This week on the Glass Cannon Podcast.
Please put yourselves on the map.
I will follow Joe's lead.
I can't believe this is happening.
The time has come.
Slowly, she looks up at you to reveal the decaying face of a female frost giant.
For the heroes to face a queen.
She stands up, black sludge coming out of her mouth
and her sickening court i'm like physically nauseous right now just thinking about this
this is so it's really creepy yeah in the most important fight of their lives. I do not know what you have been told, but I am indestructible,
and no matter what you do, or what you think you may do,
I will not cease until I see all of you dead.
The battle with Skir Katla begins...
Roll for initiative.
Yes!
...right now.
Hello everybody! Hello, everybody.
Welcome to episode 202 of the Glass Cannon Podcast, or 204, whatever Matthew claims it is. But this is Skid Marr, and I wanted to let you know that there are still some tickets left for Glass Cannon Live Indianapolis going on during Gen Con this August.
Our Thursday night show is nearly sold out, but there is a Saturday matinee
that still has a good chunk of tickets left.
So go ahead, get on it.
Let's sell out both shows.
We also announced last week
that we are coming to Atlanta for Dragon Con
at the end of August for another Glass Cannon Live.
You don't want to miss that show
with the Masquerade in downtown Atlanta
Saturday, August 31st.
And there are still some VIP tickets available for that as well.
Head to our blog for the link to buy tickets.
And you know what?
We may actually have another announcement as early as this week for another Glass Cannon Live date and location.
Very excited about that.
But without further ado, let us get into Episode 202.
But without further ado, let us get into episode 202.
There are a lot of different ways to pinpoint the true end of book three.
But I like to look back and see it as episode 132, Leaving Las Vegas, to leaving Lost Magus as the true end of a chapter
and the beginning of a new chapter that was 70 episodes ago.
On the dot!
On the dot!
And now here we are.
You have raided this tomb for all intents and purposes.
Pull out on your Roll20s and really look at the
map if you haven't done so in a while i mean when i first put this map up here i was like well
they're not going to hit everything i'm not going to tell you if you did or you didn't but as you
can see most of it it looks pretty pretty pretty cleared out you want to hear a fun fact? Yeah.
I use the term fact loosely because I haven't verified it. But I have it on a good source.
A good source.
I would consider Order of the Amber Dye a pretty good source.
They are very meticulous about what they do.
The Tomb of Skirkatla is the largest dungeon ever published by Paizo.
Wow.
Yep. A dungeon. Like underground or under something uh map it is the largest map ever published by them for largest single map yeah
the largest single map that makes that makes sense because i thought as soon as we would walk in those
doors skirkala would be on the other side so did i I. Book over. Yeah, a lot of you thought. That's exactly what I thought. Here we go. Final battle.
Nope.
Nope.
25 more episodes.
With every square being 10 feet.
Yeah, that's the thing.
It's enormous.
Yeah.
It's enormous.
It reminds me of another one, but I don't want to spoil it for people that might be
playing it, but it's a game that we've played that had a similar pretty large dungeon.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
But I don't think those were 10 foot squares.
I think those were five foot squares.
Are you thinking of something in Jadeade region i perhaps i am i was just about to say i feel like this is as in as a map yes but in terms of a dungeon this one feels something
vertical in nature yes that's what i was thinking
yeah that one there are a couple different maps yeah that was uh that one was that was big it was fun we've said too much it was fun that was super that was yeah it was fun but i felt like you were
in that dungeon for like a year we were in there for a long time we were we were well uh now we we
have made it here um you've made it to skirkotlis tomb i mean amazing feyraza has already seen it
although it was empty at the time of her ethereal jaunt.
Of course it was.
Yes.
Unfortunately,
very unfortunately,
it's just bad luck.
You just came at a bad time.
Was,
was Skirkala watering the ice roses outside?
What was going on?
Well,
you got to keep them nice.
Sometimes you just have to,
you have to go to the bathroom.
Okay.
Right.
Uh,
that is the final room.
Smoke break.
Skirkala's bathroom.
Skirkala's bathroom. She's in the restroom yeah you were sitting outside to hear a loud flushing noise i'm sorry you're 10 minutes of
i uh i get nervous a lot from for combats like this but boss battle combats end
of book combats especially at this high level there's just so many moving pieces and like
i have had this pseudo prepared for i mean months because at any point you could have walked into
this room from from when you first fought that devourer you were
outside of her chamber now obviously there was a haunt that you had to deal with that you you still
didn't but um anyways the point being at any point in the past maybe 20 or so episodes
this fight could have happened but instead it's happening now but instead, it's happening now. It sure is.
It's happening in mere moments.
Are we sure?
Are we sure?
Well.
She could still be in the loo.
It's true.
It's true.
If you look at the map, no one is in her room.
I have not added any creatures whatsoever.
So maybe you caught her at a bad time again.
Maybe she's already moved on to book five.
We're going to find out soon enough.
What I need to know from you before you start trying to overbuff yourselves
As I'm sure you will do
Let's go over what you already buffed yourself with
No such thing as overbuffing, Troy
It's a conflict of terms
This is not World of Warcraft
This is Pathfinder
We could buff for the wrong things
It's true
I'm hoping you did
Well, I know something I want to do i mean so
we do have some time i want to no no i'm not no we have plenty of time i want to know what you
already buffed yourself what are we already forage you did stuff too we have stone skin from the
forge stone skin from the forge last 13 hours so right we're set all right that was 12 hours ago
resist energy communal cold energy cold communal and now how much does that give you 30 30 points of
resistance of resistance and uh baron and dalgrath have al's wisdom also courtesy of faraza
a slight buff to our will save i think i do too right i know she just i didn't give it to you
she had two instances of it so i think that's it. I think you were like, I'm pretty wise.
Fuck off.
I did.
I did specifically tell you to fuck off for offering to give me a bonus.
You're so wise.
Druid.
So wise.
All right.
Talk to me about what you want to do.
And I'd like you to police yourselves.
Be reasonable here.
Don't cast anything that has a time
of less than five minutes on it
because, you know,
what are you already
giving me grief for?
Because my intent,
less than five minutes,
we're right outside the door.
There is no door.
You're just on a staircase
that leads up to an open room.
So if we walk in that room.
So if you want to cross up,
you're going to just run in
and start attacking.
What if it's like an innocent woman sitting on the throne this is like one of those police training
scenarios where it's like a mother with a baby like pops up and we just start packing Oh, God. Oh, my God. Why did you?
Why?
Why?
That's what I call justice.
That's right.
You shouldn't have been in here.
So for five minutes, I'm glad you put that out there because I am a fifth level inquisitor
of Torag, and I can cast a five minute long spell called Weapon of Awe.
Okay. And little kitties shoot spell called Weapon of Awe. Okay.
And a little kitty shoot out of my gun.
Awe.
Well, I mean, I think it's ridiculous.
I can say, regardless, being right out looking up at these stairs,
knowing from favoritism that we're walking into this throne room,
most likely Skirkotless Chamber,
Dogwraith is going to pop and drink a potion of invisibility.
Okay.
So he's going to go invisible.
That's like ten minutes a level. Three. I thought it going to go invisible. That's like 10 minutes a level.
I thought it was one minute a level.
Is it 10 minutes a level?
One minute a level.
So it's three minutes.
It's three minutes.
Okay.
I will cast airwalk communal on everybody.
Ooh, thank you.
Wow.
That's fun.
How long does that last?
130 minutes.
120 minutes.
Split up evenly amongst a group.
That should be more than enough time.
And that just lets you start walking through the air at any point.
Yep.
Normal speed.
I mean, can you still run and jump?
Yeah, but not...
You have the option to climb up the air.
Okay.
You can tread on air as if walking on solid ground.
Right.
Okay.
So weird.
You cannot move at an angle.
The maximum upward or downward angle is 45 degrees.
Got it.
Okay.
And just in case.
And half your normal speed.
Just in case this combat involves summoned evil creatures,
I will cast protection from evil on myself.
Okay.
And finally, Troy, you're're gonna love this one long shot
okay 50 feet of range all right oh boy anyone else i think that's it i have i have one more
but i'm gonna save it okay what does that mean just for you troy just for me i'm saving until
we know a little more what's about what's gonna happen pam are you good i pembroke is going to cast a mirror image
five images okay
okay hello pembroke hello pembroke hello your last couple have been like seven
yeah that's if i roll max okay so this was not uh not a great role not a perfect role hello john
hello i really I always picture
it like those guys that do the Jackson
5 thing with the puppets on the board.
Oh, when they have the
rod in between. Yeah, the rod.
Yeah.
All right. And so your protection from evil
is also five minutes. Yes. Every spell I
cast that has a minute per level
is going to be four minutes and 50 seconds so you can assume whatever happens before an inevitable combat begins
all of your spells that you've cast will last with the exception of joe's invisibility which
will not as i clearly stated and you disobeyed me that doesn't make any sense why we are we
control it not you that's true drink it and we walk in the room.
You tell us what happens next.
Right.
So what happens 10 seconds after we walk in the room?
Do you walk in the room?
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Joe goes first.
I go first.
And you go first.
Please put yourselves on the map.
I will follow Joe's lead.
I can't believe this is happening.
I can't believe it's happening.
I probably...
Any predictions?
...read this flavor text when
Feyraza first flew through here,
but I'm not 100% sure, because you were
also seeing it on the Ethereal Plane, but I can
tell you, the
walls of this cavernous room,
to the east and the north, are finished
masonry, but the rest
of the chamber has a rough quality to it,
as if hewn from the rock itself. Against the western wall sits a square stone dais,
more of a solid block of stone than an actual fancy platform like you saw in the Skirkaling
longhouse. There's a flight of steps cut into the eastern side of the dais, leading up to a massive black throne. Faded, tattered carpet runners connect the dais to massive stone doors to the north and the east.
The east lead past the haunt.
There are two other doors to the north.
White support columns...
The bathroom?
The bathroom, yes.
White support columns stand in remote corners of the room,
along with a solitary stone bench towards the south end,
which is the end you are walking in through.
The ceiling in here is 40 feet high.
The dais, at its tallest point, is 20 feet tall.
At its tallest point.
So is it 10 feet and then another 10 feet?
Like there's two levels that we see of the dais.
Is it 10 feet up and then another 10 feet up?
Oh, I see what you say.
So basically, don't worry about the stairs, but the dais itself is all 20 feet.
That's like a small little step onto that other part.
Can we also just take a second?
20 feet.
That's a two-story building
that's two basketball hoops that's in that is very high but super high when you are a giant
you have to build your certainly this is you know proportional to you that's why like i think i i i
went to saint john's cathedral uh last year because just thinking about this the the adventure because
like i just wanted to go into the biggest building i could find, just to get kind of a sense of the awe.
Yeah.
You know?
Oh, Mary Methodist.
It's the biggest, yeah, Gothic cathedral in the world.
And, yeah, it's amazing.
And that would be a small building, like, for these giants.
So it's like, but just to remind yourselves, like, how awe-inspiring and awestruck you'd be to see this giant stuff everywhere.
Yeah, I mean, this is an enormous room here, and the dais is 20 feet tall.
So that may change some of your tactics.
But let me tell you a little more flavor, because you entered the room room and it is occupied this time around
because sitting on the throne
is the massive body of a female warrior,
an enormous winged helm atop her head.
She has a battle axe in her hand
that she's sort of absentmindedly sharpening.
Slowly, she looks up at you in her hand that she's sort of absentmindedly sharpening. Oh, man.
Slowly, she looks up at you to reveal the decaying face of a female frost giant.
Oh.
Have we seen it before?
Well, when you guys were, and by you guys, I mean Feyraza and Pembroke,
during her speech to the group, you were looking from behind.
All you could see was the back of her head.
You now see that her face is just skull and bits of flesh.
Oh, wow.
Yellow, glowing eyes.
Her face, in fact, her whole body seems kind of blurry and out of focus when you come in.
There are two bony, elongated corpses just, like, floating next to her, another side of the throne.
Floating?
Just floating corpses that, like, turn to look at you as well as you come in.
Giant corpses?
No, medium-sized corpses.
The only light in the room is like this sickly green-looking flame
that'll flicker in and flicker out.
Flicker in and flicker out.
Around the throne.
I'm physically nauseous right now
just thinking about this.
This is so...
It's really creepy.
Yeah.
She looks at you.
What a surprise Of course
You would come before a queen
Unannounced
Since the moment
You entered my camp
You have made yourselves right at home
Leaving nothing but destruction
In your wake And ruining my life's work.
You have murdered my lieutenants.
You've slaughtered my people.
You've stolen the lives of my greatest advisors, even those who aided me in my quest to become immortal.
And now you walk in here, believing you can kill me as well.
You think you can just come and go with no penalty in my tomb,
to spit in the face of what was to be my final resting place with no consequence.
She looks at Pembroke.
Try your teleportation magic in here, old man.
See how far it gets you.
Flee.
She looks at Baron.
We flee on foot.
Run!
Dimensional anchor.
I'm thinking dimensional anchor.
Or an anti-magic field in the room.
Well, I mean, she's in the room, so she's got to be a caster, right?
She looks at Baron.
Holding an axe.
She's just sharpening it while she's talking.
Looks right at Baron.
I have never seen your weapon, dwarf, until they told me what you possessed.
I now know all too well what it can do.
To Feyreza, Nifondris' cloak may keep you alive, Osirian.
Or perhaps you'll live out your days on the ethereal plane.
And you, giant slayer, try and mount me.
I'm begging you.
I know you're here somewhere.
Your reign of heroics
ends now.
I do not know what you have been told,
but I am indestructible
and no matter what you do
or what you think you may do,
I will not cease
until I see all of you
dead.
They told me
you could be repurposed
as a capable war machine
to perhaps lead my armies one day
I no longer care to harness your power
your bodies will be defiled
when I am done with you
and in Urgothoa's name
your souls will never find peace for what you have done.
She stands up, still blurry.
Black sludge coming out of her mouth.
Let me show you what she looks like.
This is going to be so scary.
I don't want to.
Oh.
Oh, no.
She's got a winged helm?
A winged helm.
Crazy looking battle axe.
A shield.
Look at that battle axe.
It looks like an eagle flew into the back of her head and got stuck there.
Her jaw looks like it's barely hanging on.
Like if you gave her a right hook, her jaw would come flying off.
That battle axe looks a little magical.
It sure does.
It's a pretty, pretty badass battle axe.
It has not been three minutes.
It's been two, almost three, if there's anything you'd like to do, Joe.
I will give you the opportunity to do it now, but any action you
take will have consequences. He stabs her
in the back of the neck.
Because that's where he is.
So the whole time he was just walking. He just air
walked right up.
Right behind her.
Leveled his blade.
Weighted as she stood up.
And then
right into the base of her neck.
Roll for initiative.
Yes!
Here we go.
And then he's going to grab on for the ride.
Yes.
Is he?
Is he on the ride?
It's starting off bad. It's starting off bad line It's starting off bad
It's starting off bad
It's starting off bad
Talk to me
Baron rolled a 30
30
Oh that's huge brother
That's great
That is huge
That is great
Feyraza
25
25
Pembroke
18
18 for Pems
What's your initiative bonus?
Uh, oh, it's 17.
It's plus one.
17, okay.
And Dalgrith.
16.
Dalgrith.
That is a natural four.
Poof.
To start the combat.
Poof.
And what is your initiative bonus?
Uh, minus plus 12.
Plus 12.
Oh my god.
Okay.
Yeah, freaking natural four on the most important combat in Dalgrith's life.
That's so unlike you.
I know.
It's strange.
Certainly is.
Oh, boy.
Oh, my God.
All right, so, Dalgrith,
you have a, whatchamacallit,
a bonus to your stealth,
which is pretty insane because you're invisible.
Right.
Yeah, we didn't technically roll the stealth checks that we need to roll, so it's up to you how you want to. I'm going to have you roll your stealth, which is pretty insane because you're invisible. Right. Yeah, we didn't technically roll the stealth checks
that we need to roll.
So it's up to you
how you want to...
I'm going to have you
roll your stealth check
with the bonus
because she has
an insane perception.
Okay.
It's really high.
It's plus 20
with invisibility?
Yeah.
So that's 51.
51?
You'll beat that?
You know what?
I didn't, but I'll tell you what I rolled
Just cause it'll surprise you
I rolled a 46
Wow
So imagine if that had failed you'd just
She just turns and strikes
It would make sense that she would be that good
But you get your surprise round
Against her flat footed
A6
So she's exceptionally wise, you say, eh?
Oh, interesting.
Anti-Wisdomfield, cast it.
Anti-Wisdomfield, go.
It's called Jägermeister.
All right.
Extended warranty.
How can I lose?
It worked.
Okay.
I'm going to jab this sword.
Try to jab this sword Try to jab this sword
First of all
Any predictions about
Who might go down here
Oh my god
Caitlin asked
Ike and I were talking
About this today
She was like
What are you doing
I was like
Well it's the boss fight
And so somebody
Will probably die
And I think Troy
Really wants it to be Grant
Well Baron
Baron
I'd like Grant
To survive the episode
Yeah hopefully
All four of us
Survive the episode I'll four of us survive the episode
I'll tell you I woke up
I made some eggs a little toast
Spread some soft laughing cow
Light Swiss cheese on it
I made
Made a little multigrain waffle
Put a little bit of agave syrup on it
And then Angel and I took a little walk through the park
Okay got to the track
Did you hold hands?
I'm a lot faster than her
and I won't slow down
for her pace.
So she walked behind me.
Did you drag her around
like a guy that fell off
his horse?
Being attached to a stirrup?
We held hands a few times.
She's like,
well, Grant walked
through the park.
Grant walked me
through the park.
We walked around the lakes.
We saw a group of mallards
and then we got to the track.
I ran a mile and a half
and then we walked home
because I want to be in a half, and then we walked home.
Because I want to be in a good mood no matter what happens.
And I'm hoping these endorphins will get me through.
So I'm ready.
Okay.
Okay, well, it's a good thing you're ready.
It's a beautiful day.
It is.
It is a beautiful day.
I got the sun shining, literally burning my skin.
I'm the only one currently at the table with the sun directly all over him.
In about two seconds, Joe's going to have the meat sweats.
I'm hot and sweaty and angry.
It's cooking your internal organs right now.
Your pale skin.
I'm in an extremely good mood.
I'm very excited for this combat.
I am really nervous.
I do think that Baron is going to die.
That is my prediction.
Baron is going to die this episode.
I think that next most likely, possibly more likely, but next most likely in my eyes is Dalgray.
That was my prediction.
I think he's in an incredibly dangerous position by the nature of his class, but he could get
lucky.
And just picture as-
He could.
Sorry, I'm just laughing in your face, but that's it.
Right after that speech was given, as she's done, a knife comes out of nowhere and the invisibility field dissipates off you and you're right there.
I'm right there.
Yep.
What about you, Skid?
Who do you think might bite it?
Pembroke.
Do you think Pems?
Yeah.
It is hard to kill a wizard.
It is, but...
You find yourself in that one bad position.
Right. If you get caught out, I yourself in that one bad position. Right.
If you get caught out, I don't have a lot of hit points.
Yeah, I would say.
I don't have my AC.
Yeah, I think if you're the victim of one good full attack action.
One good hit.
One good hit.
One good crit.
One good crit will definitely do it.
Two good hits will do it, too.
He's got an axe, too.
That's a times three, man.
Troy just started drooling.
Oh, boy. Two gonna hits you said i mean i i don't need to now i need to change my position i we we're all gonna die we're all
obviously gonna die uh i i don't know i really don't know uh i'm i'm interested to see how it
all pans out but uh let's let's see it in real time. Let me put those floating corpses on the board.
Oh, yeah.
And, yeah, I'll go ahead and put that sickly green light as well, because those are creatures, too.
And I think that's all you need to know for now.
Oh, my God.
So, please, Dalgrith, do your worst.
Put yourself actually behind her and most likely miss.
Okay.
Now, remind me what bottle caps do again are they
plus you get a plus uh your 12th level plus six to your roll so it still doesn't matter if i roll
a natural one obviously um they are bottle caps are always okay useless in your hands so first
thing that i'm gonna do before that sword plunge actually happens, is I am going to roll a knowledge check on her.
So would this be local?
Is she a giant subtype or just religion for undead?
Either or.
Okay, you can do either.
You can do either.
All right, then I'll do knowledge local for us giants.
The knowledge you gain will be based on what you're rolling.
Okay, so I'd like to get a sense of maybe,
I don't know, how proficient she is with that axe,
and if she, I don't know. But you tell me. I'm like to get a sense of maybe, I don't know, how proficient she is with that axe. And if she, I don't know.
You tell me.
I'm going to do knowledge local because that's my much higher one.
Natural two.
Let's get that out of the way for a freaking 18.
Wish that was the attack.
Yes, you don't know anything.
Okay, I don't know anything.
I think that this combat is going to make you extremely angry
So I'm going to tell you that right out the gate
He said that to me right before we started
We were in the kitchen
I think this is going to be one of those things
That's just a slog
And we're all going to hate it so much
I don't know if it'll be a slog so much
There's just stuff in here
That's just going to
Going to annoy you The Joe O'briens of the world
specifically yes and so i need you to kind of put your best face on i will for the four weeks that
this combat is going to take i will no i i'm i'm going to look at it very very positively um i'm
going to it's the bottle cap or not the bottle cap it's such such an important roll. I can't fumble. I'm going to...
You can't fumble.
I mean, I can't allow a fumble to happen.
I'm so nervous about it.
I'm going to do it.
I'm going to turn it in
on this first opening attack because
I also get bonuses to her if I hit
her with sneak attack damage.
So it's really worth it.
So I'm going to go ahead and
take that stab.
First roll is a...
You only get one roll because it is a surprise round.
Oh, that's right.
So that ends up being a 34 to hit against flat-footed AC.
That is a hit.
Yes!
Yes!
Question.
Is she evil?
She... We're having fun.
She's just misunderstood, Joe.
Chaotic neutral, actually.
Joe had to roll so many dice, he had to hold his dice tray in his hand.
Yeah, I'm holding my dice tray separately.
All right.
So that will end up...
Sorry.
That will end up...
He's dropping dice.
Dealing 32 points of damage.
Okay.
And now, tell me
about this, uh, is it just all
regular damage? Uh,
it, no, it is not. Okay.
Oh, right. Um. You should be
very clear in this combat what type of
damage you're dealing. If you're dealing coal, if you're dealing
fire, if you're dealing negative energy
damage, or. Alright, sorry about that.
Uh, then you should assume, did I say
32 points of damage? you should assume 22 of
it is physical okay and 10 of it is
holy okay and it's all magical it's
magical weapon right yeah yeah it's all
magical right so yeah and it's piercing
if that matters so let me know if that
matters like if that if I get the sense
that no I didn't that didn't look like
it you didn't see there ain't any
problems with the piercing.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay, then...
That's it.
That's surprise round, so that's all he can do.
Let's go into round one here.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no.
It is Baron's turn.
Surprise, surprise.
Baron would like to roll a knowledge check on the elongated corpses next to him to identify them.
Yes, that'd be knowledge religion. 17. I'd like to roll a knowledge check on the elongated corpses next to him to identify them.
Yes.
That'd be knowledge.
Religion.
17.
17.
Let's see.
You don't know anything.
Baron is going to, based off of the other enemies in this dungeon, metagame and actual game, and call down, as a swift action, Bane of Undead onto his Lawbringer.
Ah, okay.
He is going to take a five foot
step away from the hot bench he's
standing right next to.
Is that a judgment Bane?
Bane is just a swift action I have
at this level.
And then he is going to take
a full round attack action
against the elongated corpse closest
to him. Yes, that one just floating there. It looks like
it has a bow in its hand. It's made out of
bone. Oh no!
The first attack is
22 against Touch AC.
22 against Touch AC.
Flat-footed, that is a hit.
Okay, I don't like that you said flat-footed,
but uh...
You didn't. Is it undead for the purposes
of Bane? Uh, it is. Okay, great. No, you didn't. Is it undead for the purposes of Bane?
It is.
Okay, great.
So that is going to be...
It is the floating corpse.
The bonebowl.
I still have that.
26 points of damage.
Okay.
The second attack
is going to also hit.
Okay.
It's going to be a 27 to hit.
Very good.
Okay.
29 points of damage. Nice. Oh, going to be a 27 to hit. Very good. Okay. 29 points of damage.
Oh, yeah. Very nice.
And then the
final attack.
Oh, absolutely. We're talking
about a 27 to hit.
Yeah, that'll do.
The final attack does 31
points of damage. Oh, man.
Great opening round.
Yeah, nice job.
I forgot to mention that one of the reasons I think that Baron's going to go down is because of the risk of misfires.
Like, that's the thing that has been really hurting us lately.
It's like when you have multiple shots.
It's so scary.
We'll see what happens.
And then that is the end of Baron's turn.
Okay.
Baron is standing there.
He's right next to that stone bench that i mentioned uh and you're about oh 5 10 15 20 25 30 about 35 feet away from the dais uh that is 20
feet up those corpses of course were floating which made an easy target for baron it is fay
raz's turn for us to be her last combat. Why would you say that?
I don't know.
Just spitballing.
Feyroza will begin casting.
Ah, she begins casting right next to Pembroke there.
Dalgrith all alone next to Skirkotla.
And it is Skirkotla's turn.
Oh, man!
Just cracked my neck for a second here.
All right, so you are just standing next to her, having stabbed her.
Yeah, I would assume that, yeah, as part of the surprise round, I can't, like, get a grip on her.
You know what I mean?
Right, right.
Oh, I know what you mean.
Okay, I'm thinking full attack.
Just keep it kind of simple.
Yeah, I'm wondering if I just
Should have grabbed her
With the surprise round
Oh dear
I brought out old neon green
I haven't used it
In many weeks
Oh no
Because I don't love
The way that it rolls
In my wormwood
So instead I'm using
Neon green with the old
The old bowl
Circular bowl that I got
From some
GCP Nash
I call it the super though
Friends in
North Carolina.
So just want to make sure here,
because every round is so important.
You don't want to waste a round.
I know.
I made a huge mistake.
I mean, it's not good.
It was pretty cool story-wise.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It would also really set the tone
if he got that hit in and she turned also really set the tone if like he got
that hit in and she turned around and killed him in one round you guys would all know okay all right
okay this is what we're doing all righty then uh all right so she's gonna go ahead and do a full
round attack oh my god i'm so sorry joe yeah um and let's just you know let's just see what happens
yeah oh boy this is not gonna be good i'm glad you had defensive training's just you know let's Just see what happens yeah oh boy this
Is not gonna be good I'm glad you had
Defensive training hopefully well you
Know what hey hey this is also the
Initiative role like that role lose if I
Die that role loses me the whole my life
You know that natural for is so important
Huge I'd be on her right now otherwise
Here we go First attack
Subtract two to your two hit
Because
Befuddling strike
Since I confirmed a sneak attack against her
She has a minus two to hit against me for three rounds
Oh, okay
He rolled the die
Yeah, it's a 1d4 rounds
I rolled a three
Okay, just keep me honest on that
Here we go
Minus two
Okay
That is going to be a 37
to hit. Yeah, that's a hit.
Okay.
Sorry, it was a very low roll.
Sorry, he apologized.
That's going to be 25 points of
damage plus
13 points of fire damage
from the axe. What is it? Cold fire? It just hits you and damage from the axe.
What is it, cold fire?
It hits you and something in the axe channels fire at you as well.
Oh no.
Let's see.
I think that's all on that first hit.
Is that all?
Okay, second attack.
Remember all your months.
All right, that is going to be a 31 to hit.
That is a hit.
That is a hit.
Because I'm not on her.
I have to be on her to get that AC boost.
What is your AC?
26.
Okay.
When I'm not on her.
Oh, damn.
Okay.
Don't forget your DR and your...
Oh, I didn't.
26 points of regular damage.
Okay. Plus
another
12 points of
fire damage.
And that's it. I rolled extremely low.
Just two big swings
with the axe. However, she will take a
five foot step off the throne.
Still standing on the dais
and still not super
visible to the casters and the gunslinger
who are 20 feet below and far down.
And that is Skirkotla's turn.
It is now Pembroke's turn.
Pembroke!
All right, Pembroke.
Well, first I want to do...
I was going to say something first.
Lady, you say we did not announce ourselves.
Well, we did.
The only way we knew how.
By killing all of your people.
I'm going to do a knowledge...
I'm going to do a knowledge...
Can I do a knowledge religion on her to see what I can figure anything out.
21.
21.
That's not high enough to know any knowledge on her.
I'm going to do a knowledge spellcraft.
Knowledge credenza.
On her axe.
Ah, okay.
Or spellcraft, not knowledge spellcraft.
27.
27.
Okay.
It is...
That knowledge, does that give you...
27, that would give you one of the qualities.
Do you want to know one of its special abilities?
Yeah.
All right, pick a one or a two.
One. It is keen. Oh, Yeah. Alright, pick a one or a two. One. It is
Keen. Oh no.
Oh no. Just increasing that
range. Poopy!
Oh no!
Run!
Okay. Run!
Dalgryth, get out of there!
Oh no! It's a great axe
you said? A battle axe. A battle axe.
The old battle axe. So
now Pembroke is going to let his staff drop to the floor.
And with his free hands, he is going to pull one of Baron's alchemical cartridges from his belt pouch.
Yes.
And he's going to hold it up to his face and whisper,
Scarecrow.
And casting greater named bullets.
I don't even know what this does.
And hold it out.
I don't think I can throw it to you yet, Baron.
Just hold it out.
Just holding it out.
Wow.
Okay.
That is what Pembroke does.
People are furiously flying to the internet now.
What does that spell do if they haven't done it the second that he mentioned that spell?
It is Dalgrith's actual turn.
Dalgrith is...
Did that hurt you at all?
Or did the stone skin do...
The stone skin protected 20 points of that damage, but I took 50.
I still took 50 points of damage in the round.
Oh, man.
So, yeah, it's brutal.
More than 50.
56 points of damage he took that round.
So, yeah, it's awful.
He is going to...
It's just round one.
It's just round one.
Dahlgraith is not going to mince words.
He's just going to move fast and try to get on Skirkatla.
So, what he's going to do.
Yeah, she explicitly asked you not to do that.
Yep.
He's going to try to.
So he's going to, I guess, cross this throne.
I'm just trying to figure out how the air walk is going to work with this.
Basically, he runs through the air.
Okay.
And he's going to go to jump on her and grab her.
And as he does it, he seems to split in two.
So, like, he runs at her and, like, part of him is just standing there in front of her.
And another one comes at her.
Okay.
So it's very distracting and confusing.
I gotcha.
So there are two Dalgrids.
And confusing I gotcha
So there are
Two
Dog rates
And the one
That is real
Is gonna try to do
A climb check
Against her CMD
Okay
To see if he can
Get
On her
Okay
Something I forgot
To mention
Yes
Or I forgot to
Enforce
In your first
Attack
Yeah
But that's
Blur
The blur
She has a blur
On her Okay It's too late Hands off the chess piece But just keep in mind 20% Yeah I was wondering Why you didn't say anything In your first attack Yeah But that's Blur The blur She has a blur on her
Okay
It's too late
Hands off the chess piece
But just keep in mind
20%
Yeah I was wondering
Why you didn't say anything
And I was like
I wonder if it's
If you're close enough
You can see it
Yeah
It's blur
20% missed chance
Okay so
I'm just gonna do this
This climb check
Oh come on
Oh no
Come on man
Son of a
Oh no
Okay that is a 35.
35 against straight-up CMD?
Against straight-up CMD.
Let me see what this little asterisk is here.
If Joe does it, I get a plus four to a CMD.
Yeah, no, you're okay.
You can do it.
Beautiful.
Good, good.
Thank goodness.
Okay, so he latch, you're okay. Oh, beautiful. Good, good. Thank goodness. Ooh, uh, okay.
So he latches on.
Okay.
And he is going to stab her.
Okay.
With flanking.
Since he is sort of jumping on and grabbing her in the back,
the illusion in front of her creates the illusion of two opponents.
Right.
So she is...
What is that ability called?
Uh, it's the, it's in the armor. It's called Expeditious Armor.
So three times a day, I enact it as part of a move action.
Any square I occupy during the movement, I can leave a figment in and then continue the
move.
So that five foot step up was enough to be able to create this, give you flanking, you
successfully climb, which gives you a boost to your AC.
Right.
And okay.
And I just grab onto her and then I just try to do another stab with the short sword.
Okay.
Let's see.
Another garbage roll
for a total of 26.
Roll a 20% mischance.
Oh, right, right, right.
Okay.
20% mischance.
73.
All right, still a miss.
Still a miss.
Still a miss, yes.
Yeah, okay, cool. Great, thank you. That's good? 73 Alright still a miss Still a miss Still a miss Yes Um Yeah okay cool
Great
Thank you
That's good
Yeah uh yeah
That's all I got
But I'm on her now
So that's
Good
That's helpful
I don't know what these corpses are gonna do
But it's helpful against her full attack action
I can say that much
Thank you for your turn
Um
Okay
Can you make another Dalgrith real quick
Uh yeah
Just copy paste
And where do you want me to put him?
Just behind her?
Just put him, I'll control him.
Right there.
Yeah, perfect.
Great.
The creature that Baron attacked.
That wasn't very nice, Baron.
No.
I wasn't trying to be nice.
Okay.
What do we want to do here?
That's not really that good.
Oh, actually, that's really good.
I hate when he does this.
Oh, boy.
You don't get any bonuses against...
It's like he's ordering at a kiosk at a Wendy's.
Yeah, no, this is going to be good.
Okay, so it is going to
use rapid
shot to take
some attacks
at you with its bow.
Okay.
You are making a ranged attack
against me, good sir? I am.
I am going to enact Gunslinger's Dodge
We haven't seen this since
It's been a long time
The Childish Devil
I'm going, which is going to make me spend one move
One grit point to move five feet in any direction
Which is going to place me one square closer to Pembroke
Yes, beautiful, good thinking
I am going to get a plus two bonus to AC against the triggering attack.
So I believe with the verbiage of triggering attack, it will only be the first if it's a rabbit shot.
Okay.
Then here is that first attack.
Yes!
Oh, no. Yes! No. Oh. All right. Yes Oh no
Yes
No
Oh
Alright
Well you've got a very high AC
So I don't want to get
Too
Too excited
But that is going to be
At least a 38 to hit
Yes that's a hit
A couple things are going to happen
Oh sorry
Marisha's just going to take
Seven points
Excuse me Seven A couple things are going to happen. First, you're just going to take seven points.
Excuse me.
Eight, nine.
Ten points of damage.
No points of damage.
Stone skin.
Okay.
Then you're going to take three points of negative energy damage.
And then I need you to roll a fortitude save.
Oh, no.
Oh, no. What if it's roll a fortitude save. Oh no. Oh no.
What if it's level drain in arrows?
Oh no.
That would be very, very bad.
The dice flying.
Okay.
That was a good roll.
Of course it was.
It was a 14 on the die for a total of a 28.
28.
Everything seems fair. Oh no.
Bear, bear.
Okay.
Get loose. Get loose. Second attack attack is Straight up 30 to hit
That is a hit
That is a hit that is going to be
Hold on a second you're prone?
I'm not prone I just did a 5 foot step
I would have had a drop in place if I had gone prone
And that would have had me safe
But I wouldn't have been right next to Pembroke to grab it
Gotcha
8 points of damage Nothing it Eight points of damage
Nothing
No points of damage
Let me subtract that from my stone skin
And four points of negative energy damage
I don't know if that cuts through stone skin
Or not you guys
Yeah it does yeah it's just DR so it's energy
Okay
Third attack
Rocks over here.
Another 30 to hit.
Okay.
So that is 10 points of regular damage.
Okay.
And five points of negative energy damage.
Chip, chip, chipping away.
Chip, chip, chipperoo.
And then the final attack.
This one is probably a miss
19
That's a miss
That was the first one
The second one
On the other side of her
Flies over closer to where
Baron, Feyraza and Pembroke
Are standing
And you see it's got this face
Kind of like the ghosts in the courtroom
scene in Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters 2? Yeah.
And so he just lets out this
dreadful howl.
Just like...
All three
are all a will save.
No! Please,
Baron. Please.
22 from Baron.
Pembroke?
24.
Feyraza?
17.
Oh, no!
Feyraza, you are paralyzed with fear.
Oh, no!
For one round.
Wow.
Baron and Pembroke are shaken.
Oh, what?
Verily, I am shook.
Not sure.
Oh, my God. So that Verily, I am shook. Not scared. Oh, my goodness.
So that probably interrupts my spell, right?
Absolutely.
Do I have to roll concentration, or is it just automatically interrupted?
You know, that's really interesting.
Obviously, if you take damage while casting is one thing, but paralyzed while casting?
Yes.
Of course.
Yeah.
You're paralyzed.
You can take no actions except purely mental action.
You are now helpless.
So I think it's fair to say you lose the spell.
That's so brutal.
I'm sure it wasn't your best spell that you had prepared for the boss fight, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Matthew, I'd love to continue talking, but I've got seven more creatures that have to attack.
So let's talk about these greenish flames to the left and right.
I thought they were decorations.
They are certainly not.
You now see as they're coming in and out of view that they have like a shape to them.
They almost look like the bodies of like a specter of a beautiful young woman floating off the ground,
bathed in these sickly green flames.
And they're going to do... Do they look like Zoe Saldana from Guardians of the Galaxy?
They're both played by Zoe Saldana.
Perfect. Green is perfect.
Oh, no.
All right.
So they are going to first things first.
Oh, I just, I want to throw up.
There's just so much going on here.
Okay, let me check the range
of this.
The first one, the one
that is closest to the corpse
that Baron lit up, which is now
the farther away corpse as the other one
flew to get closer
to the group.
That one goes to fire a just a touch ray at Baron.
And just to confirm, I can see around the fog of war on the map.
Yeah, that's just a poor reveal of my fog of war. Don't forget, this thing is 20 feet up looking down at you so they can see you.
You can't see it.
Got it. This is going
to be a
ranged touch attack
against Baron.
That is a 22 against touch. That's a hit.
Oh, boy.
Talk about a couple
things going to happen here.
First, let me get 8d6
fire damage ready. Does that cut
through stones again? Oh, dear. Some of it will. 8d6 fire damage ready. Does that cut through stones again? Oh, dear.
Some of it will.
8d6.
Unless you roll ones on everything.
No, all of it does.
All of it goes through, yeah.
Not great rolls.
I saw a lot of ones, so.
Okay.
18 points of fire damage.
It all goes through.
Yeah, I rolled four ones.
Wow.
Yeah, that rolled four ones. Wow. Hot.
Wow.
Yeah, that's eight.
Sounds like a little barrel up to me.
But now I need you to roll a will save.
30.
Oh, yeah.
19 on the die.
Okay, so.
Is it a spell or spell-like ability or a poison?
Because I'd be better there, too.
No, you seem to be fine.
All right.
By that.
Grant, I gotta hand it to you.
I gotta hand it to you.
This is a new set of die.
I want to thank, I forget his name now,
but someone at the Dallas show gave me these cowboy die
and I'm pulling them out today for one last ride.
Gonna get them, cowboy.
All right.
All right.
Baron's last ride. Check perfect. That's what I wanted to see. Oh yeah them, cowboy. All right. All right. Baron's last ride.
Check perfect.
That's what I wanted to see.
Oh, yeah, that'll work just fine.
So the other one,
you know what?
I don't like Dalgrith up there at all.
Got to protect the queen, don't you?
Oh, no.
We'll let the other ones deal with Dalgrith.
This one is going to come around and fire a Ray touch attack at Feyraza, for example.
Let's dump out those 86.
And that is going to be 28 against touch.
Because I'm paralyzed, my touch AC is currently six.
Oh, no.
Oh, sweet Jesus.
That's really low.
You did not fare as well as Varen
Because of course you didn't
Oh god
12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20
25
28, 29 points of
Magical fire damage
Oh no
I liked 18 a lot more
And then go ahead and roll a will save.
32.
32.
There we go.
That seems to be just fine.
That's a purely mental action.
Okay.
Willing away your advances.
Yeah.
Okay.
Your evil advances.
Behind Pembroke and Feyraza, two will-o-wisps.
Oh, come on.
Oh, jeez.
Oh, my God.
The Will-O-Wisp, the first Will-O-Wisp attacks Feyraza with, you know, just a shock touch attack.
That is a 28 against touch.
Again, it's a six.
Six to hit.
Just checking.
All right, only six points of electricity damage.
Let me just check something here.
That all goes through.
And then now the other one, to try and touch Pembroke, there's still a lot.
How does that work where you have mirror image?
You just make an attack roll and then roll a D5.
D5.
Yeah.
Okay, so this is a 23 against touch.
Okay, so that hits.
All right, so now there are five images, but there's you as well, right?
So if you roll like a nine or a ten, say, like it would hit me on ten-sided die.
Okay.
Oh, that was a d8, sorry.
Nine or a ten hits Pembroke.
Six destroys one of the images.
Four images.
Wow. hits Pembroke six destroys one of the four images wow
and then in front of
Baron two more willow
wisps appear but those
are summoned creatures so
they cannot hurt you
nice
but they do
they do stand right in
front of you which
presents a an odd
situation for you so
right now Dalgrith
Excuse me
Dalgrith is up on top of Skirkotla
Pembroke, Feyraza and Baron
Are surrounded by four will-o-wisps
They've barely even gotten in the door
Barely even gotten in the door
And the will-o-wisps were just there
They're just summoning creatures
That are always kind of there
They were invisible and just appeared
Yeah
So again it's pretty clear
Skirkotla knew you were coming,
and they were prepared.
We're also really far apart from each other.
Really far apart.
Well, that was Dalgrith being bold.
60 feet apart from each other right now.
It is round two!
Oh, God.
And it is Baron's turn.
Baron looks around and sees he's well at rest,
feels safe for a moment,
and he shouts out to Pembroke,
Pembroke, take a quick step next to me and drop the bullet by my feet.
You can choose to do that or not.
Okay.
But that's probably the...
He held it out to you.
I know.
I'm not going to waste a...
Would that be a move action to grab it or a standard action?
Yeah, it'd be a move action.
Yeah.
I mean, that would be your whole turn, right?
No, no no because you
can free load it right well yes but it's not not it's not alchemical cartridge right it is
okay so so grab it load it fire or don't hold on does it it does not count as a five foot step it
would be an actual move action right move equivalent right to grab it
yeah yeah i just but i just don't understand what there are full round attack actions i would like
to do with that right but then you can grab it and not fire at this round all right so i mean
he sets it on the ground next to you you still need to spend a move action to grab it anyway
yeah all right so baron will then rescind what he said i don't know what I'm thinking. I'm so scared. Never mind. I'm so scared. I'm very shaken.
I peed down my pants.
Baron is going to spend the move action to grab the
alchemical cartridge from
Pembroke, and then he's going to continue
firing away at the creature
that he was previously attacking.
And he's going to get...
Oh, wait. Hold on. Ooh, careful with this.
I just want to make sure... How much grit zone are you sitting on? I got get... Oh, wait. Hold on. Ooh, careful with this. I just want to make sure...
How much grit zone are you sitting on?
I got enough grit zone, dog.
I just shoot down.
It's grit zone, dog.
All right.
Up close and deadly works still because it's tied to the range of my weapon.
So I'm going to spend a Gritsoni to attack this guy.
So let's see if I hit first.
All right, so now the Will-O-Whisperer in front of you, obviously they'll take their attack of opportunity,
but they can't hit you because of protection from evil, so you're fine.
But this guy will get a little bonus to his A-Sizzle.
Floating through air, though? Does that matter?
They're standing right next to you, and you're just a little fellow.
And I can't really five-foot step anywhere to get out of it.
So I'm going to do it.
Yeah.
They boxed you in.
22 against touch AC.
Against touch.
22.
What do they get to bonus for their AC?
Plus two or plus four?
Oh, and it's because I put an undead bane on it.
It's 24.
So they get plus two, they get plus four standard, plus two if you think he can see more than half of the creature.
Which he can.
All right, so plus two, but you're saying 24 because of Bane Undead.
I believe so.
Yeah, it's plus two to hit for Bane Undead.
Yes.
You're all right.
Oh, yes!
That is a hit.
A hit zoney.
The sound of that many dice hitting its trays.
Music to my ears.
That's the best.
36 points.
Oh, yeah.
Very good.
All right.
So one down.
No.
Damn it.
Okay.
All right.
Well, it's weekend.
I think we can take it out pretty quickly
I would have been able to
But I'm paralyzed
But you're paralyzed
Paralyzed with fear, no less
It is Feyraza's turn
What's going on in your head?
Do you think your time is up?
It's a combination between ow and terror
It's just like pure terror
Abject terror
You were the chosen one You were the chosen one!
You were the chosen one!
Point of order.
Why are you just standing there drooling like an infant?
I was never the chosen one.
Point of order two.
For those, I think I got shaken by something.
Am I no longer shaken?
You're shaken for one round.
You and Pembroke are shaken for passing on that howl that paralyzed.
Magic Pembroke, that paralyzed, drops the magic bullet.
Oh, no.
Down the drain.
There's a drain right there.
There's a drain.
Or Will-O-Wisp just comes and like, see ya.
It's like, hey, I need that.
Come out of that.
That's my greater named bullet.
Please.
Okay, but so am I.
So no law and order around here?
I continue to be paralyzed
until that creature's next turn.
Until that creature's next turn, right?
Yeah, for this round.
Is it...
No, like when that creature
begins its next turn,
I would stop being paralyzed, right?
No, you're not being paralyzed
at the end of your turn, right?
Yeah.
Great.
Yeah, you're paralyzed.
Well, it depends on how you want to do it. It can be the round or it can be the end of her next round which is i
think usually that's when it's one round so if it's it wouldn't be all around too because that
would be around it's one round yeah so the one round so it ends your paralyzation ends at the
end of its turn okay yeah because that would be a full uh round great but it's not like you'd be
like all right i'll take my accident no i for, for purposes of AC. Sure, sure, sure.
It is Skirkotla's turn.
I do not like you on my back.
Get off my back. Same I am.
Get off my back!
Skirkotla, where are you?
You're like on her back.
Yes, I'm on her back and then there's another me right
in front of her and she doesn't know which is which.
There's no way for her to tell. Oh, really?
Yeah, she can feel me on her back but I look like I'm also in front of her and she doesn't know which is which like there's no way for her to tell oh really yeah she can feel me on her back but i look like i'm also in front of her so in
terms of the uh mechanics of the game how does that work does she have to roll uh to try and
hit you you talk to me don't just make it up because i know you'll be like well i think the
way it should work here's how we should do it no that's how you normally do it uh you know i think
there probably is a rule honestly that i don't know about, like, figments or glamours in general.
I don't know which one this is.
I think it's a figment.
But either way, you can just decide.
You play it how you want to play it, but it does have an AC, and if you hit it, it dispels it.
Right.
So that's basically what it is.
It looks just like another me.
Dispels it Right
So that's
That's basically what it is
It looks just like
Another me
There's no save
On the listed ability
For
To disbelieve it
Or anything like that
It's just there
And if you hit it
You destroy it
Okay
She is going to
I'm gonna take a swing
At you buddy
I'm gonna take two more
Swings at you
She's like
Don't.
So you're metagaming.
No, she felt a dagger in her neck.
So she's going to swing in the direction of the dagger in her neck.
I missed.
You missed?
She felt it gently scrape against her arm.
I was bad last round.
Trying to make that work in my favor.
No, I missed.
I missed.
I'm harmless.
Sheesh.
Please don't hit me.
I missed you last round.
Just last round, I missed. It's only fair'm harmless. Sheesh. Please don't hit me. I missed you last round. Just last round, I missed.
It's only fair.
Look at the other me.
He looks so real.
The other me.
35 to hit.
That's your total to hit, right?
Yes.
That is a miss.
That's minus eight.
Oh, I'm sorry.
So it's minus eight.
I have to add a couple of bonuses.
Let me give you the full amount. I keep forgetting I have to add a couple of bonuses Let me give you the full amount
I keep forgetting I have all these fun little bonuses
So much fun
It's actually a 37 to hit
Minus 2
What's the minus 2?
Joe's Spectra, what was that thing called?
My roll is a 37
With all my bonuses
That is a hit.
It is.
Yeah, because it's minus two, minus six.
So it gets adjusted to 29, but that still hits.
I'm glad I put Power Attack on.
I was nervous.
Oh, no.
I didn't do it the first round, but I did it this round.
All right, so let's start off with just 30 points of damage to start.
Oh, my God.
And then we'll do some fire damage with this feature of her class.
Three, four, five, six, seven points of fire damage.
Okay.
And then the second attack.
If I crit you, it's goodnight, Irene.
I'm not worried about it in the least.
Who's Irene?
That is a 29. That's a miss. Nice. Okay. It's minus eight about it in the least. Who's Irene? That is a 29.
That's a miss. Nice.
It's minus 8, so it's 21. Sorry, sorry.
Again, I... Yep, no, 29.
Straight up. So that is a miss. It's just a
21. Wow.
It is so hard to miss, but hey, power attack.
Power attack. It hurt
really bad. I'm one round away from
unconscious and dying. Oh my god.
Oh man. See ya. That's not and dying. Oh, man. See ya!
That's not good news.
Oh, you're dead.
It's a fitting end. An epic chamber.
Good place to go down.
It is Pembroke's turn. Maybe
the Professor can save you.
Okay.
Pembroke has a
swift action. He's holding the metamagic rod, as I established that he always does when he's expecting to go into a situation in combat.
Thank you, listeners.
And he is going to fire off a magic missile at the closest undead creature.
Classic spell.
That floating corpse with the bone bow.
Bone bow.
And that's 22 points of damage, force damage.
22 points of force?
On that thing.
Force.
And then with a move action.
The force is strong with this one.
With a move action, he's going to bend his creaking old bones over and pick up his staff.
Okay.
And then as he says, my old friend, I missed you.
Never let us be parted again.
And with a standard action, he casts Chain Lightning.
And that will hit everyone.
That will hit all the enemies.
All the enemies.
That is, everyone has to make a DC 23 reflex save.
Question, does it have to hit one to start the chain, or it just hits all of them?
No, it just hits all of them.
All right.
Let's start, because there's, including the will-o'-wisps.
Yeah, but they're immune to magic, so it doesn't matter.
That's right.
Okay.
So let's start with the creature you just attacked, that first floating corpse.
What's the reflex save?
23.
23.
Fail.
Beautiful.
Great.
Let's just remember. Remember who failed and who passed.
Yep, no problem.
And we know who to give damage to.
The one in the back there made it.
30.
Failed.
No, I remember each one.
Now the two green things.
The one that's closest to you, the green specter.
They're so awful.
Fail.
Yes. The fourth one. Yes. The one in the back, you, the green specter. Oh, God, they're so awful. Fail, the fourth one.
Yes, yes.
The one in the back, 21.
That's a fail.
That's a fail.
All right, so both of them failed.
Great.
And then Skirkotlai needs you to roll spell resistance.
Yes, okay.
Come on, you are a potent costume.
24.
Okay, let's roll reflex.
And it is a 25 reflex
Okay, so that she passed
She passed
So that did get through though
That did beat her spell resistance
Good, that's great
Awesome
Alright, so is it one damage for everybody?
Yes
Okay
And a 12d6
I rolled 54 points of damage
Oh my god
54 points of damage. Oh my god!
54 points of damage. Yes. Anyone who's saved gets
27. So the only ones that saved were Skirkotla
and the guy that Baron was shooting up.
Okay.
I'm taking the 54s
away here. Would you say 27
for... Yes.
For those who saved, yes.
This is so...
Amazing! The room is filled like a Tesla coil is set off. For those who say yes This is so Amazing
The room is filled like a Tesla coil
Is set off like this
Air is filled with the smell of ozone
And flashes of lightning
All everywhere streaming out
Spidering out from Pembroke's
Aged hams
And the creature that Baron fired at died
Yes
One down
Alright huge Oh enormously huge And the creature that Baron fired at died. Yes! One down. All right.
Huge.
Oh, enormously huge.
Dahlgat is just trying to keep Skirkala away for enough rounds.
You get these guys down, then, oh, man.
Name me a bullet.
Okay, so the one that died is the one that saved, but he was already down.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, the one that's closest to you didn't save.
Correct.
Yeah, okay, so that one took the full brunt of the
54 and had to get a magic missile,
right? Yeah, I have to get a magic missile.
That was a hell of a round. You have more.
No, that's it. That's it.
That's plenty. That's it. I have more
than enough. Are you not
entertained?
It is Dalgrit's turn.
Perhaps his
last. Yes, perhaps his last turn.
Okay, he is now in position, and she did not take out his image,
so he's good for a full attack action here.
Okay, okay.
So, come on, Dalgrith.
Here we go.
First attempt at a stab.
I'd be disappointed.
Is a 30.
That is a miss. Oh, golly. attempt at a stab. I'd be disappointed. Is a 30. That is a miss.
Oh, golly.
30's a miss?
30's a miss.
Barron's grunt just started sweating.
A hush falls among the table as Joe sees if he can mechanically hit this creature.
Or if Dalgrith will perish yeah he's he's done he's leaving that's it i'm done with this one swing became very clear that he cannot hit her um okay oh geez the thing is like still have a move Okay. Wow. Oh, geez.
The thing is, like, still have a move action.
I do.
If I don't use it and I stab one more time, which is pointless, I will die next turn.
But you could provoke escaping.
Right.
Yeah, I'd rather take the risk on one hit escaping.
Yeah.
You have a crossbow, right? I do. Yeah, I'd rather take the risk on one hit escaping. Yeah. You have a crossbow, right?
I do.
Yeah.
Oh, that is incredible.
Incredible.
Yeah, I don't see any way around it.
And she's blurred, too, still.
Yeah.
So...
And that blurred is a 20% misuse?
20%.
20%.
Holy shit.
And the other ones, I mean, there's like two, yeah, they're all ghostly and none of them are giants, right?
Besides her.
She's the only giant.
Just her, yeah.
And you are the giant slayer.
I was.
I was the giant slayer.
You're going to be the giant slayed.
The giant slayed.
Dalgrith the giant sl slain I will defile
the death brought yeah
ah screw it I'm just gonna stay and
bang yeah I'm just gonna keep her one
more round there I mean that's all I can
do with my life I leave her like I can't
do anything else I'll be out of position
and she can just close on anybody else
and do whatever else she wants.
A lot could happen between...
So you're going to swing again?
Try for that crit?
Yeah, I'm just going to try to...
I mean, I can't crit either.
I could hit her with a natural 20.
Why would that crit?
I can't...
Confirming it would be close to impossible.
Problem, man.
But maybe another natural 20 in a row, bro!
You know what?
A lot can happen between the end of your turn and the beginning of her next turn.
That's true.
That is true.
Oh, I was incorrect.
It was a 32.
It was a 32 because of Bane.
Oh.
It's, oh, wait a minute.
No, it's not.
It's not 32 because it's not Bane.
Okay.
I wasn't going to let you do it anyway.
It's holy.
It's been five minutes since that roll hit the dot.
Just swing again. see what happens joe
say a little prayer to desna maybe just maybe just maybe i'll get lucky something great will happen
miss miss uh it was uh 26 26 on the second one your Did you do a five-foot step, anything? No, because staying on her is my best chance to not be hit.
So, yeah, trying to get away from her.
I mean, even provoking the AOA, basically, it's a guaranteed hit unless she fumbles.
Right.
So, yeah, brutal.
It is the Flying Corpse's turn.
Flying Corpse.
At the end of its turn,
Feyraza will no longer be paralyzed.
However, right now,
she is,
and he will fire at
Feyraza
from above,
down,
on you.
Beautiful clear shot.
Let me make sure
he doesn't take the minus four
to attack. He does not take the minus four to attack.
He does not take the minus four for shooting into melee.
Here comes four attacks, Feyraza.
And let me see where you are here.
I don't ever get to play ranged characters.
I don't get to play them that often, I believe.
It's flying, so let me roll.
I'm going to take a five-foot step.
Yeah, that's fine.
A five-foot fly step and turn on point-blank shot here.
Oh, boy.
All right.
First attack.
This is bad news there.
Against Feyraza is a 33 to hit.
That'll do it.
Just like Maren, a couple things are going to hit. That'll do it. Just like Maren,
a couple things
are going to happen.
That is
six points of damage,
excuse me,
six,
seven,
eight,
nine points of damage.
Zero points of damage.
Okay.
And then I need you
to roll
a Fortitude save.
Fortitude, you say?
In the meantime, take one point of negative energy damage.
That's an 18 on the fortitude save.
DC 19.
Oh, come on.
Oh, my God, Feyraza.
You're paralyzed for another three rounds.
Oh, no.
Jesus.
And we'll see you next week. Oh my god!
For the
thrilling conclusion to the
Scarecrow fight.
