Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey everyone and welcome to the flop house. I'm Dan McCoy. I'm Stuart Wellington. And I'm Elliott Kaelin. Dan, what are we doing today on the flop house? Well, the number of episodes of the flop house are ones where we talk about a bad movie. But the other ones, the mini sode which also have numbers, you're're right the ones with bigger numbers because we've been doing them longer hold on let me start over again So the ones that with the ones labeled fh minny which stands for Flows the ones with big numbers like the unfinished Alan Moore Billson cabbage mini series of the same name that one is Those are the movie ones and the ones with little numbers like the never even conceived out of more Bill Sinkiewicz mini series. The same name, those are the minis. What do we do on the minis, Dan? Yeah. And we, when you get
Starting point is 00:00:52 into little murderous, you're talking Jules Feiffer. Um, on the mini soads, uh, there are many of them now and there are theoretically smaller, although not frequently. The only thing that makes the only thing that makes the mini smaller is the extreme epic length of our normal episode. And the numbers. So we've already addressed those numbers. On these mini-sodes, we usually sort of take turns driving these with different ideas. And what I'm bringing to the table tonight boys. Yep.
Starting point is 00:01:25 As you know, hot to her fresh. Sounds like goulash to me. Stewart you delicious. Now I know your new breast friend, of course, is the Dal Megan. Oh yeah, from the film Megan. She's never gonna leave me. Yeah. And Megan is tearing up the box office. Everyone loves this dance in spooky doll that murders. Yeah. And of course, when you talk about a dancing spooky murder and doll like Megan, you know that she's part of a story tradition of other films. And I'm not talking about movies about evil dolls or even movies about evil robots. I'm talking about movies where numerals replace the letter in the title.
Starting point is 00:02:11 So the movie versions of the TV show number three years. For instance, exactly. And so what I wanted you boys is to go through a list of films I've compiled with a number in the title like Rocky for and I'm going to talk. Well, no, no, I will a number a number a new world that replaces a letter. Okay. I cast a wide net. So why are you those two? You'll hear some examples later on when we get to the actual examples. Okay. But right now, so like saw for, well, one would be Megan say, okay, where the three of of Megan is the E of Megan. I want that to be, I want that
Starting point is 00:02:53 to be that's what's carved on your tombstone, and the three of Megan is the E of Megan. And it just says a Zen proverb. Because I love watching you start that sentence the opposite of the way you intended and then have you kind of to a cater to get the direction you wanted to go with nothing but complete confidence finish the sentence anyway. Yeah, I'm that's the kind of sentence you see at the beginning of an episode of a wire. And you'd be like, they're quoting their own characters at the top of the episode. This is the most pretentiously in the show can do. But there's always that little girl when the character says the line and you're like, that's what he said at the beginning of the episode.
Starting point is 00:03:38 It still works. Yeah, it still works. Great show. Great show. Yeah, so as you may have noticed, if you read Western characters, the like the rainbow kid. Yeah, the capital E looks like the numeral three only in reverse. So obviously the designers, the clever designers of Megan thought of this too and they put a three in there, which is two Megan's credit that is actually addressed in the film. It's canonical that there's
Starting point is 00:04:11 a three in Megan's name. It's not just for the title, but anyway. So other movies like this, Casta White Net, people can argue whether some of these canonically have a number in the title or not. net people can argue whether some of these can not actually have a number in the title or not. Okay. But I'm less interested in what the, quote, unquote, official title of the movies are than whether any poster advertising at any point had a new role replacing a letter.
Starting point is 00:04:36 So what you're telling me, the note behind the note here is that you're not afraid of controversy. Yeah. And so how this is going to work out, we're going to, we are going to tonight decide which is the top number titled movie. Okay. After we discuss each of them, I'm going to ask you to rank each of these movies one out of ten and two categories. One. One. This is conceptual. Do I need a 20-sided die for this? Yes. How complicated is this game?
Starting point is 00:05:07 You'll be playing our mage and Stewart is of course our ranger. Yeah One the overall quality. I get to have a spell is a treat and two How successful you think the number replacement is in the title. Okay. Now, here's some possible criteria. I don't want to tell you, I mean, you can have your own personal one. Does it work visually? Does it make sense?
Starting point is 00:05:32 Does it sound good? Does it sound good? Is the choice to use numbers for letters motivated by anything like, say, in Megan, where there's a reason why there's a number there? Any criteria you want, those are a few suggestions. Okay. And one last quick word for a very long wind up. I'm semi-arbitrarily eliminating movies where two
Starting point is 00:05:54 is used print styles or replacement for the word two because I don't think it's in the spirit of the exercise. That you invented. That's right. Well, in this, I know, yeah, it's fair in this instance, where the numbers are replacing letters visually and not just hominem, not just and not just and not just hallways. Sound alike. Okay. So that's no step up to the streets. That's no too fast. No jungle jungle. Okay. Back to the hood. None of that. Yeah, you're right. No, don't juggle to juggle. Okay. Well, but what if it was called jungle of three to jungle? Yeah. And there's a three instead
Starting point is 00:06:30 of that. First, they are alternately jungle to jungle three. And there's a three in the last one, or I'll give you a third option, jungle three to jungle three. You would be okay with that. That would include. Yeah. So that was, that sounded like you were explaining some sort of old phone free. That's when you blow on the, on the Captain Crunch whistle and you get a free call. Only to sing a poor you can't call anywhere else. So I'm gonna connect and jump. Okay, so starting off, we've talked about it already. You just got to start off with Megan M3GAN,
Starting point is 00:07:07 a little discussion and then some ratings. What do you guys do? What are the two categories of you? Elliot, I presume you haven't seen it yet. Yeah, I haven't seen Megan, so I can't really talk about the full appropriateness. All right, you know what? Is it because you don't like women or gay people?
Starting point is 00:07:26 You know, yeah. I mean, I'm sure you could, you could read that into my actions, but I would say a better explanation would be that I've just been very busy and I have not been able to go to the theaters. You know what? I'm going to change, I'm going to change this exercise in midstream. Oh good, because we barely just did it. For two reasons.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Now wait, is this to the number two or is it the word T? The question, the two, the two, the two, the two, the two. I've already forgotten the two. No, I'm going to change it because number one, as you have shown, you probably haven't seen a lot of these movies. And that was something that I really should have anticipated. Don't judge me. It's possible for me to see them.
Starting point is 00:08:08 And number two, if we do the quality thing, I feel like there's a couple films out here that we'll just dominate and quality over. Like, it might surprise you learn that this is a trick that mostly not so great movies. Oh, weird. Yeah, it's strange how usually movies quality movies don't have to do title gimmicks to get you through the door. So I'm gonna change it up.
Starting point is 00:08:31 You only have to give one score one to 10, totally title based. I'm giving two scores to now on. Which is better, a 10 or a one. That's very good question, very good question. I wanna make, let's make it easier on myself. Well, I mean, it's pretty easy, either way, but let's, 10 is the top. 10 is top, okay. Okay, now I will say this.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Megan, haven't seen the movie, can't judge the movie. It's not for the reason that Stuart mentioned. It is merely because I've been very busy and have not gotten to the theaters, but I think it looks great in the title. She's a robot. Why not put a number in there? I don't know if the twist is that there's three of her, but go ahead, go for it, you know, I like it. I think it works and it means people can say, Mothrigan or M-thrigan or just any sort of thing like that, which
Starting point is 00:09:15 I'm totally okay with. So I give it a 10 out of 10. Let me say 10 out of 10. Yeah, I was going to say nine out of 10 for the title. Yeah. No, it's great. It's a real fun time in the movies. Highly recommend. Yeah, I'm looking forward to maybe a sequel where they swap out the A for a four, but you know, who knows? No, they're an at symbol or an at symbol. Yeah, that's true. Now she's a future of future. Now she's a creature of pure virtuosity. She only exists true on the online world, yeah. In the same way.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Now, I want to, you know, name spoilers. I just want to, I looked it up. Megan stands for, you got this model three, generative and droid. So the A N both come from Android. Yeah, but you know, they, you know, they just made that up to fit Megan. Megan, it's not exactly, it's not like Jack but you know, they, you know, they just made that up to fit Megan. Megan. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:10:07 It's not like Jack Kirby was like, oh, strategic hazard, initiative enforcement. Hey, that sounds like shields. That's pretty good. You know, it came up with shield and they just filled in some letters. What about Modoc? Well, that's the thing with Modoc. Because they could have gone either way. He might have said, I like the sound Modoc, or he might have said, this is a mental organism
Starting point is 00:10:23 designed only for killing. No, you know what? Yeah. Then he would be Modok if he was just going by that. I guess he's silent. It shouldn't be Modok. Okay. So yeah, I feel like Megan is looking pretty good right now.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Yeah, Megan's high school or top of the box office. Yeah, right now, top of the box. Well, not top. It is the top of the box office. No, it's still underneath, uh, avatar way of water. Yeah. And I'll say avatar way of water, a movie that I haven't heard many people talking about recently, still burning up the charts though.
Starting point is 00:10:52 It's, it's, it's, it's going to, it's passing Spider-Man No Way Home is the sixth, what, biggest movie ever. So Cameron, you've moved me wrong again. I said, you couldn't make a movie out of true lies and you did it. And now I said, this one wasn't going to be as big a success than it was. You know, it was, was, is based what on what a Kipling novel? Yeah, yeah, it's, it's, it's merely as racist as a Kipling novel, but it's, it's loosely based. Yeah. I was, I was never the doubter that you were, but I will say that avatar, I think, has
Starting point is 00:11:22 really benefited from the fact that like, because the pandemic, they're not throwing as many big movies at the screen as they used to all once around the holidays. It is very much benefiting. I feel like from the general dissolving and collapse of the motion picture and television industry and that it's out and people are like, yeah, and that it's a thing that can be seen in theater. And that it's a thing that's what and and I'm sure he'll say and that it's a thing that can be seen in theater. And that it's a thing that's what, and, and I'm sure he'll say this, like, it's a thing that, see in the theater, I haven't seen it, but I know that seeing the theaters is
Starting point is 00:11:50 going to be a different experience than watching television, you know, or unlike your phone or something while you're taking like a three hour long shit. Well, I mean, at that point, you got to talk to your doctor because if you, if you can watch all of avatars the way of water while you're, well, it's just a constant poop stream than something's wrong either either your your your your intestines have become like a constant poop stream that's from peepee lang anyway these are the jokes my children would love if they knew who Katie Lang was and the sit-out Sammy I need to give you some backstory for the first let me tell you about a trailblazing lesbian performer. Anyway, now that I've
Starting point is 00:12:27 done that, listen to this. Constable. You know, that new P joke you've been looking for. Well, listen to this. But I think I think either you're eating too much fiber or perhaps there's a portal in your intestines that is allowing an alien species to ram its waste out of your system. Either way, you want to get a looked at by a licensed professional. Okay. Well, that's Megan for you now. I think we covered Megan. Number two, probably the most famous example of this, the first one that I remember, of
Starting point is 00:13:04 course, is seven. Yes. I think seven would be your seven. Glad we're getting it out of the way early. Is the seven of the titles. So it's like it's actually saying 77 or seven. Yes, the seven and that's why I'm going to give it a one for title.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Wow. Wow. I've never liked that seven in there. It doesn't sound right. It doesn't look right. It really bugs me. It's already called seven. If you're gonna call that way, just name it the number seven.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Just use the numeral and not have a full title. Was that the June Cherry movie? No, that's a number 20. It does number 23. Yeah, but why not just call it seven, the number. That would really stick out. And it might be the top of the listings of movie titles, pretty much.
Starting point is 00:13:50 It kind of looks like the seven replaces a V. So it looks like the V is just kind of off kilter, right? And the credits are backwards dudes. So I feel like this whole movie is just a little bit twisted if you know what I mean. It is pretty twisted. It really represents pinch. Kevin Spacey is off-kilter twisted view of the world. He's got a side view of reality. That's a little bit different. And this is going to be controversial. I think seven, it's a quality movie. I've never really liked it very much. So I'm torn between giving it like a four
Starting point is 00:14:25 and giving it an eight, basically for quality. It just doesn't do it for me. Two gram, two gram. By the time it's over, I'm like, yeah, I did, I did just slog through miles of, I don't know what kind of foul experiment to get out of this prison, Shawshank. You know what? The experience is over. Allian, at the risk of diluting the hate mate male that you are going to get, I feel much the same way about seven. A part of it is like a lot of the impact has been diluted by the bad seven imitators, but also even at the time when I saw it, I'm like, this is a little too grim for me. Like I like other David Fincher movies a lot more.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Oh, and there's a Kim, when you compare it to, I mean, I love Zodiac. I think Zodiac is such an amazing movie. Oh, yeah. When a, when you compare it to, I mean, I love zodiac. I think zodiac is such an amazing move. Oh, yeah. When you love his best movie that he ever made and, uh, I'm saying, I'm saying, it's, it, they're not exactly the same thing, but, well, maybe it's that he needed to make seven before he could make zodiac. He had to crawl before he could walk or walk before he could fly. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:19 The thing is like, I like, I like the paperback thrillers that he has made since seven. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Panic rooms, a lot of fun, the game, like the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon,
Starting point is 00:15:36 the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon,
Starting point is 00:15:44 the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, the Golden Dragon, Maybe it's also the fact that we were all around the same age when Seven came out. And I don't know of you, but I was surrounded by guys my age who thought Seven was just the most amazing movie ever made until Fight Club came out. And then they thought that was the most amazing movie ever made until Magnolia came out. And then they thought that was the most amazing movie ever. And it was like, I think it just got hyped up a little too much. And these are all movies that I have in choice. I mean, not terrible movies.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah, but it's just movies when it's the- It's a very specific snapshot of a specific type of movie watching, dude. Yes, yeah. I feel like it was the only, it was only the, it's only the lack of the, of social media at the time that stopped those movies from becoming like the Rick and Morty of movies where people just went to an extreme of let's call it reckless behavior in their love of the product. But yeah, in a different, yeah, in a different world, if you go into any New York city weed
Starting point is 00:16:39 boh de gage, it would be filled with like drawings of the characters of seven and shit just hanging out smoking weed. Yeah, and there's just there's a strain called like crotch, crotch knife or something like that, you know. Okay, so now let's move on to. I think here, wait, let me just say the one thing, the one thing about seven that I always got to me is how the heroes run out of clues so the bad guy just shows up. And it was like movie, did you run out of ideas?
Starting point is 00:17:03 Did you not want to do the hard part of having to figure out how the detectives would solve the case? Stuart, you haven't given seven an official number that I recall. Oh, yeah, I think it's pretty clear. I'm giving it a seven. Oh, okay. Oh, man. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:18 He did it. Okay, so moving on to the next movie. Now, you're multiplying the number in the title by the number that we give it to get the ultimate score, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, those are the secret hidden scores that unlock the ARG. That's based on this game. If that guy from the second episode of the rehearsal would listen to this episode, his head
Starting point is 00:17:42 would explode. Okay, well, this movie is a little movie called, her soul would listen to this episode his head would explode. Okay, well this this movie is a movie called 13 ghosts or 13 in ghosts. T H I R one three E N ghosts. Yeah, what's in, you know what, Dan, I got IOS 7 in apology because that actually works much worse than sevens logo. Yeah, you always have the numeral zero to go for unfair. No, I think it is, I think it is perfectly fitting with the like super hammy goofy source material, thumbs up to 13 ghosts, thumbs up Jeffrey Abraham's amazing performance.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Yeah, great movie. It's a fun one. It's, you know, what's that? What was that ghost house with like where the idea was originally like, we're just going to make it, remake a bunch of William Castle movies. Yeah. Make them also silly. That's fun. Yeah, that was the main thing.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Was that dark castle productions? Which one was it? Oh, yeah, dark castle. That was what it was. Yeah. And they did that. I also did a couple others, right? I mean, on one level, it's the same old recycling of IP that destroys everything eventually.
Starting point is 00:19:06 On another level, it's at least IP that no one would have thought otherwise to recycle. Well, that's the thing. I've always felt that it doesn't really accept in a few circumstances where you've made a new version of something that's really cool. It doesn't really make sense to remake a good movie, but why not remake a bad movie? Remake William Castle, go for it. Like, that sounds like a great idea. They can't, you can't get worse, you know, at worst it's going to be level with the old one.
Starting point is 00:19:33 You know, if they announced tomorrow they're like, oh, we're going in big on the tingler cinematic universe, I'd be like, go for it, try it out. Yeah, see if you can do it, man. If you can, more power to you. Yeah, come on. Elliot, what number are you going to give 13 goes? I mean, I mean, can I give the title a negative number? It's just so unfeeling. It doesn't really look like the numbers that it's replacing particular. I guess three looks like an E as we've established the Megan and the movie. I know I saw it, but I barely remember it. So I guess I'm going to give it a 10.
Starting point is 00:20:09 It's a glass house that's like a puzzle box. Oh, right. That's right. It's like a real super modern house, right? Yeah. And Matthew Lillers in it. Yeah. But it's not glass house with Lili Sobiuski.
Starting point is 00:20:21 That was her. No, it's a different one. It's not with Lili Sobiuski. And it's not the glass castle, the harrowing memoir about growing up the children of abusive, well, abusive somewhat parents, yeah. I guess I'll call them abusive, sure. Anyway, it's not the glass castle. Okay, well, if you disagree with Elliot on whether or not the parents were abusive, you
Starting point is 00:20:40 write into the floor. I mean, clearly, they were traumatized, the children. Well, is it the glass manager? Is that that one? It is. Yeah. I put you down for negative one. Okay, negative one. Yeah, I guess I'll give, I'll give it an eight. And eight. Okay, there you go. The very scientific experiment that we're engaged in, it'll be back in a moment. But before that, I'm going to take the break here, actually, even though I've got more movies on the other side because we had a long wind up, and that was because of me. And we have ads. That's what I'm trying
Starting point is 00:21:19 to say. This is the theme of this episode is long wind ups. I can. I had it open in another tab. And yet it took me that long. It's a hand. Are you trying to keep the mini going longer? Because you need the F.D. I need to trace the call to us. Yeah, I don't want to. It will tell me where you live. Keep on.
Starting point is 00:21:40 I like. Yeah, I like to keep a keep a low error mystery. This show is sponsored in part by Lumilabs. Micro dosing, you've probably heard of it. If not just know that all sorts of people are micro dosing daily to feel healthier and perform better, um, sometimes maybe even it might help to think up premises based on numbers in movie titles. Oh, what a peak behind the curtain at Dan's play. I'm not a facet. For sure. I'm just saying that that could be one of the side effects.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Talking points. Well, one of them has you could tell Dan is not just the loomie labs, ad man, but also a user. Starting point is 00:25:00 So this jumbo tron message is for Lucy, Mary, and Pippin. And the message is from Ben and Chip. And the message says, happy parentheses late. Birthday, I'm so lucky to have a big sister that I genuinely love to hang out with. You have always been one of the coolest people I know, and I have you to thank for my great taste in music, movies, and podcasts.
Starting point is 00:25:18 To show how much I appreciate you, I bought this podcast episode like you would a star. Now we each have our own. Oh, that's very sweet. That's a real great message. Happy Labor Day from us to and if you would like a message of your own on a fly pass episode, why not considering buying a jumbo-tron message? Just go to why not considering that indeed. I just want everybody to know, hey, maniac of New York, don't call it a comeback. Number one, the latest first issue in the latest season, let's call it a maniac of New York, my comic book series. It's in stores right now.
Starting point is 00:26:17 If it didn't sell out last week when it came out, go to your store, say, do you still have copies of maniac of New York? Don't call it a comeback. Number one, if they say no, we don't then tell them. So I am your fist onto the counter. Knock aside the stack of other comics. Just do that. Just if you see a pile of hero clicks, you push it aside and you say,
Starting point is 00:26:37 Hey, get me a copy of that book. Get it for me. Now, the issues are going to be really, is the four issue series. It's going to be released not quite monthly, maybe a month and a half least schedule. If we can't meet that schedule, because everyone knows after shot comics, we've been having a little bit of problems lately. If we can't meet that schedule, it may take a little longer, but stick with us and bear with us, because this series will be released. Me and the artist, Andre Moody, we're very excited about it. And we just want to make sure it gets into your greedy hands. By greedy, I mean greedy for thrills, chills, and satire.
Starting point is 00:27:07 So that's maniac from New York. Don't call it a comeback. Number one, first issue is out now. More issues to come. It's exciting. Guys, that's the end of my unpaid for ad. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, Oh my god. It's running away. I see the dollars slipping through my fingers. Like Sans can be our last, you know. Parentane, it's hard, but don't worry, you're not alone.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Belly up to the low bar with one bad mother and let us remind you that fine is good enough. They want to climb on different things. And how am I supposed to keep them both from dying? There is a right way to do this. And if I can figure out that right way, I'm going to be a good parent. So that is not a thing. So join us each week and let us tell you that you are doing a good job. You can listen to One Bad Mother on Maximum Fun or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:28:08 This week on Bullseye Tom Hanks, as you've never heard him before. Mad, you moron. Thank you for the use of the turn signal. Way to use your blinker. Idiot. That's Bullseye for Maximumfund.org and NPR. And I just wanted to also mention that the Flapp House will be returning to the live stages, at least the stages of the Bell House in Brooklyn, New York, our most frequently played venue,
Starting point is 00:28:39 because two of us live in Brooklyn still. On April the second we are looking into touring more to other cities later in the year as well as doing a couple of streaming shows again. People really seem to like them so we don't want to stop them just because people are coming out to more live events as well. But for now the only live event where you can see our faces in person will be at the bellhouse on April the second that is a Sunday at the most convenient time to have for a show, you know, with Monday coming up hot on its heels, but that is what we could work out because Elliott happens to be in town. And we are happy to have it. I think personally, you know, on Sunday, it's nice to have something to do because then it feels like you're cheating the week, you know, you're not letting the weekend in.
Starting point is 00:29:40 And you're getting something in there before the weekend is over. But that's just me. The cost will be 20 bucks. You can get tickets through the Bellhouse site. If you go to our Flophouse site, FlophousePodcast.com, we'll have it up there as well. And yeah, we're not exactly sure what movie we're going to do right now. We're doing a Twitter poll to see we're going to do an older one. It's either going to be hackers battlefield earth or Willow. When I last checked battlefield earth was a little ahead, but hackers was very close. I don't know where we're gonna land. Anyway, we're excited to do that.
Starting point is 00:30:30 We hope to see you there. Let's move on to the next movie. The next movie ever made? Well, now we're gonna, we're gonna go into like a mini subsection of this mini, which is three movies in a row that are all sequels that you know are working the the sequel number
Starting point is 00:30:54 into the the title so Okay, number one in this of course. We got Scream 4 where the a and Scream is replaced with a 4. Got it. Yeah, that is the Scream with Emma Roberts in it. We've got taken 3 with the, again, the E is replacing the, is replaced by a 3. Emma Roberts also in that one.
Starting point is 00:31:23 I believe that Liam Neeson is returning and the role of the guy who's mad about things being taken. I believe it's Lee Forum No. 3, 3, so it's like. And then we've got final destination or five and all destination, which when written out, looks more like anal destination. It got to be honest. A movie that would do great at the box office. God, I'm not admitted.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yeah. So in that case, this is one case where it's not really a visual sort of replacement. It's five andin-all. So they're leaning in, I guess, to people's tendency to make a joke out of saying the number. Now, here's the problem. Is it sounds like fival destination? This is finally the movie where fival gets killed in the American tail series.
Starting point is 00:32:17 And you don't want to tell, you don't want to put an adorable little mouse getting murdered into the minds of your audience. I thought, but by the time he dies, he's become like kinda bitter and twisted by age. Well, yeah, that's the, it's true. It takes place much later and like many immigrants, he has now become anti-immigrant himself because he sees it as a zero-sum game. And so he's now an old man, he runs a store,
Starting point is 00:32:42 and he's like, oh, oh, they shouldn't let him in. They don't understand America, what for? And his grand chosen are like, grand dad, grand dad, tell us the story how you came to America and he goes, I always lived here. He's very mad about you. Kids don't understand. Oh, fine. What happened to you?
Starting point is 00:32:57 Yeah, it sounds horrible. Yeah, I don't want to watch that movie. So damn much. Can you bring me back to anal destination, please. The number of times I've said bring me back to anal destination. To a genie who has shown you a harm of the future that you wish you had wished about. Yeah, yeah, Dan just watch Wishmaster. He knows all about that. I did just watch which watch.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Which watch? watch master. Wishmaster I was I was texting Stu about it while I was watching it because I knew that he had just watched it for our friend Jim's podcast. What's the name of it? I was slipping my mind right now. This may hurt a bit. Yeah., yep, what is it? And so I saw that he was on the Wishmaster episode. I'm like, well, now this gives me something to text you about. And I was like, this is, because you needed a reason.
Starting point is 00:33:53 You need a reason. Otherwise, you know, like this is how friendship works. You just need to, a series of excuses to interact. Wishmaster's really like glue holding this bond together. Yeah. But the genius that will be really plays fast and lose with What constitutes a wish like you'll be like? You like it if this thing happened and they're like yeah, I guess it was like
Starting point is 00:34:20 Anyway, so let's just lightning round Scream for taking, five in all destination. All right, give me three numbers. Yeah, no, it's funny. It's when you first announced this, I thought there are going to be three movies in the same series, not three. Totally a different movies.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Scream with the four in for the A. I'm going to give that a low grade, taken for the three for the E. Yes, high grade three plays E's almost always works in my book unless it's a one and I'm going to put a seven and five in all destination. I'm going to get out of 10 for sheer hoots. But it is such a it's like, yeah, five starts with F I final starts with that. What does it do? And that's the one that has the best sequence of any final destination
Starting point is 00:35:05 movie, right? In the gymnasium. Uh, you, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the The one where Courtney Cox has the most tragic bangs ever committed to fiddle. Is that I-3?
Starting point is 00:35:27 Yeah, that's 3. They're incredible. It's amazing. That was on the tagline for the poster it says. You'll never get a load of these bangs. You'll never believe these bangs. It's wild. They're wild.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Miss bangs bangs. Yeah. That was the New York post headline that you pitched on the release of that movie. Oh, man. So scream for fairly straightforward. I will give that a five. Taken three. I'm going to give that a two just because of the three franchises listed.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Taken is the worst one. And fine. Yeah. Five no destination is that's a 10, 10 out of 10. Okay. Okay. So now we're going to go to a controversial one. This is a fantastic fourth. The Josh Trank Fantastic Four has the a in the middle of Fantastic is the four. And then there's no other four on the poster. So the title is on the poster. Fan for Fantastic.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Is it fan for, was it for foreign Fantastic? Oh, it's the second A. No, no, it's Fant for Fantastic. Oh, sorry. That's it's the second A. Okay, Fant for Fantastic. Yeah. So, wow, we did that one for the podcast. Yeah, I'm going to
Starting point is 00:36:48 give the quality of the movie. I'm going to give it a little great. Yeah, we did that one for the podcast. It's, uh, it's the movie where it takes them like an hour and a half to get their powers. And then the last half hours them fighting CGI with Dr. Doom and it's, it's, it doesn't really work. But I'm gonna, so the movie quality, I'm gonna give it like a two. For the title, Fant-Fortastic, and there's no four afterwards, right? No, there's no second four to finish it off. Fantastic. Yeah, and it's, so I'm gonna give it a two, because a lot of people, they're just not that familiar with the Fantastic Four.
Starting point is 00:37:25 They're the cornerstone of the Marvel Universe, everything in the house of ideas is built on the foundation of the FF, but people don't know them. So there are a lot of old people who went in thinking that was a movie version of the Fantastic's, the longest running off Broadway show, and about Star Cross lovers, or are they, that uses only three pieces of props for scenery,
Starting point is 00:37:44 and almost no costumes. It's a beautiful show. But a lot of old people are like, I don't understand. Where's the crescent that takes the place of the moon? That man's all stretchy. Why does that guy have rocks on him when I'm tired? I don't get it. So I feel for those old people.
Starting point is 00:38:00 So I'm going to give it a two. I guess. Okay. Sounds good. Which is only half a four. That is actually true. Stuart, I don't think you gave it a number here. I like the placement in the exact middle of the title, but the fact that you don't have
Starting point is 00:38:15 the entire actual title of the movie anymore doesn't make any sense to me. So a three. Okay. Do you think it would, like, they wouldn't have done four vengiers, right, for, uh, for endgame, that would have been bonkers. That would have been bonkers, yep. Or like a Venge 3 years for Infinity War. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Yeah. Again, I don't know. Maybe, maybe it would have worked, who knows. Yeah. Now we got a, we got a taste to you when coming up, boys. Now this one is, of course. This is Simone or S1. M0. Knee.
Starting point is 00:38:52 So now this is a movie about a simulated actress. And I assumed that Simone, the pun of it was that it was said for simulation one. And that is true. I confirmed that. But that doesn't explain why you would put numbers in that. Well, here's what I like about it is she's just made of ones and zeros. So that's why it's just she's all by and that's right there. On the other hand, it is a weird looking tie. It does look like yeah, that it's it's sun. It looks like the title of like if you download a file on the internet and they didn't bother
Starting point is 00:39:28 giving it like an easy title. Yeah. A non-searchable title. Yeah. I think maybe that's a mistake leading into the streaming world that we now live in is giving your title a non-searchable title. That's a mistake. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Yeah. Like I've told this story before, but when I was looking for images to make a PowerPoint for the Vin Diesel movie Triple X, and I was like googling XXX explosion, and I was seated very close to my computer monitor. It was a little bit surprised by what I found. Yeah. But it's just a little bit. Yeah, just a little. Yeah, it's always just a little.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Um, I'm sure that's how what do you what do we think about S1 M zero? Have either of you seen this movie? I never saw. No,
Starting point is 00:40:23 uh, this is this is this has got Pacino in it, right? That's yes. Yes. I do think I saw this and it's really not much of anything. It's a it's styles itself a little smarter than movies of that kind. I think Andrew Nichol have written it and he's you know, pretty good usually. But what else do he do? It was kind of boring. You get a good. Okay. I think that that's right. That's another one, though, where I think the movie thinks it's smarter than it is. Yeah. No, I, yeah, this is all true.
Starting point is 00:40:53 The things I've been saying. Okay, that's good. I will say I'm going to give this all to. And that was on Budsman, was practically you know. I'm going to go to the show. I'm going to produce the Truman show. I'll give it a guess. That's it.
Starting point is 00:41:04 Okay, you know what? I'm going to go with Stu on this. I'm going to give it, well, maybe I'm going to give it a show. I'll give it a guess. A six. Okay. You know what? I'm going to go with stew on this. I'm going to give it, well, maybe I'm going to give it a five actually because it's, no, wait, or maybe I have a seven. Yeah. Before your own path, buddy. You know what?
Starting point is 00:41:14 I'm vacillating between five and seven. I can't tell if I like it more or less than stewart does. You know what? I'm going to put it as a sixth then. So now we got a real treat, and that treat is the form of cake, a layer cake, in fact. We got L4, your, CAC3, and now I want to make it clear. In the poster, they cheat it. They turn the three around, turn the three around, so it looks more like an E. But it is clearly a three,
Starting point is 00:41:46 especially because there's also, again, that four based on the A. Yeah, I'm that, Dan, that makes me believe, they didn't do it on purpose, and they just ran out of A's and E's at the printing shop. They had to use fours and threes. So you're saying this is like one of those signs outside, like say a seven, 11.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Yeah. Yeah, like a marquee where they have a limited number of letters. Yeah, where it says like one day only, but it's clearly a zero for the O and one because they ran out of O's. Yeah. The thing is, Laircake doesn't have any robots in it. No, no. No computers.
Starting point is 00:42:19 No computers. I mean, it has a little bit to do with money, which is numbers, right? Money and numbers are the same thing. They're not exactly, I mean, in this digital world, to do with money, which is numbers, right? Money and numbers are the same thing. They're not exactly, I mean, in this digital world, yeah, they are pretty much ever since, ever since Nixon took us off the gold standard, yeah, money is a number. So that's what crypto is. It's also the realization that money is a number. So to say, man, money is just numbers.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Can you think about it? Yeah, there's no justification for why this number stand there. You're right. Because it's a crime movie, right? Yeah, for numbers. There's a lot of Daniel Craig, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's this early Daniel Craig. Very young time. The Michael Cain get Carter. It's got a similar vibe. Yeah. And now get Carter. That was G3T. get Carter, it's got a similar vibe. Yeah, and now get Carter, that was G3T, C, Hat Sign, RT, 38. It was G3 plus sign. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:13 Oh, man, they had to get him because he was a robot. So, so, so, Laircake, I'm going to give this one, it depends. If it was a printer's error, if they ran out of those letters, I'm going to give it a 10 for ingenuity, but if it wasn't, if it was deliberate, I'm going to give this one, it depends. If it was a printer's error, if they ran out of those letters, I'm going to give it a 10 for ingenuity. But if it wasn't, if it was deliberate, I'm going to give it a, I give it a three, I think. Yeah, well, that's, I mean, okay, so I'll put down the signal for, for, for, for, for, signal.
Starting point is 00:43:36 I'll put down the signal for Schrodinger's cat. Okay, great. Because, because we're not going to, and so. And so we call the bridge shop that made the posters. Yeah. And okay, so Shroteur, I thought I just played the piano. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Nice. That's a good one. That was a good one. I'll probably pause for the audience to applaud. He's not paused. Oh, they're throwing bouquets at me. Up there's room key.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Oh, now the crowd is turning. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 00:44:22 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, number behind you. Oh, two, two. Okay. And now the audience loves it. The audience loves that they're going back on stage and they're mopping up the tomatoes. They threw and here's good news for everyone. This is the last movie. Thanks for it. I kind of thought we would be doing this for the rest of my life. thought we would be doing this for the rest of my life. Here it is. It's lucky number 11, but the V is a seven now indicating that it sounds 11 sounds like seven. So it's lucky number slah seven in. Now, when you announced this, Dan, I knew seven was going to be one of them. And I went my head. I was like, did lucky number 11 do this too? Because I thought
Starting point is 00:45:04 maybe there's enough of a gimmick that people were confused already about whether it was seven or 11, but no, that wasn't confusing enough. In some of the ads, I saw the seven. So I saw the seven in some of the ads. I saw the seven. And you're talking about gimmicks. Yeah, so some of the sleds and ads. I saw the number seven. Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do Yeah, the president of the time I forget which one it was It's all for it. Yeah, yeah, officially changed the date to Slough. Yeah, yeah, a Degree of Slough. An executive order. Yeah. So guys, what do you give lucky numbers? Slough it. Now here's guys, have you seen the movie? Have you seen them?
Starting point is 00:46:06 I've never actually seen lucky numbers. And you know what that is? I saw lucky number. And I always get it mixed up with the one that's called like Project 40, something where it's the same old Jackson is supposed to be scotted. What's that one? Very, very different move. Yeah, I always get the mixed up to see them.
Starting point is 00:46:20 I feel like Dan saw lucky numbers, Levin, right? Yeah, it's one of those post-Tarantino crime, like there's a bunch of competing hitmen in the neighborhood. Two days in a valley. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, there's, it was back when America was still, was still wildly in love with hitmen who wear suits. A thing that has maybe never existed. Yeah. Why is that guy wearing a suit and calling a ditched him so?
Starting point is 00:46:49 Why is this hitman so stylish? I feel like who committed this crime? Well, I'll tell you who I definitely wasn't. The bald man with a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck who was wearing a black suit and gloves. Hell, if you are talking shit about agent 47 while I'm here, this is the brazen. Four agent.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Agent 40 11 Stewart. I know you love. I know you love that guy because he hits people and then steals their clothes. He's still their clothes. Drowns and toilets. It's great. That's why Stewart loves it. I like to imagine a world where every person's clothes
Starting point is 00:47:25 will fit me, Agent 47. Yeah, it's just a world of traveling pants. Yeah, it's great. I love it. Yeah, I mean, So like number 11, okay, okay. I have a series, okay, I can do it. I'm gonna pick a number.
Starting point is 00:47:41 Okay. I'm gonna give a 11. So Dan, is there a character named Sleven? Like what is Sleven? I think that there's a guy whose name is Sleven. If I were to call him. Even as a character's name, that's ridiculous. It's just little or equal.
Starting point is 00:47:57 Of course. Little alone to hang a pun. I mean, like, better off dead. Not even a pun, you're being up or worse. Is it a better off dead? That dead is a real name. Better off dead is a thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Sleven, it's not like people are gonna be like, oh, yes, of course. Sleven is a name for a human being. So I'm gonna give it a, you give it a Sleven tour. Yeah, I'm gonna give it a slicks. That's like a six. Because it got again, cuts, but it takes such a cuts to be Yeah, I'm gonna give it a slicks. That's like a six. I'm gonna give it a slicks. Cause it got again, cuts, but it takes such a cut
Starting point is 00:48:27 sweat to be like, we're gonna make up a name. We're gonna stick it in the title. And it's like when a movie comes out like a, that movie Mumford, with a trailer, it was just people going, Mumford, Mumford, Mumford. And then they say everybody's talking about Mumford. It always makes me so mad that they're like, guess what? In this movie, the main character must be cool.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Everyone says his name a bunch of times. Yeah. Okay. So that means that they should have done, they should have done an ad for downfall where they said like everybody's talking about Hitler and they just have one shaft or another of characters who Hitler, Hitler, Hitler, Hitler. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:02 That's, yeah, that's, that's why aren't you in charge of the marketing for the movie downfall that came out a long time ago? I mean, it's only in my mind because I saw a, because someone brought back the, the old habit of taking the scene, the meme scene, and they did, it was about Kevin McCarthy trying to get the votes for his, for his speakership. So it's, and I was like, you know what? I remember loving that meme. Every time a new, a new subtitle batch came out, we'd all gather around the screen at the office and just watch it and laugh and laugh when Hitler got mad at everybody.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Mm hmm. It's just, it's just going to show when life gets you lemons make lemonade and when life gives you lemons makes lemonade. Yep. Normally I would been trying to break in, but that was actually useful. I was able to calculate scores. So, um, these are not going to be an order. No, it'll card me, but I will say cool, cool, cool. No, no, I'm going to do scores with the announcement for sporting events. We just finished. Let me finish. Like the the lower the lower scoring ones are not going to be in order. I will give you our top two at the end. But so the movie seven, ironically got an eight. Where has 13 ghosts got a seven? No. Oh, so scream everything's crazy in this one. Everything's cool. So down scream. I guess I guess black is white cats are dogs.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Screen four got a six and taking taking three got a nine. I hope they find figures out how to understand these numbers. Fantastic four got a five. Now. numbers. Fantastic four got a five. Now, as you know, Simone got a 12 layer cake because your number was in flux. We could not calculate that. And as you know, 11 plus slicks equals slurting. Yeah, basically, basically, slur arithmetic, yeah.
