Starting point is 00:00:00 something and you never know who really needs to hear a compliment yeah i love getting a compliment from a stranger me too especially a woman i was just about to say only women really i love getting a compliment from women yeah well first of all how was your holiday it was good it was so exhausting yeah because who did you have i had my mom my dad their puppy a rover dog polly our dog and frank that would send me into psychosis it just about did i had my first panic attack in like five years congrats thank you so much i'm so back and my brother and his wife were staying down the street um which is that's a little bit of a relief it was and i was so jealous of them because they got to just leave
Starting point is 00:01:02 yeah my brother was like we have a couch if you want it i'm like please take me with you but it was good it was just exhausting um hosting is like i understand why the adults around me were always so frantic during the holidays yeah because when you're hosting and also trying to enjoy it it's just a little crazy um and we just had to play like we had to choreograph so much with the puppy because polly's back like if the puppy jumped on her back it would have like been curtains for polly yeah so that was that took up a lot of my time but i mean like when i when i zoom out and like try to ignore how crazy it was it was really great like it was a good holiday you were traveling yeah i spent the holidays with mr liz and his family that's
Starting point is 00:01:49 like so adult yeah that well this is my first christmas that i wasn't with my parents were you sad not really that's good because and i feel like such a grinch saying this but like traveling for the holidays is the bane of my existence oh yeah i fucking hate it and then both my parents and mr liz's parents live rurally but at least his parents are like near a bigger airport my parents are like three hours away from a major airport like that's wild they're so inconvenient to get to i would feel so isolated if i lived three hours from an airport there's no direct flights to either yeah there's no direct flights so you know you have a freaking red eye i and i just push through i don't even sleep on the plane i don't even try to sleep that's crazy i stuck it
Starting point is 00:02:45 out i decided to i listened to the entire throne of glass series wow last month so this trip i listened to the last two books sorry i just had a moment look at your nails i've been doing so fun thank you um for our listener only listeners which is everyone which is most of us um i've been doing what's it called oh cat's eye cat eye cat eye nails yeah um so i did like a silver and underneath it's like a very pale pink oh like a neutral color that combo because i wanted it to be kind of silvery yeah i did cat eye too but it's bluey i love cat's eye me too it's so fun it's so um dynamic yeah and they just kind of like catch your eye maybe they're like really good for adhd that's what cat eye is for catch eye wow we're on to you big nail we're on to you
Starting point is 00:03:43 big manicure yeah i have a an established nail girl now hell yeah helen shout out helen love helen um does she talk during the appointment yeah that's the best we chit chat yeah i love a little chit chat yeah but sometimes like would they really want to yap because sometimes i'll go in early in the morning and they like haven't gotten their yaps out yet and i'm like I can't I'm so tired I'm in here for a nap I'm not online yet yeah we wanted to do ins and outs and then I didn't think of any because she had a million people over at her house yeah and I feel like I'm still sleeping that off but I do have some predictions yeah I think those those go hand in hand but before we dive into that I have two things that I want to talk about they're like
Starting point is 00:04:31 really small topics and then we can get into the the mert and perturbers of the episode i don't know why i said meat and potatoes like that it's 20 i didn't know what you're saying i'm glad that you mert and perturbers let's do the whole podcast like that okay so my 20s let's do that was like such a thing in like 2016 ermengard ermengard um okay so the first thing that i was just reminded of when i was peeing was that you are not up to speed on things that are happening on tiktok right now no have you heard about the 365 buttons no drama it's not really drama but there's this girl who i think her name's tamera she commented on a video being like i'm gonna get 365 buttons oh wait yes i have heard about i i don't know if i saw this like people talking about it on like
Starting point is 00:05:23 threads or something it's so but yeah she said i'm gonna get 365 buttons like one for each day and then people are like asking for clarification like what are you gonna do with the buttons and she's been like really rude about people like like what do you mean like are you going to you just where do you get the button like what do you what kind of button where are you gonna put them like she's like i don't want to answer this get a job she's like being so cagey about it ultimate troll it's she's making merch now well and then what what did she say like it i realized it like only makes sense to me or something yeah yeah yeah she's like i i don't want to have to explain it because it'll it only has to make sense to me
Starting point is 00:06:03 yeah it's what she said which i mean slay fucking funny yeah that is kind of everyone should live their life like tamara but i thought that was so fucking funny and she's i just saw that she's making merch which is why it's now top of mind um the second thing i wanted to talk about that i just found out about last night so i was watching football with my handsome boyfriend and aaron rogers pops up on the screen because he's the quarterback for pittsburgh the steelers they were playing the ravens and i'm like yeah for sure both i totally know what's going on and aaron rogers had a wedding ring on and i was like aaron rogers got married because last i checked he was dating olivia munn right before she ended up with john mulaney before that he was with danica patrick
Starting point is 00:06:52 so like he has had very public relationships and i'm like why haven't i heard about this and frank was like is he married to himself no or something i mean he would be married to jesus but he is nobody knows who his wife is and all that we know is that her name is britney b-r-i-t-t-a-n-i which sounds like a like you know my girl I swear I have a girlfriend she just goes to a different school kind of name you know and like none of like the wives and girlfriends of the other players on the team have met her like she's like skipped all of the events like he's been married to her for like six months you know what I I like if she's real I fully do not blame her because the way that the general public treats like anyone who's like a semi-public figure like is insane and if
Starting point is 00:07:44 she didn't sign up to be a public figure like i can be i can understand being like no i want to remain well a mystery totally and i feel like there are a lot of people that have married celebrities that successfully do that but people still know their name you know and they're just like out of the spotlight like matt damon we haven't even seen her like like i feel like paparazzi is committed enough to like wait to see who comes out of his house you know what i mean like they're they're creepy enough to do that i don't know if this person is real and he's just off his rocker enough that i feel like he doesn't have a wife and she doesn't exist but this reminded me of you'd be able to look up marriage records is that a thing you can't yeah people
Starting point is 00:08:22 looked him up they can't find him anywhere he like talks about like well you know i don't know what i'm gonna do after this season it's a conversation i'm gonna have to have with my wife and people are like aaron we know you're not married what why well didn't one guy like makeup that he had a girlfriend yeah there was like a whole documentary about that she was like she died yeah car crash yeah oh cancer yeah yeah yeah oh my god yeah what was that guy's name anyway it's easy to google if you want to read more about that that was a wacky story that was when we were in college yeah i remember that that that was i forgot about that that's fun but you know aaron rogers he's like big on like the conspiracy train and like is a
Starting point is 00:09:01 like mega anti-vaxxer and like you know he's i feel like he's gotten like one too many blows to the head the ct is really setting in i've seen no son of mine is ever gonna play football fucking like i can't i watch these men get like i don't know how they don't snap in half on the field but anyway okay so regardless this reminded me of this guy whose nickname on the podcast is sunset i haven't talked about him for like three years give some backstory to the listeners if they don't know who sunset is or really remember i don't i don't remember why why did you call him that because he always called me when there was like when he was on the roof watching a sunset he was like that's so gay i feel like he was also lying about that just seems
Starting point is 00:09:46 like some like fucking like poet boy bullshit oh for sure and he was very like a perform that's performative male business oh yeah i'm on the roof watching the sunset and i'm thinking about you yeah and at the time i was like ow because like he has or had i guess because he's not really like doing the social media stuff anymore he like had a following and i was like really excited that he was giving me attention you know what i mean at the time that was 20 early 2021 that this was all going down but um he I had like posted something on TikTok like that was like BDSM adjacent and he messaged me on Instagram or on TikTok and was like you should take the BDSM quiz like just kind of went in like hard on the that talk yeah and that was his first exposure to me now that
Starting point is 00:10:43 we're older and now that like we both know more about bdsm any man who's like trying to be your intro intro introducer yeah to bdsm is a fucking creep yeah 100 like if you're not kind of like figuring it out on your own or like they're sliding into your dms to teach you about bdsm i'm like i don't know yeah no he he was very clearly like a poser too he's one of those these guys that and this is actually getting to my point of why i thought about him in relation to this aaron rogers thing he's one of those guys that gives men dating advice and like it's all very like problematic and he's also like in his mid-40s and single and is has had like very explosive breakups that are all clearly his fault and is out here giving problematic advice to men
Starting point is 00:11:41 i just feel like if all of your breakups are explosive and you are no longer in your 20s like there's got to be something wrong 100 and it's always the woman's fault too so anyway he sucks um and honestly if you did a quick search online you could probably figure out who it is i'm not going to say and i will not confirm but you could figure out who it is yeah um anyway he his whole thing was whenever he's dating someone he keeps them secret because he doesn't want people to like intervene in the relationship no he keeps them secret so he could cheat on them exactly 100 he's like if people don't know this is not what he said but in my mind if people don't know who she is then if they see him out with someone they will be like oh that's the girlfriend you
Starting point is 00:12:27 can't confirm or deny because you don't know who she is that's disgusting to me i i don't know there's just like something about men who are influencers that like gives me the ick like why are you as a man an influencer yeah why are you as a man making content that isn't like giving back in some way do you have any exceptions to that rule um i mean i love philip defranco oh yeah but he's doing like important work yeah but he didn't start out doing that yeah that's true like now he's doing something important um i think that gay men are okay yeah you know they could they'll do they can do whatever they want yeah yeah in my eyes they do no wrong yeah the girls and the gays i support their rights and wrongs like matt i i actually don't even know his last
Starting point is 00:13:15 name because his handles are always like matt xi oh yeah yeah yeah whatever yeah uh love what he's doing um yeah i think those are the only two men that i'm like okay yeah uh you like um danny gonzalez yeah i i wouldn't say i like drew gooden more than i get the two of them confused they don't even look alike but they're like friends and they have the same sense of humor exactly i think drew gooden is a lot funnier to be honest but yeah i would say those two if you showed me a picture of them i wouldn't tell you i wouldn't be able to tell you who's who content they're not out here like okay so it's not like tiktok logan paul and jake paul you know logan paul might not ever fight again because of how hard he got hit jake paul got hit
Starting point is 00:13:59 so hard got his jaw broken in so many places that it could have killed him and so he's like that's a little crazy in that bananas but like what the fuck were you thinking kind of satisfying about watching him get punched in the fucking face i still haven't seen the video i'm a little scared he looks scared and then i don't know the other fighter's name uh he could have killed him if he wanted to he he's just like so collected and confident and like he looks like he's not even trying yeah and he just like has him in a corner and he just oh god punches him right in the freaking face why does anybody want to do that sport i don't know that's my question yeah i think there's something kind of weird about or people that pay like 200 for like the pay-per-view
Starting point is 00:14:40 mr liz posed a great question to me um that him and his friends were talking about and the question is like i feel like i'm phrasing this terribly like what sport is the is a red flag like if they're it's their favorite sport and he told me to rank them oh that's a really good question what was your answer well top is ufc first i said football because i was like you watch ufc fights and he's like yeah i watch it with like other people who do jujitsu it's not like you know he's not like into the fights he's not he doesn't know who these people are yeah he's just kind of like hanging out with his friends who also do jujitsu and kind of observing yeah yeah i feel like it does it changes if they're watching it for the enjoyment of the sport rather
Starting point is 00:15:30 than the social aspect there are two like there there are different types of people who watch yeah who watch it and then he was like no like it's like their whole personality like they're really into it and i was like okay that would be a problem then yeah if they're whole if they're i would say ufc and then football um and then maybe soccer i don't know oh interesting baseball soccer are you just listing all the sports in order um but the least problematic i said was basketball okay interesting because i think i don't know i just thought of frank yeah he loves basketball and i feel like basketball dudes they have fun yeah they do he also more fun group of people he is such a huge dodgers fan to the baseball team yeah see i don't think baseball
Starting point is 00:16:20 fans are they don't they just kind of chill baseball boys don't seem problematic to me no for the most part no i'm trying to think anytime you see a video of someone being crazy at a i think hockey's fun yeah i think it's fine like especially because like when they fight top two are ufc and football i think top one for me is ufc i don't think i don't agree with football i just think there's such a community aspect with football that i don't really know very many men that like would punch a hole in their wall unless they have money on the game to me it's a little crazy that like football fans like their entire day could be ruined if their team loses and i think that's so true that's very true you think that's kind of odd it is I don't think there's
Starting point is 00:17:11 any like sort of public figure that I feel that way about or like a public activity that I'm like I don't know like if I'm watching a reality show I'm not like it doesn't ruin my day if my favorite contestant gets sent home yeah totally totally yeah the investment in it is a little yeah I just think I don't know my answer to this would be it would be like in varying degrees because I wouldn't say football but if their days are being ruined that is a little like you know so it's not the sport so much as it is the like the specific sect of person I feel like the only thing I mean obviously it's gonna vary from person to person I'm just thinking I just feel like with UFC it's like overall like you know what I mean like I can't people that actually like watching people
Starting point is 00:17:55 get the shit kicked out of them like is weird to me you know there's something inside that makes you feel like well like even even though jake paul fucking sucks like and it was a little satisfying watching him get knocked in the face like i and i don't sometimes i don't like this about myself i still like feel bad for them of course yeah should we do ins and outs yeah let's do it okay so i made a whole thing i also made notes but oh my god you like really went all in i only did this today okay um and it was a great that makes me feel better for forgetting it doing work okay so these are my 20 26 ins and outs um ins flossing your teeth hell yeah flossing is in um they say floss the ones you want to keep yeah and on like now that i floss every single day
Starting point is 00:18:49 there's something that feels disgusting when i don't absolutely your teeth feel so clean and i know i've talked about this before but i'm a big fan of mouth spa um which is when i floss with regular floss and then i followed up with my water flosser and then i brush with my electric toothbrush fuck yeah you got me on the water flosser game i it's really good for your gums yeah it can be intense but oh my god once you go to the dentist dude they're gonna be like impressed oh yeah they were so they were floored but like if you don't know if you have sensitive teeth like me don't put cold water in your water flosser it was the worst experience of my life i felt like i was getting stabbed in my gums mine was dying so i like recharged it and it got so
Starting point is 00:19:29 intense after that and i'm like oh fuck yeah my gums are gonna bleed um i think b oh wait i only did flossing um substack i think substack is gonna be big 2026 agreed um i've come across just some really amazing writing on substack i could see you going viral on substack i i have yet to ever post anything on sub stack i've reposted a few articles that i love um but i like it like you can write like long form stuff um you can like pay to subscribe to certain newsletters you can also like just write regular posts almost like a tweet uh love it i love it yeah it's just everyone's talking about it i think that well the thing i like about sub stack is like it's a subscriber based platform and i think there's something to be said about a subscription
Starting point is 00:20:23 based future because i think we're all fucking sick of advertisements being shoved down our throats for sure so i and i don't mean subscription based like subscriptions for like netflix and hbo or whatever i think that's all a bunch of bullshit um a bunch of corporate money grabs yeah um but i mean like actual content that you want to be consuming yeah so i think something like substack is definitely gonna flourish in the near future totally um and that'll also take money out of the hands of ai too because i think people are going to be like if you choose to subscribe to people then they're you know their your money is being used for that rather than you know seeing like the sora videos all over your feed and like you know the very obviously chat gbt written
Starting point is 00:21:14 comments on things it's just also i'm over it i i think that i'm not gonna read down the tiktok i know i feel so good without it good for you i know it was hard the first the first month was hard i might re-download it just to watch all the videos you've sent me no don't do it because you're gonna get stuck on the i don't think i will you won't okay then do it because there's some gold on there i still have um screens in to monitor my okay or limit my screen time it's just a it's it's built to be addictive so i feel like yeah if you if like knowing me if i just like redownloaded it temporarily i would never get off of it you know what i mean um okay being offline i think that's gonna be popular in 20 that was like a really good segue i i just oh yeah from
Starting point is 00:21:59 what i was saying yeah yeah i think that i don't know like i i don't want i don't know if my personal experience is like applicable to the general public but like are you fucking sick of being online kind of like yeah i kind of have been it's exhausting well and like you've said before you are really only on tiktok when you're posting something yeah and i mean that's kind of how i feel about social media because it is my job and since it's my day job i don't want to fucking be participating in it afterwards and then like i'll like just observing myself when i'm like scrolling through like instagram or threads or whatever like it's just a bunch of rage slop yeah everywhere you look and i don't want to i don't want to be sitting here reading rage slop
Starting point is 00:22:51 or like watching car accident videos like i it drives me insane yeah and i don't know when i realize i'm doing it i'm like fuck this and i close it because i i want to be consuming things that are fun that make me happy like i don't need to be constantly like bombarded and pelted with like the worst news you've ever read no like 100 that's why i watch my my daily news recap i'll do a quick scroll just to see what's going on and then i'm done yeah because i i like cannot take any more you know those boundaries are so great because like i mean when we're recording this like we're at war with venezuela and and i had no idea why until yesterday because i've been like making a point to not be catching up with the news which is a privilege but like i really
Starting point is 00:23:41 i had no idea what was going on with venezuela i was like why did we bomb venezuela i mean it still i think that's how everyone felt well true but like i still i asked frank i'm like what's going on and like he explained everything to me and i'm like how did i miss all of that they've been like yeah like bombing them here and there that's wild see i just like haven't been i've trump has bombed eight countries in one year the peace president everyone this is the peace president you voted for moving on to happier subjects um other things that are in um thrifting and antiquing love it uh consumables and services as as gifts yes i think we'll be in um boycotting and i mean it because i think that like i read this really amazing article on substack and it
Starting point is 00:24:28 was just about it's called the consumption ritual so this is called this article is called the consumption ritual by jermaine fowler on substack and this is like the first paragraph you're scrolling your thumb stops on a woman with 42 stanley cups arranged by color on custom shelving like a shrine a 45 tumbler designed to be reusable purchased 42 times because hydration became an aesthetic you keep scrolling a cooking creator wraps five a five pound block of cheese and bacon deep fries it takes one bite the rest goes in the trash everyone knows he knows you keep scrolling the phone in your hand like a rosary the altar of the algorithm and add every third video like a tithe the lubu dolls the timu halls the sheehan halls 25 items of clothing for 57 clothes so cheap
Starting point is 00:25:19 they're not meant to survive in a washing machine your ring camera blinks a package on the porch there's a smudge on the lens or maybe it's raining you don't remember ordering anything something is wrong we can feel it a 1955 retail analyst named victor laboe wrote it down our enormously productive economy demands that we make consumption our way of life that we convert the buying and use of goods into rituals that we seek our spiritual satisfactions our ego satisfactions in consumption we need things consumed burned up worn out replaced and discarded at an ever-increasing pace that was written in 1955 wow and it's become even more so like yeah i don't know and um the article goes on to talk about how like boycotting like and really
Starting point is 00:26:10 sticking to boycotting can make a difference yeah some people have understood consumption as a moral category that what you buy implicates you and how it was made in 1791 the british parliament refused to abolish the slave trade petitions had been signed arguments had been made the institution held so abolitionists tried something else they called for a boycott of sugar sugar was the oil of its era the commodity that made empires rich that sweetened the tea that had become a national ritual that was produced almost entirely by enslaved africans on caribbean plantations under conditions of absolute horror a pamphlet circulated that year by william fox made the argument plain if we purchase the commodity we participate in the crime the slave
Starting point is 00:26:55 dealer the slave holder and the slave driver are virtually agents of the consumer and may be considered as employed and hired by him to procure the commodity then the line that landed in every pound of sugar used we may be considered as consuming two ounces of human flesh by 19 or by 1792 400 000 britons had joined the boycott sales of west indian sugar dropped by a third shops began advertising east india sugar not made by slaves women led the effort sugar was a domestic purchase tea was served at home the kitchen became a site of political action and i think that's like the main message that obviously like i took from this is like you do have power in what you purchase but like to think to yourself like i don't really i'm just one person if i just make
Starting point is 00:27:45 this one purchase it doesn't matter where whereas like you you can make a difference yeah and like language makes a difference absolutely anyways i thought that was a really incredible article yeah that's well written that's just like one tiny piece of it but uh it's phenomenal um prioritizing your health i think is in absolutely i think that it's it's in in a different way it's not like oh i'm doing self-care and i'm like hydrating and like i don't think prioritizing your health is going to be an aesthetic yeah i think it's going to be like okay uh things are getting really fucked up with health care like if you need to invest in your health now while while you're healthy yeah not when you're sick totally health is wealth i think that cabbage is in and this was
Starting point is 00:28:33 also on pinterest predicts but i think cabbage is going to be in because for a few reasons i don't think cabbage will be in as an aesthetic i think it's going to be in as a an ingredient i think that fiber is the new protein and cabbage lasts a long time in the fridge and like groceries are so fucking expensive yeah so i think cabbage will be popular because like how kale was yeah yeah it lasts a long time in the fridge and you can put it in so many things and like anytime there's kind of like a skinny era like i really think that we're in like a kind of a too thin era but cabbage is always really popular for skinny people for some reason yeah um personally i like cabbage because it lasts a long time and it's good in soup so um in england and so then in my household
Starting point is 00:29:21 growing up because of my dad we uh there's a lot of bubble and squeak which is cabbage and mashed potatoes for breakfast and it's so fucking good highly recommend if you ever have the chance to try it cabbage is also kimchi so that's you're fucking cooking girl and i love true queen yeah no i do too um i think natural looking beauty will be in so i think we're gonna see filler being dissolved i think we're gonna see veneers being resized to look like normal teeth um i think that plastic surgery is gonna be undetectable where like you look at someone and you're like i don't know what's different about them but they are kind of glowing maybe they're happier um because i don't know because like i think people are we had kind of this era where people are
Starting point is 00:30:10 looking a little too crazy yeah like with the crazy like i don't know it there's something really jarring when you're just like scrolling and you see someone with lip fillers yeah i'm like that there's something that doesn't look normal about that totally and i don't know if i would have thought that like 10 years ago i don't know if i would have been like that's lip filler especially from the side i feel like if sometimes i can't tell yeah sometimes i can't tell from the front but then they turn to the side and i'm like oh yeah please yeah i think the lip filler has to go and i think the big eyelashes have to go yep um yeah i think we're gonna see a lot more makeup looks with no mascara oh that's good news for me i think being kind not
Starting point is 00:30:48 polite is in or will be in and i mean this in like being kind to strangers at the store like being more conversational with complete strangers kind of like pre-covid i think covid has kind of made people a little too individualistic and i think everyone's like okay i fucking hate this i'm gonna go outside and like talk to the bartender or something yeah yeah i and i've been trying to do this more because i used to be so much more conversational with strangers but seattle is like frigid like you're walking around the grocery store and people pretend that they can't even fucking see you like there's a million people in this store you need to be use your words say excuse me yeah i don't know if it's like that in other states but i think it's
Starting point is 00:31:32 bizarre um i think gift guides are gonna be in oh i love a gift guide because i think we're all sick of buying shit but like it's hard to you're like okay if i don't want to buy shit then like what do i do so i think gift guides are going to be in um and i think that people are going to prioritize like how thoughtful they are and like get creative with gifts um and prioritize on quality and environmental impact so like more homemade consumables more thrifted items more handmade gifts i think all of that will be more popular love it uh spending time with friends in your community and community care so like you need human interaction to live well kind of like what i was saying like i don't know just like go on talk to people talking to someone yeah a little
Starting point is 00:32:21 bit yeah um taxis i think taxis are in hell yeah and i think uber and lyft the those are out interesting it was like i mean at least taxis like sure it'll cost around the same price but taxi drivers usually have like better benefits like they're part of a um a company they have like background checks actually done on them like lyft and uber don't really do background checks yeah and that's why you get ads for class action lawsuits for being sexually assaulted in an uber or lyft um yeah but it's been proven that they don't like do accurate background checks they don't give a shit they like really take advantage of um the drivers and at least taxi drivers like they have a background check done on them they're they can be i i don't know this for sure maybe
Starting point is 00:33:14 they're part of a union but i'm sure they are they can receive health care benefits and like yeah there's and they know their way around the city better like i totally would rather take a taxi than an uber yeah so let's let's support taxi drivers everyone they need to be easier to order is the only issue yeah the ease of uber and lyft really have what it's what has made them king i mean yeah like every time we've gotten a taxi like it depends on the hour but it usually works out um but sometimes if they're like if it's taking too long for us to get a taxi then we'll have to get an uber but yeah leaving the airport you can get right into a taxi yeah you don't have to fucking wait around for your uber driver like try and figure out where they are and i also think
Starting point is 00:34:01 me i don't know if this is exclusive to seattle but like the fucking uber and lyft drivers here are so bad at driving yeah i i hate them because i get so nauseous and you know what i will say my taxi drive home from the airport i felt like i was gonna projectile vomit you're also getting sick though yeah but this was one of the worst really yeah one of the worst car sicknesses i've oh no um anyways um i think flirting with sobriety is in so like not not being like totally sober but like maybe having just one or two drinks when you hang out with your friends or yeah like eating half a gummy like i just think that people are not going to be as like high or drunk as they once were yeah and more and more people are
Starting point is 00:34:51 uh quitting drinking totally yeah i don't really drink anymore yeah i don't i feel like i don't drink that much either and then i uh took a break from weed for about a month and then i like had a few gummies um when i got home and i was just not into it wow yeah yeah when you see what it's like without it's like do i really need this yeah i'm like maybe here and there but i'm not really into it anymore that's good yeah well save me some money too um i'm almost at the end of my in list uh pickles i think pickles are in were they ever not that's true like were they ever not but i was thinking about like charcuterie boards and i feel like we're done with the meats we're done with the cheeses it's all about the pickles yeah the pickled vegetables on a charcuterie board are
Starting point is 00:35:41 what makes a charcuterie board good hell yeah um mezcal i think mezcal in cocktails will be in okay um and maybe that's just for me because i like mezcal yeah you know sometimes i went through a mezcal phase but then i quickly came out of it i cycle through things yeah yeah but there's something about mezcal like a smoky tequila in like a fruity drink that is just like when it's done right it's so good yeah i feel like mezcal and blueberry go really well together interesting mezcal and pomegranate wow two like kind of sour fruits yeah i don't know yeah i feel like you need that kind of like the sweet sourness yeah like cut the like smoke yeah yeah like because mezcal can be so harsh but i know it's a polarizing it is flavor yeah just like gin gin is very
Starting point is 00:36:33 polarizing too yeah um and this is my last thing and i will say this was at the top of my list for ins for 2025 bangs i was ahead of the curve and i really wanted bangs this time last year and i've had a beautiful journey with my bangs yeah you really have been they've been all types of lengths they've been all types of thicknesses and um i've cut them myself i've had them cut by a professional and we've really figured each other out like yeah I've I've I think that baby bangs really fit my face I've come to love them like the first time I cut my bangs this short I was like oh my god they're too short and now I'm like they look right yeah yeah yeah they do right on my face I agree um I've gotten better at styling them figuring out little tricks for my
Starting point is 00:37:24 bangs and I have noticed more people are getting bangs yeah have you noticed that I have but I've also i think a big part of that too is taylor swift and sabrina carpenter's bangs because like they both have such iconic bangs like taylor's are so heavy she's always she's had bangs for a long time she's had bangs for a very long time but now it feels like it's really like they feel i can't really explain it it feels like the main part of her hair whereas before it was like just a part like a feature yeah i wonder if she had one i think she did i don't know what i haven't been paying attention it looks like she's going on with her it feels like she gets extensions in her bank she has a lot of bangs and then sabrina carpenter like she was like leading the hair
Starting point is 00:38:06 theory conversation of like you know if like people changing their hair and becoming famous look really good on her yeah and it feels like a lot of people are like bringing those pictures into their i think i'm well i i don't i think we're gonna see a variety of bangs like i don't think it's just gonna be curtain bangs um or like straight across but i think we're gonna see all kinds of bangs we're gonna see curtain bangs we're gonna see baby bangs we're gonna see just classic bangs i think we're gonna see all kinds of bangs i've been noticing more ladies at work are getting bangs i love that and i'm like are they going through breakups no they are not well i don't know about one of them because she's new okay but the other one no i love bangs look really
Starting point is 00:38:48 good on her i love that yeah i think that yeah i think i look butch when i have bangs like straight across bangs i hate what i look like with bangs i haven't seen you as straight across bangs it's because i was moving i got them but kind of by accident i just got my bangs cut too short and i just kept sweeping them to the side because like when they were in front of my face i was like i look butch and also i look 10 years old i love the same times yeah on you i like a good curtain bang they just they look so cute especially when they're kind of around your cheekbones yeah because you have like such high cheekbones like i think that they are really complimentary to your face thank you so much i think the right bangs can do a lot for someone i agree and also
Starting point is 00:39:25 i will say if you're like playing with the idea of like getting bangs it's you're gonna get frustrated with them sometimes they're gonna look like shit but that is really important to your bang journey it's crucial absolutely it's a right passage when i look at the pictures of when i first gave myself bangs they looked awful like this time around um well the first time i didn't give myself bangs until like March okay um or maybe February but when I look at pictures I'm like oh my god they look so bad that's so funny I never thought I was trying to figure it out but like you have figured it out now so like of course you think that how they used to look wasn't great but I never thought that they looked bad thank you you're welcome we've come a long way we really
Starting point is 00:40:06 have bangs um are you ready for my outs I am we'll make this one quick oh I have ins that I don't support oh um so ins that I don't support smoking cigs no yeah fuck that that could not make a come back i think they're unfortunately i think they are making come back and for two different reasons i think that the younger people like i think gen z are smoking cigarettes because they're trying to quit vaping and this is their in between and um i think that that's crazy millennials are smoking cigarettes because the world everything sucks yeah and they're like oh fuck this i just need a cigarette yeah so i think that's what's happening love that and i think people who have ben smokers are like hell yeah yeah but welcome yeah i don't know millennials are like everything
Starting point is 00:40:52 sucks and i need a reason to go outside yeah yeah start smoking cigarettes get a dog yeah get a dog you need something to do get a dog yeah if you if everything sucks and you need to go outside can you imagine having nicotine withdrawals and then having to take care of a puppy no i would lose my mind um so that's one of the ins i don't support the other and i don't support is prediction markets okay uh have you heard of this yet yes um i can't remember one of one of them's called call calchi yes and then i can't remember what the other one is i can't either okay but here's the thing if you guys don't know what the fuck i'm talking about you're gonna see people talking about the prediction market and it is fucking bullshit a prediction market is not a real thing
Starting point is 00:41:35 that phrasing is pure marketing because what it really is is online betting yep you're you're gambling yep um it makes it sound like there's some kind of analysis involved there's not there is no sort of like analysis or like statistical learning that's happening it's just this is like peak grift yeah in my opinion um it's peak techno techno fascism where the most creative thing tech thought leaders can come up with is getting citizens to bet on future events uh it's the ultimate mlm in my opinion because it's like how can we get people to just give us their money and only a few people come out on top yep um it's also an unregulated way to participate in insider trading um i just one thing i think that is especially insidious about like this
Starting point is 00:42:26 prediction market bullshit is we've seen a huge jump in sports betting and um apps like that so and that predominantly like affects men yeah i think this is incredibly predatory towards men oh yeah and i think there's like kind of a crisis a masculinity crisis um and i think this is only going to make it worse so i don't know yes not my problem to solve all right outs we'll make this quick buying junk like crap from amazon fast fashion etc it's all poorly made anyways you're gonna be replacing it yeah it's gonna be shitty to begin with so skip it if you can and save for something higher quality or see if you can thrift it because i like you can find so much shit at goodwill especially if it's kitchen stuff like any type of thing you need for your kitchen go see if
Starting point is 00:43:17 they have it at goodwill yeah i bet they do like half the shit we have in our kitchen is from goodwill that reminds me um if you have black plastic utensils throw them out we have a black bowl a black plastic plastic bowl does it heat up often um when there's soup in it so here's the thing so any sort of our microwave is broken well that it's been broken the only like any plastic is bad to like heat up because of just like microplastics and like the the toxins that come off of them but a lot of black plastic utensils are like recycled like electronic plastic oh my and there are fumes on there that can cause cancer and like fuck with your fertility so anyway throw out all of your like spatulas and yeah i want to replace my i want to replace our
Starting point is 00:44:02 plastic cutting boards with wood ones that's a good idea and i bet you i have no doubt in my mind i can find wood cutting boards at goodwill probably yeah um yeah so definitely check out your local goodwill for kitchen items and i'm sure other stuff too i don't i get overwhelmed in goodwill so i don't really look at the clothes there's too many clothes yeah but so like for our friends our our little craft miss slash breakfast yeah um for my secret santa i want like she goes to a lot of like events like sporting events and concerts so i was like okay what if i get her like clear bags because if you're going into like an arena they want your bag to be clear um and of a certain size and i was like you know what i bet i could find those at goodwill and i found i found
Starting point is 00:44:52 many i found many there and i picked two that were so cute yeah and um i just cleaned them up which was actually kind of hard i spent like an hour scrubbing them because um clear plastic is actually like not super easy to clean which is weird uh and then i like made custom little um keychains to go on they were so cute they had a theme yeah uh but that was like a fun gift yeah and it meant so much too because she like that was so like specific to her too yeah that's why i was like different i gotta find something that she would actually use yeah so get creative it's really fun to get creative with gift giving um anyways other outs ai i think people don't give a shit about things made with ai like they don't want to see them yeah um i think there's going to
Starting point is 00:45:37 be a huge market for ai blockers oh for sure uh and i think we'll start yeah i think we'll start seeing ai blockers um and hopefully there's a huge push for ai regulation i think especially with what recently happened and is happening with grok like making child pornography um yeah i think though too like so many of these ai ceos are like in trump's pockets elon musk doesn't give of shit no um there's a major disconnect between execs and companies and actual like users and consumers of content uh i just think the type of person who loves ai probably also bought nfts oh yeah um i think mar-a-lago faces out i think it looks bad and in general i think we need to take plastic surgery more seriously because like permanently altering your face is a huge deal
Starting point is 00:46:32 everyone's getting their eyelids removed anymore that makes me sad she doesn't even look like herself anymore yeah well and i was reading um like comments on reddit like some people like don't recommend getting a upper or lower blepharoplasty especially upper blepharoplasty because that's what so many people do because you like your eyes are how you recognize yourself so then a lot of people end up regretting getting this because they didn't need it to begin with and now they like look unrecognizable they have like a body dysmorphia moment they're like who is that yeah that's scary i and i think it's just like we talk about it so lightly we talk about like oh what's what procedures has this person had and like yeah you can identify it but also like
Starting point is 00:47:17 i don't know really think about like do you want to permanently change your face yeah for something that is a trend yeah or do you want to permanently change something that you're really insecure about yeah it's like the buckle fat removal because then like now it's like i was gonna say i think that upper upper blepharoplasty is the new buckle fat yeah yeah and i don't know like because celebrities start doing it and then influencers start doing it which makes it seem like it's really accessible um and then like regular people start doing it and then you're like yeah you don't look like how i remember you yeah um again doordash uberlift etc those are all out i have that on my out too uber eats trump i think he's gonna die this year yeah um if he
Starting point is 00:48:05 doesn't die this year i will be genuinely shocked if he makes it to the end of his term yeah and i know people are like it's not even because i like want him to die it's because i like legitimately think that he is unwell for sure yeah and it's about this time each month like the end of the month well i guess last week was technically the end of the month where i think he like has something done because he always looks like shit at the end of the month oh yeah like super puffy oh yeah um tv and film executives i think they're out i think that they are like they don't know what people want they just are trying to make a lot of money yeah and then when it doesn't work out they're like shook like just how unhappy people are with this
Starting point is 00:48:52 last season of stranger things yeah um i think that's a good example i if any if you haven't seen the studio i highly recommend it because i think it's like a great look at how studio executives like are thinking about things and the type of pressure that is put on them but um it's starring seth rogan oh yeah and it's really funny it's it's very well it's a movie no tv show oh and i think it's on apple okay but uh um i think internet slop and slop in general is out that's why i think something like sub stack is gonna be in oh yeah and then getting your eyelids removed it is out love it so nice it made it twice um holy shit we've been talking for a long time okay well i don't have that many so okay and it turned into so what we're going to
Starting point is 00:49:43 be predictions i i have three predictions but most of them are on my ins and outs now um in long skincare rituals this is also very in for me i think because yeah that works my nighttime routine has been so long also i'm gonna give you my extras oh thank you okay i got the um under eye concealer i'm obsessed i'm obsessed right isn't it the best with it um i'm trying to remember what it's called rebecca it's like it's a woman's name yeah but it's really i was shocked at how small the bottle is for how expensive it is yeah but it really is so worth the price um colleen rothschild that's what it is colleen rothschild colleen rothschild the under eye illuminate yes it's like peachy yeah yeah it's a color corrector yeah that's why it's so effective it's so great
Starting point is 00:50:34 anyways continue um making your own clothes in uh cosign i start i put stars next to the ones that you already said so this was one that you said was like complimenting each other like talking out in public yeah i like that there was a woman in trader joe's that i loved her outfit so i was like i love your outfit you look gorgeous and she was so shocked like so caught off guard i think that and i'm like why didn't i tell that person my nice thought we always i think i don't know something about us as humans is wired to like be vocal about something like that you don't like yeah that's sad but like you know keep the the positives like between you and your friends or something and you never know who really needs to hear a compliment yeah i love getting a compliment
Starting point is 00:51:18 from a stranger me too especially a woman i was just about to say only women really i love getting a compliment from women yeah i can't think of something i would be okay with a man complimenting me on you know what actually a man complimented my backpack last year and i spent a lot of time researching for my backpack and it is unique so i i was like thank you hell yeah and that's something i think is okay to compliment i agree don't if you're a man don't compliment a woman on how she looks yes that feels safe also that just made me think of something that's why i'm writing something down um uh reading reviews that was something that i think like for like gift guides yeah yeah it's kind of gift guide adjacent i heavily research something before i buy it yeah
Starting point is 00:52:03 it doesn't matter and i really stress myself out but i think that um it's better to be really thoughtful about your purchases 100 and do a lot of investigating before you buy something yes yeah i think that's in i think that goes along with people not like really like investing in fast fashion as much anymore too like i think people are starting especially with the economy people are starting to like want to invest in more high quality things yes um i think bald men are going to be in um love that r slash bald is like having a moment right now and that makes me really happy for them yeah i saw something uh when charlie xcx married her husband george yeah um he's bald yeah and in the bald subreddit they're like huge win for bald dudes charlie
Starting point is 00:52:49 xcx it's a really supportive subreddit like they're they're like encouraging each other just to like shave your head like if they're the pair spinning you look so much they look so much better so much younger sometimes you just gotta let it go but you know who i love is the toupee queen have you seen any of this person's videos uh probably i love those videos so great where they glue the and they're they just look so much happier after yeah they and they it looks um i just love seeing the process yeah it's the same way i love watching someone like get a really good hairstyle done yeah if you've ever watched someone who's really good at extensions oh my god it's so satisfying so satisfying um i think eyebrow piercings are gonna come back interesting
Starting point is 00:53:32 unfortunately i don't like them but i do i support an eyebrow you know i think i've just not liked so many people that have eyebrow piercings that i what about how do you feel about lip piercings i hate lip piercings i i'm a supporter of lip piercings you remember snake bites like big on my space days i hate that it does something for me um i think men you're gonna get your lip pierced mr liz um i think men stepping into help is gonna be in i hope so i watched this video of this woman getting like harassed by some like rando that came in from the street at this coffee shop she was at and this random man that was also in the coffee shop just came and sat down and pretended that he was there with her and the guy left what if there we
Starting point is 00:54:17 need like a masculinity renaissance where it's like a different version of masculinity that isn't so like horrible and toxic yeah that feels like yeah we need more phoenix joneses who's that phoenix jones is a uh seattle vigilante oh my god that's right isn't he problematic yeah oh well he he also like uh but you know at least he uh did vigilante justice yeah and you know that's more than a lot of people can say yeah i think he like punched someone he challenged someone to a duel um which is that's so loud that's legal that's so medieval yeah this it's it's legal to have a duel in seattle uh because if you if you challenge someone to a duel then it's like okay you agreed to this yeah but he uh he challenged
Starting point is 00:55:08 someone to a that's crazy called him a racial slur wow so well deserved i've the laws laws are crazy i i read a i read a an article that said it was legal i'm i'm me spreading misinformation i don't know if it's actually legal would you challenge someone to a duel yeah if if someone uh said something insulting about me would you challenge them to a duel jiu-jitsu is kind of a duel it'd be on site it wouldn't even be a duel that's a correct answer um andrew jackson the president yeah he's a terrible person but he challenged someone to a duel for calling his wife ugly oh my god what a king i mean no but there was uh one of my like
Starting point is 00:56:07 great great great great grandparents there was like a there had a picture of him in the room that i used to stay in at my parents house he um fought to the death and literally got killed like defending the honor of a woman it's like one of my most favorite samson fun facts that's crazy um okay so that was my in list my out list is short uber eats like you said yeah especially in seattle the fees are insane and it the only person that actually benefits is surprisingly the consumer of the food oh really yeah it fucks over the restaurant it fucks over the driver i hate that even though it is so expensive i don't know i look at um if i want to order food i'll pull it up on maps and they usually have like if they have something ordering online they'll have
Starting point is 00:56:54 like preferred by business and sometimes you can order directly through their website so i prefer to do that or just call for a pickup i love that i i would rather just pick up my order so me and frank were very cheap we got pho last night and ate at the place too and i it was such a delightful experience like the people that owned it were like running it and they were just so like proud of their space and i'm like i would have missed out on this if i would have gotten it ordered let's go let's go support our local businesses in person yeah we need to we need to be hanging out more yeah that goes along with we're hanging out yeah hanging out is in um i think etsy is gonna be out yeah etsy is basically becoming amazon it sucks there's so much ai on there
Starting point is 00:57:37 and like they have just like problematic like they have like they had alligator alcatraz merch on there um and like it's the creators of the stuff have to charge more because etsy takes such huge fees out i think etsy's out um damn kratom out what's that it's like this like legal like drugs or uh well it's a drug but it's like a gas station drink that people get like addicted to oh i've heard of this wow i didn't even know it was in but it's out no there's something else that's like that and it's called like live free it might have create a man probably yeah and then people are like i got addicted to this and like i've spent all my money there was like 16 year olds like begging for it outside of gas stations yeah that's scary shit um i think
Starting point is 00:58:24 street interviewers are gonna be out good those like gotcha interviews the reason i thought of this was because of the hawk to a girl that's crazy that we made that girl famous from that talk to uh um my predictions talk to uh my predictions are short um i think kylie and timothy chalamet are gonna get married secretly i i like that for them i like it too they feel like very low-key about their relationship i don't know anything about either of them and i like it that way yeah he just thanked her yesterday at the critics choice awards and that's so sweet oh um i think there's gonna be a risk of a meteor we need to lean towards it yeah we're trying to get hit i don't there's not one actively but that's my prediction
Starting point is 00:59:07 oh okay that's a good clarification because it does feel like we're not we aren't um investing in like protecting ourselves like we used to with trump shutting down like every government agency ever and i think that nobody's watching the meteors i think there's going to be one that comes to us without us knowing oh my god what if it hits the white house that'd be amazing i was gonna say isn't that bruce willis and ben ben affleck oh live tyler live tyler hell yeah the hot daughter hot daughter there could have been a better way to describe her that's all you that's all you needed to say elf well i guess all the elves are hot hot are you you're lying and on that note oh i just watched the diehard
Starting point is 01:00:07 movies by the way live tyler is so beautiful i rewatched lord of the rings on the plane wow great plane movie really long movie that's why it's a great plane that's true you can fall asleep oh my god like four hours and still not done i didn't tell you this when i was on the flight back and i was watching lord of the rings i was on i was in the aisle there was another girl in the window and then this older man sat in the middle like probably like our dad's age so 50s 60s um and immediately had annoying energy oh yeah and there's something about like kind of like a snivelly annoying man you know what i mean and not just like a like a macho annoying man and they thrive in those environments too yes he sits in the middle and i have my headphones in and
Starting point is 01:00:53 he's like so where are you guys going oh and then he's like oh i guess i guess we're all going to seattle and then i just like didn't i i was like i'm not fucking talking to you dude and like he kept like you know when you someone like thinks you can just tell when someone wants attention and they're like being weird and annoying like that was his vibe the entire flight and he kept like trying to talk to the girl in the window i felt bad for her because she was like being polite she's also like stuck yeah yeah because i've already opted out i'm like i'm not replying to you i have my headphones in but while i was watching lord of the rings at one point he's staring at my screen and leaning into my space oh no and then i looked at him and i was like
Starting point is 01:01:35 okay that's so annoying i did make a face at him take a fucking clue what did you know you can watch lord of the rings on your own tv yeah and he was like messing with it trying to figure it out and like got headphones and everything and he had them in his ears and he wasn't watching anything what an interesting what an interesting archetype it does feel like oh also he told the girl next to us that his wife died and um his latest girlfriend he met online why i don't know he led with this he opened with my wife died and she's like oh i'm so sorry he's like yeah i met a girl online i'm like did you kill your wife because you're giving like wife killer energy what the fuck oh i don't see i just don't it's the lack of self-awareness it's this is the thing
Starting point is 01:02:18 everybody hates an airplane talker and there are still airplane talkers i always ask would you rather sit next to an airplane talker or a crying baby crying baby absolutely yeah like someone who wants to talk to you on is insistent about talking to you on the airplane yeah no definitely crying baby it like if it's not like natural polite little conversation yeah then you don't need to be having it no especially a man of your age like what is wrong with you i always think about my dad doing so i'm like my dad would fucking never yeah my dad is so like easygoing minds his own business yeah that's how i wish everybody was i wish everyone just minded their own business it would just be such as more like why are you as a man being weird yeah knock it off being weird
Starting point is 01:03:01 is for girls only yeah and cats clearly this little shit what's he doing i'm at the door my last prediction is that uh the epstein files are going to expose a bunch of surprising people i think everybody thinks it's just billionaires and i also think that like what's going on with diddy too i think a lot of shit's going to come out about that after the fact and it's going to be surprising people on there i thought the diddy thing was wrapped up it is but i think that they're still going to be like when he gets out of jail i think there's going to be like an influx of more information coming out i don't know i hope that there's more like luigi mangione's oh yeah please and thank you i wonder what's gonna happen with him i do i've forgotten about
Starting point is 01:03:41 him did you see this is i saw it online today um this woman went undercover and joined like a white supremacist dating site i think it's called whites only.com oh my god yes and she like went undercover she used like ai pictures and stuff she set up bots to make these men like fall in love with her fake profile and then uh she like took the whole website down and like doxxed everyone and she was like at a hacker convention and like she did it on stage in a pink power rangers costume oh my fucking god i love her it was phenomenal um wait what was i gonna say about this shut up wow i don't know if you guys can hear grandpa but he's being absolutely insufferable he really wants to go outside no he doesn't he's gonna be cold and
Starting point is 01:04:35 come back in she's pawing at the door like i'm gonna open it i need to be outside and then we'll wrap okay okay well this was a fun it was it was fun to get back together i know after having a little break the band's back the band is back together and then my sleep score was 65 last night which is 15 points more yeah i know thank you so much i went to sleep at like a d sour because i had to be up at look at you go she's back your skin does look really great too thank you by the way liz got me on a long skincare routine yeah i learned that amelia yeah she wasn't she had no skincare routine no no you weren't using moisturizer no which was washing my face and using tret that's basically it as someone which is so crazy because tretinoin is
Starting point is 01:05:17 so dry yeah i know and as someone as a desert baby uh-huh i fucking hate when my skin is dry oh yeah no when when i first started using tret i was doing a lot of moisturizing but i would only moisturize if i needed it and i'm realizing no and i love a long nighttime that really works for men for some reason yeah they're like 10 in one face wash shampoo yeah body wash ball wash yep and then they come out with glowing skin yeah of course anyways love you all so much love you i just jumped in aren't children should we take singing lessons for fun and like get really really good at singing i used to take singing lessons my sink my teacher's name was laurie i was was it like outside of school or
Starting point is 01:06:08 inside of school outside of school wow went to private singing lessons wow yeah that's impressive and guitar lessons i want to do private it would be fun to do private singing lessons it would and just be like really fucking good at karaoke and just like yeah pull a bit just like pull it out randomly yeah people are like oh my god when did liz fucking learn how to fucking sing like that i don't know i'm just like god given ability yeah anyway we love you
