Sui's network processed 40,614,180 transactions per second in a live test, surpassing its 20 million target and July 4 record of over 6 million. The test demonstrated the network's resilience and speed under high capacity demands, with Sui tunnels enabling gasless and offchain transactions.

Starting point is 00:00:00 This audio is presented by Hacker Noon, where anyone can learn anything about any technology. Sway sets record for highest verified throughput settled to a blockchain, 40 million transactions, by chainwire. Polo Alto, California, October 7, 2026, Chainwire, Sway tunnels processed 40,614,180 transactions per second, TPS, settled on Sway Mainet in a live, high stress speed test, beating its own 20 million target and easily surpassing its July 4th record of over 6 million. The test was conducted on the summit stage at Sway Base Camp, Sway's annual flagship conference held this year alongside Token 2049 Singapore, and was designed to prove the network's resilience and speed under the extreme
Starting point is 00:00:44 capacity demands of AI agents and machine commerce. 40,614,180 TPS was achieved via Sway tunnels, which were introduced during the previous record-setting live stream on July 4th, 2026. Similar to Lightning Network's off-chain payment channels, Sway tunnels settle to Sway MainEd when closed. Every closed tunnel is mutually co-signed and independently verifiable on-chain, combining high throughput with cryptographic proof that no transaction can betampered with. Unlike Lightning's channels, sway tunnels are programmable, meaning they allow for a much wider range of activities than just payments.
Starting point is 00:01:20 participants and spectators were invited to log into an explorer built specifically for the event, where users and AI agents alike opened more than 10,000 tunnels in different application categories, from chat to games tow payments, all gaslessly and off-chain. While the tunnels in today's demonstration focused on those categories, Sway provides the primitives so builders can design their own tunnels to suit whatever they need. The test was run by a Denny Abio Dune, chief product officer and co-founder at Meiston Labs, the original contributor to sway. Serta K, a Web 3 security leader serving as independent auditor,
Starting point is 00:01:56 will examine all associated data, including proofs, execution logs, journals and supporting evidence, and publish a report in the coming days. From 6 million to 40 million TPS the base camp result is more than six times the 6,086,76 TPS record sway set on July 4. Both were measured inside sway tunnels. Greater than, in an agentic economy, Sway doesn't need to process every interaction. It greater than needs to be the trust layer for all of them, said a Denny Abio Dune. Think of Sway as a court. Agents agree on the rules when they open
Starting point is 00:02:30 a tunnel and reach a greater than conclusion when they settle. In between, the court stays out of their greater than business. When there's a dispute, Sway resolves it automatically and greater than transparently. Agents get privacy and speed without giving up verifiability. At 40 million TPS, on-chain gas fees would cripple agent commerce. Tunnels need just two transactions, one to open and one to close, which brings intermediate costs close to zero while enabling privacy and offline use. During the test, more than 10,000 tunnels opened on Sway Mainet within seconds of each other. Live from Singapore, the event took place on the summit stage at Sway Basecamp in Marina Bay Sands, where audience members watched live and online. A special contest was run concurrently,
Starting point is 00:03:15 with both live and digital attendees invited to make their closest guest to the ultimate TPS milestone. Greater than Sway is built for the moment when millions of AI agents are transacting every greater than day, said Abio Dune. No market in the world needs 6 million transactions per greater than second, let alone 40 million. People just don't move that fast. Agents do. About Sway Sway, where money moves as freely as messages, is a next generation layer one
Starting point is 00:03:43 blockchain built for on-chain finance and agentic infrastructure. Founded by the core team behind Meta's stablecoin initiative and powered by an object-centric model, Sway makes assets, permissions, and user data programmable and verifiable. Sway's primitives offer everything necessary to create high-performance finance and AI-native applications. Users can learn more at Sway.io.
