Please welcome the CEO of Urban Global Health Alliance and one of your MCs for today.
Kevin Jenkins.
Now, folks, we got some work to do today.
Are we going to work today?
We're going to work for God today?
We're going to work for family today?
Now, that's what I want you to do.
Now, I'm very excited, but we have to do something.
We have to show respect today.
I want all of you to raise your hand.
Everyone in this audience all the way back there, raise your hand.
I want us to take a moment of silence for all of the mama bears that have been fighting for decades.
I want to, listen, I want you to pay attention because I want you to be present.
I want you to keep those hands up for all of the firemen and doctors and nurses
and all the people that have lost their jobs because they're standing up for us and standing up for freedom.
I want you to keep those hands up because I want you to be present.
I want you to pray for every child that's been damaged, every family has been broken.
I want you to understand why we're here.
We're here to reclaim our territory.
We're here to ask God for protection.
We're here to show respect for the people and the freedom fighters that have been doing the work.
Because guess what?
God is with them.
God is with us.
You're not here.
I want you to be clear.
You're not here just to be here.
You were here because something clicked in your brain.
for this moment. You're here because we're going to regenerate this soil, we're going to plant
the seeds for the future, we're going to show the world that we understand freedom. Now keep
those hands up, keep those hands up because I want every person at home that lost a loved one.
I want every person to know that we are here because we love them. We are here because of their
God courage. We are here because they stood in the public square and say, not my body.
Now we're going to have some fun.
Now listen, folks.
Can I speak?
Is this on?
Okay.
Now listen, I got eight minutes.
I'm going to take eight and a half minutes.
Because let me tell you why.
Lift those signs up.
I want the world to see all of you.
Lift those signs up back there.
Lift those signs up.
This is our message to the rest of the country.
This is our message to the rest of the world.
This is where they find hope.
Because today we're talking about building that bridge to the future.
Well, guess what?
I have a great idea.
A world with no bigotry, a world with no hatred, a world with no segregation, a world that's full of love.
Because today we're going to claim love.
We're going to find peace in our heart.
Even for the tyrants that believe they want to be out God.
We're going to show them that the reason why we're here is because we were chosen for this moment.
because I know why I'm here
I know why I'm here I'm here because God
said to me this cannot stand
we are fighting for every child
every mother every institution
that's standing up for us
but see
when I was on my way over here
I prayed to my grandmother Lily Mae
I said Lily May I got to say something profound
she said just tell the truth
she said tell the truth
this is our defining moment
this is where
people are going to say that we
stood in the gap for humanity that we stood up against the tyranny of our time and then as I was
driving here there's a favorite song of mine that says Lord help me now ask God to help me to send
all of you the right message I wanted God to speak to me so I can come before you with the right
spirit and I got to tell you when I came into this audience my whole spirit was lifted
my whole life changed I've traveled 300,000 miles in this country
and I know America.
And guess what?
We are not slaves, are we?
No, are we for, were we about freedom?
Keep them signs up.
Now let me tell you something.
I also said Malcolm Martin, Barrowson, Frederick Douglass,
Harriet Tubman, who crossed the sea, crossed the water for us.
I said, I'm going to claim that energy.
I'm going to claim that spirit.
I'm going to claim that hope.
I'm going to claim that love.
I'm going to claim it all.
Because we deserve it.
We are not here to live in fear.
We are here right now.
I can put those signs down.
On each other's hands now.
I've got something for you to do.
Now, I want them to hear you in the Hill Country in Texas.
I want them to hear you in Boston, in Chicago, in North New Jersey.
I want them to hear you.
Now, this is what we're going to do.
We're going to show them why we're here.
You ready?
Look at each other and say,
I love you. That is the message for the day. We love each other.
