Oh, hey, what's going on? It's Friday night and it's time for Chaos.
I'm going to say that three more times this season or maybe more.
We'll see.
I stumbled upon this UFO crackpot.
Guys familiar with Bob Lazar?
You know this guy?
He's the one now.
That name springs a bell.
Have a look at the laser.
He's this UFO.
Bob Laser.
He's this UFO conspiracy theorist.
He claims to have worked for the government where he would try to re-engineer extraterrestrial
technology that crashed in Area 51.
Is this the dude that testified that was actually in front of the subcommittee or whatever?
He got in trouble for a prostitution.
He's a real interesting character, but a total psychopath.
But he claims to-
They're called oophologists, Troy.
Tell us more, Nora.
His biggest claim to fame, well, maybe not his biggest.
One of his biggest ones is that, I think it was in Area 51, he found a document on
religion.
The way religion was described is that we are all containers for extraterrestrials.
There's this whole thing about container theory.
Have you heard about this?
No.
That religion exists. It was a construct of extraterrestrials so that people will try to keep their bodies
pure, essentially, so that they're ready to be housed by ETs.
You follow some sort of religion and there's various religions so that you try to keep
your body, your mind, your soul pure so that aliens can inhabit you.
You are contagious.
Too late.
Why flood the planet with sex, drugs, and rock and roll then, Troy?
Answer, it'll be that.
Hey, humans go to humans.
Who says the aliens are pure?
Who says they don't like a little good time?
Well, you know, I'm just telling you what I heard.
Maybe the very degrees.
The kitchen guy's got some great points that I just wanted to share with everybody.
I've definitely had a couple extra vodka tonics over the years and I feel like my container
is still pretty solid.
That's because it's clear.
It's a clear liquid.
It's a clear liquid.
That's true.
Stay away from the brown liquid.
You're less clear.
Listen, if they can make us, they can make extra livers.
That should be like a little Lego compartment.
So the Earth is just an intergalactic container store?
That's all it is?
It's a bedrock.
I mean, is this essentially Scientology
when you're describing it?
Isn't the whole thing just like very similar?
I think it's Scientology.
The alien ghosts that live inside of us,
and they're called Theetons.
There's a volcano, yeah.
Is that what that is?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kate, you mean you haven't been tested?
I haven't had my eyes on it. Hold on to these two metal rods for a second. It's quite simple, really, Kate, you mean you haven't been tested? I got some material.
Hold on to these two metal rods for a second.
It's quite simple really, Kate.
Billions of years ago,
countless aliens were flown here by an intergalactic tyrant named Xenu.
They were thrown into volcanoes and exploded with atomic bombs.
But their spirits have attached to us and are the source of all our human traumas.
And only by going clear and ridding ourselves of the thetans can we achieve our full potential as humans.
Simple, really. Oh.
Yeah. As when they showed that on South Park, as they did at the bottom of the screen.
It was amazing.
It was like, this is what they really believe.
I remember this actually.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yep.
Yep.
Now, I have to ask our LA friends, and feel free to change names or not answer my question.
You've lived in LA for a while, some of you more than others, some of you no longer live there. I imagine
you've stumbled into a couple of people have come into your friend circle maybe and mentioned,
hey, you want to go, what are you doing on Saturday? You want to come to my social club?
Have you met some Scientologists. I live basically across the street from Big Blue, the huge blue headquarters of Scientology.
I can literally walk there in five minutes.
And also, the improv comedy theater that I perform at most is directly across the street
from the Scientology Celebrity Center.
Yeah.
That's the UCB, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I used to live near there and I never had, none of my personal friends are into it, but
I used to get followed around in that Gelson's near the UCB.
Oh, yeah.
All the time.
Yeah.
I also lived in the shadow of the blue fortress.
It was something to behold.
I've been handed a lot of literature over the years, but I've never stumbled into a meeting.
All my friends who have done that, like, yeah, I'll get audited as a joke,
or all regret it because you wind up on a mailing list and it's really neat.
They won't leave you alone. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. They're really good at not leaving you alone. Even when you leave.
They still go. Even when you try to leave and then they meet you at the airport of the city
that you've flown to to escape them. That's so funny. In LA, it's like Scientology.
People try to convert you because in New York, I don't know if you've experienced
this, Troy, but I'll get handwritten letters from Jehovah's Witnesses.
And then when I lived in Crown Heights, I think it's because it's right by Bed-Stuy,
people would approach me on the street, Hasidic Jews would approach me on the street and ask me
if I was Jewish because I think they wanted me to be Jewish. I get that a lot too.
So you're Jewish. I'm like, sorry man, happy winter.
And that's just the end of the conversation.
Pretty much, yeah, they leave you alone if you say no.
It's nice, but.
It's usually during like one of the high holidays, they're just like, hey,
wanna come hang out in my putt?
But what's the suit code, I think it is?
There's like huts all over New York, you eat and there's a whole thing.
Anyways, what if they're right though?
What if they're the ones that are right?
Wouldn't that be the ultimate rational joke?
Right.
Just people who know what's going on.
No, like the Scientologists or the container folks.
Or the container folks, yeah.
In 20 years, we're all still kicking and the rapture arrives and it's just the aliens come
down, I'm here to claim our containers.
I mean just think about what if any of it was right?
What if any of these, however many religions we now have, one of them actually hit it?
It's the whole like, if enough chimpanzees are typing, and someone will write Romeo and
Juliet or whatever, what if somebody was just like, oh, they nailed it.
Then we all find out that everyone else is wrong.
They would blow.
That would suck.
Yeah.
Unless the Buddhists were right, because then I feel like there would be no real repercussions
for not being Buddhist. They'd be like, it's cool.
Yeah. They'd been like, it happens.
They'd be like, come on in.
There's no rapture.
Yeah.
I got way into this container stuff because he just, he made it. I know he's full of shit,
but the way he, I just looked up container and didn't give it any context and the container store came up as well.
It's a sign.
It's all, don't get me started Troy,
but it all reminds me of Gnosticism.
Like it's the idea that we're just like meatmechs
with a soul inside.
We're just a receptacle for some little piece of spiritual essence.
Yeah.
They all start.
Sounds right.
I mean Transformers nailed it.
Are we bodies that have souls or are we souls that have bodies?
Are we human or are we dancer?
We're dancer.
Lots to think about. I don't know. You play enough Cala Cthulhu, you start thinking, Ha ha, we're dead.
Lots to think about.
I don't know.
You play enough Call of Cthulhu, you start thinking, I don't know.
It's not me.
A lot is going on.
A lot of weird stuff going on.
Why not?
Why not the craziness?
Why not there being a Neolithic or a Cthulhu or some sort of crawling horror somewhere
in the world and enough people believe them?
They're just going to come here and eat the world.
Have you ever tried punching fog in the face?
I think not.
Have you ever tried punching fog in the face?
Because we have all fog face.
You haven't lived until you've tried to punch fog in the face.
Until the fog tries to kill you.
Yeah.
You guys had quite a fog fight last week.
Just got deep throated by fog.
It sucked.
You got to roll.
Oh, yeah.
We were-
Fog fight.
Fan art incoming.
No, no.
Yeah, I mean, where do we start from last week?
You were at the docks.
You were at Chowdhury's warehouse.
You got the ivory wind there trying to figure out what's going on.
Old Carter Tillinghast sneaks in there, tries to get a look at some stuff.
It's more components and whatnot.
There's something from the Pennu Foundation.
Is this the same crate that you saw being shipped out when you first stopped by the
Pennu Foundation?
If it was, still what does that mean?
What connection does this have to the parts at Henson Manufacturing?
It's all incomprehensible, but it seems like the Pena Foundation is moving things around,
manufacturing and moving them and sending them to Shanghai or sending them to Australia.
What is going on?
How does this connect, if at all, to Jackson's sort of thesis, his warning to all of you
that like something earth-shattering
is happening.
This is why you're involved in this mission to begin with.
You're doing it out of memory, you know, in the memory of Jackson and Elias, but also
because you believe him.
Even though it seemed like he was slipping towards the end, you wouldn't go on a journey
like this if you didn't believe that there was some truth
to what he's saying.
After seeing what some of you saw at the Juju house, you now know for certain that there
are things beyond human comprehension.
Hell, you saw it in Peru.
If you weren't a believer before Peru, Peru probably made it like, okay, well, now I know
there's other things going on.
But then five years pass and I imagine if these are real characters, you start to think
like maybe I'm just misremembering what I saw.
Maybe that skeleton didn't talk to me.
It was heat stroke and I was seeing things.
That guy in his chest, he didn't explode in a voice.
I was just dehydrated.
But then once you see that thing in the pit in the juju house and everything else you've
experienced in either dreams or dreams that seem all too real, you know that there is
some truth to this.
Seeing a medium, a psychic burst into flames after channeling the spirit of Jackson Elias
and others, you also know that if there is some great other being or great other host of beings
out there, they see you.
And even Desmond, who is now new to this group, has experienced being seen by something when
you tailed Gavigan and perhaps Zara Shafik to the British Empire Exhibition Museum.
This giant asp coming up from behind Cleopatra smashing the glass.
Didn't happen. We did it. You leave Chattery's warehouse and decide to turn in for the night.
The cab driver says, the fog's crazy thick. I I'm gonna have to let you off here. It's dangerous to drive in this. I don't want to crash
into a car or pedestrian. Do you mind walking like a block and a half? You
understand? And so you start walking and the fog it's been thick ever since you
arrived in London but it's extra it's extra chunky on this night. So chunky
that it seems to come to life and start entering any available orifice.
Your nose, your mouth, it's choking you, it's strangling you. You try to lash out at it. I feel
like one of you may have shot at it. Like it's not doing anything. The only thing that actually
hurts it is light. One of you discovers that your flashlight seems to it seems to recoil from the flashlight.
So I alluded to Ghostbusters, you start just crossing the streams and putting light on this
thing before it kills you, for it chokes you out before you suffocate completely and die on the
street. You're left in shambles yet again,
after another combat, you rush back up to Desmond's
apartment and find that someone has broken in,
or maybe a host of people have broken in.
Flip the place entirely and take in everything
that you took from Henson Manufacturing
and all of your toothbrushes.
No.
That's where we pick up.
The dental hygiene is so important,
especially in 1920s England.
They're gonna slowly kill us.
After that fog was in our mouths,
like that's the first thing I wanna do.
I know, you can't even brush it out.
It's like a floss.
It's got a fog mouth.
Fog mouth.
Do you have fog mouth?
Ugh.
Are you suffering from mist mouth?
We'll pick up right there with all of you
entering the apartment and seeing this scene.
Can we luck roll?
Yes, let's do a luck roll.
Oh yes.
Depending on the roll.
See how much you see.
No, yeah, let's see if you gain back any luck.
God damn it.
Success.
Ooh.
Just made it.
Just failed it.
Rats.
Cool.
Okay.
Poor Desmond.
New kid on the block.
Graciously offers his small flat here and
It has been ransacked
Not only are you marked perhaps, but people know where you are
Where you're sleeping?
Who you are maybe
sleeping.
Who you are, maybe.
Carter immediately just is like, ugh, whoa, and spits up a bunch of blood.
Oh right, you're rocked.
I'm fucked up.
I'm just wobbling, like, oh shit, looks like the stuff,
place got ransacked, huh?
Ugh.
Ugh, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,
stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,
stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop? No, no, no, don't do that. Don't do that or I'm gonna, don't, don't, don't do that.
No, no, no.
No, Lord.
No.
Something off a chain reaction.
How to save Mr. Tenenost.
And I'll sort of push papers off of a flipped mattress and try to get you settled.
I thought he was all the way in my, I felt like it was down in my stomach.
Jesus Christ.
Fairly just unfolds some newspaper, just lays it down over the coughed blood just
Look if I can imagine this thing it's right you said this thing was like fog to start with but then we saw like some sort
of corporal something right like
Ethereal tentacles, so it probably like biologically speaking like scratched everything up inside
Felt like I was drowning, drowning in midair.
My God, they followed us.
They got eyes on us.
Oh, that's not great.
Police car flies by.
Well, lock the door, I guess, just in case.
I mean, I can't imagine that they would show up a second time tonight after already ransacking the place.
So I suppose we're safe for now.
We can just turn on all the lights and make sure just in case the fog comes back.
Oh, good idea.
Yes.
And wait, they got all the they got the schematics.
They got the stuff that we stole from Henson. It's all gone
I'm sorry Desmond, but we warned you when you wanted to come with us
This is what happens
Honestly, the place looks pretty close to how it was. I feel like what we left just we're missing some stuff now. I
Wasn't going to say it
And yeah, it's just it it's totally cluttered just in a different arrangement.
On my notes, we're gone.
I'll take care of it.
That's what Garth again said.
I'll take care of it.
So they've been following us this entire time.
Why not? Why not stop us when? Unless they. Unless that was the fog.
Why not stop us? I think that's what they. What that was intended to do. Miss. Miss Gibran.
Whatever the hell that was.
But if he has the-
I still taste it tasted my bleeding throat.
Oh, you know when it gets rain to your nose
and you could taste it, oh, bleh.
Can someone first aid me?
Just first aid the shit out of me.
Yes, yes.
Have a seat.
I should like knock over more shit.
Just to clear his face. Whiskey bottles chatter. He should like knock over more shit
Whiskey bottles chatter
Just hand you a bottle of like like hair that'll get the taste out it's just like takes a belt of
Take the fairies takes a big swig pours a bunch onto whatever, whatever root wounds Carter has.
I think it's just, I think the majority,
the brunt of the new damage is all internal.
Well, so yes.
So drink it.
So drink it.
Oh, that sounds good.
Kill whatever germs were in there.
Yeah, so you can all do,
up to two of you can do first aid on one person
and all you need is one success from those two people
to get one hit point back within like 60 minutes
of losing it.
I got it.
Yeah.
Nice.
Got it, okay, so you get a hit point back there.
Regular success.
Wait, was that, okay, so we're doing it to ourselves.
Can I do that on myself as well?
Yeah, you absolutely can.
Okay, cool.
Was that for me, Nora?
That was for you.
Yeah.
Yes, that was for partner.
No more than two people can attempt it.
You're in a, you know, a relatively safe situation here
so you don't have to rush.
So we just get one back, you said, from first aid?
One from first aid, and then first aid,
and then if you wanted to try and find a reputable doctor
tomorrow, you could try to have them do a medicine check
to get 1D3 back, which would be a lot juicier.
And then when you rest tonight,
you'll also get one hit point,
assuming you get eight hours
and you're not killed in your sleep.
So I also take a swig of that
and also regain a hit point.
You rolled the same exact thing.
The same exact 47 under 50 for both.
Margo and Desmond, are you guys down?
Yo, yeah, I think his Desmond is maybe like shuffling,
I took my notes, they took my fucking notes.
You can almost see him like kind of almost faint
against the walls like,
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
I can't catch my breath.
My sorrows, I can't catch my breath.
You need to sit down.
Come here, sit, come here ward.
Sit on my lap.
Are you sure? I'll cuddle you. Yes, no, it here ward. Sit on my lap. Are you sure?
I'll cuddle you.
Yes, no, it's fine, it's not weird.
I wanna help him do a first aid check.
All right.
Great.
So we both roll?
Okay.
Yeah, you both roll, you need one success
between the two of you, but if you both fail.
Unless somebody's got better than I do.
Okay.
I could attempt as well.
I have a third of a B. I already tried and failed.
Yeah, wait, before I roll, I've got a 38.
Does anyone wanna help?
Desmond, out. You're better than me.
I will help.
Is there a limit to how many times?
With, oh yeah, just two.
Just two, okay. Oh, she already did.
I got poor. Well, here we go then.
I'm already damned, that would've been- I'm sorry, Troy, is it just two. Just two, okay. You sly Marty, damn that would've-
I'm sorry Troy, is it just two people per person
or just one person can make two at a time?
Yeah, I think the intention of it is that
up to two people can aid and that's your shot
in like within 60 minutes of,
it's meant so that you can't just keep spamming it like,
all right, well now let's try again.
Okay, then here we go.
I got you Dez, come here.
Okay.
Five ward. 40, you Des, come here. Okay. My ward
40 I didn't get it. You can spend luck. I got 46 over 38 I feel like even though he's not here rest God rest his soul Vaughn spent luck to heal me in a cave once
He's not dead
Wherever wherever he is
Are we sure?
Gart, is this nuts dead? I'll spend I'll spend eight points of luck
Get dead over the hump
Little HP. What about Margo? I'm only down one hit point. So I just think I just need to sleep it off
To have a swig of this whiskey or whatever. This is I'll be fine
Margo is so sane, so healthy,
so guaranteed to not last through the episode.
I really want to mess her up so bad.
I'll leave the light on and it'll just put something
over your eye to sleep.
You said that he said, Gevagan said he would take care of it
but if he has
the ability somehow to
Conjure whatever that was I
mean
Given the amount of weird old books we saw in his basement. It wouldn't surprise me
Wondering if we should go back tomorrow.
Let's just. OK.
To Pettyhugh.
Coughs up some more.
Carter's like, enough is enough.
All right. We need some fucking help.
All right. This is not. Man, this fucking fog monster's coming at us.
Plus the taxi cabs. they're unreliable.
They got sailors that don't want to talk to us.
Shit's going south fast.
We need to either...
Either we wrangle this cop guy, or I'm sorry, ladies.
What's the deal with this fucking order?
Let's just talk about it right now.
Do they have magic shit?
I don't care how uncomfortable we get right now.
Listen to me. No!
Feroz, I see your face.
Margo, I know that face.
Let's talk it out, okay?
For real, we almost died.
If there's a way for us to not almost die again,
I would, I would love it, okay?
I think you're getting worked up.
I'm getting worked up.
It's time.
It's time.
You need to relax.
Let's talk it out.
This is some newfangled family therapy shit.
This is nuts at time or is it place?
If you guys are a part of some group.
I don't know what other, Margo, we might as well at least let them know,
this is, as far as I'm concerned,
the only family we really can rely on right now.
What else is there to lose?
What's going to happen?
Furthermore, to be honest, there is not much that I know
other than it's been social gatherings
and I'm, you
know, this fledgling and newly appointed member.
There's really not much we get other than like fancy cocktail parties and cute little
robes at this point.
I don't know shit.
My father, on the other hand, that might be different.
I don't know.
I don't, it doesn't sit well with me that they,
I feel like as though that they've sent both Margot and I,
they must know something for the two of us
who didn't know each other prior
from two different parts of the world
to be involved in the same organization,
to be involved in this shit.
What are they, Carter goes to Margo.
He like, kind of like moves off the couch.
He gets on one knee in front of her, grabs her hand.
We are nuts doing this.
And he looks up at her and he goes,
do you want me to die?
Do you want any of us to die?
No.
So what's more important? Keeping your secrets?
About this fucking thing?
Or getting it out now?
Can these people help us?
There's nothing to tell you that will help.
Sounds like Mr. Telenostph, if indeed these two are part of a secret society or organization.
And it's rather like being a 33 degree Scotch right mason.
Lot of spooky symbolism but not much in the way of actual spell craft.
Bummer.
I mean I can't make zombies at this point to be fair.
Excuse me? What's that now?
We do have that up our sleeve.
Magic is real, and we are just fledglings in this order.
We're very low level, we don't know a lot.
For God's sake, Missal, is there a London branch of your order where there might be some sort of supreme magus who knows the...
There might be.
Or a famous...
For the first time since we've been in England, someone should call your father.
I don't know if that's the best idea because let's say that they aren't involved in this in some way now
he knows our whereabouts and the mess we've been in.
Yeah, who cares?
He's just such a thorn in my side sometimes.
I just...
Look, 99.9% of the world sucks.
People suck, okay?
Present company excluded in Double V.
But tell him what exactly?
What we found?
Hello, Daddy.
I don't know how to exactly put this, but we've stumbled upon some ancient artifacts
that these cultists are using to summon some
eldritch gods that are now after us,
but we don't know if they are after us
or if these just spells that are being flung our way.
But whatever it is, we're in deep shit
and we're constantly on the brink of death
every second we turn.
Yeah, that sounds great.
No, Zand'har father will be marked,
just like Desmond is now.
We've put him in danger.
But then again, why the hell was he over
at that dinner party?
All of it, all of it is just, it's too much to wrap my head around at once. There's
just too many moving parts. There's too much too many red threads connecting to each other.
Too much for anyone to wrap their head around. There's no my head can't get around it. I would
have said that what I saw tonight was so much madness two nights ago. Well I told you. Until I seen and heard. Look, Gavigan said he'd take care of it. And then the fog came
to life and tried to strangle the life out of each of us. He tried to kill us all tonight
in a way that we could never express to any authority. Not that any authority would pay
attention to us. I'm not inclined to agree with you, Mr. Tillenhouse. 99% of people do not suck. They're being sucked. 99% are being sucked by the 1%.
They're being sucked dry. And if we go to the gendarmes who are their security force, I'm not
about to take my trouble to the police.
I'm not about to take my trouble to the police.
And the Cantagons are- It brings me back to my point.
To bring me back to my point that you're the only ones that I feel as though I can trust right now. I don't know who to believe. I don't know who's involved in what.
It's this point that's just us. All I know is that we are absolutely in this together because we are
the ones constantly being on the brink of death. Some of it I will admit because we are the ones constantly being on the brink of death. Some of it, I will admit, because we are committing arson and putting ourselves in danger.
Yes, but we're only doing the right things.
That's all I know.
This would be a good point to tell you, Desmond, because I keep forgetting that you have
newly joined us.
Magic exists and I do have an ability now to summon or create what would be known or believed to be as zombies.
And this is a perfect example. We cannot go to the Order without anything concrete.
Last time we went, we had artifacts, we had proof of things that happened. We don't have anything right now.
You don't think they'll just believe you?
And we just tell them that we're scared and we have stories.
Do you think the order is like one little like they're our parents? No. If they can't look.
But maybe they've been following us all along just like.
Do they want to like combat the forces of evil or do they want to fucking put on robes and
drink tea like that goddamn vicar?
Remember we thought he was part of the Order of the Awesome Golden Whatever the fuck?
And there's like how much old guys who hang around like a circle jerk.
The Midlands Historical Society?
I think I've got some of their monographs in there somewhere.
I mean there's a reason why.
Standing Stones of rural England.
If this thing, if this organization exists to deal with shit like this, why would they
turn us away?
Especially if we got one of their daughters telling them.
Do you have a contact for this organization here in the city?
Here?
No, I mean, unless I...
Look, I'll tell you a secret about my life.
How's that?
Well, it'll be a tit for tat.
Okay?
It'll be great.
I suppose I could ask my father if there is someone in the city that I may contact.
Because I don't know who else we can turn to that's not going to send us Raven into an asylum. Anyone we brought this to treat us like an absolute badlamite.
Yeah, or be in on it.
And that's the gamble that we're taking, isn't it?
Well, either or not.
I don't trust the police at this point, I don't know.
This is a mistake. We can handle this.
We either find the backup that this uh...
this order might be able to provide.
But it seems to me that Gavigan put a mark on us, tried to kill us.
We know where he is.
We know something about us.
What if Margo and I...
We've already struck at them once, we burned down one of their...
one of their factories.
Why couldn't we knock them over the head?
What if Margo and I are just collateral damage in some greater plot?
I don't know if contacting more people would put us in more harm.
I don't like to hear you talk this way.
Sometimes you say things like,
we are worthy of knowledge and this is meant for us to know.
And then sometimes you think that you're a pawn
and we're not.
We need to prove that we are worthy of this knowledge
and we need to bring it to the order.
In a certain way, we can't just contact them. But what if they're not, Margo? What if they're not worthy of this knowledge and we need to bring it to the order. In a certain way, we can't just contact them.
But what if they're not, Margo?
What if they're not worthy of this knowledge, but we are?
And then we will have more people with
their goals is to have our heads.
Look, I said what I think should happen.
It's obviously up to you guys, but I don't, I'm starting to run thin on the concept that
we can do this on our own, especially after this fucking fog face showed up out of nowhere.
With no warning.
We could try a luck roll.
Maybe a no roll?
Or a knowledge roll?
Like, should we contact dear old dad? With no warning. We could try a luck roll. Maybe a no roll, a knowledge roll.
Like should we contact dear old dad?
And like if you don't want to contact your dad,
we can like, do we know anyone by random in the city?
Yeah.
Do give me an intelligence roll
to try and determine based on your standing with the order.
I'm pretty smart.
Hard, hard success.
Hard success.
I got, sorry, regular success.
24, yeah.
Imagine if you joined like the Freemasons today and you got someone to vouch for you and got in.
At first, it would probably be pretty nonchalant.
A couple of cocktail parties, hang out, meet people, feels like a social club.
hang out, meet people, feels like a social club. Then the longer you're there, the more that you can be trusted. Maybe more secrets are revealed. I would imagine at this point you are in this,
you're beyond the social phase, but you have not quite been let in.
And so you're at that point, I think, and you're at that precipice where you're not
even sure if being let in is the right way to go.
Maybe at some of these order gatherings, you've turned a corner and saw something that didn't
seem right.
I mean we ended last season with Margo in this very eyes wide shut type ceremony
with that holding the mask over their head and they're all nodding. You know it
seems like there's that they're searching for knowledge but with Feyreuse
you have your father there who is a higher up.
Now, while your relationship with him is strained, you do feel like he would do anything to protect
you even though he's shielded you from maybe some hard truths about your past and about
what really goes on at the Order. So you think that
while you don't know anyone here in England, you could call your father, but
then you risk letting him know where you are. Now the audience knows that you
already know, but Vaughan didn't tell you that.
Well, maybe we sleep on it.
And if, maybe if whatever we attempt tomorrow
Whatever we attempt tomorrow doesn't seem to give us any leads or give us any new insight or any direction perhaps.
Perhaps maybe then I could try and contact him but again it's presenting itself an additional risk to everything else we're doing.
As long as you understand that and are okay with that, not ready to deal with any repercussions
of that.
Yeah.
Well, you do you, girl.
If you want to wait? We can wait.
Tell an a**.
If you've got the power as a speech about you not to rob you of your rest.
Remind me what it is.
You saw in those crates down at Charterys.
Oh yeah.
Human skin was it?
It's a foot.
It's a peeled off foot.
It's just real gross to even say aloud.
Seems to me that that's rather incriminating cargo.
Now I don't like to,
like I say, I don't like to involve them, the police if I can help it.
But if they were to get an anonymous tip about
smuggling a human body part and queer remains.
I might be a way to strike back at them, distract them so they're not so focused on us and able
to conjure the very elements themselves against us.
Yeah. Yeah, we could call Barrington. Is that our guy?
Oh, yeah.
So Scotland Yard part two or whatever it's called.
The new Scotland Yard. Yes, thank you. The new adventures of Scotland Yard.
A new adventures of Scotland Yard, yes.
You have your contact Barrington, yeah, for sure.
Little anonymous tip.
So, what do you think, rest for the night, gain an HP, and then approach everything with
a clearer head in the morning.
You did just have a harrowing night.
There was bar fights.
There was Norwegian sailors.
And there was a fog monster that entered you. Yeah, just don't put it like that.
That was all one night.
It's a lot.
A rough night.
All right, Carter starts fluffing a pillow on the couch.
I'll take this quarter of the couch.
The church's bar goes like,
what'd you think I was gonna do when I got on my knee?
I don't know what to people do
once they get on their knee and grab a hands.
So snow, we've had this happen before in our little group.
That's true, that's true.
So what's your planning?
I'm not, I'm going to bed, is what I'm doing.
Okay, all right.
Didn't mean to break your heart before.
Shut up, cut, cut, cut, going to bed over here.
And she like goes over to like an armchair
in the other corner of the room.
She's like huffing and puffing.
She's like, cut, cut, cut.
I can get some crackerjacks, maybe get a ring out of that.
We'll see.
So day nine in England, Friday, February 13th, 1925 comes to an end.
Maybe we just see a wide shot from across the street where we see Desmond's apartment
with the lights on.
And now it's daytime, morning, sun's coming up, lights are still on in that apartment.
It's Saturday, February 14th, the Feast of St. Valentine's.
The full moon happens Tuesday night. Still don't know what goes on, but you do have that sort of touchstone that like that is a key date.
If you're following, you know, cults and weird shit, full moon, that's always a bad sign.
Never good for the full moon.
And so you are sitting here Saturday morning, Sunday, Monday, two and a half days away from possibly missing
out on something if you don't figure out what's going on.
Or maybe you're better off not pursuing it, having almost got killed while trying to break
into a manufacturing plant, killed by the very fog around you.
What is the plan for Valentine's Day?
Romantic dinner.
Someone made plans?
Let's find a reputable doctor, not the asshole I went to before.
Yeah, who needs a doctor?
Is there a doctor in the house?
I mean, it sounds like Carter and Desmond are pretty...
Carter in particular is in pretty bad shape.
Banged up.
Pretty banged up.
And I'd also like to buy a sweet bomber jacket.
For leather armor. And I also like to buy a sweet bomber jacket
So you were mentioning I think pre-show right that you were using the armor section of column I don't know why I never thought I never thought it's the first time I played a role-playing game where I wasn't like
How do I protect my body?
Well, you know regular civilian doesn't have like a flak jacket, but yeah leather jacket gives you what dr1
Basically you take one less damage. Yeah, it takes one less. Yeah
All types of damage like a bullet is one less and a knife.
I didn't look that far into it. I just saw I could get a leather jacket. When I shoot or stab you later
We'll Google it. Okay
All right, so you want to you want to go to a doctor with Desmond.
Are you guys all traveling together?
Are you splitting up?
Just kind of free-form brainstorm of the things that you want to do today.
And be aware, not knowing what the hell to do is a very real option.
You're kind of like at a standstill.
And so you can also just wait for the action to come to you if it does.
Well, I'm kinda there, where it's like we're really on the back foot.
Know that they're conspiring against us.
Know they have identified us as a threat.
Know we're responsible for lurking and lurking and slinking. I've tried to kill us.
Know where we're living and, uh,
we don't really have a clear way little scrappy nobodies that we are to get at
them. Um,
well, I like Des's idea about we should at least throw a phone call at Scotland
Yard.
Yes.
Cause that ship is leaving.
They're going back this morning.
That's what the guy said.
There was the cranky leader guy with the mustache said, I want it all loaded up this morning.
I want and I'll be back to check on it before it takes off.
I'm pretty sure that's what happened. So if we could kind of disrupt that a little bit, hit the old urgent care and then and then we might want to
I mean I think Margo had called New York or wired New York for money right and it
was coming back to London so we could get some cash and then move locations and
find a not Waldorf Historia.
Well, I guess it would be Historia, right?
Whatever, Waldorf London.
Waldorf London.
Yeah, move to a different location if you're marked here.
It may not be safe.
I don't think it makes sense to just hang around here.
Favors, while we're on the phone,
have you had a change of heart about calling your dad?
I think since we...
How about this, how about this?
Before you guys get into that,
Desmond and I are gonna hit the hospital.
You guys can hash it out
without worrying about us being around.
Are you sure you don't want to be around?
Listen to everything we have to say?
I mean, I know everything anyway, I'm cool.
Oh my God, that's just so annoying.
I mean, they basically spelled it. It's, it it. It's just, it's a social club.
Scarcely know what it could do for us.
It's like a good cop, bad cop kind of thing is going on.
If we keep hitting dead ends, there may not be any other viable choice. I'm okay to call him but I can't make any promises that it
would be of any help.
It's better than nothing. I mean, unless you're saying that the downside to it is that they
suddenly want to kill us, which I don't think they will. You guys don't seem to have the
greatest relationship on Earth, but.
I don't know.
Again, this is all assuming that maybe he knows something that I don't, which maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.
I don't know.
There's.
There just seems to be.
There's no guarantees to it.
So I suppose if we have nothing else to lose
and if we don't know what next steps take,
then I guess it doesn't hurt.
And if for some reason we do change direction,
we just skip town before he finds us.
Great, we've done that before.
All right, I'll call up, let's call up Scotland Yard.
I'm pretty sure Desmond probably doesn't have a phone in his.
Jesus Christ, Des!
What?
Does he just have a phone?
It's because I live within my means.
I think everyone has access to a telephone.
I could, we could, we could ring him down at the scoop.
Great.
Let's do that.
It'd be a wonderful time to see your uncle.
Great. Let's do that.
It would be a wonderful time to see your uncle.
Yeah.
If we can just, if we can in our bedraggled fashion walk over to the scoop to drop that
tip to Barrington.
All right.
So you, the two of you or all four of you walking to the scoop?
Let's unless, I assumed Carter and I, but if the whole force wants to come, let's do
it.
All right.
So you leave to begin walking towards the scoop.
You get outside, walk to the end of your stoop, turn left and start walking and you hear a voice.
It says, I must say, it's been difficult to find.
Carter, you recognize this voice immediately.
Mom?
Inspector Harrington.
Ah, yep.
I had some of my men tail you after we met.
They lost your trail.
You have been difficult.
What happened to Mr. Villiers?
Vaughn is taking a brief respite in the countryside,
but he'll be back with us in no time.
Did you guys not follow us to the point of preventing
breaking and entering from just happening?
I'm sorry.
We've been through the shit.
Barrington.
Listen, we were actually about to call you, if somebody doesn't have a phone.
The Chowdery of Limehouse Docking Shipping Company.
I tell him the correct name of that place.
Limehouse Docks Chowdery's Warehouse.
Yes, there we go.
We have it on very good authority
that they are illegally shipping human remains.
And they should be, and other kinds of
just nefarious artifacts.
And they're up to no good.
And I think you guys should check it out
quick because they're about to ship all that stuff out wait take a step back
what have you been up to what have you learned well while you were spoke well
you were skulking around keeping an eye on us copper this is dead man by the way
Desmond this is uh inspector Barrington we We've been waving, going around, trying to learn exactly what it is that's going on around here.
Seems to me you've got a string of murders you can't solve.
And this lot is drawn ever closer to what exactly is going on.
And this child-rearing character is shipping boxes from the Penar Foundation away and around the world.
What contains human remains?
Panhear Foundation. So this is all tied up in that.
Yeah, so it would seem.
So what is your goal here? What are you trying to achieve with all of this?
Save the world, baby.
Something's going to happen on Tuesday, and we don't know about it yet.
Oh, you're here now too?
Uh, yes, we're here, right?
I don't remember.
I guess we all know.
She's out the window.
Inspector Barrington!
Oh, hello!
I was trying to text my wife to bring the dog upstairs.
On Tuesday.
The gang's all here.
What's our goal?
Our goal is what yours should be to stop these, keep these murders from continuing.
So you believe this is all tied into these murders?
Oh, we know it.
Yes, I believe it.
Where are these remains coming from, if not from these disappearances?
I think it's probably all connected.
disappearances. I think it's probably all connected.
Well, yes, this is evidence.
I would agree with that. If you found human remains there at Chaldery's warehouse, you could trace it back
to Penhew Foundation's shipping.
And you'd blow the whole thing wild open.
Now, we can't exactly go blasting in there being
civilians as we are, though some of us do have press credentials. We're not the sort
that we just kick down the door to somewhere and burn the bleeding place down. That's what
power belongs, is vested of course in the authorities of the state.
So the Peña Foundation is a respectable organization.
This isn't something we could just go stampeding into.
Anything else?
While we have it on, we have it on good authority that these are connected, but regardless of
whether that's connected or not, there are human remains that are going to be shipped.
I thought that this should be alarming enough for you.
No, no, this is certainly alarming. But this is all you have? Sounds like you're pissing in the wind.
Also, someone tried to kill us last night.
Someone tried to kill you.
Something. It's our thoughts that, um, yes, that our Garavigan and the Pentahue Foundation don't care for
us getting a little too close to their operation.
And it's where more we've got.
We know that the Pentahue Foundation has connected with that warehouse, what burned up in Derby.
And what they were manufacturing are some very, very peculiar things.
And I believe they, these artifacts and fabrications that they were making under the deepest secrecy.
I, as an agent of the press, of course, I'm not allowed to give away all my sources, you understand.
But, it's them.
What's being packaged up with these human remains getting sent halfway around the world?
Don't ask me why.
Don't ask me why the madman raves.
It's only that this is what's happening.
This plant that burned down.
I did hear about this.
Do you know anything about that?
Because there were human remains found there as well.
Well, I shouldn't be surprised about that.
Like in boxes?
Terrible shape.
Oh no, it was quite an ugly scene.
Bodies tied up.
Talking about the people who killed us.
Well, there was only one person that was killed.
He's saying there's multiple people that were found?
Well we left them all dead.
We left them here to burn alive.
We were told by Troy, our trusted keeper,
that that building was separate
of the building we were lighting on fire.
We don't know anything about that.
This is not a game
for amateurs.
Half of what you say is true, you may be in great danger.
You all look worse for the wear.
We already are in great danger. Why do you think we're coming to talk to you?
Then you should go back to your homes before someone gets truly injured or killed.
I got no home that's safe to go back to, Barrington.
They come and they flipped my my partner night
Did I and Zara Shafik are after us
Zara Shafik. Yes, the lady from the spice shop. They're in the woods and they came for us. They're who?
ransacked Desmond's apartment, I'm sure of it
Empire Spice's Serge Afrique.
I didn't know how they were connected myself.
What?
We put eyes on them. Conversion.
Planning.
They're in cahoots then too.
Who?
Talking about us.
We have conspiracy. Murder. Trafficking.
Timeline.
Receipts. Email. Murder. Email. conspiracy, murder, trafficking, Timeline, receipts,
E-mail,
Murder, occult practices,
exploitation of the work and mouth.
All right, all right.
You've done better than I'm giving you credit for.
You should leave this to the professionals.
I don't want to have to chase you around England again,
or be the one at the scene
identifying your corpses
Troy
Do you remember when we first met him? Do we do like an intuition roll on him or?
Psychology or type situations. I feel like you did. Yeah, I think we did
I think the impression was he was on the up-and-up. Okay. All right. Yeah, he was he did and I think he seemed fine. Right. My impression was he was on the up and up. Okay, all right.
Yeah, he was upset about his former partner, the one that was handling the case, went missing.
Oh, went missing, right.
Presumed dead or something.
And so he was upset about that.
He liked that guy.
And what was he, and that guy disappeared because what was the specific thing that he
was?
He was investigating the Egyptian murders and disappeared.
And so Barrington took over and so now it's like personal for him because he was close
with that guy.
I think his name was Inspector Gregory Munson.
He's also at his wit's end, which is why he even took a meeting with you in the first
place because you mentioned you knew Jackson Elias and Jackson seemed to be interested in that.
But he also, he's reiterating in a way what he said there, is like, leave this to the
professionals.
Right.
Well, Barrington, one other thing we did forget to say to you is the Blue Pyramid Club.
You want to talk about these Egyptian murders?
Blue Pyramid Club, there was a waitress there that was freaking out saying that a truck was coming
and taking people from the Blue Pyramid Club
and potentially to their deaths.
Taking people from, what was this woman's name?
Waitress McGee.
I believe. It was.
Not French, sounds French.
Not culturally appropriate, I think.
Did she have a name tag on it? I believe it was Yalasha. I don't know, let me see if we had a. Yalasha Assam. It's Y. French letter. That's culturally appropriate, I think. Did she have a name tag on it?
I believe it was Yalisha.
I don't know, let me see if we had a-
It's Yalisha Assam.
Yalisha Assam, I got a chance to look over the notes of-
Yalisha Assam.
Oh, you actually looked over Vaughn's notes.
All right, all right.
Baylor, you are in deeply to this.
Nora, it looks like you're in deeply to this.
Nora, it looks like you're in the middle of a fire. Like a fire.
It's fading out like Marty McFly.
Yeah, the whole monster is attacking Nora.
There we go.
There's just so much sunlight coming in.
Oh, it's just hitting the lens.
It's just hitting.
It's hitting.
So Joe went up on the window and I think turned the...
Turned one of the, oh my god. It looks super cool cool. There was hello. You're getting that JJ Abrams lens
There you go, if I just hold this
You're so luminous
Feel like we're fishbowl. I
apologize for surprising you I just
Needed to make sure everything was on the up and up.
I fear for you, but I will look into these things. Yes, it seems like you are on to something.
I will follow up.
We appreciate that. You know, maybe defer to some of these resources you have, tailing us
to tailing the bad guys.
You need to look at that dark Barrington. That ship is shipping out soon.
Yeah.
Yes. And you said you someone broke in.
Yeah. Did you say that?
We have a copy.
And they threw up everywhere.
Spommet everywhere?
Yes.
What are you? So you it's not safe to say here, yes?
Where will you go?
Why don't we keep that between the four of us and we can contact you as needed?
Maybe we could set up a thing where you can leave a note under a brick somewhere if you need us
We can't trust anybody right now. You got it.
If we find a place we will call you. We haven't figured that out yet.
You can always leave a message at the scoop
Yeah, you need to actually find a good doctor. We haven't found a good doctor over here. Yes
Yeah, do you any doctors you trust in our network? There's a hospital not too far from it. They don't always have good doctors
Only the best here. What if we go to the same place when we drop that shippley off?
None What if we go to the same place when we drop that shipply off? None
They're all trained like sanatorium. Yeah. Well, um
Again, I apologize for surprising you like this. I didn't mean to
cause a stir but I
Had a sense that you were on to something
That we are Barrington
But we're not only on to something, something's on to us.
If we don't stop this thing, what's in motion right now, it's already tried to kill us once.
I have no doubt it is going to try to come back to finish the job.
Again, Barrington, this is Dez. He's great. We love him. He's a great intern.
Well, good luck to you. I've said my piece. I hope to see you again.
Yeah, maybe we'll go see a sporting event together.
Barrington lives.
A sporting event, sir! Forget it. Fuck it. From now on, whenever we're outside,
I feel like maybe all of us are looking over our shoulders,
like seeing it from being followed.
Because now not only have Gavigan
apparently been following us and has tabs on us,
but Gavigan has been, and we had no clue.
We should get disguises.
Barrington, yeah.
Yes.
We should get disguises.
Ooh.
Wait a minute. Well, that's part of the leather jacket. Yes. Going to go as a rockabilly from 25 years from now.
All right, so you go into the scoop.
Well, you don't have to go to the scoop anymore.
You don't need to make a phone call.
Barrington was right.
To the hospital.
So you go off to the hospital.
It's convenient.
Find a competent doctor.
We'll attempt to heal you.
First on Carter, success. That's convenient. Find a competent doctor. Woof. To attempt to heal you.
First on Carter, success.
Oh my God.
Second on Desmond, another success.
Yeah.
So roll one D3 hit points, that's what you will get back.
Plus 10.
That's brutal.
One, two, three plus 10.
Brutal.
That could be one.
Yes.
I got one baby.
I got one too.
Fuck.
Did you all take your one back as well
for spent sleeping?
Yes sir, yes sir.
Are we all together still?
I guess so.
Cause if I'm here, I'm gonna seek some treatment too.
Sure.
Fuck it. Oh, sorry the too. Sure. Fuck it.
Oh, sorry the doctor just left.
Damn it.
He only handles two patients a day.
He went to leave and accidentally opened the window
and walked out of it.
Damn it.
This guy hasn't quite finished medical school,
but he'll try to preach you.
I raid the medicine cabinet.
He succeeds, he succeeds as well.
I'm sorry, so what do I roll for that? I've been rolling well for three days straight. 1D3.
1D3. Across many shows I've been rolling very well. Oh, I have three points.
Nice. The rich get Richard. Heck yes. Okay. Who's Richard? Who's the rich get Richard?
Get out of my head, son of a bitch. All right, so you've made contact with Barrington.
Barrington made contact with you.
Great.
Has been following you evidently ever since you left Scotland Yard, lost your trail perhaps
when you went to Lesser Edale, but found you again.
You vomit all this information and hope that he follows up.
Maybe you will get in touch with him should you get more
information.
Or maybe you seek his help in this situation as opposed to or in addition to the order
through Pharaoh's father.
Those are your options. You're a little healed up. Saturday, almost afternoon, grab a bite
to eat. What's going on today?
We're hitting a new hotel.
Yes, we do need to find a new hotel.
We don't have to do all that, but that's happening.
A potential, most likely a phone call to make at some time.
I don't know what the time difference to dear old dad.
Dear old dad.
We're like six or seven hours ahead.
I don't know if there's any like between the Penhew Foundation, between Zara Shafik's
by shop, if we want to go during the daytime probably makes more sense at night, do you think?
Should I break in there and see what's what?
Yeah, so that's the option.
I like that.
There was security at Penhew even during the day, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I really want to go in there and just beat the shit out of them.
Yeah, when Vaughn and Faeruz peeked in the window, all we saw was that there was a young man
working there, but there was also a bed. Like there's someone staying there. Yeah, when Vaughn and Faerûs peeked in the window, all we saw was that there was a young man working there, but there was also a bed.
Like, there's someone staying there.
Yeah, it seems.
In the Empire Spices, there was that back room that looked like those living quarters.
What if we try to corner that kid?
Yeah, maybe trick him down for information.
We could do that. And then I just know for Faberuze that before now on Tuesday, she's going to go
find, she's going to track down Emil L. at that address.
Oh, yeah.
But that's not in the immediate.
I'm not going to, I'm going to stay in a bed for the next three days.
Adjust to you.
But we have so much fun when we break in and answer and you open all the locks.
We need to heal up so that we could do our B&E.
Yeah, it's tricky.
You are all, everyone knows where you are.
You're like impossible.
You can't hide in London.
Everyone seems to keep finding you.
We blend right in.
I don't understand.
You're beaten, you're battered.
Starting to regret those business cards, to be honest.
Maybe that's what's in my mind.
Doubt the business cards.
Carter pulls one out, it's got his own blood all over it.
It blocked a bullet.
How did that knife not go through me?
Oh my god.
We told you that card stock was amazing.
Alright, so if you're thinking-
And I want my leathery goddamn jacket.
Alright, you get your jacket.
You get your jacket.
Yeah, I'm going to this.
You look so cool.
Well, let's break it up a little bit here.
Are you guys all traveling to get the leather jacket?
Are you splitting up?
I do want a big leather jacket that we all wear.
I do want to get a sense here.
Like you all went to the hospital together and now you're outside the hospital.
Carter wants to go get a leather jacket.
Faeruz, maybe you want to go see Emil.
You don't have to.
You can do that some other time.
Is everyone doing their own thing?
And then if you're going to do a B&E tonight, is everyone going to one place or two and
two splitting up?
I would like to know where it fairs needs to be at that Penthue since she missed it
last time.
Like I think she really wants to be there.
So I'm thinking like, yeah, reconvene
like in the evening somewhere, wherever our new quarters are.
Okay.
All right, so maybe you have the day to yourself.
Got a free day here.
Oh, this is gonna be restorative.
This might all result in another hit point.
Just as, you know, a me day.
Choose choose an activity you'd like to do. Or say you don't want
to do it.
I think we're killing time. Faeruz will go scope out Emile's
place. And if anybody wants to join her, that's cool. But if
you don't, that's also cool.
Okay, cool.
I feel like the only thing Margo would want to do right now
alone is either go get film developed or go get tools to do it herself. Or like go also get some
something to disguise. Yeah, I could use a wig or something like something different.
disguise. Yeah, I could use a wig or something like something different.
Oh, and she's got like blonde hair.
Yeah, I mean, it wouldn't be the worst idea to change your appearances.
Yeah. Okay.
He's not a problem for me.
And Desmond?
Gosh, yeah. People are going out of their way to change their appearances.
Because he just doesn't have the resources.
But you're also the new guy.
But he's, I mean, I feel like he's, he's like just unshaven, having been with the Mystery Squad for a while.
So he's got his little...
perma-scruff now.
His shock of curly hair standing up even bristlier than normal. And he might just, I mean, might just be as simple as like exchanging his flat cap for a nice,
or his like little peaked cap for a trilby or something. So he can pop his collar and
look a little bit more anonymous.
I like it. Trilby or something. So he can pop his collar and look a little bit more anonymous.
I like it. And he might actually just kind of linger outside where the Blue Pyramid Club is,
seeing if anybody suspicious is wandering around and just kind of case it for the day.
Oh, I like this. All right, so.
And I'm sorry, Noor, you mentioned something about going and getting wire, going to get
money from like the lawyer.
Is there like an office or a PO box where they are communicating with us in London?
Yeah, you could probably have told them up when you sent the telegram, you said send
it to this place.
So yeah.
Great.
Good to know.
All right.
So this is how this is going to go down.
You see Ferus in a cap.
Pull up outside a modest home in the suburbs of London. We see Margot shopping for disguises. We see Desmond roll
up to the Blue Pyramid Club, maybe across the street, smoking a cigarette, just watching for anything
untoward.
And we see Carter Tillinghast walking out of a boutique with a cool leather jacket.
It's black and it's double-breasted so that it'll help me for sneaking, but also look
gentlemanly. As you get out of the store, a voice calls up to you.
Pardon me, Mr. Tillinghast.
And you turn and you see this large, like, bronze-skinned man.
And he's standing near a car. And the car car doors open and you see several other men inside and in fact on the other side of the car is another man
Looks very similar to him
Standing there with sunglasses on

And don't forget your towel.
All right, we're back.
All right, we're back. One of the beauties of this game is when, and we've said this before, is like when people
split up.
You can't really do it in D&D and Pathfinder.
It never ends well.
Some of the best moments we've had on this series have been like when it's two and two.
It's maybe the first time you've all kind of gone,
not unlike the famous Journey song,
your separate ways.
So the last thing we saw was this car pull up
full of big looking dudes asking Carter to join them.
We're gonna open this with Margo.
Margo, what are you looking at in this store?
Well, she knows that Faeruz has requested specifically a blonde wig.
Looking for like maybe another hat, clothing items.
I can't remember, what's your character's name again? I can't remember.
Ross.
Fabrous?
Your name is Desmond?
No, no, no, no, no.
I just forgot.
He's like a brother to you.
For the other guy with us.
I almost died in your arms.
Oh, Desmond.
Desmond, I wanted to say Donovan.
His name is Desmond Patrick Mahoney. I wanted to say Donovan. His name is Desmond Patrick Mahoney.
I wanted to say Donovan, I'm like, I know that's not right.
And that's all that's not right right now.
That's good too.
Also good.
And Donovan's a good name.
An Irish singer, no?
For herself, maybe like, I don't know, glasses,
like something, a sex arena like put on.
Clown nose.
A request was from,
What?
A request from Farouz was,
whatever makes her look less exotic.
Oh, you're right, of course.
So this long wig that is perfect.
And for Carter, just something for his face.
Something for his face.
Struggling.
A little rouge for his mask.
All right, so we just kind of pan in to see you
at these shelves, picking up a wig, putting
it back, picking up glasses, is this what you want?
And as you're looking at this stuff you hear a voice that you instantly recognize.
Mago?
It's Gunther.
Hey!
Mago! Margo?
It's Gunder. Hey!
Margo! Margo, what are you doing here?
What are you doing here?
I must confess, you had mentioned that you were coming to England and I thought I would, it wasn't not, I was not following you,
I just, I thought it would be fun for me
to take a vacation as well and so I've come to London
and here I am and here you are.
What are you doing, you're all alone.
And she like just pauses and stares at him and after he says like,
Oh, I was not following you. She's just like,
No, you weren't. You weren't following me. Are you sure?
And he ignores your questions. He's like, are you, are you okay? You, you look hurt.
I am not hurt.
And he like goes to grab your hands. Look, you have scrapes here.
Scrapes on your arm.
Are you okay?
I am fine.
I am doing great.
Never better.
If you try to pull your hands away, he holds them firm.
Marco...
You are no good to us dead. Us who? What are you talking about?
And he lifts his sleeve up ever so gently.
And you see the next level can be opened to
you, but only if you do as you were instructed.
Oh, okay.
She has a lot of questions now.
Yes. Her brain is just like spinning. Maybe you can see it in her eyes. Oh, okay. She has a lot of questions now.
Yes.
Her brain is just like spinning,
maybe you can see it in her eyes.
You are still not well from your situation in New York,
I can tell.
Let me make it painfully clear to you.
You know how important Miss Gibran is to us, yes?
That is why we had you go to Peru.
That is why we said nothing when you joined back up in New York.
And that is why we were very happy to have you come with her to England
however, he squeezes
Should something happen to her on your watch the least of your problems would be
Getting hurt
She must be kept safe if you want to make it to the next level.
I understand.
She snapped her hand back.
I'm sorry. Just so excited to see you.
It's been so long, Margo.
Never been so excited to see you, either.
So sorry.
I know that we have always had our ups and downs,
but some things are bigger than you and I.
I guess so, and that's disappoints me.
Yes.
Real.
I'll be seeing you.
I guess so.
He turns and leaves. And we come to Feroz knocking on a door.
So the door opens and you see a young man, maybe older than you though, by a few years,
strikingly handsome mixed descent maybe
and he just looks at you may I have you. I'm looking for a Mr. Emile Lydell. Does he live here?
My father? No, he's no longer, sadly no longer with us.
sadly no longer with us.
Oh.
And you see like a look of like defeat kind of sweep over Feyruz's face.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you.
How long ago did he pass?
Um...
About six, seven years ago.
Why, may I ask, were you interested in speaking with him?
Well, I don't wish to come here and intrude upon your life in any way, but it's it's rather
important to me. Um
May I come in?
Are you with them?
With who?
I stopped. I stopped looking. I promise you. I promise you please.
Please let me. please let me finish.
Please.
I'm not with anyone, I'm not with anyone.
I can assure you.
Please, I'm just trying to find some answers
as you see, my mother has passed away quite some time ago.
And she knew your father and she brings out this, her diary.
She mentions, she mentions your father in here
and I'm just trying to find some answers
if you wouldn't mind.
You're like looks past you.
Come in, come in quickly.
I'm sorry, I didn't get your name.
My name is Mikhail.
Please sit down.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to frighten you.
I never met my mother. She passed shortly after I was born.
Not quite sure where to begin. This is all coming as a shock, and I don't know if I should even be
speaking with you in case.
Who has been troubling you?
Where do I begin?
My father was a good man, a great man, and he raised me to be the best that I can be.
But his later years were troublesome for him.
He started to lose his his mind, his senses. He would not remember me from time to time. He knew that I was his caretaker, that I belonged
to him in some way, but sometimes forget my name and whatnot. But then from time to time, he would say things that would contradict a
lot of the things that he told me. When I was young, I ignored most of it as the ramblings of a
degenerative consciousness. But one night, he said something that struck me that I must never look
for my mother.
struck me that I must never look for my mother.
That's very strange that you say that,
Mikael.
I said, Father, what do you mean?
For my mother, mother passed when I was a baby.
And he just kept repeating it over and over again. You must never look for her.
You're grabbing at my shirt.
And sometimes he would look at me
and think I was the postman.
But he was very clear and very deliberate
in the way that he said these things,
so much so that I never forgot about it.
And so I, probably against my better judgment,
I pressed him on it.
I said, she passed, father, she passed.
Your just, your memories are clouded.
And he said, no, no, no, he just kept, he clouded and he said no, he no no
He just kept he kept shaking
He said he looked so afraid and he rambled about things that I never heard come from his lips. He told me that
He told me that after I was born a group came in the night to take her from the hospital and
That I was left behind
And that he tried to find her,
but he was threatened that if he inquired any further
that they would take me as well and perhaps even kill him.
And so that was what I was left with.
Did you ever see any photographs of her?
Yes. As a matter of fact, I did. I tried everything to find her.
And Theruss opens up her journal and takes out this like a photograph of her mom from like her school days. Or is this her?
She just grabs it.
She's like, yes.
This is the woman from the photograph.
This is my mother.
Mikael, this is my mother.
And we cut to Carter. No, you can just, I know it's a cool jacket.
There's more of them in the store.
So help yourself.
I think they were 20 quid, whatever the fuck that means.
Mr. Tillinghouse, you're quite charming.
Now we're all set with jackets.
We just need you to come with us very shortly.
I assure you, you are quite safe.
But time is of the essence.
Listen, Mac, I've been invited into many cars in my day and it's never a good,
never a good sign when you've got what?
One, two, three. I can't even count.
You got a handful of bruises here.
Car door opens. another one steps out.
Oh, okay.
Please, still telling us.
Troy, can I do an intuition?
Why do I keep calling it intuition?
Jesus Christ. Psychology?
Yeah.
I want to roll a C.
Are these men going to kill me?
I want to roll a CD. Are these men going to kill me?
That's a pretty simple
Thing to want to know about somebody when you first meet them roll for stranger danger. Yeah
What did I say I was gonna do these fucking dice? Burn them?
So I rolled a 99
And what is your psychology?
It's a 50
It's a 50, okay
So at a 50 only a hundred is a fumbum
Okay
That is a failure and it seems like an undue show of force for one person.
They are smiling, but you do see a bit of a bulge on one of their waistbands.
There may be a handgun there.
In fact, the one that just stepped out of the car, maybe pushed his jacket back as he's
coming around the car kind
of give me the vibe like is there is this gonna be a problem right well y'all
seem like upstanding guys I could use some some good conversation let's let's
go get in the car oh real quick do it does it the car isn't one that I recognize
From I know one of the cars we know was
Rented to or was the Penn Hugh Foundation car
This doesn't jump out to you as the one from lesser Edale or the one outside Empire spices
And also you're so yeah, maybe as this is happening you look down a license plate car does it ring a bell?
No, they all kind of look the same to you and you get wedged in between
these two
big dudes. Okay. Two guys in the front
and the car takes off.
Now we cut to Desmond sitting there watching Blue Pyramid Club on his seventh or eighth smoke.
Maybe-
Heisman is not a smoker like Vaughn is a smoker.
This is too much for him.
That's too close.
Dude, it's a girth.
All right, you're on your seventh or eighth diet coke.
Mm-mm.
And you're just watching.
I would say you're watching to the point now
where you think like, what am I doing?
Maybe I should just head back early, get some rest, hit some rendezvous.
As a car pulls up and you watch as four men get out of the car and a fifth man that's sort of being ushered up to the locked gate.
Carter?
Look at that jaunty leather jacket.
Almost didn't recognize him.
Distracted me from the mask so much I didn't know him for a moment.
Telling us.
Really got me.
That devil.
You watched as they unlock the gates, escort Carter through, turn around, relock the gates.
Alright hands off the merchandise man, it's a new jack!
Actually you wouldn't know because it was Vaughn that was there, that like the club doesn't open up till night,
but you knew that you were just watching anything weird
and sure enough, something weird.
Door gets locked up, they bring him up the stairs.
What if anything do you do here?
I think, I immediately probably, especially if I hear him be like, hey, don't touch the merchandise.
Lots of sound of distress thought I'd say.
And I will pop my collar, lower my hat and sort of jog across the street.
I can see him. Move through the mist and just kind of try to clandestinely peek through the gate.
See if I can follow them up there. There's a way around, in, through.
Okay. Give me a spot hidden here to see if like there's a locked gate.
And then you'd have to pick that and then maybe they'd hear you maybe not
that's a failure but it's it's clearable I'm gonna I'm gonna spend the luck to
make that a regular success it'll take it'll take 15 points but I'll do it all
right so you're looking around you're like fuck if I go maybe I can pick that
lock on no-cut or tilling ass but maybe I can pick that lock. I'm no Carter Tilling ass, but maybe I can.
And I've got to deal with the light. When I go in the front door,
and then you spot a very small opening to the side,
like a service entry, like wherever they bring in liquor
and food, and it's very easily scalable.
It leads to like a side alley.
So I'll just kind of look around.
I've got to confirm that I'm not being observed and sort of like hands in pockets.
Slide over there.
And then try to climb it and launch myself inside.
Okay. I'm going to have you roll.
I'm going to have you just make this climb.
It's an easy climb.
Yep.
You hop over there.
Go ahead.
Get some cover in the alleyway
and there's a side door
and then there's a fire escape.
They were taking him up.
They were taking him up.
So, if I might... if it's accessible to me, I'll get on that fire escape.
I just have to ask, I think there's a jump skill, right?
Why not roll some dice?
That's the kind of thing that people put points in, right?
There sure is a jump skill.
I feel like Vaughn had a fire escape jump test. I mean he
and he very so one guy's going down fire escapes this guy's going up fire escape.
Keep in mind a failure on this doesn't mean you don't make the jump.
Right. Just means that we might have an interesting story mode. There might be some consequences. Here we go.
You'd never believe it but that's a failure. 59 over 20. 59 over 20, okay. So here's what happens.
You kind of like take a step back and jump
and you grab it and it just goes,
cling, cling, cling, cling, cling, cling.
Kind of echoes throughout the alleyway, but you're on.
Pull yourself up.
Yeah.
And you're on the fire escape.
I, my holding my hat, I crane my head up to see if I see any windows popping open or anyone
having noticed me here.
All right.
So you kind of, there's like two floors and then there's the roof.
So at the first floor, all the windows are like clouded out.
You kind of look in, maybe that's the
club level. You continue up and there is a window. It's like cracked open. It's one of
those windows that opens like on an angle. It's cracked open and you can hear sounds.
And I will kind of sidle up next to it so that my ear is right next to the point at
which the ear, the window tilts open.
And as I listen, I will reach into my coat and remove the billy club that I took off
of the security guard in Darby.
Chekhov's billy club. security guard in Derby. Jackoff's Billy Club. You cozy up to the window, listen with your ear, Billy Club out.
We cut back to Carter.
Carter, they escort you up and inside the Blue Pyramid Club.
You heard Vaughn and Fay Rouse talk about it, but there's no one here now.
The club's completely empty and dark.
Maybe there's a bar back like Cotton Lemons but they bring you straight past
that to a little staircase behind a curtain in the back of the club like
where the offices would be and then take you up another smaller staircase to a
third floor and
Bring you into a room and this is the sound you hear Vaughn of a door opening and people coming in
Carter You see there's two seats
Sort of facing each other
And the men say sorry, it's just a formality and they start frisking you. Do they find any weapons on your person?
I mean, if we were moving.
Locations and we're in the midst of all that, then yeah, I feel like I had the gun that I had.
My sweet knives.
They pull all these out.
So sorry, don't worry.
This is just a formality.
I mean, could we have done this in like a cafe or a bar or something?
Why have we got to come in here?
At the very least, let's go to the VIP section.
This is ridiculous.
Just wait here, Mr. Dillinghast.
Okay, well, that seems like I've got a choice, so great.
And they walk out and shut the door.
The gunk.
You hear the sound, Desmond?
The door shutting.
I peer, I kind of give my eye over the sill and look in and I see Carter alone in the
room.
Yes.
I go up to the door and just like try to open it.
I'm assuming it doesn't work.
Psst.
Mom?
Did you say mom?
Yeah.
You see it's a runner Troy. Mom? Mom? Mom?
You see it's a runner.
This is what we call the rule of threes.
It was the third one, that's why it was awesome.
Sorry.
It really got me.
Oh god.
It's not your being mother till an ass. Turn around.
The fuck are you? Are you flying?
Shh.
I'm right out here. How's it that's got you up here man? Oh
My god, okay. All right. Hey listen
Play it. Play it cool. They don't know I'm out here. I don't know how else to play it motherfucker. Yeah, I'm gonna play it cool
but listen, I
Think we just chill for a second like
They've taken my weapons and stuff, but they're saying it's, they're like, kind of apologizing and things like that.
Like, this might be a way to find something out.
Well, you get them talking, old boy. Then, if things go sideways, I'll be the one kicking down the window.
Great. And then I wanna, I'm assuming I open the window to talk to him, so it's like, I just wanna make sure it's unlocked.
It's cracked. You're just kinda like, talking there, but you're also imagine watching her or making sure yeah
Yeah, I want to make sure the windows unlocked in case he has to and like sure enough. Yeah, it's it's unlocked
You could just pop it open and jump right in and as you're talking you hear
The sound of approaching non get him talking steps, of course, it's gonna be great
The door opens.
I set out on the chair real quick.
Both of you see this absolutely stunning Egyptian woman walk in.
Carter, you've already met her.
It's Zara Shafik.
I have a creeping sensation of something reptilian moving up the back of my neck when I see her.
Right.
Oh.
She looks exactly like Leia Pryder.
You immediately think that.
It takes you right back to that moment in the British exhibition.
Carter is as frightened as you may be in this moment.
You can't help but just be blown away by her beauty. She's stunning the way she walks into the room.
I said, cool. Telling us, cool.
I've seen her before.
Oh, madam.
What a shock.
I was just going to come by your shop again to get more spices for my fledgling
spicery
Reuben store. Yes, how is that?
Spice it up. Spice it up?
Yes, how is that coming along?
Well more slowly now that I'm here obviously I should be on the phone talking to investors as we speak.
But I decided to take a little break.
Come on in here, have my weapons forcibly taken from me in order to chit chat.
Have you found everything you were looking for here in England, Mr. Dilling has?
The weather could be better.
Had some rollicking adventures in the countryside. Lesser Edale, check it out. Yeah, I mean, I think we've got a lot of good stuff for
the menu. She crosses the room and sits down opposite you in the chair. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be coy with you.
And I apologize for the brusqueness
with which I brought you here.
I would have liked to have brought all your associates,
but one can never be too careful these days.
Yeah.
Well, this is a great chat. I think I'll just go
Just a moment if you would I took great pains to bring you here, and I assure you you are safe
This was as much for your safety as it was mine. Oh
I don't know
What it is you are after? Mr. Tillinghast,
but I think I may be able to help you.
While you and your friends were right to be suspicious of me,
I can assure you that I am not the problem that you seek.
One of the most difficult things that I had to do in my life was leave my country, my family, and my people behind.
But I did so in the hopes of having a better life here in England. I wanted to start a business and I did
start a business and it has afforded me the life that I have now and I have tried to use what meager
wealth that I've accumulated in my connections to do good for my people both at home and here in England, because no one looks after us here.
But there are others who posture,
who pretend to know about my culture,
who pretend to do good for my people,
who believe they know about the soul of the Egyptian people,
but we are just playthings to them.
Edward Gavigan is one such man.
I've heard of him.
There is a group here in England
known as the Brotherhood of the Pharaoh.
This is an old group that I guess has been revitalized, changed. And when I came over
from Egypt, I wanted to connect with other Egyptians living here. So I was brought into the
group. And I tell you this, it gave me life. It reminded me of home. It allowed me to connect with people both emotionally and spiritually.
There were religious undertones and I needed that. I needed that when I was younger. I needed that
when I felt alone here in Egypt. But soon I realized there was more going on.
Gavigan and his obsession with my culture
led him to taking over this group
and thwarting its original mission.
This man, he believes things, dangerous things,
and those beliefs have led to dangerous dealings,
Mr. Tillinghast, murders, murders of my people.
For anyone who opposes him is hunted down and killed. All these murders, these Egyptian murders, they are his doing.
His and everyone that is loyal to his cause. And it's not just Egyptians Mr. Tilling has.
It's anyone who stands in his way. Others have been taken and will be sacrificed
in honor of his insane dreams.
I brought you here today, Mr. Tillinghast,
because I know you and your friends
are trying to stop what this man is doing.
Yeah.
I have played my part for as long as I can,
but I can no longer be an unwilling accomplice
in his machinations.
My standing in the Brotherhood has given me knowledge, and that has led me to you. Now
I wish to lead you to him, so that together we may end him and end his reign.
Wow. This. This is a bit of a mindfuck. I'm not going to lie. Because I don't know if you know
this, some people think that you're behind these trucks that are showing up to this place and carting
people away. Not me. But there's other people out there that believe this.
But there's other people out there that believe this. I understand.
And this is why I chose to come to you before you
were led down the wrong path.
I do play a part in this.
But this is not my goal.
I want to restore my culture and take this brotherhood back
and use it for good, for the good of my people,
restore Egyptian culture here in England, do things back home, not these horrible things that Gavigan is doing.
But in order for that to be done, he must go.
And we cannot go to the police. I have considered these things.
But Gavigan is a man of means. He has his claws in every institution here in England and beyond.
Should we do that, someone would
tip off someone he knows. I need help, and it has to come from people like you.
Well, how can I be sure that you're even on the up and up? How can I trust you?
You cannot. But I have left myself alone.
If you thought that I was evil, you could certainly end me before my bodyguards returned.
I take myself...
That's very flattering of you to say, but I don't know how capable I am.
I do appreciate that, though.
Uh...
Okay.
Well, you were right to pick out the leader of the Mystery Squad.
Um, can I do, I know this is my third time, can I do a psychology?
I just want to double check.
Yeah, sure.
Let's try.
And Desmond, listening on the fire escape, would like to do the same thing.
Okay.
Pick the temperature of this speech.
Yeah.
Because he heard them collaborating.
Exactly. You heard her, I think, if it was her there,
you heard her say, like,
we don't know though, right?
She's all wrapped up.
Do I need to take care of this?
Oh right, it was, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Or do you?
It was just, we assumed.
I mean, Troy did say at the beginning of the session,
he's like, what you thought was Zara Shafik was there,
he dropped a little something, something.
Also, I rolled a fucking 98.
So, I, all right get that
I'm spending five more points of luck. The luck is pouring like water through a sieve, but
This gets me to a regular success
Okay, and on a psychology role overhearing her speech
She sounds sincere. All right, and I guess with that, maybe Desmond is questioning his own memory and like, I suppose that her
and the...
Well, yeah, and I was going to sort of get there.
Yeah, but yeah, that's just where I'm at.
Yeah.
Did you meet up with Gavigan recently?
I did yes
At the the Festival of Women in the in the year in the England
Whatever the fuck is shopping mall. Did you follow us of the stars? Did you follow us there?
Listen you picked out the best Did you follow us? Of the stars? Did you follow us there? Exposition. Listen.
Exposition.
He picked out the best.
Yes, I did.
He was aware of you.
I was made aware of you as well.
He trusts me, I think.
I play the part well enough, though I do not engage in the things he engages in.
Well, I mean it sounded like from what I heard
he feels like he's answering to you. Are you, do you have some sort of status on him in this brotherhood?
Only in that I am
from Egypt.
He is a
Pretender.
But everyone looks to him as the leader that said I have
people in the brotherhood that are loyal to me.
Women mostly, and those men who brought you here today.
I have found Egyptian women are more open
to understanding my situation.
And they...they want to help.
They want what I want.
Okay. What is he doing with these people?
He's sacrificing them?
Yes.
There is a part of the Order, the Brotherhood rather.
I was thinking of the other thing.
Sorry, did I say Order?
I don't know about it.
There's too many secrets inside.
Just to keep straight, I get it.
The Brotherhood conducts several rituals from time to time.
Mostly lesser rituals where Edward will try and commune with
beings from beyond.
He's bastardized everything that my culture holds dear.
But on the night of the full moon,
every month is a grand ritual.
And at the grand ritual,
everyone comes.
And people are sacrificed
in honor of these gods that he sees.
His prisoners, people he's taken, people he's found, his enemies,
anyone he can get his hands on. Their blood is spilled in honor of his insanity.
So this Tuesday evening, on the night of the full moon, there is one of these
gatherings and they take place at his country-state estate
oh you know what that is yes i will be present at the ritual i'm present at all of them i've
seen horrible things i'm ashamed um
outside of london there is an area known as Nez, and in the wilds beyond the farmlands,
there is an island upon which this estate sits.
It is called Miser House.
And you immediately think back to that little picture on his desk, but I think Margot picked up
just a picture of a country estate.
It's called Miser House.
It is the site of these rites.
It's also the site of Gavigan's many secrets. He has outfitted that mansion in ways that even I am not privy to.
There are secret rooms, dungeons in which the prisoners are kept.
We've seen a dungeon or two at this point.
All manner of horrible things lie within that estate.
But the ritual takes place at a stelae outside of the grounds.
How many people does Gavigan have working for him?
How many people usually are there?
In the Brotherhood there is at any point 50 to 60 members.
Shit! However, at the height of these rituals, they are all very distracted by what is going on.
And this is when it would be wise to strike.
I will give you directions to Mesa House.
And I will
set up some sort of
warning, some sort of timing.
Go about the house.
There will be no one there.
Even the servants are part of this cult.
They will be taking part in the ritual as well.
Do what you will in that house.
And then at a time that we will designate, come and we will take him out.
I will usurp control and they will fall in line.
Well I gotta ask you, I mean I'd be stupid if... If I didn't ask you this I'd be
crazy. I mean, you get control of this thing. Do you believe in this stuff? Have
you, have you... I mean, I could tell you I've seen some shit lately and do you are you aware of all this otherworldly?
Who ha I am aware of it as much as Gavigan has tried to
Preach its significance it has never entered my heart as I said I played the part well, but
It's not it's not why I did this.
When I take control of the Brotherhood, it will be a sisterhood.
It will be dedicated to my culture and my people and its preservation.
And we will do good for my people back home. We won't just steal from the tombs,
grave rob to hang things in a museum.
We will give back to the community.
Well, I can tell you as a straight white guy
from New England, I know what it's like
to be under the thumb of other people.
Do you know what I mean?
So you understand.
I understand exactly what you're talking about. I understand the plight of other people, do you know what I mean? So you understand. I understand exactly what you're talking about.
I understand the plight of all women,
even foreign women like you.
I, yeah, I'm writing a, I am writing a book
and there was gonna be a whole chapter
about how, about fucking women and shit.
The sound of Desmond's eye roll is audible from the fire escape pad.
What was that sound?
Wind?
If I didn't think women were so awesome,
I wouldn't crane my neck whenever an attractive one walked by.
It's my way of showing respect, anyway.
I see.
And before, and I know what you're thinking,
and I just want to get this,
let's just clear the air right now.
My heart does belong to another. Before, and I know what you're thinking, and I just wanna get this, let's just clear the air right now.
My heart does belong to another.
So, whatever you're thinking is happening here,
chemistry-wise, it's all business.
I just wanna get that out of the way.
I wouldn't feel right if I didn't say that up front.
Now. Desmond hears that and is like,
who the, wait.
Carter has forgotten that Desmond was there. Uh...
Anyway.
I can see that you are...
uncertain.
Perhaps I can offer something else.
Hmm. Well, again, like I said, this is platonic, but go ahead.
I... I hesitate to say this as you asked me if I believe in all of this occult nonsense. In my dealings with him and as the Brotherhood has grown in power, I have learned certain things,
certain skills beyond mortal comprehension.
If you help me, your face, Mr. Tilly has.
I could restore it.
I don't mean to offend or overstep my bounds, but I imagine this is not a scar that you bear,
just bravery.
I imagine if given the chance to change your circumstances,
you would take that.
I can offer that to you.
I, uh... I will get that to you. I, uh... I will get back to you on that.
Um... Listen.
You see him on the up and up. Um...
You should know if you don't already what Gavigan's...
You know, you're aware of what he's got in the basement of the
Pentahue Foundation. I've been down there. He's got books, he's got and boxes if we help you would any of that stuff would you need any of that
stuff would that increase our shot I mean if there is stuff there that
belongs to mother Egypt and I would love to regain it so that I may return it home.
Yes, yes, I would be interested in that, but I'm sure you have your reasons for being here
as well, so I want to make sure that you have what you need.
I guess I should ask, why are all of you so interested in this?
Well, I mean,
I never thought I'd say anything like this, but I think it's because we want
to set things right. We want to make sure
you know, we're discovering more and more that
evil is in places we never would expect.
We've discovered that people are suffering because of these old rites and these old religions
and it's just not something we can stand to watch.
We want to make things better.
I don't...
Ugh.
Yes, we want the same things.
Mr. Tilling-Ass.
Well, look, you've trusted all this with me
and I feel like wouldn't it be the worst idea
to trust something to you?
And then he just goes, Des.
Des, open the window.
I don't understand.
This is called stun.
Des, it's fine. Come in.
Feeling rather called out.
But um, but yeah, swing it, reveal myself, and step lightly into the room.
If anything, I feel more sure that I have chosen the right group.
If you were able to come here right under my nose. Were you listening to everything?
That I was, Miss Shafiq.
I hope you understand why a rather materialist mind would find it rather hard to believe your tales,
The Teralest Mind would find it rather hard to believe your tales, and even more difficult to believe that you're on the side of the Angels.
I understand.
I know that it is hard to choose a side in a matter such as this, and the lives of people are at stake.
But, those people will die if we do nothing,
and I cannot do it alone.
I think we're in agreement.
I think, Mr. Shafik, that we are.
Where is it you need us to be?
We fade out.
Come back up on...
Behrouz.
Behrouz, this guy just told you that the photo of your mother is his mother. He told you that he always thought his mother died when he was really young, but then his
father, perhaps suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's long before those diseases
had even been categorized,
blurted out that she was taken from the hospital.
Don't follow, don't look for her, don't do anything.
Just seems all too familiar to the stuff
that you were told by your father.
And so he continues on.
It's like after my father passed, I, against his warning, I traveled to Cairo to try and
find hospital records, any traces of her or my birth.
And it's as if we never existed.
Now, the systems there are not as,
as strictly categorized as they are here,
but still there must have been some record
of one of us going in and coming out.
Nothing.
It all seemed too purposeful, like we were just erased.
I was left behind and I came back home
and I just began looking through my father's things
for any sort of memento, anything that I could trace back to her.
I started making phone calls and then one day I received a letter under my door with no address.
No, not signed by anyone, just warning me to stop looking.
Do you still have it? Not signed by anyone just warning me to stop looking
Do you say they knew yes, yes, I do as a matter of fact
And it's always like looking through things like I have it here somewhere
When I received that letter, I guess I was more foolish back then I I felt it like I was closer than ever to finding the truth. Here it is. And he hands you the letter.
It's just like a single sheet of paper.
Just a threat.
First of all, do I recognize the handwriting?
You don't.
Do I recognize it?
See, the thing is, I have been looking
for my entire life
of anything to do with my mother because I was raised without having any information
about her.
This is, and she holds up her diaries,
this is the only thing I have.
This is the only thing I have to her.
And every time I ask about her whereabouts, not whereabouts,
but anything to do with her, anything of what she was like, what she went through, how she
even passed, nobody wants to tell me anything and I've been raised in this bubble.
It's so entirely frustrating, so I hope you know and from the bottom of my heart
I didn't wish anything about her passing.
I don't know anything of her life other than this.
And I want you to know that if there's anybody that is harassing you or if you come into any trouble, please do."
And she like writes her name down and where she can be like the PO box or whatever that
she'd be located at.
Please, please contact me. And I just, I'm so curious to know,
because I have also in my life without,
without getting into it, because I don't want to put you in any sort of danger.
Did your father have any tattoos at all?
My father, no, no, it was forbidden.
I never saw any markings on him whatsoever,
but now that you mention it,
when I was looking through his chest,
trying to find anything that I could trace back to her, I found an address in Massachusetts, in America.
So I traveled there as well, trying to find any trace of her.
And the address, it was an abandoned home, there's nothing there.
I started to call real estate officers,
seeing if I could track down
who the former inhabitants were,
and then one night when I was walking back to my hotel,
I was grabbed by three men with tattoos,
and they threatened to kill me.
They knew everything about me.
They knew about people in my life, and they told me details that they shouldn't have known and they threatened to kill me right there
on that spot night I begged for my life and and it was it was then that they said if that I if I were to
ever to look into this again that they would find me and they would kill me and
When you came today, I assumed it was the Grim Reaper at my door. So I just I beg
you take this information and seal it up within the vault of your heart because my life and
possibly your life is in danger. Our mother was taken for something.
Do you believe that she's still alive?
I don't know.
Are they trying to keep us from finding her?
Or from finding out why she was so important?
I didn't know that you existed.
I barely knew that your father existed, had I not been pouring through her journals
and I didn't know what connection he had to her.
I just. I just can't bear if... I'm so sorry that you're in danger now and without explaining too much because I don't want you to be in any more.
There are things, I believe, surrounding this that have put me and my friends in some danger as well.
I just wanted to know who she was.
I just want to know who I am.
Yes.
And I'm, I feel as though just being here
in the same room with you is a mistake
only because I wouldn't want anything to happen to you.
To be honest, I don't know what to do at this point.
I appreciate the sentiment.
I'm sorry to throw all of this on you.
No, no.
Something I've been living with for a long time.
Believe me, I understand.
He loved her. He loved her dearly.
I always felt as if,
where I've gathered, she was taken against her will.
But why?
That's what I've been trying to find out my whole life.
Not about the taking, but just about her.
And why no one will tell me anything anything and why everything is such a secret
and why every time I feel like I open one door all I get is more questions.
Is your father still alive?
Yes.
Yes, he is.
He must. He must.
He must now.
I'm sure he knows a lot of things and it's...
He is a vault.
That I just can't get past. It's, in some ways he has created
many opportunities for me in life.
But he's never really been a father to me.
It was so nice meeting you. Have your number.
Please let me know if it's...
It's dangerous to call you, but you always have a place to visit.
Family... a place to visit family?
I'm not sure what we are.
If you're not opposed to it,
I would love to sit down again under better circumstances
and we may get to know one another.
I don't have any other siblings.
I'd like that very much. Perhaps we can figure out this mystery together.
For our mother's sake.
Yeah.
Fade out of there.
Just come back to Margo.
Walking away from this
Heading back to the rendezvous
That motherfucker gun there
You guys ever like more than friends?
Is that pretty?
I feel like they definitely banged.
Like if I could put it delicately.
That's the word.
Like it was like, you know, like the teacher and student and it was in college and she's
like, oh, and you know.
No teacher.
Yeah.
I need some private tutoring.
Can you take me back to Paints? I was in college and she was like, oh, and you know. I'm your teacher. Yeah.
I need some private tutoring.
I need to go get out of pain.
So was he in this thing the whole time?
Was he recruited after the fact when they knew
that he was close to you?
When he came to see you in the hospital,
was he really concerned?
Or was he there checking up?
And so much revealed. You guys all come
back Desmond and Carter. Carter you're giving your weapons back and and and five
hit points and five and there's like here's a potion of moderate cure wounds. It's from another game, but try it.
See if it does anything.
You, you know, her last words were like, just stay out of trouble until the grand ritual.
And you guys meet back where at this the new hotel the new hotel meet
back at the new hotel all of you just constantly watching over your shoulder
for anything what do you want to do how do you want to well Margo shows up and
she like throws a masquerade mask at Carter.
She's like, I got you a disguise.
Uh oh. I got you this.
I hope it helps. It's got like jangly bells
on it and stuff.
And then she gives a new hat to Desmond
and she's like, oh look, I found this
non-exotic wig for you that you requested.
You did a pretty good job getting disguises for us
Frown line you got a real frown line going on right now
What's she seem more than average tense
You're way more German. It was very hard. Honestly trying to find suitable disguises for all of us. We're also very unique
And so very special And fairies kicks open the door at this point with a bottle that she's procured she just like
all of bags and coats and shit just fucking drop she just like greets us for four glasses
like slams this bottle on the counter with all four glasses and just starts pouring. Ah, Fae Roos, where were you?
What's this?
I got you a wig.
Oh, it's blonde.
Thank you.
Yes, that's fun.
She grabs it and just like pops it on her head as a hat,
keeps pouring.
Dark hair cascading out the bottom.
I can see you've all had a very complicated day.
Just for telling us, do I have an offer to pass along?
We have a lot to describe.
Fair use before my drink first.
Can we see where this is?
Just hands over, hands over everything.
And she's, as she's, when she, as she like hands each glass,
she's like slamming one for herself,
like one for you, one for me, one for you, one for me.
Yes.
Fill mine up as well.
It's been a day.
Yeah.
I mean, we should all pow wow about it.
The good thing, I think, should all pow wow about it. The good thing I think in all of this is that we can all trust each other.
She pours, Friar's pours, and yet another drink.
Cheers, I guess.
Yes.
Yes, cheers to that.
To right, cheers to that. To right, cheers to that.
To trust.
So, yeah, I mean, we could get into it or Troy can end the episode.
We've got a little pitch to pass along to you.
And as this was, if I may, just look back in that post office box, which no one said they went to.
But there's a slender little box in there, and with a pressed flower on the top,
and it's wrapped in ribbon, and there's a little card underneath the ribbon.
underneath the ribbon. And the letterhead, the stationary is just EGB Ampersand B. And as you are sipping in this little room,, would have been terribly thoughtless of me to disregard the feast of St. Valentine,
Miss Shebron.
Do hope this gift finds you well.
Know that you, in the safety of, shall I say, the squad, is the subject of my every waking hour. I do hope that all is well with you, and you
shall return but times. And knowing that you're out there on this most romantic of days brings
to me a snatch of John Donne. And now good morning to our waking souls, which watch not one another out of
fear, for love, all love of other sights controls and makes one little room and everywhere. From a
little room, yours, V.
Yours, V. Oh fuck, I forgot Valentine's Day.
That's amazing.
Just have these men in your life that just don't love you.
They don't keep secrets.
She's drunk now.
That was beautiful.
I hope he doesn't do anything ever to hurt you.
Wipes away a tear.
Oh fuck, I didn't send him anything.
Carter's like slicking at Margo and starts sweating.
Did you get your Cracker Jack bucks, Carter?
Did you get your cereal ring for me?
Troy?
Did you tell anybody where you're staying? Like Desmond, did you tell?
No!
Did you tell Barrington?
Mickey, your uncle, or anything?
Told no one.
No one knows we're at this hotel.
No one knows you're at this hotel.
Okay.
We're staying under the name Underhill.
Underhill?
Yeah.
Okay.
So, imagine the night
is just you guys laying out
everything that Zara told you.
Obviously, Margo
not being super forthcoming.
I don't even know if Fae Rue's
is getting into the weeds with her
personal story, so it's great
that you guys have plenty to talk about.
It's Saturday night.
Are you still thinking of breaking into the Penny Foundation
or breaking into Empire Spices tonight?
Are you gonna call someone?
Are you gonna try and go against what she said
and like try and entrust information with Barrett?
It's Saturday night right now?
Yeah.
I mean, discotheque obviously.
You're telling me that you're just going to listen to this lady who came to you and
told you everything you wanted to hear and smiled.
I mean, we did a psychology role. She seems pretty...
She seemed pretty up and up. I mean look she's talking about... Listen, you know me.
You know I fight for the rights of women. She is gonna start a sisterhood
of the traveling pants or whatever it's called.
She is ready.
All right, that would be real weird.
So weird.
Yeah, I do trust her and I'd like to think I'm a pretty good judge of character.
And she, you know, it's all Gavagant.
It sounds like he's sacrificing people left and right.
There's going to be this whole thing.
We've told you, off camera, about everything.
So, yeah, I think.
She could be using us just the same.
She's just trying to get ahead of it,
and then when she takes power,
what if she was the one who did the smoke monster,
the fog monster?
I heard the man say he would take care of it.
And now I can't say who he was speaking to. So it turns out I can't trust her
blindly, but it does put his a tour of the final pen into the board connecting the various threads
of string in my mind.
I mean, she told us exactly where it's happening. If you could think of a different way for us to
find out that information, I'd love to hear it. But now we she told us exactly where it's happening. If you could think of a different way for us to find out that information, I'd love to
hear it. But now we know.
We know exactly where to go.
Yeah, we could either trail her or we could follow her.
We could follow up with that lady that you spoke to with Muster Veliers.
I mean, if this Muster Ficus is much of a friend to women as she claims. And maybe the sorority surrounding the Blue Pyramid Club has some opinions about her
and we could be good journalists and vet another source.
Yeah. I mean, that waitress did think she was responsible for everything,
so it might be an uphill battle there.
I mean, all I... I just walked away from that meeting wanting more than anything to get into that Mizer house.
The what what? The what house?
The place where...
Sorry, a Garvagan's Manse outside of the city. It's a fortress. It's all booby trapped. It sounds crazy.
Is that why they're bringing people?
You speak Arabic, right, Feroz?
Yes.
Yeah, you know that Miser means Egypt.
It's the Egypt House.
Yeah.
Mossad House.
She advised us to lay low, but I suppose we're under no obligation to
follow where the Queen of the Order leads us.
We got three more nights.
I say it's been an order.
What does that supposed to mean?
I'm sorry, Brotherhood Order.
It's all the same to me.
I think we've had a real breakthrough today.
I think we should just celebrate,
if I can play some cards.
You know, like, sometimes it's important to like,
to treat yourself a little bit, treat yourself.
Do you know what I mean?
That's a nice jacket you have there.
It looks like you've already done that today. Well, this is obviously, do you know what I mean? That's a nice jacket you have there, it looks like you've already done that today.
Well this is obviously, as you know, for stealth purposes,
as well as protecting my inside organs.
Did you get something for everyone else,
or just thinking only about yourself?
Margo came there, yes.
Jesus, salt on a cracker, you are,
get me some soup to dunk you in, Jesus Christ!
I brought booze, I brought booze, Margo brought disguises, what did you bring? Get me some soup to dunk you in, Jesus Christ. What's going on?
I brought booze, Margot brought disguises.
What did you bring?
I brought Intel and this fucking cool jacket.
Do you guys understand that when we go outside,
how much cooler you're going to look next to this jacket?
By proxy.
Do you know what's favorite is the sisterhood
of pants sounds amazing.
Speaking of sisterhood, my mother might be alive
and I just met my brother.
What?
Excuse me?
Girl, what?
Pours herself another drink.
And I just met my brother.
Drinks a lot as well.
Yeah, this sounds like a,
let's hang out, let's get in our PJs
and let's talk, let's just talk it out.
This is gonna be great.
Did you met your brother?
Yes.
So funny thing, and she's like super drunk right at this
point, she's like, so I go over to find Mr. E-mail,
mystery man that my mother may or may not have been having an
affair with.
And who answers the door?
But this handsome young lad who does not look entirely white, and he proceeds to tell me
that after I show him a picture of my mother from the journal, he says,
oh, why, that is my mother.
And long story short, she was taken from the hospital
after I was born by a group of people who are after me now.
He is in grave danger, by the way,
people after him and threatening his life and whatnot. And yes, long story short, she might be alive. Who knows?
People are after him and so people are after him now who
have tattoos Margot. We all know what that means. Cool, cool,
cool, cool cool cool cool cool
That's right another round
That is I'm having one
To hear
This is great. I mean not you know I don't know
Relatively speaking, but this is some deep shit
so now I
Definitely want to have a phone call with daddy dearest
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
While you're drunk.
While I'm drunk.
But there's no phone here, thankfully there is no phone.
Well, you're in the hotel now.
We're in the hotel.
We're in the hotel!
Oh, certainly good McCall.
Do you all want to listen in?
Oh man, this is totally what you would do
while you're wasted.
You know, if we should think about this.
We should, we should.
Now is that the time or the place?
Maybe.
No, we were just talking about this.
This is great.
This is a perfect reason to call.
Should I sleep it off?
And she's like, you're just passing.
Oh dear, oh dear.
See, I've had the least eventful day here. Yeah, wait, you did some shopping, that's cool.
I went shopping, I got photos developed.
I come home, come home to this hotel.
From the counter, Faeruz is like, did you develop the photos yet?
God, you are being a real sauerkraut right now.
A sauerkraut.
Oh dear.
Can we, do you want to talk something out?
No, I just want to talk to you.
What would I, what, what, what, what?
What, do you want to ask me more?
What's about to order, Margo?
Okay, all right.
Did you find anything else about to order?
You know what?
Let me make fun of you a little more.
I didn't make, when did I make fun of you?
Making fun of me, like, oh, what'd you think
I was kneeling in front of you holding your hands?
Oh, that's called banter.
I wonder if we tattoo these boys with these babies if they will live longer or not
I bet you they would
Let's see, let's see she like scrounges through like the hotel trying to find like a sewing kit
Let's just fucking do this
That's just fucking do this. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
You want to be part of the order?
Part of the order?
Prison taps?
Yes.
I got enough marks on my body, thanks.
I have this drunken German
give me a stick and poke of an even.
Thank you.
I'll be walking around looking like
some sort of longshoreman.
We all need, we all need rest, especially if we're fetching ourselves off to Muzzor House before too long.
It's Desmond's words of reason that probably bring the party to an eventual end as everyone goes to sleep.
Back to the old days, drinking yourselves to sleep.
In a hotel.
Ah, hotel.
In a hotel.
Feruze just like goes to bed just spiraling like, why would my mother be taken? Why was I then born after we two took her and why?
Margot going over and over like, how did I not see this?
How long has Gunther been a part of this?
I really, what do I got to do here?
I've befriended this, these people, but I've been tasked with something else.
Desmond just trying to suss out what you heard in the Empire exhibition and then meeting
her in person trying to see like, marry these two things.
Is she telling the truth?
And even if she's lying, there may still be an opportunity here to take out an evil.
Right.
And Carter...
Just fast asleep.
Fast asleep.
Just snoring.
No thoughts.
So you get up and you gotta pee.
And you stumble into the bathroom.
Pee.
And you go over the sink and you wash your hands.
Then you look up in the mirror.
When you look in the mirror,
just see your original beautiful full face.
We'll see you next week.
Oh!
Yeah.
I'm still bargain.
Wish we had like real good music that we can't use.
We'll get that in season 3.

You are now entering Springfield.
Where's the body?
Off the side of the ditch down there.
You know, surrounded by all this crime scene tape.
Hello?
Am I dead?
My name is John.
I'm the new forensic pathologist.
I can see you.
And that's how we'll figure out how you were murdered.
That means ghosts are real!
Since then I've noted multiple additional missing case files and even missing bodies.
Let's say I believe you came across some record-keeping discrepancies and a string
of deaths.
