On today's episode of the Fulmleruski podcast, the NFC East, hell of a week, finishing 02 and 2 in week 5.
Marvin Harrison Jr. traded to the Texans, the 49ers pulled off on a last second surge from the Seahawks.
The Ravens edge out the Falcons in overtime on Sunday night football and a recap of Monday night football.
This is the Fulmuriski podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the stat sheet.
But you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Welcome to the Fulmaruski podcast by Secret Weapon Consulting.
We got CJ back.
We got talk.
We got myself, Chris.
Hey, football baby.
Week five, about.
minute or so away from being in the books.
Pooka Nakua, what is that, 16 catches now for him.
We're at the minute mark with the Rams driving down the field.
But, yeah, 15, 16 catches for them.
Of course, I have to go up again,
at Simmon Fantasy this week.
But, yeah, we'll recap this game once it ends,
or maybe at the end of the show.
There's Devante Adams.
The NFC East, boy.
What a week for them.
You got the Cowboys losing to the 0-14 Tampa Bay Bucks on Thursday night football and London.
Eagles provide another masterclass in coaching on otherwise very masterful classes of coaching from all the other teams that we've seen through the first four to five weeks of this season.
And then the Giants and the commies both tie in one of the ones.
in one of the dumbest ways
I've ever seen a game end.
Yes.
Well, we already talked about the Cowboys,
or at least Tuck and I did.
We already talked about the Cowboys' Bucks game.
But moving on to the Eagles game,
I mean,
Eagles defense actually showed some life,
you know.
But other than that, I mean,
really the story of the game is not kicking it out of the end zone.
At the end.
That's really the name of the game at that point.
We can't say that.
We can't have it both ways.
We can't say it for one thing with Dallas and then backtrack and say it another for the Eagles.
They did it right.
They just didn't make the pull.
They just didn't tackle.
The Ravens had a time out though.
The Ravens actually had a time out.
Like the like the Jaguars didn't.
It's still a possibility.
Like if you're saying the timeout would have helped, I'm sure, but I just feel like sometimes.
did help. It got you in a field goal.
Yeah, the timeout did help and it eventually helped them kick a field goal.
But then they, yeah, and then this time they didn't have any.
But they still, they still had to get down.
They just, the special teams just didn't help.
They just needed, they just needed to make the tackle.
That's all it was.
Sorry, I was watching the Kyriek Williams play.
How's it going?
15, 14, 14.
Stafford's getting the boys up at the line, kind of scrambling.
You're literally like two boys behind me, man.
I am.
And Kyron's in with four seconds to go.
I'm sorry, what?
Never much love when they go OT.
Yeah.
Chris, I know you said you don't want me to spoil anything, but they are going to
make the field goal, right?
He just did, yeah.
They're going to OT unless there's some buckery that happens.
I just have to change the win.
Go for the win.
All right.
What is that three games this weekend?
I've gone to OT now.
Probably.
Yeah, that is because Ravens Falcons also went to OT.
But I guess quickly about back to the Eagles game.
Oh, shit.
I just remember that Kyron Williams scored on playing Kyron Williams.
CJ, your thoughts on the Eagles game.
Have you guys ever seen that meme?
with DJ Khalid and it says what does he even do?
That is how I feel about Nick Siriani.
In fact, even though I've said this before,
what does he do?
The YouTuber urinating tree,
for those of you who know him,
actually said in his last video,
what the fuck does he even do?
And when you got,
when you have like a real ballmower like him
saying the thing that you're already thinking of,
then you know,
you're in the right. But seriously, though, what the hell does Nick Siriani do? I don't know.
I sincerely don't understand this. And for those and for those of you who don't know, I was just in
Delaware over the weekend, you know, that's Eagles territory. And you could just feel the,
the Nick Siriani hatred just emanate from Philly and it covers like a 50 mile radius. And,
And I understand, and I get it.
And look, look, I know that it's hip, it's trendy, it's cool to bash Jalen Hertz.
And to some extent, I understand.
Because Jalen Hertz has not looked the best.
However, he is also one of the reasons that you are not O'N Five.
Because he is making the throws, in many cases where he should.
he's not doing it consistently, but like I said, if he's not your QB, you're probably
0-N-5 because he was pretty critical in those two wins.
But the offense as a whole, let's start with the line.
They're downed their last guy.
It's left tackle Jordan Milotta.
Landon Dickerson is hurt.
Right guard, Tyler Steen, just got hurt.
Center, Tam Juergens was traded and right-tackle, Lane Johnson, retired.
So you're down your last line.
and you're down to R.B. Fulall, who I think is Damien Pierce, because Sequan's hurt,
Tank Bigsby's hurt, and Will Shipley just got hurt. So you no longer have a line. You no longer
have running backs. So you're going to have to force Jailant hurts to throw or just do
umpteen tush pushes until the end of time. And it really sucks that they're wasting a Vic Fangio-led
defense, but oh, my God.
that Philly offense is just flat.
Think about it this way.
I think week two was the last time they scored a touchdown in the second half.
Like, I don't know what it is.
They look presentable in the first half,
but then the second half rolls around.
They literally, like I said, they literally just go flat.
Like, like I said, I believe since week two,
they have not found the end zone in the second half.
And that is a problem.
And we can blame hurts,
But like I said, all the criticism that he gets, followed up, cut it in half, and give the
other half to Siriani.
And the worst part is, Siriani's not doing himself any favors.
And I think we can all agree to some extent.
He's probably one of the least likable coaches in the league.
And he hasn't really learned, even though he's won a Super Bowl, he hasn't learned how to,
you know, what we call master the media.
instead he gets irate, he claps back, and he like yells at fans.
And it gets to a point where it's like, okay, not only are you losing,
but you're behaving like a goddamn jackass.
And make no mistake, my fellow Americans,
his seat is a little toasty right now.
And not just that, guys, but I think that if Bill,
misses the playoffs, he's getting canned. I don't give a shit they just won a Super Bowl. He is
getting canned if they miss the playoffs. And hell, even if they sneak into the playoffs but don't
win the division and get bounced in round one, he'll probably get canned then. And I'll tell
you why, because he's a coordinator merchant. That's what it comes down to. He is largely the product
of good offensive coordinators. Because when he's forced to scheme shit up himself or find someone new,
it's disastrous.
The first half, second half thing
was a point that I was going to bring up to.
Sorry.
Don't be sorry.
It's a great point to bring up because, like,
never mind how you start.
It's how you finish.
And like the Eagles finish games,
sucks.
Outright sucks.
Sorry,
my cat actually just got out from under the couch
and doing cat things now.
What do the Eagles go from here?
Because who's their next game?
Let me just make sure.
Panthers.
That's a loss.
Yeah, Panthers coming off the buy.
That's a loss if they don't get it together.
That,
that,
oh, man,
I'm not sure.
Yeah,
that's a loss if the Eagles team can't figure it out offensively.
I know they don't.
As a matter of fact,
yeah,
that's a loss.
That O line I have no faith in right now,
considering how badly injured and decimated it is by injuries and
retirement.
So, yeah.
Who knows? Maybe they'll ask Jason Kelsey to come out of retirement one time just to see if it happens.
But, yeah, they need to figure it out because I think they're mishandling players like Mikhailin.
I don't know why they drafted him and again are misusing him.
They're making Devante or DeMata look like a high-end wide receiver two.
Yes.
Should be the ones to be their one.
Yeah.
He's also hurt now.
That too.
Yeah.
He did not play last week.
because I have them in fantasy.
Yep.
Their running back death is non-existent.
They're down to their fourth string running back.
That's a problem.
And the only thing that's been consistent throughout all of this is Jalen Hertz, both good and bad.
So as much as I thought this team was capable of making the playoffs, they're not healthy.
And they're not playing as well as they should.
It's just unfortunate because usually they have a year where they do well and a year they do bad.
but still somehow miraculously make playoffs.
If they keep going like this,
they might not make the playoffs,
because they're not the leaders in the division, are they?
That's the Giants.
The New York football giants.
I didn't think I would be saying that,
but here we are, week five,
and there they are.
It should be Dallas,
but unfortunately,
Dallas does what it always does
and douse themselves out of positions they should be.
Like, seriously,
I don't know.
how they do it. They just miraculously
do it. The Eagles
suck right now and then there's
the commanders. I don't know
what to say about them. One moment
they look like they can't handle themselves. They
look like they're inept. Next
moment they beat Seattle. I'm still
not sure what they are.
So the NFC
east or the NFC least
right now is
a weird situation
to say the least.
Yeah.
It feels like
2015 all over.
Yeah.
I guess that's a good segue into the job.
Oh, Kalil Shakir.
Oh, I thought that was.
I was about to say I thought that was game.
And then I remember that everyone's guaranteed a possession.
Yeah.
Thanks a lot, Buffalo.
Thanks a lot, Buffalo.
Moving on to the Giants commies game.
I mean, there's another, well, last thing about the Eagles, actually, real quick,
is that, like, the fact.
fact that they were even able to be in this
game and have it come down to a last second
field goal, I think is also just a miracle with
everything that we also just stated.
Played like an underdog,
competed like an underdog.
The Giants and Commanders game, I mean, this was just a game
of who wants to act like a dumbass
longer.
Oh my God, how do you lose the ball?
Yeah.
Talk for, because you don't have the game
in front of you, I'll let you know.
there's a 57-yard catch by Khalil Shakir.
They then, you know, in like the ramp, and deep in Rams territory,
hand the ball off to James Cook,
and it gets punched out, recovered by the Rams at their own 20.
That is.
That's foul.
It was having such a good game.
I'm not going to say it's game yet, but.
No, no, obviously not.
But we'll see.
But, yeah, Matt, they scored a touchdown on the last.
I mean, shit, man.
This could happen.
I mean, shit, man.
I mean, we could see a tie right here.
We just saw a tie with this one.
But, um, but, um, but yeah, this was a matter of two teams that just decided to act like absolute dumbasses.
Um, I mean, got ahead to both sides for putting up a salt game.
Jaden Daniels ran the ball really well.
Um, the, the arm brace looks pretty good on them.
I'm glad that he's actually wearing that.
Um, but,
I mean, in terms of how this game played out, this also falls on the shoulders of Jaden Daniels and Dan Quinn.
Like, you could say that the Giants just as much lost this tie as the commies, but like,
commies are literally in field goal range.
Like, they had the game in hand and they run an extra play to then, like, have the biggest brain fart you could have possibly ever imagined on that.
it's just inexcusable stuff
inexcusable stuff
I mean this is this is stuff that you go over and practice
practice we're talking about practice
and it's crazy too because like
after this game like I ended up seeing this video
pretty much talk about how
like unfortunately like you could see Madden players
having
oh nice throw a nice catch
you can see up Madden players having more
like clock management skills than the average NFL coach.
And, you know, we talk about Siriani doing it.
Dan Quinn, we just saw Dan Quinn have a master class in fumbling the shit out of it.
And unfortunately, this has been a theme already through the first five weeks of the season,
not even just talk about Siriani and Dan Quinn.
We could point at some other games too.
Fricking Aaron Glenn last year alone had many clock management bluffs.
it's just an all-around problem.
And now,
not saying that the average Madden player can, like,
coach an NFL team,
but Jesus Christ,
like they could definitely lead a two-minute drive
a little bit better than what's going on out here.
But,
yeah,
Jaydon Daniels needs to have better awareness
of what the hell's going on.
Or just not even run an
the play, just kick the damn field goal.
Just kick the damn field goal.
There's no point in running another play.
That's my, that's basically my take on it.
Blind leading the blind.
I don't know how the hell, Dayton Daniels didn't just say kick the field goal and call it a day.
Yeah.
I don't wait.
The Giants did possess the ball in overtime, right?
Yeah, yep.
Correct.
Camp Scataboo fumbled it.
They literally.
Bumbled the game away.
You guys get the ball back.
All you have to do is kick this field goal and you go home with a W.
You don't even kick the field goal.
You just run out the clock.
Why are you guys fighting for a tie?
And,
damn it, Chris is really trying to convince me the Giants actually won this game.
And I know, I know they didn't.
The Giants should be three and two right now.
The Giants should be three and two right now.
They should be a lot of things.
That's a lot of things.
They should be a lot of things.
But somehow they're, what, three, one and one?
Yep.
This is going to have playoff implications going down the road.
I'm not sure how we found ourselves in this position, but here we are.
And the commanders are two and three.
Yep.
So basically, no, one, three.
One and three and one.
So basically.
They should be two and three.
Yes.
And the Giants should be three and two.
And this division race is a lot closer than it is now.
But somehow, some way, both teams lost.
I don't care if it didn't in the tie.
Both of them didn't deserve the W.
Because how the hell Cam Scataboo fumbles in that position?
and then somehow the commanders have an even bigger fumble of the bag when they don't even kick a field goal.
I don't know how this happened.
I don't know why it happened.
If I'm the owner, Dan Snyder, I might just fired Dan Quinn just for negligence and stupidity.
Dan Snyder is no longer the owner.
Forgive me.
It's Josh Harris.
Josh Harris.
I would have fired Dan Quinn after the game.
and I was at Jamie and Daniels,
that is your one and only time messing up.
Because if you keep acting like this,
I might start calling you tragic Johnson
like they did Magic until he started winning again.
Did you guys see Magic Johnson's tweet about this game?
No. What do you say?
Well, he's a minority owner in the commies,
so he was less than pleased to say the least.
Very disappointed, very frustrated.
A couple verbs to use or adjectives.
tubes i should say i'd be frustrated too if my my franchise quarterback did what he did and
why just take the field goal yeah uh speaking of field goals uh rams are in field goal range right now
tuck there we go gosh allen losing another game he's now three and two oh hey hey we're
told so yeah i mean they just had mevis on the field and then just pulled them off because
they're trying to get a little closer here all right how much
time left is on the clock uh 541 for me i mean cj's probably like a minute 530 right now
oh all right okay oh passing oh my what is that yeah so uh i guess i guess oh no no he takes it up the
field a bit but yeah not anyway so um i guess i'll go with what i was saying oh i guess they
mark them down short but whatever uh first the john
And I've mentioned this before, week to week, the James Winston experience truly is something.
And I think we can all agree.
You never know which James you're going to get.
And today, they got famous James.
3354, 326 yards, three touchdowns.
Very, very nice.
But the Giants, you know, they just got introduced to something that our good friend
Tuck knows all about.
Harba ball.
You know Harbaugh Ball.
You know.
To look like you should win.
To actually have the game in the palm of your hands only for Harbaugh to say, no.
Who has it better than us?
A lot of people, it would seem.
You should be three and two.
Or is it Jim who says it.
Either way, Harbauls a harbaugh's a harbaugh.
What do you want?
And the commanders.
You know, Jane and Daniels, I like him.
I really do.
And by the way, I know a lot of people said the arm brace would just look weird on him.
I disagree.
Arm braces are cool.
When JJ Watt and Rob Gronkowski rocked him, they were sick.
And Jane Daniels looks just as sick with it.
And I'm glad he's taking care of himself because we all know what his ceiling is.
And his ceiling is pretty damn good.
So, that being said, did Jane Daniels think,
that even though he didn't have any time out and he just rolls outside of the pocket,
all lackadaisically, that the clock would stop of five seconds left out of respect for the number of his.
Unfortunately, time does not work that way, Jaden.
And you completely pissed yourself when you should have had the game in hand.
And the defense just, you know, broke a lot of,
more than bent and the giants you know they finally got some semblance of offense
cam scadaboo coughs up the ball it was just a true comedy of errors i mean i could watch that
entire game with that yakety sack song playing in the background instead of the actual commentary
and i wouldn't miss a beat all in all i genuinely wish much like
to both you that I could hand both of these teams a loss.
Unfortunately, this is not the nature of a tie.
So, yeah, no teams in the NFC East won this week.
Very funny.
I like that.
That sounds so typical of the NFC East,
but I can't recall the last time this has happened.
Oh, and by the way, since I wasn't there,
I would just give my rapid-fire thoughts on the Cowboys.
Mm-hmm.
And just legend Jalen Daniels.
that is all.
I like that.
I like it.
Yeah.
I mean,
it,
like I said,
comes down to Jaden Daniels
needed to know what he needs to do in that spot,
not have a massive brain fart and dang when.
I mean,
like that was a design rollout and throw it away.
Like design roll out and throw it away.
And Jaden Daniels,
all he has to do is throw it at the line of scrimmage and he's good and he's good.
but doesn't he he does the exact opposite but by the way chris and tuck rams missed the field
goal brother i haven't even and once again i said it off camera and i'll say it again real quick
josh allen is genuinely one of the luckiest quarterbacks had ever seen he can turn the ball over
four times the bill still win actually i think it was no no it was blocked it was actually
tipped uh gregg rousseau got through and got like a fingertip on it
And it just came up like just a few yards short.
Like I said, Josh Allen, if he did.
Like I said before, Josh Allen, it's just pure luck on his side.
How much time is left in the game?
The regular season.
Too much, too much time.
So like four minutes?
Yeah, four minutes, 11 seconds.
They left him way too much time.
Oh, my God.
Well, and here comes yet another classic Josh Allen bailout, as in he's getting out.
Come on, Josh.
Throw a buffalo chicken sandwich to the defense.
Yeah.
I want this game to end in a tie.
That'd be hilarious.
So, yeah, after the 1 o'clock games, it was announced,
oh, what was it, Friday or Saturday?
I think it was Saturday.
They announced that Rappaport and Shepter both announced
that Marvin Harrison Jr. was getting traded from the Cardinals.
But there wasn't a team in place.
that was accepting that trade.
It was basically just like,
hey, we're announcing we're trading him.
And that's it.
I saw reports that it wasn't going to be Indianapolis or Houston,
and lo and behold, it ended up being Houston for,
what was it, a second and a seventh?
Yeah.
So, I mean, what we were saying, like, at least a fourth.
It's not a, I mean, it sucks that you end up with,
a second and a seventh for what third overall pick second overall pick fourth overall pick in
in 23 but it wasn't working it wasn't working obviously it seemed like he had basically just
lost interest in playing for the cardinals with with how he was playing I mean there's
film on some of the routes he's running it I said this what a couple weeks ago like the
routes he's running is dog shit.
Tuck, by the way,
bills are now in field of old range.
Josh Allen just had a MVP type of run.
Yeah, that was more of a defensive laps.
Once again, he got bailed out.
Either way, it was a vintage Josh Allen-esque play.
I jinxed the Rams.
I'll take this one.
But yeah, thoughts on.
I'm glad that at the very least,
you know, you get a young player,
another chance to succeed somewhere else.
Cindy's with its former college teammate, C.J. Stroud.
Yes, I think this will be, I think this is where he'll probably have the best chance
succeed. He has his college quarterback. He's not going to be considered the number one because
Nico Collins is there. He'll be the number two or the number three. That means he'll have
one-on-one opportunities. And I think he'll be excited to actually be in a different place.
I just don't think he liked his time in Arizona.
He was being overshadowed by Michael Wilson and Tray McBride.
I think he sees Houston as an opportunity.
I hope he does.
And hopefully we get to see flashes of what made him one of the most feared players in college football.
I wish him all the best.
I think he has all the tools to make it work, but we'll see.
We'll see how it turns out.
C.J.
You know, I like this move specifically for Marvin Harrison Jr.
And honestly, for the Cardinals, I will tell you, they didn't get super terrible value.
I mean, the second rounder was in this year's draft.
And nobody when we see first and seconds getting traded, they've all been in 2028.
So they only have to wait to like reap the rewards.
That's nice.
But think about this way.
He reunites with his college quarterback and C.J. Stroud.
They're good friends off the field, and they have chemistry.
And chemistry was, I think, the biggest reason why his time in Arizona never worked out.
He and Kyler Murray just didn't click.
He didn't click with Berset either.
And I know a lot of people have said in the past, like, oh, we can't separate.
And that is a bit of a problem.
I won't deny it.
But how many times have we seen him get wide ass open?
like no one around him for like a 20-yard radius and the quarterback, whether it's a Murray or
Brissette, ends up just force-feeding McBride who's triple-covered, triple-covered, you know?
The amount of times I have seen them throw into double or triple coverage to force-feed McBride or Wilson
while Harrison is open are actually more numerous than I would care to admit.
And I get the separation problem, but when he's wide open, you've got to throw to him, yeah?
Yeah.
It's not like that.
It's like, they're not even targeting him either.
And there are all those rumors going around that he just quit on that.
And hot take, can you blame him for quitting on the team?
No, Arizona is a joke organization.
They are one of the most poorly run franchises ever.
They are a perennial joke.
And yeah, and like I said, and when you have a team that would prioritize force-feeding,
a triple-covered tight-up.
end rather than getting you the ball when you're wide open, yeah, I think I would be a little
disillusioned. But now that he and Stroud of chemistry, I want to see what he can do. I'm not guaranteeing
any big, grandiose return to what he was, but I think it changes scenery will do him good.
I mean, you talk about the Cardinals and they are the, um, the sorriest franchise in all of sports.
Oh, by the way, the bill's just won. Josh Allen, Lux's way, I have another one. And like I
before.
It's just luck.
It's all luck.
Brother, I'm still in commercial.
I'm sorry.
Damn.
Well, it was a field goal?
Yeah.
This is just...
Well, I guess we'll move on to that.
I ended up changing this damn banner
three times now.
Oh, where the EFC standards?
Yeah, good job, Joe Brady.
Not messing around with it anymore.
All right.
There's a banner.
Bill circle the wagons.
Late field goal wins it for him in overtime from Tyler Bass.
After letting up the
tying score with four seconds to go in regulation.
Oh, excuse me.
I'm drinking Diet Coke, so I'm feeling a little gassy in here, you know.
Excuse me.
But what a game.
Potential game of the year.
I mean, I think the bills after the Pats game,
a lot of discourse about them being.
broad team and showed up on the road prime time.
Yeah, obviously, you know, Josh Allen made some boneheaded plays out there.
But at the end of the day, they skirted out of a road primetime game with a win against the
Super Bowl favorites.
And I say the discourse was very much against them about being a soft team because a lot of
people were starting to point at the bills as being scheduled merchants compared to the
Pats with the combined records of the teams that they've beaten, which I'll get that up in a
second.
The Texans who are one and four, the Chargers who are one and five.
The Texans beat the Titans.
They should be one.
Yeah, I said the Texans.
They're running four, yeah.
in the Lions who are 2 and 3.
I don't know how I feel about the Lions.
They're 2 and 3, but they shouldn't be.
It's just that defense is so ass.
I don't know how Arizona only scored 14 points.
That's how it would be.
But the point still stands, though.
The Bill's opponents that they have won against have a combined five wins.
The teams that the Patriots have just,
played combined at 11.
So,
fuck all the haters
because the Pats slung their dick around
against Vegas this week.
Sorry, we're not talking about the Pats.
Thoughts about this game?
Thoughts about the bills from you, fellas.
Didn't watch the game, from what I heard.
Josh Allen got very, very lucky
this time around.
Through a meatball sub to the defense.
made envy classic Josh Allen end of half throw.
Yes.
And then somehow,
some way he'll make miraculous plays to keep his team in positions.
James Cook will go underrated,
even though he should get more credit than he gets.
And then, you know,
Josh Allen will make enough plays to somehow,
some way get the Buffalo bills of victory in the end.
It just sort of happens like that.
the Rams were in position to win this game, and they got their field kick blocked.
So, yeah, and I will take responsibility.
I did someone jinx insane, well, the Rams are about to go kick this field goal.
They did not.
They got it blocked.
But, oh, no, this is just a good win for the Buffalo Bills,
and they're still at the top of the AFC East.
see j i just i can't why i was a patch time a little jealous because we all can admit
josh allen is just lucky that's what this game was it was just luck you know defense blocked
the kick he made like a decent run off of a defensive laps and you know and his kicker gets it done
like you know like uh this is now the third straight week where josh allen really has not looked good
I mean, he's not playing terribly.
He's just pedestrian and I'm supposed to believe this is an MVP frontrunner.
I mean, I don't know.
It's the same song and dance.
He'll ball out in the regular season.
Mahomes takes his lunch in the playoffs.
World keeps spinning.
But for me, it's not even about the bills.
It's about the Rams.
You're now two and three and you're the Super Bowl favorites.
And I know what you're going to, and I have with the Rams here saying, oh, but the injuries,
everyone is hurt and everyone who's not hurt and everyone who's not hurt and everyone
who's playing is banged up.
I just got to say, Rams, with all due respect,
cry me a fucking river.
I mean, look at the Niners in your own division.
Brock Purdy's Sling of the Rock and half the team has been sacrificed to the electric
substation.
And hell as a Pat's fan, we have more players on IR right now than we did all of last
season and we're still three and two.
And we beat the bills, which you did not do.
So, like, don't get me wrong.
Injuries are part of the game.
They're a big deal.
But would you have teams, like I said, like the Patriots and the 49ers,
that are still pulling out wins despite being grievously injured,
I just think that that same excuse doesn't fly for the Rams.
You know what I mean, Tucker?
You see where I'm coming from here?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, oh, the high-end talent is saving Matt Stafford's ass.
I hate to tell you.
I mean, he was good, you know, 40 to 54, 383 yards, three touchdowns.
But, you know, like, I get it.
I understand.
But so far this season, he's been kind of iffy, I think, up to this point,
six touchdowns, six picks, which with that roster,
is not excusable. I'm sorry. I don't know what it is.
Like, this was the first really, like, elite Matt Stafford game that he's had all season.
And I know some quarterbacks, you know, take a while to find their footing, but you're the reigning MVP.
This shouldn't be the case.
Yeah, not a, not the greatest start to the season for them.
Aaron Donald looked good today.
Yeah. I was just loving some of them.
Yeah.
Yeah, but unfortunately, Miles Garrett isn't there to help him.
Yeah, what's his timetable looking like right now?
He's still on injured reserve, so he still has at least, what, one more week?
Yeah, I think so.
Apparently, he's making good progress, but there's no timetable for his return.
They could very well, like, leave him on IR after next week.
They said that AI overview says that they are not expected to open his 20.
one day practice window during week six,
which would be against the Cardinals next week.
I saw a meme that said the Brown sold L.A. Lemon.
That was funny.
That's a good one.
Stay in the NFC West.
Niners holding strong versus Seahawks.
Defensive stand on the final drive of the game.
I mean, this, what, this was basically how a lot of the, this basically had the Seahawks just, just lost, right?
One bad play.
And that was, that was basically the difference maker.
And it was them fumbling in the end zone.
Before I get started, do you, did you guys see what Mike Evans did to Trayvon Diggs?
Oh, yes.
Well, yeah, I kind of remember that there was a lot more that happened in this game.
But yes, that was hilarious.
That was so unnecessary.
And then what he said during the press conference, I'm not going to lie.
If I'm Trayvon Diggs, I'm going to remember that the next time I see him.
He is getting nothing if I had any sway.
I would treat locking down Mike Evans as my life goal because how the hell are you going to say we friends, we know each other?
with something you're on the field.
You don't know who I am.
He was playing with him.
You know who he was.
But anyway, back to the...
I picked the...
Seattle's loss to win.
I lost that bet.
I believe Chris picked San Francisco
to come in and get the job done.
Yeah, I did.
Without Dre Greenlaw for the entirety of the second half, by the way, which...
Yep, because he got himself ejected.
Yeah, which, like, there was some...
There was some bad blood going on in that,
pretty much that entire...
game, which like kind of gave you vibes of 2013 and then Drey Greenlaw with a sneaky
headbutt on a defenseless, defenseless bench player.
I forget who he had butted, but, which by the way, breaking news, uh, Drey Greenlaw suspended
for next week.
No big surprise there.
I didn't even like, I don't feel it.
Probably.
I don't know.
He, it looked like when he was, honestly, I don't think so.
when he was on the field and like Fred Warner came over and looked like he was trying to be like what the fuck happened uh Greenlaw like kind of motion that he headbutted him so like I think he's pretty aware of what he did is going to be pretty accepting of what like the camera has like the camera got them got that whole interaction so I think he'll be pretty accepting of that suspension to say the least but when that initial ruckus first start or that initial
scrum started up. I didn't even realize, well, I was mainly like, oh shit, yeah, like
2013 all over again, like this great. I even realized that Greenlaw, even headbutted a guy.
It kind of got like washed literally in the middle of everything.
But yeah, San Francisco 49ers came up to Seattle, did what they were supposed to do and got
the job done. Congrats to them. Brock Purdy played well enough. I don't know. I don't
even they're still undefeated they're five and oh now at next week they got the commanders
they're they're probably going to go six and no are they the best team in the NFL right now
because nineers yes it's either them Minnesota surprisingly or jack we can't give Minnesota
that tag I they're five and no is I know they're five I know I know offensively they're not
deserving, but I have to acknowledge the defeated
the street because they keep winning these games.
But it's either between them and Jacksonville.
That's how I see it.
Yeah, Jacksonville and, you know.
I'd say San Fran and Jacksonville are your two best teams right now, too.
Yeah.
I can't give it to Minnesota.
Oh, no, in Kansas City.
Oh, yeah.
Can't forget about Casey.
That's why we forgot them.
Yeah, I mean, I agree with you guys.
I do.
I just want to say one thing, though, about Minnesota real quick.
um
Minnesota's 5-0
the way that the or the 2019-2020
Steelers started like 5-0
2020 yeah and then
they ended up losing like their final five games
and getting bounced round one
that's how I view them
but anyway for the Niners Seahawks game
talk like you said that thing Mike Evans did
is I think one of the most disrespectful
bits of trash talk I've ever seen in my life.
Because Trayvon Diggs gets up in his face and starts chirping at him because that's what he does.
He likes to trash talk.
I just get in your head.
And so Diggs spins him or not Diggs up.
Evan spins him around and says, wait, who are you?
Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry, Trayvon.
Yeah, that's a sit your ass down moment.
Like, yeah, Evans son to you the whole game.
And the Seahawks fans have been having an.
absolute Hiroshima level temper tantrum after this game.
And you know why,
let's jump into it.
So it's third and ten.
Darnold gets a wide open JSN and the JSN channel is in her snoop dog and dropped it like it was high.
That was a tough catch.
Yeah.
I mean, I know, but no, I know it's a tough catch,
but you're one of the highest pay receivers in the game.
You're expected to make that.
He is a high-up catcher-on.
He got both hands on the ball, both palms on the ball like this.
I don't give a shit.
And especially because he was wide open.
Like, I'm sorry, that's not excusable.
And I know some shithead in the comments could be like,
well, can you catch that?
Counterpoint, I'm not paid over 100 mil to do it.
So, you know, you're comparing apples and bowling balls here.
And then fourth down.
He hits Cooper Cup.
Cup goes.
He shrugs off a tackle,
dies forward,
and it gets ruled short.
You know,
they review it.
And I guess there was enough evidence to overturn it
because it looks kind of iffy.
And you guys know the rules.
If there's not enough evidence,
it defaults the initial ruling.
And you just have to hope when stuff like that happens
that the initial ruling is just on your side
because it was pretty hard to see.
And it looked like the ball,
like his arm holding the ball was like extended out of bounds which does not count and i get to see
all these stupid what about it is like oh so that means every toe tap catch doesn't count once again
bad faith comparison you know uh complete that like i said it's really just a bad faith comparison
and it's like no because you don't have possession yet it's like oh so all the pylon touching touchdowns
don't call.
Like once again,
pylons are very different.
It's a false equivalence.
And I think for the rest,
it's literally a damned if you do,
damned if you don't.
And I've been pretty hard on NFL officials
and rightfully so.
But Seahawks fans,
I would just say that sucked,
but you didn't get screwed.
That was the right call.
I got to look at that,
the play-by-play of that game
to refresh my memories.
Also, is it near the Seahawks just not looked as good this season?
You know, usually Super Bowl hangover is supposed to affect the losers, not the winners.
I mean, Darnold had two picks.
He was sacked five times.
It was pretty ineffective.
The running game hasn't gone really anywhere.
And I'm kind of, and I'm sympathetic to that because Jeterian Price is on IR.
And Zach Charbonnet is still hurt.
J.S.N had a good game.
You know, five catches.
102 yards and a touchdown outside of that drop.
But the defense has been given up a lot of points lately.
And I don't know.
I don't know what to tell you.
I mean, at least for the offense about how different they look,
do you really think that was it losing Kubiak?
It would have to be, right?
Well, Kubiak's on the offensive side of the football.
And I mean, like the Seahawks outside of week one have still put up.
up 30 plus points per game.
Well, once, you know, I get that, but at the end of the day, it's not about stats.
It's about the eye test because the eye test can tell you more.
It's like sure you're, I mean, sure the numbers look good, but if you yourself don't look good,
then that usually means there's an underlying issue.
Yeah.
Also, even Donald himself hasn't looked that good, especially this season.
It's just he's, it's like playing mad.
and he's just spamming the JSN button.
Yeah, I think part of that.
Wouldn't you spam the JASN button?
Wouldn't you spam that button?
I would spam it.
What about is him?
No, but I think Sam Donald's also on his second week back from injury.
I think he's still trying to get back into the,
really actually get back into the groove.
They also played the Niners.
It's week five.
I'm not,
I don't feel like I should be too worried about the Seahawks just yet,
especially since they're three and two.
A lot of season to go.
You could say that the Niners are already running away with it,
but like I said, a lot of season to go.
Oh, excuse me.
All right.
Sunday night football, Ravens Edge, the Falcons and OT.
Tuck, before I leave it off to you,
I mean, I feel like this was another game
where it kind of just came down to one thing and one thing only.
my old Pennix was not a quarterback for overtime.
But I'll leave the thought.
I'll leave the floor to you, Mr. Ravens fan.
Guys, I don't know what to tell you.
This game, I was so conflicted by the end of this game.
I was happy we won, but at the same time,
If you watch that game, how the hell did we win that game at some points in time?
Because in the beginning, we were dominant.
Like, it felt like we were flexing our muscles, even though we only had three points,
even though we had that damn fumble to Mark Andrews, which I will get to a minute.
We just felt like the better team.
And then, unfortunately, towards the end of the half, Michael Pennix came alive because
our offense just sputters from time to time.
and it does certain things
like not be able to pick up a first and five.
But then they came alive.
They scored a touchdown.
We come back and score a field goal
before the end of the half.
Yada yada y'a.
And so here comes the Falcons.
They're able to move the ball at will.
Key third downs against our defense.
We can't generate a pass rush.
Drake London gets open.
Drake London wants the first down.
He gets the first down.
Just like clockwork.
then Zach is a curious branch gets
gets open for a first down
it's like oh no not this
we get the ball bag
we're not moving the ball
enough and then it's like three and out three and out
and it's like dear god why is this happening
to us
and then eventually we do score
to make it 15 to 20
we try to get the two point conversion
Mark Andrews again
can't catch the ball it gets
punched out by Jesse Bates, who had a hell of a game, by the way. He had a decent,
he had a great game. Unfortunately, it was all for not, but the Atlanta Falcons kept scoring
to then officially make it 23 to 15 because we just couldn't stop them, or we just couldn't
stop them from scoring field goals, and we just couldn't put any points on the board once it was 15, 17.
They scored six more points. And then we had to go.
go down the field with our offense, our backup's quarterback, and a running back who usually
isn't in the most of the design with Justice Hill because we had to put Derek Kimmery.
And then we miraculously score a touchdown and get the two-pointed version.
I'm thinking, okay, we can do this, but there's still time left on the clock, and Michael
Pennix has been killing us. All they need is a field goal to win the game.
Unfortunately, disaster strikes the Atlanta Falcons when Tvarious Robinson gets into the backfield, almost untouched, and then wham!
Hits Michael Pennix literally out of the game.
He tried to come back in for a player to him, but it's just like he couldn't do it.
But Am walks to it, he gets a pass in before overtime, and it's just like, yeah, they're playing for overtime.
We won the toss.
We go down there and score.
leave the Falcons with a little under three minutes to score, and then
Tua comes back onto the field, and two is the game away.
Just throws a four-piece lemon pepper to the defense.
Kyle Hamilton and Atlanta native picks the ball off, and the game was over.
Ravens miraculously win this game, even though at some points in times,
it looked like it was going to be one of those games where it just slips away.
but no, we pulled through in the end, and I'm happy for us,
but at the same time, there's a lot of things we need to clean up on both sides of the ball.
Atlanta, their quarterback situation is probably the same as it was last year.
I'm not sure how long Pennix is going to be out.
It could be for one week.
He could play next week, but it looked like it hurt.
It looks like it was his ribs that were the problem.
Hopefully that he can pull through because,
Tua is Tua, and he's going to Tua all over the place, both good and bad.
So hopefully Michael Pinnock can come back and be the quarterback of this team because they desperately need it.
But with all the injuries that he has, you've got to be a bit concerned about it.
All and all, good team one for the Ravens.
Solid.
We got Cleveland coming up next.
And Atlanta has to recover, lick its wounds, and prepare for its next game.
C.J.
I'm not going to lie to you guys.
I didn't see the entirety of the game,
you know,
probably because I was on my way back up north.
But, you know,
I was keeping track of it on my phone.
And,
oh, my God.
First of all,
for the Ravens shout-out Pro Bowl or Tyler Huntley.
I'm still not calling him Snoop.
I'm not doing it.
But.
but hey you know we stepped in and got the job done say it with me kids i can't believe it's not lamar
but as for the falcons i want to talk about the vibe shift that happened when toa came into the game
it was so funny penix leaves two comes into the huddle there's a pick there's a video
you could find it probably on nfl memes ig on their instagram page where
Bijon Robinson actually tried to sub Tua out.
He was trying to wave him off the field.
He saw him and said, oh, absolutely not.
And I know someone who's a Falcons fan,
and she literally said, like, you know,
she turned off the TV when Tua came into the game.
And I said, probably a wise choice.
And, you know, Tuck, you said it better than I ever could.
First, his first snap of overtime.
and an immediate number three with extra pickles to the deep, oh, second.
Well, either way, like I said, immediately number three with extra pickles,
air mailed right to the defense.
And let me just say, the more I think about it,
his nickname Tua turned a ball over has got to be, I think,
one of, if not the best slanderous nickname in sports.
sports history because I'm not going to lie.
My favorite slander is a nickname, even though I respect it as a player, was Russell Westbrook, when they call him Westbrook.
But the more I hear Tua turn to ball over, that's just the final.
And rightly so.
Yeah, you know, I thank Tyler Huntley for played a great game.
I think the real story, unfortunately, is that the falc, like, Michael Pennix is definitely going to be their guy this season.
but like it's a matter of if they can keep him healthy and if he can
if he's not in that quarterback then that's it like that's the season really because
two is sucks and Cooper Rush may have his head on may have his head on a steak if
if he goes back in at quarterback at any point this year so it's it's penis or bust here
That is a way to put it
Such a child
Oh you're a child
Talk, come on
Am I wrong though?
It really is
Okay
Anything else from this game
We want to touch on
Outside of the Falcons being overly dependent on
PennX
So
No
I don't think so
No
I'm good.
I'm satisfied.
Yeah.
CJ, anything out of you?
No, that is all.
Cool.
Cool.
Cool, beans, man.
Yeah, that's all the scheduled content that we have for you today.
Anything else that happened in the news that we want to get to, or are we all set?
There is that one thing.
Okay.
To all my NFL fans out there, which, if you're not an NFL fan, you're watching this,
why but hey we appreciate it i i do want to say have you guys noticed the that every game is
becoming a penalty paloosa yeah like and we are on track to the most penalties ever i think
this is the most penalties through the first like four or five weeks since uh since like what
1978 or whatever the number was most penalties accepted as of week four we had 17 touchdowns
nullified by penalties whereas this time last year I think it was like five I'm sure that number
has increased this week I'm not entirely certain but I once again I would imagine that it has
so remember during the offseason everyone was fretting about the replacement refs and I said you know what
let them buy for the job because surely they can't do worse than what we're seeing now.
This is why.
This is why every game having what, like 17 penalties.
Hell, Chris, we're patch fans.
You saw Pat's Raiders had 20 combined penalties.
The game we just finished, you know, Rams bills, I think, had like 22.
And it's insane.
And if I wouldn't know better, I would say, hmm, yeah, this is Vegas.
House always wins.
Now, do I have any proof to back that up?
No.
But would I be shocked?
Also, no.
And it's either Vegas or a complete,
not a power trip.
Hell, we already had two reps,
like a side judge of one crew and actually a head referee,
Adrian Hill.
Both of them were actually suspended already,
you know,
because they were behaving to put it nicely like characters.
It was like real characters.
I would say. And from where we sit now, it's just something's got to give. Like the owners,
I think we're probably going to have to talk about it. Because like this is getting, it's just getting
ridiculous. And I think you all can agree about how every time a team starts getting a little bit of
momentum, flag. Or say, oh, you just score a touchdown. Flag. Interception flag. Like,
it's like there's a penalty every three plays. It's getting, I just.
It's becoming unwatchable.
And I know not the only one that's noticed this.
Yeah, and it also just ruins the flow of a game, too.
It really does.
It makes it hard for a team to get any sort of rhythm or teams to get any sort of rhythm.
And you end up getting pretty sloppy games as a result.
I mean, like, if there's a penalty, there's a penalty.
But like, if we're talking like ticky-taggy calls that, like, they need to chill the hell out, man.
Yes, they do.
I'm sick and tired of it.
Yeah.
Like, I remember a game that I went to from, like, a couple years ago, the year that the
Pats were really dog shit.
That was a major year.
I went to the game against the dolphins.
And some of the calls that were made on the field were absolutely heinous.
I mean, never mind the rep, like the whole thing with the flags, just the refs in general
this year.
I mean, we just saw.
We just saw two reps get suspended.
Yes, one rough actually tried to put their hands on a player.
And another said, fuck you, multiple times to trade McBride.
Like, the riffs are wild in this year.
Yes.
But, I mean, I do like that.
The NFL is starting to crack down on the refs, though.
I like to see it.
Hey, hey, man.
That will be started.
Here comes the NFL.
Anything else?
All right.
