Starting point is 00:00:00 Here's the scenario. You're going on a vacation. You're going on a cruise. It's the foursome. It's you and your guy, her and her, okay? And you guys are going on a cruise, but for some reason, you and her man miss the boat and you have to catch up with them in, like, you know, Costa Rica. Are you okay with them being on this cruise alone all the way to Costa Rica? Wow, the hypothetical right here. That was the most words I've ever heard in a hypothetical. can stop us. Ooh, yeah. It's like a show you use to love.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Just rebrand it enough. It's stronger, better, bigger power because it is the golden hour. It's the golden hour. Like, what's the scariest movie experience you've ever had? Ooh. Because I don't say, I'm not saying what's the scariest movie experience you've ever had? Because I don't say, I'm not saying what's the scariest movie you've ever seen. Because that's different for everyone, right? But what's the scariest movie experience you've ever had? I'll tell you right now.
Starting point is 00:01:15 What's you? It's going to sound lame now. We're going, right? In perspective, it's going to sound lame. But when Blair Witch Project came out, we were told it was real. We're like, this is actual footage. This is real. And I went to an open night with my boys, we were told it was real. We're like, this is actual footage. This is real. And I went to an open night with my boys in high school.
Starting point is 00:01:28 I was terrified. How dumb are we all that we all thought that was real? Yeah, yeah. But how about this? I thought that was real. When they were at the MTV Movie Awards, I was with some friends who were like, this is really real. I was like, bro, this is fake, man. I was tricked.
Starting point is 00:01:43 I remember. I remember. Do you remember that? I remember going. I wasn't scared. I'll tell you what. I remember. I remember. Do you remember that? I remember going. I wasn't scared. I'll tell you what happened to me when I went to see Blair Witch. It was so exciting. Everybody wanted to see it.
Starting point is 00:01:51 All the theaters were sold out. We drove like 30 miles to like another city. We sit. They had no seats. We were sitting in the front row. And that fuck, I got vertigo. I was like. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Because that wasn't a thing then. That was new then. It was new. Found footage was new. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was like so. And then after was new then it was found footage was yeah yeah yeah yeah and it was like so and then after and then they made so many stupid you know what they found footage is just lazy yeah i can get into it though you know what i like a lot is the one where it's like the cam it's all on a computer screen i'm a sucker for those movies dude oh i
Starting point is 00:02:18 hate it when it's not even good but i know it's like it's like surveillance footage too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What movie is that? Unfriended? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I enjoy those myself. Yes, dude. It can't be too expensive to make. No, no, not at all. What's your favorite? What's your most terrifying movie experience?
Starting point is 00:02:32 Okay, honestly, and it's for a very specific reason. I love it. I remember the Blair Witch. That scared the life out of me. But when I was a kid, my dad showed me The Exorcist. And the movie itself didn't scare me that much. But there's that one. I don't know if you guys remember.
Starting point is 00:02:48 There's that one part. It's kind of early on in the movie when Ellen Burstyn is looking through the house late at night. And there's this like half of a frame flash of that demon, that face that comes up. And if you blink, you just miss it. But my eyes were wide open looking at this movie because i was into it and i saw that and that image that like tiny little jump frame to that image scared me to death i couldn't sleep for like two months here and what year is this is always subliminal yes Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm so young. Man. I've never seen it. This is 78, 79, right? Yeah, 70-something.
Starting point is 00:03:27 1960. See, this gets wild, though. This gets like... This is a different part, but this part's scary, too. Any old lady stuff, dude? I'm dead. Yeah. I'm dead at old lady stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Young? Oh, not me. Old. You don't get scared of old ladies? No, no, no. I'll slap the shit out of an old lady stuff, dude, I'm dead. I'm dead at old lady stuff. Young? Oh, not me. Old. You don't get scared of old ladies? No. I'll slap the shit out of an old lady. There it is! There it was, dude! Come on! That hurt my eyes.
Starting point is 00:03:55 That is terrifying. Come on! Another one like that is when, another one like that is in Fight Club when the dick was on the screen. Terrifying, you know what I mean? Also terrifying. Oh shit, it's a dick! Just for a different reason.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Okay, for me... Eric's the only one that saw the dick. That didn't happen. Nick. His mind's getting away from him. That's a demerit for Nick. We need a demerit system for this? We just gave him a bonus,
Starting point is 00:04:21 knock him back down. Knock him down! Well, it's like that. Remember the urban myth was that Disney had subliminal... Yup. a demerit system for this? We just gave him a bonus. Knock him back down. Knock him down. Well, it's like that. Remember the urban myth was that Disney had subliminal and Little Mermaid cover had a dick on it?
Starting point is 00:04:31 That's all fake. And the Lion King sits down and comes up with sex. Is that fake? Is that real? It is?
Starting point is 00:04:37 Well, I remember I have two of them, but one of the ones that really scared me I remember is I have a big brother from Big Brothers of America. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Shout out to David. Was he cool? I've known him for 40 years now. Was he cool? That's awesome, actually. Yeah, he was really cool. Great dude. My mom was a single parent, only child.
Starting point is 00:04:55 I was only child, so she wanted me to have male influence in my life. But I was like seven. And he took me to see a double feature. Uh-oh. The Fog. Oh, okay. and the second one was phantasm phantasm oh that'll get you dude so when that when that fucking silver ball oh it's flying around yeah and it bores into like you know dude i was like i i cry i was crying seven is not right
Starting point is 00:05:20 i know he had to take me out of the theater oh Oh, my God. But he didn't know. He was like, you know, you didn't know at the time that it was like, you know. But that one was scary. And then another one for me that just one frightening moment, like you said, with Exorcist, to me, was actually Exorcist 3. Dude, that movie is good. Wait, there's a scene in Exorcist 3 where, like, it's quiet and they had the music. And then you think something's going to happen, but nothing happens. And then a nun just goes across the screen like this. That is such a good part.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Across the hallway in the back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was in the theater like this. You know that Blumhouse who does all the movies? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They actually study what scares people the most and the timing. So now there's a science to it. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I believe that. Actually, I heard that Jason Blum, the guy that does all those. This is it now there's a science to it. Oh, yeah. I believe that. Actually, I heard that Jason Blum, the guy that does all those, it's a minimum amount of jump scares per movie. They have to have six or something like that. They get me. It's just chilling right now, right? You're just chilling. Is this in the 80s?
Starting point is 00:06:18 I heard you guys. Yeah, this is the 80s. I heard you guys talking about Dahmer on on the on the uh recent episode that's my shit dommer was obsessed with this movie yeah obsessed with this movie you know you know how the dommer series on netflix they they thought he was making people watch um what were they playing oh exorcist he's actually making watch star wars really in real life is star wars why would they because he liked the villain with the yellow eyes so he put yellow contacts oh that is the people that's the scariest part about dommer I've ever heard, actually.
Starting point is 00:06:46 At least it's a long movie. Look how long this is. Ah, shit! It got me again! I forgot it was going to happen. That got me. That got Nick like a motherfucker. Oh, my God!
Starting point is 00:06:58 Nick couldn't even hit the stop button at all. That might be the best jump scare, because that scares the... I thought it was coming from the other way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought you scared the from the other way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just kidding. Oh, my God. It's so loud in my head. I'm going to need surgery.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Nick's going to need surgery. We're friends that laugh. We're friends that shout. Sometimes we don't know what we're talking about, but that won't stop us. Nothing can stop us just rebranded enough it's stronger better bigger power cause it is It's the golden hour It's the golden hour
