Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, we're back in business, baby. I just shared a very important update with Liz, and now I'm going to share it with y'all. it's big news it is big news can i get a drum roll please my wiki feet rating is officially out of the three point somethings she's got four star tootsies got four star tootsies baby the dogs are barking i posted dogs out like my followers are some of the nicest people ever and like i posted this picture of me and cut my feet out and i was like had to cut my feet out can't afford another ugly foot rating on wiki feeder i might implode and then i posted a picture like a screenshot of the ratings also no free feet and no free feet that too but people were like wait
Starting point is 00:01:02 what no like that's so like we don't care what your feet look like we care like we care about how great your heart is like they were just saying the nicest stuff and I'm like oh like thank you I I actually don't mind that I have an ugly foot rating I think that's hilarious and then I looked on my wiki feet to see if um there were any new pictures on there because I've been pretty careful but these people are they have eagle eyes you know and my rating went up and i have some very nice comments on there mr liz and i have joked what if it was frank that's frank made the same joke he was like what would you do if you found out it was me this whole time just he's been playing the long game camming yeah taking pictures of your feet he's been like
Starting point is 00:01:41 compiling them since before i met him so wait babe so you have a foot fetish that we didn't know about but specifically just my feet i might be okay with it yeah yeah you know a foot fetish but only your feet but he actively hates my feet so i'm also a foot hater he might be that he might be one of the two ugly foot writings honestly i just i don't know i don't like feet i i feel bad i like when mr liz rubs my feet yeah um but only if i have socks on okay um and we call it toes and squozen yes i love that as a reminder um i mean i mean i guess i don't have to have socks i prefer to be wearing socks if he is giving my feet a little rub that's interesting but i don't want his feet near me yeah his socks are so tight he comes home and he peels off his socks and
Starting point is 00:02:34 they're like usually on the couch and i'm like yeah yeah i'm like do we need a little laundry basket over here for your socks but he he came home once i was like why are your socks so tight and he was like they are really tight and then like a few weeks later he's like ever since you said that i can't stop thinking about how tight my socks are he might need to get the size up yeah so he was like i've been wearing the wrong size socks and he's like i also just discovered i've been wearing the wrong size shoes my shoes are too small okay this is what the fuck this is proof like i don't understand how straight men survive without women how do you not know that your shoes are too he didn't notice that his socks were super tight until he called it out like that's
Starting point is 00:03:13 something that would that would haunt all of my days if my socks were too tight sometimes it feels nice if your socks are tight like compression socks yeah but if they're not supposed to be oh my fucking god it was so scary how did that happen i don't know but did something break oh no for the listeners um one of the phones that we're recording video on just flopped right off of its stand it scared the hos me i'm the hos thank you Liz is the only hoe that matters I'd argue that you're a hoe that matters thanks Liz you're not I'm not the only hoe what what's a hoe without her other half that's so
Starting point is 00:04:04 true fuck you're fucking spitting thank you you're welcome it's I've been keeping it all in since we've been on a break um yeah oh my god we're back we have to acknowledge that this is first time we're back oh gee yeah you just you and me yeah we had leah last week which was a great episode if you haven't listened great way to return yeah she's the best up yeah ready to go she's great that was so much fun and now it's just just the two of us we can make it if we try just the two of us liz and i hell yeah remix i'll keep going and gatsby um a lot has happened since we've been gone i was thinking like over the past few months like holy shit it's crazy that we're not recording the podcast when all of this shit is going down because a lot of shit
Starting point is 00:04:55 went down while we were gone yeah politically so much um charlie kirk got shot yeah i mean that being a main one that ruined my fucking day yeah seeing that video me too i was at a like a work thing and me and another one of my co-workers I was like holy shit like you had texted me and Mr. Liz had just texted me and I was like in between like a meeting and so I like pulled up Twitter first video yeah it was everywhere and then my co-worker also saw it and both of us were at lunch just like fuck this is awful we're not meant to see shit like that a terrible person didn't want to see him uh literally die in front of my face yeah so right and i feel like it's i have a hard time understanding how somebody can be like pro-gun regulation but then like celebrate
Starting point is 00:05:48 somebody being shot in front of everyone you know what i mean like you that doesn't compute to me like that that was that's a person at the end of the day but regardless we don't need to talk about that because we're gonna get fired probably there's been a lot of uh think pieces and discourse already there have been no one needs to hear our thoughts about it correct but Taylor Swift released a new album um we have opinions we have deferring opinions we do should we touch on that briefly sure why not and then I feel like we've talked a lot about Taylor Swift just in general so I really like it and let me tell you why I understand why people don't you know I'm not one of those Taylor Swift fans that is like no everything that she does is perfect and everything
Starting point is 00:06:32 has a meaning and like I mean that last part is true everything does have a meaning with her and she's always like planning shit out like two years in advance which is crazy and also like I I don't understand this whole like army that comes after people when they have opinions about her albums that are yeah if they don't like negative yeah yeah I liked it I think it's fun and dancy it's the same producers as 1989 which is one of her most successful albums i think that this is going to be i called it a grower not a shower which i was really proud of yeah i texted you that i was like god i'm fucking high five i am shakespeare at the end of the day but i really i was like oh that's a good comparison yeah it's like a it's a really small weenie until you know
Starting point is 00:07:20 you work it a little bit i the first time my first listen through i was like i do not like this and then um i heard a remix version of the fate of ophelia with new romantics yeah new romantics as the background and i was like wait this fucking slaps like it's catchy yeah um that's the only song that i like i really love the fate of ophelia did you see the music video no i think it would you would like it more i should watch it yeah um and then the rest of it i don't know the lyrics are a little like cringy but i feel like they wouldn't be so cringy if there was more happening with the actual music yeah like with the music production i'm like okay it needs it wants to be fun but it's not fun enough like i i just wanted to be like more of something yeah
Starting point is 00:08:06 a little bit more like okay you have it's the whole theme is life of a show girl like let's be a little flashy with it totally let's have some where's the where's the brass yeah where's the brass in this album and the title track didn't really hit for me no there are two skips which sucks because i love sabrina carpenter so much the two skips for me are eldest daughter yeah that I just don't like it also like I as an eldest daughter I'm like come on right I mean like all of my friends that are eldest daughters were like so hyped to hear how that song sounded yeah I was like oh I hope this is like badass and cool yeah it was kind of the opposite it was it was it was like very cringy like boomer aunt you know giving like former gifted child yeah
Starting point is 00:08:48 but I've been listening to you know the song father figure so people are like oh my god Is it about like Olivia Rodrigo? Is it about like da-da-da-da-da? Oh. But it's, people think, and now that I'm listening to it through this lens, I like it even more. People think that it's from the perspective of her old manager that ended up like fucking her over on her contract. Oh.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Yeah. Yeah. And it's so much better through that, through that lens. Highly recommend re-listening with that in mind. Opalite, so fun. Travis Kelsey's birthstone is Opal, I recently found out. Oh, because he's a Libra. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:22 that's mine too Libra King um yeah I don't know she's just she's my queen I don't think it was her best but I don't think it was her worst yeah I'm I'm kind of like when a song's a bop I'm fine with it yeah but yeah I I just wasn't into this I also didn't like the last one I I mean I didn't really care about the last one I'm like the last one was a lot of songs yeah it was really hard it's too many songs um she addressed that in her interviews too how she was like too many songs for me she was just like i just couldn't stop writing i was like so fucking sad at the time i was just writing and writing and writing and then what's crazy is like okay wait were all of those were most of those songs about maddie healy yes i just feel like a grown man going by maddie is
Starting point is 00:10:11 he also just like he looks like a sewer rat derogatory it looks like a sewer rat in a derogatory way yeah and then timothy chalamet looks like a sewer rat in a complimentary way yeah that's so true yeah like he's working it like he's used the sewer is his runway facts i love timothy chalamet me i just realized that i saw a super cut of like some of his best scenes and i was like no you know what i think i really love timothy chalamet you know he's great he's also like very cool apparently like i believe that just like a good a good dude um and him and kylie seem really happy i think that that was kind of a curveball i was not expecting yeah you know but i'm happy for them kylie seems really cool too i would hang out
Starting point is 00:11:01 with her um diversion real quick before we jump into the thing that we want we already talked about talking about when i was getting ready to come over here i heard the craziest fucking tiktok's like story time ever and i have got to share it you might you might have heard about it this woman her name is laid by tay on tiktok i'll just tell you the story so she has a boyfriend they've been dating for two years and like her boyfriend and her brother were like hanging out like a lot like they were like going out to the club together and like they were out late together and she was like they're kissing they have to be like fucking hoes together you know what i mean like they have to be and he has a baby mama that like i was gonna say are they
Starting point is 00:11:46 kissing each other well just wait okay so he has a his baby's mother um is also kind of like yeah they're like out together all the time like and they like won't answer their phones but they're like always getting like fucked up at the club together one night they come home and um they like are passed out without their pants on in the car together just like asleep and but like in different seats and she's like what the fuck happened i suppose i like sleeping with if you're wearing jeans yeah you got to get out of your hard pants uncomfortable right but like you're in the driveway coming to the house you know what i mean so you're jerking each other off they she was with her boyfriend one night and his phone i think he was like taking a shower and so she went through
Starting point is 00:12:34 his phone so she went through her boyfriend's phone and found out liz ball what liz ball knew all along that they had been having an affair her brother and her boyfriend she didn't even know her brother was gay she didn't know that her boyfriend was gay um and gay or bi i mean that's you know a little up in the air at least at this point because she found out that her boyfriend was using her to get close to her brother the entire two years that they were together what the fuck and when she went to go tell right when she went to go tell her um her brother's girlfriend she refers to as his baby mama she was like oh my god no way but then she was like she wasn't like really surprised and then she found out that she had
Starting point is 00:13:25 known the whole time and even worse she had a threesome with them what oh my god yeah yep so that's fucking crazy is that not the worst thing you've ever like being cheated on like you're like your best friend and your boyfriend you know that being cheated on like that is painful but then I've never even considered what it would be like for a family member and also for like your boyfriend's sexuality to just be like totally different than what you thought it was there was a few years ago there was a woman on tiktok who her boyfriend was hooking up with her older sister jesus christ and like they like her older sister and her boyfriend got together and for like a few months the whole family was on her side and then they were like okay well
Starting point is 00:14:18 you're making the holidays hard for us so you need to like just get over it and forgive her and yeah the main the main storyteller she's like fuck you like that you can't make me feel bad about this that's crazy like this is such a level of betrayal that like she doesn't have to get over it but then like if you if you're uncomfortable like I don't know I just think the sister is wrong in that situation uh-huh like um okay well don't you can't fucking come to anything yeah I wonder what yeah I'm like what would my parents do what would my parents do if something like this happened yeah that's insane I don't know what my parents would do either I think probably because you know it would never happen so it's hard for me to even put my head in that
Starting point is 00:15:06 zone my brother and i have different types but like god what like i don't think that there's any coming back from that really no and she doesn't talk to her brother anymore well yeah well is her brother at least dating her ex-boyfriend now i don't know actually there's no follow-up on that what if he has a boyfriend and a girlfriend the brother yeah does earn it it seems like yeah his girlfriend's fine with it clearly because he's like on the dl by so like she's just like yeah i don't know i like support him and whatever he wants to do i don't fucking know that i'm straight when i'm customer facing i would have to be i would have to be in a straight jacket around that if if my brother did that shit to me you know yeah straight
Starting point is 00:15:50 jacket me because someone's getting knocked out i would lose that fight because he's my brother's very strong but i would i would throw the first but i like i don't know how she was so calm and collected telling this story i don't know how long ago it was that you know because she seems like really fine now but she was saying she's like I've never cried that hard in my entire life like and I have not cried that hard since I can't imagine anyway that's at the top of my mind right now because I just listened to that on the way over here that's fascinating I thought so too one thing that I couldn't stop thinking about since the last time we recorded or like in between uh recording our friend who I've been thinking about our friend who uh exchanges blowjobs for
Starting point is 00:16:32 jewelry oh my god this is her partner of many years so fucking funny and when you know her it's funny yeah i feel like when you don't because i was telling this to frank and he was like what the fuck i'm like the same reaction he's like i don't think that you should be like exchanging like money or goods or whatever like to your partner in exchange for like sexual favors right more or less which I'm totally can get behind but then I was like were you surprised by the friend and he was like no I think that makes sense yeah it is very her coded but I was thinking about it and I was I think she's just at the end of the day she's a business woman yeah and I think she recognized that there is an orgasm gap um an orgasm deficit even and I think her
Starting point is 00:17:22 demanding um it has to be a 150 plus piece of jewelry yeah per blow job and i just think that that's orgasm reparation i think you're so right thank you yeah i mean i've been thinking about a lot blow jobs are a form of currency at the end of the day yeah yeah regardless of if you're getting jewelry or not you know you can exchange a blow job for a blow job that's still currency exactly you know I think demanding equity is important in this day and age yeah and if her partner is willing to provide that equity yeah I think that is a great exchange absolutely she doesn't like doing it and so she's figured out a way to make it a little bit more palatable for her yeah and I'm behind it can get behind that it's like I don't like doing it but I like when you're happy
Starting point is 00:18:07 but I want something in return yeah I don't want you to eat me out that's not worth anything to me yeah i want a 150 piece of jewelry and she was pointing at the table when the dinner that you missed she was pointing out all the pieces of jewelry that she had gotten for giving blowjobs sloppy toppy yeah she was like pointing she's like this one she was like going through her stack on her wrist just like this one was a blowjob um what if the next one's an engagement ring if you just give the best head that yeah he proposes like ups the value by like 200 percent yeah damn the next blowjob i give will be an engagement ring that's crazy she i mean she could really she could actually probably i feel i feel like she could probably barter that deal
Starting point is 00:18:53 yeah like i am not giving you a blowjob ever again unless you i won't get on my knees until you get on your pop the q yeah pop p the q yeah p the q p the q and we'll and i'll be the j but i still will expect a 150 piece of jewelry thanks yeah on top of the engagement ring i feel like i've run out of jewelry uh desires yeah i feel like what i would do is like bank them you know what i mean like i would because i'm saving up for i mean in my mind not actively right now but like in in my mind in like 20 years from now i'm saving up for a cartier bracelet okay if i was making money for every blow job i would just have like a running tab yeah until i could afford a cardi a bracelet like you're overdue yeah yeah i've given you what is the
Starting point is 00:19:44 math on that 400 blow jobs i wonder if there could be like a blow jobs a layaway yeah blow job option for jewelry yeah i know this can i clarna this um i know this sounds like so crazy talking about it well because like to you and me we were laughing at this yeah and then our boyfriends were like that's fucking weird yeah but i don't know i just thought it was so funny i think it's like i think it's brilliant i don't know i also think it's kind of funny that men are like no i want you to enjoy doing it like yeah i want you to do it for free and i love that her boyfriend has just accepted that she's not going to enjoy it and so he's going to have to like fork out some jewelry yeah i didn't i you know what it works for them they're going strong
Starting point is 00:20:33 and he's coming strong you know what i mean i don't i didn't we we don't know anything about this man's ejaculation i don't know anything about it and i don't want to and i don't want too yeah and I know enough we do know what we do know just in general yeah I've seen enough um so I came across this tiktok that I sent to Amelia about uh we're finally getting more and more studies on like women's health care um but they did more studies on like uh like uh fertility health yeah yeah and essentially what they discovered is that like the quality of your eggs is not dependent on um your age at all um and it's kind of its own ecosystem yeah in there like so fucking the way that like it's like your eggs like determine like which egg will be dropped
Starting point is 00:21:29 like yeah they have their own system in there so i would assume if if you're like in a really stressful time in your life it's probably not gonna determine like let's pick the best egg right i don't know i guess i don't know i'm not in there so i don't know what the decision looks like in there um i also wonder i mean like just like thinking further from there too like i wonder if because of like there's that ecosystem going on and that communicating going on if like the quality of sperm also like determines whether or not the egg is like sure that too that i think the thing that is especially interesting is that um you're born with all the eggs you'll ever have so at one point you were in your grandmother's womb yeah that's crazy i know
Starting point is 00:22:13 so i'm like you can't like tell me like generational like trauma doesn't exist because i think it's like there's no way you were an egg in your grandma's womb that's fucking nuts like the things that she experienced there have been times where i've been places where my gram my grandma has been and i'm like why does it feel like i've been here before whoa and i've and i'd ask my mom like have i ever been here and she's like no so wow i don't know there there have been a few weird deja vu things that's really interesting but um i yeah it's not the same with sperm like yeah sperm can be regenerated so quickly like it's not you're not born with all the sperm you'll ever have right but it's interesting that this is coming out now as it is
Starting point is 00:23:02 because we're getting more and more studies about how important it is that men are taking care of themselves like it's like stopping drinking three months before trying to conceive because it has such an effect on like the quality of the pregnancy and also like how the mother feels during the pregnancy yeah i'm going to be making frank frank is going like full it makes sense it's just crazy yeah i think it's also crazy that it's taken this long for us to make these discoveries yeah but that's why we need women in stem that's so true that's so true my aunt goes on this tirade a lot about how the board of gerber baby food i think it's gerber gerber is all men and she's just like yeah she's just like i don't know i just feel like unless you've gone through like
Starting point is 00:23:50 the literal body horror of giving birth i don't really want to hear from you yeah exactly there's just too many i want to hear from you on decisions about babies i just also the the board the just the general amorphous board makes no sense to me an idea of the board yeah oh they're the people who have all the money that give the money to the company i don't like it to do a business i don't like it veto it is kind of annoying yeah i'm i am yeah the board well because you're like who does the ceo report to they report to the board yeah that makes sense yeah fuck i know i don't and the board is just yeah usually like a group of rich people or in severance it's all in one person's mind allegedly we haven't actually gotten that answer yet anyway um i've thought
Starting point is 00:24:38 about deleting all social mania whoa or just deactivating it for a little while yeah that feels healthy yeah what would it be like to not be looking at my phone my friend got um a brick not sponsored um and she fucking loves it yeah you were telling me about that she's like she's like you realize how much you don't care about being on social media when you have to get out of bed to look at it yeah yeah like whoa true what but i'm also like you know a lot of the time when i'm like need to post a video i don't want to be doing it anyway yeah you know because it's like work now for me so i'm just like if i have to get up to do it i'm going i might burn my house down just out of rage i am constantly thinking about social media from like a marketing standpoint
Starting point is 00:25:25 and like also the way i like view consumers is always from a marketing standpoint so being on social media when that is how your brain works it's fucking exhausting yeah there i i'm subscribed to a lot of different social media newsletters one because i just like i needed to cut down on my screen time I'm like I can't keep doom scrolling and like have paralysis on my couch after work every day yeah it's just not functional I'm not accomplishing anything I feel bad about myself um and then I've wasted all my time yeah I feel like I haven't done anything yeah not a good feeling um yeah so being inside my mind is like a prison uh especially when I'm on social media and I forgot even why I was saying this I don't know I'm just constantly activating social media
Starting point is 00:26:18 yeah I'm just constantly thinking about like the consumption of social media and how every social media platform has started out as a community app so like yeah ways for you to engage with your community or find a community that maybe like you don't have access to where you are like Yeah. But if you live in a really small town and you're like a furry and you're like, I need some furry friends, small town furries and people are always kind of like clutching their pearls about furries. But literally Fursuit Friday is trending every fucking Friday on Twitter. Like you can't tell me you're surprised that furries exist because you probably know one. Yeah. They're they're out there amongst us all over the Internet. yeah anyways um but eventually like all of these apps if they want to stay in business they need to
Starting point is 00:27:15 like sell ads essentially yeah like so then it starts to become infiltrated with ads and then they start like once the algorithmic timeline became a thing that changed everything now we're all like addicted to our phones because it's always finding ways to keep you on your phone for longer and that has now become instead of like the entertainment slob now it's rage bait slob yeah and the amount of rage base oh my family chat got its first ai video sent oh no what was extended family chat was it a doorbell cam video no it was they're all over the place it was body cam video of an old woman who was allegedly going 112 miles per hour very old woman uh it's a sora video so the body camera is like ma'am do you know how fast you were going and the old lady's like
Starting point is 00:28:11 i was going 112 and she's like that's what the sign said and he's like you're on interstate 112 and she's like oh ha ha ha ha and then my brother and i texted each other separately and we're like we had just been texting about this because i was like do you think our parents could recognize an ai video sometimes i can't even yeah they're getting too good it's uh it's freaky and i do not download sora like i don't know yeah just don't fuck with it like don't contribute to learning so um yeah i replied in the group chat i was like just want to make sure everybody knows that this is an ai video and then i was thinking about it and i was like we're gonna have to start like training our parents on how to recognize ai there are videos of like youtubers teaching
Starting point is 00:29:09 their parents how to identify it yeah which is it's really interesting yeah i was like it recognizing an ai video or image requires so much attention to detail like it's always going to be little things like maybe the shadows are off the lighting is off like maybe the the people in the video are lit a little too perfectly like if they're on the subway and their faces are lit perfectly that's not a real video yeah and everyone's always attractive i'm like no one's this hot yeah it's people aren't this attractive like you really have to slow down in a lot of instances you really have to slow down the video to figure it out because like sometimes like random legs will just appear yeah you know yeah it's like oh but at the same time like there are
Starting point is 00:29:50 so many animal videos online that are ai now because animals are really easy to to for computers to figure out because they don't have like expressions so whenever i see like a funny animal video i'm having to like that's not real go through the comments i think it's very like ai is developing in a way that no one was prepared for yeah and i think like at least with uh with the big beautiful bill well um they tried to shoehorn in zero regulations on ai for the next 10 years yeah i mean and i was like no fucking way yeah that's not like there's no fucking way somebody somebody has taken yeah lobbyist money for that you guys were going you were reaching a little too yeah far for that one but i'm glad that it so it ended up getting kicked out of the bill
Starting point is 00:30:41 good just so everybody knows but that doesn't mean we're like in the clear by any means like there's still not even there's not enough regulation whatsoever no um my aunt was like what can we do to like recognize ai and i was like honestly the best thing you can do is be very vocal to like your local and state government officials about how unhappy you are with like there not being any regulation around ai because the misinformation and disinformation era is about to explode yeah i was just about to say that it's like a little bit of a diversion but like the what the white house had just like announced either today or yesterday about um like new rules for journalists in the pentagon oh yeah yeah and the journalists are like um fuck you yeah right
Starting point is 00:31:29 and but i mean the only people that are going to if they keep this if pete hegseth doesn't drop this which i doubt he will the only journalists that will be in there are like super ultra right wing journalists and that's all we're going to be getting information from the pentagon from so like we don't we're not going to be able to identify what's real or not literally propaganda yeah exactly they don't give a fuck you can't report on anything unless we approve it yeah uh that's not how journalism works no that's also i mean that's like what what trump's been doing with like kicking Jimmy Kimmel off the air getting Colbert canceled like I mean at least a few people are growing some backbones like I mean all it took was Disney losing a little bit of money
Starting point is 00:32:09 for them to be like oh shit yeah so yeah that's true really like honestly boycotting fucking works yeah I saw um somebody that used to I think he worked for one of the networks was like the most powerful thing that you can do is watch the commercials on the networks that aren't showing jimmy kimmel on on that channel because like washington was one of the places that they weren't showing jimmy kimmel when he came back on the air they are now but like watch the commercials on there write down every single advertiser that is advertising on this channel and call them and say like i'm not going to use your product anymore because you're advertising on this channel because all that these advertiser all of these channels all they care about is money from the advertisers
Starting point is 00:32:56 they only give shit they only give a shit about money so if those advertisers pull their ads from these channels they have nothing and that's like that's it you hit them where it hurts and that's where it makes the most difference which you know like that really takes people taking it into their own hands which is a lot to ask from the masses but it's really sad that that's why they want to force everyone to have kids because people who have kids don't have time to do that and they're less likely to go out and protest yeah because they have kids to care for they also have to consider like okay if something bad happens to me i have a family yeah so speaking of protests there's a no kings protest this saturday and i just like am afraid yeah to protest now i think
Starting point is 00:33:46 that so i i have continuously been thinking about andor i don't know if you've heard anything about andor so um for the folks listening if you haven't seen andor you might want to skip this uh because i will spoil part of it um it's so andor is a star wars show oh uh and it's one of the few good ones because star wars is just like they use their ip to just make a bunch of like nonsense garbage that doesn't actually add anything to the universe um but with andor uh i only saw season two i don't know season three it's the last season and it goes right into rogue one and um have you seen rogue one yeah a long time ago yeah it's kind of fucking depressing yeah going straight from andor into rogue one is really heavy okay mr liz was like let's like after we
Starting point is 00:34:45 finish andor let's watch rogue one and then we can like start star wars because i haven't seen all of star wars okay so we did we did all of andor and that or season two of andor and then rogue one and afterwards i was like i need a break because it was it was heavy but andor is all about like them preparing for like what happens in rogue one so rogue one is about like um getting the plans for the death star and giving those plans to the resistance um that's a good summary and andor is about like kind of like how it gets to that point like how the empire starts to really like seep in and take over and there's this scene at the beginning of the season of season two where there's like this
Starting point is 00:35:43 i think she's a general or something she um is very smart and she wants to rise the ranks of the military of the empire and um she's brought on to this special task force and they want to essentially like mine and destroy this planet for a resource that they need and they're like how do we get people to support us making this decision essentially and they show this group like this propaganda that they put together about how they like don't like the people of this planet does it sound familiar uh-huh it sure does and then at the end he's like the guy in charge of this project is like so what do you think and then she's like i think propaganda is only gonna get you so far you need a group of people that you can count on to do the wrong thing
Starting point is 00:36:35 fuck so like people who like believe you're like bullshit yeah who are gonna do the wrong thing um for you and at the end of the season there is a massacre on this planet and um these people are protesting because they want to save their planet and um a special ops person essentially uh takes out one of the police like so they kill one of their own and then they open fire on everybody and that was part of the plan so like you need to count those are the people who you are counting on to do the wrong thing fuck so like if it makes me think about yeah the no king's protest like what if there's some bad actor in there fucking person i mean there always is yeah absolutely a bad actor in there who is going to kill some ice member or something or an ice
Starting point is 00:37:35 member who is going to who who kills a cop they're gonna open fire yeah on this crowd of unarmed protesters yeah yeah and it's like i whenever i'm feeling like this like well i don't want to like go and do anything because like what if and it's like that's letting them win but also like i battle with this where i'm like well i want to be able to be a part of you know like making my voice heard there are other ways to do it yeah which is great you know that's like a positive of social media and also like the the symbolism of like showing up and being there is so great i'm worried more about other cities than i am about seattle yeah um because i i just think that seattle hasn't had to deal with it that much or yeah like yeah there's there's ice protests and like the no
Starting point is 00:38:30 kings protests and yeah um every other week there's like a protest on the corner in front of the farmer's market so like i i just there isn't as much like ice violence in seattle and um i also think back to the black lives matter protests like we were all pretty we were all pretty prepared going into those protests and it makes me think of like okay we need to remind people of how to protect themselves at protests yeah and um for starters having baby shampoo and a water bottle on you to wash out your eyes if you get gassed yeah but it's if there is my my fear is if there is somebody that wants to be violent having doing it in a spot where there's a lot of people all together out in the open like that's a very easy target for people and that's
Starting point is 00:39:24 why like I don't like going to protests I don't like like being at like big street events really unless there's like a lot of security there which there won't be you know it does I totally understand what you mean there is something that is very like scary about being in kind of an unpredictable crowd yeah um I mean it's one of the reasons I don't really like going to concerts yeah um yeah I mean the listeners know this at this point probably but I'm from Las Vegas and I was working in Las Vegas when the October 1 mass shooting happened and like all of my clients were like hotels and casinos and like the just having to like work and see what people were saying online all not only all day but like yeah we just had the most like tragic thing that's
Starting point is 00:40:21 happened to our city yeah and you have to like work that's it was kind of traumatizing in American history yeah yeah it was the biggest mass shooting in in U.S. history and um that was yeah it was very shocking a few people also had like texted me to see if I that would that was a concert I or not a concert a festival I had considered going to fuck but the week before I had gone to a different festival um and the shooter was at that one too he went to a bunch of different music festivals to scout out what would be the best place for him to shoot from above fuck he went to Lollapalooza in Chicago he went to Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas and then he ultimately settled on um the Route 61 festival it really has it changed how everybody is in like crowd you
Starting point is 00:41:18 don't think to look like oh somebody's gonna shoot out of that window yeah you know well yeah he was in a hotel room yeah like whenever we're at Capitol Hill block party for those that don't know that's a street festival in Seattle that happens every summer and it's it happens over a weekend and the main stage is like between two buildings and there's always people just hanging out of those windows that like live in those apartments or work in those offices and like I can't I like feel myself tensing up now every time that we're at the main stage because i'm like it just takes one person that wants to cause a whole lot of shit yeah you know like and i don't trust people's mental state anymore i just like don't so it's when things like you know
Starting point is 00:41:59 the no kings protest is happening i'm just like i don't like i would rather like find other ways to make a difference which sucks because like protesting is like one of our oldest like our really probably is our oldest way of making our voices heard yeah but I just like people are getting me and Frank were talking about this like people are are crazier just driving around like we're noticing so much more hostility just on the roads and it's like people are just looking for an opportunity to like wreak havoc I mean it makes me think about what Leah was saying last week of just like COVID was kind of a mass trauma that we are still dealing with the consequences of and I think a piece of that is like not having the socialization like sustained socialization that
Starting point is 00:42:47 we needed and then on top of that like kind of this forced political division among people like even with like even with now with shooters or people who are committing alleged like political violence i don't i i just like don't think like being like they're a liberal they're a conservative that's not solving anything and also it's it's also just like putting people in a box when like clearly their beliefs are so bizarre yeah outlandish that you can't really box them in yeah and i think that also is like you need to add that nuance to every single person that you see absolutely yeah i just have a hard time believing that like my neighbor is my enemy totally i mean this that um he was the quarterback for the jets
Starting point is 00:43:38 mark something um was recently stabbed like out in the streets and people like every all of you hear about this like people online were like oh this is you know like the right jump to be like this is why we need to clean up the cities like these cities are fucking they're a fucking mess and there are criminals out there but it turns out that that ex-quarterback had assaulted a like 60 year old uber eats driver and the dude had a knife on him and stabbed him out of self-defense and he fucked this man up this old man and he was like in the hospital his like eyes were like you know swollen shut he was in really bad shape and he wouldn't have been able to do anything if he didn't have that knife he probably would have been killed by this guy who was just on this
Starting point is 00:44:21 drunken rampage but the first assumption was like oh this man definitely got stabbed by like some yahoo in the street and like this is why we need to like clean up these liberal cities and it's just like this is not doing any good like this is just pulling everybody deeper and that's they that's what they want you know they want to like pull people deeper and deeper into their echo chambers and have everybody fighting against each other this in some way is like we are kind of in civil war right now like in a very modern sense i feel like it's starting to lose its appeal though i sure fucking hope so i think that rage bait is starting to lose its appeal i think that the political division is starting to lose its appeal and maybe that's just like maybe i'm just projecting
Starting point is 00:45:04 because i'm like bored of it i not that i'm just not that i'm sure i am bored of it i i am bored of seeing just like rage bait bullshit yeah slop everywhere i go yeah like i don't want to be mad okay i want to be entertained yeah i want to be looking at things that make me happy yeah and inspire me and i think that like i hope that everyone else starts to feel similarly where they're like i just don't fucking care anymore yeah like i understand that there are people who are conservative but also like they're quickly turning against this administration because they're doing a bunch of things that like make everyone unhappy and make their lives worse yeah and i mean i don't know i think i i just don't think pointing fingers at people is like
Starting point is 00:45:57 productive right now no so that's also why i'm like okay we all ultimately at the end of the day want the same things which is like to be able to afford health care to be able to afford housing to protect our families and our kids and to like protect each other and just like live a normal life and how we get to that end goal is gonna vary but i don't know republicans have a hard job because their job is convincing the general public that their bad ideas are good and beneficial somehow to anyone that is not a fucking billionaire yeah yeah and i mean they're like they're doing a really really good job unfortunately they're doing a really good job at stacking the i'm stacking the deck disagree and but i mean i was like i think their stupidity is gonna be their downfall i hope
Starting point is 00:46:46 so but i mean they're like putting people into positions of power to like skew the narrative that are that think like they do like um i think her name is barry weiss have you heard of have you heard about this yeah like she is now the head of like the of cbs of cbs she's never done any journalism she she's only done opinion yeah opinion pieces in the new york times and they're all slop like they're all just bad takes and they've done like uh she started her sub stack and which became like a newsletter that she hired journalists to work at and they've like made egregious errors like straight up reporting incorrect facts yeah so i don't know it could be interesting um i was listening to a podcast where people were talking about this um i was listening
Starting point is 00:47:37 to the town and uh they were like what do you think this is going to be like and it seems like she wants to be she wants to they're she wants to make waves yeah and is making waves to her going to be cozying up next to trump yeah or is making waves to her going to be going against what he wants and doing something kind of outrageous right but he's already like when he he went on this rant as he does and was like you know like cnn is so awful it's not as bad as msnbc though yeah i saw that cbs they have somebody new in charge so like and that's and i think that that's going to be really good for them i'm like who gives a shit what this old man thinks he's about to die too many people i i just i don't i don't believe it's that many like i think more
Starting point is 00:48:29 i think that they've done a good job of trying to convince people that a lot of uh people support him and his dumb ass party but yeah anyways it's scary right now anyway we as we do ended up well on a political rant what i originally had wanted to say when i'm before we got into like the politics of it all when we were talking about social media and kind of like rage bait slop ai slop i think that there's like a few ways this could go and i think there's essentially gonna end up having to be two sides of the internet like pinterest is already working on something where you can remove ai from seeing ai in your feed oh my god that's the fucking best because like people don't go to pinterest to look at ai no they literally want to see other people yeah
Starting point is 00:49:24 i also think it'll be really interesting to see how we like like how beauty standards change and adjust because i think people are going to get so sick of seeing perfect faces yeah that it's going to be kind of the opposite of this like instagram face or like the opposite of all this plastic surgery and filler where people are going to want to see like natural imperfections like even in china they're doing there's a trend right now with rhinoplasty where they're adding a hump a dorsal hump in their nose yeah yeah because it looks like more like natural i'm in vogue y'all it is a little more i mean it is kind of sad because it's more like european yeah but that is sad yeah but it's kind of the opposite of like what people are normally do when they get a
Starting point is 00:50:16 rhinoplasty that's really interesting so I think that like there's going to be a huge demand for people to like they're just gonna stop using social media platforms if all they're all there is if all there's left is just like AI rage bait slob the dead internet theory it's all just gonna be AI talking to AI I was talking about this with Frank last night because I buy all of my crochet patterns off of Etsy because I just like love supporting Etsy artists there is so much AI on Etsy now with crochet patterns because chat GPT can write a crochet pattern you know they're not good but like people don't know that when they're looking it's like oh I like that shirt I'm gonna buy this pattern that doesn't make any fucking sense yeah you know like it just makes me so
Starting point is 00:50:59 it makes me so sad because like Pinterest like Etsy people go on these platforms to like you know like find real things yeah and like yeah exactly so it's just i don't know it's all really scary to me it makes me sad so i do think that with the loss of kind of this what originally made social media popular to begin with which is community and now it being oversaturated with ai garbage i think that there will be a huge demand for social media platforms to either fucking get with it and make a toggle option to remove ai from your feed or prepare to die yeah like you're gonna be replaced you're going to be replaced by some inevitable social media platform um i'm also really curious to see what happens with the sale of tiktok
Starting point is 00:51:49 because it's not even like a real sale they're like saying we don't know what's in this contract either but the assumption is that there's just gonna be an american version of tiktok and that's all we see and that would be owned by one of trump's butt buddies so yeah i mean anything that rupert murdoch touches anything a billionaire touches just like assume that it's not gonna be good for you yeah like yeah they're only at the end of the day the bottom line is making money yeah i mean we see that going back to what we were talking about before we see that with taylor swift too you know she's a billionaire and she's she is wringing her fans dry you know you have to question everything that that the people that have way too much money are
Starting point is 00:52:39 doing yeah at the end of the day exactly no such thing as an ethical billionaire so uh i don't know i really hope that there's some social media platform that just figures it out here's to open yeah uh blue sky could have been a lot better but they i think they really just like flopped with how slow their rollout was yeah absolutely they tried to make it into this like club that you had to be a part of yeah you had to request to like yeah and then you had to be accepted like people don't care that much to join something no you know maybe raya but like yeah i don't know how they've managed to do it but i never got on a raya well next week i really want to talk about my boyfriend is ai oh my god we've been wanting to talk about that for so long i know
Starting point is 00:53:26 i want to put something together so it'll be more cohesive but that could be the topic next week tune in next week for my boyfriend is ai would you like to sing us out yeah oh my god it's been so long should we do a little asmr with the cat yeah okay we'll see if that is the asmr with grandpa all right we love you our children we've missed you a lot we just really picked a whole new tune we did we i don't know i just kind of followed my heart and i followed your heart too thank you yeah i feel good for it okay we'll see you guys next week Yeah, oh, oh, yeah.
