Hello, pavement pounders. It's yours, truly Harland Williams, and a bit of a situation here for Monday's podcast.
Not a good situation, so here's why you're hearing this less than professional-sounding broadcast.
Sadly, all my podcast equipment has crashed and burned.
I have all my recording programs and everything on a laptop computer.
The laptop computer is getting old.
It's getting up there in years.
And yesterday it just died on me.
It just literally one of those things where the screen went cuckoo.
It's just, it's not good.
So unfortunately, I am not able to post the podcast that I normally post,
which sucks because I was planning a bunch of great Halloween stuff.
You can hear my computer in the background struggling.
It's just, I don't know what to do.
So, well, I figure it out.
I didn't want to leave you guys without anything,
But because I don't have my equipment, I cannot splice stuff together.
So what I'm going to do so that you have some comedy and some laughs is earlier tonight, Sunday night, actually.
I did a stand-up comedy routine at the World Famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California.
And the way it works over there is we usually don't have a traditional embaltian.
see what happens is there's a list in the back all the comedians get in the green room and one
comedian will go out and they'll look before they go out who's coming up next and when they're
finished their spot they will bring out the next comedian by name so uh there's a comedian named
pete holmes who many of you might know and he was before me but he went out before i got there
So what happened is when he came off stage, instead of introducing me,
he introduced another comedian named Skyler Stone,
who kind of organized the comedy evening.
And Skyler is no more for his impressions,
impressions of Vince Vaughn and people like that.
Now, I don't do impressions, but what happened is Pete Holmes did not know I was in the building
because he was on stage, obviously.
And so he had no way of knowing.
So instead of bringing me out, he said,
please welcome Skyler Stone.
But I was all revved up to go out.
So I just went out anyways.
And you'll hear Pete go, you're not Skyler Stone.
And I just winked at him.
And I said, don't worry, dude.
I'm Skyler Stone now.
And so what I did is I just went out on stage
and I kind of just, I didn't try to be Skyler Stone,
but I just suddenly became,
a guy who did impressions and was kind of pretending he was Schuyler Stone,
in no way or by any means was I imitating or emulating
Skyler Stone's act, but I was doing kind of a spoof of his act
in a loving and respectful way.
And so I just went on a ramble for 20 minutes,
pretending I was another guy.
And so since I can't splice this,
intro onto the actual stand-up I recorded.
I'm going to post this first so you guys can get up to speed on what's going on.
I'm hoping I have my equipment fixed very soon.
It's killing me.
And then from here I will post the stand-up comedy night where I did this dastardly
impression of or bastardized another comedian's act.
But it was all in good fun.
I just improvised.
I went along with the guy making the mistake and bringing up the wrong guy by the wrong name.
And so I hope you enjoy it.
I hope it gives you a few laughs while I try to make the necessary repairs here.
And so as I said, I'm posting this first.
And then I will post the stand-up comedy portion called Impressions.
And that'll be the second post.
So enjoy.
Thanks for listening.
And like I said, hopefully we're up and running again very soon.
And until next time, Chicken Chowman, baby.
