amelia's back better than ever baby and i know it wasn't the same without her so well you and
mr liz did such a good job hosting thank you but it was just such a different vibe than like you
a new recording i get that totally well that's good please don't replace me with mr libs i i
could never i literally could never that's the moral of this story um la was fun i'm happy to
be back so is frank i'm happy for you to be back as well but then i leave for chicago on thursday
she's just she's jet setting ladies and gents in high demand high demand you know i got hoes
in area codes i got hoes it's a seltzer okay everyone calm down yeah it's a monday when you're
listening to this it'll be friday sometimes thursday if you're part of the patreon i don't
always get it in a day early but i do try and now we switch off and i have less of a life than liz
so i know i think you're just more efficient with your time oh i think you need i'm so kind of you
to say I think you need less time doing nothing than I do you know less time oh sometimes I feel
so overwhelmed that my me time is just me laying under my weighted blanket that's good me time
that's that's what you need I don't I don't see anything wrong with that my therapist made me feel
better about that she's like sometimes that's just what you need yeah my therapist always says doing
nothing is doing something but I also need enrichment time I'm really lacking in the
enrichment time so that's what i've been trying to do more of um mr liz a while ago got me a um
mini uh garden fuck what's it called oh greenhouse a mini greenhouse that you like put it together
it's so cute and i opened it finally to get started and this thing is really diy like you
have to do everything you have to find like none of the pieces for each part are together so you
have to track down the right bag with the one piece that goes to the other piece and then like
it's it's a lot so i got uh the door done and that took me 45 minutes that's very you're gonna
feel so fulfilled when that's done i'm like this is gonna take a long time so that's what i've been
doing for my enrichment time and you know what it is very hard with two very curious cats just
oh i bet they're like oh my god there's a lot of tiny pieces whenever i'm focused i need to
be involved very hard on anything meows has to be all up in my grill about it whenever i'm like
really focused you're not paying attention to me you're really paying attention to this thing so
maybe i need to be paying attention to it as well yeah i'm like don't you have a moth to catch or
something yeah i'm like don't you want to look out the window yeah like you have your own enrichment
time my cats watching me is their enrichment time that's adorable i felt so guilty this weekend
spending a lot of time with mr liz because i was like even even the first day away i was like i'm
just feeling really anxious because i feel guilty about leaving my cats and he was like you're
joking right like you spend so much time with them and they are so spoiled like you give them
such a good life liz you don't need to feel guilty you're turning into me that's why i feel guilty
though like they're used to having me around all the time yeah that's the thing it's like i spoil
that cat way too much and so whenever i'm not around i'm like she must be fucking miserable
do i need to get them a little ipad frank was like um when i was like spiraling out at coachella
about leaving her he was like that cat lives a better life than a lot of us oh yeah so
she's okay has had the ultimate come up yeah are you kidding me she's a street cat
to like she's been she's been like a foster care child you know yeah just going house to house
and then you got to adopt her i love her so much and you you're giving her the best days of her
life and that i'd be no shade to her previous owners yeah no she had a great life with them
too but you know like but now she's like the the queen of the house you know it's just her
there's no other animals like taking away from her attention and enrichment time like she loves
her toys she has a litter box to poop in and a litter box to pee in has like this cat has so
many litter boxes doesn't she have three yeah three fucking litter boxes she only uses two of
them though meanwhile i'm like i bought the automatic litter box because i can no longer
be bothered i mean and it was a great investment i was about to say that was so worth it big fan
not big fan not sponsored but could be yeah litter robot it's expensive as fuck but worth it and
that's should be their tagline i was just about to say that sounds like that they might adopt that
i do need to get new litter though because i was trying out the i want to try some more like you
know eco-friendly stuff so i was using um world's best which is a corn based litter so it like will
it gets really dusty it like clumps but it also like kind of falls apart so there's something so
nasty to me about corn litter because you know when like you eat corn then you shit and there's
like corn in your shit yeah i do know that i feel like your stomach can't digest that part yeah so
corn litter feels like very full circle going in as it does going out yeah well here's the thing
since i have an automatic litter box i don't have any issues with it but if i were like still
scooping it would smell horrid like when i'm cleaning it out i'm like jesus christ oh no well
because cat shit and piss already smells noxious it is it's rough guys like no wonder people will
huff it to get high because it's like jet fuel oh my god it's seriously i'm like you made that
you sweet little like yeah like delicate you eat the same thing every day how is some of your shit
like this it's i don't know truly remarkable maybe this is too graphic so having the automatic
litter box like clean it right away and then um i use compostable bags so i feel i'm doing what i
can because clay litter is bad for the environment and it's bad for your cat I've learned and run
until that is pretty litter clay forever no oh my god crystals because I've been like really you're
burning money I only change your litter every once every two months though you don't need all of the
litter to be pretty litter oh yeah just the top layer yeah you just sprinkle it in there because
it's just supposed to let you know if they're sick sprinkle sprinkle we've been talking about
litter boxes for a whole nine minutes nearly 10 minutes it's about to say should we should we jump
into a topic something interesting yeah i mean there's nothing more interesting than litter
my one last comment is gramps will when the litter turns he runs to litter box every time
to watch it that's so cute which is funny considering how afraid of it he was his
enrichment is watching you and watching the litter box yeah and that's okay i'll allow it that's so
that's beautiful as long as he's making it in there that's all i care about i want to talk
about something that i've been like avoiding talking about but i feel like it's okay for me
to talk about now um a lot of people asked about me and mr liz living together and um he didn't
want to talk about it and i don't blame him and i asked if it was okay if i addressed it separately
and he was like yeah that's fine um just because we're like on the same page about it so what what
happened uh was um he was not ready to move in together and like my lease is still not up so
it's been a while um and it was you know it was really hard to hear that because it feels like
rejection um but the more like we've worked on things together and talk about it like it does
make a lot of sense that he just wasn't ready and he was trying to convince himself that he was
and i would have been we both would have been so unhappy absolutely if i moved in with him and he
wasn't ready he would resent me i would feel uncomfortable like and then you'd have to deal
with moving out and then he wouldn't have told he wouldn't be like telling me his truth yeah
and that you can't live like that you need to be authentic to yourself that's the only way like
you're really gonna find joy in your life um that doesn't mean we'll never move in together it's
just like he's not ready right now and he's also never lived by himself i was just about to bring
that up that's such an important experience to have and i think that like after the first couple
of months of him living on his own he was like i'm really enjoying this and i've lived alone for a
long time so i would be sacrificing a lot you know to to move in with someone who isn't ready
right it's like yeah you're gonna give up your independence for somebody that doesn't want it
it's like that would just be a lose-lose at this point um my therapist refers to it as a rupture
like I'm not going to pretend our relationship's perfect that was a really fucking hard time
to get through because just the way that it like came up and was handled was less than ideal
you know like waiting until like the last moment to be like actually I'm like not ready and I've
never been ready and I haven't had enough time to like think about this and like assess where I'm at
in life and if I'm ready for this so um I like I'm not resentful or mad we're in like a really good
place now and it took a long time to get here and I was thinking the other day we were like talking
about this like we're just really proud of ourselves and like our relationship like it was
the first time that maybe things felt a little like adversary um between us because most of the
time when there's conflict it has always felt like we're on the same team it's like us versus
the conflict yeah and this was the first time where we were a little bit at odds um so I mean
that's also why I got so into Esther Perel and like trying to learn how to hold space for
like opposition and your partner's experience because I still love that point she has of like
you and your partner are in a conflict and you're not in agreement on whatever it may be and the
thing that you don't want to hold like the the part of the argument that makes you uncomfortable
that's what you project onto your partner so you get so black and white like it's well I want this
then he wants that so we're at odds and then her point is if you're alone you have to hold space
for making that decision by yourself so you almost have to make the other argument yeah
and that helped us a lot I think totally especially me um but I just wanted to address it I like when
it all came up to the first time that um I brought up like living together and and like the rent
situation uh we got tons of great advice too so like moving forward when it does come time for
us to make that decision um we have plenty of options he he does this thing where he gets to
a place and he said this on the last episode like he is uncomfortable and has a hard time
sharing like when he is experiencing conflict like if there's something that is like hard for
him to talk about he feels like he needs to have a solution already and something like this like
I noticed that with moving in together all it he could really focus on was how he didn't feel ready
you know so then it can't it became about that it became about the fear and trying to avoid feeling
badly trying to avoid hurting my feelings trying to just like push this feeling down instead of
like letting it come up and processing it and like talking to me about it because he was like I need
to have a solution I I'll get over it I'll make myself get over it and that's not how that works
sure isn't so um it was like a really good learning experience and I can say that now that
were on the other side of it yeah because like now that the dust has settled I'm you know I'm
not in any kind of rush yeah I'm not gonna wait around forever right but uh it made me pump the
brakes too and be like okay well what do I really want it really was like the word rupture is really
perfect for like just experiencing it from the outside like it really was and the fact that y'all
like were able to work through it and get through that together is such a testament to your
relationship too like that sucked for a sec you know oh yeah it sucked for a long sec yeah a long
it felt like a year but it was not a year it's like a good six months yeah pretty hard right
and like you like knew you wanted to work through it and he knew he wanted to work through it and
you worked through it and now you're like you know like tying up well should we break up well
i don't want to break up well neither do i so what are we doing and that's such a black and
white way of thinking about it too in terms of just like how we're like you know like evolved
to like think about conflict and relationships like well this is a thing that like feels like
it probably won't be remedied we're at two different points like i guess we just break up
but it's like no if you don't want that and you see it all the time couples break up and then
they're like well like neither of us wanted this yeah because it just feels like oh well like we
want different things let's break up but that's not always the solution and like y'all like did
a lot of work to like get back to a good place and I'm glad that you're there because I mean I'm
team Liz's happiness above all else but I'm also like you know team Mr. Liz for Liz yeah you know
love him yeah I adore him and he's like he's an amazing person yeah you know he's a really great
guy I would never like villainize him for simply not being ready you know and that's like everyone's
path is different and that's been the hardest thing for me to cope with myself which is just
like it's hard to not compare yourself sometimes to other relationships but like I am choosing to
be in this relationship no one's making me yeah and like my path is allowed to look different
and I can still be happy so I think that was like an interesting thing for me to like an interesting
point for me to get to of like okay there is no roadmap there is no way that this is supposed to
go like we get to decide that yeah and it did feel like people and this might not even be true
it feels like people are like watching your relationship and sometimes there is this external
pressure of like we have this relationship podcast so it feels like oh my relationship
needs to be perfect because i'm like now this like unofficial expert supposedly yeah exactly
so it's like i'm not an expert i'm trying to figure it out too i think though like because
i've i've had that same kind of like thought process specifically with sex like whenever like
a you know a dude's like oh she's sex positive oh you showed me yeah just because i'm sex positive
doesn't mean i want to have sex with you yeah and like that was a huge thing like oh i better be
like the best in bed because this person is expecting me to be when in reality like the
people that listen to us like all of them 99% of them understand that like we're speaking from the
perspective of like we're not experts you know we're like trying to true we're trying never
declared we're experts no I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about half the time where you
always hear us like googling shit on the fly you know yeah so it's like and then we're like we're
not gonna double check this right it's like why i heard i read it here once i don't know
that we get emails people are like wrong good to know but like that is a huge piece of this is like
we're like figuring it out you know and like we're like going through it you listen the first few
episodes don't if you have it to be relatable also like we need to grow we need to make mistakes
everyone needs to make mistakes to learn yeah so very human it got to um a point where like
we were talking about our relationship and finally like well that's not like necessarily
even how i want this relationship to go like do like some kind of stereotypical way that
you assume a relationship is supposed to go and like whatever timeline and then finally accepting
that it felt like a like you're loosening your grip finally yeah like it's okay that that is not
my path yeah and like did I even actually want that as my path so challenging my own like
insecurities was a really great experience I think that like that path too that we think that like we
need to have comparing it to other relationships is so often like not actually what's going on in
the relationship too yeah like I have a friend who I was just telling Liz about her before we
were recording I'm not going to get into details because it's not my story but she like up until
today really was like always going on and on about like how happy she was in her relationship and
like he always like builds me up he always makes me feel so good about myself like he's my number
one supporter he's doing all this stuff to like you know make our relationship even stronger and
then today like a lot of stuff happened and was the first time where she was like no we've been
like struggling for like months and it's just like cards is falling apart yeah and it's like
oh i mean like obviously i mean at my age now i can recognize too like you know not all that
glitters is gold yeah but like it was interesting to like be reminded like even though like
relationships seem perfect and like on like the right path people are picking and choosing what
people see yeah you know and like you talking about this now too is such like a strength because
i knew eventually i wanted to talk about it but i just wanted to talk about it when we were out of
it whatever and also after you talked to mr liz too about like if it was okay for you to talk
about it also like that's such a huge thing like we there's a lot that like yeah we want to be as
honest as possible on here but like there are other people that we have to consider in what
we talk about and that's always been the case and i like uh me wanting to address it like i was like
eventually i'm going to address this anyways whether that means like we break up or like
we're able to work through it nothing is certain and as humans we're always looking for certainty
and reassurance even though there's literally no guarantee for anything ever yeah we really don't
we we just spend all of our time like trying to make things make sense and make sure that we feel
safe and we know what's gonna happen yeah that's why we if you're unhappy like why people get stuck
in these cycles of unhappiness and kind of self-sabotage it's not because you like want to
be doing that it's because it's familiar and what is comfortable isn't always what brings you joy
yeah and it really is such a habit getting into those thought spirals like you have to break the
habit and honestly like accepting that things can change and like you can't predict the future
and relationships don't last forever and they might not like it's kind of freeing it's not
you should allow yourself to accept that instead of being like well no it's sad I don't want to
think of that like it makes me feel unsafe like just learning to embrace that life is a mystery
is really freeing my therapist was like relationships are about accepting with this
person like you're choosing to be with them because once you accept that life is unpredictable
instead of letting fear take over like fear supposed to be in the backseat it shouldn't
be driving the car yep totally um she was like when fear starts driving the car you know that's
when things feel really scary and instead you can just put them in the back seat and choose to go
into this mystery with your partner yeah like life is a mystery and i want to solve this mystery with
you yeah it's like you can't let fear drive the car and you can't let fear stop your like you
from driving the car exactly like it really is such like a like a beast when you let it take
over your decision making and it's so easy to do because it's so much safer just to be like
well like this might end so maybe i just don't get into a relationship which is how i was conducting
my relationships for a long time i was like you know if i don't feel anything then i can't be sad
and that's like so unfulfilling and it was what i needed to do but it's so easy to just like
let fear dictate everything that you do and it really is very like liberating but also like
terrifying like the unknown and just accepting that every like it like you're saying like well
and then she had a good point she's like you know if he's feeling fear then like now you're feeling
fear and doubt so like now you both are feeling this way and it's like taking over the relationship
instead of you know choosing the to go into the mystery together yeah and sometimes it is as
simple as that shift in thinking of life is a mystery like and it's exciting yeah like we don't
know what's gonna happen that's like the cool part right of it and then deciding that that's
what you want to do with a person totally because yeah we're three years in there's a three-year
rich for a lot of people that's crazy three years i mean it doesn't feel like it to me it still feels
very new yeah like if yeah no i bet i mean like because you keep rediscovering each other in
different ways really and like every phase of a relationship like is kind of like i mean like my
parents are still like they still say like they're learning something like they learn about each
other every day you know and that's been like over 30 years you know like you're always and then like
you're not only like just learning about them but you're learning about yourself too so like it's
i think that that just kind of makes time fly it's true you have to choose to be curious about
the other person because there is always going to be something to learn yeah like because you're
never going to be another person um my therapist was saying like we make people like we tell
ourselves that we know someone because it makes us feel comfortable it's like well i already like
know everything about them i don't need to learn anything else yeah when that's just not the case
no so i just wanted to address that because a lot of people asked for an update and i was like i
i should talk about this because my lease is about to be up and i don't really know what i'm
gonna do i'm thinking i'll go month to month and i want to move closer to amelia and mr liz
because i mean one it's such a pain in the ass to drive to ballard from capitol hill and if you
know you know uh-huh it's like it's gotten worse it really truly has ballard is just inconvenient
to everywhere else and i love ballard too so i just want to move a little closer um specifically
because like i just want to be closer to my community in general yeah um i was like listening
to something that was explaining like a lot of your joy in life is like being close to your
community like physically like where it's easy to visit them so yeah i that's a priority for me
but also moving is a pain in the ass moving sucks but if like you and frank move off of the hill
oh yeah i will never i'll never complain about driving anywhere ever again what if
here's what we need to do we need frank to move into the same building as me
i love that idea because then we can all hang out all the time should we just get a commune
oh my god that would actually be really fun yeah because like we're trying to get mr liz and frank
to be bffs all we all hung out on saturday yeah it was so fun it was so fun it was and it was so
easy too it was a couple's date yeah it was i just loved it but like you know i feel like if
we have a commune then we're all in one place we can have a podcasting room just us four we can
have like so many other people join our commune yeah y'all are invited they can start podcasts
too yeah we're all it's a commune of podcasters imagine how insufferable that would be it would
be like a tiktok house it's just like the worst just too much personality what would our tiktok
house be called um it would be called church church yeah welcome to church that would literally
become a cult yeah sounds fun i'm in let's let's do it but it'd be like let's try it like a good
cult you know like it wouldn't be a cult that like brainwashes people i mean that's what all
cults start out as fuck maybe if we're aware it's a cult does that take away the cult aspect of it
i don't know i think no i don't think so i think that you can because there's such thing as two
person cults and there's no way it's true that those two people aren't aware of what's happening
i think my cats are in a two-person cult oh easily i am their leader absolutely just based on
but like they just need to be sitting in the same room as us they're so fucking cute i love them so
they're hilarious i love that cats are like cool cats are like social creatures but i think we
should uh have our fun topic i'm so excited to do this this is gonna be a blast you guys are
gonna love this because we loved it let me find it because i sent the screenshot to
so far away so i saw this on twitter and the original was tweeted by at girl in a basement
um and she says molly and i are discussing men's celebrity crush red and green flags so
um here's the list that she shared good susan sarandon rihanna kirsten dunst emily blunt
marissa tomei bad ariana grande olivia rodrigo sydney sweeney tina fey amy poehler fine but also
duh margot robbie natalie portman mila kunis emily ratajowski right i met maybe i said that
right everyone calls her emirata so emirata you are gay kate blanchett beyonce carly ray
jefferson charlie xcx lana del rey you are trying to signal something nicole kidman greta gerwig
aoc serena williams basically any female athlete incomprehensible taylor swift why though i want
of know why i i get it i get why that's incomprehensible why because she is beyond a
level of like normal pop star yeah she has surpassed celebrity she yeah it's it's kind of
bananas like yeah i didn't think about that until somewhat recently amelia went to go see taylor
swift um and i was just like she is so good i heard someone call her like the biggest celebrity
of our time like she really is like the heiress tour is blowing up 31 million people registered
for her pre-sale code in just toronto it's 31 million bananas that's actually i have friends
buying tickets for her tour dates and other countries like next year in 2024 it's wild so
like to me that's incomprehensible not to say like she's not like beautiful and amazing and
talented it's just like she's so talented that you having a crush on her is incomprehensible
okay i feel that you know i feel that she's outside of our a normal person's like yeah
like beyonce yeah i feel the exact same way about beyonce her and beyonce are like they're not i
can't even call them celebrities they're like like deities i can that is what it feels like
i cannot mentally process someone being like that's my celebrity crush yeah i'm like they're
they're not celebrities they're deities at this point like the the level of cult following that
they have is incomprehensible what would be like a dude he's he's being a cat hey
um what do you what do you think like a the male equivalent like who the male equivalent would be
i don't know i feel like men already have fucking cult followings like celebrity men
like even fucking serial killers have yeah lunatics being like i'm in love with you
but like who is like what male celebrity has passed being a celebrity because we have two
we have taylor swift and beyonce i know well and that is also like in some way i'm like is it even
comparable because they've surpassed it in a patriarchy you know yeah that's why it's a little
different it's like they've needed to bust through a lot more yeah exactly there's actually nobody
that i can also men of that like men of that like celebrity are kind of like they suck you know
like billionaires they're they're so out of touch with just like the regular world
um but i guess if we can get close maybe like
ryan gosling especially right now i love him everyone's always loved ryan gosling you know
yeah and he's a hottie so it makes sense but i wouldn't say he's like beyonce or taylor swift
level of celebrity oh harry styles okay so i was gonna say harry styles but also he's like
the kind of celebrity crush that like i feel like you wouldn't see on incomprehensible on
a list that's true like i would be like a duh what boring but duh i was gonna say if someone
When celebrity crushes Harry Styles, I would think either they're trying to signal something
or maybe a red flag.
Really?
A little bit.
Why?
Because it does feel so obvious.
Yeah.
And then...
But that's why I would put him under the...
I know.
Like, duh.
I have such mixed feelings.
Boring but duh list.
Was that the name of that section?
Like, obvious but...
oh fine but fine but duh yeah yeah that would be where i would put harry styles
yeah yeah like i think like a red flag dude celebrity crush would be like
army hammer oh absolutely yeah it's a really obvious anybody admitting to army hammer anymore
red flag yeah i agree johnny depp for sure and i would have said that even before the
thing yeah i don't even like
no like i can't even think of like hot celebrity men i know it just is kind of
incomprehensible it's hard to think of oscar isaac green flag absolutely green flag that dude
what what about chris evans green flag um the guy in the bear i'm forgetting his name oh red flag
especially right now he cheated on his wife with a pa oh no i didn't know that and now he's like
making out with someone new well because i made um mr liz and his friend answer that and then i
just started asking a bunch of people and i was like guess mine and he was like the guy from the
bear and i was like oh actually yes i mean he's so hot my my my constant is chris evans because
he's he's just like a lovely person he's the people he's the people's boyfriend exactly that's
exactly how i feel about him and ryan gosling currently people's boyfriend after being ken
um i didn't know that he cheated on his wife yeah that is so aside from that bummer aside from that
i think it would be a green flag like if that never happened i would say green flag because
that's like you look at him if you saw him on the street you wouldn't be like who the
fuck is that's why he's kind of like a celebrity crush because he is ugly hot yeah you know yeah
he's hot enough that like the girls get it the girls fucking get it yeah it's kind of like uh
adam driver yeah but he's but he's ugly enough that he's attainable and he's not uglier than you
so you know you'll always still feel like yeah i'm cute right like we're on an equal playing
field here exactly okay exactly what about where do you think um pete davidson would go on the list
at this point red flag okay why uh it just feels weird now yeah i would say like
before ariana grande it'd be a green flag yeah like pre-veneer pete davidson yeah yeah at this
point it's a red flag because he's just uh known for being for dating everybody at this point for
dating all the hottest people yeah it's like a marker that you're hot yeah right you've been like
blessed with the Midas touch of Pete Davidson's dated you um that doesn't mean I'm not a fan
i love you know yeah curveball george clooney uh it feels like fine but duh yeah yeah cool good
answer um what what was uh frank's celebrity crush uh he loves dualipa when so when amelia
texted me that she was like what would you classify dualipa and i said gay yeah yeah she's
a gay icon i think it's yeah she is yeah he loves her and then he was like who was the other he
couldn't remember who his other celebrity crush was i'm like sounds hot um can't remember mr
liz's is anadeya ramas oh that was my ex's i think it's a red flag i think she's a red flag
celebrity crush um do you know anything about her she dated ben affleck yeah that's like all i know
um i think she is beautiful yeah absolutely she kind of looks like a child she has a really young
the thing like i think it's just because it's like men are not gonna say they like her because
they think she has a great personality true and she's hot it's only because she's hot
you know on that same note i think j-lo is a is a red flag absolutely because she's been like
that's anyone she's not nice yeah damn but like besides jennifer gardner i feel like that's a
green flag she is a big green flag but like j-lo is it's like common knowledge that she's not nice
you know yeah so it's like i feel like if it's like oh j-lo it was like that the person we were
with on saturday um his was olivia munn red flag and me and liz were willing immediate red flag
yeah because like she doesn't seem like kind no or like well even before like the whole thing with
john mulaney um she had this book that was like so fucking pick me and like fat shaming and
yeah she like said all the she said some stuff that was like not very cool and then she also
was like i love pie and i'm so quirky because i'm hot and i like to eat pie like don't you
hate that shit yeah i really really do it was very uh 2010s of her um anna de aramis though
oh she was in maryland that marilyn monroe movie and oh yeah like it's not a good depiction of
Marilyn Monroe like no she it did she had like a tragic life but she was also very smart and that
is not something that people like usually address and her death was mysterious so like there's just
kind of this like narrative about Marilyn Monroe that was like very misrepresented in that movie
yeah I heard it was I didn't watch it but I heard it was kind of written like a fanfic
yeah and that's just like but you know in her defense in anna darmus's defense like
you know it's slim pickings out there in the actor world and like that was probably she
probably got that opportunity and was like i'm gonna play marilyn monroe in a movie i know
that's oh my god yeah but also like like this is groundbreaking her publicist could have done
like a little bit more work so speaking of bad publicity where would jenna ortega go on the list
green flag absolutely yeah i fucking love jenna or i do too she's getting some backlash right
oh sweet lord amelia she's getting some backlash right now for what for the wednesdays like no for
um uh snow white that's not her oh who is it uh i can't remember her name that's that's not her
shut the fuck up wait can you find out jenna ortega has the weirdest fucking personality
like she is oh like ziegler is that's what it is wait but who did she what what who did she play
rachel ziegler yeah i mean like what else has she been in i have no idea
but we need to talk about jenna ortega i love her my brain just split into two pieces though
i just blew your mind i can't believe those are two different people because uh jenna ortega
is like april ludgate in real life like she has very similar aubrey plaza vibes what would you
say aubrey plaza is green flag huge green flag huge huge huge green flag and maybe a little bit
of a red flag for a while i thought it would like if you asked me pre like um like her renaissance
like pre like white lotus i would say red flag oh i would always say green flag i just die on that
hill i was whenever guys were like oh my god i was like are you out of your mind like it just
felt like it was like she's really quirky and i like her and like that's just a red flag kind of
mentality to me they're trying to signal something yeah that would be she would be under the trying
to signal signal something i would be a little concerned if someone said um jenna ortega was
their celebrity crush because she's so young i'd be like that's weird dude because that's why i
think olivia rodrigo is on the red flags because she's super young and sydney sweeney it's because
she has giant boobs and is a little republican so my computer is dead can you tell me where
rachel ziegler has acted in oh yeah this is blowing my mind i was like oh no wednesday
adams is over but i also didn't watch wednesday i've literally only watched it was a little like
parts of it were corny but it picks up um and like jenna ortega has such a good point she's
like wednesday adams wouldn't be in this fucking love triangle and um you know what if you haven't
seen it too bad the spoiler is like at the very end the relationship that is the most important
is the one that she's developed with her roommate oh and like everyone thinks that wednesday
died or is in trouble or something and then her roommate like finds her and gives they they like
have this huge embrace and just hug each other and like that is girlhood that is best friendship
i love like and they also make some good points like wednesday is incredibly selfish
in the in the show and then her roommate like she's like you're selfish you're not a good friend
and then she has kind of like this uh shift yeah and realizes that she is being very selfish
i've only ever watched i've only ever watched jenna ortega's um hot ones interview
that is the extent of my jenna ortega knowledge but she was funny in that i do think uh
oh i'm looking up rachel's we should definitely talk about that
oh she's in west side story which i have not seen
um she's really talented that's sad i saw her in west side story games i guess i should have
known i should have known who she was yeah she hasn't been in a lot of stuff she killed it in
west side story um fuck i'm getting so old like every blonde is britney spears to like boomers
you know it's like it's like me trying to keep up with the old nicknames of the guys you were
seeing i'm like which one's that again i love how unimportant they are now well you would have the
nickname but i needed the story well because the nickname started to be not based on the story
that's true you know yeah it was based on like some niche reason yeah and it was hard for me
to remember the niche reason there's fight night happening once again in front of amelia
every time you come over i always know now when they start grooming each other it's about to go
down it's about to be on site uh yeah so rachel ziegler who we now know is not jenna ortega
um she has been her publicist is probably pulling their hair out right now with how
people are perceiving like how she's talking about snow white yeah when in reality like i mean
she's like this is like a very old movie and it shows and it's like not feminist essentially is
what she's saying which like yeah she that's true yeah and but the way she's talking about it
someone uh described it as like very holier than thou yeah definitely it's it's like she just
discovered feminism and is like telling everybody about it and she's like if you don't agree with
me you're stupid she's also talking about it like so like she's being very hipster about snow white
she's like yeah i watched it once as a kid and i was really scared i actually really didn't like
the story and like here i am now making millions of dollars being snow white on this you know snow
white was scary she is to be fair but still she's causing some waves right now for a few reasons
like her opinion isn't problematic it's like the way she is like preaching it and sharing it is
very obnoxious oh totally and you know to be young and obnoxious is part of life it's just
unfortunate that she's young and obnoxious very publicly yeah that's so true yeah she was saying
something about like i should be paid for every time anyone streams this movie is a good point
and how she delivered it was so bad and it's just like the girl needs some media training is that
part of like the strike i thought that was part of the strike maybe but she was like screw she was
like yeah i should be if i have to stand in this dress for 12 hours a day i should get paid every
single time someone streams this and it's just like absolutely 100 on board with that but the
delivery was like like she just needs some media training she's young yeah it was uh it's been
painful to watch like she's just really cringe yeah about it and that's fine you know but she
could take it down a few notches like i and then i'm also questioning myself i'm like who am i to
police how a woman is expressing her opinion you know yeah but i also just don't agree that like
acting like you are smarter than other people and like above them simply because like
you feel a type of way is not the way to get your message across right I don't know if I did a good
job no no you did no that's it's so true it's just like trying to like you can have your opinion and
also like the way you get people to listen to you the most and for you to make a difference is to
like be open-minded it's very patronizing to be like i'm the first person that's ever noticed
that this movie that was made in the 40s is like backward and not how people think about things
anymore it's like no like i mean like disney has been a problematic figure for forever absolutely
like you can say like yeah we like made like a little we changed the storyline a little bit so
the goals are different and then just kind of leave it there and people will ascribe their
own meaning to that you don't need to be like i'm a feminist icon because i can recognize that like
men should not be at the center of like everything that we do it's like girl yeah you need you know
welcome to the cause but yeah happy to have you you just started the book so right your math is
wrong but you got the correct answer somehow yes and you get points for that and that's fine you
know like we've all had our journey with like discovering inter intersectional feminism yeah
and we're i'm still on that path you know there's always more to learn so good for her for starting
the journey um but uh i don't think like it's an especially hot take to be like yeah this really
old movie yeah like it's it wasn't intentionally problematic you know it's just an old ass movie
and an old story isn't it like a brother's grim tale i don't know i'm pretty sure it is it was
the most boring disney movie to me honestly it was also the first one oh fun fact okay so the
brothers grim published their book in 1812 featuring the story of sneen witchin snow white
it sounds like something dwight shrewd would say smeen witchin uh the tale contained many of the
elements we know and love today such as the magic mirror the poisoned apple the glass coffin and
the characters of the evil queen and the seven dwarves i wonder if she if there's a prince in
that version because the brothers grim story like fairy tales were fucking creepy that's the point
like the little mermaid i'm pretty sure she dies what was like the utility of the seven dwarves
that is a good question also i wonder how they're going to portray those in the new version yeah
especially with rachel ziegler being like we don't talk about things like this anymore
it's like yeah are you so how are you approaching this dwarf thing right yeah what was even the the
the point of snow white i'm i'm realizing now i actually don't know like she got a boy she got a
poison apple and a kiss had to wake her up apparently true love's kiss and i feel like
maleficent did a good job of like taking that apart you know was maleficent the wasn't that in
sleeping beauty it's still the true love's kiss thing though yeah wait that's such a lazy that's
lazy writing yeah like why like i'm sleeping why is true love's kiss waking everybody up why is
that the the remedy right i don't like this is assault this is this is run this is big kiss
propaganda how can you be in love with someone you don't even know anything about them that you
think they're dead you know i've been there i've been in love with so many dudes i know nothing
about so i don't know that's really funny i've i was like it's a true love's kiss man is it's
this is i don't like what they're peddling okay so this she's in this glass coffin and then she's
like the the prince is like i i need to see her i need this coffin and then the dwarves are like
no we can't part with this we like love her so much and then he's like i need this i need to
see her i beseech you give it to me for i cannot live without looking upon snow white if you consent
i will bring you to great honor and care for you as if you were my brethren when he spoke
oh when he so spoke the good little dwarves had pity upon him and gave him the coffin and the
king's son called his servants and bid them carry it away on their shoulders now it happened that
as they were going along they stumbled over a bush and with the shaking and with the shaking
the bit of poisoned apple flew out of her throat it was not long before she opened her eyes threw
up all over the throw up the cover of the coffin and sat oh she didn't throw up okay sorry but she
threw up the cover of the coffin and sat up alive and well oh dear where am i she cried cried she
the king's son answered full of joy you are near me and relate relating all that had happened he
said i would rather have you than anything in the world come with me to my father's castle and you
shall be my bride and snow white was kind and went with him and their wedding was held with
pomp and great splendor but snow white's wicked stepmother who also bidden to the feast and when
she had dressed herself in beautiful clothes she went to her looking glass and said looking glass
upon the wall who's fairest of us all the looking glass answered oh queen although you you are of
beauty rare the young bride is a thousand times more fair and then she rallied and cursed and was
beside herself with the with disappointment and anger okay so yeah it is weird that you know the
the prince kisses her in the movie right yeah i mean that's an issue of consent in this it's like
they like jostle her coffin a little bit and then she coughs up the red apple and she's like hello
also like i'm ready to be your bride the dwarves were like like kidnapped her kidnap her lifeless
body that's what it sounded like they were like no you don't get to see her she's ours oh well
by the point i was at like she had already like died from the poison apple or whatever and they
were just like we want her sad well they they were like no we're we're mourning the the death of our
i'm sorry lady i don't know there were seven of these these dudes and none of them thought to
shake the coffin a little bit all of these why are all of these men trying to get a hold of a
dead lady's coffin like that's the weird part to me and that's also why men are not employed at
morgues yeah because they try to fuck the bodies they don't even try to fuck the bodies they fuck
the bodies you know this is a shift but i was just thinking about like storylines like about
like badass women like actually good storylines it's like i didn't need snow white to be a badass
woman i don't know yeah right like i'm not i'm not better i wouldn't be better off if she was
like let's just make a different story why do we need to revisit this one yeah we've already heard
it i'm not interested yeah just just write a new story um you know taylor swift song the last great
american dynasty no okay you have to listen to because i i didn't i mean like i had heard it but
like i didn't put much thought into it and then when i saw her like i it was my favorite number
because i just like the production of it the most and so i like did research about what the song's
about and she wrote it about the people that owned her house in rhode island before her and like how
this woman um rebecca she like came down from st louis and like met the heir to standard oil so he
had like all this money and like she like turned his life upside down and like made him start
partying and stuff and then he died and everybody blamed it on her for like him dying and then she
just like would like fill the pool with like don perry on and like she like got in a feud with her
neighbor and she in the song it's the neighbor's dog but in reality it was she stole her neighbor's
cat and dyed it lime green oh my god yeah and like she would just like do all this shit that
was like she like spent all this money she like um played all these card games against salvador
dali like she was just like this chaos queen chaos queen i went down this rabbit hole reading
all about her on her um wikipedia and she was like i love that she was writing this song from
the perspective of like once Rebecca died like the house was like at peace for a long time until
she bought it 50 years later and like drawing the like public scrutiny that she had versus the
public scrutiny that Taylor Swift has you know and like how you know people are always like
going on about how she's like too loud and like she has like too much of a voice and like all
this shit and it was really this woman that was just like living her life there and just like
having a good time and I thought it was you have to listen to the song and this is also for the
listeners like it is lyrically incredible but like I love this woman and I don't know if she did
anything problematic so don't come for me if she did but like it she seems like such a badass but
yeah it was it's just interesting you should really listen to the words it's like I've been
she is a lyricist that's for sure I love her so much seeing her made me I mean I'm always proud
to be a woman but seeing her made me so proud to be a woman she just this woman the things that
she accomplishes maybe there's like multiple of her oh conspiracy there there's got to be something
i don't know i'm so hyped on 1989 taylor's version there's something with ai yeah maybe
she's a her performing live was like a hologram i know it wasn't but i love her very interesting
anyway meanwhile i'm like i need to lay down under my weighted blanket for an hour
yeah i mean like whenever i answer an email i'm like i did it that's it for the day y'all
she put on my do not disturb girl boss yeah do not disturb yeah my work's so hard
shall we i think we shall i think this is a good a good stopping point yeah cool well
thanks for listening tell us your tell us your red flag green flag celebrity crushes oh my god
and gay i'm very curious about go through any gay gay like i mean like a lipa gay right but
like for like dudes oh yeah let's name one before we wrap one one guy where that would be like gay
yeah like oh that's your celebrity crush gay gay um michael buble you're gay gay you're so
gay michael buble that's a good answer i'm satisfied with that um yeah tell us yours
your red flag green flag celebrity crushes and then what was the incomprehensible red flag green
flag incomprehensible gay and obvious and obvious we need to we need to continue this research it's
very important i love this this is women in stem yeah all right well play us out amelia
