On today's episode of the Fumble Ruski podcast, it's our annual Ruski mock drafts.
Who's going top five?
Who are the Ravens going to pick?
Who are the Pat's going to pick?
Trades?
Three of them?
Maybe more?
All that more along with general NFL news like Dexter DeLorts traded to the Bengals,
Will Anderson receiving a three-year extendo.
Brandon Aubrey is the newest, highest paid kicker.
in the NFL.
All that and more, this is the Fulmleruski podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the stat sheet,
but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Welcome to the Fumble Ruski podcast by Pyrity 18 Radio
and Secret Weapon Consulting.
Chris Goss, it's here back.
And as always, CJ Maderos and obviously can't have the mock draft without CJ since he is our certified draft day guy, draft guy in general.
Happy Patriots Day to all those celebrate, mainly us New England slash Massachusetts folk.
Of course, when you're listening, it won't be Patriots Day anymore.
Speaking of, you know, Boston Marathon, I don't know if my uncle was tracking as a day.
Dano Charra. He was running like a 7.09 mile.
Dude's a freaking horse.
Dude is a horse.
Yeah. Of course, you know, socks are on as well.
And socks were up and now they have to have Chapman come in to save the day
because they can't hold a five run lead.
But how's you guys' weekend other than that?
Decent can't really complain much after the Ravens,
with their uniforms. It was a pretty relaxed
weekend. I went
out, went to the gym,
saw the Orioles lost,
got annoyed, but other than that,
not too bad.
CJ, what about you?
Oh, my weekend was wonderful.
Great time. I had the gang, had the
fellows over, you know?
Just a grand old time. It was one of my friends.
You guys,
you guys met him.
Dylan, it was,
We had birthday weekend.
Happy
People ate it.
Yeah, we all went to be in the place.
We hung out of my house.
It was fun.
You know, just good,
good weekend with the gang.
Very nice.
I love to hear it.
Love to hear it.
I just was at Holy Cross pretty much all weekend.
I'm sorry.
It's all right.
Did three or four
Holy Cross Navy baseball games
and also directed a
one's lacrosse game for Holy Cross.
First ever
went against a ranked opponent
and Loyola Maryland.
Oh.
Which.
That's actually pretty good.
Sidebar about Women's Across.
If you know anything about Loyola, Maryland in terms of Women's Across, they only just
lost their first ever regular season Patriot League game, which is the conference that they're
in.
Earlier this year against Army, they were undefeated in regular season Patriot League play.
That's how fucking good they are.
Wow.
Yeah.
Wow, indeed.
Speaking of shocking things that happen,
Dexter Lawrence traded to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Oh, Lord.
Oh, Lord.
I mean, talk about a guy in John Harba saying,
fuck you to your old team and trading one of the better defenders in the league
to your division rival.
How about that?
How about that?
Um, but when you, when you look at, you know, Dexter Lawrence had requested a trade.
You didn't really know if anything was going to happen.
Hey, CJ, something happened.
Something happened.
Impossible.
Would you say Kim possible?
Impossible.
I thought you said Kim possible.
Like, uh, like the show.
Yeah.
I'm aware, but just like, son.
What are we doing?
What are we doing?
How do you feel about it, CJ?
How are we feeling about this trade?
I'm just quickly looking up the details real quick,
just to get everything up, just to get everything sold.
This is a trade.
This is a trade.
I will give it that.
This has got to be one of the most random trades in recent memory.
And what do the Giants get back?
Oh, you know, just the 10th overall pick.
Bengals gave up the 10th overall pick for a guy coming off a down year on an expiring deal.
I know Dexter Lawrence wanted more money, and I know he did get, like, what was like a one-year, $28 million extension, but dude, if you wanted long-term money, I don't know if Cincinnati was the place to go.
But, yeah, Giants absolutely fleeced the Bengals.
I mean, at least for the Bengals, this gives them a little more wiggle room for the rest of, like, the draft to focus on, you know, the defensive.
backfield in the offensive line.
So, yeah, also, but like Chris said, that's a big old, oh, that's Coach Harbaugh,
giving a big old middle finger to his former team and saying, yeah, here's this really
scary elite defensive tackle coming to your division.
Yeah, take that, Ravens, no offense.
Tuck.
So, yeah, that's where we are.
This was just a random trade.
I didn't think it was going to happen, but something happened.
that's wow yeah and you kind of figured maybe something was going to have obviously
improbable of course because you know as CJ loves to say nothing ever happens um and
obviously harbaugh after the fact that dexter lawrence had requested a trade basically was like
hey no one is no one's off the table like everyone could be up for trading including dexter
And lo and behold, I mean, I feel like if you're being offered the 10th overall pick straight up for,
as we mentioned, a guy that's on an expiring deal and doesn't necessarily want to be there anymore.
I mean, fuck it, why not?
But, tuck, since this affects your team essentially being the division rival,
give me your thoughts.
Well, it immediately helps their deem line, which they so desperately need to consider
the circumstances.
I think that that's one of the main good things about it.
Unfortunately, they had to give up the number 10th overall pick, which is staggering to
me because, you know, everybody knew he was disgruntling in New York and asked for a trade.
Why the hell would you give up a first round pick when everybody knew he wasn't worth
that much?
Not as a talent just based on the situation and his injury history.
But the Bengals are going to bangles.
They gave him a one-year deal extension worth $28 million,
so after two years, he can just walk.
So basically, within the next two years, it's Super Bowl or bust.
This is what this move tells me.
And he's doing it in a division that lost two head coaches that were at the top of the division.
This might be make or break for Zach Taylor this year.
If they don't win the division this year,
and if they don't fix that defense quick-fasting in a hurry,
he's gone because they can't go through another season
where their offense is clicking and their defense can't stop a soul.
I think it's a decent move, but not the best of moves, considering the circumstances.
Because if you wanted to pay someone $28 million, you just got rid of Trey Hendrickson, who was right there for you.
If I'm Trey Hendrickson, I'm putting Joe Burrow on the ground every chance I get.
So I think this is a solid move.
I think Dex Jones is going to come in with something to prove because he does.
He instantly helps to be aligned with the addition of Jonathan Allen.
So, I don't know.
I think this is a good.
pick, but I'm not sure about the long-term ramifications of it just yet.
Solid, but it depends on how well he fits into that Cincinnati defense.
But they did get better at this offseason.
Yeah.
And, you know, when you look at it on the Giants end, I mean, now they have two first-round
picks, both being in the top 10, amiss a slew of other teams that have multiple first-round
picks.
So kind of a
draught is getting
a little bit more interesting
as the day goes or as the
as the month goes essentially.
Don't go on his first year
at the New York Giants
immediately has two first round picks.
Immediately.
Insane.
Insane.
You top 10 first round picks and yet he couldn't do this in
Baltimore. What was stopping him?
I don't know, man. I don't know.
But, uh...
I used to Costa.
I said, that's a question for DeCosta, isn't it?
Yes, it is a question for DeCosta.
But congrats to the Giants, they can make significant additions to the O-Line
and potentially give a weapon to Jackson Dart on the offensive side of the ball
or attack their more glaring need on defense.
Yeah.
Both sides are glaring, but defense may be the bigger issue
or had the most reward in this side of the draft.
Looking at this article that came out yesterday or on a Sunday from Jordan,
Raynon, Jeremy Fowler and Ben Baby.
Lawrence traded to the Bengals, straight up for the number 10 pick.
Talks with the Bengals started two weeks ago.
Sources with knowledge of the trade basically said that first inkling with another top 10 pick
could be within reach, return for the dominant defensive tackle.
Multiple sources indicated the Giants wanted a significant haul for Lawrence
after trade conversations with the team.
Those same sources came away thinking that any deal would begin,
would begin with a first round pick.
But when the Bengals offered the 10th overall pick,
that even surprised the Giants
and to the point where nobody was going to beat that.
So it was basically,
basically the last line would be
anyone else in the top 10 would have to try to offer their pick.
That was basically it.
Yeah.
I understand it based,
Based upon his age, he's on the right side of 30, which is under it.
So I think this will be fine, but I don't know.
But Cincinnati made adjustments, and they are trying to get better.
And based upon their draft history, it's probably a good thing they got rid of the top 10 pick.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Moving on, Will Anderson received a three-year extendo from the Houston Texans.
Good money and worth every penny.
Oh, very much, very much.
I don't think there's anything to really,
I don't think there's really much to say other than that, honestly, unless, C.J.
Yeah, I actually think this was an incredibly smart thing for the Houston Texans to do.
One, get out ahead of the market.
And two, this sends a message.
And it sends a message to C.J. Stroud, who, you know, was there other first round pick in this class?
That's saying, hey, we just got an extension of Will Anderson.
Notice that we haven't done that with you.
And they're basically saying, we feel more comfortable putting our eggs in the basket of Will Anderson than we do in the basket of you.
So I like to think this is like a warning shot across the bow, as it were.
also makes Will Anderson the highest paid non-quarterback now in NFL history, which I mean, I feel like does that really matter at this point?
Because it's just going to be broken next year anyways.
It doesn't matter for this.
It's the other reasons.
It's a story.
It's a headline for you that's going to change.
And like, like, remember last year it was what?
Max Crosby was the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history for like a week.
And then Miles Garrett got paid.
Yeah.
But that's how the domino's fall.
But good for him.
No, it is.
One of the anchors of the defense.
But, yeah, I would be looking at C.J. Strow, like, you need to step up now.
Bryce Young is starting to end in those conversations with you.
He's actually improving.
You're taking steps back.
We need you in the playoffs.
Just be better.
I think he is capable and will be better.
But good Lord, C.J. Stroud, you are throwing.
the bag away quite metaphorically and quite literally at the rate you're going.
Yeah.
So this extension deal includes $134 million and guaranteed money.
Average annual value of $50 million and a very rare no trade clause thrown in there as well,
which I found very interesting.
They gave him a no trade clause?
Yes.
Is this the first time that's happened?
I don't know if I don't think it's the first time that's happened, but it's definitely, it's definitely rare for that matter.
Because like, I mean, not saying that Will Anderson is old by any means, but like when you think about, you know, Will Anderson's 20, he's the opposite of old.
He's 24.
But, you know, it's some of these contracts and some of these guys, you know, it's, uh, you tend to not.
especially these highest paid deals.
Like, yeah, when you go, like Max Crosby
didn't even have a no trade clause.
Like Miles Garrett doesn't have a no trade clause.
Like to give you an idea of how rare this is.
Yeah.
So that's kind of crazy to give him a no trade clause.
But if he continues to play like that, like he did last year,
why would you move off him?
Yeah.
Absolutely.
He was second in defense.
player of the year voting.
Deservately so.
Yeah.
Keeping with guys that got paid Monday in particular,
the day that we're recording earlier,
Brandon Aubrey,
now the newest, highest paid kicker.
And this was one of those weird,
this was one of those weird, like,
under the radar things where Brandon Aubrey was kind of up Dallas's ass.
It was like, hey, pay me,
which is not something that you often hear about in terms of kickers.
which Brin and Aubrey has a fucking cannon of a foot, very accurate in his own right,
along with being able to hit 70-yard bombs, pay him.
And that's what Dallas did.
Yeah, it was weird that, you know, if you knew the situation that a kicker was going to go after Dallas,
but I just think it's funny that for once the kicker has the leverage, because let's be honest,
For some reason, I don't know why.
I haven't really looked into it.
It just feels like kicking in the league has gotten so much worse.
If you have a good, reliable kicker, then you have to keep him.
You cannot get on, you know, we talk about the QB carousel, the coach carousel.
I feel like not enough people really consider how horrible the kicker carousel is.
Because you think it's simple, but it's not.
and if you have a reliable one,
they're practically worth their weight in gold.
Yeah, 100%.
I mean, it's not often they get like
Patriots had a career kicker.
The Ravens had a career kicker.
The Chiefs currently have a career kicker
and Harrison Bucker.
Actually, the Patriots went like damn near 20 years
of having career kickers from like Vinotteri to Guskowski.
And then they went, what, like five years or so
of Nick Folk and now we're on Andy Borogallis,
which, I mean,
I'm not saying he's a career kicker for the Patriots right now, but I'm kind of just...
He is promise.
Yeah, he has a lot of promise.
But anyways, like, it's like there's not many other guys that are career kickers,
unless it's like Robbie Gold and he's jumping around from team to team or Nick Folk.
Yeah, Nick Folk, another guy that, yeah, I just named Nick Folk.
He really wasn't good, ironically, until he went to New England.
But still, he's, he's, he's, he's a good.
guy that's been in the league for a long fucking time.
Granted, he doesn't have the same leg that he used to, but he's still incredibly accurate.
Yeah.
Congratulations to Brandon, Arbori.
I think he's deserving of this just based upon how he played last year.
Yeah, the question is, Cowboys, what are we doing with George Pickens?
Mm, yeah.
He's the next one up.
Are you going to pay him like he's supposed to?
Is he going to accept lower?
I kind of want to see how this plays out.
I don't think Pickens has signed that franchise tag yet either.
I don't think so either to my knowledge.
Because he's expecting to get paid.
And Cowboys want to pay him too, but they just haven't gone to it yet.
So maybe now that they got this kicker shit out of the way,
maybe now that they're going to turn their focus to George Pickens.
Yeah, I think it's either you get it done now or you might not get it done ever.
he might just sign the franchise tag now
but if a contract were to be done
it should be done now
now that you've gotten all the distractions out the way
and you can focus on him
just looking at SpotTrack right now
I'm just looking ahead for what the cap space
is going to look like for Dallas for next season
um
well Dallas is currently projected to
be towards the bottom
in terms of cap space
for next season
not in the red, but could be.
Could potentially be in the red.
We'll see.
In terms of it, just to wrap up on Brandon Aubrey, though,
four-year, $28 million extension becomes the highest pay kicker in NFL history.
Deal includes 20-milled guaranteed, also a record, which was formerly held by, well, Harrison Bucker.
Estimated value of 25.6, guaranteed of 15.
So, yeah, Aubrey blew those numbers away.
Also tops Miami Fairbairns $6.5 million for the highest average annual value for a kicker.
Anything else we want to touch on from Bray and Aubrey?
No, not really.
All right.
No.
Since you guys missed this on Thursday, we'll quickly touch on the new uniforms that were released this past week or last week.
The commanders, the Rams, and the Ravens.
Did I miss anyone?
No.
I think for this week, you didn't miss anyone.
All right, cool.
The Ravens introduced a new next flight set with a midnight purple trim, new wing-inspired collars, updated helmets, a new black alternate helmet as well.
Tucker, how are we feeling about the new Unis?
When I saw the all black, the Darkness Falls uniform, I was like, oh, that's a lot.
tough especially with the helmet the all black help that would I was like oh that's so tough
oh he's so tough he's so tough especially when Trey Henson walked out with it for the live
presentation of them I was like damn these uniforms are so good they look they look good
too and one of the we'll have one of those games where Cincinnati's wearing the all white
angle tiger uniforms and us wearing the all black uniforms and it would be just amazing so
can't I'll need to see that that would be
be so cool. It might be on Sunday night
football. That's when it might happen.
Oh, yeah. I mean,
in terms of the Ravens, I mean,
it's really, I feel like just like with the
color scheme that the Ravens have, it's
really hard to make a bad jersey.
I feel the same way about the Chargers
as well. Yeah.
Yeah. Because they always have top flight
uniforms, but I think
the Ravens, maybe I'm a little biased
at the best uniforms. The
commanders uniforms look good as well,
but, you know, they just prefer
it back instead of doing anything like new.
It kind of gave that little retro feel from back in the day.
And I was like, that looks good, but it still looks modern.
So it's modern but retro, though.
Like, that's the thing is that that's how their uniforms used to be.
And that's what, like, most commanders fans wanted anyways.
Yeah.
So the Ravens uniform was good.
Yeah.
I really liked the Ravens uniforms.
I remember, I'm not even a Ravens fan,
but I was a little afraid when they said they were going to announce it.
It's like, oh, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
A few tweaks, but it was really, really good.
I think it was really worth it.
The commanders, I really like what they did there,
especially their alternate logo with, like,
the black helmets, got the W and the spear through it.
Make that your primary logo for the love of God.
I beg of you here, you're breaking my heart.
But those are great.
I like those.
You know, you don't need to rock the boat too much.
Just do it effectively.
Yeah.
But then, then there's the Rams.
I like the uniforms.
I think the solid color numbers are good.
I like the tweaks on the shoulders.
I think that I think those are good.
My issue is the logo.
See, even though I was ever crazy about the logo, the gradient worked.
The gradient made it pop.
but then you just made it yellow
not even a pleasing yellow
mustard yellow
dehydrated piss yellow
that's what we're looking at
who who saw that and said
yes I think this is a very good idea
no shame
Brams fans
shame they hate it then damn you to hell
I mean to be honest
to be honest it took people probably days to figure
out what actually was new about the Rams uniforms to be.
Yeah, I had to look very hard to figure it out.
They didn't have the like the name tag anymore.
I thought that was good.
That like I said, the solid color number was good and the tweaked horns on the shoulders
I liked.
Yeah.
Now I'm the logo.
The logo.
What the hell were you thinking?
Yeah.
Now I'm actually, now I'm actually noticing like the the shoulder part like the extra horn
and whatnot.
I also noticed like I also noticed how the number isn't really isn't gradient anymore, which
like, I just never really was a fan of gradient on uniforms anyways.
Probably depending.
Like, I didn't like the Falcons gradient.
I kind of like the Rams, not really.
But I just like the-
Logo, though, works.
Yeah, no, great, no, I can get with gradient on the logo.
The only issue is with the logo.
That's disgusting.
No, I can get with gradient on the logo.
Don't hit me with the stupid gradient that the Jaguars had, too.
Like, you know, if you get gradient on the logo, that's fine.
Just don't put it on the uniform.
Absolutely.
Because then you start looking like a fucking AAU team.
This ain't AAU.
There's been five uniform changes.
Brand new brand looks.
Rank them real quick.
Yes.
So it's these three.
Titans and Falcons.
Which way are we going here?
I would have to go probably.
If we're starting with the best,
I would say it's the Ravens.
You could swap the commanders or the Titans.
I was thinking the same.
Then the Rams,
then the Falcons.
I'm hip-up at.
I'm fine with that.
Yeah, I was going to probably put like Titans second,
commander's third, but.
I think you could flip.
Yeah, no, you definitely could.
Because the Titans, I like the Unis.
The logo, like I said, doesn't really do it for me.
Yeah.
I'm still like the Titans.
I just like everything about Titans, to be honest.
But anyways.
All right.
Anything, any other general news that's on the bill?
Outside of the E.J. Brown news that keeps popping up every month.
No, we're not doing that.
Not till it happens.
No. Until then, we, yes, we, the three of us are going all in on nothing. I'm pushing my chips to send of the table here. We are going all in on nothing.
Yeah, I'm not going anymore near the Diana Rosalini story. So, yeah, I mean, yeah, there's not really much different that's coming up out of that, really. I did hear that apparently the New York Post gave the Patriots a little bit to extend time to respond to these allegations, which I guess Robert Kraft was like.
like you better not you better not fucking do this apparently according to corn to sources but
yeah I unless something actually major comes up out of it outside of the normal you know
society talk and whatnot of people talking about recine as a journalist and
for able as a coach then there's not really much to talk about anymore with it.
No no you're right.
All right.
We're going to take a quick break when we come back.
we're going to get into our Fumble Ruski mock draft.
This is the Fulmurusky podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the staff sheet,
but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
All right.
Mock draft time.
Mock draft time, baby.
Come on now.
come on now
Oh beautiful
So beautiful
This is the best time of the year
For C.J. Medeiros
Yeah
And you know
And historically as a Patriots fan
Being a fan during the draft
That uh
That was very scary
But I was pleasantly surprised last year
Could I be pleasantly surprised
Second year in a row
Somehow I doubt it
But we can only hope
Yeah facts
All right.
Let's get into it.
I'll run the banners if you guys want to take over.
Oh, yeah, sure.
Thank you.
All right.
All right, kids.
A draft guy is speaking.
Listened and learn.
Here we go.
However, first, a quick disclaimer.
If there is a trade between now and the time this episode drops, it's not our fault.
And whoever did the trade, I hope, I hope, I just, you know, I'm not going to say what I was going to say, but I hope that it failed.
And also another disclaimer, of course, for those that are new to the show, only the first round.
We are not doing all seven rounds because that is fucking ridiculous.
And it would take forever.
Yes, only the first round.
Oh, also, a quick little spoiler alert here, kids.
Usually we don't do it.
We've only ever done it once.
But because this draft, as I mentioned before, is so horrifically asked backwards, we decided to throw some trades in.
two specifically.
So, without further ado, for real this time, here we go.
Oh, is that tuck drumming in the background?
Nice.
All right.
So with the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft,
we believe that the Las Vegas Raiders will be selecting Fernando Mendoza quarterback out of Indiana.
It's not we believe.
It's everybody believes.
Yeah.
I mean,
pretty straightforward, no.
No.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's move on with the second pick.
We have the New York Jets taking Arvel Reese linebacker out of the Ohio State University.
The.
I love it when they say that.
I know people don't like Ohio State, but I think the V is funny.
I do.
What's the reason for the V?
I don't know.
I don't know.
You guys continue.
I'm going to look it up.
Yeah.
As for Arval Reese, for a while, it was between him and David Bailey for number two.
But after the Jets canceled their top 30 visit, or the second one or however that works with David Bailey,
I imagine that that means all signs are pointing to Reese.
Tuck, do you agree?
Yeah, I agree.
So, yeah.
All right.
I have, you got the reason?
Yeah, it's just a quick AI overview from Google because I don't want to do too much of a deep dive.
But it's to emphasize its status as the as the flagship institution in Ohio and to officially distinguish itself from other universities with OSU abbreviations such as Oklahoma State or Oregon State.
And as a branding strategy as a branding strategy to highlight its unique identity.
The use of V is part of its legal name since 1878.
Whoa.
So.
How about that foresight in those times?
Yeah.
Quite.
Who would have thought that those motherfuckers during Reconstruction era were about the marketing, huh?
Hey, good for them.
Yeah.
So for a third overall pick, we have the Arizona Cardinals selecting David Bailey, edge rusher from
Texas Tech.
Bailey,
how do I put this?
He kind of reminds me of
Trayvon
Walker or Tyree Wilson
where this is a pure upside
pick.
Bailey is extremely raw
and I feel like the Cardinals
are hoping that if they could tap into
his potential, they could have a generational
edge rusher.
And if anyone's anything else to add,
at the end of any of these picks,
shout it out.
All right.
Now,
Pick number four, and this is where things get a little silly boys and girls.
We got the Tennessee Titan selecting Jeremiah Love running back from Notre Dame.
This pick does not make sense.
I do not believe this pick should happen.
Even though, like I said, I am a Jeremiah Love fan, the dual threat ability is...
I think we're all Jeremiah Love fan.
You have Tony Pollard and Tige Spears, but we also know the Titans are extremely smitten with Love as a prospect.
So, you know, this is, this seems like something that they would do to get Cam Ward a new weapon.
You know, he can, he's an electric runner.
He's a legitimate dual threat back.
He's not a running back who can catch.
He is a dual threat back.
I mean, it's early yet, but as a prospect, I kind of put him in the same bubble as like Christian McCaffrey,
where you have to respect his catching ability as well.
So pick number five.
The New York Giants will select Caleb Downs, safety v. Ohio State University.
Now, for me right here, I think it's a toss up between him and Stiles,
but you know how John Harbaugh is.
This, Caleb Downs is a Harbaugh guy.
And, Tuck, I think you would agree, given that you know Ravens Ball better than anyone here,
or at least Harbaugh better than anyone here.
So, hey, Giants get a new safety to pair with Javan Holland,
and all will be right with the world.
I mean, if you think about like John Harbaugh-led teams,
it starts and ends with the defense too.
Exactly.
So moving on to pick number six,
we have our first projected trade.
The Cleveland Browns will be trading out of the top 10
and moving upwards is the Dallas Cowboys
to take Sunny Stiles linebacker
from the Ohio State University.
Now, CJ, real quick.
Real quick, I would like to explain the reasoning for this trade.
I was going to get there.
Oh, sorry.
Okay.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Yeah.
So remember how I mentioned that Caleb Downs is a hardball pick?
Sunny Stiles is a Jerry Jones pick.
The Cowboys are kind of becoming the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFC.
The offense is electric and it's clicking every game, but the defense can't stop a nosebleed.
They need help.
I mean, I know we like to make fun of their porous pass rush,
but they need help really even more so on the second and third levels.
You need a field general in the middle of the field.
That's why they swing up there they swing this trade.
Also, there are rumors that the Browns are looking to get out of the top 10.
And since I do believe as it sits right now,
depending on how the board shakes out,
because like I said, it's going to be a very weird draft,
I think they're the most likely team to trade down.
And with the Cowboys allegedly being itching to trade up,
I just think it's a match made in heaven.
The Brown, for reference, do end up going to pick 11.
I was about to say, is this pick swap?
Or no, pick 12.
I meant, pick 12.
Dolphins are 11.
Brown's now going to 12.
So moving on to pick 7.
Let's keep the Ohio State train rolling, baby.
The Washington commanders will select Carnell Tate, wide receiver,
the Ohio State University.
Oh, that kind of rhymes.
Tate and State. Cool.
So let's be real.
Debo Samuel, I don't believe, is back in Washington.
And while we all love Terry McLaurin, we can also all agree, he can't do it by himself.
So why not pair him with other Ohio Statewide receiver and Carnell Tate to alleviate some of the pressure?
Not to mention getting Jaden Daniels' new toy for the offense should
I won't say get the commander's backing contention, but it should make them respectable after that dumpster fire of last year.
So moving on to pick number eight, we have the New Orleans Saints taking Rubin Bain Jr., edge rusher from Miami.
I know the Saints don't necessarily need an edge rusher, but I want you to walk with me here.
Cameron Jordan is gone, Chase Young is forever injured, and Carl Granderson is really inconsistent.
So Ruben Bain, come on down.
You are the Cameron Jordan replacement.
And I know much ado will be made about his arm length or whatever propaganda.
You want to believe about that.
But I like him.
I think he fits the same scheme.
And he's just a pure power guy who can get after the quarterback.
Moving on to number nine, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Yeah, it was weird.
They finished bottom 10, but what are you going to do?
Kansas City Chiefs are going to select Mansour, I believe it's pronounced Delaney,
corner from LSU.
The Kansas City Chiefs got worse this offseason and by a lot.
But nowhere, I think, really felt the pinch more than the defensive backfield.
Your corner one in Trent McDuffie and your corner two in Jalen Watson are both gone.
You need any kind of DB help, so why not?
take the best corner in the draft with Delaney.
Pick number 10.
Hey, remember how we were talking about the Giants trade?
Well, here we go.
We're going to see it bear fruit.
At pick number 10, we have the New York Giants back on the board selecting Francis
Maui Noah offensive tackle from Miami.
I know some people might say maybe they should take receiver.
Maybe they should double up on defense.
You know what I say?
You gotta protect Jackson Dart, especially from himself.
Andrew Thomas is a hell of a left tackle.
Who's on the right side?
Noah is as good as Maui Noah that much, I promise you.
So, I think this is also another Harbaugh pick,
a good, smart pick that he'll use to protect him.
Going on to pick 11, the Miami Dolphins select,
Jordan Tyson, wide receiver, Arizona State.
Miami needs help everywhere.
They have one of the weakest teams in terms of talent in the league.
But at wide receiver without Jalen Waddle,
your number one is probably going to be, what's his name, like Malik Washington.
Yeah.
Or whoever else they may have signed.
Or that guy they got for the Cowboys, Jalen Tolbert.
So, truthfully, you need anyone to soak up targets, and if Jordan Tyson could stay healthy, he and Malik Willis, I think, are going to be best friends.
Pick number 12.
Well, Cleveland Browns traded back to 12, as you know, and they will be taking Spencer Fano, tackle Utah.
The Cleveland Browns, I think, were the first team ever last season to have every one of their starting offensive linemen be a free agent.
And you haven't really adequately replaced all of them.
So why not grab yourself a good blocker for Sanders or Watson or Gabriel or whoever you're going to have back there with Fano from Utah?
Moving on to pick 13.
Speaking of Utah tackles, we got the L.A. Rams taking Caleb Lomu, the tackle from Utah.
I like Caleb Lomu as a prospect, and well, normally, especially mock drafts I've done before,
I've had them going defensive back, but they address that.
They address that and then some.
So why not go all in, take a sturdy, reliable tackle in Lomu, and try to go all.
in this year because I think this year, I won't say it's an hour and every year because I don't know
how much Stafford or how much longer Stafford wants to play. But I think the all-in starts now,
and it starts with Loma. And Tuck, I know you're going to be excited for this one.
At pick 14, I have the Baltimore Ravens taking Oliva Vega-Ione, guard from Penn State.
And Tuck, I know last season, every time it was like, oh, I hate my right guard.
play. Well, Daniel Falile is gone, and Oliva Vega, Iona, or Ione, is it?
Thankfully, we need this. We need this, and I'm happy we take it. Imagine we don't get him
and we get someone like Sadiq, who don't get me wrong as a stud and the best I didn't
out there in the draft, but we need line help more than we need weapons right now, I think.
Yeah, it was him or Sadiq, really, because I can see.
if the Ravens don't take Sadiq, I could see him maybe sliding a bit, but, you know, just because
tight end.
So, yeah, I do think this is the right choice of the Ravens, though.
Moving on, pick 15.
We're going to get a little spicy here.
I got the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking a Keem Messador, Edge Rush or from Lai.
Oh, yeah.
This high.
This high.
This high, that's correct.
You're that high on the king.
Oh, no, no, no.
I'm just looking at the trends, Tuck.
It's all about the trends.
Keldrick Falk is falling.
And across most big boards, Messador has overtaken Keldrick Falk.
He's overtaken T.J. Parker.
He's overtaken Zion Young.
He's overtaking Cassius Howell.
This is, I think, the natural spot for him.
He is, I would argue, the best pure pass rusher in this draft.
No one in this draft can get after the quarterback better than Messador.
The problem is his injury, history, and during the season, he will turn 25.
However, he's a Todd Bulls guy through and through and he gets to stay in Florida.
Pick 16, we're halfway there.
The New York Jets are back on the board and they will be taking Mackay Lemon wide receiver USC.
Whether it's Gino Smith or whether it's someone else, you need more targets.
Because when you're playing the Jets, odds are your, you know, your, you're,
top strategy is just double-team Garrett Wilson every play. You need someone else, anyone else,
to lighten his load. And I think Mikhail Lemen is that guy. Pick 17, now we're in the back
half of the first round. We have the Detroit Lions selecting Monroe Freeling, the offensive tackle
from Georgia. Left tackle, Eric Decker's future is up in the air.
Apparently they're going to move Penae Sewell to left tackle, which I think he can do.
I know he can do it, actually.
He was a left tackle at Oregon.
But you still need a tackle, and Monroe Freeling just fell right into your lap.
And he's this big, nasty, punishing physical offensive tackle.
It's someone that Dan Campbell would love to coach and mold in the ways of the Motor City.
So pick 18, we got the Minnesota Vikings taking Dillard.
knowing Thienaman safety out of Oregon.
It's no secret that Harrison Smith is old.
Yes.
And they're going to need another smart, hard-hitting, ball-hawking, just defensive leader.
And Theanman fits the bill and then some.
I know that whoever the new Vikings GM is, their temp GM, is going to be doing cartwheels all around the war room when The Anaman, if,
to be fair, if the Edmund falls into their lap.
Moving on to Pick 19.
Hey, here's the aforementioned Kenyon Sadiq, going to the Carolina Panthers.
That's right.
Kenyon-Saddyke, tight-end Oregon, going to Panthers at Pick 19.
I know their GM said he wouldn't rule out taking another wide receiver
because, you know, they went with the dude from South Carolina,
Xavier O'Higate.
They went with Teteroa.
And they said, oh, maybe we might take a third.
So this kind of blends it here.
I do think they might take a pass catcher.
And Sadiq, he can open up the field,
and he'll definitely, he can stretch defenses as good as anyone.
And I think Bryce Young is going to be really happy to see him.
If Sadiq can work on his blocking ability,
he could potentially be a top five tight end in the league.
Yeah, I like this pick because Bryce Young needs another reliance.
go pass catcher. Tedderaw showed up last year.
He might take another step this year.
I think Sadiq will be a good fit for them in what they're trying to do.
Absolutely.
Pick 20.
Dallas Cowboys are back on the board.
And I have them taking Jermad McCoy, cornerback Tennessee.
Oh.
The Dallas Cowboys really struggled to take the ball away last season.
And I mentioned they needed help on the second and third level of the DHS.
defense. Well, Duran Bland can't seem to stay healthy. Trayvon Diggs is gone. You need somebody
and a fully healthy Jermon McCoy fits the bill perfectly. He might need a bit because he hasn't
played in a while. He was hurt all last season. But the upside is there. And a guy like him,
that's another Jerry Jones player. Pick 21. We got the Pittsburgh Steelers taking Omar Cooper
junior wide receiver indiana many people might want the steelers to go db they might want them to go
o line but they have no wide receiver too i'm going to be honest there is no wide receiver too
it's dk mccath and then nobody else calvin austin nobody else that's right thank i just said that
thank you so it really is going to have to be omar cooper junior or maybe they go casey
exception on i don't know cooper has been skyrocketing up draft boards and it would not shock me to see
him go here all right pick 22 we have the la chargers taking keldrick falk edge rusher auburn
falk is another project player where he has the size the speed the strength that you would
want and edge rusher i think he's like six six 270 the problem is he's just another one where you're
buying more to the physical upside because especially last season, the production didn't necessarily
match his ability.
And with Kahliel Mack being ancient, and I mean, at least they have Tuli Tulli Polotu,
but you're going to need somebody for the future after Mac is gone.
And Falk is, in fact, that guy for them.
Now, pick 23.
Philadelphia Eagles taking Caden Proctor, offensive tackle from Alabama.
This is a pure future pick.
Philly is another team that has not shied away from what we call the draft and stash strategy,
where they're not really drafting based on need.
They're drafting based on future need.
And this is probably Elaine Johnson's,
last ride. And for Proctor, you're probably going to want to, like, sit and develop them for a
year and then let them go next year. This, like I said, this is a pure future pick.
Now, pick 24, the Cleveland Browns are back on the clock, and I have them taking Casey Concepcion,
wide receiver, Texas A and M. You all understand it. The Browns need help on offense.
They're the inverse Bengals, where the defense is continually
putting belt to ass, and the offense couldn't, you know, the offense just has all the power of a water pistol.
Concepcion, I think, will pair very well with Jerry Judy and Harold Fanon.
And whoever their quarterback is, I think he's a reliable gadget guy you could use day one.
Moving on to pick 25, the Chicago Bears will select, we think will select Peter Woods defensive tackle from Clemson.
One of the biggest geniuses, huh?
The fact that he's here at 25 is astounding to me.
Yeah, Peter Woods has been one of the biggest draft fallers that we've seen.
And all the analysts agree, I myself, unfortunately, see it.
But hey, that's the Bears game.
I don't think he should be falling.
And the Bears need to be able to get pressure from the interior,
and they need to be able to stop the run.
And Peter Woods does both.
All right.
We have our second trade.
Pick 26.
The Buffalo Bills will be trading out of the first round.
And trading back in is the Arizona Cardinals to select Ty Simpson quarterback Alabama.
No.
Yes.
Look, Ty Simpson is one of the biggest question marks of this draft.
Many people think he's going to go in the first round.
We just don't know where.
But we know someone will trade up for him.
I think it's going to be the Cardinals.
And from the Bill's perspective, the more I look at this, the bills have been a very big tradeback team.
Right?
That's kind of been how Brandon Bean is, right?
The bills are notorious for trading back.
And I'm going to be brutally honest here.
I was looking at their draft capital.
They only have two picks in the top 100.
They're going to need more.
And I think this is,
and I think you'll get the Cardinals,
giving them another top 100 pick or two
to get back into the first round,
take their guy,
and the bills walk away laughing.
So, pick 27.
The San Francisco 49ers will select
Max I Henna,
or Ihenicor, offensive tackle from Arizona State.
Trent Williams isn't getting any younger.
And even still, the other tackle you got there, Colton McKevitz,
I don't know if he's, I think he might have left.
I'm not certain, but even still, he's not the most flashy option you have that tackle.
But Ihenicor, you know, you can probably sit, he's very raw.
I personally don't have a first round great on him.
But I've made peace with the fact that he's going.
in the first round.
And I definitely think he's another,
this is a future pick.
You know, they'll sit and develop him for a year
and he'll take over for when
Trent Williams leaves next season.
Yeah.
I pick 28.
The Houston Texans, we think,
will take Caden McDonald,
linebacker,
or no, defensive tackle
from Ohio State.
I just realized we spelled
his name wrong.
Yeah, but hey, Chris, it's the only one and I didn't see you helping.
Hey, you know what?
Hey.
But everything aside, Houston can get after the quarterback, but now this, this is a stop-the-run pick.
And that defensive front seven is only going to get scarier.
At pick 29, the Kansas City Chiefs are back.
And I have them taking Blake Miller, offensive tackle out of Clemson.
And I know you don't really want to double dip at the same position and back-to-back drafts.
But they drafted the tackle from Ohio State last season.
Simmons.
Simmons, that's him.
The problem is he's hurt.
He was drafted hurt and he was hurt again.
He was literally hurt again last season, and they don't have anyone to back him up.
And Joanne Taylor was mercifully released, mercifully for the Chiefs fans, that is.
So you're going to need another tackle, and I think this is where Blake Miller steps in.
At pick 30, I have the Miami Dolphins taking Colton Hood Corner Tennessee.
Honestly, for the Dolphins, throw a dart at a dartboard.
You're probably going to hit a need.
and ever since that mass exodus of talent from their defensive backfield,
they're going to need somebody who can hold their own in the defensive backfield.
And Colton the Hood is the best corner on the board.
And now, pick 31.
I have the New England Patriots taking T.J. Parker, Ed Rusher from Clemson.
Parker is kind of like Peter Woods, where he's just fallen.
He's been, like, plummeting down draft boards.
And not really due to any fault of his own.
It was just Clemson entirely.
They had a lot of people who could have been good.
Also, like Kade Klubnick and Antonio Williams,
whose stock is tanking because of that nightmare season Clemson had.
But T.J. Parker is a guy who could set the edge.
He could get after the run.
He's a really good pass rusher as well.
And I think he's a guy very able to welcome with open arms,
much like Diana Rucidi.
I'm sorry I had to go.
I, Jesus Christ, but I was, I was going to say, too, I mean, this definitely isn't going to be a draft where the Pats are going to be looking for a wide receiver first round.
And their, their most definite need is that edge guy as well.
Yeah, there are a lot of, I'm sorry, they're all rumors that they'll go tackle, but, and that, that's really more of like the aforementioned draft and stash strategy, which I just don't think New England's in a position to draft for the future right now.
Yeah, like, if anything at this rate, like,
if the paths are going to do anything, like, especially offensively, they've either already done it or potentially already going to do it, right?
And I guess, like, building off the wide receiver point, like you signed Romeo Dobbs, you're not bringing back Stefan Diggs, aka, like, you still have a crowded wide receiver room.
And now you have, and obviously the AJ Brown shit, which, by the way, Kishon Booty rumored to be potentially on the move as well.
in this potential trade.
So, yeah, this seems like the only real first round route that the Pats have.
Absolutely.
And maybe that's my two cents for this segment.
Yeah, I mean, look, maybe they take Cassius Howell, maybe they take Zion Young,
but I think T.J. Parker is the best Eddrushar left currently.
And now, pick 32, reigning Super Bowl champion, Seattle Seahawks will select Chris Johnson,
corner San Diego State. Don't let the fact that he's not for a Power 4 school fool you.
He is one of the best corners in this entire class. The fact, many people have him above Avion
Terrell. And as Terrell is another Clemson guy that's falling, Chris Johnson could stand to gain from it.
And the hype around him has been unreal. So I decided to have a little fun with his next pick.
Not to mention, I think Chris Johnson might fit Seattle's scheme a tiny bit better than Terrell does.
And yeah, they're going to need someone to take over Rieke Wollens' spot,
you know, to pair up with Devin Witherspoon.
And as a whole, yeah, that's our first round.
Very nice.
Very nice.
And for those who are watching on YouTube, these are our picks.
You can screenshot it.
Maybe, I don't know.
But if you want, there, picks one through 32.
This is what we got.
I like a keen Mesidor, but 15.
Hey, I'm just the messenger.
All right, Tuck.
Like I said, I'm just the messenger.
I don't make the rules.
Just think I'm up and write them down.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, that's our Ruski mock drafts.
We don't really have a ton of time for Immaculate Great again, unfortunately.
but we'll use the next two and a half minutes
potentially to talk about what stupid shit
Mel Kuyper is going to rant about this draft
it depends on who falls and who he likes on this big board
so you have to look at that
who's going to be his shudder Sanders this year
that's a good question probably Garrett Nussmeyer
he doesn't think Garrett's going for this round
no but it seems like somebody
It's oh my God, why is he falling around for?
It's like, because he's not that good.
There's a reason why he got benched.
He goes like a discreetler of this draft, unfortunately.
All right.
Anything else that's on our mind before we wrap it up?
Pause.
No, no, that's our draft.
Hopefully we get more right than we get wrong, but that never happens.
No.
Hopefully we all make good picks.
Oh, that's it.
Cool.
All right.
