On today's episode of the Fumble Ruski podcast, week two of the NFL season is here with the Bills in the Lions Thursday night football game.
And we'll have a nice recap of that at the end of the show.
Pick some preview coming up next.
This is the Fulble Ruski podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the staff sheet, but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Welcome to the Fulmary Ruski podcast by Secret Weapon Consulting.
We got CJ, we got Tuck.
We got myself, Chris, here for today.
Week two of the NFL season.
Mm-hmm.
Feels a little different than week one.
You know, week one, it's like, oh, yeah, football's back, baby.
Week two is like, oh, yeah.
football's back, but it's like a different type of, oh, yeah.
It's like, oh, it doesn't feel real that football's back.
It's almost, it almost feels like we're neck deep into the season at this point.
And really, it's like week two.
But any predictions you guys want to make for the Thursday that came outside of the fact that we already said the winners or who we thought was going to win?
I still stand with it.
I think this is going to be an offensive battle rather than a defensive one.
I think it's going to be a very high-scoring game.
I mean, it would be a good prediction to make.
It would be, oh, excuse me.
Both teams put up 30 and gave up 30 last week, so the over-under is 54 and a half.
Also, first game that will be played at the new Highmark Stadium.
excuse me new high mark stadium so that'll be uh that'll be interesting to see it it's a primetime glory
yeah but it's not going to be the same as orchard park no i mean it's still in orchard park
but the o g the o g yes i'll be happy to i'll be forever grateful to say that i got to
experience the OG in playoff form.
Granted, I saw my favorite team get pistol whipped, but
also in negative 10-degree weather.
All right.
Week two, picks and preview.
Let's start out with the first game on the list,
the early window.
Out of the NFC South, the Panthers, two and a half-point
favorites.
on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.
Over under for this one, 43.5.
We saw the Panthers be fucking amazing offensively last week,
but also terrible defensively last week.
We saw the Falcons somewhat competent under Cooper Rush last week.
But it's, they lost the Steelers.
defense was still solid, but they also played the Steelers.
So there's a, this is kind of interesting for me because I, I'm going to say right now,
I got the Panthers winning this game, but I also got that hunch that like,
this could just be the same Panthers as last year where it's like,
you just don't know which team you're going to get.
And for that matter, you could say the same thing about the freaking Falcons, right?
you don't know which team you're going to get.
Who's officially, do we have an official starter for the Falcons this week?
I don't think we have that yet, no.
I still think it's Cooper Rush.
If I were a betting man, it would also be that way,
because we know it's not going to be Pennix.
I said they want to slow-lock that.
And I don't think things are quite dire enough to throw in Jack Strand,
but I still think it's going to be Cooper Rush.
Yeah.
said that Pennix close but still uncertain for week two.
Still recovering, but like Tua is also hurt as well still.
And I feel like there hasn't been really much ground on Tua being the starter for week two either.
And like truthfully, you're probably going to, I feel like you'll end up getting a better game out of Cooper Rush anyways.
than Tua, for that matter.
So picks for this game.
I'm taking the under on the points,
and I think Carolina is going to win this one.
I don't think they'll put up as much points as they did in Winkham 1.
I think Atlanta's defense is very good,
but still, I think Bryce Young and them boys are going to pull it out.
I do not trust that Atlanta offense, even with Bajon Robinson.
I don't think he can carry this whole offense to a W.
So I think Carolina Panthers on the defensive side of the ball are looking for vengeance and they're looking for payback after the abysmal first week that they had.
So yeah, I think the Panthers are going to win this one who go to 500.
You know, these division games, especially in the NFC South, have always been pretty weird to predict, obviously.
that the NFC South as a whole is just a very unsurious place.
That being said, if I were a betting man, I would go with Carolina.
Because until they get the quarterback situation figured out,
Kyle Pitts will continue to put up goose eggs,
which you didn't fancy for those who don't know.
And Drake London's still going to be iffy.
I mean, it's literally just going to be Bijon.
So in reality, it's Beijon Robinson versus the Panthers.
And I like the Panthers.
I like the Panthers too.
I also like Jalen Coker.
I love Jailen Coker.
Yeah.
Chris, I mentioned this off camera,
I'll say again for the viewers.
I picked him up in fantasy as well.
Holy Cross legend.
Yeah, please, for the love of God,
if you haven't picked him up in fantasy,
do so like now.
Most waiver wires have
we're probably went through already today or Thursday for that matter,
but pick him up now if he's somehow still available.
If he is somehow still available, your friends don't know ball.
So Panthers all around.
Yes, it seems that way.
Yeah.
Next game on the list, the Bears, four and a half point favorites against the Vikings
over under is 47 and a half in Chicago.
Cala Murray is still under concussion protocol.
Seems that Carson Wentz is going to be the starter again week two.
Along with that, Aaron Jones is going to be the leadback
because Jordan Mason is on IR.
And just like, the freaking fantasy apps are already projecting a big day out of Aaron Jones as well.
They already, on ESPN, they already project him to be getting 15 points.
for this week against Chicago.
I don't suspect that Chicago is going to put up 59 points again, obviously.
I'd be interested to see how many points they put up against this Vikings defense.
But if Carson Wentz shits the bed or the offense in general shits the bed for that matter
and gives the bears a lot of short field position to work with.
and if the bears just win the field position battle in general,
this could potentially get ugly.
But with that being said, I mean, Carson Wentz also did a good job of getting the ball to Justin Jefferson
and weapons in general in a very timely manner for that.
But I guess the other thing is how much do you rely on Aaron Jones in the run game to try to open that up
and try to make things easier for Carson Wins to get shit done.
Because, like, Carson Wentz didn't have, like, the craziest numbers either.
What?
He threw the ball, like, 17 times in that game.
And he came in after the second drive, like, end of the first quarter, something like that.
So I, like, Aaron Jones is an older back.
He's an older guy.
So I'm curious to see what his workload looks like.
as the lead back again with no George Mason to go with them.
But thoughts for you guys.
Oh, man.
This game can either go really, really good or really, really bad for the Vikings.
I don't see it going any other way.
Carson Wentz can continue to carry his,
which I'm call it from week one into week two,
or he turns into a pumpkin.
starts to be the dud we all think he is.
I don't know.
I think he has the weapons to succeed.
I think he finally feels comfortable in this offense,
but at the same time,
that Chicago Bears team looks like no joke,
and he's going to have to put up a lot of points
to keep up with them, it seems, based upon week one.
I'm not sure that they will.
However, that Vikings' defense is no joke either.
I'm not sure how Caleb Williams will do against this Vikings,
I mean this Vikings defense.
I need to see how that O-line will stack up against that front seven,
but, oh, man, I don't, I think, I think I might have to go to the Bears with this one.
I think the Bears are just the better all-around team right now.
There's still too many question marks surrounding the quarterback position.
and for the Vikings.
And I just trust Caleb Williams more than Carson Wentz at this moment in time.
So I think the bears are going to come out with the victory in this one.
C.J.
All right.
Look, hot take, I think this is going to be a really ugly game.
I don't think that's a hot take.
Okay, good.
Well, I think we're going to see, I won't say a complete regression,
but I think we're going to see the backup bump start to fade.
for Carson Wence.
I don't know. I think Jefferson's going to get his licks in.
I think Aaron Jones can keep the ball moving, but I don't think we're going to see
Carson Wenz come out and just sling it the way he tends to, or the way at least he did
last game when I say tends to, now that his shoulder is good.
But that Brian Flores defense, man, is just a ferocious unit.
And also I have a little concerned about the Bears' defense getting dotted up by Bryce Young.
So, and now they're going to face off against better receivers, you know, like more weapons.
So I do think the Bears, like in Caleb Williams, I think he's slippery enough to where if they blitz and he's able to wiggle out of the pocket, I think then he can really hurt them.
But that being said, I do think that the bears are rightfully favored in this.
I got the bears in probably like a lower scoring game, like maybe like 20, 23, something of that ballpark.
See that?
I'm also going to go with the bears as well.
I'm also thinking that this is like this is going to be a pretty tight contest.
probably over 47 and a half as well.
I'm thinking also like 2320 or 2017.
I don't see the bears covering four and a half,
but I do see the bears coming out on top of this one.
Next game on the list, the Titans and the Eagles.
Titans are seven point underdogs at home.
Guess that line over under?
You should probably take down the ticker for this.
Chris.
Good move, especially because it was definitely going to pop up on the screen in like five seconds, too.
Yeah, I know.
No one, no free rides over here, kids.
Over under, I would say 47 and a half.
Duck?
40.
It's 39 and a half.
Oh.
Whoa.
Oh, because I was thinking they were going to project like a stomping, but, oh, yeah, I guess.
Maybe, I mean, I don't know.
Like, the Eagles offense is always just so fucking weird.
And, like, the Titans also just.
First just threw three touchdowns, though, so, like, come on.
Oh, yeah.
And, like, the Titans often, I think that the odds makers are,
are expecting the Eagles to stomp on the Titans in this game with the way that they set up the over under,
as in a lot of points for the Eagles, not.
much for the Titans,
although the spread is seven straight up for the Eagles.
But, yeah, Titans are in a weird spot.
I saw a video of this one guy that I was basically saying that Cam Ward is just the reincarnation of James Winston.
Oh.
Which, like, when he has, like, I can't lie.
That's foul.
That's foul.
It's foul, but like I see, I saw some of the, some of the clips and I was like that these are, these are some plays that James Winston would make.
Like, we're talking like stupid ass fumbles, but we're also talking like the wildest of plays that like should never work, but somehow do work at the same time.
So there's that, which like, let's not forget, James Winston, the most electric 30, 30 season of all time.
Yeah.
Prior.
And like the weird thing too is like
Cam Ward coming in like to end last season,
10 touchdowns to one interception,
like the final nine games of the season.
And then you kind of thought,
oh, you know, he's making his way back.
Things are looking good.
And then they just play like dog shit
against the
jets.
Now granted, in 10 games,
it's now 11 touchdowns
to one interception,
but like,
there's not much going on outside of that.
Like, he went 19 for 32,
140 yards with a touchdown,
got sacked three times.
It's,
they just,
when you look so piss poor
against another really shit team,
it just doesn't look good at all.
Anyways, Eagles.
Yeah.
I didn't like the way that the Titans looked at all against the Jets.
The line didn't look as good as I thought.
Cam Ward just didn't feel comfortable in the pocket at all.
His mechanics were all over the place, which I thought would get fixed.
I thought that the problems that he was having as a rookie would get ironed out this year,
and that just simply hasn't happened.
So now I don't trust the Titans, since they absolutely got handled by.
the Jets, so I got Eagles thrashing them easily.
Eagles are going to crush and cover.
That's really bothers too.
And the thing is, man, Robert's solid deserves better than this.
I genuinely think he can be a good coach.
I just, wow, does Cam Ward just not look that good at all, be in the stats or the eye test?
And you mentioned over the past however many games, it's like 11 to 1 touchdown interception
ratio.
I'm sorry.
How many was that?
like 10 games?
Yeah, 10 games, 11 touchdown passes.
I mean, look, one interception is good,
but 11 touchdown passes over 10 games,
I would argue, was actually really bad.
Oh, yeah.
It's not great,
but when you look at the turnover numbers,
definitely makes a...
That's what saves it.
That's what dresses it up.
Yeah, but still,
if you're averaging just a tiny bit over one touchdown a game,
I can't offend that, man.
I just can't do it.
No.
Now, it would be very funny if this was
the game that they
somehow win. That'd be
fun. That'd be kind of funny.
If they do win, then I would expect them
fully to win ugly.
Yeah.
This isn't a game where you just show up and you blow out
the Eagles. If you win, that it's going to be,
as you put it, a slumber knocker.
Yeah. The fuck thing for the Titans is that
when you look at the schedule too, like you can look at the upcoming, like the next three games and you're like, damn, like, there's a good chance the Titans might not win until November.
Because after this week, they got the Giants next week, then they got Baltimore, then they got Houston, then they got the Colts, and then they got the Browns to end the month of October.
So they may be able to sneak a win there in right there.
but other than that,
like, if we're just going based off of the performance
for week one, there's a,
there's a chance they win like no more than three games.
I can see the Colts and I can see the Browns.
I don't see where the other one is coming from.
Yeah.
And even then, it's a struggle with the Colts
because I don't think the Colts are as bad as they were week one.
I think they just ran into a juggernaut.
Yeah.
You're calling Baltimore a juggernaut?
based upon week one.
I'm not saying we are just based upon what we did week one,
because that's all I have to go on.
That's a week one overreaction right there.
That's like saying,
am I supposed to say the bears are a juggernaut too?
No.
Yes, in fact, you are.
I would, but they gave up 37.
Hey, man, that's a top three offense right there.
If they keep pace like that,
they will be a top three offensive all time.
Oh, yeah.
Maybe number one with a three.
bullet.
Yeah.
Next game,
Pat's five and a half point favorites at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers over under 41.
And a half.
This was the matchup last year.
And the Pat's stunk it up.
So I'm really,
really,
really hoping this isn't going to happen again.
And this feel,
this almost feels like it's a must win.
that's because it is yeah like it's weak like there's a lot of like it's week too and it feels like
there's a lot of must wins already um and obviously there's the stat that teams that start
oh and two almost never make the playoffs um teams that go own three really don't make the playoffs unless
you're like the 2018 Houston Texans at last year's Houston Texans um so it's uh this is dire
This is dire.
CJ, I'll let you take the reins on this one first.
Thank you.
I cannot, this is a must-win game.
I cannot overstress, or I mean, I cannot overstate the importance of this.
I cannot stress enough the importance of this.
Now, I hate to say it, but I think if they lose here, I think they're going to get demoralized.
I think this is good.
We're going to see players shut down.
And look, Drake May, I have.
hate to say it, but when you look at his body language, you just see nervous energy.
Like, how do you still have the yips in your third year?
Like, I think he's good.
Like I said before, he's just, he's a bundle of nerves.
Rable, I think's a good coach.
The defense is going to do their thing.
But for the love of God, why can't, it's been years.
And they still haven't been able to figure out an offense for more than like one season.
And it gets spotty as well.
So the Steelers, though.
Good Lord, what an uninspiring team they are.
I'm sorry, Air Rogers looks cooked.
The Air Rogers of old is gone.
Now, he's just, no, no, he's gone, I'm afraid.
That defense saved their ass.
Otherwise, they would have lost to Cooper Rush.
And for New England, I really think they need to win this game.
because if you don't, then I'm sorry, you are staring down 0-and-4.
Because if they don't win this game, they definitely don't beat Jacksonville or Buffalo.
It's just not in the cards.
Like, I didn't expect, I, like, I mean, I genuinely think, like, two and two is, like, your dream.
One and three is most likely.
But if you lose this game, then you are going 0-and-4.
And at that point, then it's pretty much over.
Like, your season's basically over.
And like and I hate to say it, but if they do with this game, maybe we need to have a talk about the schedule narrative, maybe being right.
Or maybe oh, Drake may can't be good defenses.
It's whatever, even though he did in the playoffs, but whatever.
But sure, keep making excuses.
But overall, I can't lie to you.
My gut is telling me I think Pittsburgh is going to win.
I can see New England being, having the game.
in the palm of their hand and then just choking because, you know, maybe they,
maybe the offense hits a cold streak.
Because I guess we have it with Seattle where the offense just goes cold.
It's three and out after three and out.
And the defense is just gassed.
But then again, Pittsburgh almost lost to Atlanta.
And let's face it, the defense bailed them out.
They got lucky on like a tip interception with a T.J. Watt there.
at least that's what I think happened.
But I think the fact that it's going to be in New England is enough, I think, to get them over the top.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I'm going with New England.
And I wish Drake May would come out and just annihilate them.
I wish it would just be clamps the whole game.
Unfortunately, I am anticipating a really ugly game, but I think New England just eats it out.
when really not just eats it out, but I think that New England can,
I think they can get it done, like especially in Foxborough.
I'm taking the Patriots, obviously, but the looking at like a bunch of,
looking at graphs.
I like looking at graphs, as you guys know, and analytical shit.
The thing that makes me feel a little bit better is like looking at,
these graphs showing where Drake May is falling with amongst the rest of the league.
And like, yeah, Drake May had his worst game ever week one.
And he's still middle of pack in terms of PFF grades in EPA per play.
In fact, he's right there with Patrick Mahomes, Jared Gough, and Joe Burrow.
Literally.
Right there.
right smack in the middle.
On top of that, too, I know I was pissing on the three interceptions that he threw,
but looking at the graph of bad throw percentage versus interception percentage,
Drake May actually had the worst luck in terms of those three interceptions,
mainly because of the tip drill.
but it was a interception percent was above 8.1,
but he's in this left quadrant of clean throws, bad luck.
And he is the farthest upper left compared to everyone else.
The one that was actually the cleanest and most careful was Gino Smith, surprisingly.
Also, you guys are, you guys will love this.
Stack comparisons for the Chargers, Texans, Broncos, and Seattle.
Let's play this game of name that quarterback.
This quarterback, 60.78% 246.2 yards per game, 1.6 touchdowns per game,
1.4 interceptions per game, sample size of five.
This quarterback, 67.60%, 32.3.3 yards per game, 1.67 touchdowns per game, and 1.3 interceptions per game. This quarterback, that's sample size of three. This is also a sample size of three.
54.10%, 195 yards per game, one touchdown, 0.33 interceptions per game. And this last one is five sample size. Mahomes, 57%. I just gave it away.
57% 24.8 yards per game, 1.4 touchdowns, 1.2 interceptions. So that's Mahomes. Who are the other three?
The other three would be Darnal, Herbert, and, uh, dance.
Well, you would be extremely incorrect. No, I'm just saying because you said charges, Texan, you said four teams.
Yep.
You said, well, one of them is obviously Mahomes, so you eliminated that.
So I'm assuming you said Chargers.
You said Chargers, Texans, Broncos, Seahawks.
Chargers, Texans, Broncos, Seahawks.
Any guesses, C.J.?
No.
Drake May, Josh Allen, Bownex.
Huh.
In that order.
I wrote that completely wrong.
Josh Allen was the best performer of the four.
and you could say that Bo Nix was theoretically the worst performer of the four
if we're going off of a completion percentage in yards and touchdowns for that matter.
The average QB is 60%, 204.5 yards per game, 1.2 touchdowns per game and one interception.
That's my stat.
Tuck, your pick.
for the Patriots Steelers game.
Yep.
I think this is a bounce back game for the Patriots.
I think this is a desperately needed one.
I think they have no other option but play balls to the wall.
Because if they start off 0 and 2 and the bills start off 2 and 0,
that's a mighty steep hurdle to climb this early in the season.
So I think the Patriots are going to come out with a fire,
and I think that defense is going to be a little more than what the,
Steelers' offense can handle at this moment in time.
I think they're going to apply some pressure.
I think they're going to get to Rogers.
I think they're going to make it move.
I think that I think the Patriots offense are going to get right back on schedule.
I think week one was just an aberration.
I don't anticipate Drake May throwing three interceptions in the fourth quarter.
I think he'll play a lot better than what he showed in week one.
And I think he'll do just enough to get his team the victory.
I think it'll be very close, a very hard-fought victory, and I think Drake May will show you that he is the franchise quarterback of the future and deservedly so.
I think this will take a lot of pressure off the Patriots, putting them back at 500 and only potentially one game behind the bills, unless the bills lose against the Lions.
So hopefully this is just a get-right game.
just get back to normal.
I don't think the Steelers are like world beaters.
I think they're tough, but nothing the Patriots can't handle.
I think this may be like, we're just overreacting to week one.
I think the Patriots will be just fine.
Good deal.
Jets Packers.
Packers are three and a half point favorites on the road to MetLife over under 44.
And a half.
This is the deals, I don't know why, but I feel like Jets could potentially win.
this game. The Packers are winning this game because they have to win this game. It's not even
they should. It's a half to win this game and it's already week two. If they lose to the jets,
I don't care how good they look for week one. Week ones are already an apparition. If they lose to
the Jets in week two, that means they would have lost the last, what, six games in a row, including
playoffs and God forbid they have the lead and they lose that too against the Jets.
The last time this happened was like the 90s or the 70s, I believe.
I can't recall when it actually happened.
If that is the case and they lose six straight in a row, oh my God, they might, I might
change my mind about Matt LaFleur.
He can't lose six in a row and he can't beat to the Jets.
They have to win.
They have to dominate.
They have to look impressive.
while doing it. I know that's going to be a tall ass, but damn it,
you don't really have much of a choice. I don't care how good the Jets looked against the Titans.
It's the Titans. I'm still not convinced about the Jets just yet. I need Jordan Love to look
like Jordan Love on Toyotathon right now. I need the defense to step up. I don't care of Michael
Parsons isn't there. You guys look good for three and a half quarters against the Vikings.
and then it just the damn burst
and you guys gave up 22 points.
Not all of it your fault, just bad field positioning
and penalties at the wrong time.
I think you guys can win this without Michael Parsons.
You don't have a choice.
You have to win this.
Because if you start off 0 and 2 and an NFC North,
you're probably not going to win the division
and you're probably not going to make the playoffs
based upon how tough this division looks this year.
So Packers, get your shit together.
and won this damn game.
CJ?
I would like to say preemptively,
Jets fans, welcome back down to Earth.
I think the Packers are going to roll in
and they're going to handle their business.
Well, like, genuinely, that's what I think's
going to happen. I think they're going to
bounce back. The Jets are going to realize,
oh, we cannot play the Titans for 17
straight games. Because have you seen, like,
Jets fans, like, talking shit to, like,
Bill's fans, oh, we're tired with you, we're better
of the Patriots. I had a Jets fan
say to me online, huh, look at the
standings, how's the weather down there?
And I ratioed him.
And I said, it's at, weather's bad.
It's a drought. A playoff drought.
Think of course me.
His comment got
like 20 some odd likes.
Mine got like over 300.
I'm like, yeah, it's a drought. A playoff drought.
Yeah, like I said, like fucking think
before you speak to me, gangreness.
I can't say the word I was bad to say.
If you really want to go a step further, the longest playoff drought in pro sports right now.
Yeah, no, he didn't respond either.
But, yeah, no, they had a solidly ratio.
It was wonderful.
But, yeah, no, I do have the Packers winning this, and I think they're going to,
they're going to win quite handily.
Yeah.
If the Buffalo Sabers did not clinch a playoff spot this year,
then the Sabers would still be right there with the Jets.
oddly enough.
And like they both, both teams,
prior to this past spring,
when the Sabres clenched to playoffs,
they were basically flip-flopping back and forth
of longest playoff drought.
And the real funniest thing about it is that
the last time that both had made the playoffs was 2010.
Yeah, I'm going to go with the Packers.
I still don't really feel comfortable saying that they're going to really handle their business like that right now.
Just because the way that the Packers have played without Micah Parsons has been dreadful.
But I guess it all comes back to the fact that if they get out to a 21-0-0-0-lead, they just need to keep their foot on the freaking gas pedal.
That's all it is.
Give me the Packers by four.
Next game.
Tampa Bay and Cleveland.
The Baker Revenge game.
However, it's not in Cleveland.
Temp, guess the line?
Tampa's favorite.
I don't trust the Brown, so I'm saying 35.
Damn.
That is.
It's not the line I was asking for, but you're not correct on over-under.
CJ.
Sorry.
I'm sorry.
Are we doing over, under spread?
Spread.
That's.
Browns plus eight and a half.
Mm-hmm.
Tuck?
You think the, oh.
Minus.
Minus.
Fuck.
Sorry.
Same shit.
Different bowl.
Well, actually, yeah, correct.
Yeah, correct.
Because Browns plus would be the underdog.
Tuck.
Browns
Plus 11
It's 8.5 is the spread.
Ah, nice.
Yeah, this is as much
Yeah, this is as much of a get-right game as get-right games get.
And apparently there's like discourse online that Browns fans are like secretly shitting,
like hating Baker Mayfield for
whatever reason, even though he's not the reason why he left Cleveland.
If they want to be pissed off at him for playing injured and playing like shit, fine,
be that way.
You also got to blame someone else for not having a sack of nuts to pull him off the field
and tell them, no, you are actively hurting the team.
So it's a two-way street.
But yeah, I got bucks by a million here.
There's just no way.
Wait, wait a minute.
Browns fans don't like Baker anymore.
Like, that's that hatred is so misguided.
They're trying.
They're trying to find any sort of spin zone.
I mean, I get it.
I get it.
But just be mad at your own shit-ass organization for running him out the door and replacing him with a rapist.
No, I'm not going to mince words.
This is kind of like, remember that viral video of 50 said reacting to someone Floyd Mayweather said.
He's like, what do you say?
fuck me for that's how i feel like baker mayfield should talk to brown's fans or what are you saying
about me for you know i played her if i'm baker i'm saying i played her i put it all on the line for you
i won you your first playoff game and god knows how long got you to the playoff game since like
oh set got you to a playoff game since like oh seven and and i played hurt for you and you replaced me
with the sean winestein no
that that was disgusting behavior you gave a predator who had it played in over a year because he sat out because he didn't like the Texans anymore which at the time valid i am not going to lie but his actions were but not liking the Texans is valid but still you gave that malcontent a five year over 280 million dollar fully guaranteed contract no no no you deserve it get out of the spin zone just face reality give them those uh uh what's it called there those are
clockwork orange like eye-opener things and make them listen to the truth any hate to baker mayfield
is utterly just disgusting i got i got the bucks by belt meaning they're going to put the belt to
these browns uh i don't think baker would have it any other way i think if they lose this game
baker's going to lose his shit and if they do lose we have more questions about the buccaneers
then we previously thought i don't think i think this game is going to
be a very rough game for the Browns because if Deshawn Watson looks like look the way he did
against Jacksonville and the Buccaneers had their way with them like the Jaguars did,
you're going to have a real uncomfortable situation going back home to Cleveland because the
worst possible thing that's going on that could happen is about to happen.
So if I was them, I'd do everything in our power to make sure Deshaun Watson looks presentable
to Cleveland because if he plays like that.
Like the way he played last week, they're going to boom out the damn stadium.
But still, the Bucks are going to win this one, get to one in one, and then go from there.
Yeah.
There will be at least two teams going one-on-one in the NMC South this week.
I was about to say, did anyone win in the NFC South this week?
No, they did not.
Okay, so like last week, everyone's entering O and one.
So I was like, yeah, no one has a foothold there.
At least two teams are coming out one in one.
I can tell you that much.
Speaking of which, Ravens, Saints,
Ozmakers are disrespecting the living fuck out of the Saints right now.
Ravens are favored in half at home over under's 46.5.
Which is crazy to me because the Saints were one like really shitty rep ball call away from potentially
actually beating the Lions last week,
which we didn't talk about it on Tuesday show,
but the Saints got hosed.
Yes.
Calling a backwards lateral,
an incomplete pass,
I still don't even understand the rule behind that, to be honest.
But who would have thought,
bingo card, new rule pops up week one
that no one has ever heard of.
So, talk, how are we feeling about this week?
I'm feeling comfortable, but again, I'm a little nervous.
I don't have Zay and I don't have Jacoby Lane, so I have to ask DeVontes Walker,
and I have to ask Elijah Surratt to step up.
But I'm not worried about them, because if they step up, good.
If not, I kind of expected it.
It's their first week actually getting more playing time in the regular season.
I'm talking to you, Rashop Bateman.
I already told you once.
going a donut is not good.
I understand that Lamar said you did well,
even though you didn't get the targets
and you didn't get the numbers that we are hopeful for.
This is your week to step up.
Hopefully you and Lamar can have a great connection
and you do well in the absence of Zay
and the absence of Jacobin Lane.
I need him to step up to be our wide receiver one.
Because I'm kind of worried about the saints.
I think they're underrated.
I think they can be a problem going in.
going into their division.
It doesn't matter if they started off 0-1.
They could be 1-0 right now,
especially with the way that offense looked.
Chris Olabe is definitely a problem
and our defense is going to have our hands full.
I expect the Ravens to look good.
I expect us to look solid.
I think Lamar's going to look like Lamar.
I don't think there's anything too dangerous about this game.
Not to say the Saints aren't dangerous.
I just think the Ravens are just overall
a better put football team.
right now. If we can rely on Derek Kimrie and the running attack, I think the Ravens will
be just fine because I do not believe they can hang with us for four quarters. I think they're
good. I think they're solid, but I'm not sure how I feel about the Saints as of yet.
Week one, they look good. Week one, they got hoed. I'm not sure how they're going to do away
in Baltimore against this Ravens team. I got the Ravens winning. I'm not going to say plus eight.
I got us like plus four.
CJ?
I think, you know, look, I don't know the gambling lingo, but I think the saints end up covering meaning, I guess.
I still think they lose, but I think they lose by less than what they're projected to.
I can see this being like a real nip and tuck kind of game where it just keeps going back and forth.
You know, maybe a little on the uglier side, but I think come the fourth quarter, the Ravens just going to probably pull away.
like which means our good friend tucks gonna sweat become the fourth quarter it'll be able to breathe
i wouldn't say that if the game is closing the fourth i'll still be sweating fair
yeah i eight a half is a lot to cover like anything above seven or eight is
tends to be a lot of points especially like in a match up like this where we saw like
we saw the Saints offense be able to get hot in the second half.
Like I just, yeah, I'm not sure.
But like at the same time,
this also just feels like a different Ravens offense in general.
And we saw that last week.
And it's like they're running Lamar from under center now,
which is great.
It should have been,
I mean,
should have been doing that all along.
And look how he did.
Look how the Ravens' offense performed.
Fucking phenomenal.
because now you have the really extreme threat of,
never mind, Derek Henry in the backfield,
where's Derek Henry actually going to go?
And you can utilize that to open up,
open it up with play action,
which, as we saw from last week,
Lamar torched the Colts via a lot of play action,
outside of obviously Derek Henry running a muck on him.
I also hope Chris Olive,
obviously he's not going to get 10 catches 100 whatever yards again.
182.
Yeah.
I hope he puts up another good performance, though.
I hope this isn't just a one-off and Chris Oliva can stay healthy for a full 17
and put himself into maybe the conversation of top 10 receiver.
I hope so too.
When he's healthy, I think they're a better team.
I just hope he's healthy.
can stay healthy.
Yeah.
Texans Bengals.
Texans are two and a half point favorites at home against the bang.
I don't know, though.
Bengals have been, you know, this year and last year, pretty good to start the season.
Defense is a lot better this year.
I almost want to go for the upset right now or the upset and take the,
take the Bengals, but that Texans defense still really good.
But like me, unless like last week was a sign that they might not be as good as we might think.
So this is a little interesting.
This is a little interesting, say the least.
Do I, I don't think the Texas defense is giving up 36 again.
But I mean, with this Bengals offense, who fucking knows?
Screw it.
I'm handing the button.
Bengals are going two now.
No, back years.
I think the Texans can win this game.
If it was at Bengals, I probably would lean towards the Bengals,
but since it's at Texans, since Texans are home,
I think they have the potential to win this game or an easier time winning this game.
I think CJ Stroud, if he can continue to play at this level,
We'll pose problems for the Cincinnati Bengals defense.
Even though that defense looks good, I'm still not sure how I feel about it yet.
It was only week one.
I think the Houston Texans defense is coming out with something to prove,
and they will make it miserable for Joe Burrow.
They will blitz him.
They will send pressure.
They will send heat.
Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson will make life miserable for Joe Burrow.
And I think that offense of the Houston Texans is going to be just enough to get the W.
Hopefully they can perform like they did in week one.
I think I see no reason for them not to be able to continue this.
I got the Texans winning this one.
They got something to prove this week.
Look, week one, you know, week one miragions aside,
We got the Bengals' defense versus the Texans offense, the stoppable force versus the movable object.
Oh, boy.
But, oh, man, that Bengals defense versus Texan's offense is going to be something.
It's going to be something.
That being said, I do believe that the, I don't know.
I never saw the Texas defense get eviscerated like that.
But conversely, Jamar Chase doing that disappearing act in week ones concerning.
However, call me crazy, but I can see a shootout here.
And if you think Jamar Chase is going to let himself get strapped up two games in a row,
then I have some beautiful beachfront property in Wyoming.
I'd like to sell you.
Let no.
But again, stinging ain't no.
joke.
Okay, neither's
Jamar Chase.
Which is why I don't think
he'll get strapped up, but it's not going to be
like, he's not going to have like over a hundred
yards. I think that's going to be like the issue.
All right, cool.
Then, I can see him having a touchdown.
I don't know.
You know what? I think I like the bangles.
Probably like a walkoff field goal.
I like it.
Joe Burrell also has a like weird back
injury going on right now too.
He said, they said he's going to play.
Yeah. Maybe something monitor for this weekend. Yeah. All right. Take a quick break. When we come back, we'll get into the late window. This is the Fulburski podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the stat sheet, but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns. Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie. Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
All right. Week 2, late window. Start out west. Denver, two and a half point favorites against the Jaguars at home.
Two 405 games, three, four, 25 games. This one's at 405. Over Under's 45 and a half.
Boy, another case of like two teams that are coming in on opposite sides of the spectrum, one team blowing out a really shitty team in the Jaguars.
and the other being the Broncos and losing terribly on Monday night football against the Chiefs.
One of my favorite things that I saw was the passing chart of Bow Nix after the game because, no, it's Bo Nex and him and Mahomes, or excuse me, him and Drake May always get compared.
most of his passing was barely crossing the line of scrimmage.
The average depth of target for Bowdox in week one was 3.86 yards.
Corian de Novig, for reference, the average American watches TV from about 3.67 yards away.
Now, the main culprit you could say is that Sean Payton isn't calling the plays at the moment.
they're having someone else do it right now, which interesting.
Davis Webb.
Sorry?
Davis Webb, Broncos OC.
Yeah.
Davis Webb is calling the plays, which, you know, if you want your OC to get some cracks at it, fine.
We're also talking about Sean P.
And, you know, he's one of the better offensive minds, one of the best offensive minds and all football.
Call the fucking plays, dude.
get a goddamn ego and take the play calling sheet back.
That's just me.
I feel, yeah, if Davis Webb is still calling the plays,
I don't really know if the Broncos are doing anything great on offense this week against the Jaguars,
especially like Jacksonville is riding an extreme mile high right now.
So I'd say part of me actually leans Jacksonville here.
Part of me actually leans Jacksonville.
Is it all of you or part of you?
What's the pick here?
I'm going Jacksonville.
I'm hitting the button.
I can see Denver starting O and two right now.
Oh, that's going to be a tough O and two.
in the games at Denver or at Jackson?
At Denver.
Oh, I think I got Denver one in that one.
I think this is a good opportunity for them to get back to 500.
I'm not sure if Trevor Lawrence will struggle,
but I think that defense will have opportunities.
I think they need some get back after the abysmal start to the year.
I think they want the opportunity to show what this offense can do on your Davis Webb.
I think Sean Payton is willing to give them that opportunity again.
Hopefully, Bo Nix and Davis Webb can figure it out because they have the weapons and the pieces to do that.
I'm not sure how good that Jacksonville, once again, the Browns are the Browns.
So I think this is the opportunity to see that.
And I think the Broncos are wanting to do better than what they show.
against the Chiefs. So I got the Broncos.
Let's ride.
CJ?
There was nothing to like at all.
If Bo Nix could be as usual game manager's self,
I think there's a real argument to be made
that they actually win that game,
especially since he kept putting the ball on the carpet,
you know, God forbid,
make plays like that, then everyone bitches at him,
whatever. We must protect our game manager, Mr. Nix.
but every fiber of my being wants to pick Jacksonville,
but the fact that it's in Denver is really concerning to me.
And I don't think Jacksonville's defense has really been tested yet.
You know what I mean?
Because you play the Browns, but oh, man, if Jalen Waddle can figure out
how to actually be the number one we all know he can be,
then we might have a weed bit of a problem.
I think Jacksonville wins, but I know I say this a lot, but I think they win ugly because playing a mile high is no joke.
Yeah.
Bonix had a negative 7.5% completion percentage over expected.
Chargers versus Raiders.
Chargers, six and a half point favorites at home.
Overrunner's 43 and a half.
If we, we didn't do top three bottom three week one.
But if we did, the chargers would be at the bottom of the fucking barrel.
They, they really need to win this fucking game, dude.
Oh my goodness.
They really need to win.
So they don't.
Hell and high water is going to be coming in.
If they don't win this game, they are really in major fucking trouble.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd say they get the win, though, because,
the Raiders are still the Raiders.
And, you know, Kirk Cousins did his job against the Dolphins,
but can he do the same thing against the Chargers?
I'm going to say no.
Or maybe yes.
He's got, yes, because what Kirk Cousins did last week was enough to beat the Dolphins,
and I don't think it's enough to beat the Charters.
You know what?
I'm going with the upset here.
I'm going with the Raiders.
I'm going against the grind here.
I think the Raiders are trying to prove something this year,
and they're not the same old Raiders.
They got bits and pieces here on offense that will help everything else around them.
I don't trust that charges defense right now,
and I think Justin Herbert will struggle,
and I think Kirk Cousins wants to show a better display than what he showed against the Miami Dolphins,
because despite throwing three touchdowns, two picks is still two picks.
So hopefully-Bowder's back too.
And Brock Bowers is back.
It might be back.
Excuse me.
Hopefully cross fingers.
So if they get Brock Bowers back,
man, that's even tougher.
They already had enough to deal with when it came to the Cardinals.
Now they got to deal with Brock Bowers.
I got the Raiders with this one.
I think Ashton Genty has the potential to go off this game.
CJ?
This is going to be a slug fest.
I can see this being a real,
ground and pound game where basically time of possession and field position are going to be king in
this one.
I think, for reference, I think the Chargers win, but win ugly, I know I keep saying that,
and I'm sorry for repeating myself all the time, but I think that would be an understatement.
This is going to be a win that raises more questions than it answers.
It's going to be a really unsatisfying win.
but a win nonetheless.
Fair enough.
Starting 425 sleep,
Cowboys and commanders.
Cowboys 4.5 point favorites at home,
50 and a half over under.
I'm going to take the Cowboys.
It's going to be another close one
because it's the NFC East,
but like I just don't,
I don't know.
The way that Jaden Daniels performed last week,
goodness gracious.
I think I have to just stay with the same take till he proves me wrong is that all this bullshit about five over the off season.
Granted, probably not his fault, is going to affect him.
And I think he puts up another stinker this week.
And Cowboys, I think Dak Prescott gets himself right this week as well.
I don't.
On the one hand, I want to pick the Cowboys because I think the,
the offense is going to get a get right game, especially after the way they played against the Giants.
On the other hand, I don't trust that damn defense because, again, if I can run the same four plays against you in a row and score a touchdown, you're not giving me much faith.
And you weren't able to fix that.
I'm going with the Cowboys, but I got my worries.
I think the Cowboys are going to do just enough on offense to get the job done because I don't trust the offense.
I don't trust the offense of the commanders.
I don't think they're good enough to stop the Cowboys defense if they do everything right.
But I think that Cowboys offense will do just enough to get the job done.
I think Jayden Daniels needs to exercise his demons.
And I'm not sure this is the week he'll do it.
I think the Cowboys are going to win this one.
I got the Cowboys.
I don't trust that Commander's defense is all.
I mean, at all.
I mean, look, doing that again.
Jalen Hertz is one thing.
Doing against Dak Prescott and this Cowboys offense,
I don't like that.
I'm a little less confident.
And the Giants are one thing because the Giants actually have a good defense.
So the Cowboys usually kind of come out of the gate sluggish,
or at least they tend to.
But this is, I know division games are rarely get right games,
but I think Das is going to come in and beat the breaks off of Washington.
Yeah.
Cardinals, three to half point underdogs at home against Seattle Seahawks.
Sam Donald ruled out for this week again, so we'll get more Drew Locke.
And with that being said, I'm just going to, I'm sticking with the Seahawks.
I think that they win by, I think they cover and maybe and then some, because, you know,
the week one win for Arizona, by the way, greatest holdout of all time to Kobe Brissette, good shit.
but like Drewlock and the Seahawks were still able to put up 13 granted a low number,
but it was enough to beat the Patriots and Patriots themselves have a pretty damn good defense.
Seattle has a great defense.
And I just don't know if I just don't think that the Cardinals are going to be able to do the same thing they were able to do last week.
and I think
Drew Locke is going to
maybe
I think the offense
is going to be able
to do a little bit more
against the Cardinals defense.
This is a divisional matchup
of course too.
So I always want to preface that.
But yeah,
give me Seattle.
Seattle Cardinals.
Sam Donald's not playing, right?
That's what I just said.
Call me crazy.
Is it just me?
Or do these Cardinals look good?
I mean, you're not wrong.
They did look good.
Is it just me?
Or does that defense look pretty stout?
Is it just me?
Or does anyone else not have full faith in Drew Locke just yet?
I don't know.
I don't know.
It might be the battle of the mids at quarterback,
but I'm not going to lie.
I might trust Jacoby Brissette more than Drew Locke.
I know Drew Locke has some pieces there, but I'm not going to lie.
I think I'm picking the Cardinals.
I think I'm talking myself into picking the Cardinals here.
I know the Seattle Seahawks are defending Super Bowl champions.
I don't know how they looked against the Patriots, but that offense didn't look too good.
I know it's week one, but that offense didn't look as good as it did last year.
And I'm not sure if they'll look as good with Drewlock.
center instead of Sam Darnold.
I think that Cardinals' defense is underrated.
I think that offense is finally finding its groove.
I think they finally found a Haycoast that jails with the players.
I think, man, I think the Cardinals are going to be better than a lot of people, a lot of people
expected.
I think I'm picking the Cardinals this week.
I'm picking, I'm picking the upset this week.
Well, late window upsets for, for Tuck already.
I like it.
I like this one.
CJ?
Once again, just a game that you probably don't want to watch.
And admittedly, I think the Seahks are going to win because I think
Drew Locke can come out be a game manager.
You're doing against New England.
A lot of shallow completions, lots of dinks and dunks.
where and you know just like rely on the run game you know get into the red zone um for the cardinals
if seattle's plugs up that run game and brissette airs it out that could be iffy because he's
going up against much better defense and who knows me marvin harrison will even exist marvin
harrison junior that is it's not a guarantee but it's possible but i still like seattle in this
matchup.
Yeah.
Seattle, Seattle, Arizona.
This should be quick.
San Francisco, Miami.
How much San Francisco favored by?
What is it like?
13 and a half or something like that.
Tuck, what did you say?
Plus 10.
13 and a half is correct.
Nice.
Yeah.
This is a nice, easy, easy game after the trip to Australia for
the Niners so I think they handle this pretty pretty fittingly and they're going to and
out yeah 49ers are winning this one no need to discuss it CJ
C did doesn't want to discuss yeah what it's your turn
huh dude I I'm not going to lie to you I don't uh well you don't write this
No.
Just say 49ers so we can move on.
49ers.
I was trying to be nice, but no, I can't do it.
49ers.
Yeah, 49ers and by how much?
That's like, that's the only question.
49ers by like 20.
Oh, yeah, literally.
Sunday night football, the chiefs taking on the Colts.
Chiefs are six and a half point favorites at home,
46 and a half is the over under.
It's funny, the two winners of the
prime the week one primetime games for sunday night and monday football uh switched and are now
still on prime time and only one of them is probably going to end up with a win and that's probably
going to be the chiefs because they got the colts and colts do not look great against balsmore
last week chiefs looked great in their primetime matchup last week against uh against Denver um it's
it's hard to say like what's stopping the chiefs from having Kenneth Walker run it 25 times
and do the same exact thing they just did to Denver.
At that point, it's how much of a factor can the Colts or how much of a factor can
Jonathan Taylor be?
Can he be able to still be able to get big runs on Kansas City's defense?
That's basically what this is going to come down to.
do it at that rate.
And I don't know how much Jonathan Taylor's going to be able to do.
I hope he still does a good amount because he was still able to do a really good amount
against the Ravens.
But it won't be enough to get the win.
Give me Casey.
Covering.
I think I got Casey winning.
I'm not sure.
Danny Dimes and Jonathan Taylor will be enough to stop this Kansas City defense that
shellacked the Denver Broncos.
And I don't trust that Denver defense, I mean that Indianapolis defense to take care of Kenneth Walker, Patrick Mahon, Travis Kelsey, Rash, I don't trust them right now.
So yeah, I got, I got Kansas City winning this one.
I think it'll be fairly close in the first half, but then the Chiefs will pull away.
See, Jay.
Look, for the Chiefs, this game is very simple.
You stop Jonathan Taylor, you stop the Colts.
you stack the box every play and dare Jones be you with his arm.
And I don't think he can do that.
I don't like him at all.
And, you know, just like in that regard.
So, yeah, give me the Chiefs.
Monday night football.
Ram, seven-point favorites at home against the Giants.
I think the Giants are going to cover.
I'm kind of surprised the spread is this high,
especially with how the Rams played in Australia,
no Miles Garrett.
There is a chance that Aaron Donald plays,
but what type of shape is he going to be in?
How's he going to be able to perform?
I think the Giants cover,
but I'm going to take the Rams here,
because the only other time that I can think of
that the Giants played on prime time on the road
was last year in New England.
and the Giants got bullied.
They got physically outmatched by the Patriots.
Could the same thing happen here, maybe,
but I know the Giants' defense is definitely a lot better,
and they showed that against the Cowboys.
And obviously riding a lot of momentum off of that,
Sunday night went against the Cowboys.
But it's hard to say to see the Rams go 0 and 2.
So I want to go with the Rams here.
I think the Rams need this one in order to get back on track.
They can't afford to lose, especially with the 49ers in Seattle.
So they need this one.
I don't think they need Miles Garrett to get the job done.
Hopefully everything's in place for Aaron Donald to come back.
If not, it doesn't matter.
That offense should be good enough to get the job done.
I think they've done a lot of soul searching after week one
and the embarrassment they had against San Francisco.
I think they've changed gears,
and I think they're ready to deal with the New York Giants.
I got the Rams winning.
You know, I kind of feel like the Rams are going to bounce back.
And, I mean, I get being the Cowboys or the Giants like that,
being a division game and all,
but the Rams are out for blood.
And a pissed off ring MVP, Matt,
Stafford is not a Matt Stafford I want to face.
Oh, but if the Giants win and win convincingly,
then maybe we could talk about them being contenders.
But in the meantime, give me the Rams.
All right.
That is our week two picks and preview.
We are going to take a quick break.
When we come back, we will recap the Thursday night game between the Bills and
the Lions.
Hopefully, obviously we're recording Will before.
the kickoff.
So hopefully,
hopefully they played a good game.
Because that would be nice.
That'd be nice to talk about.
This is the Pulmaruski podcast.
Always showed it in the stat sheet,
but you can see him making throws
when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
The bills put down.
down the Lions in the grand opening of High Mark Stadium.
Before we get into the game, you know, kind of seeing the new stadium and it's in all of its glory and on a prime time stage.
I like the grass.
I like the, well, yeah, there's still time on the clock, but it's 41, 31 and bills have the ball.
But I like the grass that the bills have.
I like the end zones
I just like the
I just like how it is
it looks nice
I don't know
that's a good starter
what did you guys think of
of the stadium as a whole today
I thought it looked good
I thought it looked decent
it looked nice
and the amount of people that were there
filling it out a bunch of red and blue
and it was a nice scenery
and I like the fireworks display and all that
it was a great
it was a good grand opening for this stadium
him. Ryan Fitzgerald, Ryan Fitzpatrick went in through a table. So it was a perfect open to the, to the night.
He went through a table and then got off the injury report. And I don't know how that happens, but we ball.
Hey man, we're just out here, you know. C.J., any thoughts?
The Bill's Stadium, the new stadium, is like what I imagine looking at those photos of outer spaces like,
It's okay to admire from afar, but I myself would not ever want to be there, you know?
Because let's be real.
It looks good.
And this isn't even me just drinking the Hater Aid.
This is like objectively true.
When you look at all those seats in that stadium, so many of them having an obstructed view,
either being too close to a wall or behind a pillar, like if it's like an old, old stadium, like I get it.
But in the big 26, in hell, in the 21st century, that's not okay.
And I just think that's weird.
But, but yeah, it looks fine.
But I feel for those people with those obstructed views, man, that's gross.
That is gross.
But, hey, one more team has a grass field, though.
We like it.
We're getting somewhere.
for the game itself.
I mean, this was the bills from start to finish.
They jumped out to a 21-0-0-0-0-lead.
Or really, should I say, was Josh out from start-to-finish?
I should really say.
But, yeah, 21-0-0-lead,
and they kind of just cruise from their final score now,
4131.
Teams are starting to flood the field.
But, yeah, what else really is there to say for the bills?
outside of the fact that they kind of just did the same thing that they did last week.
Yeah, they gave up 31, 30 points again.
But, I mean, it was the way they started.
And, I mean, they kind of just cruised from there.
And that's all they really needed to do.
I'm not, first and foremost, congratulations to the bills.
I think they earned the victory tonight, clearly, by the way,
they handled the first half and the way they held on in the second half.
I think Detroit, God bless them, couldn't stop them, no matter what.
what they did offensively.
Josh Allen just had his way with them.
What was it?
Five?
Five touchdowns total, three passing, two rushing.
Yep.
Got the MVP chance going for him.
He looked unstoppable against this Detroit Lions defense,
but I'm not sure if that's saying much about him
or how bad Detroit's defense is.
But he got the job done.
He did what he was supposed to do.
Kudos to him.
This bill's offense looks mightily impress.
that old line looks very, very good.
Damn near unbeatable at times.
But I think.
Let's save the Lions talk for a second.
I just wanted to just bills real quick.
Just bills?
Yeah, there's bills for now.
I liked how the Bill's defense was able to fly pressure
to Jared golf.
He didn't really feel comfortable most of the night.
They were able to play.
Even though they gave up 31 points,
it never really felt like Detroit was in it,
even when it was like a 10-point lead.
for some reason, it just felt like they could do whatever they want.
And so I think Buffalo played a complete and total game.
Congrats to them and carry on.
DJ Moore also was rolled out with a shoulder injury.
He didn't even record a catch was a non-factor.
The only thing he did was one carry for minus one yard.
Dalton Kincaid was the man of the show.
But, I mean, Josh Allen,
No interceptions again.
There were still a couple passes where he kind of got lucky.
But I mean, hey, that's the NFL.
Sometimes you get lucky.
Sometimes you don't.
CJ, your thoughts on the bill's performance.
Josh Allen, man, got to be early MVP frontrunner.
Obviously, James Cook, another game where he's just like two rushes and it's already
a first down.
If you look at the averages, you know, Alan being a menace on the ground and through the
air.
But can we just, you know, pour one out for all the DJ more fantasy owners?
This is the type of game that, like, I feel like it's one of the most underrated
pains in fantasy.
I'm not a DJ more fantasy owner, by the way.
But, you know, we talk about the pains and fantasy, like, you know, being up by, like,
50 points and then watching someone have, like, someone on, like, have an insane performance
and then you lose or leaving someone that scored.
30 plus on your bench, but this.
This, I feel like, hurts
more. Like, so imagine, right?
You're not in a place where you can watch
the game. And let's just say you have the wide receiver
one of a team. In this case, it's DJ Moore. You look
at the score and you're just like, oh my God, 41 points.
DJ Moore must be eating.
And then you open up fantasy and you find out,
psych, just kidding. Fuck you. Everyone else
on the offense, except for DJ Moore
has been eating. That's,
that's evil.
But then again, I am a proud Dalton Kincaid fantasy owner.
Projected nine points at up like 22.
You'll love to see it.
But okay, but enough about fantasy.
But seriously.
Well, let's stick with it real quick because Josh Allen ended up with 41 fantasy points.
James Cook 22.
Yeah, I had to play against both of them.
Oh, I'm sorry.
tough start to the tough start yeah say that again um but all right let's go to the lines now
oh i wasn't done oh sorry but yeah but i wasn't going to say it was funny i had jake ferguson is my
tight end and i benched him for king k in like an hour before the game and he got 22 and a point
five that's huge that's huge yeah but uh but seriously though Alan the bills are looking like
a wagon early on.
The only thing that concerns me, like you mentioned,
this is the second straight game where your defense has given up 30.
So my question is, look, obviously Josh Allen is great as he is,
you know, he's at worst, a top three quarterback in the NFL.
What happens if maybe he has an off game or the defense can just sit back and
blank at the field because maybe James Cook goes down, you know?
What happens if there's going to be that one game where the offense
just isn't clicking, because let's face it.
This is the NFL.
The good teams every year,
there's always that one game that you drop,
you know, that you have no business
losing, crap games as they are.
So what happens, you know, like I said,
like, you know, maybe those one or two games
where Allen just doesn't have it
and your defense is still letting up huge plays.
Because obviously we're on top of with the Lions,
but they did play pretty well.
I had 31 points, nothing to sneeze at.
but it hasn't come back to hurt them yet.
That's my only negative for the bills is that the defense is very, very concerning.
But as long as Josh Allen plays them, they can just win in a boat race every time.
I think if you want to build on the running back part,
I mean, the only running back that the bills used or that actually got touches was James Cook.
Yeah.
The carries, the 35 carries outside of the DJ more carry that were dispersed was 21 to James Cook and 14 to Josh Allen.
So they definitely got to hope that James Cook doesn't fall off a fucking cliff.
Not a lot.
What?
No, he's not going to fall off a cliff yet.
Maybe get injured.
Well, that's why I mean is like he's going to fall off a cliff and die.
They better hope he doesn't do that.
I feel like that goes for a lot of teams, but fair enough.
Fair enough.
The Lions, rough night, rough night.
It doesn't help that they went down 21-0-0 early.
It doesn't help that they were down 27 to 10 going into the half.
Just playing catch-up all night.
Another thing we didn't really mention was Jemir Gibbs was kind of shut down outside of the one touchdown in the end zone.
running the ball wise.
He only averaged 3.3 per carry.
He did break it on out for 16,
but yeah,
all around this.
I'm going to revert back to my overreaction
for the Lions,
and it's that
this may be a much more disappointing season
for the Lions than,
it's going to be a repeat of last year, probably,
in terms of disappointment.
And now we're kind of seeing it a little bit.
Like last week probably could have probably should have lost in the Saints.
Get your shit kicked in against the bills.
What do they have next week?
Like they're one and one.
It's like not a very nice one and one.
They have a get right game next week against the Jets at home.
That should be a shit kicking because that's just how the lions are.
But I'd be slight, I'd be pretty concerned right now.
I would be pretty concerned.
Oh, man.
This game was not good for the lines at all.
The offense was sluggish to start, but I don't really fault them for that.
Some of the balls were bad, and some runs weren't going anywhere.
More three announced than they should have.
It just got hard for them to get started on schedule.
Once they got on schedule, they started scoring.
The defense, different story.
They couldn't stop a nosebleed tonight.
like, oh, man.
Once it hit 21-0-0 on the score,
I texted in the group chat, what I texted.
And they were growing in the lion's ear at that point.
And I was like, why can't they stop this?
It was just embarrassing.
I think the Lions gave up like six or seven straight drives of touchdowns.
nothing but touchdowns
straight going from the Saints game to this game
they just couldn't stop themselves
and it was like oh man
good and you look at the stats that
Jared Goff had and it's like
he played well but his team just
didn't pull through on the defensive side of the ball
outside of Aiden Hutchinson and Jack Campbell
who I feel like we're the only ones that made like an impact on the game
I can't tell you one other thing
another person did that had a tremendous impact on the game.
Because they just could not stop Josh Allen.
And they could not stop James Cook.
James Cook had over 100 yards rushing in the first half.
This was pathetic by the lines, more specifically on the defensive side of the ball than offensively.
Because you know the lines can score points.
But if they don't fix this defense quick, fast and in a hurry, and I don't know how, whether,
fire their DC or make a trade for a star pass rush or generate pressure or get a star corner to
have coverage. I don't care how they do it. If they don't fix this defense, I agree with Chris.
This is going to be a disappointing season for them, especially in the NFC North.
The Vikings look good. The Packers are trying to vie for the playoffs again. And you already know
what Chicago is all about. So if they don't fix this, this can become a problem quicker than
quicker than later.
So, yeah, they need to get to fix this,
and hopefully this Jets game is a get-right game.
Because if they lose to the Jets,
oh, man, if they can't stop the Jets,
oh, that's a problem.
This is worse than we thought.
Yeah.
Definitely worse.
C.J.
Now, if I told you that going into this game,
Jared Gough would go 26 of 30.
38, 327 yards, and four touchdowns, you would think, wow, they'd played well.
And you would be half right.
The offense played well.
Yeah, they kind of had a sluggish start.
But Jared Goff, despite the fact he was sacked four times and had pressure all around him,
he was cool, calm, and collected, and he diced up that Bill's defense.
The problem is your defense got toasted even worse.
And we know, you're talking about this Bill's defense.
But see, at least the Bill's offense can still win in a boat race.
The Lions' defense can't do anything.
Like you say, you know, Jack Campbell, Aden Hutchinson, these are some straight gamers.
But once again, the problem with the Lions comes from the defensive backfield.
And I will say something.
In the Dan Campbell era, the D.Bs have been like the one position that,
No matter what they've tried, it never seems to work out, specifically corners.
Like, they keep, I mean, it seems like every time they have a new breakout corner, they leave or they regress.
Drafting hasn't worked.
I don't know what it is.
They have never really been able to figure out DBs.
And that being said, I do give them a little bit of a pass because both of their starting safeties in Kirby, Joseph, and Brian Branch are currently hurt.
They got hurt last year, and they're still hurt now.
They're just not ready to play.
And while that is a valid excuse, you still have games to win in the present day.
So it can only carry you so far.
And, you know, once again, the only people, even lions adjacent that are happy
or anyone that owned Amun Ra or Jared Goff in fantasy.
I'm really concerned for the lions because once again, and we mentioned this before, they can't stay healthy.
They just can't.
And especially on defense, where they just keep getting hurt.
And even so when the offense is healthy, the defense completely falls apart.
And the offense is, you know, and then when the defense does play well, that's usually when the offense decides to take the night off.
And I hate to say this, but Dan Campbell doesn't seem to be able to adjust.
There's something that I've noticed over, you know, since, I would say since they got,
since they went one and done at the hands of the Washington commanders,
since that game, remember, they were the one seed, were they not?
And they were.
Yeah, they were the one seed.
and got just flat out,
just out ran by the commanders.
Like, they weren't, you know,
they got boat raced.
They got boat raced.
No, that was a beat down.
It wasn't, it was just,
it was a, it was just, they were both scoring,
just the commanders got scored more.
They flat out just got out firepower.
That's what it is.
And, but since that game,
the lines just have not looked right, not in the stat sheet, not in the eye test.
They just haven't.
Dan Campbell has not, and even the playoff series before that season, you know, back in
2023, Dan Campbell, you know, blew that lead.
He was, he's super.
I know his whole deal is that he's aggressive.
He's, you know, very much of this is the way we do it, but he can't adjust.
He still has yet to be able to adjust to anything.
and this is he just doesn't evolve you know what i mean this is still the same dan campbell who's still
making the same mistakes who still has the same problems and honestly like if i know after going
on that deep playoff run and then being a one and done is the one seed and then after the disaster
of last season i i don't care how tough this division is i don't care what injure excuse they may or may not
have if they don't make the playoffs this year,
I'm not suggesting anything drastic,
but what I am suggesting is maybe we start to look at him
in the same lens that we were all looking at Matt LaFleurre with earlier.
I was just about, I think the same thing, to be honest.
Yeah, I was trying to think.
When is it going to get to the point where, like,
the message isn't getting to the locker anymore?
The message is stale.
Yeah.
I mean, I know their whole thing is,
Ha, ha, look, he said bite the kneecaps.
Funny.
Well, I got news for you.
Biting someone's kneecaps doesn't mean anything when your opponent has two hands that they're strangling you with.
That is all.
Duck, anything else to add there?
Anything you want to respond to what's what they said?
I'm not sure Detroit is there yet.
Don't get me wrong.
They've made some questionable decisions, but I'm not, I still think they, D.C. still
has the voice of the players. I still think he can be that voice. But damn, they need to fix that
defense. I don't know how he's going to go about doing it, but I still think they can be a major
player, especially on the offensive side of the ball. They have the weapons. It's just getting stops.
Aidan Hutchinson is a stud, but he can't be the only one that can apply pressure. They're just
going to double and triple team on someone else steps up. Jack Campbell can't be the
the only other person to do something out there. That back in needs to be able to help,
and they're just not helping right now. I don't know if schematics. I know it's injuries,
but again, that's only to the safeties. The D.Bs are still healthy. And this is just a tough
situation for them right now. And if they don't fix this soon, I think D.C. will have to go.
Oh, I'm not sure he's in the Matt LaFleur section yet, because he's not.
blowing leads.
He's just getting boat raced right now.
And there's nothing he can do about it.
But if it gets to that point where he gets leads and he loses them and loses the game,
then we can have the conversation.
But right now, he's still winning.
So we can,
damn, that defense needs to play better.
Yeah.
No, it does.
It does.
I also think that we might,
that we're probably a bit of a,
weighs away from it as well.
But I mean, this was, you know, I mean, if in terms of a Detroit loss, this is as Detroit
losses, as Detroit losses it gets, you know, losing in a very high scoring affair with a lot
of mistakes, a lot of mistakes, two fumbles, both of them, both, one of them lost, I should
say.
10 penalties to their name as well.
Just it's not good.
It's not.
Anything else regarding either the Bills or the Lions before we have the show.
Bills and the Lions.
Not really.
Hopefully DJ Moore is okay.
Yes.
Hopefully,
Rocky Sin isn't healthy too.
Yeah.
Because they can't lose any more dbs.
Yeah.
All right.
