Starting point is 00:00:00 i've been wanting to try boost bar but that's a scary name yeah boost bar yeah i don't know it feels like um this is doing drugs in your 30s like what do you want i'm on prozac and i felt like like the name the name prozac is also a little scary to me why it sounds positive pro yeah that's true it's not negative yeah we are here with leah canauer comedian extraordinaire that's right that term comedian yeah do people still use that yeah you just did no people do people do i'm a part of the problem there's boy comedians and girl comedians so yeah that's true we're here with girl comedian Leah Knauer I like that you might have seen her
Starting point is 00:01:04 on Comedy Central or in the Blake Lively lawsuit yes my best credit I would lead with I would say that before my name if I were you yeah nice to meet you I'm in the Blake Lively lawsuit I'm I'm Leah yeah it's pretty iconic are you allowed to tell us about that yeah oh yeah I didn't sign anything oh shit yeah should we start with that sure I actually meant to talk about it on stage last night and then I forgot that she said that in my intro um but yeah so I made a TikTok this was like July or August of last year before anything about the Justin Baldoni stuff like came out before anyone was talking about that I just saw the trailer saw the movie and then I saw her press and I saw how tone deaf it was considering the movie is about domestic violence right and
Starting point is 00:01:47 she's like yeah my hair care line my alcohol line yeah and like literally alcohol leads to domestic violence like 60% of the time you know like so it was just so tone deaf so I was like oh I want to make fun of that in a satirical way and then I made this video it has 8.5 million views oh no on tiktok that's crazy five million on instagram I think I was like one of the first so um yeah actually I'm like should I say this followed me after that oh my god oh that's kind of tea yeah I was like oh it's kind of outing um maybe don't post it as a clip um but yeah so I'm in the lawsuit because Justin Baldoni's team was like texting each other about it and they were like we did not do this like social media is organically talking about her so basically what
Starting point is 00:02:39 I'm gathering from that is that like Blake Lively allegedly believes that I was paid by Justin Baldoni's team to make that video and make fun of her but it's like no I made fun of you for free i got paid nothing i would have loved to get paid how did you get oh you didn't get paid for it you didn't was it not over a minute oh i i got paid in that way oh good for the the creator fund yeah but not by justin's team right of course maybe you should have no you should have taken it down and just taken some no i'm just kidding i mean i wanted to be subpoenaed yeah i've always wanted to go to court yeah subpoena me did you end up knocking nothing what did they like call you about this or no no no they sent like a letter through the mail how did i know my friend giselle
Starting point is 00:03:19 was reading through the lawsuit she just like loves lawsuits and she was reading it was literally on new year's day or you know new year's eve and she texted me she was like you're in this and then i can show you guys there's a screenshot of it's like page 12 of the lawsuit it's a screenshot of their text and in it you see my fucking smiling face it's the like you know the cover photo of the video and yeah it's crazy my name and face amazing that's truly incredible that would go right on my LinkedIn it's pretty cool that's so dope it's pretty cool I love that I'm immortalized congratulations on that thank you so much congratulations on all of your success that you've had but especially that one do especially that one we're actually going to talk about that
Starting point is 00:04:00 for the full hour sounds good um but we Liz and I went to see Leah perform last night and it was so you are electric oh yes that's the perfect way to describe it yes it was like the crowd was so locked in on you like i would imagine it must be hard as an opener because it's like you never know like what because you're warming the crowd up yeah like what's the vibe like are they ready to laugh you got everybody fucking like in like game mode thank you it was so fun i used to be a cheerleader so i feel like that really comes across in my comedy i was gonna ask you how do you like get into the headspace to go on stage because like Amelia saying like you are so electric and you have like such a big presence obviously we talked to you backstage before you
Starting point is 00:04:46 went out yeah so then seeing this like you you're like so chill and easy to talk to and then you get out on stage and you have this like big cheerleader personality I was like oh my god does she need to like meditate to like get into the headspace to just that's a good question there I didn't meditate yesterday sometimes i do if i'm feeling nervous for a show which is rare or nowadays thankfully um but if there's like someone important there or if it's like a big show i do do um oh my god i almost called it edm uh what is it called eft eft tapping oh okay it's like yes tapping in different spots you tap on like actually yeah like point pressure points and then you say positive affirmations um it's really amazing what galadarlings do you tell
Starting point is 00:05:32 yourself oh gala darling is my favorite and brad yates so check them out um what affirmations like i am strong i forgive myself i accept myself i love myself um you know like stuff like that yeah but i follow along with videos okay yeah oh it's guided that makes sense it's awesome yeah very interesting yeah it comes very natural to me like i just love performing and so even when i'm nervous and then I step out on stage it's like oh yeah like I love this you know what you're doing yeah yeah that well and then we were talking a little bit yesterday about how we were all theater kids and there is kind of that like you're nervous and then you get on stage I mean I haven't done that in so long but you get on stage and then you're like hit your mark but I know my lines
Starting point is 00:06:19 yeah yeah yeah totally yeah no it's it was it was very inspiring to watch you up there it's you're so much fun thank you and we're so lucky that you're here talking to us yeah this is so fun you are you had a podcast for a long time um do you want to talk about it what was the witches podcast yes it was about female empowerment manifestation witchcraft tarot um yeah all the all the good stuff yeah all my favorite hobbies just about to say that's like yeah i feel like it's very much both of your vibe uh-huh witchy thank you so much no it's like it does feel like we've talked so much about different things that you mentioned last night when we were talking um on the podcast but we haven't like dove into it much are you
Starting point is 00:07:08 witchy do you consider yourselves witchy i feel like yeah i'm probably more witchy than you are definitely what do you do that's witchy uh i mean i have a black cat now i i know a lot about astrology okay what's your sign libra ah yeah what's your big three uh libra sun aries moon sagittarius rising oh okay wow what's yours so we're all about justice we're about asking questions which makes sense why you have a podcast and then aries you're a leader you got this fire energy the passion oh yeah this this makes sense oh my god it is in direct conflict with my son so there's a lot of interesting wait how how so um aries is the opposite of libra oh so i have like this libra sun and then my moon is like a very kind of like you're like let's be fair but also
Starting point is 00:07:57 let's fucking burn some shit to the ground right and that's yes that's funny that is so you that's crazy yeah what's your big three do you know i'm a gemini sun okay oh my god me too yeah june 20th june 8th ah yeah cancer cusp oh my goodness um a leo rising and an aquarius moon do you guys have the same big three no that would be crazy but you're a gemini and a leo it's a lot wow do i make sense wow yeah yeah um wow that's so interesting okay gemini social butterfly chaddy again podcast makes sense leo do you like being the center of attention um it depends on the situation i think like not on her birthday not on me i hate my birthday oh interesting really yeah i think it's just like i don't like the pressure that comes along with like
Starting point is 00:08:51 like happy on a day like i hate halloween i hate the fourth of july i hate new year's i don't know wait you feel like you have to be happy on halloween yeah that's so funny because like being drunk and like going out and partying it's like sometimes i just don't want to do that and then i feel like a loser that i'm not out so i don't like the expectation that comes with halloween okay so stupid but halloween is like a whole month yeah to me it's not like one day it's like so there's less pressure on that it's that's true and also like knowing liz now because your birthday is so close to halloween i love it's revived halloween for me a bit because like she usually has a theme so i'm like okay i can like channel everyone dress up for my birthday as you should
Starting point is 00:09:27 yeah yeah what is your big three i am a gemini sun pisces moon oh yeah i'm really sensitive and sensitive gangster oh my gosh wait what's oh capricorn rising nice very cool yeah motivated um personable yep um pisces moon i would imagine is a lot of like highs and lows and deep exploration of your feelings and pisces is the old soul of the gem of the zodiac oh very dreamy intuitive i think that's where i get like a lot of ideas but also very sensitive um yeah gemini social butterfly very chatty love asking questions love meeting people and then capricorn let's make some fucking money capricorns are so fun yeah let's let's get down to business it's a fun sign to have yeah in the mix i learned so much
Starting point is 00:10:21 having these conversations do you you're aquarius rising do you feel like you're like a moon oh a moon do you feel like you're a rebel rebel really do i feel like a rebel in any sense i think that like if we were talking so like moon rules your emotion emotional sector i would say that like so mr liz is an aquarius so i observe him a lot yeah um there's a lot of compartmentalization and i feel like you're good at compartmentalizing your feelings like yeah like um i'm surprised when you're like done feeling something you know yeah i'm like i wouldn't be able to stop thinking about this so interesting also aquarius like you beat to your own drum the rhythm of your own drum i love that i think you very much like i think it shows up in your style too
Starting point is 00:11:09 my like blue on blue yeah my different shades of the same color that i love together um that's interesting that's really really interesting you have like a flirty athletic casual like when you're casual oh my god are you flirting with her all the time uh no it's it's that's interesting to hear because i feel like my compartmental i was actually just talking about this in therapy that oh yeah how was it therapy was it today or you had it today nice yeah oh we're so therapized here look at us not me you guys i need help okay yeah yeah you give therapy this is actually my therapy thank you thank you for having me yeah we'll bill your insurance oh i've been meaning to get that
Starting point is 00:11:55 wait you're giving me an idea to get insurance yeah uh what was i saying oh um that i feel like i have like sadness ptsd like i just like do not like the i was sad for so long that now if i feel like sad feelings creeping in i'm like i can't go there and i will not go there which is interesting i didn't realize that that was the case until recently i think that i can always find a reason to feel happy about a situation i'm i'm like a master manipulator of bad situations i think do tell i'm like i'm like uh i've always said everything's a lesson or a blessing okay i'm like if something bad is happening like what can i learn from this or like what door is this opening for me and i've done it enough times where i didn't believe it that i feel like i've
Starting point is 00:12:44 tricked myself into really believing it now which i mean like i do there are situations where i'm like you know like fuck this is fucking sucks but i'll i can usually turn it into something good and just in my personal life not in like the world there's a lot of shit going on in the world that you cannot lessen or bless it yeah but like things that happen to me personally sure i do feel like i've kind of tricked my brain into thinking that i can turn anything into a good thing i love that yeah that's fascinating that's like the opposite of me like i try and make the like bad i bad thoughts and like feelings like like I try to ignore them but then they're just it's like they're behind me like yeah yeah yeah hi and you can't totally ignore it and like feel happy
Starting point is 00:13:26 yeah it's just like I'm trying to get stuff done yeah go away do you feel like the SSRIs have helped at all with that absolutely well what are you rocking I'm on Wellbutrin right now okay so it's actually an atypical so it's not an SSRI right that's right wait just tell me that what does that mean um it's i like don't know all the details it treats so ssris treats serotonin and then um what is it ndris or something there's one with a d in them and that sounds like dopamine and then some treat both like effectser but then i was reading about effectser and people are like coming off of effectser fucking sucks right so it's like playing on so many things yeah because it's treating both and then um wellbutrin i believe treats dopamine but it's it's called
Starting point is 00:14:15 atypical because it also treats something else i can't remember but um i they like people who are like trying to quit smoking cigarettes or like are quitting like drinking sometimes they're prescribed wellbutrin because it helps them like whoa that's so interesting fuck yeah i was on sertraline and boost bar oh did you like boost bar i liked both of it i do i do remember when i started i was yawning a lot that was my main side effect it made me so not even tired but just like yawning a lot that's annoying interesting yeah because people would be talking to me and i would yawn in the middle and they would like get offended but i'm like i literally can't help it like yeah sorry having to yawn is like an annoying feeling i have though yeah that's oh
Starting point is 00:15:03 but no it was great once that went away it was really great and then i kind of just stopped cold turkey do not recommend but i did it and i've just been raw dog and since and i'm actually pretty good hell yeah yeah okay i've been wanting to try boost bar but that's a scary name yeah boost bar yeah i don't know it feels like um this is doing drugs in your 30s like what do you want i'm on prozac and i felt like like the name the name prozac is also a little scary to me why it sounds positive pro yeah that's true it's not negative zach yeah yeah negzak boost bar it's like a boost yeah that's true boost bar i don't know maybe it just sounds like eastern european to me and that's like interesting you know some just like you're
Starting point is 00:15:46 afraid of eastern europeans apparently maybe that's what's coming out right now i'm learning a lot about myself i was taking wellbutrin xl or xr whatever the extra large yeah extra large no i switched to um then i started trying uh sustained release and that it's like a different drug i feel like awake and like fuck yeah you can feel when it's like kicking in at certain times of the day no it's like i just don't feel as like laggy and like sad i guess i don't know it's harder it's harder for me to get into um like a thought spiral which is good hell yeah fewer fewer thought spirals as a pro always good i love that well i was like i could keep talking about drugs but i'll transition we were talking to you backstage yesterday you
Starting point is 00:16:41 mentioned that you talked about sex magic on your podcast which we again have we've only briefly briefly touched on so we would love to talk to you about it like what it is um sorry having a third microphone was making like our audio too loud oh and i kept trying to fuck with it oh my god i look like i'm screaming um i'll take this back let me know when you're ready you're good okay cool okay um so we would just love to talk to you about what sex magic is and how you got into it yeah all of the above yeah so sex magic is using sex and your orgasm it doesn't need to be sex with a partner um using an orgasm to like alchemize thoughts into reality it's basically like hardcore manifestation and using an orgasm to feel that feeling um so sex magic
Starting point is 00:17:37 i've done it with my man many times and basically you it should be consensual it has to be consensual and you talk beforehand like okay when we orgasm what are we manifesting what do we because you will naturally once you talk about it when you come together you will or you know separately you will like immediately think of that thing and you'll see visions of it happening and maybe it comes true in real life no pun intended um but you know regardless it gives you the feelings of that thing being real wow how did you get him to like he's on board yeah yeah i mean was he on board when you explained it to him he knew i had a podcast called basic witches so it's like yeah he knew yeah he knew what he was signing up for um and he's he's just down but yeah and we have
Starting point is 00:18:28 had things happen and like come true from it that's fascinating it's very cool and it's just like you just feel good i mean the endorphins that come when you orgasm are powerful and it's just another way to envision things but yeah you can do it when you masturbate too and just like come and think of it that's so interesting it's really fun and it makes so much sense i've always said to like whenever i've talked to like guys that i've dated or just like guy friends about masturbating they're just like yeah i don't know just like it's just a really just like jackal yeah but it's always felt like such a spiritual experience to me like even like when i first started masturbating so like it would make sense that there's like a way to channel that energy into something like
Starting point is 00:19:12 that yeah there's this meme of like it's like girls after masturbating and i think it's like marge simpson and she's like got flowers in her hair and she's like in the bathtub and then it's like men after masturbating and it's uh the guy from i can see the movie in my head but he's like shaving his face and he's like i'm gonna kill myself christian bale no okay i'm gonna kill myself it's luke wilson it's luke wilson in um yes royal tenenbaum yeah in royal tenenbaum oh he's like shaving his face and he's like i'm gonna kill myself today jesus that's crazy okay I mean it's it's you know there is a I feel like a difference obviously it's like that's a blanket statement but at least the conversations that I've had well you know so it's it makes so much
Starting point is 00:20:02 sense that there would be a way to channel that energy into something like manifestation totally I do recommend to you if listeners are going to do it like setting the vibe setting the intention so that means like every sense smell sound like what soundtrack elicits the feelings of what you want to manifest let's say like just for an example let's say you want to manifest getting like front row passes to like taylor swift so then you play taylor swift i don't know how that playing taylor swift as you masturbate i don't know but like playing yeah um or like the bonnie bear songs that she has um folklore i guess would be a good masturbation taylor swift album totally sensual yes um but yeah playing that and like lighting incense lighting your favorite candle
Starting point is 00:20:46 like really making it sensual and nourishing and like good vibes instead of just like how i feel like a lot of men masturbate which is like just get it done yeah you know totally wow okay incredible i mean like i so everyone should masturbate as soon as this podcast is over yeah or listen right now or actually yeah right now yeah we maybe we can do like asmr yeah asmr podcast oh no no not the mouth and i'm the one with the headphones oh no sorry my ears i um i came up with a game oh fun i love unless you have anything to add about it's it's on topic but also kind of not okay um is it broadway related broadway no no i wish fuck i wish um so as i was falling asleep last night i had this idea of a game called
Starting point is 00:21:50 sex magic or sex tragic love it and it's not necessarily about sex magic it's more do you think that these sexual things these they're specifically witchy are bueno or no bueno okay sex magic or sex tragic are you ready yes are you playing too i could yeah i want to hear both of your answers too okay okay uh all right sleeping with someone when you know the energy is off but the chemistry is insane sex magic sometimes you just gotta do it i agree yeah yeah and it could be magic how do you feel i'm gonna agree with that yeah i wasn't sure i was if you're like uh i don't know but we have a lot of chemistry yeah that's fun totally it can be fun like why not i'm literally gonna fuck around and find out yeah literally you're so right yeah no okay cool we're
Starting point is 00:22:44 all in agreement that felt like we're all making bad decisions great well i think also at this point like i don't know about you but i'm in my 20s i was just like oh sex is like so serious i need to like know that it's not gonna be it wasn't about having fun yeah you know what i mean yeah yeah that's interesting i mean i got it felt so personal and then like i don't know now in my 30s i'm like it's not that serious it should be fun yeah if they suck in bed don't ever talk to them again yeah yeah and by vibes off you don't mean like they're mean or abusive you just mean like maybe they're not long-term potential yeah right the energy is just it's not like a one sometimes that can be fun yeah i mean we've all been there and sometimes it's been sex tragic but like
Starting point is 00:23:34 not all the time we try you gotta find out you gotta find out you'll if you never try you'll never know exactly like the cold play song f-a-f-o p-e-f-o yeah oh my fucking god the way he said that too was like mic drop yeah he felt real sassy i am that girl yeah have you seen the gif of the cheerleader with the big bow and she's like oh yeah oh my god yeah that's what it was reminding me of that's funny i think that's from dance moms nice um okay next one reading tarot after a hookup to see what it meant sex tragic because i feel like you should trust your own intuition yeah you don't need cards to to know that yeah okay i like that you've changed my answer oh i was gonna say sex magic just because like why not uh-huh you know like the actual magic yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:24:31 um but it does feel you're right like you should trust your your like inner picker a little bit better than that what's your answer i would say sex tragic but i would also probably still do it yeah if i was crashing out uh-huh like what does this mean sure that's very fair yeah okay good letting a partner record you trusting them completely no nda sex fucking tragic no way agreed agreed yeah even if things are good you never know what someone is capable of or what they're willing to do absolutely i have a friend who like started an only fans with her ex who they were like new in the relationship and he was sex tragic through and through and he like has all the passwords and everything and like won't give them to her wow yeah is he the one
Starting point is 00:25:19 making money off of it still or well he's in jail now oh oh okay that makes sense quick question what is wrong with men that's that's a good question i've been wondering that for for like a few days we're never gonna know just just there's no way to know yeah if anybody has the answer dm us they could publish it and get like a nobel peace prize honestly anyway yikes okay moving along from that from that like now that i've like lightened the mood in here um well he's in prison and i think that's a good ending that's true yeah that's a happy ending that's true i hope he stays there if he can fucking rot how long has he been there uh like a month maybe and how long is he supposed to be i don't know i think his trial might be coming out
Starting point is 00:26:06 but he was in jail for like three years before for pulling a gun on someone you can still find his write a prisoner page oh my god oh my gosh yeah wait i feel like your friend though could get um like because there's sex revenge like um you know foundations that can help with i feel like she could get her password back she could also probably like contact only fans directly yeah yeah i really feel like she just like hasn't really tried much like no i highly doubt she's tried there's there's multiple routes that she could have taken okay that she just hasn't but i mean she has a new boyfriend he's flying her to like hawaii every week so okay i'm like is he nice to her yeah okay good okay you never know totally yeah yeah that's true uh okay
Starting point is 00:26:52 um having sex when you're sad to quote unquote feel close again oh sex magic sex tragic sex tragic i'm assuming this is a relationship that isn't going well but you say like feel close let's say yes in that scenario sex tragic yeah doesn't feel like it's coming from a place of i don't know like it's not like a place of happiness and desire yeah like your physical like not physical attraction but like touching like being physical with somebody it shouldn't feels like a band-aid yeah that's so true like having sex to feel close again when clearly the problem is emotional and not physical yeah totally yeah the vibes are the vibes are wrong okay agreed twagic twagic sex twagic okay let's do a few more um sex during a full moon
Starting point is 00:27:53 yes or chaotic energy waiting to happen yes yeah yes it's like the best time to manifest absolute okay so that's like really in like the realm of sex magic yeah that's the best time to do it hell yeah all right let the people know new moon full moon half moon quarter moon also all of them oh amazing but yeah but yeah definitely full moon and new moon okay that's interesting because i feel like a new moon would like for like a plebe like me that knows nothing like a new moon feels like it would be a bad vibe no it's dark well anytime that you want to have sex and feel good is a good time yeah um but new moon is about new energy newness and creating new things so it's a perfect time to to do manifestation okay and then full moon is about celebrating and the end of a
Starting point is 00:28:38 cycle and like you know celebration and feel good vibes so they're both really good okay i always get my period during the full moon me too oh okay yeah two real witches yeah well no but yeah yeah you're still a witch if you don't menstruate on the moon but but it does feel very like connected it's like whoa my cats act really weird i thought you're gonna see your cat also period that would be probably the moon they're both boys okay so yeah that would be weird um okay okay there are so many here i'm like really i love it i can choose i love it uh lighting a candle for your ex to release them right before hooking up with someone new oh sex magic i like that yeah yeah okay yeah it's like a good release you're sending a good
Starting point is 00:29:30 intention yeah yeah it does feel like there's nothing really nefarious there no if you need to do it you need to do it yeah yeah do what you need to do yeah because otherwise it could be sex tragic if you don't let go of that energy true not letting go of the energy sex tragic at the very least too it would at least mentally like signify yeah you won't be in your head like thinking about this other person yeah you're like no i released that yeah so now i'm present absolutely that makes so much sense to me okay great let's do one more love it um i'm having to be picky and choosy now um okay this is a term that i've never heard of sex tamping oh my god it's a callback to the
Starting point is 00:30:21 last night's show that was crazy that was yeah i like do your listeners know what that is sex wait what well she heather started saying tamp oh tamp fucking that makes more sense than woman calling it yeah sex tamping okay and she said it like everyone knew what that meant yeah do you want to tell no no yeah it was last night there was this like maybe like she was like 60 yeah in the audience of the of leah's show in the front row in the front row who when heather was on stage doing stand-up heather shaw if you don't know her comedy you also should check her so funny um and this woman was saying well first she her joke was about double tamping accidentally so you put in a tampon you forget and then you accidentally put in another
Starting point is 00:31:06 yeah and then done it she had already started moving on yes i think maybe she even told a full other yes and then this woman is like well what about sex tamping and she's like what the fuck are you talking about yeah too much audience participation there was a lot of audience everyone knows what that is and then literally other people in the audience go no yeah and then so heather would be like okay so what what it tell us what it is she's like it's obvious she wouldn't say what it is and then obviously when you hear what it is which is having sex with a tampon in it does i guess it is kind of obvious and she said it like she does that it's like wait that does not sound safe hygienic or no no do you like is it accidental or are you intentionally
Starting point is 00:31:51 having sex while you have a tampon yeah let's not do that that feels like a disaster waiting to happen yeah my friend did that on accident okay and she she was like super drunk changed her tampon forgot she was on her period forgot she had a tampon in had sex and then like i think she maybe forgot she was on her period and then like a month uh a week later the tampon because she's like i had the worst cramps and she essentially like gave birth to this oh weak old holy shit oh my god she could have got toxic shots yeah uh she's fine okay but she was like liz it was the most awful thing that's ever happened is your friend the woman from the front row thankfully no yeah she was interesting there were a lot of interesting people in that audience
Starting point is 00:32:42 a lot of characters very vocal crowd yeah which i hope i didn't elicit that no i think that i think because you were doing crowd work but then also i think like having the audience up like above you i think there's something where people are like i want to be part of the show i agree that's that theater is weird yeah it's a little interesting yeah it looks like a movie theater yeah it did well the last time I so I saw Mary Beth Barone oh cool at that same venue and like um that was her second show that weekend or I don't know that yeah second show that weekend and then um she announced at the beginning like this is a one-way conversation so you don't need to talk like don't chime in or essentially she said it funny and then um afterwards when I was talking
Starting point is 00:33:33 to her i was like i appreciated that announcement because i don't like a heckler it's embarrassing you're like i didn't come to hear you heckle this comedian yeah um and she was like yeah the night before like a lot of people were like talking to me and like chiming in interesting and yeah i was like you know what i think there's a subconscious thing with that stage specifically yeah where the audience is like totally high up and i definitely did notice that post-covid audiences are a little different oh that's interesting yeah tell us more way um it doesn't help that now crowd work clips on tiktok are like very very popular so a lot of times people come because they either want to be in a clip or they think that that's normal which it is a part of stand-up culture but not in the
Starting point is 00:34:19 way that it like really is now um but i i really noticed that with audiences post covid people were like in their homes for so long watching tv not used to like interaction so now they crave being talked to interaction they also like talk louder and don't realize that like this is not television that i can hear you and see you that you're talking or texting during a show it's just really interesting that the etiquette has kind of changed and not in a good way and i don't know if we'll get back to what it was because wow it's the precedent has kind of already been set that like okay now now it's but it's also I told Heather I was like it's also a compliment to the performer I believe that the audience feels like you're just making this up that it's not a
Starting point is 00:35:07 show and it's like a conversation because it feels so like natural that they don't realize that they're stepping on Heather's joke or my joke or yeah you know so but it is interesting that it has changed yeah this this was definitely one of like kind of the weirder experiences I've at least witnessed uh-huh and it's not like I go to a ton of like stand-up comedy shows but I've been to enough where I'm like this is weird this is a lot you are right about that room too because yeah when it's a club and it's just a flat floor and it's all tables people the performer can't see you so they won't feel as bold to yell out but yeah the fact that it was elevated it's like yeah yeah it was interesting that's interesting what you said about like clip
Starting point is 00:35:49 culture though because like that really is crowd work is like enormous on tiktok right now so it would make sense that people are trying to like clip farm you know but then farm i've never heard that that's what frank calls it like clip farming i think he might have come up with that um but it is also i guess not entirely surprising that covid would probably be the culprit for that because it does feel like everybody interpersonally is like forever changed from covid yeah and like especially people that like missed out on like high school yeah yeah graduation just like being forced to have like awkward interactions with people or just like know how to be a person in public yeah yeah it's that was all lost yeah missing out on all these awkward experiences
Starting point is 00:36:36 and then like being like glued to your phone and observing people and judging them constantly you're like oh everyone's gonna judge me yeah oh we all went through a mass trauma that we're we're still all unpacking and we i think we'll feel the effects of this for another like 20 years 20 years or maybe forever i don't know but it's like it yeah it's been five years and it still feels like we're just now becoming a little more normal more normal but it's a new normal that was crazy it absolutely was in the first week of COVID my friend that I was telling you about that's a clinical psychologist she was like doing research at the time in 2020 and she was saying like during the first time to be doing oh she was booked and busy she was busy busy but she was saying that
Starting point is 00:37:22 um they were already talking about pre and post COVID like a week into it yeah they're like she was like oh no this is going to change everything and this was when we all thought we were going to be inside for two weeks yeah so i was like you're being dramatic it's not gonna be like that but like the fact that this is this was an event that they knew would shift the psyches of people and it was so much worse than i think any of us expected i don't know i think like we just as humans need to give ourselves a little bit more grace absolutely about everything that's because that was a crazy fucking thing yeah yeah oh crazy wild covid made me care way less about my corporate job hell yeah i think that's good that's a good byproduct but then you're like okay this was so
Starting point is 00:38:01 doing well at work was so much of my identity and then you're like well now what what am i good at yeah a lot of people had that they don't care about me no matter how hard i work it's never rewarded like none of this matters they're just gonna replace me anyways did that lead you to leave your job um no i mean i still have a corporate job okay i just but you just changed your mindset on it yeah yeah yeah but it was still kind of like a little bit of like a identity crisis of like okay well I've had this like motivated work ethic since I graduated like now what yeah if none of it means anything then like what what where am I going to like create meaning for yourself so when we were talking yesterday you mentioned that you I forgive me if
Starting point is 00:38:51 i'm summarizing this wrong read oracle cards yes is that how i am and i have my own i have three of my own holographic oracle cards that i make and sell oh cool yeah i know i wish i brought them that's so i have journal prompts for bad bitches which is exactly what it sounds like and then i have rich witch affirmations which is money mantras abundance affirmations and then i have deck of hearts which is kind of just like general mantras um but yeah i love oracle i do tarot here and there but like i mainly love oracle can you explain what oracle like what the difference is tarot is like you have to memorize you have to like know the what each card means there's a lot to it and i just haven't done all that studying as much um but oracle tarot is following like a
Starting point is 00:39:31 journey of the fool and you know but then oracle is kind of straightforward you pull one card and it has like one meeting and you can like interpret all the different things of the card they're similar but i definitely gravitate more towards oracle cards are definitely not my medium really i like them yeah what's your medium um i feel like i'm yeah i know more about astrology than okay yeah yeah and i know nothing so i'm malleable you're a basic witch yeah basic witch yes um okay so do we like how does how does this go so i knocked on the deck these are our cards um and i have them spread out what do we want to ask we want to ask a collective question maybe questions for a question for readers or do one of you have a specific question on your heart
Starting point is 00:40:20 do you have anything in particular no I was wondering if should we like pick a question for the listeners yeah we could also do what I love to do is a kind of general reading which is like what do we collectively need to know right now oh okay I like that okay I like that a lot so listeners um let's all take a deep inhale and hold it at the top here we go hold it exhale I feel like a lot of people needed that breath there's a lot of like tension yeah I don't think people like breathe deeply enough okay let's see
Starting point is 00:41:10 what do we need to know oh it's right here okay this is it decay transformation merging and circularity okay so the card it's a naked woman lying underneath a tree and the tree has like i don't know it almost looks like huge grapes i don't know what you would like call that but doesn't look like a collection of grapes it's like a huge tree yeah two golden butterflies is flying around and we know butterflies are about transformation coming out of the cocoon also what i love about butterflies is you can't rush the process of the cocoon like if it comes out even a day early it's gonna the butterfly is gonna die sooner so it needs to be in that
Starting point is 00:41:56 uncomfortable that gross merging and like puberty almost of like to fully emerge as its most bold beautiful self so if you're in a period right now of feeling icky and gross and awkward and weird trust that it won't be forever and that transformation is coming um okay so the the naked woman makes me feel like just vulnerability also it's we're looking at her rear so we see like her butt and the just the whole backside so that makes me feel like since she's not looking at us it's like a voyeuristic of either we feel we the reader feel like we are being or listener we feel like we're being watched by someone or it's the the total comfortability of like you can watch me I'm just chilling I'm comfortable in my own vulnerability um but transformation
Starting point is 00:42:47 merging and circularity so that makes me feel like something is going to be full circle soon wow does this relate to either one of you specifically i i transformation merging you know it's interesting because what i almost asked you before we decided to talk about like you know the the great the greater good i guess um was like this is our first episode back from our break and we have been talking so much about like you know the like creative process and like the podcast needing like a facelift and you know like how we've changed as the podcast has gone on also there's two butterflies on the card oh how do we reflect the change that we've had inside on the outside so it's like the i'm gonna reread
Starting point is 00:43:40 the words on the bottom because the the transformation merging and circularity and just the word decay like feels like it's it's almost like pulling the death card totally and the death card is not bad a lot of people think it is it's not bad death card is actually it's making room for newness which we were talking about the new moon it's like yeah yeah it's making room I want to do like the fun part you know plan it like planning how the production will go like deciding like the topics and yeah with the team and do like the yeah yeah I guess with like Amelia yeah and then have have other people do like the editing and yeah you want to do the fun creative stuff yeah yeah I totally get that yeah everyone is yeah checking the camera
Starting point is 00:44:25 not everyone that's true there are people who genuinely love the back end like technical stuff god bless them not me but but people do um but yeah i'm like maybe this card is for you too because there's literally two butterflies on it it's about decay things changing okay also the book says out of rot emerges an opportunity for change ends nourish beginnings what must dissolve what can grow also it's page number 12 do we have any connection to 12 or the number three three is my number oh okay that's kind of crazy love wait why three what's one plus two is three numerology yeah you look at the numbers add them up there's different you're blowing my mind right now yeah like numerology i've heard that so many times but i've never like actually put any thought
Starting point is 00:45:16 into what numerology three well three is a triangle three is a very witchy number oh um what does three mean to you it's shown up everywhere in my life for like big moments and like since like theater you know like for my college auditions i was in group number three i was in um like ucla uh screen acting camp session three my mic number was three in the first stage play i was a lead by choice of these it's following you yeah yeah and then there's just been like things like my uh college dorm was three like wow shows up in like these moments that feel big to me so do you look at the clock at three three three a lot no four four four oh that's interesting okay interesting yeah yeah i always look at the clock on 10 22 which is also my
Starting point is 00:46:07 birthday whoa that's crazy i didn't know that i'll like look down and it'll be like 10 22 that's wild that's really interesting i look at 11 11 a lot yeah just by chance i'll like pull out my phone be like oh make a wish yep is that your number like elsewhere too or do you i mean i love every number yeah yeah like oh it's a sign yeah um oh i love three three three i get very excited about that one and then 11 11 those are probably my two fave times 11 11 is a good one oh yeah it's the best yeah balance angels do you like numerology i do i think it's so interesting it is taylor i was literally just gonna say taylor's is really into all this there's tea also i apparently there are rumors that speaking of numerology there is a wedding venue in uh rhode
Starting point is 00:46:55 island that um there is a couple that is asking for that venue on june 13th of next year and they're willing to pay for the couple's entire wedding and honeymoon if they can take that venue on that day and people think that it's taylor and travis whoa run and tell that i also think how'd you hear that oh yeah wow well wouldn't they not pick that venue then now well so i mean like that was the thing they were like there's a lot of people who are very rich that's true but the 13 is what makes people yeah yeah um 13th of next year yeah wow yeah um i don't see her as a summer wedding girly i didn't either she has fall yes i completely agree so who knows dumois was like she makes waiters sign ndas so the odds of are you serious yeah so the odds of people like
Starting point is 00:47:49 actually like having that insight just feels like like a hearsay kind of thing but just at any restaurant she goes to they have to sign an nda apparently that's crazy i'm gonna start doing that who the fuck are you that's such a good way to get special treatment like start assuming that you're important exactly yeah by the way remind me uh when i leave i have an nda that i need you guys to say yeah you can't release this i just wanted this is all just for fun yeah thanks for hanging out oh well this was really really interesting yeah and maybe we don't even have an answer right now but it's something to just think about maybe if something ends in each one our respective lives like it's not literally the end of the world it's actually opening an
Starting point is 00:48:34 opportunity for something new something else what must dissolve and what can grow I really love that I mean that's like I've always said and I think I already said on this episode earlier too like I always try to think of like how a door closing is opening up another for me and so like that is kind of along the same lines it's like what what has to die and we've been talking a lot about that like what like what is what is needing what do we need to let go of at least in this you know on this podcast to make room for what it can be you should do sex magic to manifest a team oh i love that that's a great idea or whatever else you want to manifest but like try sex magic see if it works mr liz is very um what's the word you can do it solo i'll probably
Starting point is 00:49:27 have to do it skeptic he's a skeptic but also he is um a virgin how do i say this um i can't remember i can't remember the word right now where he's like always playing the devil's advocate okay yeah contrarian yes he's a contrarian so he'd definitely try and poke holes in that okay so how does this work i'd be like just shut up and agree to it shut up and fuck me yeah is that too much to ask yeah you can do it by yourself okay that's a really great idea i'll bring it up to him i'll float the idea yeah maybe there's something he wants to manifest too yeah that's true but yeah write it down to like
Starting point is 00:50:11 be very specific like what does this team look like how many people is it or what are their genders what's the vibe how did you meet them um yeah and you'll be surprised that like you watch you write this down and then literally the next day you meet someone that's like oh yeah i'm a podcast manager you know i'd love that that's so okay so that's the process then before you like pre intention intention intention being very clear very specific about what it is that you are wanting to manifest okay and then trusting like it may not happen immediately but like trusting the universe and yourself that it's coming and that you're worthy of it's coming that it's coming and that you're worthy of of whatever it is that you want it's coming in your and you're coming
Starting point is 00:51:00 yeah everything's coming yes we're all coming it's just a win she we yes coming wow it's a croissant i love special delivery is this a ham and cheese croissant fuck yeah hell yeah i love that i'm gonna eat it for you guys yeah do it i'm hungry too um okay well i mean we can unless there's anything that you want to ask leah before we roll out the red carpet for her it's a red carpet there's a red carpet oh my god yay yeah i don't have any other questions awesome well where can people find you yes find me on instagram and tiktok at leah knauer l-e-a-h-k-n-a-u-e-r amazing do you have anything
Starting point is 00:51:47 exciting coming up that you yes um i have a new comedy special out on 2b 2b or not 2b my comedy special no it's not what it's called um it's called behind the comedian and it's like a docu-series so it's part comedy special part interview um like you know docu-series so yeah behind the comedian it's on 2b and i think it'll be other places soon i'm season three episode two it just came out that's so awesome thanks so exciting i know i'm excited that's so great oh i know what i'm doing when i get home tonight yay i haven't seen it yet sometimes you know how it is i'm terrified to watch it yeah i mean that is scary it's a little scary also because i filmed it like two years ago so it feels like i'm like a it was like a year and a half but i just it's
Starting point is 00:52:31 like i feel like i've gotten so much better since then so it's kind of it's it's like watch watching an old version of myself but i am doing a um a girly pop viewing party with my girlfriends when i get back to la so that'll be really fun to like watch it with them and feel the the loving energy of my girls watching yourself better now yeah but at first it's it's like hard also we were talking about like editing a podcast editing a podcast really helped me get used to also editing my tiktoks all the time it's like okay I've gotten used to my face and my voice totally yeah yeah that is like you get desensitized yes yeah I was like I asked Mr. Liz this other day I was like has my voice gotten more like whiny over the years do you think i don't know no well now i
Starting point is 00:53:18 don't know that's good sometimes yeah i don't know sometimes you find a new thing to be insecure about that's so yes like yes exactly sometimes when i'm editing i'm like why do i have so much vocal fry oh but that's also society has like made us hate like because that's like a thing that women typically not how i talk to people in real life yeah but like nobody really talks like how they do in real life on a podcast you know like people on npr don't talk like that i was also thinking about i would like yeah a croissant there's like ham and cheese there's like the youtube creator voice when they're doing like long form it's almost it's an almost newscaster voice hey guys welcome back to my channel like and subscribe today we're going
Starting point is 00:54:03 to talk about how that like button and then the influencer uh accent yeah it's like get ready with me to go to i'm totally guilty of that and uh and no judgment it's just fascinating to see that there's kind of this like intonation everyone has adopted when they're making like a video about them totally like get ready with me or whatever addressing an audience yeah i mean tiktok it makes sense to me because it's like short form so you so you want to be fast and engaging so you like talk really fast but yeah it is interesting though like i don't talk like that yeah not all the time totally yeah yeah i've got that's so true people's attention spans have like really dwindled yeah i remember when vine was a thing i was like six seconds is all that we can do now
Starting point is 00:54:54 yeah i'm amazed that we made it back up to one it's probably for the best that vine went away yeah oh my god totally but that was a time for the internet oh totally um okay well thank you so much thanks for having me this was so fun it was so nice chatting with yeah but you you do need to sign an nda yeah so do you okay this is not coming out to anyone this just never happened I love it
