now. No Alright, I'm gonna throw this out there. Glass cannon ski trip? I'm gonna stay in the lodge with the whole time. Me too. I don't ski. I'm with you. Okay, this is... Me too.

This was gonna be the next question. Race for the Galaxy. Oh, so much race for the Galaxy. And you know what will happen after that game? I've raced for the Galaxy. What? Both of my knees won't be blown out. And we'll have hot chocolate.

And there's very little risk of a traumatic brain injury. Exactly. I grew up in Colorado, and for the longest time, and the first question anyone asked me was like, do you ski? And no, I don't. And the reason I don't, I've told this story before, is my friend Clayton, when I was in second grade,

he fell off a ski lift and broke every bone like all the way up to like through his pelvis. And he missed a year of school. His parents, his dad would like drag him to school in a red rider wagon so we could all gawk at his like half body cast. And I was, I made a promise to myself, like I'm not gonna fucking ski if that's what happens. That's not what happens.

That's very rare. That's so rare. It's crazy. That's probably the only person that's what happens. That's not what happens. That's very rare. That is so rare. It's crazy. That's probably the only person that's ever happened. Really? Who? Who could just sit at the lodge? The only person who lived after falling off the table.

This is the fun side of the table. That's the thing. It's like, you know, you're eight years old. This is your first impression. And it was a pretty intense one. Yeah. Yeah. No, fuck that.

So you don't ski or snowboard. No. You don't. It's fine. My sister is a ski instructor. Ilya is a ski instructor. And you don't want to learn. No. You don't. It's fine. My sister is a ski instructor. She's a ski instructor. And you don't want to learn. No. She was also a runner up to Miss New Mexico and I'm not that either. Was her special talent skiing? No. She actually sang Green Day. She taught

people to ski. Everybody come outside. I'm going to show you my special talent. She sang Green Day. She said... Oh, that's amazing. No ski, no snowboard. I have a picture of you for a snowboard lifelong snowboard. Well, I have a lifelong lower back injury. So I'm kind of not allowed. I can do whatever I want, but. Have you ever done it? No. Sled it.

Do you like sledding? Not really. Sledding is fun. Tubing? I went sledding yesterday. Not really. No, OK. Do they let you go down the slopes on a sled?

No, it's frowned upon. They really hate that. Also not allowed. What was the point? You never, I imagine, you got all the hair to protect you. You don't wanna get out there and swish. All that soft pillowy hair. Every swish and swish.

Every time. You would never get hurt. You asked us about our childhood. You talked about poverty. I couldn't afford to ski. Oh my God. You didn't, you could rent a pair of skis and go try it out. You never went, never went once. No. No. Okay. No, I take it out. You never went, never went once. No.

No, okay. No, I take it back. I was out, I was doing a play. One of my plays was going to be in Aspen. And I was staying at the house of a man who had retired and then went back to be a ski instructor. And he found out that I had never been skiing. So he took me to the park, which was not,

did not have any hills and we did cross country skiing. Oh. That's a very different experience. I thought, having stood on my two feet for most of my life, that adding long planks of wood underneath my feet would make it as easy to stand up. No, I fell down constantly. Wow. That's not fun.

He was really embarrassed. It's not a fun activity. No. I don't recommend it to anybody. You've never been once? Oh, yeah. I love skiing. Oh, you just don't do it no more.

No, I'm too old now. I was actually talking recently about taking my kids skiing. And I could totally do green slopes. Be fine. But I'd have to then say good luck, as they increased in aptitude. Because I just don't want to do it anymore. I don't want to hurt myself for no reason.

Yeah, it's just really, it was. But I used to love it. I went and bought stuff and you say, I was talking to my wife about it. She was like, I didn't know you skied. Like how could you afford any of that stuff? And there was a used sporting goods store in my neighborhood and it was awesome. It was just like all used equipment. So I got used boots and a used set of skis and I used them for years. I actually had a bad injury once. Woo! The only time that I have been knocked clean out. Ooh.

Woke up, woke up in a ditch, like with my friend already over me, his skis already popped off. So scary. And he goes, you all right? And I'm like, yeah, I think so. And I'm like half buried in the snow and I like pull myself out and like everything

feels a little bit weird, a little bit sore. But like I don't feel like, you know, permanently injured or anything like that. I crawl back up to the slope because I was like wedged between the fence and the slope. Crawl back up to the slope. Guy comes down, are you all right? My buddy's like, I think he needs,

I think he needs help. And the guy's like, all right, I'll send up the whatever. So he skis down. A few minutes later, guy comes to bog and everything. Oh, the sled. He's like, I think he needs help. And the guy's like, all right, I'll send up the whatever. So he skis down, a few minutes later, guy comes toboggan and everything. Oh, the sled. He's like, are you all right? I'm just sitting there. I'm like, yeah, I think so.

It's just like my back hurts and my neck hurts. And he's like, stop moving immediately, straps me to the toboggan. It was the scariest thing ever because I got skied down the mountain with all you can see is the sky. Like, you can't even see the guy who's skiing you. You just feel gravity and just like,

whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, and you're like, if this guy makes like one little, like one little error, if he does what I did, I'll green off the side of the mountain. Like, death, like I'll die. And so anyway, yeah, they got me down there, put me in an ambulance, like I'll die. And so anyway, yeah, they got me down there, put me in an ambulance and I had four bruised ribs in my back because basically I fell, turned around,

was skidding on my ass and went into a fence pole in my back and I didn't remember any of it. I had come around a corner, I felt like I was losing my balance a little bit and then I just remember blacking out and feeling like the whole world was shaking violently. And then that was it. So I didn't remember, I apparently slid for multiple seconds backwards down the hill on my ass,

and I didn't know about it. Anyway. And then I was like, as soon as I got better, I was like, I'm ready to ski again. Yeah. So that didn't stop me. So yeah, wingspan. But at this age, I think it's best to fly.

Yeah, let's play games. I'll tell you that. I will ski with you. Okay. You guys can ski and we'll have fun. I love snowboarding. I've never skied. I've only snowboarded. We didn't have any money growing up, but my aunt and uncle gave me a snowboard for Christmas

one year and I was like, I love snowboarding. So we went to the hill by our house. I started going down, had a great time, sucked to have to walk back out. And so my parents never skied or anything or snowboarded. Our neighbor and their kid were like, we're going to take, you were going to go up to Sunday River. I was like, yeah, I brought my snowboard to the park. They were like, you can't take, that's a toy snowboard. You can't take it into the park. I was like, oh, well, I don't have money to rent a board. The parents of the kid made, they were like, we'll rent your board. We

didn't know either that you were carrying a piece of trash. And so I snowboarded. I was like, this is the greatest thing. I just fell down the mountain the entire time, but I was like, I didn't feel pain at the time. And so then I saved up my paper money for like nine months and bought a Burton. And then I would go every once in a while because it was like a little ski tow near our house. And then I didn't snowboard for like 20 years and then when I met my wife, we started dating, we started going to Lake Placid, we went to Whiteface Mountain, which is where they ski the face and we went and she skis and I just down the mountain.

But I love it. I can't, now I'd probably get really hurt, but I think I'm down to do it again. Yeah, you know, you had to like limp carry you around Los Angeles. You literally have like a herniated disc. Maybe take a break. Well, I think I'm all healed now. Time to ski. Time to ski. Because we want to teach the kids.

We want to get the kids, let them pick them pick. That's what I was saying. Like I don't want to prevent them from experiencing it because it's so phenomenal. I wouldn't have gotten, like my parents didn't ski either. The only reason I did is because I had a buddy who, in high school, who had a car, got a car. And so like, and he grew up skiing. So he would take me and then yeah, The only reason I did is because I had a buddy in high school who had a car, got a car.

And he grew up skiing. So he would take me. And then, yeah, it's the combination of like, I blew out my ACL at 21 or 22. And so that really kind of like fouled me up for a year. And then by that point, I moved to New York. And once I lived in New York City and didn't have a car, that was it. Like skiing was out for 15 years. Wasn't even like a consideration.

It's like a bicycle though. Like, once you've learned it, you can pick it up again. You can rent and it's like not a big deal. Snowboarding though, specifically, I feel like it's harder to start later in life. It's scarier. Something about being strapped to a single board. But I learned, I was eight maybe? Like I was skiing first and then at eight I was like, I want to snowboard.

So then I started snowboarding and I've snowboarded my entire life now. Never went back to skis. I probably could not ski if I got into skis. But my dad used to say like, it's three days of pain for a lifetime of fun. So if you wanna put up with the pain, you will get to a point where you're not gonna fall down.

That's not exactly what happened to Clayton. Well, Clayton had one really bad day. He had a bad year. What were the circumstances under which he fell from the ski? He's got to be doing something wrong. No, I don't know. I just know that it wouldn't have been possible if he hadn't gone skiing. If I had kids, I would definitely take them. And I would take, I have gone to amazing places. I do like, I love the terrain park.

I love hiking even further to like a bowl where you drop in like up at the top of the mountain. Oh yeah, that part's fun. I've done that. It's so cool. No skis. It's so amazing. I would, if I could snowboard for the rest of my life,

I would. And I don't have any injuries right now. I did really enjoy the PlayStation game SSX. Tricky? SSX Tricky? That's a great game. That's a great game. I love that game. PlayStation game SSX. Awesome. You check the snow conditions. Is it going to be a half day? Is it going to be a full day? You decide early. We come home. You guys, they got dinner ready, because you guys have been home cooking all day

We're renting an Airbnb You make a grocery run They have the game set up all ready to go and they already know how to play it because they've been playing it and then They'll teach us and we get home. We're tired and we got like icicles snot We're like, oh such a great day on them on the mountain like here's your hot cocoa They hand me my hot cocoa whiskey and I I'm like, this is the best life. Yeah. And then we all cheers. Speaking of which, you reminded me,

the other reason I shouldn't go on the slopes is when I was in high school and would return from these trips, I would always have that god damn sunburn and windburn on my face. My face would be all red under where the goggles were. I'd wear a balaclava. And I would just get mocked incessantly at school by the teachers as well.

What were they called? Joey Joey Windface? Yeah. Joey Joey Redface. Oh, wind fans. That little wind burn. Joey Joey Windface. You can see like tear streaks in the wind burn.

Yeah, exactly. So bad. That's why there's no mountains in Ireland, the RSGP. I was watching someone YouTube, and I saw this commercial for this like super hyper advanced ski goggles that do something in the light. I mean, yeah, building a world is, you know, it's just a daunting amount of work, but I'm really, really proud of it. I mean, yeah, Building World is, you know, it's just, just a daunting amount of work. Oh, yeah. And it's very cool that, because I like Norse Foundry style. Yeah, I'm super excited to see. I know like, there's a, I know like Ed Greenwood who designed like Forgotten Realms.

Oh, yeah. Oh. He did stuff to it, like tons of like huge names are involved. So I'm, I'm very excited to see it and like read the whole thing. But yeah. Very cool. Very cool. Yeah.

that seem to be rushing at the ship at an alarming speed. As these clouds near the boat that you're on, they resolve into the shape of a massive whale-like monster in the sky. It's over top of the ship? It's over the top of the ship and you realize this is the exact same creature that you were all just staring at below the black ice in your vision.

It is now there with icy blue eyes shining through the storm above like stars, staring at you and Sakawatchee says, The stars, they've come to punish us! And as he says that, the cloud monster's eyes become these javelins of light, which just like, FWOOM! Streak down towards the boat at an incredible speed and land on deck, TADDOOM! With two audible thuds. As you're standing there, Sakawatchi's still convulsing.

There are two creatures that land on the ship that look like this. Ooh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Naga. Naga. Yeah, I was about to say it's a Naga. Naga.

Two of these large creatures land on deck. Oh, forget that. At the same time, Allies arrive. An army of dragon riders. At the same time, this army of paladins riding dragons? This line up from the sky. There's a bunch of valkyries coming out of that.

This beast, this whale that you can barely make out in the dark storm clouds just like must breathe on you or something this massive gust of cold wind comes in and just like puts ice all across the deck everybody roll a fortitude save from this freezing wind oh fortitude save not my!
