Of all the gin joints in all the world.
Of all the iron cages and giant encampments outside of volcanoes.
In all the world.
Had to be you.
To win the day.
He's back, everybody.
He's back.
I know, like, I said people need more reason to love Nesta so much.
For Christ's sake.
But even that may not be enough.
And I want you giants of Ash Peak to bear witness as I, Skirkutler, queen of the Skirkutling tribe and ruler of Scarecrow,
destroy these woeful wretches
who, like so many others, choose to stand in the way of the inevitable.
The adventure continues.
I hope Matthew thinks of something.
I'm going out for a burger.
No. Hey everybody, welcome to episode 243 of the Glass Cannon Podcast.
I'm Skid Marr.
You know, our DC show is this week, and I am so excited.
As a huge fan of the movie DC Cab, starring Bill Maher and Mr. T,
I just can't wait to see where that movie was set.
But we still have some tickets left.
We got bigger venues this year,
so we have some tickets left for that show.
And after all, there's nothing else going on in Washington, D.C.
here in late January 2020,
so come on down, nerd out with us for a little bit,
pick up a souvenir pen.
The video for The Philly Show is also up on our YouTube channel,
so make sure you watch
that to get caught up for the thrilling beginning of the DC show.
And last week we announced three stops of the tour after Milwaukee and Chicago.
We are coming to Portland, Seattle, and Columbus, Ohio for the first time ever.
Those tickets are already on pre-sale, so head on over to our website and pick up tickets.
Those shows will sell out
giant slayer is nuts right now i know i am partially responsible
but it is insane so i won't keep you a second more here is episode 243
it is good to be back with the glass kid pack.
Did you just have a stroke?
Don't you agree?
I agree.
I wholeheartedly agree.
Right?
I am so psyched for this session.
I can't even tell you.
You were really fired up when we finished last week's.
Yeah.
I mean, and it got, as the week went on it got it was like a like a fine wine
it just it just aged so well i drank the bottle by yourself yes exactly i just got so excited
for a session where like there's nothing i can do you know it's like there's nothing i can do
i just have to kind of see what happens so I don't spend the whole week like this whole, the previous episode with Baron teetering on the edge.
You spend the whole time going through like a million scenarios, you know?
And in this case, I'm just like, I've never felt more powerless.
I don't know about you guys.
I've never felt more powerless as a player ever.
Now, I'm not a sorcerer.
So as a sorcerer, I'm sure, Matthew, was your mind working all week?
Oh, I've got several plans. Right, exactly'm just like uh hope matthew thinks of something
i'm going out for a burger like that was that was my week well i felt bad because i spent
several hours loading sad songs into my dropboard yes anticipation of baron dying and now i can't
even use it to answer your question the night's still young. I felt more hopeless last week.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Far more.
And I've...
I'm in the arms of an angel.
He's not an abused head.
I'm going to use it.
Yeah.
It might still happen.
I might use it again,
but I wanted to at least use it now.
Rare was that when Barry Connick Jr. died.
He didn't earn it.
Come on, man.
Barry!
If only he hadn't stayed all those times.
You know, it was a couple days before we recorded last week's episode.
I think we were recording Androids and Aliens,
and you were like, we've got to talk,
because we had recorded 24 241 uh a while ago and uh i was radio silent with you and i was like i don't
worry about it and then you just went off and then you wrote that beautiful scene i knew you were
moving so i was like i've been getting like some episodes a little bit later than i normally would
which is fine i'm not complaining now but like i was like i was like calling you out on the air passive aggressive by the way just not to cut you off but can you send me those episodes a little bit later than i normally would which is fine i'm not complaining now but like i was like i was like calling you out on the air passive aggressive by the way just not to cut
you off but can you send me those episodes a little earlier continue story and uh
i was i was just uh i was walking in a daze uh i mean anything could still happen obviously this episode it seems like
we have some awful and a rogues gallery of people that want to kill us um but it was just coming to
terms with five years of my life and let's be honest here this is a game we play this is five
years of my life i remember how drunk you got on the air when a certain other character died well that's
that i can't imagine what i've been like this time oh yeah that was my first one i think i i
think i'd handle it better wait that's your first time a character has died i mean uh uh norfoss
orfoss nor kim it's true yeah but you didn't have that kind of attachment i was very attached to him
but uh he also volunteered him for death was
it because he didn't know he's gonna die awesome yeah i love them he was gonna be the blood
ranger so cool but that's like that's like on like baywatch well like and they literally did
this it's like one week they're just uh uh david hasselhoff they're just like hey so how's that
new relationship you're in it's like oh pretty good we've never seen her before it's like i
think i'm gonna ask her to marry me it's like oh great and then it's like
she has cancer and she she dies at the end of the episode and we're supposed to care because we've
never seen this person before that was what orfest was yeah i'm sure she was amazing and i'm sorry
she she passed away but i've never met her before they literally did that on an episode you can look it up
i just always think of in those situations of the walker texas ranger episode where hayley
joe osmond just it's like walker told me i've aids just out of nowhere classic conan used to
play that clip all the time uh google that it's it's really out of place and their reactions to him it's horrible
um orfos by the way uh helped kill lork yes the ghost of orfos helped kill lork you sure did
really came full circle uh yeah i mean that was just that was a wild wild episode if you went
into that week's episode i kept thinking because i tried to put myself in the mind of the listener
like you're expecting that's a dragon fight maybe baron's gonna die maybe troy's gonna
go soft and make no mistake i even told you guys after we went off the air had you chosen to fight
i'm killing baron and then the next two attacks are on yeah for anybody for anybody that was under
the impression that like we were all doing a play acting episode where we knew that this was going
to happen like i was completely baffled by all this and uh and as soon as that opportunity came up to surrender i jumped i just
knew i didn't think twice like baron would die right and i i even you know if we're willing to
sacrifice up the odds that the rest of us would also die were quite high so yeah i had a plan to save us you did i think it was a pretty
good plan i feel i feel i still think uh an invisible old magma dragon would have even if
your plan worked uh taken out one to two more of you oh i mean baron would have been even even if
so if i had enacted my plan baron would have been dead i mean yeah no way to no way to stop that
yeah but say what your plan is do you want to say what it is?
Sure.
I mean, I was going to basically delay, after the dragon finished, I was going to delay
let everyone else get in a circle while they were actually holding their fucking hands
and dick.
Right, well, per the text.
And then I was going to fly in and plane shift us in the room, still in the room, on the
ethereal plane.
It's a cool plan.
Where we could have healed and, you know.
And we could argue back, well, you're not in the room.
But I mean, to me, that is a great way to loophole my dominate on you.
Is plane shift like you can just stand in the other plane for as long as you want
and then just come back when you want?
No, you'd have to cast plane shift again to get back.
But you were going to go there, heal up, and then have a second round and try and kill her.
Yeah, I mean, we'd actually, I think, yeah, we'd have to stay overnight on the ethereal plane.
You have to wait for the spell to expire, the dominate person to expire.
That too, but I only get one use of plane shift per day.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
It was a real risk.
The really great thing about that thing that didn't happen but that matthew just explained
is it's the same way i feel about when dalgryth like dodged all those uh dragon's breaths attack
with evasion like so heroic so epic so amazing to outsmart an old magma dragon is that what you
just said it was it was it elder it's an old he said old it's just said? Was it? Was it elder? It's an old. He said old. It's just old? So does it go young, regular, old?
Is there any?
Young adult.
Young, mature.
Oh, it's adult.
Or young adult, mature, old, I think.
I'm not 100% sure.
It feels like the kid section of Barnes and Noble.
Wow.
I prefer the mature.
That's where the Animorphs are.
No, there's ancient.
Ancient, yeah.
Yeah.
There are worse than old. Yeah, there's very old There's... Ancient, yeah. Yeah. There are worse than old.
Yeah, there's very old and ancient.
Wow.
Sickly.
So that was an old dragon?
That was an old...
That shows you how little I know about dragons.
I'm pretty sure it's an old magma dragon, yeah.
Wow.
That's crazy.
Unbeatable.
Young, adult, and ancient are the ones I'm seeing on...
Ancient.
Adult, yeah.
I knew adult was one.
Oh, I know.
No, there's a bunch of them.
There's Wormling, Very Young, Young, Juvenile, Young Adult, Adult, Mature Adult, Old, Very
Old, Ancient, Worm, and Great Worm.
Oh, that's right.
Great Worm.
Yeah, this was an old Macadam.
I also see Adult Titanic on some.
What's the CR?
CR 15.
Oh.
Beatable. Beatableable you can see it but you know while you were making all that noise and the other thing it was just prepping buffing getting ready
and you walked in and it was a no we had no ability to see it and the encounter was prepping
any per round spells per round buffs troy don't worry about it the pyro pisces added to the cr as
well even though you wipe them out and around. But we had just got done fighting them.
We hadn't healed up.
We used a bunch of stuff on them.
So that really ups the CR of the overall encounter.
Yeah, it was nasty.
I think your plan is a good plan.
I don't think it saves everyone's life,
because that thing can hit.
Six attacks.
They're all going to hit,
unless I roll a natural one.
How many attacks did it have at that moment?
Three, you said?
Three left.
The first one, minimum damage kills Baron.
So let's say I roll a natural one or miss.
It's not impossible.
I'm going to hit on one of those three attacks.
Minimum damage kills him.
And I think that even if we got the three of us, four of us, including Thune,
got out, rested, fully healed up, and went back in,
I still think we would have lost.
At that point, we have no ability to see him him i had no ability to hit from range exactly what was the
source of the healing given that i have all of the healing whoa i have one i have one shut them
i told joe the other day when he was upset about something's like not everything's a personal
attack buddy just calm down i'm not saying to tell them to shut up i have wants you have once okay well luckily uh you took the deal i only
wish one of you spoke draconic she was very purposeful in what she was saying to these
giants and one of them understood it you know who he spoke to draconic della della sir will
did pembroke yeah yeah of course yeah della pembroke? Yeah. Yeah. Of course. Della, Pembroke, Sir Will.
Sir Will, yeah.
We were the wrong party.
Della could have also glitter dusted.
Could have glitter dusted.
Classic low-level spell.
Just, hello.
You might want to have some glitter dust just laying around.
A little scroll of glitter dust.
Is there a potion of glitter dust?
There's gear.
You can just get spit glitter dust.
You get a wand.
You get a wand of glitter dust.
A wand of glitter dust.
Happy Halloween!
You can also do... Joe just did a get a wand and glitter dust. A wand and glitter dust. Happy Halloween!
Joe just did a great spit take of glitter dust.
I believe in the equipment notes, just having chalk dust also achieves the same goal.
I looked this up once.
You can do it very, very quickly. You need a lot of chalk.
Yeah, for a dragon that big, that's true.
For an old magma dragon.
What is the radius of glitter dust, I wonder?
Ten feet.
Oh, that wouldn't even get the whole...
But it's like a ranged burst.
Yeah, you would see it going.
We seem to know what to hit.
But you took the deal, and then she called out,
and a bunch of giants came in, a dozen or so.
They were really mean, actually.
They were really mean.
Bags over your heads, hog tie,
cuddled you to unconsciousness.
First one to awake is Metra.
You're in a cage in the giant encampment
outside of Ash Peak.
You look over and you see a man staring at you
as if he knew you.
It's Nestor Coyne.
You soon find that out when you speak to him.
You know of him, probably,
from hearing Baron's stories.
Dalgrith wakes up,
gets caught up on the situation.
Baron wakes up
with a 10-foot square of urine
all over him.
Giant urine.
It's covered.
Glitter pee.
Glitter pee.
There he is.
I thought he was invisible.
I used the glitter pee.
Hold on. Hold on a second.
I'm gonna pee on him. Hey, come on.
Taste the rainbow.
Pees on you.
You wake up. First thing you see is
Nestor Coyne. With
your final breaths, you're sitting on one
hit point you say i sentence you to death as brander's words ring out in your ears
not giving you the gift of knowledge
no he is giving the opposite of that not giving you the gift of life he's giving you the opposite of that. He's not giving you the gift of life. He's giving you the gift of knowledge.
Nestor, of course, went on to kill Umlo and leave. And now he found himself back in the encampment of giants outside Ash Peak.
Captured.
Of all the gin joints in all the world.
Of all the iron cages and giant encampments outside of volcanoes.
In all the world.
Had to be you.
So you think that's it.
Oh, this is pretty bad.
A thin, gray-skinned giant comes from the crowd
and, maybe taking a cue from Baron,
sentences all of you to death.
Six interlopers, only four of you are here. Sentences the four of you to death. Six interlopers, only four of you are here.
Sentences the four of you to death.
Who shall carry out the sentence?
One by one, giants step up.
An ogre offers to do it.
A female paladin of Zerzvader comes out
and offers to dismember you.
Another giant starts to step up.
What a polite offer.
You know, I'll do it.
You know what? Head to toe.
Just gonna pull them apart. I'll vivisect
them. And then burn their body
and offer you his brother.
And then
clip-clop, clip-clop
the sea of giants parts
as Skirkotla
rides up on the headless Dullahan that you, I think it was you, Baron, promised that you would come back and put him to rest.
Because he knows your name.
But you got busy.
Well, I can't do it now.
I said I'd do it there.
It was the holidays.
You got a lot going on.
A bunch of your friends died. I can't do it now. I said I'd do it there. It was the holidays. You got a lot going on. Yeah.
A bunch of your friends died.
I can't go tell them his name.
Didn't we just bought a house?
Wait, didn't we get to find out the Doolahan's name, right?
Right.
I just remembered this, but did I ever tell you what I always imagined his name was? Like as a lark when we were there?
No, but I want to hear it.
O'Doolahan.
O'Doolahan?
Oh, that's fun.
O'Doolahan. O apostrophe Doolahan. O'Doolahan. No, but I want to hear it. O'Doulahan. O'Doulahan? Oh, that's fun. O'Doulahan.
O apostrophe Doulahan.
O'Doulahan.
Yeah, exactly.
Mr. O'Doulahan.
I'll meet you down at O'Doulahan's after work.
I got five dollar pitches.
Ah, clip, clop, clip, clop.
You see Skirkotla right up.
You're all locked in cages, weaponless, armorless, without any magical items.
Nestor's sitting at half HP.
He'll live forever.
Each of you have one.
If there was a half HP, Baron would have it.
It's not a great situation.
It's not great.
It's not great, Bob.
Not great, Bob.
She steps up and
offers herself they are mine just remembered something yeah i'm sitting here thinking
scurcala's relationship with dalgrith i'm like when did i come into this exactly because i know
i fought her like what episode did i come in what part of the fight is the whole encampment was down when dog wreath came in and bit bit bit my mind bounced around
and then i remembered that this doula hand killed four bears yep yes i just remembered that that's
right this son of a bitch after he rejuvenated because you killed him and then you went out and
you fought uh the guy who claimed he did all these things that he didn't do, remember?
And they interred him there in a place of royalty.
You killed him.
You came back.
You walked through the door.
It charged straight through forebears.
Put in a negative 44 hits.
I'll never forget that.
Remember, right before forebears died, Agrochem, the angry old dwarf, told us that we need to demand the decapitant lord remember his name
or he'll come again and again to speak with a haunt for this.
And then I have your name written down later, which I know I met you well before,
but I have it written down as Dullgrith Deathbringer.
D-U-L-L.
That's just rude.
Dullgrith.
I'm super sorry.
You didn't need to say that.
And Google...
You're clearly not sorry. you just read it out loud google google drive has
no idea what to do with the own infectia and zoia beta those are in there just with a long
red squiggly line it's right though that's how you pronounce it add it to your dictionary o-n-i-n-f-e-c-k-s-i-y-a
i think that's way off that's way off i I think you tell us the correct spelling and that is way off.
There was an X in there at least.
Onan Phexia.
P-H-E-X-I.
Oh, yeah.
Way off.
Scarecrow dismounts the Doolahan.
The decapitant lord.
I didn't know people could ride the Doolahan.
I didn't know that he was cool with that.
Yeah, I know.
It seems like an imposition.
From the look of the head that he's holding in his hands, he didn't look angry.
That's not the Doolahan I know.
Something's going on here.
It's not the old Doolahan I know.
Can we talk?
Do you need to talk?
They're probably the only two left of the Skirkotling tribe.
Yeah.
Because you wiped out the rest, and the rest fled. Skirkotling tribe. Yeah. Because you wiped out the rest and the rest fled.
Skirkotla,
eyes,
each of you,
looks at Soaking Wet Band,
looks at Dalgrith,
Metra,
recognizes the three of you because the three of you
killed her.
That's not true.
She wouldn't recognize me.
She was dead before
Farazza
sacrificed herself to save Baron.
So Metra...
She was dead before Metra.
She never saw Metra.
She never saw Metra?
Well, she heard stories about you.
She was like,
I think that's Metra.
She was in the room when I died.
No, she wasn't.
Unless she... She wasra. She was in the room when I died. No, she wasn't. Unless she...
She was nearby.
Wait, was she...
She was somewhere.
You know what?
How about this?
How about this?
Like a baby in the womb, when she's in the armor, she can hear Metra's voice.
Oh, okay.
Right, that's why I was saying she could sense it from inside.
Oh, the little link?
Yeah.
She's like, I know that voice.
All right, so she looks at the two dwarves.
They're the dwarves that killed me.
And they're... And that Metra. Wait. She's like, I know that voice. All right, so she looks at the two dwarves. They're the dwarves that killed me. And they're,
and that Metra.
Wait.
I feel like I know it.
Hey, come on.
You owe Metra your life.
That's true, you do.
Metra was the one arguing
to keep the armor intact
while Baron wanted to destroy it.
I see your life.
That's true.
Baron wanted to destroy it.
He got a liquid scroll
of Plane Shift
in order to do so.
And didn't do it.
Some leader he is.
Am I right?
Got us all killed.
Skirkotla speaks again.
We should have just played it Mozart.
Instead of talking about killing him.
You know nothing about child rearing.
Skirkotla says, after eyeing each of you up and down
Give them
Their armor
Give them
Their weapons
No way
Use all
Of your
Healing powers Use all of your healing powers.
I want them at their best.
And I want you giants of Ashpeak to bear witness.
to bear witness as I
Skirkutler
queen of the Skirkutling tribe
and ruler of Skirgard
destroy these woeful wretches
who like so many others
choose to stand
in the way of the inevitable
the world is no longer for them.
It is for us.
It is for the giants.
It is for your king and queen.
And it is for Volstice.
Hove! Hove!
They bang the ground again as she looks up at the mountain and the sky beyond.
It has been decided.
She, Scarecrow, and her steed will carry out the sentence, the gray, thin giant says.
The gray, thin giant says, per her request, you will be given your arms and armor.
Don Weir here will heal you.
An ancient-looking giant priestess of Zvruzvata hobbles over towards the direction of your cages.
And then you will be let loose to face your judgment
know this
should you try and run
you will be killed
and should you
looking at Metra
try to escape
with your powerful magics
your friends will be erased Try to escape with your powerful magics.
Your friends will be erased.
Oh yes, the changeling orc and the one-eyed warrior that travel with you.
They belong to the mountain now. Should you use your powers of teleportation that now the whole mountain knows of,
my dear, they will not just die.
They will be tortured, maimed, and brought to feel things
no creature should ever feel.
Then, and only then, perhaps the king will give them the sweet relief of death.
I have a question, then.
Oh, oh, the sorcerer has a question.
Please, speak your final words.
What happens when we win?
She asks, what happens when we win?
When we win the arrogance of the small folk at work again?
We'll talk about that. at work again.
We'll talk about that if it happens.
Metra nods her head.
The giant nods at you.
Don't we
do as
Madame Scarecrow requests
the old
crotchety
priestess as Vardo walks up to you
her hands are like thick with boils
and stubbly
and she just reaches through the cage
at you Dalgrith and lays this big
meat paw on you
and just
just bursts
healing into you
and does it to Nestor
and to Metra
and to Baron.
Oh my god.
Just insane.
Then a few giants come up to each of you
and drop your armor
and weapons
and all your magical items
inside of your cage.
But the one that comes up to Baron
drops everything there,
but your gun is noticeably absent.
The giant looks down at you.
The king thanks you for your offering.
And walks away. And you're just left with
dwarven war axes
both my guns or law bringer
I have two guns
both my guns
gone
so you just wanted
to have the TPK take three episodes instead of just one episode we're
taking the long way he gave us i want to take the scenic route he gave us the gift of knowledge
not the gift of life now you know the guns were all that mattered in the story
baron roll a perception check
the story.
Baron, roll a perception check.
Picking the perfect time.
Take your time.
29.
29.
You just, you realize they can give you all the weapons and armor you want
and you know what Nestor is capable of.
He's probably only gotten stronger in his time away from you.
Whatever feelings you may have for him,
you know what Metra can do
and you certainly know what Dalgrith to do,
but you know how helpless you are without your gun.
How Skirkotla has already taken
two of your closest friends in Faraza and Pembroke.
But something draws your attention in the distance.
And you're just like blinking and looking still,
fucked up from the fight with the dragon, though you may be fully healed.
And way in the distance, up on a cliff,
there looks to be a figure, clad all in black, standing there.
And everything just slows down.
Like you're on an acid trip and everything is just going in slow motion.
And you hear a voice that you
feel is coming
from this figure
alone on this peak
on the cliff
you had
one chance
don't waste
this one
the
cage doors swing open.
Roll for initiative.
Whoa!
Like straight to...
I thought we were going to an arena
of some sort at least.
Why don't we go to the map?
Oh my...
Straight to it.
You've lost your mind.
You lost your...
You took his guns and...
He's drunk with power.
Open the cages and go.
Making us dance for him.
Oh, my goodness.
There you all are.
If we're to zoom in, zoom out, see your old friends, Skirkotla.
Oh, my gosh.
And the Doolahan.
Hey, look at you putting some work in.
Look at all the giants.
Oh, don't you mean her steed?
That's all he is now?
Her steed.
He's been demoted.
Steed.
All right.
Dalgrith.
Sorry, I'm stunned.
You have a stunned condition?
It only lasted three rounds.
Roll it for Anish.
Come on.
Damn it.
Damn it.
16.
Actually, this might not be a bad one to just go later.
16, eh? 16.
Alright. What is your bonus?
12.
12. Okay. Metro? 94 to start
it off. 27.
Holy. Holy. I rolled a natural
4, but used my
Dimension of Time, Planar Infusion
to re-roll my initiative roll.
Oh, that's fun. I'm glad you were honest.
I'm glad you were honest.
Baron. 25.
25.
And for the first time
in a long time.
Nestor Coin!
Now we're in our teens show.
19s all around.
18. 18, sorry.
Wow, look at that.
Metro Baron Nestor.
And I do, I want to point out, Nestor's cage was already unlocked.
Oh.
It was already unlocked.
It swung much faster than the rest of yours.
You picked the lock?
Some days ago.
Classic Nestor.
It is round one, and it is Metra's turn.
Okay, Metra will cast Invisibility Greater on herself and disappear.
And then she will use the Quicken Metamagic rod to cast fly on herself.
And she will take off flying.
All right.
I love it.
Open the cage.
First thing she does, up into the sky.
See ya.
Actually, you know what?
She'll do that in the reverse order.
Invisible, then fly?
Fly, then invisible.
Fly, then invisible.
So she'll fly out of the cage.
And then once she's in the air, they all look up and see her.
And she's like, we're they all look up and see her and she's like...
Baron.
Jesus effing Torek.
Fuck.
Baron is going to call down a swift judgment of protection on himself.
He is going to...
You guys see Baron, like like you look over there and
he doesn't have
you notice that like you all have your
weapons and Baron is just like fumbling
at his chest
he's going to
Jesus Christ
he's gonna cast
channel vigor on himself
To give himself haste
Okay
Nice
And
That's his
What is pulling out an item from a bag?
Is that a standard or a move?
Move action
Move actions
I think
He's gonna pull out
The broom of flying
Broom of flying
And what judgment did you do?
Protection As you do? Protection.
As you do that,
Skirkotla just waves her hand.
Oh, you forgot!
Immediate action ends your judgment.
Oh, no.
I totally forgot about that.
She's like, I know this idiot's tricks.
Can you take an immediate action
before you've acted in combat yet?
Booyah!
Pause 25 minutes to look up rules.
Oh, I love you.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Immediate before initiative order.
Oh, interesting.
Yeah, you could probably just get a quick forum answer on that.
An immediate action is very similar to a swift action, but can be performed at any time, even if it's not your turn.
Is the entire text of immediate action.
Well, well, shoot.
Well, then she immediately ends that judgment.
And she just does it with a smile on her face.
She's like, I've fought him twice now.
I know him inside and out.
And where's his gun?
And how do I know that Metra fella?
She says that to herself.
Fella?
Fella? How do I know that Metra fella. She says that to herself. Fella? Fella?
How do I know that Metra fella? Metra gal.
All right, Baron, anything else?
Can I take another free action?
Yes, I think I can.
So I will quick draw the plus one giant bane heavy crossbow,
which is very terrible in combat because it takes me a full round to reload, i assume i still have that correct uh the crossbow was it drawn no i'm
pulling it out you're pulling it out nothing else that's it yeah yeah that's fine okay great uh so
you did a judgment that was taken away and then you did a uh move action to pull out the all right
cast a channel on yourself move action action for pulling out the broom.
Free action, pull out the crossbow.
You pulled out the broom.
Yeah.
Wait, free action, pull out the crossbow.
I quick draw.
You're all set then.
Boom.
You don't need two hands for the crossbow?
I think to shoot it I would, but I can hold it in one hand.
Because you hold it in one hand to help reload it and pull back the string.
So I'm not wielding it.
I'm just having it out.
Okay.
It is the Capitan Lord's turn.
And he charges.
And who is he going to charge at?
He's going to charge directly at Dalgrith Deathbringer.
Oh, no.
See if I can kill two of Joe's characters to try and lance you while you're still in the cage.
Oh, my God.
Remember, a natural 20 times three crit.
This isn't.
I mean, it's a guaranteed hit if it's not a natural one.
That's for sure.
You know how I killed four bears.
I got to do it again.
Vital strike.
Okay.
And you can do that on a charge?
Oh, wait.
I'm looking.
He did before. Vital strike. Oh, my God. Four bears is alive. Did you do that on a charge? Oh wait, I'm looking at Skirkotla
He did before
Oh my god, four versus alive
Did you do that wrong?
No, no, he doesn't have vital strike, Skirkotla does
He has power attack, that's what I do, and that's what I'll do
Alright, here we go
What you can do on a charge
29
Yes
29 hits?
I'm flat footed, I'm a flat footed rogue
Actually
I can't be caught flat footed
But it doesn't matter
29
Also is the Doolahan
The Doolahan's not a giant
For the purposes of our
Defensive training
I forget about this
I'll tell you right now
No
Okay
Augmented
It's just a seed
Augmented monstrous humanoid
Apparently
Let me just check.
The reach is 15.
Yeah, so he just charges up,
hits you for 25 points of damage
plus two points of sonic damage.
Oh, God.
Wow.
Wow.
And go ahead and roll a will save.
Because you're terrified of this thing coming running at you.
Natural one.
All right, good.
I don't have to look up the DC.
We're off to a really great start.
All right, it's not bad.
You're shaken for 16 rounds.
Stay alive for 16 rounds. Jesus!
Stay alive for 16 rounds! It's a soft
16, I'm sure you'll be fine!
Is it a tight 16? Just remember,
round 17, you're back in business.
Uh,
it is Nestor Coyne's turn.
Nestor Coyne takes a swift
action, swift action
against the, uh,
the Doolahan. It's hand to study target and he takes
five foot step out of his cage from
pulling two arrows out of his quiver oh
baby into old jolta which looks a little
bit different than it did the last time
you saw it and he fires off a shot with
deadly aim. Wow.
Natural 20. Come on!
Come on!
Critical threat. Critical threat.
Critical. Critical threat. Critical threat. Roll to
confirm. That's a natty 18 on the confirm.
Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
Joe, be happy. Joe can't even be happy for you.
This is good news. That's fucking ridiculous.
Alright, this one from Rex in scenic Redwood Shores, California.
Soft underbelly.
Ooh, I feel like we had this one.
Your attack has exposed a weakness in your target's defenses.
Double damage and the next critical threat By any creature against the target
For the remainder of the encounter
Automatically confirms
No save
Holy shit
That is a cool crit
Yeah it is double damage and the next critical threat
By any creature against the target for the remainder of the encounter
Automatically confirms
And it is not immune to critical
That is really cool Rex
Nice work Give Thanks, Rex.
So give me that double damage. Okay,
so that's a times three crit.
Uh,
that is... Oh my god.
He's back, everybody. He's back. I know, like,
I said people need more reason
to love Neskitt so much.
For Christ's sake. That is 88 points
of damage. Oh my god is 88 points of damage. Oh my god.
88
points of damage.
Like electricity
courses over its undead body.
And do you have more attacks?
Yes. Okay.
Get it again. Get it again!
It's a natty 15 on the
second attack.
That is a 35. That is a hit.
Can you imagine it would be critical threaded right there?
I could throw up.
That's 20 more points of damage.
20 more points of damage, okay.
Final attack.
Natural one.
Oh, no.
She gets it.
She takes it.
That is a 20 on the confirmed.
That is a confirmed fumble.
Oh, no!
Nesser, no!
If we lose Nesser...
Did they do something to your bow while they had it in storage?
Yeah, this is so weird.
I gotta restring it.
Oh, God.
All right.
This one from Garrett in Oakland, California.
Hi, Garrett.
Hi, Garrett.
Hi, Garrett.
Chicken and sneeze!
That's good.
The chaos of battle sends a stray
dust mote, appropriate right now,
floating into your nostril, causing you
to sneeze right as you're about to release your projectile.
Your attack hits a random friendly
character for normal damage.
Oh, no! It's the old
Nestor. Fortitude save
to stifle the sneeze halves the damage.
So go ahead and roll a fortitude save.
He's allergic to giant piss.
Were you shooting Scarecrow?
No, Decapitant Lord.
So against the Decapitant Lord's AC is this fortitude save.
All right.
Fortitude save.
19.
That is going to hit a friend.
So it's normal damage to a friend.
There's no rules about who it hits.
It's at random.
Oh, it's at random?
Yeah.
Well, I'm going to say it hits...
Well, I could hit...
You got to roll it up.
You could hit anybody.
All right.
One, two, Baron.
Three, four, Metra.
Metra's invisible, right?
Yes.
All right.
So one, two, three, Baron.
Four, five, six.
Dalgrith.
I think you should include Metra in there.
Of course, it's Dalgrith.
It's random.
It's Dalgrith. This is random. Oh, my God. Oh, my... I feel so bad. Quick re-roll, five, six. Dalgrith. I think you should include Metra in there. Of course, it's Dalgrith. It's random. It's Dalgrith.
This is random.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my.
I feel so bad.
Quick re-roll, including Met.
Including Met.
I guess that arrow could have just gone flying.
It's not like he hit you exactly where you...
Oh, God.
Oh.
Son of a bitch.
Did I miss a billion?
That's unbelievably bad luck.
This is bad.
How much damage?
Well, now, I know we've talked about this before,
but I would argue that we shouldn't include deadly
aim or studied target
in the damage. Definitely not studied target
but you were still shooting to kill, weren't you?
Yeah, but not a random
person. It's true. And not an aim
like at a specific spot. That's fine.
I mean, we're already playing with house rules. I'm fine
with that. Okay.
Seven points of damage.
I'm less fine with it okay
god you got me again i thought it was a great idea after he said he apologized sorry
and he turns and looks at baron and he says uh you see that pile of shit over there by the second
cage you might want to go look in it i left a little gift for you
You might want to go look in it.
I left a little gift for you. Oh!
What?
Sneaky sons of bitches.
Oh my god.
Alright, Dalgrith, what do you got?
Dalgrith.
Alright, reinvigorated.
Dalgrith is going to run from his cage.
Like, just try to dodge out of the way of this spear, first and foremost.
Uh, so...
So he tries to avoid attack of opportunes.
Tries to avoid the attack of opportunes.
Uh, got it.
There you go.
And then he...
Sure?
Positive.
Okay.
And then he is going to jump onto the headless horseman.
Wow.
And he's like, I hear you like to be mounted! And he's going to jump onto his back. horseman. Wow. I hear you like to be mounted.
And he's going to jump onto his back.
I told you not in confidence.
Or at least attempt to, anyway.
A natural 20.
That's a 50.
Oh, you rolled a natural 20?
Yeah.
Wow.
Just jump up onto him.
So, yeah, he jumps up and gets onto him.
And then, well, we were
talking about this, just kind of shifting the rules around
a little bit, I guess, on the
vexing dodger to do it, I guess,
by the rules of the game.
It's very complicated. We've talked about
this. It's really a gray area.
Right, so you're saying it's a CMB attack.
It's an action. And I say, no, it's
a, well, I don't say no.
What it says is it's a climb
check and you say that's part of movement and then you know we have the whole debate about like
is it um you need to climb with two hands right that's that's clear uh but then is it an action
to do it you know what i mean this is the really the main thing and and having two hands is tough
too for second opponents but i can get into that later point is i'm just gonna say he you know
doesn't have his weapon runs runs up there, jumps on.
Needed two hands to climb, so he got up there.
And pulls out his weapon as part of the action.
Right.
Okay.
Well, here's the thing.
I don't believe it's an action.
And if you have the text, just send it to me.
I don't know.
The limb climber ability.
I don't see anywhere where it says it's a standard action.
We've had a couple people say it is.
A couple people argue the other way. Right. I mean, that's the thing. I don't see anywhere where it says it's a standard action. We've had a couple people say it is. A couple people argue the other way.
Right.
I mean, that's the thing.
I don't think there is a clear answer on it.
But moving up, you have to climb with two hands.
So you draw your weapon at the end of it.
That could still be considered part of the move action.
I'm fine with that action.
So then could I just stab once?
Yeah, go ahead.
All right.
Until I see a cogent reason why you can't.
Well, you know what?
In that case, then, he would also leave an illusion.
So right before he jumps on it, he'll leave an illusion.
I'm fine with that.
Just to give himself the ability to flank.
Shoot.
And guns and roses, baby.
GNR.
Is the creature evil?
Just tell me what it would be if it wasn't evil.
And then tell me what it would be if it was evil.
I don't think it's going to matter.
Yeah, it's not going to matter.
If he was not evil, he'll be 19.
If he was, he'll be 21.
So sorry.
Yeah.
No, you're not.
I'm not.
Shut your mouth.
So he misses anyway.
Jump on, take a stab, and the thing moves out of the way right at the last second, and he misses.
It is Skirkotla's turn.
Oh, Skirkotla.
Welcome back, Kotter.
Welcome back.
She's going to move forward.
Full complement of her movement.
And from there...
Right towards Bear Bear!
Yeah, she kind of moves up and down.
From there, she is going to do a devastating blast that will include both Baron and Nestor.
Roll a reflex.
Did we ever see this before?
I believe we did.
I think she started a combat with one of these.
What do you got there, Care Bear?
38.
That is a pass.
All right.
Nice. 27. That is also pass. All right. Nice.
27.
That is also a pass.
Nice.
Very well done.
All right.
So let me just make sure it's half damage.
Yes, it is half damage for 8d6.
Fire damage.
Half of 8d6?
7, 8.
8, 9, 10, 16.
All right.
17, 18, 19, 20 Alright Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty
So ten points of fire damage
Nestor takes no points of fire damage
As he now has evasion
Oh yeah
What has he been up to?
That's some good
He like positions himself
He like leans against the slats of the cage
And like the fire flows effortlessly around
him harmlessly around him
and she notices this she's like
I didn't do as much damage as
I would have liked it to roll a perception
check I don't believe you
she's wise Metra new round
yeah and we'll
scare Kotler please roll a reflex
she is immune
to reflex saves all right I'm gonna roll a reflex save? She is immune to reflex saves.
All right.
I'm going to roll a reflex save.
I'm going to roll an addy 18 and pass your spell.
Okay.
Yep.
So you avoid the hungry pit.
Oh, hungry pit.
You're the first giant to ever avoid a hungry pit.
You went to the well one too many times, pity.
Well, I assume she had crazy saves, but it was worth a shot.
It was definitely worth a shot.
Do you want to do any type of movement, hover check?
I have to move, in fact.
Okay.
So I will move, and I'm also going to woo.
You're going to woo?
I would also like to woo.
Woo.
I'll allow it.
Yes.
Actually, I will fly down, and using the quick and metamagic rod, Nestor becomes invisible.
Oh!
Oh, yes.
That's particularly dangerous.
Very good.
All right.
So you fly down, still invisible, and it is Baron's turn.
Nestor pointed right about, oh, ten feet or so away from you
To a mound on the ground
Right there
Baron's hoping that this uneasy alliance
Can continue at least for one more battle
But he's also going to sense motive on what he just said
Before he gets laughed at for reaching into Poopoo
And I know that
Nestor has an incredible bluff
But my sense motive was a 28 What sense does he get Nestor has an incredible bluff, but my sense motive was a 28.
What sense does he get, Nestor?
Yeah, you think he winked at you, but you think that he was telling the truth about something.
Okay, so right in that square right there, Troy, where I moved on the map,
Baron will move there and will use a standard action to reach into the doo-doo,
or should I do a perception check to look into it first?
You don't even need to roll perception
because you recognize something glinting out from beneath.
It's Della.
Oh my God, it's Della!
And she's been all fixed up.
The gun.
Wow!
Yes, this is very important.
It is Della the gun, and she has been all fixed up.
What is Della the gun?
Della the gun is...
Is it a giant bane pistol?
It is a giant bane pistol plus one without the range increments that I normally have.
So it's only 20 feet versus the 40 feet I have with Lawbringer.
Oh, throw it away.
Put it back in the shed.
Just kick it into the garbage.
Wow.
That's amazing, dude.
I have been waiting to see what happened with that amazing flashback.
We're in!
Roll a perception check.
Okay.
Natural one for a 22.
All right.
Well, it's a 22.
Something's different about Della.
You're not quite sure,
but there's like a little,
looks like a little spider
sitting under the hilt.
Oh God.
But it's not like a real spider.
Oh, it's a cool ornament.
It's like, you know,
it's like a,
it's three dimensional.
It's an itsy bitsy spider
and it's just kind of sitting there, metallic in nature.
But if you didn't know, it looked like it twitched a little bit.
Okay.
What is this?
That's incredible.
There's no check I can do on it now that I've noticed it of any sort.
Knowledge engineering maybe twitched a little bit.
I don't have any.
You could roll knowledge engineering. I thought you were going to say it twitch a little bit. I don't have any. You could roll knowledge engineering.
I thought you were going to say it looks a little different.
It no longer accepts alchemical paper cartridges.
I like that.
It only uses natural 20 for 26.
Natural 20.
Wow.
I wasn't really ready to give you the answer to this.
You let him roll a die.
I didn't think you were going to last until 20.
Man, I love a good high knowledge check.
Well done, Grant.
Thank you, Joe.
All right, so this looks a little different from the ones that you've heard of,
but you think that there's a chance that this could be something known as a slight spider.
It is an item of wondrous power.
It can do lots of things.
It can pick lint off of clothes, chisel grime from armor.
You don't know if it has those abilities, but one thing you know it can do is,
if commanded to do so as a free action, it perches on the muzzle of a one handed or two handed firearm barrel.
And after the firearm is fired,
travels down the barrel and cleans out the firearm.
Each time the slate spider cleans a firearm,
the next shot,
the firearm fires has no chance of misfiring.
Oh my God.
Wow.
Wow.
So every single shot has no chance of misfiring the next shot?
Correct.
Holy shit.
What the fuck?
How often can you use it?
It's a little different.
Something's a little bit off about it.
Bad different?
No, not bad different.
I guess I'll figure out on the second shot.
Looks like your old pal Nestor may have made some upgrades.
This dude is a fucking czarney executioner the likes of which the world has never seen.
I know.
God.
With Daldgrith on his back, the decapitant lord takes a full attack on Nestor Coyne,
because Nestor is within 15 feet.
Oh, my God.
Nestor is invisible.
Nestor is invisible, so he stabs out at the square that he thinks Nestor might be at.
First attack.
I'm going to leave power on.
Here we go.
First attack is a 28 to hit.
That would be a hit.
All right.
So now 51 or higher hits.
99.
Oh.
All right, so that is going to hit you.
First attack for minimum damage.
24 points of damage and three points of Sonic.
Second attack.
Uh, 20 to hit.
Miss.
Miss.
Really low roll.
Third attack.
Crits 19 to 20, by the way.
Misses on the third attack.
Yes! Wow.
He's invisible. He's doing his best.
And then
he
he's not going to move. He's going to stay right there.
It is
Nestor's turn.
Nestacoin.
Alright. Nestor is
ah!
He grunts with pain as the weapon finds its mark. He takes a five-foot step back, invisible as he is,
and pulls another two arrows out of his quiver.
Fires them off.
Flat-footed AC.
Oh, boy.
At the decapitant Lord?
Yes.
That is a 36 to hit.
36 to hit.
Wow.
That is 51 points of damage.
Oh, my God.
10 points of electricity.
So 136 so far.
You should change your target.
Is this Skirkadla?
Is this thing alive?
It doesn't appear so.
Okay.
It's undead.
I mean, it's head in its hands.
With a dead kibble.
No judgment.
But he is breathing.
All right, second attack.
Okay.
Natty, 17.
37 to hit.
Jeepers.
Rocks hit.
Hole. Natty17, 37 to hit Jeepers rocks hit That is another 30 points of damage Okay
And final attack
That is
26 to hit
26 is a miss
But Nestor lights
It up
Seriously
Dalgrith you're on its back
You feel it bucking at each arrow
It's skin
Is just like wide open
And you just see the innards of a horse
All decayed
And dusty bones
What do you do
He's gonna click his heels together course, all decayed and dusty bones. What do you do?
He's gonna click his heels together and get a little
haste. Don't be hasty!
Thanks for the boots back!
You fools! And then he's
going to stab, stabby, stab
away.
Hope to not roll it at anyone.
Alright, let's see.
Stab, stab, stabby way. All right. Let's see. Step, step, step away.
First attack.
Miss.
Second attack.
I thought that was a happy scream.
Oh.
It's hard to tell.
It's hard to tell.
If it's evil, that's 33.
If it's not, it's 31.
That is a hit.
Okay.
Jeez.
You make it hard on me.
Is it evil or not?
Don't worry about it.
Okay. Okay. it hard on me. Is it evil or not? Don't worry about it. Okay.
So, then, uh, jeez.
So, that's ten.
Ten.
So, it's twenty-one damage if it's, I'm sorry, twenty-five damage if it's not evil.
Okay.
And how much damage if it is?
Just out of curiosity.
And another four.
I said twenty-five if it was evil?
Twenty-nine if it was evil. Twenty-nine if it was, twenty-eight if it, yeah, I said 25 If it was evil 29
29 if it was
28 if it
Yeah 29 if it was evil
Okay
I wonder if it's evil
He seems like a pretty cool guy
And then last attack
You dumbo
O'Brien
With your shitty rolling
Another miss
Miss
Miss
Miss
Miss
Miss
Miss
Miss
Miss
You got a hit in the middle
Got a little hit
That was a miss sandwich
Yeah
Joe is throwing dice around the meat.
The meat was your hit.
Yeah.
And it's just like...
The attack bonus is pretty high.
It's just natty three.
Natty two.
Natty three.
It is Skirkotla's turn.
She threw out her devastating blast,
and it really didn't seem to devastate
either Nestor or Baron.
She has her eyes set on the gunslinger.
Oh, yeah, she does.
So she walks right up to him.
Battle axe gleaning.
It's a little bit different from the battle axe that you fought her with before.
I mean, you guys took that.
But it looks still pretty badass.
Steps up.
Vital strike.
Just moved one five- foot step To get within range
Vital strike is a full round action
It replaces a full round action
That's what makes it so awesome
She gets right up in your business
One
Swing
31 Miss Oh my god Swing. 31.
Miss!
Oh my god!
Wow.
Wow.
31 and she misses.
His heart is pounding.
Swings at you.
You've seen her kill your friends!
Or at least the people that she brought onto this plane to fight beside her.
It's now Metra's turn.
Metra, you turned invisible.
You flew to the air.
You flew back down.
You made Jimmer, excuse me,
you made Nestor invisible.
What do you want to do now?
I get so many options.
You do have some options.
What kind of giant is Skirkotlet?
Remind me, is she a frost giant?
She appears to be a frost giant,
but with other shit going on.
With other shit going on. Yeah shit going on okay uh first things first um can skirkotla go ahead and roll another
reflex save sure do do me a favor and do something i didn't do the first time and roll spell
resistance yes s r s r this uh spell does not have spell resistance.
Oh.
Because I'm not casting it on her.
Oh.
So what am I rolling?
Reflex save.
Reflex save.
19.
That is fail, my friend.
Into the hungry pit she goes.
Oh.
Really?
Well, well, well.
Okay, that's fair.
That's fair. I've acted well the correct amount Okay, that's fair. That's fair.
I've acted well the correct amount of times.
All right, so she falls into a hungry pit.
That is a 100-foot pit.
100-foot pit.
Oh, my God.
Because I'm... Oh, no, I'm sorry.
It is a 70-foot pit.
70-foot pit, okay.
So you take falling damage from that.
You get another reflex to avoid or to have that damage.
Okay.
That is going to be a fail on that reflex save.
Okay.
So she just plummets down.
Yep.
So that's going to be 76 damage, right?
Yep.
Let me get out some dice.
And it won't be halved.
So that's 31 points of falling damage.
Oh, boy.
And then on your turn, you'll take the damage from the contraction.
Oh, gosh.
He's having contractions.
She cannot bring another one into the world.
How close are they together?
Baron is standing on the edge, but it's not the end of his turn,
so he doesn't have to roll anything right now, right?
Exactly.
Okay.
I'm not done yet, though, if that's all right with you.
Please, no, I'm fine.
So I'll fly around, and as I'm over the pit...
Actually, I don't need to do that.
So I'm going to, as I go by the pit, I'll point, use the metamagic rod, point my little finger, and shoot a little tiny ball of flame.
Oh!
It will burst out in the pit for a fireball.
Oh, shit. Wow.
Please remember that when you're rolling the reflex
save to avoid the damage of the fireball
that you are prone.
Okay.
Okay.
What an evil...
Roll spell resistance.
That's true.
Natty, 16. There you go.
There you go. Alright, so what's the total? 33. You pass spell resistance. That's true. Natty, 16. There you go. There you go.
All right, so what's the total?
33.
You pass spell resistance.
I'll save you rolling damage.
You throw the fireball down there.
The flames hit and erupt up through the pit.
And you see her lying there having taken no damage.
She's immune to fire damage.
Wow.
That's frost judge.
How?
I think we...
Did we learn this?
You may have.
That was a long, long time ago.
Our big mistake is we took protection from energy cold.
Instead of fire.
Instead of fire.
And we're all doing fire damage.
That was really good writing on the writer's part.
Flipping the script on you.
It is Baron's turn.
Baron, you're now at the edge of the pit.
Instead of being right on top of her,
where stepping away to take a, you know,
your shot would have provoked,
now you're standing at the edge of the pit.
However, a full attack action here
means that you would have to roll a reflex save
to see if you fall in the pit at the end.
Not only that, it's three range increments,
or it's 60, so 40, 60.
It's, yeah, three range increments
outside of my current range.
It's true.
So I can't even really hit her.
So what I'm going to do is help out
with the decapitant lord at this point
and put some distance in between us.
Should Scarecrow get out,
I'm ready to lay down the wrath of God on her behind.
Okay.
10, 15, 20, 25.
Okay, so Baron is going to get within 20 feet of the Dullahan.
Five feet next to Nestor Korn.
He's going to look him in the eyes and say,
Reluctantly, thank you.
And boom!
Shoot out at this thing.
Shoot Della at the decapitated lock! Oh! Go roll a
91. Come on.
32 to hit!
That is a hit.
No giant subtype,
but... Oh, and I should have... Do I know
what type it is for next round in case I want to add
Bing? Oh, it's not giant subtype? It's not. No. Oh, that... should have... Do I know what type it is for next round in case I want to add Bane? Oh, it's not giant subtype?
It's not.
No.
Oh, I'm so glad.
Changes everything?
Well, that's why I pulled the evil Bane weapon as opposed to the giant Bane.
I wasn't 100% sure, but...
23 points of damage.
Uh-huh.
And I'll just do a quick either memory from the past or do a check to determine the creature type
just so I can apply Bane as a swift action for future attacks.
It's undead.
You can just Bane it.
But now it's dead dead.
Yes!
Baron.
However, you know.
Save me, brother.
You know this thing has rejuvenating powers until its curse has been lifted.
But for the moment, it is out of the battle, and Skirkotla is in the pit!
Oh my god.
She's been in the fire damage, but she's still alive.
It would have been its turn. Instead, it's Nestor Coyne's turn.
As Nestor turns, looks at Baron and says,
Enthusiastically, you're welcome.
And he moves over to the edge of the pit, ten feet,
over to the edge of the pit, 10 feet,
and he looks down and knocks a single arrow, and he is going to use an ability, a new ability,
called Pinpoint Targeting.
I'm scared.
As a standard action, make a single ranged attack.
The target does not gain any armor, natural armor, or shield bonuses to its armor class.
Nice.
What?
There's one arrow, study target, deadly aim, and basically no armor bonuses of any kind.
Doesn't get its natural or its dex or its size?
Dex bonuses, yes, but no other.
And if you get a critical threat, it automatically confirms.
No, that's on the dual hand.
That was the dual hand.
21 points of damage.
21 points of damage.
Well, they'll be rolled to hit.
I was going to say, could you roll?
It's a natty 16.
Okay.
So yeah, not a 20, not a 1.
You hit 21 points of damage, and what is your weapon? It's a natty 16. Okay. So yeah, not a 20, not a 1. You hit 21 points of damage, and what is your weapon?
It's obviously magical.
Yeah.
I just want to make sure it gets by her DR.
Roll a reflex save to see if you fall in the pit on top of her.
That is a 33.
You're fine.
Well, damn it.
All right, so Nestor steps up
and he's able to hold his balance, just
fires an arrow, pinpoint targeting
right into her face!
It's Dalgrith's turn. That's what it is.
It's picking out
the chink in the armor.
It's an open spot,
like a gap, like whatever.
He got her. Dalgrith, what are you going to do?
The Decapitant Lord, the Servatharim that you were standing on is dead.
You now land safely on the ground.
Lands on the ground.
He will sheathe his sword.
Start to slowly walk up towards Baron.
Skirkotla's not visible deep in this pit.
He's going to look at the slim gray giant,
wherever he can see that giant nearby.
You better start thinking about what you're going to do when we win.
And he's going to lean down the barren, looking across at Nestor.
You're right.
He is a killer.
That's my turn.
All right.
It is Skirkat's my turn. Alright, it is
Skirkotla's turn.
Skirkotla is going to
First, you take
16 points of damage.
Bludgeoning damage.
Alright, so only 6 get through.
However, she's going to attempt
to climb out of the 70 foot pit.
DC 35.
DC 35. She's got an amazing climb.
Made it.
So double move gives me what?
Half your speed.
I got a plus 18 to climb.
So she goes 20 feet up and she's holding there.
She's coming up.
Your speed is 20 feet.
Yes.
Half your, yeah, half your, so 20 up. Yes, it's half your total.
Yeah, half your...
So 20 up, yeah.
Well, no, I was just...
I thought you were going to say something like a crazy number.
Your speed is brutal.
What did you say, DC 35?
Yeah.
Yeah, so I have to roll an 18, 19, or 20.
Maybe a 17 to...
Yeah, 17, 18, 19, 20.
I rolled an 18.
All right, so she's 20 feet up.
So do you have to roll two climb checks, double move, or is that one climb check? One climb check. One climb check. Yeah, but you spend your whole action doing it. 19, 20. I rolled an 18. All right, so she's 20 feet up. So do you have to roll two climb checks, double move?
Or is that one climb check?
One climb check.
One climb check.
Yeah, but you spend your whole action doing it.
Right, right.
Man, so it is Metra's turn.
The giants are closing in on you.
They see that this isn't going the way they planned it.
It is your turn, Metra.
Yeah, do we want to think about an exit strategy here?
It means Jimmer and Thune's death.
Well, I meant an exit strategy to go save them.
But we don't know where they are.
I think we've got to kill them.
We can't think about that yet.
We've got to get vengeance.
Okay.
I don't know the system of honor, Metra.
I don't know.
I think we must fire who's put in front of us for now.
Okay.
Metro will take the long way around and fly over the pit.
Uh-huh.
And cast a spell.
I'm going to roll to hit, and I'll roll spell resistance for you.
Okay.
Okay.
Confirm.
Okay.
Natty, 19.
31 to hit. All right. 31 against spell resistance. Nice one 19 31 to hit
Alright, 31 against spell resistance
31 to hit and now I'm going to roll spell resistance
Okay
Is that alright with you?
Yeah, it's fine
I gotta see if I can hit you
Alright, that's fair
Nattie, 16
On the spell resistance
Amazing!
Okay
Okay, so this is enervation
Ah, Innervation
So you get 1d4 temporary negative levels
Oh yeah
Really, are they not immune to that?
Yeah, she's immune to energy drain
Yeah, because it's like
You're draining someone's life force essentially, right?
With Innervation
I don't know, I'm just
She's been fighting too many creatures in the shadow plane
It's a necromancy, the school is necromancy
Yeah, they're usually immune to that kind shadow plane It's a necromancy The school is necromancy Yeah they're usually
Immune to that kind of stuff
It is a ray
Of negative energy
Negative energy
Yeah I'm trying to see
If that's the same thing
As energy drain
Yeah
Oh no
Just level up
Your column
An undead creature
Struck by the ray
Gains 1d4
Times 5
Temporary hit points
So I'm just gonna do that
Real quick How many? That's the last sentence In that sentence gains 1d4 times 5 temporary hit points. So I'm just going to do that real quick.
How many?
That's the last sentence
in that sentence.
It is.
1d4.
Oh, no.
You didn't even read
always the last line.
You never read the last line.
I was like,
how can I stop her from climbing?
I can make her weaker.
Oh, you made her stronger.
I made her stronger.
I go, thank you.
I knew I knew you.
Echoing up through the hungry.
Thank you, your friends. Appreciate it. Anything else up to the hungry. Thank you. We are friends.
Appreciate it.
Anything else you want to do?
How many points?
Channel negative energy.
You kept her armor alive.
You kept her alive in the armor.
Now you've given her temporary hit points.
Whose side are you on?
I was going to say Baron.
Nice.
It is Baron's turn.
Baron, you saw Nestor step up there and shoot down.
Hitskier Kotla.
Metra just made her stronger.
But she's in a pit.
This healed her.
I didn't make her stronger.
I healed her.
Her strength went up by ten.
Just these predator-esque invisibility shapes fly over the pit and enhance the power of our enemy.
Baron looks over at Dalek and says, I know he is.
And he doesn't need this.
But he killed
just one of my friends.
And she killed two.
Baron walks up behind Nestor Coyne,
reaches out to old Jolter and casts
Weapon of Awe. Wow.
I thought you were going to put your gun to the back of his head.
No, that was it. You can just kill
him right there. Yeah, his tomb is right
there. Wow. Shoot tomb is right there.
Pushes it in the pit.
Shoot him into the pit. That would have been a real moment like you're like...
So you gain a plus two sacred bonus on damage rolls,
and if you score a critical hit,
the target of that critical hit becomes shaken for one round
with no saving throw.
It is Nestor's turn.
Nestor, you have a chance to roll off a full attack action here.
Nestor feels this surge of holy energy coursing through him.
Itches almost.
He says, thank you.
And pulls two arrows out of his quiver
and launches them into the pit against his steady target.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
That is a 35 to hit.
Yep.
All right.
That is 58 points of damage.
Oh, my God.
And again, your weapon is magical for bypassing DR, yes?
Yes.
Please make a climb check.
Oh, because I took damage?
Oh, this is amazing.
Per the rules of the climb skill.
Natty 19.
Not even joking. Natty 19. Not even joking.
Natty 19.
Look right over there, Grant.
She's tough.
She's tough.
Natural 19.
Grant always looks.
So just try as a high roll.
Just looks.
Don't seem too perfect.
He tells the truth, actually.
I believe him.
Yeah, I got no...
Note that you also are losing your dex bonus.
I got a long drive home here.
I'll take a natural five there.
What's that?
When you're climbing, you lose your dex bonus.
You lose your face bonus to shut up.
Nestor, what else you got? I hate it when I lose my
face bonus to shut up.
Second attack is a 31 to
hit. That is a hit. 23 points
of damage. Okay.
And make your climb check.
Natural
20. I'm not even
kidding you. GCP on the die. Come over here, Joe. Just look at my fucking die. I see it. I saw it. kidding you GCP on the die
Come over here Joe
I want you to look
At my fucking die
I see it I saw it
Fuck you
Nat 20
18
19
20
What color is the GCP die
Green man
The old green
Out of stock
Can't get him
Sorry
Out of stock
Sorry
Never made it again
You were supposed
To take care of that
I'm gonna put that
He's moving Joe
Right
I gotta lock it up
Final attack Is probably missed It's a 22 to hit I'm going to put that out there. He's moving, Joe. Right. I got to lock it up.
Final attack is probably missed.
It's a 22 to hit.
22 does miss.
Steven with that no dex bonus?
Yes.
She has no dex bonus, Matthew.
She's got all kinds of crazy shit going on. She has a 39 strength and a nine dex.
Wow.
So in fact.
So it increases her AC by one.
Damn it. That's how it works
Read the book once in a while
I can't make it any stronger
Not true
Did she ever stretch?
It's Dog with Tramp
Let me guess
Jump in the pit
Jump on her back
Yeah
Yeah
He'll run up and jump in the pit
God damn it
What do you want to do man?
You want to be a hero?
This hungry pit
Before the heroes met you
In ScareGuard When you killed her the first time All they knew Was that Dog with Deathbringer do you want to do man you want to be a hero this hungry pit before the heroes met you in skier
guard when you killed her the first time all they knew was that dalgryth deathbringer has fought
many many battles yeah battles that they sing songs about in taverns all over galarian don't
get me wrong i would jump down there it just seems so silly that it's a hungry pit we forgot
something nester has to roll reflexive oh yes he I do. He's probably going to get it, but if he doesn't
31, things would get
fun. Thanks for keeping us
honest. Dalgris, do you want to jump in there?
Uh, no.
You don't want to live like there's no tomorrow?
You consider that way more than
What is your climb bonus, by the way?
Dude, I want to do it. I hate the hungry
pit. I hate it. It sucks.
But your friend, if you get the kill shot, your friend can dismiss it.
And bury him alive?
But it eats, like, each round.
You know what I mean?
I'm just saying, like, I would do it, but it would seem like a stupid player thing.
Like, the character would not jump in there.
It's more of a hero move.
I hear you.
I hear you.
It's not something inordinate.
I never said I was a hero.
I'm no hero.
Yeah, he's just kind of...
You know what?
He'll delay.
He'll just delay.
He'll delay.
Okay.
Let's see if these giants pull something shifty.
And then he'll jump on one and slit his throat.
It's Gear Kotler's turn.
Fails, but doesn't fail enough to fall.
And take nine points of damage.
And takes nine points of damage.
Just eating away at her.
There's just no damage.
Yes, because she has
DR. A ten.
It's Metra's
turn. Uh, Metra
will, uh...
Whew.
Alright, let's see this. Let's try
something, uh... No, Metra
will just kind of land. And not for
something completely different. And ready in action,
which is that, uh... if anyone moves on the party, that will be the trigger.
If any giant Skirkotla or somebody from the crowd starts to move on the party, she'll take her action.
Baron, what are you thinking?
Baron's going to step up to the edge of the pit, look down.
How far away is Skirkotla?
50 feet.
Well, she's tall, so I'd say she's about 40 feet, 38 feet away if she's 12 feet tall.
So then that is one range increment out of my first,
meaning I will spend five grit points to do a full attack action on her.
Wow.
Got seven grit points, five on her.
Put her in the grave.
Let's see.
Every shot, think about someone she killed.
25 points. What's see. Every shot think about someone she killed. 25 points.
What?
Sorry. Wow.
You threw me for a loop when you said think about someone.
Because I was about to say forebears and I realized
that Doolahan killed her. There was a lot going on in my head.
25 to hit. 25.
You were back like 34 minutes ago.
Touch AC, right? Touch AC.
Yeah, that's a hit.
That is 32 points of damage on the first attack.
Okay, who's that one for?
What do you tell her?
That goes out for Pembroke the Potent.
Yeah.
Climb check.
Climb check.
No, no climb check.
Failed the climb check.
Oh, no, no.
Matthew.
These are the rules of the game.
So I believe you fall.
Yeah.
Failure means you fall from your current height and sustain the appropriate falling damage.
2d6.
By the way, I double moved and I was prone, so I should have only stood up and moved,
but whatever.
Seven points of falling damage.
Seven points of falling damage.
I'll fall to full damage.
Okay.
So how far away now?
Now she is...
58 feet away?
58 feet away, yeah.
58 feet away, so that's...
Well, she's laying down now, so she's 60 feet away.
60 feet away.
Okay, so that's...
She's locked in.
One ring...
She's 65 feet away.
She's only two feet tall?
Yeah, she's 65...
She's 70 feet away.
She's not five feet wide.
I don't...
She's 70 feet away.
She's certainly at least...
She'd be very offended by that.
Right.
She's certainly at least five feet wide. She's 70 feet wide. She'd be very offended by that. Right. She's certainly at least five feet wide.
Really?
Five feet wide?
So I'm going to spend three more grip points.
I don't think it'll make matter.
She's laying on her back.
It's going to be three more grip points in order to resolve against Touch AC.
That's a hit.
23 to hit.
23 to hit is a hit.
Okay. Ooh, that's
nice. That is
32 points of damage
again. Who's that one for? That's for
Farazza. This one's
for Pembroke. This one's for Farazza.
Next shot. These next
ones are going to go against her
regular AC. I'm hoping that when she's
prone, well, when she's prone, she's going to get a bonus
against ranged attacks, right? But you're shooting from above. Even though that when she's prone, well, when she's prone, she's going to get a bonus against ranged attacks, right?
But you're shooting from above.
Even though that makes no sense here, it doesn't
matter. Yeah.
It doesn't matter. I like when Joe tries to
antagonize Troy with the rules.
These are all against regular AC
now?
I'm going to try to crit.
Oh, and I'm going to use a free action on this next attack
to have the spider go into the barrel.
Okay.
Clear it out for you.
So can you just do that every time without asking?
Sure.
But this is the first time it's actually happening, so we get to see whatever's different.
Get ready.
Go, spider, go.
Natural one.
Oh, no.
See if it's a fumble It might be a fumb
32
Out of
Against ranged AC
Excuse me against you take the minus
Four or her AC goes up
Four that is a fumble
Really yes
Wow
Fan fumble. Really? Yes. Wow. All the decks they will tumble
fan fumble.
Also, I'm shooting
outside my range of increments, so it's even lower
than 32. Right. Imagine if you dropped
the gun to the floor. Oh my gosh.
You drop your weapon. Alright, this one from
Azure in Salt Lake City,
Utah. Well, I couldn't have misfired, by the way.
That was only for... Sorry to interrupt, Joe.
Right, you misfire, but this thing will clear out the misfire. Right. Apologize to Azure. Well, I couldn't have misfired, by the way. That was only for... Sorry to interrupt, Joe. Right, you misfire, but this thing will clear out
the misfire. Right. Apologize
to Azura. Sorry, Azura.
A-Z-U-R-E. Azura.
Azura. Azure. Azure. Azure.
Azure. Pleasure to meet you.
Thank you for the Famboni.
I used to be an adventurer. Oh, no.
I think I know where this one's going.
Your projectile strikes true,
just not on the target you had intended.
If there is an ally within range, your projectile hits the nearest one in the knee.
That's Nestor.
Normal damage and your ally is unable to take move actions to move on the battlefield for 1d6 rounds.
Is he visible?
Reflex save halves adoration.
Was that on purpose?
Fire, fire, one of the kneecaps?
Oh, sorry.
I missed a little bit.
You just kneecapped Nestor, Floyd!
You capped Nestor!
I didn't mean it.
This is going to look so bad later.
All Omlo did was call him trash.
You just kneecapped him!
And you know that he'll wait until you sleep and kill you because of that.
Listen, I'm not thrilled about this either.
Look at Skid's face.
He is amazing.
That's not striking true by the way that's
accidentally shooting someone by the text of the fumble it's not striking you strike true it's like
no i shot something else other than what i was shooting it you strike not very true you strike
i like how this striking false this fumble works outside of uh skids points about the way it's
worded i like it because you're at the edge of this hungry pit and like maybe
just a little bit of crumble gives way
underneath your foot and you kind of swing out.
I have no problem with that. In their defense,
it strikes true
to the name of the fumble.
I used to be an adventurer, but I took an arrow
in the knee. That's the joke. That's overly
generous.
But we'll necessarily see it that way.
Just regular damage, right damage We'll see Yes
Regular damage
That's only
19 points of damage
And he can't move
And he's stuck
At the edge of a hungry pit
Roll a reflex save
Or are you done
Your turn
Do you have a couple more attacks
I'm not gonna attack again
For risk of
Wait I can't misfire
You know
It came in
And cleared your gun
Alright
Baron's like Bam Bam Bam Points at Nestor Bam It can't misfire. You know, it came in and cleared your gun. All right.
Baron's like, bam, bam, bam, pointed.
It's like, ah, fucking hell.
That's for Umlo.
That's a miss.
That's against regular AC.
And then the final attack, free action, the spider goes in.
Gosh, gosh, gosh, dang it.
That's also a miss.
Miss.
Just wasting bullets at this point.
And grit. No, I'm not using the grit. That's why I'm hitting against regular AC. I stopped using it. That's also a miss. Miss. Just waste some bullets at this point. And grit.
No, I'm not using the grit.
That's why I'm hitting against regular AC.
I stopped using it. I thought you were going to use five grit.
If Skirkadla had saved the arm.
Now, roll a reflex save.
Come on, baby.
23.
You're fine.
Okay.
Four on the die.
Nestor, you are at the edge of the hungry pit.
You just got shot in the kneecaps
by your old buddy
Baron, who you know hates you and wants you
dead. He sentenced you to death, in fact. Let's find
out what Nestor does. You can't move from the edge of this Hungry
Pit, but you see Scarecrow 70 feet away
lying on her back.
Empty shell casings at your feet.
Blood shooting out of your knee.
What do you do? So he
the minute it strikes his knee,
he screams out.
He looks over as he's pulling two arrows out of his quiver.
You're not sure like who he's going to point.
This terrified blood,
like from his own knee,
like splashed up onto his face.
And he's like kind of leaned over to one
side he looks over at Barry and says
that hurt you fucking bastard and leans
down into the pit fires off two shots oh
my goodness he just took he just
basically pointed a pistol at point
blank range and shot you in the knee
also accidentally hit people due to
fumbles so you fell he's gone through it
uh 32 to hit
That is a hit
Oh wait
Against range that is a miss
That is a miss
Plus 4 to its AC
Oh
Again
This is so fucking stupid
That doesn't make any sense
It's a larger target if it's
You're coming from right from above
Alright second attack
It just missed
God that's so fucking dumb.
Can we use common sense ever?
No?
Okay.
Nope.
No, no.
Not here.
Second attack is a miss.
All right.
Crack die.
Bumble.
Yeah, it's a confirmed.
Oh, no.
We're lining them up.
Just when you guys have it going on.
We're lining them up.
Things are starting to fall apart.
Dustin from Fort Worth, Texas.
Yee-haw!
Yee-haw!
Lady Luck has left the chat room.
What does this mean?
You miss your mark by an outstanding margin,
leading you to believe greater forces are in control.
For the next 1D3 rounds, anytime you would roll a D20,
roll twice and take the lower result.
Oh, come on. Will negates.
How badly could I miss it? It's in a 10x10 pit!
That badly, apparently.
I'm, I'm, I'm... Will negates.
Okay, but that's gonna be
you're gonna fail.
What's the, what's the AC?
Her AC, yeah.
That's insane. Yeah, 15.
15, so it's 1d3 rounds.
1d3 rounds.
Two rounds.
Two rounds of brutal.
She's in rough shape, but you can't get the kill shot.
Dalgrith, you've been delaying for a round.
It's not working out.
You going to jump in that stand or what?
You are really hanging me on.
Just with the daggers.
Oh, 70-foot drop.
You get that kill shot.
She could dismiss the pit and you're fine.
They would tell stories about it across the kingdom.
Oh, God, it's so funny.
He'll move up with his allies here.
Take a gander over the pit.
Man, Nestor's got a wounded knee, not looking so good.
Yeah, no, I just can't see it, Troy.
I can't see it!
Okay.
Jumping 70 feet down.
Um,
yeah, he's just gonna,
he's gonna hold there.
Steps up to the edge of the pit,
holds, roll a reflex, save.
Did you fall in the pit?
19.
Oh! I mean, my luck tonight is astounding.
I rolled so bad.
God, you fall in the pit.
I fall in the...
Hey, hold on a second.
I intentionally drop into the pit.
In a heroic move.
Dalgrit steps up, thinks, should I jump in and be awesome?
No, no, I'm just going to stand here.
Falls in the pit. What a fucking joke of a human being. Matthew, no, I'm just gonna stand here. Falls in the... What a fucking
joke of a human being.
Matthew, why don't you roll that 76 damage?
Do you have a... Oh, I gotta roll
my reflex save too, right?
Oh, yes. Yeah, roll yours.
And you get another reflex save, Joe.
29. You're good.
You're good. Joe, you fall. See if you can
take half damage or
land standing up. Half.
Okay.
Joey.
Why do you say that?
That's part of the spell?
Part of the spell.
Okay.
A reflex save for half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage.
Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. Half damage. It's just, it's on me. 28 points of damage.
Oh, wait a minute.
It's not AOE.
It's... Didn't you have...
It's any time I think you roll a reflex save.
Right?
If exposed to any effect that normally allows you to attempt to a reflex save for half damage,
you take no damage.
But is an effect falling?
If exposed to any effect.
Any effect is anything.
Is it?
Let me see.
There's a spell again.
Okay, no. You take all of the falling damage.
The reflex save is actually to have
the damage
from the contraction.
Ah, yes.
That makes sense.
Troy, you should have been rolling reflexes on those.
I haven't been taking any of them because of my DR.
Oh, because of your DR.
Yeah.
But I mean, a really good...
What are you rolling?
2d6?
It's 4d6.
4d6.
So I could take some, but I'll do it from here on out.
In the meantime, how much falling damage does he take?
28 points of damage.
And then roll a reflex save for the contractions.
Me?
Yeah.
When do the contractions...
They happen on Metra's turn, right? Oh, is it on Metra's
turn? I've been doing it on the person's turn,
but after, like, the turn after they fall.
After the first one, yeah. Okay, so. Maybe I'm wrong myself.
So keep doing it the way we're doing it. You're probably gonna pass
this save, and if...
Okay. So...
Well, we just said... But it should only contract
once around. Anyway,
I made it. Matthew's not doing it
correctly, but we'll continue doing it incorrectly just to stay.
Okay.
I didn't expect I'd have an ally in the pit.
Right.
He wasn't planning for a second fallout.
Right, right, right.
But one time per round, we're on Scarecrow's turn.
We have a second fallout.
It's Scarecrow's turn.
She stands up and attacks Dalgrim.
No shit!
God damn it!
Let's go Vital Strike. He just says, time to be a shit. God damn it. Let's go vital strike.
It just says, time to be a hero.
Lying prone on the ground.
One attack.
It is.
Don't tell me the number.
If it's not a natural one, I don't want to know it.
It is a hit.
Just roll the damage.
But plus four.
Save everybody time.
No, minus four.
You're taking more time.
It was a 35.
She's melee and I'm prone.
Oh, six is for everybody.
It doesn't matter. 13's melee and I'm prone. Oh, sixes for everybody. It doesn't matter.
13, 16.
Oh, boy.
33.
43 points of regular damage.
And then 11, 12, 13 points of fire damage.
Did you say 14?
Yes.
Okay.
This is bad.
Are you unconscious?
No.
No, no no
Oh I'm sorry
She just got up
So she doesn't have a full attack
Right right
Stands up
Lays out an attack
I don't think I can dismiss the pit
By the way
Dispel the pit
Oh
Well thank god I didn't jump in
Like an idiot
I just fell in like an idiot
Those are two very different
Kind of idiots
I'd rather be the latter
The giants are closing in on this fight now.
Things seem to be getting very interesting.
Seriously, like, worth the price of admission.
Right, even though they're not winning,
it's really a hell of a fight.
And it is Metra's turn.
Oh, it's all great.
Just scrambling around on the ground.
Just took a massive hit.
Massive.
Metra, get me
out of here! Sacrifice
everything you have!
Metra is going to fly down into the pit.
She's invisible. Wow.
She's invisible. Here's the plan.
Fly, speed of 60 feet.
As soon as you go into the pit, you take damage.
Because it's your turn.
We've been rolling on Skirkala's turn.
What? What? It's fine. Because it's your turn. We've been rolling it on Skirkos.
What?
What?
It's fine.
It's in... I mean, I can roll it, but that's what we've been doing it on.
You can only fly 60 feet, though.
Yes.
Oh, no.
Does yours...
Do you have a reach of 15 feet?
I mean, that's what I would ask.
No.
I'm not asking for a 15 foot reach
But a 5 foot reach
You can double fly and be down there next round
You're invisible she'll attack Dalgrith
Not you with a full attack
Unless Nestor
Or Baron kill her
Full attack does sound kind of like permadeath
Yes it does
Oh baby it's heating up
For the old battlegrounds.
You're having too much fun.
I'm having a good time over here.
Turn down the fun.
I'm actually having a lot of fun, too. I'm turning it up.
Turn down the fun.
It's the distance, man.
Fun-sicle.
I can't believe I rolled that natty four on the edge of the pit.
I mean, the other thing I could do is just fall.
Oh, take the damage?
Are you over the pit?
Would you lose your invisibility
By taking damage
From the fall
I would have to step up
No I'm
I mean
I'm flying
Where am I on the map
I'm flying about
Five feet away
From the pit at this point
Ah
So close
Maybe put trust in Baron
And this new fella
Who knew your daughter
That they can get the job done
And then you just gotta deal
With the pit contracting
On Dalgrith
But if they don't kill her, she'll kill Dalgrith.
I love when my words match the music.
I know.
It's great.
Yeah, they're cool.
Every once in a while it happens.
Okay.
I am going to fly down into the pit.
Fly down in the pit.
Double move.
Putting it all on the line.
And as my standard, I'm going to do a single move.
Okay.
And then I'm going to cast a spell while I'm going.
Why not?
Okay.
So two hit.
That's a 26 against touch AC.
26 against touch AC.
Roll spell resistance.
That is a 25.
That's good.
Okay.
Oh, sweet.
Roll a fortitude save.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
This is what I've been waiting for.
This is what I've been waiting for.
This is what I have been waiting for.
You're due.
She's undead.
Still a touch.
I rolled a 20.
That's a fail.
You have a body to disintegrate. It doesn't matter if you're undead. Still a touch. I rolled 20. That's a fail. You have a body to disintegrate.
It doesn't matter if you're undead.
It doesn't matter.
Is it a death effect?
No.
No.
Transmutation.
Trans-
It's just, it's a mutation.
It takes material, any material, and disintegrates it.
It's gone.
Any creature struck by the ray takes 2d6 points of damage for caster level.
Any creature reduced to zero or fewer hit points by the spell is entirely
Disintegrated
And can never resurrect
Leaving behind only a trace of dust
The equipment is unaffected
When used against an object
Oh equipment is unaffected
You can use it against an object
The ray effects
Even objects constructed entirely
of force, such as a forceful hand or a wall
of force, but not magical effects.
You get a fortitude save.
Yeah, you failed your fortitude save.
That doesn't matter.
So shall I roll that?
Roll the damage. Those damage dice?
She's flying down and as she enters the pit,
a little ball of energy.
I'm flying face first.
Don't be great looking.
I've seen this little green bead.
Little green ray.
Coming down to save his life.
It is 28d6 points of damage.
28d6?
Give it to me.
On average, that should be about 84 points damage, I believe.
It's 118 points of damage.
She is dead.
Yes!
Now, not unlike the Dullahan, you know she will rise again.
Don't cry.
Because you need that armor and your boat in a hungry pit.
But you hear an audible gasp from the giants as they start to close in on you.
And the gray-skinned giant throughout all of the raucous noise is just like yelling things
and giant to them that's like, kill them, finish the job that she couldn't do and all this stuff.
No, no, that's not cool.
As the giants start to close in on you, all of a sudden
everyone just stops because you
hear a sound like an earthquake approaching
in the distance. The giants
stop and turn in
unison with the
two of you that are above ground and
Metra, you look up. Dalgrith, you can't see what the hell
is going on down the bottom.
This massive gathering of giants
look up and see a huge army
crest the horizon
and begin to charge down the mountain
into the giant encampments,
their voices screaming in unison,
For Kragadon!
What?
The giants turn and rushing...
The dwarves of Kog'Maw!
Rushing down at the giant camps
of the dwarven armies of
Krogan. What?
Some of them are on horseback. Some of
them are just like running down,
sprinting at full speed, sliding down
the mountain. The giants turn away from you,
take to arms, and start to make
formations. Ah! The dwarves
are still coming down, running. You're just
garbled giant
language, all talking over each other.
You can't hear anything.
The captains and the lieutenants
are trying to yell commands
over the oncoming rush,
over the cries of the dwarves of Kragadan.
The giants start to stand their ground
in the front line,
level their spears
against the charging dwarves.
Giant archers in the back
knock arrows in their bows,
but the dwarves of Kragadan
continue charging
and yelling their dwarven war cries.
Baron, there's a lot going on,
but you hear that dwarven war cry
and you just feel lit up.
When both armies are within 40, 50 yards of each other,
all of a sudden, there is a loud, thunderous
BOOM!
that fills the air.
Everyone, the giants, the dwarves, all of you instinctively put your hands to your ears and it's just this like, eeeeeeeing as the ringing starts to fade out.
That thunderclap is followed by a loud roar
somewhere in the skies.
You just hear this like...
All of the dwarves running down the mountain
stop their charge, bump into each other
as they're coming down the hill
and look up as slowly...
There it is slowly
the sun goes out for a
moment and this side of the mountain
where all of this is happening
grows momentarily dark
as if it went from day to night
in a flash. You look
up and blotting out the sun
is the silhouette of a
gargantuan dragon nosediving towards all of you.
What?
The dwarves see this, and they start changing their ranks.
The archers step up in the front, knocking arrows, loading crossbows, ready to fire.
The dragon doesn't flinch as it just dives towards the gathering of armies.
And now as it gets much closer, you see that it's not just this gargantuan dragon, but there's
something riding it. There's a
huge figure riding the
dragon. Sitting astride the back
of this beast is an enormous giant
with violet-blue skin
and a long, grayish-white
beard. And he seems like he's clutching
something in his outstretched hand
as together they dive headlong
at the dwarven army the dwarven
archers let loose arrows you see a flurry of arrows come up and they're immediately turned
to dust as the dragon swoops over the armies of kragadon raining down fire on all of them
burning them alive you just see small charred bodies fall to the ground as the back lines begin their
retreat back up the mountain, going
the opposite way, fighting their way
up the hill. The giants step up and
one by one start putting killing blows
on the burnt bodies that are crawling
away from the battlefield as
the dragon with the huge giant
atop its back just keeps sweeping
and burning them. The entire
camp is in pandemonium.
Dalgrith is in the bottom of a pit.
Metro is flying down to save him.
And Baron and Nestor Coyne, friends by chance yet again,
see the storm tyrant flying over the world.
And we'll see you next week!
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh next week. Oh my god!
The world is ending!
