Sure enough, there seems to be like a little trap door and inside looks like blueprints. All these strange rooms. And then you look further

The comedy show is I used to work at Caroline's and during prom season, they would bring like kids from their prom to Caroline's and they would have like comedians come like up-and-coming comedians would do their act at like midnight. It was brutal. You'd have to stay like middle of the week. Well, you know, I guess it'd be a Friday

but you'd have to stay later than you normally would for this prom show and these are New York teenagers so they're all wasted on drugs. Parents don't care. They're out making money and so that was what I meant when I say comedy show, nesting season. They're to the left of my house, or if you're facing it to the right, there are these three big pine, we'll call them pine trees. And ever since we moved in,

there's a pair of turtle doves that lives there. And you know, Christmas, I get excited. Two turtle doves. Two turtle doves. Yup. And they're a mated pair, if you've seen Home Alone 2, you know. Anyways, they built a nest recently and the mother is like sitting in the nest and we can see it. I could grab her and strangle her if I wanted to.

But I wouldn't do that. Think about it all the time. I could even walk to her and be like, I could fucking strangle her. She's so easy. She's right there. What's it like to be a god? I don't do that. Think about it all the time. I could even walk in and be like, I could fucking strangle you. So easy. She's right there. What's it like to be a god? I don't know. Is that what god thinks?

That's how god feels. She sits in the nest and we watch them build the nest. And so she's sitting, I don't know if she's laid eggs yet, but she's there 50% of the time when I look. But what's amazing is the husband, he's always around. And so he'd be like perched on my shed, just kind of watching or like on a fence. I think that guy's going to strangle my wife. I don't know who that guy is, but until he leaves, I'm going to have my eyes on him.

I know that look. And sometimes he's got like a little stick in his hand, like he's just waiting for me to leave so he can bring like a little more piece of the nest. But other times he's just kind of sitting watching, I guess for predators. Anyways, I kind of want to befriend them. Yeah. They seem like a happy couple.

I don't think you're supposed to mess with nature, but I want to like leave good sticks and maybe buy some worms and be like, Hey, who wants worms? Like strings and ribbons. Yeah, just like little, little trinkets. What do they like? What do they, what do like? What do they eat?

What do turtle doves like? They kind of look like cute pigeons. They're like adorable pigeons. They're doves. They're doves, yeah. What do they like? What do they like? Doves shit.

It's funny that you don't feel this way about the human couples in the neighborhood. The doves couples, you're like, I want to get to know them. It's interesting because pigeons, which people think notoriously are stupid because they nest in weird places, but really pigeons don't make nests. They're not like intuitively biologically set up to make nests because they nest in rock faces.

So that's why in the city- They're rock doves. Yeah. They nest on like awnings and like window sills and it's like, come on, stupid, like go in a tree. But they don't do that. They don't go in trees. Is that why people think pigeons are stupid?

I think so, because they're always everywhere where you don't think a bird should be. Would that be in wingspan parlance a platform nest? Mm. Mm. Uh. I wonder. Perhaps.

Maybe a cavity nest? I don't think it's a cavity nest. But do the doves make a nest nest? Or maybe they're a wild nest. It's a pretty shitty nest, to be honest. Like, I don't want to let them know that, but I've seen better nests. That's why you want to help them.

I think the one you're talking about is probably a platform. If it's in a tree and it's like a nest they sit in, that's a platform. It looks like a traditional one. You think nest is the first thing you think of. Oh, you know what the pigeon is? Probably a ground nest. Ground nest.

I think a ground nest is a legit... Or the star. In the ground. Or the star. It's a wild. It might be a wild nest. Last year I had Robin's nest near my three season room and I could see into the nest

and see the little different colored eggs. And on the way to like the strip mall where I live, there are bald eagles that are like mated and always come to the spot every year. And I can see like the tiny little birds when they hatch. But their nest, like a bald eagle's nest, is enormous. It's like half the tree is its nest. Don't fuck around, their eggs are like ostrich eggs.

I thought that's what you're gonna bring up. There's two famous bald eagles that there's a cam on them in the national parks. I think you know them, Skid. I've seen them, yeah. It's Shadow and Jackie. Oh, yeah. And they're like, you can watch a live stream

of just their nest. Somebody that, you know, they've set up a camera and they just had eaglets. And yeah, so I- What do they call them? Eaglets. Eaglets. It is really funny, because like the male

will bring these giant sticks back to the nest to like add to it. And he just keeps knocking the female in the head. Yeah. Like he's very bad at landing. It's like three stages. She's just like, she's so annoyed. Just like- Because he lands and then he like turns She's just like, she's so annoyed.

Because he lands, and then he like turns, and he just smacks her with a stick. Always lands on her face. Smacks her again. Just keeps happening, this is very funny. He's been bringing back like fish, and they're eagles. There's like giant fish to like feed the wife, and he'll like drop it on her.

She's like, thanks, fucking. Poof. Buffoon of an eagle husband. It's so funny. I'd like to befriend them too. Thanks fucking Buffoon of an eagle husband I'd like to be friend Camera you should set up like an out well We've got all these bird because I got my father-in-law into wingspan and they're like they play it every night So he got my wife for Christmas three different bird houses that have cameras. We just kept getting them in the mail I was like, all right

One of them's out there on the window is just now a squirrel feeder. And then the two other ones that have cameras, they're like, there's no instruction manual. We can't figure it out. I haven't taken enough time to look at it. But I'd like to set that up because one of them is made for birds to build a nest into.

And then you get that camera, but I'm like, how am I gonna charge the camera? How are you gonna make them, trick them into build a nest into. And then you get that camera. But I'm like, how am I going to charge the camera? How are you going to trick them into building a nest? I think it just looks inviting. It's kind of like, nest here. It's safe. It's closed. Of course it's worse.

What with your strangling thoughts and the suspicion you've aroused in the husband. I bet they're really going to want to build a nest in your box. I haven't strangled it. My trash cans get flipped four or five times a week and they just eat the trash, eat baby diapers, like whatever, they're horrible things. And so I have cinder blocks on top of my trash cans to avoid it. And there were two brothers that were dealing with it. And so they were figuring out how to knock them down. So I've done everything I can. Oh, the brothers are the raccoons. I thought you moved to different characters in the story. Two brothers. Yeah, no, there was two brothers.

There's two brothers that keep coming by. They were, I'd see them scurrying on my, on one of my security cameras. But anyways, last night my wife and I were sitting on the couch, and I just hear, t'kunk, I'm like, motherfucker. I go out there. And you got your handgun.

I go, I'm like, where's my gun? I go out there, and that motherfucker, and they're like the size of a pony. They're big. He's sitting there, and the trash can's knocked over. And I said, hey! Hey, you look at me! And he stood up.

I was like, hey, everything's cool. Be cool. I don't want trouble. I advanced towards him, and he took off. It's like, I'm not going to pick up trash tomorrow morning. It sucks. So I went out there with a flashlight. I'm like, I'm not gonna pick up trash tomorrow morning, it sucks. So I went out there with a flashlight,

I'm like, I'm here, don't you come out. Put it back up, more cinder blocks, pulled the other one inside the shed. The neighbors are like, you guys are right. I'm talking to the human. It's messed up because they're incredibly smart. They have basically have thumbs. And if they find a place that is like they get a reward from,

they will not leave it alone. We'll always come back. We'll bring like the Four Seasons to them. They're here every night. Is there a way you could dissuade them from thinking your trash was delicious? I think I have to kill them. I think I actually have to kill them.

You know what? Because they kept breaking into our house and what we did, we had to go to animal control. They broke into your house? Well, up in Massachusetts, they kept breaking into the attic. And they just kept coming back. And so we went to animal control. Animal control took them away.

They took them many, many miles away. And that was to farm upstate, I assume. Yeah. They took them away. I don just like, I do not, I don't want you to kill these raccoons because I love raccoons, but I empathize with the impulse because it is, it can get annoying. I guess I could call somebody.

It's either raccoons or bears or both on my block, my street, my neighborhood. I thought you just said you live in a strip mall. Well, the strip mall, I have to drive 20, 30 minutes too. That's where I see the bald eagles. Where you said, near the strip mall where I live. On the way in a strip mall. Well, the strip mall I have to drive 20, 30 minutes to. Anyway, on my street, there's like a bear or raccoons or both that get into everyone's trash and they've only knocked over mine once. And I think that they're turned off by my trash because of all my dog poop in there. Oh. That's my theory. Oh, interesting. Baby poop they love, though.

Baby poop they like. So maybe get a dog and have it poop in your trash. Or just borrow someone else's dog poop. Yeah, I could just be like, hey, everybody, put your Bob Tooth dog. You like donate your dog poop to my trash. Your Bob Tooth? What the hell's a Bob Tooth?

Bob Tooth? We got a note from Troy down the road. What the fuck is a Bob Tooth? He wants our dog's bob-tooth. One time, I put my trash out on the street, and if I don't pull the barrels in in time, sometimes they'll stay out there. And someone put their dog poop in a bag in my trash barrel, just like it was for everybody. City does that. I bet you would.

It's a certain type of person. I mean, it's a disgraceful thing. I knew it. I took it out. I'm sorry. I didn't even mean to. I mean, it's a disgraceful being. I took it out. I did just look him up. I knew immediately. I put my gloves on.

I took it out and I put it right in the middle of the street. So when they walked by again, they felt like an asshole. And I hope they did. I don't know. I wasn't there. I bet they thought you were the asshole. I mean, we all made some choices. Did you?

Was it you, Sydney? No. And I wouldn't do that. That's different. I had a frickin' coffee cup, and Joe got irate at me because we were walking down the street, and I put it in someone's recycling bin that was on the road, and Joe was like,

I can't believe you've done that. And I was like, it's a cup, and I'm not throwing it on their lawn, and I'm not throwing it on the sidewalk. And he was like, you get away with that as a woman, because as a man, if I walked up, he was like, there'd be a guy on the porch with a shotgun. Yeah, for real. Say, get off my lawn.

Oh, god. It was Texas. Get away from my cans! This was like the southern. To be fair, we were in Texas. We were in Dallas. I'm so used to New York City, though, where it's like, it's fine.

Like, you just, you put it. You're not really supposed to do that. It's not fine. You don't put your trash in someone else's trash can you trash cans and so you don't you're not supposed to like go into other people's trash and I guess I'm sure it feels very sensitive about waste waste management in the old studio this is Jersey studio I remember my family's in waste man so be careful what you say we had a recycling bin and we had a garbage bin and I I think it was grant

I don't want to name names, but I think it was grant put some non recycling in the recycling bin and Joe Exploded one simple rule Trash in the trash can the recycling the recycle but my favorite part of it you Justified it with a completely true thing. It's like one thing. It's not recyclable gets in the trash can, the recycling in the recycle can. But my favorite part of it, you justified it with a completely true thing where it's like, if one thing that's not recyclable gets in the stream, the whole load is ruined. That's true. I feel strongly about that. That's true.

Yeah. It's so funny. I just, if I had a can, like a beer can, right, I don't drink coffee. If I had a beer can, I was walking on the street, I would carry my can for a mile and a half, not throwing it into anybody's recycling bin, until I got to a public receptacle. You would do so well in Japan.

Yeah. You wouldn't just fire it into the woods? I would fire it. Maybe a bird would use it. I have a limit. Maybe a bird would use it for their nest. You never know. I can't find a place to put it.

I'm like, well, I tried. This is something I'm curious about. You're in the car, highway. Trees are on the side of you. You're not throwing this towards another vehicle. You have a banana peel or an apple corn. Is this a Marx Brothers movie? Or like Clementine.

This is a very interesting conversation. A biodegradable food. A biodegradable food. A bio degradable food. I've gotten into this with my wife before. So when hiking, you have an apple. I know this. You have a banana, right? I finish the apple, and I see how far I can get it in the woods.

Whoo! You know? Which you are. Banana peel. Love it. Yeah, I feel like that's a no. It's composting. And my wife is like, you cannot do that. And I'm like, you know, it feeds the bugs.

Nature. Return it to nature. And she's like, you do not bring any outside, even organic material into a hiking situation. What is it? Pack it in the I didn't think that it meant banana peels and apple cores. Those apple core has seeds, which would be an invasive species in some of those areas. Yeah. The bananas could give someone a tummy ache if they're not used to eating them.

Or they could slip. Or a person walking by could slip. Not to mention the crackles. A raccoon could slip. Right. A bear could go whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. You got a lollipop in your mouth and you're driving and the stick starts to disintegrate.

You throw it out the window, right? No. I love that we brought up like a debatable topic. I threw- You're holding a piece of garbage. I threw it throughout the window last week. It's melting in my mouth. How many lollipops do you eat in a day?

You ate three lollipops in one week. Kodak, why are you eating this many lollipops? And in your car, specifically. I had a Tootsie Pop with my son. We were coming back from hockey. Let's get some Tootsie Pops. I'm like, ugh. Put it in the cup holder and see.

It was very amazing. So anyway, I had to. It was great. We used Foundry VTT for that. And so it was my first real foray into the GMing side of Foundry and really getting it all set up. I did it for when we did the Pathfinder Society scenario last year for GenCon. I did it, but that was all like I just bought it on Foundry. It was all preset.

This I had to build from scratch, so I had to learn a lot more about it. And it was awesome. I mean, very intuitive, very easy tools to get up and running, and then like, you have all the walls and all the doors and all the lines, it's all done for you. It was really awesome. There's so much you can do on there,

and we're barely scratching the surface because of the needs of this show, but it's pretty amazing. So I'm glad that you're taking a dip in. Yeah, getting to know a little bit more about how it works. Yeah. Yeah, it's wonderful.

House of Leaves is a book that we love and it's like a story within a story. There's a manuscript that somebody's writing but then there's also this other story taking place. You flip back and forth. But one of the main like creepy first things that happens is this house

So you're measuring the room. So they measure the room. They're like, oh, okay, weird. That's these measure. Okay.

That's interesting. Then they measure like the outside of the house and they're like the inside of the house is bigger than the outside of the house. Just by like the inside of the house is bigger than the outside of the house. Just a couple inches. Just a few inches. And they're like, that's weird. Let's measure again.

Measure again. They bring in laser measurements, high tech measurements. And every time it says it's larger inside than outside. And can't figure it out. Can't figure it out. It's just like creepy, weird, house is weird. And then they discover a secret hallway, the five and a half minute hallway. There's all this weird stuff that goes on and basically they uncover this entirely pocket dimension,

like a portal. They just open a door and it opens into spaces that are not there on the outside, but they're there from if you come from the inside. A forever stairway going down. No more spoilers. Yeah, yeah, it's too late. Not even a spoiler.

And it's not based on House of Leaves, but it uses that same premise of like, in the trailer, you see them measuring, why is the house, why did it run the outside? I was like, oh, I remember Joe when he was telling me about House of Leaves. That was that one thing that stuck. So I was like, oh, I wonder, did they make a House of Leaves movie? Well, let's keep them flowing. Last week, you got to know these gatewalkers. They're at Riddlesund Manor a little bit more over a lovely gravy-filled dinner. Yeah. Gravy and wine dinner. And they- I love the the scene by the way. I love the, I mentioned it two weeks ago,

the clue-esque vibe to it, where it's like all these strangers kind of come together. Now we, we know each other, but like, I received a similar letter. Yeah, exactly. I received a similar letter and we come together and then the first thing is a dining scene Yeah, like and that's how you start to talk start to feel each other out get to know each other

I also live in Washington, you know It's funny cuz you have been out in the field exploring planets and different locales and they're very new to this They received a letter from Riddleson being like, hey, I heard you're a gatewalker. Come here. We're trying to figure this out. They don't know anything about a soil and Black Frost Whale and all these curses and thralls. They just know that they lost time.

They saw something in the gate, and they're here to try and figure out what that missing moment was all about. You're able to inform them with all this information that you have, but you're still just as clueless. It ends up leading to you guys trying to decide whether or not you should perhaps break into Riddleson's bedroom and see if he's hiding any secrets in there. Maybe Riddleson knows more that he's letting on. Or maybe he's just really stressed and really obsessed with this and is carefully guarding

how he meets out information to different groups of gate walkers. While you're trying to decide this, Buggles, who was the advocate for, no, we cannot break into Dr. Riddleson's private bedroom, that would be wrong. He goes invisible and breaks into the bedroom, not as Buggles, but as the cool icon.
