Starting point is 00:00:00 We're friends that laugh, we're friends that shout Sometimes we don't know what we're talking about But that won't stop us Nothing can stop us It's like a show you used to love Just rebranded enough It's stronger, better, bigger power Cause it is the Golden Hour
Starting point is 00:00:28 It's the Golden Hour I actually do, I'm a mechanic. There we go. Oh, sick, I need you to work on my car. Work on lowriders or what, Nick, right? Yeah, man. He's probably got five kids. I know, but Nick's racist, and that's what he was thinking.
Starting point is 00:00:48 What do you got for us, boss? Well, it's kind of in my job kind of thing where I've been a mechanic for like seven, eight years now. Nice. I'm getting kind of sick of the nine to five. I've always worked nights, so like five to nine kind of thing. Oh, wow. But my question is, I know, Brendan, you did your own thing. You went on your own, separated yourself from all the corporate stuff
Starting point is 00:01:10 and just did your own thing. Yeah, it's a disaster. Just don't take car advice from Brendan, whatever you do. I mean, like, what do you guys recommend for going on your own? Like, that risk, you know, like, I have an 8-month-old, going on your own? Like that risk. I have an eight-month-old. I have a family now. It's a lot harder to try to step away from an easy 80-hour paycheck
Starting point is 00:01:33 to the risk of not knowing what's going to happen. But that's why everybody doesn't do it because it's tough, but the juice is worth the squeeze if you can make it happen. But you're going to leave? I assume you work for a big corporate like GMC or Mopar or Ford or Subaru, and then are you going to go do your own customized thing? Or Jiffy Lube. There's mechanics. I work for the city.
Starting point is 00:01:57 I'm a diesel mechanic. I work for the city buses. So what would be your – You could for sure get a different job. So what would be your thing that you'd want to do if you break your own shop? But if he was like, yeah, you just got to get those account want to be a magician Yeah, the thing is I want to be I want to have my own shop like those crazy shots you guys see on Instagram Yeah, super nice and that's not good. Not the regular mechanic shop. That's like grease all over the ground
Starting point is 00:02:22 You're slipping it right? Like the most shops people think of them. You know, I want to have that one where like the white floors, the white toolboxes. White clientele. But for diesel. For sure, white clientele. Yeah, man. White people pay.
Starting point is 00:02:35 There's so much money in diesel because all the trucks that you see on the road, like especially like actual working trucks are all diesel. Yeah, but this is different. So the money's in that. No, no, this is different because he has a city job. So there's a pension and there's all kinds of stuff like that, right? But they also have all the accounts too. So for like the waste management sends them the trucks. But have you thought about like – so you have a very specific skill set
Starting point is 00:02:56 because you deal with diesel all the time. Yeah. So, I mean, maybe it's time to like put yourself out there and find out if there is some like you know custom shop who does this and then you you have to like i think you have to get into that world first and then you know you build you build up build up some income for this too maybe you'll be able to get a loan you have to convince somebody to go into business with you i literally i know the biggest diesel guy in uh socal 805 diesel vin diesel it Diesel I live in Oxnard so
Starting point is 00:03:25 You're local bro Super local I'm going to be in Oxnard in December Okay whatever Maybe I can connect you Because he's a guy who left did his own thing 805 Diesel is massive now You got tickets to my show bro
Starting point is 00:03:42 No not yet Alright we're going to get you tickets bro we're going to get you tickets, bro. We're going to get you tickets. Oh, sweet. He's working. He's working. All right, you'll write to Nick, and Nick will hook it up. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Yeah, so Oxnard. When is Oxnard? It's in December, and I'm also going to be in business. Yeah, he knows, bro. Oh, wee. Oh, wee. Yeah, dude. But anyway, I'll be in fucking Albuquerque.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I'll be in Sacramento. I'll be in a bunch of different places. No, no, no. Just bring in the states. But your life, though. You're trying to open up a shop. You can't get these overpriced Crystalia tickets right now. But that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:04:11 I'm giving them. I'm hooking them up, dude. Yeah, thanks for that. It's going to be two for one. Make sure you literally. There's fine print on those. I'll wear Brennan's merch to the show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Welcome. It's all welcome. It's all welcome. All right. So, yeah. I mean, dude. Jesus Christ, man. the show yeah welcome it's all welcome it's all welcome all right so um yeah i mean dude i jesus christ man there's a reason why more people don't do it but the juice is worth the squeeze yeah stop saying that but you're no but as i know it's like the one saying i know he opened a fortune
Starting point is 00:04:35 cookie yesterday the juice is worth the squeeze i gotta say this more yeah this would be good on golden but i'm gonna test it out on the Patreon. I don't want to just put it out on the free YouTube. I just want to go live. Not yet. I'm going to try it at the Ice House tonight. No, you know what it is, though? There's a reason.
Starting point is 00:04:54 It's more work. Like right now, you have a boss. You know exactly what you're doing. When I was at Showtime, I had a salary. They booked the guests. They paid for all the employees. When you leave there, well, now not only are you the mechanic, but you're the business owner.
Starting point is 00:05:08 You're the CEO. So I had to hire my staff. I had to get the – I own cameras now. It's a harder squeeze. I own the studio. Just try not to say it. Yeah, I really am. It's a harder squeeze.
Starting point is 00:05:19 It's a harder squeeze. It's a harder squeeze. But you're going to get juice out of it. The juice is working. I'm Mexican, man, so I'm not afraid of working. Horchata. It's not worth the horchata. He started his mechanic career outside, you know, in front of the...
Starting point is 00:05:34 To say horchata. Horchata. Horchata. Horchata. Horchata. What is that? It sounds like a workout place for Mexicans. And they're all dressed like this.
Starting point is 00:05:50 It's a workout. You go to the side, bro. You go to the side. Thank you. you
