Boy, I cannot wait for us to start doing two days again.
I cannot wait because the NFL is throwing us
headline after, headline after headline,
Terry McLaurin requests to trade.
Micah Parsons no longer wants to be a Dallas cowboy.
Goodness gracious, what's going on?
This is the podcast.
It may not have always showed it in the statute,
but you can see him making throws when he needs to make.
make the throws, back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
This is the Fulmouroski podcast by Power 88 Dean Radio and Secret Weapon Consulting.
He's C.J. Medeiro from Chris Kostitch.
I love Drake May.
I love Drake May.
Boy, do we have a good one for you.
Got to be talking about Terry McLaren and Micah Parsons both requesting trades, both a little bit different scenarios going on for them, but still big news in terms of big time players for these NFC teams, the Washington commanders and the Dallas Cowboys.
So we're going to be getting into that in just a second.
But in terms of other NFL news and whatnot, NFL season, of course, well,
underway. Hall of Fame game just happened last Thursday with the Chargers laying the smackdown
on the Detroit Lions. I'm just bringing that up. I'm not asking us to talk about this because
it's just a preseason game at the end of the day. Not even just preseason. It's the whole
thing game. Yeah, exactly. Which is like pre-season. Yeah. Either way, it's just, it's just nice to see
football again you know it's just yeah it's just like the hall of fame game is always the sign football
is back that's that is the really the main purpose of the hall of fame game besides seeing
everyone in shrine and whatnot um of course uh NFL hall famers were finally inducted uh sterling sharp
uh Antonio gates uh those two had probably the two more memorable speeches I would say
Um, Sterling Sharp ended up giving his brother, Shannon, his gold jacket, uh, kind of as a salute to what Shannon did.
I don't know if it was at his Hall of Fame speech or whenever it was, but he gave Sterling two of his Super Bowl rings, uh, as like a gesture of like, hey, you know, even though you never got to share, you're my brother, like, we get to share this thing together type of thing.
and so Sterling was kind of paying that back.
I don't know if you saw that, CJ, but I thought that was...
No, I didn't, unfortunately.
Just that old dynamic, you know, just nice to see, you know.
Yeah.
It's heartwarming.
But, uh...
I hear you.
Did you see the Antonio Gates speech by chance?
No, I was busy during that time.
Well, anything on social media or no.
No, dude.
It's okay.
a good co-host, but...
It's okay. He had a nice gesture towards
Philip Rivers, like, thanking him for the memories.
And Philip Rivers, obviously, being in attendance for his
Hall of Fame induction speech, which also, by the way,
Philip Rivers finally announcing his retirement,
what, like week or two ago? We never even really talked about it, actually.
I mean, he finally announced it, but he was always retired.
He hadn't been playing for some time.
It's just a typical now.
Because he's technically eligible for next year's Hall of Fame class.
Adam Schaefter, by the way, for those who don't know, put out a graphic.
About 26, Hall of Fame, first-time eligible players, right?
Yeah.
And we got big names, lawyer Fitzgerald, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Jason Witten, Frank Gore, Julian Edelman, Marcus Pouncey,
Marquise Pouncy, I mean
LaShawn McCoy, Thomas Davis,
Greg Olson, Alex Smith,
Des Bryant, Steven Gostowski,
Gino Atkins,
David Di Castro,
Mike Pouncey,
Sean Lee, Todd Gurley,
and Jarrell, Casey.
First thing I did when I saw that graphic was,
did you really sneak Alex Smith in there,
bro?
You snuck Alex Smith in there?
You snuck Todd Gurley?
I look, me wrong.
I love Todd Gurley, but
you know,
Yeah, Todd girl is a weird one because he had such a great prime, but his, how many seasons did you end up playing like five?
It wasn't even a lot.
Five or six, yeah.
Yeah, you didn't have injuries, man.
Talk about injuries cutting a career short.
Here's your example.
Should we play a game of, should we play a quick game of who that list makes the Hall of Fame?
Yeah.
All right.
All right.
here we go first larry fitzgerald yes not even yes but better be first ballot yes yes okay a top five
receiver of all time drew breeze yes 100% philip rivers i'm not gonna lie you know like i i think he
will but i'm i on a personal level i do not think he should i feel like you can't tell
the story of the NFL without bringing up like that's the thing like
I feel like there's a lot of guys in NFL history that are like you could debate on
if they should be in the Hall of Fame or not, but you can't tell the story without him, you know.
I mean, I guess, but like, I don't know.
Like when his career, has he ever been, like, even a top three quarterback?
Never.
I can, I think we can easily say that he's never been a top three or top five quarterback.
Honestly, I don't even know.
Like you just said, I don't even know if he's ever been top five.
I've never been a fan.
So, I mean, I'm leaning towards he.
I think he'll get in.
I just don't think he should.
Yeah.
But anyway, Jason Witten.
Yeah.
Easily.
Frank Gore.
Yeah.
The thing is, Frank Gore is another one of those cases where he's kind of like an
Eli Manning in the sense where his stats came from never being like a world beater.
but just longevity because the amount of times he's been a top five running back in the league
I think I can count on one hand but a lot of it just came for his longevity so I think he'll get
in Julian Edelman as a Pat's fan no I don't think so no he's I think he's going to I don't think
he will no like if you were to if you were to like separate his regular season stats from
his playoff stats and just look at playoff stats he would go to the hall of fame yeah that's just
the thing yeah so he is arguably one of the best postseason players ever and i think he's actually
the second best postseason receiver ever only behind jerry rice but you know like yeah
yeah he doesn't back it up you feel like you can make a point to i was just say a lot of people
point to his lack of Pro Bowls, but
I just, I don't think
Pro Bowl is that really good of a metric
anyway, but no.
No, I'd have to agree.
Like, I think
if you were, if
just postseason alone, he could probably get
in, but like looking at everything else,
he's not like,
it's not like he's that high ranked
up like an all-time receiving list,
you know? No, he's really not.
Yeah.
Markies Pouncy
Steelers
Yeah
Tulting
Honestly, tilting no
Same
I just
When I think of the great
Centres
I don't think of him
And I'll get his brother Mike out of the way
Also no
Agreed
LaShawn McCoy
Another one where
Slamed
sunk all very good.
I just, his prime was really short.
If you remember,
but the prime was so good.
It was.
The thing is,
when you think of what happened in Buffalo,
right,
how good he was and then just fell off a cliff,
couldn't stop fumbling.
I don't know, man.
And then after him,
Thomas Davis.
Thomas Davis.
Panthers linebacker.
Yep, yep.
I'd have to look at his stats.
Once again, another just hollow very good.
I feel like we're getting a little too lax on who makes the Hall of Fame.
I feel like the list at that point is really just notable guys that have a chance at that point.
Moving on, Greg Olson.
I would mean, yeah.
Yeah, I would put him on.
I would go, yeah, he's a top 10 tight end of all time, I think.
He was considered like a top five tight end for a number of years, in general.
True.
All right.
Alex Smith.
No.
No, I'm sorry.
No.
And maybe you could even throw out the argument of if you can't tell the tale of the NFL without Alex Smith.
Definitely not.
Counterpoint.
They really snuck Alex Smith on this list.
Like, no.
he's never in his entire career but a top five quarterback i just was not worth going what was he
like first overall actually yeah never really found his footing until he went to kansas city
just i'm sorry you cannot sell me on that try as you may world he found his footing like in that
2011 season or yeah that 2011 season with san fran and continue forward but then colin cavernic took
his job true uh des bryant no no i mean don't get me wrong he was fun to watch it's just
did not have the longevity yeah he wasn't good enough for long enough true up next we got
drum roll please
Stephen Gisgowski
the kicker
already tilting no because
it's hell for a kicker
to make the Hall of Fame
Yeah I feel like just from
That's another one
Like I don't even have Gaskowski's stats up
In my head
But you know
I don't get me wrong
He's a top 10 kicker of all time
Like there is no debate
I mean if you
If we're going to make the debate
That he's a top 10 kicker
of all time.
I feel like he's got to be in the hall then.
But kicker.
Yeah, it's a kick.
Okay.
Then let's look up all the kickers that are in the Hall of Fame.
There's like, how many even are there?
Like five?
There are currently two full-time NFL kickers enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
Jan Stenrod and Morton Anderson.
Additionally, George Blanden, Luke Rose are in the Hall of Fame,
but they played other positions.
in addition to kicking um so uh morin anderson was inducted in 2017
ah well so i i would assume next on the list would be like venetary
yeah uh make a good point he just has he's not getting him for venetary if he does
uh gino atkins of the cincinnati bengals
okay hear me out that that guy was an absolute game record for his entire
career he was every bengals fan knows and if you know ball that then you know that this guy was not
someone to be screwed with the thing is i think he'll get in but they're going to make him wait for
the sole reason of he was just on some really not good bengals teams yeah that's for sure but there
are also a lot of great players that were on some really shitty teams that still made the hall so
and there are a lot that haven't so there's that uh stealers guard david de castro no no not at all uh
sean lee cowboys no absolutely not this man like you could not stay healthy like ever get get go through
how many more on the list jesus uh two oh okay i was about
to say if there's still if there's like five just say the
whichever okay Todd Gurley who we already mentioned yeah
and uh Jarrell Casey from the Titans
okay it's both now then all right yeah all right word
that was a that was a good first segment it was
and I will maintain though we we got to get a little tougher on who gets on the
hall yeah I can agree with that all right I'm gonna take a quick break
when we come back we're gonna get into these trade what requests
Terry McCleoran requesting a trade amissed a contract holding and Micah Parsons.
He's fed up with Jerry's shit.
He's fed up with it.
So he requested a trade.
All that afterwards.
It may not have always showed it in the staff sheet, but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws.
Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns.
Someone's got to get that six or seven spot.
He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie.
Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Welcome back to the Fulmaruski podcast.
B.C.J. I'm Chris.
We're both technically Chris.
True. True.
Terry McLaren.
This is just sometime last week, maybe over the weekend.
I am very terrible at keeping track of the days at this point of my life.
I'm 24 and it's just terrible.
He requested a trade amidst a contract.
So basically this whole offseason was essentially contract.
hold out that you could make the case for and then shows up to practice or didn't show up to
the conditioning shows up to practice he's practicing all of a sudden requests a trade
during this obviously during the time prior to this trade request you know you got a guy like
courtland sun that ended up getting a three year 33 million dollar deal and that's basically
the line where Terry McLaurin wants to beat
or higher than that.
So
something's not
it's not going great right now
if you're Washington.
You're definitely not in great spirits.
If you're a Washington fan, damn.
You know, we actually got some good football.
The organization's finally at a place
where we want to be.
Has been like that for 30 freaking years.
You got the quarterback.
You got a good wide receiver.
You just got a good team overall.
all and then this happens and you're like shit what did we do to deserve this but cj you uh you got a quick
message for for them folks um what's the message he's gonna resign and i mean think about it i'm
so tired of the trade rumors everyone like really really like stop and think wherever you have a
big name player who's unhappy with his contract and demands a trade.
How often do they get traded?
Maybe like one in every 10 cases.
And that's if that.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen.
I'm just saying it happens enough.
It happens few enough.
That's not even a, that's not even grammatically correct.
But it just, it doesn't happen enough to warrant concern.
It's like once in a blue moon.
You want to know what?
Well, let me tell you how this ends.
The commander's cave and he gets a new deal.
And that's exactly why.
He's not going to get traded.
I know I'm a Pat's fan.
All my fellow Patriots fans are saying, oh, my God, they're going to trade for him.
The thing is, they're not even entertaining offers.
They're hanging up the phone when they call for him.
And they're just saying, no, we don't want to.
So they're just going to end up cave in.
They're going to acquiesce.
this always happens, like every single time, like, we, we in the NFL media,
because I guess we technically count as that now, fall for it.
I mean, remember, it's like, oh, the Cincinnati Bengals are definitely going to lose T. Higgins.
Oh, the Browns are definitely going to have to trade Miles Garrett.
Like, oh, this player is upset.
They're definitely going to have to move on.
It's getting bad.
And then they re-sign.
Remember, I was like, oh, the Dolpherson.
are definitely going to release Tyree Kill.
And they're all still there.
Look, guys, guys, I know it's not fun.
I know it's not the sexy story you want, but nothing ever happens.
When it comes to these trades and disgruntled players, nothing ever happens.
Every single one of these stories is a nothing burger.
And honestly, I think he's going to get a new contract before the season even starts,
like the regular season at least.
oh you mentioned parsons he's going to be a little different we have like a whole other thing to talk
about with him but right now we're going to keep it on macloren but he's not going anywhere i'm so
tired of this i really am like i am genuinely just so past every single story and every and i used to
take debate right i was full on with oh higgins is going to leave then what's going to happen oh my god
Michael or Miles Garrett demanded a trade.
And every time I take the bait.
And it's like, you know what?
No, no more.
Like, he's just going to resign because that's always what happens.
Yeah.
No, I'd have to agree.
Terry McLaren's most likely just going to stay put.
But with that being said, it's always fun to look at the best odds for teams to land, Terry McLaren.
That's always fun.
Yeah, how do they calculate that?
Like, legitimate question.
How do you calculate odds for a trade?
Like, that doesn't seem to be any empirical way to go about it.
I think it is someone that just calculates, like, what the team has to offer, what kind of situation the team is in.
So take the Patriots, for example, right?
So they, besides the commanders who are, like, minus 250 to keep, uh,
Terry. The Patriots are plus 4.50. They're the favorite in terms of non-commanders team.
Yeah, non-commanders teams. And you know, you look at the Patriots, this is a team that still has a solid amount of caps base to work with, or at least decent enough to maybe even sign Terry.
Where else? What else was I saying?
How they calculate? Oh, yeah. Patriots just have like,
need just help in the wide receiver room still you could probably argue on that
um just seems like a favorable spot or a favorable player for a team like the Patriots to get
and they have some assets to get rid of if they if they choose to yeah i definitely
think so uh if there if he gets traded which it won't happen then i feel like it would probably be to new
england now if you're not a pat's fan patriots fans have dubbed new england the interest kings because that's
always how it is especially with wide receivers they always show interest but somehow they're never
able to seal the deal i mean maybe it'll work but honestly like i said he's just not even get traded why
why are we doing this man yeah but um one of the problems with mclorin though and this isn't even
a trading thing it's more of a logistical thing is that he wants over 30 mil a year it says currently
asking for the 33 mil but i've also heard reports that he won't take any less than 30 the commanders
don't want to give him that because i think he's also about to be 30 or 31 and wide receivers
sometimes can just immediately fall off a cliff after they turn 30
And I understand the commanders don't want to risk that, but also what choice do you have?
Because when you remove...
Terry McClare is 29.
Oh, 29.
So he's about to be 30.
Yeah.
So the thing is...
He's going to be 30 September 15th.
Yeah.
So not even three weeks into the season.
He's going to be 30.
That's going to be a tough task.
And honestly, if you're the commanders, you have to keep.
him because you take him out of that room and then it's debo samuel who is washed i mean
is at is throwing let's just say three years 40 million let's just say that is that too
much to ask for uh chris i think he's asking for 33 the 30 mil a year he's
asking that's that's that or 33 that's just the I was I was thinking it was just more than
33 no that's not total that's just like a year yeah no I know I know three we just said like
three years 40 million it's not yeah I meant I meant three years 40 million a year uh it depends
on a lot of it would also depend on guaranteed money too because yeah that's true if it's like
three year if it's 40 million year right
so do that over three years is 120 million if that's only like 75 mil guaranteed i'd say do it
but the thing is i guess we just don't know what he wants and guarantees yeah the guarantee could
really and that's obviously like the problem here is like do does washington do right by
this receiver who's been in the like the literal shit for washington up until this point
like that's that's basically the decision you have to make do you do right by your vet at this rate
which common sense you would think that they would but you know football still we still live
in a business world where shit doesn't work out that way yeah i mean that's that's just how it is
like he's going to re-signed you almost no not almost you have to like you you have no choice
yeah that's that's basically the long and the short of it like they they really do not have a choice
they have to do it like that like request a trade or not they have to get it done yeah anything else
you want to touch on with this uh nope i'm good right now on this once again everyone remember you know
What happens?
Nothing.
Nothing.
Micah Parsons requesting a trade saying,
I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys.
Now, this is a missed.
Both Jerry and his son, Stephen.
Well, basically trashing on Dak and Micah Parsons.
You know, they talked about Dak being injury prone.
Same thing with Micah, but Michael only missed four games last year.
I acted like he mislike.
75% of the season.
Let's get real here.
Let's get real.
So Mike Parson said, all right, fine.
I don't want to be here.
I don't want to be here anymore.
You don't want to talk shit about me.
You can shove it right back where you said it.
See,
what's the message here?
Well, don't take it from me.
Take it from Michael Parsons himself, brew me, because I'm reading his quote.
I stayed quiet, but again, after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives, I have made a tough decision.
I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys.
My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.
He also said, yes, I wanted to be here.
I did everything I could to show that I want to be a cowboy and wear the star on my helmet.
I want to play in front of the best sports fans and make this America's team once again.
This team, the team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, PA.
Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here.
I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present.
I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line of the organization.
are fans and my teammates.
I no longer want narratives,
create,
and spread to the media about me.
All right.
Now today,
Dallas Cowboys owner,
Jerry Jones,
not balking at Micah Parsons'
trade request,
is via CBS Sports
and told USA Today Sports,
he's not concerned
with fan perception
toward the negotiating process.
Now,
they're trying to negotiate a contract,
by the way.
This is all
it's not a contract hold out
kind of more so a contract hold in
Parsons is at practice
but Jones then said
this is really nothing new at all
for with Micah
and of course he wants to be paid
or one of the NFL's highest paid players
and his numbers certainly weren't
being in this and he's 26
and he's 26
but I think we're going to keep going with the old phrase
nothing ever happens
this might be one of those cases
but
with that being said
with the amount of people on the Cowboys
getting paydays
we've been trying to figure out
who's going to be the odd man out
dude Jerry will find a way to make it work
he always pays his stars
and the fact that Parsons isn't holding
out only lends further credence to my point that once again say it with me boys and girls
nothing ever happens if you said it at home thank you if not well shame but seriously like
you want to know how this is going to end i'll tell you how this is going to end so since he's
practicing and not holding out he's going to play into the season we're going to revisit this next season
and we're going to be like oh my god will he get traded oh who will go in the or who will be chosen
and the Micah Parsons free agency sweepstakes next season.
You want to know what's going to happen, Chris?
You want to take a wild stab what's going to happen?
He's going to get franchise tagged.
And then he's going to get an extension.
And then we're all going to look like jackasses with egg on our face because we believe this.
Jerry Jones always pays his stars.
However, the only inkling that I have that maybe this time it will be different was there was a crucial Jerry Jones quote, you missed.
When he was asked about fan perception, your message to the fans, he's like, don't lose any sleep.
over it.
Yeah.
And it's just like that is
one of the worst possible things
to say.
And look, Jerry Jones
refuses to be beaten at his own game.
But as an owner,
he is getting worse and worse
from green lighting,
the approval,
or I mean,
from approving green lighting,
if you will,
the hiring of head coach
Brian Schenheimer
to just throwing money around
regardless to now
where he just says,
you know what?
no honors could take shots at DAC like why why would you do that or not DAC uh parsons oh he took
some shots of that too but you know this was that was before so i don't know it just what's even
going on now like i just i don't know like this is so stupid but like i said parsons is just going to
play out his deal and then get tagged and then he'll probably get an extension when he threatens
to sit out after getting tagged.
This is one of those things where I think will be re-evaluated next off-season,
like I said, when he inevitably gets tagged.
Because he's still going to play regardless,
just because, you know, he's a dog and he loves football.
True.
Like I said, he's at practice.
So, like, I mean, at least McLaurin is a hold-in.
Parsons is actually practicing.
And even if he demands a trade, then,
what like they're just not going to do it and the cowboys once again are just telling teams that
call we're not entertaining any offers so once again i don't know jerry's probably just
foaming at the mouth that his team has this much coverage on him still yeah that's really all
he wants honestly i wouldn't be shocked if this were just a big show to stroke his ego if i had to guess
but honestly
Cowboys fans
he shouldn't have said it
but he is right
when he says
don't lose any sleep over this
because don't worry
you'll put yourself in cap hell
just to keep him
because hey Jerry needs
his stars
and that pass rush
is not really that great
without him
unless you have some young guys
who couldn't step up
but I wouldn't hold my breath
no I wouldn't either
um
yeah
ditto to everything that you basically
just said
it's
he's just going to be back.
He'll play.
Anything else
do you have on Micah?
No,
that's pretty much it.
Yeah.
One other guy that we have,
I feel like we've really failed
to talk about this whole saga
in the last couple of weeks,
and it's Trey Hendrickson,
because there was a point where,
you know, training camp had started.
He's all the way in Georgia.
Florida, actually.
Florida or whatever.
he's not he's nowhere near the city of Cincinnati that was that was a wild time but he's back
at practice now um yeah oh you mean that does a gruntal guy is literally back at practice is he a
hold in or is he just practicing yeah uh CBS sports had uh this this from last week he got
back to practice uh last Wednesday oh my god once again nothing ever happens like the Bengals
refused to trade him and you know what's going to happen right i bet you 10 bucks and when his contract
finally expires the bangles are literally just going to tag him yeah because they're refused
losing for nothing even though they put him there you know i just this is a nothing burger this is what
it is every time every time hell even uh what's his name there uh cook i'm a vikings
You know, Dalvin Cook's brother, James Cook, that's it.
Yep.
He was, you, putting his house up for sale and everyone brought it.
And now he's back at practice.
I mean, he's like, oh, sure, he's a hold in.
But he hasn't even demanded a trade yet.
Once again, another nothing burger.
And they're holding the happening sauce.
Once again, ladies and gentlemen, nothing ever happens.
They're all going to stay with their teams until they actually hit the open free agency market
or actually traded, I will not believe anything.
Yeah.
You mentioned James Cook.
James Cook sits out practice for business reasons.
Yeah, he hasn't even demanded a trade, so I don't know.
He's in the final season of his four-year rookie contract seeking a long-term deal just to wrap that one up.
So, Trey Hendrickson, to wrap this up in Florida, came back to training.
camp, so he didn't have to get hit with any more $50,000 fines, which we, we mentioned this
with, we mentioned this with when Hassan Redick was in his contract holdout, and he just kept
getting hit with like half a million dollars fines for not going to games, and to the point where
his agency finally fired him.
And the main point, really, is like, no one in their right mind is going to tell you or advise
you to sit out and continuously lose half a million or in this case $50,000 every single
day like no in the right mind should really be doing that so and then Trey Hendrickson put a
bow on it and said that it's a selfish holdout more so on his side because he explained
how he was he didn't want the whole thing about him going to Florida to be public
but it became public what are you going to do but that is that's all the scheduled content
that we have for you today um anything else you want they had in mind that you want to throw
out there since kind of a shorter episode that we had here today CJ no Adam will be happy
