Starting point is 00:00:00 This week, I think one of the most interesting conversations actually been over the last couple weeks had to do with Elon Musk attempting to buy Twitter. I want to play for you many of the statements made by the news. I don't really care about Elon. I don't know what his plan is or who he really is or he's a dark lord or a benevolent angel Gabriel from heaven himself. But I want to talk about the response to his desire to buy Twitter. This is what it looked like in the news. The wealthiest person in the world, Elon Musk, threatening a hostile takeover of Twitter. Elon Musk is attempting a hostile takeover of Twitter.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Last night, Musk offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion in cash. Having a public platform that is broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization. It's kind of funny. Oh, Elon Musk wants to buy it. But there are massive life and globe alter. altering consequences for just letting people run wild on the thing. A lot of folks out there that say, you know, it's troubling enough that private companies control these key communication platforms around the world. Maybe it's even worse to have the world's richest person
Starting point is 00:01:11 trying to buy one of them and take it private. Are there any guardrails around something like this? Because this could be a very dangerous president. Elon Musk's vision for the internet is dangerous nonsense. In Musk's vision of Twitter and the internet, he'd be the wizard behind the curtain. projecting on the world screen a fake image of a brave new world empowering everyone. That's Musk's dream and Trumps and Putin's and the dream of every dictator,
Starting point is 00:01:35 strongman demagogue, modern-day robber baron on earth. For the rest of us, it would be a brave new nightmare. Musk has accused Twitter of censoring its users. Are you concerned that what Musk is trying to do is to open up the platform for more misinformation about topics such as COVID-19 and the 2020 election? I mean, I'm going to be honest, Elon Musk is a danger to Twitter and to freedom of speech. Elon Musk has never been an advocate for free speech. He's an advocate for speech without consequences.
Starting point is 00:02:08 And what he wants is for the platform to be more hospitable to him and to people like him. Under a new world order of Elon Musk owning Twitter, suddenly you see people back on that platform who have been banned. He was asked if there's a plan B and he laughed and said there is. I'll find out what that is. That's what a super villain hero would say, right? He thinks he's Tony Stark. Musk has the right to buy whatever he likes and run his company however he likes. But we do not have to buy his nonsense story about saving free speech.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I mean, it was really amazing. Here's what amaze me about it. I didn't hear a lot of people say this. But if you're watching the news, I mean, super villain, this is going to be incredibly dangerous if this is allowed. I mean, one man buying a company like Twitter. I mean, that's the end of the world if we allow that to happen. I mean, meanwhile, Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post,
Starting point is 00:03:08 and nobody seemed to care that he bought an entire newspaper and, you know, would attempt to take over the world with it. But it was just this idea. And as I was watching this rhetoric taking place. And by the way, I don't know if Elon Musk is a good guy. I'm not even going to get in that debate or where this all leads. But it was a reaction to it. Most of the liberal news agencies saw,
Starting point is 00:03:29 this as the end of the world and just dire consequences should this be allowed to happen. And I thought to myself, I would understand this screaming terror that was taking place if, you know, Elon Musk, you know, was saying, I am going to censor all of those liberal lies. They will never be allowed to speak. I mean, then if someone said that, I'd be like, they're going to attack, you know, life as we know it. But that's not what he said. The only thing this guy said in his reason for buying it, Elon Musk makes an offer to buy Twitter, having a public platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization. I don't care about the economics at all. He basically said,
Starting point is 00:04:14 I just want to stop censoring everybody. Allow people an open public discourse. And so as I started thinking that through, why is it that liberal media would see that as the end of the world? And by the way, I'm, you know, politically, I'll still say this. I grew up a Democrat, I mean, an environmentalist from Boulder, Colorado, all of that, to be said, I'm politically marooned right now. But the statement I am making is that the powers that be, right now the media and whoever's funding the media and our current, you know, administration, they see free speech as a horror, as a danger. And that says to me, they must truly believe then at this point that they're outnumbered.
Starting point is 00:05:00 That's the only reason you'd have a problem with it. Who cares if it's an open discord, 50-50, half-consertive, half not, crazy Democrats, crazy Republicans. But no, we've got to stop one side of this conversation because should it be allowed? As the woman said, some of those voices in this new world order under Musk are going to be loud back on Twitter, that means then you don't feel like your value system will stand up against it. It won't hold on, which says to me, folks, they truly believe they're outnumbered by whatever ideology is opposed to them. I think we are at a point now, and I think we've shown it throughout
Starting point is 00:05:39 this show that they believe they are now outnumbered. And the entire cry for media is don't allow anyone to get a hold of a social media platform that allows everyone to speak or that will be the end of our value system. I want to take this one step further. If that's true, what I'm saying is true and the elite, you know, Democrats, progressive liberals, whatever you want to call them, see themselves as a minority but need to stay in power to save the world, there's only one way to achieve that. And that's through authoritarianism, which is something that's been shocking for me to watch as a Democrat. What has happened to this party? Why is it my parents marched in the 60s for freedom to decide whether or not you go to a war or not? What you know what you're going to get
Starting point is 00:06:31 from your education system? The freedom to choose. The freedom to hear all sides of the story. And now that's the end of the world based on one political party that now believes should that freedom exist, they will not exist? I think we should be afraid of their fear. People in fear do very, very dangerous and scary things. Luckily for us, no matter how much they censor us here on, you know, the internet, you have managed to come over to the high wire. We are covering these issues anyway. And as I've said, our numbers are skyrocketing past most of the major news agencies, certainly the ones like that are on cable news, but one of those great propaganda machines
Starting point is 00:07:17 made an attempt to launch their own Hindenburg this last week. Of course, I'm talking about the CNN Plus, a total disaster, and their numbers were abysmal. CNN Plus reportedly draws fewer than 10,000 daily viewers. So there it is, the propagandists that are afraid that they're now the minority, that you're not going to pay attention if you hear any other voices, it appears what they are fearing, they're drawing upon them.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I don't know what they're afraid of. Free thought should not be a fearful experience. Freedom of expression. We're all brothers and sisters. We're all human beings. We all care about our children. I say that on both sides. I get it. You think you're trying to save children. So are we. It's time to all come back to the table. It's time to start having the difficult conversations with each other. It's time to end censorship because you've proven it's a disaster. You have killed people with this virus. You made a vaccine that at the very best doesn't work at all to stop Omicron. And at the worst, maybe causing one of the highest rates of death we've ever seen in humanity because you did not let people speak. You did not let them converse. And we must not,
Starting point is 00:08:39 allow our country to be run, our media to drive any fear of the people. We, the people of the United States of America, every single one of us, every race, every creed, every religion, every age demographic, every socioeconomic position has a right to a voice in this country, and anybody that thinks otherwise, we're going to bring a rally to your town to make sure you are marched out. This is the high wire. Do me a favor. Donate to the give, send, go. Let's get even with defeat the mandates so we can do more of them. You make a difference this week by doing that. We're going to keep making a difference every way we can. Tons of science coming your way. We're going to be diving into some new territory when we look at
Starting point is 00:09:31 the Great Reset. All of that is happening. I've never been happier to be alive. I never knew humanity was needed the way it's needed now. I hope you feel the same.
