Real talk.
Real talk.
Real talk.
Real talk.
It is Wednesday and like you don't know the day.
Why do I tell the day?
Listen, just in case.
Some stay-at-home moms are like, I don't even know what day it is.
So you help them out.
Are you insulting stay-at-home moms right now?
No, I love being a stay-at-home mom. I just never knew what day it was.
You're not at home. I used to be.
Used to. Back in the good old days.
Alright, well welcome to the Hope Hotline.
You know the day.
Hopefully you know the hour. Hopefully.
It's 3 o'clock, just in case.
Just in case.
And I'm living on a few hours
sleep. Oh, really? I'm not living on
too much. I'm living on fumes right now.
And if you live in my house, you
know. That's not a good thing.
This girl, she needs
at least 8 hours.
I might
have
3 in me right now.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
I'm not, I was up.
I don't know why.
Like my girl, I watched her eat for like an hour.
And then do it.
I was intrigued.
That was it.
It sucked you in.
I was fasting.
I shouldn't watch her when I'm fasting.
I'm just intrigued.
Right.
So I'm watching, I'm watching her eat, which it's not a good thing. Cause I, I was fasting. I shouldn't watch her when I'm fasting. I'm just intrigued. So I'm watching her eat, which is not a good thing because I was intrigued.
Yeah.
I couldn't go to sleep.
I was like, this is ridiculous.
And I just put my phone down.
Oh, my gosh.
But then my alarm went off way too soon.
And, oh, I went to bed at like 2.
Yeah.
So then I got up at 5.
And then I stopped my alarm at 7 something to go to the gym
And then
So maybe I did get more than 3
Hours of sleep but it was restless
Well you know what when I woke up
Maybe it was after 2
I couldn't sleep
So I'm learning all these things in my head
You know what I was sitting there thinking
This is I'm so weird i was sitting there thinking about jamie jamie jagger's mother yeah my
daughter's boyfriend his name is jagger right so i'm sitting there looking and i'm thinking about
i'm like i'm wondering i'm like i wonder if jackson so it's jamie named, Jamie and her husband named their kids all
J's, right? Because they're both J's.
Right?
So they named it. I know.
I'm weird. I'm sitting there like, why am I
thinking this? Stop.
Just stop.
So I'm sitting there going, okay, Jagger
and then Jackson and Journey.
And I'm like, man, Jackson,
I mean, Jagger and Journey.
What?
Those are like, who thinks of those great names?
Those are, I mean, people think that great names are like all biblical names,
not busting on people who named them biblical.
Hello.
I'm Hope.
So, but at the same time, I sit in there going,
Jackson must feel really like, not jackson's not a great name
because they did it with an x but i'm just saying yeah like it doesn't compare to jagger and journey
right i'm like thinking man he must be kind of he's middle kid i'm a middle kid yeah kind of
get lost in the shuffle with being middle yeah but then he got the he got the name that like
just i don't think it measures up.
I'm sitting there in the middle of the night thinking of these things.
I'm like, what is wrong with you, woman? That's hilarious.
Do you want to hear a fun fact?
My name originally was supposed to be Cleopatra.
What?
Thank God it's Vanessa.
Could you imagine?
We call you Cleo.
I know, I was going to say, there would be a nickname.
But you know what?
Like Cleo is like too like close to Miss Cleo. Do you remember Miss Cleo. I know. I was going to say. There would be a nickname. But you know what? Cleo is too close to Miss Cleo.
Do you remember Miss Cleo?
Oh, yes.
So I didn't know.
It wouldn't have been good.
You wouldn't have done that.
No, no, no.
But then last minute was changed to Vanessa.
And I was named after Vanessa Williams because she won Miss America that year.
Then she got it taken from her.
And then she got it.
But we're not going to talk about that or why she got it taken from her.
I think she was naked in a magazine.
Oh.
She did.
You know.
She was shamed.
She was.
She was our first black Miss America.
And then it was taken from her.
Yeah.
Which, come on.
I mean, that was ridiculous.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Everybody would have gotten taken away.
But the fact that you got three hours, you look good.
I know.
You do.
I might have gotten a few minutes more, but not by much.
Because I kid you not, I stayed awake in the middle of the night.
I think after five, it was either, I don't know when it was,
but I was thinking of all different things.
And then when I started thinking about poor Jackson,
I started thinking, like, does this really matter in the big scheme of things?
Right.
But I mean,
come on.
Those are great names.
They are great names.
Absolutely.
She should like,
she should be,
she should think of people's names.
She should.
She should have a book.
She should have a book.
Yeah.
Great names.
Yeah.
Might be a short or if somebody, listen, you ever play the baby showers? She should have a book. She should have a book. She should think of great names. She could.
It might be a short book. Or if somebody, listen, you ever play the, at baby showers,
they used to go back in the day where you would make up names
for the person that's having the baby,
and then they would pick the ones that they liked the most.
Have you ever played that game?
Never.
I always opted out of the games.
What?
I'm not a game person either
but i had a name no i didn't i had a name that i was like if i ever have a kid this is the name
that i will name my kid okay and she stole it i was gonna say you didn't give it to her right
i did oh she stole it man she ended up going She ended up going, I love this name. And she took my name. That happened to my mom, too. Wow. That happened to my mom, too, with Charlotte.
What?
Oh, really?
She was supposed to be named, not Island, but.
Isla.
Was it?
Was it Isla?
And then, oh, you know who it was?
Yes.
Yeah, they took it right after she told her.
Oh, that's rough.
So she's like, well, I have to pick a different name.
Yeah.
We were the annoying people
that wouldn't tell anybody
what Allison's name was.
Stop.
She was baby A until she was born.
Nobody.
Because you didn't want anybody
to name their kid Allison?
Because I didn't want to hear their opinion.
Oh my gosh.
Let me tell you this.
It's the most annoying thing ever.
Name your kid.
Yeah.
Like Tommy, Charles Thomas.
Yeah. He goes bymmy but it's really
charles thomas yeah name your kid old-fashioned names and then on top of that name them norma
yeah as if right i literally had people go that sounds like an old lady's name i'm like well
they had to be young at one time. So I don't know about that.
I don't know. I'm like,
everybody old fashioned.
Like we're Tom and I are just old fashioned,
but that other name was not old fashioned.
It was very,
very trendy.
No,
no,
I didn't know anybody with it at the time,
but,
but it was so,
is it still a secret?
No,
it was Alexis Rochelle.
Oh,
I love that.
It,
it, it just, it flowed. Rochelle. Alexis Rochelle I love that it flowed
Rochelle
Alexis Rochelle
so yeah
and then she stole it
so I was like
well I won't be ever
using that name
no you won't
but I only had one girl
so I had to name it
after my mother
and my grandmother
yeah
true
or my nanny
I only had one girl
and I named her Emma
she's like mom
I wish you would have
given me like Victoria you know like something more yeah I name her Emma. She's like, Mom, I wish you would have given me like
Victoria. You know, like something more.
Yeah. I gave her Emma.
I'm very happy with my name. I know nobody
has your name. I've only heard
one person named Talia
besides you. Yeah, and a lot of them are spelled
differently. Well, growing up in the hood,
there was a lot of Talias.
Really?
No, not Talia, but Thalia.
Spelled the same, but
pronounced differently.
Yeah, that is.
I like it way better how Vanessa says it.
The ethnic way seems
to be the better way.
Whitey's just, we're missing it here.
It's just the language of love.
It is. I thought French was that.
What is it? It is.
Never mind.
Oh, is it?
Yes.
Never mind.
It just sounds so pretty.
It's way better.
Yeah, I agree.
I think Spanish sounds way better than French.
I do too.
If you're French, sorry.
Just roll those R's and you're like, you know.
Beautiful.
I love French.
I love Spanish.
There's some languages when I hear them, I'm like.
Like German.
German's one of those languages.
I just get the tick.
It's not pretty.
It's more like annoying.
Like just stop talking.
If I have to like clear my throat, like in order to speak your language.
Which is.
Well, with French French it's very
in like the back of the throat well so is if you go to Israel yeah yeah okay
that's not a pretty language yeah to me yeah so great country. Not a pretty language. Can't have it all. Ho, ho, ho.
So good.
What?
Is that the most shabby?
Well.
Ho, ho, ho.
Oui, oui.
Yeah, that's French.
All right.
Are we done?
Or what are we doing now?
I'm done.
I mean, we can do it.
We're missing Sarah.
Well, she's on my way.
She goes, I'm on my way.
Oh, she's not MIA.
I know.
Interesting. Interesting. All right. Maybe she got MIA. She goes, I'm on my way. Oh, she's not MIA. I know. Interesting.
Interesting.
All right.
Stuck in traffic.
We got late.
We got a lady,
a lady,
not a lady,
a lady arrival,
arrival,
arrival.
Okay.
Okay.
So you want to do your thing or do you want to do announcements and then go into the other
thing?
Okay.
Sounds good.
You got it.
She's got an agenda.
I've got an agenda.
I'm ready.
All right. Let's see what's. I'm ready. All right.
Let's see what's going on on Facebook.
All right.
A little quiet.
Hey, Deb from Michigan.
If you want to join us over in Rumble, tell your D-Mind.
Thanks for the fudge.
I think it's the same, Deb.
Oh, really?
Okay, Deb.
That's what came.
That's why that Vanessa brought in.
Oh.
That's the package you brought in.
Fudge.
Hey, Deb.
If you gave some fudge.
Oh, man.
Oh, you can.
Me and Heather will give you some.
I just want a taste. Oh, yeah. It's Michigan.
She says if it's the same,
which she can tell you, but if
it's the same, she says it's the best.
Okay. Nice. So I get off my fast
at five and I will be having some.
Perfect.
Exactly. Yay. Okay.
Sarah's still apparently on her way.
So she's letting us know in the Rumble chat. But again, Facebook, you can like and share and make sure you like our page too. So you can follow for all the updates. Talia just dropped the Rumble link in there. So that is available for you guys to click on and head over to Rumble once you kind of do all this stuff to help the algorithm do its thing and just help other people find us. And then, of course, over on Rumble, we've got the live chat going.
We've got everybody over here.
Sharon popped on nice and early with us.
And we got Sarah and Sarum and Logan is on.
And she's talking about having a girl named Caleb as well.
She also said, Hope, that she likes Norma's name much better because the other one sounds
like a porn star.
So just FYI.
I was pretty, pretty bad back then, but a porn star. So just FYI. I was pretty,
pretty bad back then, but not porn star. Bad. So funny. Pretty bad though. Oh my gosh. And
Anne-Marie's on and that's, I think that looks like that's pretty much it, but the chat is popping
and Sarah, we are coming to let you in. Um, so if you're over in YouTube, we say hello. And we also drop the rumble link for you as well.
If you want to head over and do some live chat. If you're watching the replay, just keep on
watching and keep doing keep on doing your thing. Of course, we always have black robe tv.com.
If you are watching during the timeframe of three to four, it'll just be the live channel that pops
up when you type in black robe tv.com. Otherwise, there is a channel and you can see it
says the Hope Hotline. Pop on that and it'll be the last one that we just played. Of course,
they're all there. So you can check out any of the old videos and always available for you guys.
Audio podcast is available as well. And that goes on later. We don't have a live option. So we just
make sure that it's put up later for you guys. So if you're driving and you're on Spotify and you don't feel like listening to music anymore,
or you're on Apple Music or Apple Podcast, you can always just click on the podcast.
Hope Hotline makes you follow it and all that good stuff too.
You'll probably get notifications as it pops up,
depending on how you have your notifications set up.
And we need some more questions.
So send them in.
Send in your questions to askhope at hope hotline.com.
We know you guys have good questions because we know you're having
conversations and you probably have not arrived.
So there's probably questions that you could ask and it's fun to keep the
conversation going.
Even if you think that you're pretty sure about it,
you never know.
So just ask a question,
ask a question.
We got Sarah in the house. Whoop, whoop. Um, digg question, ask a question. We got Sarah in the house.
Hot diggity. Hot diggity. Yeah. So we also have our merch available for you guys,
foundationchurchfl.com and you just click shop and everything is available on there. That's just
not the whole potline merch. There's foundation merch. I was wearing the foundation church
tank the other day and it is so soft,
and it just is very flattering. It fits really well. So go grab one of those as well. Unless
you hate your arms. You hate your arms. You're going to have to wear a jacket with it. But it's
so hot. So you also just have to get over it because I don't love my arms right now. And I
just, at this point, it's so hot. I'll suffer. Yeah. No more suffering. My arms are. No, no, it's too hot. It is like 5,000
degrees in Florida right now. So, um, and you guys all know we have our new merch, newest merch,
I should say. And it is the cute hat and it is built perfectly. The cute pink stitching. I love
it. So cute. Um, we got our dare to be coming. The next meeting will be June 28th. Um, and we will be
starting at six 30. So bring a friend. We'll have plenty of room in the big sanctuary. So
if you know anybody that maybe they're not, they're a little bit nervous to come to church
or they've shown interest, um, just invite them. I have a couple of people in mind that I don't
know if they would come on a Sunday. And, um, I feel like if they know it's more intimate setting
and it's just women, they might be more open to coming. So I'm going to invite some people as well.
If people are talking about like struggles and stuff going on in their life, let them know there's
a better way. And June 28th, there's a new meeting. I mean, if God puts on your heart to invite them
on Sunday, don't worry about it. Just do it. Invite them on Sunday, tell them to come. But
also there's this opportunity as well. And it's going to be amazing. I already know it. Just do it. Invite them on Sunday. Tell them to come. But also there's this opportunity as well.
And it's going to be amazing.
I already know it.
I feel it.
Okay.
And then we have our beloved lady conference as well.
So they can come to that in June.
And then just a couple months later, they can come back and experience like a whole three days of fun events.
Powerful and fun and funny and amazing.
And I mean, you have three powerhouses
here, so it's going to be awesome. It's going to start August 22nd and end the 24th. If you're out
of town, come on in, get a hotel and, um, yeah, join us. It's going to be awesome. It's going to
be fun. It'd be so fun. Dare to be is I am getting ready for that spiritually speaking um I think it's going to be it's going
to be different it's going to be good and there'll be food beforehand so yeah plan to come bring a
friend and especially somebody like you said somebody who is um maybe seeking some things
needing um some answers And maybe you do.
But I think God's going to show up and show off and speak into some people's lives.
And you never know.
You never know what the evening will hold.
So that's going to be exciting.
So, hey, listen.
Do you got my girls?
I do.
Yes.
Okay, so you guys know we have our peanut gallery.
Well, we have a new addition.
We can't wait to share it with you.
So, right in the middle.
Pastor Clover.
She cannot be left out.
No, of course not.
She was like, you're not leaving me out.
No, no.
So, Pastor Clover made her own cute little peanut gallery
character is that not the cutest it is so cute i mean she's legless that's the only problem that i
see in this whole entire thing but there's something we have no legs there's no legs or arms
yeah no she doesn't and that was probably a tip that would have been challenging but look like
she's a part you'd never know it unless i said something she's a unique character um and she's just right in the middle with her awesome earrings and i love that
they're just out there for the world to see listen she's got she's got her with the hoops i know
she's from she's from where i'm from she's like like the same place that vanessa's from yeah
the hoops have to exist of course they. But I just love that they're like.
Why are you only wearing one hoop, Vanessa?
Oh, no.
Vanessa's missing her hoop.
Okay.
I didn't even notice.
You only put one in?
Did one fall?
I think I only put one in.
I've done that before.
Okay, but at least it's on the right side.
You're on the good side.
Just keep your hair down.
Just keep this right.
Yeah, perfect.
Yeah.
There we go. I. Perfect. Yeah. There we go.
I love it.
Yeah.
So we've got this, we've got Pastor Clover and we've got our own little, everybody had
their little blurb about them that Cindy wrote for us and they were just so cool.
So of course, Pastor Clover had to have hers as well.
And so I'm going to read it and it says says Pastor Clover falls like a bag of hammers
when hit with the joy
a cheerleader for others and builds them up
to be successful
amazing anointed singer and fearless speaker
she is Hope's
DC compadre
is there another one?
no that's it
oh that sounds so good
and video IG DM partner in crime Oh, that sounds so good. I know. Ugh.
And video IG DM partner in crime.
And you could have done IG DM PIC partner in crime.
Ah.
Because when I read it, I was like, ooh, PIC.
I didn't know.
Is PIC a legitimate thing?
PIC.
Ah.
IG DM PIC. I used to know PYC. Oh, okay. What'sI-G-D-M-P-I-C.
I used to know P-Y-C.

Oh, wait.
Thank you very much.
Oh.
No.
P-Y-T.
P-Y-T.
It's a song, too.
P-Y-T.
Yeah.
Pretty Young Thing.
Okay.
I could have put that.
I-G-D-M-P-Y-T.
Pretty Little Thing.
Pretty Young Thing.
Oh, Pretty Young Thing.
Okay. That's right. You've never heard that song? I don't. Maybe, Thing. Pretty Young Thing. Oh, Pretty Young Thing. Hey.
That's right.
You've never heard that song?
I don't, maybe, but I don't know.
Yes, I bet you have.
Oh, yeah.
But you can't understand what he's singing anyway.
Oh, that's why.
I made up my own lyrics.
Oh, yes, you can.
I definitely made up my own lyrics.
That's back in my day.
I know when it was.
What are you talking about?
Mama say mama saw my coosah.
What is that?
What are you saying?
Okay, that part, you are correct. about. What is that? Okay.
That part, you are correct.
Mama say, mama saw.
Mama say, mama saw.
That probably isn't the same song.
If I heard it, I could do it.
Mama say, mama saw.
Mama say, mama saw.
Mama saw.
Thank you.
God bless Tao
That ain't even
Your time frame
It's probably on
TikTok though
It's on TikTok
It's on TikTok
I was going to say
Every time they know
An older song
It usually makes it
On social media
Okay
You're just good
Because you know
That's back in my era
Okay
That's not hers
That ain't even yours
Or Sarah's
I don't even know
How Sarah knows that song
Yes Sarah Yeah How dare you Wait which song The Michael Jackson song Yes Okay. That's not hers. That ain't even yours. No. Or Sarah's. I don't even know how Sarah knows that song. Yeah, Sarah.
Yeah.
How dare you?
Wait, which song?
The Michael Jackson song?
Yes.
P-Y-T.
Well, my mom was a big Michael Jackson fan.
So I had it playing all the time.
Like Thriller, all of that.
Okay, I'm freezing.
Oh, okay.
God bless.
Sarah, knock it up.
Can you turn it up to, just turn it up like twice.
Or once. Or once.
Or once.
Okay.
Girls of Popsicle.
I don't think I can answer these biblical questions in the frozen state that I actually am in currently.
I'm about to start shivering.
I'm sitting on my hands periodically.
That's probably why.
Because I'm cold.
Yeah.
Yeah, that might be why.
That might be it.
I don't know.
But I am every Wednesday.
Not always am I freezing in here.
I don't know.
Okay.
All right, people.
Let's get to the place or the reason you really tuned in.
Yeah.
Which is biblical questions.
What are you guys doing over there?
I can hear them whispering.
Biblical questions.
I can hear.
What is that? Biblical questions. I can hear. What is that?
Biblical questions.
That's what I laughed at.
I don't know what they're talking about.
I'm talking about the two Yehus on the end.
She was whispering to me, but it wasn't related to what you were saying.
Okay, then that means nothing to me.
It means nothing to me.
Hands up.
Don't shoot.
I might get blocked just because I said that. Hands up. Don't shoot.
I might get blocked just because I said that.
I know.
Thanks a lot.
I'm working so hard over here.
Oh, my gosh.
That's a false statement, too, by the way.
Just a prank.
That never happened.
Just so you know.
Not that I never said that.
I did say it.
But that never got said in that situation.
Okay.
I just want to clarify.
Thank you.
Let's get going.
Let's do this.
The Bible says to renew your mind, which makes sense because our mind is our emotions, thoughts, and desires.
I've always been taught that our spirit is perfect, but Psalm 51.10 says,
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
My question is, how do we renew the spirit within us if it's perfect?
Is our spirit not actually perfect?
Okay, so you've got to know when you're reading a scripture,
you need to know the context of that scripture and why it's written and who it's written about and actually who wrote it.
Psalms, a lot of Psalms was written by King David.
And at that time, it was either when he was being chased by Saul and his life was in danger or it was after he was king.
And well, he was after he became king, he was really good,
but he was really bad as well.
So this actually was written, King David wrote this.
And I'm going to read from you the Perry Stone so that you understand. So I can answer this question, but if you understand the foundation of everything,
there's really not much,
there's not a lot of questions then to be answered
once you understand the context of why it was written,
who wrote it, and when it was written, okay?
So, and you know I love Perry Stone.
So, I get made fun of a lot in my house about that.
I actually read the Perry Stone Bible today for the first time.
You did?
Yeah, I cracked my mom's open.
And did you like it?
I did like it a lot.
Did your mom, like, get mad at you for touching her Bible?
No.
Did you wash your hands before you touched it?
No.
She might have a fit over that.
You know that, right?
Her mother's a clean freak.
She'll be okay. She'll be okay. You've left any oil stains of any kind, you're dead meat. She might have a fit over that You know that right Her mother's a clean freak Yes she is
She'll be okay
She'll be okay
You've left any oil stains
Of any kind
You're dead meat
I don't think I did
She's a clean girl
Okay you're good
She'll never know
She'll never know
Well actually she watches
This podcast
So you're not
You're in trouble
Now knows
I asked her
Oh
I said where's your
Even better
I said where's your
Perrystone Bible
Look at her
And she said yes Yes you can read it She said it's by my desk Is it okay She didn't care I asked her. Oh. I said, where's your Perrystone Bible? Look at her.
And she said, yes.
Yes, you can read it.
She said, it's by my desk.
I said, okay.
She didn't care.
What a good mom.
What a good mom.
Well, I guess we really can't say no to your child who wants to read the Bible.
Yeah, that's true.
That'd be wild.
Like, I mean, I can, but it'd be pretty hard.
Read your own dadgum Bible.
Wow. But let's read uh let's see psalm 51 i'm gonna read
to you uh his what he starts out with about this verse so that you'll it'll make complete sense it
says this the title of psalm the title of the psalm is to the chief musician, a Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet
came unto him after he had gone into Bathsheba. So Bathsheba, he had an affair with her, which we
all know, and she was married to one of his, David's mighty men. There was five mighty men
that David had. And he ended up, Tom preached about this on Sunday, but he ended up having that officer
killed.
And it says, this psalm is filled with remorse and is a cry of repentance and cleansing.
It reveals the agony of disobedience and the emotional toil that sin lays upon the disobedient.
He pleads for mercy and for his transgressions to be blotted out.
God spoke of blotting out a person's name from the heavenly books for sin,
which is in Exodus 32, 33, Deuteronomy 9, 14, and 29, 20,
which everybody thinks that that's a New Testament,
but the Old Testament always reflects the New.
Okay?
However, David asks for his sins to be blotted out in Psalm 51.9,
which is not the one we're specifically talking about,
but it's the one just before what we're talking about.
So in this moment, David has got sin in his life.
So is his heart perfect?
No, his heart is not.
Or his spirit, is his spirit perfect?
No, because he has active sin in his life.
It's just like the sin separates us
from God. And although the Holy Spirit was somewhat different in the Old Testament, how David
experienced the Holy Spirit and how we experience the Holy Spirit today, because Jesus, when he died, he said, it is better that I go away
so that I send a comforter to you, right? And so that comforter is the Holy Spirit. So what we have
is far superior to them what the people in the Old Testament had, although they did have a spirit, it's just not the same. The Holy Spirit came in the New
Testament to convict us. So when we do things wrong, we have a conviction and we know that
we've sinned. They had the Levitical law and they abided by that law that said, if you do these things, this is the
sacrifice for sin that you must, you know, the price that you pay in order to fix that sin that
you have. So they had to go to the priest. They brought whatever that rule of thumb was for that
law that they broke or that sin that they committed, and then that would fix it.
And that's the veil.
That veil was torn when Jesus died on the cross and he redeemed us.
So there is some differences, but there is still,
he had sin in his life.
So his heart was not perfect.
And if you know anything about like, I mean,
for me, David was such a great man. Oh my gosh. He was such a great man of God. But if you look at what he did, it just goes to show you that anything's capable. I mean, he was picked by God to replace Saul, and that was an honor in and of
itself. But then he becomes complacent. It says that he went from doing God's work, fighting, fighting and winning all of these areas around that needed to be taken for the Israelites to grow and take over land and occupy.
He was a big warrior, right?
He was such a mighty fighter.
And what had happened was it said that he became complacent. It said that he would stay up all night, and he would sleep in the day.
And we become, when we have idle hands, that will get us in trouble.
So that's why we are to be about things.
And what happened with David is he became idle.
When he should have been out doing things,
he was at home, staying up all night and sleeping all day. If you read the scripture,
it's very clear how he got himself into trouble. A lot of people like,
that's why not staying in the word, tv too much being on your computer too much
even me like like watching my girl eat and for an hour maybe not an hour it's probably less than
that but it felt like a long time because i don't do the phone i don't look at that stuff very very
much for very long periods of time. It's idle.
You can end up looking at things that you have no business looking at,
participating in things you have no business participating in,
if you don't stay on task.
And that's what happened with David.
If you look at what David's, Bathsheba's husband was one of the top five officers for David.
This guy, they went, I'll give you an example
how loyal and how faithful he was to David.
And yet David had him killed because of Bathsheba.
He got her pregnant.
And so when he tried to cover up his sin,
it didn't work out.
And so now he has to have him killed.
Is everything good?
Yeah.
Okay, I thought I saw you doing something.
So now he has him killed, right?
But this guy was such a great man.
At one time when they went off to war, David was so thirsty that three of his guys,
and this guy was one of them, three of his men go off over onto the enemy's camp.
They go over into enemy territory, get David water, bring it back to him.
So they risk their lives so that David can have water.
And when they come back,
because David was such a great guy. He was such a great man. And they loved him so much because he was such a great man. He was so humbled by what they did. He poured out the water. He would not
drink it. If they couldn't drink it, he wasn't drinking it. And um it speaks volumes about the men who are loyal to him it speaks
volumes about david that he was such a great leader that they felt that way about him but it
also shows you how the the level people will go um of betrayal to to people that they're so loyal to or people that are loyal to them.
And I think that's one of the reasons
why David felt so bad.
And I think this Psalm is so perfect.
He felt so bad because he knew how loyal he was to him
and how great he was.
And then he betrayed him so, so badly.
And, but I think that, I think that's where, I think, I say, this is bad.
I mean, I'm going to take a detour with this. I say all of us should trust people,
but you should never trust anybody so completely that you don't, there's nobody.
How do I say this?
Because I don't want to ruin things for people,
but I think people put so much faith in people
that when the person shows how
real they are or that they're flawed yeah or they betray yep people fall apart yeah yeah yep and
they cannot handle it like you should only have that level of loyalty and trust in someone,
and it should only be God.
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, they absolutely will never fail you.
But man will.
Woman, man, they will.
And when you put that level of faith into somebody,
that's why marriages fall apart.
And people like walk away from churches because the pastor fails or falters. And because they've
allowed a man to be like their God. And man will never, they will fail you every single time.
I'm not saying that when you have great friends
or you have a fantastic husband or wife
or the leadership of your church,
I'm not saying that you don't trust them,
you don't love them, but always in your mind,
you should always know that they are capable of failing.
And if that happens, you can't fall apart.
You just have to be like, okay, well, you know what?
That's life.
But a lot of people, they can't handle it.
And they literally go into depressions.
They walk away from their walks with God.
They get divorced.
They almost, some people commit suicide. It's almost as if everything that they
counted on or made them stable,
because that one person falters and fails,
everything is for naught.
Everything falls apart.
I mean, everything is done.
It's as if there's no leg to stand on.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
The ground is very shaky.
Yeah, it's a fragile place.
And that's why we're not supposed to build our houses on sinking sand.
You know, and a lot of people, I just think that they've got their minds and their hearts
on the wrong thing. Yeah. They really do. But if you keep God number one,
and you know that your faith and your hope is in only him, when somebody lets you down or fails you
or betrays you or whatever,
then you're able to keep going on.
And you're like, okay, well, you know what?
I didn't expect that, but I knew it was possible.
So I'm okay.
Life goes on.
I think it's just being very confident in yourself,
confident in God,
and not allowing Satan and En-ROAD
for one second to take you down.
I don't know.
If you guys want to add anything to that,
you're more than, then I'll finish up
the question because I really think people are so frail. They are. And their hope is in man. Yeah.
Yeah. Growing up in the church, like everybody puts the pastor on a pedestal. And the second
he says something like their perspective, they don't like or this or that. They everything
crumbles around them. I mean, a lot of the pastors that I've been in under, a lot of them, not a lot of them, a couple of them,
they've had affairs.
Like I've been under one that was kind of shady.
Some of the financial things that went on.
That's one of the reasons why Tom and I are one of the,
because of being under leadership
where the financial way things were handled.
That's why we are very particular about how we handle the finances of the church.
Right.
Because we've been under it where it's been, it's been quite shady.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But people will literally walk away from God over these things.
Like the pastor has an affair.
The church falls apart.
I'm like, why are you following man?
Who cares?
And you see it often.
I think of one church in particular, like the whole Hillsong.
And there was documentaries that came out and just like people literally walked away from God.
Right.
Yes.
Yeah, exactly.
It's so sad and concerning.
It's very much so.
It's very concerning.
It's not.
I mean, it's not healthy to put your hope and trust and faith in man.
To a certain extent, you should, but reasonably.
Yeah.
Not that your life will fall apart if they mess up.
Right.
So Matthew 7, 24 through 27 says, build your house on the rock.
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who builds his
house on the rock. And the rains fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that
house, but it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock. And if you look at the
scriptures prior to that, it talks about the one on sand, correct? The next one. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will
be like the foolish man who builds his house on the sand. And the rains fell and the floods came
and the winds blew and beat against the house and it fell and great was the fall of it. Yeah.
I don't know.
That's for somebody for sure.
Yeah, it is.
That's for somebody for sure.
So like make friends.
Yeah.
Like have, have, have your community.
Have your village.
Have your tribe.
Tribe.
Make your friends.
Have a strong, loving relationship with your spouse.
Yes. All that's super important, and it's great.
But it can't be, like I often, almost every single time,
almost every single day when I pray and I spend my time with the Lord,
I make sure that the Lord knows he is absolutely number one.
And I do a self-check on that.
And I even say to myself sometimes, is that truth?
I mean, is he number one?
Because the only person that, in all honesty,
that could probably take that spot and that I've had to course correct
throughout my marriage is Tom.
And I think women by nature, we tend to, because we're loyal, we're devoted, we're nurturers.
We tend to put people in places we shouldn't or give them positions that we shouldn't just because our affections are for them.
But we are very loyal and they're tangible, right?
But even that, I'm like, I know.
Tom is down on the rung as far as God goes.
I mean, and I make sure.
You need to make sure.
I'm freezing still.
You need to make sure.
Like, I told you one, Sarah.
I think I misguided you. I think it's two. Yeah, to make sure. Like, I told you one, Sarah. I think I misguided you.
I think it's two.
Yeah, it's two.
Like Tracy said.
Just make sure priorities are the right priorities.
And if they're not, like, I've had to fix it before.
Like, a lot of moms, they'll put, especially when their kids are younger,
a lot of moms will put their children in that position that's very dangerous very dangerous
trust me I know the best thing you can always do is make sure that your
relationship with the Lord is uno numero say that in Spanish? Numero uno. God bless you. So good. You do that and everything falls into place
and no matter what anybody says or does or whatever, you'll never be like, it'll never
jolt you. Nope. Yeah. It'll never affect you. And that doesn't mean that you don't care. It just
means that your priorities are where they're supposed to be.
And then like people go through so many highs and lows, mountains and valleys. But if God is
number one, the valleys are never low and the mountains are never that high. It's always
consistent. And that's what Paul talked about. He know, he learned to be stable in all his ways.
Why was that?
Because God was number one all the time.
And whatever God told him to do, that's what he did.
And that's the one thing I love about Pastor Rodney.
Pastor Rodney says, he just talked about this at his last minister's conference.
But I've heard him.
I've been to so many conferences,
and he's pretty good about making sure.
He always says, before you do anything,
and that's not Burger King, people.
It's not going to Chick-fil-A.
It's doing things that make a difference.
Before you do something,
make sure it's what the Lord is telling you to do.
Because if you step out, you're wasting time,
but there's no anointing.
So don't do it.
And I find that a lot of people,
they feel something, so they want to do it,
but they never check with the Lord.
Is this what you would have for me?
And then when there's highs and lows, they wonder why?
Well, that's because you stepped out.
The Lord didn't tell you to do it.
So, but that's the reason Paul, Paul was always in the will of the Lord.
And that's why even, even being beaten, he could rejoice in prison, you know?
And so I think that's super important.
Does anybody want to say anything else before I read this other stuff? Yeah.
I just think it's a form of idolatry when we put people, I mean, we talk about things
taking the place of God, but also people can take the place of God in our life. And that's
a form of idolatry. And when that happens,
if someone lets you down like that, and you quote unquote, walk away from God, how strong was that
relationship with God to begin with? If that could shake you enough to be like, oh, well,
I'm done with all this. It wasn't. And I've heard people say, you know oh foundation church saved me um no jesus saved you foundation
church was a part of that you know or like oh our abide group you know it's it's just transformed me
no jesus transformed you using this group and the people in it so it's i'm hyper aware of that all
the time when but it's it is a form of idolatry and i think that some people
probably should need to ask the lord if they should go to burger king the last thing i'll say
about that well or kfc or chick-fil-a or any of the fast food restaurants that are poisoning us
thank you there is truth to that to a certain extent i mean but my pant size my pant size would
agree with that right right but they'll be weird about it, and they'll pray for the KFC,
like if I should go there, but they won't pray about
if they should leave a church or buy a house.
You know what I mean?
So it's like the weird thing.
But it is concerning when people are getting to that level
because people will get married because they fell in love,
and then they get divorced because they fell out of love.
And you're so happy with this church because everything's good,
but then when something's bad,
now you're mad at the church
or you love Abide or Tuesday group.
But then as soon as somebody says something
that confronts you, you're like,
well, I don't like it.
And it's like you were just saying, Hope,
the highs and the lows.
Like, just relax.
And everything should be spirit led.
It always has to be spirit led
because your feelings will lie to you.
And if you don't think that Satan
is a part of your feelings, you are sorely mistaken. Yes. Yep. He is all about your feelings.
He's a father of lies. Yep. So how do you think he lies to you? Right. One of them is through
your feelings. Yeah. He loves it. And as long as you abide in your feelings and it works,
yep. You will be like a wave tossed to and fro.
And it says,
expect that man to receive nothing.
And that would be faith wise.
That would be everything wise.
Right.
Don't expect anything.
If you're like a wave tossed to and fro,
you're going to get nowhere and you're going to be miserable.
So,
but I just find,
I just find,
you know,
that a lot of people put people before God,
and then they are so devastated when somebody disappoints them
or bothers them or fails them.
Whatever the case may be, people will fail you every time.
Every time.
But you fail people every day.
So, like, what's the diff?
But that's the crazy thing.
I'm always perplexed by it
because, like, the very people that go on social media
and call people out for different things.
And I'm not saying that they're doing the same thing.
I'm not saying that.
But they'll call out people for something.
And yet, they're doing something to somebody somewhere.
They're not perfect.
Or eventually you're going to do maybe not the very thing
that you're bothered by or whatever.
But you will do something
and you're going to want somebody to forgive you
or to give you some grace and mercy.
And remember this,
whatever you sow on the ground is coming up.
So you want mercy, you want grace,
you better sow it
because it's not going to come to you if it's not.
And you can justify all you want to,
why you feel like you feel
or why you're doing what you're doing.
I mean, you can justify it all you want to.
But remember, when you fail somebody,
because you will, we all do.
We all do.
Remember, you're going to want the same thing in return
that you're not giving.
So remember that.
Whatever you sow on the ground,
and this is one of the reasons why
I believe David,
because David was such a repentant and humble man.
He sowed that.
How he treated Saul was so honoring
when he didn't have to be like that,
that God honored him.
And when he failed, God remembered all of that. And so that's,
he reaped and sowed what he had planted. And I think that's one of the reasons why like Saul got
what Saul got, but David got what he got because of how the difference in how they both lived.
Did both of them get a little full of themselves? Yeah, they did.
But one always remembered where his hope came from
or his existence was.
And David always knew everything existed around God.
And his life was the way it was because God.
Whereas some people, I just posted this on Facebook
and I'm not a big Facebooker, but I just saw,
no, I know I did it on Instagram.
Pastor Rodney had the greatest,
see if you can pull it up for me.
He had the greatest, what is those things that he does?
I see them through my friends.
What is it?
Reels?
No, they're not reels.
It's a daily thing.
The thing that Jagger always posts.
There's a whole bunch of people.
I don't know if you have to be from the river to get them, but
I see a bunch of my river friends. Jagger has it on his
desk. I think Jagger has it
too. It's like a business thing, right? It says
leadership principles by
Dr. Ronnie O'Brien. So it's
leadership principles, but this
leadership principle, I'm going to see if I can't pull it up really quick. Oh, you know what?. So it's leadership principles. But this leadership principle,
I'm going to see if I can't pull it up really quick.
Oh, you know what?
I think it's gone.
Oh.
So I'm going to try and pull this up really quick because this is something that I have said,
but this is something I have said many times.
Wait, here, help.
Oh, here it is.
Okay, you got it.
I do. And I actually, I have it in times. Wait, here, help. Oh, here it is. Okay, you got it. I do.
And I actually, I have it in my pictures.
Hold on one second.
This was yesterday's.
And this would do people very, very well.
Don't pay attention to the critics who criticize
or praise that comes from the lips of admirers.
Both will kill you.
The critics will cause you to be continually searching
for your approval,
and the admirers will cause you to think you have arrived.
So don't care what people say.
Don't care what people think.
Okay, there's a balance to all that.
But the great thing about David is David didn't read the mail.
Like all his admirers and everybody that praised him
and thought he was the greatest thing,
one of the things about him was he still knew where his help came from.
And that's balance.
As long as, I mean, people will say nice things to you. People say nice
things about this podcast all the time.
And I love and I appreciate
it. I really do.
People say nice things about this church all the time
and they're very complimentary
of Tom and myself.
But I will tell you
that Tom and me, Tom and I,
Tom and me, Tom and I
do not, what is that? Oh, put that up
while I'm talking. Everybody, if you have Instagram, you need to sign up for that because
I'm telling you, it's phenomenal. Every day is so stinking good. And he's so Holy Spirit driven. I
know that the Holy Spirit gives him that stuff. But one of the things Tom and I never do is we
do not, when people say nice
things to us, it pretty much goes in one ear and out the other. And the reason why is if I have to,
if I live in the admiration, I have to live in the criticism. I refuse to live in both. I don't,
I will not. Because the critics will destroy you as much as the admirers will, uh, will build
you up and make you live on a mountain. I mean, it is, it is not healthy. It is not healthy. So,
um, way better to be in balance and, and, and to know why, who gave you your purpose,
why you're living it out,
and the gifts and callings that have been provided to you,
they're not anything that you did.
It's all because he created them inside of you,
and he's allowing you to be used.
And that is a powerful and very, what is it when you are, I want to say potent, but it's not potent, sobering.
That's the word I'm looking.
That is a very sobering mindset and understanding.
And once you, what's the right word I want to look for?
Once. Once.
Once you walk in that revelation,
then really, again,
nothing anybody says or does to you will bother you.
We're just like,
this world that we live in is such a feels world
that we just, have uh bought we've we have bought
what has been sold to us and if if it don't if it's not said the right way if it's not done the
right way and it's not perceived to be what we want then we we gone so soft so soft it's like why people need to have safe spaces yep
or play-doh yeah it's like or a dog yeah true you know like i can't tell you how many like i
i'm not saying that there aren't people that need service dogs but But I kid you not, I have seen more people that have to have a service dog
to be able to cope and function.
Got to get outside of yourself.
God's got to be number one.
And as soon as he is, you'll be all right.
Well, let's go back to perfect spirit.
So with this, I looked up Matthew Henry
because you are saying,
let's get back to it
because I've lost you.
Psalm 51 10 says,
created me a clean heart,
oh God.
David did not have one
at this time.
He had committed adultery
with Bathsheba.
He got her pregnant.
Then on top of that,
he had her husband killed.
And renew a right spirit
within me. So he is trying to get himself
fixed. He's getting, he wants to get in good standing, back in good standing with God. That's
what that's meaning. So my question is, how do we renew the spirit within us? If it's perfect,
it wasn't perfect for David. That's why you have to know when you read these things,
you have to dig deeper than just looking at a scripture for face value.
So Matthew Henry says about this particular scripture,
when he says he prays for sanctifying grace,
it means David prays for sanctifying grace
and this every true pertinent is as earnest for us or no and this every true penitent
I'm going to put my glasses on
ah that feels better he prays for sanctifying grace and this every true penitent penitent
penitent is as earnest as for pardon and peace.
I still can't read.
And he does not pray, Lord, preserve me, my reputation as Saul.
I have sinned, yet honor me before these people.
There is a drastic difference between the heart of David and the heart of Saul.
No, his great concern is to get his corrupt nature changed.
The sin he had been guilty of was, and the evidence of its impurity,
and therefore he prays, created me a clean heart, O God.
He now, meaning David, David now saw more than ever what an unclean heart he had
and sadly laments it.
That's why Tom says, don't feel bad to lament.
Lamenting is good.
David proves it because we should be remorseful for the things
we've done. Not, you know, sweep them under the carpet and go, well, God's grace. You know,
sometimes you got to lament. But sees it's not in his own power to amend it and therefore begs of
God whose prerogative is to create that he would create in him a clean
heart. So he knows where the clean heart comes from and he knows he needs it fixed. And he only
made the heart and he only that made the heart can renew, make it. And to his power, nothing is
impossible. He created the world by the word of his power as the God of nature. And it is by the word of his power as the God of grace that we are clean,
that we are sanctified.
Clean is in John 15, 3, and sanctified is John 17, 17.
It was the cause of its disorder and undid much of the good work
that had been wrought in him.
And therefore he prays, Lord, renew a right spirit within me.
Repair the decays of spiritual strength,
which this sin has been the cause of, and set me to rights again.
Renew a constant spirit within me.
So some he had in this matter discovered much inconsistency with himself. Super important.
So he was in sin.
His spirit was not perfect.
And because of that, he was praying to the Lord to fix it
because he knew he was the only one to be able to do that.
You only have a pure heart when you are in alignment with the Holy Spirit,
when you're in alignment with God.
Outside of that, sin separates you.
And you have to remember that.
And a lot of people think they can sin and still have a relationship with God.
No, you cannot.
Sin, God does not abide in sin.
Not active, living sin.
He does not abide in it.
He will not have anything to do with it.
If you struggle with sin, that is a whole different thing, though.
Struggling is a person that says, that sins, knows it was wrong, gets it
right. And in his heart and his mind says, I will never do that again. A person who lives in sin
says, this is just how I am. This is what I want to do. And God, you're just going to have to go
along with it. You're going to like, I know that it says that this is a sin, but you know what? I want to do it and I'm going to do it. God does not abide in that.
That's not a repentant heart. That's a person or that is a man who says,
God, these are my parameters for Christianity and you need to fit in my parameters. When God says,
these are my parameters. I am the Lord.
Either you abide in me being the Lord or you don't.
And most people today only fit God into their lives
and in their Christian walk,
Christian walk, if they're living in sin,
as they see fit.
He's not the Lord of their life.
They're the Lord of their life. And he'll have no other
God before him. So even if it's you, even if you're your own God, he's not going to allow it.
And that's just the fact. That's just the facts. Like him or not. That's the way it goes.
Does anybody want to say anything before I do my sponsor? Because I got a minute 39.
And I don't care because I always go over. So. The
only thing, Logan made a good point that they
are called emotional support dogs
for the ones that are
using it. I understand that.
And some people
need them. On the
whole though, people need to get
out of their feelings. Their emotional
support feelings.
And they need to mature. If their feelings right their emotional support feelings right and they need to mature if they're not saved i get it but if you're saved and you need an emotional support
dog god's that dog right so and he should be fulfilling that spot versus like a service dog
which would be for somebody like sarah was saying disabled or blind sorry and then like the soft
part yeah but the thing is is when you go into a grocery store,
they don't have emotionally support dog
on the side of the dog.
Right.
They have service dog.
I know, I know.
I'm just saying.
I think Logan was trying to delineate the difference.
Because I think you said.
Service dog.
You said service dog.
Yeah.
But.
Well, that's because when you go into,
when you go into the grocery store,
it doesn't say emotionally support dog.
It doesn't.
So that's the reason why I don't
really care. Not that I don't
care that Logan was trying to identify it.
I'm just saying I don't really care.
I know
why I said it was because
they are walking by their
feelings.
If you're not saved, I get it.
You wouldn't know any better.
You're getting a little emotional about this.
You don't need an emotional support dog.
Logan said, that's what I'm saying.
Chill.
Chill, ho.
No, I understand.
But I'm saying that I understood what they were.
I'm not using that term because nobody knows.
A dog does not get identified like that in the grocery store
or when you take it to the restaurant.
No, it doesn't.
It's a service dog.
It's a service dog.
It does.
So, I mean, we can be technical if we want to,
but at the end of the day, it doesn't change anything.
Right, right.
So, Laura Keller, real estate property professional. Coming at you. Laura Keller. Real estate property.
Coming at you.
I saw her again on Sunday.
Now she's caught my eye.
Did you say hi?
No, she was worshiping.
I was going to let her.
Well, you can interrupt her.
Like Vanessa did. Just kidding.
I know.
I caught her in the lobby.
Vanessa at vanilla.
Vanessa nearly took her down.
Vanilla vest.
Yeah.
I was taken aback by her
beautiful arms.
We already talked about that.
I am working on that right now.
I too
will have arms like that.
It might take me 20 years.
It might take me going into glory.
Eternity.
We'll get on that some point. It it's rough i mean she's our girl
it's rough okay if you notice on that logo that are that picture yeah that you have up there okay
phone number underneath that is the website yes i only like go over a few things. If you go on that website, it'll give you a,
excuse my language for a sponsor or a little mini commercial,
but a buttload of information that you just, I mean,
she even has references and referrals on there.
Or not references, referrals.
And they're good.
So you may not need her now.
But I can promise you, you at some point will probably need her.
So I'm going to give her resume really quick.
Let's go.
30 seconds or less.
She's been in business since 2005.
She's a Florida State Certified Residential Appraiser.
I bet you she can
probably go all over the state of Florida that means I would think because I could sell real
estate all over the state of Florida I mean I specialized in one area but she's uh she's been
and she has been for 24 years she has three locations Lakewood Ranch Port Charlotte and
Tampa and she's about to open one in Inglewood.
She is one of the most trusted appraisal companies in Southwest Florida,
and she has done approximately 10,000 appraisals.
She's approved by over 300 banks, lenders, and government entities all over the United States,
and her company can do just about anything, ial properties up to four units. She works with FEMA using the 50% rule,
settling estates, probate situations,
inherited properties where the heir or heirs are not local and need the appraisal for their attorney.
She does step up in basis appraisals
for capital gains taxes,
and they also provide assistance in selling properties.
So I think she works with RE-MAX for that, if I remember right.
So if you need to get an appraisal, she's the one to call.
And when you do, tell her that you heard about her from the Hope Hotline.
So.
I know the counties that they provide services in.
Oh, good.
Can you tell me?
Because you're on the website.
I am.
Which everybody needs to go to.
Yeah, I dropped it in the chat.
So Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto, Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Lee.
Oh, she's all over Southwest.
Yeah.
So she's just those counties.
Don't blame her.
She's not only pretty to look at, she's smart.
Yep.
Gotta love a smart woman.
Hey.
That's a bit of a problem for me.
Even though you're asking me questions.
Not the brightest crown in the box.
Hope enough.
But you know what?
You don't have to be when you have the Bible.
That's true.
I'm not the greatest test taker.
Oh, me either. Didn't do great in school. Me either. But I love Jesus. what you don't have to be when you have the bible that's true i'm not the greatest test taker oh me

holy spirit and listen any pretty much the bible says any dummy can read that book and understand
what it says proven hello he uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. Thank you, Sarah. Yep. I agree.
Every day.
I am confounded daily.
By me or yourself?
Both.
I don't blame you.
Oh, man.
Well, you know, whatever.
Yeah.
Whatever.
Whatever.
