The Golden Hour - Am I Biohacking? ft Ben Greenfield | #203
Episode Date: September 25, 2026Chris and Erik open with Bitcoin regret and a time machine dilemma: kill Hitler, or buy 10,000 Bitcoin at a dollar? Erik recaps his weekend at Mohegan Sun, from a 75-minute massage that went ...wrong in the first few minutes (and what the protocol is for walking out of one) to a craps table full of old-school Italian guys straight out of Casino, passing the dice to Charlie. Chris explains "Bond," the secret eighth day of the week. The guys also get into The Handmaid's Tale and why some true stories, like Girl in the Basement, maybe shouldn't be made into movies. Then biohacker Ben Greenfield joins over Zoom to talk about his new documentary, Boundless: The Man Who Became Human. Ben talks about going from being his own guinea pig to finding balance with family and faith, what he'd tell his younger self, how his approach compares to Brian Johnson's, how a regular person should start a longevity protocol, and where he draws the line in the longevity space.Watch Boundless: The Man Who Became Human (streaming on Apple TV and Amazon): https://boundlessdoc.com/Follow Ben Greenfield on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bengreenfieldfitness/Get two extra episodes every month at https://Patreon.com/TheGoldenHourPodcastTo submit to the show email: thegoldenhoursubs@gmail.com or Dropbox Link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/fqtbexhxyaky9X8f8MV1In the subject line, specify whether your submission is King It or Sting It, Debate Club, Rip My Drip, Relationship Advice, or Flaunt My Aunt. Dude, listen to me.
This...
Yeah, you don't make a movie.
You don't make a movie about this.
Watch on Disney Plus.
Yeah, I was just going to say that.
Well, because it's all Hulu.
Yeah.
It's like, there's no more Hulu and none of that anymore.
It's all Disney Plus.
Okay, but, you know, just take it off Disney Plus.
Yeah, anyone watch The Incredibles or Girl in the Baseman?
Yeah, dude.
Hey, Luca or Girl in the Baseman?
Luca has gay undertones.
Let's watch Girl in the Basement.
We're friends that shout
Sometimes we don't know what we're talking about
But that won't stop us
Nothing can stop us
I've just bought
I just bought a ton of
I've just put
So how much is a Bitcoin now?
Like $85,000?
I bought, I just right now this morning
bought 12 Bitcoins
No you didn't
No, I didn't
86. All right, dude.
I can't believe.
I had it at $6,000.
Well, that's okay.
One thing's for sure you wouldn't be doing this podcast.
How many did you have that?
I didn't have a lot.
Oh, okay.
Either way.
I wish it was like, you know, what's his name?
50 cent, you know?
Yeah, yeah.
He was, oh yeah, that guy did pay me in Bitcoin.
And it's worth $76 million now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That got, I have, I don't know how much I have in Bitcoin.
Not, not much.
but I don't have a full Bitcoin.
Can you look back and see like, you know.
Oh, yeah, there it is.
What do you mean?
I'm just saying go way back.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, that's crazy.
So what, so 2016 it was what?
Oh, my God.
Oh, that's never happened.
You know what?
Over 200 episodes.
That's okay.
Over 200 episodes.
Phone never went off.
That's okay.
Bears.
Not ever.
It's over 200 episodes, Nick.
I don't want you to beat yourself up, you know?
100, Patreon.
So it was at $768 in May.
Are you kidding me?
No, no, no, no. May 2016.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Could you imagine if you just bought five of them?
And honestly, that's no skin off your back too.
You could have.
But even go back further than that.
No, I don't know.
Just imagine if somebody just remembered, like, when it was a dollar,
and they just happened to have a hundred of them,
just laying around, you know what I mean?
And they just, it's just on a hard drive.
Look at this.
2010, the price stayed below $1 for the internet.
entirety of the year.
Wow.
And 2011, Bitcoin reached $1.
So if you're,
so the time machine,
here's a time machine question.
Yeah.
Do you kill Hitler or buy a,
or buy 10,000 Bitcoin at a dollar?
Well, I'll tell you this much.
That's the choice.
It's one or the other.
You know what I mean?
If you,
if you just go back 15 years,
you don't,
you don't change too.
much.
Yeah, yeah.
You go back a hundred years, it could be a real bad effect.
You don't know what you're going to, you don't know what you're fucking with.
Yeah, the butterfly effect.
Yeah.
We could all be dead.
Who knows?
No, I don't know.
Obviously, you kill Hitler, but, you know, the Bitcoin one is a good one too.
Oh, this guy.
This guy's the guy.
And I bet you he still didn't even make the money he should make.
You know what I mean?
This guy was like, buy, just buy one dollar worth of Bitcoin, please.
the profit this guy
yeah let's hope he held on to it
he did he's this guy's so much
really oh really yeah
really who is he
just some dude
if I saw this you know what if I saw this
I would have done it but even
13 years ago were we even looking at
YouTube the way we look at it
he looks so much more professional in these shots
yeah well yeah because he well that's all AI
well I know but still I know that
I'm not selling oh
that's crazy
I'm going to listen to this guy
I'm going to start listening
Well I mean this is he got lucky
And now he's a financial guru
So now he's making money off being lucky
Yeah
Sure right yeah
It'd be like if you bought the lottery
You won the lottery ticket
And now you're like
I'm the lottery guru
Right right right right right
You're gonna want to pick numbers
That yeah
Yeah exactly
I mean this is just
You know there was no way to tell
This guy just was like
Could have easily been a crazy guy
These are like the people that make money off of, you know, like make money off of telling you how to make money.
Then they make a bunch of money off that.
There was that one Asian guy that was like, you know, you don't have to flip houses?
You know, and he was just on a yacht talking about flipping houses.
Yeah.
And I don't think he even flipped houses anymore.
He just got people, you know, sold.
But is, is Bitcoin ever going to get big, big after this, though?
Is it ever going to get to be a million?
Yeah, I think so.
You do?
Yeah, because it's the only, it's the one.
true
coin.
It's the base coin,
you know?
Well,
yeah.
Nothing else is going to,
nothing else is going to,
people keep trying and they keep making these things.
Yeah.
It's still all based off that.
I mean,
there's been,
I wonder if there's like any regular stocks that have made that kind of
crazy jump.
No,
it's all,
it's all coins.
I mean,
you know,
I don't even,
I mean,
look, dude,
you know,
it's like,
I put money in Tesla early on.
And I made, you know, I don't know, 10 something thousand dollars.
10, 10, 10,000.
Yeah.
And I had Netflix, but I sold it, you know, and I, you know, that would have been another.
Well, I don't even control like that.
I have a person and they just, you can.
Well, no, no, no.
Yeah, I do have.
Look and see.
I do have a person except for I'm just talking about this, the little trading that I do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
But, yeah.
And I just, I don't know, like I bought space.
What is it?
SpaceX when it came out.
Oh, you lost money then, you.
I mean like $500.
But like, you know, but that'll go up, I think.
Yeah, yeah.
You know, I'm saying there are times when like some small company gets a part of some larger company and there's like some government contract.
And the next thing you know, the stock of that company triples or quadruples in like a short time.
I mean, there are cases of that kind of thing.
Let me look at what I.
So I had, so I have, this is just my Robin Hood.
account.
Why is that funny?
It's just funny because that's no better than
Fan duel.
What you're doing.
Yeah, it is.
No, it's the same thing.
The stock market is just high,
it's just gambling.
Well, yeah.
When you're doing it like this.
Yeah, but I'm not trading every day.
I go months without even knowing about that.
I go, oh yeah, Robin Hood.
And I look for me.
But yeah, I know.
Yeah, sure, I hear you.
I put $1,000 in that one that it was like,
the AI will do everything for you.
And I did it like, I don't know how many months ago.
I don't even know what it's at now.
But like look at this.
Ethereum is at 2,700.
And yeah, it'll go like.
That's what I'm saying.
But it was at 1,000.
I would say, you know, a few years ago.
Yeah, it was.
It was.
Yeah.
And that's when I bought it.
And now I lost.
Let's see.
How much have I lost here?
How am I down on?
It was when light coin.
Oh, no.
I,
XLM is the one I lost.
2019,
like that's when,
but XRP is up now.
Look,
look at 2019 when,
this is when,
yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But is that going to happen again?
Look at that.
Damn, look at XRP, bro.
XRP in one month was like,
that would have been a good one.
No,
there was one,
Binance.
Remember,
you know,
Binance?
It was one of those trading companies for the,
right?
Got it.
They had their own coin.
So, like,
you could buy,
Bynance coins to buy
Bitcoin or all this kind of stuff.
But the Binance coin itself
like went up
you know so it was just like
The physical
finance coin wow that's hilarious
That's silly so silly
Everything about it is silly
See XRP look at that jump it had you know what I mean
That's the day you go
I'm out
If you know but you don't go out because
Here's the thing
Okay but you take some out
You would think but everybody's chasing the Bitcoin
I understand but if you
Well, back then, too, especially.
If you go, if you, if you invested, like, what was it at before that jump?
It was at, what, what's that?
So that's, then you made three times your money.
Well, no.
And then that, what's it at the high?
There is three.
Almost seven.
So you're making, so you're saying seven times your money.
So if you had put a hundred thousand dollars in there, you make seven, you make, what, almost a million dollars.
Yeah, you take out half.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And then you're good for a while and then, you know,
and then if it hits the Bitcoin and then you got fucking, you know what I mean?
You're out of here.
Look, man, you can't be beating yourself up about this stuff.
But that's what people do.
I know, I know.
All you can do is beat yourself.
I know.
I know it's.
I got something for you.
And just for everyone.
People listening, Nick, you, just, I just a question, okay?
I was in Connecticut.
I was doing the Mohegan Sun, Comics Roadhouse.
It was fun.
I'm at this casino.
I get there off a red eye and I'm like, you know what?
Let me get a haircut.
I got a haircut there.
I like my new haircut.
Cool.
And then I said,
you don't want to get a massage.
Okay.
You know,
I went to the spa.
Get a pampered.
All right.
Yeah,
I like to pamper myself.
Here's my question.
Oh.
I am 12 minutes into a 75-minute massage.
Mm-hmm.
And I know it's going to be terrible.
Okay.
Rested away.
Okay.
What do you do?
Terrible in what way?
Everything about it.
Oh, wow.
You know, like I could just tell I was like,
like the hands didn't feel like they wanted to even be doing anything.
Yeah.
You know?
And it's like I didn't like the pressure.
I was,
my sinuses were starting to mess up because of the,
uncomfortable.
You were uncomfortable.
I was uncomfortable.
And I'm like,
what's the protocol?
Yeah.
You know?
Like,
what do you do?
I think,
I think,
I think for sure what you should do in the future is never get a 75-minute one.
Listen to me.
I was 12 minutes in.
So it doesn't, even if it was a 60 minute.
It does, it does.
Even if it was 55 minutes.
You still have it over an hour left.
And that's so much different than 45 minutes.
That's so much different.
I was at that moment, I was already like, oh, God.
I was like, this is, you know, and it's just what I didn't know what to do.
Yeah, I would.
Now, here's the thing.
I would never get a 75 minute massage, but I would get a 60 minute.
There is a world where I get a 60 minute.
So if I got a 75 minute massage, because if I got a 60 minutes, I just ride it out.
Okay, so you, so regardless.
75?
I might say, by the way, how do you know it's 12 minutes in?
You look at your watch?
I just, I, my internal clock was like, this is, I got a lot of time left.
You're a comic, you're a comic.
Yeah.
You know your time.
All right, so my clothes, I know, I just did my first setup.
You know what I mean?
I'm at the fucking, I'm at the part where I talk about, uh, Megan, the movie, fucking, uh, you get what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So, okay, so I say, I stop.
Really?
I think so.
I think I say, hey, man, I forgot I got something or I'm, I, this is just not working out.
It has nothing to do with you.
I just, I'm in the wrong headspace.
I'll pay for it.
I got to go.
Yeah, I think that's what I do.
Okay.
Who cares?
I think that's what I do.
Okay.
But maybe not if I'm not in the right mood or something.
When I look back on it, I think I should have done that.
So you just wrote it out.
I had to write it out.
And it was, it was bad the whole time?
Yes.
And I really was like, but I tell you, okay.
So here's, now I'm going to tell you.
Now, I'm going to tell you more about.
I got it.
Yeah.
Now, this, what I'm about to say.
Okay.
I don't think it has anything to do with the overall thing, you know, it was a black lady.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Well, you don't want attitude.
You don't want attitude coming your way afterwards.
Chris, Chris.
Yeah.
She comes in to get me.
Yeah.
And I go, hi, you know.
Yeah.
This is, she went like this.
Oh, wow.
she
Jesus Christ
You she looked me up and down
She did the elevator eyes
I knew in that moment
I was like
Oh man
Oh
Like I was like
Wait
It was like a spider sense
You know
Where I was like
It was like at the end of the massage
You flashed back to that part
And you know
I knew it all along
Yeah
And it was just like
I just I don't know
Okay so you're saying you
Would
the moment you're feeling whatever you're feeling, you're just like you're out.
Well, what I, well, no, not the moment because that moment could pass.
But if I feel it for a few minutes and I'm like, I don't think I'm getting out of this.
Yeah, I think you have to just say something.
All right, that's interesting.
What would you do, Nick?
Yeah, I've never went to a massage.
So it's really hard to put myself in the position.
Really?
Yeah.
You've never gotten a massage?
He's only 42.
38.
Oh, you're uncomfortable with, uh, 402, he still won't have a massage.
strangers touch on your body?
I don't even know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's weird.
I think the whole idea of being trapped is part of it.
So 75 minutes, definitely too long.
But see, by the way, when I do that, it's because I'll go, give me the regular 60-minute massage.
And then I like the extra time on my feet.
Okay.
You know, so it's not even like I'm, you know what I mean?
Sure.
So, but the.
Okay.
Sure.
Now, I don't think her being black has anything to do with, okay?
But it might, you know, I don't do with what?
Just the overall vibe that I was feeling.
Because here's the thing, I've gotten a lot of massages.
I don't remember the last time it was a black woman.
Oh, I've gotten a few from a black woman.
Really?
But where were you?
I was thinking about that.
When I was with Kristen and we would do like the couple, we'd have the people come over.
What's that app?
Oh, well, that, that's different.
I'm talking about like you're out someplace.
Yeah, I don't know.
You're at a spa.
Asian or white, usually.
Yeah, this is why even when she came in, I was like, oh.
Okay.
I was like, okay, this is all right.
You know what I mean?
Like, it doesn't matter.
If this is one of the best ones, then maybe I stay.
Once you go black, you never go back.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
So I was like, okay.
But it was in my head chill.
I was like, I wonder why I don't see a lot of black masseuses.
You go, oh, that's why.
I knew it all along.
I was just one.
And I was curious.
That's why I said, you know what I would, are there, are there any black masseuses listening, male or female?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know.
Yeah, it was like, so it was just, oh man.
I think it's really about like if you're in the middle,
you're at the start of something, it's not going well.
What is the protocol?
So you're saying you would be like, hey, I got to go.
Nick's never done it so it wouldn't even matter.
I'm just curious you guys out there listening.
Maybe I think maybe.
I think maybe.
What would you do?
What have you done?
Have you done this?
Have you had this experience?
I'm just curious.
I think maybe, yeah.
I think maybe there are times in my life.
where I would have let it go,
but now I'm just,
I don't know,
I almost feel like I'm too over that shit.
I was all in my head.
Yeah,
no, there are times where that does happen to me.
I was just in my head,
I was like,
oh, this is,
what are we?
And I just thought,
you know,
you feel bad.
You're like,
I don't want to make this person feel bad.
I know,
but I'm like,
God, this is expensive.
You know,
what am I?
You know what I mean?
But then she'll be like,
fuck it.
I get the time off.
Right, right, right.
Then I'm like,
then I'm like,
well, you know what,
do your job, you know, at the same time, I'm like, it was just really, it was an odd
experience. Yeah. So I just was wondering what people would do. You know, I was curious about
what, you know, I, I feel like you'd be the type to be like, you know, you just kind of like,
oh, hey, hey, hey, what? Yeah. What are you doing? I think. Yeah, I mean, I have told, have you,
do you, when you get massages, and I've gotten a few massages, I'm not, I don't really love getting
them, but I will say, can you go harder? Can you, you know. Right, right.
You?
That's different.
But then here's the thing too, though.
This is how to get you with that.
I say hurt me.
Because sometimes that's why you have to pay extra for a deep tissue massage.
Why?
I don't know.
Maybe it's hard more work for that.
So sometimes if you're getting like a Swedish or a country, like what are those massages, that's different.
So if you say, hey, can you go harder?
They'll be like, well, oh, we can go a little bit harder.
But, you know, if you want a deep tissue.
Well, I always click deep tissue.
Right.
I'm never, I'm not.
I like that too.
Yeah.
I go.
And they say, is this pressure I say, okay?
I always say, you hurt me.
You're not, you're not going to hurt me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's never hard enough.
Yeah, it was, I was quite an, it was quite a experience.
Yeah, no, I don't.

Here's something else that happened at this casino. So, you know, I went, I'm at,
it's like after the show and I go to the crap table. I like playing craps.
Yeah.
So I'm at this crap table, man. And I look around at a certain point.
And I'm surrounded by, I'm surrounded by Goodfellas.
Oh, wow. I love it.
Oh, fuck. That's my family. I probably was related to some.
But I'm talking about old school.
Nice.
Like I was telling me, you know what?
That scene in casino where all the mob bosses are in the courtroom.
They all looked like that.
You know, they were just these guys were like late 60s, 70s.
And they all knew each other.
And there was this one guy.
So like, you know, the dice come around and I'm about to roll.
And the guy's my door.
He says, you know, let's pass the dice to Charlie.
Oh, wow.
We got a pass to Charlie.
You know, and I'm like, all right, who's Charlie?
You know, and he's down there.
Yeah, yeah.
And then he's like, all right.
Here we go, everybody.
Let's go, Charlie.
Oh, man, that's awesome.
I love it.
And it was like, I was having such a guitar.
In the middle of it, you should have been like, what do you guys think about this trans issue?
Could you imagine?
This is how these guys were, too.
So the guy wasn't saying the numbers.
He was saying white athletes jersey numbers.
Oh, my.
So it was the best.
He was like, Larry Bird, let's go, Larry.
Oh, my God.
Come on, give me a Larry Burke.
And he was like, he was doing like the second baseman for the 1947 Dodgers or something.
something like that.
You know, to be like,
Saddeny Kofax coming at you.
You know,
it was like,
it was like such an experience, you know?
Wow,
that's fun.
Why would have loved that?
Oh my God.
Were they dressed nice?
No,
they were just chilling.
Oh,
God it, got it.
You know, it was like chill.
It wasn't like, yeah.
And, you know,
but it was just like I was looking around and I was like,
this is awesome.
Yeah, that is awesome.
And then some kid comes over to me, though,
you know, make some kid in his 20s.
He's like, hey, man, do I know, do I know you?
Do I know you?
I get that a lot, whatever.
you know he's like oh you're eric griffin oh i love that show you're playing with my dad you know what yeah yeah yeah so it was
like everybody was watching oh wow that's cool i don't know but it was just like one of those times i was
like that one of the funnest times i've ever had playing crap i love times like that where you don't
i always call that shit bond day you it's a new kind of day you don't know it's going to be you don't know
when it's going to happen but all of a sudden you realize you're in the thick of having the most
fucking fun yeah and you just like you can't set it up you can't be like let's go to vegas
and let's have a night.
That's not going to necessarily be Bondi.
Bondi is what happens
when you already are in the thick of it
and you realize,
holy fucking shit, dude,
it's Bonday.
It's the eighth day of the week.
It was totally like that.
And one guy's name was Charlie.
The other guy's name was Ed.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
They all knew each other.
They're saying things to each other.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Dude, one time I was with my friends,
I used to talk about Bondi.
I mean,
I bet they talked about Bondi for fucking.
at least 10 years more more more at least maybe 15 okay
criteria in the criterion collection for congratulations
it's a very early episode early on but this was something before that that started
the my podcast started so bond day I would talk about bond day and then we would be like
maybe we my group my group friends would always be like maybe it's going to be bond day you never
know you know it would be like oh yeah all right cool and then and then and then one time we
were hanging out and we were having a good time and I go, hey, bro, it's Bondi. And we fucking
laughed so hard, bro. We laughed so hard. No, no, that's why it was funny because we go,
bro, I look at him and he was just smiling and we were having so much fun. I go, bro, it's Bondi.
And we fucking laughed, bro. Because you forget about Bondi and then when you realize you're
in Bondi, you go, oh, fuck, man. It actually really is something. It's the eighth,
the secret eighth day of the week, dude. It takes the place of a day of the week. And it
becomes a fucking fantastic fun thing man.
Well, I had that.
Well, you had a bond day, it sounds like.
It's been a while since I've had a bond day.
You know, you can...
It's fantastic.
Yeah, I guess you can have bond days with your family,
but, like, most of the time bond days is about, like,
fucking winning money or coming or, like, you know what I mean?
Like, getting a fucking great,
you know, a great steak with, like, some boys, you know what I mean?
Your boys, you know?
Yeah.
Or even by yourself.
Yeah, could be, could be.
Could be.
Yeah.
be you have issues being alone yeah so like I've been on the road oh man
I'm on the road and I'm like where's the steak house I get my iPad I got my
headphone wow you know and I go to like I'm talking about top notch yeah it's gonna be
$300 just for me all right wow I'm sitting there iPad yeah boom yeah I'm watching whatever
shows on right now I'm catching up you know what I'm just in that fucking fat ass steak
comes over. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I got to go like this. Would you like
yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And I'm just like, wow. Yeah. Just looking at everybody like,
have dudes having to deal with their chick. Wow, you love it. That's your vacation right there.
Yeah. And I'm just like, yeah, this. Dude, okay, so you start making me think about shows.
I, I took, because you won't shut the fuck up about, I watch Furious. I started Handmaid's Tale.
So I could watch a little bit of that
and then watch Testament.
Yes.
Okay, because, so just to appease you, bro.
Oh, appease me?
No, I also want to see it.
Yeah.
But it's better to say I'm appeasing you.
So I'm watching
Handmaid's Tale.
I'm on episode three or four.
It's really hard to watch.
It's really hard to watch for me.
You're going to get to it.
Dude, I totally get it.
That was what the whole thing about it.
I know.
I know.
There's a scene in that,
there's a scene in that show
that's like cold-blooded, okay?
Yeah.
There was already one cold-blooded scene
on like episode three
where the gay couple
where she gets her clit taken out.
But then has to watch her,
before that she watches her lover get hanged.
Dude.
Man,
that stuff's bad.
But this is the one.
Well, don't ruin it.
Well, all right.
I don't know.
Maybe you already got to it because she.
No, it's three episodes.
I don't even,
well, anyways,
you'll see because.
You have to understand it that the main chick, the family she's staying with, that girl, the woman, she actually wrote a bunch of the rules for this place.
She actually was, you'll start to see it.
She was the start of it.
Right, okay.
And what they do to her is like, you go, oh, you're getting what you, you won't reap what you yourself.
But anyways, I get it.
You watch that.
That establishes the world, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
But you might get hooked.
but it's like, yeah.
So I found it hard to watch too.
No, I genuinely, I genuinely like am very uncomfortable watching it.
Like it makes me feel very bad and deeply and shit.
And like, and I know it's fake, you know, but like I'm like, dude, am I going to spend my time watching this?
And I am.
But like, it just, it's hard.
You know, I think he's as you get older, my dad used to say, there's this movie that's just, it's a
masterpiece. It's called a woman under the influence.
And it's by
probably my favorite director ever,
John Cassavetes.
And it's just like,
if you pull it up, you'll see what kind of movie
a woman of the influence. But it's,
I mean, the performances are great.
It's done so,
it's so believable.
You know, and not every movie has to,
but one of my other favorite directors is David Lynch.
So I don't care if it's believable or not.
But the way that this was made was just unreal.
Okay. And my dad, I watched it when I was like, I don't know, uh, 20, late 20s.
And I said, dad, because my dad's one of my dad's favorite directors. And he was like,
I was like, man, this one, this movie's crazy. I was like, when's the last time he seen it?
He said, I haven't seen it a long time because I watched it again as an adult.
And I just, it was just too uncomfortable for me.
This, I'm, it's. And as you get older, I think that that kind of happened.
This is crazy that we're talking about this, man.
because there is a movie right now on Hulu,
and it's called The Girl in the Basement.
Okay.
And it is based off a true story that is so horrific
that I don't think a movie should have been made.
And that's what happens when you get to an adult age.
It's a real, it's a...
This is a real story.
This father...
Go to like the poster or something?
This father
made an underground dungeon.
Oh, I saw the trailer for this, yeah.
Go to the poster.
And he kept his daughter in this basement for 24 years.
Oh, right, yeah, Judd, yeah.
24 years.
Where she fathered, she gave birth to seven of his children.
Oh, that's, yeah.
Where one of them died.
She, sorry, so he.
Dude, listen to me.
this yeah you don't make a movie
you don't make a movie about this
watch on Disney
yeah I was just gonna say that
well because it's all Hulu
yeah it's like there's no more Hulu and none of that anymore
it's all Disney Plus
but I mean dude
this is just
yeah anyone watch the Incredibles
or girl in the basement
yeah dude
hey Luca or girl in the basement
I looka has gay undertone
let's watch her in the basement
I started
this and I was like
yeah they'll watch
nobody because I think is it because I looked
Buzz Lightyer you fucking kidding me
because I looked up
Put on girl in the basement
The real story
Yeah yeah
I was like
The real story is just
No I I know about this story
You just read a little bit about it
And you're just like
I don't know
This is terrible
It's terrible
I don't yeah I don't know
Why you make a movie like that
It is kind of weird
Like
Why do you make a
Why honestly
Why do you make a movie
Like that
I'm sorry
But like the
producers involved.
Maybe the director thinks he can,
the director,
you go,
uh,
maybe he thinks he can do something with it.
But I'm like,
but the producers and the comp and the studio is crazy.
Like is the money.
You know,
because she,
like,
because I read about it and she like,
they had to change her name and she's living out wherever she's
living with the,
with the surviving kids.
And they're just trying to,
yeah,
I don't think you recover from that.
No.
Because imagine these.
Poor kids grew up in the basement.
Dude, I just, so what you're talking about right now is as you get older, like right now.
And then me being older and becoming a parent.
Of course.
I'm just kind of like, I don't, this is, why would, what kind of sicko?
So the dad is like in a criminally insane prison, you know?
Right, right, right, right.
Yeah.
Because you know what else he did too is like he, he took, see, so he convinced him his wife.
that she ran away.
Okay?
That lived with him?
Yeah, he's married.
And then the babies that she's giving birth to,
he convinced the wife that the girl came back
and left them on the doorstep.
Jesus Christ.
And they made a movie.
I just...
What?
Yeah.
So there's certain movies like that where I just...
What's the...
Is there a documentary about it?
Even a documentary.
I understand, but like that's...
That's the kind of thing that you could argue.
You have to know that this kind of stuff happens.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I get why, you know, true, like it's like a, when you do true crime.
But I mean, but here's the thing.
Yeah.
When they do a documentary, they do a documentary and they make it about the person.
So we kind of like disassociate.
Oh, the Dahmer documentary.
Right.
The, you know, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, but man, just pick one of those victims.
and it's freaking horrible.
This is it?
Yeah, this is the documentary about the real story.
This is the documentary about the real story, and it's on Netflix.
Wow.
Story of a monster.
And then there's another one.
I mean, because it's so like...
Oh, it's Australian.
TV movie.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Television, oh, documentary.
Yeah, I mean, it's just...
Jesus Christ.
And this, you know what?
And this happens actually more than you think.
Twice is more than I think.
Yeah.
But yeah, because when I was looking this up,
I was like,
it was a story.
I was like,
it wasn't that story.
It was like,
it was like,
it was like,
oh my God.
Damn, dude.
But even like,
you know,
but even like, you know,
I don't know how,
I don't know if there actually has been stories like this.
But even,
even Schindler's list,
it took Stephen Spielberg
a long time to get that movie made.
Yeah.
And then like you watch that movie and you're like,
I don't,
I mean.
Why purposely I've never seen that movie?
because of that.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
So, but, but I, I will, I guess eventually, but it's just, I, every time I'm like, I can't watch
that.
But it's, but it's like, but I don't know if you need, that's a specific story.
But like, I don't know, like, it's like, do you, they never really made like the
Hitler story.
Right.
Is there like, here's, you know, there's no, there's no Hitler movie.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know what I mean?
I'm here for class.
The fuck it starts to college.
So it's like, I just, sometimes you go, I don't know if, I don't know if this is, I don't
know if this is what should have been made for entertainment value right right but you know the
producers directors they say well this is a story that needs to be told well yeah that's the thing you go
but i guess what you're talking about as you get older you go ah it's too disturbing i don't know so yeah and i
thought and to get back to like handmade's tale you know what i was thinking the whole time when i was
watching that and i was like what would i do yeah i thought that too you're like well you know like
when the guy was like, well, you don't have any, you can't, you don't have a bank account
anymore.
Right, right.
And then you go, the guy was like, don't worry, I'll take care of it.
Yeah.
I'd be like, ugh.
Like, ooh, what do you?
I know.
What do you do?
I know.
I know.
But if that's the point of the, you know, the woman's story that she wrote was to like have people
think like this.
Yeah.
It'd be hell, it'd be crazy weird if the story was written by a man.
I know.
He'd be like, what is this guy doing king shit?
but the the the the yeah it's it's it's a it's a it's a it's a it's a it's a great story i mean i don't know if it's you know
i don't know how well the tv show is but maybe we'll kind of want to read the book maybe we'll kind of
want to stop it and read the book yeah you know what i i agree but i'm not going to do that but
like the first two or three episodes the seasons of that show it's great television because you're
just like is she going to get out of there and all this kind of stuff but then like i say this
Walking Dead. Same shit. Yeah.

Dude we're gonna bring in a guest
He's gonna zoom in with us
His name is Ben Greenfield
and I like, I've always wanted to know about,
he's a biohacker, he's interested in longevity.
Well, this was a journey that he went on that he's talking about.
He has a documentary out right now called Boundless,
the man who became human.
So he had a start where he was like this biohacker
that was doing all this stuff, like, you know,
and then he, you know, then he sort of like found a middle ground
between like, hey, you still got to live your life
while also trying to be, live longer.
So we're going to zoom with them.
We have a lot of, because I always want to know about this stuff.
And I don't know.
I never really talked to somebody about it.
I know, this is great.
So let's watch a trailer now, and then he's going to join us.
And let's watch the trailer.
So, dude, you are an interesting fucking guy.
You do a lot of weird shit.
Thank you, I think.
Yeah.
No, it's good.
Yes.
It's a compliment.
You're almost notorious in the space for being a self-experimentary.
He's not just going to talk about biohacking, but this guy is weird.
Weird?
Wow.
My guest today is Ben Greenfield.
You know what's crazy is right there, he's 80.
A world-class biohacker, an elite coach, a top fitness expert.
An absolute icon of fitness, wellness, and biohacking industry.
My dad, he's always saying that he is a guinea pig.
Like putting stem cells in his brain and stuff.
Crazy stem.
Like, what?
What?
That's wild.
In 2008, he was voted America's fitness trainer of the year.
He's always going to be a driven person.
I think in every,
aspect of his life.
I just love to figure out how to get the most out of the body and brain.
A lot of that does involve these more fringe, edgy, biolacts.
What made you kind of flip in terms of your priority?
What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and it loses his soul?
Hmm.
Interesting.
Yeah, that's exactly what I would want to talk to him about.
That's interesting.
Oh, look at me.
All right.
He's going to hate me.
Who's the fatty not taking care of himself?
What about I was in the sun today, so that's good.
He's already stepping.
Hey, hey, what's up, dude?
Ben Greenfield.
Are you working out while you're doing this with this?
He walks.
Step in, I'm walking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, that's the same thing.
Walking is stepping.
I feel terrible already.
Yeah.
No, aerobics instructor's step.
Oh, no, okay, yeah.
You're not doing step aerobics.
Yeah, that would be hard to.
It'd be great if he was also teaching a class right now.
now. All right, everybody.
How are you, how, how are you, how often are you at least moving?
Like this.
About like 23 hours and 58 minutes of the day.
Well, no, not, not sleeping.
I move a lot.
Yeah.
By the way, I'm getting a little bit of an echo.
Oh, I don't hear it, but.
That's right.
Yeah.
Let me see here.
I'll drop some headphones in.
I do move a lot.
You do.
And the walking treadmill is definitely.
I just, I went for, I walked, I chose walking yesterday.
I was going to drive somewhere.
I go, nope, I walked.
Good for you.
Yeah.
It felt good.
And then I walked this morning.
And I go, I'm biohacking.
You know, walking is.
I don't know if that's biohacking, but.
Yeah.
You went on a little walk.
So now you're like, you know, I went on a walk.
And I walk fast and I went uphill a lot and I go, I'm biohacking.
Ben's a hundred to seven.
Yeah.
I mean, if you give yourself a coffee enema and carry a red light panel on your shoulder, you are, you're biohacking when you're walking.
That's right.
Okay.
Nice.
So, but now you do the red light stuff?
Uh, yeah, I do.
You do, uh, you done a coffee animal.
Have you done a lot of it?
All of it.
You try it?
I mean, we were and you're, you, it was your son in the, in the, um, trailer that was saying that you're the guinea pig?
Yeah, yeah
Pretty much anything that comes down the pipeline
In the whole like
Longevity, anti-aging, biohacking industry
Provided that it fits within my
Moral slash ethical slash safety boundaries
I will try it
Wow
Now I have a question
Was when you say like you're the guinea pig
Is it was there an obsession with like
For you of about the human body
And how far you?
You could take it.
Like, what is the human body possible?
What's possible?
Was that something that you were obsessed with when you started this journey?
Well, some people get into this because they want to live until they're 200 years old.
Right.
Or, you know, solve, you know, find the cure for cancer, whatever.
Right.
I actually came out of from the angle of 15 years of Ironman triathlon, professional obstacle
horse racing, adventure racing, and kind of like the whole world of masochistic endurance.
sports where I was initially attracted to all of this just to figure out how to get the most out of the body from a performance standpoint.
Like just how to go as long as possible.
So that's what got me sucked down the rabbit hole.
And even though I quit racing like four years ago, I still take care of myself from a physical standpoint, but a lot of it's more focused on just like longevity of the body now.
So how much studying did you do you do even now?
about the human body.
Was there like, did you like have a bunch of biology books, a bunch of chemistry?
Like, like, how much studying did you do, you know, are you almost a doctor?
You know what I mean?
A white, a whiteboard with molecules.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm not just drawing them.
I'm inventing them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, he's got new molecules.
Well, my master's degrees in biomechanics and physiology.
Ah, everything in college.
O-chem, microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemistry, physics, you name it.
And then I've had a podcast for 19 years.
twice a week where I'm interviewing people way smarter than me who are scientists,
physicians, physiologists, whatever.
So I've been kind of feeding through the fire hose when it comes to this stuff for like two
decades.
I didn't even know podcasts were out 19 years ago.
So this dude, yeah.
Talk about inventing molecules.
He invented a whole business.
Like code your own RSS feed and submit it to Apple and wait two weeks.
So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Actually, yeah.
So what do you feel now?
Like from when you started to where you are now, like what have you learned or what would you have done differently too?
If you had a time machine, you go back and tell your young self that was starting this process.
What would you have done differently?
Oh, man.
I mean, I mean, it's so much.
I would say a couple of concrete examples and something a little bit more esoteric.
First of all, like I got pretty caught up in the low carb keto movement for a while, meaning like I was.
part of the study on athletes where they spent 12 months feeding one group high carb and one group
low carb and took us all into a lab at University of Connecticut and tested, you know, whether we'd
become fat burning machines, which we had. But there's a lot of damage that kind of occurs to testosterone
and thyroid and your joints when you're carbphobic. So that was one. Another is just like, you know,
I'm walking right now and like we were talking about, I move a lot, but I don't really exercise
hard. Oh, really? Like, there's kind of like a
Goldie Lockstone. And once you get
past like around 150 minutes
of hard exercise a week, yeah.
You actually start to kind of paradoxically
create things like heart damage.
Oh, okay.
You listen? Yeah, I wonder what I'm looking at what I have
here on my, how many,
how much I do. I think, because I... And again,
that's like hard exercise. Yeah, I mean,
I lift weights heavy, really. I don't fucking,
you know what I mean? So,
yeah. And then like
the last thing is, um,
Just the idea that pursuing longevity and a better body and a better brain and this is everything,
this new film that I just released is about, is really unfulfilling at the end of the day,
unless you're prioritizing family and faith and community and a lot of things that I neglected for a long time just in pursuit of, you know, being the fittest person.
That's cool to hear. Are you, is, is what you're doing, just straight up point-blank.
like is it working?
And I mean that in the most general sense.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean,
if we're talking about biologically,
yeah,
I mean,
I'm 44 years old.
I feel and perform
like I did when I was 18.
Oh,
I mean,
like everything's working.
Oh, wow.
Really well.
And, you know,
that's not an excuse
to necessarily like create some four or five hour
elaborate morning routine.
Right, right.
So that you can, you know,
it's kind of paradoxical.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sure.
Right.
Exactly.
and spend all those extra years trying to live longer.
Yeah.
But yeah, I feel really good.
Hmm. Wow.
And you, wow, you feel like you do when you were that young.
I mean, that's amazing.
Because I don't, here's the thing for me.
I was not.
Probably better because I drink less beer.
Right, right, right.
So I don't, I don't, I don't, I was never an athlete.
I've always kind of lifted weights.
I did jujitsu for like five years.
And I did it pretty hard.
But, you know, there's wear and turn a body for that.
But like when I was, now I'm definitely healthier than I've ever been.
I'm eating better.
I sleep better.
I prioritize sleep.
And I feel like great, right?
So I don't have anything to compare it to.
Oh, do I feel like I did when I was in my 20s?
I don't really know because I wasn't doing this shit.
Well, can I say something about that?
I think a lot of old guys love to say this.
Yeah.
They love to say this.
But if your 18 year old self was doing what you're doing right now,
you wouldn't feel like you wouldn't be 44 being like I felt like when I was 18 because you weren't
doing this stuff yeah yeah but if an 18 19 year old was doing this stuff okay there'd be no way you
would feel like that at 44 okay cool right right and there's like metrics that you can tick like
do you wake up and do your joints hurt do you do you have multiple awakenings at night and you're
not getting a solid night to sleep like if you're a man do you still get erections regularly
yeah are you still able to build muscle or at least progress
from a weight training standpoint in the gym.
There's things that you should be able to do.
I mean, guys, research has shown that people can get stronger after the age of 80, right?
And I think a lot of folks kind of settle for the inevitable decline that in many cases we allow to happen earlier that it actually needs to happen.
I feel like you've found a really great balance.
And I feel like, you know, that is from trial and error in comparison to Brian Johnson, who seems to be like,
the crazy guy in your field.
But I feel like he's just a walking experiment that he literally is just trying to see,
can we live longer than like they'll, you know,
examine his body in the end.
But see,
they can,
you know,
to his credit,
he's doing some cool shit.
I think he's trying to dunk a basketball right now.
Yeah,
and he tracks a lot.
And I think his girlfriend now is tracking a lot.
And they are kind of pioneers,
but I would say it's a little bit unrelatable,
at least to me,
Because I'm running multiple companies.
I've got kids.
I've got a wife.
I've got a farm.
But also, dude, different directions.
Not to cut you off, but you look at him.
No, I'm saying, you look at Brian Johnson.
You go, oh, yeah, you say not relatable.
You go, that guy looks like the guy from fucking Star Trek.
You look at you and you go, yeah, that's a guy I would hang out with.
So it's like when you see that, you're a real person doing it.
You know, I go, oh, okay, I believe that.
I wouldn't listen to a fucking word, Brian Johnson said.
I know, but there is something fascinating about all the things that he's trying to do that I think we won't know until the end.
Of course.
Sacrifice to everything.
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
Right?
If you turn yourself into an n equals one and he put a lot of cool shit out there and inform the world, some of that is inevitably going to be applicable to some human beings.
Yeah, of course.
But not everybody's going to spend like five hours a day measuring themselves.
or do a hyperbaric chamber every day for 60 days in a row or whatever.
Like to a certain extent, you have to take bits and pieces of his protocols that have worked
and piece them together into something that that's achievable for the average person.
Okay, well, here's it.
So you talk about, wait, hold a second.
You talk about the average person.
Because one thing I would say about, it seems to be for you, you'd say you run multiple
companies.
The other guy, I mean, you guys are, you know, rich.
So, you know, you're getting on a private jet, you know, you know, you're saying.
I'm just saying like, how does the average person just live in a normal life?
Eric wanted to start.
A longevity protocol.
What would you do right now?
Yeah, do you have like a starter kit for like, you know, like, you know.
Think about this way.
By the way, it's not private jet.
I'm kind of like economy comfort plus.
I got you.
All right.
All right.
That's what I'm right now.
But basically think about this way.
Like, you should stack up as many mild bouts of discomfort as possible throughout the day.
What that means.
is eating a wide variety of plants,
not just like iceberg lettuce and tomatoes,
but trying to work in a lot of different herbs and spices.
Getting hot a few times a week
or preferably even every day.
Sona at the gym, working out with an extra layer on,
whatever.
Cold shower, subjecting yourself to something cold every day,
lifting weights, making your lungs burn,
and getting exposed to sunlight and being outdoors.
I mean, like, if you can start off with those things,
which technically in the exercise science industry
called hormetic stressors, little bouts of discomfort that induce cellular resilience.
You don't need a hyperbaric chamber and a red light bed and electrical mat and all the fancy
devices.
Because at some point when you're in your hyperbolic chamber for 60 days, you go, oh yeah,
but I'm not hanging out with my kids.
You know what I mean?
You go, okay, that's great.
Yeah.
Like what you were saying, you lose your soul.
You're like, okay, I'm doing all of this stuff and living longer.
But I'm with all these fucking hours I've been in my fucking.
hyperbolicane or I've been with nobody.
Yeah. When is you assuming I don't bring my kids inside my hyperbetic?
Is that,
that's where they were born, right?
He just, his whole house is a hyperbogic.
It's like a water birth except an oxygen.
Exactly.
So healthy.
They come out fast underneath the
healthiest oxygen.
They come back negative two, they come out negative two years old.
So Ben, tell me what, what was the moment?
What was the moment that you said, oh, I have to change this?
I was pretty obsessed with this whole world.
Speaking of obsession, and I almost lost my family, my wife and I almost got a divorce.
I realized I wasn't seeing my kids.
I'd gone really pretty distant from Jessa and my wife.
And that was the point at which I kind of realized that I was pursuing or climbing the wrong mountain, right?
The mountain of fitness, you know, business, health, longevity.
All of those things that at the end of the day are kind of finding.
Like we're all going to die.
That doesn't mean that we just give up any deep fried twinkies on the couch,
but it means that you have to balance how much time you're actually spending trying to not die.
Yeah.
Versus fully live.
That's interesting.
Just equip yourself to have a good combination of health.
So, you know, health span and lifespan, so you're able to climb a mountain and snowboard or surf
or throw a football around with your grandkids or whatever.
And that's enough.
Yeah.
And for me, it took almost losing my.
family to realize that all this other stuff doesn't really matter if you're lonely and unhappy
and your relationships are broken and you're not connected to your community and a lot of the
things that I got pretty close to losing. So that's that's interesting that because now you made
that a part of your life and then you were then uncomfortable not doing those things to be with your
family and then you found the balance. Well you don't hear about that shit. You only hear about right now
it's still like the thing that's the new thing where it's like oh biohacking do it all and you don't
it's like you don't hear about guys like this yet i'm in this industry right like i travel all the
shows and speak on all the stages and there's a lot of unhappy people who look like they're fully
optimized right they got like skin and the biohacks and then like the VO2 max and all this stuff
but like whatever they're they're divorced and estranged from their family and they don't have strong
community ties and you know kind of an absent faith practice yeah yeah yeah yeah there's a lot of stuff
that just like doesn't matter as much
if you're messing out on the importance.
And at some point they're just running from their lives
to make it longer, which is hilarious.
Yeah, so I know we got, we don't have you from much longer.
Wait, where are they?
Oh, yeah, I had a question.
Nick has a question.
Producer in the back here.
You mentioned that you'll do anything that falls within your moral code,
kind of.
Is there anything in the longevity space that's becoming like more common
that you, that you don't think so?
I don't know, stem cells.
or I don't know.
Yeah.
You know, right now, there are certain things that I think are myths that, when it comes
to moral questioning, like, you know, a lot of people think like stem cells come from
aborted babies.
Yeah, poor example.
Sorry.
That's not the case.
You know, you could certainly make a case.
So this is going to get super controversial guys.
I don't want to get you canceled.
But like, you could make a case that, like, there's a lot of research that's been done on
vaccinations on aborted fetal stem cell lines.
Right.
So that's an entirely different topic.
Or that like when people are getting human blood or human plasma,
that there's like some kind of a blood boy chain to a wall somewhere.
Right, right.
You know, they're taking the plasma out to put into your body when in fact it's just like healthy,
you know, paid human donors.
Right.
So there's not a lot out there that is really pushing the boundaries from a moral or ethic standpoint.
I think more specifically it's like how much time.
are you taking away from family?
How much time are you spending selfishly pursuing longevity
versus being with your friends?
Versus, you know, some kind of, you know,
some kind of like an Epstein island.
It's so funny.
It's happening in the longevity industry.
We're almost disappointed.
Which I'm not aware of. It's talked about behind the scenes,
but I don't think it's happening.
That's what people talk about when I'm like,
people are like, oh yeah, Hollywood, it's all Illuminati.
I'm like, man, I would have gotten some kind of whiff of it.
I never heard anything.
But yeah, I hear you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, what would be your club?
It's like, you know, a lot of these, you know, these things that people are saying
are happening like, you know, harvesting blood from children or whatever.
It's like.
Not on your radar at all.
Yeah.
There are ways that you can get the type of things that you get from the blood of children a lot easier than, uh, than, you know,
than actual children.
Yeah, yeah, got it, got, got it.
So I know, man, listen.
Like, what would be your like, overall message for people that are,
seeing you for the first time just about about fitness about health about longevity and family and
faith and all this because i feel like i really appreciate this balance that you have of how you're
talking about this because i think that's i think that's the most important thing for like a person
like myself you know you try i'm trying to get fit i'm 54 and i'm trying to like you know and i see
what you're doing and i think that this is a great message for people so for our audience like what
would you say to those you know people out there about how can you do this yeah equip yourself to
to be resilient, be hard to kill, be strong, but don't let your identity be tied up in how you look in the mirror
or what you're, you know, predicted biological age of 120 or 150 or 175 or whatever is.
Instead, do what you're doing from a self-care standpoint, not in a desperate act of self-preservation,
but because you want to equip yourself to deliver to the world, whatever it is that you've been called to deliver.
in as impactful a body as possible.
And so it's basically taking care of yourself
so you can take care of other people
and be who God has called you to be,
not taking care of yourself
because you're just trying to last as long as possible
until the game over, maybe.
Right, right, right.
That's really interesting.
That's the message right here, man.
I think you're doing God's work.
Well, I'm excited to see Boundless.
Tell us about the movie.
When's it coming? Is it out?
Oh, it's available now on Apple TV and Amazon,
the man who became human, okay.
Yeah, like it came out today.
Oh, great.
Good for you. Oh, good for you. Yeah. So everyone
check it out and I want to, I definitely want to watch
that. Yeah, man. This is, uh, well, you know, we want to thank you
for, uh, being on the show. Yeah. Thanks, dude.
Keep cool. Thanks, guys. Keep walking, bro. Keep on keeping on.
Appreciate you, bro. Yeah, but.
All right. See you guys. I got to get up and walk now. You do.
That was cool, man. That's interesting. That guy sounds, seems like a good dude. I
like that all that stuff. Yeah. I mean, I just, I feel like, you know,
there's like um we don't need this anymore no i guess not yeah yeah i feel like the other guy you know
there's something fascinating about being uh like just a complete experiment sure yeah i mean he's doing
some good no i don't know if it's what i'm saying is i don't know if it's good or bad but like you know
if if if what he's doing he's sacrificed his life his happiness to discover something that may
help humanity along the way.
I don't think we'll appreciate that till later.
Yeah, no, we won't. Yeah. He won't be able to appreciate it.
He won't be able to appreciate it. But we might benefit
from this experiment and that's why he
seems a little crazy. Right. But this guy,
this guy, Ben is like a real
grounded dude that I think went through
some things and got to this place.
And I think that's admirable and that's something
to admire and try to aspire to.
That's cool. I just wanted to talk to a guy who does that. I don't know
anybody who does that really all that stuff i mean he doesn't he's done a lot of it so well the thing about
it too is like i honestly do think you know like you're you're not poor doing this
like you know but it's not what are you supposed to do like how much is a hyperbolic chamber
well yeah but you don't have to do all that no no i understand yeah but the ones i i would venture
to say that the people that are doing that they're not their credit cards aren't maxed out to
do it you know right right right right
You know, I mean, it's like, it's amazing that, like, if you really want to work out,
that you could just throw on a YouTube thing about, you know, those body workouts,
and they're pretty intense.
But, you know, people think, well, I got to get a gym membership.
No, no, no, no, no.
Frick move.
Yeah, you know.
And so.
It's hyperbaric chamber.
Whatever.
I know.
Oh, yeah.
Eric just kind of says a lot of stuff wrong.
You got to set it a bunch on that interview.
Oh, I did.
Oh, sorry.
Did I?
Oh, yeah, you did.
Yeah, you piece of shit.
I don't care.
I'll never use it.
Right now, cut that in right now, him saying it.
No, I'm sure I said,
idiot he is.
Hyperbaric chamber.
No, you didn't.
It should be bollic, dude.
Hyperbolic's like hyperbole.
Yeah.
So it's not even really a chamber.
Yeah.
It should be a chamber.
Yeah.
Like when we said that he had to look on his face like,
oh, these guys are idiots.
God, no wonder they look like that.
But yeah, okay.
Well, that's interesting, dude.
Well, that was good.
Wow.
Look at us.
Yeah, we're really hard-hitting.
You're really hard-hit.
You know, we're really hard hitting.
We do good, you know.
Can you not yawn when you say that?
Yeah.
And I'm going to be in Alpharetta, Atlanta this weekend,
and next weekend, Buffalo, dude.
So talk about...
I'll be in New York, the stand on October 1st.
Biohacking, dude, being uncomfortable.
You know what I mean?
I'm going to be in Buffalo, New York.
That was interesting what he was saying about.
But that's the whole thing about working out.
You're uncomfortable.
Yeah.
It's like, you don't feel good.
after. Yeah, it is weird that, but I know, I think about that because I'm like, I, it does
make you feel very good. Like, even just going on that walk today, I went on a fast walk for like,
I'm over a mile and a half. And like, it was good. It was uphill and afterwards I felt fucking
great. Yeah, that's from saying. It's always after. I know, I know. But, but it's also good to,
like, I wasn't on my phone. I was out of my head. You know what I mean? Like, that felt nice. You know what's
crazy about like how the opposite of that is like so when you do something like say drink or take
drugs you feel good in the moment and then you're just terrible after you know you know but then
it's amazing how people don't want to make that flip you know you can also guys go to erogryphin
dot com you go to my I got a new store I got my merch is coming in at the top there do it yeah
yeah you go to my my store oh shit yeah and I got some hoodies like you know what I mean
More stuff's coming, but this is like my new store.
Oh, cool.
Front and back on those shirts.
We got my singing mic shirt with some woo-wooes on the back.
Oh, word?
Yeah, so go to the Eric Griffin.com and I got more stuff coming.
All right.
Well, and I'm going to be in, dude, I got so many fucking gigs in Europe.
Like, who am I?
Am I Jason born, dude?
No, I am a little bit.
Not even the same.
I'm going to be not knowing even who I am by the end of this.
I'm going to go like, oh, man.
I would say more like a.
a stewardess
that travels a lot.
That's a female, the way you said it.
It's steward.
At least say flight attendant, bro.
You're a steward,
you know?
I never liked how that was
that steward was that close to the name.
Yeah, you're more like a flight maid
than a...
Flight maid's tail?
Than a...
Oh my God.
If handmade's tail was on a plane,
it would be like snow plincers.
It's no piercer.
It's no pin, it's not pincer.
Piercer.
Have you seen that movie?
Yeah, man.
So weird.
It was good, and then I saw it again, and I'm like, this wasn't good.
I don't know what happened to me.
You got older.
Yeah, maybe.
All right, are we good?
Yep.
All right, cool.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Appreciate you.
