On today's episode of the Fumble Ruski podcast, it's here.
We finally made it, gentlemen.
We finally made it.
Talk about the two games that are headlining, kicking off, I should say,
that are kicking off the NFL season.
Other NFL news like Tua being named starter for the Atlanta Falcons.
All that and more, this is the Fulmaruski podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the stat sheet, but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Welcome to the Fulmuriski podcast by Secret We Got Sej. We got Toc.
it's football season
it's football season
it's finally here
big time
big time
we're just
we're just
yeah
is that you
no that's not
no this is me
I'm just
oh wow
I tell Adam I'm gonna kiss him on the lips all the time
yeah that's me right now
or about this one
all of them were you
yeah
That's the feeling right now because football starts on Wednesday.
Still don't like it.
Still don't like the NFL season starting on a Wednesday,
but part of me is kind of happy that I got to see the Patriots play
a little bit sooner than I would have had to.
But yeah, so we'll get into Seahawks Patriots, Super Bowl rematch,
as well as Rams 49ers game in Australia.
Yeah.
But before we get into that, how was you guys a weekend?
Man, it's, I can't complain.
It's been all right.
Not too bad.
Yeah?
Yeah, nothing crazy.
Nothing crazy.
Just works.
Watch some good college football?
Yes.
How about that Ole Miss game?
Instant classic already.
We love to see it.
Yeah.
trying to add Chambliss, man.
He's trying to see if he can go number one right now.
Yeah.
I think, C.J., what was your take about Chambliss last year?
I don't even remember.
Oh, yeah, I do remember.
I lied.
I think he's a great college quarterback.
I just, with his frame, age, and play style,
I do not see it translating to the NFL,
but, hey, he's got this year to prove me wrong.
This low-key could be a stacked QB class, but speaking of college ball, Michigan.
You know what you did?
No, Michigan.
Two choms of them broke for that.
No, very bad.
Michigan deserved to lose that game.
And then somehow.
No, they did.
Like, they actually did.
But this, oh, my God, we usually see this level of corruption from our politicians, not college football.
Christ.
The rules are the rules.
It's weird for me, man
Because it's like
There's one clip that's like
He's touching the ball
And there's zero seconds
Another where he's touching the ball
And there's one second
It's like brother
It's hard to really make a decision on it
Like
Yeah
Michigan
Just if they weren't so
As we wouldn't be having this conversation
That's the problem
I need them to play better
I don't get
It's it's Western
Michigan. Aren't they ranked?
Yes. Michigan is right.
For some reason.
I don't get how they were ranked.
This should
genuinely be one of those games
where even though you won, you should like
go down in the rankings.
Oh yeah. 100%.
100%. I mean
like
they shouldn't have been ranked to begin with.
And I'm saying this like not even
because of what we just saw.
I like I would, you ask me too
months ago, I would think that they would go
like outside the top 25.
Maybe if they're ranked so high
could give Ohio State an excuse
as to why they lost to them later
down the line. Maybe that's the reason.
Maybe. Maybe.
We're getting some good theories
here. Let's get,
let's keep the spin zone going.
Maybe because they thought Bryce Underwood
would take a larger step this year
and he's not taking that step.
Maybe they were just
hardball merchants the whole time.
I mean, they did win a national championship with Harbaugh, so I can't just hold them and say they're just merch.
They got to start cheating again, man.
I mean, they got a good start, but cheat if you cheat because the refs are saving you, that's the weakest form of cheating.
Look, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
And I'm actually joking, don't do that.
But Michigan, that's just gross.
That whole game is just disgusting.
They got one Nettie in the past however many years, and they let it go to their heads, like, immediately.
That's insane behavior from the Wolverines.
28 years?
Yeah, it was 25 at least because they won one while Brady was a backup.
98.
They won in 98, so 28.
And it's a, it's 28 years now.
Before we were born.
I mean, it's better than none.
It's, but like.
But it's like the Cowboys Super Bowl.
I was just about to say the Cowboys.
No one is claiming that Michigan is America's team and that this is their year.
Have you ever set foot in Ann Arbor?
No.
That's what they say.
Have you ever stepped foot in Ann Arbor?
Have you?
No.
I would, though.
I would love to go to the big house.
CJ still hasn't responded.
No, I have not.
But that's what they're saying.
Go online, man.
I would, in Ohio State, what you call it, Michigan game, regardless of where it's at, I would go.
That would be fun.
Yeah, that would be, that's definitely a bucklerless game to go to.
That's up there.
Yeah.
Should be interesting to see how that old thing with Michigan plays out.
I think, like the most telling thing, though, at the same time is that the Mac even sent out a statement.
It was like, yeah, we're chill with the conversation with everybody.
We're chill with the Roy.
I feel like that's maybe the Mac got.
I feel like the guy who's the head of the Mac conference had, you know,
drafted that statement with like a gun to his head or something.
Yeah, I feel like there's, yeah, you could also say he probably got manipulated in general.
You thought he was held hostage against his will?
It is likely.
Look, the NCAA is not going to.
reverse anything, especially not for a non-power four school. And even if they did, it wouldn't be
for a Mack school. That much I can promise you. I feel like that you could make the argument
that the commissioner should have fought a little harder considering you just saw one of his own
Mac schools literally upset Notre Dame last year and that was Northern Illinois.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean much. Notre Dame always gets upset
for whatever reason.
They lost a Marshall not too long ago.
Oh, yeah, but that's not a Mac team, though.
Still.
Not saying that the Mac is the worst conference I've ever fucking seen.
I'm just, there's an argument.
Sure, yeah, there's an argument to be made,
but I'm not here to make the argument one way or another.
I'm just saying, just for case and purposes,
a team from his conference made a big upset last year.
like fight for you i don't know fight for your teams fair enough but um any other college football
stuff we wanted to touch on from this past weekend no uh not right now everyone that was supposed
to be giving out belt did malcott tony heisman watch but other than that enough it was a good
first week yeah there there was oh yeah i got something to say oh i got one of
as well, actually.
One just popped to mind as well.
Dabo Swinny, your seat is scorching.
That is all.
Yeah, I think because he doesn't play in the portal,
that's why he's in the position.
I don't understand how he hasn't figured out the transfer portal.
You've been a coach for how many years you have how many national championships,
and you still have not figured out the arcane wizardry of the transfer portal?
I think he doesn't want to.
It's not that he's it's a desire to not want to.
And that's what's tripping him up.
Yeah.
And like it's costing him.
Like the fact that he doesn't use the portal at all is literally killing him.
And genuinely, I, if this keeps up, I think it's going to cost him his job.
I really do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, it's.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think it's just more an unwillingness to use the portal.
I think that's just straight up what it is.
Not even,
never mind that he doesn't believe in it.
He's just not willing to utilize it.
And that's like,
you see that in a lot of sports too.
And like I think with most other sports,
it's more,
or at least from what I've seen,
Mercyhurst was kind of,
Mercerhurst College hockey was kind of in a similar situation, but the coach there, in mind
you, Mercerhurst is no longer a, has a men's ice hockey program as of March of this year.
The coach kind of fell behind on hitting the transfer portal and he was like three, four years
behind before you actually started doing it.
So I think it's a different case than that.
If it's not this year, it might be next year, early next year.
He can't figure out this portal nonsense.
They might just put pressure on him to be like, A, go on now, do this portal stuff.
Still, he's been underperforming.
Like, they've had some, like, last season.
That, that was a stacked team, and they just completely collapsed.
Yeah.
The other thing I had was Rutgers losing to UMass.
Is this like your first win against a Power Ford team ever?
I'm not sure.
I'm not sure ever, but it's been a while.
Yeah, I mean, this is the same team.
This is the same UMass Minuteman that, you know, lost to Bryant last year, an FCS team.
and you're telling me, Rutgers paid UMass to come,
come to Rutgers and get their ass kicked.
$1.5 million down the drain.
And mind you, mind you, Brian finished four and eight last year.
To really, really top things off.
Who knows?
Maybe UMass turned a corner.
Maybe this is a step in the right direction.
I think they got a lot of transfers from what I heard, saw.
So they're already doing.
better than Clemson.
Shopper.
Yeah, the worst football team in all of FBS hits the transfer portal.
I see the difference between USC and North Dakota State, the crowds, it was Week Zero.
It was like, USC was like barely half full and North Dakota State sellout crowd.
Yeah.
And that was North Dakota State's first FDICT.
BS game.
Who is USA playing?
Probably some bum-ass team.
It would have to be, yeah?
Yeah.
Yeah, Fresno State, 39-0.
Yeah.
Man, gone are the days of Derek Carr and Devante Adams.
Gross.
Devonte Adams was there for that spanking, by the way.
Oh, who-hoo.
Nice.
I'm pretty sure he was.
Yeah.
I guess could segue back into the end of the
I think it's the most we've talked about.
Speaking of abuse.
Yeah.
I think that was the most we've talked about college football in a consecutive span that wasn't involving the draft.
Or just prospects in general.
Tua, name the starter for the Atlanta Falcons for week one.
It's wild because what was it?
We were just talking about how the fal- there was.
a report that said the Falcons can't even like consider them as a starter right now.
Yeah.
Here we are.
Yeah.
So this is more so or at least the report said that this was more so because Panix was still recovering right now from the injury at last year.
So they're kind of giving them a little extra time to recover.
So that's going to be kind of interesting once we get to week two and week three potentially.
But, yeah, Tua is the starter.
So if you drafted Drake London or Bijon, boy, sorry to say, man.
Bejohn might not get that affected, but Drake London and Kyle Pitts may be affected slightly.
Man, all I'm going to say is this.
Tua, you can't have any bad games.
Because the moment you have any bad games, you know what they're going to do?
they're going to pull up the Juski video and point at you.
You can't have any bad games.
So congratulations to him.
I'm happy for him that he's now the starter for Atlanta.
I'm not sure if Atlanta's happy he's the starter.
But again, it was either him or Pennix.
So I guess this is, I'd rather have a questionably healthy quarterback than an unhealthy one.
So it's like in their book.
I hope Tua can get back to his Pro Bowl days,
and he can lead this team to something in the absence of Pinnock's.
But I don't know, man.
I'm just a little worried for Tua,
because I'm not sure if that line is strong enough to protect him from himself sometimes.
They've got to play Pittsburgh week one.
Oh, he's definitely getting CTE.
Oh, that's going to be a rough start.
Yeah, that has the potential to that.
may have the potential to maybe be the worst game of the weekend.
No, no.
We'll have faith in them and say the O-line does well,
just stop the Steelers and their blitzes and all that stuff.
Yeah, I mean, at that, I guess at that rate, you know.
They have no choice.
It's also week one.
Like the Steelers and the Jets week one was an absolute banger last year.
It was.
It should not have been that.
No, it should have been.
It shouldn't have been a banger, but it was.
And hopefully this has the same.
same makings of a game, but if it's Tua, I don't know which version of Tua I'm going to get.
So, yeah.
I'm not sure how I feel about this if I'm Atlanta considering the circumstances, but I don't have
any other choice unless we're putting in that rookie that we talked about a while ago,
and I don't think that's going to happen.
Yeah.
T.J., any thoughts?
Oh, oh, Falcons.
Nah, it's over.
Like they literally said, we don't know how we can start them.
And then they're just going to start them.
And honestly, this is looking like it might just be a rehab year,
maybe like a sit-and-develop year for Pennix.
Or at least may not year, but at least a few games of the season.
They're just going to let them sit, like, develop them more.
And I get that.
I do.
But I don't even think Kevin Stefansky could save two at this point.
You know, he, like I've mentioned, his brain has turned entirely to liquid.
He's thrown up gang signs, every other game, you know, with the hand fencing.
Okay, no, no offense.
That's actually messed up.
I'm sorry, I apologize.
But he was so terrible.
He was terrible in practice.
He was terrible in the preseason.
and he was terrible in between.
And you just said, yeah, sure, let them start against the Steelers in week one.
A team, by the way, that features T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig, and Keanu Benton.
As a Patriots fan, this is eerily reminiscent of what they did with Chicobee Brissette during Drake May's rookie year.
It's like, all right, go out there and die.
Will we develop the young buck?
They still thought of Houston.
Tua, I salute you, though, buddy.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
I mean, at least, you know, you've got pits, you got London, you got Bijan, but, oh, can you get the ball there?
Maybe, we'll see.
But my hopes aren't high for such things.
They shouldn't be.
And they shouldn't be, unfortunately.
All right.
Now let's get into the good shit.
Let's get into the really good shit.
Oh, here we go.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We're, uh, hmm.
We're talking about football now.
Yeah, we're talking about some fucking football here.
We're talking about some fucking football.
The rematch of the Super Bowl, Wednesday night, 820, Seahawks versus Patriots.
Seahawks opened this week as three and a half point favorites.
To the New England Patriots.
there's quite a few storylines here man there's a lot of good storylines here yes um i saw this one
thing and it was basically that um in the last two years only five players ever made from uh only
five players ever made from bill bellichick's last draft class so that's really more uh
three or four year span at that at that rate but still um
and only like to remain from Gerard Mayo's loan draft class.
Holy turnaround.
Holy turnaround.
Yeah, I think that at the end of the day still, like, in terms of the Patriots, you know,
I think Mike Vrabel and some people still have a lot of points to be made considering that
in terms of the comments about the depth, there is a good point to be made there because of how shit
the drafting has been in terms of late rounds.
But I'm not talking about the Mike Rable two draft class so far, obviously,
because they're about to be in year ones and year twos.
Can't talk about them too quickly just yet.
But, and that's obviously been the conversation around Bill Belichick at the end.
But this team, man, this team is unbelievable.
defense
like went through a complete overhaul
your one under variable
and then they just got better
they just got better
the offense
AJ Brown and Romeo Dubs
cinema
straight cinema
Ciox
Vegas
they lost some pieces but there's still a good team
they're probably
will they win 14 games
most likely not
it's very hard to win 14 games in an NFL season.
But there's still going to be a good team.
It's still going to be a good team.
No Zach Charbonnet.
So here's the Cachdarian price goes as I would assume the loan back or the belled cow back in the back field.
Either way, I think this should be a fun game.
I think this should be a fun game.
and I don't think this is going to be a repeat of the Super Bowl either.
Thoughts from you, fellas.
You think it's going to be a repeat?
No, I said I don't think it's going to be a repeat.
Oh, okay, okay.
I do think this game.
I mean, if I'm going to think it's a repeat, I think it's going to be a repeat the other way around.
But no, I don't think it's going to be a repeat.
I think the NFL season is going to start off with a freaking bang.
If it's not this game, it's most likely going to be the next game.
watch it be the one game I don't want excitement in this
game just like last year
I think this game is going to be a lot closer than it was in the Super Bowl
I think these teams know each other well enough based upon what happened last year to make it
a battle I think it's going to be a defensive showing
I think it will take a while for AJ Brown and Drake May to get on the same page
especially when there's actual live bullets firing and all so on
I think Sam Donald and Jackson Smith and Jigbo will pick up where they left off.
I'm not sure how I feel about Judarian Price yet.
Hopefully, hopefully we'll see what he's got.
I think that Patriots defense will still be stellar under Mike Frable.
But they did lose some pieces, but the biggest question is whether or not Christian Gonzalez will suit up.
I've been told he will suit up, thankfully.
So I don't think that there's too many concerns over there.
But I think what comes down to is the Seattle Seahawks offense versus the Patriots defense.
If the defense can stifle Sam Donald a little bit more and actually generate a pass rush to stifle him,
I think this game can actually go the Patriots way.
But we'll see.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Patriots as of yet.
I think they're fairly good.
and the additions they added on offense will make them fairly formidable,
but also some subtractions like Kashon Bouti for some reason,
even I guess it's because of the contract year.
But the subtraction of him and the connection they had will make me wonder
who's going to pick up the slack in that department.
But I think this is going to be a fairly good game.
I think it's going to be a little nip and tuck back and forth.
I think if you're a fan of football, you're going to enjoy this game.
I think Seattle will just barely nudge it out by three points.
I'm not sure if it'll be a game winning field goal, but three points should do it.
C.J.
Who, boy, I, I'm not going to lie to you guys.
I am expecting an ugly game.
I'm expecting this to be probably a lower score than the actual Super Bowl was.
it's going to be a slog.
For New England's side, I'm not going to sugarcoat it.
I don't think they did enough to address the pass rush.
I mean, maybe if Ockis breaks out or Draymont Jones,
who's kind of streaky can do something, that'd be cool.
They're not going to have Harold Landry.
They let Chase on Walk in Free Agency, but Gonzalez is going to suit up.
I don't understand, tuck, no offense, or you've got this idea that he won't.
that question
Gonzalez wouldn't suit up
yeah you say oh he's not going
it's like you're that they don't know where you got that
but he is
that I'm not attacking I'm just saying
like I've seen nothing that would say
that he wouldn't but regardless
so there's that and honestly
I think New England I think they're just going to be
rusty they're going to come out
sluggish because none of their
starters played in the preseason
and they're not a very deep team
Rabel himself acknowledged that
And yeah, that's going to be rough.
Like, I think they're going to take a while to gel.
And Vrable kind of has the problem Bill Belichick did.
Where Chris, you'll remember, even at the peak of the dynasty,
the Patriots were known to start kind of sluggish.
Like weeks one through four, they would go like two and two,
maybe an ugly three and one, one and three worst case scenario.
Then there would just be straight nails the rest of the year.
Brable's kind of the same way.
And at least he was with the Titans, and it was last year as well.
However, the Seahawks, they're a little banged up.
There's a, apparently Nick and Monroe won't play, and their other safety, Okado won't either.
They also had to pay the Super Bowl winners tax, which was getting picked clean in free agency.
Maybe Judarian Price breaks out.
Maybe he doesn't.
I know the offensive line last time I checked was, I think they're going to have everyone,
but they're going to be a little banged up.
you know, without guys like Rik Wollen and Boye Maffei, I'm wondering how they're going to be, you know?
And you know, like you said, no Charbonay either, no Kenneth Walker.
Like, they, they lost a lot.
And, but for me, I think their biggest loss isn't being talked about enough.
Uh, your offensive coordinator, Clint Kubiak.
Clint.
What?
Clint Cuvia.
That is him, right?
Yeah, you said it right.
Okay, yeah.
But like, and the thing is, I just, I'm not trying to be doom and gloom.
I'm not hating.
I just, and I have said this for years now.
And Chris Tutk, you probably remember, that I am on record saying,
replacing a stud coordinator is probably one of the hardest things to do in football.
Yes. Like when you lose an elite coordinator replacing him is always hard.
And within the first few games, there will be growing pains.
And I wonder that's going to affect JSN because you remember, like historically, look, it's going to sound like I'm hating and I'm not.
But JSN has been a product of coordinators.
Like, remember Shane Waldron?
Yeah.
I remember.
And then, of course, he gets Clint Kubiak and he goes off.
Although then again, who was, I think they had another one to say.
I think it was like Ryan Grubb or whatever his name was,
where he was better than Waldron, but he still ended up getting canned.
But, you know, JSN's offensive player of the year, well, year, did come from
Kubiak.
And I'm wondering, like, does he take a step back?
I don't think he will because JSN by himself is a, is a,
damn good player.
But I am wondering
what's going to happen,
especially how it's going to affect Donald, too.
That beat.
So, yeah, I'm expecting a very ugly, low-scoring game.
I think the Seahawks just eke it out.
I'm going to go with the Patriots.
I'm going to go with the Patriots winning.
Okay.
I want to get this.
What a shock.
I think the bats can win.
I think it's week one.
Anything's possible.
So, yeah.
Give me the Pats by three.
Anything's possible.
That's what you're reading powerful.
Yeah, yeah.
Not because Drake May is going to take a step forward,
not because A.J. Brown is a stud.
Not because your defense is formidable.
Not because you think that offensive line will take a step forward
instead of a step back.
Oh, well, I definitely, I definitely think that the offensive line is going to take a step forward.
I mean, defense was already really good and they got better.
There's not much else to be said about that.
But the O line 100% got better.
And that was the biggest reason why they lost in the Super Bowl was the O line, amongst other things.
So I think that they upped it pretty good on the O line, I'd say.
So if we're going to go with the difference maker, it's going to be that, if there is going to be one.
I thought it was just going on strictly vibes and belief.
Well, yeah.
I mean, it's week one, you know, like, freaking, we see the dumbest shit happen in week one all the time.
Oh, dumb.
I know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Doug, did you give your pick?
Yeah, I said Seattle.
Okay.
I said Seattle.
Yeah.
All right.
Time for some dumb shit.
All right.
Let's get into some real dumb shit regarding these two teams, mainly the Patriots.
ESPN needs to chill the hell out.
Why are we bringing up the Mike Rable,
I never seen any shit two days before the game.
What the hell?
Too soon?
No.
Not that it's too soon.
It's like, brother, everybody forgot about this story.
Like, why are we?
Why are we bringing it?
Great timing.
Great.
Hats off to you.
Hats off to you.
To fucking world's.
leading sport channel.
I just, I don't know.
It's just
I know what they're doing.
Yeah, no, I do. I just,
I'm not going to lie. If you're still like,
huh, my favorite with the Andrew Sini,
I got two words for you, whoever you may be.
Grow up because you're a clown and I'm a
rabble for God knows how long.
But meanwhile, all the shit with
the Niners owner,
hiring a prostitute in a sting operation
at an Ohio trailer park
has already been put on the back burner.
You know?
I still don't understand.
No, no, like, why?
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
why don't you making any jokes about that?
I was making jokes, but it happened.
No, no, no, but the point is,
you were bringing up Rable for weeks,
but now it's like, oh, no, no, no, with this,
nope, just one episode,
and now we're just going to have it,
fuck off into the Aether.
I'm just saying a lot of people are like that.
I'm not a good look.
Did we want to bring back
the prostitution stuff?
I do, it's funny.
We haven't talked about the 49ers,
but we can talk about them.
We literally did.
Chris and I think brought it up.
But where did we?
I don't remember.
The last few weeks just kind of blend together.
I thought you guys did because we definitely were.
We talked about it.
Yeah, but like I'm just saying like I don't understand why Ravel Rucini was like such a big thing.
But then in terms of like legality, this Jed York thing happens and it's already just like gone.
Like that's that's a little weird.
That's like a little weird.
Like they weren't talking about the scope of the.
law and like the actual ramifications it could have chat why are we not talking about this
that's all you ain't wrong you ain't wrong um any other storylines funny serious any other ones
that you guys have in mind in regards to this game outside of the fact that it's dumb and
shit that this game is on a Wednesday.
This game in particular?
No, nothing.
Nothing.
Good.
Good.
Thursday night game is Rams 49ers,
which will technically be on a Friday in Australia.
Walla.
Fala.
Oh, my God.
The matchup, this matchup is just great.
This matchup is great.
Great.
The Super Bowl favorites
versus the 49ers.
Hell yeah.
I think the Rams are going to cover
and then some.
They're going to win by seven.
I'll just lead off with that.
I mean,
oh,
this.
I feel like that the Rams
are going to start off with a major
fucking bang this year.
Like, this is a team that cannot
fall flat on its face in week one.
I saw a video and it was this guy that was training in slash that was teaching Miles Garrett how to hit harder, harder.
Like brother, he's going to take off Brock Purdy's head.
He's going to, he's going to kill somebody.
Yeah, he's a menace out there.
And then we didn't even talk about Aaron Donald.
Oh, we did last week, actually.
we didn't talk about with you yeah and then there's that guy on the other side yeah who are you going to double team because of erin donald's still that guy that is a problem because then you have byron young on the other edge 12 sex then you have puna ford that they got way too many guys like why aaron stay in retirement but that that defense is
Stellar.
Oh, they got way too many studs out there.
And then I feel bad for the 49ers.
I do think it's going to be more than seven.
I think it might even be a blowout for how bad this could get.
I do think they could blow the doors off the 49ers if they're not careful.
Yeah.
Rams also do relatively good in international games as well.
They're one of those teams that fly, I think they're one of those teams that fly in, like, that they're just in and out.
They're in and out of London.
They're not spending more than they, more time than they need to.
So I'm kind of curious as to if they're sticking with that or when the 49ers are coming in.
That's just my weird niche little thought there.
But not to say the 49ers aren't bad in general either.
That's just how good the Rams are.
and they're kind of short-handed wide receiver-wise,
no Ricky Pearsall, but still got Mike Evans.
Still, I mean, it's still a good team.
George Kittles playing, right?
If he practiced today, then he probably would.
It's going to be iffy, though,
given how banged up he was at the end of last year.
Yeah.
He's in good shape.
He's in good shape.
Bosa to face Rams.
Kittle trending that way too.
Yeah.
27 minutes ago, actually.
Someone's out there.
Someone's up at 1130 at night.
Right over.
It's about Nick Bosen, George Kittle.
I love it.
Or 9 o'clock at night.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, true.
You're not wrong.
Aaron Donald, feeling good as Rams opener,
approaches as well.
Oh, Tuck, you weren't, you weren't in last week's episode.
Dejan Love.
Is he a stud?
Oh, he's quite the stud all right.
But $1.3 million.
But that's besides the point.
If in doubt, call Deshaun Love.
He can get you out of a bind.
Oh, man.
Oh man
I wish you were here for the conversation last week
CJ and I were absolutely pissing ourselves
He's an absolute route runner
I will say that
I'm just
I'm laughing thinking about the conversation again
Because like
It's a little over
Two
A little over two dozen women
Which also means that there was probably way more that said no
Yeah
Or did research and look at a Niners roster
Yep
Yeah
But you're also telling me that over a dozen women
Didn't do their research?
Come on
Oh my God
I mean who's walking around with their helmet
That's just
Great
Apparently a dude on chargers as well
Yes he's doing that now
Because of Deshawn
Yeah
Way to go
Good
stuff.
CJ, your thoughts on our matchup here.
Oh, my God.
Why?
Why is it?
Okay, I know technically it is Thursday night in these United States, but Australia,
really?
The land of kangaroos, giant spiders and shark-tooth necklaces?
What are we doing here?
never want like I've said before I never want to hear the foreigners complain about oh I know
and likes mac in football again because uh I promise you that game's going to be sold out
and the Rams are obviously favored in this game rightfully so um I do wonder though if
it's going to take that defense some time to gel what with Aaron Donald Miles Garrett
Trent Mcduffey and Jalen Watson getting added in the same offseason but we
said it before, I'll say it again, sky's the limit for the Rams, all right? We can all
admit that. So, that being said, I want to see how this Niners O-line handles both Aaron
Donald and Miles Garrett. And at this point, I mean, even if Kittles healthy, who knows
if he'll be 100%, because Chris, you played football, Tuck, you played football. You guys
that being healthy versus being 100% are very different things.
Yes.
And, you know, they'll have CMC, but do they really have anybody to, like,
beer in the receiver room?
You've got Christian Kirk.
You've got Debo Samuel, but no Iuke.
I think pierceal's hurt.
Like, you got Mike Evans, whose hamstrings have been good and tenderized with an electrical substation.
you got rookie de jean stribling who you reached on in the second round i i'm not going to lie to you
i like the rams hitting the over on this the over saying we're going uh what is the over
saying going over 48 and a half no i meant like sorry i meant i got the rams covering and then some
Yeah.
I mean, it's probably going to be over 48 and a half so well if we wanted to go that route.
Probably.
But yeah, I got the Rams, sorry, I got the Rams going over three and a half or covering whatever.
Yeah.
44.5 is the over-under on the Patriots Seahawks game.
It's a good line.
It's a good line.
Yeah, I think that's solid.
Yeah.
I think the 49ers, though,
they will be competent on offense because I don't know how they'll be incompetent with Calh,
Shanahan.
Well, I'm glad you brought that up because I got a report for you, too.
Now, listen up to this.
It says a former 49er staffer who remains connected to the organization speaks on the state of the team.
It's pretty ugly inside the York family right now.
They're scrambling.
there's been a lot of weird stuff going on even before Jed's arrest.
And another quote from her current NFL GM, something is off there.
They're slipping.
So apparently their owner's whole thing is maybe matriculating down to the team.
Funny.
I haven't heard that.
I haven't heard that.
I did not hear that either.
It's on JPA football.
man interesting
nice
anything else in regards
to this game regarding
story lines or anything else
I want to see how
Erudald does though
like let's see how he is his first game back
yeah
I'm very excited to see
Aaron Donald play football again
but I'm also curious to see like
how it ends up going
like how much rust are we going to see
if any
will he still be dominant?
Will he be 80% of the player that he was when he retired?
It's going to be interesting.
Probably.
What, 80%?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I could see that as well.
Cool.
Well, that is our kickoff preview.
And with that as well, we're back to two episodes.
Oh, my.
Burn.
Burn.
Also let the record show Adam try to be on this episode.
He just had a really early morning tomorrow.
So we'll get him back.
You know, the entire gang's going to be back.
Yay.
God bless America.
God bless America.
Any other NFL storylines we wanted to touch on,
or just football storylines for that matter,
since we've been talking about college football
that we wanted to touch on before we end the show.
Arch Manning is over.
and I'm so tired of seeing his highlights knowing full and damn well he played Texas State.
I'll take whatever I can get at this point.
If he can somehow pull it off and be a Manning like Eli and Peyton will be just fine.
I don't understand why Shador Sanders was called an entitled Nepo Baby.
Meanwhile, Arch Manning's traits are arguably worse.
that's a good question
not like think about it
he's still entitled
I mean he's just as entitled
if not more so than Shador
I mean but
but it's just that he's a manning
I know the rule of football
is that you never talk
all the mannings you got kiss the ring
but I am not under the NFL's jurisdiction
I am not under ESPN's jurisdiction
I shall do no such thing
like beat a good team
and not just beat like a good team
not just be like a good ranked team, like actually play well in that game.
Because he beat some teams last year and was playing pretty poorly.
Who do they face coming up?
Ohio State, the Ohio State University, if I do say so myself.
Oh, on Saturday at 7.30?
Oh, I'm not going to lie.
If he actually shows out that game, we're going to have to show us out.
If he shows out that game, then I'll withdraw most of what I said.
But, like, yep, he will go number one overall if he shows out that game.
But that's a huge if.
Other good games we got on Saturday.
I'll mention Ohio State and Texas.
That's not this week.
Oh, I'm looking at last week.
Jesus, fuck, I'm an idiot.
Boston College.
sticking on Rutgers there you go
The match teams go
2 and O against Rutgers
That'd be nice
Oklahoma, Michigan
That could be interesting
Oregon, Oklahoma State
Bama, Kentucky
could be interesting
No it can't
Could
Unlikely
Oklahoma Michigan
Yeah
Who's Oklahoma State playing again?
Oregon.
Huh.
Oregon looked kind of weird against Boise State.
I'll give him.
I'll say that.
But, oh, I want to see more out of Drew Mestemaker before I say, yeah, he's a league ready.
Because right now I don't think he is.
Fair enough.
There's only one game that I'm excited to see.
And the other ones are like, we'll see.
Iowa and Iowa State on NBC.
That's always a good rivalry, but I'm not jumping out of my.
my chair for it.
Yeah.
I was ranked top 25.
How about that?
Hey man.
That Iowa defense is no joke.
It's never the defense.
But it's all about the office.
Yeah.
That is a joke.
You guys want to take a crack at what the most ridiculous spread of the weekend
right now is?
Well, I don't have all the games in front of me, so I don't know.
Well, just take a crack at the number.
One team plus 33 and a half.
Talk?
40.
The Miami Hurricanes, 7th ranked team in the nation are 55.5 point favorites at home against Florida A&M.
Oh, well, oh, that's how.
It hurts.
I'm pulled for Florida A&M now because how funny would that be.
that's one of those like that's that's one of those true like we're going to pay you a fat
fucking amount of money to get your shit kicked in oh is that nothing but though you know what
i i hope it's a minimum of competitive game you know shout out fam you you guys
i believe in you yeah yeah i like it all right um anything else no that's good
