am i friends with danny gonzalez no no no i don't think you would ever be friends but me i mean maybe no actually no not anymore um i have a rover dog here right now and frank and i both did not sleep last night so i'm operating on half a brain cell liz just said that her brain is feeling a little crazy and she's happy and pairing this episode so we we don't really know what you're gonna get from us today yeah hopefully it's good though it is gonna be good planned and if you don't like it then that's neither did we neither did we you weren't supposed to we planned it that way love island finale we actually have a lot to talk about from the past two weeks because a lot happened in the past two weeks and i was

trying to remember before you came over what happened since the last time we talked like what what was the uh last thing i mean they did movie night oh my god movie night um and then anaya and casey resolved things um proud of them i am proud i'm proud of them too movie night was crazy i saw a take they didn't do movie night last year by the way they should have um i saw a psychologist talking about um how mel reacted to movie night and how that was like a clear-cut trauma response because like she's not one to just like go quiet you know and she like started kind of like using like a higher pitched voice and like needed to hold a hand and those were all I guess like signs of a trauma response you like kind of like revert back into like a childlike

state and watching it through that lens made me so fucking sad from her because this man triggers her in so many ways and I don't know if you've been seeing all the brands that have been posting about like Melanie like dump sincere and you'll get like a free month of yoga I just gotta say i think that shit is really inconsiderate yeah it's tacky as fuck brands have really lost the plot yeah this is a 25 year old woman like yeah she's supposed to be making mistakes right now you're making content about like heeheeing and hahaing over her suffering yeah enough like we've all been there we just haven't done it on camera yeah like a live feed to the world well another thing that happened that i just thought of was like they had their families visit oh my god yes

And Melanie's mom in particular was just dropping the like most fire one liner. She's like, why are you going? And they were all in Spanish, too, which makes them hit even harder. So true. Her mom was like, why are you giving this man a second chance when there are so many others waiting for their first? Oh, I love that line. Fucking bars. That was an absolute bar.

Yeah, she had a bunch. i highly recommend watching it just to see like what melanie's mom has to say because it feels like advice that every woman needs to hear yeah she was so like cool calm and collected the whole time too like maybe it was because the cameras were there and she was like a little nervous but she was so just like quiet and then would just like drop fucking bombs yeah um i really appreciated sincere's dad uh apparently that's his stepdad oh and that's why he was like i came here to correct you damn well either way thank god yeah sincere's dad showed up and just absolutely dragged him yeah he was like apologize to melanie apologize to her family like this is the most

inexcusable behavior he was like this is not how i raised you yeah which is so fucking dope i think it's i'm pretty sure it's his stepdad just based off of what other people were saying that means that that's probably a stepbrother to them because it was benjamin jr and benjamin senior yes i was like damn he didn't even get the junior title who gets the name benjamin and then is has a brother named sincere yeah you know what i mean i think it well so in that case i think it's his half brother yeah step brother totally um carl's mom hot as fuck yes i'm sorry i was trying to remember yeah i saw a tweet that was like carl looks like if his parents had a kid totally carl totally looks like his parents had had a child together he laughed so hard yeah his mom is really cool

yeah i was like i love this she's got like such cool sense of fashion i don't know yeah i was like i would like to look like that yeah no it's it's really i mean and his sister is gorgeous he's gorgeous he was so out of place on that show god bless him i'm like you're too normal for this dude yeah but he's him and Bryce are a good reminder that men can age out of being a dumbass is he older Carl Carl's 28 and Bryce turned 30 while in the villa I love Bryce Bryce is such like a picture he's like the poster child for someone raised by women he's such a cancer boy yeah he's a cancer that's why he's a little lover boy and like enjoys taking care of Trinity oh it's a very big cancer trait i will say like last season the winners were more like we you didn't really know

who was gonna win at the end because it was between um amaya and brian and then um alandria and nick and like they were both both those couples were like huge fan favorites this year it was like kind of obvious who was gonna win yeah by the landslide for like after like the third episode yeah you know which was kind of a bummer um because I mean just comparing to other seasons it's out I haven't seen season seven it sounds like season seven was a lot of like wannabe like influencers clout chasers and then season six was like a lot more of a mixed bag like I don't know you had a lot of different storylines happening in season six which made it interesting yeah season six and they had such a good slow burn romance happening yes season six really set

the tone for love island us because up until season six it was like love island uk and then um like love island us was just kind of like yeah we have it too you know yeah but season six really put it on the map for the us yeah if you have not watched season six you oh my god some of the best reality tv I've seen and like yeah I was just not interested in watching something that needed that much of my time but after I was so locked in on season eight I was like I guess I'll give it a try yeah and oh my god it's like some of the best television ever and I think I saw an important thread post because I don't go on twitter anymore um where someone was like a lot of people dismiss the viewers of love island as like or love island itself as just like reality trashy tv but it's

not really like that like a lot of people who watch it are just very invested in watching regular people and their like relationship dynamics play out like it's not just like romantic relationships it's also the friendships between these people and like seeing how they all operate and like what their thought process is in con in moments of conflict and like i mean that's kind of like some of the most interesting stuff about being alive yeah that's so true like who doesn't fucking love a juicy piece of gossip yeah and we so rarely get to watch it from the perspective of it not in like it not having anything to do with us yeah you know what I mean yeah and they don't have access to their phones they don't have access to anything they also like

it seems like they get to a point of acceptance of like I don't know what is being shown about me i'm just gonna continue living my life because it is it's so fucking exhausting to live your life like you're being watched constantly it did feel like i'm sure it's in the back of their minds like oh i shouldn't say anything fucked up totally totally it did feel like if it got to anybody it felt like it got to kata at certain points this season of it being like oh people are perceiving us and they feel a type of way about us i i've noticed that even though i only have season six to compare it to it seems like any time a couple is like maybe in the bottom like people are pressed about it yeah like in the house yeah yeah they're pressed about being the in the bottom like

what are people seeing that I'm not seeing yeah which is like a weird feeling I'm sure it's like I'm really happy but like does this suck for well and then I guess also compare comparatively in season six like there is a couple that is surprised that they're in the top because they have had kind of like a unconventional road to getting to where they are which one the winner is Cordell and Serena Serena sorry I had a brain fart Serena yeah Cordell and Serena they had like they really did have a slow burn romance and you like in the entire time you're rooting for them yeah I really was they were like the perfect like they were like the ideal situation for that show because it was like they were really into each other but they still went

and explored they like broke up for a sec and then they found their way back to each other like that so rarely happens and it at least last season like if a couple got together at the beginning every everybody was against them it's like no like you have to like branch out and explore yeah but that didn't happen this season so it's interesting to see the different like micro climates that happen in the cast I kind of wonder if this season too like the people were cast based on compatible potential compatibility like they chose the the main cast that they did choose and they chose the bombshells that they did choose because they were like oh they might be compatible with this person interesting I don't know that's just a theory because it did seem

maybe like they got along really well yeah like or like they hit it off pretty well off the bat so maybe they were too effective whereas like i think in season six what makes it so interesting is like when they bring in a bombshell and someone's like i'm gonna get to know the bombshell and say goodbye to this other person i'm clearly not into in my couple and then like if they don't hit it off with the bombshell they send in some like they just keep sending in bombshells to shake things up they didn't have like any bombshells they had no bombshells um which was so boring speaking of bombshells have you been seeing all of the videos that gall and jen have been making for his coffee shop yes so fucking funny and then they had like that amazing photo shoot yes yeah

that was that was an amazing that looked so good i love the photo shoot i'm really glad that they're like i hope i hope that they i mean jen's fucking hilarious yeah she is and so is he it turns out like we didn't see any of that on the show yeah but i mean i guess that makes sense i think i don't know it's like when you know that like your crush is watching you you like make you like trip and shit and like make an like an ass of yourself i feel like when you know that like the entire country is watching you you're just not going to be 100 yourself or like be your wittiest version of yourself yeah i don't know um yeah i don't know this season was a an interesting i don't even know how to put it because like liz and i were texting earlier and

it was like the last like two weeks of this show kind of were kind of oh my god they dragged on it feels like i skipped forward through a lot of yes the finale the finale was all fluff and then the night before with like the game with the spitting food into each other's mouths me and frank i didn't watch that i didn't watch that episode at all because i saw a preview and i was like i'm not interested in that i'm like what frank was like this is the second to last episode what are they doing yeah what was the point of that game there wasn't anyway yeah it got really boring yeah second half i would say uh shifting do you have any final thoughts about love island before we shift gears no i just came up with a new idea for what we should do today i i have a game

are people who can't get rid of a friend yeah you know I do think that you might be one of those people I think you have a hard time I do getting rid of a friend I do um personally I don't have that issue yeah that's fair I also don't think I like really put myself in a position where I like end up having friends I don't want to keep you know what I mean yeah but I think it happens more often to men where they keep a friend that like sucks and they like haven't really processed why they're like problematic yeah you know yeah so I think it's just like if you know someone sucks you need to cut the cord like it doesn't matter how long you've known them yeah I think men are just not used to having like a sunk cost fallacy yeah problem yeah that women are that's so true

why is that i think because the bar for what women need to accomplish is so much higher that they're used to having to accept mediocrity like it is a very recent thing in history and modern history for women to be making the choice to be in a relationship with a man versus needing to for like literal survival purposes yeah that's very true in terms of like a social credit score and your own bank account like yeah these are all things that women can now do without a man whereas before like you literally had to like be married or have your dad like open and manage your bank account for you yeah you couldn't get birth control without your husband's approval like that's like really like women have way more exactly it's it is not that long ago no so i

think it's been a learning curve for women to not have to accept the bare minimum which is why i think there's like a lot of single people yeah it's because women are happier not accepting the bare minimum and men are more miserable not having someone take care of them the way their mommy did yeah too many men just want another mom i think i also don't think they consciously realize that no but i think the expectation has been set there's like just there's a lot of changing around like what does what do gender roles mean and women's has moved in a more positive direction whereas like it's kind of left men and like the idea of masculinity kind of floating in the ether like yes okay where is it gonna go what does it mean yeah so it's going through a growth period

and is that not a reflection of like how men and women are in general like women mature faster or like are better at managing conflict than men and now men are faced with conflict and it's just kind of explosive damn you're on your fucking shit right now thank you we you really got my brain moving with the with our game yeah with the game yeah i love that i love that it's all lubed up now this is exactly what i wanted some some conversation around corrector caca i don't think i've like ever said caca out loud either until right now maybe when i was a kid yeah because you know it means shit in spanish yeah um ghosting after one date is not rude uh i think it's i think that's caca really i mean i think if you've been on a date i think

it's one thing if conversation naturally fizzles out but like if the person keeps messaging you I don't know I feel like depending on how the date went and depending on what the follow-up looked like I think you should at least be like hey I'm not into it yeah just out of politeness I agree I think like yeah it's challenging to have that conversation because it's awkward but i think both i think the person you're telling it to you'll get some kind of confirmation like they'll either appreciate that they told you that you told them that and um if they flip out on you then you know you made the right choice anyways that's very true so but it's always so much worse and i think men are figuring this out if you're like so fucking cool and understanding when they

end it after a date or two it makes it makes the person be like did i make a mistake wait did you not like me yeah yeah yeah or like oh they were like really really mature about that like i should have kept going out with them which you know is not i mean you can also always change your mind i think that's another important lesson that we should all learn is like it's okay to change your mind especially if in this circumstance that you're like oh i did vibe with them maybe give it some time to breathe and then be like you know what i actually would be interested in a second date yeah if you are but that does require a lot of like emotional awareness yeah a lot of people don't have that no um it's okay to have a work spouse if boundaries are clear

caca yeah agreed a work spouse a work spouse no yeah i think it's only acceptable if you are a woman and you have a work wife yeah if you have like a gay work husband i think that's also acceptable yeah i think as long as it's not like some kind of um if there is not like a a threat to your partner yeah in some capacity yeah like having a gay work husband would not be a threat to my straight part male partner right exactly yeah it feels like there are there are specific instances where it's understandable and we all need to just be married to a few people sometimes look at look at the Mormons they're happy um are they no uh if you're more than 15 minutes early without asking you're rude more than 15 minutes early I think it depends on the

circumstance okay let's say the circumstance is a party like you coming over to my house 15 minutes before yeah like if you were having people over and you were getting ready for the party and I showed up 15 minutes before people were supposed to show up um I I don't think it's rude I think it's annoying i think it's rude like whenever anyone shows up even like unless you're showing up to help me set up yeah why the fuck are you here right do you want to like fucking sit around and just like be in my way while i'm scrambling at least offer your help if you're here to help great if you're not you sit in your car for 15 minutes all right so i think that's correct let's call mr liz and let him know yeah he loves to be early and he loves to be at a party the second it

starts i'm like you know no one's gonna be there right right and now it'll be our responsibility to like cultivate the conversation i can hate that shit i that's why i'm always like 10 minutes late to like a party because i'm like i don't want to be the first one there and like have the host feel like they have to entertain just me yeah you know what i mean exactly i don't know but somebody has to be the first calling someone without texting them first is chaotic correct yep agreed i'm whenever i get a phone call when i like wasn't already talking to someone i'm like someone's someone died i think it's either an emergency and i think it also depends on who's calling because sometimes i'm like like if you're calling me without a text i'm like oh it must be some

piping hot tea or usually she's driving yeah and sometimes it's both yeah that's true like she's driving so she can't text me yeah but i'll also send you a voice note if i'm driving immediately yeah yeah but sometimes i need to see your reaction to the thing that i'm telling you and that's when i'll facetime you okay i agree with you on your response there red receipts should not exist caca oh i think it's correct i don't see a world in which we need a red receipt mr liz has his read receipts on you know what i think it's did he have it on before the update no yeah i think it automatically turned them on yeah it might have automatically turned them on i mentioned it to him oh within the last i think he's had them for like the last

I don't like inconvenient inconveniencing people when I have to pee yeah that's my thing and I always have to pee on planes because I'm drinking a lot of water well also when you are when you have the like additional pressure you have to pee more yeah that that makes sense but I also will always have to pee if I can't get to a bathroom easily it's like a psychological thing for me if I'm in the window I'm gonna have to pee 500 times I think I usually can I usually only have to go once how the plane what's like even on like international flights I haven't been on very many of those oh what about when you went to Paris do you remember that one it wasn't an issue because we had our own row and I think there was like we were like there's like a

partition in front of us so there was no one like that's really nice there were a lot of empty seats on our flight to Paris I've found that like almost all of my international flights there's like a bunch of empty seats which is always shocking whenever I fly to England I have like a whole row to myself and there's like multiple open rows it's the fucking best okay moving along um sequels usually suck I will caveat unless it's based on a book um I think that's correct I think so too I haven't seen a lot of sequels that I like no me neither the first well because the second the sequel i'm thinking that i first thought of was dune 2 and then that is based on a book yeah yeah and dune 2 is still part of the first book
