Last week on the Glass Cannon Podcast.
Let's not be too hasty. We could just end the podcast here and go home.
You know what? It's not a terrible idea.
As the castle sped through the sky.
This is insane.
This is insane!
The heroes found themselves in an aerial dogfight.
This thing's on its last paws.
Please get it.
Please. Honestly, this is very
unpleasant. Dodging attacks
from the giants below. And now
it's the cloud giant's turn. They
are going to
attack.
Deathbringer! Bring it!
To start. Never seen a cloud giant
before. Here we go.
Here comes. Let's see what you got.
They were able to achieve air superiority.
And you kill it and knock it out of the sky.
Yeah!
Yeah!
Oh, strike two, bravo.
Cute.
Cute.
Nice.
That's a confirmed kill, zero two.
Or so they thought.
Here's what happens to the Yaukwai.
You knock it unconscious, knock it below zero hit points, and it
starts falling. On its turn,
fast healing an axe.
And it wakes up
30 feet below, looks
up at you. The adventure
continues. Alright nerds, get a
room. Trying to place
a Pathfinder over here.
No. It is really hot in here.
It is uncomfortably warm.
And it's making me very tired.
Yeah, most people don't know.
We record seven to eight months in advance.
It's mid-August.
That's what it feels like in here. Grant is removing layers of clothing. It's mid-August. That's what it feels like in here.
Grant is removing layers of clothing.
It's making me uncomfortable.
Yep.
Grant, you look great, but there's time and place.
I can see his chest pube.
I have 18 chest hairs, and I've named all of them.
They're like my children.
Bobby, Tommy, Ricky, Donnie.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Yeah, it's really uncomfortable, and we can't open the windows because, as Kit just pointed out, everyone that drives by here has their muffler removed.
Yeah.
I don't know what it is.
It's some kind of lowrider club with its headquarters in Astoria or something.
But one out of every 10 motor vehicles out there
has no muffler.
It's really loud.
And every motorcycle in town,
it's like the Hell's Angels is outside
right when we start recording.
Yeah, it's like Altamont's out there
for some fucking reason.
We could have put on the AC, I guess.
That's not that ridiculous.
I use AC all year round.
Why didn't we think of that?
I said earlier, well, we should do it.
And we have the solar panels. It's like we're not wasting energy. Great,'t we think of that? I said earlier, well, we should do it. And we have the solar panels.
It's like,
we're,
yeah,
we're not wasting.
Great.
We're going to crank that up,
get some cool air in there.
Cause we got a lot going on in this upcoming app.
I feel like,
and,
and I'm not going to make it through the next five.
I was going to say,
I thought that the,
with what we left off with last week,
this seemed like an app that could just be a nice,
long,
slow,
quiet sort of app.
Leisurely.
Just really.
Allegedly stroll through a flying castle.
Did you enjoy Flying Combat so far?
Yeah.
Oh, man, I loved it so far.
It's a little chunky and, you know, we'll we probably get a b minus on the the final exam for flying combat but uh i i like it in some ways i don't like it in others i like
it in that it's different it's new there's a lot more danger obviously if you go unconscious
you know it's it's different for the yagwai to go unconscious than you guys go unconscious you
would just slowly uh drift although um with this castle moving at the speed at which it's moving,
if someone went unconscious, yeah, they would slowly fall to the ground
for X amount of feet, and then that would just give way,
and they'd keep falling.
But I don't think you'd be able to grab them in time,
which would be interesting.
So in that respect, I like flying combat.
It adds a few X factors.
What I don't like about it is the three dimensions.
The three dimensions, it's like, it just bugs me.
It bugs me because it's imperfect.
Yeah, it doesn't bother me at all.
I know it doesn't bother you.
It bothers you because you enjoy nickel and diming.
I do.
Movement.
And I do not enjoy nickel and diming movement.
It's true.
And that brings me to a nickel and dime kind of question that I didn't even think of until you just brought it up.
Dime me. me to a nickel and dime kind of question that i didn't even think of until you just brought it up dime me how is it that we don't have to spend one full move action every round just to stay in our
square i had the same thought like shouldn't we be isn't this entire map moving every round oh yeah
yeah sure we're not within an inertia bubble here that'll carry us yeah the way i looked at it is
like when those vents started shooting out it's like gearing up and so you're moving in six second increments you know by the end of this
combat decisions are going to need to be made no i'm with you i mean i think it's kind of ludicrous
to assume that those things would fire up and one minute later a small city-sized you know rock
just takes off at 30 feet a second or whatever.
Like it,
it seems unlikely to move that fast,
but I was worried that that's something you forgot.
Dude,
we can't do any full attack actions.
It's like,
it's complicated enough.
Um,
need not make it extra complicated with that.
But you know,
I did have a picture I wanted to show you guys of,
uh,
the Yau Guai and,
uh,
like a chain battle with the Iconics.
Oh, cool.
Yeah, it's pretty good.
I'll put it up in a second.
But anyways, overall, you're enjoying the flying combat.
I think it's pretty cool.
Yeah.
So is it meant to be a flying combat or is there a version of it where you have to like
climb up the chains, then climb up onto the platform and you're dealing with them all
in that small little semicircle platform?
Oh, sure.
I mean, there's a version of it where like none of you can fly and you're dealing with them all in that small little semicircle platform. Oh, sure. I mean, there's a version of it where, like,
none of you can fly and you're just climbing up the chain
and there's a fight on the chain, which is
interesting because then it's like you fall off the chain and see ya.
There's a version where you could get up on the platform
and fight there. There's a version where this doesn't
even happen here. What?
What?
There's a lot of versions.
Okay. I will start spinning around
circling the entire castle and see other entrants. That's not necessarily the case. Okay. I will start spinning around circling the entire castle.
See other entrants.
That's not necessarily the case.
It's not moving yet.
He just admitted it.
It's spinning.
All right.
So you guys probably can't see all of this, but I'll shrink it down.
This is from the book.
Isn't that cool?
There's Ezrin and the Barbarian.
Yeah, this is so's just so stupid.
Like, it's great artwork, but what's her name?
The barbarian?
Amiri.
Amiri is just literally leaping off the chains, both giant sword in both hands, about to slay
one of these flying creatures.
It looks awesome, but like, well, what happens after she hits?
She just immediately falls to her permanent death, right? very cool concept in art i think not playable i think
she's counting on the attack of opportunity from the yagwai grappling her and holding her aloft
that's smart that's that's 40 chess i remember before we even started this podcast just fingering
through the pages and going to book six. Is that not a phrase?
All right.
Pause for edit.
You gave a look.
They even looked at Grant and said,
well,
we'll cut that out.
Joe,
that actually is the phrase.
It's just taken on a new meaning in the 21st century.
Joe and I looked at each other like we both took a sip from milk that just went down at the same time.
At the same time.
Just a sour look.
I didn't give any inflection to that whatsoever.
Leafing through the pages?
There you go.
I was leafing my fingers.
Although that's problematic for dendrophiliacs.
And I saw this image very early on.
I thought, I don't know what's going on there, but how the hell are we going that we're not applying this game uh very very cool to see it uh actually come out and that is
uh yes per uh you know he's edging yeah yes bridging the guy does the cover art and like i
said you guys off air i think he did the cloud giants too so talented i just love his style but
that's very cool same thing with ezran he's just jumping off what i mean maybe he's flying he can fly though yeah he's probably flying yeah uh and just he's
got like shocking grasp ready to rain down it's very very cool and you see how big these creatures
are uh by comparison to a medium-sized humanoid yeah and you can also see that it is uh to scale in that Amiri is about half the height of one link of the chain.
That's how big those links are.
Yeah.
That's another cool thing to see, the actual chain.
Very interesting.
And look how far below Galarian is.
Oh, dear.
That is cool.
That is cool.
I love that. Well, one and now two of your Yaguais are plummeting that distance right now.
Yeah.
Joe, you had some interesting math about this.
You did some Pathfinder research, and then you did some true scientific research.
And what did you determine about the falling rate of a creature?
I determined that to just make it easy and to round it out,
it's about 30 feet a second that you accelerate as you fall.
So in one second, you would fall 30 feet.
And then in second two, you would fall 60 feet.
And then in second three, you would fall 90 feet.
So you'd be at 180 feet in three seconds.
And in a round, if you fell for a full round,
you'd be around 500 feet something
like that you'd fall and then it kind of stays at that speed 500 feet around right around there
right i think that i think that that's right in terms of of actual physics so it sounds about
it sounds like it's plummeting yeah yeah yeah because the the example i gave to troy because
it does sound like the way that we play you're like oh six seconds is like that you know i mean
rounds or heartbeats all that kind of stuff. And it sounds like a little
crazy, like, oh, if the creature went unconscious one round later, it's 500 feet away, and it's
going to take minutes to get back into the fight or whatever, right? Less than that, but you get
what I'm saying. It's kind of like, wow, that seems like a little far, but then I was like,
okay, imagine us on the roof of our building, which is four stories.
That's 40 feet.
Now imagine jumping off.
How long do you think?
And I was like, one, splat.
Like just before you get to two, you will smash into the street.
So like it is that fast when you're really free falling.
It's fast.
Well, there's a little calculator someone at Casio.com made up, and it's height equals one
half of gravity times time squared. So gravity being 9.8 meters a second. I'm getting very
similar to Joe. In six seconds of free falling time, you would fall on Earth at 579.13 feet.
I remember looking at that as well, too. On the Paizo board, someone gave that same equation, because I remember
579 being the number. It's interesting.
Now, then the question is, like, when he goes
unconscious, does he fall right then?
Probably. Or does he fall on his
turn? I don't know.
Just kind of like, at some point, you're like, ah, I'm making
it up! But the point is, he starts to fall,
and his fast healing kicks in,
and he wakes up.
And then he has to roll several
flight checks.
Well, he took damage,
first of all, but he went unconscious.
For me, it's like, I'm going to have him
roll a flight check to see if he
catches himself. He does.
Natty 18. So he catches
himself. I'm going to say he's pretty far away
from you. In fact, I'll say he's 500 feet
away from you. So you see him fall out of the sky and just watch him drop if any of you watch and just
his eyes wake up and he catches himself and he's 500 feet away and the castle takes off leaving
him behind wait my baby's on that castle i mean and and technically speaking each one of our turns
is six seconds.
So if you add 30 seconds for five in between that round and this one, he would be 14,000 feet away from us.
Which, if we're not 14,000 feet high, means he would have hit the ground and made an Acme Looney Tunes-esque entrance.
Just in one round, if it was six seconds, by the way, one other interesting thing, he would have been going 131 miles per hour.
Apparently, after 30 seconds free-falling, you'd be going 658 miles an hour.
Well, it's only six seconds total among all of us.
Yeah.
So that would be five rounds.
In five rounds, he'd be going 130 miles an hour?
If it's six seconds total, yeah.
131.
Well, it's interesting.
From the beginning of the round to the end of the round,
well, this is interesting.
From the beginning of the round to the end of the round,
six seconds pass.
Right.
It's all supposed to be kind of happening at the same time.
It's all kind of happening at the same time, yeah.
He falls.
He's down there.
He wakes up, but he's very far away.
So he'll double fly up back towards you guys,
and he's still 540 feet away from you.
I mean, not nickel and dime you.
I mean, I know you love it, but I think that that fly check should be as round
because, I mean, you can't, with that inertia,
turn around and go up a double move in an instant, right?
That's fair.
He needs an action to just slow his fall.
I'll split the difference and say he can go 30 feet as opposed to 60.
Deal.
He's 470 feet away.
Is he ascending at a 45-degree angle?
He is at a 46-degree angle.
He's switchbacking up.
If it's 46, does he need to – oh, no, it's under 45.
It's under 45.
It's a problem.
He's like, I'll see you in a few rounds.
It is the
cloud giant's turn dalgryth you have flown up to the top of this area we'll say it's 20 feet up
uh outside of the range uh of the uh cloud actually no it would have to be further than that
um yeah like a 40 foot doorway yeah 40 foot doorway like an enormous epic archway into this double door is sort of what I pictured.
Okay, so yeah, we'll say that the height of the ceiling is 40 feet, and you're all the way at the top to make sure that you're out of their range.
Now, they've got really good range, much more than most giants you've faced, but still, they cannot attack you from the ground.
from the ground.
However, the giant at the bottom of the stairs, the one
that thought he was being burned alive
by a shadow volcanic storm,
puts his hands to his side
and levitates.
No!
Oh, didn't expect it.
Didn't expect. Of course, it's a
cloud giant. Why wasn't I thinking?
Of course it can fly.
He is still uh 40 feet away from you but has now closed the height distance by 20 feet now wait how does
levitate work can you can you walk on air i thought that was a spell you can just go up and down right
when he reaches like the ceiling he can push himself along towards you at half speed okay
yeah like a zero g yeah
we've done this if we didn't do it on the podcast we've done it on another show where you guys
it brings a bell normally levitated yeah normally that was gormley's jam and she just pushed a little
but what ceiling did you push along the wall too the wall yeah was it in the thorns was in the
vault of thorns maybe could have been we weren't in there that long because by then she had fly
and she died oh but I think when we were
defending True Now,
she kind of moved along the crenellated towers
sometimes. Yeah, we definitely, we probably
did it wrong. But I remember you pushing yourself
along for movement.
Well, that's what this guy's about to do. He floats
up. Oh my god.
I did not expect that. Whoops!
Oh no!
That is his turn.
So, now I'm going to have the other guys throw some rocks.
One we'll throw at Metro to start.
Natural 20.
Oh!
I was just saying.
Starting the ep hot.
Just saying.
I hadn't had a 20 in a while.
Before we went live, I'm like, I really haven't had a lot of 20s.
Critical, Fred. Critical, Fred. Critical. Critical! Just saying. I hadn't had a 20 in a while before we went live. I'm like, I really haven't had a lot of 20s. Critical threat.
Critical threat. Critical. Critical.
I was embarrassing. Now,
probably won't confirm, but
and may not even hit you because there's still five
of you, right? Or four images
and you. All right. To confirm,
natural 20 on the confirm.
Oh, no. Get a third
damage. Holy shit.
Wow. That's great. That's, I really wanted to hit triple damage. Holy shit. Wow.
That's great.
I really wanted to hit you, though.
That's going to be such a bummer.
There are five of me.
What's the rule when you confirm a 20 on a 20?
It goes through mirror image, right?
It hits the main target of the mirror. It hits the main target.
I think so.
Three 20s is an auto kill.
Son of a bitch.
So go for a third 20.
All right.
So a D6.
Charlie, ignore the six.
Roll it again.
Yeah, roll it. So if I get a third 20, it hits you So D6. Charlie, ignore the 6. Roll it again. Yeah, roll it.
So if I get a third 20, it hits you?
No.
I just want to see what happens.
You're taking away my 20.
16.
All right.
Roll a D6.
Ignore 6.
5 hits you.
1 through 4.
Oh, come on.
5.
I'll do it right in front of you, Matthew.
1.
Nice.
You know what? You destroy what I do. Thanks, buddy. I appreciate that. You know what?
You destroy one of the images.
Thanks, buddy.
I appreciate that.
You're a real killer.
Hell out.
Chain of 20s and I blow up an image.
All right.
So three images, one Metra.
Let's throw another rock at you.
Let's throw some rocks at this whole Metra equation.
That is a miss with a 94.
Why aren't they throwing at Dalgrith?
I'm curious.
This guy's going to take care of Dalgrith.
Floaty McGillicuddy's going to take care of him.
Floaty McGee.
Floaty McClugfish.
You know what sucks is like now you're cornered.
Do you know what I mean?
Because now you can't be like, I can just fly over him because now he can catch you if you try.
Really interesting.
I'm interested.
Where did he go?
He just went up to the ceiling?
No, he's still got another 20 feet to go to hit the ceiling.
So next round, he could go 20 feet up, get the ceiling, and then use the rest of his movement to move half speed and walk towards you.
Okay.
Like push along with his mace.
He's got a big fucking morning star in his hand.
Okay.
That is their round. Don't forget
the Yagwai is 470 feet away.
It is Baron's turn.
Okay, so question for the purposes
of grit bookkeeping.
The first Yagwai... Grit keeping?
Grit keeping. Hashtag grit keeping.
Did I kill that
Yagwai? I reduced it below zero
hit points, so I think I get my grip point back.
I think that is the way the text is.
Yep.
So then I am...
No, you're faulty at fast healing.
I'm doing good.
I'm going to spend that grip point immediately to clear my gun as a move equivalent.
Well, actually, I really can't do anything.
So I'm just going to clear it as a stand.
You want to take a shot at the Yagwai, 19 range increments away?
At a minus 24.
You'd probably still hit.
Natural 20.
Natural 20.
To confirm, 90, 18.
Is it range on a firearm pretty much infinite if you're just firing straight down?
It should be.
Hey, falling bullets kill.
Yeah.
ring straight down.
Should be.
Hey, falling bullets kill.
Yeah.
What is the curvature of the Coriolis effect
when the curve of the earth
affects the arc of the bullet
of the snipers?
Yeah.
So Baron will spend
a standard action
and keep the grip point,
clear the misfire
from his gun,
and begin moving
towards the platform
to go help out Dalgrith.
Very cool.
I forgot all about the misfire.
All right.
So Baron clears his gun.
It is Metra's turn.
Okay.
Metra is going to swing around to the front.
I get 60 feet of movement.
So basically she's going to come to the south of the platform.
I'll move in a second.
Swing around. You see that big ballista
there? Yeah. The ballista looks very
similar to the one that was on top of the tower.
Obviously it doesn't have a catapult attached to it
as well, but similar in make.
Okay, I need the
easternmost giant
to please roll.
Clarence? Clarence
needs to roll a will flex
save. A reflex save. A will flex save.
A will flex save. I'll tell you what, he's got a pretty good
will flex. That means I get to
combine will and reflex and do one roll, right?
Yeah, add them together. That makes it so much easier.
Ooh, that
is going to be...
For you, this is a tweener. that's that's a fail he falls into
a hungry hungry pit oh yes see you that's what the damn levitate all right so he falls into a
hungry hungry hip-hop is that a an extra dimensional space or does it actually dig
into the ground that he's standing on it It is an extra dimension. Yeah, wouldn't that be cool? Make a hole. Because he's standing on this ledge.
Just cast make hole.
Make hole.
Make hole.
I don't, unfortunately.
It sounded like Nick Lowe offering a suggestion.
Just cast make hole.
I've learned a lot from playing with Nick.
Wait, you didn't take the homonymical spellcasting feat?
Homonymical metamagic feat?
Oh, that would be very useful.
So you're going to take 76 of falling damage. I'm just going to metamagic feet. Oh, that would be very useful. So you're going to take 76 of falling damage.
I'm just getting my dice roller up.
That's right.
A little fall damage.
A little fall guy.
25 points of falling damage.
I believe you get another reflex save for that, right?
It's been a long time since I cast this.
Yeah, I do get.
So the first save is to see if I fall in.
The second one is to see if you take half.
And then I get a reflex save to see if I take half.
20.
Fail.
Okay, so 25 points of damage.
And then on...
And then the pit contracts.
On whose turn?
We usually do it
on my turn, right?
Or we do it on your turn?
What does the rule say?
Does it say?
It says...
Creatures who fall
into the hole
take falling damage
as normal.
In addition,
anyone within the pit,
not just those on the bottom,
takes 46 points of bludgeoning damage
each round as the pit contracts
and then returns to its normal size. Yeah, just do it right now.
Round could happen. So we'll just do it on your turn
each time. So the pit
gets its parasolsus effect
on you.
15 points of damage.
15 points of damage.
And you're prone 70 feet into this extra dimensional hungry, hungry pit.
Hungry, hungry pit.
Okay.
That's fine.
It is Nestor's turn.
Nestor is going to do a fly check to see if he can hover where he is.
That is a 12.
Oh, that's a fail.
Wait, I'm sorry.
I'm just trying to wrap my head around the math for that.
Why is it that low?
You know you get a plus seven from her, right?
Oh, oh, oh, right.
Okay, so that's 20.
20, okay, yeah.
DC 15, you can hover. The pits around the eastern. I actually got my own math wrong. Oh, the far guy, so that's 20. 20. Okay, yeah. DC 15, you can hover.
The pits are on the eastern side.
I actually got my own math wrong at the beginning.
Oh, the far guy.
The far guy.
My fly skill...
I don't know why I have a fly skill of six, but I do.
And then...
It's your dex.
Oh, right. Okay.
All right.
Cool.
So, having done that,
he is going to unleash his full fury
at the closest giant.
The one.
Oh, wait.
Is that one in the pit?
No, I put the pit on the wrong space.
So he is going to unleash full attack on the closer of the two giants.
Okay.
First attack is a 31 to hit.
That is a hit.
All right.
With the many shots.
Many shots. Many shots!
Many shots!
49 points of damage.
Second attack.
23 to hit.
That's a miss.
23.
All right.
And fourth attack.
That is a miss, too. Oh, well. 22. That is a miss, too.
Oh, well, 22.
22 is a miss as well.
And it sucked.
Terrible rolls.
Got one good hit off, though.
Did some damage.
Now they've all been damaged.
Well, they all have been from the volcanic storm, but now they're taking some signet damage.
Question for you.
Yes.
So Baron is at the same height he was so he started at the level of where the wind tunnel was right
do you know what i'm saying but wherever the base of that was at the beginning of 10 feet below yeah
and then he fell another five feet remember to take that full attack action the first one against
the right he flew five feet down so i've just flown straight forward from that height to be at the uh as you can see on the map the edge
of the platform they're standing of okay you're 15 feet below them am i able to see them not from
there no okay then i will not take my targets of opportunity i can't baron is too low beneath this
platform to be able to do yeah um if you were a little away, I might let you get a shot off with cover.
Right.
At an angle.
In that place, you can't really see them.
But right at the edge, I can just see the cliff, the outcropping of this platform.
Yeah, you see the bottom of the platform sticking out.
Got it.
Okay.
That was Metra and Nestor.
It's Dalgrith.
Dalgrith!
Ah!
Corner!
I'm going to do a bunch of free actions.
First, I'm going to do a perception on the door.
I just want to see a little more details of the door while I'm here, just five feet away from it.
That is a 27.
27.
It looks like just a huge, beautiful wooden door.
Engravings or anything?
Or it is ornate?
Yeah, it's ornate,
with images of clouds and swirls.
It's really beautiful.
Doesn't seem like evil.
Any obvious defenses?
Any, you know, anything that's sort of like,
I don't know,
any weapons sticking out from any arrow
holes i didn't know okay um then he's gonna do a knowledge check on the cloud giant um
real quick uh that's not local okay uh man 23 23 i can give you a one piece
one chunk one thing i want to know and i don't know if I have to pay a knowledge check for it, is I'd like to know their reach.
Okay.
You want to pay for that?
Sure.
Yeah.
It's 15 feet.
Oh, I figured.
Okay.
And their move speed.
Can't tell you that.
Matthew, how big is the Hungry Pit?
Is that correct correct or is it
I believe it's 10 by 10
Oh they're too big to even fall
In it that's what I was gonna
Say that pit doesn't
It can't fall in it's too big
It only gets one of his legs and he snaps his
Femur
It's clearly what happens can he fall in and be stuck
Because he's so
Wide here's a reddit Post right here can huge feature That's clearly what happens. Can he fall in and be stuck? Because he's so wide.
Here's a Reddit post right here.
Can huge creatures fall into Create Pit?
15 by 15 creatures do not fit into a 10 by 10 foot space.
Duh.
I mean, I'd argue that he's not.
He's not a 15 by 15 block.
He's not.
But he takes up that amount of space.
Yeah, so it's like, yeah, a lot of people are saying, nope, nope, nope.
Oh, here's James Jacobs weighing in on this.
What does he say?
I hope he says something that benefits me.
Me too.
No, I don't.
I hope he benefits me.
If a create pill, create pill, create pit spell pops up under any creature
that fits in said pit that creature has to make the initial save to not fall regardless of how
many squares of its space are synonymous with the pit squares yeah the disadvantage for being a large
creature is more that since you have four squares of space you have four times the chance to be in
one of those squares neighboring a pit at the end of your turn.
That doesn't really answer my question.
No.
I'm going to say he cannot fall in.
Well, then I wouldn't have cast it.
Okay.
So let's take it back.
I'm going to give him his hit points back.
Yes, no.
Now what do I want to do?
I know.
Greater invisibility.
I have to get to you first.
Who said that?
We're so many rounds away from each other.
It's not even a consideration.
We're so far away from each other.
So far away from me.
All right.
Well, in that case, I'm going to uncheck hold monster or hungry pit.
We probably got crazy.
All right, you know what?
Let's just do a hold monster.
No, I don't want to do that.
I don't want to do that.
I don't want to do that.
Okay, instead I want to...
I'm not even supposed to be here today.
I'll just do a disintegrate.
Okay.
It's probably gonna pass but
Fortitude right? I gotta hit you first
Okay please
Natural 20
Are we talking magic crit town?
Magic crit? I'll take the hunger pit
You gotta confirm it
Natural 17
29 to confirm
Confirmed disintegrate
Critalicious
How does this work though
Because now he has to roll the fortitude save to see if he takes the
Massive damage or the puny damage
Let's see what the text
Of the spell
I'll roll the fortitude save
28 passes
So puny damage but that puny damage
Could be doubled or tripled
Or quadrupled
Or much much worse Okay So puny damage, but that puny damage could be doubled or tripled. Or quadrupled.
Or much, much worse.
Okay.
Let's see what Genki in London has to say. Oh, Genki.
Hi, Genki.
I'm sure Genki loves that accent.
Hello, Genki.
Hello there, Genki.
Want some catberry?
You sound like you're from London town.
Oh my gosh.
Are you blind?
Why are you speaking?
Why?
Poor blimey.
That's in Birmingham.
Same thing to us, Yanks.
Top of the morning to you, Genki.
Genki is regretting every little thing from the show ever. Good day, mate. Good day, Genki. Here and go brah, Genki. Genki is regretting ever listening to the show ever.
Good day, mate.
Good day, Genki.
Here and go brah, Genki.
Put another shrimp on the Genki.
Joe has a look on his face that just looks defeated.
He's reading a novel that he wishes he could put down.
This submission is no less than 500 words.
Oh, no.
We need to put a limit on these.
No fewer than 500 words.
No fewer.
Okay.
This is cool as hell, but it is crazy.
Okay.
And it has nothing to do with disintegrate.
So it's a confirmed crit, so it doesn't matter if he saves or not.
The damage is going to be the same.
All right, here we go.
Genki from London, England, frozen in time.
Your magical attack lands with such ferocity you create a rift between the physical plane and the astral plane.
Freezing time for everyone
except you. For 1d3
rounds. What?
So you get to roll 1d3
and you get that many free
rounds. Each round you
have to do within the rules, but
everyone, all of us and all the creatures are
frozen for three rounds. So you're gonna get
up to three more free rounds.
Like fucking Quicksilver.
It says for the duration of rounds, equal number of your allies
and opponents are completely frozen in place and you can use those rounds
in any way you wish. For example,
you could use your movement speed, you could do a melee attack,
anything's against flat-footed AC,
it says, attacks.
You could heal yourself, you could heal an ally,
you could cast spells that
require a full round action, like they listed all
the possible things you could do.
That is really cool, and it kind of works for Disintegrate,
even though it succeeded on its Fortitude save.
Like, it's a very powerful magic to crit with, and it stops space and time.
Here's another reason it's really long.
For the purposes of character roleplay, the player cannot confer with his or her teammates
and must make decisions independently based on the character, allies, and opponents
or whatever.
Anyway, basically, you can't say, like, I'm actually down on HP right now.
You know what I mean?
Like, you're frozen.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, give me double damage on the first.
Let's roll out the damage and then see what you want to do here.
So disintegrate on a save becomes 5d6.
So this is 10d6.
So not that puny.
It's a six level spell.
Is it 5d6 or is it 10d6 halved?
It's 2d6 per caster level if you fail the save.
It's 5d6 if you make the save.
It's a great spell.
Yeah.
Well, the thing is, it's a weird combo with giants.
They have incredibly low touch AC, but incredibly high fortitude among a lot of the creatures you're going to face.
So 30 points of damage.
Okay. Alright, I have in my hands
a D3. Oh, you do!
Sneaky! You did that right,
right? Because isn't that
maximum? Did you roll 5 sixes?
I rolled 10 D6
and got 30.
Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you said it was 5 D6.
But it's doubled.
Right, right, right.
30 points of damage. Roll that d3 and come up with a 1.
It says it's normal crit modifier bonus.
Two extra rounds.
Wow.
What do I want to do?
You can't ask!
I wasn't asking any of you. I was asking myself.
What to do?
Shut up, everybody's mic. Matthew, talk to the audience.
Talk them through what you want to do.
Move standard, move standard.
What do you want to do. Move standard, move standard.
What do you want to do? Free action.
What do I want to do?
It's actually a pretty incredible moment. Hold on. I want to get like a
like an ethereal
sort of sound or something. You could like pull his
pants down.
Seriously, tie their shoes
together. Stick his finger up his nose.
Do you have something with a clicking uh clock in it ticking clock in it because that would be very cool
yeah that'd be cool it won't be annoying at all come on matthew what are you gonna do we got
heartbeats on the show all the time you haven't stopped the time on the show first things first
uh metro is gonna fire off a fireball. Oh, God. Nice.
So I'm assuming they're flat-footed and they can't move, so they are denied their reflex save.
So they are all going to take the same damage.
You can't do a reflex save.
You can't do a reflex save and you're flat-footed.
I don't care for that.
That's amazing.
You sure?
No, I'm saying they're frozen in time.
They can't do a reflex save.
That makes sense.
It's not not their turn.
It's that they cannot move.
What did it say technically?
It said you're flat-footed?
I think he used the word flat-footed.
That's the only reason I'll lobby for it.
Because if he's flat-footed, he does get his reflex save.
Then I want you to role-play doing a reflex save while being frozen in time.
It says, for example, you can melee attack or spell attack for the additional rounds against flat-footed AC.
That's just against the AC.
Right.
Yeah, you have frozen time.
All right, I'm going to allow it.
So they all take 38 points of fire damage.
Okay.
Does the one levitating up to Dalgris level take that?
It's a big enough explosion?
He's 20 feet up.
Does it go 20 feet and up?
Yeah, that's the exact radius.
Perfect.
20 feet radius spread.
All right, 38 points of damage?
Yep.
Jeepers. Well, if he's 20 feet up, then he's exact radius. Perfect. Radius spread. All right, 38 points of damage? Yep. Jeepers.
Well, if he's 20 feet up, then he's exactly out of it.
I can position the bubble.
Oh, right, right, to catch them both.
Imagine like a muffled fireball.
All right, now you're still...
Do you want to move?
I guess I'm going to say you've frozen time,
so you don't have to worry about hover checks either.
Yeah, well, I'm going to move every round unless unless there's something about a natural one
we shouldn't be rolling hover checks we all auto pass hover checks at this level okay then it's dc
15 i was realizing because if you're you're plus 14 or plus plus plus six plus naturally and then
plus 13 so you do have to roll yeah okay you You just have to roll a three or higher, and you're fine. So then Metro will move 60, fly 60 feet across the platform.
Okay.
They're all frozen.
They can't take attacks of opportunity.
Nope.
It says it right here.
It does not provoke any AOs.
She will then fly to...
This is cool.
With an X from two dog wrists.
Actually, she'll fly just beyond him.
Oh, my God.
This is so cool.
And final action
cast greater invisibility on dog
oh man that is very very cool so amazing and she takes a free action to say what a day
thank you genki thanks genki oh thank you genki that was fantastic wow what a turn that seems
like something you'd get in a board game it really does yeah just a bunch of extra turns
you're like this is so unfair land ring in the licorice lake on candy land oh wait can i when
i did those fireballs did they seem to take that full damage got to a perception check
uh yeah no they took it they took full damage. Can I do a perception check? Yeah, no, they took it.
They took full damage.
I can just tell you.
So no resistance to fire.
It does not appear so.
Well, I mean, actually, literally, according to the crit,
it all happens when time starts again.
They take all the damage at once.
It's stacked up.
Like everything on.
What is happening?
That is a cool one.
That is a cool one.
That was Metra's turn, right?
Yeah, so it's back to Nestor.
See, you could have just taken the Hungry Pit.
I should have just taken the Hungry Pit.
No, it's Dalgrith's turn.
Because remember, we went back and redid her turn.
Oh, that's right.
We went back and did...
I thought Nestor already went, so it is Dalgrith's turn.
You are greater invisibled.
Oh, Jadula.
Oh, my God.
She all of a sudden appears behind him and he can see that like he's
invisibly just.
Yes.
Um,
so what does that mean?
What does that mean?
What does that mean?
That means he is going to fly up to the levitating giant.
Okay.
So you fly down cause he's only 20 feet up right
now. Yep.
So he'll fly 20 feet down as I
said. And they do have sense to remember
so. Yeah it doesn't
change anything. No. Because you know when I'm
on him he just attacks me anyway. Yeah.
With a 50% mischance so it just doesn't matter.
So he's
going to fly down
and now I want to argue that he could draw his weapon
as he's flying and grab onto him as the, as the climb check.
Oh, well you can definitely draw the weapon because you're moving.
Because he's flying.
I'm saying he doesn't need both hands free to grab him right now.
He's just flying up to him.
You know what I mean?
So you don't need to climb onto him.
Right?
He just has to grab something.
Right.
Yeah, I think that's fine.
Now, just remember with scent, I don't think I'll have to roll the 50% miss chance.
Because I can pinpoint your location.
It doesn't matter.
I'm invisible.
If you had an invisible creature and I had scent,
I know exactly what square they're in.
Would you still have me roll a 50% mischance?
Well, it depends.
If scent doesn't let you pinpoint the location,
I don't think you have to.
No, we've done this.
Like, I have had, I have scent.
I know, but maybe we've done it wrong.
No, no, you know the location.
Just knowing the location does not mean you don't have any concealment.
You can still have concealment and still know someone's location.
This is the same issue of him not taking up a 15-foot cube worth of space because he's 15 by 15.
Like, it's not—that invisible creature doesn't inhabit all of that five square.
Yeah, you're right.
It does not negate concealment or mischance of any kind.
They can just determine what square they're in,
but it still has the full mischance.
They can just do a very focused attack.
It's not random.
They know they're in that square,
but they still have to roll 50%,
and so the sent ability does not change anything
for the purposes of Dalgrith's.
It's a fair question,
and that's why there's 40 forums on this.
Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm saying we've had this question
and we've done it in the past.
Who had sent? I mean, my animal companions
had sent. Barry Connick Jr.
Yeah, who else had sent? That's when it first came out.
In the SideQuest side sesh. Oh, um...
Alfonso. Alfonso had sent. Oh, yeah. And we did a whole combat
where he was attacking into an invisible square.
That's right. Interesting, yeah. Okay, so
yes, you can draw the weapon,
and your question is can you grab onto him in the same round?
Yeah.
The only reason I think I couldn't is because when I have gravity on me,
I need both hands free to kind of start that climb up.
But now I'm not really climbing up.
I'm just going to latch onto him with a hand.
With a hand.
Yeah, I think you should still roll a climb check.
It's not like you're rolling a CMB.
Totally.
You're rolling a climb.
Yeah, roll a climb.
That's fine.
All right.
Here comes climb check.
That is a 38 against CMD.
Just made it.
That was a bad roll.
Bad roll.
Just made it.
Yeah.
Their CMD is 37.
Ooh.
Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Yeah. Their CMD is 37. Ooh. Ooh.
Ooh.
Okay.
So he latches onto him.
One thing I will say to put myself at a disadvantage because of scent is I'm not, I don't know
that I know that they have scent.
I don't know how it affects this, but you may be able to take an aoo as i approach because of scent but you can't take
aos against anything with concealment though yeah no you can't you can't anything with cover you
can't concealment you can't uh i'm gonna say no because uh part of the scent thing is you have to
use a move action to pinpoint the location oh okay so i'm not doing that okay great so he'll swoop in
and latch on to the
dragon and just whisper it right into the uh giant and just whisper into his ear i've got you now
but you're nice son of a bitch uh it's the yaoguai's turn he flies 60 feet in some weird
patterns he doesn't have to roll any tricks you can double move that is double move he only flies
30 uh it's a fly speed of 30 it's cool cool. Yaguays are all different. They come with
this ability called Maker's Gift.
And you can, well, they've already
chosen in the Adventure Path what their Maker's Gift is.
And this Yaguay has flight. Not all
of them have flight. Some of them have. Oh, interesting.
Some of them have the constrict ability, for example.
It's pretty cool. He has flight,
but it's not very good. He's a clumsy
flyer. So he was
470. Now he's 410 away from you guys.
I don't think you have to worry too much about him.
All right, it's the Cloud Giant's turn.
Let's deal with the one that's on Dalgrith.
He's going to do a full attack action.
Three Morningstar Smackaroos.
Let me just make sure.
Oh, that's interesting.
No, I am going to put on Power Attack.
Oh, yeah.
Get my D20, get my D Hondas, 51 or higher, and they have to hit.
Oh, man, that's a lot of damage.
Here we go.
This is bull.
Why are you rolling all these dice?
Oh, you're rolling Concealment at the same time?
Yeah.
Okay.
Let's get it out of the way.
All right, that is going to be a 29 to hit.
Miss.
77 on the concealment.
Oh, man.
Got it.
And would a 33 have hit?
Don't worry about it.
Okay.
That was without power attack.
You know what?
I'll leave power attack on.
I'll allow it. All right. Come on. Come on, Nat 20. Nat 20 without power attack. You know what? I'll leave power attack on. All right.
Come on.
Come on, Nat 20.
Nat 20 could be bad.
All right.
This is going to be very close.
30 to hit.
Miss.
Oh!
Dodges it.
Wow.
Swings out of the way.
Now it's got to be a Nat 20.
Okay.
No.
25.
Yeah.
Oh! The last one. Don't burn him! Okay No, 25 Yeah And a 67
On the concealment
God, that would have been so much damage
That's the thing
That's the thing about this
Okay, let's deal with the other
Cloud Giants
The one that is nearest Baron
Will
Kind of clench his fist
towards his chest and
a fog cloud envelops
him.
Oh, no.
Oh, yes.
That is going to be
obscuring mist all around him
as a fog cloud envelops
him. The other one will...
So cool, Cloud Giant!
Yeah.
We're fighting Cloud Giant!
This is awesome.
We've come a long way since...
What was that first giant in book one with the chains?
Cave Giant.
Cave Giant.
Good call.
Bottle Cap.
Trivia Bottle!
Trivia Bottle Cap!
I still remember looking at the...
I think it's in the Giant Hunter's Handbook,
is the one page where they lay out all the giants.
And Cloud Giant is one of the biggest.
Yeah, it's the second biggest.
Storm Giant's the biggest?
Yeah, Storm Giant's the biggest, I think.
I'm assuming the Storm Tyrant is a Storm Giant.
You don't know?
I don't know.
You don't know, man.
He could be a lowly hill giant in disguise.
On Grensel Deck.
Someone else casts like a
thundercloud above his head all the time.
So he looks like his crown is a
thundercloud with lightning bolts.
Alright, one last giant.
The one that should be an hungry pit.
He is going to chuck a
rock at
Metra.
Yeah.
I'll chuck a rock at Metra. He's I'll check a rocket Metra.
He's got plenty of range.
You're right.
The door is there.
Seems like he's throwing through his friend's square, though, isn't he?
I think I got a clear shot.
Let me see.
Oh, because you can do from the outside corner.
Yeah, you got a clear shot.
Yeah.
Okay.
Here we go.
Ooh, it's going to be close.
Actually, no.
You've got a very good AC.
20.
Miss.
Miss. Miss.
The rock shatters on the wall, and the door doesn't even budge.
For the record, now hearing Baron's AC, I don't think I have a very good AC.
I definitely don't.
But I knew a 20 would be a miss.
You should all be above 20 at 14th level.
Okay, okay, I think that's everybody.
I'll go ahead and put that concealment on this, John.
Let me just let you know,
this is going to be...
Bank of fog billows out from the point you designate.
It'll be right on his space.
Creatures within five feet have 20%.
Farther away, 50%.
You don't need to know the rest of that spell
um the radius is 20 foot radius okay moving right along new round
baron sees these clouds billow off the edge of the ledge that these giants and ballista are standing on and it's like what the hell is
going on but he realizes after perhaps hearing from uh dalgrith after he did a knowledge check
on him that if he were to ascend to be on level with these giants they would most likely get a
hit on him so he's going to move backwards 10 feet horizontally and then move 15 feet upwards which i believe will require
a fly check correct yeah here it comes uh that is a total of a
you should get it automatically it's a 15 dc 15 yeah it's 15 i yeah it's uh
seven plus yeah it's 15 exactly. I rolled a four.
Oh, wow. So you actually do have to roll them then.
Because I went back 10 feet.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Great.
You and Nestor will have to roll at least above a certain number.
I am now eye level with this giant's pair of Air Jordans.
And we'll take a shot into the cloud.
A single shot.
Can you take a ranged attack against a creature with concealment?
No. No, nothing.
Well, total concealment. This creature
has total concealment from him. Yeah.
If you get within five feet, it'll have
that portion. Also,
I believe
you're using roll 20 mechanics and it's
messing up the mechanics of the game. I think you need
to change that R to 15 feet.
To account for the size of the giant? Yeah, because this is actually a larger fog cloud than the rules allow of the game, I think you need to change that R to 15 feet. To account for the size of the giant?
Yeah, because this is actually a larger fog cloud than the rules allow for.
Oh, I see, because it should just be the range of the giant, exactly.
Yeah, it's from the center of the giant out.
It's a belt.
It just takes up so much of the space of it.
Is that correct, though?
Yes, I think that is correct.
That's cool.
So that actually puts Dalgrith and the other guy in there as well.
It's tricky where Dalgryth standing,
but Dalgryth,
you're actually sharing a space with the giant,
right?
Uh,
yeah.
I mean,
you know,
depending on how you,
well,
he's in the cloud,
so,
but you're five feet away,
so it's only gonna be 20% mischance.
20% mischance.
The creature I'm on.
It's almost like being invisible.
Where is he?
It's like being invisible.
Where did he go?
I can't find him.
Let's see the weak spot. i'm three inches from his neck we're also invisible on his back and he's like where is he
so the aura as yourself as it is now on the map is accurate yes okay so then baron is going to
traipse around the edge of the uh with his second move action, the edge of the
cloud and kind of get
almost right in front of that ballista
they were firing earlier.
Right in front of the ballista.
Twisted ballista.
Twisted ballista.
Twisted ballista.
That's the title.
We're not
gonna take it. No, but're not gonna take it.
No, but I'm gonna take it.
That'll save me 20 minutes when I'm
trying to post that and thinking of something clever.
Alright. Is that how the titles
get written? Yeah, it's really stressful and I hate it.
It is stressful.
Just sit there like, it's miserable. What the fuck is the name
of this? Ah, there it is.
Alright, it is Metra's turn.
Metra, you have had so many turns.
I know.
Too many, if you ask me.
It's kind of unfair to you, almost.
It's not right.
Metra is going to...
I'm just making sure I can exclude my friends,
but yes, she can.
She's going to cast another Fireball
and center it on the Southeastern Giant.
Okay.
I'm going to get all three three giants and none of my allies.
That's fair.
I believe you.
So each of them need to roll a reflex save.
Roll concealment.
Okay.
Here we go.
Reflex save.
Old Wilflex.
All right.
First one, 21.
Pass.
Second one, nat 20.
Pass.
Suck it.
Third one, fail. Okay. So the one that failed takes 39 points of
damage and the one that ones that pass take 20 points of damage no sorry 19 19 wow these guys
have been uh they're damaged they're damaged goods they've got some baggage. Okay, Metro. Really? High-level casters are really powerful.
Yes.
They really sort of take over the game.
That was just my third-level spell.
Just remember, if you're playing Pathfinder the first time,
you're a first-level wizard getting tired of Acid Splash,
just hang out for five years and you can do some cool stuff.
Just keep slogging through.
Stay behind your allies for a while. And you'll be a
demigod. It is Nestor's
toin. Alright, Nestor's gonna
fly 60 feet
kind of along the side
of the platform
and get
to the point where he has a clear
shot at the one unobscured
cloud giant as the
Yaoguai.
The Yaoguai grew in size
and comes.
So, and he
knocks his arrow like as he's
flying and gets a bead on this guy
and takes his one
shot.
28 to hit. Okay, and you've shot
against the one that's not in the cloud, right? Yeah.
28 is a hit. Okay, and you've shot against the one that's not in the cloud, right? Yeah. 28 is a hit.
Okay.
And that is 33 points of damage.
Ooh.
Okay.
Dalgrith, big turn, buddy.
Big turn.
I'm not going to miss three times again.
I'm not going to do it.
Not so fast.
Target of opportunity attack. You son of going to miss three times again. I'm not going to do it. Not so fast. Target of opportunity attack.
You son of a bitch.
Nice, Baron.
On that same giant that was just hit, it is almost a misfire,
but total will be two hit.
Oh, and he's just 30 feet away.
I was just double checking you, Baron.
I just dropped our arrows on him.
I was like, he looks a little fucked.
21 to hit.
21 to hit. 21 to hit.
That is against touch.
Correct.
That is a hit.
Here it comes.
Okay, so that is, well, it's against a giant, so it is 22 points of damage.
22 points of damage.
And he's dead.
Oh, wow!
Amazing, guys.
He's dead!
Well done.
Well done.
I just realized that I can't find my glasses.
That's a real bummer.
Oh, I can vamp for a while while you're looking, by the way.
No, I think they're in my coat pocket.
Oh, damn.
It's far away.
I just, I can't see.
I can't see anything.
How can we trust anything you've said in this episode so far?
Damn it.
None of it would hold up in a court of law.
All right.
And you were, sir, could you read this paper for me?
What does the headline say?
How many fingers?
I can't read.
I can't read.
Four?
Let the record show the defendant could not address the...
All right.
I rest my case.
Dalgrith, now you can go.
Dalgrith, damn this cloud.
I'm going to go ahead and free action and act my boots of haste.
Boots of haste.
I'm going to give myself haste for a round here as I stress out about this situation
where now I can't see any of my friends
basically. I'm wrapped in this cloud of concealment.
Okay, and
what I was going to ask
you is, does that give you a boost to your AC and
an extra attack? Correct. Okay.
Boost AC and an extra
attack, and
here we go.
Go! Go! Go!
20% mischance.
I forgot already. 20% mischance. Oh, I forgot already.
20% mischance.
He should have climbed up on his back.
He's right there.
First stab hits on the concealment.
It's a 27 to hit.
That is a hit.
Nice.
Maybe!
Their AC is going to make these combats a little more fun.
Except against Baron
Good
That is 41 points of damage
Okay
And then second stab-aroo
Hit and a 91 on concealment
And that is
Wow, wow
One, two, three, four ones.
One, two, twos.
Oh my god, that's so bad.
That is 27 points of damage.
After doing 40, whatever I did with the save exact attack.
You might need to roll a reflex save.
Because you're going down to the ground.
It's the giant throw ball.
Yeah!
Boom! You come down to the ground. Oh! It's the giant robot! Yeah! Boom!
You come down to the ground.
You know, at a certain point, when you fall with these giants, you're 15 feet in the air!
Yeah, well, this time he's flying.
Don't forget.
You're a vexing dodger.
Yeah, so he just, the life goes out, and he falls to the ground, and you remain right there.
I'd say as a free action, you can let go and stay floating.
Does he fall?
Yeah, he falls.
Well, he's levitating.
Does he levitate? Does his body levitate? He's just like, oh. Let's stop it's a free action. You can let go and stay floating. Does he fall? Yeah, he falls. Well, he's levitating. Does he levitate?
Does his body levitate?
Let's stop everything and look this up.
It's like the slow motion scene from
the...
What's that Boston movie? The Player?
No, The Player. It's like that slow motion
scene from the Robidom...
The Player!
All the action scenes. When Martin Sheen is falling off the
building. Oh, Departed. You've referenced that before that before i think in this exact situation that's what it is
slow motion dog breath just lets him go it says sleep tight little prince just pushes him like
in the direction of off so that when the levitation wears out he just yep
all right you still have anything you can do?
You've already taken two attacks.
No, that was full attack.
You're locked in.
Okay.
The outguide keeps moving, and he is now the little closer.
Who cares about him?
It is the one remaining cloud giant's turn.
He's the one that cast this fog cloud, creating this obscurement.
past this fog cloud,
creating this obscurement.
I think he can five foot step,
use his move equivalent action,
absent.
Well, no, you're not within five feet of the source.
I think you should take a little look at the spell,
Obscuring Mist, Troy.
Misty Vapor.
Oh, it would have moved off of him.
Creatures far away.
Moderate.
What?
A fireball, flame strike, or similar smell. Oh, yes.
Burns away the fog in explosive or fiery spells areas.
Oh, my God.
That's right.
I never knew that.
For some reason, I don't remember reading that line.
I knew there was something that could get rid of it.
I knew it was Gust of Wind, but you guys never cast that.
You know what that's like right out of?
It's divinity.
Like getting rid of a cloud.
It's like a spell.
It's an elemental spell.
I hate to do it, but that is worth a bottle cap, Matthew.
Nice, Matthew.
For actually reading the full spell.
I should have done that five years ago.
It's such a rare thing in these parts.
Here's the thing, though.
That might make things bad for Dalgrith,
because I think he can five-foot step and full attack Dalgrith.
What am I talking about?
Well, no, he needs to take a move action to locate his direction.
Oh, because he's invisible.
Right.
That's right.
And even locating direction. Let me just see here. It's a move action to locate his direction. Oh, because he's invisible. Right. That's right. And even locating direction, let me just see here.
It's a move action to locate within...
I can detect opponents within 30 feet by sense of smell.
Strong sense.
Do you stink?
No.
When a creature detects a scent,
the exact location is not revealed,
only its presence.
The creature can then take a move action
to just note the direction.
Yeah, he's not going to be able to get over there.
That's the thing, is his reach is meaningless now
because he has to be right next to me
in order to have enough scent
to unleash a full attack at the right square.
And Nestor, how high are you up?
He can't move to the edge of this thing in that future, right?
I think I'm like 40 feet up.
Okay, so no to that as well.
Zoinks! Okay. I'm still there, so no to that as well. Zoinks.
Okay.
I'm still there, Trent.
You are still there.
I'm going to just throw a rock at you.
You want to throw a rock?
I'm going to lay down this morning star.
I'll throw a rock.
I'll throw a rock.
I'll throw a rock.
Those morning stars look heavy.
Yeah, they are heavy.
I'll throw a morning star at you.
And I'm about to beat Dogger to death with a rock.
It's going to be melee.
This is brutal. You know, it's just like in his head
He knows it's over
It's over but he's
Trained to fight to the death
So he will
Oh god
He's got some movement speed here
How high up is Metro?
How high up is that? How high up is that
landing? You're on the
landing? I'm hovering above. I'm like, I'm flying
above the landing. Right, but how high above the landing?
We had Dalgrith all the way at the ceiling
at 40 feet. Then that's where she is, because she flew
to Dalgrith. Yeah, fucking convenient.
She had to be up there.
It's a touch spell.
That was her only choice.
Fucking convenience.
This is convenient. i deliberately chose it all right this is what this is gonna do this is gonna this has a chance to keep him uh around until nestor or baron shoot him in the back
he is going to move up to the top of the stairs 50 feet of movement which he has
doesn't he hit dogwrith or provoke?
He would provoke from...
Doubtless because he doesn't know Dogwrith's there.
Yeah.
So I get one attack and it's not concealment now, right?
No.
Okay.
Natural 20.
Oh!
Oh!
Oh, my God!
I want to levitate up there and box you in.
But this damage could be enough.
Dogwrith did it.
To confirm?
To confirm is a 28.
So that is a confirmed.
That's it.
Chris.
That is a confirmed Chris.
Amazing.
Death Breaker.
He did it.
Right as you were rolling, I'd be like,
wouldn't it be amazing if he rolled a natural 20 right here?
Oh, my gosh.
Amazing.
Just like he's like Wow The mist burns away
He's like
He looks back at Metro
And he's like
And starts running at her
All of a sudden
He just gets stabbed
In the back
As he runs by
There's very few things
Cooler than an AOO
Crit
From an invisible dude
You know what
Let's keep it going
With our
UK theme
This one from Jack
In
Halis Halisow in Halisowen.
Halisowen? He's from
Halisowen.
It is H-A-L-E-S
which is how people from Philly
pronounce house. House.
Yes. Sore spot.
Your attack hits the target and leaves a painful mark
that lasts for 1d6 rounds, causing
the target to be shaken for one round.
As long as the mark persists, your allies can target it when attacking the creature at a minus 5 penalty.
On a successful hit, they deal 1.5 times damage and extend the shaken condition another round.
That's pretty cool.
So he creates a wound that is then visible to my allies
if they want to target it they have to take a minus five to hit but they deal one and a half
times that are you that's fun you're talking target practice now brother it's called sore
spot we're all the damage uh so yeah just double damn which doesn't mean much i'm guessing that's
pronounced hails owen by the way that would just be that sounds right but it's all one word
so i don't okay uh double damn zoney let's rock it up that is sorry yeah 41 points of damage
he's dead yeah rogue crits are not that spectacular i double my strength bonus and
one of the 10 d6 that i normally roll. You know what I mean?
It's all sneak attack and Bane in this case.
This dude moves over there thinking
he can levitate up and box this
caster in so that it'll force
her to take an attack of opportunity
or something that he can just smash
if he's able to survive another round, but
instead you kill it on an attack of
opportunity. The door to
Iron Cow and Keef is now standing before you,
and you all level up to 15.
Oh, my God!
We did it!
And we'll see you next week!
We did it!
Yes!
Oh, yes.
This team!
Hell, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
You were going to regret that level up.
Oh, yes.
Oh, yes.
Yes.
Oh, yes. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
