Last week on the glass cannon podcast we circle the figure to see that it's
brander looks like he's looking for something as a powerful enemy from the past stalked the heroes
jimmer hardy wakes with a stir out of a nightmare to a reality perhaps worse than his dream.
A great defender stepped forward to accept the steel hand.
He like lifts up his right arm and the stub of his wrist towards the hand into the wrist.
And it like fuses.
The shockwave blows Sir Wilbeck
ten feet. But when an old
ally was forced to turn
against them.
As a descendant of
Balgaroth, only
my breath can
destroy the orb.
And she rears up to

The party retreated into the clutches of a mad naga.
Why, I alone could step into your humble city of true now
and lay it to waste.
Imagine what thousands of my kind
and even those more powerful than I could do.
Creatures such as these are rushing
to Volstice's banner
as we speak.
The adventure continues.
Your time in this
world ends here!
All enemies of the
Storm Tyrant shall
perish!
Now. All tyrant shall perish! No. What's going on, everybody?
It's your old buddy, Troy LaValle,
coming at you with a little intro
to today's jumbo-sized episode.
This is it, the final three episodes
of our giant slayer adventure.
Today's 324, next week's 325, and then on Tuesday, May 17th, the finale comes out.
Episode 326.
Got a couple things I want to talk about, and then we'll get you to this ep, which may take you a little while to listen to.
It's a long one.
Strap in!
These next few weeks are all going to be long.
It's a long one. Strap in. These next few weeks are all going to be long. So I just said we're going to drop the finale on Tuesday, May 17th. Two nights later on Thursday, May 19th, live at 8 p.m. Eastern on Twitch, we're going to be hosting, for lack of a better word, the Giant Slayer Goodbye Party, where the five of us are going to talk about the last seven years of this show, maybe answer some unanswered questions,
go behind the scenes on things. I mean, I don't even know what the hell we're going to talk about,
because at the time of me recording this intro, we have not recorded the finale yet. We have
recorded 325, but a week from my recording of this intro, we're recording the finale. So I can't even
imagine what the hell we're going to talk about because I've got a lot of work to do over the
next week, but it's going to be a fun time, maybe an emotional time. Please join us if you can live
and we'll record that as well and release it on the Giant Slayer feed so you can catch it if you're
not able to see the live stream. And we'll put the video up as well. That's going to be a special night, 8 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, May 19th.
A week later, we're going to be out in the Pacific Northwest, finally making our return out there
with a show in Portland at the Doug Fur Lounge on Wednesday, May 25th. There are still tickets left to that show. The VIP is
sold out, but there are still tickets left. It's a bigger venue than the Seattle show,
which is happening two nights later on Friday, May 27th, which is completely sold out.
But there are tickets left in Portland. I mean, God, I know we haven't released the videos for St. Paul and Milwaukee yet, but that Portland show is kind of important.
So come on out if you're out there.
If you're in Seattle, you know what?
Make a whole weekend out of it.
Drive on down or come up from Northern California.
Come to that Portland show.
I would love to sell that out.
And then, of course, two days later, we're going to be at PaizoCon hanging out.
That show is sold out, but hopefully we'll be
doing some stuff at the con in addition to the Glass Cannon Room. Details on that are to follow.
Then two weeks later, we're coming to D.C. and Columbus in the same week, and that's during
Origins Game Fair. Thursday, June 9th, we're in D.C. back at the Miracle Theater, and then two
days later, Saturday, June 11th, we're in Columbus,
back at Newport Music Hall. Those shows have been selling a little slow right now. What's going on?
You're tired of us, DC and Columbus? Come on out. Get your tickets to those shows. I think there are
still VIPs left. You can get the VIP package to Columbus on our website, the VIP package for DC.
If there are any available, you got to get on the site where you buy the tickets.
But please come see that show.
Plenty of seats left.
That is a good chance we'll be starting second edition.
We'll be starting book three on those shows.
Very good chance.
I mean, hell, that might happen in the Seattle and Portland.
But by then, I think almost certainly it will be happening.
You're going to want to see that transition live. And then two weeks later, LA and
San Francisco, LA at the Terragram Ballroom on Wednesday, June 22nd. And then Friday, June 24th,
we're at the Independent in San Francisco. Tickets are flying for those shows. But still, especially
in LA, we're going to have a lot of like industry people coming. We want to sell that out, have that
place loaded with a real friendly
niche crowd so that we can show off a little bit. So please grab tickets to that L.A. show
if you haven't and be sure to get tickets to San Francisco. After that, we're taking July off. And
then in August, you know, just announced the other day Gen Con released their events calendar. We're
doing two shows at Gen Con itself. The Busted Mufflers are back. We're
going to be playing Blades in the Dark. And then we're going to be doing a very unique show that
same day, the Friday of Gen Con, also at the con, which you're just going to have to get tickets to
to believe. But we haven't announced it yet. We'll also be doing two Glass Cannon live shows yet
again in Indianapolis during Gen Con. Tickets haven't been released for those yet, but that's
going to be happening on Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, just like how we did it last
year. So Thursday night, Glass Cannon Live. Two shows at the con Friday. Saturday afternoon,
Glass Cannon Live. And today, I may be finalizing a deal on something else pretty huge that will be
happening at Gen Con. So needless to say, just come on out to Gen Con. It's the best week in gaming, and we have a lot of fun stuff going on.
But now it's time for the episode. It's time for 324. We poured a lot of love into this episode
and next week's, which has already been recorded, and I can't even imagine what that finale is going to be like. In the meantime, please enjoy episode 324 of the Glass Cannon Podcast.
Every death you snake.
Right before we started recording, we were trying to figure out if next episode is the penultimate and then 326 is the finale, what would this episode be called?
And immediately Skidnew, the correct word, it is the anti-penultimate?
Anti-penultimate.
Anti-penultimate.
How did you know that?
I don't know.
He went to college.
Did you take Latin?
Were you just like using?
I did.
I did take Latin.
So you didn't know that word so much as like, oh, it's probably antepenultimate.
No, I did know the word.
I did more impressively.
I knew how to spell it.
I was able to correct who was spelling it.
It's funny because I was, you know, the Putnam County Spelling Bee, the Broadway show?
Sure.
I was just watching the new series about the making of Godfather on Paramount+.
How is that? The reviews are terrible. I fucking love it. Yeah. watching the new series about the making of Godfather on Paramount Plus.
How is that?
The reviews are terrible.
I fucking love it.
Yeah, I love everything Godfather related,
but I don't want to subscribe to Paramount just to watch it.
Dan Fogler is playing Coppola, right? Dan Fogler is playing Coppola in it.
So I was thinking about this last night as I was watching it,
but one of the things that they did for Putnam County Spelling Bee
is they will pull people out of the audience to participate in the Spelling Bee.
Right.
I remember this.
That's terrifying.
And I was one of the people that they called out.
No, of course.
Of course.
The entire theater.
You could sign up to be chosen.
Oh, okay.
Right.
There were a lot of people.
Matthew.
Agency.
But lots of people will sign up.
Did you fuck around with them
and just start eating dog food when they call you up on stage?
No, no, no.
I thought they were going to poll the audience and be like,
has anyone here met Bill Murray and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?
And one hand raises.
Come on up.
Come on up there.
What's your name?
But I was really excited because I'm like, I'm a very good speller.
So I thought I could hang in there for a while.
And they made fun of my weight, which was great. that's what were you struggling with your weight well first because
they will make of the person calling the b will like make fun of you like as you set up so you
know everyone's supposed to be in like sixth grade or something and i had a beard and so it's just
like here's skid mar is this one of the few fifth graders with a full beard you know and so it's
good thing and then i was wearing a striped shirt and then um the second time i got up they
were just like here's skid mar again uh it was the mistake that he made is that uh vertical stripes
are supposed to be slimming and i stopped it's like that's really fucking me it's a good bit
though that's like why are you so mean you can't be mad that's a good bit i'm a volunteer what did you go out on i can't remember oh no it was uh it was uh it was like a cherokee
word for tobacco that i had never heard you then you were one of the last to go then yeah yeah
because they because they have because they have to like do that to get you out of there
they're like at certain point they're like we got gotta get on with the story right was one of the words antepenultimate well so they i there's like a bunch of fail safes that they
baked and they bake into the script to get to get to that point and like stupid smart asses that
know how to spell everything are accidentally weeded into the crew like you then they they
have to like eventually i i think i saw one where they actually gave the final kid like three
different words because he lucked into spelling a nonsense word correctly.
How did you?
And I guess the final word they get, it was something like with 27 syllables or something.
And he says, can I have the definition?
He said, this word means get this wrong.
How many times did you see that show?
I saw it a couple of times and then a friend of mine directed it.
So I saw it. I've seen it. I I saw it a couple times and then a friend of mine directed it. So I saw it.
I've seen it.
I've seen it a few times.
Wow.
But it's funny because that's something Troy and I have in common is we've shared a stage
with Daryl Hammond because he was, he was the, one of the guys in the show as well.
He was in it.
Yeah.
Get out of here.
Yeah.
It was him.
Yeah.
Jared Fogler, who's fucking amazing by the way.
Jared Fogler is a guy who has never... Dan Fogler, sorry.
Dan Fogler?
Has never...
Yeah, that's why I always get confused.
You found him!
But he's a guy who's like...
When was the last you saw him?
He's super...
I'm not Dan Fogler.
Scooby-Doo masterpieces.
I'm Dan Fogler.
Oh, no!
And he shoots you.
Toronto.
Toronto slugger.
All these children at their firstway show just crying
skin falls off the middle of the screen but he's a guy who's like super funny super talented who's
like never quite broken through into like real start like he's in like uh you know he's not in
harry potter he's in the crimes of grindelwald knockoff like everything that he does he's like
not quite getting there. He deserves more.
Very funny guy, very amazing performer.
Didn't Jesse Tyler Ferguson,
didn't he originate that as well?
He had obviously a huge career with Modern Family.
Yeah, Daryl Hammond, I did,
when I was doing stand-up,
I did this showcase once and Hammond closed it.
And he's obviously, I don't know if people know,
it's kind of a weird dude.
But I do remember going to the bar afterwards.
I was sitting there like getting a drink
after I finished.
And he came up and he was like,
nice set.
Then walked away.
I was like,
oh, I'm going to make it.
Even though none of those jokes
I could tell now in 2022.
It's a good set though.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I actually posted a picture of you in the crowd
that was the same exact one yeah that was that was that night they're funny uh so yeah anti-penultimate
episode that's uh that's the world word for what this is um assuming we finish in three i was gonna
say so it's definitive now i think it is i'm i'm i'm done with this question
yeah we have a no role play rule right this is
the trick this is matthew you can use this too if you ever want to end a story there's one there's
one sentence that you can use that will definitively end any story you can just say like and then a big
monster came along and ate everyone yep there it is you're done yeah especially in a setting like
this question mark wait especially in a setting like this question mark wait
very believable serious question for you yeah what have you cheapy chaos right now yeah no
genuinely concerned uh obviously you know what uh this naga has at her disposal a lot of bad
things can happen and i thought about this and thought about this and thought about this
and i don't have a solution yet so yeah especially killing adriel which seemed
a little uh unwise before the very very very very very end uh what's baron gonna do roll up a new
17th level gunslinger 17th level who's just like been hanging onto the roof the whole time oh you found me let's stop this crazy thing just say i've got a rifle
we stopped casting but that character is played by sylvester stallone from cliffhanger and he's
just hanging off of one hand the whole time that's a superpower and yes he has an m16
yeah don't i that have all the things that make me nervous about these final few episodes. That's one I'm genuinely concerned about.
You know, you get down to the final battle,
don't have to worry about it.
You die, see ya.
It's better for the story.
So you're telling me this isn't the final battle?
I think it's...
So I should go.
There we go.
I'll be holding back spells.
I'll be holding back on my spell usage.
Thank you.
Thanks, Troy.
Follow-up question, Troy.
Yeah.
What if instead of
TPKing us, which would end the story,
you instead
purple prismatic spray? Is that the one
that sends us to other planes? I think purple, yeah.
So we're all still alive and the story would continue,
but we'd have to take episode upon episode.
We each get a solo episode to bring us back.
What plane did Will go to?
And then it's ten episodes, Sir Will.
You're prepared.
In the plane of fire.
Wow.
Get me out of here!
I've never prepared for something like I've prepared for these final episodes.
And I tell this to my wife all the time.
I'm like, I'll be so happy when these are done.
She's like, you say that before every recording.
I'm like, you don't understand! It's been seven years and we've never done anything like this no but but you she's saying and she's right you say that before every episode of every game
you play of every show ones that are starting ones that are four eps in i'll be so happy when
this episode he also does this before every piece of sushi he ever eats this is the best piece of sushi yeah and
he's so happy when it's over yep he eats it in four minutes it is the entire uh dish i don't
have time for savoring it so is this the anti-penultimate encounter well that's the
things you're trying to like play little games and ship it oh i guess that's your it is very very complicated facebook status relationship is complicated complicated um because as much as
i prepared it's it's so contingent on what you guys do and i can look at your character sheets
all day long and try to prepare accordingly it just have no idea and you guys always surprise me
um but i but i am genuinely worried about losing characters too early.
Like, in an epic story, you always want a couple of the heroes to perish,
and then one or two to save the day.
But, like, if it happens too early, that's very dangerous.
And, you know, it's one thing to be able to find,
to bring Sir Will and Adriel back in, or to have Jimmer be here.
It gets much more complicated from here on
out so i don't know uh if i die there's two options one i don't play which is fine and option
two is i'm playing a dragon you want to play a dragon i'm gonna play a dragon for the first time
ever are you i just i just shook out of the spell. And I'm here, guys.
Firebrand!
I like that idea a lot.
All right, I'm going to roll 16d6 damage.
16d10 damage.
I thought you were proposing that you would play the dragon dominated by Troy. So Troy decided what you did, and you just had to sit there and portray the dragon's thoughts.
Isn't that what we're all doing anyway, Matthew?
Yeah, that's probably true.
Figure it in the end. in the end of all things.
Yeah, I mean...
I just looked over at your old initiative tracker here, Troy.
It just says in giant letters sideways across it,
disease.
Where do you see that?
It really is appropriate.
Yeah, I mean, that's a dry erase marker and i bet
you that's impossible that must have been written in like the 140s i guess 150s in the episodes or
just before covet hit i can't it was a warning to us all i i mean i used to carry this around
all over town to do our episodes this seems like a relic yeah yeah i that was a great thing to have
like a jewel when we when i first got him it was just like oh you should give it away to a listener
yeah i have the shit burned into my mind all right who wants this burned into my mind call in first
person to call troy used to have the little dry erase markers and i see his little handwriting
and i see him using like a little
Because I don't know you have to write weird
With a dry erase marker because it's
So thick at the dry erasey tip
And just remember you were erasing
And shuffling man those were the days
Here's my little expo eraser
That thing has seen better days
If this eraser could talk
Let's erase some shit man Yeah should give away this to joe's apartment like i was going to his first
day of school you can give away your old dried up dry erase markers like like the presidential
pens when they sign a bill into law oh yeah when was the last time you pulled a single thing out
of that solo cup of markers uh nothing there was a thick layer of dust on the tip of each pen here.
Remember drawing maps?
Yeah.
You guys would come over to my place,
or I'd drag the map over to Joe's, or I'd go into Joe's bedroom to draw it before.
I did it in here for Raiders Lost Continent.
For most of book one,
I was drawing the maps on my big Chessex board.
It was book three that we stopped,
because the maps were getting too out of hand, I think.
But yeah, I do miss maps.
Don't miss the initiative tracker.
Who doesn't use digital?
This is dumb.
I like it.
I like it.
It's easy to move people around when they move an initiative.
Yeah, that's true.
That's true.
And you don't accidentally go, oh, I closed my browser right now.
I lost everybody's initiative
i just carry a little baggie with all these little things yeah me too yeah well won't be
needing this anymore for the listeners at home he just took it and threw it behind him
and in the process his wallet fell out of his pants
i got these jeans from stitch Fix and they're very comfortable.
I said, hey, send me another one.
The other pair had a hole in the crotch, so they did.
But one fatal flaw with this pair of jeans is whenever I sit, five times out of ten, my wallet pops out.
And so I've been like in Starbucks walking out.
You mean one out of two?
No, five out of ten.
Shut up.
50% of the time. I'll be walking out of starbucks and someone
be like sir your wallet i'm like oh thank you this is a real problem that's a big wallet looks
like a problem for your back a lot yeah i got the costanza wallet holy it's not it has like i have
25 dollars in it it's just receipts business cards and and old oh i got oh old clubs that i don't
belong to i should have uh I shouldn't have said anything.
I should have just,
yes,
you shouldn't.
That was my first thought was,
why did you say something?
We could have swiped that up a bunch of sag in the penultimate episode.
We could have been like,
I could have been like,
Troy,
you know what?
I'm going to buy you sushi today.
Wow.
That was so nice of Matthew to buy sushi.
So out of character. What a, what a a what a noble use of misbegotten
funds yeah this is you guys still wear a wallet or anybody use a money clip i would think maybe
you're a money clip guy i just do money clip uh in vegas and atlantic city money clip in vegas
and atlantic city yeah because i just walk around with a lot of cash and i keep it in my front pocket
i have assumptions made about you as a whole person.
If you use a money clip or a wallet chain,
I just have very,
very strong,
two very different things,
but they,
but they both give you an idea of the person.
They certainly do.
Uh,
I like my wallet.
Well,
I have a bad motherfucker wallet,
bad,
bad motherfucker.
It's actually,
it came with a Jules Winfield's driver's license actually.
Yeah.
Do you ever hand that to someone at a bar and just see if you get a chuckle?
I have done it.
Yeah.
I did it at the airport.
They didn't laugh.
No.
Nobody's in the mood for humor anymore.
It's just like, ah.
Picked the wrong venue.
Yeah.
Tough room.
I should also say that my money clip is a money clip slash wallet.
I really like it.
It's a, I only use it, again, in Vegas and Atlantic City, but it's like, it's a i only use it again in vegas in atlantic city but it's like uh it's a
clip but it's got a leather thing on it and it has room for like two cards and id well your best
money clips have that function okay yeah my dad gave me an old old money clip that i've never used
but i like the idea because you're not an asshole yeah well you know if you're wearing a suit you
don't want this big exactly exactly so i put in my in my jacket pocket yeah jacket suit jacket pockets are clutch i mean what the answer is is
women have figured it out with the societally accepted purse having a bag is better than just
shoving crap in your pants and sitting on an extra five inch deep wallet that's got to be
terrible for your alignment well i always wanted a money clip just so i could reenact and i used to do this all the time my buddy francis and i would get drunk and you know
guys know francis uh even the nation knows francis we get drunk and i would reenact this it's uh in
godfather one when the photographer is trying to tosses the money he's trying to take photos
and sonny breaks the camera and then just unfolds the money and throws it on him so i used to do
that in like the most inane situations, like come stumbling home drunk
from a bar.
You did it to me.
You did it like one of the first nights I met you.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Have you told this story before?
I think we've told it on the pod before.
Yeah.
You left.
It was like the first night we hung out and got drunk together and you left my apartment.
We went back to my, I was like, you want to go back to my place and play games?
And like, we went back, we played games.
You left at like 3 in the morning.
And we were stumbling down the street.
And you actually fell a little bit.
And then you turned to make a joke out of it.
I bumped into a car.
Yeah, you turned and you pulled your wallet out,
pulled out a dollar, and threw it at the car that you bumped into.
And you were like, yeah, take that, buddy.
And then just turned and left the dollar.
I kept walking.
And I was like, that's one of the funniest people I've ever seen in my life.
I was like, I'm sorry, madam.
Just threw it at the car.
The commitment to the bit, you just walked home.
I went and got that dollar.
That bit cost me a dollar.
I just read an interview with James Caan.
Apparently that was a thing that he had seen
in his neighborhood growing up
and it was his addition to the scene.
Really?
Apparently.
Oh, I love that.
I'll never forget that moment.
That's really cool.
Well, we won't be making it rain with dollar bills today.
Nope, for it is the anti-penultimate episode of the Glass Cannon podcast,
and we're going to have some fun today, and maybe, just maybe, some tears.
Promise?
I promise.
So where do I even begin?
You guys had a bit of a whirlwind last app.
Obviously, we took a few weeks off here.
But just to remind everybody what happened, you find Jimmer.
Jimmer had been put here after,
I don't think you guys know this.
I don't know what you actually talked about after a,
I mean,
did you talk about your relationship with Brander and the whole Brander thing?
Or did that even not,
did that not even come up?
Well,
we just asked what happened to you,
where you've been.
And Jimmer's whole thing was like,
I don't want to talk about it.
I'm useless.
Leave me to die.
I don't remember that. I'm only a burden. And so we just were like, like, I don't want to talk about it. I'm useless. Leave me to die. I don't remember that.
I'm only a burden.
And so we just were like, well, here's the hand.
And then it just became like, let's fucking kill something.
Right.
Okay.
All right.
So you don't know his whole ordeal, but you understand he's obviously been through shit.
Some of you haven't seen him since Ashpeak.
So you get with him and then Noxemara comes in.
And Noxemara basically berates you for messing up a plan that she had that you guys didn't understand.
Says that Adriel sacrificed himself to keep her safe from Volstice's eye.
And that if they saw you two kibitzing, then it would be a problem.
So she rears up to start a fight, and you guys, very wisely, not wanting to hurt Noxemara,
get out of there. But because there was a teleport trap on the room, you get sent into the Gug Pit.
And from the Gug Pit, you take a moment to kind of put some
buffs on yourself. And then you decide, let's head back to that room above. The room that we think
was Azarth's bedchamber that now the Storm Tyrant is possibly using as a bedchamber. So you go there
and as you're getting settled, you hear a voice after Metra yells,
calling out Volsus.
You get a response,
but the response is from Linaratus.
She is invisible.
Only Metra can see her
and just kind of slithering up the stairs.
We talked about buffs a little bit
before we started recording. of you except sir will
have had or cast on yourself protection from evil uh jimmer obviously drank the the bottoms up the
the horn of valor what is it called the horn of horn of bottomless valor horn of bottomless
valor so you're enlarged you've got heroism cast on you you've got some temporary hp uh baron has
long shot on him and metra has mirror image with how many images uh eight eight wow so there's
eight of you or there's nine of you there's nine of me there's nine wow so is that max yeah but
it's not that it's at this level like you have to roll it's a thing that i can roll
it's not that hard to get max okay what is max eight eight max eight images is max yes
yeah 1d4 images plus one image per three caster levels max eight um but sir will you haven't cast
anything on yourself you just don't need it don't need it i am pre-buffed
by my deity at all times oh that's nice yep oh oh oh good for you i like that
good for you i am able to see me through
let's uh see if she helps you roll for initiative. Roll for
initiative. I'm rolling
roll, ricka, roll, ricka, roll, ricka,
roll, ricka, roll for initiative!
Perhaps the last time we'll hear that
jingle ever.
So this is the ultimate encounter?
Ultimate encounter?
Ultimate encounter!
Ultimate encounter!
Now available, ultimate encounter!
I'm rolling my Lapis D20 from our friends at Norse Foundry.
They sent to roll in this particular show.
Wow.
Let's see if they like you.
Oh, fucking Norse Foundry.
It appears they do not.
Oh, no.
We need Metra to go early.
How bad was it?
Well, it could have been worse.
I'll say that.
So you're two?
Yep.
Oh, no, Metra. That's always looking on the bright side it could have been worse what is that a total of
uh you know what i'm actually gonna i'm gonna invoke my dimension of time
a planar infusion to control this because wow it's the last one so what happens in uh in game
not in game terms but in the story terms?
So in that exact instant when we
all kind of snap into battle mode, there's a little
bit of a stutter in what you see
Metro do. And she just kind of, at first she's a little
slow and then she reacts.
And now rolls. A natural what?
Crack die.
A natural nine. Okay, better than
a two! Much better. Much better.
For a total of?
18.
18.
18 and ready to go.
Sir Will?
Sir Willamette!
Did you die?
Bless your die?
Well, as long as we're thanking people for their dies, I gotta thank Mally D, who we blew up on the show for sending everyone a die but me
twice
in a matter of weeks
in a matter of weeks that happened to be twice
Mally came back strong
I mean real strong
you guys don't even know how strong
I didn't even know how strong
until I rolled initiative
Mally sent me a beautiful cat's eye green die
she sent everybody a die
With their name on the 20
I'm like oh okay here we go here's one with my name
On the one nope
The one's there so my name's on the 20
But when I rolled
I rolled a lork
I didn't see this
What the fuck is this
Lork is the 5
Cause that's your favorite number?
Because that was the one I rolled when I attacked Cardiff.
And I'm always like, I'll never forget that fucking five.
So, Mally D, I got to throw it to you.
Well done.
There's a Lork and there's a Joe.
So I rolled a Lork.
Good job.
Which is a total of a seven.
Very deep cut there.
Very deep cut.
That is one of the most personalized die I've ever had.
It's going to be hard.
Thank you.
Keep track of all your funky dyes.
It really is.
Thank you, Mally.
What about Jimmer?
It's funny you should ask.
Jimmer got a natural Joe.
Oh, no!
Oh, my God.
So that's a total of a lork for those of you keeping track at home.
Total of a lork.
Our in-house designation for the number five.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
Okay.
Baron, what about you?
I don't think I can convert Imperial to metric that quickly, Troy.
I, too, rolled on Mally D's duality of man between Satan and Jesus between Joe and Grant.
On that die, I got a 15.
Oh, there we go.
Total of a 30.
Very important.
Full attack!
Bullets in her mouth!
30.
And you can see.
Oh, you can't see invisible.
I cannot see invisibility, so that will be the first question I have on my turn, and
I might have to burn a turn just to be able to see this snaky, snaky thing.
Yeah, that's worth it.
You can't burn a turn.
No.
I got a couple swift actions that'll be fun, too.
Okay.
Okay, okay.
Very interesting.
I have to say, if this is the ultimate encounter, that could have gone a lot better.
Yeah, if this ends up being our initiative for the rest of the John,
we're in trouble. I wasn't nervous
for you until now.
No, I'm just...
You were actually nervous the whole time.
All it is is the opening tip.
Yep. From that point,
it doesn't matter.
It's a long game. Well, Baron,
you may go first
in this encounter.
Baron looks out.
There!
That square!
Baron looks out in front of him, and in the space where once this evil Naga stood,
screaming madly at us about the plans of the Storm Tyrant to bring down enemies even worse than she has been,
on top of True Now now he gets furious but he feels unable to
act because he can't see the creature he's gonna say torag has solved many of our problems along
the way and it will certainly solve you you old hag lightning bolts come down as Baron is once again blessed with Toreg
And for a moment it crackles across his body
Blessed by the
What is he?
The Forgefather
The Forgefather
Blessed by the Forgefather
Imagine that
You can picture this god on high
Just like raising his hammer and
Oh it's like
It's like Magr like like when um in
an elden ring when he's got that like glowing hammer that's like kind of ethereal not real
right on to bear bear so what does that do mechanically well it's going to allow me to
get my standard sacred protection which is going to boost my AC. I'm also going to, instead of putting
it on my damage right now, I'm going to put it
on the Judgment of Sacred Purity as well,
which is going to give me a plus three bonus on
saving rolls. If you remember when I
leveled up, I can immediate action
change what those
are. So at any
time, if I'm being attacked out of nowhere,
I can move it to protection. If I want to
attack, I can change it. It's going to
be pretty cool. I would normally just put that on
damage. Secondly, I'm going to
cast
Sea Invisibility on myself. Nice.
There you go. Okay.
Cast Sea Invisibility
and I will go ahead and
toss her on the map.
You and Metra can see
her,
but no one else can at the moment.
And I'm going to look around the room
to see if there's anything similar
to the wicker baskets that were employed
in the previous time that we fought this creature.
Oh, imagine those things coming back.
Thankfully, no, you do not see any of those wicker baskets,
which, let's be honest, made that encounter
much, much more harrowing.
Yeah, so that's what you see. I'm going
to move 15 feet forward as my final
action. Whoa! It is at that
moment that you realize there is
an invisible wall of force directly
in front of you. Oh, for God's sake.
With these walls of force
always. Come on, reveal on
the map.
Where did it come from and when?
I don't have to tell you that.
Damn it.
Your Honor?
I object to that question. But I mean, was it not there
a minute ago?
Were we in that space? Were we walking through there a minute ago?
No, you just came into this room.
From the fireplace?
No, you teleported.
Oh, we teleported.
And that's right at the spot where we teleported to.
All right, gotcha.
Yeah, so you go to move forward and you find a wall there.
You can still use your movement if you want to start going up.
It's up to you.
Um...
I don't get a sense of how long.
We have a room that I'm moving from the east to the west,
and this wall is running north-south right now.
I don't get a sense that is it the length you revealed.
It could be longer than that.
I'm going to move down south about 15 feet along the wall
and try to step forward one more time,
and if it's still in front of me, I will end my turn.
Okay.
And yes,
it is still in front of you.
Um,
and I was just going to shout,
Metro,
you know how to deal with these things.
And he's going to poke at the wall once again with his gun saying,
I'm,
I'm useless.
I mean,
we can get around it,
right?
It's only,
it's only that long.
I don't know that we know that it's that long or not.
I wouldn't,
it's good doing a good job of playing his character, Matthew, and not metagaming like a cheater.
Yeah, maybe you could take a lesson from Grant.
Did you know walls of force are invisible, Matthew?
The map suggests the wall of force is very visible.
Well, that was a gift to you, the player.
I didn't have to do that.
Yeah, so I mean, I walk the duration that i can and move
another five foot forward trying to go through the wall and choice as i can from where i'm standing
right correct okay can you see the wall if you can see invisible objects that's a really great
question it's a great question see invisibility let's stop the episode yeah you know look that
up while i'm true to form While I'm taking my turn here.
Yeah, it does say an invisible wall of pure force.
Right.
What does force look like?
See invisibility.
This yellow bar that I've put here?
You can see any objects or objects or beings that are invisible within your range of vision.
Wow.
See the force mode.
Yeah, maybe...
It's weird. Like, what does force look like? I guess it looks like this wall
um
alright great so can he see
that it ends there?
does it actually end there or is that just a
oh the DC to notice an invisible object
is 20 higher than normal
invisible what? yeah this is confusing
you can see invisibility so you don't
have to use there's no check the spell allows you to see them as if they were normally visible but
i think this because no you cannot see the invisible wall of force after casting uh see
invisibility according to rpg stack exchange according to steve according to and are they
discussing pathfinder or 3.5 from ed is from Eddie Mage, who I always trust.
You'll notice in the, oh, Eddie Mage, unimpeachable.
Yeah, this is just one thing.
Yeah, it's, it's, the general consensus is that it depends on the DM.
I'm sorry, so it's definitely not Pathfinder.
You know what a stickler he is when the rules aren't in his favor? He's like, is this not from one of the creators of Pathfinder. You're not even reading Pathfinder. You know what a stickler he is when the rules aren't in his favor?
He's like, is this not from one of the creators of Pathfinder?
I'm not buying it.
But with this one, RPG stack exchange.
I'm just happy that three...
Wall of Force.
Can we see it?
Can you see a Wall of Force with C invisibility?
This guy says, sure.
Sort of.
Relevant rules.
The DC to notice invisible object, like you just brought up.
Uh, the next thing says invisible objects are visually undetectable.
Uh, yeah, that one's more complicated.
Uh, the end result is that you might not be able to see the wall, but you could still detect it.
It would probably block sound pretty well.
And air currents would obviously not move through it, meaning that dust might build up.
Yeah, so I kind of like giving,
give me a free perception check
just to see if you sense a difference in the space.
Huh.
I'm just glad that we're 324 episodes in.
Oh, natural 20.
Rants 45, 47 for stone cunning.
Wow.
Invisible wall of four stone.
Oh, there's a secret door in that invisible wall.
Yes, it so happens.
Yes.
Well, what you can tell is that the air feels different not only directly in front of you,
but as you come down, you feel like the air currents are curving in a different way,
that blah, blah, blah.
There's another wall of force,
the direction you went,
forming an L here that cuts off Linarotis' approach to where you are.
So similar, probably creating a box all the way around to the next wall
as we're looking at the above head thing
it's possible um now this thing's only 10 feet high um but yeah right now um they are uh
back there all right then my next uh i will be doing a high jump next round something uh baron
was born for as a dwarf uh so that's my turn. That's your turn. Alright.
Now I gotta make some
decisions here.
And I usually enjoy
making decisions, but these ones
are very, very important.
Well, what I'll say is the first thing
you, Baron, and
Metra see is coming
up the stairs in single
file, three creatures that look like emaciated Metra C, is coming up the stairs in single file.
Three creatures that look like emaciated humanoid-type skeleton bodies with horns coming out of them. And they're just smothered with a bone-tight hide of slimy leather on what remains of their skeletal structure.
I'm going to go ahead and put them on the map so you can see them, but remember, only
Baron and Metra can see.
Nope, not that wall of force.
Nobody needs to see a close-up of that.
This particular creature with a blood-red long spear and a long tail with barbs at the
end of it.
It's like a babow or something.
Babow. It sure is. Babow. Babow. It's like a babow or something. Babow.
It sure is.
Babow.
Babow.
Babow.
It's not working on my screen.
Oh, there it goes.
Oh, yeah.
Babow.
You guys know your babows.
That's new babow art.
I haven't seen that babow art.
I drew that myself.
Babow.
Babow.
Babow.
I told you I was prepping hard.
You should really do more artwork for us then.
Because that's really good.
I can only do it for the Ant and Ultimate episodes.
Ant episodes?
Episodes.
All right, so they come up.
Hey, how are you?
And they're obviously behind this wall as well.
They all have their spears, and they just like, like a phalanx, drop all their spears down.
And then Miss Lineratessa
Lineratessa
Lineratessa is going to
fly straight
up into the air.
Cast a spell on herself.
I'll tell you what that spell is. That spell
is displacement.
So now you see like is she there
Is she there you're not 100% sure
And
Then she is going to quicken cast
Another spell
You know what I'm going to do
I am going to
Try to
Dispel your mirror image
And I Make it with a natty 18 So try to dispel your mirror image. Okay.
And I make it with a natty 18, so...
Mirror image is a higher
spell level than protection from evil, right?
I think the same. Isn't protection from evil
level 2? No, it's level 1.
I think it's level 1. And you don't have any other higher
buffs on you as we just established, so
your mirror image is gone!
And she flies up
towards the ceiling 50 feet uh up her
head just barely scraping against the top that was a quick and john and that's going to be her round
and now hold on a second so she has line of sight or line of effect on metro because
when she's 50 feet up she's over the wall wall. So Metra has line of effect to her.
From where she's standing, yep.
And so does Baron.
Now Baron,
you'll have to Pythagoras
your...
Long shot. Well, actually, Baron is going to have to
back up because Baron's directly next to the wall.
But if something's 50 feet above
a 10 foot, you're probably still not
from that close to the wall. As far away as she is honestly baron i think five or ten feet away yeah we're
metra and jimmer are targetable by her so you have to be at least 10 feet away from the wall
all right i need to figure out how to fly then you've had 324 episodes uh yeah so she flies up
and yeah it's going to dispel the mirror image And cast displacement on herself
I had flavor said she was blinking in and out of existence
Last week but
I need to use an actual round to cast
A spell like that so I will do that
And now
It is Metra's
Turn
One lonely Metra
One lonely Metra
I would like
To introduce Linaranus
To a little
Place I like to call
An extra dimensional labyrinth
She's going to the maze
Oh
Shit
What's his plan for this
She is not going to the maze
I had a feeling
So that means she can't teleport, then.
Yes, that does mean she cannot teleport.
She intimated in her speech that your sorcerer's tricks will no longer work here.
I got a lot of tricks.
In this adventure.
But now you know for sure, yes.
So that is a good point, though, to bring up.
What happened?
She can't run away.
She casts a... Dimensional anchor on herself? Thank you. Yeah. Oh, okay. Well, up. What happened? She can't run away. She casts...
Dimensional Anchor on herself?
Thank you.
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
Well, now I don't have to cast it on her.
So then I will invoke my quick and mad magic rod to cast another spell, and I will fireball her.
Oh!
There you go.
How very rude.
And she's 50 feet up in the air, you say?
She is, yeah, 50 feet up.
Okay, so I can't...
I think you're within range, no?
Fireball, yeah, for sure. Oh, but yeah, with the rest of her demon friends. Yeah, you wouldn't be able. Okay, so I can't... I think you're within range, no? Fireball, yeah, for sure.
Oh, but yeah, with the rest of her...
I can't get the...
Her demon friends.
Yeah, you wouldn't be able to get...
But I can get her.
Okay, and that's fireball, so you don't have to roll...
You're just exploding it.
I'm exploding.
It's going to hit all of the blinking parts of her.
Okay, what do I have to roll?
Reflex?
Reflex.
Reflex.
I wonder if this giant snake has good reflex.
24. Yes. 24.
Yes.
So you're going to take half damage.
One thing I have going for me is, like, at least I have saves.
Touch AC on these creatures.
You save on everything.
Okay.
You take 18 points fire damage.
Okay.
Let me just make sure if I actually do.
Yeah, it looks like it hurt her.
18 points.
Linaratus has taken blood!
And then Metra is going to step up right next to the wall.
Do you have the step up feet?
No, that's a flavor change.
Just step.
Like put one foot in front of the other.
Step up to the wall.
Okay, I like that.
Yeah, that way you protect yourself from anything she might try to throw at you.
Sir Willamette Keswick, he doesn't need buffs because he's buffed by God.
Buffed by God herself.
Sir Will, this is horrible.
Will, this is horrible.
Seeing as Metra's not interested in buffing Jimmer or Sir Will to actually do this fight.
Oh, my God.
He's going to ride away.
And I don't, yeah, we'll see.
So passive aggressive.
Real waste of 18 points.
Good job.
Listen, you have to take your shot to send someone to an extra-dimensional labyrinth.
Oh, that.
Absolutely.
All right.
Sometimes it doesn't work, but you still have to take your shot.
It's a fireball.
I don't like.
He steps up.
He's going to stick out his spear and run it along the wall of force and just ride along the wall.
To the north?
And just feel where it ends.
Yeah.
Okay.
Because he can't see it.
He can't see anybody in there.
I like that.
But he's just like. Sparks flying off. Yeah. where it ends. Yeah. Okay. Because he can't see it. He can't see anybody in there. I like that. But he's just like...
Sparks flying off.
Yeah.
Magical sparks.
Exactly.
Magical spizzarks.
And then what happens when he gets up to the end here?
At the point that I have designated on the map, it actually is the end of the wall of
force.
You feel the sparks stop.
Okay.
It ends here!
Jimmer!
It ends here!
This way!
It ends here!
It sure does!
ends here. Jimmer! It ends here!
This way! It ends here! It sure does. In that
case, he only used one move action, and
he will... he can't
see his enemies.
You can see the demons, right?
The demons are invisible, according to Troy.
Yes, they have not
attacked yet. They are invisible.
And I'm just assuming that Metra
said that they were there. I tell you
exactly where they are. Right.
So he knows that something that he can't see may be coming, which is very scary.
And with that, he will do total defense.
Total defense?
Total defense for now.
Okay.
Without being able to see them, they're going to have to attack first for him to see them. Okay.
Let's do that. Fair enough.
Just doing some housekeeping here
on my spells.
And then let's finish out round one
with a little man who we haven't seen in
combat action in a long
time. Jimmer Hardy.
James! Jets!
The giant peach. Jimmer is. James! Jets! I'm the giant peach.
Jimmer is pretty slow, so he is going to try to vault over the wall rather than going around it.
Okay, 10 foot tall, but now you're...
I'm 12 feet tall.
You're 12 feet tall.
Yeah, the wall's 10 feet, so you could probably do an acrobatics check to jump over it.
Okay.
I looked this up beforehand.
Can you climb a wall of forest? There's no hard and fast i think it's cool okay i'm gonna try well he's not
climbing it as much as putting a hand on top of it yeah and vaulting it yeah gently i'm not looking
for handholds i tried to you probably can't i don't know why they would say you could you can't
climb a perfectly smooth object right he's not putting a hand on tom let's be clear he's just trying to get over right he's
twice i fell yesterday walking over a baby gate
not once you are twice you are pretty clumsy once things get to 18 to 18 inches to two feet
off the ground yep this one you tend to as low as it can be and i collapsed there is a power
strip there's a power strip that's been sitting here between our stations i mean for months it's not a small power strip it's not
even the same color as the floor and i have watched troy kick it at least two dozen times
and then his wallet falls out
doesn't matter if the jeans are new or old that wallet will pop right out it's my take on
the dick van dyke uh that is a 13 on the acrobatics check 13 on the acrobatics check i will say uh
because of your massive size that you can uh you can make that with a 13. Okay, so he like puts a leg over it and it's like
and like lands
with a thud
on the other side.
That's so dead.
Call the play! And he's like
where are they?
Okay, great. So he
hops over and obviously he cannot
see any of them. Linarata's
flying above or these three ba-baos.
You can also total defense, if you'd like.
Or ready an action to swing if you see him.
His total defense is stand-only?
Yeah, because all you did was move.
Right, okay.
Yeah, I'll go total defense.
Okay.
Great.
I'm just doing more housekeeping. Joe, please stop playing this kid's character what's
he doing what are you smiling about i was pretending to be jimmy going total defense
against like four terrifying invisible i thought you were using your secret language that only you
and joe know like twins to tell him something you know it's funny there's a chance i'm not
looking it up but i like like having things set against us.
There's a chance it doesn't matter when they're invisible.
I think total defense is a dodge bonus,
and I don't think you get dodge bonuses against creatures that are invisible.
It's kind of interesting.
You're flat-footed, though.
So you wanted to play Skid's Garage and you gave bad advice?
Well, I just realized it just now, like just this second.
Not at the time I was giving advice.
How convenient for skit.
Round two.
It's Baron's turn.
Baron, you are the guinea pig of this.
You now know what the situation is.
What do you want to do?
Baron's very concerned with Linaratus being 50 feet in the air.
So Baron's going to kick one leg to the left over the top of the broom that has been following him,
which we established a couple episodes since we were outside along the edges of the castle that that's what's been happening.
That broom's just flying next to you.
Yeah.
Like Kazoo on the Flintstones.
I guess that's a standard.
It's up to you.
That'll be your move action to mount the broom.
Move action to mount the broom. Move action to mount the broom.
Okay.
And then I'm going to fly at an angle up a bit, I guess.
Or can I fly straight up?
Matthew knows these rules a little bit better than I do.
Flying straight up, I believe, is a fly check.
Okay.
No, just going straight up, I think you can just do that.
Okay.
It really, what you gotta do According to this, fly up at a greater than 45 degree angle
Is a fly check of a 20, DC
DC 20
Okay, then I'll fly at an angle
I'll fly backwards a little bit, I guess
So I can get forward, if that makes sense
So you just fly along the wall
At an angle up to the side
And then turn left and come around
You just gotta make like a little bit of an arc Or do you wanna go back towards the fireplace fly along the wall at an angle up to the side and then turn left and come around you just got to
make like a little bit of an arc or do you want to go back towards the fireplace and then come back
around the next yeah i guess i'll kind of be like some distance 30 feet in the air here okay so five
feet back from the wall all right so you're you're yeah you're five feet back from the wall unless i
could be just over the wall here, you know what I mean?
So like 20 feet. Right, where you were right up next against it,
you'd have to go straight up.
Right, but if I were able to get,
I think I could fly back five feet
and then kind of swing back around
with 30 feet of fly movement
and end up like right above the wall.
Yep, I think that makes sense.
And then I just want to do another perception check
to listen for or see any other enemies that may be hiding or coming up or downstairs.
Is that okay?
Yeah, it's more than okay.
That's great.
All right.
So that was like a double move and I rolled a 24.
Okay.
You do not see any other creatures at this moment, uh, except for, uh, the Naga and the three babows.
All right.
Obviously there is that staircase to the southeast that leads up to a, uh, covered walkway that eventually leads to the observatory.
So you're looking all around this massive chamber for any
signs of other enemies
coming at you, and you
do not see anything at this moment.
This is your last dance, Linaritis.
We're coming for you.
That's his turn. Okay.
All right!
Um...
Shuck a gunk a gish What gunk, gush, shuck.
What are they going to do?
What you going to do when they come for you?
All right.
All right.
This has changed things slightly with the way you guys have moved around.
But that's okay.
Linaratus is going to fly right over the wall.
It's between Sir Will and Metra.
Yep.
She's cut us off.
She can't get both of us in the spray.
She is going to drop a...
Hmm.
God.
Thermonuclear atomic bomb?
She drops a bomb.
A poop?
A poop?
As she's flying, some white dung comes out of her.
It lands on the brim of Jimmer's socks cap.
He's just like, oh, come on!
Magic shouts, it's good luck.
It's good luck.
Oh, hell.
Good luck for you, baby.
I just bought this hat.
I just bought this.
I just got this at Fenway.
Now it's got snake shit all over it
I am going to
Detonate a fireball
I'm going to quicken cast a fireball
That would affect Jimmer and Baron
So give me a reflex save
Jimmer and Baron
Okay
So you're detonating it in midair basically
Yes
And I appreciate if you don't question all of my answers.
I just didn't know if you remembered Baron was flying.
I remember.
What did you get Baron?
Spell or spell like ability, so a 36.
36!
Jimmer?
32 for Jimmer.
Sha-gong-gong.
Reflex is still good for Jimmer.
Okay, so you will both take half damage unless you have evasion or whatever the fuck it's called.
I do not.
And that damage is 19 points of fire damage.
There goes my temporary HP.
See ya!
I will immediate action change one of my judgments to be a judgment of resistance against fire
eight, only taking 11
points of damage.
Okay.
Let me just mark that.
That was a quickened spell, and then I'm
going to cast another spell on
Metra. Give me a fortitude save.
A fortitude save. Okay.
Which die? Which die?
I don't like this. I don't like this.
I don't like it.
How does a 27 suit you?
Yeah!
I just cast Disintegrate on you.
Oh, wow.
That would have been 14d6 damage.
Instead, it is, as you know, 5d6 damage.
As you know so well.
As you know...
Oh, too bad!
So instead, you take 22 points of damage.
All right.
This is why this show needs to be streaming.
You had to see Troy's face.
Too well.
It's very dramatic.
So now Linaranus is right there
Let's have these
Come up
To old Jimbo
Alright let me see
Alright let me see
If they can all
Close on him see if they can all close on
him. Sure enough, they
can. So, I'm gonna have
all of them... Oh, man.
This needs to be a fucking movie.
They all just...
My wall! My wall!
My beautiful wall!
They throw a wall?
Yeah, they do.
They all close on
Jimmer so Jimmer giant Jimmer
is just surrounding these guys
but actually
they have reach with their
spear maybe I don't need to get right up
next to him it would also
provoke he can't see the he can't see
um
so the stupid walls in the
way
I think I think...
I think I want to get back.
They're going to be...
Get back!
They're going to be back,
so they just can attack with their spear.
Get back to where you were.
Yeah, I'm going to attack.
It's going to make them visible,
which is going to make their lives very short.
But I'm going to try to attack.
So three attacks with a long spear.
I'll move them in a second
because the fucking wall of force is moving
as I try to move them.
Oh, it's such a tough call
because if I don't have them attack,
you could direct Jimmer to attack them
at a 50% miss chance.
So that might keep them around longer.
I'm going to have them just close and not
attack um yeah that's what i want to do because i think the best i'm going to do at this point
is very little damage against jimmer even with a crit uh it's more dangerous uh to just distract
jimmer i'm talking out my thought process here so yeah i, I'm going to have them just close on Jimmer, but not do anything unless they want to cast. Yeah. You know what? Let's get nuts. Uh, they will all cast
darkness on their spears. So Jimmer's begins to, along with all of them enveloped in a radius of
darkness that starts to emanate from each of their long spears.
Now it is Metra's turn.
Metra, now that things have changed a little bit, give me a will save.
Something about the eyes of this Naga you find oddly charming.
Oh, jeez.
The worst.
The worst.
Uh, Tweener.
26.
You're all right. Okay. You're all right.
Okay.
You're all right, but this one is not like save and you're done forever.
It's a constant as long as you're within range.
You have to roll it.
You're able to fight your desire to make sweet snake love to her.
It's just like the desire always exists.
You can't deny it Okay, I'm going to
Quicken Metamagic Rod, cast Fly on myself
Okay, come on up
Since this is going to be a three-dimensional
Combat
Always great, and clearly Pathfinder prepared for it
Okay, and then
Metra is going to
I don't think I can do that yet
One of my new spells is just so much fun to say And I really want to to I don't think I can do that yet I'm
one of my new spells it's just so much
fun to say mm-hmm and I really want to
cast it but it's not gonna be it's not
not quite applicable yet so instead
that's the name of it
Metra is going to level spell Metra is
going to fly up and over the wall
in such a way that
doesn't provoke from Linaratus
Is Linaratus sitting right on the top
Actually, you know what? Even though she is
a large creature, her
reach is limited
Also, she's 50 feet up in the air, isn't she?
Don't raise your voice to me
I'm about 15 feet
Don't ever speak to me like that in front of the children
Okay Let's make sure I can get my distances here And I'm about 15 feet. Don't ever speak to me like that in front of the children.
Okay.
I'm going to just make sure I can get my distances here.
I'm hoping I can get everybody, but I may not be able to.
Oh, I'm sorry.
She's, this is greater invisibility?
No.
So she's visible now. She's visible.
Yeah, she's visible now.
The babows are the only ones that are invisible.
She was visible before in the other fight.
She just kept jumping into baskets after she would attack.
Right, and then peeking back down. Right. Yeah, she's visible now. Ah, I see you. She was visible before in the other fight. She just kept jumping into baskets after she would attack.
Right, and then peeking back down.
Right.
Yeah, she's visible now.
Ah, I see you.
Okay.
Foul creature.
Look into my eyes.
No, no, I cannot.
Love me. You're too beautiful.
All right.
I'm so into this snake.
What a beauty.
So I can't get all of you,
but I think Jimmer and Baron are going to be the ones
that are going to need this protection the most.
I think you have... Sir Will has protections
already. I'm going to cast Particulate
Form on the three of us.
Can you do that where you can't
see Jimmer and Baron as they are engulfed in
darkness? I can see them.
I have dark vision. She's a
fucking creature of the shadow.
I didn't know if that applied to magical darkness.
Is it magical darkness?
Is it deeper darkness or is it darkness?
It's just darkness.
It's magical darkness, but it's not deeper darkness.
Then we're good.
Then we're fine.
In fact, creatures with dark vision can see an area of dim light or darkness without penalty.
You merely adopted the dark.
I was born.
I was born.
I was born.
That's good.
Did you come up with that yourself?
Yeah, I wrote that. I like that. Did you come up with that yourself? Yeah, I wrote that.
I like that.
Did you already write that popular film?
The weakest of the three in the trilogy.
Are you going to pick, John?
I did, to fly. That's in my turn. But just to
review, you guys get Fast Healing
2, I believe.
And you are immune to
criticals. And you are immune to criticals.
And, you know, it's also just making sure you bleed damage, critical hits, sneak attacks,
and other forms of precision damage you are immune to.
We get fast healing 3 because you're 17th level.
Oh.
Increases by 1 at 10th and then at 15th.
Starts at 1.
Yes.
Somebody did its homework.
And you can always dismiss that to get some instant healing.
Grant minored in fast healing at his university of choice.
It is now Sir Willamette Keswick's turn.
Sir Willamette, you are within range of her charming gaze.
Please give me a Sir Will save.
See what I did?
See what I did there?
The anti-penultimate episode. You're really
stepping it up, Troy. Only thing I prepped for today
was that bit. Not only.
You wrote that? Yep.
That was good. Somebody help me.
Not only will I not be rolling
because Sir Willamette is uncorruptible.
Incorruptible. Incorruptible.
But, I didn't want to...
Elliot Ness, the glass cannon podcast.
Exactly.
He is the Elliot Ness of the GCP.
Not only is he untouchable, but I didn't want to interrupt your fun little game you guys were playing.
But, Metra, what are you doing rolling on this gaze?
You're immune to, buddy.
What?
Oh, protection from evil.
Chug, hunk, dunk, and goo.
Cannot be charmed. Cannot
immune to charm
effects. Enchantment charm
effects. Wow. How fun is
that? Wow!
Wow!
So you don't have to roll it either, because you're not
protected by that. Does your god protect you?
Where's your god now?
My god is right here.
And yes, at 17th level,
I can no longer be charmed
or compulsed to do
anything. Compulsed, I think.
Compulsed, I says.
Compulsed, I says.
Museum.
Sir Will is going to look at this situation.
He can't see still any of
these babows because they
they're doing this weird thing where they won't fight.
It's also very dark.
It's also very...
This
this, yeah, this level five thing that he
threw out at us that anyone
in fifth level can handle. For the record,
it's dark.
Can't see anything in that darkness.
You know what? I forgot to check. I have a box on my sheet that i can check when i'm
in dim light or darkness and it makes bad things for you happen i'm checking it perfect thanks for
the buff troy i prefer preach the buff preach the buff that's right i did forget about that
we're saving so much time i swear to god we'd be at 500 episodes if we didn't abbreviate some of these words
as we do. Sir Will is
going to
go nuts and start spending
shit, assuming this is
the ultimate encounter.
And that it will roll right
through.
He is going to
touch his Lexington
just by the back of his ears.
And he's like, I must leave.
Go get yourself safe.
And he looks up at the Naga and he's just like, I need to stop her.
And he just releases his boots from the stirrups, enacts the gorgeous blue wyvern cloak that's on his back,
and flies right off of
Lexington's back, right at her.
Wow!
And he also
drops his lance
and draws Roselight.
Nice! Closes in on her.
For the Rose!
And along with that,
and it's been a little dark.
Near him, somewhere, he is also going to smite evil on her.
Wow.
So with the rose and the light, he shall smite evil.
Was it a standard action to enact the power of the Wyvern Club?
Yeah, so he can actually swing.
The four of the rose and the light is the smite.
So it's his flavor, but he's going to get in melee with her,
and she'll have to move or provoke
somebody if she wants to start casting and shit. So we'll see.
See what she does.
Alright, I should put a
thing out there for Lexington, so you'll
remember where he is.
Great.
I found a little pawn I can toss right there.
It denotes Lexington.
Oh, great.
Damn it, Troy. A roadkill version of Lexington. Oh, great. God, it's a roadkill
version of Lexington. Oh, God!
It's a mangled wolf!
Oh, my God. It's in a pool of blood.
Its insides are spilling out of its guts.
So that's where Lexington is.
Oh, wow.
In case you forget.
And you're right up in her biz-ness.
Up in her biz.
Is she an outsider?
Ooh.
Outsider.
She does not have that type.
Cool.
Yes.
What type does she have?
Is Naga a type?
I'm actually just curious.
They're probably an arcane creature.
It's not my type.
That's for sure.
A magical beast.
Yeah, that would be my guess.
Yep.
You want to give me a roll?
Dungeoneering?
I wasn't really caring about it mechanically.
It was more as a player.
I was just curious.
It's funny because just by telling you what roll it is, it tells you what she is.
Was it Arcana?
Dungeoneering?
Aberration?
Aberration?
Aberrant?
Aberrant!
Aberrant beast!
For the rose of the light!
And he closes on her and he's in melee
and he would provoke but no she
said she doesn't have she doesn't have reach yeah
I mean though she takes up a 10 foot box
her reach is only five
in her current state
alright it's Jimmer's turn Jimmer you
can see in the darkness
which means you can see her which means you need to roll
a will save no he doesn't oh because. Oh, because he's protected from evil.
Correct. Please carry on with your day.
Enjoy the rest of your afternoon. The Babows
are invisible.
Invisibow.
Invisibow.
Bobby Bow. I saw that happen
in his head. There was a pause
and his eye blinked for a second.
Invisibow.
Bobby Babow did.
What would you like to do, James?
Pull him out, Sheriff!
It's going to ask the location
of these creatures.
Keep in mind, Baron, it is dark.
I love that you
regressed 360 episodes
back to before you knew how darkness and darkvision worked in this anti-penultimate episode.
As you're pointing out the enemy, keep in mind the darkness.
Okay.
So, presuming that that is what happens, Jimmer is going to target The one closest to Baron
The one between
That's Bobby Bao
Just a straight up 50% missed chance
You have reach now
Obviously that you're large
So they're all within reach of you
I do
Rolling two hits with Terminus Est
Come on baby
Oh Critical threat It already started hits with Terminus Est. Come on, baby. Oh, Critical Threat.
It already started!
The first roll!
Oh my god.
Critical Threat!
Critical Threat!
It's all over these babows.
Rolling against Concealment.
15.
However, Jimmer has
Blind Fight.
Oh, baby!
Roll again.
43.
Oh!
All right.
Methinks that won't be the last critical threat.
Okay.
Going to swing again.
That is 32 to hit.
Yes.
Okay.
Concealment.
77.
Okay.
Ooh! That's a crit in Cthulhu. It is. No, only in Delta Green. Oh,alment. 77. Oh! That's a crit
in Cthulhu!
No, only in Delta Green.
Alright, 33 points of damage.
Oh wait, no, no, no, sorry. 34 points of damage.
Okay, and what is your weapon made out of?
It is adamantine
plus four
adamantine weapon.
That's enough.
Carry on.
Okay.
But is it cold iron?
Yes.
Let's say, is it cold to the touch and made of iron?
How many points of damage was that, 53?
34.
That was 34.
34.
Yeah.
The Bo Jackson of damage.
That's right.
That's right.
We say he bowed.
He bowed Bobby.
You bowed Bobby Bow.
Bowed Bobby Bow Bow.
Third attack is a 35 to hit.
63 on the concealment.
There we go.
Oh, yeah.
Another 34 points of damage.
Oh, wow.
Final attack.
This thing's got to be one hit away.
I can't believe it has this many hit points.
Natural 20.
Come on,
blind fight.
46.
72.
No!
72.
I gotta confirm that, John.
I do have critical focus.
Natural 17 on the confirm.
Oh, it's over.
Go ahead and read. Oh, it's over. That is a crit.
Go ahead and read.
We should still pull one.
Do you have something from Alaska?
God damn it.
We definitely have crits from Alaska.
Yeah, we definitely have.
I don't know if I have melee crits from Alaska.
Let's stop the show.
Do you have anything from...
Do you want Juno?
Is Anchorage okay?
No, I want Juno. Juno only. I do have one. From Juno? Is Anchorage okay? No, I want Juno only.
I do have one.
From Juno?
No.
Fairbanks.
No, I do have one.
Not interested.
I do have one.
Milad from Anchorage, Alaska.
Yeah.
Made up.
Oh, and this sounds perfect for Jimmer.
Title is, I can do this all day.
Yeah!
Awesome.
Your attacks land with vital precision and efficiency as you begin to eviscerate your target.
You haven't even broken a sweat.
Double damage, and the target must make a successful fortitude save or take 1d6 bleed.
All right.
Not as concerned about the bleed, but just for shits and giggles.
What does a Jimmer crit do for damage?
Double damage. Thank you, Malad., devil damage? Thank you, Malad.
Flat, regular damage.
Thank you, Malad.
82 points of damage.
82 points of dead Bobby.
Okay.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bye, Bobby.
Bummer.
Was that my...
That was my fourth attack?
I remember you saying, and now my final attack.
Okay, you missed one and you hit three.
Right.
Okay, so that's it for me.
Bobby Bobow has ended, and so has round two.
We go to the top of the next round, and it's Baron's turn.
What's your last name these days?
It's Red Heart, although i've been thinking about
some fun novelty license plates in order to run over other mystical wolves i come across
but um no it's red heart and uh oh look at that poor little baby boy um baron sees that jimmer
has it under control and says keep on going the two are there. And then he turns his attention towards the Naga in the distance.
Will swift action pull down a judgment of,
not a judgment, I'm sorry.
Sorry.
You can't do.
That happened two rounds ago.
That is not.
The immediate action happened my very first thing when she happened.
It's been a round since that's ticked over.
You used it for the fireball.
You just used it for the fireball.
She just shot a fireball at you.
That was her last turn.
Am I wrong? It's my turn again.
So when does it tick over?
On your turn, you have used your swift action
for your next upcoming turn.
So what swift did you use?
Oh, because you switched your Judge Johns.
Yeah, that was after your last turn.
I flew up and then you went before the naga then the naga flew over fireballed you so i have no swift action you have no swift action just this turn okay it felt like that was two turns ago
because it's been so long sorry we take a long time um then baron was a lot of about jokes there
was a lot of we said the word we said the syllable bow quite a few times.
Which is fun.
Uh, so then after my turn, do I get my action back?
Yeah, you could do an immediate again after your turn, or you could, in your next turn, you'll have swifties.
Yeah, if something triggers an immediate once your turn, once, uh, Linarotis' turn is over, then you could trigger it.
Okay. Uh... Or during your turn. Once Linaratus' turn is over, then you can trigger it.
Okay.
Or during your turn.
Here it comes. Baron's going to point out the two babows in front
of Jimmer, and then we'll
do a full attack action, hopefully
against the Naga. Here comes
the first attack. Okay.
And you have to enact long shot in order...
I don't have to enact it. It's always on, but...
But, like, you're still within touch range with this.
Yes, absolutely.
How much does long shot give you?
I'm at 50 feet.
I'm 40 feet normally.
So I have plenty of space.
You're 30 feet up and she's 50 feet up.
So you're still there, right?
Yes.
Matthew Pythagoras.
So there's a 10 foot.
It's 10 foot.
Yeah, they're 40 feet away and 10 foot displacement.
20 feet up. 20 feet up. And he's got 10 feet. Yeah, they're good. They're 40 feet away and 10 foot displacement. 20 feet up.
20 feet up.
And he's got 50 feet.
He's got the 10 feet.
Actually, 35 feet.
And then.
Yes.
Okay.
Yeah.
He should be fine.
Okay.
All right.
Fire away.
So she dies this round.
Oh, she has displacement.
Never mind.
30.
Against touch?
Yes.
Okay.
There you go.
All right.
Roll for concealment.
50% mischance.
Oh, gosh. Against displacement. Does he have to do the concealment? You know what? Forget it. Okay. Okay. There you go. All right. Roll for concealment. 50% mischance against displacement.
Does he have to do the concealment?
You know what?
Forget it.
Yeah, no.
I'm tired, too, but roll it.
58.
Nice.
Oh!
Nice.
Shabow.
Nice.
Drawing blood.
Shabow, maow, bow, bow, bow, bow.
That is going to be 23 points of damage.
Okay.
These are going to be a bit lower because I wasn't able to swift action
and enable Bane against this creature.
Oh, right.
You see, not all of that gets through.
Pat?
That is going to be a 30 to hit.
Yep.
30 against concealment.
Oh.
Okay.
Third attack.
Next attack.
It's going to be a 17 to hit. That is a miss. Okay. She's. Next attack. It's going to be a 17 to hit.
That is a miss.
Okay.
She's Spritely.
She's Spritely Snake.
She's got the touch.
Plus.
Plus.
She's got the power.
Plus it's dark.
Don't forget the darkness.
She's shooting directly through darkness.
That darkness.
Which will give her a plus two to her touch AC.
Look it up.
Throwing me off.
Slows the bullet.
Look it up.
All right.
Miss on the final attack
wow holy shit
that was not that was on a baron like turn
no it wasn't yeah that's uh
immediate action
what was your swift what were you gonna do
I was gonna pull down uh
Bane against Averitt and I would
have had a bonus and a plus two hit
how many points of damage did you save by switching it
seven but I didn't I didn't yeah you were just doing something cool yeah You would have had a bonus to hit. How many points of damage did you save by switching it?
Seven.
But I didn't, yeah.
You were just doing something cool.
Yeah, I mean.
It was dumb, tactically.
Yeah, just like Matthew casting maze after a speech was given saying that it was immune to it.
But, you know, I don't give Matthew a lot of damage.
Plus, I am immune to maze.
Can we go, can we, Erano, can we have the?
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't think that actually came up.
I have quite a few tricks, as I said before.
She was talking a big game about being immune to everything we do.
So who knows what she's really immune to.
All right, then.
It is Lenorados and the Babows turn.
I'll tell you what.
What?
Just having those Babows there occupying Jimmer
is perfectly fine with me,
so I'm going to keep them there.
Yeah, I'm just going to have them brace
in case anyone charges at them.
Brace with their long spear.
And now it is Linaratus' turn.
She... We should do the pythagoras because if i back up
um it's going to force baron to move but right now she's 20 feet up and 30 feet away so most
likely within your 50 range but i'm wondering how far i can get back that's absolutely within
the 50 because if you're higher it it's not by 20 feet further.
That way you're like less than.
For sure.
I'm just curious how far I can go that's going to force you to move more than 10.
It won't be a five foot step worth.
It would probably be 10 or more.
So the Thagoras is to help you out?
Yes.
Could you do that please?
I'm a little busy.
My pen's out of ink.
My pen's out of ink over here.
It's just weird.
I have a bunch of Sharpies.
I have a bunch of dust-covered Sharpies from 2019.
Would you like this powder blue dry erase?
Actually, maybe I should use the initiative tracker to do the math.
No, I'll use the calculator.
I feel like that's what I borrowed your initiative tracker.
That's all I did on it.
Well, she is going to move back to force Baron to move. I'll do that's what I Borrowed your initiative tracker that's all I did on it Well she is going to move back to
Force Baron to move I'll do that math
In a second it's not going to affect my
Action
Because but that will provoke
Sir Will
Yeah you also can't go past
Me without a roll you go around me
I'm going to go around you
So let's take that provoke first
Man I might fucking regret this.
With Smite Evil, that's a lot of cheese on my stick.
Displacement.
Yeah, displacement.
No matter what, you always have a 50-50 chance of not getting hit.
Yeah, but if you hit, this could be massive, massive damage with Smite Evil.
He's not charging.
True.
What's your base damage if you were to hit?
Yeah, I wish I knew this game better.
Well, this is why I spent a whole round just getting in her face and not even attacking.
Just being here throws her off a little bit.
Right, because now my options are provoke and get away to avoid the onslaught of Baron,
although I did just do pretty well against him,
or five-foot step and avoid your attack of opportunity and just let
Baron fire away.
While I was sitting on Prismatic
Spray, because I don't want to
fucking lose my demons.
Ruin the story?
You know, my quickened spells
eat up four levels higher.
So I've already eaten some of my seventh level spells.
Oh, that's what you're doing.
Gotta get yourself a rod.
Yeah, well I've got one. But I seventh level spells. Oh, that's what you're doing. Gotta get yourself a rod.
Yeah, well, I've got one,
but I can't use it in this adventure.
Oh, I've got one, Matthew.
It's my penis.
Do you want to stay the same height and get away, by the way,
or do you not need that now that this is complicated?
I don't understand the question,
so I won't answer it.
Okay.
No, I...
So you're not charging, and that's what the spirited charge is really what gives you all your...
The massive, massive...
The meat on your bones.
Medigaming.
All right, I'm going to provoke from you, Sir Will.
Okay.
I will attack once.
Come on, Mally D.
Come on, Mally D.
That is a 47 to hit.
Now 50% chance.
Hey, 50%.
Come on, bro.
Six.
Thank you.
Thank you for being exactly right.
I was like, why are you belaboring this?
I know.
I was like, what's the big deal?
I don't know.
Maybe he went to church today.
Prayed for a complete change in his life.
All right, so she...
Oh, God!
All right, so she's going to be like,
See ya, punky Brewster.
Well, I guess it's also that the prismatic thing
is going to hit her about,
so maybe that's why she's not casting it.
That's where he's at.
Oh, sorry.
I missed that.
Yeah.
Also, it's the range on the prismatic is a whole thing as well.
Oh, boy.
All right.
So, Baron, would you agree now at this point you'd have to move more than five?
And you were 20 feet higher than me?
20 feet higher, yeah.
So to be outside of my range earlier, you would have to be 50 feet away, and then you would be 53 feet away.
I got you.
Anything outside of 50 feet, it's basically the same with only that much of a height difference.
I have more movement right now, but I don't want to...
Oh, my Nassar will can just five foot fly over to me in full attack.
So yeah, I'll move one more away.
And you're staying the same elevation.
Same elevation.
Yeah, so you're just like sliding along.
So what you just did requires a flight check.
Because of all those turns?
Yeah, if you're turning greater than 45 degrees...
Yeah, to go around me and end up behind me, you have to turn tighter than 45 degrees.
You need a couple of fly checks, actually.
I'm assuming you have a pretty good fly.
It's not great.
That is a DC-15.
Okay.
And you're spending five feet of movement every time you turn that way.
Right.
Okay.
All right, so then that is going to make me have to stay within five feet of Sir Will
and I need two fly checks.
I'm sure there's a way that I could do that and make it.
I could have also gone the other way.
Whatever.
Actually, that's what I would do.
Just to make it harder on Sir Will.
That's still going to require the fly checks because I have to make...
Well, I'm just making one turn.
I'm going like, if I went to the left and up,
that's one turn.
Yes, that would be better. And if I fail the fly check,
I fall to the ground? I mean, no,
I don't think so. But I also think...
You could also argue that if...
How much movement...
What's your fly speed?
60. You could
lope around. If you're going that way,
you don't need to roll the fly check, I think.
Okay.
Well, I'm going to go over there, okay?
If that's all right with you.
And then I am going to cast another spell on you, Metro.
Give me a...
Oh, let's say a motherfucking...
little save known as fortitude.
Okay. This is not subject to
protection from evil in the skull?
No.
Then how dare you ask?
And nuggets have dark vision?
The darkest.
Fifteen. Oh, no.
She cast disintegrate again
and you failed.
Stretch. Stretch. Particulate form? She cast disintegrate again And you failed Stretch
Stretch
All right
All right
All right
Stretch
Particulate form
I do have particular form
But that only protects me
Against critical
Critical hits
And sneak attack
And that kind of stuff
Fuck
Sir Will's gonna take it
Okay
I lied last time
And said it was 14d6
It's 28d6
I was gonna say
Yeah I think it's a lot more than that
All right
So you're gonna take it
I'm gonna take it i'm gonna take
it all right so what is this immediate remember you're spending your immediate and what happens
paladin's sacrifice paladin's sacrifice i was so nervous about uh i was trying to casually
make it seem like and i'll dispel mirror image i just wanted to get disintegrate off on you
their fortitude saves are so high.
I can't believe it worked.
That was a lork, by the way.
Natural five.
Natural five.
It always gets you.
All right, so Sir Will, tell me what happens in this moment.
So she flies away from him.
He swings at her and then just like, she was like there and then she wasn't because she was two feet away from where she was supposed to be.
And he swung at the wrong one.
And he passes through.
And he's up there floating.
This cloak is like floating behind him.
It's like Doctor Strange.
Right.
That's who looks up there.
And he's still kind of like, this is new to him and unused to it. So he's a little bit off balance.
And as he swings and goes off balance she casts this little green P
is it a line? It's a ray
It's a ray, green ray
and it homes in
like a sniper
reticle on Metra
I want to read a bit of the spell for you
just in case you, this changes your decision
I hope it really doesn't
Any creature reduced to
zero or fewer hit points by this spell
Is entirely disintegrated
So there's no
Negative hit points
Well yeah I mean Metra has to live
There's no two ways about it and there's no way Sir Will would do anything else
So this beam comes to you
And then you get by Lexington for the next episode
It's the worst I was going to say shoot me
But you actually are Right now shooting me
And so yeah he sees him
I can imagine Metra just like starting to lean back
Like
And then he again
Just the same as before he reaches a hand out
Closes his eyes
And let it be me
He prays through Ioma Day to take
The pain from Metra and give it to him
And he'll take it and it's gonna hurt
He'll take 106 points
of damage so he's just like this green light and just his skin starts pulling off and away from
his body uh as he's being burned alive by basically acid you're like halfway thanos snapped
yeah you're like caught like mid-snap. Yep. Just half pixels, half man.
Holy shit.
And then, you know what?
I will quicken cast Scorching Ray.
And I'll do all three of these at Metra.
So these are going to require ranged touch attacks.
You're visible, right?
I am visible.
Yeah.
I want you to take a little damage.
I'd feel bad if you took all the damage.
It's just rude.
The first one will be
a 19 against touch.
These are all going to hit unless I roll in there.
One and
a...
I can't help but feel like you're picking on
Metro. Two disintegrates.
Dispel magic. Dispel magic.
Dispel magic.
He's definitely picking on Metra, but why shouldn't he?
You are the MVP.
You are very, very powerful.
And she is a sorcerer like you
and has been watching all of you since you entered the castle.
She knows everything about you.
She's jealous of your pretty eyes.
Well, I don't want to say it.
Her eyes are not. What color are
Metra's... White. Oh, they're just white.
She's jealous of your pretty
arms. Oh, thanks.
I've been working out.
It's all those incantations
that they really work out your
forearms. All three rays hit.
That'll be 47 points
of fire damage.
Oh, shit.
He stacked that on to the
Oh gosh I am now below half
Oh jeez
What?
Fucking mirror image not having that is
Just killer
Oh man
Okay
Everybody calm down
I'm not calm
I'm sweating in my palms
Is this a new economy where the best thing to do is just cast Mirror Image on yourself for survival?
Yes.
And then try to get Lyrinidus to cast a spell again and waste that?
He was making fun of you.
No, no, no.
He should have cast Mirror Image instead of Fireball!
Oh, wait.
That was before she went, wasn't it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right, you went.
I also could have...
There's other stuff I want to get done.
It's hard.
She has a to-do list.
I have a to-do list.
There's only so many rounds.
Well, you can start ticking off one of those boxes as it is your turn.
All right.
In the third round of combat.
I think we got to change the game plan a little bit.
It's about damn time somebody said it.
So I'm going to...
That's not even me.
I don't know what that means.
We've all been waiting.
Oh, there you go.
About time. So first things first. I'm going to cast a that even me? I don't know what that means. We've all been waiting. It's about time.
So first things first, I'm going to cast a spell magic on Litteratus.
Ah.
So what I want to get is the fly.
And I think I have the best chance of hitting the fly.
But if I roll high and hit the displacement, then.
Or any of the other 12 buffs she has on herself.
So this is just a caster level check for me okay oh man okay
and then it's dc 11 plus the spells caster level all right so i should look at what the highest
thing that is currently cast on me is yes um well give me displacement i mean i don't know but that's
higher than fly right it's in dimensional anchor is going to be the highest. Dimensional Anchor is not higher.
Dimensional Anchor is fourth level.
Displacement fifth level?
I don't remember.
Displacement is third.
Fly is third.
Okay.
But she has other, I see at least one fourth level thing on her.
Get her. Get her, Metra!
Alright, well, let's see what happens. I rolled a 15.
So that is a 32.
Nice.
32. So that would be able to...
Anything.
It's 11 plus the spell's caster level.
So your caster level's what?
No, the spell's caster level?
We always get into this shit, but the
higher is like her caster level
yeah and if she's multi-class at all it would be so is it 11 plus her caster level hang on
we never ever ever know for example but when we did it before for the darkness thing we said it
was the creatures caster level that's casting it which i disagreed with and i think everybody
disagreed with and somebody in the world there is an example in the text of the spell.
I'm just reading it to understand it.
For example, a seventh level caster casts a spell magic targeting creature affected by
stone skin caster level 12.
Okay, let's stop right there.
Caster level 12.
If stone skin...
You need to be a 12th level caster to cast it.
Right, but what if you're a 15th level caster?
You could still cast stone skin to yourself. Does it still count as caster level 12 or is it kind of
special level 15 no because if you look at things like uh cure cure is going to give you additional
benefits based off of your level and particulate form gives you additional benefits fast healing
plus one at 10th level at 15th level so it's the caster level the first caster level that you have
to achieve in order to cast that spell or is it the caster level of the creature? That's what I...
I think it's the creature that just cast it.
Literally no one knows.
And everyone says, at least from our last experience, that it's the caster's level.
The caster's level.
Which I don't understand.
Because then every spell on her, unless someone else casts spells on her, is the same level.
You know what I mean?
So how are there different fucking levels?
It doesn't make any
sense unless other casters cast on her yeah but she drank potions or did a scroll that's true
because then it's like a first level spell that she cast on herself would be just as difficult
to dispel as like a sex level spell and you're saying that's how it should be no i'm saying
that doesn't make any sense exactly and but people were were saying I was not right. So, like, I don't get it.
The check exists in the text here.
So, targeting creature affected by stone skin with caster level 12th and fly caster level 6th.
The caster level check results in a 19.
The check is not high enough to end the stone skin, but it's high enough to end the fly.
That answers it right there, right?
So, unless in this particular example.
No, it doesn't.
Because those buffs could have come from
different people yeah they don't clarify and also fly you can cast at fifth level it's a third level
spell you you could be a caster a fifth level caster yes dc 16 right so it's not necessarily
the caster level six yeah right which means they're not giving you the lowest possible
caster level for that spell they're giving you just blown away
that this is it doesn't matter it actually doesn't matter so let's not waste any more time
well why doesn't it matter because she's 14th level caster and it's well if that's the case
linearity anything that she cast on herself you can just choose so that btc 35 right to cast to
to get oh and you got a 32 so you can't dispel any of it.
With a natural 15.
And you are a level 17.
Did your dispel work on me then?
Yeah, I mean, I rolled a
18.
Which gives you what, a 32?
Yeah, which wouldn't be enough.
You'd need a 38.
You'd need a 38.
I'm going to
give myself 106 hit points
to reach her off the heat it's hot oh wait a minute wait a minute we're doing it it's not
21 plus it's 11 plus what do you mean it's not 38 it, it's 28. You're 28. You're 25.
Why were we doing 21?
I don't know. Maybe the DC...
What was 20?
It was the extra 10 for the anti-
penultimate.
Great, you're making more comments.
The fly check was 20.
So it's not 20 plus. There's so many numbers.
Are you a level 14, Cas?
I'm level 14.
So it's 25 and plus. There's so many numbers. So are you a level 14, Cas? I'm level 14. So it's 25 and you rolled a 32.
32.
Yeah.
All right.
Okay.
Man, you know, it's funny.
We all have blinders for certain rules.
Dispel Magic is one that all five of us have.
It's not a blinder.
Here we are in the anti-blinder.
The rule doesn't make any sense.
No one gets it except there's going to be people that come out.
Yeah, but you say that and there are people like, what are you talking about?
Nothing makes more clear sense.
There's nothing more obvious in the Pathfinder rules than Dispel Magic. Someone's going to write that to us. I come out. Yeah, but you say that and people are like, what are you talking about? Nothing makes more clear sense. There's nothing more obvious in the Pathfinder rules
than Dispel Magic. Someone's going to write that to us.
I guarantee it. I know, of course.
Well, alright, so the point is,
that succeeds, and it's going to remove the highest
buff that is
on her. Or, because I think
because you succeeded by five or more, it's all
of her buffs. Stop. Stop.
That's greater Dispel Magic.
Which is also a burst. Stop. Stop. That's greater which is also a burst.
Okay.
Stop.
So did I get the displacement?
No.
Because she
the highest buff that's on her I just want to make
absolutely sure is stone
skin.
So she will lose her stone
skin. Well that's's good, though.
That is a good thing. Which you'd already started,
I think Baron started chipping. That's DR10
every single hit. Yeah.
For 140 extra hit points.
Just cheap. I mean, that
kept us alive all through book five.
Yeah, that's big.
Okay, so then I will
delete that.
Okay.
So then, is that the end of your So then I wonder if they have it on too
I wonder if the
The bows also do
I think so
Because that's why he was asking
What my weapon was made of
Unless that's a demon thing
I think
I think that they're devils
With that
With that inborn
Damage reduction
Yeah okay
Yeah I think
Okay
Then I'm going to use
The quick and mad magic rod
Once more
Okay
Ah fuck And cast a spell
Yes
Well now that we know it's so easy to hit
Come on
Well this time you can name the spell
Why would you want to do that
Because I want to take out the fly
So that is
You just need an 8
You fucking piece of shit
Oh god Yeah I mean this is when I That is, you just need an eight. You fucking... Jesus shit.
Oh, God.
Yeah, I mean, this is when I obviously botched the deeper darkness with the Abyss Gigas.
I was hoping it would never come back up again.
But you can just by calling out the spell.
So you're going to call out Fly.
Yep.
Roll a cash level check.
90, 17. Oh!
She falls to the ground.
Blum it!
Blum it!
Blum it!
Give me 5d6 damage and then a 50% mischief.
Yes!
The floor missed.
The floor missed.
And you can target her with this even though she's not...
I'm just trying to...
I'm trying to get...
Yeah, because it's not a two hit.
It's just...
It's sort of...
I always say it would magically like you're seeking out their soul in a way, rather than like trying to hit their body.
I'm desperately grasping a straw.
17 points of falling damage.
Rude.
Okay.
Without no stone skin on either.
Yeah.
Two out of the ten.
Ten of that would have been absorbed.
And then Metra is going to loop over the wall and position herself on the other side of the wall of force.
Okay.
Like, so down as well? Like ten feet above the ground so you've got a bit
of a barrier there? So she can't hit me with a spell.
Okay. Got it.
You just hit me with quite a bit of damage
and you even hit me with the disintegrate.
Speaking of people I hit with quite a bit of damage,
how about Sir Willamette Keswick?
You are...
You're a five foot step away, actually.
No, not anymore.
Oh, no.
Yeah, I would have been a five foot step away.
Way to go, Metro.
Way to go, Metro.
Remember this moment.
Jesus.
Hey, well, now you can actually deal damage to her.
What?
You can charge.
No stone skin.
You can charge.
Well, yeah, no stone skin's good.
But she still has displacement.
Can we all have a quick round of blind fight? One for each of us for this, Troy? Is that okay? Here's a blind fight. You get a just have a quick round of blind fight?
One for each of us for this, Troy?
Is that okay?
Here's a blind fight.
You get a blind fight.
Love a good blind fight.
Sir Will is going to try to take this opportunity while she's down and a little disoriented.
Oh, this is tough.
Yeah.
Sure.
Let me ask you a question.
Could I get on...
No!
Could I fly down, get on Lexington, and then move over, and then hit her once?
So dumb.
I don't know why not, because Lexington's movement is different than my movement.
Yeah?
He has his own movement in a round.
Yeah.
I feel like I should be able to do it.
All right.
Yeah, actually.
I think it is perfectly legal for you to do that.
I think so, too.
I don't want to overthink it and talk myself out of it.
Plus, I'm going to miss anyway.
Yeah.
So describe it.
He, again, I can't get this Doctor Strange image out of my head.
The cloak wafting behind him.
He eases down, spreads his legs out, heels up or toes up.
It's blood all over his cape. It's blood all over his cape.
It's blood all over his, and he's, oh god,
the innards.
First he casts his rays dead on Lexington.
And then
he settles into the saddle
and
just
and just
kicks him up a little bit
next to her and just kicks him up under my saddle. Just kicks him up a little bit. That was me.
We're having a little fun
here in the battle.
Next to her
and just looks down at her.
You're finished.
And he slices her throat.
Okay.
Chilling her instantly.
Let's see if it was her throat
or the illusion's throat.
It's a 36 to hit.
That is a hit.
You're on.
A hundred numbers
you could roll here, Joe.
Joe, come on. You're on, Joe. 100 numbers you could roll here, Joe.
Joe, come on.
Oh, my God.
16.
50 of them.
Started with a six, then rolled a 16.
Oh, my God.
That would have been the best cutthroat moment since just Sun got murdered.
Yeah, that would have been cool.
Think about this, though.
It's gearing up for a big hit at some point.
Sir Will is doing everything right, and he just can't connect.
All right, so that's your turn.
I'm rethinking everything about this encounter now.
But it is, to finish out the round, Jimmer's turn, who is still surrounded by two Bobows.
Okay.
So, again, it's just a sign.
Where to now?
Where is he now?
It's a barren and...
I can't believe I'm just spotting out these demons.
Well, why don't you just come to her?
I mean, Sir Will just say,
Here, Jimmer!
Now she's down!
And we can...
Oh, she's visible, too.
I can take care of the babows.
She's not...
Yeah, you can just run to her. I know it's a double move, but like...
I got him, Jimmer! You get her!
Okay, sweet. So...
And I can actually run.
I was thinking, like, I couldn't run in my armor,
but it's agile, half-plate, so...
It'll provoke twice from the Babows.
That's fine.
It's fine. Go ahead. Okay.
It is dark, but...
And they'll be visible then. It's true. Oh, actually,. It is dark, but... And they'll be visible then?
It's true.
Yeah.
Oh, actually, yeah.
I can just double move.
So he is going to go ahead and incur
and double move and get up close and deadly,
so to speak.
Nice!
So if she moves, she's going to provoke.
If she wants to cast a spell, she's going to provoke.
If she wants to stand up, you guys are right there.
Okay.
The Babas do have combat reflexes, so I'll get multiple attacks.
No, just one attack.
All right.
I really appreciate the effort.
I do.
The first one.
You even said it with like a quaver in your voice and a question mark at the end.
They have combat reflexes, so.
I get two attacks? I do this all the time when I'm at the end. They've come at reflexes, so... I get two effects?
I do this all the time when I'm against the reps.
All right.
How about a 31 to hit?
That hits exactly. Wow.
That was a natty 19. Wow.
Just making sure. Crits times three,
but only on a 20.
So that is going to be nine points of damage.
Jimmer's been
bloody, but probably just turns him on.
I bet it stings just a little bit because of the amount of relative light in the area.
That's right.
He can't even see the blood.
It hurts more in the dark.
In the darkness.
And then the second one misses with a 23.
Awesome.
And Jimmer double moves up within range of Linaratus.
And Terminus Est is 11 feet long.
Got you!
Got you!
Round four, maybe five.
It's Baron's turn.
Those babows are visible.
Okay, Baron has enough
move speed. Should I take care of the
babows or should I get a good shot off against
Lirinitis? Just take care of the babows.
We got it. Let's Take out the babows. You've got nothing more. We got it.
She's done.
Let's take out the vectors here.
You couldn't shoot a bean off of a fence.
Baron will shoot a bean right off a fence.
Man.
You bet five gold pieces on that.
Five gold pieces.
I will shoot a bean off a goddamn fence.
Yeah, that's it.
Double or nothing.
We don't understand gambling.
Baron will fly five feet forward,
will swift action, pull down...
Well, no, he won't do the swift action.
He'll swift action and he'll change his judgment
back into giving him a bonus against saves
rather than resistance against fire.
And then he will take a full round attack action
against these bows underneath him with no bane
because his weapon is not naturally attuned
to be baned against them
and he has already used his swift action.
No bane babow.
No bane babow.
The baneless babow.
Oh, I should say babow is actually my name in Chinese
with Angel's family.
Fun!
It means bread and they think it's really funny
because my last name is Burger to call me Bow Bow.
It appears you're the bread boy.
Yeah, I'm the bread boy. The real bread boy.
The real bread boy. Would the real bread boy please
stand up? Have another roll,
Bun Bun. Oh no!
Have another roll,
Bun Bun.
Her uncle from Hong Kong was
like a massive dump on
American cuisine on a cruise ride. he's like it's all sandwiches
That's all you Americans eat
Sandwiches all the time
It was really fun
Did you move five feet? I did
And here comes the first attack against the closest bow
With a 19 on the tag
My bow
Oh my god you're in a one shot
To confirm the first bow
Critical
Critical Oh my god, you're going to one-shot this. All right, splat! To confirm the first bow. Critical threat.
Critical.
Critical.
Critical threat.
That is going to be a 22 against Touch XC.
That is a crit.
Yes. Yes.
What do I got, Joe?
Sweep a bow.
Let's see.
What do we got?
Sweep a bow.
Sweep a bow.
What do we got?
Let's do, how about Adam from Plymouth, Minnesota.
Clear the room.
Your projectile strikes the target in the stomach, exploding their bowels.
The stench is horrendous.
Bowels.
Deal double damage, and creatures within a 15-foot radius of your target must make a successful will save or be sickened for 1d4 rounds.
Wow, will save or be sickened for 1d4 rounds. Wow, will save. So you explode his innards and
it just is so smelly and gross
that the other devil can't handle it.
So double for me is still
times four? Yeah, it's four times
them. Okay, not
18 squared.
Here we go. So it's
a one shot. It's a one shot. Which is
nice. Well, the DR will apply against his first hit.
So there's a chance he might still be standing.
That's what I want them to be, bullet cushions.
Yeah, but it's just minusing what, 10?
A very lucky number in Chinese, 88.
88 total?
Total.
He is still up.
All right.
And the will save? Oh, it's because you didn't have... Yeah, I don't have baby. All right, so the other guy's up Alright And the will save
Oh that's cause you didn't have
Yeah I don't have
Alright so
The other guy's gotta roll
A will save
Yeah the other guy's gotta roll
A quick will save
29
Success
Okay
Continue
He's not sickened
He's seen worse than hell
Second attack
Second attack
Child's play
That poop
Natural 20
A grant on the die
From Maladie Maladie.
Critical threat.
Critical threat.
Critical threat.
Critical threat.
Now the obvious confirmation.
A 20?
20 is a confirmed crit.
There we go.
Excellent.
That is enough to kill him, but I'd like to see if there are any extras.
All right, let's go to Tyler from Chatsworth, Georgia.
Chatsworth, Georgia.
Georgia.
The Quake Zone.
The Quake Zone.
You've entered the Quake Zone.
The Quake Zone.
All your training, focus, experiences, and thought coalesce in this one moment.
Triple damage.
As you strike your opponent through their vital area, causing immense pain.
However, misfortune on your next attack as you amaze even yourself with the violence of the attack.
Wow.
So you've got to roll twice and take the lesser on the next attack.
That's cool.
Triple damage, but then misfortune on one roll.
So definitely killed the thing with the craziest bullet you've ever seen.
So actually it was only bad for you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because you didn't need that much damage, and now you've ever seen. Yeah, so actually it was only bad for you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Because you didn't need that much damage, and now you've got to take the lesser.
But you'll, I mean, you're still going to hit this guy. Joe, let me ask you a question.
Unless you miss fire.
Why was that crit the second one and not the first one?
I wish it was, Matthew.
Answer his question.
Because Minnesota is better than Georgia.
Whoa!
Wow.
Now we get to the heart of the matter. I'm just saying what
everyone is thinking
and isn't talking about. Yep.
Alright. Yep.
Wasn't even thinking to think. I don't even
want to discuss what you just said
because it was abhorrent.
Joseph. I like Georgia.
Final two attacks against the final
battle. Okay, this one will be with misfortune.
19 on the first one, which would have been a critical threat.
The second one is a 5, which will be an 18 against Touch AC.
Still a hit!
Oh, right!
Uh, the first attack will deal 21 points of damage.
21 points of damage.
Okay, now this guy, does he take DR?
Does his DR come into effect? I would suppose for the first attack, yeah. Okay, I didn guy, does he take DR? Does his DR come into effect?
I would suppose for the first attack.
Yeah.
Okay.
I didn't know where it's a new dude.
You said 18 points of damage?
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
No, I said 21 points of damage.
You really talked me out of that very quickly.
You believe me.
It was 18 to hit.
Final attack, or do you have two more?
Final attack is a 15.
Against touch is still a hit.
All right, here it comes.
And this will be clustered shots.
That will be 20 points of damage.
Okay.
So no DR on this one.
No DR on that one.
Okay.
Really separates the men from the boys.
It is Linaratus and the Babau's turn.
Baron, are you still flying?
Yes, I said I flew five feet forward
closer.
How high above the ground were you?
The same height as the
Wall of Force.
So I think you said that was ten feet high or
twenty feet high? It's ten feet high.
Yeah. So I'm wondering if
it can reach you with a spear with
ten feet reach. Yeah, it can.
Jimmer, give yourself another eight points of damage.
I forgot they have sneak attack and that one that hit you.
Skid, do not take that damage.
Okay.
He has particulate form.
He is immune to sneak attack.
Ah-ha!
I didn't listen to you cast that.
Ah-ha!
So it doesn't count?
Yes.
Why did you cast that?
I cast it one of the times that Grant wanted me to cast a different spell and yelled at me about it.
I didn't yell.
Why'd you have to make Grant do that?
He didn't yell.
That's true.
I didn't yell.
He raised his voice.
Screaming.
Screaming at the top of his lungs.
I heard him shouting at the top of his lungs.
That's how I heard it.
That's what I experienced.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Okay.
Have you been adding sneak attack damage To other attacks?
That was the first time they attacked was that
Fucking bibbidi-bobbidi-boo
Bibbidi-bobbidi-cheese
Oh and y'all should be giving yourself
Three points of
Don't look at me
Three points
So six
Boy I'm just slightly above half Alright Uh, uh, Jimmer. Don't look at me. Three points. Me too, actually. So, six. Six for me as well.
Boy, I'm just slightly above half now.
All right, uh, Troy.
You're out of time.
I'm deciding how to unleash Prismatic Spray.
Because based on the placement here, it appears, uh, especially with Metra behind that wall,
that I can either hit
Sir Will and Jimmer
Or Jimmer and Baron
You could also feasibly die before you get it off
That's not true
You could provoke from both
She still has a ton of HP
She's got combat casting
What if one of you hits?
I'm saying she has
I can five foot step and she's going to five foot step
She's prone
Oh, she fell prone
Yeah
Yeah
Oh
That's why we were saying
Us being around her
Is a huge advantage right now
Because she
And Jimmer has
If she's going to cast from the ground
She has to roll
Or if she's going to get up
She's going to provoke
Jimmer has natural reach as well
Which means
He's got
Lots of places
That would provoke
Yeah
Yeah
I mean
So come back.
Wow.
Okay.
So this is.
She'll be fine.
She's going to get off her prismatic spray without a problem.
Prismatic spray.
It might be the last spell of her life.
All right.
So we have all established Charming Gaze doesn't work on any of you guys.
I don't have to worry about that.
I'm definitely doing this here.
I'm just seeing
if there's a way that I can get Baron,
Sir Will, and Jimmer, and I
don't see it.
I've got this. You guys can't see on the GM
layer. I have the
60-foot cones,
both of them.
Just can't make it work?
It doesn't appear so.
Also, Baron, I don't think...
Did you cast Protect from Evil on yourself?
I did.
Okay.
So, yeah, we are all protected.
Yeah, I had that in my notes.
If Metro wasn't behind that wall, or if that wall wasn't there...
You could get Jimmer, Metro, and Baron.
Yeah, can I quick...
I can't quick dispel the wall, right?
Standard action to...
If she cast the wall, you mean?
She cast it. Yeah, she cast the wall, right? Standard action to... If she cast the wall? You mean? She cast it?
Yeah, she cast the wall.
Standard action.
Again, I'm trying to just fucking
dippity-boo here.
Alright, so it's against...
Poor Jimmer's caught no matter what.
Poor Jimmer.
He's right in the middle.
Question is, is it going to be Sir Will
and Jimmer or Jimmer He's right in the middle The question is, is it going to be Sir Will And Jimmer
Or Jimmer and Baron
You know
Creatures in the area of the spell
Yeah, that's it
Alright
I'm going to roll a d20
1 through 10
Is Sir Will and Jimmer
11 through 20 Is Jimmer and Baron.
12.
So, first cast defensively.
Oh boy, I'm going to throw up.
There's my DC. Oh yeah Yep, Natty's 16
Against DC 29
So Prismatic Spray gets off
Against Jimmer
Oh you just got it, right?
Yeah, I've got Combat Casting at a plus 25
Alright
Here we go
This is the worst
It's the worst.
A d8 to see what hits Jimmer.
I did this spell how many times?
Last time, four times?
I think I did the max.
And nothing really bad happened except for Will's insanity.
That was really bad.
That was really, really bad.
I need a will save from you, Jimmer. I think that's
a good sign, right? No, if it's charm
or compulsion, he's immune.
Just to double
check it.
Oh no,
that's a terrible sign.
23. Jimmer,
you are hit by a violet
ray.
And you just see Jimmer disappear!
Oh, for God's sakes.
It's the worst possible one.
There's another one that's worse.
No, there isn't.
Yeah, no, there is.
You could be struck by two rays.
Yes.
The green ray, the dreaded green ray,
which is yet to come up.
It's just disintegrating.
Another fucking shitty roll on the save, too, for me.
It was DC 24 in your old adventure.
Un-fucking-believable.
Un-fucking-believable.
That one was DC 24.
Metra, your thoughts before I do something equally awful to Baron?
I mean, I can go get him.
How?
You don't know where he is.
That's the problem.
He's gone out of the fucking adventure.
I'm just always so confused by the Violet Ray 2 because of the big anti-teleportation magic that's in this castle.
And it feels like teleportation, but we've already done it in the past.
I mean, going to a different plane isn't teleporting.
Okay.
What is it, then?
You're plane shifting.
Technically, plane shift, the spell, is a teleportation spell.
Plane shift is the spell that you need to try and bring him back.
Yes, but I can't use it.
Why?
It's a teleportation effect.
So then how can he shift out?
Yeah, that's a good question.
That was my initial question.
This is what I said first, and then Grant said it after me.
Right, right Right right right Well
Got a lot of things we gotta try and figure out here
Let's deal with the
Rain it's barren
I'll tell you what
You want to just give it to Volstice
You want to just give up I just call it let's
Just call it yeah
Your thoughts
No one can say we didn't lay it out on the field.
In the Ultimate Episode?
Ultimate Episode?
Sometimes it's got to tip your cap.
Yeah.
Sometimes you got to say, good job on rolling the exact fucking ray to ruin the adventure.
Good job.
To ruin the story.
There's another one that's, I think it's worse.
Because the thing about the Violet Ray is, is creatively you might be able to get him back because you have someone that can jump planes
it would have to literally be there are hundreds of made up well this is creative this is part of
the game but you like to go mechanical i don't know if there's a mechanical find, planar ally. To me, this is the most GM, Fiat-y, let's get creative type possibility out there.
Which I think is going to make the finale even more exciting.
It makes this battles more tough.
We don't use spellcraft in the moment upon seeing spells being cast.
Could you not argue that there could be perhaps a role for Metra, who's a sorcerer themselves?
Even if I knew where he was, the chance I could...
From the material plane, this is plane show.
This is amazing.
You can reach any other plane, though you appear five to five hundred miles from your intended destination.
It's literally, and it's not even literally, it's a little bit better.
It's only slightly better than finding a human being who is plummeting through space somewhere in space.
Like, it's almost impossible to find them.
Let me.
Let me put it this way.
Bored about that.
Roughly 500 miles away from New York City.
I'm pulling up a map right now.
Okay.
I'll put it to you this way.
Cleveland, Ohio is 400 miles from New York City.
So he's going to land in New York and just be like,
Jimmer!
And he's in Cleveland!
And I have to do this
in the span of our combat.
But when I do find
him, I can then jump us back.
Well, we don't have to do it in the span of the combat, but
like... Well, maybe. Well, we have to
kill her immediately. What are the
odds of that extra-dimensional,
this plane being the extra-dimensional space
inside of my bag of holding.
And then Jimmer just pops out.
Give me a 10% chance.
There is a table somewhere that I can roll on,
but it's the end of the series.
I'm not as interested in his tables
as I am the story that we're telling.
Let's see what Ray hits Baron.
And I will say that like,
the teleportation rules of this castle
Like certainly prismatic spray
Isn't affected by that because it's just like
Violet ray effect
Sent to another plane
There's no like because of teleportation
It's just
It's just
I think what he's saying Skid is that it's totally GM Fiat-y
Like you can do whatever you want
That's sure
One problem at a time here.
Let's see what happens to Baron.
Because right now, you have to kill this Naga.
Yeah.
And you no longer have Jimmer's Sword.
And I used my turn, because I was not facing the Naga, not to use my swift action to enable my Bane,
but to reshift my Judgment back to giving me a bonus of purity to my saves
should another spell like this come at me
bro so let's see what happens though
give me a reflex save
okay
yeah I think that's a good sign
natural 20 for
42 44 against
spells or spell like ability doesn't matter
conversely you take 40 points
of electricity damage.
Man, what I wouldn't give
for 40 points of electricity damage.
Your right arm!
You might even enjoy it.
He doesn't have a lot of arms to give up.
That's true. Maybe his left arm.
Well, that
was unexpected.
It is now Metra's turn.
I mean, is there something I can do to determine what plane Jimmer went to?
Typically, if there's going to be a door open of some kind, you could see it for a second.
Through to the other side.
Or we could capture, try to end this combat, capture her within an inch of her life and torture her until she says which plane.
She doesn't know.
It's random from the ray?
God, it's random that he even got hit by the ray.
Yeah, she didn't even pick what ray to hit.
You're a 17th level sorcerer.
You're pretty smart.
Do you have scrying?
I do not.
You need Feyraza.
Scroll and scrying.
I mean, I could use limited...
Sending.
I could use limited wish.
Well, now we're fucking talking.
Wish him back.
What?
A genie appears.
What is your wish?
Bring him back.
And give him a full attack action.
Give him a full attack action.
That is my wish, Genie.
And don't pull any shit where you bring him back,
but it's a monkey's paw situation.
I can bring him back, but he'll be different.
That's not my wish.
Times dead is better.
I'm sorry you're limited. Times dead is better. Sorry, you're limited.
Times dead is better.
Shimmer has hot dog fingers.
Oh, no.
Produce any other effect whose power level is in line with the above effects.
Hmm.
Is there anything on Nargrim's steel hand that says it has dimensional anchor on it?
I mean, I...
I think that's a...
I've deeply considered spending all of my rounds when this combat started just casting
dimensional anchor on us one by one, and I should have.
But I wouldn't have been able to do anything else.
Actually, I wouldn't have even gotten to all of us.
Is dimensional anchor rounds per level?
I believe so, yeah.
So we just need a hot
sorcerer wizard spell.
Six or level.
So we should have just waited before we came back in.
But we didn't know we were facing
the Naga at all at that time.
So you want to use limited wish?
Is that an option?
Let me think.
Hmm. Hmm.
Hmm. I don't know why I did that. was weird i would smell it's like a booger your finger smelled like a booger were you just smelling a
booger in your nose have you been picking your nose or you just smell your nose shut up do you
have plane shift yes all right this is what i'm going to say. I'm going to say you could spend Limited Wish to have Plane Shift take you directly to him.
Okay.
So you're going to be able to burn the spell.
You're going to be able to go directly to where he is.
But now both of you will be out of this combat while you go through the rounds of going there to get him,
picking him up, and bringing him back.
And that's
how it's going to work. I think that's a fun
use of limited wish.
Okay. But he has to
do it now? Can he do the combat
and then do limited wish and find him later?
I'm going to be of limited use to you in this combat.
At this point. Displacement.
You don't have any more dispel magic
you feel like a coward against uh lena rose displacement i don't know how many more times
it is the single hardest thing to get over to just finish this thing is that part of the devil's
bargain i have to use it now or can i do it next round i like that devil's bargain it definitely
is a devil's bargain um and no you don't you don't have to use it right now but you don't know where jimmer is he could be getting yeah trotted by i guess my question is
do you think you could zip out and be back in three rounds or do you think like i don't see
that happening right here's how i think what happened he's gonna let me go directly to him
on this limited wish i find him i grab him i plane shift that's one round i grab him plane
shift us back that's the second round and then if we're off target i can
tell once we get back onto this plane i can teleport us back to this what was that line
from interstellar that little maneuver just cost us 50 years oh no i can't teleport no you can't
teleport you could be 500 miles away from the castle you got to use two limited wishes to get
back limited wish to get there limited wish to get back how bad do you want to me i mean enough
to use two seven-level spells.
I'll let you keep the plane shift.
I think that's fair.
The other option is Jimmer's gone.
Well.
All right, well, I guess that's the start.
You know what?
You think about it.
Well, it is your turn.
What do you want to do?
Yeah, you got it.
It's your turn.
What was your ruling on does it have to happen this round?
No, it doesn't have to happen this round,
but it is going to cost you two limited wishes to get back.
That's actually a very heavy tax, but, I mean,'t have to happen this round but it is going to cost you two limited wishes to get back that's that's that's actually it's a very heavy tax but i mean you have to
plane travel and get him back in a place that doesn't allow teleportation you really need
all right i can do it i can do it this round i have one i should have one more use of the
quick and mad magic rod the metro will rise up above the wall Above the wall
And I'll cast a spell magic on the Eratus
Targeting the displacement
Come on
Targeting
If you get that
You can leave for as long as you want
I think Baron and I can take care of it
Can we get coffee
Can Jimmer and I get pizza or coffee
Or something on the way back
Maybe that's the dimension that I'm in
Is this one
The pizza dimension
We can go to two boots
That's how they refer to
A giant Jimmer and a shadow casting matrix
One pepperoni.
Okay, natural 12, so that is a 29.
Which just, no, I don't know.
What's the stage?
He was 28, you were 25.
Okay, yeah.
So you want to get rid of displacement.
Yes, please.
Thank you.
Okay.
Metra.
Man, when you think about the ways a battle can play out,
and then you actually do it,
she no longer has displacement on her.
Yes!
And you've got a one-way ticket to wherever Jimmer is
if you decide to use Limited Wish.
I do, and now as my standard action, I use Limited Wish.
Okay, so you just, you use Limited Wish,
focusing on the limitations of Plane Shift
to kind of plane shift to kind
of alter it to get you directly where Jimmer is.
Following his signal, his path.
Also these two.
Matthew's doing the minority report thing with his hands.
Yeah.
It's really cool.
And also these two, Metra and Jimmer.
They're buds.
Yeah, they're buds.
They were adventuring together initially.
Yeah.
I think it would be fun if you find yourself
yet again
on a place that you haven't been
in quite a while.
The Shadow Plane.
Oh my God.
And everything is in black and white.
That's way worse than the Pizza Plane.
And you see...
That's way worse than the Pizza Plane. Jim see... That's way worse than the pizza plate.
Jimmer, in like an instant, you are hit by this violet ray and then just teleported to nothingness.
What do you do?
Me?
Yeah, when you see...
You're there for a second before she appears.
I probably assumed that I died.
Right, this is hell or heaven.
Yeah, this is the afterlife, like whatever.
He's just looking around.
And then you see little pale skin coming in the darkness ahead of you.
Did I get you too, Metra?
Where are we?
And Metra looks around.
Oh, I haven't been here in some time.
We're on the Shadow Plane.
Oh, thank God. No no it's a terrible place well better than being dead which is what i thought it happened to me yes that is better uh actually does it can i is there anything
dangerous happening around happening around here no no no are you injured at all i imagine just
nothingness i am Maybe a mountain range
in the background or something. 30 demons.
30 shadow demons. I'm a little injured.
You just see eyes surrounding you.
I would love to take a moment here to
drink a potion if I can on the next
round. Oh, you're going to hang out in the shadow plane?
Just for an extra round. You know what? You do what you want.
Jim is like, we need to get back
and help our allies. Vetch is like, just
relax for a second.
How would you feel?
She cracks a double IPA.
He said you wanted to get creative.
Don't push it, beardy.
Instead of going back directly to the castle and having to get that,
I use limited wish to take us to the Dimension of Time.
Oh.
Then you're going to have to use another Limited Wish
to take you to the castle.
That's fine.
Because then we could enter.
We could rest.
We could rest.
Wow.
And enter before?
And have all your spells back.
No, no, just come back at the same time.
Immediately at the time you left.
Wait, that's amazing.
Wait, is that what happens in the Dimension of Time? No, the Dimension of Time is incredibly complicated.
But time does not pass.
It's only the Dimension of Time.
Yeah, I hate it.
I don't like that.
You said you had to get creative?
I don't like that.
I hate it.
Can we roll back the tape?
I hate to get creative.
That's pretty creative.
You certainly don't remember me saying that.
I'll think about it.
Probably no.
Sir Will, it's your
turn. Your friends are gone.
Back to the fight. Presumably dead.
Of course, Baron gets the yellow
ray. It's the green ray.
The green ray is the ray.
Which even might
not even be that bad to some of you.
Yeah, kind of. It's not...
Nothing's worse than that to us right now.
Yeah.
Than that one.
We got the worst one.
Well, to me, having to burn two limited wishes is.
Oh, yeah.
Penalty enough.
Exactly.
That's what I'm saying.
It's bad.
All right.
Sir Will, she, her sort of doubling stops.
And she coalesces into one.
That was stone skin.
Form.
And she's prone.
I forgot about the prone.
Minus four to AC. Use she's prone. I forgot about the prone! Minus four to AC.
Use rage attacks.
First thing he's
gonna do is swift
action, lay on hands
on himself,
heal, and then he just takes
Roselight
and starts going
to town on this snake
to just cut it into pieces.
So here we go.
First attack.
Natural 16.
That'll hit.
What is the total?
Sorry.
What is the total?
Yeah.
46.
I mean, jerk.
And he does 26 points of damage.
Okay.
And there's no, whatchamacallit, DR.
It goes through DR.
The stone skin's gone.
And that was the only thing that was giving her any DR?
Don't worry about it.
All right.
Second attack is a 28 to hit.
That is a miss, even with the minus four.
Okay. Third attack is a 32 to hit? That is a miss, even with the minus four.
Okay.
Third attack is a 32 to hit.
That is a hit.
Nice.
Okay.
With the prune.
26 points of damage.
Man. And last attack is a 30.
Three.
Oh. Because she is prone. Yes. All right. Beautiful. is a 30 king 3.
Because she is prone. Yes!
Alright, beautiful, and that is
23 points of damage.
Okay.
This is light is coming out of
every scar that he makes in her
wretched, evil hide.
Is it hide? No, it's not hide.
Scales, her scaly skin. He's opening her up, dissect Hyde. Is it Hyde? No, it's not Hyde. Scales, her scaly skin.
He's opening her up, dissecting
her. It then goes back to
Jimmer, who is in the
in the
shadow plane. Would you like to hear a few
choice quotes about the dimension of time?
Sure.
The dimension of time is a hidden,
poorly known, and almost unreachable
plane of time that touches all known planes except timeless ones.
Metra has been there.
We've seen it.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
This cannot be wrenched by conventional planar travel.
Upon arriving on the plane, travelers find themselves in a transparent bubble surrounded
by countless chaotic images from their past.
A single exit provides access to any moment in their own life, provided
they can remember it fully and maintain continuous
concentration. Oh my god.
Those that fail to do so
are cast out of the dimension of time
and suffer various devastating side effects.
At least
they will become targets of hounds of
Tindalos.
At least.
At least.
Offenders are either excised from reality completely or trapped in an inescapable time loop.
That doesn't sound like a place you want to go.
There's too much risk.
I've just been there.
You don't want to go back?
It's like Detroit.
All right, Jimmer.
I'm going to say, well, you tell me.
You probably want to just hold your action here. Just wait so that when you say Well, you tell me You probably wanna like
Just hold your action here
Yeah
Just wait
And so that when you come back
You could enact
An action
Yep
This is the top of a new round
It is Baron's turn
She is no longer flying
She is no longer
Displaced
She's still prone
She is prone
Plus four against ranged attacks
And we have established Her touch AC is pretty high longer displaced. She's still prone. She is prone. Plus four against ranged attacks.
And we have established her touch AC is pretty high.
She goes next.
As far as you know,
she could just prismatic John again.
Oh,
I forgot to roll one.
Oh, I didn't go after her.
Will I would against Lexington to get rid of your fucking wolf.
Is he here?
Baron?
What do you want to do?
My initial inclination was to
take the scenic route. To fly
over the other side of that wall of force.
Put it between me and the
Bow-Bow, my doppelganger.
I should have ruined
a ray against the Bow-Bow.
Oh, you should have. You want to roll that now?
I might change what I'll do.
I have to be fair here.
The baobab was in there.
It is a red ray,
and it makes it save.
It takes 10 points of fire damage.
Regardless, I am now 60 feet away.
It is.
Resist fire 10.
Carry on.
I'm 60 feet away from Lyrinitis
and
I don't...
I've let this thing escape too many times.
It's time to
swift action bane
my weapon against aberrations.
Oh boy.
And it's time to spend some of
that grit pool for
Deadshot to resolve against Touch AC outside of my first range.
Oh, yeah.
There you go.
All right, this is what we need.
Here it comes.
Finish it.
The first attack will still be a minus two,
being 10 feet outside of my first range.
You're not moving from the last round, right?
So you're like, basically, she can't hit both of us with a prismatic spray unless she moves somewhere.
Right, right.
And because of your distance, it's probably impossible.
Now, do you want to roll a fly check to hover?
No, I can five foot fly, right?
Yeah, we established that.
I mean, you can, but that's a fly check.
Okay.
I'm happy to do that.
I'm also happy to drop and take 2d6 damage.
I don't really care at this point.
Yeah, well, tell me...
What is the fly check?
Let's establish the hover, just so that you can do your full jawn.
That's a joe.
Okay, but what's your total fly?
It's 11.
So I'm also happy...
This is why I was saying I'd be happy to just drop from the thing and take 2d6. i'm 10 feet high i'm happy to take 1d6 damage on this i don't care right right right
um it's just a matter of whether or not you land uh on your feet yeah you're not going to get a
full round action doing that yeah so establish what you'd like to do uh can i do an acrobatic
check jump off the broom and fire with my dead eye at this guy? Because that sounds pretty cool.
That's going to be your move action, so you'll just get one shot.
All right, then I'll do what I...
Can I do what I initially wanted to do then and fly?
Or am I now stuck?
Ugh, God.
This is so stupid.
That's okay.
I'd rather go slow and make sure you do what you want.
I think you just have to fly, right?
I don't think you fall.
Right, you just have to fly.
You don't have a choice.
You have to get out of your spot.
Okay, then I'll do...
So just fly wherever you want....where I was going to initially be then. I'll just fly further than I was originally have to fly You have to get out of your spot So just fly wherever you want
I'll just fly further than I was originally going to fly
Yeah, and just make sure
That we cannot both be caught in a prismatic spray
Make it a tougher choice
So they can't get both of us, that's all
Stay out of a cone
I think I'm outside of a cone
I don't really have a good frame of reference
If you're on the other side of me,
like if you're flanking in any way.
If she five-foot steps, you're both in the cone.
Here, you know what?
I will show you where that cone's going to go on her.
Yeah, exactly.
You can't come over to my side of the room, basically.
You need to just go to the other side of the room.
Okay, great.
I will do that.
I will change where I fly to the giant table.
If you could remove the cone, I'll place myself.
The cone stays.
The cone stays. Leave the condolence.
The cone stays in the picture.
Let me see.
Yeah, like over here somewhere.
Then she can't get it both.
Joe is pointing to the west on the other side of that beautiful table.
Basically where I'm on one side of Lunaratis and he's on the other side of Lunaratis, some 50 feet away from me.
That's your safest bet. Instead of flying
to the east, flying to the west
because then you are basically flanking
her prone body. You'll only get
one shot off. She does get a plus four against
your attack because she's prone.
What
do you do?
So if I fly here,
I can get a shot off,
and Lyrinatus will not be able to target both of us.
Right, she'll have to pick.
Why don't you want to keep going?
Because I only have 30 feet worth of move speed on this broom.
Oh, because it's a broom.
It's not a fly spell.
I think it's 60 feet.
And it's 40 feet when it's unadorned.
It's lower with someone.
Yeah, that looks good to me.
That should work.
Cool, cool, cool, cool uh here comes my single attack baned still so let's deny her right the eyeball from
out of the darkness of the babow 35 there you go to hit oh i needed a natural 20 Give me that damage. Ooh, that's good. Juicy Dam. That is going to
be 36 points of damage.
Ooh, Juicy Dam.
Nice. Pretty good. Do Nagas bleed?
Some sort of gross
ichor. Or do they not have time to bleed?
If it bleeds, we can kill it.
It bleeds.
It's black, oozing blood just
squirting out onto the floor.
But Aratus has been bloodied yet black, oozing blood just squirting out onto the floor. But Noradus has
been bloodied yet
again. She's in bad shape.
But not so bad that
she can't cast a couple of spells.
Don't forget to take your fast healing.
Yes, thank you.
Technically, I probably should have passed that fly check
because I think that broom gives me a plus four
on fly checks, but we'll just go.
All right.
Let me try and do a quickened Scorching Ray.
I've got three of them.
Let me just cast defensively.
Barely made it
Made it
Actually made it
I don't know if that's gonna work
Talk to me
I think you would still provoke
Or maybe not
Casting a quicken spell is a swift action
Yeah swift spells don't provoke
Right but
And I still rolled to cast defensively
Which was automatic for me Well I'm just saying the the odd part about is that it's a ranged attack
like as opposed to other spells scorching ray is a ranged attack so i feel like you'd open up
yourself to to attacks from doing a ranged attack that's why you cast defensively but
yeah but how would how does a person shooting an arrow cast defensively you know i mean it's
the same motion. Just curious.
But whatever.
Overseeing.
Range touch attacks provoke an attack of opportunity, even if the spell that causes the attacks was cast defensively.
Aha!
Fucking knew it!
Aha!
See?
See?
You know what's so funny is I remember reading that once and being like, we've never done that.
Say it again?
Range.
Right.
This is just a Reddit post, but I think it's correct.
Some spells allow you to make a ranged touch attack
as part of the casting of the spell.
The ranged touch attacks provoke an attack of opportunity
even if the spell that causes the attacks
was cast defensively.
There you go.
Good call.
Right, right.
It's a very different thing than being like...
It's just casting the spell...
Yeah, than being like insanity. Like that's different than trying to aim and shoot i don't think it's
that clear though because a quick quicken spells do not provoke attacks of opportunity and you cast
a quicken spell as a swift action the spell is not the issue yeah the spell is the motion of
aiming and firing yes you're right you're right but for the wrong reason but i don't think i don't
think those are two separate actions i think you're increasing the incantation of doing the spell so quickly that
it also would not the way those spells work it's like you cast the spell and comes included in the
spell is a ranged attack right and the range attack like the range attack provokes yeah i
would just think i would just think that you'd speed up that ranged attack as well as part of
the spell right on paizo forums yes casting a quicken spell does not provoke, but making the ranged attacks.
Wow.
Boom.
Wow.
That's pretty cool.
That is a deep, deep cut.
I remember reading that once and being like,
We got to the anti-penultimate episode when your last minute rule is actually correct.
Now the teacher has become the student.
No, the student.
All right, here it comes. So, you know what? Take it. I'm going to take an attack from you. actually correct now the teacher has become the student no the student all right here comes
uh so you know what take it i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm gonna take an attack from you
because i want to get okay both these spells off uh love it wait that's multiple oh wait i don't
have combat reflexes uh all right then uh all right i will swing here we go man she must have
a lot of hit points still if he's just like giving this one up. And I think you'll miss.
Is that a natural one?
Miss!
Miss!
No, no,
Will. God, no.
You know, house rule to confirm
your fumboning. This feels like the worst
Monday ever.
Does not confirm.
I thought he actually fumbled for a second.
Oh, God.
I wanted to see that fumble.
Oh, I didn't. That's one house rule I wish
we didn't have right now, just to see
what would have happened. But you missed.
Oh, my God. I would not play any game
that didn't have that house rule.
To be this level, you would be finally left
right with all these attacks.
Okay.
So I gotta decide here.
Who wants the prismatic spray?
And who wants the fucking 12d6 damage?
I'll take the damage.
Yeah, I know you will.
Okay.
Okay.
Well.
One, two, three.
Baron gets the raise. Four, five, six
Sir Will gets the rays
And it's understood that the other person will get the spray
Who gets the ray?
And who gets the spray?
I'm gonna throw up
You get the ray
You get the spray
Alright, for those listening at home
They know what I meant.
I'm sure they did.
Joe gets the rays.
Baron gets the sprays.
Oh, man.
Baron has been quite lucky with those.
Grant hasn't failed a save in four years.
Okay.
Joe, Sir Will takes 39 points of fire damage.
No save.
Oh, it's a touch attack.
You had to roll to hit.
What if you roll a natural one?
Oh, yeah, I didn't roll to hit.
I have to roll to hit three times.
Yeah.
You're going to hit.
You just got to get a natural one.
Okay.
I already rolled the damage.
Just take it.
First one is a 27.
Yep.
And then higher than that, 28.
And then even higher than that, 33.
Okay.
So you take 39 points of fire damage.
That's three attacks of opportunity.
It is.
Yeah, I wish.
Why not?
Why don't you take combat reflex?
Combat reflex.
Oh, you don't have combat reflex.
Joe, you'd think by now you'd learn how to build a character.
You would, would you?
Shut up!
I actually have a really low deck, so it wouldn't even work.
Even taking that feat wouldn't do anything.
Grant, you're getting the ray.
You've been very lucky so far.
Dude, if you roll a violet ray on Baron...
Oh, no.
Arguably, the two rays is worse, because then it's like...
It's just damage, damage.
Damage, damage.
Give me damage all day.
We can heal damage.
Come on man It's the green ray
Get this fucking shit out of the game
You're fine
This is the poison
Is it a fortitude
Green ray
What does it say
Tell me this
It's a fortitude
We've never had it
We really haven't
Yes
It's a poison, right?
Not bad.
So frequency once for a round for six rounds.
The initial effect of the poison is death.
If I fail.
If you fail.
Baron will be dead.
That's it.
And then it's one con per round after that, and it takes two consecutive saves.
And the point being...
But how is it death?
I know, right?
So I read a lot about this. The point being like, because
you're such a, if this happens in high levels, there
might be ways that you can bring, resurrect someone
but they're still going to be taking that con damage
and all this shit. But the initial effect
is Permajohn.
What? Anybody got a
bottle cap? Hold on, hold on a second.
Slow down. Literally slow your roll.
It's a fortitude saving. I have a bottle cap, but I'm not giving it to you. Because Literally slow your roll. It's a fortitude save.
I have a bottle cap, but I'm not giving it to you.
Because it doesn't matter. It's not a roll twice situation.
That's not what a bottle cap does in this game.
Exactly. So it doesn't matter.
A bottle cap only does a bonus.
It's not going to gain a natural one.
His bonus, I guarantee you, his fortitude save against this poison,
already passes at a natural one. I guarantee it.
Wouldn't you agree?
Well, that doesn't matter.
A natural one is a fail.
That's what I'm saying.
So a bottle cap means nothing.
I'm talking this out.
If it was rolled twice, it would.
What's the DC?
What do we know?
What's the DC?
It's got to be 24.
Is it always the same?
I think only a natural one is going to kill you.
As well it should.
As well it should. As well it should.
That's brutal.
I'm ready to go.
Baron.
Come on, Grant.
Five minutes ago.
Grant, let's be honest here.
You've had a hell of a run.
If you roll a natural one right now, it is God himself saying your time is done here.
It's a natural three.
Oh my god!
What's the total?
It's a spell, spell like ability or poison, is it not?
It is a spell.
Do I get a double?
Known as Prismatic Aspray.
Do I get a double bonus because it's a poison and a spell?
Stop.
28 total.
Oh man.
My god.
You just barely fucking made it.
Really?
It's DC 24.
To me, that's barely making it.
No, that's not barely.
A natural one is the only failure.
Sure.
So, yeah.
Oh, he did.
Imagine.
Grand live or barren live.
Imagine.
Oh, if you rolled a natural one.
None of you have resurrection.
I mean, that's...
Wow.
That's the kind of one that our buddies at the Order of the Amber die.
Everyone stands up at the table before the roll.
I should have stood up.
We should have stood up.
I wanted that green.
No, no.
I see everything. His screen fell.
I see everything.
His GM screen to the table.
My nipples.
Oh, it's about to fall again.
You can see my nipples.
Troy, GM's topless.
I don't know if you guys knew that.
I just cut nipples out of my sweatshirt
It's hard to pull back the curtain a little bit
This whole time
These seven years
Troy has been GMing topless
Do people not know that?
Wait, you guys don't GM shirtless?
How do you move?
Isn't it shirts versus skins?
I like to explore the space
Shirts versus skins
How come I can't be shirts?
Oh my god
I knew
I figured it was only a natural one.
I've been waiting for that green ray.
I think I let off four prismatic sprays in that first encounter.
Not one green when I was doing seven fucking rays.
Well, you're right that that is worse.
But I mean, for both of us and for Jimmer, I would imagine.
Fortitude is the strongest.
One, two, maybe three.
But like a natural one happens.
And if you die from a natural one, you've got to tip your cap.
You've got to tip your cap to the game.
Baron, you survive.
Sir Will is in very, very bad shape.
Taking 190 points of damage.
190 points.
More than that.
194 points of damage.
Of damage.
My goodness gracious.
It's just terrifying.
It is the one remaining
Babau Demon's turn.
The Babau Demon.
Does a Babau...
The Babau gets a ray.
The Babau gets a ray.
It's got to be in the cone.
That's right.
The ray can come at you.
The Babau gets a fucking violet ray.
Yes!
All right, hold on.
It's a will save, right?
It's a will save. See ya! Did you show up in. Goodbye. It's a will save, right? It's a will save.
See ya!
Did he show up in the shadow plane with us?
Yeah, he's like, ah!
Ah, we're going back down.
He's like, wait a minute.
I'm going to drink a potion.
This is amazing.
All right, he's got a...
I don't think I can fail this.
Well, no.
I've got a plus 18 to my will.
So I've got to roll a seven or higher.
Yeah, you're fine.
Natural two.
Natural two.
Oh, my God.
You know what Troy that's about?
He has to tip his cap.
You know what?
He's got to tip his cap to the game.
He gets sent to the dimension of time.
Okay.
Awesome.
I hope he remembers his life.
Is that mother over there?
He goes to step through and it's just not.
He's like, ah!
Oh, God.
And he melts.
She was wearing a green hat, not a blue hat.
No!
No trick!
A-ma-ma-moo-mow-mow.
Oh, the most important thing.
The darkness is gone.
That's right.
Now we can finish her off.
Finally, you can see without fetters.
It is...
Metra's turn.
Metra, you have no idea what's going on.
You have no idea how much time has passed.
You could come back and it could be a hundred years from now
and there's just an old man sitting on a hill.
Oh, yeah, Zephyr Hall.
I remember Zephyr Hall.
We haven't seen a place like're in the nation of time.
We haven't seen a place like that in over a hundred years.
Yeah.
Our Lord and Savior, Volstis.
He lives up there on that hill.
Good job.
Good man.
Praise Volstis.
Praise Volstis.
You do praise Volstis, don't you?
Metra considers taking Jimmer to one of her favorite coffee shops from when she was growing up here on the Shadow Plane.
Maybe taking a drive past her high school.
You guys should break into her high school.
The Shadow High?
That used to be my elementary school,
but then they moved the elementary school over here
when the shadow shifted, and we just put up a guy.
Show off your field hockey trophies?
Yeah.
We look at the display case.
See that one?
It's a bunch of Kyle, just like all looking kind of pale and tragic.
Oh, hell, that's you right there, isn't it?
Oh, yeah.
What's the Shadow High mascot?
The Shadow Demon.
The Shadow Demon.
Give it up for your Shadow Demon!
Give it up for your shadow demon It's one of the few schools that has more kids on the marching band than the football team
Yeah
Stop by Shadow's Coffee Shop
The football games were really treacherous though
Because the shadows could shift and all of a sudden we'd be in like
The ground would open up and a bunch of demons would come pouring out
Oh my god, it's like Blood Bowl.
Yeah, it was really.
Oh, yeah.
What do you actually do?
I cast Limited Wish and bring us back.
All right.
Behind the Wall of Force.
Behind the Wall of Force.
Well, you did wish it.
Wish it, want it, do it.
You guys appear behind the Wall of Force,
back in the room,
only allowed because you burned two limited wishes.
And with my move action, I pull a
potion off my belt.
You pull a potion off
your belt. Jimmer, you held your action.
So I'm going to say
you can go now if you'd like. Okay.
Oh boy. Alright, so Jimmer
is
just going to double move
and close in on... Oh wait, do I have to double move? I don't think I have gonna double move and close in
on oh wait
do I have to double move I don't think I have to double move
uh no
and with reach right yeah I can single move with
reach and I can single move and get a swing off
yep come on Jimmer show me what you got
show me what you got
critical threat she's
prone so it's a minus four to racey
natural one oh
all right to confirm you're probably not gonna confirm however oh yes oh right Jimmer Brett, she's prone, so it's a minus four to race C. Natural one. Oh!
All right, to confirm, you're probably not going to confirm.
However.
Oh, yes.
All right, Jimmer!
I have reliable strike.
Well, well, well, just, do you get two of those a day?
Three.
Oh, great. Yeah.
So that allows me, with my mastered weapon, to re-roll a d20.
That is a 40 to hit.
That is a hit.
Yes!
You've returned.
Hell yeah, I'm back.
Oh yeah, I'm thinking I'm back.
Boom, 38 points of damage.
38 points of damage.
Showed in my high school.
They had a fun little weekend in the Shadow Plane.
Now the weekend's over
and it is Sir Will's turn.
Followed by Baron.
Followed by Linaritus.
Sir Will is going
to... Hasn't got a single
hit this encounter.
Not true. Sir Will is
going to provoke.
He's going to change position to be flanking with Jimmer.
You're going to provoke to flank with Jimmer.
He just moves about 20 feet around Linaratus and gets on the other side to be flanking.
All right, so her neck snaps out to try and bite you.
And I'm assuming she missed.
Oh, natural 20.
Well, balls.
But a 34 probably doesn't hit you, right?
It hits exactly.
It does.
Okay.
So to confirm, probably not a confirm.
No, 25 to confirm.
So it's going to be exploding dice, is that what we do?
Yeah
No explosions, 13 points of damage
But give me a fortitude save
Okay
She's poisonous
Oh dear
That is, I got it, natural 19
Okay, so she takes a little
More, again, just a little more damage
But you've already taken a lot Just a little more Alright, just a little more damage But you've already taken a lot
Just a little more
A little more
All right, now flanking with Jimmer on the other side
As he hacks near her neck
Sir Will's going to go back near her flailing tail
And just try to eviscerate her
Finish this off
Here we go
First attack
Natural 20
Oh!
Oh, natural Joe!
Joe's a 20 on this one
Critical, critical, critical Come on, Joe Come on, baby Natural 20. Oh! Oh, natural Joe! Joe's a 20 on this one.
Critical crit.
Critical crit. Critical crit.
Critical crit.
Critical crit.
Come on, Joe.
Come on, baby.
Finish it off.
That is a 43.
Oh, wow.
To confirm.
Smite evil.
Smite evil.
And evil is smited.
That's a confirmed crit.
Yes.
Confirmed crit.
All right, let's go to the table here and see what we get from our friends in the niche.
Let's go to the table here and see what we get from our friends in the nash.
Let's go to Frank.
This is a crit, right?
Frank in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Oh, yeah.
Valparaiso, yeah.
Home of Valparaiso University.
Yeah, which is what I always think of when I see that name.
Go Shadow Demons.
All right.
Multiple members of my family went to Valparaiso.
Really?
Really? Yeah. Wow. Fellow Shadow Demons? Fellow Shadow Demons. Multiple members of my family went to Valparaiso. Really? Really?
Fellow Shadow Demons?
Fellow Shadow Demons.
This one is called The Bells, Bells, Bells, Bells.
You strike your target with such incredible force. Edgar Allan Poe reference.
The tintinabulation of the bells.
The tintinabulation of the bells.
As you strike your target with such incredible force
that they remember a long forgotten piece of verse.
Quote, how they scream out of their affright.
Too much horrified to speak.
They can only shriek.
Deal double damage and the target must make a successful will save or else become shaken
for 1d6 rounds.
Okay.
And what was your confirm roll?
42.
Is that right?
43. 43.
Okay, so I did not succeed on the wool safe.
So it's 1d6 shaken.
And then it's double damage.
And it's double damage.
But you don't double the smite.
You do double the smite.
Oh dear.
Oh dear.
It's pretty bad.
That is 51 points of damage on the hit.
Please describe to me.
Oh, yes! how you kill.
Oh, well, I want to say that these things
just kind of happen at the same time. Like, Sir Will is
like, you're back! And he's like, hell yeah,
I'm back! And as he's
saying it, Sir Will is now repositioning
to flank with his ally. She
snaps out at him and takes
her attention away for a second from
Jimmer, who just slices part of her in half, like cuts the whole back half off, basically.
And like her eyes widen to this like horrible, creepy size when she feels that happen.
And and then Sir Will just takes this small long sword.
And just right up under her neck where her face is just and it comes out the top of her head
just a little bit of it out the top and she just
and the blackness is just rolling down his arm and he's just you should be sent back
it is over one more left And he pulls out the sword
The ship was out of her neck
She just falls to the ground
It's like
Twitching
Writhing in agony
And as she's twitching
The castle starts shaking
And you've noticed lately
That it's been flying
Erratically
It's because he's watching and he's getting upset that it's been flying erratically.
It's because he's watching and he's getting upset and it's triggering the diadem.
It's because the diadem got a little shifted
when he's shaking his head in fury.
It just crumbles and then
all of a sudden it banks in
such a way that sends you all
sliding to the wall
to the left of you. How beat up are you guys right now?
I'm very beat up.
Extremely beat up. All right, so as this is happening,
you're literally like,
the castle feels like it's going on its side.
Do you do anything to heal yourself?
I'll say, come close to me.
Can we move?
Yeah, you're like...
In some way?
It's kind of like the old Batman show.
You're like trying to walk up
and we just have the camera tilted.
Well, Sir Will could theoretically fly.
He's still got the phone got a little bit longer.
But anyway, I just want to channel basically.
So I just need people within 30 feet.
30 feet, right?
Your series is 3D8?
No.
I mean, do I have one round of actions here?
Because for every round, I'm just going to channel multiple rounds.
Let's do one round at a time here.
And then I'll tell you what's happening between rounds.
Baron, what are you doing?
You see a close-up shot of Baron's face as the entire room behind him goes diagonal.
And he stays completely solid and straight
because he's on top of the room.
And then you see him reach into a pocket in his duster
and touch an alchemical cartridge and whisper,
Volstice.
And magical energy charges from his fingers into it.
I got one for you.
We gave her a nice last dance.
I can feel you watching me.
And I'm coming for you, you son of a bitch.
Sir Will will burst out healing energy from Ioma Day.
Everyone heals 35 points of healing.
Okay.
Does that bring Jimmer back to full?
I was already at full.
You were already at full.
Okay.
And what are you drinking, Medra?
A potion of Cure Sirius, and then my fast healing brings me up to full.
Okay.
And Sir Will, how far are you from full?
Very far, right?
Very far.
Over 100.
But then I could lay on hands.
Fine.
So it starts banking, and then it starts banking the other direction.
So everyone except Baron starts sliding down the floor the other way.
And the table and everything's coming as well.
Metro will ascend into the air to try to be in the middle of the space.
Try to keep herself level with gravity.
The gyroscope.
I would like to
pick up my lance, which
I dropped, which is right near here.
He sheathes
his sword and then picks up the lance.
Rises the banner
of Highbury high in the air.
Alright, and as that happens
suddenly all of you hear a series
of deafening, thunderous
cracks.
Just like, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
As the ceiling above you starts to collapse.
Everybody roll a reflex save.
Oh, no.
Oh, shit.
Well, I'm going to fail this one.
Come on, dude.
25, 23, 27, 31.
You all pass.
So instead of taking 84 points of damage,
you take 42
points of damage. Jesus!
You would have failed and gotten
buried by it, but instead you all take
42 points of
damage as the ceiling
collapses all
around you.
Oh, shit. Hold on a second.
I didn't do fucking Lexington.
Shit.
Can I block the damage from Lexington?
He made it.
He made it.
23 as well.
So 42 damage.
42 points of damage.
And so the entire ceiling above you crumbles.
And as you look out ahead of you now, you see
that the wall sort of in
front of you, so to the north on this map
starts to crumble as well
because up above you
the attic where you fought the spiders
and everything, that whole dome of the tower
starts falling
through the floor, destroying
the wall in front of you and just
continuing downward, presumably
slicing off a portion of the whole
tower as it goes.
The now exposed sky above
is just dark
and gray with black
clouds and rain is
falling down on all of you, just pelting
off of the exposed rubble and
running in rivulets out the now
broken floor ahead of you.
While the ground beneath you continues to feel unsteady, just shaking,
there is this weird pause in everything.
There's this unsettling moment of calm before you hear, somewhere above in the clouds,
a whooshing sound, followed by... Followed by a large object
flying out of the clouds directly towards you
and just...
Wham!
It hits the ground in front of you.
Oh, come on.
And it's the severed head of a dragon.
Oh!
Detached nerves and entrails dangling from its neck.
Oh.
It's the head of Noxymara.
Oh, come on! And you look down at her dangling from its neck. It's the head of Noxymara.
Oh, come on!
And you look down at her,
and there's just that one eye still open,
just looking like it's staring back at all of you,
frozen in that moment of extreme pain when her life was taken from her,
this blood splattered everywhere,
commingling with the rain pouring down.
And then somewhere, you look above,
beyond these gray clouds,
a voice booms from above.
There was a time when giants were worshipped as gods.
Your forebears understood our might
and built shrines
to honor us.
When a titan fell,
the world shook.
But now,
you pilfer
from our treasuries.
You occupy our land.
You kill us for sport.
And then you have the gall to
smugly believe that you do it all in the
name of peace. Endlessly you mock our arrogance, yet the world is now full of fools such as
you, who, as they groan in power, think themselves gods, killing with ease and without compunction.
Killing with ease and without compunction.
I knew if I could unite the giants, you would once again kneel before us or perish at our hands.
There would be no other option, for nothing is more shameful than a benevolent colossus who looks down upon the small folk as their equal.
But self-styled heroes such as yourselves have always found a way to thwart even the gods.
Thankfully, I have new allies by my side
who do not understand the concept of mercy,
who do not understand the concept of mercy.
Who will no longer be given the option to bend the knee before me and my new armies.
You and your kind will be exterminated.
Long has your journey been
to try and interfere with my designs.
But my
reign has just
begun and your
blood march
ends
now!
And we'll
see you next week!
Oh my god!
Oh shit!
I think he might win.
We can just take a minute and talk this out.
Diplomacy check.
Oh, God.
