The Golden Hour - Ricky Martin’s Dope | The Golden Hour #160 AD FREE w/Erik Griffin & Chris D'Elia

Episode Date: November 28, 2025

The guys talk about growing up on shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, what those kinds of sitcoms meant to different audiences, and how that ties into their friendship and the tone of the... podcast. They also get into the whole heat-versus-cold debate, comparing Texas summers to frigid winters and admitting they are basically “inside people” who care more about a cozy house than a big yard. They also discuss Austin versus Los Angeles as comedy cities, breaking down why LA can be brutal for new comics, what the Austin scene looks like now with spots like the Mothership, Creek and the Cave, and Helium, and how hard it can be to break into those rooms. On top of that, they talk about what it would really mean to move their families, where they could realistically see themselves living, and how different that choice feels once you are already established in comedy. We're friends that laugh, we're friends that shout, sometimes we don't know what we're talking about, but that won't stop us. Nothing can stop us. Ooh, yeah. Because I can show you used to love,
Starting point is 00:00:50 just rebranded enough. It's stronger, better, bigger power, because it is a golden hour. First of all, the hot thing is a real thing. Austin, yeah. I think extreme weather for an extended period of time anywhere is just a lot. You know, and that heat in Texas is something else. That doesn't bother.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I could deal with that. You could deal with the heat. It's annoying, I understand, but I could deal with that. Like, to me, it's not like being in the frigid cold. Right. That I couldn't deal with. I that would that would mentally drive me crazy well that's what I'm saying that's a that's example I'm saying of extreme weather right yeah I get it but I could deal with the heat you're
Starting point is 00:01:37 saying heat over cold oh absolutely huh interesting yeah like I would like I could live in Phoenix oh I know no I know I know freaking way it doesn't bother me you just go inside if you want and I love the sun okay we'll see I know it doesn't look like it my my alabaster skin but you're inside you're inside person okay Rachel and I are also inside people that's why like the particular a house we got, there were other houses in the neighborhood that had way bigger yards and I was like, I don't care about this because we're not. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:05 You know, we're like inside people. So, okay, but I can't stand the hot or the cold. Yeah. Well, L.A., I mean, California weather's great, but yeah. But then the thing is that when I go to, this is what I'm saying, sometimes you go to a city, you're playing a city.
Starting point is 00:02:21 And then when you go out of the hotel, you want to see like what kind of neighborhood and stuff like this? I'm never impressed with it. yeah yeah yeah got you yeah no that to me that's like the most important yeah but i mean but again i'm just there to do shows yeah you're talking about the neighborhoods are great fine i understand that but i i'm saying as a city yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i agree and i don't i yeah i don't know though i i i sometimes disagree with most like people love austin and or at least they say they do and i
Starting point is 00:02:51 i go and that's how i feel i'm like this city is like a little bit i don't know it's like you don't you get stabbed there and stuff and and don't they get take your money like in your out of your pocket there yeah i don't know i don't know but i'm just like it's it's uh that's the same way people talk about l.a though and we're here and that is true that is true but i don't you know i don't really live in l.a you know so so you know and i understand these people who are in austin they don't live in austin austin unless you know the i see these 25 year old dudes post my algorithm is soaked with dudes that are like 24 and they go like typical day in Austin for me and then they show the whole day and they do nothing I love it dude I love it
Starting point is 00:03:36 it's so funny it's just like got to eat got to go jump in the pool it's like well I would say like those kids are those guys getting stabbed I hope well the people that are like all into like the Austin comedy scene whatever that is is like I get the idea of living living in Texas and wanting to do comedy. For sure. Because you're now the flight to New York and Chicago and even coming to L.A. It's a lot, you know, you know, like if you were, if you were going to say, hey, I want to start doing comedy, where do I go?
Starting point is 00:04:08 I wouldn't, L.A. would be the last on the list, I would say. Oh, yeah? Oh, hell yeah. I don't know why people come here to do comedy. First of all, just think about the, the rigors of getting into some of the places. Yeah, I guess you're right. You know what I mean? Like, you know, it's like I working as when it comes to working on your.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Yeah. Dude, last night I met at the laugh factory. And this like comic, just, just a female comic. I'm sitting there talking with Dwayne Parkins. I'm sure she was doing well. And this female comic could no, she comes over to us and she's like, is the booker here? You've seen the booker? Because, you know, I've been banned from here for a few years.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Oh, then she obviously does well. She goes, I'm just back. And just the way she was taught, I got to talk to the booker. And I was like, ugh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just like that, like just having to go through that, imagine you just starting and you're like having to deal with stuff like that. What I'm saying is L.A. is not a friendly place to newcomers.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah. You know, it's just not. Yeah, but neither would. But Austin wouldn't be that way. Oh, that's what I'm trying, but I'm trying to say the thing about Austin would be the location. But I don't know how it is in terms of like, like if the main spot is the mothership, that is probably harder to get into. At this point, in any place, you know, but they have a, but there's a big comedy scene now.
Starting point is 00:05:27 There's other squeak in the cave. Right, right. Yeah, that's good. Red band's got a club. And then there's like, there's like three or four other places that are opening up because they're like, wow, comedy's a thing. And they got that. What's that other club? The helium's there now and like, you know.
Starting point is 00:05:39 So there's a lot of stuff there. But, but in terms of like, you know. But then like if you just want to go for like what other kind of career are you trying to do, I don't know. Like, how's Chin doing in Austin? Is he thriving in Austin? I don't know. yeah but that's another reason too like like where would you go where would you be like Kristen let's get the kids we're gonna move to boom where would that be where where we are
Starting point is 00:06:03 I don't know where we would go what I'm saying I don't you know well it's also different now that I'm established like if you're coming up it's different than when you're stuck you know I mean but you can move anywhere now that's what I'm saying so but what I'm saying there isn't a spot there isn't a place you visited in the country and you were like you know what I really like this Because I've been to a few places like that, some places that I wouldn't even think, like, you know, in Iowa or someplace and I'm like walking out the club in this beautiful little town. And I'm like, wow. Yeah, but that's your, that's just your first impression. Every time I get home, I'm just like, oh, right, right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:36 You know, I mean, even when I was in Europe, I was there for three weeks and I was just around and I was like, this is pretty cool. And, you know, because there's so much shit's going on in America and you hear people complaining about it so much. you're like, all right, let me see what's up. And you go out there and then you're like, all right, this is cool. And then you get back to America and you're like, hell yeah, brother. Everyplace else is yogurt. Hell yeah, brother. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:07:04 No, no, you think everybody complains about the United States until you go someplace else and you see all the nonsense that they're dealing with. I mean, that's what the thing too is like, oh, this stuff that's happening here? It happens every. No, I know, I know. On a weird level, it happens everywhere. Only, you. Well, dude, I've, listen, even like, look, I love Santa Carita.
Starting point is 00:07:19 it's great but you know sometimes I'm like damn there's no no boo or right right right you know like we went to go shoe shopping for wolf and it was like we had to go to Nordstrom's rack you know and I had to hear about it from Rachel the whole time this isn't Nordstrom's this is Norstrom's rack
Starting point is 00:07:37 you know and I'm like okay right right yeah yeah I don't know I really like where I live but that has stuff like that yeah but you're out you're out I'm out there but it has nice like you know we have a couple of them yeah yeah yeah but it's still yeah I know it's not it's not L.A yeah it's not L.A but I mean it's like I realize now that you move to the suburbs because for a couple of reasons the fake reasons are the school system well yeah but it's
Starting point is 00:08:03 awesome I mean I get it I get it but still those are the fake reasons it's like you say you set some things you tell yourself the school system it's safe you move to the suburbs because you can't afford where you really want to live most people I guess and you want to but you want it to look like right right right right right you're right right right so like like I was in Brentwood one day and I saw I passed by one of those realtor places you know and I looked and I was looking oh let me see and I saw a house with the same number of bedrooms right right right same square footage right and it was $8 million so I was like damn that's crazy I was like wow this is like so that location
Starting point is 00:08:48 indifference is i can't even imagine what i could get from for what i pay for my house i can't imagine what i could get like in like you know salt lake city or something like i just can't even imagine a glacial estate people got men carry me yeah everywhere i don't even work out just get fat i'm like the guy from uh dune um oh man our decorations and you know what that reminds us happy thanksgiving happy thanksgiving happy thanksgiving what do you thankful for this year i'm thankful for uh You know, hmm, I didn't think about it yet. I'm thankful for my family. I'm thankful for you guys.
Starting point is 00:09:24 I'm thankful for this podcast. I'm thankful for... I say it with a little bit more. Well, no, it's that level. And I'm thankful for, you know, my health, you know? Frick. And like, I went to Corviva to get this body scan. I'm healthy, bro.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Why you... Well, I just... Nobody was saying that. We didn't have a bet down. He's going to come back from Corviva. No. And we're going to find out that he has such and such. No cancer.
Starting point is 00:09:57 No aneurisms. Okay, nice. Cardilage is good. My joint age. How that gonorrhea, though? No, they wouldn't be able to see that. For I asked specifically about that. Do I have gonorrhea, though?
Starting point is 00:10:10 And he's a god. No. But the body score at the end, they get a body score. And I don't mean, obviously I'm a 10. But what I'm saying is, looks wise, but they don't. don't do looks wise. They go internal. And so what they say is... Internally, you're a 10? No, internally. Internally, you're a dime, the doc said. That internal nose skin was like... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So we need an extra MRI for your nose.
Starting point is 00:10:35 No, but they, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, Cerviva's great. It's in Newport. You could go. You said the machine. Yeah. Yeah. If you're a rich person, go get this checked out in Newport. It's great. It lets you know. If you have cancer, it lets you know if you're going to have an aneurysm, it lets you know if there's any abnormalities. And I, I, you know, my joint age is 40. I'm 45, my joint age is 40. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:00 And my brain age is 45, which I think probably is good. Because I, you know, if I was, if your brain age was like, if they were like, your brain age is 16, you'd be like, oh, am I an idiot? But I'm 40, 45 brain age. I think if you scan any, less than 35. Yeah. it's probably 12 to 50 yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah uh you just you hit the yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm I'm I'm healthy which is you know you get nervous bro you're in there I was in that MRI for an hour
Starting point is 00:11:31 an hour an hour because I'm tall you would too because if you're 60 it's been in your height because I got your whole body oh god but it's cool it's kind of chill you know you just chill you know so Wimbenami would just be in there like for fuck it oh yeah yeah yeah that's five guys he'd still be in there They have to put an extra chair to keep him up. No, it's, but it, they, you know, and it's cool. You get to watch Netflix when you do it. Like, they just, oh, wow. They made it, what do you call it?
Starting point is 00:11:56 They have, they put, they were like, what do you want to watch? And I was like, oh, I'll watch a TV show, put on this. I'm on episode five of this. And I was like, no, wait a minute, put on like Animal Planet. That'll be good because it would be like kind of, you know, I don't know how this is going to be, whatever. And he's like, oh, great. I get in there. It's the episodes of like chimps eating each other and battling for good.
Starting point is 00:12:19 And I'm just like, and then I'm right, tak, tak, tak, tak, tak, tak, tak, tak, tak, tak. And they're just like, rah, rah, rah. He's like, his whole family wiped out by the gym. I'm like, oh, my God, dude. So, but I'm healthy. Thank you. So what I'm thankful for. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And I'm thankful to Corviva for helping me out and figuring it out. Can we get back to that for a second? Yeah, yeah. You know what? I'm thankful for all the Golden Hour fans that have been here for a long. time. Thanks for sticking around. Yeah, we're still doing it and we're doing it because of you. Yes, we are. You know, and of course, all the regular things, family and all that shit, but, you know. Let's take a little break from chatting with the boys out there in NoHo. That's North Hollywood.

Starting point is 00:14:15 I was thinking about podcasting and how there are, you know, how there's like so many. And comedians, it just, it's very obvious that comedians should have podcasts.
Starting point is 00:14:33 You know what I mean? I don't know. Okay, so yeah. This is why, but, but what I'm saying is, this is why I'm opening up this conversation. because I know what you're saying and I also feel that way but when podcasting started
Starting point is 00:14:50 like I was one of the first well I don't know if I was one of the first guys but I mean you know you take Rogan he's one of the first guys but like you know me and Theo and I was with the 10 minute podcast oh that's true actually yeah yeah yeah yeah you get back yeah I guess I was one of the first guys so like doing it was such a thing that I kept telling comedians like I remember telling Santino and being like you're you're being a fucking idiot get a podcast i tell you this shit you know and um and it's like you know you you know you have to and now if i mean if you don't have a podcast you're already kind of successful like there's no right like like tony hinskut doesn't have a podcast right well that kill tony that is a podcast
Starting point is 00:15:34 will be considered a podcast but like if you're sebastian right yes but he's been done one he does I'm about to say he has a very successful podcast. Does he? Yeah. I know he has one. You wouldn't even know. Yeah. He's got a podcast.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Yeah. Hey. You can sell out four arenas in a... Yeah, but that's not because of his podcast. Well, I'm what I'm saying though. That's because he's like, what's with the doors on the hotels? Which is fucking hilarious. You got to do it like that.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Dude, he's from SNL. Yeah. Oh, that's funny. He sent me a video the other day, Sebastian. And he, he texted me and he was like, what the hell? How is this? And I don't know where he was playing, but it,
Starting point is 00:16:15 I obviously, I played there before because he was showing me a picture of me with, dude, it was this headshot I get, or I don't even know what picture was that I used to use.
Starting point is 00:16:24 And he was, and he was, what do he say, he said, you look like a matinee idol. Dude, it was the word, it was this picture I used to use. I look at Kenny Loggins, bro. I know what picture it is.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Yes, you do, yeah. I stand corrected. He's killing it. Yeah. Oh, really? Yeah. That's why I was like, let's see what like what like uh 500 400 40 000 wow a lot of these are clips within the
Starting point is 00:16:48 episode yeah yeah 171 yeah you know you don't you don't that's what i'm trying to say you don't sell out arenas of you know yeah he was i remember he was telling me he was asking me about this one time just about like you know you know uh the amount of money or where people make and stuff he was you know and i asked him i said well you doing this amount he was like oh yeah we do way over that. Then I'm like, then I think you're successful. Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? But it's like he's at a level now where he's making so much money doing stand-up. Yeah, you don't know about it. That nothing in Hollywood could compare to this unless he was like the producer of something. I don't know why these guys, like when I see guys doing movies,
Starting point is 00:17:27 like I see like Theo or like Shane Gillis or like Drewski. I'm like, what are you doing? Because that's why you got into this. But, but yeah, but. No, because I'm speaking even for myself. Yeah, but it's different. I wanted to, no, no, I wanted to get, I wanted to be an actor. The problem now is that become, is like the business of comedy has turned into a thing where it has nothing to do with that. Look, I come from an era where I was like, I saw someone like Eddie Murphy, you know, he was doing stand up, and then he got on a television show, and then he became a movie star,
Starting point is 00:18:01 and that's what everybody wanted to do. I understand. You know, Chris Tucker was like, he had that thing. He did, he did his buddy cop movie. And then, you know, then he was, he became a big star. movie star it's like that that's what you saw you saw you you did stand up to get on TV now stand up has become a thing where like it's legit rock star status it's equivalent now you know it's not a it's not a pass through thing and then the business around it people are making
Starting point is 00:18:27 the kind of money where it's like wow but so then if you want to be an actor it's about it's about the love of the game you know yeah look I booked this movie that like and I went through the process and what I'm telling you it's different though it's not different man it is though because you're doing something that you're passionate about you're like oh this is very cool like i'm get i get to work with this guy i get to do these this role i get to you know think about it and and i know but i think those people you're talking about they also wanted to be an actor too it's just that they blew up to the point where it's like man it's like it's hard to like you know look look i listen matt rife is doing a a Netflix television series yeah okay
Starting point is 00:19:07 because he wants to be an actor but that's different No, it's not because he lost, because he had to cancel three million dollars worth of arena gigs to do this show. I understand. So what I'm saying, it's not always about like. I guess what I'm saying is, what are you saying? Yeah, well, you keep talking. But what I, what I'm saying is, because I'm trying to figure out. Like, remember that?
Starting point is 00:19:33 I don't know what it was. I don't even know how it came about, but there was like some movie that Bobby and Theo did like about baseball. I don't even. Yeah. And it's like, did it come out or not? And it's like, I guess it was a comedy or something. It was like Johnny Knoxville's Sweet Dreams. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Did that come out? Yes. Okay. So that's fine. And if you wanted to do that, great. Is Theo in it? Yeah. But to me, that's just like another version.
Starting point is 00:20:03 It's like stand up is the best version of you and your brand. to do this is a lesser version of that to do what Matt's doing in a drama or what you're doing in an independent movie it's just different to me
Starting point is 00:20:22 it's different to me if I'm going to be in if I'm going to be like why the fuck do I want to be the fourth lead in a Jason Bateman comedy for what well that's you
Starting point is 00:20:32 that's never been your passion so that's the thing no I'm saying no this is This is how you've always been. By the way, I love Jason Bateman and fucking his drama stuff. No, I'm saying this isn't your passion. Even when you were doing those shows, it's not what you wanted to do. Not true, I guess you're right.
Starting point is 00:20:48 You know, so this is what I'm saying is, so what the business of comedy has provided for, it's someone that is just purely likes being funny and silly and, like, connecting with people like you do with your weird OCD and all you're like, you know, you're a very independent guy. This is perfect for you. Right. And look what you've done. You've thrived in it. But there are other people that, like, really enjoy the written word and wants to bring this a lot. I guess.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Like, I think of Kumal, who's, I think Kumel to me is my, I think he's my favorite comedic actor. I think that that dude is so funny in stuff, right? And he just kind of stopped doing stand-up. I mean, I know he does a tour every now and then, and he, like, had maybe a special or something. Special come out in December, night thoughts, Hulu. Yeah, but you stop doing stand. Next to the number one Kumel fan. You stop doing stand-up because, one, you're not very good at it.
Starting point is 00:21:43 But he was good. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. He was. You stopped doing stand-up because it's like the effort that it takes to be in that game. Yeah, that's true. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:21:54 So then what happens is you get famous and you can bypass all that. And Hulu goes, hey, let's give this guy special because he's whatever. Yes, I get that. But if he was just doing stand-up, I know, I know. I don't know if that would be a thing. But it's like, it doesn't matter because what I'm saying is the business of stand-up has now become that. So places like Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and this kind of stuff, they don't care about the art form. They just care about the algorithm.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Yeah, sure, yeah. Man, I was thinking about this. You know? Because you drove by, somebody sent me a picture of, I don't even know why, but it was a, what's that one house of dynamite you saw it? So it's on Netflix. And on the thing it goes, it says, on the billboard it says, the best movie of the year. on the Netflix billboard on Sunset Boulevard and I watched that movie when it first came out
Starting point is 00:22:42 like a month ago, a month and a half ago and I was like, oh, okay, cool, kept my attention like, you know, interesting. And when they sent me a picture of Billboard, I go like this, oh yeah, that exists. You know what I mean? That movie exists. And it is so crazy how you just don't think,
Starting point is 00:23:03 like these movies are forgettable, bro. I don't know if they're necessarily forgettable or for just inundated with so much energy. Well, yeah, but that could be one of the reasons why. But it's just like, dude, you see these movies and you even go like, honestly, Frankenstein was really impressive. It was great. It was beautifully shot. Didn't think about it until you just said it right now.
Starting point is 00:23:25 Yeah. Sure. But so, but that's what I'm saying. Like, could you imagine like in, you know, 1998, if I was like, if I started talking about movies, we'd all start to get at Frankenstein because we're like, oh yeah, that movie was great it just came out and here and I know it's because we're inundated with movies now
Starting point is 00:23:41 and every fucking, you know, but it's just like crazy these. But okay, let me push back on what you're saying. Okay, I might get pissed off. I'm just saying. I think there's a lot of, fair warning. I think there's a lot of really great stuff and because of the nature of like how things are streamed and you have to
Starting point is 00:23:56 move on to the next. Yeah. Sometimes you just miss it. Yeah. Or you because I just watched, there's this show on Netflix. right now called The Beast in Me. Saw it. Well, no, I'm a halfway through it.
Starting point is 00:24:08 And I'll tell you right now, man, Claire Danes. She's great. That chick is, she's a phenomenal. That first episode, the banter and stuff that they were having, I was like, God damn, this is great acting. She's great. That show, I'm halfway through it. People are telling me that they love it. I like it.
Starting point is 00:24:26 It's good. Yeah, but there's something in you that, like if you, like if I took you to the North Pole and put you in a room with Netflix, I guarantee you you would leave that room and you would like everything that everyone else likes. But because you're in society
Starting point is 00:24:45 and you see a movie and then you always say the same thing. This is one of these movies that everybody likes. And so you tell yourself in your brain, I can't like it. He doesn't know the real me. No, he's almost there,
Starting point is 00:24:59 but he's not quite there. Wait, wait, they're calling me right now too. Yeah, I know I know him. No, no, no. Yeah. he thinks nobody knows him, but he does this all the time. No, no, no, no, there are a lot of people do know me, but Eric is one of those guys that doesn't know my true self.
Starting point is 00:25:10 I'm talking to them right now. Chris, we know him and we know how he is. Oh, yeah, that's okay. I didn't mind being on hold. What were you saying? Oh, you were just lying to someone? Okay, cool. I'll see you later.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Oh, did you make him feel good about himself again? Oh, great. Dude, I, I, no, because that's not true because I really liked Black Rabbit. Everyone loves that one. I really liked, oh, by the way, I just saw, and I know I'm late, because this came out in 2016. But did you ever see The Night of on HBO with John Totoro and, um... Maybe.
Starting point is 00:25:44 No. This thing is top tier. Cut to a clip of a podcast and being like, I'm not going to watch Night of. Everybody's talking about it, so I don't want to watch it. This is a top... I'll tell you why the reason I saw it, because I tried to watch that show Ripley, in black and white on Netflix. and it's so it's a snooze fest and my brother told me that
Starting point is 00:26:07 oh well you can't the reason why no but the reason why that Ripley even exists because this guy made night of and it was carte blanche like he got complex to do whatever he wanted he's like I want to do Ripley and black and white because this was very critically acclaimed and won some amies and stuff man this fucking show is
Starting point is 00:26:24 so well done dude you just go you know what you do you go after each episode you do the Antonio Banderas closed on the laptop and just you know that jiff pull it up there well it is just what do you what we call John Taturro is so good in this and that Riz Ahmed Riz Ahmed you know there oh yeah I saw this bro this kid is great in this he goes to prison yeah yeah this was great that's me after every episode oh yeah that was great you just
Starting point is 00:26:56 watched I know I know it's always been on my list but yes my god my god that's what I forgot about it which is to my point yeah I know yeah the lady who plays the DA the fucking oh man it's just so good dude and I'm glad they only made one season of that I was thinking about that last night I'm glad because you know what was a great
Starting point is 00:27:13 one season thing and they ruined it with a second season was I think it's called Your Honor or Four Honor you know one with the Blakeman Yeah I didn't see it Oh you didn't see that? Oh you got to watch the first season in 10 years first season is great Yeah
Starting point is 00:27:30 okay I heard it's great but I'm saying like I really like this the beast in me I like yeah it's good it's watchable and fun but it's just not at that level where I'm like gotta see the next one gotta see what's going on yeah it wasn't to me I don't know why well anyways the point is that's the kind of series
Starting point is 00:27:46 though that you know you're skimming through Netflix and you might just miss it right you know and then you're just kind of like oh okay catch it later you might be like oh what's this I think Joe Coy is a good example of what you're trying to think of earlier someone who's just stand up first he did his movie with stephen spielberg but he wrote and directed it so why wouldn't you do
Starting point is 00:28:04 that uh yeah if you wanted to exactly what sebastian did it too with his uh about my father movie or whatever the hell it was called with deniro like why he's also but he's also on a HBO series to me that's so weird it's again i think that you have to remember that i haven't never seen it i'm not saying it's good or bad i'm just saying that's pretty good it's called uh bookie bookie or something like that whatever um um i'm saying it's it's It's a pay, like again, I can't remember him saying like, he tried to do this sitcom and he was like, just a pay cut if I, well, yeah, you know, but again,
Starting point is 00:28:39 but again, if that's your focus, I just think that it's the stand-up comedy and I count podcasting in with that has become so lucrative for people that it's like, okay, but again, you have to remember that, you know, a lot of people's passions were to be a performer. Being a stand-of-comic is being a performer. You're acting. It's like, there's a, you're seen part. partner is the crowd and you're that's part of what you do and some people just are just self-centered like
Starting point is 00:29:04 it's like I just wanted all to be about me they're they don't work well with others yeah well I think I get but what I'm saying is there's nothing wrong with that but I don't think you should look at it and be like I don't know why people want to be in a television show I mean I just think that's but isn't it about I guess yeah I guess yeah they have different goals I just to me you know what it is to me it's such a weird thing to start doing stand up if you don't just want to do it so bad and that's the pinnacle. Do you know what I'm saying? I totally agree with you. It's such a weird thing to start to try and do something else. Well my thing would be and that's how I thought about doing podcasts. That's how I thought about. I was like and I realized like the marketing and the business
Starting point is 00:29:51 of comedy is so sometimes just like I'm disenchanted with it. You know, but I love to doing stand-up. I love doing stand-up. I'm great at doing stand-up. But, like, that doesn't mean people are going to come. You know what I always say. Yeah, I know. You have parties in the building. No, no, I'm 4,000 miles. It's annoying, dude. I say it because it annoys you. I know, I know. I know. No, listen, so there's people that feel like that too. Like, why do you want to do other stuff? But it's like, look, listen, see, this is your thing. I'm going to, hold on a second. Yeah, I'm about to tell him right now. Oh, God. He's going to lie. He's going to be wrong. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Hold on. Did he just talk to you? No. No, your thing is, if someone called right now was like, hey, we got this sitcom, you're going to be the fourth lead in the Jason Bateman show, you're going to say, I don't want to do that. Yeah. Or maybe you will say, right now you might say, okay, yeah, this is a way in.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Yeah, yeah, maybe, maybe. Maybe, maybe. But what I'm saying is this, your thing would be, what would be better? Your brother comes to you and says, man, I wrote this thing. produce this with me let's create this then you're on board because it's about this whole creative process
Starting point is 00:31:05 and I think but and I think the people you're talking about that's what they're doing Shane Gillis made tires yeah yeah yeah true that's his show that he could put his boys in and he could do that so what I'm saying is when you get to that level where you're now
Starting point is 00:31:20 when the credits come it says starring Sebastian Metascalko produced by executive You're producing, that's the level that they're on right now because they still want to do that stuff. Gotcha. You know what I mean? Yeah. Because it does suck for certain people, you know?
Starting point is 00:31:35 Like, I hear, like, I hear Matt talking about it. Like, you know, it's just like, oh, man, he did an episode of something. And he's like, man, I'm sitting here all day and blah, blah, blah. And it's like. Oh, it's boring. Yeah. So I just go, oh, I get it because you're not, you're not like invested in it in a way that this is like, if it succeeds, you feel great about it. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:31:52 You know what I mean? So I get that. We're all a different, like, you know, but again. Listen, I'm doing a project right now That I fucking love Yeah That's cool I mean And so I just
Starting point is 00:32:03 It'll be out on red tube And you know it's probably You know what though No I'm red tube is a porn thing You never know Hey You know So it's just a kind of thing

I was watching, I like real time with Belmar. And this woman was on there. She wrote this book and I started reading it because she intrigued me.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Her whole thing is just about like, as she calls it, let them. So like you can't change people's feelings. You can't make, you can't, you can't, like, you know, and what you do is you just go, all right, feel the way you feel and you just move on with yourself, you know? And then like, sometimes if you're in conversations that, like, you know, you don't like what's happening. You just got to move on. You go, oh, you guys feel this way. And I was like, you know what? I'm taking it on. Because, like, I can't, like, you know, things bug me. Like, for instance, like the Mark Amerian stuff. I didn't like that for my friends or him. But you know what? I can't change his mind. And who cares? I think about all the haters and like the, you know, the people. And I'm like, all right, you know what? Do you. But what I'm going to do is like, I'm going to control my happiness. And the way you can control your happiness is you just remove yourself from that kind of stuff. So like I'm on, like I'm on TikTok live a lot now, gaming on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:34:42 So Eric Griffin gaming on TikTok, I've been doing that. And then the people will come on and then somebody will say something out of pocket shit. And I realize I go, oh, you know what? I'm glad you feel that way but yeah yeah you don't want to do with it I don't I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be mad that you feel that way
Starting point is 00:35:00 now I'm just gonna be like let me just control my happiness and then I saw this guy I saw this clip on TikTok from this like really professional hater you know he's a professional hater right and he was just mad it was like
Starting point is 00:35:11 what's that mean you've recognized him talk before about your thing yeah yeah I'd say like you see comments of his yeah yeah yeah that's his whole brand is to hate on people
Starting point is 00:35:21 Oh, got it. So, but I saw a video of him and he was like, you know what? Who can, like, it's okay to hate on people. If I have fun hating and you have fun hating, so what? We should have fun. You know, it's so, you know, there's nothing wrong with it. And I, and I saw that and I was like, you know what? This guy's absolutely right.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Oh. I just thought to myself, you're absolutely right. That's your brand. And the people that follow you want to do that. And I thought to myself, be happy with that. What I'm going to do is remove it. myself from it. I'm going to walk out of the room. I'm going to block you. I'm going to do your thing. It doesn't make me feel good. Just, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all. But what I'm
Starting point is 00:35:59 saying is I'm not going to be raging against it. Like, oh, yeah, how can you do that? But that's that thing, that's the nature. I think that's human nature is to want people to be. I mean, look, it's, you know, and I just, and I've been so much better about it. I've been like, oh, yeah. So like I say, all you guys out there, like the, what is the, the, the, the Reddit and all Like, can you imagine having, like, you have a Reddit where the whole thing is to just be intolerable. But if that's the community and they love it and they're happy in it, I guess. I'm like, do you? Yeah, I mean, I guess.
Starting point is 00:36:35 I don't, you know, dude, I don't, I'm so far removed from seeing like, they're, like, hate comments and shit. Like, I don't see that stuff. I mean, I don't go on TikTok. I spend zero time on TikTok But I get that man But I'm not saying there's anything wrong with going on TikTok But I'm just saying like I don't like
Starting point is 00:36:57 You know obviously people You know my fans are fucking awesome I love them They show up they show the fuck up They buy tickets That's the real comment I know I know yeah And like you know like
Starting point is 00:37:10 I know like Mac gets frustrated with like People somebody says something online It's like bro If you only knew If you only really stopped And it took a breath bro It's so dope what's happening And if you just
Starting point is 00:37:22 Yeah I mean if you cut that out It doesn't exist bro Yeah yeah that's what It doesn't exist But here's the thing though If you're like I'm a gamer I stream live
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah well then And then I stream live And they're gonna see it sometimes Yeah You have to you know Because the chat is like They like that They like that you interact
Starting point is 00:37:38 They're like hey good How was workaholics And blah blah But then I'll have some stupid comment About Brendan or something And I just go So every time I do my stream
Starting point is 00:37:48 I got to give the little spiel I go Hey listen I don't know how you feel about your friends Okay But would you want How would you respond If somebody's talking about your friend So I just want you to know
Starting point is 00:38:02 Yeah yeah Tread lightly And then it's like okay Bye bye Yeah so then after I put that out there I'm like okay bye You don't have to And it's just go oh you know what
Starting point is 00:38:11 Who cares? Like what I'm saying is I don't have to have So that's why But that's why that video Remember you picked up a video you pulled up that video a while ago and you're of, I can't remember, it was,
Starting point is 00:38:20 Whitney was on it. And I was like, oh, I don't wanna see that because I cut that shit out of my life. Like, I don't, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't, I don't know what, I still don't know what she said. I don't know if there's been any, because of what I said,
Starting point is 00:38:32 I don't know if there's more people, like, oh, there is. Yeah. Yeah, but, but you know what? And in terms of that too, I was thinking, I thought about that too, like all this comedian drama. Well, that I'm not about to.
Starting point is 00:38:43 No, no, no, but I'm saying all the comedian drama. I've actually been like, oh, Oh, you know what? Who cares? I'm just let it go. You know what? Do your content. Have fun.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Who cares? You know what I mean? It's all performative. It doesn't affect you if it doesn't affect you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm in fucking Tampa. I'm in Jacksonville next weekend. They're going to show up.
Starting point is 00:39:02 We're going to have a great fucking time. Cleveland, Detroit. Get your tickets, chrystalia.com. And I will tell you this too. Come celebrate New Year's Eve with me in San Antonio, christillia.com. And I just added Utah, by the way. And I'll be at that casino.

Starting point is 00:39:26 Oh, this Thanksgiving episode. Happy Thanksgiving. Again. So come to, if you're in Arizona, come to the Tempey Improv. Tomorrow,
Starting point is 00:39:32 Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tempe Improv. Eric Griffin. Live. It's going to be fun. This is what I always say to people on Thanksgiving, on Thanksgiving area,
Starting point is 00:39:42 holiday area, holiday time. When you, if you're in Tampa because I'm going to be in Tampa and Jacksonville this weekend okay yeah but come to Tempe after Thanksgiving
Starting point is 00:39:52 okay you're with your family everyone doesn't want to be with their family so don't so come to the show my show I'll do the work you don't have to talk to them you don't have to look at them you look at me
Starting point is 00:40:08 you ignore your family for two hours all right we got it I got it me and Denny two hours well no Denny and then me hour and a half i've been doing a little extra time you do an hour and a half no uh i i i depends no i don't like to i i don't you get sick of your shit and you want to do new stuff i haven't even seen your shit and i'm sick of it i'm saying don't you don't like okay so if you do an hour i don't know like my my thing if i'm doing a tour is generally the same yeah you yeah okay so
Starting point is 00:40:41 if i do more club i do club so it depends yeah true but I kind of wing it when I'm, like, working on something. Yeah. But, like, I just had a, something happened to me that was funny. And I was like, I'm going to talk about that on stage. But I'm like, you know, my bits were all fucking 10 minutes. So if I'm going to do that bit, then I'm like, oh, it's going to add to it. I still got to do the rest of this stuff, you know.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Oh, you don't pick a spot where you can be like, I could try this here. No, no. No, I always open with new stuff. Oh, okay. That makes sense. Well, that's good. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Because I always think I'm going to get them. Exactly. Exactly. you have your opening gambit of like hey guys blah blah blah then it's like you do yeah I guess I'm thinking about some stuff now you know I got some new
Starting point is 00:41:22 I'm working on this stuff about wolf you know what I mean yeah yeah this day I said I think he I think because like all these little girls in a neighborhood they love them they see them they're like woofee they love them and I thought oh no
Starting point is 00:41:36 am I raising a fuck boy because I'm not gonna know how to advise him Send him over You got to go to Uncle Chris But you know You're just like I like just coming up with things And then you know
Starting point is 00:41:56 Talking about it Because I have like a core Like I have like a core thing I like talk about right now It's being a dad Being a husband And so then Everything around that
Starting point is 00:42:05 It's so easy to like you know Slip in slip into it You know what I mean? Yeah Yeah Yeah So it's just like a fun thing. A lot of crazy stuff happens.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Yeah, I know. I know. What the fuck is this? What is this? Unemployed son dressed as dead mom to collect her pension. That's amazing. Oh. Missed outfire scam. Will, hiding her body. That is... Hello! I'm my mother! So she died and he... Dressed up as her.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Incredible. That is incredible. Could you imagine doing that us? I don't think we could get away with that. That's good. Dude, that thing you sent is so funny. Oh, what did I sent? I forgot what it was, but I remember it was. But I remember it was so funny. That's one of those ones you go right to the comments. No, that, that, I don't, that comment section was.
Starting point is 00:42:50 That shit was fire. Man, that was so far. I sent it because I knew you'd like it. That's why. The lady's haircut. Oh, yeah. Just how she thought she was killing it. That comment section was crazy.
Starting point is 00:43:05 Yeah, you got to play the video. New hair loading. We might get, uh. So that's the old hair. so the honestly the editing and everything about this video is just so bad and one comment just go i i just drop my phone i go i got to send this but i don't know if see this is one of these things where it's like is this person is this person self-aware or is this person like is this person like is she mental you know what I'm saying like is she self-aware how ridiculous this is
Starting point is 00:43:47 because that would be even I don't know if I that one dude if I appreciate me with the address of your hairdresser I wish to open a large hat store across the street bro that's the one I like to me I go I'm done wait that's the one that was the one yeah that that is just so silly Did your hair dress and go to culinary school? Yeah. I mean, it's like, man. Does she take cancellations? That's the one that people would say, but that one is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Dude, that's what that guy said with this. It's true. Funny commenting should be a national sport at this point. I mean, it's so true. Like, I don't see. So cute. Which foot did she use? Man, I tell you, I hate that I do this.
Starting point is 00:44:35 I know, I know. Oh, I actually purposely don't, but for this one I did. No, no. my god but but but don't you go like this don't you see something like out of pocket something weird and i always go like this oh i got to see what people are saying well that that was with this yeah yeah yeah yeah it just it just that's just but i mostly stop myself from doing it because it's just like i don't know it's kind of in a way it's like you look at it you know it's going to be so funny because there's just eight billion people out there so the the top comments are always going to be funny
Starting point is 00:45:07 right and then so i go that's kind of like cheating but i like the ones too though that like those certain accounts that will take this and then make a song out of the comments have you seen those oh yeah i have seen those are fucking hilarious too i love that so don't make a song gonna be like so cute which foot is you you know but yeah this is a good one but just something about this lady's face like does she have other like what's her other i don't know i don't I don't know. Oh, yeah, I guess that's her. But you saw the comment on the thing.
Starting point is 00:45:41 It was like, now the lady won't cut my hair anymore because of out, out cry and she posted a comment. She's like, now that person won't cut my hair anymore and she won't cut my family's hair anymore. It's her comment. I don't know if she got rid of it, but that's what it said yesterday. Yeah, it's pretty brutal. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:46:05 It wasn't, it's not this one. It's the first comment. It's her comment that she left. She's a mom. Eric liked it. Yeah. You know I did. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:13 I don't know. See if there's other, maybe it's better. Her hairs go up. Yeah, go to that red one in the mirror on the right. Yeah. Like maybe. Okay, so that was her. I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Oh, she thinks she's killing it. I like it. Well, you got it, but you got it. No, but this is great. Like, this is one of those. Well, that's all I wait. Look at, look at this comment. Look at this comment.
Starting point is 00:46:36 I thought this was going. to say as yes i continue to work as i continue to work accepting on my new hair but instead it says this new chapter oh she's cute come on no but just she got she got a great oh somebody i didn't look at this she got a great internet face somebody sent this i sent it you sent it yeah and when did you post this fuck got him i didn't click in this yet you know how nick always picks the worst one first. Starting point is 00:47:57 This is like a guy who will be on the movie on the camera. This is like a guy who will be on the camera for that, right? You know what's weird about that is they usually start here. That's clear Shout out to Kyle But hey, hey, hey, hey, this is what I hate about society right now With the social media
Starting point is 00:48:20 I don't know If this guy is serious Right now, yeah Or he's self-aware That this is terrible This is my favorite comment What? No
Starting point is 00:48:34 Oh, yeah, I've seen that one. The next picnic. With the, yeah. This is, uh, yeah. He's good. No. I get it, though. He's like, this is like somebody, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:48:51 Here's what I'll say for this guy. Good for you. Really? Put yourself out there. Sure. And then stop. He's not going to stop. Look, put yourself out there.
Starting point is 00:49:00 No, he'll stop eventually. He put himself out there. What are you supposed to do? I don't know, but you can kind of You want to be a singer You can ironically make it Yeah, she bangs, you know Well, no, but you mean

Starting point is 00:49:24 He was in that fucking show. Yeah, he made it for real, for real. Yeah. But, no, but this guy's like, This is the kind of thing you could do now, though. He's dope. Like, what if, like, you know, what if, uh,
Starting point is 00:49:34 Calvin made a song. You have to have a serious talk with him. Come on, dude. You wouldn't let him. He's like, dad, I got to put this out. If he was that age, I go, well, look, if this guy did this and he was 15, you let him keep going. Yeah.

Yeah, we put it out. I know. I know. I know. We definitely would have. This November, action is free on Pluto TV. Go on the run with Jack Reacher.
Starting point is 00:50:23 Every suspect was a train killer. Then buckle up for drive. World War Z. Every human being we saved. It's one of less fights. And Charlie's Angels. Damn, I hate to fly. Launch into sci-fi adventure with the fifth element and laugh through the mayhem in Tropic Thunder. What is going on here?
Starting point is 00:50:41 All the thrills. All for free. Pluto TV. Stream now. Hey, never. And that is, you know, that's why you think about it now. It's like, I don't know. Like, how do you, like, I know how you make it now as a comic, but like, could you imagine?
Starting point is 00:50:56 Like, like, you, it's almost like you have to grow with the person as, you. fans like yeah like you're like oh you used to be terrible but now you're great we did it but see my see i'm just old so i just had this this thing where it was supposed to be you're good and then you get you become you're you're good almost great yeah and then you become spectacular and you but your fan base now it now it's not necessarily that i just think they find you and they go oh we like you whether you're good or not yeah dude a hundred I don't care that you're not good you're my favorite so-and-so 100% you know so that's so so my generation has this like weird you know fascination with how it's supposed to be done but it's like that's not even what it is
Starting point is 00:51:51 yeah it's not even about being good yeah it's not about necessarily being good because by the way they don't care that you're good yeah they don't care that you're good listen man you come to my show people always I always had the same thing and I think that's just like a almost and it's almost like it makes me go damn because people always say like man I didn't know you and it's funny oh my god wow bro what a great I had the greatest time at group
Starting point is 00:52:14 and I'm like oh man and you think I wish people knew so more people could see yeah yeah yeah you think like that you go oh god then it's like oh man you know you get on a podcast but then it's like oh no you say oh no I got to do a podcast
Starting point is 00:52:28 to get people and it's like no that's not well everybody has their own different way of doing it and yeah man it out But it's like it's turned, you know, what I'm saying is if you, there are those people who like, they loved being a stand-up and then they found this thing as a great jumping, you know, leapfrog into like that thing so now people can see them. So that's great. But I think there's a lot of people starting, let's say, oh, I got to do a podcast. I want to be just like Burt Kreischer. And it's like, I know that's a special thing. You know? I hope that somebody does.
Starting point is 00:53:02 I want to do a documentary about like the, you know, that we'd call it the Rogan sphere, you know what I mean? But like that, that's the thing. You know, here's some of tons of like really great comics, great personalities that went on there and got jump started a fan base so they can really see how it is. Dude, I remember when Theo was doing his podcast in the, in the comedy store at it.
Starting point is 00:53:32 They had this weird room in the comedy store. And I did one of his, you know, that was so long ago. And then, you know, boom, kept going, kept going, kept going. This past weekend? Allegedly, probably with that one he did with that TMZ writer. Oh. Whatever it was called. I don't know whatever it was called.
Starting point is 00:53:52 But it was because it was just him, I still think of it as the same thing, you know? And, you know what I mean? And then he, you know, he got in, then Rogan got a hold of him. and then it just turned into magic, you know? And then he was able to, you know, then he did this thing, you know? It's just like turned into like, you know, you know what I mean? So this was Theo was on.
Starting point is 00:54:15 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, he had his own thing, man. I don't remember that other guy. It was just him. But like he was doing it. So what I'm saying is like, you know, sometimes that's what it takes.
Starting point is 00:54:27 You know, you get that little whatever. Hey, a lot of people, you someone, like Rogan's like, I think this guy's funny. And then he's got 10 million fans. And then those fans go, okay, I like this guy. Let me see what, Rogan said he's funny. Let me go check it out. I remember the first time I did Rogan, I was doing the Irvine improv that weekend.
Starting point is 00:54:43 It's the first time I ever sold that shit out. Oh, wow. You know what I mean? I was looking at the crowd. I was like, who are these people? And I realized, oh. Oh, wow. So if you get the right endorsement and then the magic happens in a way.
Starting point is 00:54:55 So it's just, you know, I love that that, I love that was a thing, you know, before it became so about politics and all that kind of stuff. I love that that happened, you know, Tom Seguer, Bert, Theo, Andrew Santino, you know, that, that, and then what Tom Seguer is done for other people because now he's large. So he's got people under his belt now that have, that have huge podcast that maybe you won't even know about it. It's all great.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Like who? What's his, oh my God, why am I forgetting his name? He's at the comedy store all the time. Oh, you know what? I'm drawing a blank. Whatever. Bro, you saw this clip that I did? Bro, this is great.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Oh, this is your favorite. So do you like this kind of? Oh, yeah, we talked about this on the last episode. Yeah, you love this. Bro, let's go. Hello, this is Elmo's friend Robert De Niro. Oh, he's doing it like S&L. Hi, kids.
Starting point is 00:55:48 Elmo's friend, Mr. De Niro has an interesting job. Elmo's friend, Mr. De Niro is an actor. That's right, Elmo. I'm an actor. Well, what does an actor do, Mr. De Niro? Well, Elmo, an actor uses his imagination to pretend he's somebody else. Really? Well, how does Mr. De Niro do that?
Starting point is 00:56:06 Well, that's easy. I'll show you. Okay. What should I pretend to be? Um, let Elmo see. Um, ooh, ooh, how about a dog? A dog? Yeah, a dog. Yeah, a dog.
Starting point is 00:56:16 I'll pretend I'm a dog. Okay. I'll imagine I'm covered in fur, and walk around on all four legs, and I go, woof, woof. Oh, okay. Elmo's imagining too. And then I'm a dog. I'm not on a dog.
Starting point is 00:56:31 What do you think, Elmo? Wow, Mr. De Niro is really good at imagining. Thank you. Is that all Mr. De Niro can imagine being a dog? Well, no, Elmo, I can imagine I'm a New York City taxi driver, an out of shape boxer, or a cabbage. Oh, do the cabbage, do the cabbage. Okay, I'm green, I'm leafy, and I go great with corned beef.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Oh, I'm imagining too. Hey, look at me. I'm a cabbage. Good source of riboflavity. That's the best imaginary garbage. TV wasn't done after this? Like they didn't just shut it off? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:11 They go, like, you know, the powers that beat, this is unbelievable. I'm still trying to figure out, I think that must be a cardboard cutout picture of the chair that Elmo's on. And the person's right there. Oh, oh, oh. You get what I'm saying? what I'm trying to see. Oh, who cares, man.
Starting point is 00:57:30 That's what I'm a fucking ass. It's not that. Only thing I would have made it better if he was like, my hands are tied now. Yes. I got no hands. They're tied now. I'm a cabbage.
Starting point is 00:57:42 Dude, bro, whose foot is that? I wonder why he did that. Yeah, I don't know, bro. I don't know, man. He's got kids. He probably had kids and it was like, you know. Kids change you. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:57:52 You're the one who's like, oh, yeah, yeah, people have different goals. Maybe his goals would be on fucking Sesame Street. I want to fucking be able I want to talk to Oscar you know and you got Elmo This isn't even Sesame Street It's not
Starting point is 00:58:06 Yeah it is Yeah this was on Samsung Street It had to have been Elmo wasn't on Sesame Street Yeah he was Was he? His fucking guy Joey wasn't on friends
Starting point is 00:58:17 Do you think that's the same Guy would watch the Joey spin off That never came on Yeah it did Yeah it was like two seasons Elmo was on Sesame Street Bro, come on, man, look at him He's a Muppet
Starting point is 00:58:33 Look at him Still, I just Fucking guy Let me see Yeah, this would be like Fucking No, dude My Sesame Street didn't have Elmo
Starting point is 00:58:45 This motherfucker, bro I'm trying to tell you, can you When did Elmo join Sesame Street? Put that on it Join like he's the Yeah, he's a Founder memory. It's like an S&L.
Starting point is 00:58:58 It's like an S&MO pitched it, dude. I have an idea. You're so fucking stupid. Me, a big yellow bird. And I got in a trash can. We're all naked. No cocks. Maybe Eric's old enough.
Starting point is 00:59:18 Oh, fuck, dude, Eric's old. Look, look at what it says. And he became a named regular character a few years later in the mid-1980s. You can't stop Elmo, bro. Thank you. That's not my Elmo. He was not on when I was watching Sesame Street.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Elmo's like Gerard Carmichael of Muppets, bro. He just fucking took it open, made his own thing and kind of just mid, see, that that isn't even like, I need more accuracy in that. Yeah. You know, I need more accuracy. I need to know when would he become a main character? You're good, bro. See?
Starting point is 00:59:53 Yeah. What, you used to, were you watching? I was born in 72 So I was like you don't watch Sesame Street When you're like five six You don't watch after that I graduated from Elmo Okay look at that
Starting point is 01:00:05 1985 I was 12 13 I was done with Elmo at that point You're like an Elmo hater You're like I'm old school No no that's that new shit Sesame Street jump the shark Yeah baby I need the OG original Sesame Street
Starting point is 01:00:23 I even talk to me about that red oscar Yeah, there was no D.E. There was no D.E.I. I stopped watching Rugrats when they had Dill. They added Dill. Did you? Mm-hmm. But I stopped watching the Witcher when they added that fucking Hemsworth brother.
Starting point is 01:00:39 You know what, dude? I'm kidding. I don't watch that fucking trash. The first season of that was great. No, it wasn't. Yes, it was. Yes, it was. Fucking Henry Kvill, bro.
Starting point is 01:00:50 That guy's great. Dude, shut up. He's great, dude. You don't like Camisel? no Henry Cable is not it's not that he's bad it's just he should just be on a billboard or something you know you got to watch a whole show with him dude yeah no he needs to be like I don't like when they change characters I'm fine with it I don't like it I gotta do it
Starting point is 01:01:16 I don't like it I don't like it all right I didn't like the silence of the lambs I didn't like when what's her face took over for what's her face? I didn't like it. Army of the Dead. Tignitaro. Yeah, that was terrible. No, I get it. I get it. That movie, let me tell you something. Which one? That movie was going to be terrible
Starting point is 01:01:35 with you in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that was, it was going to be terrible regardless. I didn't see it, but. And then to do that shit? I was like, what? Yeah, weird. No, I just don't like. I was good at it. I'll tell you this much, man.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Well, well, maybe it don't come out. Maybe the director's cut. The Lillera cut will come out. Yeah, you should ask him. Release it. Yeah. Just for your fans. That'd be great. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:01:59 They do this a lot. So there was that change. I saw a post about this and it really made me think about it. Like, you know, the Flintstones movie, they came out with a sequel with a whole new cast. Yeah, I know that. That was terrible. I was waiting in line for it. You know, the new Darren on Bewitched, but that guy was sick.
Starting point is 01:02:16 That's why they did that. So you forgive him. Yeah, forgive them for that. But there's a lot, like, yeah, I didn't like, I don't like when they changed characters. this Witcher one is like crazy Oh yeah I don't know anything about it You just don't do it anymore I'm sorry you know what
Starting point is 01:02:30 Oh yeah this one yeah Sometimes you just go You can't do this anymore This guy's not in the movie anymore This show we're moving on No but it's a money thing And also I don't know I don't agree with that
Starting point is 01:02:40 I don't agree with that Why Like when the dad changes on a sitcom And then because you're like Fuck that guy He was shitty I always think like maybe the actor Was annoying fuck that
Starting point is 01:02:50 Get him out of there Get a new guy and who wants to be there Not the main guy dude I'm talking about the main guy, man. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, well, you want to change the uncle that comes in and goes like on fresh prints? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:02 I heard she was tough to work with. Oh, really? She changed the mom in, uh... I liked that one when she became Chris Rock at the top right there. Where? Oh, wow. Or Grace Jones. What's the, uh, what is this show?
Starting point is 01:03:15 That's the French Prince of Bel Air. Is it? Oh, my God. Who are you? I'm white. Uh, the fresh prince of Bel Air. Yeah, that's a white. You think that was for black people?
Starting point is 01:03:25 No. Wait, wait, wait, in your mind. It's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is more racist what you just said. No, it's not because what I'm saying. There's black people on it. It must be for black people. No, it's not for black people.
Starting point is 01:03:35 But knowing who that lady is is for black people. That's what I'm saying. So you know all the white aunties on the white shows? Yeah. I do. I'm trying to think of another classic sitcom where they changed. That's the one of the only ones. That's why I was so...
Starting point is 01:03:55 I just don't like it. All right. That Witcher one, I'm never going to watch it. The Witcher, dude. I'm never going to watch it. Oh, what's the fucking song that they do? The Witcher... What's the Witcher song?
Starting point is 01:04:08 Oh, fuck, that shit bang for a bit. Did you watch it at all? I saw a few episodes. It's terrible. But you... How many episodes do you need? Three? So even if the first one is just God-awful,
Starting point is 01:04:19 you go, let me see if they did... If it's God-awful, No, no, but yeah, I'll usually go to the second one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Usually. And if they sort of, you go, well, let me just make sure. Go to three, and then if it dips again, fuck it. No, you're done.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Yeah, I'll feel you. Watching Pluribus? No, I hear it's good. I'm going to wait until that's all out. I'm going to wait until that's all out. I think they're doing great. Ladies are doing great, but, you know. Ray is awesome.
Starting point is 01:04:43 She's always been awesome. I worked with her a bunch. She's really doing great. Cleveland, Ohio, Detroit. I don't know if you're going to like that show, though. What do you guys think? Oxnard. I don't know we still a poll here.
Starting point is 01:04:53 Will Chris like Pluribus? Yeah, Will Chris like Pluribus? All right, good point. I'm going to say he's going to be like, you know. Wow. You know what I mean? He's going to be like, I watched the first four episodes and then, you know, eh, you know, you know, it's going to be like that.
Starting point is 01:05:09 But he's going to say it like this. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's going to be. Yeah. It was like I got the four. Yeah. Come see me in Ontario.
Starting point is 01:05:19 I'm going to be in there. I will be in. Ontario though after Christmas ignore your family come with me cressily.com yeah I think
