Real talk.
Real talk.
We are rocking and rolling here at the podcast on this happy, happy Friday.
I'm super excited about the weekend.
I'm not doing anything, but I'm super excited.
I don't know.
I mean, I think Tom's got something tomorrow night that we have to do.
But other than that, like, me and Daniel are in town.
So that's super sweet and super awesome.
Which they'll be here at church on Sunday.
I know.
I'm excited about that.
They're always fun.
Yeah.
They are.
Gotta love them.
If you guys don't know who I'm talking about,
it's our evangelist that we love and support
in South Africa.
And they'll be here.
He's not preaching.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
But he will be here.
Okay.
So he'll be in the building.
He'll be in the building.
Yeah.
Perfect.
Which lots of people know and love him.
Yeah.
So before we get going into the questions, how do you want to start?
Well. I don't care how we start, just so you know.
So we have a nickname here, and it is the Peanut Gallery.
Yes.
And you said a very long time ago, listen, we need to do something with this.
Yeah, because everybody keeps calling you guys the Peanut Gallery.
And Sarah has informed me what the Peanut Gallery actually means,
because I thought
it was from Charlie Brown but apparently yeah it's not do you have it do you want to read it I do
so years ago it during theater and the circus and any kind of shows there would be an area
of very cheap seats and people would sit in those, and if they didn't like what was going on,
or even if they did,
they would be throwing peanuts at the performers.
And what does it mean in slang?
Today, the phrase peanut gallery describes
people with unimportant opinions
or people who are loud and should not be listened to
because they have nothing substantial to say.
That's pretty fitting. Wow. That's pretty fitting.
Wow.
That's pretty fitting.
Wow.
I did not think that that's what that meant.
I was going to say, that's not the direction we went.
No.
No.
Because I actually love their advice.
Yeah.
And I do ask them for it.
So apparently, I am the opposite of the peanut gallery.
So what would that be?
I don't know.
I don't know either.
The dog pound.
It's too late, girl.
We're sticking with the peanut.
I don't know what it is.
But yeah, we could do the dog.
I mean, you guys can be the dog pound,
but you're staying the peanut gallery.
Yeah, yeah.
I like it.
Even though the definition is not what you guys are.
We've made it our own. And you know what? we you know what you know what that is because we're organic
exactly we're always developing and changing and growing things and we are uniquely and unique
we're birthing things up yes within us constantly exactly we're not fast followers. Yes. We're leaders. Exactly.
Creators.
I just feel like we just went arc for about two seconds.
We did. A little corporate, a little arcy.
Oh my gosh, my hair.
Oh, sorry. Coming back up.
Wrong way.
Wrong way.
Every time.
Dad, come. Sorry, people. I don't know. I didn't look at myself before I came on.
You'll have a second.
Looks good.
Looks good.
Okay, so I was like, who can do this?
All I need is somebody to draw us as the Peanuts, like the actual Peanuts, like Snoopy Peanuts.
And I was praying about it.
Which is like such a creative idea thought process that you had there.
Yeah.
I would have never thought about that.
But that's part of like videography and storytelling and filmmaking.
Like it just, it's in my head.
It's like there already.
Like I already knew what I'm about to show you guys.
The artsy fartsy.
It was like in my, when you said it, this is what I saw.
So.
Okay.
Introducing the peanut gallery.
And this is the official. And so just hold on. We're going to, you're going to know who each one is, but just And this is the official.
And so just hold on.
We're going to, you're going to know who each one is, but just enjoy this for a second.
So this is the official, official peanut gallery.
So just enjoy, look at them for a second, and then we're going to go on and we are going
to name each one.
And we have a little bit something special, too.
So, I mean, Hope always is a part of the peanut gallery, even though she's not really a part of the peanut gallery.
So we have Hope as the host and our little buddies.
And so that is what we've got going on for these guys.
Okay, so my favorite part.
I'm going to remove the logo for a second.
Okay. So meanwhile, while I had the idea in my head of the peanut gallery, this is literally what I saw they had special little sayings for each person.
And so I was like, that's what we need to do.
This is exactly what I'm seeing in my head.
So Sarah, do you want to read each one?
How?
With your eyes and then you speak.
Are they too tiny?
They are very tiny.
That's still pretty tiny, guys.
I got readers.
Can I get my readers for you?
Lord, bless my eyes.
In the name of Jesus, I command her eyes to be 20-20.
Yeah, use towels.
Come on over.
Or you can sit here.
Okay.
Hope is a mighty, courageous woman of God who answers your questions. Why are you laughing at that?
Why are you laughing? I? Why are you laughing?
I need my microphone.
She's out of her zone.
Hope is a mighty, courageous woman of God
who answers your questions about life from a biblical perspective,
teaching and preaching the Bible in a real talk kind of way.
She's chatty, hardworking.
Oh, she's a chatty, hard-working chocoholic and and a saint
okay so here's the thing you did not write these no so yeah okay go ahead let me come on so i was
gonna wait till you read them all but yeah so then after that i was like who i can't write this stuff
like even if i wanted to you have to tell why because when people start listening they're
gonna think you wrote them okay that's why I'm like yeah people need to understand yeah absolutely okay so yeah I was like we have to have these
little like who's gonna write this so again praying about who could write this and then I
heard that Cindy um our amazing watcher who actually won the Hope Hotline um gift at Christmas
time the favorite things um I was like, you're gonna do a little something
fun, do a little fun project. And so she's like, yeah. And so I asked her, just take a stab at it.
And we'll see. And then she's like, Yeah, just let me know if you want anything changed. And I read
them all. And I was like, girl, like even some of the stuff that she said about each person is from
like, the woman's conference, like she is just has a great memory she like shocking it is
shocking it's shocking so yeah cindy is gets all the credit for these little blurbs and mariana is
the one that drew these and they are so talented and amazing so hope did not write these i did not
write these these came right from cindy i wouldn't have remembered half of what she had i'll be honest
with you.
I was reading on it. Oh my gosh, that's right. And the way that it said mine would have been like 17 pages long for each person. And it would have been the same thing over and over again. It would
not have been as beautiful as Cindy wrote it. So yeah, not as descript. That's for sure. Yeah,
exactly. Great adjectives. Yes. Good job. She's a great homeschool mom. Okay, moving right along.
Okay, now we're waiting for me. So
we've got hope obviously first. And then I also had to make each person like the right proportion.
So I had to make me much taller than hope. And so, um, and even just the like, and then Vanessa,
she's just the cutest. Okay. So we're going to read ours or read mine now. Tracy is Hope's people. Her media savvy sidekick who always has an encouraging word and a
Bible verse. She's a visual storyteller who keeps the show flowing, growing, and of course,
super professional. I mean, you can't get any better than that. We're so unprofessional and
you're the one behind that. Like, holy crap. How does she remember that you're not professional? I don't know. I know. I know. I know. Cause she sees it. She watches us
all the time. Okay. Now we have Vanessa. Vanessa is a soft spoken ESL fashionista
who is full of Holy Spirit led biblical advice. She's a worship diva on the foundation stage and infomercial famous. Like even that's
so good. Like you have to be an insider to know this stuff. That's what I love about it. If
somebody like didn't know us, this would be like the perfect little synopsis to be like, oh. Yeah.
Like what does that mean? And you'd be intrigued. Yeah. I like that. Okay. Next. Sarah brings quick-witted,
fiery biblical life application
and extra comic relief
to the show.
She's a fun and feisty
social media influencer
for Jesus.
The fact that I'm now
an influencer.
I love that.
That's amazing.
And for Jesus.
Okay, Sarah,
let's remember
she called Tracy professional.
Okay.
So are you really an influencer? Is this She called Tracy professional. Okay. So are you really?
Is this prophetic?
It is.
Okay.
Well, there you go.
I mean, she's a believer.
So.
Well, I am a believer too.
And that is a song.
But let's just face it.
You are prophetic.
So thank you for proving my point.
Next.
Talia brings a youthful perspective.
It went away.
Oh, I know.
And then so we got talia next and then of course we had to have heather norma on there because they're our buddies and then logan had to be
next to the little kids because she's got her special leech and then the girls are obsessed
with her so it even like the order had to be the right way okay talia brings a youthful perspective
to the whole pot line. She's a photographer,
speedy verse posting keyboard warrior,
and fast food junkie.
Heather is Pastor Tom's people.
Which is so funny.
She keeps the church running smooth
and takes the show controls
when Tracy is MIA.
Amen.
She's an unshakable,
Holy Spirit-filled superwoman
that will get it all done,
even without a clone.
Like, come on cindy
killing it spot on norma is hope's daughter who cameos on the show occasionally bringing the best
of both of her parents quirky personalities and her beautiful voice she's a super cute
spunky spitfire with tiny hands also cindy if you're watching, I really appreciate the alliteration
in a lot of these fun and feisty,
super cute, spunky spitfire.
I know.
It's poetic.
It is.
It's beautiful.
She's a modern day psalmist.
I love that.
Not biblically.
Just the whole potline
logan and cj low smiley sweet and spicy with passionate words of wisdom and legal advice
our cop she's a no-nonsense media moderator and the mother of the most beautiful baby
truth that i mean the hair is perfect. I know.
CJ's hair is perfect.
I mean, it looks just like her.
It really does.
And then, of course,
we got Charlotte and Brenly
and then Tootie.
And Tootie had just changed up her look.
So she got in when she needed to.
She just got glasses and bangs.
And so Mariana even gave us
like the modern,
like the today Tootie.
So I'm sure she would have
wanted me to write Allison, but I can't.
No. I know. She's just like, Mom,
my name's Allison. And I'm like, I know, but
you're also Tootie. Okay.
Nobody calls her Allison. I know. I know.
If somebody was to say,
Hey, Allison, I'd be looking around.
Who's that? Who are you calling?
Even Pastor Tom said Tootie from the stage.
Yeah, he doesn't. I don't even
think he knows her real name. I'm going Yeah, he doesn't. I don't even think he knows her real name.
I'm going to tell you right now.
I don't think he knows her real name.
I know.
He probably doesn't.
He doesn't.
Oh, I believe it.
I don't even second guess that.
Yeah.
Yeah, no.
It's Tootie.
Tootie will be Tootie on her wedding day.
If Tom marries her, he'll say, Tootie, do you take this man to be your wedded husband tootie you may kiss the
you may kiss the groom yeah i love it oh my gosh that would be special
see prophetic yeah amen great job so we're gonna do something with these things yeah so what do
you guys think like we were thinking like a t-shirt would be really fun but obviously the way that i presented it is like more of a present like present presenting
presentation presentation thank you guys super professional um and so that's one way we like
wanted to show you guys but we want to do something with it so in the chat let us know
if any ideas are popping up in your head and if they're terrible we're not
taking them so yeah please what about a tote bag oh tote bag i love tote bags most people do
most people like that would look and you can fit everything on it that's true i mean i don't do
tote bags but lots of people do them they're lots of people do them and it could be especially beach people yeah this girl but but people would be like what's that weirdo i know i
know vanessa says she loves her afro i know me too i know i know yeah like yeah that's a cute idea
like for real yeah so for real for real drop some ideas in there and we'll see maybe a bunch of you
guys and if you guys are like i would never want to support this, that's fine, too.
You can tell us.
Yeah, we get it.
If you don't.
And we'll just have a graphic for when we call out the peanut gallery as something fun to do.
But yeah, that was fun.
Super cute.
I really appreciate everybody's help on that.
It came together so well.
So happy about it.
Super cute.
Okay.
So while we're here, we'll quickly just make sure that everybody's doing their part.
And I'm going to share on Facebook too.
Logan with all the crying emojis.
She loves it.
So if you're on Facebook, like and share, comment.
Just drop a comment and then just say where you're from, where you're watching.
You know, whatever.
Just drop something in there and then we'll know you're
there. And then switch over to good old rumble, because we love our rumble. And, you know, it's
just there's no issues. And we have live chat going, we have an option for you guys to drop
a comment in obviously, the comments stay if you're new to rumble FYI, the comments will stay
indefinitely, unless we delete them. But, but your, the chat will disappear.
So if you see some, um, scriptures dropping in the chat, make sure you write them down. Or if you
want, you can drop them into the comments for us. Sometimes we do both, but they are also going to
be in black robe. They're also going to be on YouTube. So, um, YouTube, we are back up. We
got banned for a little bit because we spoke some truth and
it is what it is. And so they hate truth and Facebook probably does too. And somehow we got
through that one, but but it seems like we've been a little shadow banned on there. So we'll see. But
if you're on, there's about 12 people on Facebook, hop over to Rumble, come join the chat. Just take
a, take an hour and I'm now 45 minutes,
take 45 minutes and enjoy the chat with everybody. Um, okay. Again, so we're on all those social
media platforms. You can also listen audio podcast. Um, just a reminder, it is not live
on audio podcast. That is not an option. It is uploaded later on. So you'll just be either like
a little bit behind on those or you can kind of
listen, you know, if you listen, if it's, you know, Friday, you can listen to Wednesdays and
stuff like that. But there is no live option for audio podcast yet. So we'll see. Maybe they'll
eventually will do that for us. We're on Instagram. We've got some great merch. We've got four things
now. So you guys know about the ubu t-shirt um
the mug and the spoon and now with the tiny hands and we've also got the hat and we've got our
beautiful model talia sporting the hat and i know you guys have seen perfect facial i know with her
beautiful face and skin is perfect it is it's uh you, Lord. And thank you, Tracy.
And Tracy saw it and she's like, I love you guys.
She did end up commenting in there later on.
She watched the replay.
We love you too, girl.
We do.
We do.
We love you so much.
And then send in your questions.
Keep sending them in.
And if you get like a bunch of them and you just want to send a bunch together, that's okay.
Hope loves knowing like the backstory to certain things.
So if it's kind of a,, it's not like a basic question,
maybe just give some context to it so that,
I don't know,
she can give you even more precise advice or just information and what she's
got and maybe been there,
done that kind of situation.
So,
and then last but not least is very exciting.
Our ladies conference,
beloved ladies conference.
And this year it'll be called victorious.
And we are so excited about this.
Everything is in motion for this guy.
Before you know it, it'll be August.
I'm literally crazy.
Literally.
Cannot believe it's May.
It's May.
It is May.
It'll be June.
It'll be June.
It's crazy.
It is crazy.
So yeah, save the date.
August 22nd to the 24th.
And come on down.
Come on down.
Stay at the hotel.
Get your mom or husband to take over the kids for a couple days.
And just get to like, there's a pool.
If you're from up north, that's all you care about.
There's a pool at the hotel.
It's super close.
There's a Moe's.
If you love Moe's.
Oh my gosh. You just walk there. No. Get some cheese dip. There's a Moe's if you love Moe's. Oh my gosh. You just walk there.
No. Get some cheese dip. There's better than
Moe's. Get some cheese dip.
I go into Moe's and the lady
every time I go I get 2D. That's all
she wants is the cheese dip. So the lady's
like, hey, next time buy a second
one and then make
mac and cheese but use this cheese
for your mac and cheese.
So I'm going to try it, guys.
She's told me.
The best advice comes from us as far as cooking.
Culinary cooking.
Culinary geniuses.
So you're going to take Moe's' cheese to make your mac and cheese?
Yeah.
I'm going to try it.
Did you say Moe's?
Moe's.
Moe's is.
Moe's.
M-O-E-S.
Moe's, the restaurant.
She likes that better than Chipotle.
No, I like both.
Or Chipotle.
Chipotle.
Or whatever it is.
I like Chipotle.
I do not.
Chipotle is my life.
But whatever.
But I don't like, there's not many, there's not things I don't like.
No, it's a meme.
Somebody made a video that was like, Chipotle is my life.
Oh, okay.
I just like it.
It's all right, but I'm not writing home about it.
Not a fan. Oh, that's sad. Not a fan. But I like everything. I like Chipotle. It's alright but I'm not writing home about it. Not a fan.
But I like everything.
I like everything too but I don't like that.
I like everything.
Like say something.
I probably like it.
Listen, what they serve I like.
I just don't like how they serve it.
What did you get?
Some steak
whatever and it tasted
like doody.
The burritos are good. Wait, you just tried it once?
Did you try it once? Twice.
Oh, alright. The last time
I thought my mouth was gonna,
like, I thought I was dragging.
And smoke would come out.
Like spicy?
Yes, it was not good.
But even the part that wasn't spicy yeah so par oh not that great
i kind of want it now now it's kind of like it's a must it's good i had i you know what i had
i went to i love blue tequila so if i'm gonna eat mex, it ain't going to be Chipotle. Oh, yeah. No. That is so good. We went there one time, a long
time ago. But they got a pineapple
and they got a lime
down by you. I know. Okay. I don't know
if it's as good, but I'm just saying it's like
the cousins or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But they got
a pineapple one. Pineapple
tequila
down in Venice.
Really? It's good.
Good. It was there last night or yesterday? It's good. Good.
It was there last night or yesterday.
It's good.
Yum.
You live in the area.
Pineapple.
Super clean.
Service was great.
Food on point.
And I love, I love homemade guac.
Yes.
Oh my gosh.
And they do it there.
You know what makes it great?
Bailey.
Add it.
Bailey makes great guac.
Yes, I know.
Just something good to know.
Yeah, might have to.
Vanessa's vote is Taco Bell, of course.
She's not even a Latina if she's saying that.
I know.
Everybody hates on her for it.
But she makes a killer.
No, she makes a killer guac.
Does she?
Yeah. I don't think she's ever shared it with me.
I don't think I've ever had her guacamole either.
She just did all that nice stuff for you.
Nothing for us.
It was many years ago, people, before she had a real life.
She was just bored.
Yeah, she had small children.
She's like, I'm going to make some guacamole for Hope's day.
I went over there for dinner.
One of the few times we went out to people's
houses. Yeah, right.
Back in the
good old days.
Do we got anything else?
That's it. That's it. Alright.
Now that we've made everybody hungry. I know.
They're all home though. They can just
go eat. Everybody's not home.
There are people that are watching this in their office. Okay. They're all home, though. They can just go eat. Everybody's not home. There are people that are watching this in their office.
Okay.
Well, I think, yeah, I think Sean's busy.
He's delivering tile or something, so he probably can't eat.
But he might be able to pick up Taco Bell on the way out.
I'm hungry.
Me too.
I'm ready.
So let's do the first question.
Okay.
Please help clear up this debate.
With what scriptures can we determine the difference between religiosity in the Bible,
like women not speaking, don't cut your hair, don't eat certain things,
and the non-negotiable things that God commands of us?
The book of Hebrews has a solid stance on the fact that Jesus' blood made a new covenant,
but with scriptures like Proverbs 30, verse 6, and Deuteronomy 4-2,
how do we determine when some parts of the Bible were only for a certain time period
and not necessarily set in stone for us today? We're going to go to Proverbs 36 and Deuteronomy.
We're going to read those over so that everybody knows what we're talking about. But I'm going to just tell you, when you're looking into being religious, what's religious,
what's not religious, I would stick solely with the New Testament. The reason is, is because Jesus
got rid of all the religiosity. What he tried to do is what the Pharisees and the Sadducees were doing.
They were making everything religious. They were taking everything that God had created,
and they were using it for their own prosperity. They were changing the guidelines that God had
set so that they would benefit them. And they made people very religious. And so for me, Jesus,
Jesus, when he came, he got rid of all that junk. Now, do people still act religious today? Yes,
they make things that shouldn't be religious, religious. And I mean, we've gone over some of
those things. But even like communion can be very religious with people.
And it's not really what God designed it or, excuse me, Jesus designed it to be.
But there's other things that people like praying.
People become very religious when they pray.
And Jesus actually corrected the people when he would hear the Sadducees and Pharisees speaking and praying.
He actually warned people not to be like them because they were religious and because they
were full of themselves. And he was trying to let people know, like, well, let's read it and then I'll go further into it so that you understand what I'm about to say.
Okay.
So let's go to Proverbs 36.
And it says, do not add to his words lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.
So what you're using in the scripture is don't add or subtract to the Bible.
So you're wanting to make sure of whatever was applied in the Old Testament
is still applied to the New Testament.
And what you're referring to with the scripture is,
if the word says that it was good then, shouldn't it be good now?
That's what I'm getting from you. Deuteronomy
4.2 says, you shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may
keep the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you. Now, if you look in the New Testament,
Revelation says the very same thing that Deuteronomy did. But when he's talking about
the commandments, he's talking like the 10 commandments. He's not talking about the
Levitical law. We were just talking about this on Wednesday He's talking like the 10 commandments. He's not talking about the little vehicle law.
We were just talking about this on Wednesday.
Like everybody skips over numbers and Leviticus because they're very rigid.
It's a bunch of rules and regulations
that actually are done away with because Jesus came.
They were like things that you would do.
Like, for example, if a woman came on our cycle, she had to live outside of the camp. Okay, we
don't live like that today. Okay, we don't abide by those rules. There are people that want to wear
little white, like dowel doilies on top of their head women because it says to have your head
covered. That's not what it means. And that's why we have to study the word out but there were some things that were
specific for that day and it's not like some people will say well homosexuality has evolved
and it's really not a sin anymore it was only a sin for that day. I've literally had a, yes, Methodist pastor say that
we evolve with the times. And when a family member of mine said to this Methodist pastor, well, the
Bible clearly says that it's the same yesterday, today, and forever. That what their thing is,
you didn't go to seminary. Okay. I don't need to go to seminary to know that that's a bunch of hooey.
And sin is sin.
But a lot of times the Methodist religion has, or denomination, has gone very woke.
And they've gotten very liberal.
So you have to be really, really careful.
Who you listen to, and are they using the true word of it, are they using the true word of God?
Are they teaching the true word of God? Are they teaching what society itself is embracing so that
their congregation grows? Okay. That's a way a lot of churches are today. It's how do I grow a big
church and have large numbers? A lot of times churches, pastors are paid based on the number of people who attend their congregation.
That's the way the denomination is set up.
It's just the facts.
So there's reasons for that. And then sometimes pastors are moved within a denomination
based on the time they've ministered,
how well they did at their previous church,
so you're ready for a bigger congregation.
It's not really Holy Spirit-led.
It's more or less a business decision.
And that's very, very dangerous.
You should only leave a church, whether you attend
it and you sit in the pew or the chair, or you are actually preaching. You only come and go as
God tells you your time is up. Not because it's a good business decision for you to take. Okay.
That's being religious. And that's like not operating through the Holy Spirit. But that's
not the way churches are today.
And it's very, very dangerous.
So adding and subtracting to the word doesn't necessarily,
like the Levitical law, we don't do that anymore
because we don't sacrifice to animals.
Jesus said he is the ultimate sacrifice.
So don't get too confused.
But through time in reading the word, you realize,
oh, that doesn't apply anymore because Jesus is the new covenant, right? And not that those things
were wrong or there's just something better. They're inferior to what we have today.
But the 10 commandments is what we still live by. If you look at the 10 commandments,
it's like what I said, I think, last week or the week before.
The Ten Commandments, actually, if you look through the New Testament,
and it says, if you do these things, you'll not inherit the kingdom of heaven.
All the things in the Ten Commandments are actually listed
as part of those things that are in the New Testament.
So we didn't do away with the Ten Commandments.
We've just done in addition to them with the new covenant with
Jesus. Does that make sense, ladies? Yeah. Okay. Absolutely. So Revelation 22, 18 through 19 says
basically what Deuteronomy and Proverbs said, which is, for I testify to everyone who hears
the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the
plagues that are written in this book. And anyone who takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, which was revelation, God shall take away his part from
the book of life, from the holy city and from the things which are written in the book. So
it's very dangerous when, like you'll hear Tom say a lot of times, this is my opinion. Okay.
Because he wants to decipher between what's his opinion and what the word actually says.
It's very important to do that.
Now, sometimes people miss it and they forget to say that or whatever.
So like you can't it's not a hold.
It's not a hard hold and fast, but people should make it very clear what's their opinion and what the Bible says so that you're not adding or subtracting.
But what happens is, is like there's denominations that preach that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the book of Acts, what happened on the day of Pentecost, even healing, all of the prophecy.
There are certain things that were for then and not for now. It doesn't say that in the Bible. Or they'll teach that it's demonic.
None of that is true at all.
So what they've done is they've subtracted from the word,
and they've added their opinion.
Doctrines are very, very dangerous.
That's why, like here at our church,
we're a Bible base where it's called full gospel.
We're not under any denomination at all.
We are under a, we have an accountability to two different ministries that we fall under for strong accountability.
Most people are only under one.
We actually are under two.
And to be accountable, because it is super important.
But at the end of the day, if the Holy Spirit tells Tom to do something, Tom doesn't. He doesn't
go to a board and he doesn't go to a group of people or he doesn't get permission. He does what
the Holy Spirit tells him to do. That's not how most churches do it. Most churches are run by a
board and the board hopefully has people
who are spirit led and pray.
But most of the ones that I've known or have attended,
they're very carnal and they do everything business minded
with a business sense,
not with what is the Holy Spirit telling us to do?
They hire their pastors that way.
It's not good.
So the closer you can get to something that is,
the closest thing that you can get to as far as attending a church
that runs their ministry totally Bible-based,
that's the best you can do.
Like the river.
The river is no doctrine.
They're full gospel, right?
Jonathan Shuttlesworth, Revival Today, there is no doctrine.
They were under one for a long time.
They left it many, many, many, many, many, many years ago
before they ever even had a church.
They're absolutely under no one.
They do everything full gospel through the word,
Holy Spirit-driven, Holy Spirit-led.
But I don't really know of anybody else that does it like that
because most people are under
some form of a denomination. And a lot of reasons, there's a lot of reasons for that. Because a lot
of times people are afraid to step out and do something and plant a church on their own.
So it's easier for them to be under a church that will help support them as they get started. It's
very dangerous though. If God's told you to start a church, he'll meet the need and, and you'll have the funds that are needed. If God's told you to
start a ministry and it doesn't even mean it's a church, but he's told you to start a ministry,
it could be, um, it could be helping unwed mothers, right? Um, and you feel like you got
to be underneath, um be underneath a group of people
that help support unwed mothers.
Now they dictate to you potentially how you're going to run this ministry.
It would be far better for you if the Lord's told you to start it.
Start it with your own money and see God multiply it.
He'll provide.
Do what he tells you to do and be underneath his rules and guidelines versus somebody else's.
Man-made is never good.
So you mentioned that, did you mention it?
You said something about women not being able to speak, to not cut their hair, and not to eat certain things.
Well, I'm always going to touch that stuff, touch on some of that stuff. Women speaking, again, the
more you know the word and study it out, the more and better understanding. The reason why Paul was
saying for women not to speak is because they were talking right in the middle of, women sat in one
place, men sat in another. And the women were very simple, and they didn't, they were talking right in the middle of women sat in one place men sat in
another and the women were very simple and they didn't they were not educated so when uh the the
leadership was preaching or speaking the women were talking and they were being disruptive
and so that's the reason why that was said men Men, your wives are not to speak during, they're not to speak.
When you get home and they have questions, you answer their questions at home.
That's what that meant.
It wasn't that women aren't allowed in the pulpit.
They're not allowed to preach or teach.
That's not what that meant.
And a lot of people use that, but that's not what that was referring to.
Okay, so it was because they were disruptive.
And the Bible says that that when you
a church should be in order right and it was out of order because women were talking too much
all right and then another one was not to cut your hair it's not a sin to cut your hair we all cut
our hair i mean we all get split ends you're gonna let that just grow grow grow grow grow it's not a
sin and even if the bible said don't cut your hair, it didn't say, if you cut your hair, you're going to hell.
It's true.
So it's like it also said not to get pierced.
I mean, not to pierce your body.
But here's the thing.
Before, like when Esther was getting prepared for the king,
guess what they were doing to her?
For a year, they prepared her.
And her hair was cut.
And she was wearing jewelry.
And she had piercings.
And, like, I'm not saying that their noses were pierced.
Their earrings, they had earrings, though.
I'm not saying they had belly button rings.
What do you call those? those belly button piercings they didn't they didn't have all of
that but i'm just saying like it didn't doesn't say that if you cut your hair it there's places
it says a woman should have a covering on her head if you study that out that's not like for
today as far as there were reasons for that but that's not
that's not what we follow today and it's not because the rules have changed it just is because
that's was for that time period um and how things were done when in Rome be in Rome so and it's not
again because we don't see that as sin anymore so because you know that rule changed because we don't see that as sin anymore. So, because, you know, that rule changed
because we evolved with it.
That's not, that's not, if, if,
when you study this out,
you'll understand exactly what I'm saying to you right now.
And it'll make complete sense to you.
We don't eat certain,
the reason that you weren't allowed to eat certain things
was because some of them were very dirty
and you couldn't clean them properly.
Some of them you couldn't
store properly because they had no refrigeration. You would get sick. Some of them were bottom
feeders. And so you didn't know what they were eating. So if you ate that, you would be sick.
So there's like all different reasons, but it wasn't because God was trying to keep people
from eating all the really good stuff. It was just in that time frame or in that time period,
they didn't have refrigerators.
They didn't have the proper things to clean things with.
We do today.
So go ahead, eat that shellfish.
Go ahead and eat that pork.
It's not bad for you.
And if you look in the New Testament,
the Lord told Peter,
if I created it, it's good for you to eat.
So all of that's done away.
As you study the words, you'll see where the script is changed,
but on certain things, but from the Old Testament,
with permission to do it in the New Testament.
But there is reasons for it.
And it's not hypocrisy.
It's not confusion.
It's just a simple understanding
of why those things were done away with.
It will make sense to you as you study them.
And again, if it says,
there is a difference between sin and things.
There's things that are permissive, but not
like the greatest things to do, right? And I'm not talking compromise. I'm just saying
there's things that you're allowed to do, but maybe it's not the best thing you can do. So
then it's working out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Like for me, I'll give you an example.
Like you're permitted to listen to secular music.
Should you listen to secular music?
Like what does that do for you spiritually speaking?
Okay, you're not going to hell.
And God doesn't have it in the Bible that it's wrong to do.
Okay?
But is it the wisest thing to do?
Is it great?
No, it's not.
But you can still do it.
That's what I mean by it's permissible.
But is it wise?
Is it really the best thing to do?
There's lots of those things.
Then there's the do's and the don'ts.
And when it says do not, you do not. and when it says do not you do not and when it says
do then you do okay if it says if you do this you'll not inherit the kingdom of heaven you
definitely don't do it because you ain't gonna go to heaven if you do it again working out your
own salvation with fear and trembling except for when it says these things will cost you your
eternity right this is like heaven and hell.
Those are the things.
It's super simple.
It's a no-brainer.
Ladies, want to add to that?
She wants to listen to her secular music.
No, actually.
I'm just kidding.
I just got rid of all of it.
What?
I've not been listening to it at all.
I've completely deleted everything off of my...
Good for you, sister.
Yeah, it's been amazing.
Yeah, fill yourself up with that good, godly music.
And listen, some of it's really bad.
Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Some of that Christian music is so weak sauce,
and it actually is very woke and not biblical.
Correct. They actually go against what the word of god is saying yep so you got to be very careful with even christian
music yeah but there's a lot of great worship stuff out there you just got to be wise with
what you listen to that too yeah exactly and ecclesiastes says there's a season for everything
and i think sometimes when you're going to war spiritually, the last thing you should be doing is like even entertaining anything worldly. Like you just need
to be like tunnel vision. So that too, but also, yeah, there's worship songs that aren't, aren't
like they leave a seed of doubt too. So you've got to, you, you do, you have to actually pay
attention to what you're doing and you have to lean into your convictions. Or they give you permission to live in sin or to live a less than righteous lifestyle.
Right. Or like God might not, you know, God might do it. You know, there's songs that are like,
I don't know. So yeah. Beautiful the mess we are is what Tom always says. But my thing is with,
when I say a righteous lifestyle, I'm not not talking about holy we all should be chasing after holiness right
i'm talking what would it what was abraham abram was noted as being righteous because what because
of his faith and so we these songs give us permission to walk in less than what god has
promised us and that's dangerous it is Because that's prophecy out of your mouth.
Right.
And every time you sing it,
whether you believe it or you're not,
it does plant a seed.
And you got to be really careful about that.
So righteousness is huge.
Yeah.
It's huge.
A lot of people think when I say righteousness,
I'm saying purity.
I'm not.
That's not what righteousness,
I mean, righteousness can be that.
But I'm specifically speaking about
what we as believers have been accounted as righteousness.
And a lot of people forget about that.
So, and Sarah's got something.
Yeah.
I can see it.
I came back.
Well, Jesus said when they were like,
well, what is the greatest commandment?
And he said, love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength,
and love your neighbor as yourself.
And there's no law against any of that.
So if you're focused on walking in love and you're seeking God with all your heart,
then you're not going to really be looking at all that other stuff.
Well, you shouldn't be.
Jesus became sin so that we could become the righteousness of God.
And then walking in that righteousness and walking with him and not thinking
that you have to go like walk to him, you know, like.
Or that he's having to carry you.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
The old footprints.
Because a lot of times people are like, he'll carry me.
No, you carry you.
Right.
Yeah.
Like you carry you.
You got two feet.
Right.
Walk beside him.
Let him lead and guide and direct you.
Don't make him be the one that has to like carry the load.
Yeah.
Which is what we usually want him to do is carry our load after we make a mess.
Mm-hmm.
It's true.
So go ahead, finish what you were saying.
Yeah, I think that's it.
I think that was it.
She's done.
She's done.
I just think we make things way too complicated.
And the Bible is very simple.
It really is.
We make it way more complicated than it even needs to be.
If we just simply read it and study it,
then we're like, oh, wow,
I'm making way more of this than what there really needs to be.
Because we do.
When I first started dating Tom,
I remember this is just so crazy because I think it was
like in the first six months because he and I used to like talk for hours and hours and
hours.
And one of the things we always talked about, obviously, was God and the Bible and things
like that.
And I used to think to myself, man, he just makes Christianity so simple when I had made
it so complicated.
And I remember saying to him, man, oh, man, like Christianity is so simple when I had made it so complicated. And I remember saying to him, man, oh, man, like Christianity is so simple.
If you could just if you could explain this to people like you do all the time, I think people would be so less confused.
Or but I didn't know at the time that he was going to be a pastor or anything like that.
I just thought to myself, like he just he makes it where it's not complicated because
christianity really isn't complicated and we make it way more than what it is yeah we do it's just
we just make it way more harder than it actually it actually is 100 so and it's hard to watch like
it's hard to watch people struggling and like making this life of
freedom yeah and and then making decisions that are they are they what god is telling you or you
just you're watching somebody else and so it just gets like so much so much turmoil back and forth
back and forth and yeah because even in the midst of here's the thing like
it's so crazy because, it's so crazy
because in the, I'm thinking about some specific things, but even in the midst of when things
can be very tumultuous in your life because of outside circumstances and people and things like that, even in the
midst of that tumult, you can have momentary times where you're just like, I'm so fed up
with this nonsense.
I had a moment like that yesterday.
Like for like 30 minutes, I was like, I've had it up to here.
Like this is like ridiculous nonsense.
Like what the heck?
Aren't we all adults kind of thing?
But it was 30 minutes.
And then none of the situations or circumstances
or things that we're dealing with have changed any.
Lies and deception and divisiveness.
None of that changes.
It's just you just handle it differently because it's not complicated because you just know God is faithful and he will reveal
whatever is done in the dark will be brought to the light and vengeance is his and vindication
will come. And if you know those things and you've seen him do it time and time
and time again, and it may take years and it may not even be while you're alive that it happens,
but you know, it's going to happen. Just like Abraham didn't know, like he wasn't present when
the generation of generation and generations, as many stars are in the sky, as many sand is on the
seashore. He wasn't there to see all of that come to pass, but he knew it was going to happen.
His faith existed enough to know like that's
he said i'm the father of many nations i'm gonna be the father of many nations i may be i may not
be on this earth to see it happen but i know it i may not be on this earth to see vindication for
for things that i should be vindicated over but i know it will happen because his word does not
return void and his a promise that he has given me so in those moments I have 30 minutes where I'm just like but the rest of it's like I don't
care and if we can get to a place where even it's not even 30 minutes because it used to be for me
many many many years ago like 10 years ago maybe a little bit more than that I would be peeved for a day, maybe two, if it kept going on.
And now I'm like, I don't care.
You know what?
God's God.
He'll take care of it.
I'm responsible for myself.
I'm responsible for what I say and do.
So I'm done.
And that's freedom.
Because that's the word.
That is.
I know. And when you start actually not making the word complicated and you actually apply it and you live it out day to day
you sit there and go this is this is not hard life is not hard life is actually pretty dang easy
so and he has set us up for success right if we because we have personal choice, he set us up for success with the right decisions that we make
every second or every minute or every day,
whichever, or every hour,
whatever way you operate.
Some people are just learning to overcome.
So it might be a second by second decision for you
because I've been there.
Like, okay, the second has passed.
Am I going to rage?
You know, then it becomes minute by minute. Okay. I've gone a minute now. I think I can do it. I can do another, you know?
Yeah. And then it just progresses in. It's, it's way easier, but it takes practice. And so it's
pretty interesting. Yeah. Anybody else want to add anything else? Cause we're going to move to
the next question. Cause the next question is very spiritual. Oh, gosh.
Very spiritual.
Okay.
What is your all-time favorite movie, and what movie do you absolutely hate?
This is super easy for me.
I'm ready.
Oh.
It was.
It was super easy for me.
I have my favorites.
I don't watch a lot of movies.
I don't watch a lot of movies at all.
Especially today.
You know why? Because I feel
like there's so much that I could be doing
that I hate it. And if I'm
sitting there watching, I usually am doing
something while I'm watching. Same.
Laundry.
Everything.
Tom's always like, can't you just sit still?
No, I cannot sit still.
There's things that I'd rather be doing more
than just sitting here watching this.
Like, I...
But, back in the day,
I watched movies.
Okay.
You know my favorite movie?
I have a couple.
Okay.
My favorite movie is
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
You guys know who that is, right?
I've heard of it.
What is that?
Is that him?
No.
Is that him?
No.
It's a movie.
I'm like Googling these people.
I'm like, who are they?
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Okay.
Butch Cassidy.
Paul Newman.
Sundance Kid.
Robert Redford.
Interesting.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
It is a great flipping movie.
It's such a great movie. Interesting. Okay. It's old. It is a great flipping movie. Like,
it's such a great movie.
Interesting.
Okay.
It's old.
It's a cowboy.
Yeah.
Like,
kind of cowboy.
It's so good.
Okay.
Then the other one
is Jeremiah Johnson.
Have you ever heard
of that one?
No.
I'm a cowboy.
I'm like an old,
I'm not even old.
You like them westerns.
I do.
I'm not,
I mean,
I like Clint Eastwood
and stuff like that.
I love John Wayne.
Me and Tom can watch John Wayne movies.
I have a lot of his stuff not memorized,
but I know what's going to happen throughout the whole entire thing.
I've watched it that many times.
But I'm an old school kind of girl.
I really think I am.
All of my teachers are old school
they're like the people i love to listen to yeah i'm not an old school kind of girl i live even my
household how it's run is just totally old school there's something sweet and fresh about but
jeremiah johnson is robert redford yeah i must have had a thing for him i don't know that's what
sean just said somebody likes robert redford i don't know. That's what Sean just said. Somebody likes Robert Redford. I don't know. He's reading your mail.
But I really don't. I mean, he was
a good looking man, but I mean, if I
had my choice, Paul Newman
is really more my style. But even him,
I didn't have. I love
his salad dressing.
I do. But
listen, I'm going to tell you.
You know who I, who
like, who is the ultimate, always good-looking?
I've never really had heart throbs or anything like that.
Maybe when I was in high school, but not even then, really.
But you know when you get older and you're like,
dang, that's a good-looking guy.
You know, Sam Elliott.
I'm just telling you.
Tom's always like, hope. You don't think Sam Elliott's good-looking? No. Oh, gosh, yes. Here we go. Let's see if looking guy. You know, Sam Elliott. I'm just telling you. Tom's always like hope.
But yeah, you don't think Sam Elliott's good looking?
No.
Oh gosh, yes.
No.
Oh yeah, Sam Elliott's so good looking.
That's the first picture that comes up.
Are you picking a bad picture?
I don't know if this is the first one.
Is it going to show us?
He's good looking.
Sometimes it doesn't come up.
He's a good looking man.
I think this is the picture
that came up
no
oh my god
no you gotta get one
with a cowboy hat on her
she ain't gonna like it
okay
that's the first one
that Talia and I saw
this one's the next one
yeah there you go baby
you don't know
we'll show everybody
that's when he's older
when he was younger
okay I'll find a younger
that's a real man right there
he's got a good voice
that's a man
he has a great voice
his voice is very thank you sir there. He's got a good voice, though, I will say. He has a great voice. His voice is very...
Thank you, sir.
Yes, I agree.
Okay.
He's got a great voice.
But yeah.
Cinematic.
But I never really...
That's the word I'm looking for.
Yes.
I've never been really like a Hollywood, like, ooh.
I've never really...
That's not my style.
But he's like, if I were to say, good looking man, he's one of them.
Because he's very rugged.
He's a man's man.
I like man's men.
I like, I don't like man's men.
I like men that know they're men.
I don't like wussy.
Listen, for me, if I'm going to, that's why I think I like wussy. Listen, for me,
that's why I think I like Tom because Tom was an athlete.
Why you think you like him?
I think I liked him.
Like he was an athlete.
When I touched his hand,
they were so full of calluses.
I was like, what does he do?
Nothing.
He was lifting weights.
Yeah.
That's chair.
But for me, like I like, I like men, like for me, like somebody who's like a mechanic,
somebody who's out there working out in the, what?
Tradesman.
Yes.
Somebody who's out there working.
Blue collar.
I was going to say blue collar, but then people are like, what do you mean by blue collar?
I like people that are outside working. Blue collar. I was going to say blue collar, but then people are like, what do you mean by blue collar? I like people that are outside, working outside.
Like, you're
having, maybe you have to dig a ditch or something
like that. Go for it.
I'll watch you dig the ditch. I don't know.
You're good at them.
Hey, listen, I can help. Yeah, you can.
Or you can stand inside
with the baby on your hip and watch them
dig that ditch.
That's right. Real country. I'm not i for me i'm like i've never been like give me an attorney yeah i don't know what did your dad do uh my dad was he like a blue collar worker yeah he was blue
collar he worked in an office but my dad like, like, it's probably because of my dad.
Yeah, that's what I'm wondering.
Because there is nothing my dad couldn't do.
Okay.
Like, everything, if it needed to be fixed, he could fix it.
Yeah.
Like, from a car to something broken in the house.
Like, there's nothing.
I know.
That's how my dad was. Yeah, so for me, I'm impressed by people who can, like, if you've got grease under your fingernails,
you're my kind of guy.
Absolutely.
I love people that are like that.
Ladies, what's your favorite movie?
And then we'll go to the ones we hate.
We've got five minutes.
Anybody?
Oh, are you going to go?
Go ahead.
I will.
Beauty and the Beast.
The ghost.
I love both.
Oh, so you like the animated and the live. Yeah, I love them both. Interesting. That's not normal. Yeah. I love both. Oh, so you like the animated and the live.
Yeah, I love them both.
Interesting.
That's not normal.
Yeah.
I love them both, like equally.
You just like the story.
Don't tell me the one you hate.
No.
And then 10 Things I Hate About You is a good movie also.
Who's in that?
Heath Ledger.
Such a great actor.
Is it based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew?
No.
Interesting. Let interesting learn something new
do you guys know
the movie
The Dark Crystal
no
it's probably
demonic
it's probably demonic
but
my dad
has a crystal in it
my dad
watched it with me
and it was
my favorite movie ever
oh man
but that's like
a nostalgic one
okay
interesting if you saw it oh wait does she have
to say what she hates or loves no just wait on the hates okay tracy you didn't say what you like
okay well i'm just saying are you gonna skip it that's the reason why i'm asking sarah can go next
are you do you not have one well i'm not real like growing up because i lived in massachusetts
i would watch blue crush all the time it's like a heard that. It's like a movie based in Hawaii.
And the girl surfs.
And it just like, it made me so happy.
Because you're so cold?
Because I was so cold.
And so I literally would just put it on.
But I don't like watching.
I'm not a huge movie person.
I like watching new movies.
Like I like watching something new.
I like being like, watching the same thing over and over again.
I heard a very interesting thing about why people watch the same movie over and over and over again.
Why is that?
Because it's usually people that are very anxious.
So they like to watch the same thing over and over because they know it's coming.
So it never raises their anxiety.
Oh, that's very interesting.
That makes complete sense.
Doesn't it?
100%.
Right.
So that's weird. But I love Fast and Furious
Because Vin Diesel
Oh yeah
Have you seen recent pictures of him?
No
He has man boobs
It's not attractive at all
But I wanted to marry him
And I was like
He's 40
And I'm 16
But that's not
I mean
Might be worth it
He was
I'm just telling you
You wouldn't want to be married to him right now
Well I kind of did
Jer's kind of Vin Diesel- did He's got a shaved head
He didn't have a beard when I met him
But Jer doesn't have man boobs
Well he didn't have man boobs back in the day
When I liked him
Vanessa likes blue crush too
I'm like you
I thought she was going to say the same thing Sarah
I'm in the chat I'm in the chat.
Did she say I do?
No, but she'll tell you.
She'll be like, I like my men big and beefy.
That's true.
That's true.
No, no, blue crush, blue crush.
Interesting.
But yeah, no, I'm like you.
Like I'll just, I'll watch something,
but I am doing a million things.
I'm on my computer a lot of the times doing all the work.
I just want – if I have to have something on, I want chill.
I listen to probably – I watch probably Andy Griffith.
My dad – that's all my dad watched a lot of too.
I mean we watched other stuff, but I probably watch Andy Griffith.
If I'm watching anything,
it's almost always Andy Griffith.
Yeah.
Interesting.
It's very wholesome.
Yeah, it is.
That's one of the main reasons I watch it.
Yeah.
It's very wholesome.
And I think it's super important what you take in.
So I try and limit the amount of crap that I put into me.
Because again, I'm in a season where we're trying to go to the next level.
And whenever you're trying to go to the next level,
you see Satan coming against you with all these different things.
And they're happening.
Distractions.
I see them happening.
I see them happening in our church, in the congregation.
I see them happening with outside influences
and stuff like that.
And I know exactly what's going on.
I can see it.
Now, some people will fall prey to it
and you just got to let things happen like they happen.
But I'm waging war against all that stuff.
And then I'm waging war.
It's spiritual warfare.
And the thing is, to get to the next level, you have to win the battle.
And sometimes just winning the battle is seeing how things play out and being okay with them and knowing that God's got to get you to the other side and it'll be far better than it was before.
And you just got to be okay with that.
And that's okay.
But if you take in junk,
then that's a distraction.
And that doesn't keep your mind focused on the things
that it really needs to be focused on.
And so for me,
like I don't,
if it isn't,
if it's not something good,
I'm probably not watching it.
And if I,
it has to be real chill too.
I don't want all this,
like I don't want to watch a horror flick
or like I'm not an action, I'm not an action drama kind of person.
Because I'm like, there's too much in the world today.
Who wants more of it?
That's true.
I can put on the news and see all that crap.
Yeah, that's true.
Far worse than the movie.
What's yours, Sarah?
I'm going to have to go old school because I do love movies.
I don't really watch a lot right
late currently but i'm gonna go with the labyrinth oh yeah and the princess bride
i love the princess bride yeah that was a good movie that's like those if i was like if i could
only watch one movie ever it would be one of them. I love The Princess Bride. So good.
You know, it's so good,
but those actors at the time,
just like, eh.
Andre the Giant was in it, yeah.
I love Andre the Giant.
Those actors were just like,
they're okay.
They're not B,
but they weren't top of the line.
They did a great job on that movie.
That was an excellent movie.
Excellent movie.
So good.
Okay, my hate, the one that I hate
is I was somewhat forced to go to this movie
because we would always go out with friends
New Year's Eve night
you know these people
Sarah because they were mutual
for us so we used to go
I'll tell you later after
I already know
we used to go out with them on New Year's Eve and bring in the New Year together,
but we'd always do it in a movie.
And this one year, we go and we see The Lord of the Rings.
Okay, first of all, I had no idea I'd be there for six hours.
Eight hours later.
Yeah, I actually put ten hours in my notes.
Ten hours.
Exaggerative, but not by much.
Had no idea that it would be so long.
And then to boot, it's a sequel.
So there is no ending.
So you've wasted all those stinking hours to have no end.
I was mad.
I walked out of there.
I'm like, why did you guys put me through that?
That was a waste of my daggum time.
I was like, this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life. Can we have
an ending, please? They're like, well, it's a sequel.
I'm like, never heard of it.
Never read it. Don't care.
Next time, take me to
a movie that has an actual ending.
I need an ending.
After all those hours and
nothing changed?
They should have known.
They did know and they were okay with that. No for you.
They should have notified me.
You wouldn't have not come. I would not have
come. Tom would have brought in the New Year by himself.
That was
awful. I hate that movie.
Just because of that.
That's like Tom's favorite series.
One of Tom's favorite series is
The Lord of the Rings.
He loves that. He could watch Lord of the Rings. He loves it.
I mean, he can watch that and The Matrix.
He can watch over and over and over and over and over again.
But he really feels like The Matrix in many ways is symbolic.
It's extremely metaphorical, for sure.
Yes, and that's one of the reasons why he's so drawn to it.
That's where you get the red pill from.
Yeah.
So it's very interesting, though. But yeah, I wouldn't have it. That's where you get the red pill from. Yeah. So it's very interesting though.
But yeah, I wouldn't have gone.
What's your favorite?
Hatred?
Oh yeah, what's your hatred?
What's your hatred?
What do you hate?
I don't know.
I don't really, I don't know.
I don't like sci-fi, like that kind of stuff.
I don't, I've never really watched Star Wars.
I might've like caught pieces of it.
I've never watched a whole Star Wars
in my whole entire life.
I've tried so many times.
It's so boring to me.
That's what I did.
I tried.
Even the newer ones.
Harry Potter, I don't watch.
There's no interest in it.
I don't know if I hate it because I don't watch it.
Horror, I don't do horror.
Neither do I.
I don't like the Saw movies where people are being torn apart.
That stuff, I just am like, why?
Gore.
Gore, yes.
No.
So literally genres of movies that I why? Gore. Yeah. Gore. Yes. No. So like literally like genres of movies that I, I would never watch.
Yeah.
So like I'm limited because I'm like you, sci-fi.
Like Tom puts on Star Trek sometimes and I'm like, never watched that.
How many times are you going to watch these?
Like I like them.
I don't like them.
I know.
Please don't make me sit next to you
and watch them.
Just go on your computer.
I can't stand them.
I'll sit next to him
and I'll be working.
Yeah.
Yep.
Same, same.
So you have no movies you hate?
I don't know if there's a movie
that comes to mind
that I'm like,
I hated that one
because I've never had to sit
through something.
Like,
I tried to watch Avatar,
but I was home.
So I, like, got up and walked.
Because that's three hours.
Hey, listen, they heard that was a huge flop.
Was it?
That's what I heard.
No, no, the one where they were all blue people.
Yeah, there's two of them.
There's a new one that just came out.
That's huge.
Yeah, the first one.
The first one was a flop, they said.
No, I think it's the opposite.
They spent a lot of money on it.
Oh, really?
Oh, maybe they didn't make the money.
They didn't make the money, yeah.
Okay.
It's three hours. But now it's very popular. of money on it. Oh, really? They didn't make the money. It's three hours.
But now it's very popular.
And everyone loves it.
We watched it on the cruise ship, the second one.
Oh, really?
It was alright.
I wasn't super impressed.
I just would rather talk to people.
Not your age group, Sarah.
Yeah, I'd rather talk to people, too.
Or talk to myself. Not your age group, Sarah. Yeah, I'd rather talk to people too. Or talk to myself.
Or myself, yeah.
Or work or do something fun.
Oh my gosh.
Talia, do you hate any movies?
What do you hate?
I do not like the movie Cars, any of them.
It just really makes me mad.
What makes you mad?
That's fine.
There's funny TikToks of it. But I just can't watch the movies. What makes you mad okay that's fine what makes there's funny tiktoks of it but i just
can't watch the movies like what makes you mad about it it's just dumb to me i just don't get
like why it's like ratatouille's not dumb no look at her face what are you talking about
dare you okay i'm just wondering the difference because there's love in ratatouille oh right okay
she just leaves the love story in cars not Not enough. It's not human though.
A mouse is.
No, the guy and the girl.
The humans in Ratatouille are the ones that
Yeah. Okay, but
Beauty and the Beast? Oh, just kidding.
He's human
in the end.
Let's not go down that road.
Okay, Sarah, what about you? I'll get some flack for this but I will watch
the movie
it's like a love hate I guess
but Titanic
I was just going to say I like Titanic
I don't like it
listen Rose
there was plenty of room
on that raft for Jack too
that is frustrating so i hate
it for that reason okay alone okay i get that i wasn't like i was when i went and saw it like
everybody's crying and i'm just sitting here going oh my gosh hope don't you know that what happens
i mean come on you walk into the theater you're like we already know what happened to the titanic
yeah i know like literally people are tom's crying. His friend is crying.
I'm like, quit your crying.
Come on. I don't cry.
Like, it could be a very sad movie.
Like, Private Ryan. I mean, people are dying
left and right. And I'm like...
If it's a dog dying, if it's an animal
dying... I don't understand that at all.
I don't cry. Because I literally am like,
it's not really happening to these people.
It's true. Okay, so I'm not going to cry over these people.
It's not real.
Yeah, you're too like logical about it.
Yeah, I'm not doing it.
But I don't cry a lot anyway.
It's rare.
Yeah.
It's very rare.
I cry every day.
You cry every day?
No way.
A little bit every day.
Liquid tears.
You don't liquid tears.
Liquid prayer.
Like if I'm praying, I'll cry.
If I listen to a worship song, I'll cry.
It's not always like sad crying.
No, I know.
There's happy tears.
I understand.
There's definitely some season for tears.
Yeah, but even in my happiest of moments to my saddest, I don't cry.
Yeah, you're different.
But my mom didn't cry.
My mom's not a big cry.
I've seen you get like welled up. Oh, God. big guy like well god yeah i think maybe you go you like
maybe you hold it back oh i 100 there will be times like if it's a god thing like
yeah there was uh there was a thing um when i was talking about talia and what would happen with her
and i could feel myself being moved because it was such a God thing and how
Tracy stepped into that and like saw her role.
That's all God.
Like to me,
that's like such a Holy spirit.
I call those gospel moments with my kids.
That's a Holy spirit putting things together and nobody can deny that.
Right.
And so for me,
I'm just moved by how precious the Lord loves us.
And like in those moments, like you would think that the Lord who created heaven and earth, we could care less about somebody walking through a difficult time with acne.
Right.
But that's as important to him as his creation.
Because we are his creation. And I just sit there and go, we're so like, we really should be so insignificant.
But with him, we are so significant that he sent his own son.
Right.
I know.
To me, that is so like overwhelming and so mind boggling that I can't sometimes even fathom it.
Which brings me to beingling that I can't sometimes even fathom it, which brings me to being almost
where I can cry because I'm just like, you love me that much.
And even in spite of the times where I don't reciprocate it, you still love me that much.
Exactly.
How unworthy.
I know.
And then he makes you worthy.
And it's just mind-blowing that something, and people reject him all the time.
Yeah.
They reject him all the time, even though all of this is for us.
It's just, those are the things that, yes, I have to shut her down, girl.
Because that stuff, I could cry on it. When it comes to God, God stuff, yeah, I'm a big old mush.
But for the most part, no.
I don't know why.
I think life, like, if you go down certain roads through life,
they kind of, like, beat you up a little bit.
And you're like, nobody's getting that from me.
They're not getting that much from me, you know.
So you just protect yourself.
You guard your heart.
And then you're safe.
And I think that's part.
For me, that's part of my thing.
It's like only special people, only the very special people get that special side of me.
I'm not giving that to just anybody. I hear you. So nobody, nobody has the authority to
have that much of my emotion. Does that make sense? Absolutely. It does. And that's how it
should be. I believe it really should be that way. I think a lot of people give themselves
too much, too early, too freely. And then they live, then they open themselves up to a world of hurt when Jesus only really had three very close friends,
but he picked 12 and one betrayed him.
And everybody else really pretty much walked away,
but he was smart enough to know,
I'm going to be wise in what I choose.
So I just think that we allow ourselves
to be used and abused too much.
And I ain't the one.
It ain't going to happen.
I'm just not doing it.
I like myself too much.
I seriously, and I mean that sincerely,
I like myself too much to allow people to do that to me.
And I think everybody should really know their value
so that they don't allow that to happen to them.
Because I think if we did, should really know their value so that they don't allow that to happen to them. Right.
Because I think if we did, then, you know, our families wouldn't crap on us.
Our friends wouldn't talk any kind of way to us or treat us.
And then our marriages would look very different.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They really would.
So she's really important.
But I digress.
If you don't know Jesus, does anybody want to say anything else?
No, that was really good.
Sarah, you got something to say, sister?
Nope.
I know you're a crier.
I know you're a crier.
But do you think because of life and some of the things you've gone through,
do you think that you don't like,
do you think you're like a pushover?
You let people,
cause you don't like,
I mean,
I'm praying.
I've been praying to be more compassionate because I,
the Holy spirit showed me that a lot of times before Jesus did anything,
before he healed people,
before he did big miracles,
it says like he had compassion on them.
And I'm not by nature compassionate at all.
And so I've been praying for compassion and more to just like have the heart of God that like I want people to be saved and I want to see God's best for them.
And so I've also found that if I build, cause I have built up lots of walls, but when you build up those walls too much, then you're not only keeping people out, but you kind
of, you're in a prison yourself.
For me anyway, it's been like, if I break down some of those walls.
Because there's a balance to everything.
There is.
There is a balance to everything.
And you, you, the thing is, is in order to minister to people, you have to be able to
love them and not allow them to have a power over you.
They hurt and offend you.
Yeah.
And there's a healthiness to that.
Yeah.
So that you can have compassion to them, but you can't allow people to have such authority over you that you're because this is one of the things that I love about Jonathan.
And I think that I'm very similar to him.
I think he is.
I think he sees what God has called him to do.
He has the compassion to walk in it.
He has the authority to walk in it.
But one thing that he doesn't allow anybody to ever do to him
is their words or how they treat him or how they behave to him
will not affect him in the slightest way.
It's not going to change him.
You're not going to change his personality.
You're not going to change what God has called him to do. You're not going to change him. You're not going to change his personality. You're not going to change what God has called him to do. You're not going to make him, you're not going to sway
him. He'll laugh if you try and bust on him. If you try and take him down some notches, he's going
to laugh. He's going to be like, that's like, I'm Teflon, dude. It's not happening. That's what I'm
saying we need to be. That's where I, because you can, everything is balanced. Everything. Listen,
I don't think when I hear the voice tell me,
like there have been,
I was telling the girls this just the other day,
there are literally people that walk in
and the Lord specifically tells me all about them.
In order for that to happen,
in order for me to be able to hear those things,
then first of all,
I've had to put the time in with the Holy Spirit.
But second of all,
I have to love that person enough to be able to hear about them,
to be able to either not tell them what God's telling me,
but to be able to pray for them, to help them spiritually,
the spiritual warfare to get them to the other side, whatever it is.
But I'm not going to allow them to have any authority over me, make me cry.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Because you can have all of those things without walking through the mulligrubs of everything that they me, do you know what I'm saying? Because you can have all of those things without walking through the mullet grubs
of everything that they have.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Absolutely.
So there is a balance to it.
But I think for you, getting to that place will be faster than you even think, Sarah.
I really do.
And I think it's healthier that sometimes, I think it's sometimes harder for people
that wear their heart on their sleeves or their emotions.
They carry their emotions.
I think it's harder sometimes for them to be able to like,
be able to guard all of that.
Cause we are to guard our hearts.
We aren't to be it.
We aren't to give everything away.
Like we're not to cast our pearls to swine.
So like,
I think sometimes it's harder if you're one to be like this,
to be able to go, hold up.
Right.
Hold up.
I'm going to give you me, but I determine how much of me you get.
Right.
And that's based on what the Holy Spirit tells me I'm supposed to get.
Right.
And I think it's very hard for people that are very feelings oriented
to be able to learn that.
I know with Tom it was.
Yeah.
Because he's a very sensitive person. So it's been very difficult for him to be able to learn that. I know with Tom it was. Yeah. Because he's a very sensitive person.
So it's been very difficult for him to be able to say,
I am going to control that sensitivity
and not allow my heart to be given to everybody.
Smart.
Yeah, it is.
But he never faced life.
Like he didn't walk through things like I walked through.
And I think the world, I think it goes both ways.
You got to learn to, if you're a sensitive person, you have to learn to not be so sensitive.
But if you're a hard person, you have to learn to be soft.
Right.
But I think becoming soft is way easier than becoming harder.
I really do.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
Yeah, it does.
I don't know.
I might be wrong about that, but I don't know. No, I yeah that makes sense yeah it does i don't know i might be wrong about that but
i don't know no i think that makes sense because i've never really been that feelings much of a
feelings person anyway but to have to like not i know you like that would be hard for me i would
think that that would be very hard yeah like like a vanessa how do you tell a vanessa yeah do you
know what she cries at the sunsets is what she said yeah lots of people
are like this i know lots of people who can cry at the drop of a hat how do you teach them
okay stop crying i know i so i used to be a crier like my whole life i would cry all the time yes
i've never been like that i know and so i'd walk i'd go to worship i'd cry i'm like these people
everybody's gonna think something's wrong with me because I'm always crying. And then all of a sudden it just like turned off
and it's more like, but it's helped me like be harder and then have course correction and not
feel bad that I'm being hard on people. Like I, so I, I really relate to what you're saying
because I'm actually in a season of being harder now, not crying as much. And I'm not,
not trying to cry. I'm just like, it's like almost a level of self-control for me as a softer person. And people probably don't even know that about me. Cause it's
been since I've come here. I've, I don't, I've really cried a lot since I've come here. But
the thing is, is for me, like if there's a good worship song that comes on, I can drop, I can cry
at the drop of a hat. Like I'm wiping away the tears. I'm like, I'm open to the Holy Spirit for
whatever he has. But, but before it used to be like any, I'd walk in and I I'm like, I'm open to the Holy Spirit for whatever he has.
But before it used to be like any, I'd walk in and I'd be like, oh, and I just start bawling.
Like not like, not just like, oh, this is no, like I'd be like bawling my eyes out, like hyperventilating crying just because I'm like, it's just too overwhelming. Like his presence
is too overwhelming right now. And then I, like I, you know know I started building up whatever that is to be able to like
lay hands and not fall out too you know like you just kind of build up that literally have to be
like that you do you do yeah you're gonna lay hands on people if you're falling down yourself
you can't lead and follow right yeah it doesn't work like that on the ground yeah right but but
again it goes back to, it's a balance.
It is.
And you learn that balance.
But there's obviously the Holy Spirit's telling you something.
Yeah.
And he's preparing you for something.
Right.
Because he's told all of us this.
You have to learn it.
When I first got saved, though, man, I'm telling you, I was a wet noodle.
I cried over everything when I first got saved.
Yeah.
Because I was so grateful. I was like, oh, thank you, Jesus, you let me come back. I know. I cried over everything when I first got saved because I was so grateful. I was like,
oh, thank you, Jesus. You let me come back. I was a mess. Yeah. And true repentance comes with
sorrow, I think, too. So as you're being pruned, there's a lot of that, too. I was so grateful.
I think I was very remorseful, very responsible for my actions. I like took a great, I like literally was like, this is all your fault.
You put yourself in all this.
But I was just so dang grateful.
Like I felt like the prodigal son.
Yeah.
I mean, when I read that story, sometimes it's still,
I can well up with tears when I read the prodigal son because I'm like,
that was you.
Yeah.
That was you, girl.
And thank God.
Right.
I'm back.
I know. You know? I'm back it's just amazing
but yeah I've
had moments where I cried but
not really like
when you hear everything but I think everybody's
different and I think you gotta find your path
I think you have to be obedient whatever he tells you to do
and then just embrace
it all grow with it and enjoy
every daggum moment cause there's something
special about every time he takes you to the next level or the next place,
there's something beautiful about it.
I know.
I know.
It really is.
I know.
It's whether you, you know, people despise small beginnings.
You should embrace whatever beginning you're in.
Or wherever, if you're in the middle of it or whatever.
Don't despise things.
Just embrace them and love them and then just grow in them.
It's a great thing.
So love you guys.
We're going to see you on Sunday.
If you don't know Jesus, come and find me on Sunday.
I'm going to lead you to him.
Or you can send me a message and I actually will reach out to you
and I will do it personally with you.
So have a great day and And have a good weekend.
And see you on Sunday.
Bye. Bye.
Bye.
Bye.
Real talk.
Real talk.
Real talk. Thanks for watching! you you
