Everyone, everybody, happy Friday.
Man, I was fired up this morning because one of my team brought something up,
and it just made me think, I was like, you know what?
And I went on this rant, and they're like, man, we should have reported that.
They're like, you're going to use that for your content today.
I was like, you know what?
I'm ending this call right now, and I'll go make the content.
So what to do when someone bashes you?
So inevitably, you will get bashed if you are good, right?
I like to always think to myself, and this is something that gives me peace, is that like, whether you are a believer or not, whatever.
But like, if you think of Jesus Christ as a good dude, right, or hopefully, you know, some of you as sacred, but like, good dude.
He was literally like stoned, mocked and crucified for being a good dude.
And so at the end of the day, you're always going to have people who are going to stand up against you.
And the question is not whether it's going to happen, but how you're going to respond, A, and then B, who are those people, right?
So for me, it's like, if I've got some, like, fig gurus and agencies or whatever who are, like, standing up against us, and I know that, like, based on, like, their experience, they're overpromising and they're not delivering what they say they're going to do, like, I'm cool with that.
Like, I hope to piss some people off because some of those stuff we say is pretty out there, right?
And so I had this, this is recently, just a funny story.
There's a guy who self-reclaimed fitness guru, and his wife signed up for our program,
and I found out, and so I was like, hey, listen, you know, you can't really, like, sign up for our stuff.
I didn't know that you guys were connected.
And anyways, I ended up recording the call.
And so I have his wife in tears on the phone crying about how their gym is going to close because they can't pay bills.
They're going to lose their house.
All sorts of stuff.
Right.
And so I was like, you know what?
What would Jesus do?
And I was like, well, you would be wise.
But I was like, you know what?
And the guy was like, listen, you're in a totally like different league than me.
Like we're just, you know, I just do this on the side just to pay some bills.
Like it's not the same.
And I was like, all right, man.
And his wife's like, please, please, like, I really need this.
And so I was like, sure, you guys can stay.
And so fast forward six months, you know, they execute joint legacy, right?
And then they start going out and bashing me, right?
And so, you know, at first you think, like, wow.
Like, you like, the nerve, right?
Especially when I got, like, literally full text conversations about them,
like, oh, my God, you see if you're a gym, like we can pay payroll,
broken me, right? We're so grateful, right? And then, like, greed kicks in, right? And so, like,
first person to blame is me, because I already kind of knew it when I said, okay, right? But,
you know, there's this, there's this balance point of, like, why do you do this to help people,
blah, blah, blah. And so that's all me, first off. But the other thing is, like, what do you do?
Right? And so I was telling my team this morning, I was like, for the rest of the year,
this guy is going to try and bash us because, like, we're in the spotlight.
And so the only thing you can do is try and gain, try and bask in reflected glory, right?
Like try and, like, catch your little droplets that sprays off the main thing.
And for you guys in your marketplace, a lot of times you're in that same situation.
You're getting all the attention because you're crushing, right?
Because you're blowing up right now because of all the stuff that you're doing with.
And so it's natural for other gyms.
There are people to try and posture against you.
Like Pepsi bashes Coke.
You know what I mean?
Coke is way bigger and has never acknowledged Pepsi.
But Pepsi, by brand, will put Coke on their advertisements to try and bash them.
Strategically, that's what you're supposed to do, right, until you're bigger and then you don't mention it.
Like, that's the game.
Apple bash PC until Apple got bigger than PC and then stop benching it.
That's the game, right?
And so if you get good at stuff, you can't get butt hurt by the fact that people are going to bash you.
It's just part of the game, right?
And so the only thing, I'll suddenly just my team, and then, and like at the end of the day,
it's kind of revert back to other guru, right?
I was like, he's going to put out all this concert for the next however long.
At the end of the day, we know his product is shit because he had to come to us to save his ass.
We already know that, right?
We already know that.
So we didn't know he's got nothing, right?
And so all he's going to do is overpromise and under-deliver, just like everyone else, right?
And so maybe he'll hustle his ass off and have to build.
super one-on-one, like, I'm going to call you every week relationship for coaching,
giving you wrong advice and really just becoming a therapist for you,
which is what most of the fitness industry coaching is anyways, right?
Because they don't have a product.
They don't have something to solve the problem.
Man, I'm going off today.
I'm sorry.
But he's going to work his whole year to get 15 people to pay him a thousand a month.
I was like, dogs, we signed up 25 people this week.
Who cares?
You know what I mean?
Like, we're so much bigger.
than everyone else.
And it's because we're focusing,
and I'm imploring you to do the same thing,
it's just focus on your customers.
Focus on solving their problems.
And the thing is,
is if you focus on them,
you don't have time to think about that stuff.
Hey, Mozanation, quick break,
just to let you know
that we've been starting to post on LinkedIn
and want to connect with you.
All right, so send me a connection request
and note letting me know
that you listen to the show
and I will accept it.
There's anyone you think
that we should be connected with,
tag them in one of my or laylist posts,
and I will give you all the love in the world.
All right,
So let's get back to the show.
You just don't.
Everyone else is thinking about you because you're stealing their lunch money, right?
Like all the gurus right now,
it's either they're copying us if they're smart
or they're bashing us if they're done, right?
Because if you're copying us, at least you're copying the thing that's working.
You're second because now you're copying the leader,
but at least the stuff that you're doing is producing a result
because we did the work to figure it out, right?
But if you're bashing us, you're just aligning yourself and just a lie.
You can't say our stuff doesn't work.
You can't say that we're killing gyms when I'm just like posting a video of every single gym that's tripled their EFT.
Right?
Like I made that video the other day just to like just say for all of, just for anyone who's curious, for the gym owners who are like just new to this group and are like, what is this all about?
I just wanted to post that there to be like, you're in good hands.
Like you're fine.
But I can understand how it's confusing because you get lots of voices and you don't know who to trust, right?
Because like I don't flex really hard about how to do.
bigger we are than everyone else. I don't flex our car. I don't flex our house. I don't flex
my bank account. I don't do that because like it's just not my thing. You know what I mean?
But like to give you an idea, like most of the guys who are bashing us are doing quarter million a
year. We do a quarter million in two days. You know what I mean? Like it's a rough,
it's size, it's scope here. You know what I mean? And so like that acquisition model doesn't
work. It's like, well then how are we out acquiring customers to do 20 to $1? It's like, well, then how are we out acquiring
customers the new 20 to 1, right? How are our customers bashing your customers? Like in a marketplace,
right? So anyways, just to wrap this up for anyone who's a gym owner, if you have trainers
who leave you or clients who leave you and then bash you, keep focusing on your customers,
keep over delivering on value, keep, just focus on solving their problems and everything else
will always take care of itself, right? Like, Jesus was focused on his mission. He was like,
I'm going to save the world. Like, that's what I'm going to do. He wasn't like,
man, pot's pilot, like, I'm coming after.
Like, he didn't say that because he didn't need to.
He's like, I'm God, right?
Or if you don't believe, then you're like, I'm a great dude.
Whatever, I want to get into that.
But, like, point is, is it like, if you're, if you're being good and you're impacting
a marketplace, it means you're making notice.
People will notice.
And invariably, if you think there are assholes in the marketplace, there are, do you think
there are liars in your marketplace?
Absolutely.
So then why would we be surprised that they would stand up and bash you?
Right? The only thing you should do, take care of your customers. And if you want, post social proof that's not specifically bashing. Like, I put that EFT thing up there just so that anyone who's unsure, like, just because I'm like, I get it. Some of you guys don't know. Like, just go watch the video. I'm like, watch 200 other gyms say they tripled their EFT. Went from 2000 month to 30,000. Right? Like, you know what I mean? Like, just let the proof talk. You know, someone's got three testimonials and they're all two years old.
maybe they're not the best choice, right?
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, someone's charging me for one-on-one coaching,
and they're talking to you about how they're going to leverage
and scale their business,
and yet their business isn't leveraged or scaled, right?
So anyways, guys, that's my Friday message to everyone is like,
don't worry if you're getting bashed.
It is normal if you're getting bashed
if you're doing good things and you're impacting the marketplace.
And the only thing to fight that emotionally is just go all in on your customers and continue to look at their problems and not your own
And when you solve their problems and don't think about yourself because all that really is is when you're like get upset about it
It's like you think about yourself your ego flares up. You're like how dare they? How dare you? Do you know who I am? You know what I mean? Like that's all that plays in your head like me. It's like whatever
You know what I mean like just focus on your customers
Focus on their problems and you can and then you'll forget about your own and then what do you know? You'll
outsell, you're out-provide, and you'll just keep growing and keep crushing it.
While everyone else is spending all their time trying to posture against you,
all you're doing is just going all in on your customers and crushing it.
So, anyways, guys, have an amazing day.
It's a little longer than normal, but I hope you haven't had an amazing week so far.
If you're a gym and you have not signed up for gym lunch, you should do that.
Unless you hate money, in which case, don't do that.
And if you guys could, we're sharing, like, cool little videos on Instagram and little sales
overcomes, stuff like that. I'm trying to build that up. It's embarrassing, but I kind of like
the everyday gaining, you know, 30, 40 people. It's kind of fun. It just kind of reminds me of
the struggle. So if you guys go there, it's at under, I'll tag it, but Alex or Mosy, if you
search it, it'll come up. Anyways, lots of love guys. Have an amazing day. Take you soon.
