 I know we were on Mosvall and then we got off of Mosvall, but I gotta stay on this real fast, because when you do talk about Mosvall and he wants to fight and he wants to go make a bunch of money and he's a really big name, there is one guy that called him out that he did not respond to and that is Mike Perry. And as far as like a bare knuckle fight for me that works
Starting point is 00:40:38 that would make me excited that he stopped what I'm doing, mark on my calendar. Jesus, no do it. I did that go no way. Somebody's losing their teeth in that one. Oh boy. Did you guys ever hear a response from Mazavral though? I didn't hear him say anything.
Starting point is 00:40:50 And I don't know anybody that calls out Mazavral and doesn't get an answer. Mike's a lot, again, Mike's a lot bigger. Mike's a bigger framed guy than Jorge. Jorge is 455, what did Mike fight? I was just with both the guys over the weekend, the pretty, pretty similar. But that's because Jorge right now is not training.
Starting point is 00:41:06 But frame-wise, Mike Perry is bigger. He fought at 85, Mazvinov fought at 55. No way could Mike Perry ever get down to 55, never. Not if his life depended on it. That makes a huge difference. And especially if you're bare knuckle and the way he fights where he puts his head down and just starts throwing bombs.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Well, Mike and Jorge fight at 85 now, B. Yeah, I understand, but there's still a frame difference. It just makes it different. That's not a reason why they fight him, though. He's fight at 85. No, Jorge will fight anybody. Jorge will fight anyone. I'm just trying to say that I don't like that fight.
Starting point is 00:41:39 I will tell you just for conversation's sake, and it's been five years, but Perry fought at two different weight classes in the UFC 55 and 70. He never fought above 70. He did just to remind you. He fought at 55. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:52 He was 55. Oh my God. My bad. Sorry. And 70. Well, but he seems big and you know, then he goes and he gets in there with Luke Rock called him. He seems big, but thick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Yeah. That's that's actually your mind playing a trick on you, man. Those guys are about the same time. Yeah, they are. I want to go back to Sean O'Malley and Marlon Verley. You guys don't seem that excited. I am so excited about the 35-pound weight class. I think Sean O'Malley has that magic sauce, that thing where
Starting point is 00:42:17 he just, he fights his best when all of it is on the line. Like, there's something about that guy. That's that championship kind of gear that he has that he seems to prove over and over again. And Marlon Verre's obviously as good as it gets, probably a little more conservative of a fighter, a little bit more fundamental in his fighting than would be Sean O'Malley.
Starting point is 00:42:39 I don't know how to categorize that, but are you saying that they already, you were saying they already know who's gonna win that fight, what do you mean by that? They already fought. Yes, but are you saying that they already, you were saying they already know who's gonna win that fight? What do you mean by that? They already fought. Yes, but Sean's foot died on that fight, right? Well, why did it die?
Starting point is 00:42:52 Well, he got checked. He got beat. Sure. He got beat. You watch that fight, he got beat. Yeah, but he got beat. Does Sean get better and better every time he shows up? That's what it feels like.
Starting point is 00:43:03 He feels like a winner to me. Yeah. I mean, like that old expression, be careful what you ask for, because you just might get it. Like some guys stop themselves from reaching certain potentials. You know, the lights get too bright. I was in Boston when O'Malley fought Aljo for the title.
Starting point is 00:43:18 And I remember him stopping before he turned to go into the cage and he addressed the crown. He did one of these numbers, but it was a standing ovation. 17,400 people were on their feet for him. before he turned to go into the cage and he addressed the crown, he did one of these numbers, but it was a standing ovation. 17,400 people were on their feet for him. There was no booze, there was no one against him. It was unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:43:33 And he went out and had the performance of a lifetime. And I kind of thought, okay, he caught Aljo and Aljo spoke about it afterwards and said, no, that guy's faster, that guy's got the angles like I've never had to deal with. Aljo really put him over and I go, oh, wow. OK. I thought I saw really good performance.
Starting point is 00:43:49 That's right. This is going to be, both of these guys have high fight IQs. And this feels like it's going to be a striking match, right? My thing, I just keep thinking about the large, well, I keep thinking about Marab and I keep thinking about. Well, well, I keep thinking about Marabh and I keep thinking about- Well, that's what I was gonna say. Like, let's say the favorite wins here. Let's say Sugar were to get over on Cheeto.
Starting point is 00:44:13 What's waiting for Sugar is a nightmare in Marabh. How do you solve that wrestling problem, Chail? Yeah, that is an interesting one. And we don't end up in this spot very often where we have the number one contender identified before the title match takes place. And and then just over the weekend, we see Narmagomedov, who's a perfect monster. Yeah, whatever that is, he's calling out Sandhagan, who's deserved the title shot for two years
Starting point is 00:44:41 now and just hasn't gotten one like that division's a mess and One thing about this sport is we fiercely adhere to whatever rules we make up as we go Like let me just give you guys a scenario Okay, Marab's gonna fight the winner of Cheeto versus Sean now one thing that is not considered when that statement is made is that Cheeto Upset Sean yes, it would be very similar to give you an analogy But when Izzy was getting ready to fight Sean Strickland, he's gonna fight Duplis Enix. Well, that's unless Strickland beats them, then they wanted to rematch. So I'm just saying like it's one of those things you don't know and then if you don't want to fight Marabu,
Starting point is 00:45:17 you think he's a bad matchup. Imagine that I'm Sugar Sean O'Malley. I go have a great performance. I've got the microphone. There's the guy in the front row that everybody thinks I'm gonna call for We're gonna do an organic face-off. I turn and point to him. I said man. This guy is like a brother to me I love him. I've never brought this public before this one of my best friends in the whole world I'm not gonna put you on the spot, but you Corey sandhagen right down the barrel of the camera All of a sudden Rob is on third base wearing a catcher's mitt That's a good way. That's that's smart. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:45:47 You got to there's you got to be a smart guy to do it. But I mean, I'm just sharing for you. You don't have to play along with the script. No, you flip the narrative. Something tells me O'Malley's not going to play along. I don't think he's going to play along. Really, he wasn't even entertaining the Rob until he saw kind of the backlash online.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Because remember, he called out Topiria. He was calling out Topiria after and he was like, that's the next big fight. That scares me the most and fans are like, no, bro, Marabh just destroyed Sohuto. And he's like, all right, I guess fans want to see that. So I wouldn't be surprised if Sugar flips the script to your point and calls that Topiria or something like that. So, so, so when it comes to, if you look at someone like Marabh's wrestling, okay, which is MMA wrestling, it's Russian, it's Sambho, it's Greco, it's freestyle, if you look at someone like Marab's wrestling, okay, which is MMA wrestling,
Starting point is 00:46:25 it's Russian, it's Sambho, it's Greco, it's freestyle, it's got this kind of whatever he's doing up there. I feel like, and I'm just gonna say, I'm gonna say, make a statement and I want you to tell me if I'm right or not. I feel like the reason guys like that, like for example, if you watch the way Khabib, what he did to Justin Gaichi. You know, when you look at a guy who's been doing that Russian system and he comes across a guy who's been a folk wrestler or just a freestyle guy, you're getting looks, you're getting looks you've never seen before. So someone like Marabh is doing things
Starting point is 00:46:57 that you've not trained against and you've not prepared for. And I feel like sometimes you've been speaking French and a guy comes at you speaking Chinese and now you have no idea what the hell's going on and you're on your back and you keep staying on your back. How do you prepare for someone like Marab? Do you just bring in as many Dagestanese as you can, as many Russians as you can so you get those looks?
Starting point is 00:47:18 I think Connor did that with Khabib, did actually pretty well for a while, kept him from keeping his, putting his hands together. So how do you prepare for something like that? Those real greats that have found a way to weaponize pace. Like, I mean, Randy Gattur was the first one to do it in our sport. And then that got Pat George St. Pierre started to do it.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Maybe you'd even bring Ushman, but guys that will just throw more shots at the board than anyone else, that's what Marab does. Like before you get to who's better boxing who's better Jiu Jitsu You got to keep him off of you. You've got to have a little bit of space. There's no time to set anything up There's no timing. Can't do that. He'd put his head in your chest and just keep moving. He did he was 100% Crazy. Yes. No, what would they call him like cardio K? Or you can even break it down. You had to first deal with this intangible.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I mean, that was the hoodos big problem going in with Marabh. It's not necessarily who is a better wrestler. He's going to throw five times the wrestling at you. How are you going to deal with it? And I mean, I just support what you're saying. Like that's a really hard guy to plan for. If you don't have a great wrestling base as well as a great cardio base. I mean, it's a mess.
Starting point is 00:48:23 It doesn't point. It's the pace. I think it's the pace. it's not that they're doing anything they haven't seen Relentless non-stop I didn't realize that here here here and then you're defending this that he's over here They've seen it before no one's doing any wrestling move. No one's ever really no okay These guys seen it all wow, but it's just the relentless pursuit one after the other eventually. There's like cheese Oh, my oh, Mali if oh Mali has a very good shot against Marabh though seen at all. Wow. But it's just the relentless pursuit. One after the other, eventually there's like, geez. Oh, O'Malley, if O'Malley has a very good shot against Marabh though, because Marabh,
Starting point is 00:48:50 I don't think is the striker, that he is the wrestler. I think Marabh's striking will, I think O'Malley could knock him out if he tried to stand and bang with him. The guy who has the striking, who has the striking is Umar Nirmangaminov. He's got that striking. He's got, he's got crazy striking.
Starting point is 00:49:09 He, he is a combination of Jose Aldo and the Otomachita. If you look at him, he's got a question. Yeah, I'm saying it. I remember, remember I said this. I'm going to say this right now. Umar Nirmangaminov. And his brother who's not there. Umar Nirmangaminov's striking is as good as anybody in the UFC right now.
Starting point is 00:49:27 He does it all. He doesn't get hit. Watch him fight. He doesn't get hit. He's got the boxing. He's got the kicking. And he's going to tip you, question mark kick you, low kick you, wrestle you. He's got the best.
Starting point is 00:49:42 His wrestling is as good as anybody's. He's got world-class wrestling. It crazy that's what I'm saying that's what I'm seeing that's a huge compliment I'm a dick writer I'm a dick writer on him and his brother I also think he's very good he's ranked number 13 right now so his game like he's 16 and oh and ranked number 13 his game same as so many other guys is he's got to get up in the loft with some of those bigger-name guys Yeah, we don't know I think calling out sandhagen was a very good point But again, let's just go back to a mallet if I'm all Mali and I win and I've got a rematch one of these guys
Starting point is 00:50:13 All of a sudden you're delaying that rematch a little bit And then I'm gonna come up with the idea that my Rob fight Nermaga met off you guys I love that I love It's very sellable. 100% that is. Is there anybody else on the card that you're excited for, Chail? I mean, Curtis Blades versus Almeida is a good one.
Starting point is 00:50:31 I think there's title implications there, especially if Almeida were to win that one. I think you could see him fight Tommy Aspinol for the intern belt there with what's going on with John and Steepay. Obviously that needs to get done before anything happens. So I think there's big title implications between blades and Almeida. I'm curious about that.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Like when I watch Almeida, he used to come on, he wants to come across taking down with that double. I'd be impressed if he could pick up Curtis blades and take him down for 15 straight minutes. Like that would really impress me. And I feel as though that somebody's put a block on Curtis blades. I mean, stylistically, he really is a nightmare for everybody including John Jones but he's had a really hard time getting his his push. Yeah. I asked about that a few times and somebody told me that he stutters that he doesn't like to do interviews because it embarrasses him because he stutters. I don't know
Starting point is 00:51:20 if that's true or not because I haven't heard him do interview. No I had him on food truck. I had him on food truck and he stuttered, but it's not, you know, and you can tell it, like it's an issue for him, but it's nothing like out of, like you wear, you'd be like, oh, we can't have this guy on camera, like really smart guy, dads a cop, like Chicago born and raised, like there's a story there.
Starting point is 00:51:41 You just gotta tell it. But as far as his stuttering being a reason, you know, not to put him in front of the camera, I don't see it. He was great, great. Yeah. And he's good. I mean, he goes out, whether it's a weird stoppage or not, but he beats Aspenall. I mean, when the end of the night comes, they raised,
Starting point is 00:51:56 they raised his hand. Yeah. He was like 20 seconds, Aspenall threw a couple of kicks. He fell down and he hurt himself. But I mean, I'm just sharing for you. It seems a little weird that Curtis blades is now opening a card Well, ask what I'll sit out there with a belt like sometimes there's guys that just have a hard time getting behind I think that Curtis plays is a tough night out. That's what I'm trying to say I'm trying to compliment Curtis here whether my words are coming out
Starting point is 00:52:19 But I do think that Almeida is maybe next he checks a lot of boxes. He's a handsome guy. Appears to be courageous. He's the next Brazilian that they're getting behind and pushing. I think it's a very meaningful matchup for rankings. Agree. Agree. That's the does the kind of the biggest one on that undercard there. But is there a fight that you want to see? Is there a fight that really gets you going that you just you're you're if you could,
Starting point is 00:52:42 if you could do a dream matchup, do you have one in your head? Well, I fell for everything at UFC 300 like this huge announcement that was coming I got pulled in oh my god George St. Pierre's coming out of retirement and he's gonna take on Khabib like I was falling for these things or you made a video of it too every video you like UFC 300 big announcement every week. I'm here. This was talking about, you know, he's he's training with could be but could be never trains with him unless he's got
Starting point is 00:53:11 to fight kind of like this. These things I was paying very close attention to. I do like the idea. Uh, you know, I like the idea of of Chimaya of Chimaya coming in, um, in in in a meaningful match, whether that was against Riki or that was against Strickland. But some of those top guys, I like to see Chamiah stay a little bit more busy. There's rumors that he can't get around in the visa issues.
Starting point is 00:53:34 Those haven't been confirmed, but they appear to be true. It's a good time to be a fight fan, Brian. I kind of danced around your question there just because I've been there's a lot. I've been seeing so many great fights. But yeah, right now for the ones that are signed right now The biggest one is for me is gaichi versus hallway. Oh really? They see that that doesn't interest me chill it makes no sense to me no cuz max hallway to a period That's the move in spain. Yes, but now they hurry to make the match about 300 like
Starting point is 00:54:04 BMF title. Let's be honest, it doesn't mean much. The winner of that fight, it doesn't nobody move. You go nowhere. So now if Max Hallway suffers damage from Gachie, which is more than likely to happen. OK, well, he's not fighting to appear anytime soon. So that fights out the window. Justin Beats a 145er. OK.
Starting point is 00:54:23 You know, I just don't see it's I think it's exciting for the fans, but it just, it doesn't move the guys anywhere to me. And if you were speaking of 145, a hard question would be, what do you do with Volk? What do you predict? What are they going to do with Volk? I think he needs to rest now. Does now I'm on the, on the fence of, you know, he's a legend, maybe the greatest
Starting point is 00:54:44 of all time, he's a legend, maybe the greatest of all time. He deserves immediate rematch. The problem is if Topir is ready to go and say four or five months, that's not enough time for me. I think Volk needs to rest after two knockouts, let him rest and then come back when he's ready to go. So at, yeah, 45 stuff and with Topir, it's tough, especially they want to do it in Spain, you need a big name, you know.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Also, Chail, there is that, that thing where you're, you're at one 45 speed really does play a much bigger factor reaction time than it does say at heavyweight. You can, you have a longer career at heavyweight and some would argue. Um, he's 35 years old. He's done incredible, incredible things in that cage. And you wonder at times if after getting knocked out twice, you gotta take a long time.
Starting point is 00:55:35 You gotta take a long time to really ask yourself whether or not you believe truly in your heart that you're still able to get that belt back. And if you look at the history of that weight division and you look at people 35 and over, that's a tall order. If anybody can do it, it's Volkanovsky, he can do kind of the impossible. So I'm never gonna bet against him.
Starting point is 00:55:56 I didn't bet against him against Aporia. He's earned the rematch though. Of course he's earned the rematch, 100%. But to your point, I would love to see him take a long time because I do think you risk when you get knocked out now, you know taking the risk to get knocked again There is that glass jaw thing where your brain shuts off, you know Where you you wouldn't get knocked out normally, but your brain goes to been here before I'm out I don't want to do this anymore, and I think that's I don't think it's worth it
Starting point is 00:56:20 I think it's where he's earned the right to take a long time off jail Are you working the UFC desk this weekend in Miami? Yes, I'll be there. I'm leaving in leaving in two days. I'm excited for it I mean, I think there's something there where with O'Malley follows attention, man. And he's telling me about how he discovered a real life Twin Peaks in rural North Carolina, not far from where he filmed Blue Velvet. What was on the plane was copious amounts of drugs coming in from South America. Supposedly Pablo Escobar went looking for other spots quiet, out of the way places to bring in his cocaine.
Starting point is 01:01:47 for other spots quiet, out of the way places to bring in his cocaine. My name is Joshua Davis and I'm an investigative reporter. Kyle and I talk all the time about the strange things we come across, but nothing was quite as strange as what we found in Varnum Town, North Carolina. There's crooked cops, brother against brother.
