This week on the Glass Cannon Podcast.
Here it is.
We've been waiting for this moment!
Oh yeah, that's right!
This is it!
A challenge.
I offer you this last chance to fall on your own sword in your own cathedral and save your soul.
Otherwise, you will be smoted.
A taunt.
Let us fight in the shade, you false idol fool.
And a long-awaited meeting.
Mr. Arthas, I have come a very long way to see you, sir.
But coming here might be the last mistake you'll ever make.
Urathash enters the fray.
A booming laugh echoes throughout the chamber.
The battle for the cathedral rages on. No! Why, hello. Matthew here in last week's intro.
And thank you all for coming out and participating in our 24-25 hour Twitch marathon in support of Extra Life.
We were so grateful and honored and just humbled that you all joined us and supported such a cool and deserving cause.
I've said it before.
I'll say it again.
GCP fans equal awesome.
Okay, but now to new and exciting developments in the world of the GCP, namely PAX Unplugged.
So in just a few short days, we will all be down in the historic and storied and beautiful
city of Philadelphia for this year's Pax Unplugged.
And I just want to run through some of the things we'll be taking part in down there.
The first is obviously GCP Live. So on Friday night, that's November 17th,
from 7.30 to 8.30 p.m. in the Dragon Theater, you can join us for another edition of GCP Live.
I think Troy is cooking up something pretty twisted, judging from last week's episode.
But to sweeten the deal, we will have a special guest.
And that would be Mr. Eric Mona from Paizo, who will be playing a role to be specified later.
So you should definitely come out to that.
And then you should definitely come out with us afterwards and party all night long.
Or rather, you can party all night long and I'm just going to go to bed at an appointed bedtime.
Also, let's say you're coming to PAX.
Let's say you're a GCP fan.
Let's say you want to play some Pathfinder, obviously.
Let's say you want to play that Pathfinder with other GCP fans.
let's say you want to play that Pathfinder with other GCP fans.
Well, you're in luck, my friend, because there will be GCP pickup games or GC pickup games, as I think I'm supposed to say it.
Regardless, if you go to our Facebook or Twitter,
you will find a link to sign up for some slots to play some games with other GCP listeners.
There will be games from 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on
Sunday. So please go to that link, sign up, play some games, have fun. Also, a PAX chat room has
been set up on the GCP Discord server. So head over there to join the conversation. We're just
really all looking forward to getting down and hanging out, playing some games, and just having a blast with some GCP
fans. So, can't wait to see you there. But enough blather out of me, let's get to the actual episode
so we have something to talk about while we're down in Philadelphia. So, please enjoy episode 129. In all my years of role-playing,
which was a good amount as a kid,
and now going on six, seven years since I picked it up again,
I don't think I've ever sat on the precipice
of something that we're about to go into right now.
I am prone to exaggeration.
I'm prone to hyperbole.
I'm prone to saying, oh, there's going to be a TPK this week.
I'll see you next week.
And, you know, it never happens.
There is no doubt in my mind that the battlefield is going to be littered with bodies at the end of this.
Maybe some enemies. One would some enemies one would hope one would hope maybe some friends um you know maybe some acquaintances maybe some
yeah some acquaintances some people you might have complicated relationships with yeah uh you know i
said i i had to say to you guys all week like like, remember, if you die, make it work.
Don't get upset because it's hard.
You've been with these characters for a long time.
You have to prepare for the worst.
I will say for myself, I'm 100% ready for both of my characters to die.
Really?
Yes.
I am fully prepared.
That's good.
I have written them off already.
I mean, this encounter.
I've steeled my heart.
It takes meditation to really close in on that kind of –
Acceptance is the final step.
Well, it'll be interesting.
Now, I, on the other hand, I will say, have had a big reversal in the last week.
In what way?
had a big reversal in the last week.
In what way?
I felt very frustrated in the weeks heading up to this with Sir Will and the situation with lighting this forge and the summoning of an evil god and all that kind of stuff.
And where we're at now and with Umlo going down, I feel like, I mean, I was feeling like
I wouldn't mind.
If Sir Will went, he went he went like if a paladin
is going to go and you know fighting in the cathedral of evil is the way to go and if that
happens that's fine but with umlo going down i have this like renewed energy to continue will's
story because i think it could be awesome and now i'm i think i'm going to be very upset if you kill
him and i will sabotage the episode i'm just letting you know
thanks buddy glad you're on my team um yeah i mean it's it sucks too because we we can't properly
mourn umlo this happened uh you know before like there's just there's too much going on we can't
pretend to care about him now like we have we have we have disregarded his existence this entire
the entire time he's been on the show
well the characters care about him
do they?
we can assume they do maybe
but they don't treat him like they cared about him
Elmo had a rough go
it was a tragic life
and I feel horrible
he was always second fiddle
in every respect
he died in the most ignominious way possible.
Yeah, this is true.
Yeah, so...
Yeah.
Hopefully someone will be around at the end
to properly return him to Nargum's tomb or something.
I'm sure Urathash will do it if it's a TPC.
He seems like the type.
He's a religious man.
He's clearly religious.
Pay a little note to him.
We should scribble out a note right now.
If found, please return to Steelhand's tomb.
What does this mean?
Well, you know, there's just a lot going on here.
So I think it's only appropriate, especially with the ending of last week's episode.
Which, by the way, I have absolutely no idea what we're looking at here. appropriate, especially with the ending of last week's episode.
Which, by the way, I have absolutely no idea what we're looking at
here. I don't know
what to expect. I'm sure I told this last
episode. Certain death.
I'm still really confused. I don't know what's happening.
Yeah, I'm very confused.
And you have given me nothing to
work with. Nope.
What does this mean?
What does this mean? I don't understand.
Gristle crack tearing Ymir limb from limb.
Meanwhile out at the tent,
Lork just staring down at his limbs,
and Ymir smiling.
So imagine, if you will,
a seemingly endless desert landscape.
The sky above the horizon is a mix of reds, deep purples,
patches of blue just trying to burst out from behind the more dominant, hot colors.
We pan slowly to the left to reveal an enormous pyramid
breaking out of the otherwise barren landscape.
At first there's no reference point to truly understand its size,
but if you focus your eyes for a moment,
you can see two little dots slowly moving towards the base of the pyramid.
We zoom in through this light sandstorm
and see two figures, heavily covered to protect against the elements,
with scarves covering their faces to keep out the harsh winds blowing sand about.
The smaller of the two figures points to an entrance in the pyramid,
and the taller one nods and walks forward.
Inside the pyramid now, we see the smaller man cautiously enter into blackness.
He starts a fire with flint and steel, then lights two torches,
one for himself and one for his companion.
The smaller man removes his scarf to reveal this sort of bronze complexion.
Older man, maybe in his 40s or 50s, with patches of white streaks in his hair.
The other man pulls off his scarf and it's Brander.
Together, they move forward through cobweb-covered passageways
which eventually
lead to a large, open space
with a single
sarcophagus rising
from the center of the room.
The taller man, Brander, motions to the other one
and yells out in ancient Osirian.
So imagine just subtitles on the bottom of the screen.
It says, light the room.
Damn it.
I thought you were going to talk in ancient Osirian.
Come on, man.
I was very excited to hear this.
There you go.
Backwards falcon.
Man with a dragon's head.
Lion face man.
Spear.
The smaller one quickly rushes around the room to light the four braziers that surround this sarcophagus tomb, final resting place.
Oom, final resting place.
This illuminates the walls of the room as well,
which appear to be covered in unnaturally ornate hieroglyphics.
Brander walks up to the first wall and just rubs his hands over the pictographs.
It's an image of elves and humans locked in a seemingly endless battle.
Pictures of dwarves rising up from underground with herds of orcs and other horrible creatures on their heels.
He keeps passing over these images and stops at another great battle scene
with a lich raining down spells upon a shield that radiates with great magic.
The taller man says, Brander, still an Osirian,
Do you know of Tarb Fawn?
The small man shakes his head, no.
He styled himself as the whispering tyrant
a fitting name to be sure
all he wanted was immortality
and the power that comes from life everlasting
and he achieved it
sadly his reign came to an end
at the hands of small folk.
So much potential.
So much to learn from.
Brander keeps scanning, image after image,
as the smaller man just nervously skitters about the room.
He says, uh, you know,
Sir, we shouldn't linger.
They say the spirits within still lurk about.
Oh yes, I'm sure they do.
Brander moves on to a whole different wall
and sees much more explicit images.
A society of dwarves
firing
guns at the sky in the shadow of a volcano.
A teenage half-orc strangling a young human male to death.
What?
Whoa.
Another young human male being tortured by large, heavily bearded reavers below deck on a long ship.
And a beautiful young woman with a handsome young man
hidden away in an abandoned shack,
finger-banging like there's no tomorrow.
Oh, gosh.
Who could it be?
Lots of people do that.
I've drawn an image so you see.
Oh, God.
Sorry.
Put it away.
I've been taking classes.
They've really paid off.
I've been taking online classes.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
Like there's no tomorrow.
He's laughing.
I'm joking.
It's also kind of disturbing considering what we're about to walk into tonight.
Did Brander stop and be like, what the fuck is this?
They're really going at it.
It's like there's no tomorrow.
Get the children out of the tomb.
I don't want them to see this.
I've got ye eyes.
Skid, what is the hieroglyphic for finger banging?
I've always wondered that.
Fungi finger banging.
That's pretty much what you would expect.
Grant, I'll talk to you after the episode.
I love how it really captured the gravity of this moment, by the way.
This is great.
Hey, blame it on Troy.
The tall man, Brander, moves over toward the tomb.
Do you know of the Grave Knights? The man shakes his head no. Like so many undead, a Grave Knight most often arises spontaneously
thanks to some combination of the heinous actions he took in life and the terrible circumstances that resulted in his death.
Yet it would be a mistake to assume
that a Gravenight's individuality fades
only to be replaced by some caricature
of its strongest emotion, fear, or desire
like some common specter or ghoul.
For the deceased warlord's essence
and force of personality
maintain a strong sense of its mortal memories
and motivations.
You see, while mere undeath
can preserve life eternal,
what good is eternity
if you cannot guard yourself
against those who wish to steal your power?
He very deftly lifts open the tomb lid,
and there's a skeleton inside,
bandages half disintegrated with age,
fall from its body
as just the small movement of opening the lid and that little bit of wind comes in, disintegrates those bandages, half disintegrated with age, fall from its body as just the small movement of
opening the lid and that little bit of wind comes in, disintegrates those bandages.
The skeleton is clad in very ornate armor with a ruby red pendant hanging around its
neck.
Brander rubs his hand over the armor.
Grave knights are defined as much by their armor and demise
as they are by their actions and allegiances.
You see, the armor binds their spirits
and can sustain them on dark crusades that last for centuries,
if not millennia.
He rips the pendant off the neck of the skeleton
and puts it around his own neck,
then turns towards the smaller man.
Your wife is with child, is she not?
He nods.
Good, good.
The man looks very nervous now.
I believe even you may play a part in the grand story yet to unfold.
For now, though, I'm sorry to say your part in it is over, Pudir.
He reaches out a bony hand towards the man and sucks the
life essence straight from
him until nothing
remains but a pile of dust.
He then walks...
Holy shit!
He then walks back over to the next
wall, clutching
at the pendant on his neck
and runs his hands
over an image of a giant
atop a hill, surrounded
by warriors stabbing at him
with spears, wielding
an enormous
hammer.
Meanwhile, back at the invisible tent,
Lork sits there.
Must be like wondering, what the hell's going on?
Oh my god.
Sorry, I'm not giving you any time here.
Oh man.
Lork, you're sitting there wondering, are they okay?
Wish you could do something, I imagine.
Then you feel strange.
Roll a will save.
That was not, that was not it.
That was not it.
Crack die.
Will?
Uh-huh.
Fifteen.
You become paralyzed on the spot.
Frozen.
Like, you don't know what happened.
All of your limbs tighten up.
It just flops down.
Yeah, but you're, like, stiff.
Like, rigor mortis.
Oh, like sitting up?
Yeah, like, you know, whatever.
Maybe you were leaning on one of your elbows. Like when you have, like, a nightmare and you can't move, but, like rigor mortis. Oh, like sitting up? Yeah, like whatever. Maybe we're leaning on one of your elbows.
Like when you have a nightmare and you can't move, but you're awake.
Right, yeah.
Sleep paralysis.
Sleep paralysis.
I get that once in a while.
The worst.
Do you really?
I was just having an anxiety attack about it yesterday.
I haven't had it in a while.
We've talked about it before.
We have.
We have.
God, the worst.
It's terrible.
This is how Lork feels.
It's an awful feeling.
And in your head, you hear a voice.
Well, hello, Lork.
I feel like I've learned so much about you these past few weeks.
Let me ask you, how often do you hear voices in your head?
The voices of all your Black Arrow friends who died at your feet.
The voices of all those you yourself killed,
begging for the mercy you did not give.
These voices, of course, are memories etched into your subconscious, moments in time that echo over and over again in your mind.
Sadly, they probably never speak so directly to you as I am.
I considered speaking directly to you at Red Lake Fort, "'but you had your hands full with the general.
"'Luckily your friend Galabras was available to listen.
"'While you failed yet again to take down your enemy,
"'my old friend Galabras heard a voice in his head,
"'Drosier's voice, in fact.
Calling him to the dam to save all of your lives.
That's right, Lork.
You owe me your life.
I told Galabras that I would see him again.
And this oracle provided a perfect opportunity
to get back in his head, as it were.
Anyhow, I would love to stay and exchange more pleasantries,
but I have very important business to attend to.
Good luck, Lork the Iron Tusk.
I don't know how, looking at you in your feeble state this could ever happen,
but I have a feeling we will meet again someday.
A minute or so later, the paralysis ends.
You look up, and Ymir is gone.
Oh, my God. You look up And Ymir is gone Oh my god Lot to process
There were like betting pools
I think
That Pembroke was brander
Oh yeah
There were
Did you not see this?
Oh yeah
I don't think I did
I haven't moved In about four and a half minutes at all.
I'm just holding my breath.
Well, there is a lot happening.
There is a lot, and you're going to have to just listen back to that someday.
But now we've got a battle to do.
Yeah, no kidding.
In the minutes before Earthash entered the room with the stone giants and the cave bear,
I obviously said you guys could do some healing.
And Farazza has a wand.
So you were just wanding like crazy.
A lot of consensual wanding.
A lot of consensual wanding.
I forgot that one.
That's a good one.
And by the way, half of the group doesn't know who Farazza is.
Farazza or Farazza?
Farazza. Farazza. Farazza who Faraz is. Faraz or Faraz? Faraz.
Faraz.
Faraz.
Faraz.
Faraz Alcid.
How is it spelled?
F-A-I-R-A-Z-A.
Okay.
Faraz.
Faraz.
Faraz.
She probably doesn't have time to introduce.
Pembroke knows her.
Sure.
And maybe she tries to explain where she's been.
She's been following them all this time trying to figure out where they were. And they kept going invisible. She's been following them all this time, trying to figure out where they were.
And then they kept going invisible.
She's been watching.
That damn floating disc.
Watching and just looking at them and seeing if they were worthy companions, perhaps.
Well, here she is.
And she's here to do some wanding.
We took care of all this off air.
Aram ended up only burning one of his cure moderates.
So he saw his one left.
One left for the day.
Which isn't great, but you've given him
the wand, so he's going to do his best
to try and help you guys out.
I mean, we used a ton of charges
in that time before.
There are nine charges left on a 50 charge
wand. But I think in that
three or four minutes, whatever,
before Earth-Ash came in, you were able to get everybody pretty much back up to full.
Yes, Sir Will's pretty close.
Lexington is full.
Baron is getting there.
Baron's really upset he's at 109 out of 110.
He would be.
It's that one point.
Just use that last cure moderate.
I mean, come on.
Just use it, Baron.
I'm surprised he didn't ask for it.
Can someone channel?
Hey, I'm located.
Oh.
Oh, no. Too soon, dude. Rub his belly,. Can someone channel... Oh.
Too soon, dude. Rub his belly, you get a channel.
Oh, no.
Jesus Christ.
That's awful.
Oh, we're in poor taste.
So in that time, too,
Della is going to draw her two level one pearls of power.
Ah.
And now that we've looked up the rules on this,
you can enact it,
and it's as if the spell is prepared again.
So I don't think there's any,
I don't see any rules saying you have to do it in combat.
So Della is going to enact her three pearls of power.
Okay, it's not a standard action
to use it and cast the spell.
It is a standard action to use it,
and then it would be another standard action
to cast the spell.
I see, but by using it, you just re-remember the spell. Exactly, a standard action to use it, and then it would be another standard action to cast the spell. I see.
But by using it, you just re-remember the spell.
Exactly, yeah.
So once per day on command, the Pearl Power enables the Possessor to recall any one spell that she had prepared and then cast.
The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast.
That works for me.
That's great.
Very smart.
Isn't part of this, I mean, I guess you know you're going to combat, but part of the strength of it is being able to recall a spell as needed as situations arise, right?
Right, right.
But then in that moment you would have to burn the two standards.
Right.
So now you're just recalling.
And you'd have to draw it and drop it.
There's a whole rigmarole.
So you're just going to do the best with what you know so far.
I mean presumably we're going to have to get ourselves out of here somehow. I've already written
your eulogy.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is
it. This is it. Roll
for initiative. Roll for initiative!
Oh man, I hope we get a
good one for Sir Will this week. Come on,
buddy. Don't get mad when you don't.
Alright, I'm middle of the range.
Middle of the range. Sorry.
Sorry. King of the road.
All right.
Let's see what we got here.
Let's start with our newest friend, Feyraza.
Shit, hold on.
I knew you weren't ready.
I was reading.
I was reading out pearls of power.
Troy loves catching them out.
13.
13 for Feyraza.
All right, Nestor Coyne. 28. 13. 13 for Feyroza. All right.
Nestor Coyne.
28.
28.
It's 14 for
Sir Will if you
wouldn't just toss
them just above
Feyroza there.
Okay.
Rude.
Baron.
30.
As always.
That's a
90-17?
90-17.
All I do is
17, 18, 19.
Del Del?
It really is. Except for that one I shot. In that one episode I All I'll do is 17, 18, 19. Del Del? It really is.
Except for that one I shot.
In that one episode, I did all misfires.
Yeah, that's true.
We got a 16 for Della.
And what about Pembroke?
Pembroke is six.
Six for Pembroke.
All right.
Let me just repopulate this with all my little friends.
This is exciting.
This is exciting.
We're going to have fun.
Guys, I think we're going to have a good time
Let me get a rob in there
Natural two
Okay
Alright, how's everybody feeling?
Great
You see where the battlefield is
You see that
Urathash
The cave bear
And the two stone giants
are a good 17 football fields away.
Those stone giants have two big heavy bags
with them as well, if you remember.
Let's do this.
Now remember, they are very far away
and there's all this,
well, actually, you guys are up on the dais,
so you do have, You're on higher ground.
That is the one bonus that you have.
Ladies and gentlemen,
round one of what could very well be
the three-part book one, book three finale.
Baron Berenson.
Baron's going to do an exciting gambit
on his first turn,
which is pull out the giant Spain crossbow
and load it.
Oh!
All right.
Coin!
So Nestor
points at Urthas.
Here it is. We've been waiting for this
moment!
This is it! I can't believe I didn't even think of that.
He's calling a shot. Mr. Urthas! I have come a very long way to see you, sir.
But coming here might be the last mistake you'll ever make.
And he draws, quick draws his bow, studies target, deadly aim, et cetera, multi-shot,
and takes a shot.
That is a 26.
26. He is a 26. 26.
He is flat-footed, right?
Flat-footed?
Yep.
And you're not out of a range increment there, right?
That's my second range increment.
Okay, so you already calculated that.
26 flat-footed is a miss.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
This guy is a beast.
Oh, no.
And natural 20 on the second round.
Battle hit.
Oh, come on.
That confirmed.
What?
That confirmed.
That's confirmed.
No.
Damn it.
All right.
I really wanted that fan critical.
Okay.
So.
Come on.
Explode them.
20 points of damage. 20 points of damage.
20 points of damage.
Hits Uratash.
It is the stone giant's turn.
All right.
Stone giant's pretty far away.
They are going to double move with all haste to try and get some better positioning closer to you guys.
They will move straight up the aisle.
Here comes the bride.
Sorry, Grant.
I was counting.
That's very funny.
Oh, boy. All right. It is Della's turn. Sorry, Grant, I was counting. That's very funny.
Oh, boy.
All right, it is Della's turn.
Only got a few left.
Make them count.
Fan favorite.
Della is going to use the wand,
draw the wand of Cat's Grace and cast it on herself.
Boom, little Cat's Grace.
And then she'll drop the wand
because that's the end of it.
Okay.
Oh, that was it.
We've had that wand for a long time.
Yep.
I believe that was... Was it...
Melira's wand?
Is that what it was?
Wow.
That's a throwback.
Wow, are you kidding me?
I might be wrong, but I feel like that's where we got it.
That is...
God, I hated her so much.
She's the worst.
Now I'm angry.
The worst.
I'll give you somebody to hate.
You?
I already do.
Sir Will.
I didn't mean Sir Will.
I meant her at that.
Then Sir Will's turn.
Then I hate him.
Wait, is Sir Will's turn?
Yeah, Sir...
Sir Will.
I hate him.
I just hate him.
Okay, Sir Will is going to...
He's going to open up his visor
So his face can be seen and his voice can be heard
Standard action
Okay, I'll wait for next round
And he's going to say
Echoing off the cathedral walls
I enjoyed your speech, Urathash
You should know that I've come to meet you
I'm not to meet you.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with Iomedae and her eighth act,
but she convinced the Grave Knight, known as the Black Prince,
to throw himself upon his sword as punishment for his evil.
This righteous suicide redeemed the undead knight and allowed him to be judged in the halls of Aradin.
I offer you this last chance to fall on your own sword in your own cathedral and save your soul.
Otherwise, you will be smoteen by the light of the sword.
I await your answer.
Who's going to hold?
A booming laugh echoes throughout the chamber.
And he just stares at you.
I really thought that would work.
All right, then I will take my action immediately.
I actually think a story would get better.
I'm sorry, you took three turns with that speech. That was at least 18 seconds. Good I will take my action immediately. I actually think a story would get better. I'm sorry.
You took three turns with that speech.
That was at least 18 seconds.
Good role playing, though.
Bottlecap.
Yeah!
That's what it was for.
All right.
Awesome.
And I loved the grave knight thing.
I can't believe you brought up grave knights.
I know.
I know.
It just happened to be a grave knight.
I know.
I know exactly what I'm doing.
So seeing Orathash laugh at him, Sir Will is going to begin to descend from the altar to go face to face with this evil.
So double move to the outside.
Outside rim, trying to start his way down.
It's going to be a long way down.
Double move to the outside.
That's fair.
All right, so Sir Will, you're just going to make your way down there.
Yeah, I'm going to start.
It's going to take a while.
See you in a few rounds.
I can't do anything from up here.
Listen, I feel you, bro.
You don't have to fly.
You've got a magical wolf.
Do the best you can.
I'm not much of a ranged character.
Feyraza.
Feyraza's going to turn to Nestor and say,
My longbow friend, how would you like a better vantage point?
And she's going to cast Spider Climb on him.
Oh, interesting.
Spider Climb.
Wow.
Okay.
Whoa, that is very cool.
Up to the statue.
And he can still use both his hands to shoot.
He takes no negatives to do anything.
You've done your homework, Matthew.
It is
Uratash's turn.
And then Farazza's going to move back.
And then Farazza
will run.
What's Farin doing, by the way?
Oh, I forgot about her.
She's the new Keeper of the Force. She got promoted.
She'll be attacking you soon, don't worry.
Alright.
Uratash ambles forward of the Force. Keeper of the Force. Yeah, promoted. Should be attacking you soon, don't worry. Okay. All right. Earthash ambles forward past the bear.
Earthash just stands forward, raises his hammer to the air.
Oh, no.
No, no, no.
Says a prayer.
No.
Minderhall glows with an energy that you've seen Baron glow with recently.
Enacting a judgment.
That's right, he's an Inquisitor.
Inquisitor!
Oh, you must be so stoked to play this guy.
We have to kill him so soon.
Oh my god, it's the role Troy was born to play.
He really is. Evil Inquisitor.
That is the best character for him.
And he reaches out and says,
Hold to Della.
Della, roll a will save.
And you are sure the range on that.
100 feet plus 10 feet per level.
Oh, no.
And you're still in that range?
Oh, yeah.
Wow.
18.
You're okay. Oh, thank God.
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
The whole person flies by you.
But meanwhile...
Flies by you.
He just has...
Little sparkles.
Little reflexes.
And, yes, he has enacted a judgment.
What judgment?
Find out on Cannon Fodder.
And it is the bear's turn. There's not going to be a Cannon Fodder. And it is the bear's turn.
There's not going to be a cannon fodder.
We're never playing this again.
All right.
It is the cave bear's turn.
Cave bear's got, can just, it's just going to double move and start coming around towards the south.
Okay.
The opposite side of where Sir Will is.
Excellent. Yep, Bear just comes around
and actually gets to the front pew right in front
of the stone giants and flanks off towards
the left, which would be the south,
technically. And it is Pembroke's
turn.
Is Pembroke up?
Yeah, he would have been up on the
dais with everybody. Okay, so Pembroke
is going
to
cast Mirror Image on himself.
Ah, Mirror Image, yes.
And so, boom!
God fucking...
So three images. Three images.
Okay. The minimum possible images
of mirrored
images of Pembroke appear around
him. Let's put three
And the old
Nothing's worse than dice
So there's four Pembrokes
Yes
Altogether
Look and I put four Pembrokes there
It's like the old
Oh wow yeah
It's so confusing
That's cool
So it's like
Four card Monty
To try to
Where'd the ball go
Four card Monty
To the death
To the death
The highest stakes four card money.
To the pain.
Aram, knowing his role in this situation, even though he is completely effed in the brain by trying to figure out what does this mean.
His brother's dead, but he's been with his brother for the past few weeks.
But he knows his role in this battle and is able to steal himself.
Realizes that no one's hurt and just stands back towards Farron and looks up
at Farron, and Farron
just doesn't know what to do. But she does
not seem like she is against
you. Yeah. But if she's not
against you, you don't
know. But she will stand
resolute for the moment. Aram
desperately convinces her to join our cause.
Please, please join our cause. Do anything
you can. Help us.
Yeah, there you go.
I've changed his voice over and over again.
He got a little older there.
Help us, please.
I'm very tired.
They cast an old spell on me.
I have not had water in days.
I was at a bachelorette party last night.
So much yelling, gentlemen.
So dehydrated.
Yelling for so many shots.
Round two, Baron.
Baron's going to reach into, they're still out of range, the first range increment of his giant span crossbow.
So he's going to reach into his old bag of poche.
Bag of poche, sure.
And he's going to pull out the medium spider venom.
You gave him over 150.
No, I'm kidding.
I do have that, though.
I believe you.
I do, too.
I'm not going to do it.
That's a fun call.
I was actually going to bring it up.
I was actually going to say, you know what?
You should bring out the spider poison.
That would be so cool.
I mean, it's...
I forgot to mention it, but...
It's going to be my last chance to use it. I'm going to swig
on that old potion
of protection from evil.
Assuming the last one's over.
That was my last spell of the day.
Baron has loaded his crossbow.
Giant's Bane crossbow has taken
a potion of protection from evil.
You know at least Earth Ash.
Probably evil.
Nestor, you're up.
Nestor is going to up. Spider-climbing Nestor.
All right, Nestor is going to dash back towards sensing this new magical power within him.
He's going to dash back to the statue and just use all of his movement to try to get back and get up as high on it as he can.
So Nestor starts climbing the statue of Minderhall.
Like a spider.
Yeah.
Spitting in the face of Earthash.
Nice.
That's just, you know, very, very rude.
I don't like him.
I don't like him.
Very, very rude.
Stone Giants turn.
They are still very, very far away.
I don't think that they are within their range.
Can you guys tell me what that says there?
180. Really? 180.
Really? Yeah.
You can't go over the pews, can you?
That would be difficult terrain. I figured she's talking about throwing.
Yeah, they're throwing.
And their rock throwing is
180 feet.
Oh my god!
I forgot to mention Del is 5 foot 7.
I'm kidding.
Those big bags they have, full of boulders.
Boom!
They drop them down and start chucking rocks.
We're going to do two rocks at Della.
It's going to be hard to hit, but man, if it does, it's going to hurt.
First one throws two rocks at Della.
First attack, 11 misses.
Second attack, 10 misses. Second attack, 10 misses.
Okay.
The next guy also, I mean, Dell is the only one.
Wait, who's right next to Dell's right?
Is that Barron?
Yeah, Barron.
That is correct.
All right, two rocks at Barron.
Miss.
And miss.
Okay.
So not bad.
Realizing that they're too far away.
And they're taking no penalties on that throw.
So the first range increment is 180 feet.
180 feet for rock throwing.
That is insanity.
And they have point blank shot and precise shot and all this shit.
So they're pretty good.
That's cool.
And so realizing they're thinking maybe they're too far away.
But point blank shot can't possibly be on at 180 feet.
No, it's not.
No, no, no, no, no.
Not until, like, they get within 30 feet.
But I'm saying that, like, they're built for ranged battle.
But their hit isn't great.
They're more like if they get up in melee, they start slamming.
It gets ugly.
Realizing that maybe they're just too far away.
Question.
Yes.
How are they armed?
Do they have great clubs?
Great clubs.
And does Orthash have a great club?
No, Orthash has a hammer.
That's right.
That's right.
You said that.
But it's like a great hammer, right?
Is it a two-handed hammer?
It's a pretty great hammer.
Yes.
Two-handed hammer.
It's not a war hammer.
So, yeah.
Well.
It's two-handed.
You're very far away.
It's going to take some time for you to see.
It can be used as a two-handed weapon, but he can pull a hand off and cast spells with
the other hand.
But it doesn't have to be used as a two-handed weapon, but he can pull a hand off and cast spells with the other hand. But it doesn't have to be used as a two-handed weapon?
No.
Okay.
Any other questions?
No.
I just want to know what I see.
How many hands does he have?
Three.
Fingers?
Toes?
I've got to count my stone giants.
In the meantime, while I'm doing that, Della.
Farazza has the eagle eye spectacles.
Okay, Della is going to...
Swift action keen and shocking burst the scimitar.
There we go.
And... Only 180 feet to go.
She's going to start moving down towards the stairs.
All right, so Della's...
Where Sir Will is or the other way?
Other way.
Oh, no!
We are using the space!
Really explore the space!
Wow, so this is crazy.
You've got Urthash at the back, still closest to the entrance.
At the end of the pew is the cave giant.
The two giants have now split in two directions.
One is going towards Sir Will.
One is going towards Della!
They took two attacks, so they can only go five foot step.
Right.
Because they took those two attacks.
But you know what their intention is.
And it is, Sir Will, you're up.
Sir Willamette, he's going to keep making his way towards this evil.
He really wants to bring the fight to these guys,
and he wants to be the focus of their attacks,
especially things like the stone giants, the cave bear, so that the ranged characters can do their thing.
But he's also not ready to commit suicide.
So he's just going to start heading there, but he's not going to go at a full four times run.
He's just going to double move in that direction.
Okay.
Which is still, I mean, he's still multiple rounds away if he goes at that speed.
But if they keep closing on him, it'll close the gap faster.
Sure.
Okay.
So he's just taking his time, kind of pacing himself to see how much danger he wants to put himself in.
Feyraza.
Feyraza is going to wild shape into an eagle and take off into the air.
Wow.
See ya.
Okay.
We've seen this before.
See ya.
See ya.
That was a fox.
All right. It's Earthash's turn.
Earthash moves his full complement of movement.
Still with his judgment active.
What does old Fasci want to do this time?
Still very, very far away from you guys.
Question.
Yes.
Does an Inquisitor's judgment
last longer as they get to higher levels?
No, the judgment always lasts a battle.
One battle. It lasts the whole
battle. One good battle. But you get more
judgments per day. Got it.
Or not the older, but the... And what does it cost
to switch them? Is it a swift action?
Yeah, to switch these things.
Alright, so he gets up to right behind
the other two stone giants,
and he says some sort of prayer to Minderhall and touches his war hammer,
and it bursts alive with flame.
Whoa.
It's like he inscribes a rune upon it and casts Flames of the Faithful.
Oh, badass.
And it is the bear's turn.
He's a faithful dude. This bear, long hair, don't bear,
just starts running down towards the direction where Adela is.
Shut up.
All right.
Oh, man.
The bear gets all the way to where the dead two-headed troll is,
which is right near that side entrance where Nestor first peeked in so many episodes ago
and saw Earth Ashes.
Giving that rousing sermon.
So many episodes ago.
So long ago!
So that bear's just...
Actually, I think the bear has run so it can get a little farther.
So the bear turns the corner And it moves up
Now it's almost at the stairs
Leading up
It's pretty close to Delos
Are you sure it doesn't take the next three turns eating the corpse of that two-headed thing?
It thought about it
Then decided against it
Pembroke
Pembroke
Is going to
Take a five footfoot step closer to Baron and cast communal protection.
Oh, wait.
No, he already has it on, doesn't he?
He does.
Well, okay.
Well, he's going to cast communal protection from evil all on himself because that's his only real option.
On all of the images.
Well, I guess, I mean, Amir is next to you if you want. Oh, yeah.
And Farron.
Oh, yeah, Aram, I'm sorry.
And Feyraza, if you want to try to coax
her to our side, if she can do anything.
No, I'm talking about
Farron. Farron, sorry. Okay, yeah.
If he can split himself between
Farron,
if he can touch them all from one,
you know, you know what I mean? Totally can.
They're all right there. He will split the protection
from evil between himself and the two others.
Very cool. Okay so now
Barron, Aram,
Farron, and
Pembroke all have protection from evil.
Pretty cool. Very cool. Especially when the
burst spells start.
Alright Aram's turn.
Aram just holds.
He hasn't seen anybody take a hit, so he's okay right now.
Round three, Baron.
Baron reaches back into his potion bag, takes a swig of a bottle that has the silhouette of a spider on it.
bottle that has the silhouette of a spider on it.
He moves
and begins walking up the
side of the statue of Minderhall,
turns to Urathosh
and says, let us
fight in the shade of your false
idol, fool.
Oh, shit!
Nice. So wait, you start walking
up the statue as well?
But I only have 20 feet range, so it's like I'm like five feet off the, and I'm looking back at him like I'm Spider-Man on the side of a building, and I'm like, let's do this.
Wow.
All right.
Put yourself there.
So Baron is going to spider climb up as well.
Curious and curious.
Nestor, coin.
Okay.
Do you have a loaded giant spade crossbow?
I do.
Okay. Nester is going to
focus all, everything,
all of his attention is focused on
Earthdash. This guy's so
dead! And he's going to
he's in his second range increment still
and he's going to multi-shot
etc. That is
probably a miss. 25?
That's a miss.
And second.
A little fashy.
That's a miss also.
This guy's tough.
Nestor has finally got his showdown.
And it is the Stone Giant's turn.
Yeah, these guys are just so far away.
I wish you guys were just standing at the door.
It would have made this so much easier.
So they're just going to pick up their bags and
book. Alright,
Della.
Della is going to keep moving towards the stairs.
Alright, so Della is
just, she's heading down. Yep.
Slowly.
I mean, she's double moving.
She's moving as fast as she can.
It's only six seconds.
That's what I was going to say.
All right, Sir Will.
So one of the stone giants is on his way around the pew to Sir Will.
He sure is.
He can see this.
It's still pretty far away.
So Sir Will's going to do one move increment because you'd have to do a double move to get up to it.
So he's just going to do one move increment and then
he'll go into total defense.
One move increment,
total defense. Okay, so now
that guy is... Next round, this guy's probably
going to be within range. He's definitely within boulder range
and possibly within great
club range. The way you're positioned, he can't
charge to you because it's not a straight line,
but he might be able to get up to you. We'll see.
We'll see. We'll see.
And it is Farazza's turn.
Okay, so Farazza is going up in the air. She's going to
change her direction slightly and
fly in the direction of the cave
bear, and she's going to cast
Charm Animal.
Oh, you son
of a bitch. Oh my
God! Please! Okay, it's probably not going to work, but son of a bitch. Oh, my God. Please.
Okay.
Please.
It's probably not going to work, but it's a DC 14 will save.
Will save.
Does anyone have a bottle cap?
Hold on a second.
Disadvantage?
Hold on.
Don't roll anything.
Make sure that that spell says that even in the midst of combat and everything, that it'll just turn for us.
Because if it will, I will definitely use the bottle cap.
But if we're going to find some technicality,
it makes it irrelevant.
Yeah, because normally it's like
if they're being threatened by you
currently, it's like a bonus.
It's currently being threatened or attacked by you
or your allies.
None of us have attacked it.
And this eagle is the
only thing that's come near it. So I guess that's a GM call.
Yeah.
So what is the question?
Is it being currently threatened or attacked?
If it's not being threatened or attacked, it's fine?
Yeah, then we can try.
Yeah, you can try.
It's not...
Right now, it's out of range.
It is moving to attack you, but it's technically not threatened and technically not...
It hasn't been touched yet.
So I'm fine with it.
I'll allow it.
Okay.
Are you sure that's what it said?
It says it functions like charm person
except it affects a creature of the animal type.
I mean, if it's the technical definition of threatened,
it's not threatened.
It's not being attacked and hasn't been attacked yet.
Yeah.
If the creature is currently being threatened
or attacked by you or your allies, however,
it receives a plus five bonus on its saving throw.
Yeah, I mean, it gets into a gray area
because it's involved in a battle against you,
but it is not...
It's not a random wild animal.
Right, right, right.
This is like an animal that has been sicked upon you.
Troy, do rule of fun.
We never do rule of fun enough.
This is fun.
This is fun.
Yeah, I mean, you're not going to let it... You're not going to be able to make it attack for you.
No.
All I want to do is just not attack us.
All right.
I'll roll.
Hold on.
Do you want to use a bottle cap for this?
This is big.
I have one, too.
Oh, well, fuck you.
I'm going to throw mine in.
Okay.
Roll twice.
It probably has low will, I would think.
Take the lower.
Let's see.
Twice.
It probably has low will, I would think.
Take the lower.
Let's see.
I rolled a pass and a natural one.
Yeah!
I love it. I love it.
Holy shit.
Favreau's advice.
Yeah, man.
Matthew, high five.
That was 100% rule of fun, and that's what we're here to do.
Awesome.
Save your emails.
Don't waste the time clicking on the keyboard.
Oh, boy.
One hour per level.
One hour per level.
All right, so that thing is charmed unless something changes.
And there's a perfectly lovely dinner waiting for it.
Just a few squares behind.
There's going to be so much food.
What you're saying is not false.
All right, it is not false. All right.
It is Uratash's turn.
Uratash.
It's a good name.
Uratash.
All right.
What does old Uratash want to do?
Again, still very far away.
Uratash double moves up behind the stone giant that was heading to the south near the corpse of Morog, the two-headed troll.
Man, this is already a battlefield.
Let's get closer and closer and closer.
The bear stops in its tracks and does nothing.
Pembroke.
The bear and the Feyraz affair.
Is.
Hmm. Pembroke. The Baron of Firas Affair. Is, hmm.
He, yeah, he's going to hold.
The Baron, by the way, has an intelligence of two.
So as much as it knows, attack those guys.
If you guys had hit them once, I wouldn't have allowed it. Yeah, yeah.
All right, so Pembroke's just going to what?
He's just, he's going to hold.
Pembroke's going to hold.
Yeah.
And it's Aram's turn. Aram is's just going to what? he's just going to hold Pembroke's going to hold and it's Aram's turn Aram is also just going to hang back
he's waiting he knows shit's about to go down
round four I believe
my marker got moved
might be round three
no it's round four
Baron
Baron is going to fire at the closest stone giant
while still just sticking at a 90-degree angle to the ground,
parallel to the ground,
and he's going to kind of look upside down,
and his hair is going to be dangling back off his hatless head,
and he's going to say,
Oh, you're next.
All right, so you fired the stone giant.
It's very close to the pew,
so it gets a little bonus to its AC there.
I don't care.
Yes, that is a 28 to hit.
How is that possible?
How?
It's in your
first range increment? It's a 10
because it's outside of my first. It would be a plus
12. And then I get a plus
2 because it's Giant's Bane.
So I rolled a 16.
I got a 28, Joe.
That's going to be a hit even with the cover.
Wow.
Well done.
Hanging off a statue, 28 to hit.
There's hope for this party, yeah.
There's hope for this party, yeah. Well, eventually they're going to be on top of us
and things are going to be looking a little grim.
So that is...
It's going to be a while, though.
We'll be fine.
22 points of damage.
Awesome, dude.
And then after he fires the bow,
he takes 20 steps further
up the side of the statue.
Right at the crotch of Minderhall.
He's aiming for the shoulder
opposite of Nestor. Okay.
Oh, that's gonna look bad.
On the shoulders of giants.
And then I'm going to put a little pair of devil's
horns on my head, and I'm going to give
Nestor a little halo, and we're going to
whisper differing advice
into Minderhall's ear.
Alright, it is Nestor's
turn. Nestor, you see Baron coming up.
Fire one shot down at him.
Yeah, I'm going to try to take my chance.
My opportunity to kill Baron.
Take it, Baron!
Call the heel turn, motherfuckers.
All right, so Nestor actually has been sitting
on four bottle caps for a long time.
What?
To be used on something that can't possibly happen now,
so I'm just going to use them now.
Okay.
So this is, I'm going to use it on my first attack here,
the multi-shots, et cetera,
still second range increments.
Nine.
Yeah.
That's a miss.
Second attack.
Miss also.
That was a bottle cap miss?
Bottle cap well spent.
Oh!
So Ness is just up there.
Just firing away. Can't zero in on this dude. And itess is just up there. Just firing away at that.
Can't zero in on this dude.
No.
And it is the stone giant's turn.
It's stone time.
All right, let's deal with this first one here.
He sees his cave bear isn't doing what it's always done.
This is the same cave bear and giant duo that was up top when you guys first used the spike.
Yep, I knew it.
Oh, wow.
They were on patrol.
They didn't see you then, and now they do.
All right, so this guy, again, he's just, he needs to get up in your business.
The rock throwing is useless, regardless of the distance at this point.
So he's just going to double move
towards the direction where Della is coming.
I'm excited for that showdown.
Whereas the other one might be in range.
Oh, Sir Will.
Bring it!
Sir Will is so fired up.
Though I am kind of disappointed that Orathash flanked away from Sir Will.
I think it's becoming clear that he's afraid of the halfling on the wolf.
Definitely scared of him. Obviously.
He does get up there and within ten feet away, swings a great club at Sir Will.
Oh, whoa.
Do I want to do power attack?
Nah. Ha ha. Very smart choice Will. Oh, whoa. Do I want to do power attack? Nah.
Ha ha.
Very smart choice tactically, my friend.
Ah, Natty 90.
Wow.
Son of a bitch.
Oh, no.
Fucking shit.
Oh, no.
You think you're unhitchable?
Not so, Sir Will.
This is bad news, buddy.
Bad news bears.
Oh, it's going to be 19 points of damage.
Batter up.
What was that?
What was the total with the 19?
What do you mean?
It was 19 plus two hit.
The total two hit?
35.
Okay.
That's a hit.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
That would have been a nice little...
All right, so now it is Della's turn.
Della is going to finish coming down the stairs and head towards the middle pew.
Ah, interesting.
And can she acrobatics to get up onto right there?
Sure, that's going to be your action.
It's going to be a double move.
Sure, yep. All right, so you want to jump up
on that middle pew.
Yeah, so she's going to rush down into the middle pew,
into the row, and then just kind of like
side cartwheel
up onto the seat.
And I know your acrobatics is high enough
you don't have to roll it, so boom, you're up on the middle pew.
You're always doing something cool, Della.
Always. Sir Will, ten feet
away from you,
this dude just smacked ya.
What do you do? Uh, Sir Will
is going to
run.
He's going to full, not withdraw,
run.
So he's going to four times speed,
140 feet, all the way back
the way he came, and
up the altar to start
basically going the other way and putting this
giant alone on
an island completely out of position away
from everyone else. Okay, alright. Interesting
strategy. So, yeah,
you get an attack of opportunity.
Okay, even on that full
withdraw? It's not a full withdraw because
I'm running. I'm doing a run action.
Alright, what do you think? Natural 20 coming?
I hope not. I'm hoping it's a decent
roll. It's going to be a 27 to hit.
27 does hit.
Wow, I'm surprised.
Not with total defense, but I had to take it off
to do the run. Right. Oh boy.
That's going to be 22 points of
damage. That was a huge mistake.
Boom!
I never understand the rules of mount movement versus your movement. to be 22 points of damage. That was a huge mistake. Boom! Yeah, I just, I don't,
I never understand the rules
of mount movement
versus your movement.
Like, if Lexington is moving,
can't, like, I use my action
to have total defense?
You know what I mean?
Like, I just don't,
I don't understand the rules there.
It's very complicated.
Right in.
Yes.
This is why it's important
to learn the rules
before the match. Oh, but, please. I don't think it's important to learn the rules before we come back.
Oh, but please.
I don't think it's crystal clear in the rules.
I'm sure.
Yeah, I don't understand mountain movement to save my life.
All right, so you take another big crunchy hit there.
But you will get back up and Haram maybe can help you out.
And it is Haraz's turn.
Actually, Pembroke's going to take his turn.
Oh, Pembroke.
Pembroke's going to step up away from his mirrored images, apparently,
and do his last magic missile on Urthash.
Ah, okay.
16 points of damage.
16 points of damage.
That will sneak by any sort of DR.
Beautiful.
I'm assuming. He's got DR? Mag by any sort of DR. Beautiful. I'm assuming.
He's got DR?
Magical, yes.
Shit.
Oh.
Yes, so 16 points of damage.
Hits him.
He just points now at Pembroke.
And it is Feyraza's turn.
Pembroke has moved in the initiative order.
Feyraza is going to cast Flaming Sphere.
Oh, a good one.
I love this one. Classic spell.
A burning globe of fire rolls
whichever direction you point.
She's going to point with an extended talon
and the sphere is going to appear next to Orathash
and roll into Orathash's square.
She's got the range on that, right?
100 feet plus 10 feet per level.
Plus it can move 30 feet per hour.
Rolls it right onto his square.
You get a reflex save.
Reflex save.
DC 15 reflex.
DC 15 fails.
Nice.
I rolled a 14.
Nice.
3d6 fire damage.
Wow.
That's not...
11 points of fire damage.
That'll go right through.
Yep.
Not planning on that.
Okay.
And then Faraz is just going to keep kind of flying around.
Magic missile damage goes through DR, right? Yeah, it's energy damage. Regardless, it's not like DR magic or something kind of flying around magic missile damage goes through
DR right? yeah it's energy damage
regardless it's not like DR magic or something
alright so
and she just keeps flying around after that
flaming spear that flaming spear just hangs out there
you direct it
it's still in its space
is it a swift action or what is it
move action for you or is it
it moves as long as I actively direct it as a move action for you or is it it moves as long as I actively
direct it
as a move action
okay so it takes
your move action
to direct it
but you just dropped it
right in his spot
yep
alright
well yeah
it leapt into his spot
you have a round
to think about
how you're going to fly
and continue to direct it
I get two
I get two actions don't I
that's true
that's true
it is Urathash's turn
Urathash's turn Urathash
He does not care for that
I don't care what he cares for
I care what he cares not for though
Good point
Quoth the raven
Nevermore
Well said Grant
Well said
You know what the best part about this entire combat is?
The hardest enemy isn't even here yet.
This is messed up.
This is messed up.
Yeah, this is messed up.
Well, he showed up for like 20 minutes while Troy talked at the beginning of this episode.
He did show up in that note.
We should have killed him then.
We should have killed him.
He was just talking and talking.
We should have just gone out the side door and been like,
just like, scimitar through the stomach.
Yeah, just start stabbing him.
All right.
You see Earthash does something to himself.
This guy is going to be so buffed up.
It's insane.
As a swift action, he does that.
And then he...
Changes the judgment.
Maybe. And then he double moves. And then he... Change the judgment? Maybe.
And then he double moves.
Maybe it's a movement speed judgment.
Oh, yeah.
I'm not familiar with those because I'm only level three.
And he just bolts past.
He's up now near the cave bear and the other stone giant.
And it is the bear's turn. The bear...
Aram is now... it's his turn.
Sir Will, did you get back up to the dais or no?
Yes.
You did.
He is not within range to cure you, but he sees that you're in need of help.
So maybe he steps past Farron to be there for you and readies a heal if you need it.
Do you need healing?
No. Save the others. Do you need healing? No.
Save the others.
I'll take care of myself.
All right.
Round five.
Baron.
How tall is this statue of Menderhall?
That is an excellent question that will take me six minutes to look up.
How does it matter?
I just want to know when I'm up to the shoulder.
So I'm going to take a five-foot step.
You're up to the shoulder.
With spider climb, you're up there.
Yeah, you're up there.
All right, sure.
Let's rule of fun.
So he's going to spend the round reloading his crossbow.
Okay.
Nest your coin.
All right.
Nest your coin.
I don't think I'm going to use a bottle cap again.
I don't want to throw him away.
All right.
So he is going to do another full attack on Earthosh.
Hopefully hit him this time. Natural 20. Oh, shit. Alright, so he is going to do another full attack on Earthosh. Hopefully
hit him this time. Natural 20!
Oh, shit!
And I will spend a Bolton Cup
now. Yeah, that's great
to confirm. Genius!
Alright, Natty
15 and a Natty 11, so
that is 31.
31 on the confirm.
Just confirmed.
Jesus Christ! So what does that give us? That is 31. 31 on the confirm. Just confirmed. Jesus Christ.
So what does that give us?
That is a confirmed crit on the multi-shot.
Yes.
Multi-shot fan critical.
Yes.
Critical.
Critical.
Yes.
Nicely done.
Wow.
Wow.
All right.
You're going to have to give me a roll a D20 and a D6.
Critical.
Critical.
Critical.
Critical.
Critical. Confirmed. 14. Roll a d20 and a d6. Critical! Critical!
Confirmed.
14.
14, okay.
This was Urthas, right?
Yeah, yeah.
All right, this is from longtime fans and listeners of the podcast, Katja and David.
Oh, yeah.
From Heidelberg, Germany.
I've been there.
Pinned to the wall.
Target is pinned
to a nearby wall
object or the ground.
Normal damage
and target gains the grappled condition
and has to use
escape artist or CMB check against
the confirmation roll to escape.
It sucks that it's normal damage.
That was the one thing that I wanted
was to get that done, because it's times three.
Yeah, but it's still double damage.
Is it?
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
If it's a times three crit, that means it's double damage.
Normal damage means it's double damage.
Oh, it is.
Okay, I thought we were just...
Yeah, you're good.
Awesome.
He has a CMB DC 31 to escape.
DC 31 escape.
Unbelievable.
Beautiful!
Roll that damage.
You hit him right in the foot.
All right, so it's 52 points of normal damage.
Yes.
And 8 points of electricity damage.
60 points of damage.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable!
When was the last time we saw 60 points of damage dealt out in one shot?
Don't we remember that number?
It happened a while ago.
Isn't that a number we heard on a crit?
Yeah, I think so.
I believe it was...
Oh, Gristle Deck.
Gristle Deck.
Gristle Deck.
Gristle Deck on Galabras, wasn't it?
Oh, wow.
Wasn't that 60?
Remember, that was the paper.
He held up the paper.
Yeah.
That was 60, wasn't it?
I guess so, yeah.
That was a fun week.
It really was.
Oh, God, that's right.
Remember, but then you had the DR from The armor bus ride
That saved you, yeah
That's right, I had blocked that out completely
Wow
Do you have another attack, or was that your
Yeah, that's when I got a second attack
Alright, roll another Natty Twanzo
Oh, that's
30, 31
That's a hit
Beautiful
Uh oh, doesn't sound great 17 points of damage, 4 of which is electricity 31. That's a hit. All right. Beautiful.
Uh-oh.
Doesn't sound great.
17 points of damage, four of which is electricity.
Okay.
Troy's getting a little grumpy over here.
I think he just did some serious damage.
Yeah, bro.
All right.
I'm not even going to get to smite this guy. This has been the focus of my fucking life for months and months and months.
I've earned this, I think.
He's yours to kill.
He's mine.
He's mine.
That's a good point.
I probably should just try
to focus on the other stone giants.
Yeah, and he shouts,
leave him to me.
I get him.
I'm the one who gets him.
And he's like furious
that his foot is pinned to the ground.
He's like pulling at it.
Can't move, can you?
Let's see.
It is the stone giant's turn here.
The stone giant by the bear in Urathash or the stone giant due north of us?
Both of them.
I'm wondering if the stone giant can wake the bear up, but probably not.
It's a magical spell.
Yeah, no, I don't know how it works.
I don't think so.
You can maybe hit him.
No, it's not like sleep, right?
No, because then it would attack him. Right, right, right. Right. Yeah. Really glad I don't know how it works. I don't. I don't think so. Yeah, you can maybe hit him. No, it's not like sleep, right? No, because then it would attack him.
Right, right, right.
Right.
Yeah.
Really glad I just allowed that to happen.
All right, so it is going to rush past again and just start making its way to Crunch Town.
And the other one also double moves as well.
Where does the other, the one up north that Sir Will ran away from?
The south one are now in front of all
the pews, and by next move
they will be up on the dais together.
Oh, Jesus. And it is
Della's turn.
This did not work out how I planned.
Okay, Della
is going to...
It's so much less fun when you don't have all
of your spells available to you.
You did alright
last combat, Della. You did alright.
Della's gonna delay.
Della's gonna delay.
Okay, Della.
Della delays. Sir Will.
Uh, Sir Will Sir Will is going to come up toward Aram And seeing how fast that stone giant is closing on the altar
He is not going to run
He was originally going to run to the other side
But now he's going to think twice about that
And he's going to take that offer of a heat.
No, he only has one heal left.
No, he's not going to take that offer from a heal, but he's going to stand right beside Aram to defend him
in case this stone giant that he was running away from comes up onto the altar.
So he'll go over there.
I mean, that's just one move action, so I don't want to waste the turn,
but I really don't have much
of anything else to do. I have spells prepared that are
both irrelevant in this, at this
stage.
So yeah, I think
he's just gonna, he's just gonna have to
I hold a do total defense, just
in case somebody tries to throw a rock.
Okay.
And he's gonna tell him not to,
you know what, actually, he will spend a swift action to lay on hands himself to heal himself.
Okay.
Pembroke.
Pembroke is going to begin casting a spell.
Pembroke begins casting a spell.
I just rolled snake eyes on the lay on hands.
Box cars?
I mean box cars.
I think it's box cars.
Box cars. I mean box cars. I think it's box cars. Fey Raza.
Fey Raza is going to swoop
around some more and she's going to do another
classic spell. I feel like I get to do
the druid classic spells in this fight and do a little
call lightning on Uru. Oh, there you go.
Oh, classic. Yeah, that is classic.
So you get a DC 16 reflex
to half the damage. Okay.
Passes that one. Five points of damage.
Five points of damage.
That is the half I have.
It was ten.
And that's lightning damage, right?
Lightning.
Yes.
Okay.
And then she'll keep flying.
She won't move the orb, the sphere, for now.
Okay.
Fair enough.
And it is Urthash's turn.
Urthash was not planning on getting all these attacks.
He moves behind the bear.
He moves where?
Oh, that's right.
He's got to roll his escape artist, right?
Was that a standard action?
He's got two arrows lodged in his foot,
pinning him to the ground.
It's either an escape artist or...
All right, CMB, he breaks out.
Really?
Dude, what's his bonus?
Plus 21?
His CMB is plus 21?
Yes.
Not his CMD.
His CMB is plus 21. Jesus Christ. his CMD. His CMB is plus 21.
Jesus Christ.
He's a boss!
Yeah, but that's...
I mean, my CMB is like plus 8.
Well, you're...
I know.
This is a big difference.
All right, so that's his...
It's a standard action to break out, I'm assuming.
Like it's a grab.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right, so then he just moves behind the bear to...
Damn, I thought that was going to last longer.
Moves behind the bear to gain some cover against the arrows and will switch his judgment.
Well, we bought a round.
That's still good.
Yeah, that's still great.
The bear taken out of the fight, and it is Aram's turn.
Aram, did you tell him to, like, stand back?
Yeah, yeah.
I told him to stay behind me because this giant was coming up from the north.
All right, so he steps back as well.
Round six, I think, my thing keeps getting moved around.
Delia, you're still holding.
And it is Baron's turn.
Baron peeks out from behind Minderhall's nose, looks at the stone giant,
and he's heeding Nestor's words to allow him to have the final blow on Arathash,
and says to the stone giant, I am the
wind that blows the bell that
impedes your doom.
Oh, snap. Which one? The one up north?
No, the one that's
closer to Urathosh. I see Dub Didge.
That is a 27 to hit that guy.
That is gonna be a hit.
Let's see how much damage
it does. It does.
The damage song. Love it. Let's see how much damage it does. It does. The damage song.
Love it.
Let's see how much damage it does.
It does.
15 points of damage.
15 points of damage.
All right.
Fair enough.
That giant band crossbow getting a workout today.
Nestor.
Nestor's going.
Can you talk to the bear, Farazza?
I was trying to figure that out
I don't think so
It's a spell, speak of animals
Oh, well, I could guess
I think it's a level one spell
Tishpak has it
Nestor
Let's bring him in
For more on Tishpak, see Disorganized Play.
All right.
So he's going to continue to fire at Orithosh.
Okay.
Come on, dude.
Come on, dude.
Come on.
Nope.
Miss.
Oh, no.
And second attack is a miss also.
Oh, that was big.
That round was big.
Yeah, that was not good.
That would have been a good one.
Yeah, I mean, he is now protecting himself with the body of the bear.
And it is the stone giant's turn.
Time to get up to the dais.
Let's see how I want to do this, though.
These three guys really should have just started a moving company and just bought a van.
It's a much better life.
Less killing.
Less being killed.
They might kill us yet.
Oh, dude, please.
We are in trouble.
Alright, this dude rolls up and throws
one boulder at Nestor
and misses.
The other one
rolls up as well, throws one boulder at Baron and also misses. The other one rolls up as well,
throws one boulder at Baron,
and also misses.
They just cannot make it happen.
These guys need to get in melee.
And it is Della's turn.
Let's come back around.
Okay, so Della's gonna vanish.
Della's gonna vanish.
She's gonna use the wand to vanish.
She'll draw the wand and vanish herself.
Okay. Della, clutch, clutch. I'll draw the wand and vanish herself. Okay.
Della, clutch, clutch.
I'm going to move her off her space.
Okay.
Just to keep things honest. Sure.
Will.
So,
I would like to do...
I know that you
have given a lot of leeway here on
Rule of Fun, but if you'll look at where Sir Will is, there's just about sort of a 10-foot little gap between where a straight line charge.
Because the steps come up, right?
And they're 10 feet wide, and then they open up into the altar, which is 25-ish feet wide.
open up into the altar, which is 25-ish feet wide.
So for Will to do a straight line charge,
he can't do it without, for a moment, for about 10-ish feet,
leaping off the altar and trying to land this lance into the guy.
Do you picture what I'm saying? I see what you're saying.
I just don't see how you can do a charge there.
Well, run and jump off and then spear him and then just sort of fall down, like, five feet to the ground.
Fall off the dais.
But, I mean, you could say no, but it would look amazing.
It does look pretty cool.
It's just really hard to do because that's going to...
Okay, then I'm left with no choice to defend the people.
I mean, Aram and Pembroke, they can't take hits from this guy.
So it's just not an option.
So Sir Will will say, I mean, this is a tough situation.
He's going to die this round, but he has nowhere else to go or escape.
He's kind of backed in.
So he's just going to say,
I owe him a date.
Be with me.
And he's going to move up to within ten feet of the giant and then do total defense.
Ten feet of the giant.
And just try to hold him off from getting up the steps to his allies.
Okay.
All right.
And he doesn't provoke or anything.
He's not getting right up in his business.
Right.
I'm staying right at the edge of his reach.
All right.
Pembroke, you began casting probably one of your last spells.
Yes.
And a celestial hyena appears at the edge of the dais.
Alexander, theestial Hyena
Alexander!
and starts running at the
at the stone giant
running up the steps
to the south?
yes
and Pembroke
steps up, gets closer
moves up closer to the giants,
and casts a little spell called Hideous Laughter.
Ooh!
Nice.
On the giants, it is a DC 17 will save.
DC 17 will save on the stone giant
that is coming up the stairs to the south.
You said will save?
Yes.
Passed.
Okay. Passed Hideous Laughter. He's not the laughing type. up the stairs to the south. You said, we'll save? Yes. Past.
Past hideous laughter.
He's not the laughing type. They're very stern. I think he might get
a bonus because if the creature
is of a different type, it says
literally like humor. They don't understand your
comedy? No, no. It's not even the
language. It's just like they find different
concepts funny. Maybe that works in the
Catskills. Right. Not here! Maybe that works in the cat skills. Right.
Not here!
We're not in the borscht belt tonight.
Way to go, Foxworthy.
He's not into dick and fart jokes. I guess not.
Feyraza. Feyraza
is going to cast Speak with Animal.
Speak with Animal.
Okay. Animals. Animals.
Animals. And she's going to
lope, you know, fly around.
She's going to elope?
No.
Okay.
Not tonight.
Dad's got the car.
It's a free action.
Dad's got the car.
Tell the bear to come to us.
It's a free action to talk.
Oh, yeah.
I can talk to the bear.
So I'm going to tell the bear to, well, I can also send the bear away.
Well, that's either way.
Yeah, either way.
It's fine.
Either way is fine.
Sadella is going to, in Eagle, which now the bear can understand,
suggest that perhaps it's such a beautiful day.
Yeah.
Wouldn't it be lovely to just go take a stroll around the cathedral and pick up some nice varmints as an appetizer for dinner?
Something the bear is inclined to do.
Yeah.
All right, so just...
We're going to help find something for it to eat later.
But for now, just go out and have a leisurely hunt.
All right, so the bear starts walking out.
You know, starts slowly ambling towards the front of the cathedral.
It's going to eat Lurk alive?
Yeah.
Thereby leaving Urathash wide open.
And it is Urathash's turn.
Oh, baby. Okay. and it is Earthash's turn oh baby okay
Earthash
is going to
drink a potion
and Earthash disappears
oh that's so bad
that's very very very bad
and
well now it's the bear's turn so now it's when it moves
alright I'll go and Aram That's very, very, very bad. It's not good at all. And, well, now it's the bear's turn, so now it's when it moves.
All right, I'll go.
And Aram.
Can I?
Sorry, before you get to Aram, can I possibly amend very slightly my last turn?
Sure.
It wouldn't make any sense for Will to walk directly into his double attack range for no reason.
All he's trying to do is protect everybody on the dais. I was just realizing this.
He would just stay one, like,
you know, 15 feet away.
So it would have to take a...
So it would have to move 10 feet and get one attack.
Alright, put yourself there. That's fine.
I was wondering why you got so close.
Yeah, I mean, he was bold,
but he's not that stupid. He's fought a few of these things.
He gets the deal.
Alright, alright. We got next round now. Aram, but he's not that stupid. He's fought a few of these things. He gets the deal. All right. All right.
We got next round now.
Aram, chillin' with Farron.
It is Baron's turn.
Orthash has disappeared.
Yeah.
And this is disturbing to Baron, for he likes to know where the giants who want to kill him are at all times.
So he's going to just reload his crossbow.
Ka-chook.
Okay.
What a boring turn, dude.
It is. Sorry. Nestor's turn.
Alright. He's laughing.
He's like, can't hide forever, mate!
Can't hide forever! And he turns his attention
to the
giant climbing the stairs.
Yeah, you know, in a way, this is even better.
Just start taking out these other giants.
Yeah, this gives them an excuse to do that.
Which stairs?
I'm sorry.
I can only see one giant on my screen.
It's the one to the southern edge.
Southern edge.
So that's 29 to hit.
29 hits.
Beautiful.
And 40 points of damage.
40 points of damage. This is the only one that's been hit, and now he's been lit. Beautiful. 40 points of damage. 40 points of damage. This is the only one that's been
hit and now he's been lit.
And he's gonna
take his second attack as well.
Might as well.
That is
24.
25.
25 will hit.
Beautiful, dude.
Oh, max?
Yes.
23 points of damage.
Awesome.
All right.
Still kicking.
Still kicking.
But not happy about all that damage.
And now he is forced to attack a fucking hyena.
Well, and he's kicking, right?
So he has improved on arm strike?
No.
He is going to charge at the hyena and swing with his great club.
That is going to be like a 30-something to hit.
I'm not sure.
I don't have it in front of me, but I'm fairly sure that's...
22 points of damage on the hyena
that might do it
it's probably dead
that is
yeah he's dead
Alexander
Alexander no
back to heaven with you
beautiful celestial beast
I just got kicked out of roll 20 trying to delete the hyena
he's like how dare you heaven telling you not to do it I'm sorry. This beautiful celestial beast. I just got kicked out of Roll20 trying to delete the hyena.
He's like, how dare you?
Heaven tell you not to do it.
Next up is the other stone giant.
But I don't know how far away he is.
Oh, he's right near Sir Will.
Yeah, so he moves up and makes an attack.
Now, Sir Will, you move 15 feet away, correct?
Well, 20 feet away.
20 feet away. So he couldn't do a five-foot step and attack.
Right.
Now he can just do a charge and attack, right?
No, he cannot.
Because he's in the same position Sir Will was in.
There's a slight curvature in the stairs.
All right, so you think you've played this smart.
Yeah, I do see that slight curvature there.
If only you had the map, you would know.
Oh, boy.
That is some curvature.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, where he's standing, I can't do it.
So he will just move up.
You can't allow it.
And do one attack on Sir Will, and hopefully...
Come on, Sir Willamette!
Crit.
Hopefully crit.
Come on.
I think I got you, buddy.
31.
Damn it!
Shit on a stick!
You have to roll so high to get that.
18 points of damage
And
I wish I had another attack
It is now
Della's turn
One took out the hyena, one is slowly
Chip chip chipping away at her will
You don't know what Della does
You've hit 100% of your
Attacks with that fucking giant
And I think that you have to roll over 17 to hit.
He's got a pretty good to hit.
Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
All right, so I don't know what Della's doing.
Della's just walking around in the void?
Maybe.
Okay, okay.
Sir Will, what do you got, buddy?
Sir Will, jeez, I mean, I'm getting so frustrated as a player,
I can't separate the two.
Yes, you're playing God. I want to play smart.
I'm playing on teal!
I want to play smart, but I'll just die.
I don't understand the point.
That would be good.
Every single roll is a hit, even with total defense.
That would be good.
That would be good.
Gotta give the people what they want.
Shit, man.
That's not a character. Tell me your action.
You, shit man.
God, I truly
am at a loss. I have no idea.
I have no idea what to do.
You could attack the giant.
Do you stand and fight the giant and hope that Yomadai protects you?
I can't.
Like a man.
Okay, yeah.
Okay, cool.
So Sir Will, he's going to go down fighting.
Straight up.
He'll drop the spear.
That's it.
We're done.
Wow.
Highbury charge is done.
No chance for it.
It falls off the dais.
Yeah.
And with his faith in Iomaday, he draws the longsword.
This is Lork versus Kargik.
All over again.
Yeah.
And so, I mean, it's just over.
I don't know if I'm making a hasty decision here that's literally going to kill him for
no reason.
But it is important that
he hold him off of the other
guys. Yeah, because if you run away
he's going to attack and kill
Farron and Aram. Yeah. That's the
option. So dropping is a free action.
Oh, I can draw it out
as a move action
as part of a five foot step, right?
Yes, as part of your move action.
You have quick draw anyway, don't you?
No, I don't.
Drop is free.
That five-foot step, just make it a move action.
Or you want to try and do multiple attacks.
No, no, no.
I don't need to do multiple attacks.
Then, yeah, you can draw it with your more than plus one base attack bonus.
Okay.
Then I will drop it, draw, five-foot step up,
and fighting defensively, I will attack this thing with a long
sword and do zero
damage at best.
At best I will hit
and do no damage. Okay.
So I'm going to try to get a hit.
Here
we
go. Annoy him. Takes a second.
Yeah, exactly. I'm going to do mostly just
irritation damage.
That bypasses
the arm. So I'll miss
and stand there.
Awesome. So I'm right there
like five feet away, right, not even five
feet away, right up at his grill.
I want you to look at my Neon Green D20.
Yeah. Yomadai
is either with you or against you
when I roll next round. Yeah. We'll find out. Yeah. Yomadai is either with you or against you when I roll next round. Yeah. We'll find out.
Yeah. And
he most likely won't die next round,
but man, fuck. Fuck on a
shit. Fuck on a shit. Fuck on a
shit. That old adage.
Pembroke.
Pembroke. Children's tale from the sea.
Tommy, can I get a fuck on a shit?
Pembroke
is going to use one of his two remaining
spells and
cast invisibility on himself
wow he had a couple
and still in the tank
and back up
good call so Pembroke is invisible
and those images still are going right
they I think they're invisible too
but they keep
right okay so Pembroke goes invisible.
Feyraza.
Feyraza is going to complete her loping...
That's not the right word.
She's going to kind of fly around with her movement
and then cast Flurry of Snowballs
on the giant attacking Sir Wilf.
What?
So you get a reflex save.
Wow.
Reflex save?
23. Okay, you pass, but you a reflex save. Wow. Reflex save? 23.
Okay, you pass, but you take half damage.
Okay.
Did you make this character as a Rain of Winter NPC?
What is happening here?
I'm trying to save Sir Will's life.
That's what I'm trying to do.
It is 4d6.
You take half.
Okay.
Let's call it 2d6.
It's like Will Ferrell in Elf.
Terrible roll. It is. You take five points of. Let's call it two d6. It's like Will Ferrell in Elf. Terrible roll.
It is.
You take five points of damage.
Cold damage.
Cold?
Cold damage.
I should let you know it's cold damage.
All right, Feyraza.
It is Uratash's turn, and you have no idea what Uratash is doing.
Can you show us where he moved on the map, please?
Just on the map real quick, please.
No, but the bear does continue going out.
He's going to go
hunt rabbit.
See ya!
He's going to go turn over some logs,
eat some grubs.
Peace!
Honey,
I'm going to eat some roots and tubers.
Della, you need to make yourself known for Urvash can see you.
Oh.
What?
True sight.
True sight.
True seeing?
See invisibility.
Oh, no way.
He cast that on himself or he drank that?
Don't worry about it.
Oh.
So he made it up.
Della is...
It's not even a real spell.
Della is where she is supposed to be.
Where is she?
Right...
Oh, right behind those steps.
Okay.
All right, Della.
She's still invisible.
Sure, sure.
Just not to her.
Just not to the most dangerous man in the room.
Okay.
Fair enough.
It is... Oh Aram's turn.
Next round, round seven, Baron.
Baron sees his good buddy Sir Will in trouble and turns his attention to help aid him
and rolls a, most certainly a hit, a 25.
With that cover that Sir Will is providing,
that is a miss.
There's covered an angle with a two-foot-tall halfling.
All right, I'll go along with it.
He's up like 25 feet up in the air.
Giant with the halfling.
All right, yeah.
I'll go with it.
Rule of fun.
Rule of no fun.
I don't get the rule of fun.
Only you guys get the rule of fun.
GMs will get rule of fun.
You get the rule of flavor.
I get the rule of flavor.
You get the flavor feat.
Look at me.
Yes.
We're having fun.
Well, you know what it is?
It's just you're trying, you're being more careful to try to not hit Sir Will and it
fucks you up.
And with that happening, in an attempt as well, as brazen and bald-faced as Sir Wills
were to get back the love of Iomedae, Baron attempts to get a grit point back by leaping
off the shoulder of the
giant to join in battle
his friend. What? Wow.
Simultaneously dropping the
giant spade crossbow and drawing
the double-barreled pistol. Wow.
Leaping from the statue, taking falling
damage. Roll the acrobatics check to try
and break
DC 15 for half damage.
16. 16.
Half damage.
You're going to take three points of damage, and you get a grit point. Yes!
That is just cool.
That's badass.
I'm coming, sir.
We'll just hold on.
Wow.
Here comes the leader of the pack.
Yeah.
All right, Nestor, what do you got?
Nestor's going to keep firing at this giant that just killed his favorite hyena.
That is 28 to hit?
28 hits.
And 37 points of damage.
And that one is dead.
Yes.
One stone giant down.
Oh, that's so huge.
And then he's going to climb up to the top of the statue's head,
from the shoulder up to the top of the statue's head.
Okay.
So Nessa just keeps going up.
And it is, well, not that stone giant's turn, but it is the one.
This is where we see a Fioma day.
Truly.
Truly.
All right.
It lives in the real world.
First attack. just brace yourself
you know she doesn't right yeah i just want i just want to make this clear and you know
what he's been hitting maybe i want to switch that power attack for that crazy damage
this is so bad i need a low roll here. I think I got you, buddy.
Shit.
31.
Dude, every fucking, fucking roll.
Every single roll.
Good thing I didn't put on power attack.
This episode of The Glass Cannon was brought to you by the letter F.
24 points of damage on the first hit.
Second one's going to be a little harder, but this neon green, she showed up.
She showed up for this ep.
Second attack is a 23.
That's a miss.
All right.
Off the shield.
Clang!
Della.
Okay.
God, it's so horrifying looking at my hit point total right now.
Is it bad?
It's not, like, death bad, but it's getting close.
It's not death good, either.
It's not death good.
Grant liked that one.
I'm just thinking of Phil Hartman as the caveman attorney.
And Frank is like, death gone.
Fire, bam.
Oh, boy.
Della's just going to double move.
I mean, a perception check's not going to help her here,
so she's just going to double move.
Double move where?
Well, I guess you would know.
I guess you would know.
Yes.
Yes.
She's so creepy.
Yes, Della, which way are you going to move?
Tell me north, south, west, west.
Do you want to know or do you want to keep doing your thing?
I'm enjoying this voice.
He knows her first name?
Yes, Della.
No, we're just retrieving.
They're all oracles.
She's up on the dais.
So Della moves.
On the dais, on the dais.
Up to the dais.
We've been surrounded by oracles this whole time.
Unfortunately. The Federal the dais. We've been surrounded by oracles this whole time. Unfortunately.
The federales got us.
Della is stopped.
Dead in her tracks.
Oh no.
As she walks directly into Urathash.
Oh no.
Who rains down an attack of opportunity on her.
Oh dear sweet Jeebus.
With his flaming warhammer.
So it is a one-handed hammer. You can use it two-handed obviously. Warhammer. So it is a one-handed hammer.
You can use it two-handed, obviously.
Oh boy.
22.
With Cat's Grace.
That's my AC, exactly.
Oh no!
Matthew, why didn't you just lie?
Just lie!
I don't play that game.
21 points of damage
plus
the flames of the faithful.
Do they harm evil creatures? Because she's evil.
Yes. Plus another
three points of fire damage.
And now
he is face to face
with you.
Face to face with Orithosh
But he became visible
Let me ask you this
Immediately
He became visible
And that was only
One move action for me
That's where he is
So you move to there
That's true
Could I take an attack?
Sure
Alright
I guess so yeah
Did you have all the shocking
Business prepped?
Shocking burst and keen.
Keen?
Get that critical threat going, dog!
But it's still got to hit him, so I don't think it's going to.
Yeah, it's going to be tough.
Wonder Walk.
Natural three.
Miss.
God damn it.
Matthew, I think you and I would roll pretty bad in general.
Sir Will.
Sir Will-im-it.
So Della becomes visible too.
Yeah.
Not that it matters.
Right.
But now...
Oh, because Orthos became visible.
Yeah.
Yeah, Sir Will is...
Hearing Baron is coming to his aid.
He's reinvigorated.
And he is going to...
Yeah, he knows he just can't do any damage to this thing,
so he's going to do total defense.
Sir Will, total defense.
Buffing that A.
Yeah, he's going to buff that AC,
and he's going to pray for Iomidae's grace here
and have Baron take this evil creature out.
Take him out.
Pembroke.
Pembroke.
Seeing. out. Pembroke. Pembroke seeing Urathash
visible now is going to cast
his final spell
of his life.
And
it will come into effect
next turn.
His final spell of his life.
Feyroza.
Such a horrible person.
Feyroza.
Feyroza is...
I wish there were plants in here.
Dude, I played a druid for a long time,
and I was like, where are all the fucking plants?
You enter the greenhouse cautiously you are set upon in the greenhouse well in the vault of thorns druid would have been amazing yeah in fact we had a
druid in the vault of thorns that worked out well for us yeah true another heel turn Sorry give me one second Okay so Farazza is going to
Fly back towards
Urathash
Seeing him become visible
And she's going to cast Ice Spear
Oh that's a good one
I like the sound of that
That sounds good
One Ice Spear is going to lance up out of the ground
It affects a five foot square
And tapers to a height of Ten feet It's going to be up out of the ground. Okay. It affects a five foot square and tapers to a height of
ten feet. It's gonna
be on Orathash's square. Okay. You take
2d6 points of piercing damage and 2d6
points of cold damage per square.
Okay. So it's two squares.
Sure. And he's tempted you out. So you're gonna
take... A reflex save?
I believe it is a reflex. Reflex
half.
Oh, uh, natural 17.
Okay.
But it's 4d6, 4d6?
Yep.
Wow, that's great.
So 13 for the first one, so 6.
Is that piercing or the cold?
It was both. Does it matter?
Yes.
It's fine.
Okay, and then the second one, purple and red are this piercing.
Uh-huh.
Eleven piercing and seven cold, but you take half of each.
Uh, okay.
Wow.
So, five and three.
And now there's an ice spear.
But you made your reflex save, so you don't trip or anything.
That is nasty.
Walk me through that damage again.
Again, it was 13, or it was 5 and 3.
Total.
5, piercing, 3, cold?
Yeah.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
Pretty cool spell.
I don't think I've heard of it.
Very cool spell.
I thought I had heard of it.
I was like, oh, ice spear.
Is it ice spear or icy spear?
Ice spear.
Ice spear.
Ice spear is plural. That is cool. Well, was like, oh, Ice Spear. Is it Ice Spear or Icy Spear? Ice Spear. Ice Spear.
Ice Spear is plural.
That is cool.
Well, hang on, hang on, hang on.
When the Spears erupt from the ground, they make a combat maneuver check against any targets that take damage from the Spears.
With a total bonus equal to your caster level plus intelligence wisdom or charisma modifier.
So, okay.
Oh, but you faster reflex.
It doesn't matter.
Okay.
Sorry.
All right.
Very long-winded spell. Urathash is going to rain down multiple attacks on Delanai.
Oh, no. The fan favorite to die in this combat.
Or at least our cannon fodder favorite.
Attack number one.
Have I confirmed a crit in the past couple weeks?
Not with a named character.
Just asking.
You confirmed a crit on an unnamed.
Right.
That's true.
First one, 33 unnamed. Right. That's true. First one,
33 to hit.
Yes.
All right,
you take
21 points of damage
and six points
of fire damage.
Oh, boy.
Fire.
No, come on,
Della, no.
Second attack.
Della, no!
Natural 20.
No fucking way.
Not even lying
with a times three critical for a warhammer.
Oh, dude.
Red critical!
Sorry.
Yeah, I have to do it.
Yeah, you have to.
You have no choice.
Matthew, he has no choice.
What did I just say?
I hadn't rolled a 20.
Matthew is staring daggers at Skid right now.
I'm so sorry.
I'm actually making this a terrified face.
He's staring kind of at puppy dog eyes at me to To confirm, I mean, this is only the second attack.
25 to confirm.
Confirm.
Oh, my God.
That's a fan critical, dude.
Oh, man.
That's a fan critical.
Oh, that lucky, lucky fan.
Oh, yes.
It is a fan critical.
I forgot.
I was ready to just roll the damage.
I'm shaking.
All right, ready?
I'm shaking.
Two D20s and a D6. This is how many we're getting these days. Oh, wow. Two d20s and a d6.
This is how many we're getting these days.
I pray that they are as
ineffectual as the ones Skip said.
20.
Don't look ahead, Matthew.
I'm shaking.
Okay.
Bludgeoning, right?
Matthew from Ithaca, New York.
Wait a minute.
Matthew Copel?
Matthew Copel.
Matthew Copel.
Matthew, did you do this?
Didn't we get this one already?
Stop hitting yourself.
Your blow knocks the opponent's weapon into themselves.
Double damage plus normal damage from the target's own weapon or natural attack.
So wait, double damage for Della's scimitar?
Double damage for your attack.
And then a normal roll of his scimitar's damage.
I think Della's dead.
Roll your scimitar damage and then I'll roll triple damage
on the warhammer.
17 points of damage.
Are you unconscious?
I think she just died.
I'm pretty sure...
I mean, she's gonna die.
Just so you know, she's going to die if you roll it super high.
Even if you roll it medium high.
I mean, if it's over 30, she's permanently dead.
Just so you're aware.
Della takes 55 points of damage and is permanently
dead
oh my god
we'll see you next week
Jesus Christ
how can you
oh my god
