I have a fun, I think, topic for today.
And I'm calling this becoming an expert business person
with everything you already know how to do.
And the reason I'm titling that is because I've been having long conversations
with Dr. Cashy, and that's kind of what he and I do on the weekends,
is just talk about life and business and all that kind of fun stuff.
And one of the things that became more and more apparent
and that continues to become more apparent to Leila and I
as our business continues to grow and as we grow,
is that a lot of times the advancing in business
doesn't have to do with anything new,
but has to do with remembering the basics.
And before you check out for a second,
you're like, oh, hold on, it's about the basics.
Like, I think that there's something really, really profound
in this message.
And it's that, like, for example, with sleeping more.
I made a piece of content about sleeping more,
and there was tons and tons and tons of positive feedback,
and I appreciate that.
But what's fascinating is that, like,
the people who are the most in shape
are the people who do the basics consistently, right?
That's what they do.
And so I think that what becoming an expert
or what becoming more and more advanced is,
is not necessarily learning, quote, advanced tactics
or advanced techniques,
but it's literally never not doing the basics,
never not doing the fundamentals.
And so if you were to think that you visited a business, right?
What's up, Amy?
You go to a business and you're like, wow, this sandwich shop is amazing, right?
Everyone, like, I came in.
They greeted me with a smile.
They said my name.
They remembered my order.
And then when, like, and everything was fresh and it was toasted and it was well wrapped
and it wasn't dripping.
You know what I mean?
And my bag wasn't soggy.
And all of these things, right?
None of these things are earth-shattering.
but what separates the best businesses from everyone else is that they just never forget to do that.
You go to a hotel and it's like what separates the five-star service from four-star, three-star, two-star.
It's not that they're doing anything different, right?
They're doing everything that they know they're supposed to do, except they just never don't do it.
And so I think that like, in some ways I feel like it's incredibly, A, humbling, but B, it's comforting to know that.
that you don't need to necessarily know new information, right?
Like, we have the information.
So one of the things that Jimlore's quote for me a lot is like,
we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught, right?
It's that like we don't, we always are looking for the new shiny tactic,
the new hook, the new, whatever.
But the thing that makes the business amazing or exceptional is that you consistently
and never forget to do the fundamentals.
Like you always post new ads.
You always work your leads adequately.
When someone comes in, the person is always energetic, always smiles,
always greets them by name, right?
Always gives them the pre-questionaire,
the pre-qualifying questionnaire,
shows them around the facility,
shows them before and after.
And when that happens every single time,
then you create memorable experiences
because we know how to do that.
We just don't do it because we don't do it consistently
because we're looking at the next shiny, whatever, right?
And so, like, if I could just give you that this one thing,
is that like the people who are advanced
just do the things that we all know we should do,
we just don't do them regularly.
Right. Like the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the quote, you know, the, the billionaire mornings or whatever, right? It's like, they just always go to sleep on time. They always wake up when they want to wake up. They always do their routine in the morning. They always work out, right? They always eat at the same time, whatever it is, right? They always do. It's, they always do it. And so, and sometimes, like, I feel like in business, like, people, we, you know, as entrepreneurs are looking for,
the advanced tactics, the expert things.
But I can tell you, having now spoken with some people who are much higher than we are,
like, there's nothing there.
There's no secret we don't know.
They just do it.
And it's almost become this joke.
Like the higher up we go and the higher up, I talk to people who are doing nine figures.
You know what I mean?
Multiple nine figures.
And we have these conversations.
It's almost like this, yeah, everyone wants that secret, right?
Yeah, it's like they just don't know that it's just like we just always do the basics.
And that's it.
That's it. And I feel like that's incredibly freeing because it gives us the permission to go and excel,
but what becomes difficult is actually doing things consistently. That's what's hard. And so if we
turn our attention to consistency and to process, which is the opposite of what most entrepreneurs
want to do because we like exciting stuff, we like new things, we don't like process, right? We like
variety. We don't like consistency. And so it's just, it's crazy because I feel like an entrepreneur,
what you do is like the thing that got you started, the thing that got you from zero to one
is literally the opposite of what takes you from one to infinity, right, from one to end, right?
And so it's like the rebel, the rebelliousness, that's starting something new, the breaking
the mold is what gets us to be the type of person to quit the job, to risk it all, to start
our own thing, right? But everything after that point is all about the things that we hate doing.
And that's why it's so hard is because all of the traits,
that make us who we are, are geared enough to get us to start.
And then everything after that is about unlearning all of the things that started us
into getting us to do the things that we need to do,
that our customers need us to do that the business needs us to do,
which is about consistency, right?
It's about boring shit, right?
And so it's how can we make sure that we never forget?
Mosy Nation, real quick, if you are a business owner that has a big old business
and wants to get to a much bigger business,
going to $50, $100 million plus, we would love to talk to you.
And if you like that, we would like to hear more about it, go to acquisition.com.
You can apply anywhere on the page and talk to one of our team and see if we can help you get there.
We don't need to be taught.
We need to remember what we need to already be doing.
We know what those things are.
We just aren't doing them.
And our staff isn't doing them on a consistent basis.
And so, like, if we were to take all of the energy that we're putting towards new and sexy
and cut it out of our brains and just say, like, how can we just,
do the things we already know how to do and do them every single time always I guarantee you that
your gym will grow by a lot right like a lot like we we see these we I'm sure some of you guys have
had you've experienced an amazing business right whether whether it was a hotel whether it was a
restaurant whether like whatever it was there's nothing that they did that was earth jack like
if you go to chick-fil-a the reason chick-fil-a is so amazing right is there's nothing that's really
like the sandwiches are good.
Don't get more wrong.
The sandwiches are good.
The sauces are good, but there's lots of other fast food places that have that stuff.
Why is Chick-fil-A better?
Why is Chick-fil-A the most profitable?
Like fast food chain, they have zero debt.
They're a billion-dollar-plus company.
How do they do that?
Right?
Because they never don't do the fundamentals.
They always smile.
They always greet you.
They're always excited.
They're always kind.
You know what I mean?
It's like it just happens every single time.
And that's the difference.
And you'd multiply that over thousands and thousands and
thousands of interactions, and that's how you get all these five-star reviews, all this word of mouth,
all this stuff, because every single day, the fundamentals are executed. And so that was my,
that was my message for today, is that becoming an expert businessperson, a lot of times
isn't about learning more things. It's about remembering to do the things that you already know
how to do and making sure that they get done every single day all the time. And that's both your
personal skills of the things that make you a better person in terms of like how you show up to
your team, how you show up as a leader, whatever things you need to do, get in the right
headspace so that you can operate and be your best version. But then also the same things
for them, for your team. Like, how can I get them in their best state so that they can execute
these things consistently? Because, like, you read the book, how to make friends and influence
people. And I remember every single time I read this book, every single time, it's the book that I've
read the most times out of every book that I have in the business world. And ironically, it's
not about business. It's about being a person, right? How to make friends and influence people,
don't carnymy. And the reason it's lasted this long, right, is that none of it.
It should be called the fundamentals of people, right?
Is that like, if you, I read it every time and I get to the end and I'm like,
I should read this every month.
Like, and I think that to myself.
I'm like, I should read this every month.
Why don't I read this every month?
I'm such an idiot.
I should be doing this, right?
And if you were to just execute every single thing in that book, you would be phenomenally
more successful than you are, myself included, right?
I'm not saying, we would all be phenomenally more successful than we are.
And the difficulty is just doing it, right?
It's just being consistent.
It's always remembering people's names, always smiling, never complain.
me. You know what I mean? Always asking questions, taking absolute responsibility. Like,
all of those things are in the book. Like, it's in the book. It's like in the
entrepreneur's starter back. It's like the person to bomb the starter back. And so, like, we don't
need new things, right? If, like, if everyone just did everything in that book, and that's it,
they wouldn't need to read any more months, right? You just need to do the things there, right?
Right in front of you that you already know you need to do. And I don't know, I think, I think
sometimes maybe give yourself a break on learning new things until you've actually executed the
things you already know how to do because there's literally no point in adding more information
when you aren't even doing the things that you know you should do. So lots of love guys and gals.
Hope you have an amazing day and I'll get you guys on the flip side, throw a like and a comment
before and I'll get you guys soon. Bye!
