Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Hope Hotline today. It is a very happy Wednesday. It's Wednesday, right? Yeah, very happy Wednesday. It's Wednesday, right? Yeah, it's Wednesday. I've literally lost track of time. Me and Tom on Friday of last week, Tom was like, it's Friday already? And I'm like, I know. I know, what's going on? Because I get lost in days. Yeah, Me too. Me too. You know what happens? You'll be in my therapy for five minutes or less. You know what happens is when you never really take a day off, you don't remember the days off.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Yeah. Which I'm totally fine with because I love my job. Right. But I, except for Sunday, like obviously we go to church, so I'm like, okay, it's Sunday. Yeah, that's true. Sunday. Sunday. But after that, it's a blur. Same. I know I'm here on Wednesday, Friday, but it still doesn't matter. I'm blonde.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I forget. I don't know if it's Wednesday or Friday. Can't be Friday. Because we have the VIP conference in Tampa. Yep. Speaking of. If you're,'re all looky, looky, go ahead with that. I didn't even know you had that for me, girl. I got it. You know, it's just not a one touch, one experience, but it's pressing in. You're going to leave changed. You're going to leave different. It's not going to evaporate.
Starting point is 00:01:41 It's not going to leave you. Some of you, he's going to start something in you. Some of you, He's going to continue what He's done. Some of you, He's going to take you to another level. Just let God do what He wants to do. But you need to make yourself available when I need to make myself available. And together, the will of God is done. Just one person gets hungry.
Starting point is 00:02:18 It'll overflow to many lives. That's it. That is the most real woman in ministry I've ever met in my life. She's great. She's phenomenal. If you want to go to a conference and experience and be challenged to change, it might be a little long, but it'll be worth every minute might yeah absolutely it'll be worth every minute that is she is the most real person ever now in that video i'm watching that video and you know what i'm thinking i'm thinking
Starting point is 00:02:58 when i saw uh pastor paula white yeah that's the night that they asked me to do security on the end of the front row because she was there that night. And listen, I was packing on the pounds so much. Oh, my God. The dress that I was in, I looked like a flipping bouncer. No. I did. They showed a picture of me.
Starting point is 00:03:22 You know how they pan the crowd with the camera? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, who's that? No, you didn't. I'm like, that's you. That's you. I was like, yeesh, that's you. Okay, you're never wearing that dress.
Starting point is 00:03:36 I think it's burned. Oh, no. Like, I literally look like a bouncer. I'm like, I know why they asked me to do it. Because I look like I could take down any, like, grown whatever coming Paula White's way. It was probably just the camera angle. No, it was not. It had to have been the mirror angle, too, because I went home and I looked at myself.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I'm like, how in the world did Tom let me out? Now, no. You know, I should have known when I walked out of the room and he didn't go, you look good. He was just like, see you later. I should't know. You know, I should have known when I walked out of the room and he didn't go, you look good. He just was like, see you later. I should have known. That was your cue. Yeesh, woman. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:04:12 That's funny. And it was a yeesh woman all right. It was pretty rough. But you served your purpose. Never wearing that dress again. My mom even. I was like, mom. Because my mom watches.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I was like, mom. She was like, yeah. That dress was not helping you out. I was like, mom. Because my mom watches. I was like, mom. She's like, yeah. That dress was not helping you out. She was much nicer. But in a mom way. That dress was doing you no good. Oh, wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Or I was wondering why you were wearing that. My mom is very, very nice. She would never, ever tell you that you're a fat tub of lard. But you know she's saying you're a fat tub of lard in a very nice way. In a sweet way, yeah. When she's like, yeah, I know. Oh, my gosh. That's so funny.
Starting point is 00:04:56 It's pretty rough. But, yeah, every time I see that thing with Paula White, I think, dun-dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun. What? Bouncer. Okay. I was a bouncer. I was a Bouncer. Okay. I was a bouncer. I was a bouncer for the river one night.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Is that bouncer music? No, that was Sanford and Sons. I love this show, but it makes me think of, like, fat, fat, fat. Chunky monkey. Yeah. Oh, my gosh, man. Wow. Wow. Itunky monkey. Yeah. Oh my gosh, man. It was rough. It's rough. But I'm going there like 20 pounds less
Starting point is 00:05:34 this year. I know. Why don't people see you in the crowd? They're not going to ask you to be a bouncer this year. If somebody puts me behind a pole, they're not even going to see me. Right. That's not true. I got a lot of weights to lose. I was just telling them, Logan might have changed my life forever.
Starting point is 00:05:52 We're not going to talk about it just yet, but Logan might have changed. That's Logan in the back. She's got baby today because Heather's on her way up to conference. Yep. So she's her own child care provider provider but we'll take her any way we can get her so okay so ladies conference this starts tonight and it ends saturday morning because they're having if you didn't get in on the tea yeah you ain't going they sold out that sucker quick yeah so that's how that rolls. All right, what do we got?
Starting point is 00:06:25 Oh, yeah, let's do it. Yeah, okay. So Friday will be no podcast. So you'll have to come back on Wednesday to hear all about our rest of our weekend and the river. Okay, yeah, there's no podcast. Oh, look at my hair.
Starting point is 00:06:40 They can't see you, so keep going. Okay, there's no podcast. Is it better? Okay, there's no podcast. Is it better? Okay. There's no podcast. I'm getting affirmation from Vanessa telling me the hair is not sticking up anymore. Thumbs up. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:06:57 No podcast on Friday because pretty much all of us, me, Sarah, Talia, are you going? No. Okay, Talia's not going. Me, Tracy, and Sarah, I'll be up there. Going up there, I'm going up Friday night. And listen, if anybody knows, you got to leave at the butt crack of dawn to get there.
Starting point is 00:07:19 In the spring break this week. It's terrible. Yeah, it's rough. It's terrible. So we're going to be going to that and in order to get there, you can't do the podcast. Tom told me
Starting point is 00:07:31 recording. I know, going live. I'm not going to do the recording thing. I don't like it as much as I like live. It doesn't even feel right anymore. We've got the live chat going. It doesn't. It's not right Yeah. We've got like the live chat going and it just, yeah. It doesn't. We've got a new way of doing this.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Yeah. He said that's how it would roll. We would roll. He was right. He knew. He's pretty much right about a lot of things. That's why we keep him around. What?
Starting point is 00:07:56 That's why we keep him around. Yeah, that's true. He does help out a lot. Okay, so what's next? What do we got on the agenda? Do you want me to go through these real quick? Please. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Okay. So we're going to have you guys, if you are on Facebook, oh, hey, Jeff's on Facebook. Hey, Jeff. Jeff who? Tomas. Jeffrey. Jeff should know better. What?
Starting point is 00:08:17 Facebook? Yeah, I know. What are you doing? What is that over there? What is that? Oh, my goodness. Oh, these are cookies. Yeah, crumble cookies.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Okay. So, Jeff, hello. Wrong. Why are you on Facebook? Okay. Move over to Rumble for us. But before you go, like and share and comment. And make sure that you have liked the Hope Hotline Facebook page, too.
Starting point is 00:08:39 So, make sure you've done that. And then you'll get notifications there as well as YouTube. So, again, if you're on YouTube, oh, both of the husbands are on. Jer's on too. Hey, Jer. He's a great radio TV voice. Thank you. So kind. He does have a good radio voice. Yeah, I'm keeping after him. And so yeah, you're on YouTube. I know Jer's going to stay on YouTube. I got to get you over on Rumble. Then you can be in the live chat. You would love that. All your friends are over there. Okay. So, but if you're on YouTube. If he's driving, he can't go over there because he can't be chatting and driving. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I hope he's taking care of the puppy. That's what I hope. So Rumble. Yep. So YouTube, if you're on YouTube, like, subscribe, do all the things. If you're watching the replay, you can comment replay later on. Then over on Black Robe is our platform. And if you're watching the replay, you can comment replay later on. Then over on Black Robe is our platform. And if you're watching there for the replay, again, you can always write in there, right? If you're doing replay, you can always share that link right at the top. And then over to our favorite is Rumble. So once you're on Rumble, you can like right underneath the video. There's a little like button, a little thumbs up.
Starting point is 00:09:42 You can like. If you have any questions, you can put it in the comments. Again, the comments stay forever, and the live chat will disappear after this. There's a share button. There's a save button. So anything that you need to do on Rumble is there. And we've got Sarah. Sarah's not here in studio, but she is in the live chat today.
Starting point is 00:10:00 And Sarum is heading up to the river as well, and they're at the Waffle House right now. So we've got Sarum, Savannah, and Crystal watching from the Waffle House. I hate them because the Waffle House is the place to be. It is. It is the place to be. I don't care what anybody says. Cindy's there too. Cindy's at the Waffle House.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Man, they're all just. Are they meeting there? Are they eating there? So my sister-in-law got a house at the river and a bunch of the about Tuesday girls are going to go up there and stay with Kaylee and her friend. So they're all heading up to Tampa right now. My sister-in-law just, but are they eating?
Starting point is 00:10:34 I don't care about that. Oh, okay. Okay. For your sister. But I'm just like, are they, what's way more important?
Starting point is 00:10:41 Are they eating? They're eating at, of course. Yes. They're eating at the waffle house. They're waiting and wasting time so that they can go are the eating. They're eating at the Waffle House. They're waiting and wasting time so that they can go to the house. I love the Waffle House. I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:10:53 It's so good. It's perfect diner food. Logan is shaking her head yes she knows. It's perfect diner food. You're not going to get. I like skillets and all that. Waffle House is the jam okay yeah what no way if she was on death row that would be her last meal i'm just saying like tommy is a huge waffle house guy not me tom like waffle house i'm like yeah
Starting point is 00:11:20 obviously you've never been have you ever been i went I went in Nashville when you sent me to Nashville and I was like, oh, it wasn't good. Maybe it's just a bad experience, but it wasn't good. Oh, it's so good. Go to the one in Northport. Okay. That was good. Tommy and Aaron swear by it. I've never been there. I like Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Okay. Well, I mean, I like Cracker Barrel too, but there's a reason. I mean, I don't know. It's not diner food. Like a felon. So Waffle House is like felony food. Like it's diner food. It totally is. Hold on. Can I get
Starting point is 00:11:57 a nice like avocado toast? Right. No, of course not. You're not getting avocado toast. Go to First Watch. With some micro greens on top? No. Okay course not. You're not getting avocado toast. Go to First Watch, girl. First Watch, that is. With some micro greens on top. No, okay, listen. All you're getting is grease, grease, grease at the Waffle House.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Yes, and potatoes and starch. Yep. Oh, my gosh. Listen. Naz says she got food poisoning at Waffle House. Okay, well, Naz is a vegan, okay? Like, what is she going to eat at the Waffle House that ain't going to make her have food poisoning?
Starting point is 00:12:30 She doesn't have the enzymes to support Waffle House. Listen, she's such a purist. Anything that's not pure is going to make her go over the edge. It makes sense. Erin said she wasn't in the North Port one, though. There you go. The truth comes out. Naz, we might have to try it together.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Oh, it was in Atlanta, of course. Mine was Nashville, so maybe that's the problem. Atlanta has armed security at night at the Waffle Houses. Oh, armed security. You can't hear Logan, but she's saying in Atlanta, they have armed security at the Waffle Houses. There's reasons for that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Yep. security at the waha there's reasons for that yeah yep okay i'm just saying like after a night of clubbing which none of us are going to be doing it i do club by the way no yes i do i sam's club and costco club she was like no i don't even know what to do with that logan i just spit almost to the to the camera logan that's so good okay i'm after night at the club which none of the people in this area would even know. And Vanessa, I'm going to smack the crap out of. Okay. Or like after a night of toking or whatever,
Starting point is 00:13:51 you're going to want to go to the Waffle. You're going to want to go to the Waffle House. Correct? Oh, yeah. Or if you're, you know, for your lunch break, if you're a night shift person. Yeah, that's true. Like the Waffle House is the place to be.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Okay, I'll try it again. Now, if you've done any of those things in your past, then you know you can still enter into the Waffle House and feel right at home. Otherwise, you're going to be a fish out of water. Yeah. It's like going to to what's that place that tommy likes to go to which he hasn't which is so funny what's that place that him and jonathan
Starting point is 00:14:30 have gone to oh 420 munchies munchies 420 isn't it 420 munchies yeah in sarasota yeah that place is special that's where i went for my birthday wait a minute you were with me i know i know it was me and norma's birthday because it was revival week yeah so that's right that's where i went for my birthday wait a minute you were with me i know i know it was me and norma's birthday because it was revival week yeah so that's right that's right they got some great it was so good so that's my first time too so and if you're an ex druggie alcoholic clubber cop 420 munchies waffle house yeah we we are all allowed to go to those places and feel right at home and you will never run into aaron or tommy because they go at three or four in the morning which is what aaron said but tommy can go to munchies at any time who knows he but usually they do frequent both of those in the middle of the night yeah so you won't run into them don't know if you frequents them. They do frequent both of those in the middle of the night. Yes. You won't run into them.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Don't worry. Probably not. You never know. Hopefully not. It's great. Great times. Yeah. A lot of people watching.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yeah. Oh, yeah. We're all on. We're all going. Okay. So next. Send in your questions, especially after everything Hope just said. If you have any questions about a late night, Hope will have them.
Starting point is 00:15:47 As long as you're not sinning. As long as you're not sinning. Exactly. No sinning. So send in your questions. AskHope at HopeHotline.com. Don't send them in the live chat on Rumble in case we miss it. And then next, we have our little graphic that we made.
Starting point is 00:16:01 So just again, if you haven't followed us on Instagram, head over there. We're sharing stories and all kinds of stuff, updates during the week when we're not here with you guys. And I think that, oh, wait, and then I have this again. Do you want me to show this? Heck to the video. So just a reminder that August 22nd to the 24th, we are having our ladies conference. So it's going to be called Victorious this year. So block those dates off. If you're not local,
Starting point is 00:16:26 fly in. We have a hotel very close. Oh, super close. And it's like only two years old. Yeah, it is. And it's got a pool, so if you're far away, you'll have your own little pool. Well, it's hotter than tar in August. Yeah, so you can sit by the pool during breaks
Starting point is 00:16:42 and all that good stuff. If they're from up north, though, I don't know if they're going to be able to sit up by the pool. That's true. You can go. Is there a hot tub? Maybe you can go in the hot tub in the evening. You're going to die. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Okay. Just stay in the air conditioning. Just kidding. Don't even use the pool. You're not going to want to go out there. That's true. You're not. So just come. And it's very cold in our church.
Starting point is 00:17:01 So you will be very comfortable. Very comfortable. I do not allow it, though. I don't allow it to be that cold. Okay. We won't be freezing, but we'll be cool. Yeah, so just mark those dates, save those dates, and we're excited to see you. Make sure you come and say hello to us.
Starting point is 00:17:16 It's going to be good. Yeah. We've got some good, fun things planned. Yeah. And Pastor Adalas is coming back. Magalas is coming back. Got some fun things planned. Yeah. It's going to be a coming back. Magalas is coming back. Got some fun things planned. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:27 It's going to be a great time. It really will be. And in the meantime, there's Adonica or Pastor Adonica's this week. And then Mother's Day weekend is Pastor Adalas Revival Today's. Revival Today's, yeah. So that's going to be a good one in Pittsburgh. Those are really great conferences. Yeah, they are.
Starting point is 00:17:45 I don't really. Have you ever gone to a lot of ladies conferences before in the past? I've gone to a few. Okay, so I've watched them. They're kind of boring. So boring. It's just like. It's so boring.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Like for ours, like when you go to. Like even Adonica's I don't think is boring. No, not at all. But Adonica's is definitely not. No, definitely not. Yeah, no, they're different. Like Adonica's a great teacher. And so like you go and you like, there's a lot of teaching points for sure.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And so it's kind of like, like if you're a very studious person, which a lot of our girls are, they love note-taking and all this stuff. Plus she's so real. She is. Life application. Yeah. She's so transparent. Yeah. And then she brings the anointing and power
Starting point is 00:18:33 and you just never know. You never know what you're going to get with that woman. I know. So good. It's so good. Yep. And with us, it's definitely not boring.
Starting point is 00:18:44 No, not usually. No. It's definitely not boring no not usually no it's definitely not boring i'm boring huh i don't think i've ever been told i'm boring well i'm just saying our conference is not boring no that's what i mean i'm not gonna stick around for something boring joking yeah gotta like live it up a little yeah so good stuff yeah this year's totally different yeah as usual yep so i'm super excited got all my decorating ideas done nice oh okay okay that starts next week ahead of schedule no i don't really have it done in march oh never mind it's just i privately meet with the people. Yeah. This time.
Starting point is 00:19:27 I'm getting next week ready. Okay. Privately meet with. But it's. I love it. It's pretty great. I've already gone through it with Heather because. You have to.
Starting point is 00:19:38 That's a must. Yeah. I have to make sure my mind likes what my mind thinks it likes. Right. And since her mind thinks like mine. Yep. It's usually confirmation. Yeah. Yeah. her mind thinks like mine, it's usually confirmation. Yeah. Yeah. That's great.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Yeah, you do like that, Hope. Yes, you do. Because Heather says you do. That makes sense. And you overthink it. I know. I know. And Heather says yes.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Yes. Yes. Yeah. I agree. Yeah. Absolutely. But not always because sometimes Heather is still like, hmm, and I'm like dead set on it.
Starting point is 00:20:04 But normally she's my confirmation yeah yeah that's great it is great i love that um okay so are we gonna go yeah did you get your nails done why are you saying that what how did you pick your color i know why you're saying this i did get my nails done girls okay And then how did you pick your color? Because I was struggling. That's a good question. How did I pick my color? How did you do it? Did you have this like...
Starting point is 00:20:31 Did you rehearse that? We did not rehearse that. Man. But she knew I forgot. That's a shocker. Yeah. Did you get like a cool like palette? You know what?
Starting point is 00:20:44 You know what happened? This is what happened valley girls um you know what happened hmm somehow some little birdie told another little birdie i was getting my nails done so one of the birdies sent me my color palette, which was pretty dang awesome. I know. Because, hey, listen. I need to hook my sister up. Yeah, no gatekeeping.
Starting point is 00:21:14 So, Vanessa, where was I? Was I, like, working out or something like that? You might have been. You're going to get your nails done this morning, I think is what you said, right? Yeah. And I'm like, yeah, how did you know? Her best friend, Tracy, tells her, shucker. So I get this palette thingy, like here's your colors. Go ahead, Vanessa, lay it on them. So back in the day, I don't know if you remember this, Hope, but color analysis was huge, like in the 80s. And so people are grouped into seasons and so depending on your undertone the
Starting point is 00:21:49 color of your natural hair the the color that you were born with and your eye color it will put you into a season i'm a true spring and i have diagnosed everyone in this room what their season is and that should be interesting. Oh, let's start with Hope. Let's start with Hope. Okay, here we go. Hope is a light summer. A light summer.
Starting point is 00:22:14 A light summer. So those are all her colors. Yep. You'll see the hair, the eyes, the skin, and then the best colors are in that, you know, the two rows. And then it also says your worst colors. Yeah. Which, listen. If we see you in those colors, Hope. Listen, black is the two rows. And then it also says your worst colors. Yeah. Which, listen. If we see you in those colors, Hope.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Listen, black is the first one. I know. I'm in black all day long. Maddie McButterpants here has to look slim. So in order to make me look slim, it's going to be black. Yeah. No, is that brown? Is that dark brown?
Starting point is 00:22:40 That's dark brown. Okay, well, I don't care. It looks black. And you can still wear black, and you could probably still wear those colors. You can. But what happens is when you wear those colors, people will see your outfit first and then your face after. I'm okay with that.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Oh, my gosh. I'm really okay with that. So what color analysis does, it gives you this glow. When you wear your right colors, it's like you're glowing. And people see your face first and then, like, your outfits and accessory. Right? So if you pick, if you're wearing your right colors and then you couple that with the joy of the Lord, you're unstoppable. Unstoppable.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Oh, my. Way to go on making it super spiritual. Listen, that's what I'm here for. Who's next on the list? Logan. Our Logan is, I forgot. A light spring. Warm and fresh.
Starting point is 00:23:39 It's called warm and fresh. A light spring. She has all the dusty, muted colors. See, I like your colors. I know. I know. I like your colors better than mine. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:23:54 And then we've got. And then next will be you. So I am a true spring. And so my colors are a lot more bright. I'm actually wearing my color right now. On purpose? On purpose. To show how it really does make a powerful effect? Yes and then well we have this too so this is her cute outfit yesterday. Look how cute she is and those are her colors with her yellow purse which she said she would never wear yellow. Never.
Starting point is 00:24:26 I didn't think I could. That's so Vanessa. I know. Is that a story or did you just create that for us? I sent it to the girls last time. She wanted to show us her haul. Did you go and buy that stuff? I went to Target. I took my daughter. She wanted to walk around
Starting point is 00:24:43 Target. I was like, let's go. And their spring stuff is out. So you decided I'm going to pick out some stuff in my color scheme. That's interesting. Tracy, she is a soft, a soft summer. Yep. See, I like your colors better, Tracy, than mine. And listen, yesterday I wore like kind of like the deep, well, no, it's probably more like the baby pink color. And Sarum was like, your eyes are so bright today. I couldn't keep my eyes off of you. I wore green yesterday. See? And so they were like.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Can I have your colors? You probably can. You probably can. We're pretty close. Because you're both in the same summer. You're in the both. You both are in the same season. So you can.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Wait a minute. She's cool and delicate and I'm cool and delicate. Yeah. Right. So, but. Yeah. I'm. Because her undertone is a little warmer than yours.
Starting point is 00:25:32 She can do different colors because you're a cooler undertone. Right. So again, that's hopes. I prefer yours. Okay. Hopes. By a lot. Although if you look at.
Starting point is 00:25:44 They're pretty similar. Wait a minute. If you look at our four, yours is soft summer, mine is light summer, and they're still the same color. I think they're pulling a fast one on us, girls. No, so it's your, like your, go ahead. Depending on your undertone, you'll have like a more muted of, it's probably the same color, but Tracy's is more, your colors will be more muted than Tracy's. She'll be more brighter than yours.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Okay. Okay. I might allow that. I'm not an expert, guys. Wait. By no means, either. Are you sure? I mean, you're telling us all what we can wear and what we can't wear.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Exactly. I'm pretty sure that you should be an expert. Right? Yeah. Talia, Talia. Talia's our next one up, and she is a winter. Cool winter. A cool winter a cool winter yeah she can she can pull off those like emerald colors very well yeah yes greens and red cherry yeah and then we got sarah
Starting point is 00:26:35 who's not here today sarah's not here and she's our autumn girl she can wear all those warm tones very well because of the color of her undertone and her hair color. So, okay. Yeah. Oh my, that's a lovely picture of you. You guys can't see what I'm saying, but they don't get to start it off. So this is like one of the filters. And so every time you click a color, it'll show you what you look like. And then you can kind of see like what looks great on you. So like that green, for example, the limish color, I like for me, it just doesn't sit. Yeah, exactly. And so as you go through, then I have this yellowy color. I think the winter one looks nasty. But summer seems like, yeah, summer looks right. You know, well, let me just say this this is a TikTok thingy. So unless you guys want to be owned by China, go on there.
Starting point is 00:27:30 And then you can see, like, you just see those jewel colors look so great on her. Look at that girl. And then even the winter. I think I pull up every single one, though. You do. But winter, like the yellow winter, I think the filter. And then we've got Vanessa, too. So we just did these real quick.
Starting point is 00:27:45 So you guys can kind of see that. That was an extra person. So you can kind of see that's how. That's amazing. You can kind of get an idea. But that's how they used to do it back in the day. They would do the drapes. So they're bringing that back again to kind of, so you can see your face literally light up.
Starting point is 00:27:59 There's actual people you can go to. Yeah. You can pay to go. So Vanessa. I don't need to pay anybody. I got Vanessa. I know. It's true. could go to yeah you can pay to go so vanessa i don't need to pay anybody i got vanessa so where do if somebody's interested in this yeah because there are people that like always are like where do you get that they could slip in my dms i'll uh they will hook them up
Starting point is 00:28:17 or they gotta go to china they gotta go to china in order to get these things. She did her thing without the TikTok thing. That was afterwards. So she already told me what my colors were. And then I saw this. I'm like, ooh, I should send it so she can have her confirmation that she gave me my right colors. Because that's how I picked my nail colors was by my color palette. I don't know if I picked my nail color by my palette.
Starting point is 00:28:43 I think so. Because I actually liked it. Look at that. But I wear a lot of those colors. That's good. A lot of times you gravitate naturally to your color. Right. No.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Oh, good point. It's all color science. It's all color science. Good point, Logan. That, good point. It's all color science. It's all color science. Good point, Logan. Yeah, that was really good. Yeah. Nailed it. Nailed it.
Starting point is 00:29:12 That's from In Living Color. You're welcome. Nailed it. You remember that? Oh, Jer. In Living Color? Do you remember In Living Color? I do remember In Living Color.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Answer me girls That was Ignore who's on it No That was huge Back in the day I'm asking Jer Because I feel like
Starting point is 00:29:31 That was a 1980s movie In Living Color It's a show It's a sitcom Oh my word No I'm so young Like I just can't I don't even know
Starting point is 00:29:40 Listen they had replays And it was the Wayne Brothers Oh And Jim Carrey was on there j-lo was one of the fly dancers like that's where a lot of them got their start from in living color oh wait yes i'm gonna google this yeah okay yeah so that was a funny show okay i used to cry laughing that's back in my bad days though homie don't play that we don't play that homie the clown yep and then the what is three snaps and a
Starting point is 00:30:14 oh my gosh those two homosexuals were very funny they were funny they were funny i don't know if anybody remembers In Living Color, but put it on there. They were great. I mean, that show was so dang funny. I'm going to have to watch it now. The guy in the pink,
Starting point is 00:30:38 he was the one that created it. He's the oldest Wayne brother. He did Arsenio Hall. You know how senio hall's fingers are so long he would get him he would put these extensions on his fingers and be arsenio hall it was so dang funny it's bad like it was it was so funny but nothing mean it was not there was nothing ever mean and like now like even saturday nightlife unless they're like tearing somebody down and like even when they made fun of arsenio hall they were friends with him and it was like all not mean not that i want
Starting point is 00:31:23 everybody to be kind because i don't like that kind of, I don't like that big thing that's being, but I don't like when people are mean just because they can be. Like that's just, I just, I don't like it. Well, it's also biblical, but I'm just saying, I mean, you reap what you sow, but to be mean just because you can be is i don't like it so and they were funny and they were not mean to be mean they like literally are you what do you what do you did you find something tracy i'm looking i'm trying to find the long fingers but it's like google search something like that google image our google image weigh in or in living color arsenio hall i think you'll find the image that way. Now that I only have 30 minutes left.
Starting point is 00:32:06 I was determined to get to more than one question today. It's not this, right? I don't even know what I'm looking for. Show it to Vanessa. I have it up. Yes, that's it. That's it. What the heck?
Starting point is 00:32:23 It looks real. Arsenio Hall's butt was so big his shirt his jacket would always go up over his butt you remember that i don't remember that but it's true yeah they picked but they're like that doesn't that look like him that's so funny i know that actually is the length of Arsenio Hall's real finger I don't know but I'm just saying it's dang funny oh there it goes there it goes there it goes oh that's so dang funny pure laughter oh man yeah it's clean laughter super super good to have clean laughter yeah absolutely
Starting point is 00:33:09 okay love it oh man okay now that i'm sweating oh really i'm hot i'm sweating a little clicker oh yeah let me use that i i am sweating because i was laughing so hard i'll have to turn this off in a second because then you'll be cold uh-huh this thing blows like i i could i could be not that i am i i could be one of those models that have the wind blowing through the hair yeah that's true that thing it goes crazy blows that hard wind blowing like don't want that. Okay. Let's go. All right. All right. I see a little feet coming into the studio. You do. There's a little one. All right. Just want to see the baby. Okay. Thank you for your podcast and thank you for Foundation Church. Questions that I have had or even thoughts that have been weighing on my heart
Starting point is 00:34:06 have either been addressed on Sunday by Pastor Tom or brought up by you and the Peanut Gallery. Way to go, girls. All right. And then this person says, By the way, hashtag not a cult would be a great T-shirt. Agree. I think that's a really good idea.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Awesome. So write that down. Okay. But that's not for the Hope Hotline. No, no. We need to do foundation church on the front and then hashtag not a cult on the back. That's what it has to be. I thought about this because I was like, I like that.
Starting point is 00:34:41 I would wear that. I would wear that all day long. I made a shirt. We had a, what was it? A pink elephant. What was it? Oh, it was a white elephant. White elephant.
Starting point is 00:34:50 White elephant. And it was there for that. Oh, is that the one? Christmas. The black shirt. When I gave the borderline. Yes. That one.
Starting point is 00:34:58 That one. I go to a, I go to a stinking. No, don't do it. I'm not saying what it was saying i'm not saying what it was i'm not saying what it was okay good well maybe you should no i'm not just kidding just kidding just kidding i had permission from my husband so it was okay that's all that matters but i bring i go to this christmas party where it's everybody brings a supposedly not white elephant it's supposed to be a funny gag gift i'm the only. I'm the only one that brought the gag gift.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Which made it so much more epic. It really did. It really did. Yeah. I got a great gag gift, I thought. That was not. Well, somebody gave a girl a moo moo. That was me.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Okay. That was a great gag gift. But that's like, I felt like the biggest heathen on the face of the earth with my gag gift. I'm like, I'm so impure. So impure. I had to go and like cast a demon out of me. Baptize myself all over again. Take communion.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Salvation message. And then take a cold shower Afterwards Just for pentance Oh my gosh Because I was so bad Oh my gosh I had to tone it down at Christmas Because of you
Starting point is 00:36:15 I wasn't even invited back this year We now have rules Okay that's how bad mine was They didn't even invite me back this year We do have rules We now have rules Yeah I bet you do. Because after mine, it needed rules.
Starting point is 00:36:30 They didn't say there were rules. I thought I was going in, you know. I know. All by myself, people. Literally. Literally. Let's just so you know, every single time somebody picked up a gift i was like and it's like a mug closer to mine and i'm thinking every time somebody opens one i'm
Starting point is 00:36:51 like that's what that is that's what you like a candle that's not a gag gift i'm thinking as each one get a mind's like second to last guys yep and so as each one's open, I'm like, this is getting, this is getting more and more awkward. This is getting, I'm going to be in big trouble because now everybody knows who brought this gift. No one stole your, your gift. And the fun,
Starting point is 00:37:15 nobody stole my gift. And the funny thing was the funniest part of it all was I even said to Tom, if Stephanie Holland gets this out of everybody, this is going to be hilarious. She got it. You spoke it into existence. You literally did. I prophetically made it happen.
Starting point is 00:37:32 That was prophetically. You knew it was coming. I prophetically made it happen. Oh my gosh. That was dang funny. That was hysterical. Her face. And then when Elizabeth was like,
Starting point is 00:37:41 what'd you get, Bobby? Didn't you put candy? What'd you get, Mommy? Didn't you put candy? What'd you get, Mommy? You put candy in there, too. I've never been invited back. Nope. Never again. Never been invited back to another party.
Starting point is 00:38:02 There's reasons. We won't go into them, but there's reasons. Oh, my gosh. Don't invite me to a party if you can't handle it, people. Oh, my gosh. Just don't invite me. It's your best thing. Just don't invite me.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Oh, man. Okay. Wow. Really quick. Did you find your wallet praise you the lord okay my question i know thank you jesus my question is about homeschool i've never considered homeschooling until recently my husband is worried about what our kids will be exposed to at a public school what are your thoughts and are there any schools or private schools in sarasota county or north part area that you would recommend any to stay away from what worked for you what homeschooling program would you recommend to follow my two
Starting point is 00:38:54 main concerns missing out on the social aspect of school or whether or not i can give my kids the best education they can get honey don't worry about i won't tell you why more often about us we are new to florida we moved here in may 2020 2022 just in time for hurricane ian that was must have been fun can you imagine no i literally and then getting hurricane Ian. We've never, like, I knew people who moved here like the year prior from my previous job. They moved back after Hurricane Ian. They were like, we gone. Because that was very traumatic for a lot of people. That was very traumatic for us that have lived here.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Literally. Yeah. Forever. I don't know. I used to sell hurricane windows and shutters. And, you know, a lot of people always make a sale on fear. Yeah. I was opposite.
Starting point is 00:39:54 I was like, don't worry about it. We haven't had a hurricane that's anything since Charlie. In fact, don't worry about it. Buy them for just whatever, you know. Yeah, yeah. Because I'm not a person to, I don't worry about it. It's all, buy them for just whatever, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I'm not a person to, I don't like, I don't like making sales wrongly or to lie. Yeah. But then I thought to myself, I might have sold that short.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Yeah. I might have maybe upped, I should have upped my game a little bit. Yeah. As far as, because I was like, man, I think I made people lull them to sleep. And, oh, if she says it's okay, it's okay. I've been here forever. That's what I would say. I've been here for 20 some odd years.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Yeah. I've played it down maybe a little too much. I've thought about that. And I'm like, maybe I played that down a little too much. But we really haven't had anything crazy like that. No. Nothing. No.
Starting point is 00:40:44 And a lot of people do sell on fear. Yeah, of course they do. Especially in that field. Right, right. I don't think I did myself justly or the people justly with that. Okay, so you made it through Hurricane Ian. You're still here. Praise you, the Lord.
Starting point is 00:41:01 We have three boys, ages five, three, and one and a half, as well as three-month-old baby girl. Way to go on the Lord. We have three boys, ages five, three, and one and a half, as well as three-month-old baby girl. Way to go on the girl. This coming August, our oldest will be going into kindergarten. As a family, we have never belonged to a church. Isn't that interesting? Yeah. We have only known the lukewarm churches and often question their motives.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Wow. Yep. That's crazy. Wow. Wow is right. I am crazy. Mm-hmm. Wow is right. Yep. I am extremely grateful for Foundation Church.
Starting point is 00:41:33 It has ignited the flames for my husband and I to read the word and to begin our walk with Christ. Any info or help would be appreciated. Thank you so much. So what I literally wrote in my notes, that is the best. And I capitalize the word best. Yep. the best. And I capitalize the word best. I cannot tell you how many people run to the lukewarm church so that they can still live a worldly lifestyle and be called a Christian and feel like they're going to heaven versus somebody who runs to the cross, runs to holiness, runs to the word and really doesn't want to live the same lifestyle. Right. You're a rarity.
Starting point is 00:42:06 You're what I call a Logan. Yep. You're not the norm. Yep. Which is crazy to me. That is just, if more people could see, I have seen solid believers run to the lukewarm church. Yep.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Like that were on fire,'re making great progress moving forward, going in the opposite direction of the lifestyle they had been leading before and somehow run right back to it. Yep, same. Because they get tired of living a holy lifestyle or they want to hang around a certain group of people or they just want to relax in their Christianity. Super dangerous people. Super dangerous. But you are wise. You are smart.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Okay, let me see. Homeschooling. Now I have Logan doesn't homeschool. Tracy homeschools. I homeschooled. My kids are 25 and 23. And then Vanessa homeschooled. Okay, so Tracy did not homeschool. You did not homeschool your two oldest. They're about to graduate this year. But you homeschooled Tootie.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Yep. And what grade is Tootie in? She's in third. And when did you start homeschooling her? From the beginning. what grade is Tootie in? She's in third. And what time, when did you start homeschooling her? From the beginning. Okay. Can she read,
Starting point is 00:43:28 write? Yeah. Can she do math? No. Can she do math? She said no. I mean, she can do basics.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Okay. She's in third grade. But I'm saying, like, you've taught her. She knew nothing. No, she knew nothing.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Do you have a college degree in teaching? No. I have a no I have a point I don't have a college degree yeah yeah no I don't no I have a college degree I do not oh same here I have a lot of college credits like 120 of them I have none but I do not have a degree that might explain my kids just kidding hey my kids went to college they didn't finish it because they didn't like it but at least they went they got in whatever okay get all that too so you've taught your daughter who you have no college education were you the smartest kid in your school no what was your grade point average uh it was i was like a bc student okay i ran I got A's everyone like in gym and ceramics. Literally.
Starting point is 00:44:29 I just didn't care. Like I never studied. I just didn't. I just whatever I had to do to pass. I couldn't get a D. I wasn't allowed to get D's. C's were okay. My mom was like I'd prefer you get A's and B's but C's are fine. Yep. That's how mine was. My parents were like D's
Starting point is 00:44:44 not going to happen. They did happen every now and then, but you better bring those suckers up or they're not going to be pretty. Yeah, same. Well, I played sports too, so you weren't allowed to have, like you had to have certain grades too. Oh, yeah, because you had to have a certain grade point average or you weren't allowed to play.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Right, correct. Although you're a pretty good basketball player, so they would have been in big trouble if they. Yeah, but I loved it too much. Like I was just like, I'll just study for one test or I'll just like pass it. And I'll just, cause I, I, I knew like, like it wasn't hard for me. I just didn't want to put the effort in extra effort to make an A. Like I just didn't care. I totally get that. Yeah. Okay. 100% get that. Yeah. I hated school. Me too. Vanessa. Yes. Our ESL student over here.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Okay. English secondary language. And you have both English speaking kids. Yes. Do either one of them speak another, do either one of them speak Spanish? Um. That's a no.
Starting point is 00:45:43 As much as I do. If you have to go um, that's a no. much as i do you have to go um that's a no no they don't they probably know more hungarian than they do um spanish and who speaks hungarian in the house their um grandparents who do not live in the house but their spanish-speaking mother does that's my point to that okay yeah. Yeah. Did you go to college? I did. Did you graduate? I did.
Starting point is 00:46:07 What did you graduate in? Elementary education. You're not helping me. I know. I was on the Latino Honor Society too. Don't listen to, okay, we're moving Vanessa from the whole equation. But now they're in middle school and high school. I have middle.
Starting point is 00:46:25 And she doesn't have that degree, right? No. Right. I don't. Okay. But what grade did they start? First grade and second. No.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Yeah, first grade and second grade. Because I remember them sitting at the kitchen table. Yep. I know. I remember when you pulled them. I remember when Joseph's first grade teacher pulled me aside and said, if I were you and if I could make it happen, I would homeschool. Because she was about to retire soon and she was like, this is not good.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Oh, I've known plenty of public school teachers that have told parents, homeschool your kids because the system is not good. Yeah. have told parents, homeschool your kids because the system is not good. So my kids, Tommy pulled him second grade November just before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving break, and normal kindergarten same year, November, Thanksgiving break. I have only a high school education. And listen, I know people who are teachers that have a college degree but aren't even teaching. They don't have a teaching degree.
Starting point is 00:47:31 And they teach in the school system. I mean, hello, think about that. I also know teachers that are phenomenal, great teachers. It's like it's what they were made for. That's their God-given gift. And they are phenomenal at it. We have some great, we actually have some new teachers at our church. I'm thinking of one right now.
Starting point is 00:47:59 And she like does her room out. I know who you're talking about. Like she's passionate about teaching these kids that she teaches at elementary school level. But I also know a lot of teachers that are opposite of her. And they're just doing it because it's what pays them. It gives them the summer off. It gives them a lot of breaks.
Starting point is 00:48:20 It gives them winter break, spring break. They get teacher work days. Now, do some of these teachers work longer days because they have to grade papers? Yes, I'm not saying that. But when you add up the hours that some of them have to work, it's a pretty good gig. And so I would say, but also I would say that they have to deal with a lot of unruly kids. Oh, yeah. 100%.
Starting point is 00:48:48 That ain't fun either. No. So I'm a big, what I'm going to tell you is I love teachers, but I also know that there's good ones and there's bad ones, just like in any profession. Yep. And some of them are just doing it to get by. I've known teachers who
Starting point is 00:49:05 were not very nice to the kids. They were not nice. They were ready to retire or they just did it as a job to get a paycheck. Their heart wasn't in it. It was like, I got to do this. And while I got to do it, like, this is how it's going to be. They were not great. So just because you're not trained and you are not that's not your profession or whatever it doesn't mean that you can't be better than maybe some of the teachers your kids would have gotten maybe you won't be as great as some of they could if they could have gotten but at the end of the day they'll still be at home they'll be influenced by you instead of influenced by whoever that teacher is if all you got to do is look at a lot of what uh people there's a lot of progressive a lot of
Starting point is 00:49:53 liberal minded teachers out there who are and if you look at the curriculum that kids are being taught it is nothing that we want our kids to be taught. And I've said this before, but Tom wasn't gung-ho on doing homeschooling at all because our kids were in private school. But one of the reasons why he was okay with it is because somebody said to us when we were deciding what we were going to do, they said, do you want your kids to be influenced by eight hours by the kids that their peers that they'll be around and the teachers? Because they're going to, those people will have more time with your children than you will. So they will be more influenced by them than you. You'll either influence them for the eight hours
Starting point is 00:50:43 and they'll be like you and you'll train them or the world will train them for the eight hours and they'll be like you and you'll train them or the world will train them for the eight hours and the peers and I'm like oh and Tom was like that's a no-brainer I'm done and he was a school resource officer
Starting point is 00:50:54 so he knew things were good there are some good private schools my kids went to Finnish Christian I've known people who've had their kids go to Finnish Christian and they have liked it. I also have known some that didn't, I don't know of any other good private schools in the area.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Do you guys, I looked some up when I was doing like getting closer to first grade for 2d and I went, it was close to 2020. So I went back and like kind of watched like how they handled it. And the few that I found, they all shut down. They all messed up.
Starting point is 00:51:23 they all close for COVID. There's no, yeah. And even finish Christian who takes no government, they all shut down. They all messed up. Oh, they all closed for COVID. Yeah. Right. There's no, yeah. And even Finnish Christian who takes no government funding at all. Yeah. They didn't have to and they did. Okay. So, I mean, then it comes to that. Then what happens if something happens again?
Starting point is 00:51:36 Then we're going back into virtual again. Yeah. I just was like, no, thank you. Yeah, it's not good. Do you guys know any other? I don't. Okay. i don't do you guys know any other i don't okay i don't know either so if you live in the area i mean again i christian private doesn't matter and one of the things that i say in my list of things is listen my kids went to private school
Starting point is 00:51:59 and some of the kids that were in their class like the reason they were in there is because and some of the kids that went to the class, like the reason they were in there is because, and some of the kids that went to the school is because they got kicked out of public school. And or the parents were hoping that positive peer pressure would change their bad child. And so my son had a kid who just clung to him, who was the naughtiest of naughty in the whole class. I finally had to say, stay away from that boy because he kept getting it. My kid would get in trouble with him. I'm like, stay away from him.
Starting point is 00:52:31 I didn't put you in private school to be around a punk. And the reason his parents brought him there, true story, is because he was not doing well in public school. He was really misbehaving there. So they brought him to public, private school because there were stricter rules. He was still misbehaving there. So they brought him to a private school because there were stricter rules. He was still getting in trouble.
Starting point is 00:52:48 So as soon as my son stayed away from him, life went back to normal. But there's bad seeds even in private school. You're not going to like, it's not all goody-goody. You got a lot of people who have to use that because their kids have been kicked out of of public school so um so be very careful with that do you guys have um any curriculum i know you guys both use don't you guys use two different kinds right yeah can you tell her about what kinds you have because she has young children so both of you yeah you want to do yours i'm gonna pull up mine yeah that would be awesome do you want to talk about yours yeah so we tried the whole computer base it wasn't
Starting point is 00:53:30 my kids weren't thriving in it and so we actually do books and it's a part of master books it's called master books and it covers all all subjects science um history, math, reading, and it's all Christian-based. And, yeah, we've enjoyed it, and that's something that we've continued from second grade all the way through high school now. Okay. Master books.
Starting point is 00:53:59 There's also called classic. There's classical conversations as well. Classical conversations. You did that i did a short period of time i haven't known people who've done very very well that's a becca based correct isn't that i think it's their own curriculum okay then there's a becca and then there's the becca now my kids did like the uh computer but that does computer-based schooling that doesn't start until third grade for my the one that my kids use,
Starting point is 00:54:25 which was switched on Schoolhouse. And it has every single, from Bible to, like, geography, everything. And it's all done on the computer. My kids' handwriting isn't the greatest because they're great typists, though. Yeah. I know that typewriter. I have math on the computer now, and it's called teaching textbooks. But that starts at third grade, too. Yeah, because you have to have some dexterity you have to be able to spell like
Starting point is 00:54:50 so until third grade we use like bob jones we used abeca i used a lot of abeca because that's a great and it's a higher like it challenges you i think um christ schools use a backup as their curriculum. It's all biblical based, but it's a more challenging curriculum. Instead of Bob Jones is very, I wouldn't say it's easy, but if you have difficulty with learning, Bob Jones is very good so and then there was a great the guy that did Bill can't remember he was the Secretary of Education for Ronald Reagan he had some great curriculum out at one time too his was not Christian but it was just like it was basic history it was like history as we know it and you know it's a
Starting point is 00:55:46 great great set of history books that kids when they're in elementary school absolutely would love is rush limbaugh yeah put out some great educational books and then there's books also for chapter books. It teaches you about Christian, Harriet Tubman. It teaches you about George Mueller, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington. I can't remember what those things are. Something Frontier. Can't remember. Those are phenomenal books. If you're watching, you have older kids
Starting point is 00:56:27 and you want a really great educational, like Tommy would just sit and read all of that stuff, but they have good Christian ones and then they have good history ones and that actually teach real history. That's the key. Cause a lot of times we're seeing that history is going, geography is out, those kinds of things. What is the curriculum you used? Okay, so I am using
Starting point is 00:56:53 Beautiful Feet, excuse me, Beautiful Feet books. So it kind of looks like this, how they do it. Isn't that what Heather uses too? No, what's the other one what's it called soap opera yeah so the one and the beautiful the good and the beautiful oh the good and the beautiful thank you i knew beautiful i know i know thank you yes okay so this one how they do it they break it up from like k to third grade so right now we're doing American, oh my gosh, early American history, kindergarten to third grade. So these are all the books and you just read them however you want. It's your self-paced. So we've done like the discovery of Americas. We've done Columbus. We've done, where is our little friend? But the bottom book is, oh my gosh, early American
Starting point is 00:57:42 history. And so you go through this book at the bottom as a teacher's guide. And then each of the stories have like things that you can kind of like yourself pace through them. And then another one that I really like is the Tuttle Twins. And so they have audio books. So Allison likes to listen through the audio books. And then she will like. Is that Christian based?
Starting point is 00:58:05 It is Christian based. Um, so the guy, let me pull him up again. I just had his thing. So this guy, Connor is the founder and president of libertarist Institute, a free market think,
Starting point is 00:58:18 think, think tank in Utah. And so it's a lot of like political like information, but none of it is like lived out. It's all like talking about like how to be your own business owner and how the law works and just different things. But it's like a fun, interactive way for kids because it's like following these kids stories. And then last but not least, for math, we do Life of Fred. And so this is kind of it's like the most boring thing in the entire world to look at.
Starting point is 00:58:44 But it is self-paced for kids. Do you remember this? I can't, yeah, again, I can't really pull it up. So I'll just pull us up. So it's just like these books and you literally are going through and it's like reading and it's about this guy, Fred, or about the, it's kind of not really a guy, like a thing. And it's, it's just a weird it's just a weird story, but it keeps their interest. And it's very untraditional. So anything that's, like, not a normal public school thing, I've done. And there's only, like, three things they do each time. And it is not overwhelming.
Starting point is 00:59:18 And you just keep moving on to the next thing. And they have all the way up to, like, pre-calculus with these books. Oh, that's good. They also have a really great math person. What's the name of that? You can go on there and it literally teaches you how to do every single math equation. What's it called? Is it doctor?
Starting point is 00:59:39 They have so many. There's so many now. What were you going to say? Is it a YouTube thing? Is that what you're saying? No, no. It's a web. It's a many. What were you going to say? Is it a YouTube thing? Is that what you were saying? No. No. It's a web.
Starting point is 00:59:46 It's a website. Okay. But you can literally type in the name or the type of math formula it is, and it'll bring up how to do, it'll give you a problem, and how it breaks down the formula of how to solve that problem. So if you are afraid of doing algebra with your kids or if you have a problem doing fractions it goes all the way from elementary all the way to high school okay and my kids used it all the time and it really helps but my but I will tell you I also hired a tutor yeah exactly okay right same okay So here's the thing. If you don't know how to do something, don't have that keep you from actually doing it.
Starting point is 01:00:31 And you'll go, well, we don't have the money for a tutor. Well, then you're limiting. Again, I always say don't put God in a box with your finances. Okay. Because you don't know that someone's not going to come along. Like we had a friend who was excellent in math. Now, I paid her, but she would have done it for nothing. You don't know who you don't know that will be in your life when it comes to
Starting point is 01:00:55 the certain subject that you don't know how to do. It's just like Brinley. Just so happens, Heather's old high school teacher is a teacher. And one of the favorite things that she loves to do is come on a certain day of the week, and she and Brinley read together, which Brinley hates reading. And this made it really great for Heather. So she literally reads with Brinley, and then they do all these different projects together. They do all craft, they'll sew, they'll, I mean, everything. There's nothing that this wonderful woman who attends this church does not do with Brenly. And then there's co-ops.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Co-ops are huge. Okay. You're worried about socialization for your kids. Well, first of all, when they get into high school, they can still play every sport because you pay taxes. So your kids are allowed to play every sport that that school offers, intramurals even. You pay taxes. Whether your kids go there or not, you're paying them. So you get the opportunity to use them, and kids do. I've known plenty of high school
Starting point is 01:02:05 homeschool kids that play high school sports um and they just go there when school's over and after their school's done they get um they get access to the gym like weight lifting rooms uh they play they play football they play. They play baseball. That's all junior high. You can do that. So your kids can still play sports. My kids did gymnastics, wrestling. I took them to art classes. We didn't really do co-ops because back in my day, there was no really good ones. Now?
Starting point is 01:02:39 Yeah, so many. So many great ones. So many great ones. So many good ones. And there's a lot of women in our church that actually have their kids in a co-op. So you could reach out to Vanessa. You could reach out to Heather. You could reach out to Tracy. Maybe one of your friends actually homeschools. You could reach out to them because I'm sure they're connected in some way to a co-op.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Then your kids socialize. But they're not socializing with the riffraff that the public school system, not all kids in public school are riffraff. But listen, there's a lot of kids in public school that are not disciplined. They're on a lot of medications because they're not disciplined. And then they're also on medications because teachers don't want little boys to be little boys anymore. Okay, boys have ants in their pants. And I was a little girl with ants in her pants.
Starting point is 01:03:34 You don't have ADHD because you are like kids. Little boys have a tough time just sitting still for a long period of time. Doesn't mean they should be on medication. Amen. Just let them be a little boy amen i mean my goodness and if you home school your little boys will be able to be done with school in more than half the time that it takes okay then they can go outside they can play you can do like my my kids they used to like tommy used to go outside um collect bugs he was the biggest bug collector or snakes or whatever collect and bring them in and then we would look at them another little science project do you know what I'm saying like there's so many different things your kid will be able to be a kid yes amen instead of being stuck in a desk
Starting point is 01:04:21 chair okay super important um My kids took photography classes. What's some extracurricular things that your kids have gotten to do? Oh my gosh. Because. A part of our co-op, we did cooking, sewing,
Starting point is 01:04:34 life skills, mechanics, carpentry. Even just going on like field trips, like going to different like landscape places. Yeah, we did field trips. going to different uh like landscape places like they were learning about like the certain plants that you need you only need like x amount of plants to be able to get like all this nutrition like it like literally the sky is the limit whatever you
Starting point is 01:04:55 want to learn and it's not a lot of money like sometimes it's completely free yeah like the we have what's the uh museum over there in Sarasota? Oh, Ringling. On Mondays they do homeschool. You can go into certain areas for free. So yeah. There's so many things. There's so many things. Just live life.
Starting point is 01:05:12 Just live life. Like when Emma was little and she loved baking, we would go live on Facebook. We called it Emma Bakes. Yep. I remember. And she would just bake. Yeah. And do all the measuring.
Starting point is 01:05:24 Yeah. The measurements. And we literally would just bake. Yeah. And taught her how to do all the measurements. Yeah. The measurements. And we literally just lived life. Yeah. You can take, I know that we're going into a cashless society, but when you go to the grocery store, you let your kids pay with cash, with the cashier or even in the self checkout. You make them pay cash.
Starting point is 01:05:43 That's a great way for them to learn how to do money. Right. Like there's so many different things. They're not going to do that in public school. There's so many different ways that you can teach your kids that make it fun versus arduous. And if you're around a whole bunch of other parents that homeschool their kids, then you're going to just rub off on each other. Like some, you'll get an idea over here, then they'll get an idea. I mean, it's, it's crazy, but it's really not that hard. And I promise you, you think that you don't know anything. Well, you're learning while they're learning and you're going to learn way easier because you have, you're, you, you're fully developed. Your mind is fully developed. So as you're as you're reading
Starting point is 01:06:25 something like I would prep on Sundays for the whole week. So I had my whole plan. Right. Once they got into once they started doing the computer, it was already set up because I set it up at the beginning of the year. Sometimes I have to go and make some adjustments, but it was minor. So you just read what you're going to teach the night before. That's what I did. If it was something I wasn't sure about, you read the night before what you're going to teach the night before. That's what I did. If it was something I wasn't sure about, you read the night before what you're going to teach. And then you gone over it so that when you have to do it, you're like, okay, this is how you do it.
Starting point is 01:06:54 This is what we're doing. You know, it's super simple. It's not complicated. You're going to sit there and go, oh my gosh, like I didn't know this back in the day. This is so easy. Well, it's easy because you're an adult now. So as you, as you, as they learn, you'll learn. I didn't know this back in the day. This is so easy. It's easy because you're an adult now.
Starting point is 01:07:08 As they learn, you'll learn. It's not hard. I can promise you that. My curriculum also gives the parent a script. If you don't even know how to present the information, it literally tells you word for word what to say. It's very useful. I know you pay taxes to have your kids put in school so all your money that you should be able to spend for your curriculum is going to them so if you don't mind
Starting point is 01:07:32 like mine back in the day now my kids are way older back in the day it was about a thousand dollars by the time i was done for each kid so it's about two thousand dollars for me because you every you could teach just the basics but anything you added on to that then it would cost a little bit more right i would say by the time it was all done from the beginning to the end all the extracurricular things that i did it was about a thousand dollars a year for each kid that's if they did sports their curriculum all their curriculum anything else extra we did do you think that that's about what it would cost you guys by the time it's between your co-ops and everything else? Or do you think it's a little bit more than that?
Starting point is 01:08:09 It's about that. Mine's way cheaper. Way cheaper. Okay, so what do you think if just your curriculum alone, my curriculum alone I think was like $500. Yeah. I probably paid $400, but the way it's set up is it's kindergarten through third grade for geography.
Starting point is 01:08:28 And the Tuttle Twins is like something that you pretty much are. It's a one and done once you finish it, but we'll pull it back out. And then the Life of Fred books are 20 bucks a piece. So I bought, I got two of those because she started second grade, third grade. Yeah. So you're like $400. From the very beginning. from the very beginning, from the very beginning. And some of that flows into the following years. And I like buying books
Starting point is 01:08:49 and stuff too. So I don't know like how much I've spent on like actual books and Bibles and like just stuff that makes sense for what we're doing. So, I mean, maybe I've spent a thousand dollars since, and Allison is going to be 10 this year. So since we started around like five, six years old, it doesn't have to be in, people are doing since we started around like five, six years old, it doesn't have to be in, people are doing secondhand stuff. Like once I'm done, I pass on those. You buy secondhand all the time. That's what I did.
Starting point is 01:09:12 Some of my courses for my kids, if I could find it, I bought it secondhand. Absolutely. It was not way cheaper, but it was better than paying full price. I do have a tutor that I utilize for Emma. She had a harder time grasping reading. And so we reached out to the literacy center there in Englewood.
Starting point is 01:09:34 And I have a tutor that comes twice a week. Yep. I paid for twice a week. Now, when my kids hit high school, it was way more than $1,000. I was going to say, we're still in third grade. Yeah, exactly. And Allison does piano. So I guess I pay for that too.
Starting point is 01:09:46 But like, I might pay for that if she went to public school. So I don't know if it would. Yeah, but Norma did dance between all of her like extra stuff. By the time it was all said and done, I probably paid a thousand dollars. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Like a year. A thousand dollars a year though, I think is nothing. Yeah. And that's not all up front. So you can absolutely afford it. You don't have to be the brightest light bulb in the box by no means, especially at this age.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Don't be intimidated. You can do it. It should just be fun. Oh, my gosh. And I will just tell you, I called them gospel moments. You would be shocked at how often you're able to just speak life and speak the word and just love on your kids when the world tears them down. They'll be in a safe, they'll be in a safe space.
Starting point is 01:10:34 They'll be in your home when the world's tearing everybody else's kids apart and down, your kids will be in your home being loved, cherished and encouraged. And that's a huge thing. Your biggest advocate. I remember COVID happening, and we had been homeschooling. So it was like nothing happened. So our life literally did not change. Yet people around us were like freaking out. Oh, yeah. And my kids were untouched.
Starting point is 01:10:56 Yeah, same. It's like you were Amish for a minute a night for a short period of time. It's true. You're like the Amish community. They're like, what's going on? I know. Right. My kids' life did not change. yeah that's awesome and that's the thing i i will say i was
Starting point is 01:11:12 just telling somebody they were saying somebody was saying something about norma about how i mean she's not perfect by no means so please don't think that i'm saying she is because she's not but one of the things about norma is that um she's very true to herself she's very honest and transparent but she loves life yeah she does love life unless you see her on a drama day i could that might not be but on the whole and that's what one of these people were saying that they've they went to public school and they're like she's not uh she's not a lot of people go well you know you can always tell a homeschool kid because they're awkward and they're weird that's just not true there's awkward and weird and flippant public school are you kidding
Starting point is 01:11:57 me no it's it's not the 1980s 90s anymore where we were outside playing all the time everybody's inside on their phones all of my All of my older girls' friends are so nervous to come and say hello to me. It's a different world. They're awkward. And they know it, too. It's so weird. These girls are talking to everybody.
Starting point is 01:12:16 It's just different. For me, the Spelling Bee winners are always homeschooled. I know. Sorry. That's not a great example. Sorry, but I think several of the spelling bee people have also been public school students and they look the same.
Starting point is 01:12:35 They acted the same. I mean, statistically speaking, you're going to get as many weirdo wackos, statistically speaking, in the public school system and that you would be, if you separated all the homeschool kids, it's going to be the same. People are always worried, like, my kid won't be able to socialize or be able to function. It's just a lie.
Starting point is 01:12:56 It's just a lie. But that's one of the things that this person was saying. They were like, what I like about her is she has not been tainted by the world. Amen. And school and Talia has gone to, has been in and out of school, right? Yeah. Like when I say in and out of school, she's been homeschooled and she's been in public school.
Starting point is 01:13:19 So she knows both lives. Okay. Which one is healthier? Definitely homeschool. Yeah. lives okay which one is healthier definitely homeschool yeah because what you deal with in the public school system it's not good yeah no what you're exposed to like kids same sex is making out in the same this isn't junior high making out in the in the hallway teachers walking by them this is true fact teachers walking by them and saying nothing but a guy and a girl be kissing and they'll tell them to stop right vaping is starting in middle
Starting point is 01:13:50 school yep i would never ever have my kid go to a school never okay put that mic near her because nobody can hear what she's saying. Tell them again. You know how you just want to be like your friend. So like Vanessa has anxiety. So I want to have anxiety. Yeah. And that's the cool thing to do now, especially with high schoolers. You want to be depressed. You want to feel like just lowly.
Starting point is 01:14:19 And that's why bisexuality is becoming so popular because when you're a bisexual, it doesn't mean that you're homophobic, right? That you're open to anything. But when the reality is you're not interested in the opposite sex. You're really interested in the opposite sex. But if you say otherwise, then you're not inclusive to a certain extent. Or you don't feel like you're a part of the group that you're with. Yeah, you're easily influenced. Easily influenced.
Starting point is 01:14:52 And whenever you're on medication, you want your other friends to be on this medication. Or this girl's on it and she's cool, so I want to be on it. It's not good. Some people can't homeschool, and I get I do get it and if your kids in school and you're watching this or later on you watch this hashtag replay don't feel like oh my gosh what are my kids being thrown to right they are thrown to the wolves that's the truth but even Daniel was put in the lion's den and it didn't touch him.
Starting point is 01:15:26 So your kids can be put in the public school system because you have no choice in the matter, but they can be untouched. And if you can't do anything about it and this is the life that they have to have, then you pray for a hedge of protection around them that they see no evil, they hear no evil. They get involved in no evil. And hear no evil, they get involved in no evil. And that'll happen. It truly will happen. I didn't know the girls were watching CNN every single morning, sixth, seventh and eighth grade during like right before COVID hit. So they were like Trump haters, obviously the whole entire time. And I'm like, how did they come out of that? I
Starting point is 01:16:03 didn't even know they were watching it. They hated Trump. Eighth grade. No, they didn't. But CNN, every morning they watched CNN. Anderson Cooper, they did their little thing. There's no way there wasn't some kind of propaganda in there. Anderson Cooper? Every morning. He's gay? I know.
Starting point is 01:16:17 And he hates Trump. I know. You don't think that CNN is always propagandizing. I know. So eighth grade, they start telling me like, oh, yeah, we watch this thing every morning. I'm like, wait, what is it? And they tell me, CNN. And I'm like, wait, what?
Starting point is 01:16:29 I'm like, tell them you don't want to watch it anymore. But they were like literally leaving that school. But I was like, but untouched. Like they never. Isn't that interesting that that's what the teacher puts on? Or the school system through the media department. It is. It's that.
Starting point is 01:16:41 It is exactly that. It's indoctrination, people. If you don't think it's happening to your kids, they're being indoctrination people if you don't think it's happening to your kids they're being indoctrinated and when i start from the beginning and research why school was created yeah that's very interesting it's very interesting why school was created and it was in the church and then the church gave it to the government which is the biggest thing just like prisons people don't understand. Prison ministry started in the church. They had a
Starting point is 01:17:07 what is it? Residuation? Is that the right word? When you go back to the same crime or back to the lifestyle of crime, what is that word called? Whatever it is, when the church was involved, there was nobody. The percentages
Starting point is 01:17:24 was very, very minute of people who went back to the lifestyle of crime. What is it? Did you find it? R-E-C-I-D-I-V-I-S-M. Well, that don't help me. Residid. Yeah. What did you say? Residid. Residiation.
Starting point is 01:17:41 Residid. I'm pulling it up. I don't know. Pop it up there. Maybe I'll be able to see it. But here's the up. I don't know. Pop it up there. Maybe I'll be able to see it. But here's the thing. When the church did it, it made a difference. Nobody went back to that lifestyle. They did.
Starting point is 01:17:55 It was very, very small. The church gave it to the government. Biggest mistake. Why they did that, I don't know. And now every criminal is a repeat offender. They don't know and now every criminal is a repeat offender they don't they don't ever it's like recidivism recidivism a bit recidivism but it's not the right but i wanted but it's not but it's still good because it's close to what i was saying okay i appreciate that it's just ridiculous yeah it's not good. But yes, you should look up how school started.
Starting point is 01:18:28 It ain't the way people think it was. Yeah. And even Sarah said in the chat that they're having a hard time finding teachers. So Kylie said that they have a turnover rate. You don't have the same teacher throughout the year. So that's another thing. You're going to be consistent. You're going to be your kid's biggest advocate.
Starting point is 01:18:44 Biggest fan. Yeah, biggest fan. And you're going to be consistent. You're going to be your kid's biggest advocate. And then you pull in. Yeah. Biggest fan. And you're going to pull in people that also love your kids or at least like you're watching them and making sure they love your kids when you need help. Like just like an entrepreneur. Like we don't, I don't do every single thing in the company. Like we hire people. So it's, there's nothing different.
Starting point is 01:18:58 There's nothing wrong with that. And I, and you're going to love it. You really will. Once you find your groove. It's not easy. And there will be days you, that you don't love it. That really will. Once you find your groove. It's not easy. And there will be days that you don't love it. That's the truth. Oh, yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:19:10 But isn't that like anything in life? Yes. I mean, come on. For me, I make fun of homeschooling. And I always say my kids are lucky to be alive and things like that because they should be dead. But they were actually very good kids. There were just days that were tough. Everybody has tough days though, no matter who they are. If you go to bed late,
Starting point is 01:19:30 you wake up and you have to get up and you don't want to go to work because you're exhausted. Well, so do kids, right? I mean, there are just certain things like there are things that when you go to your job that you procrastinate and procrastinate and procrastinate on because it's the last thing that you want to do. Well, your kids do too when they go to when they're doing school there are certain subjects that they will push off and push off until like you want to blow your stack and like you're getting it done now but isn't that life i mean we all do it it's it happens in school i used to say this to my kids all the time, whether you're here or whether you're there, you're going to have to do it. And the teacher is not going to let you procrastinate
Starting point is 01:20:11 and I can't let you procrastinate. But in some cases, once my kids started doing some public school online classes, I saw how much the teachers really could give a rip about how well they did, about the care in which they reviewed the work that was being done. And it was very disappointing that they didn't care about their education as much as I did. And I'm not the one with the college degree. And I'm not the one that said I wanted to be a teacher. It's true. So no one's going to care about them like you do. No one's going to love them like you do. And no one's going to care about them like you do. No one's going to love them on them like you do.
Starting point is 01:20:47 And no one's going to invest in them like you do. It's just the facts. Because nobody, you planned to have them. Nobody else did. And so people who get paid to do a job, sometimes they pay, you know, whether they get paid well or not, will either do a crappy job or they'll do a good job.
Starting point is 01:21:05 And I really don't want to leave it up to somebody that I don't know to figure that out. I just don't. But that's that. One time, only a question. Sorry about that. I was loaded. We're going to close out because it's 20 minutes over
Starting point is 01:21:25 get saved with us on Sunday and just say a prayer ask the Lord to be the Lord of your life and to take it over and you're as good as gold but come and try and be there for the conference if you live in the area
Starting point is 01:21:42 come at least one they have morning sessions and night sessions come and do one one I'm only able to go one to one and one not that it's as good as all of them it's not but one is better than none true and so you won't be the same as you came I can promise you that you will leave definitely changed. And find us. Find us. Sit with us and make friends. Thank you for joining in. See you on, not Friday, on Wednesday of next week. Love you guys. Have a great weekend. Bye. Real talk Real talk you you
