Starting point is 00:00:00 On today's episode of the Fumble Ruski podcast, the NFL draft is over. A little recap of the draft and other storylines that came out of this past weekend. This is the Fulmourski podcast. It may not have always showed it in the stat sheet, but you can see him making throws when he needs to make the throws. Back-to-back games where he has three touchdowns. Someone's got to get that six or seven spot. He's an elite wide receiver as a rookie. Truly a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Welcome to the Full Maruski podcast, powered by Power 818 Radio and Secret Weapon Consulting. I need to stop saying Power 8. We had this conversation after our last episode. I need to stop saying Power 88. None of us are affiliate with Dean anymore. All right. So just keep it moving. I know.
Starting point is 00:00:50 It's just I got to find a way now to say Secret Weapon Consulting in a very, a very smooth manner now. All right. Just try it again. See what happens. It's your dad. It's company, right? It is. Ask your dad what he would think.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Okay, I'll ask him or watch the episode and they'll text me. Just go. Just start again. Welcome to the Fulmariski podcast, sponsored by Secret Weapon Consulting. We got C.J. Medeiros, we got myself Chris Kostitch for the show today. Of course, just going to do a little draft recap from this past weekend. And nothing else, because I don't want to talk. about anything else. I'm not even going to ask about
Starting point is 00:01:33 CJ's weekend because we may end up spiraling off into what the hell happened with Boston sports this weekend, but I don't want to do that right now. I don't. So yeah, draft recap. Winners and losers from this weekend, CJ. All right. Well, by far,
Starting point is 00:01:58 my biggest loser of the draft is could ruffles and feathers, but I really don't care. I got to go with the Rams. Now, I said this before, and Chris, I think you would agree, that this year, this upcoming year for the Rams, was supposed to be an all-in year, right? you draft the splashy, high-impact players. You know, you load up for one more year, try to out. Because with Stafford, you know, the quarterback, you're essentially, you're going year by year at this point.
Starting point is 00:02:38 You know, does that make sense? Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing is certain. So round one, 13th overall, you know, you could probably, you know, you can maybe stand another pass catcher for Stafford, maybe Kenyon Sadiq. There are some people saying, oh, maybe it's McCoylemon. They really like him.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Or they could beef up the offensive line. You know, World's Your Oyster. And they take Ty Simpson out of Alabama. Look, I'm not going to belabor the point because that's what a lot of last episode was about. But still, that was a pick. It was one of the picks of all time. I'll give it that. Next, round two, they went tight end, Max Clare from Ohio State.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Full disclosure, I like that pick. I think that's fine. Good job. Then round three, 93rd overall, they take tackle Keegan Trost from Missouri. Holy reach. That's one of the biggest reaches of the top 100. Then round six, they took CJ Daniels, wide receiver, Miami. Eh, it wasn't crazy about him.
Starting point is 00:03:47 And then round seven, they took a defensive tackle. Tim Keenan III from Alabama, who I personally did not have getting drafted. So, yeah, this was just not a good draft. I mean, you would not expect this to be an all-in type of draft, but apparently it was. I don't know. What do you think, Chris? For the Rams.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I mean, I think the issue really, I think the bigger issue really when it comes to the Rams is just how the Ty Simpson thing. has been going already over the weekend just for or just the reactions because the immediate press conference that followed with McVeigh and the GM
Starting point is 00:04:32 I mean it definitely you know I said on on Friday's episode you know I trust in what McVeigh's doing and I can imagine he probably had a lot of say in drafting Ty Simpson this doesn't really look like that at all just from the press conference
Starting point is 00:04:48 so that's that's a little concerning. But I mean, if you're Ty Simpson, this is like world-class, like, situation you,
Starting point is 00:04:59 you're entering right now. Like, this is great for Ty Simpson, but I, if you're Sean McVeigh, you're definitely not, uh, he definitely didn't seem that thrill with the fact that they picked up
Starting point is 00:05:13 Ty Simpson. Um, now he, he's probably assuming that, like, Stafford's got like three more years. left in him, if anything, which is why he's probably reacting like that, but he's also got three more years left in him. Now, you can also, now, if you want to make the argument that
Starting point is 00:05:29 Ty Simpson isn't going to be that guy in four years, then sure, fine, but I don't know. I think there's two sides of a coin here that, and just the unsettling part is that press conference. And I feel like that's going to be what a lot of people end up looking towards when you look at this class. 100%. I agree wholeheartedly. Now, Chris, we got another loser here.
Starting point is 00:06:00 The Minnesota Vikings. If I describe this class in a word, it's just weird. Yeah? Because, you know, they need some DB help, another corner wouldn't have hurt. Safety,
Starting point is 00:06:14 especially with Harrison Smith being as old as he is. I don't think he's on the team. anymore. Maybe, I don't know, patch up your offensive line, which was a weak point. Hell, maybe even look at a quarterback because, you know, nine ain't cutting it. Or what about a running back? You know, you ain't got many of those. So what do they do in their finite wisdom? They took 18th overall defensive tackle Caleb Banks out of the University of Florida.
Starting point is 00:06:45 I did not have him going in the first round. I did not have the first round. I did not have the first round great on him. You know, age, injuries, attitude. This was a pick. High upside, but it was a pick. I'll say that. Then they took a linebacker Jake Golda from Cincinnati in round two. I can't even lie. I don't hate it. Solid pick. Then in round three, they double dip at defensive tackle, taking a Dominique Orange from Iowa State, who by himself, is fine. Some people thought it might be a little early for him to go, but I personally thought it was fine. But why I don't like this is because you just drafted a defensive tackle in round one. Then also in round three, they went offensive tackle from Northwestern Caleb Tiernan.
Starting point is 00:07:35 It's fine. That's a good pick. Then they took a safety Jacobi Thomas from Miami, also in the third round, which once again, on paper, that's fine. But I urge you at home to remember they could have had Dylan Thinemann at Pick 18 and they just said, nah, screw logic. Or you probably could have had a manual McNeil Warren in round two and you did not. I mean, Jacoby Thomas is fine, but you probably would have rather McNeil Warren or Phenomen. So keep it on. Round five, they took two players. Michigan fullback, Max Bredesen, who a fullback in round five.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Okay, that's, you know, that's a decision. It's one of the decisions. I'll give them that. And also round five, they took corner Charles Demings from Stephen F. Austin. Yeah, yeah, I believe that's a D-2 school. Steve. Austin, I'm pretty sure his FCS. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:08:46 I thought they were D-2. Either way. Well, maybe they are in football. I just know that's a Division I school just from like March Madness and shit like that. Oh, well, either way, even though he's from a smaller school, I don't hate Charles Demings as a prospect. I actually like to pick. In round six, they took Daman Claiborne from Wake Forest, which I don't know how he fell that far, but fair enough. And then round seven, they took Cincinnati Center Gavin Gearhart, who I did not have getting drafted.
Starting point is 00:09:17 This was just a very confusing draft for the Vikings. And even if they did address some needs, they did it way later than they probably should have. So, okay, good for you guys, I suppose. But there is another team that we have to talk about. And there are some teams whose drafts, or full disclosure, whose drafts that I don't like,
Starting point is 00:09:41 like the Jags and Denver, but they didn't have a first round pick. So I can be nice to them. You know what I mean? But you know who I can't be nice to? The Houston Texans. Drafting Keelan Rutledge. I said this last time.
Starting point is 00:10:00 In the first round, that's such a horrific choice. Yeah. For once, as a Pat's fan, it's nice not to be the one drafting the guard too soon. That's how it feels, Houston. Sorry. I did not have a first round grade on Rutledge. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he went.
Starting point is 00:10:21 I had like a, I believe my grade for him was like early mid third round. Yeah, you better hope he pans out, Houston. That's all I'll say. Then in round two, they took defensive tackle Kate and McDonald, who by the way, I mocked to them in the first round. So, hey, I guess all's up well that ends well. So I guess can we call that another pick I got right? Can at least get partial cut out?
Starting point is 00:10:44 No, I'll give you that. So, yeah, McDonald did end up in a Texans uniform. So, for what it's worth, I do like that pick for them. Then round two also, they took Michigan tight end Marlon Klein. You know, I did not have Klein going until like the fifth or sixth round. This is now the second big reach you've done in the top 100. So moving on, they had two fourth round picks. They got, I believe it's pronounce Fibachi and Waiwu from Oklahoma, the Gar.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I like that's a good pick. He's one of the more slept on guards of that class. But they already drafted a guard, so why do you need in Waiwu? Whatever, he's fine. Also, round four, they took Wade Woodes from Clemson, the linebacker. And this pick I do like, though, round five, they took USC safety Camari Ramsey. I think Ramsey's a very good player. I don't know why he felt a round five, but I think he fits the Houston scheme very well.
Starting point is 00:11:50 then round six they took Boston College receiver Louis Bond which is fine I think he's fine and then round seven they took Indiana linebacker Aiden Fisher once again nearly double-dipped their linebacker which is not the biggest need in the world but damn I mean I kind of like
Starting point is 00:12:08 Aiden Fisher so it's okay but yeah overall this was a draft that Houston needed to nail and I just don't think they did Chris oh you're muted Sorry, I heard my dog barking and I was scared. It's going to go through my mic so I muted myself. I got nothing really else to add for Texans to be honest.
Starting point is 00:12:40 All right. I'm going to move on to some winners. All right. You want to talk winners now? Well, this is obviously a no-brainer, but I have to mention them. The Las Vegas Raiders. obviously you know Fernando Mendoza went number one
Starting point is 00:13:03 best QB in the class that's a no-brainer round two they went trade in Stukes from Arizona honestly I wasn't crazy about that pick I thought that was way too high for him but I get that he fits their scheme but either way that I was not crazy about then they had two third rounders where they took edge rusher
Starting point is 00:13:25 Ron Crawford, who was one of the big sleeper edge rushers of this draft, the pick that I like, and Guard Trazune, the third from Texas A&M, who I think could slot in right away and play it up a solid level. And this is the big one here. Round four, Tennessee quarter Gerbaud McCoy, who was supposed to be a first-round pick, but apparently his knee was in much worse shape than we had thought.
Starting point is 00:13:52 So because you spent the 101st 1,1st, overall pick on him, this now becomes relatively low risk, but with an extremely high reward. Also round four, they took Arkansas running back Mike Washington Jr. That was an amazing pick. Washington, I don't know how he fell to the fourth, but he's, he was damn good at Arkansas. They had Arizona safety, Dalton Johnson, and round five. Honestly, not a pick that I liked. But, but then they had three straight picks they do like for, uh, to, it out. Hezekiah Masses, California corner was a great pick. Oregon wide receiver, Malik Benson in round six, and then in round seven, Brandon Cleveland, NC State defensive tackle.
Starting point is 00:14:43 This draft is as close to an A plus, I think, as you can get. The only thing that kind of weirds me out is that I thought they were going to take another wide receiver, and they just kind of didn't. You know? So, I mean, no hate, but come on. No hate, a lot of hate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Another winner I have is the Kansas City Chiefs. Yeah, the defensive side of the ball got ransacked this off season, and it showed how they drafted. They trade up to number one to draft man's sword Delane. Not sure you need to do that. I thought he would have been there at nine. But either way, you got Delane, and I predicted him going there. Patrick Cleveland trading out.
Starting point is 00:15:25 So good times are head by all. Then they took Peter Woods 29th overall, the defensive tackle from Clemson. And he can learn under Chris Jones. That's huge. And they took edge rusher R. Mason Thomas in round two from Oklahoma. Great pickup. Yeah, I imagine Steve Spagnolo could line them up all over the edge there. And then every other pick, Jaden Kennedy from Oregon.
Starting point is 00:15:49 That's a good enough pick. Emmett Johnson from Nebraska isn't somebody that, I was particularly hyped about. But when a potential round three pick falls two and five, I get taking it. Wide receiver Cyrus Allen from Cincinnati has some solid upside. And round seven just for shits and giggles, they took LSU's Garrett Nussmeyer, where anything's got to be better than Chris Aladikun, right? True.
Starting point is 00:16:16 So Kansas City, I do think, had a very good draft. But you know who else, I think, had a really nice draft. And a lot of people, yeah, I would say a lot of people are talking about and a lot of people are divided. But honestly, the New York Jets had a really good draft. So obviously, first round you went over, David Bailey, Kenyon, Sadiq, and Omar Cooper, Jr. The Sadiq pick is really where I think people get divided. I think you could argue because he wasn't really a need. Kenyon Sadiq was a pure 100% luxury pick,
Starting point is 00:17:00 but he should be a good weapon for Gino Smith and whoever their QB one of the future is after him. So from a pure weapon standpoint, I thought it was solid, but, you know, it's also kind of impy. Omar Cooper Jr. at 30, I think it was a good pick. You could pair him up with Garrett Wilson and, you know, lighten his workload a bit.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And of course, David Bailey, he's a bit of a project for the second overall pick, but he is a little more sure than Arvel Reese. Round two, they took Indiana corner DeAngelo Ponds. If you can get past the fact that he's like 5'9, his ball skills are great, his instincts are great. It's just, will the height hurt him at the next level? I don't know. He has a solid vertical, give him that. then for the other picks in round four they took defensive tackle darrell jackson junior from
Starting point is 00:17:53 florida state and quarterback kade clubnick from clemson oh alliteration nice but uh jackson jr was a great pickup clubnick obviously a backup and maybe if he can live up to whatever promise he should have had at clemson then honestly hey maybe it's all going to work out at miami garden as cooper in round six and this could be a steel in round seven Kansas State Safety VJ Payne. Chris, your thoughts? I think if you're the Jets, I think that you're just happy that Kate Klopnik. I think you're happy that Carson Beck wasn't the quarterback that they selected at all during this draft. Because there's some whispers that the Jets were potentially going to trade back.
Starting point is 00:18:42 So when we initially talked about on Friday's episode, after the, the draft was that the Jets were going to be looking to trade back into the first round and potentially get a quarterback or get a guy there. And I think a lot of Jets fans thought it was going to be Carson Beck or something like that because I guess they had some sort of interest. But I think they're just happy they didn't get them. Yeah. I mean, if they did trade back up to draft Carson Beck,
Starting point is 00:19:09 I actually would have like genuinely felt bad. But there's another winner. that we need to talk about. The Philadelphia Eagles, trading up in the first round to steal Mackay Lemon from Pittsburgh. That's a nasty move right there. But hey, Howie Roseman just has that dog in him.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Then round two, Eli Stowers from Vanderbilt? Insane. So you already have a guy to learn behind Dallas Goddard for another year before he's inevitably out the door. And I know these are picks for the future, but wow, those picks are insane. And one of my big sleepers was Miami offensive tackle Markell Bell, who they took in round three. And Bell, this right here, guys, this is your Elaine Johnson replacement.
Starting point is 00:19:59 He's like what? He's like six foot eight, six foot nine, like three 30, three 40. And he can, and he's got that good lateral agility too. That man is a beast. And he can sit learn for a year. That's huge. Then round five, they got a backup quarterback for Jalen Hurts. the very capable Cole Payton for North Dakota State.
Starting point is 00:20:20 And they took guard Michael Morris out of Georgia. And towards the end of the draft, they grabbed. Cole was Nuski from Texas Tech. He's a safety. Defensive tackle, I believe it's pronounced Uar, Bernard, from the International Pathway Program. He's very raw, but trust me, if he develops properly,
Starting point is 00:20:44 Philly's going to have an absolute monster on their hands and another sleeper, Kishon James Newby from the University of New Mexico. Sorry, my girlfriend keeps calling. Hey, well, you know, you gotta tell her, it's podcast time. Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now. Listen and learn. Listen and learn. You know, the draft guys talk about. Listen now. Come on now.
Starting point is 00:21:06 But yeah, Philly, I think, crushed this draft. I quite, I quite liked it for them. And one more winner here. Well, we're going to stay in Pennsylvania for this one. for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Granted, you guys know I was not a fan of Maxi Notchor, but I can't blame the Steelers too much for drafting him, considering the guy they did want got sniped right before they picked.
Starting point is 00:21:37 So, you know, I guess that was the next best thing, although Caleb Lomu was on the board as far as tackles, but I guess Enchor fits the scheme better. I don't know. But round two, they took. took Jeremy Bernard from Alabama, the wide receiver. Finally, it looks like you have a wide receiver too for D.K. Metcalfe. How very nice.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Round three was Drew Aller from Penn State. And you know why I love this? You have Drew Aller and Will Howard, Penn State and Ohio State in the same QB room. I say fight, fight, fight, fight. Fight to the death. Oh, yeah. But the other two third rounders they had, Dailen Everett, the corner from Georgia, and Jennings Dunker, the Guard for Iowa.
Starting point is 00:22:18 These two guys could have gone second round and they slid to you at third and they sniped both of them. Great picks. Then Caden Wetgen from Iowa in round four. Riley, Noakowski from Indiana, the tight end at round five. I think we're solid picks. Noah Kowski especially. Then throughout round six and seven, they took Notre Dame defensive end Gabe Rubio, Oklahoma safety, Robert Spears Jennings, and Navy running back Eli Heidenreich.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Shout out the Naval Academy, baby. Absolutely. Shout out the name. But, yeah, Steelers, once again, this is another draft where even though I'm not crazy, Baddy, not sure, this was pretty close to an A. I'm going to do a little research. Last military NFL player drafted. That was drafted. I think it was the Vikings took that dude from the Army. What was name?
Starting point is 00:23:12 Andre Carter or something like that. So Landon Robinson. Oh, Landon Robinson also from Navy. was selected by the Bengals. Like four picks prior to Hydenreich. Oh, how do you like that? Trey Taylor was most recent out of Air Force, drafted in the seventh round,
Starting point is 00:23:35 223 overall by the Raiders, Joe Cardona, most notably. And I mean, who can forget about who can forget about our long snapper legend? Well, I wasn't even, well, yeah, obviously Joe Cardona, a log snapper legend, but who can ever forget? about Roger Stobach.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Yeah. All right. I guess moving on to some storylines then. Because I think the more interesting one that popped up for me was in this meme dump from
Starting point is 00:24:08 Ghetto Gronk. I don't know if you saw this from yesterday. It was pretty much after the draft it pretty much ended. And first clip is a reporter straight up asked John Lynch, the GM of the Niners, why he's so bad at drafting.
Starting point is 00:24:25 And then the next slide is, we're using AI to help us make draft picks. If you aren't using it, you're already behind. And then the picture below is a graph that is separate between teams that were able to pick above average value in terms of they picked at the either, they picked a player either at the correct spot
Starting point is 00:24:48 or they fell. and they got good value out of it, or the other side, below average, meaning they reached, and they reached and they reached and they reached. Cori and this graph, the 49ers reached on pretty much almost every single tick. Yeah. I was going to say,
Starting point is 00:25:08 I wasn't going to mention the Niners and my losers because, like I said, I try to go easier on teams that don't have a first round pick. Oh, yeah. But I'm sorry, Dejaun's stribling at 33. So literally the first pick of the second round, you took Old Miss to Jean Stribling.
Starting point is 00:25:26 I can't, I can't, I can't breathe. Like, I can't, I can't think. I can't see. Like, I can't. I am incapable. I just, wow. Yeah, they reached on damn near everyone. And if they had a first round pick,
Starting point is 00:25:44 they probably would have reached, or if they stayed in the first round. Yeah, honestly, I know he's considered one of the best GMs in the NFL, but like, give it another year or two, and I genuinely think we might need to have a really uncomfortable conversation about John Lynch.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Because people are like, oh, is steals like Fred Warner and George Kittle? All right, but what has he done lately? Because all I remember in recent vintage is the crashouts from Brandon Ayyuk, the absolute swing and miss of Trey Lance,
Starting point is 00:26:19 you know? Yeah, the swing and miss of Tray Lance, which I mean, they made up for by having Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant. They got lucky there. And I've said this before, and if you're new and you're listening, I'll say it again. I truly believe
Starting point is 00:26:34 that if they, and by the way, that wasn't strategy on it. Let's be honest, the Purdy thing, that wasn't strategy. They got lucky. They blindly stumbled into Purdy. So, if they do not stumble onto Brock Purdy, I genuinely think John Lynch loses his job.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Oh, yeah, because they're not making another Super Bowl run. They're not making two, three more Super Bowl runs after that. Like, we would not be watching Brock Purdy in the Super Bowl with the Niners against the Chiefs. Chiefs would probably be beating someone else at that point. Shit, for all we know, the Chiefs are probably losing to someone else at that point. But looking at this graph, I thought it was a little interesting. in general. I'm just going to do top three, bottom three on the average and below average.
Starting point is 00:27:27 The top three in terms of above average value, the commanders, the Panthers, and the Colts. Yeah, the Colts, they could, I mean, like I said, I didn't want to talk about teams. They didn't have a first round pick, but they were very close to being winners for me. Getting C.J. Allen and A.J. Hall, seeing rounds two and three were some amazing steals. I'll read off a couple middle ones. The Cowboys, the Packers, and the Browns. Eagles were also kind of a middling team as well. They seem that they more or less kind of lean towards the below average, but like not by much.
Starting point is 00:28:03 I actually really like their draft, but whatever. It's like 0.3. So who's at the bottom? Well, the Niners, as we had previously mentioned. And the Rams and the Texans. Hey look the losers that I said oh my gosh Which like wait wait you can literally just look at the Ty Simpson pick and that that's your reach that's your big reach right there that that that reach itself is going to skew your entire draft And you know they've only having five picks but yeah they only made one going out of the five that was max claire from ohio state and even still you could argue that in and of itself
Starting point is 00:28:41 but have been a tiny bit of a reach even though I personally liked him yeah um of course probably the biggest guy to go undrafted in this class, Diego Pavia, quarterback from Vanderbilt. Yeah, obviously he's short his shit. He's 5-9. He's got great talent. He's got a bit of a spitfire himself. But, you know, I always find it interesting when a guy like, take out, take out all the attitude shit, take out all the comments.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Like, a guy that was really damn good. college, especially at Vanderbilt, put Vanderbilt on the map. They were ranked damn near top 10 this year at one point. To take a team like Vanderbilt and put them on a national level like that and then also be second
Starting point is 00:29:33 in Heisman voting and not even get a sniff in the draft. It's very interesting to me. I know the reasons I do, but it still is like, wow, that's really interesting. Well, Oh, yeah. I mean, like you said, the reasons were his personality, his attitude. And look, ever since the great, you know, Johnny Mansell flame out, you'll notice that really talented quarterbacks were one of their weaknesses as their attitude. They started sliding, you know?
Starting point is 00:30:05 Yeah. Most notable, another notable one, even though he went round one was Josh Rosen. He was considered the most, he was considered the safest quarterback, right? That's what they said about him. he was safe. He was the pro ready one. And he ended up being the fourth quarterback off the board because people didn't like his attitude. And once again, I mean, maybe it's not necessarily the Johnny Mansell effect because he was like, I think, the 20-something pick.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Yeah. But that was the big knock on Mansell at the time. And I think ever since then, teams have been really iffy on drafting guys with attitude problems. And even if he was like, you know, the so-called Boy Scout, I'm sorry. If he was drafted, I think he would have been the shortest one to be drafted since like Doug Flutie. He's not even 5'10. Maybe he is in pads, but I think he's like what, 5-9 and 6-8s, 5-9 and 7th 8s. He's, and look, we've talked about this before. Height matters for a quarterback. And if you're going to be even shorter, then Kyler, Murray, and Bryce,
Starting point is 00:31:13 young. Honest to God, we have a problem here. Yeah. Another one I want to throw out. Who was it? Was it Jordan Tyson that had like, was about to be the most or a shot in NFL draft history that was then ruined by,
Starting point is 00:31:32 by spit coming out of his mouth because he was crying? Yeah, I think that might have been him. Yeah. Oh, awesome moment. But, hey. can't you can't you can't fake emotion that's all i can say yeah but you want to know who had the coldest draft entrance though that night rubin bain for those of you at home google rubin bain getting drafted this man is going to be a nightmare
Starting point is 00:32:04 he is going to be a literal nightmare for this league and people were talking about oh he didn't even get a haircut before the draft didn't even get a lineup of It's like that's how you know he's going to be good. This is a man. Like if you're a quarterback, this is what you're afraid of. This guy, he could be an all pro in the future. Like Ruben Bain was my number one edge rusher. I know some people are, oh, but R. Val Reese and David Bailey.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Now, Ruben Bain was always my number one. And just the aura behind him, man. That's like, that guy's got to be deadly in the league, I tell you. Did you see the press conference that, or the presser that Zion Young did? No, I didn't. He said, I'm looking forward to bring you Super Bowl back to Baltimore. Whatever it takes, I'll be the kicker.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I'm Justin Tucker and I do not approve this message. Saying this without his headphones in at all to listen to anything. But anything else from the draft.
Starting point is 00:33:15 No, not really. I kind of wish Tuck was here. because he was the one trying to sell me on Diego Pavia and I kept telling him, no. Well, we can finally see who was right. Wow, it's almost like he debated the draft guy, and the draft guy was right. I don't really like to shoot my own horn,
Starting point is 00:33:32 but come on, Tuck. We got to be better than that, buddy. You're the draft guy. Well, outside of actual draft storylines, Jaden Reed got a three-year, $50 million extension with the Packers. so let's let's do the math on that that's a that's a a v of oh wait wait you're asking me i was kind of hoping you would catch the alley up there oh sorry sorry that's got to be like what 17.5 million a year ish give or take fuck now i actually have to do math now i have to do math oh you
Starting point is 00:34:17 ask you asked you asked gross 16 16 16 6 okay Thoughts? I think he's fine, but once again, the Packers, even though they traded Don Tavian Wicks and they lost, yeah, they trade Donovan Wicks to the Eagles, and they lost Romeo Dobbs of the Patriots and Free Agency, there's still kind of a crowded room. I mean, Reed and Reed's fine, Watson's fine,
Starting point is 00:34:57 Golden's fine. Someone's got to be an alpha, and I guess they're hoping Reed is. I don't know. Yeah, I mean, I would assume they're probably going to wait a hot sec on Matthew Golden, if anything, just based off of this contract alone. I mean, how crowded is it, though? It's really not that crowded anymore, though. Like, they basically solved their issue with that. Like, what?
Starting point is 00:35:20 You're going to say that Sky Moore is going to be competing for wide receiver three with Watson Reed and Golden? Yeah, I don't. Once again, like that. Oh, Melon, Sabion Williams? Yeah. So I think the contract just seems a little interesting, but the idea is there. Yeah. I just, once again, just even though they literally lost two of their top five receivers,
Starting point is 00:35:52 you know, because they had that weird rotational room, I just, the fact that their receiver room is still this crowded is just like insane to me. Yeah. Yeah. All right. That's all the scheduled content that we have for. No breaks, no breaks. All gas.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Anything else off the top of your head that you wanted to hit on real quick? No, not really. This was, I can't, you all I'm just going to say it. And you all at home are going to roll your eyes at me, but I don't care. I can't wait for the next draft. Next year's draft is going to be loaded. Somehow, good Lord, please let you. Jeremiah Smith become a patriot.
Starting point is 00:36:40 I would love that so much. Actually, real quick, I meant to ask you this in terms of the Jets, since we did a first round grade on the Jets because they basically have three first round picks. But now that we're outside of the draft window, what would you grade the Jets draft now? Still, they were one of the winners. The Kenyan Sadiq pick, like I said, is getting stranger. The more I look back, but still get it like an A minus.
Starting point is 00:37:10 I'm hip with that. I'd probably lean more to an A. I'm standing strong on the on Kenyon Stique where he went. No, no, no, like I said, I mean, he's a good player. And I think he's a good weapon for them, but it was still 110% of luxury pick, you know? Yeah. Yeah. All right.
