On today's episode of the Fumble Ruski podcast, Vita Vaya, request a trade from the Buccaneers. An update on some contract holdings. The bills unveil some rather interest. They revealed a uniform. They revealed an alternate uniform. And yeah, all that more. This is the Fulmuriski podcast. How about you? Can't complain either. Good day. or a good weekend. I actually played in a golf tournament today for the local town fire and police department. Nice little scramble tournament. How'd you do?

It was rough. We finished two. I had a great time. We finished two under and we really probably could have finished like 10, 14 under. We left a lot of birdie pots on the table of sailors. I understand. Yeah. It wasn't like we're, that's the thing. It wasn't like we were getting out there and like trying to save par every other whole.

Like we were we were on in two or three and like looking at bird. It was, it was rough stuff. It was rough stuff. So you're not going on the tour anytime soon as what I'm here. No, no, no,

no, no. I'm sorry. I wasn't going to come nearly close to getting on tour anyways. That was a great time. Got a couple coosies, got a sleeve of balls, a lot of fucking teas.

Pretty nice. Yeah. Yeah Before we get into our Spiel I saw this one thing on social media today and it was that

it was basically the comparison of three contracts and so LeBron signed with the Sixers over the weekend, right? Something like that? Yeah, or last week. And

the combination of LeBron James contract and like somebody else is like some other big name. I can't remember who. That was like James Winston was when I saw. Maybe it was James. I forget. Maybe it was LeBron and James combined.

Still makes less than Justin Fields. Wow. But I saw LeBron is making the exact same amount as James Winston. Really? Accidentally. Yeah, two years eight mill. Hmm. Interesting. Yeah.

But Justin Fields makes $20 million to be a backup quarterback. Just think about that one. I mean, hey, I can't hate. I mean, you know, don't get money, man. This is good. Hell yeah. Vita Viz trying to get some money. He requested a trade from the Buccaneers.

After talks on a contract extension have stalled. according to his agent Colin Roberts. He was a hold in at the team's mandatory minicamp last month because of the contract. If you're not familiar with what a hold in is, it means they show up, but they don't practice. Different from a holdout where they just don't show up at all. Coach Todd Bowles at that time said he wasn't concerned at that time calling it part of the business. He's currently on the final year of a four-year-7. million dollar contract set to earn 17 mil this season but none of it is guaranteed keep that one in mind

also set to earn a per game roster bonus that is capped at one million dollars uh yeah so that's some interesting stuff uh and the buccaneers are already trying to figure out how they're going to assess their money because baker mayfield is also entering the final year of his contract um and they said last month that talks weren't anywhere close and that he would not engage in contract negotiations once training camp begins. Hmm. So the, the,

the Buccaneers have, a lot of stuff to think about here. Do you keep Baker Mayfield or do you keep Vita Vaya? Do we see Vita Vaya on the move? Do we see him get resigned or sign an extension in this case? Hmm. What, what's turning in that brand of years?

have you heard by any chance his preferred destination? I have not yet. Apparently he wants to go to either the Raiders or a California team. Interesting. Would that California team be the Los Angeles Rams by chance? That would be funny, but I just said like a... Just a California team. So here must be California or the Raiders.

Well, I mean, the Raiders were already trying to trade Max Cross. So you could try so you could do a deal where you swap the two plus some first rounders to the Raiders. But I mean, I feel like that since that whole ordeal with the Ravens like there's just been no there's been nothing about Max Grosby since then. So part of me it would also probably say no to that. But at the same time, what are you willing to give up for Bita Vaya? Yeah, and keep in mind, right? Essentially, if you trade for Vita Vaya, you're paying him twice. You know, once for like his actual, you know, once for like the actual cost to get him the building, then you have to pay him again contract wise.

Yeah. So that's going to hurt his value because, like, you know, a lot of players on like their last year usually don't have that much value, right? The sole reason of, like I said, you essentially have to pay twice. Yeah. I can agree on that. But the thing with Vita Vaya versus Baker-Mayfield is, if I'm, pretend I'm talking to the bucks. Yo, guys, walk with me here. I'm walking.

They're both very good players. But if you choose Vea over Baker, what's your backup plan? Because your team, even with a shitty quarterback, is too stacked to tank. You're not good enough to tank even in what could be a quarterback rich draft class in the big 27. So you're probably going to have to rely on another journeyman. And good luck catching lightning in a bottle twice without Dave Canales. So now what? Yeah.

Like literally, like what happens now? I'll tell you what happens. You stick with Baker come hell or high water. Because Baker is actually good. I mean, the only reason his stats took a bit of a dip last year. is because he was playing through an injury for you. You know, he does that. You know, and he does to do that a little too much we've seen.

Yeah, and, you know, we did that before in Cleveland, and they brought in Diddy Watson over him. So, yeah, so Baker, man, if that, if they choose to, like, get they over Baker, then, yeah, honestly, maybe the league just doesn't deserve Mr. Baker, Reagan Mayfield. I think, too, that you're, like, you, for what the Tampa Bay or who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are for this seat, like, just looking at the Buccaneers this season, right? Like, you're more likely to find Vita Vaya's replacement at pick 21 than you are finding Baker Mayfield's replacement, a good replacement. Yeah. I hate to say it, but it's true.

and you know, Vita Vaya, that is a damn good player, one of the best pure nose tackles in the league, probably the best pure nose tackle in the league. Yeah. And even more than that, bears what you've got to consider about contention, you know, the NFC South is ripe for taking, and who do you think is going to help you more?

a nose tackle or your starting quarterback. And I hate to say it, but like if you can get that final year off the books, then, you know, maybe that may that freeze up a good, like a different trade for a different player. Or grab one of the good players

that are still left in a free agency, you know? Yeah. And another thing, Vita Vaya's upset that like the final year is like no guaranteed money, right? Why did he sign? the contract then. This is where I don't understand.

This happens so much. The final year has zero dollars guaranteed. It's like maybe I don't know, you show a little foresight and say, huh, maybe I shouldn't sign this deal. If you're just going to bitch and moan about it, like later on down the line. I don't get it. Like, why are you signing these deals where you know the final year has no money guaranteed and you're doing that shocked Pikachu face meme.

I was like, what? I didn't expect this. Like my brother in Christ, you signed the contract. Yeah, like, where's his agent in all this? Yeah. I wouldn't know. Yeah. I think the other thing to think about, too, is like,

both Vita Vaya and Baker Mayfield are 31 years old. I'm more than likely to expect Baker Mayfield. I'm going to say elite because I'm just talking about the playing level of these two guys. I'm not here to debate if Baker Mayfield is elite or not. But I would expect you would get more elite play out of Baker Mayfield in the next consistent elite play out of Baker Mayfield for the next four years than you are Vita Vaya. Unfortunately, I think you're right. Yeah. And that's the thing is I would expect that the most that they would be willing to do for an extendo on Vita Vaya is two years.

That's probably the most that they would be willing to go. And for Baker, I would say four. Yeah. Yeah. No, I agree. And, um, I mean, I don't know, man. I just, if I'm Vita Valle, it's just, dude, play the final year for the love of God. Come on.

Yeah. You know, like, it's not that deep. Yeah. Anything else in regards to this? No, no. All right. Report came out today, Monday, that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones, that he is fully clear to participate in training camp from the Achilles

injury that had ended his season last year. And Colts report to Colts players report to training camp this week with the first official practice scheduled for Wednesday. He was on the Pad Maccfee show, said his plan is to be back in 11-on-11, full-team drills Wednesday when they start up. Still some work to do for the Colts

as they prepare for week one when they host the Ravens. so shit man i mean Danny dynes must have hit up fucking Jason tatum's doctor or uh um or the whatever the rehab people are

rehabilital re rehabitationalist uh yeah I guess no I'm shocked yeah no I am too mid the late season injury to at least midseason those things take forever we were expecting to just not see Daniel Jones at all this season

Yeah, and understandably so, but I guess he's been cleared, question mark. Well, this changes everything for the Colts, especially if he could catch lightning in a bottle like he did last year. Like, if he shows last year wasn't a fluke, then he should be the guy. And I think this news is disastrous for Anthony Richardson. Yeah, it's over, buddy. Pack it up. Your time and Indies over. Your career is going to the glue factory.

Yeah. I said this year if Janele Jones doesn't play, but now Daniel Jones is going to play. So Jones gets another shot to prove himself and why the Colts extended him. And for Anthony Richardson, yeah, it's over, buddy. Yeah.

Oh, it's over, all right. It is over. I mean, we're talking about a season from Daniel Jones last year, and he's 29 coming into this season, this next season. He was on pace to throw 4,000 yards. He was 4,000-plus years. yards. He was going to come damn close to 30 touchdown passes probably. Yeah, he probably

would have ended up with double digit interceptions. But we're looking at like a massive, we were looking at a massive career resurgence from Daniel Jones. And I mean, looking even during the off season when the off season first started up and the Colts gave that extension to Daniel Jones, the two year 88 million dollar extension. or contract for that matter. We thought it was a little lot. We kind of expected it, right? Like, hey, keep it around for the one year.

Yeah, you're going to be burning 44 mil for a guy that's not playing, which that's going to suck. But now you give them another go at it the next season. And now it's like, now the 44 mill is actually being put to good use, which is insane. So, I mean, like I said, they must have hit up Jason did him's doctor. and was like, all right,

what's the method here? What's the method that we can get them back here for week one? Unbelievable. Yeah. Like I said, I'm shocked. I remember hearing that. I'm like,

no, no way. Yeah. I'm sorry. No way. But they, way. That's what they said to me.

Jacoby Percette of all guys. He was able to rework his contract. That's going to pay him $15.5 million guaranteed this season a chance to make 21 mil in incentives. Didn't receive any more years on his deal. He's just

getting paid more. Well, yeah, I mean, but let's be real if you're the Cardinals. You're really playing for next season. You know, you're going to go shopping for the new quarterback. in the next year's draft. But if you're Bresset,

even though the Cardinals were a bad team, did he not play very well, given the situation? Yeah. I'm not even grading on the curve. He actually looked better than Kyler Murray. But through the virtue of numbers and the eye test alone,

he was the better man and he wanted to be paid like it. And honestly, I understand. Yeah. And he is every right to, get what he wants, although Jacoby Berset holding out is not a sentence that I thought I would ever have to report on this podcast, but, A, you know, at least that's solved and the Cardinals are ready to fulfill their dreams of something next year. I don't know what they're planning on doing,

took his first 11 on 11 reps with the first team. But Matt Lafleur wouldn't be willing, excuse me, Mike Lafleur isn't willing to commit to Berset starting week one right now

My opening thoughts, I don't mind the gray. I don't mind like the jersey, I guess. It's very plain. That's way too plain. I know the, I know the Bill's jerseys in general have like that stripe on the side and whatnot. But golly,

just give it some fucking life. And the helmets, like, oh, just disgusting. Like, I want, like, I want to compare it kind of, to the Detroit Lions

and what they have but the lions have it so much better and the blue that they have works so much better with the gray these are I would say an hour ago my opinion of this was definitely a lot nicer but the more I really look at it now

and authenticity of our city. Yet the lower bowl of the new stadium, each ticket will cost $8,000. Left chest charging Buffalo. Why is this? This doesn't even need to be a thing. Tone-on-tone striping. I'm not even going to read the tone-on-on-toning.

I actually think the governor of New York, Kathy Hochel, is from Buffalo to which I say, Governor Hockel, if you can hear this, veto this shit. We grew up in Chick- And everybody in the neighborhood was blue collar. So that's all I ever knew.

It is what makes the city this city. Everyone's blue collar, but it makes it ridiculous to go to a game. People wonder why we still live here. Their people are friendly. You know, they're willing to help you out. All right. I've seen it out, including forking over their tax dollars to fund a new stadium. How very nice.

a lot of pushback for a lot of those layoffs. Honestly, I feel like a lot of people are making this into a bigger deal than it is. They're saying, oh, ESPN doesn't understand their viewer base. They don't understand sport, culture. They don't understand whatever.

My counter is this. Are you aware of who's taking up the most money, right? Because I'm sure you've seen Stephen A. Smith and Pat McAfee, you know, putting out of statements like, oh, this is so messed up, man. This is, you know, guys like Ryan Clark, Cam Newton, Tom Pelliserro that the baseball guy you mentioned. Like they're getting done dirty. And it's like, well, it's almost like the two of you are taking up an obscene amount

of money. It's kind of like a salary cap in the NFL. You know, when you have one guy who's eating up most of it that leaves less for everyone else. And you don't get to pull the shocked face and they can't retain these people. And look, I don't really like Ryan Clark. And you can tell like off his take. he says things that he blatantly doesn't believe just for clicks.

And he's also one of the most dishonest debaters they have on the network where, you know, how whenever he gets backed into a corner, he just pulls out the whole, oh yeah, well, I played and you didn't, which translates to I'm losing a debate and you hurt my ego, so now I have to insult you. And Cam Newton, I wasn't fond of him being let go because Cam's actually funny. I like Cam. I do. He's very funny.

like I like watching him. I didn't like his hate for Drake May. But he's at least funny. Oh, Charles Davis getting let go. I love Charles Davis. What did he do? Tom Pelliserro. What did he do?

Because they're at least, you know, they at least give like real takes. And Charles Davis is a pretty good commentator also. You know, I said like I said, the only reason I don't care about Ryan Clarking fire is just because his whole reason there

for being there is just to rage bait and say things for clicks just to get people mad. Like he says things he doesn't. doesn't believe. Cam at least believes what he says and Cam Newton is also very funny. Pearl Davis, very knowledgeable, great commentator. Tom Pell Serra was like one of the top insiders along with Ian Rappaport and Adam Schaefter. So like, you know, and there are other people like this other woman who got let go or it's like, eh, whatever, Bart Scott and whatever. But yeah, so maybe if other people, you know, weren't taking up so much money, there'd be more

to go around. But what do I know? Yeah. I would, argue more that like Stephen A is taking up the most of it. Yeah. And that's back to me McAfee is making an uncommonly amount. But like how much money is

that actually going to Pat McAfee and how much of it is actually going to like his staff and like the people that work for Pat because I'm not going to assume things on here. But a part of me believes that the employees that work on the

Pat McAfee show are employees of the Pat Maccabee show and not necessarily O'oh, hold up, listen. What we got? What we got? Macafee makes 30 million a year with ongoing negotiations as we speak for a massive extension that could reach 60 to 65 mil annually.

Oh yeah, no, I saw that. So, B's taking up a fair bit, you know? Oh, yeah, no, I agree. It's a lot of salary. 20 to 21 mill a year. and when that goes up, oh boy, he's about to rake in money. Yeah. Because he's currently in the middle of a five-year contract.

But, yeah, but the whole thing's well over 100 mil. Yeah. And like, I would. Yeah. I don't know. part of me still thinks that not all that 60 mils actually go on a Maccfee

in terms of like production. And like, I'm pretty sure that's his money that he's given away. When he's having those college kids do the, what is it, the 30-yard field goal on college game day? Yeah.

I mean, that, what is it sometimes like 500,000? Yeah, that technically it is like chump change if you're Pat McAfee. but actually I'm going to let's let's look this up see if this could be looked up are the employees of the Pat McAfee show employees of ESPN oh here we go Pat McAfee response to those who say he is to blame for ESPN layoffs via Cleveland.com now we're getting somewhere. Wow, I sure can't wait to hear him spin us some nonsense.

I mean, look, I like, I like him and I think he's funny, but come on. Ah, damn, this is behind a paywall. Fuck, dude. All right. Hmm. Well, I guess side note, since this seems like that's going to be a harder thing to work through. did you see what JJ Watt said to him? No, I didn't.

He basically made a comment of like, Dan, bro, you take it, what are you taking up? 100 mil? Taking up 100 mil. Everyone get fired besides you or because of you or whatever. Let's see. What else? Yeah, no, it's great podcasting here,

just trying to fucking find. But still, our point still stands, is all I'm saying. All right. Here's a quote from pro football, an article from pro football talk, quoting Pat McAfee. The first time we licensed the show through ESPN, one of these happened. We got blamed. I feel like you don't fully understand budgets and where things are coming from, but I do appreciate that. This time we're getting blamed as well, which I guess I can understand.

But I mean, there's billions and billions of dollars in these companies. hard decisions have to get made. We don't like any of them, which is kind of, end quote, kind of what you were referring to. Like, he's putting on the, uh, the blind face or whatever to it.

Um, but part of me also thinks that's kind of leaning towards what he was saying, or what I was saying that like he's the one paying the, the guys that are on his show. I don't know. Like I said, I'm, um, I'm not,

going to make egregious statements or overarching statements unless I have actual proof of it. I'm just going to tell you why I feel. Any other names from these layoffs that are worth talking about?

Not really. There wasn't really a whole lot of football names outside of Cam, Ryan Clark, and you mentioned Charles Davis. Think of another name. We play for the Jets, linebacker.

Barron Davis? Yeah. Yeah. It's all Bart Scott got canned. Bart Scott. Baron Davis is the basketball player. Bart Scott is who I'm thinking of, which I'm pretty sure he has his own thing as well.

Same thing with Ryan Clark and Cam Newell. Yeah. Well, just I don't care, man. Like whatever. They'll land on their feet and go somewhere else. They'll whine on social media and it'll I'll be fine.

Yeah, everyone's going to just forget about it. Yeah. Other NFL news to talk about Diego Pavia got released. It's kind of funny. Yeah. Yeah. They didn't give him a chance. They didn't give him a chance to compete with Lamar.

94 which they're holding the JJ McCarthy year against him and I know I said it proved he's not quarterback proof but a 94 is just that's foul I'm surprised like Lamar is in a 99 then again he had a slightly injury-rilled season but like

I feel like you gotta have Lamar is a 99 all the time like Patrick Mahomes is another one I would probably be like he's got to be a 99 all the time but like at the same time like Lamar Jackson is also a 94

allegedly 94 what the hell are we doing guys well it depends on if the weeks are true or not they could change it just to screw with us Mahomes is also a 93 I could see that after the season he just said. And their thing is with Matt,

and they've been busted for doing this before, 2K for the NBA as well. They have been called out numerous times, and rightfully so, I might add, for basically making purposely bad ratings, overinflating some players, underpiping another one, like just to get people talking.

Because that's the point of these ratings that they want, to talk. Yeah. So, do you know what you will. Oh, yeah.

I'm starting to think some other guys that I would probably consider 99. I mean, Derek Henry, Jonathan Taylor, Bejohn, St. Patrick's. Wait,

Patrick Sir Tan's not a 99? He is not. Dude. Also, you could debate Michael Parsons. No, man. Yeah, Micah Parsons, another one that probably should be a 99.

Did you say Puka is a 99? He is not. The only receiver is got to be a 99. And, uh, it's JSA and Jamar Chase, the wide receivers there are 99. Yeah. Um, oh, that's, that's gross. That is gross. Any other names that you can think of that should be a 99?

I don't know. The Eagles tackle, Wayne Johnson isn't a 99 anymore. Hot take Joe Tooney should be a 99. I know he's just a guard, but he's a damn good one. He's arguably the best guard in the league. Yeah. I don't know, man.

I was listening to part of my take, and they were talking about the leak of, I think there was a leak of Stafford being a 99 overall. And they're like, I don't know they make him a 99 overall when he can't fucking run. oh my god obviously they should be apologizing after that shit obviously they're going to boost the passing stats and whatnot it was kind of just a funny
