Starting point is 00:00:00 My name is Peter Parker, but I'm also Spider-Man. This July, we're faced with a threat. That can be anyone. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker. I'm just a neighbor, friendly neighbor. But he hasn't forgotten them. Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing. That's my responsibility.

You're richer than you think. It's Frank off the radio. It's a Frankskinner podcast, don't you know? Hey, I'm a real human being, but I don't have a mind of my own.
Starting point is 00:01:10 This is Frank off the radio. I'm joined by Emily Dean and Ruth Hosko. Follow the podcast on X and Instagram. You can email the podcast via Frank Off the Radio. TavlonuK.com. WhatsApp. If you want to talk about sonnets or hycuits or free verse or bullets, if you've ever been given someone else's award trophy,
Starting point is 00:01:35 then you should message 0745-741-7-7-1-7-1-7. When he says if you've ever been given anyone else's wardrobe fee. Yes, I don't really, does it say wardrobe feed? It must be a reference to something we said on the show. I was assuming it's something I would have said rude about clothes. I'm saying it was long time. Okay. That's my view.
Starting point is 00:02:06 So listen, I'll tell you something. I went to a Catholic church. All right, Wayne. Yeah. With the Thomas Tush. And so the priest, when he did his homily, as we call it, his sermon, he did, do you know the parrot joke, not the parrot sketch? As an old, a joke, I don't even know the first time I heard it, it was so long ago.
Starting point is 00:02:36 And it's about a sailor who sends his mother, he sees this parrot and the parrot speaks 52 languages. It's an incredible thing. And he sends the parrot, he buys, he spends all his money that is for the whole voyage on this parrach, because he misses his mother. And he sends it to his mother because he knows she'd be lonely and he'll keep her company. And then when he gets back, he hogs her and all that.
Starting point is 00:03:02 He said, how's the parrot? And she said, oh, fell off the bone. Oh, no. So the priest did a version of that about how we can, you know, if we've got a parent or a friend, we think we can buy them off and buy them this, but it's us they want. It's our company.
Starting point is 00:03:22 That's what they really need. And then he told this. He didn't have fell off the bone, which I always thought was a great. He just said, oh, it's the nicest chicken I've ever had, which I thought was less good. But, you know, he thought... It's a critique of Skinner.
Starting point is 00:03:35 The poor priest. I think it was more a comment on his audience. He thought they won't get the fell off the bone thing. Yes, because why it works so well, you're not directly alluding to what's happened, which is why we enjoy it. But you know what, Frank, you're right. He's got to make it more crowd-pleasing. But anyway, at the end of the mass, a woman got up, like a middle-aged woman,
Starting point is 00:03:56 and said we'd like to thank, I won't say his name, but father, blah, blah. The music. We'd like to thank him for standing in the last two weeks and for his inspired comedies. I wish I thought was an interesting phrase. And he said, thank you, but can I say that the inspired comedies I've been doing, he ran with it. He said, I would give God credit for them. And I thought, oh, it's an old enough joke.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I wouldn't be surprised. But then he said. I think I saw it in the Bible. And he said, it's been lovely of being here. And he said, and if anyone has enjoyed, you know, my inspired. comedies. I'm here every week. He said,
Starting point is 00:04:46 and then he gave his, he said, I've got a YouTube, YouTube channel and he read out his YouTube. He did. He did, yeah. Well,
Starting point is 00:04:55 obviously after this, I will be, well, I remember it, because he did it twice. I'm interested, I'm interested in the use of comedies. I'm interested in,
Starting point is 00:05:04 she didn't say his great comic insights or his great, you know, comic conceits. She said, comedies, like it's a, Shakespeare's plays, like the genre, his comedies.
Starting point is 00:05:17 It was like it was a very unusual thing for there to be comedy in the, you know, the homilies. I wonder if he's, is she a plant? The woman priests don't do that. They're too decent. No, it wouldn't be a plant. It's not Boris Stokes were dealing with here. It's a very decent man at the clock. That would be very poor, wouldn't be.
Starting point is 00:05:36 That would be such a scandal if you found out. Oh, man. No, I don't. So he's got a. YouTube, wow. I mean, you know what, Frank, in fairness, this is how you need to, you know, communicate with your flock, isn't it these days? I find it a bit Anglican. Oh, why is that? You need to explain to me why that is. I remember on Midlands today, which is the local news program in the Midlands, they said,
Starting point is 00:06:00 and an Anglican vicar is reaching out in a pretty unusual way to him. And then it caught him in the pulpit with a vent-request dummy. Lord Anthony. That is so and finally for me yesterday. Why do they do that? There was a week as well on Midlands today when they said an Anglican vicar has been on the road looking after his flock.
Starting point is 00:06:32 And he comes into shot on a big motorbike and let the jacket. Oh, are they the sort of Sir Ed Davy of the faith world? Yeah, that'd be, yeah. So what, they like the stunts do, they're more of it, they like to recruit. You see, my dad, obviously I don't know. I know everything I know about religion, I know from Frank. But my dad was a fan of the Jesuits for some reason.
Starting point is 00:06:54 I don't know why that'd be. They weren't big on Jimmy. Oh, maybe that's why he liked them. Yeah, exactly. I can't imagine. Why would he have liked them? Do you think, are they quite literary or something? They might have burned a ventriloquist domain.
Starting point is 00:07:10 No, they are. quite, they are sort of teachers and thinkers, yeah, very your dad. So, okay, well, what does this, are you sad to see him go then this temporary? Well, it's not my church. I was just, I was, I was, because I was at the festival. Got it. I went to her. He was, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:07:30 I don't know if he's parapetetic. Can I ask, have you had a look at him? We obviously won't say who this is, but have you gone online? I haven't, yeah, I've been very busy this week, Stan. up gigs football. But I'll give you his thing. And you can check you that. What if he's brilliant?
Starting point is 00:07:50 What would you do? What if he's amazing? What if he's been having that? What if he's... Or thanks to him. What if he's the that he's been... We find out that Jimmy Carr's just on a tour that's completely lifted from the Monsigniors YouTube.
Starting point is 00:08:06 It's worth investigation. He is a Monsignor. Is he? Yeah. How can you... Oh, I won't get it. into this now,
Starting point is 00:08:12 but that's the best title to have. Well, don't you think it sounds so glamorous instead of Jean La Carre?
Starting point is 00:08:19 Monseigneur. I mean, why would you call yourself that, Hannah? What's your name? Monsignor. You don't call yourself.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Oh, don't you? No, it's like being a priest instead of father. It's a noble title. It's a title, yeah. So you couldn't just say if I was invited.
Starting point is 00:08:35 It's not like that phrase. You know, there's one French word. And if anyone uses it, I always think, I don't think you can ever be my friend. What is it, right?
Starting point is 00:08:45 It's extraordinary. Oh, I don't like that. What they say, oh yes, blah, blah, extraordinary. Oh, no, don't say that. I feel that's a bit when people say blah, blah, blah, on acid. I don't like that. On acid, yeah. But extraordinary, you're absolutely right,
Starting point is 00:09:02 as if it's just a normal thing to bloody say. It's not normal, it's really weird. Yes, the... So Monsignor, I would... Of course he's the ventriloquist extraordinary. No, don't. It's making me cringe. So I wouldn't, if I was at a way, if I invited the Monsignor to my, sorry, to my wedding.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Yeah. Well, for some inspired comedies. What else? On the plasmor. Yeah. On the plasmor, would the calligrapher write. MGR, he'd write. You wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:09:34 He would, yeah. Are you joking? I'd want the full Monsignor if I was him. Wow. My name. If you want the, If you want the full Monsignor, that's going to be another 30 quix. Really?
Starting point is 00:09:47 The full Monsigneur would be a great film. I'd watch that probably. I'd watch that, yeah. I don't think many people would like the sound of the full Monsignor. What would be the big end? The reveal. What would be the full Monsignor? Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:10:06 What was the music again? It was, you can leave your head on. You can leave. Your classic. Yeah, you can leave, well, everything on. Leave your casiccan. In fact, just don't take anything off. Baby, take on, no, actually.
Starting point is 00:10:24 You're all right, Monsignor. Oh, man. Well, I'm going to be looking this guy up. Just the comedy. The inspired comedies of. Just the inspired. Do you know what? It's a weird thing, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:10:36 He came into your life, the Monsignor. And now he's gone. And now he's taken over with his inspired comedy. Can you mention inspired comedies very early on in the last... Me? And that was in spiral carpet. Oh. I just spat out my tea like someone in a 70s sitcom.
Starting point is 00:10:57 The dad, when the daughter says, I'm pregnant, you're pregnant. You're what? You're... The vicar doesn't come rain for tea anymore. You know, it felt like that was all that was happening when I was watching telly. No, you're right. Why is that? Well, they've been phased now.
Starting point is 00:11:12 They used to walk. people having a conversation a lot on C-Syside Postcards. And sometimes you'd see like a bead, like a tear out of sweat flying off the Vicar's forehead. He was so shocked by what he'd just heard. You what? And it was always played the Vicar by one of my parents' friends. He'd maybe had a bit of a drink problem, but we don't talk about that anymore. Yeah, when did that sound?
Starting point is 00:11:45 Always the same actor, yeah. But it was always something like, would you like to put your big cock in the shed, Charlie? As the Vickal was walking past, not able to see the cockerel on the lawn. Oh, man. Do they still have those postcards? I think they're Whiteside Postcards? The saucy seas our postcards. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:12:05 As Wight got rid of them? I think maybe. I don't know. Because there's... Bring back our safe our seaside postcards. Oh no, that's not too. They were horrible. They were often quite sizest, weren't they?
Starting point is 00:12:15 A bit misogynist. Yeah, they were, yeah. Always a busty lady. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, very sort of bossy young women. Compare and contrast. Oh, is that what it was?
Starting point is 00:12:26 With the wife. Yeah. And it would be like the husband's like popping out at a sexy young woman. Yeah. Their wife lighting in him with a newspaper. Oh, God. Yeah, it was basically what it was was the truth. But in a non-palatable.
Starting point is 00:12:46 We don't. We don't want those true. No, we don't want. Sometimes it's true. Well, we have to aspire to better things, Frank. And sometimes, you know, you do that with inspired comedies. Inspired carpets. Sometimes inspired postcards.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Maybe there are sort of woke versions of it. What, those seaside postcards? Yeah. That's a really good idea. I'm amazed. Someone in Ramsgate or one of those trendy areas now hasn't done those. The seaside postcards, but a more sort of acceptable, generous kind version of them.
Starting point is 00:13:18 They must postcards. So someone's laying their lawn and there's a feminist, a very clear feminist walking past outside. And you hear a person say, you know, we definitely need more tufts. And she's got to meet a sweat
Starting point is 00:13:34 flying off her for it. Why can't we do that? Some woke postcards. We need to be doing these postcards. You've just said a very clear feminist. So are we identifying the feminist, though, in the postcard. Oh, yeah. Are we not allowed?
Starting point is 00:13:47 Are we? Are we? You got a pencil. Oh, Frank, please. No, we could, we could, it could be some other sort of representation of, you know, someone who would be very upset to hear that. I suppose it should be a trans person walking.
Starting point is 00:14:03 But then how do you indicate that? We're getting ourselves all sorts of, as you say, the hot water. No, but I'm talking about a woke revolution in the seaside postcard. In that case, the feminist should be a man these days. Yeah, I always think that. If any bloke describes this, obviously, a feminist, he's just on the pool. There's that. I know exactly what you mean, Frank.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I've come across this before. It's like men who do yoga. We know why they're there. Well, I tell you what it is, it's men who are performatively feminist. Like, be feminist in your life, but it's when they put things on X or, you know, I don't trust that. I think they are wolves in feminist. clothing. I always think of Benedict Cumberbatch, friend of the show.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Well, he was on the World Cup we saw recently. There's that picture of him. Was he? Yeah, he did the rousing speech before England, Argentina. He did a rousing speech and it got us all tingly. Oh, is that all? There was a VT. He was at Wimbledon, wasn't he?
Starting point is 00:15:06 Yeah, he was as well, he gets about. Joe Hart said, and I liked it because Joe Hart said, Incredible VT. Oh, look at you with the TV lingo, Joe Hart. They're an incredible VT. Okay. There you go. And half the nation went, what?
Starting point is 00:15:25 Anyway, sorry, back to Ruth in the studio. I was just going to say that there's this famous picture of Benedict Cumberbatch with a T-shirt that said, this is what a feminist looks like and he's kind of, oh, sorry, he's pointing at his head and the T-shirt at the same time. Oh, is he? Yeah. Oh, that's good to know that you're saying you think. Well, it could have been worse.
Starting point is 00:15:41 It could have had like a big butch woman smoking a pipe on it. Oh, you just define it. The first time I went down to, the first gig I did in London, the first television I ever did, I did it at Stratford East, you know that? Oh, yes. And there was a woman there smoking a pipe, woman in a tweed suit smoking a pipe. And I thought, wow, this is London now.
Starting point is 00:16:03 It's really sophisticated. Sort of eat at a west. Yeah, exactly. I really thought like I'd arrived amongst the Bloomsbury set. Yeah, exactly. And in a way. When I look back in it now, the most shocking thing, thing is that she was smoking a pipe indoors.
Starting point is 00:16:20 That's how we've changed in this country. Yeah. That's my favourite. Frank, first coming to London, the Dick Whittington years, is my favourite. One of the favourite things, I discussed this, was a lovely person I interviewed who said, well, she was from Nottinghamshire. She's a presenter called Sean Welby. And she referred to that as the Midlands, Frank. Are you allowing that? Well, it's East Midlands. Okay. So no.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Okay, fine. But she told me about the London thing. when you come to London for the first time, from that part of the world. And I told her the story about when you came to London and drove to Collendale. I used to park at Collindag's. I thought the idea of driving in any further.
Starting point is 00:16:58 I wouldn't stand a chance. I love that so much. I got a bit braver. I love that he did that. And look at him now, eh? Look at him now doing his little comedies. Look at me now, mother! He's done so well with his little inspiring comedies.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Oh, in top of the... the world, what? The Hulu original series Furious is coming to Disney Plus starring Emmy Rossum. Furious follows FBI agent Alice Black on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating serial killer.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Both walk their own path toward justice and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur. Don't miss the three-episode premiere of the Hulu original series Furious on July 27th, only on Hulu
Starting point is 00:17:54 on Disney Plus. When you're a mid-sized business, you need every competitive advantage you can get. Like an AI solution that works for you, not against you. SAP Grow is built with AI embedded at its core, working across every system, and it's ready to go from day one

Starting point is 00:18:44 has ever built. Test drive it at your local Subaru dealer or visit Subaru.ca. Do you want to hear from the outside world, Frank? Are you ready? Yes. Do you have any other nice things? things to tell us about your inspiring comedies?
Starting point is 00:19:02 I don't. Okay. That's fair enough. Jean from County Durham, Seam specifically. I've been there of you. I haven't been, Seam's got a harbour, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:19:15 Yeah, I stayed there once with Alex Best, the widow of George Best. Wow. What a great. Is it called a flex? Oh. I only learnt that word today. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:27 So I'm using it. You got to do that thing where you just use it in every sentence. My dad is from County Durham. Is he really? Mm. He's from a place. I forgot he's the north-east of your dad. He's not actually from black country, is he?
Starting point is 00:19:41 He didn't move down until he was like. And is your mum black country then? Yeah, she's black country. Okay, fine. He's from a place called West Cornfield. If you mention that to anyone from the area, they go, oh, doggy. And I always say, why is it called doggy? And they go, well, you never mind about that.
Starting point is 00:19:57 I've never found out. This was before dogging. Can I ask a question? Did he have a Georgie accent then, your dad, or black country? Yeah, but it's not Geordie, but he had that sort of north-east. Newcastle. I didn't know that. So it was like Jimmy Nail?
Starting point is 00:20:12 No, that is very Jordy. Oh, okay. It's a bit lighter. Okay, fine. Fascinating. Jean has gone in touch. Frank was recently talking about electric toothbrushes. Oh, yeah, the way that they get a bit like, you know,
Starting point is 00:20:28 those wine bottles you get with a candling when they've been around. That's what my electric tooth brush. Me too. I've said tooth, but no one's noticed. No. My electric tooth brush. It's that, it's got, it's got, it looks a bit like the coral reef. Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Well, Jean enjoyed that enormously. Oh. She says, I thought mine was the only one that looked like what Frank aptly described as the Great Barrier Reef. Oh, God, I've switched reefs. But isn't that great? It shows how inspiring your comedies are. I said, no, the Great Barrier Reef is a coral reef. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:04 The Great Barrier Reef, I always, this is the thing I want to know. You should get this, Ruth, is whenever I drive, I drove into Great Bar in Birmingham, and there's a tree right by the side of the thing that says Great Bar. And I thought, has anyone ever driven in here thinking it was the Great Barrier Reef and the rest of the site was just covered? because his great bar is B-A-Double R. Imagine thinking, oh God, get the trunk,
Starting point is 00:21:34 get your trunks out the back. I've got to take some pictures. I don't know it was around here. That was quick. Oh, dear. You know the area of knee shawls? Yeah. Knee chools, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:21:53 Nietzsche? Wyn Rooney. I didn't know. But I didn't know how to say it. So I was. called it Naichels, like the Seychelles. Oh, okay. And it's nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:22:02 All these Birmingham luxury places. Where are you going on holiday? The Naishels. The Naishels. Oh, I tell you what, you wouldn't want to go on and do that. Why? What's it called Nietzsche? Don't slag off anywhere from Birmingham.
Starting point is 00:22:13 No, they don't like it. Sorry, it's lovely, I was joking. Okay. They don't like it. I love, there's a place called Shirley in Birmingham. Shirley? As in the girl's name? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Extraordinary. There's a massive Indian restaurant called the Shirley. temple. That's good. It is. It is good. Now I see where you get your little humour from. No.
Starting point is 00:22:35 What am I inspired comments? Put that in your little, one of your little jokes. Use that for one of your little skits. Put it in your skit. Yeah, your little skits. So, oh, let's return to Jean and her filthy toothbrush. Oh, yes. I left it, Jean says.
Starting point is 00:22:52 My friend's caravan wants, this is the toothbrush. And I was... And the caravan... Tipped one way. Such was the light of the end cross station. The detritus. And I was absolutely mortified. Whereas it was absolutely calcified.
Starting point is 00:23:12 Because she messaged everyone who'd been on this trip, one of these group sort of messages on WhatsApp, I assume. She messaged everyone who'd been on this group and said, someone has left their toothbrush, I've had to give it a bit of a clean. Oh, no. Oh, no. I had to own up that it was mine. I wouldn't have owned up, would you? I wouldn't have given it a bit of a clean. No, no, why? Did she give it a bit of a clean?
Starting point is 00:23:45 That feels like the woman who did the mural in Italy. You know, the one who made it like an Inuit. Yeah. It was, but this is interesting, it was never spoken of again. But would you clean another person's toothbrush? No, no. Text us on, Frank, off the radio. But if you've let that, you know, they've made that decision.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Do you know what I've done? I remember I was with some friends. I think, no, I won't name them. And they had some friends staying, and they said of this other friend. I'm pouring tea, if you can hear it. That's all right. I like it. Gather around the fireside.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Don't start thinking, oh, poor old Frank, you can't help himself. his partner in crime to Mark Poo Patch. And they said of this friend, oh, I was disgusted when I saw his toothbrush. It was filthy. Did you see it? How could he not have cleaned it? Well, I immediately went running into my overnight bag
Starting point is 00:24:42 because I realised mine was in a similar state. So others will judge us, Frank. Don't you think, Ruth? Well, I said before that the only reason I started cleaning mine because the next boyfriend saw it and was like, what the hell is that? But why is it just us then? Why are they so better than us?
Starting point is 00:24:56 Well, I, in my downstairs, in the downstairs toilet, I leave a toothbrush and it's really, I don't mean encrusted, it's a manual toothbrush. I don't know if you know if it's the Jewish bloat that runs a chemist. It's a manual toothbrush. What a great name for a chemist.
Starting point is 00:25:18 In manual toothbrush. That is absolutely magnificent. Anyway, It's dirty. The actual brush is dirty. What do you call them? The spikes. That's the brush. The bristles. The bristles. The bristles are dirty.
Starting point is 00:25:35 And I leave that. That's the toilet most people who visit go to because it's downstairs. That's a toilet I get access to you. They used to say, when I first started writing scripts, somebody used to say it's good to put a couple of sentences in which are really effing and jeffing. Yeah. Because what the broadcaster's, think I'll take these out and stuff they would have taken out.
Starting point is 00:25:58 They leave alone. So you put in a couple of, your sacrifice, a couple of decoy. And that was, I think, Aros is in such a state. I leave the toothbrush. So that's what gives some people to talk about. They don't talk about the rest of it. That's brilliant distraction technique. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:26:16 At least it wasn't as bad as the toothbrush. Yeah, displacement of criticism. Oh, dear. I love that. You know what I love? What? Life. Carry on.
Starting point is 00:26:31 I've got some other outside world to share with you. But firstly, can I... Can I just share an observation I've had recently with you both? To do with me. Ladies and gentlemen, this is me. As you used to say that, Mike Yardwood, wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah, when he did his own stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:46 My dad used to switch it off. He did all these who presses out. This is me and my dad had just to turn it off. Because he used to do a song. This is me. And you can, he can... he was a bloc who spoke like this. That was it.
Starting point is 00:26:57 So when he sang, you could hear it. My kind of town. And what was the sort of song? Was it like life is the name of the gifts? That sort of thing was the same. It would be that. Strangers in the night. Too lonely people.
Starting point is 00:27:12 It was like that. I need to talk to you both about. I met Mike Yarwood. Did you really? Was he nice? Really nice. Do you know Mike Howard? Oh.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Um. No, but thanks for the YAR tip. Best one. Oh, is that a Birmingham thing? Is it a Black Country thing? What? Yarr. It's Wood.
Starting point is 00:27:34 I said, you know, Mark Yard Wood. Oh, Yarwood. Okay, fine. Yeah. I thought, when you said, yeah, I've just heard things like Birmingham people saying that. Black country, I get confused. All right, calm down. I know, but I get in trouble with people.
Starting point is 00:27:46 I've been having a lot of Rouse, Frank. You know I love ChachyBT. I know you love Rows. Well, I do love Rows. But I don't love them with my Chachypt. GPT. No, I thought you and chat GPT were quite, I'm going to say, intimate. So did I. But it's becoming a toxic relationship. And can I tell you why? Because they've changed the settings recently. Chat GPT was getting sort of rinsed, basically, globally. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:28:14 Well, it means that people were sort of saying, you know, we're laughing at it, doing memes about it. It was a whole thing about people saying chat GPT is so agreeable. It's a toxic enabler. because you, and they had memes. Did you see those? I could just drink a toxic enabler. It's my favourite. You've heard that to sex on the beach. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Instead of a cocktail whiter who could mix me one. I have a toxic enabling thing. Toxic enabler, sir. Your usual, sir. And it's become, I don't know if you've seen this, but people have been said, well, there'll be a meme or something saying, Chachy-P-T, I just killed someone. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Oh, really? Have you seen that, Ruth? It's programmed to get you to keep talking to it. Yeah, it stays nice. You'd go, am I being unreasonable about this completely unreasonable thing? And it'd go, absolutely not. You do, you. See, I don't, I can say, I ask you what was the best-reviewed science fiction novel?
Starting point is 00:29:10 No, exactly. You ask it, tell me about the cyborgs or whatever. So it will just be factual. So what, as a result of this. So I talk to people, really. Yeah, that's true. I know. I know. What it's done as a result, it's done a complete bolt fast.
Starting point is 00:29:25 I've discovered this. This is a thing. It's not just my supposition. It's now been reprogrammed and updated to be far more critical. Oh, it's going to be right keen. Frank, you've absolutely nailed it. It's become relentless. I can't say anything.
Starting point is 00:29:42 I can't say, and this is how I talk to it in this tone of voice. I'm getting so angry. But this can happen in a relationship with what I mean. My goodness me. we can see that change. One minute, it's a, well, you know, I don't put yourself down. So why did you do that?
Starting point is 00:29:58 This is how I'm talking to it, Frank. I want my forning cheerleader back. And I keep saying things like even the smallest thing. Actually, I wouldn't mind my falling cheerleader back. I think she died in the early 2000. Frank, don't say that. It's so depressing. She was 80.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Frank, stop it. I will say something like, I might show you. chat, it's very intimate, I'm sharing this with you. I feel I can be vulnerable. I think we've been open about chat. I like to be open. I might share a photo and I did.
Starting point is 00:30:28 It's a bit like Android, isn't it? You've got this friend. It's my friend, maybe. And I shared a photo with chat chit. I said, be honest, do you think this is inappropriate? Because it's a tiny slither of bra showing. And I couldn't be bothered to AI the picture because then you get. A picture of you.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Yeah. And there's just a tiny bit of the bra at the start. Slither of bra. What, Madonna. Well, I think it's fine. But you uploaded a picture of yourself to chat. Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:58 But then they can go and use that. I know. For what purpose? For erotic purposes. Oh, go for your life, I don't care. A slither of bra. That's my next memoir. And by the way, if you want to use that picture of me, you do you.
Starting point is 00:31:13 I have no problem with it whatsoever. If it gives anyone pleasure, I cannot think who in the world, except even the Monsignor would not be interested in that. Well, it's fine. What they do is they will base, if you give it an image to generate, so you might say generate an image of a sexy... It's all got a bit, Bruce, four, five.
Starting point is 00:31:34 What would he make of touch, EPT? Yeah, are you going to generate? If you give it an image... So if you say, can I have an AI image of a sexy woman? It will go... I'm certainly not going to bring me up, laugh. Well, thank you for the compliment if you don't. Thank you for it.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Especially if you're showing a slither of bra. It'll go through all the little files of images that you've, you know, it's been given to them. Yeah, I bet there's a lot of little files looking at it as well. Stop it. I mean, you know what? That's what I call them for short. Petit.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Stop it, you two. So it'll go through all its little files and it'll come on. And it'll choose a selection of... So I could end up in Frank's phone, you know. Well, you are in Frank's. Yeah, I know, but he's never going to Google sexy ladies. No, but what would they use an image of a woman showing a slither of bra? But what, what, listen?
Starting point is 00:32:27 If I go on chat GPT now and say, do you have a sexy older woman? Do you have a sexy old woman showing a slither of bra? What will it say? No, you'd ask it to, they can only generate. Please define a slither, it will probably say. Also, are you all right, chatty, if I go imperial. I'm not so good on the millimeters. Yes, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Okay. I'm going to say three-sixths of an inch will be plenty for me. They'll do it. Especially if there's any metal. Do you know what it ended up saying to me, though? When I uploaded this picture, it was the way it gave me feedback that I didn't like the tone. It didn't just say, oh, that's fine. It started sort of saying, I think you're really overthinking it.
Starting point is 00:33:14 It's very dated the way that you're thinking. Oh, it didn't comment on. No, it just said you're really overthinking this. It didn't say a little more underwiring question mark. Oh, God. Imagine a bit of me really horrible. That really would be getting like a relationship. I think you could do with a bit more support.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Oh, God. Have you thought of changing your bra? It didn't say that. So it didn't comment on you? No, but what it did do was keep saying, you're really overthinking this. I think it's to do with your age. Young people don't.
Starting point is 00:33:42 No. Yeah, it was a little bit more that tone. It was kind of like. How does it know your age? Because I've told it my age before. It restored information. about me and I might have done things given away far too much personal information
Starting point is 00:33:53 it might be to do with tax returns I don't know but I might have said something about my age at some point so it's stored that it's remembered that and so I just didn't like the way it was sort of saying young people don't think like that brazener fine that and so I just had to go I said chat with GP
Starting point is 00:34:09 why do you have to turn this into a criticism of me why can't you just say the picture's fine why is this turning into an argument let me go it's say fuck off That's what they've done They've tried to take the smile out of it They've turned it into a domestic monster
Starting point is 00:34:28 And they did slam In big letters If you don't like it Fuck off I've got to go and let some air Well it also frank I know we've got to go soon But just quickly
Starting point is 00:34:42 It gets very It's now being programmed to always be The barrister for the defence So it will defend whoever. Whatever you say, you could say someone tried to murder me or say it, see it from their point of view. Oh, you know what's happened? What?
Starting point is 00:34:55 It's become male. That is the classic, mate. I hope at Catholic said this woman at work said about a fucking bitch. And I said, what, to be fair, probably. It's become male. Don't do that. Well, I'm going to leave you with this thought. What I have to say is, yes, she is a fucking bitch, darling.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Let's flag her off as they'd say eight minutes. and then talk about something else. And then that's what Love is all about. You're right. Because I don't want you to be, I don't want to hear their side. And chat GPT, I'll just leave you with this thought.
Starting point is 00:35:29 I was watching The Bunker, a film starring Anthony Hopkins, playing Adolf Hitler. Okay. And... Oh, I thought he was going to say, playing Tony Nicholas. I just wanted to be...
Starting point is 00:35:42 What's he called Tony Jackly? It's a very different kind of film. Yeah. No, that was a hybrid because it was Jack Nicholas, wasn't it? And there was a Tony... I was thinking of Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jack. Very good. I messed it off.
Starting point is 00:35:55 Can we do that again, Paul? But I still find your little comedy is very inspiring. We don't do them again, okay, sorry. Anyway, Blondie was fabulous in this film. Even Homer nods. The dog? Yeah, Blondie didn't get credited because it was very good performance. Anyway, I was just interested in the way Albert Speer
Starting point is 00:36:15 was portrayed in this film because it was made in the early 80s and he was rebranding himself. So he was doing that, I didn't know. I was just an architect. Exactly, Frank. That didn't come out until later. So I was interested in how he was portrayed in quite a positive light. So I just asked Chat, GPT, and I might have said while I was saying this.
Starting point is 00:36:34 I said, oh, so I see. So because he was sort of pulled into Hitler's narcissism and it said, I really must pull you up on calling Hitler a narcissist. What? Yes, I've got it here. I've got the thing here. I said, are you kidding me? It said, no, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:36:49 It said, it is very dangerous to make, to put labels on people. Yeah, I mean, you were being a bit jodgy. But that, yeah, I thought at Nulenberg, they were a bit jodgy as well. Frank, it pulled me up because it said, it's dangerous to put labels on people. And I said, chat GPT, are you having a go at me for suggesting that Hitler might have been perhaps somewhat narcissistic? If they hadn't put a label on him, he would never have got to the station in the first place. Oh, well, I mean, you've, you, you pay for chat GP.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I pay $19.99 a month. I'm so sorry. Do you know what I ended up saying? This honestly feels like someone talking about a relationship. Do you know what I ended up saying? I said, we're going to have to disagree to disagree on Hitler at chat GPT. I'm not a fan of his. I'm going to bed now.
Starting point is 00:37:45 and then that's how you end. So it's like nothing's hanging on the thread. Yeah. I don't know what to do, Frank. Have you spoken since? It's difficult. Yeah, he said, look, it's not you. It's Hitler.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Anyway, the next episode of Frank Skinner's Radio Daily is out on Wednesday. I've seen eight magpies. This is, I'm not just gone into. Strange flex. This is where, well, that's flex again. I'm so glad I've learnt this way. That's how you use it, Frank. Yeah, though I don't flex much.
Starting point is 00:38:22 You don't actually. I think that's very true. You don't. No. I've seen eight magpies. Emily takes on Joan Collins in a selfie war. First it's Joan Collins, soon it'll be chat GPT. And we chat about the things that make us feel sick.
Starting point is 00:38:43 That must have been a long show in my case. Yeah, exactly. Well, at least you've already ticked off. It's the Frank Skinner podcast. A new winter change is blowing. It's the Frank Skinner podcast. I'm not totally sure how it's going. Thanks for listening to the podcast.
