Starting point is 00:00:00 Yes, we did. Cause we back at it again. It's the fighter and the kid. This is really the fighter and the kid. Come on, baby. We're back with the great Mike Catherwood. Yeah, buddy. Brian Callan still playing grab ass.
Starting point is 00:00:13 That's how it goes, man. You're much more handsome than he is and a better speaker. I will not openly accept the second one. I will. Yeah, come on. Brian is a beautiful man. And by the way, no. It's his hair. Also shirt off Brian is uniformly impressive.
Starting point is 00:00:33 For a 58, not bad. And who doesn't really train that much and eats, he likes to talk about, and then I do, I'm not crazy. Brian can eat whatever he wants. He's one of those guys. And he uniformly looks pretty damn good. Just thin, yeah. But pound for pound. I'm taking him in the hotty-con not even His hair is a fucking disaster. I don't want to I don't want to impose because this is your show now
Starting point is 00:00:56 I'm gonna take you by the reins I wanted to talk to you about because we discussed John Jones at a pretty great length last time I tell my liver King. No, I mean, really time. Oh, are you talking about liver King? No. Oh really? I'd love to talk to you about liver King. I just, the more I thought about the John Jones situation and then subsequently started researching it a little bit,
Starting point is 00:01:13 a lot of it too, much props to comment, people who put comments on the fighter and the kid. About John? And, and What was the overall consensus there? Cause there's, there's defenders and then there's Yeah. And that's going to go back and forth. But, but the overall consensus there? Cause there's, there's defenders and then there's, yeah. That's going to go back and forth.
Starting point is 00:01:26 But, but people said stuff that made me go like, oh yeah. And then I'd look into it. This whole there's all I'll say, I don't know shit about shit. There's way more to this retirement and situation and most recent kind of trouble with the law than we know there's what there has to be with the retirement. That's why I say he's going to fight again because the re he wouldn't, he wouldn't have listened,
Starting point is 00:01:47 say what you want about John being a bad guy and all the disasters he's had in his career. Still the greatest of all time. The whole notion that he's scared of Tom is ridiculous, but it's fun to run with and he's a duck. I get all that. And I, I can see how you come to that conclusion. But. At the end of the day, this, this whole issue with the, with the, you know, hitting a car and the girl and all that shit that put all this on hold. I don't think he would have dragged the UFC out, Tom Aspinall out, and then not fight.
Starting point is 00:02:20 I mean, I think this is the sole reason he's like, oh shit, we saw this in a more direct way with Daniel Cormier Okay, like what they went through their rivalry never it would not have taken as long or gone through the the delays or it Weren't for what we're not talking injury. We're not that we're talking about off outside of the cage Incidents in his personal life that that prolonged and and I absolutely think there's a huge factor with with Mr. Aspinall. What I will ask and you're, I'm very fortunate to have someone who really has some insight into this. I don't think for one second,
Starting point is 00:02:53 John Jones is scared physically of Tom Aspinall. That's so stupid. But is it fair to say he might be very scared of, Tom Aspinall is fucking sick. Tom Aspinall is a great fighter and he's, and he's a dangerous dude. Is he scared? For the coverage we've seen so far. Right. Well, we've seen him because he hasn't,
Starting point is 00:03:10 his fights are not very long. Buddy, 10 minutes, stolen the octagon. But, but Tom, but clearly Tom Aspinall is a very high talent heavyweight. From what we've seen so far, yes. Is, is it, is it fair to maybe speculate that John Jones is scared of what a Tom Aspininal fight can do to his legacy?
Starting point is 00:03:27 I don't think John Jones is scared of Tom Aspinal. I don't think John Jones is scared of any man. What I think is, is he potentially scared of, at this point in his career, to go out on, because it'll, by all accounts, probably be his last fight or should be his last fight if he were to come back and do it, that more so than ever, I think that he's staring, if he's a realist, he's staring down the face of a potential loss. I think it's definitely a factor. It's definitely a factor that goes into it. Would we have got the fight sooner or would John have fought sooner if they offered him Alex Piera? Yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Cause he's like, no, that's easy payday with With Tom, I do think that is a factor and that doesn't mean he's scared of him. It just means maybe he wants a little more time. Maybe he wants, with all this, it works to John's benefit where Tom fights twice now before they fight. So Tom's gonna fight an Alex Pieda. He's gonna fight a Francingano. Maybe fight Sarah Gahn. Maybe fight Almeida. So John gets a little more, a little more tape on the guy. Because we don't know much about Tom. I think he's fantastic. I think he's the most well-rounded heavyweight
Starting point is 00:04:30 in the world. I do think he's the best heavyweight in the world. But it's based off what? 15 minutes of fighting, 12 minutes of, yeah. 10 minutes of inside darkon. Not fighting very good competition. Compared to John Jones. What's that dude do what's that?
Starting point is 00:04:47 Guy he just beat Not Volkov Curtis blades. No, they the the Russian fella that he's Sergey Pavlovich Belleges a very high level is anyway Compared to what in this other fight watch him? I'm like that guy could he's good right now the heavy division Compared to what? In this other fight, I'm watching him. I'm like, that guy could, he's good right now. The heavyweight division, so Pavlovich, if you go 10 years ago, not a top 10 guy, maybe not even top 15. Now for the current being in the, it's so thin there,
Starting point is 00:05:17 you know, he's ranked top five, but again, man, again, what sucks is Tom was born the year he was born. Cause if Tom was born, you was born five, 10 years earlier, he's in the heyday of heavyweights and he's competing with the best. It just so happens that his number one guy that he needs to take the throne from is at the tail end of his career.
Starting point is 00:05:37 He has all these legal issues. So in order for Tom to get that respect that he needs to be the top dog, he's dealing with this shit show. It's not Tom's fault. And Tom's literally like, dude, I want to fight. I want to fight as often as I can. I genuinely feel bad for the guy.
Starting point is 00:05:50 It's not his fault. Yeah, it's not his fault. Two years in your prime of just kind of like not knowing. I feel so bad for that spot. I feel bad for him. It's not his fault. But also, you also waited for John. So you know John's fucking batshit crazy.
Starting point is 00:06:04 And we saw what happen with Chandler. He's basically Michael Chandler of the heavyweight division. Both, hey buddy, if you make a living fighting, this guy's a wild card. Connor's a wild card. Literally, you're talking about the two craziest fucking outliers in the sport, Connor and John Jones, and you're banking on those fucking guys?
Starting point is 00:06:21 Wait a second though, wait. Fight dude, fight. I don't think you can compare him with Michael Chandler. There's obvious similarities, but I think the situation for Tom Asimov was far worse because he was the sitting interim champion the whole time. And the other guy who was potentially, the guy who was controversially looked at
Starting point is 00:06:39 as another champion made him wait. Because Michael Chandler is like, I'm gonna wait because this would be a huge money fight. I'm not going to be fighting for a bad night. Right. It's I, so you kind of totally understand that. And I still feel bad for Chandler, but I understand where you, Tom Aspinall was painted in such a tremendous corner being the interim title holder.
Starting point is 00:06:58 They can still fight. You could, no, no, no, no, but, but, but hear me out that it does make the stakes for him. And also the, the, the, the circumstances were a lot more dire for a man who he's like, okay, I have the belt. I've pretty much fucked up everybody else. The one guy who it makes sense for me to fight is the only guy that is making me wait a little bit.
Starting point is 00:07:19 But now you've waited how long and then let's say the UFC doesn't give you Alex Peter or Francis. They don't, say the UFC doesn't give you Alex, Peter, or Francis, they don't, those that doesn't come fruition. Now you're fighting the same guys you would have fought sitting on the bench. Absolutely. I'll meet up. You know, you're going to fight Sarah gone. You're in the same exact situation. You've just, just lost a year in your prime.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Here's one thing though. I wanted to talk about where I think like, this is what leads me to believe so strongly that we have no idea what's really going on. Arguably the Michael Jordan of MMA, John Jones, gets his retirement announced on a fight night in the middle of a press conference. It wasn't, he didn't open the press conference Dana going, guys I have something to tell you. I, he, he wasn't going to say something. Someone asked him a question and in the middle of this very poorly watched fight night press conference, Dana goes like,
Starting point is 00:08:08 actually I found out today John Jones is retiring. I think that just goes- What's up with that? I think that it, everyone's like, oh Dana knew this was coming, this is bullshit. He, I would be willing, I know Dana's lied to us before. I'd be willing to bet the fight, they both agreed to it. This pops up and then they're like fuck dude
Starting point is 00:08:25 Like Dana thought this fight was gonna happen and then when all this shit comes out John's like fuck it. I'm out It's the best thing to do is not keep making Tom wait. I got to deal with this I'm gonna retire let Tom do his thing and I'll circle back around. Okay, so don't you mean is like Jesus? I believe I think you're right. I think that's exactly what Dana had much warning and I do think he's being honest with us. Okay, why then, when arguably the greatest fighter that's ever walked the planet of the earth, why is that not an immediate break into news story sports center?
Starting point is 00:08:56 Ding, ding, ding, ding. Should be on the SPS. Why did that, why did we get in the middle of the press conference provoked by the question about John Jones. That's when Dana decided to go, Oh yeah, by the way, we're not talking about some guy who's kind of on people's radars. If you're a really passionate fan, we're talking about arguably goat pound for pound. The guy who is the fucking man is calling it quits.
Starting point is 00:09:23 How did that not become? I think if this is 10 years ago and Dana's fully, I think Dana's one foot in, one foot out of the UFC. He's not really the man behind the scenes making the fights, doing all that. You know, he has shareholders, he has Endeavor, he has TKO, and then he's also getting ready to promote, arguably one of the biggest fights in boxing history.
Starting point is 00:09:44 So he's kinda in that world, so he's also getting ready to promote arguably one of the biggest fights in boxing history. So he's kind of in that world. So he's dealing with all that. If this is eight years ago before all this, and he was the still the front man of the company, you would have got it breaking news. He, he would have released it to ESPN. He wouldn't have really said a press conference. You would have got it from his mouth on his Twitter. That's what he usually does.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I just think he's kind of like, oh, here we go, John. This comes, I agree in that regard too, that- It's not a bad thing. The guy's made all the fucking money in the world. He can do what he wants. I do feel like it's kind of a bad thing. No, no, no, okay. Cry me a river.
Starting point is 00:10:15 He's like, you said his life is made, and he has his like, Dana's legacy, whether you like the man or not, Dana's legacy is huge. And it should be well recognized. But I do feel like the last two or three years has been a bit torturous for him because he did put fighting first
Starting point is 00:10:35 when it was Dana Wright in charge with the Fritidas. Since the Endeavor kind of takeover, you can see like he's kind of painted into a corner where there's like four or five things that come before Putting on quality slap. It was slap fight was his baby for a long time that kind of went away now It's this TKO with boxing and that I'll sheik in the fucking Middle East, you know, that's just I get it, dude Yeah, I get it you get busy and then that thing give you your platform He's made all the money and not that he's not still passionate about it,
Starting point is 00:11:07 but he's like, I've kind of done it, man. Yeah. He's like, this new boxing endeavors pretty cool. I'm supposed to promote Canelo and Terrence Crawford. Like I'm going to focus on that, man. I get it. And people are like, oh, this is bullshit. But nah, man, it's like me.
Starting point is 00:11:22 It's like, you know, like podcasting is my platform, that's my baby, that's what pays the bills, you know, to some degree, but I have a lot of other interests man, and I'm getting older, I like to do other shit. And people are like, oh now you're into trucks? Yeah dude, yeah that's what I want to fucking do. I'm 42, I do what the fuck I want.
Starting point is 00:11:40 By the way, and again I took some plaque and everything, but I stuck up for this man. I don't, it's America. If you want to criticize Mr. Schaub or whatever comedian or podcast, it's your business. But I get pissy when it's totally baseless and I go, and I know the real truth. And I went on a rant about people talking
Starting point is 00:12:02 about your lack of self-awareness. I go, that's not true. If you want to criticize Brandon, that's your business. Can't, don't talk about lack of self-awareness. I go, that's not true. If you want to criticize Brendan, that's your business. Don't talk about lack of self-awareness. I know the reality. Here's another thing. If you're going to be like, oh, you're into trucks now, shut up.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Brendan is the biggest fucking car geek to an annoying extent and has been since 2004, since I ever met you. It's just, I have the freedom where everything's kind of at cruise control and I can do that. Like, this is good. I can go over there, man. I can do whatever the fuck I want. I do think it's weird, and I think we're going to see a lot more of this because of brain
Starting point is 00:12:38 trauma and stuff like that, and just people are fucking crazy and social media gives us that, opens that fucking window now. So you have John Jones, like Jesus Christ, you have BJ Penn drama going on and they have liver King. Have you ever met liver King? I have not. So he came on our show. This is before all the PD shit came out to me.
Starting point is 00:12:58 I was like, wait, hold on. Everyone's surprised. He's on fucking gear. Yeah. Are you serious? Oh, I have ocean front property in Nebraska to sell you. Are you fucking, really? This is an actual thing?
Starting point is 00:13:11 And so when it came out, I couldn't believe the amount of shitty God, whatever. So when I met him, he was a great dad, super humble, super nice, I enjoyed his company. Then he gets busted, calls me, he's freaking out. He said, I come on fire the kid. I'm like, this isn't the platform. I like you too much. I'm not gonna hold your feet to the fire.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Andrew Schultz is your guy. His show's way bigger than mine. To reach the masses, I'll connect you with Andrew. He flies Andrew literally the next day on a private jet, does flagrant, and Andrew does hold his feet to the fire, but is also given the benefit of the doubt. He's the perfect guy for the job. Andrew's one of the best, right?
Starting point is 00:13:50 And then, you know, being him of text back and forth, I always support him. I know he's going through a tough time. And then in his doc, you know, he features fire in the kid, which is great. I think it's like third time we're on Netflix, not a big deal. And then he starts going bad on Rogan.
Starting point is 00:14:06 And I'm looking at the videos and the alarming thing is, you know, as a content creator, he's shooting it, he used to have a staff, like I don't know how many fucking people, 12 when he came, like a staff dude with those high end Sony red cameras, like not my bullshit, like I'm talking high production. But then he's going through this manic episode and notice it's all shot on his cell phone.
Starting point is 00:14:33 It's all him and I went, oh, he's lost the crew. Like what's going on there? And then he starts threatening Rogue and stuff like that. I'm like, well now, bud, now you're kicked out of the club. I can't support this. And then my first initial reaction is, what the fuck is he doing? And then it's like, is he clout chasing?
Starting point is 00:14:52 Like going for Rogan, who's never done anything to him? Like Rogan's not your enemy, dude. And then, so I'm like, God, this is so lame. But then take that out of him, and I see it, I'm a dad too, I look at him and go, oh, he's a dad, dude. Imagine his kids right now. That's your dad. I can't.
Starting point is 00:15:09 With a blue fucking mouth, one fucking pupil's bigger than the other, he has a fucking dead wolf on top of his head, and he's like, I'm coming to Austin, I'm gonna fight Joe Rogan, I'm defending my family. It's like, what the fuck are you even talking about? He's a crazy guy. When has Rogan called out your family?
Starting point is 00:15:26 And then his wife's there now, the theory could be, his wife might, you know, the kids are fine, I'm sure they're somewhere safe, thank God. I think his wife, who's a smart lady, who's been with him forever, is like, I'll go with you, and it's in order, because if you did an intervention and got him treatment, he's the liver king, he's gonna freak the fuck out and eat everybody's liver so maybe she's slowly you know push him towards
Starting point is 00:15:50 getting some help that's what i hope now he got arrested last night he's just spent he spent the night in jail what are the what are the charges what's being batshit crazy I mean people's liver he just literally freaked out I think it's a terrorist attack, like threats, because he's like, I'm going to fight Joe Rogan. And then he films himself step by step coming to Austin to do harm to somebody. I think that's illegal. And also.
Starting point is 00:16:15 But has he broken the law? Because he never said he was going to kill him. He said he wants to fight him. No, but he's coming to where he's clearly making an effort and announcing that he's coming all the way over to cause physical harm. Is that illegal? I don't, I look, I'm not a lawyer, but that doesn't seem like that.
Starting point is 00:16:34 But you get arrested for that? Like, I want to know, like, cause he clearly in his videos and I've stayed there a million times, he's at the Four Seasons downtown. That's where he got arrested at. That's crazy. That you have to be a rapper usually. He's at the four seasons downtown. Yeah. That's where you got arrested at. That's crazy. That you have to be a rapper usually to get arrested at the four seasons. Yeah. Four season pretty Lucy goosey. It's like, um, I, I, I don't know. I, I would love someone who's an expert in the field, like a doc, uh, an attorney or a cop, but I think Lex is here. Lex is an attorney by trade. No, you know, you're an attorney. Okay. So you know. Let's take a little break because listen, UFC 317 is here.

I mean, it's, I told Brendan this, uh, yesterday it's terrorist threats, which is illegal. I mean, you're communicating that you're going to do harm, but it was more than that. It was that he then took action to execute that plan. Right. So him cataloging that he's coming all the way to Austin and he's, you know, Hey, I'm here. I'm looking for
Starting point is 00:19:41 Joe Rogan at that point. That's illegal. Yeah. Oh yeah, bro. Yeah. Cause he didn't, he, Hey, I'm here. I'm looking for Joe Rogan at that point. That's illegal. Yeah. Oh yeah, bro. Yeah. Cause he didn't, he, I, it's not like, Oh, you know, he, he's just, you know, exercising his free speech. He's, he's articulating that he is going to cause harm to somebody improving and then taking steps to do it. Right. That mentioned, imagine if he wasn't a celebrity there and Joe wasn't a
Starting point is 00:20:02 celebrity, right? They're just two dudes and some guy is on video. You have your family, you're chilling at your house and some guys on a video saying, I'm flying to where you live because we're going to fight. You would call the cops and I think understandably that man would be dealt with, you know, like he's before he gets a, he didn't say I'm going to go and I'm not even going to use the terminology and cause potentially lethal harm or anything like that, which is in bananas. But he did say his whole purpose into flying to Austin
Starting point is 00:20:31 and finding out where this man lives, where he's with his family, is he's going to come there and get into an altercation. That's crazy. Now let's say that there's a world where Joe doesn't have the highest security special forces surround him at all times. Let's say there's a world where the liver King was able to get to Joe Rogan and Joe was Joe would take them out. That's not really a fair liver King can't fight. No, I know he looks like he's, he's tiny.
Starting point is 00:21:04 First of all, so I's seen Joe's kicks. That's the only thing coming to my mind is one of those wheel kicks he was showing or one of those spinning kicks that he was showing GSP on the bag. If that hits your solar plexus. He doesn't even do that. He's a black belt in jujitsu. But my whole thing is like, this how you know he's not thinking correctly. It's like, let's say you pull off what you think you're gonna do and get access to Rogan,
Starting point is 00:21:27 which is never happening. But let's say you're able to get through the fucking wall of special forces security that he has, jump the gate that he has, get through the security, get through all the bullshit, the guns, the dog. Good fucking luck. But let's say he has a special set of skills and he does that.
Starting point is 00:21:44 And then you get face to face with a guy who's trained in fucking taekwondo, he's a black belt, competition black belt in taekwondo, knocked out a million fucking dudes, not to mention he's a black belt in jiu jitsu. Again, buddy, this how you know he's not think clear. You can't fight. I know you think you're tough, but there's levels to that. And he might be a tough guy. There's a lot of tough guys.
Starting point is 00:22:09 And I know he walks barefoot and takes shits laying down and does enemas and he's tough in his world. There's levels to toughness, dude. And if your goal is to get attention by fighting Rogan and to go viral, you go viral. But you can go viral from getting beat the fuck up. Yeah, and how is that superior to where you're at right now? Going through all that and probably having it being
Starting point is 00:22:34 on video of Joe massacring you. And how is that an up, how is there an upside? I don't get any, and your kids are like, Jesus Christ, Dad. But also, this is how you know like money doesn't buy happiness. Jen, look up his net worth. Do you know how much liver King's worth, bud? It's considerable, isn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:51 It's science fiction money, right? It's stupid. Yeah. It's fucking. Yeah. How do we know this is true though? Cause I like some parts of the internet say I have like $50 million, you know, like we didn't, it doesn't say I have 50, but. He made his money off like dentists. He had like a franchise for dentists that he sold and then, um, not the arrest. How look up his note. That's it.
Starting point is 00:23:11 This is not worth. Look at that. By the way, it's, it's, I'm, I'm, I'm, I would go as far to say that I'm a little dysfunctional and how much I love muscles and you know being a beast He he he looks fucking peculiar. He is such a Odd-looking man with his tan and his implant in his leg. It's also peculiar So according his net worth will be closer to 10 million either way like that's pretty comfortable Ten million dollars. I wouldn't mind much money.
Starting point is 00:23:46 But I guess like when we were talking about, like, especially in the same conversation as a Mr. Rogan, like Rogan's like fucking Dr. Evil money, like, whoa, what? Damn. That's what we heard before. Remember that 300, but finance to estimate his assets to be close to 12 million. Either way, he ain't struggling.
Starting point is 00:24:09 No, you're talking tens of millions of dollars, but it just shows you, you know, it has to be a manic episode. It just, it's not good. And it doesn't end well. This doesn't end well. When he first came clean and it was a big, especially in like the bodybuilding fitness world,
Starting point is 00:24:25 it was a big deal. And I was talking about it extensively on my podcast because I said, I don't want to talk about this. I'm going to talk about this to hammer home how much I think it's a pro. The biggest problem here is that we are making this a conversation. The guy who was cartoon, like comic book character Jacked at 50 is lying about being on steroids.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Welcome to fucking every gym in the world. Like he's a, okay, he's full, he was lying to make money. He was selling his products. You could, my nine primal tenants or whatever it is, you can have the same thing if you do them. See, that's where he fucked up. If he would, it just doesn't make sense to me because if you would have came out said yeah I'm on gear because his tenants are great things to live by absolutely you get healthy and I would recommend all young men that are
Starting point is 00:25:13 Interested in all that shit. Yeah, so but it's like you can still sell supplements fucking bodybuilder sells Billions, it's a billion dollar industry selling supplements clearly. They're on gear Yeah, any guy you see the Rock is on fucking all the gear. But people buy Under Armour, and if he had supplements, he would fucking crush it. If he just came out and was like, yeah, I'm on stuff because I'm 50, but I'm super healthy. Like this is the stuff that I live by, you too can do this.
Starting point is 00:25:40 Then there's no issues. Now, maybe he doesn't make $100 million, but maybe you make fucking 10 million, you're still crushing it. And it's sustainable. Yes. You know, that's no issues. Now, maybe he doesn't make $100 million, but maybe you make fucking 10 million and you're still crushing it. And it's sustainable. Yes. That's the thing. Yes, you're not lying to your fan base.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I don't. And there's certain levels. But also, did anyone look at him and go, that's what I want to look like? That's my question. Because like I said, I'm obsessive about Jacked and leanness. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Being a hot tan Jack dude. I don't see that and go like, whoa, awesome. I go, well, that's very strange looking. Yeah, it's just, it's uncomfortable. Yeah. Like his whole stomach, all that. I'm like, I don't know what's going on there and his belly button's a disaster.
Starting point is 00:26:20 That being said, and everything I support fully, that being said, there is a handful of fitness influencers out there that do the natty thing, like that are totally natural and people give them shit. Like as much as I want to say kids out there, when you're seeing a 50 year old guy and he's huge. Or he's on TV. Yeah, and he's huge and lean.
Starting point is 00:26:43 You don't do both, especially maybe when you're 19, sure. Yeah. But if you're the rock, the rock, it's like, this isn't debatable. Okay. That, that being said, there's people that are out there lying. I do want to make the point. There's plenty of people who have amazing physiques and perform amazing levels of, uh, physical, uh, that are, that are natural and that claim
Starting point is 00:27:04 to be natural and they get a lot of shit. I have to always mention this. I got in trouble. I didn't get in trouble. I actually just, it was more of a, I felt bad for the guys and I went on and over and over again, apologize. The mind pump guys, someone, I went on mind pump with Dr. Drew. They're awesome. They're all awesome. And I didn't say it as like, well, yeah, but they're, it's that from my culture, from my, the way of life that I've had all my, being around people who are jacked, we all used gear and we were all open about it. I assume everyone's on.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Right. So they, someone else asked me on an unrelated podcast or a radio show or something, but those mind pump guys are on juice, right? And I go like, yeah, probably. Yeah, I don't give a fuck. And it was very dismissive. They made a big point to show they're very natural
Starting point is 00:27:52 and that they encourage, and so I was like, oh, I'm sorry, and absolutely all the stuff you've done is totally achievable and I believe you, and it's my bad that I shouldn't have been there. Yeah, bro, first rule of steroid club, don't tell other people these guys aren't steroids. Yeah. Clearly they are.
Starting point is 00:28:06 No, I was kind of a snitch ass bitch. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But again, I didn't say it in a way to go. Now maybe, their physiques aren't crazy, they might not be lying. Sal, I think is like pretty close to our age, and like he's pretty. Which one, Sal?
Starting point is 00:28:18 The far left. I know guys that aren't on care. My boy Bobby Maximus is clean and he looks impossible. Have you ever met my friend Joe Klopfenstein? I have not. He doesn't touch anything. Yeah. And he's jack city.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Eats like Dunkin' Donuts every morning. Well, the craziest is, yeah. And I know you know this man, Mike Cephies, the craziest. Yes. Cause you can see him literally drug tested competition, IFBB natural. He is getting blood tests all the way up to the competition and impossible physique. Not freakish though. No, but beautiful. He's the, Mike's FV is the number one guy that I look at him and I go, I wish one day that guy on the right is six, six, 260 pounds at 6% body fat at all times.
Starting point is 00:29:09 No matter what he eats, there's people. Okay. Tim Tebow. Same, same one. Like he was fucking shot. People, they go straight to like Gronkowski's of the world. People grossly underestimate high level athletes. How fucking freakish, like a like quarterbacks, kickers, uh, middleweights. And people always go to the extreme. They always like, I'm gonna, can you imagine what I was like? Yeah, but you have no idea. I watched like guys like Tim Tebow is a perfect example. If you saw Tim Tebow in the gym, people would get their mind
Starting point is 00:29:40 fucking blown. It's wild. Like there a difference between people who were touched by God and people who weren't. And genetically gifted, and that's why people are like, oh, he's on shit, and it makes them feel better. Yeah. The only reason he's that big is he's on shit, okay. That's, okay, thank you for saying that. Here's another thing, and I don't want to be
Starting point is 00:29:56 kind of sending fucking pricking, but the internet culture of like, Natty or not, bothers me a lot for this reason. Not because people should be honest. People should be honest. I've been taking TRT for a couple of years. I used to really roid out and when I was in my early 20s, there's zero shame. So fun.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Okay. Yeah. Um, but the, the, the, the natty or not world does this and it makes me very angry. There's the guys who would go like, yeah, but he's on gear. That's why he looks like that. If I used as much gear as him, I would go like, yeah, but he's on gear, that's why he looks like that. If I used as much gear as him, I would look like him. And I go, no you wouldn't. It's the same argument with Barry Bonds.
Starting point is 00:30:32 I'll tell you what, I'll give you double the dose what he was on, trying to hit a home run. Let me know how it goes for you. And by the way, like even I posted a video. Powering home runs off of the best pitchers in the world. At a much more difficult time to hit home runs, different pitchers, he's a fucking savage. But like I posted a video doing 225, where it was like 30 something times 33.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Impossible. And then Will Compton was like, dude, how much gear are you running? I was like, I'm not running gear, I'm on TRT and peptides. But I was like, but I would beat you at 225, whether it's now at 17, at 16. Like this might give guys, and I love Will, I'm not calling Will out, but I'm just saying like,
Starting point is 00:31:15 it's a thing like, oh my God, how much do you care you run, buddy, when I was 14, I was beating you at 225. Here's another, like, because you're visually so big and muscular and also we're a professional athlete. So people might honor hear things like that and they just kind of separate themselves. I'm very jacked for 175 pound guy. I'm a very muscular in shape person and I take it very seriously.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Right. And so a lot of times I will go with guys around my size in jujitsu, in grappling sports, you get to, like, you get to express strength a lot more than in striking sports. And so I could feel like I can overpower certain people around my, around my size. It's very common. And at Gracie, these dudes came to visit. They were judo fighters by trade. They were high level. I mean, I believe some of them were,
Starting point is 00:32:09 because there's a jacked Asian dude that trains there. Who's a- Ishi? Ishi? I don't know. Chen? He's a judo fighter by, and like well- MMA fighter too?
Starting point is 00:32:20 He does fight MMA now currently. Probably Ishi. Asian and Jack. Jack, shaved head. And he came, he brought these other dudes and they were Russian. But he's a gold medalist. So yeah, like I said, I knew in Judo, because I believe Tim actually, Satoshi, Satoshi, yes.
Starting point is 00:32:35 Satoshi, that's my boy. I trained with him for years. He brought in some dudes from the Judo world that were Russian guys. And one guy was my size, maybe a smaller and a fat, like looked like a fat pile of shit. They, but he looked, he became Velasquez body, but shrunken. Right. So I'm well, and I'm very wary because he's a high level judo guy. So if we were in standup, I would, I don't care what his physique looked like. I'd be like concerned. He's going
Starting point is 00:32:59 to foot bone for a ride. Yeah. But we were, he, we started from our, from our knees and I kind of was hand fighting and he leaned back and got in guard. And this is in ghee. I'm in his guard and he grabbed my lapel. His arms looked like shit. Like I mean, you know, hot belly, Harry potbelly and shit grip. And I know not only my, could I not break it? I got physically scared inside because he grabbed my lapel and just went like this and
Starting point is 00:33:24 I'm like, Oh my, what the fuck is happening right now? Like, so there's people, a, from their lifestyle, you know, a lot of like construction workers with grip strength and stuff, you can't even compare. And then also there's people who just like, they like, you know, as well as anyone, Shane Carwin came out of the gate to be a freak like that. There was never, I don't care what drug you're talking about, Shane Carwin came out of the womb and people were like, oh, what's that?
Starting point is 00:33:48 You know, everyone starts at the same starting line. Yeah. That's life, dude. That's sports, especially at a high level. It's just, we're not all built the same. I want to transition. This is a perfect transition. Great segue from a professional broadcaster
Starting point is 00:33:58 like Mr. Brendan Schaap into something that has been burning me up inside since last night I came across it. As we were talking about, many people with their physical performance and their muscularity are just, they were put on this earth to be better than us, okay? That goes for chicks too. And I don't think, I love like IG girls
Starting point is 00:34:20 who spend all day doing their hip thrusts and they wear nothing but Lululemon. But then there's the hot chicks that God just said, here you go, work with this. And that is what makes all of us men go insane. In the positive direction and in the negative direction. Pete Slauson They're genetically gifted. Jared All Nobel prizes, all guys who hit 50 home runs in a season, all guys who went for 2000 yards in a season, all of this somewhere down the line. If you trace it back, it's all motivated by Puntank. Yes.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Chicks, Trump, all that. And you have no, you could be the most reasonable guy. Tell me how many of these guys, Stephen Hawking comes to mind. They started off their life in Stephen Hawking's like, then by the way,, he has, then by the way, the last 10 years of his life, it was just a collection of Spearman rhino chicks and everything because that's why you do most everything. Come here, candy, sit on my face. Suck my dick.
Starting point is 00:35:16 All of that gets motivated and because you can be one of those girls who clearly works really hard to look amazing and I love you for that. But then there's the, my wife couldn't wrap my head, her head around it, we were talking about actresses and she's like, oh that girl's so beautiful. I'm like, yeah, yeah, I mean she's a hot chick. Yeah, pretty face.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Then I was like, but I'd eat Anna D'Armas' shit. Yeah. You know, like she, and from objective standpoint, you see these girls that are six feet tall with big boobs and the whole thing, and the girls go, guys would look, and I'd be like, no, something, Anna de Armas, God put her on this earth to be a sexy fucking,
Starting point is 00:35:58 it drives me insane, I can't watch Ballerina, I can't get through the fucking movie, it drives me crazy. I was scrolling the internet to all these internet profiles. Look at her. And my wife said, she's very beautiful, clearly, but that's the, and I said, yes. Oh yeah. You can compare her to these other girls that I forgot who she was mentioning, but there's
Starting point is 00:36:19 girl pretty and then there's guys go insane for. And there's no real way to explain that. There's like beautiful pretty, then there's guys go insane for. And there's no real way to explain that. There's like beautiful, pretty, then there's like stunning, hot. You give up your whole life for them. You risk it all. And my belief is the common thread that I've noticed, at least in the girls that I find, it's all over for me when I see her, is that they are the girls that came out of the womb from day one and God was like, you are going to be.
Starting point is 00:36:46 So like Francis and Gano's or Tim Tebow's, they have, they have that in their race, big asses, perfect. And they're, and by the way, you were talking about it. You were talking about with all due respect, you were talking about with your beautiful wife. Can she have tortillas for dinner and wash it down with cheesecake? And she just looked like that's the way it goes.
Starting point is 00:37:04 And then her mom who's living with us, the same thing. I'm like, this is insane. I'm like, do we have to eat carbs every night? And there, I feel like there's something divine about it that they say, the heavens go here. And I feel like that is what's separate. I want to show you a picture. Like going through real quick around my wife's like,
Starting point is 00:37:22 so we go on a walk every night around the neighborhood. I'll go by myself in the mornings. Some people say, what's up? You know, it's me with the dog going around. We went last night with her. How are we doing, Mr. Shaw? I'm like, what the fuck? The fuck?
Starting point is 00:37:36 Hold on. I get it, dog. Everything's different when you're talking about unreasonably sexy women. Some girls are Ferraris. Some girls are fucking Viper ACRs, then some girls are fucking big fat Toyota Corolla. You know, it's a great reliable car
Starting point is 00:37:54 that's going to keep you warm and never shut down, never cheat on you, but you know. By the way. No one's going to look twice at it. Worth mentioning, some of these girls that are Lamborghini, like beautiful vintage Countach where you go like, I can twice at it. Worth mentioning some of these girls that are Lamborghini, like beautiful vintage, Kuntosh, where you go like, I can't believe it. Terrible. You open up the hood and you're like, Oh fuck, what a rotten cunt.
Starting point is 00:38:11 You are totally true. Yeah. They recoil. If you have the choice of Tedding, the rotten under the hood, a Lamborghini or the 300,000 miles Honda Accord, take the Honda Accord. Yeah. All right, kids. That's O'Reilly auto comm slash fighter Yeah, trust me life is gonna be better. No it is it you're not giving the shop as much I'm not saying you're a better human there
Starting point is 00:40:36 You should not at all equate this to you are a better human in way In fact the number one thing that I have found like I I've gotten, I hope my wife can listen to this and not be insulted, the one thing that I really looked at myself and said, oh my gosh, I'm maturing, is that of course, physical beauty was a priority when I would be dating women or looking to date women. Some would say everything, but yeah, keep going. But yeah, it was a huge fact.
Starting point is 00:41:04 No, we can pretend I was absolutely when I was like 30 ish compared to when I was 20, 21, I absolutely got to a point where I, I, I more than anything, I was like, okay, yeah, she has to be hot at some point. I, or else I'm not even going to pay it. But yeah, but I was like, I need a woman who's who I look at and go, she's a good person. She makes me feel good about myself. She's clearly moral. And a good mom. Yes. Yes. And that, that, and I, I really do remember where I, I, I was being honest with myself, looking in the proverbial mirror and saying like, that's totally true. You are now valuing that. And I, and it was one of the clearer. Let's say, you know, I don't have many signs of maturity.
Starting point is 00:41:46 But that's how you know, you're getting older too. It's like the shit second date I was with my wife. I was like, you know, you're born to be a mom. Yeah. Like she's so loving Karen, obviously hottest shit. Mexican. Yeah. I was like, you know, you're born to be a mom. It's kind of, you know, so you're putting the source to be a mom.
Starting point is 00:42:01 She's a fucking ridiculous mom. Yeah, I knew it. And there's, if you find a hot one who's not crazy and wants to be a good. She's a fucking ridiculous mom. Yeah, I knew it and there's you find a hot one Who's not crazy? He wants to be a good mom. Yeah, dude lock it down Yeah, and I like all the like dating, you know Instagram feeds and tick tock and all I I know it sounds corny but there when you're talking about a Happy like a good life all of the All of the fucking boss bitch, all this fucking nonsense, none of it matters.
Starting point is 00:42:29 It's like who's that, you're balling career, yeah, a woman likes a guy who makes a lot of money, of course, I don't see anything wrong with it. But it all goes to shit and someone pulls the rug out from underneath you, you lose your job and everything's gone, who's that chick that's gonna stand behind you? Who doesn't care, yeah. I remember, I was listening to food truck diaries. I was driving home from San you, you lose your job and everything's gone. Who's that chick that's gonna stand behind you and do it? Yeah, who doesn't care, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:45 I remember, I was listening to food truck diaries. I was driving home from San Francisco, four or five years ago, I was just seen to, you talked to Dustin Poirier. And he told a story, and I literally, I'm driving in my car, crying on the five-foot-foot. Yeah, he got a mission to his wife. I'm fucking crying because he said,
Starting point is 00:43:03 I remember I lost, I was still like a regional up and coming guy and I lost a fight and things weren't going well for me. And I'm in the parking lot of that fight and I probably made 50 bucks or something. And I said, I gotta give up. It's not working out for me. I gotta find a real job and just change direction. And she held me, she's like, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:43:23 Your wife's in? His wife, he's telling the story. He said,, no, no. Your wife's sin? His wife. His wife, yeah. He's telling the story. He said, this is your dream, and we're gonna make it, and I'm fucking crying, and that's the shit you look for in a woman, trust me. If I can give any advice to a young guy, obviously.
Starting point is 00:43:36 And she's pregnant again, too. Thick ass. Having a little boy. Nice, good for them. Yeah. And I like Dustin Poirier. Do you know him at all? I've never met the man, but I'm a big fan.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Dude, there's a lot of fighters, so I'm like, yeah, I probably don't wake up to that guy buddy Salt of the fucking or a guy's guy and just works his ass off for his family Him and his wife did it together and it's like you obviously Connor has issues now, but that's a shame too His wife when he had nothing he had nothing. It's him and his wife They've known each other since fucking grade school, man. It's just the two of them. But they're very similar to Connor,
Starting point is 00:44:08 because we were talking about yesterday, both on and off the air, about how it's sad because you see those interviews of Connor when he was just a pimply faced nobody. Nothing better. Yeah, I've been working in plumbing, but I'm going to be a fighter. Nothing better.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Came from food stamps, bud. And you saw, there was a documentary about the Louisiana MMA scene. I think it was called Fightland. Anyway, it came out 15 years ago and young Poirier's in it. Super young. And he's the same where you're like, I'm rooting for this kid. What a nice solid dude. And Connor went this way and Dustin.
Starting point is 00:44:37 And the UFC got it right. Dustin has one more fight and they asked Dana, they go, why are you doing in Louisiana? He goes, honestly, we're doing it just for Dustin. It's his last one. It's in his home state. You're like, oh, they go, why are you doing in Louisiana? He goes, honestly, we're doing it just for Dustin. It's his last one. It's in his home state. You're like, oh, they got it right. They finally did it right.
Starting point is 00:44:50 That's awesome. It is. It's awesome. So I'm looking at these internet feeds. A lot of my internet, excuse me, my Instagram is girls with giant asses. And it's devoted to that, right? No shame in that.
Starting point is 00:45:12 I saw a picture of the lady who played Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island. And she has a wagon? From 1971. She has a wagon in the 70s? Are you ready for this? We're talking about women who are just touched by God. I'm always ready. This is prior to, this is no supplements, no hip thrust.
Starting point is 00:45:26 There's no, that shit doesn't exist. Just born that way. And look at this picture. And I have that. Wagoned up, that's not Photoshop? Bro, no. Cause I was like, well, that's AI. That's impossible.
Starting point is 00:45:37 But look, there's like, you could see kind of little cellulite underneath. I'm into it. Nothing better. But look at that face body setup Dude, she has God wagon in the 70s and you know what a lot of guys made fun of that It didn't really get cool to Kim Kardashian made big ass is cool. No, that's why I listen She has her flaws, but we should all bend the knee because big ass girls are like I don't want a big ass and then Kim came along like alright And then they're like that's what guys like and then all these bitches starting in BB else
Starting point is 00:46:05 I was Danny Bonaduce. He was the only guy I've ever heard openly talk about this I'm sure others have but to me I've never he said I grew up it was very strange Because I grew up in a world where like if a girl's ass couldn't fit in your hand She was gross, you know in the late 60s to the 25 and I still believe it's still the until it's It was like kind of like really, sadly thin and he said to this old. Like Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface. Yes, yes. They're like a coat hanger.
Starting point is 00:46:33 And I have buddies who love that. I'm like, I don't know. We're so wire different, dude. Just genetically, like big breasts and big ass means they're healthy and can feed the kids. Like it's in our DNA. I agree. I couldn't believe.
Starting point is 00:46:47 No, this is science. I don't even really understand the desire to see a woman who's a size zero at six feet and be like, yes. Getting in the modeling world, this is a model. I'm like, man, that ain't for me. Am I gay? That's the one great thing that Instagram and TikTok and all
Starting point is 00:47:04 that has shown is up until social media, the people who ran what was idealized imagery of women was other women and gay dudes. I mean, that's it. I mean, fashion designers and modeling agencies, they controlled what we saw. That's why those girls had all those eating disorders because they were so to get so thin,
Starting point is 00:47:26 because they wanted their clothes to look like coat hangers. Then we got control through this. And women are like, oh, I actually don't like it. I can eat. It's like, yeah. Unhealthy. Carve up, girl. I'm sure there's guys out there.
Starting point is 00:47:38 I'm sure there's a percentage of guys. But I think the overwhelming majority of straight men would prefer a girl 10 pounds overweight versus 10 pounds overweight versus 10 pounds under. I don't even. All day, dude. I think it's an overwhelming majority.
Starting point is 00:47:50 All day. And I just hope women can get that through there. Even my wife was losing weight, I was like, what are you doing? I didn't sign up for this. I said, if I show up 180 pounds, wouldn't you freak the fuck out? She's like, yeah, I'm like, yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:48:02 You didn't sign up for that. Sign up for the big guy. I signed up for the thick ass. What are we doing here? Yeah, that, and I feel like I'm talking about two sides of my mouth because I absolutely made the decision to settle down with a woman based almost purely off of what I saw in her as a person and the type of person
Starting point is 00:48:25 I thought that she could make me that I would constantly be pushed to be. Yeah, that's all sweet and fine. But I absolutely like sometimes we'll just she'll be on the farm, especially now with the Texas weather being what it is. Sweating. And she's wearing like cutoffs and I'm just like, oh, like, thank you for that. Yeah, game time. That's beautiful. Yeah, sweating on the farm. I mean, come on, dude. Yeah, it's social media, you know, there's a lot of terrible things to it and there's also a lot of great things and that's one of the great things.
Starting point is 00:48:50 It made women go, oh, I don't have to kill myself and cut weight to get a man. I actually encountered the division between what I think is one of the most beautiful things and then also one of the most horrible things in With social media last night looking at fighter and the kid socials you look at that stuff I don't I I made about two or three months ago. I go. I'm not very good at this digital broadcasting thing Because I came up in a world Radio, even if you were
Starting point is 00:49:26 balling, even if you were in many markets, you were syndicated, you were very successful, you do what you do and you turn off the mic and you walk away and it goes away, whether people like it or not. If you don't like it, then turn to a different station. I had no interaction, even on an advice show, the show was built around people calling in to talk to me. They usually had other things to talk about and they're not going to waste their time sitting in their car on hold to tell me that I suck. It happened, but it's very, very imprequent.
Starting point is 00:49:55 So I just made a decision. It's like, that's what I'm going to do in the digital space. And I suffer from it. I'm not very good at it and I'm not very successful because I don't take into consideration feedback. Now, obviously, it's not a good idea to wallow in it and get down rabbit holes because you'll drive yourself crazy. You're never going to please everyone. But I said, hey, this is a perfect example, Mike. You can kind of grow professionally. This is not your show.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Maybe you can get some positive or negative feedback on what you and Brendan should be talking about or what you'd prefer people to hear, blah, blah, blah. So I started, I went to YouTube and I went to Thomas like talk more fighting. It was, I was actually, I was very scared. And of course, was there negative stuff? Sure. But there was a very, it was not only just like positive, like I love you or I'm not talking about the ego kind of,
Starting point is 00:50:43 it was constructive stuff. Like these comments about John Jones kind of it was constructive stuff like These comments about John Jones and I was like, yeah, that's actually a good point. I want to talk to Brendan about that Isn't it strange that we now hear about these legal problems that happened in February The night after he announces his very peculiar I agree 100% and I never thought about that It's on the show because to that point, that's a great question from that person to the point, man, that's why I don't know exactly what's going on. Cause no one's more privy before any of us find out to what's going on legally with his fighters and Dana.
Starting point is 00:51:21 So if that happened in February, but then he was still teasing that the fight was done, and it's happening, don't worry it's happening, but you knew that stuff was going on. I'm like, when the people are like, dude, Dana's a bullshit-ness, I can kind of see how they come to that conclusion. But you knew these legal troubles were coming. You knew it was coming.
Starting point is 00:51:40 You told us the fight was happening, and then John retires because of this. I, again, I'm, I'm with my, what the fuck is going on? My only conclusion is there's way more to this than we know. That's, that's my only conclusion. Like how peculiar it was, the announcement of his retirement, the timing of the, the, the release of this new information. Like what is going on with Albuquerque law enforcement, with UFC, all of it, all of it's weird And then also the fans like he's ducking them
Starting point is 00:52:08 Yeah, I mean I I don't think so because John Jones I trained with him and maybe because I hold in such high regard Man, maybe you're right. Yeah, maybe he is maybe that's the truth at the end of the day. We really don't know Yeah, so people like he's ducking them or he's not or Dana knew about this Dana didn't know about this The fight was never happening. You might be fucking right. No, none of us know besides Dana John Tom Definitely doesn't know Tom. Tom's out of the loop. Tom's the one that got over in England. Just like I'm training He's like I'm ready to go and then Dana's calling him feeding them. Don't worry, dude Yeah, he told me he's gonna do it, knowing all this stuff's going on, buddy. Give him fucking $10 million, you fuck this guy, get over.
Starting point is 00:52:51 The only one who gets fucked out of this is Tom Asimov. Dana's still Scrooge McDuck, John's still the greatest of all time, Tom's fighting for his fucking legacy, and you just put him on the shelf for a year, and if you didn't know this stuff, two years, and you just put him on the shelf for a year. No. And if you didn't know this stuff, two years and you just put them on the shelf. Yeah. And, and Tom, by all, we don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:12 I don't, I've never met the man. I've never been the same state as the man, but he seems like a great guy. Yeah. Aspinal seems like a great, great guy. Grew up in the gym, you know, close family guy. What is ideal situation now in the octagon? I have my opinions. What do you think? Uh, close family guy. What is ideal situation now in the octagon? I have my opinions. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:53:27 Uh, here you go. I think, all right, you guys fucked over Tom. He's lost two years of his, of his prime. He wants to be the very best. We're going to see how much the UFC actually cares about Tom, depending what matchups are next. If they don't think he's the real truth and they don't really give a fuck, you're going to see, um, Sarah gone, which nobody gives a flying fuck about that fight. Bad choice. Yeah. You see Sarah gone, which the fan base is going to revolt and
Starting point is 00:53:53 everyone's be so disappointed because you promise this mega fight, which didn't happen. You're going to get Sarah gone. They didn't get Almeida, the complete shit to guy. Tom's going to fucking annihilate him. So those are going to be his next two fights. If they don't give a flying fuck about him. If they want to do what's right and pay back Tom for his time and for all this headache, you would do Alex Pierre and X, which is kind of a give me fight for Tom. He should fucking destroy him. But we don't care about that.
Starting point is 00:54:20 You owe him that. You owe him that. Bring the line up to slaughter. You owe him to that. And it's a ratings blockbuster. We know all too well. We get ratings, he makes a ton of money, and there is a world where Alex lands a shot,
Starting point is 00:54:30 and it affects him. You can't be hit that hard and not have it be a possibility. For sure. So there's that, and the fan base go crazy. Okay, we got a super fight. We're not going to complain. You still fuck them over,
Starting point is 00:54:39 which the internet's still going to bark at, but at least you're making it right. So you do Tom Asimov, XP, and all that. Cool, that's a great fight. And you do that this year. Man, that's a fantastic fight. Then after that, despite whatever issues Dana has with Francis, it's not 2010.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Dana doesn't control everything. It's TKO. You have shareholders. You fucking, PFL cannot, they don't have an opponent for Francis. He's out there in the middle of nowhere, he's ranked number one in the world by all metrics, he did the boxing thing, the fan base knows him,
Starting point is 00:55:10 the casuals know him, you fucking figure it out. You get Francis back. You do Alex Piera, Tom versus Francis, and if Tom beats both of those guys, he will be regarded as the greatest or one of the greatest to ever do it, at least number one right now For a fact and then oh what happens John's gone through his whole legal shit now John's like now
Starting point is 00:55:32 I'm down to find him. Yeah, and then the last final boss is John Jones. It goes Alex Piero Francis and Gano your final boss is John Jones. Tom's the greatest of all time makes all the money That's how they should treat him. If it doesn't go down in that fashion, and they give him the serial gun, and they give him fucking Almeida that nobody gives a flying fuck about watching, now you know what they think of Tom.
Starting point is 00:55:56 I agree, but the only thing I disagree with is, do you want that final boss fight to be John coming back, considering I really disliked, I got why he did it because it was probably a huge payday and he's a, he's a, he's a family man. And I'm a Tom Sipay. I was really sad watching the steep fight because it was 40 year old Sipay who hadn't fought in two years that I did not want that to be my last image of a guy who was a fucking legendary
Starting point is 00:56:24 yeah. That's how it goes. That's my only, that's my only complaint. Yeah. And he probably made, I don't know, five, six million. I get it. I support it. Dude spinning heel kick me in the fucking liver for six mil all day. So, you know, at least it didn't get completely annihilated, but you know, it wasn't very fun to watch. Yeah. But I, I, I do think, and this is also discipline to John. All right this shelf this dude on the shelf for two years. You've dragged all this shit out We have to deal with all your legal bullshit. Here's the money that you asked for whatever 25 mil. Here's Tom Asimov
Starting point is 00:56:56 At the highest fucking level Confidence through the roof. He took out Alex Piera. He took out fucking Francis and Ghana. You have no choice He's the number one fucking guy Here you go And then can you imagine how many people are you rooting for tom a small? It's good guy versus bad guy for the number one spot in the heavyweight fucking division in the world Oh, it was possibly the biggest heavyweight fight of all time. It would be take my fucking money Massive if that doesn't happen, Dana, the UFC owes Tom an apology,
Starting point is 00:57:28 owes the fan base an apology. Cause we've been told that we're getting these super fights where we lost to period Mark Chev, we lost fucking Francis. We're not getting the shit that you told us. You're giving these watered down cars. You can't cards. You kind of fucking know it to us, man. And not to, not to me. I mean, I'll watch it all. I'm a degenerate. You could keep doing it in fucking apex and I'll watch it, whatever. But you owe it to Tom. Yeah. Cause the division under your guys's account is a complete shit show. There's nobody we give a fuck. It's kind of your fault. It's also, you don't have any
Starting point is 00:58:00 fucking recruiters. You don't have any scouts looking for heavyweights. The division complete fucking nightmare. Do it for Tom, man. And also- You also need stars, bitch. Lest we forget. All the things you said- I can't think of the last time where I would be like, my dick's hard for this heavyweight fight.
Starting point is 00:58:18 And I would be all three of those fights you mentioned. I'm like, I cannot wait. Call up the homies and come over. We're going to party. Um, so yeah, totally true. And another thing that factors in, I believe it was, uh, the king of West land, Mr. Chail Sonnen, who pointed this out.
Starting point is 00:58:34 Alex Bahara might literally be the only guy in the history of MMA that can legitimately be champ, champ, champ. I can't think of another one who could ever potentially legitimately pull that off. Islam month of 10th, 55, 75. Could he go to 85? I don't know, it'd be tough. To your point, you might be right.
Starting point is 00:58:56 There's very few guys. Islam, maybe Topi, they're bigger guys, it'd be tough. But to your point, yeah, you're right. The reason I was thinking about what he was saying is like, A, the way Alex fights and the way he hits, true. B, how fucking, he's that big when you see him, you're like, what? How do you not fight it heavyweight?
Starting point is 00:59:12 He's 242 now. How do you not fight it heavyweight? Now, I will say this. But Islam, who is remarkable, is such a control-based fighter, do you think going up to a guy's that heavy? Because I know, I don't know him, but I've seen him in person, Sean Strickland and I'm like, you fight at one 85, how the, he
Starting point is 00:59:33 looks like an NFL fucking football player. I either so big and I just, I know Islam is on so much more skilled than them. He is. He is. I'm sick. Islam's so, and is on watch around about 200. Is he that big? I've never seen the guy. Yeah. So maybe it's so awesome. And Islam walks around about 200. Is he that big? I've never seen the guy.
Starting point is 00:59:45 Yeah. So maybe it's too big. A lot of it. And then also you got to remember, and this is why what Alex is doing is way more impressive, Islam's base is grappling. So his chances of failure is so much smaller than Alex Piera. Like what Izzy did being just a striker, dude, it's the level of difficulty is insane because when you fight Izzy, when you fight Alex Pia, you know, they're not
Starting point is 01:00:10 going to submit you. There's no wrestling. You know, the game plan, all they do is strike. So it's not that it's easy, but it's definitely more easy than a guy if he's striking, grappling, fucking wrestling. That's a fucking nightmare. So their level of difficulty to become champ is so much higher, because their chances to lose
Starting point is 01:00:27 is so much higher, because they're just on the feet at all times. So their chances to get knocked out are significantly higher than Islam or Khabib. That's why Khabib's not my goat, because his level of difficulty, just being a grappler, your chances of winning are so much higher. So when I look at Alex, I look at Izzy,
Starting point is 01:00:44 it's insane what they're doing. For Alex to pull off with you at 70, sorry, at 85, at 205, and then if he goes to heavyweight, because he's strictly just a fucking striker, it's so insane. But I will say this, the one knock against him, if there's gonna be one, he's a knockout artist at 85. He's a knockout artist at 205, heavyweights different.
Starting point is 01:01:10 I don't know if his power will translate. And Tom has a chin, Francis has a chin. If you think Alex hits harder than Tom and Francis and Gano, again, I got Beachfront Property in Colorado to sell you. So I don't know if it's going to transfer it now Tom the the one knock on Tom that we've seen him seen from him with those 10 minutes inside the icon He does have some defensive errors. Yeah, he really does in the Sergey Pavlovich fight, you know, he's
Starting point is 01:01:38 His chins out front of his feet So a guy like Alex can take advantage of that a guy like France can take advantage of that. A guy like France can take advantage of that. And at heavyweight, it's different than all these other divisions. That's why everyone tunes in because one shot, it's fucking overdue. We're at middle weight, at light, at 45, 35. You make a few mistakes and not, you know, you might be get wobbled, but it's not lights out. At heavyweight, that small error, that small judgment where you should have zigged when you should have zag zagged it's fucking overdue over there so for Alex margin you know I don't know if it's gonna translate I if anyone's gonna translate it's him he's a fun also but also let's be like am I talking too much
Starting point is 01:02:17 fighting no I'm not with me I don't know too much in the weeds Jen but also I think and at 205 and 185 because he not, he's not a very skilled grappler for at the highest levels. But his striking was so devastating. Alex was able to, I mean, I, I would put a lot of money on Tom Aspinall being able to take him down and drag him down. And have you heard Tom talk about the fight? No.
Starting point is 01:02:42 With him and Francis, he's like, oh no, just there's gonna be none of that I'm just gonna shoot right away like Randy couture fucking James Tony I know for a low single fucking heel pick and dude fuck. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we're most like, oh no, come on man Entertain it. He's like fuck you dude. Wait, that guy's a blue belt. No, man I've been in fucking jujitsu gym since I was a fucking diapers and guys I'm gonna steal you are good have said to me like guys who are really good have said to me they're like Tom Aspinall's jiu-jitsu's way better than people think it is like he yeah my question would be and it's just a thing with big guys there was Verdoom had a great guard as a
Starting point is 01:03:16 big guy with Tom and it seemed I have the same issue too like my guard I can do enough to get out of there I can sweep guys but it's not dangerous like a Charles Olivera it's not dangerous, like a Charles Olivera, it's not dangerous like some of these other outliers, because as a big guy, especially if you're, you know, explosive and athletic, most of the time, I'd say 90% of the time, you're on top. So your top game's fantastic,
Starting point is 01:03:38 all your submissions come from top. So for Tom, I would, and this is to the credit of John, John says the same thing too, he's like his Jiu-Jitsu. He has a black belt from England. That means all fuck off. And also how's his guard? Cause John's going to get them down. He's going to be in this guard. You ever seen what John does to John is? Alex Behead is not. No, that's my point is like when it comes to like, let's just be clear. Is there a chance that he, Alex catches him? Sure.
Starting point is 01:04:06 He's a, his hands are allowed. But do you know how quickly he's going to drag him to the ground and pass guard and ground pound or if you're, if you're at Tom's level too, you can even pull the half guard to you. You know what I'm saying? I got used to get mad at Frank mayor who had an insane guard, even for doom with so many straight strikers, I'm like, just jump the fucking guard, dude.
Starting point is 01:04:28 Fuck all this noise and then sweep them. And those guys had the skill set to do it. Underrated Frank Mir, dangerous, dangerous fucking grappler. Dude, really sick as fuck. So dangerous, dude. Hey, I think, I don't know the man, but his motorcycle accident I think affected him much more than people.
Starting point is 01:04:43 Yeah, great guy. Because Frank Mir was really dangerous Yeah, and then now like they're like the one guy and have a division has good guards Almeida Mm-hmm, but it's literally all he has it's but he has a great guard in the heavyweight division Compared to Charles Rivera to oh no to Damien Maya to that that stocky fucker. Um, Chakra No, they know now all fights now. Um, jacquard. No, they're not right now All fights now. Yeah, he just fought. Um, he just fought, uh islam and lost. Um, like a couple years He's really good at jiu-jitsu and he's a great fighter kid. No, he's a brazilian a little little power plug brazilian kid. Um

Starting point is 01:07:27 Uh. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, not shredded, not wiry, like a little power, but like a fucking powerful. Not Kalaharis. No, no, no, no, no. Husmar is a, oh, that's a whole, that's a whole nother beast. He currently fights and he's a competitive. At what division whole nother beast. He currently fights in the, and he's a competitive.
Starting point is 01:07:45 At what division? 55? No. Maybe 55. Maybe it's, maybe that's why I fucked it up. No, Gleason didn't have a good guard. I mean like, he had a good guard, but not like. No, this kid, and this kid is- Not his guard though.
Starting point is 01:07:59 Not like an outlier, but yeah, he was a fucking beast. Start, read off some fucking- Scroll in for me. Scroll. Wait. Yeah. Uh, let's see. I hear starting Sean Brady.
Starting point is 01:08:10 No, no, I'll, I'll, uh, he's a definitely a fucking top 10 fighter and I can't now, now I must know. I don't care how long it takes me. Um, you actually have the weight division, right? He's, he's, he's not a light heavyweight or a heavyweight and he's not, he banned him. He's a stockier guy, but off the top of my head, I don't know if he's 55, 70 or 85.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Now a guy who's a freak with Jiu Jitsu would be RDR. RDR, RDR sick. That's not who you're talking about. And he's my boy. No, no, no. I don't know who the fuck you're talking about, dude. You say he fought, but you're not sure if he's my boy. No, no, no who the fuck you're talking on, dude You say they fought it but you're not sure if he's one is on the fight currently Yes, he's and he's a competitive fighter now in in the rankings
Starting point is 01:08:59 Yes, no what I can't for what if he was like all the way there is no no I can't for the life of me believe that I can't think... What if he was like Max Holloway, there he is. No, no, no. I can't for the life of me believe that I can't think of his name and that he is... It's gonna bother me all day. No, it's gonna bother me now. I'm dying. Oh, God damn it. All right, let's move on.
Starting point is 01:09:19 I'm sorry. I fucked it up. Okay, okay, here we go. Here we go. All these divisions. I wouldn't be surprised if you Okay. Here we go. Here we go. Do you, I all these divisions, I wouldn't be surprised if you're talking about like a 45 or 35 or not going to lie, Mike, this is a little anticommunicative. I know I buy fuck this all. I've absolutely shit.
Starting point is 01:09:37 He has a guy with a good guard. I shit my pants on this one. A good guard player, man. You're not talking about figurino stocky Brazilian. No, no. Yeah. He you're sure. I think he fought comes out. I think 85 then Gilbert Gilbert burns. No, no, no. Gilbert burns. Gilbert burns. Gilbert burns. Gilbert burns. Gilbert burns. Gilbert burns. Same bro. Yeah. He's a world champion. That's okay. Like that's his thing. Wait, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert,
Starting point is 01:10:08 Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert,
Starting point is 01:10:16 Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert, You started with Islam. So we're just thinking like lighter. No, I know. I fucked up. You are all over the place. I fucked up. Did he fight, did he fight coms at who? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:30 That's a good fight. Good fight. I was thinking of the distance. I didn't had a damn good shot at winning that fight. No Gilbert burns is one of those guys where you're talking about the jujitsu is so devastating. Yes. And I don't think, I don't think you see that in the heavyweight right now.
Starting point is 01:10:46 The closest we saw probably would you say, do you think, you think he's that kind of, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cause I remember for doom was that guy where he like you get in his garden. Good Al Almeida's credentials. Almeida's Jitsu's fucking top elite. Yeah. But that's it. Yeah. His wrestling's not good. It is not terrible, but his wrestling's not great. He has, you know, Jitsu take downs, his striking's atrocious, not matter that physique either. His record or is a no, his credentials in Jiu-Jitsu. He won.
Starting point is 01:11:14 I think he went, yeah, he won in Mundial's or something. Like he's, he's legit as fuck. Keep going down to it. It'll show us to keep going down. Now he's a guy where he could compete at two or five. I think. Keep going down to Jiu-Jitsu. Look, that's a, that's the bottom right there. They don't have anything on his jiu-jitsu. Usually it's on that right side.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Now we're both going into territory. We're just staring at screens. It's a great podcast. Usually it's around here. Type in his jiu-jitsu. just staring at screens. It's a great podcast. Usually it's around here. Type in his jujitsu. I mean, it's literally all he does. He's not great at anything else. He's not, he's such a savage.
Starting point is 01:11:52 He gets him down to the ground. I love that is when you see it at heavyweight. Like I, I remember like, like depends on the fight. Peak, peak Fabrizio was crazy. See, remember people forget he submitted Fador when it was like on Hurta. Yes. He got him that triangle. You're like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 01:12:08 And then it happened. Bigfoot did it and other guys did it. But when he did it, bloody, Verdoom top two heavyweights of all time for me. He got it here. Brazilian two time or multiple time Brazilian national champion, Pan Am's and Nogi world champion. Sick. King of pancreas, um, under Hensel Gracie is a black belt. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:31 He's a pretty legit. That's pretty legit. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, yeah, but you know, and, and that I love excellence in that regard. And I still kind of, obviously the game has changed so much where people can't just be experts in one arena, but it does, it does tickle my fancy. When I see, when you see, when I would see Izzy just that, that,
Starting point is 01:12:52 that step back on Robert Whitaker and out on your just like, Whoa. And then same, the same thing when you see like Charles Olivera in guards setting stuff up and just, now I'm a Jiu Jitsu guy. I fucking love Jiu Jitsu. It's my favorite discipline. Fucking love it. Right. Black belt love it, manjitsu. It's my favorite discipline. Fucking love it, right?
Starting point is 01:13:05 Black belt, love it, man. I'll defend it to the death. But in mixed martial arts in 2025, if there's a discipline where let's say you could only be a world-class wrestler, world-class jiu-jitsu, world-class striker, the worst one to have as a base is jiu-jitsu. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:20 Guys can figure out there's anti-jiu-jitsu guys. Now the wrestlers base are a little too good. They tend to pick up striking a little better than jiu-jitsu guys, but to be just-Jiu-Jitsu guys now. The wrestlers base are a little too good. They tend to pick up striking a little better than the Jiu-Jitsu guys. But to be just a Jiu-Jitsu guy like Krone or Hodger Gracie or, you know, Hoist Gracie, those days are over. Those days are over. I was at the-
Starting point is 01:13:35 Guys are too good now. I was at the forum. This is probably, no, sorry, the Staples Center in what used to be the Staples Center. I don't know what they call it now. Crypto bullshit. Yeah, crypto. And this is probably 2005 or six.
Starting point is 01:13:46 And Rogan gave Kevin of Kevin and Bean and I tickets to see a UFC. And it was the night Matt Hughes fought Hoist Gracie. And I watched- Beat the break-up. Matt Hughes beat up Hoist Gracie like he was fighting me. Yeah. And I said, wow.
Starting point is 01:14:01 But we're not talking 2020. This was five to six years after hoist. Gracie was, yeah. Hoist could easily beat anyone in the world. They released was competitive with time. Yeah. Yeah. And Matt Hughes beat him like smashed him out and it was, and I'm right. Even at that point, 20 years ago, I was like, okay, things are just different
Starting point is 01:14:22 and things are just totally different. Now when you have a guy with high level jiu-jitsu and he has good wrestling base and he's very good on the feet and athletic like a Tom Asenal, then you have a problem. Now Tom- Where they can take advantage of those scrambles and still search for the submission like a Charles
Starting point is 01:14:37 Lolavera, then you have a fucking problem. Islam's there. Tom has the intangible too in that his nervous system, his reactions, he's gifted athletically. He's so fast. But we do, again, I love him and he's gonna be one of the best. I wholeheartedly believe that.
Starting point is 01:14:54 I'm on the Tom Aspinal train. But we don't know what he looks like in deep water. No, it's true. We don't know what he's gonna look like. Let's say John takes him down over and over and we're into the fourth round. What's that Tom, what's the explosiveness looks like? What's the footwork look like? Let's say John takes him down over and over and we're into the fourth round. What's that time, what's the explosiveness looks like? What's the footwork look like?
Starting point is 01:15:07 Does he get flat footed? Because he has a heavyweight. Does he get tired? Does he, you know, we just don't know. And even Tom, this is what I love about him, he goes, I want that, I'm looking for that guy to drag me into deep waters. I encourage that, I'm looking for that.
Starting point is 01:15:20 No one's been able to do it. I want that in my life. Now, I think if he beats John, it's probably in the first second round. He clips him and he fucking knocks him out. So I don't know if there is a guy that's gonna drag him into deep waters. You know?
Starting point is 01:15:34 It could be a Francis maybe, but again, he gets Francis down, turn him a high level black belt. Francis is a blue belt at best. You know, I don't know. What we know of John Jones as a human, does John Jones tap or is he going to sleep and letting you break his arm? You're not, John's jujitsu is so good, dude.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Yeah, yeah, it's way more underrated. You know Gordon Ryan, ask Gordon how good his jujitsu is. No, I've heard Gordon talk. Because Gordon would go, I'll catch him in something and then it's Gordon Ryan, dude, the greatest of all time. And then he goes, and then once I tap him that, it will never be available again. It doesn't happen again, yeah. He goes, it's just, it's just, he just takes it away.
Starting point is 01:16:06 Maybe it's not even an opportunity. That's going right. And so it's like, if you're looking for those guillotines, those ankle locks, he's seen it all, man. Is that what you're, I don't think Tom submits them. Not a chance. Is what you're talking about with like, he is a heavyweight. Does he get flat footed in round three?
Starting point is 01:16:20 Right. Is that one of the other reasons why people need to wrap their head around how fucking awesome King Velasquez was? Because he wasn't a big heavyweight, but still that was a guy who Wanted to drag others into deep water and never got tired. It was fucking amazing Yeah, listen as far as you know credentials records go, you know strength of all that stuff if you gave me one heavyweight Yeah you know, strength of all that stuff. If you gave me one heavyweight, you said, he had to represent Earth versus fucking Mars if they had a UFC, and you have to rep one heavyweight
Starting point is 01:16:50 from all the generations, one heavyweight, and Mars started their own fucking fight, Lee, up there, and you only get one to represent Earth, and I can only win the prime, it's Cain Velasquez. Cain Velasquez, prime Cain Velasquez, beats the brakes off Fadorador beats the shit out of Francis Yeah, you name it There's there's never been a heavyweight who had the quick hands the chin the fucking wrestling
Starting point is 01:17:14 The dude the boxing was fucking wild and the pace. Yes, dude the pace and now I Train with Daniel Cormier in the I was a, dude, he, and I had good cardio. I was known for my cardio. DC melted me, dude, where I was like, holy fuck, dude. And ISDC, I go, you do this to Kenny, he goes, complete opposite. He melts me, dude. I'm like, ah!
Starting point is 01:17:40 And I almost had to fight that fucking guy? Who's the homie who runs the gym up there in San Jose? Javier Vasquez? Javi Vasquez. Javi Vasquez. Yeah. He, he, his stories about when Kane came to like, and he's like, okay, sure. Wrestler kid would go over there. He's like, do a thousand kicks and then you can to be a dick, like thinking that no one's gonna.
Starting point is 01:17:59 And then came back. He's like, okay, what now? He's like, oh, okay, this guy's different. And freak of all things. I went to a seminar that Kane did at Gracie Humaita at Tim's Academy, and he's one of those guys that we were talking about. There's some dudes that, okay, there's a darkness there,
Starting point is 01:18:17 you understand why they got into cage fighting. Then there's some people, you're so nice. How do you have this other side of you? Kane don't have that. Kane is so nice. He's so nice that it became it turned around again I was like, are you a bond villain? Yeah, he was so nice to me. You're gonna murder everybody after this She was trying to be fucking scrub. Kyle Kingsbury was there helping him in this It sounds great. Josh Thompson. I'm sure was there and super friendly. Who was that? Who was the heavyweight?
Starting point is 01:18:43 In the octagon, unfortunately his career didn't pan out very well, but his physique was, we'd never seen. Todd Duffy. Todd Duffy was there too. And, uh, freak and, but Kane would, and now, now the thing's over. And Kane gives a speech and everybody claps and like, thank you so much for Kane. Tim's there. He's like, thanks. Thank everyone. Sorry. Thank Kane, Everyone for his time. And we all, and he talked to us about like being successful in life and all of it. And
Starting point is 01:19:09 then after like, I didn't, I didn't even fucking ask. He walks up back to me. He's like, let me give you a little bit more detail on the stuff we were working on because I was asking questions and there's 50 people there and he sat in fucking rolling with me. I'm like, you are the nice, and he talks like this. Yeah, he's so soft spoken. And I'm like, are you a fossil? And like, not like if, if you, you know, stood him next, Francis or Tom Asimov, who's massive, like those two are much better.
Starting point is 01:19:37 Yeah, he has narrow shoulders, not very muscular, no definition. He had big legs and ass, but you know, kind of a tummy looked like you never benched before the Brown pride tattoo might give a hint. He's a bad-ass, but in generally, okay. He's a fucking head, like a Rottweiler shoulders, like a teenage chick.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Are you serious? If you saw him, he would be the shit. Remember what he did to junior dos Santos and that picture or Kane's coming down and junior's face just melts under the glove. And Junior's a G. We're not talking about it. Here's one of the unfortunate things about Kane Velasquez. You remember when it was one of the biggest fights ever.
Starting point is 01:20:17 It was the first time UFC was on Fox. They did Kane Velasquez versus JDS. Do I remember? That was the only fight on the show. The whole rest of the card was not televised on Fox. It was going to be the unveiling of last year. And JDA junior caught him. The shame in that fight that most people don't know
Starting point is 01:20:35 is Cain Velasquez was so compromised and didn't want to fight. His team didn't want him to fight. He didn't want to fight. And the UFC brass like, nah, bitch, this on Fox, get your shit together. It sucks. Because he, but he, he made it up because I believe they fought again twice. he didn't want to fight and the UFC brass like not bitch this on Fox get your shit together it sucks Because he but he he made it because I believe they fought again twice
Starting point is 01:20:48 Yeah, we're talking. Did you see what a different level of ass kicking the face? Just I remember that picture just buddy he changed JDS is DNA forever And how tough is JDS because that was that was like prime genuinely uncomfortable to watch like that level of ass-kicking And now I know also on Brock that was an ass Oh my god, that was an asking he beat him up like schoolyard ass-kicking took him down I couldn't believe your legs fucking random Yeah, there's that that's the picture man That one is like etched in my memory
Starting point is 01:21:21 That's the picture, man. That one is like etched in my memory. If you have to pick one guy, if you have to pick one guy to represent earth for heavyweights in the prime, it's Cain Blass. That makes sense. That's an absolutely great choice. And also really, especially for heavyweight, he was so complete. Yeah, obviously wrestling was what got him to the dance. His footwork and his cardio and his ability.
Starting point is 01:21:44 He could submit guys if need be. I mean, he was such a complete fighter, man. He was really, I, I was a big fan, but best ever do it. And then also like then there, but he's supposed to get on January from prison. Kane's complete, right? But then there was like, like prime Uber Eam where then that also, that also gets my dick hard. Like the idea of like someone who can just ding, ding. And then everyone's like, Oh shit.
Starting point is 01:22:12 That when he kicks, when he kicked Brock in the chest, in the stomach, in the stomach, and he knew he had a stomach issue. And he's built like a fucking Greek God, that dude, Anthony, Rumble Johnson, prime Anthony. Prime Anthony sure is like, okay What yeah fucks gonna do? uber reamed a juiced Uber ream is by far the best looking most and you're talking at the time to the most talented strike in the world And he's on juice devastating fuck off. He's like 170 pounds now and here's what people yeah
Starting point is 01:22:44 He's like vegan or some shit, run for governor. But here's the thing that's weird too, also phenomenal jujitsu. He, his guillotine is fucking world class. What, what, uberium, You still have to use it. What, what, over him, Alistair Overim did in learning his jujitsu
Starting point is 01:23:02 is what Damien Maia should be like, let me think of a better example. What are you saying? When, for someone to be that, essentially he was a professional kickboxer and to have the progress of where he got to with his jujitsu, like again, is he winning ADCC?
Starting point is 01:23:22 No, but to have, to grow the way he did was did was like, I don't know if I can think of someone who's gone the opposite direction. Let's just have it quite as well. Like, is there someone who was like dominant competitive Jiu-Jitsu fighter that or a grappler that became Johnny Hendrix, Gilbert Hendrix was a wrestler that could knock the Gilbert burns. Good example. When I met Gilbert at black house, he was just our
Starting point is 01:23:45 Jiu-Jitsu coach, no striking, no wrestling. And then you see him in the UFC, it's fucking heavy hands, dude, heavy hand. I mean, that's so I mean, for doom, you know, for doom, the way he got into it, you know, he was crow cops, Jiu-Jitsu coach. Yeah. Well, and also like, man, you're a bad ass. That's a great like say less.
Starting point is 01:24:03 Let me try this striking thing out. I am a very passionate fan. Friberizio is a perfect example. I'm a very passionate fan. I'm someone who trains. I like it. I think I'm compared to the average person. I'm pretty good and I will get in there and mix it up with people.
Starting point is 01:24:22 I know my restraints. You keep them busy. I know not to overstep my boundaries, you know? And I thought like that meant I could be around people who kill in the Oka and my friend, like I said, God rest his soul. My, my close friend, before I even got into Jiu-Jitsu at all, my friend that I grew up with was Orlando Sanchez.
Starting point is 01:24:41 He went on to win ADCC, little tank of a- Oh yeah, he was a monster. And he trained- He, uh, he did. Verdoom killed him. Finally pulled the plug. Cause he was like, wasn't he the guy that fucked with, uh, Shon Strickland. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:55 What'd he put die from? Yeah. He lived life really hard in the, in the ring and outside of it. He was, he was a hard overdose. Yeah. That's such a shame. And, um, and also on top of that, he was, he was a hard charge overdose. Yeah. That's such a shame. And, um, and also on top of that, he was, he was his strength and size and power was
Starting point is 01:25:09 absolutely an asset, but he would, he was not in shape. He was, he didn't take good, he ate too much. And that's such a shame. Um, and he, it was like, and I really, it was, um, it was very sad cause we were very close. He was, uh, You grew up with him.
Starting point is 01:25:21 I did. He grew up in Locking Out. I grew up in San Marino and I, and we knew each other like football, just hanging out. And then I got to know him after graduation because he was way into power lifting, lifting weights and we lifted weights together at Gold's in Pasadena and we immediately bonded.
Starting point is 01:25:33 We were friends, we were boys. Then he started training jujitsu with Alberto Crane and kind of across the street in Pasadena. And Orlando's like, dude, you gotta come train with me. I was like, I don't know, man. Okay. And I, and he got me and he really kept encouraging me to keep coming back and training. He was so good. But I also, the first year of Jiu-Jitsu, maybe year and a half of Jiu-Jitsu was kind of miserable
Starting point is 01:25:58 for me because of that. Because- You're training with his began? I wasn't going to classes much. I was just training with him. Yeah, it's tough. And so it'll be him and Hamulo be him and homo, baral and They just passed me back and forth and fuck me up in between in between other Brazilian animals Like where they're really training I would be there in my D like hey guys my white blood and then they just fucking eat Beat me up. I thought I thought you jitsu was like learning to survive better
Starting point is 01:26:20 I didn't know pass around like anyway on whore. He also became one of the jujitsu coaches at um, Haffeyo Cordero's gym in Orange County. What? Black house? It was a black house. Kings. Kings MMA. That's where Verdun's from. So Verdun initially brought in Orlando for Roy Nelson because he was a stocky big guy and they train and then they became, then he became an ongoing coach. Tell me you didn't jump in with for do no Orlando invites me. He's like, dude, you gotta come out to orange County. And I was like, of course I was such a fan. Uh, Vanderlei's there for dooms there.
Starting point is 01:26:57 And then it's just crazy amounts of like famous people. And I bring my, uh, I, of course I'm not bringing wraps and gloves. I know that, but I brought no-gee stuff and I was gonna train and I get there and I walk in and Fabrizio's training in a ring with someone, I don't know this man, a big f- And that knocks him unconscious and no one fucking bats an eye and Vandalees
Starting point is 01:27:20 in the corner on like a treadmill, like one of those fast sprinting treadmills like with the curvature And I'm like dude Fuck that but that's a 100% like literally I walk in the first thing I see Rafael Cordero's training be like, oh amazing. It's Rafael Cordero. I look and for doom knocks a guy out like And no one's like, oh no, what are we doing? And I was like, okay. First rule of fight club, don't train with Verdu. I'm good. They invited me so many times,
Starting point is 01:27:49 my boy Pat Cummins would train with him. And he'd be like, I can't spar today. I'd be like, what happened? He's like, Verdu threw a flying knee and sparring man. Fuck me up. I'm like, what the fuck are you doing? And I was getting ready for a fight at the time. Verdu was like, come man, we'll learn off each other.
Starting point is 01:28:04 I'm like, not a chance, dude. You hear those old stories, the shoot the box, like, like the old back when, when even Anderson was still with them and Shogun, and then Janderlei and, and like that, that whole culture, it's different. Like they weren't athletes. They were fighters. Like shit did not translate. It was like a street fight, fight which went into a gym every day
Starting point is 01:28:27 It's insane. I I believe the story is and who knows how much Legend and lore this is but I believe when when Anderson and Rafael Cordero had their personal problems that Anderson came back with a shotgun to kill him Hmm and that way and babe it wasn't like the police were called and this became an incident. That was just, that's how they were living their fucking life. They're wild boys. Some would say the golden age of MMA. As far as, as far as excitement. I would say the best time was like when Pride, Strike Force and UFC, it was like, and you saw it wasn't around. You're talking about, I mean, it was just better. It just was.
Starting point is 01:29:01 Excitement wise, absolutely. Excitement wise, toughness wise,itement-wise, toughness-wise, social media was in the thing. Don't give a fuck how many Twitter followers you had or Instagram followers. They were just fighters, fighters, man. And there was no negotiation of money and I'm scared of this guy, buddy.
Starting point is 01:29:18 It was like the fucking Wild West, man. I think, and I have a lot to support my argument, I think that when you're talking about artwork, entertainment, athletics, and the highest standard ever was mid 90s to like early 2000. And I'm not saying, because everything that I just mentioned is better now from an objective. LeBron James, Steph Curry, they score more points,
Starting point is 01:29:43 but I'm saying the standards were high. When you really take a look with great camera work and everything, the defense, the dudes were playing mid 90s, early 2000s. So much harder to score. The pace of the game, how hard was the board? NFL, this episode is also brought to you by our friends and family at True Classic, the best of the best. I saw this video the other day. To your point, not to interrupt you, they asked Lawrence Taylor,
Starting point is 01:30:52 the greatest sack artist of all time. And then the guy, the guy, Micah Parsons was about to break his record, close to it. And they go, what do you think about it? And he takes a second goes, cause they pass like 80% more now, he goes, you know how many sacks I would have
Starting point is 01:31:08 if I played today? Like my sacks, dude, there's mainly running. He's like, and I still got that many sacks. These guys now, they know that the 75% of the time it's a pass. So they're just teeing off at the quarterback. I did not have that advantage. You know how many fucking sacks I would have if I played today's game and the way it's a different time
Starting point is 01:31:29 No all sports the way the rules change to make it more to continually push the excitement and push the numbers Also make it softer. He creates a softer game NBA much softer MMA in the grand scheme things softer It just it is no it's a softer product even even current look I bet you Steph Curry to bit it off the air. He did it. It's just what you talk about. I believe it was, it was on Matt Barnes show, whatever that it's a great show by the way. He has all the smoke is that it was on all the smoke. I don't, it might've been Gilbert Arenas, but if someone was saying like, look, you talk about like guys who ball out now, but let's like, let's take big men. For example,
Starting point is 01:32:02 You talk about like guys who ball out now, but let's take big men for example. You can do all the things you do now. You have no idea what it was like night after night for like Duncan, Dennis Rodnick, Shaq, and it peaked Shaq. Like the Hakim, the standard of how hard they were going. They had, they filter them out. Now it's all smaller ball, you know, shots, three points. It's a Steph Curry.
Starting point is 01:32:26 He was saying if Prime AI played now, he would score a thousand points. He's 70 points again. Because of how like guys are giving him distance and you can just lob it up or drive. And so that's the Steph Curry effect. He changed the game forever. No, he's sick as fuck.
Starting point is 01:32:40 He's the best. I mean, now kids want to shoot threes instead of, you know, driving to the hole, driving the paint, playing good D. They want to shoot threes instead of you know driving to the hole driving the paint playing good D They won't shoot threes. I saw this video of Michelle Pfeiffer as batwoman. It was off the earth the best it was the best but it was all it was like a like a it wasn't a scene from the movie, but it was like a Onset kind of filming and she has a scene in the movie where she has to whip. Oh, it's the mannequin show right as a head fuck, okay, and to whip off. Oh, it's the mannequin show. Right. The heads.
Starting point is 01:33:05 Okay. And the, the cameraman, the gaffers, she literally whips from a distance. It was good distance of 10 yards. It's like six. Swash, and she, she whips the heads off from it. And she's really doing it, right? And they go and cut.
Starting point is 01:33:20 And the, the cameraman and the guy and the director like she's fucking fist pumping like Kurt Gibson. And I immediately, I was like, man, they would, in a Marvel movie nowadays or DC movie, they would just put it in computer and forget about it. But the standards were so high back then because of that. But to your point too, the standards in entertainment back then were so high.
Starting point is 01:33:40 Because there was how many TV networks to get on and- Three big networks and then you had the the ballsy ass HBO's Comedy Central's who are back then going like South Park okay good as sure but Jackass was on MTV with children watching they were doing poo poo platter and I just think about the other day how like kids entertainment is what it is today in 1990 I remember in 1998 because I didn't know them. We weren't boys. I'm not trying to like Name drop, but I was friends with guys in bands who were very close with guys in corn because they grew up in Bakersfield And as their career was going like early 90s
Starting point is 01:34:21 They came down to LA a lot to play and there was a lot of like word about these these guys are really different, like really downtuned bass that it's almost sounds like a drum and it's like a kind of a rap thing. They're fucking really cool. But they were tweakers from Bakersfield. Yeah, like hard ass tweakers from like literal and I'm watching MTV and Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears being interviewed by Carson Daly on Tierra. And then they're like, oh, I'm so excited, Carson. Okay, let's bring on Korn.
Starting point is 01:34:50 And here come tweakers from Bakersfield. They're like, hey man, what's up? I'm like, this was, this life was wild. What a wild fucking world. The talent back then was higher, especially in entertainment. Like now, if you wanna create a show, you just upload to YouTube. If you want to get following, you do something controversial or make fun of more talented
Starting point is 01:35:12 people to get views. And so everybody can do it. And I'm not bitching and moaning. I love kind of- I kind of am. There's a lot of shit out there now. The amazing part of it is like, again, I'm not trying to name drop, but I grew up in, in the Pasadena area and right.
Starting point is 01:35:27 That's where a lot of the West there, bam, had his guys out in Pennsylvania, but a lot of the West coast guys that was in the six to six of San Gabriel Valley around it. And so I'd see it's gay. I would just before Jackass became a thing, the big brother magazine guys who kind of started, they were around in my world. And I went to high school with kids who worked at big brother magazine guys who kind of started, they were around in my world. And I went to high school kids who worked at big brother magazine and stuff like that. And I would see them.
Starting point is 01:35:51 And again, I wasn't in the crew, but I would be around it. What they had to do to make skate parts or film stuff or to have their own magazine, the extent that they had to go to figure out how to get with a publishing company. It'd be passionate. And they had no idea what lighting was, and then they had to film it with a camera, then go back and physically edit it. And it made for the fact that when people actually did it,
Starting point is 01:36:18 it was a different standard. I think it meant more. Different standard. It meant more. And then now you'll see a kid at a skate park on a cell phone, and it's just not like, all right, whatever. At the same time. It's kind of cool.
Starting point is 01:36:27 Cause I also hear Adam and wax poetic about when him and Jimmy wanted to start the man show, like they had to, that was so hard. Like they were walking up hill like this, just the, they had a good idea and they were certainly talented, but what to get to the next level was so almost insurmountable. I do love the fact that if a kid has an idea nowadays, like, okay, can I get a Bluetooth microphone at Best Buy for a hundred bucks and like, and I'll do it.
Starting point is 01:36:55 And I love that. The gatekeepers aren't there. I love that. Yeah, I agree. But at the same time, it also does, let's not kid ourselves, it waters down a lot of stuff. Big time. Even bullshit shit, even shit that was always kind of shitty, you watch Cheers or Friends or Seinfeld.
Starting point is 01:37:12 Seinfeld or like, I was never like, my wife was on Rules of Engagement for a decade, and it's a network sitcom. It's not my edgy, con-ist comedy, but you watched those shows back then. The standard you had to hit with the joke after joke after joke and having clever and character development, that takes a lot.
Starting point is 01:37:33 That's a lot. It's a lot of work. It's a lot of thought. I just think we have too many options now. Like on Netflix, there will be, whether it's a comic drop in a special or some big show or even on Apple, that show's shelf life's like a week, maybe two weeks.
Starting point is 01:37:46 And then we all forget about it. It's like, man, I need more, what's next? It's shitty. Before like everyone would, you would really watch it and it would come out, you know, once a week and you couldn't binge watch it and you just appreciate it more. Well, there was appreciation.
Starting point is 01:37:59 And that's, look, even from the consumer standpoint, if I'm gonna go out of my way to put my fucking bong down and go to Blockbuster and walk around and come to an agreement with my girlfriend and my buddies on what we're going to rent, then take it back to my place and put it into, we're watching. We're paying it to, even if it's shit.
Starting point is 01:38:18 I'm watching that shit. I'm not on my phone. And I saw that Carry On was one of the most watched movies that Netflix Studios has ever made. Like a hundred some million people watched Carry On last year. And I watched it. I love that kid, the main star, and Jason Bateman. I think Jason Bateman is amazing and he deserves all the success in the world. But a hundred million people watched that movie and just like me, as I'm wrapping Christmas gifts, I'm like, yeah, put it on.
Starting point is 01:38:46 You didn't do that in 19. You didn't go like, help me kill time. That wasn't the way you were standing. I'll use it as background noise. Yeah. Oh, I was locked in. Had my stacks locked in. And so there was that appreciation for that.
Starting point is 01:38:59 If you're gonna go to, I only walked out of one movie in my entire life, but if you were gonna go make the effort to go to the movies, it made a difference. And you didn't. Do you still go to the movies now? I do. Do you?
Starting point is 01:39:14 I do. I never go. Mostly. I'm one of those guys, you got kids and some. I mostly go for my daughter. Yeah, that makes sense. I'll go with the kids. So I'll go to like Lilo and Stitch, the live action.
Starting point is 01:39:23 Sick movie. Sick movie. Great movie. We loved it. So good. But the live action. We went to that. Sick movie. Great movie. We loved it. So good. But for the kids. How to Train Your Dragon is sick. Yeah, my little one saw it.
Starting point is 01:39:30 So if it's for the kids, I'll go. But if it's for me, buddy, it's going to take like a Quentin Tarantino move. It's going to take something so massive to get me. Because like Sinners, it was like 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Anything with vampires, I'm fucking in. That checks all the boxes for me all the boxes Haley Seinfeld's in checks all the boxes vampires her I'm fucking in but my wife's like, uh, when's it come out in demand?
Starting point is 01:39:53 Like I don't know. I'll wait. Yeah, and then like the other week my wife's like, oh look what's on like, oh hell Yeah, 28 28 years later. See I I was like I really want to see that. I'm a huge Alex Garland fan. I love Danny Boyle years later, I was like, I really want to see that. I'm a huge Alex Garland fan. I love Danny Boyle. Uh, I think Silly Murphy is one of the greatest leading men out there. He's so talented. And I, all of me went, it'll be on streaming in a month. I just wait.
Starting point is 01:40:14 I'll look at the preview. I'm like, man, I can't wait. But, uh, Kate, uh, once or twice a year, that movie comes along where I'm like, the day it comes out, I'm going to the theater. I'm getting a babysitter. I can't think in the last 10 years. Oppenheimer was for me. I was like, I'm, oh, I waited for that one. I I'm going to the theater. I'm getting a babysitter. I can't think in the last 10 years. Oppenheimer was for me. I was like, I'm, I waited for that one.
Starting point is 01:40:28 I was like, don't spoil it. Christopher Nolan. Don't spoil it. We know the ending. It's like Titanic. Like, don't spoil it. It's like, it's like my dick. Um, uh, but I was like Christopher Nolan movie about John, uh, about
Starting point is 01:40:41 Dr. Oppenheimer and, and the atomic bomb and the Manhattan project. I mean, it was good. Yeah. I was good yeah the pacing was weird but it was a good certainly a good movie yeah it was a good movie but you're right I mean I and I'm a cinephile I really geek out on that shit but here's another problem sports is the only thing where I'm like you know no one's if dude you got to be a fucking sociopath if you're like I'll record the UFC and watch the next day to what or the dodgers game. Like I'm staying up late here in Texas, watching the Dodgers UFC buddy.
Starting point is 01:41:11 I don't miss a fight prelims main card. Everybody knows that's our time. You need food. Yep. Do it. You know, I'm be here. I will, I will make this argument though, specifically with NFL because I was, I was, I grew up my whole life before the Raiders moved away.
Starting point is 01:41:29 I was Raiders season ticket with my family of Raiders season tickets, Dodger season ticket holders still to this day, before I was born, my dad had Dodger Laker season ticket holders and he still holds them big fans, very important to our family and the whole thing. And going to the games is second to none. But when you talk about NFL games or it's like really big college football teams, the Ohio States, fill in the blanks, Alabama's, the stadiums are so fucking packed
Starting point is 01:41:56 and you're usually not seeing very, compared to what TV broadcasting has, it's so high end, I almost prefer not going. The one thing because- Baseball hasn't got there yet. No, baseball's not there yet. But football, you go like, this is such an undertaking. Do I really not want to be on my couch? It's such a hassle, dude. It's such a hassle. But, um, I would say the, the one sport,
Starting point is 01:42:19 since I've had kids that I used to be so balls deep in that I, I do, I can't remember the last time I've watched a full NFL game. Really? Cause my son has travel ball. Yeah. Saturday, Sundays. So I'll catch college football is my favorite college baseball is my favorite. I'll still watch college football. Cause some of the big games be on at night and he didn't have travel ball, but most of the big NFL games are on Sunday, Sunday, Monday. Yeah. He's, if he's in a tournament, I don't see any of it. No, I, I, I kind of don't miss it at all. I kind of actually agree. So soft. I can actually agree. I, the only time I'll ever even really catch games is, is
Starting point is 01:42:51 like super important playoff games that catch my interest or Monday night football games. And that's, and that's periodic. Yeah. Period. Yeah. But the UFC is the one, you know, it's just, that's my shit. We do a great job. We all like this Saturday, like in my, thank God my wife loves UFC. So I'm like Saturday's big international fight, we should like hell yeah. Her parents love it, my kids love it. What do you guys want? Pizza, I order early.
Starting point is 01:43:14 Just like, I'm the psycho, they don't care about the prelims, they only want the main card, but we watch it all, man. Kids can play in the pool. My wife doesn't. Oh, that's a shame. That's the thing where,
Starting point is 01:43:24 because I go, I went in the other room for fucking a month so you could watch Gilmore Girls, you and Magdolia, my daughter. They have so many things where I'm like, fuck this show, but you guys love it, so I'll go deal with it. Yeah. Whenever there's a big fight, they're always very accommodating. They're like, you will go in the bedroom, you have your fun, you know? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:43 But they do not like, they do not. Oh no, my mother-in-law cook a special meal That's how you know, it's a big fight if she's cooking the fucking sopas and all that shit or a pozole Yeah, you know, it's a big fight. I'm sorry Did we got she's making their fucking pozole the red pozole that I love like she fucking she loves Charles Oliver and topier She's like they're fighting like yeah fucking invite, yeah, I got you, but come on over. I, I, um, I also don't watch fights usually with friends or anything, cause I, I'm so done.
Starting point is 01:44:09 I want to hear everything. I ruined MMA for Dr. Drew because I sold it to him. I was pretty, he's like, it's awfully, I mean, it's really rough. And I go, I do, I, but think of it more like a chess match. I mean, it's the highest form because you can do anything. Therefore the defense and the strategy is so high and really think about like the kinetic aspects of it.
Starting point is 01:44:30 And so I'm selling them on it. Right. What fun it's at. We is, is that acoustic Christmas, which was a big festival that our radio station will put on and we're backstage and I'm leading them up. I was like, come on, this is watch where you get to drink and I'm leading him up. I was like, come on, this is watch where he gets a drink and I'm hanging out, got my sparkling water and it culminates with my whole speech
Starting point is 01:44:51 with Noguera versus Frank Mir. Oh, he snapped his fucking arm off. And we're watching. And then actually he's starting to get in because it was such a tactical grip grappling. Yeah, that's great. And he's like, he's like, I'm starting to see. Half court is great.
Starting point is 01:45:04 And then there's a full rotational fracture. And he goes, Oh, Oh, and drew won't watch. Yeah, that'll do it for you. And this is silly on the sports guy. Andrew Siciliano is next to us. He's bitching and moaning at me that this is glorified cock fighting. I was like, you, you were totally.
Starting point is 01:45:19 And I Andrew Siciliano is a great man. It was a great guy. And I was like, well, I'm not going any more arguments. Yeah, it's not being brutal. Yeah Even as a hardcore you watch it. You like you see that stuff like oh my god Frank Mir was doing a breakdown on that camora the on Online and I came across it on like a jujitsu feet and I'm like, nope. No, thank you. I don't need to see that anymore You got anything chin? Yeah, you, want some? How long have we been talking? Show one was two hours.
Starting point is 01:45:49 No, it's like a, an hour 35, an hour 30. I love sweet chin. I love you too, man. Do we have good current events or should we end it? I feel like you want to end it. No, if they're good, I'm down, but it's like, look at this guy chasing the dog. Now. So, I mean, obviously you guys already mentioned John Jones stuff already. But there's video footage of the Albuquerque police that put out their body cam. Again, and I watched all this footage. He's going to get a slap on the wrist.
Starting point is 01:46:15 It's a misdemeanor. It's his word versus hers. The tax, it's very weird. They went into the tax for that stuff. But yeah, that was a huge thing with MMA news. The footage actually came out and he was on the phone saying something about, you know, almost like death threats, but it was in a weird way. It's a long thing, but anyway. So you're saying something regarding John Jones is peculiar. It doesn't make a lot of sense.
Starting point is 01:46:41 I don't buy it. Let's take a little break here. You're probably wondering what's going on with Brendan's brain. He's kind of slow today. His vocabulary is not fantastic as it usually is. He usually sounds like Elon Musk. What's happening? I don't have my magic mind. That's what's up. They're sending it, but there's been a delay. What's up, magic mind? I need magic mind max. Let's do this. You're like, what's magic mind? What's the secret? Well, it's basically a mental performance shot, cheaper than a cup of coffee, great nootropic benefits, invokes a secret? Well, it's basically a mental performance shot cheaper than a cup of coffee. Great nootropic benefits invokes a sense of flow, gives mental clarity, decreases stress, helps you feel present, gets you in flow state,
Starting point is 01:47:11 takes away distractions. Yeah, man. Allows you access your best creative self, allowing you to be calm and chaos. It's fricking magic. Mine. He's seeing my brothers are going to do this and that. It's a long thing. If you guys are interested, the audience. I'm not. It's just all, you know, it's, it's a.
Starting point is 01:47:29 Yeah. It's a shit show. Yeah. And the audience are awful. It's a shit show. You can't really tell what's going on. No, I need subtitles, dude. I watched it this morning. I'm like, oh, this is a shit show. There's department, department Q by the way,
Starting point is 01:47:40 speaking of subtitles, Netflix show department. Department Q sick as fuck, but it's Scottish. So even though they're speaking English, but you got like Peaky Sick as fuck, but it's Scottish, so even though they're speaking English, but you guys are- Oh, like Peaky Blinders, I need subtitles. Dude, Department Q is fucking awesome. Give me Department Q for Dummies, what's the plot? Department Q, Scottish Detective,
Starting point is 01:47:57 Homicide Detectives Investigate, and they start to uncover with investigating the actual protagonist, Cop, the show starts starts with and I'm not giving much away He gets literally shot in the fucking neck and his buddy dies and his other buddies paralyzed but they get attacked a gun now a Gunshot in Scotland's a way bigger deal than in the United States because most criminals don't even have yeah So then investigating what happened to this guy? He off the book starts investigating it himself, and then the people in uniform
Starting point is 01:48:26 and then him in recovery come together to unfold a huge conspiracy on the islands of Scotland, and it's fucking awesome. And it's a series, or? Yep, yep. All right, I'm in. I need a new show. It's so.
Starting point is 01:48:35 So we just got done with Mobland, we got done with friends and, family and friends with John Hamm. John Hamm, yeah, that show. Should we watch that? I haven't watched yet. Oh, buddy. A lot of people say it's good.
Starting point is 01:48:44 So good. A lot of people say it. And Mobland sick, Bob was sick. Maybe when an Audi hatchback, that thing's and no Tom Hardy was so ridiculous, but Tom, but like Tom Hardy's always Tom Hardy is like our Marlon Brando. Like even shit. Tom Hardy's a me. He's a purple on Jitsu. And from what I understand, he's good. From what he is, he's like, he's like, like roles with Dan, her death squad and he's good at jujitsu but I Pierce Brosnan I was I
Starting point is 01:49:12 Completely changed my whole outlook on his sister. He was so how about the grand area? I'm gonna go Helen Mirren sick as hell Helen Mirren. She's fantastic in that she's such cutting that and then in eight and then in 1883 she's like this awesome grandma It's the same role, but you're just cool mirror and sick. Did you watch 18 or 1923 season two? I did not fully watch it. No, I but I'm into 1920 season two's I mean, is it that good? Oh my god It's good. I'm in I attend what he got. Okay, this is uh There's something called the fanatics games. Fucking Justin want a Ferrari.
Starting point is 01:49:50 So that's what I wanted to show you. So Tom Brady won first. So basically it's a game. It's a game competition thing between like, you know, sports athletes, entertainment, celebrities and all that stuff and fans. They all compete. What are they competing? Just different kinds of games, you know, just athletic games. What I, I gotta be honest. If I competed with Tom Brady and even it was fun and then I won, I'd still walk over and be like, you win.
Starting point is 01:50:12 Like, you're Tom Brady. I know I won a Ferrari, but you win. Yeah. So Tom Brady won first place for a million dollars. And then Justin Gaethje, who came in kind of late, but he won this Ferrari, which is a 2025, 296 GTB. Yeah, they're bad ass. They're worth like 300 something thousand. Yeah, they're bad ass. How much could you sell that if Justin gauge, he didn't want to keep? I mean,
Starting point is 01:50:34 I mean, he probably does want to keep it. I would, that's what the specs are on it, but probably, uh, probably 400 something I've been willing to bet. I don't know what the stipulation is if he can sell it right away, but Justin doesn't seem like a Ferrari guy. I feel like he's going to sell it. He's going to sell that. He's a pickup.
Starting point is 01:50:51 She's absolutely a pickup truck guy. Yeah. That's a bad ass whip though. It is cool. It's sick. They're cool. Yeah. Um, this is pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:50:59 Yuri Proshka. He actually had an opportunity to fight for the title. They're off on fights. He's like, I'm trying to finish my, he's going to finish his master's degree. And he actually finished his master's degree. That is fucking amazing. So cool. And now he's like saying he's better to negotiate,
Starting point is 01:51:13 to move on for the next fight. And this is in Russia? Where he's from. I forget, I always keep forgetting like Chechnya or Czech. You know, let's. He's not Czech. A former Soviet. He's like Czech. He's former Soviet. He's like Serbian or something like that.
Starting point is 01:51:27 I always get like the Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia. I always just assume Russia. Always- Yeah, it's Czech Republic. My wife is as well. Hold on. Born in Czechia, there's a difference, right? I don't know, man, this is always confusing for me,
Starting point is 01:51:40 but yeah, so, Czechia. But nationality, Czech. All right. Yes. My wife's dad, who I unfortunately never met, he passed away before we started even dating. He escaped the former Czechoslovakia, like as a boy, like put on, like full on movie shit, like put on costumes and got on a ferry
Starting point is 01:51:59 and pretended to be going to a rugby game and actually went to France and then made his way to the United States. Got the fuck out, good for him. That's crazy. What else you got, Jen? Here's a quick one. tended to be going to a rugby game and actually went to France and then made his way to the United States. Got the fuck out. Good for him. That's crazy. What else you got, Jen?
Starting point is 01:52:08 Here's a quick one. Simone Biles eventually deactivated her ex account because of the whole Riley Gaines issue. Yeah, she fucked up. Yeah. I am not, I don't like to get into this like woke versus MAGA shit, but really I don't know how to even understand the motives with Miss Biles on that one? That doesn't mean it just seemed very, you talk about a woman at the
Starting point is 01:52:28 highest level of competition. Yeah. Why would she be an advocate for like, it didn't make sense. Hey, I, I like my point. I'm starting to think of like, she was, she's a Nike athlete. Yeah. There's no one more woke than Nike. So maybe who knows she gets pressure from that and Nike sure as fuck doesn't realize the
Starting point is 01:52:47 Blowback she's gonna get by taking that dying on that hill and boy did she get lit up Oh big time Riley Gaines is very smart knows what the fuck she's talking and she was like the spokesperson advocate of the anti You know kind of trans athlete and Simone I don't know what the fuck she was thinking. Just be the tiny girl that does back flips. Like that's what, my wife and I were discussing how, especially with like the recent kind of riots
Starting point is 01:53:14 or protests in Los Angeles, you're seeing a lot of celebrities get out there. And I was like, well, what, look, it's America. Say what you want and do your thing. But what's the motive even to get out there and do that? And she's like, I have to. They feel like they do. Well, no, I'd say they have to,
Starting point is 01:53:30 because of the pressure from the studios too. Because how many guys you see on the right talking, I could give you a list of big time celebrities who are on the right that you would have no clue. Absolutely. Because if they come out, their careers are over. But if you push this bullshit woke agenda, you get bigger roles. I talked to one.
Starting point is 01:53:48 I talked to one. It would absolutely remain nameless for that reason. That's unfair to him or her, too, for me. But I talked to one who is like, yeah, I can't publicly be myself. It's insane. But my point more so was like, what is the, does it really give you the buzz that you're looking for? And let me point something out, go down the list. You ever seen Tom Cruise, Tom Hardy, uh, like
Starting point is 01:54:19 let's name like really, do you see them out there doing that maybe there's a connection like But they also go I make movies why people go fuck what I think politically doesn't matter You know, that's what I would think too. I used to I was telling chin before we started I used to host an AM talk radio show and before Trump's and 2016 campaign. I took that opportunity to talk about like weird stereotypes and if they're true or not and like just kind of bullshit because who the fuck wants to listen to me talk about Syria? No. Like what the fuck do I know? Yeah, if Tom Cruise started ranting off about transgender and woke agendas and stuff, I'm like, you better make Mission Impossible nine or where the fuck it is. I don't give a fuck. Yeah, dude. And it's also like, they're like, Oh, Taylor Swift
Starting point is 01:55:06 backed Biden's like, Oh sweetie, you think those idiots are gonna go out and vote? You think that's gonna swing the votes? In fact, it really, and this goes more to like Ms. Kamala Harris's campaign. Shit Joe. They should have no, like anyone who's voting for Kamala Harris is voting for Kamala Harris anyway
Starting point is 01:55:30 do you think it helps or hurts your cause when you have Taylor Swift come out and go like Girl power Kamala. No, it's those people that are on the fence. They were like, oh, okay I was I kind of was the anti Trump because he seems like a jerk and all but now I'm definitely not yeah I know you it's that there's no upside But they do they not understand that all got paid right? Yeah, I know. There's no upside. How do they not understand that? They all got paid to do it. Right! That's insane! That's the biggest blow up in your face. It's like, all right, everybody's for fire. You hear Cardi B went on that whole
Starting point is 01:55:52 rant against Trump being defendant Kamala, and you find out she got paid $10 million to do that? And Beyonce got paid a grip to not perform music. 40 million, she came out waived, and they're like, wait, you're not performing? They did an arena and now she was gonna be there. How is that legal? It's not legal for normal citizens.
Starting point is 01:56:13 But my point, there's so much kind of guard, and obviously there's loopholes, but with like campaign finance, there's so many people that are so strict in guarding that and like motivations from foreign assets and, and non-GMOs like, you know, like politics do as we say, not what we do. Had to pay Beyonce $40 million with obviously it's donor money. So it doesn't make it, but there has to, when you're talking about someone running
Starting point is 01:56:39 for president of the United States, how are we, that does, that seems weird. But there's also, does anyone say, Hey, are we actually getting a profit back on this? How's this? What's the up? How many people are going to vote because Beyonce sugar asked for come on. I'm not a, I'm not a insider, but I will give you my own ex, the little small bit of experience I do have 2016, the fallout of when president Trump became president, people are like, how the fuck did a lot of people, myself president. People are like, how the fuck?
Starting point is 01:57:05 A lot of people, myself included, I was like, I did not see this coming. I did not see him winning. But I will tell you, as I was working an AM political talk radio at the time, Donald Trump put me on hold at KABC in Los Angeles because he was doing small market radio in St. Louis. Not even St. Louis is somewhere in Missouri outside. He was doing a radio station that a thousand people were listening to, probably all blue
Starting point is 01:57:32 collar folks. And he, and I had to wait in LA and I was happy to do it. He's the presidential candidate at that same time we were given absolutely not, Hillary Clinton is not going to waste any time talking on the AMB. She has a vent tonight in Beverly Hills. That's $10,000 a plate. And Katy Perry and he's going to perform in it. And I was like, he's going to win. He's going to, Cal and I would argue all the time. Cause I was telling you, Trump's going to win. Cause I was on the road. I was in Iowa, I was in Texas, I was in Ohio, I was all over the country.
Starting point is 01:58:08 And when you're in LA, Brian was mainly in LA, he was like, there's no way you're in a bubble. Everyone hates Trump and Trump does Trump. And I was telling Brian, like, dude, I'm boots to the ground, dude. I'm telling you, the amount of support he has outside this bullshit city, I haven't seen anything otherwise.
Starting point is 01:58:25 I'm telling you he's going to win. And then when he won, Brian was like, holy fuck. I'm like, it's not because I'm smart, no, I'm talking about, I'm just telling you, I see actual real people that were all about it. But we're in this bubble and it's not real, man. I have to admit, I was absolutely victim to the bubble. I was going into election night
Starting point is 01:58:44 and as it got closer and closer and it started to become more realistic, I was laughing, I was going into election night and as it got closer and closer and it started to become more realistic that I was laughing. I was like, this is because I'm, I know people who are living in Dayton are going to say, shut, that seems too much. There was literally people walking down the dog, walking their dog in Venice, crying in 2016 on election. Literally people like a couple people that are dude. I saw numerous people walking, crying when Donald Trump and I'm just laughing. I was laughing my ass off.
Starting point is 01:59:13 And those people are still crying. They think Trump's the, you know, the enemy and you know, it's people are into, is that it Chin? You good? Unless you had some good dude. This one is okay. I'll just show you this. This was kind of shocking to me. Is that it, Chin? You good? Unless you got something good, dude. This one is, okay, I'll just show you this. This was kind of shocking to me.
Starting point is 01:59:29 So there was a music festival in France, and over 145, it was like close to 150 people were stabbed with syringes. Would they have booster shots in it? So they're still doing toxicology reports, so there's nothing. Ah, come on. Grand slam.
Starting point is 01:59:42 I didn't even catch it, I just kept talking. Yeah, you skimmed right past it. So not booster. Well done. My bad. But I thought you catch it. I was just kept talking. Yeah. My bad. Uh, but I thought you were going to say, is it like, you know, date, rape, drug stuff? No, no, that's too easy. No. So, but that might, that's what they're thinking it is. And there was 12 people that are arrested. But even if you're giving out tape, right? No, no, there's five, they're stabbing him. I know. And then you're like, what was the plan there? Fellas. They may think this through. I got to say stabbing 145 people with date rape and just hoping they pass out. Nobody sees it.
Starting point is 02:00:08 It was an old dude. They're all women. Yes. All women. And some of them were underage girls too. I'm all, so they're probably gonna wait for them to like get drowsy and then they'll probably grab them. That's what I'm thinking. I'm a, I'm a, I'm a gun owner.
Starting point is 02:00:19 Yeah. I'm not like Ted Nugent, but I'm a gun owner. And I am a proud American. I'm very proud to be an American and I'm very patriotic. And I, but I'm a gun owner and I'm a proud American, I'm very proud to be an American and I'm very patriotic and I defend the idea of, but I'm not like a gun nut or anything. But I will say, when your country has really bad people and they don't have guns, you get shit like this,
Starting point is 02:00:37 which might be worse. This is science fiction gross. I don't know, we get mass shootings. If you had a black mirror. We get mass shootings. No, listen, Chicago and like fucking Walter and St. Louis alone is insane that people are killing each other. Like I'm not trying to say guns aren't of initiative. Don't mishear me on this, but when there's no guns, when violence
Starting point is 02:00:58 happens without guns, then you go, they, people resort to what crazy stuff like barbarian acid attacks, hammers, what the fuck. If you made black mirror a decade ago of we're going to a festival concert, you know, Coachella in France and there's going to be a gang of people inject secretly injecting people with drugs. You'd be like, well, that's a little farfetched, but yeah, watch it. It's insane. Well, that's dark shit. Let's end it on this thing. Cause we all have tattoos and there's this guy and I guess this is in Canada. Uh, I'll just play the clip for you.
Starting point is 02:01:39 Cause that's cause there's a handle. What would your family and friends say when you come home with a full arm sleeve and a full leg sleeve and just a couple of days, they're going to because there's a handle. I'm pumping it out full arm. This was done in one session. This is our first day together now He came in from Houston. He wanted to bang the shit out He fucking came with a Bitcoin ready to go and he wanted to do a painless He paid a shit to arms already done day two. We're getting the leg done. We're gonna get an epidural in He's not gonna feel anything from his tits down to his toes. That's weak I hate when guys do a better in at his job getting him numb each so that's basically it
Starting point is 02:02:24 There's like, you know, multiple people doing the I got to earn the tattoo that for girls are such bitches. So if you see the comment with this girl, I thought this is who changes tampon every four hours. Yeah. So you guys, if you had the money, would you do it or not? I would do it. My boy Travis Barker had because you want a back piece. He had two artists working at the same time.
Starting point is 02:02:42 He didn't do it for girls like you got. That's amazing. Working on that is amazing, like a team same time. He didn't do Epic Girls. Like you got a whole team working on you. That is amazing, like a team of artists. And that artwork was beautiful. I was really, he was so good. Think about the continuity of how it all flows together, seamlessly. So good, so fucking good.
Starting point is 02:02:54 He was so rich. By the way, tattoos are so hard. They hurt so bad. This one's a cover-up. I did one on my own, and I'm right-handed. And I tried to draw my dogs. That was gonna be sad. Draw my dogs. It didn't come out uh, it didn't come out well, but she still had that. That's a fun story.
Starting point is 02:03:08 I mean, I do technically. You can't see. Yeah. Were those are some of the days where things were a little foggy? No, ironically, I was, I was sober. I was sober for like a decade at that point. This is last month. He was on the farm.
Starting point is 02:03:22 He's like, I got ran by the goat. And next thing you know, I have, this is my friend Ryan J. So as a fat Minotaur, that's all. And this, this tattoo happened because we were at lunch or I was on millrose avenue and we got to, I was making fun of him being fat because he has like long hair. He's like a club, like a club promoter guy. It was like the dress is like a ninja, but he had like the long hair and shit. And I was making fun of him being fat, and just busting balls. And then it got in turn, I was like,
Starting point is 02:03:52 you should try to get horse legs so that you're discussing human body, like a Minotaur. And someone else there said, that'd be a funny tattoo. I said, I'll get it if you pay for it. And we walked across the street. I got a safe. He's like, save us, dog. Love it. Well, Mike, appreciate your brother. We did it again. Yes, sir.
