Real talk.
Real talk.
Real talk.
Real talk.
And welcome to the Hope Hotline.
I don't know who God is told to build the arc, but please let us know.
Give us a call because we're ready to enter in.
Oh my gosh.
It's ridiculous.
The rain.
Like my pool is overflowing for days now.
My chickens have learned to do the backstroke.
Oh my gosh.
Cause like it's worse than like, what was that?
Helene and Melton out there right now.
It's a lot.
Without the wind.
It's a lot of rain.
And it's not even over saturated yet.
So you'd think that like we had room for this.
No.
Really?
Well, okay, that's great in Venice.
Maybe that's where the Ark is being built.
Like it's coming up from the bottom,
like it did in Noah's day and down from the top.
Exactly.
Oh my gosh.
It is something else out there.
I will tell you, when I learned,
when I actually slowed down and read scripture
and I realized that the flood didn't just happen
from the rain from the bottom,
but it actually came from the ground up too.
Like it was like water was coming from the ground.
It was.
I was like, hold up, wait a minute.
Exactly, like what's that? I was like, hold up, wait a minute. Exactly, like what's that?
I was like, that makes complete sense to me now.
Me too.
Cause before I was like, that's a lot of what,
how did they not know?
Right.
But it, but seriously, that makes a lot of sense.
Slow down, read.
Makes all the difference in the world.
It really does.
Don't you love when the words in the Bible mean what they say?
It's amazing. Like when it says like rich, it means like wealthy. Like it
actually means what it says. Oh yeah. Isn't that so cool? Well, apparently
somebody's got to be in their bonnet about prosperity or something. Am I wrong?
No, you're not wrong. Something must have happened. Somebody must want to be poor.
Yeah.
A lot of people.
Yeah.
I feel like people think it's more righteous.
If you're poor.
If you're poor or you're like, you know, struggling.
Yeah.
You know what I find so flipping amazing about that?
First of all, Jesus, even though,
when Jesus walked the earth, he didn't have a job.
Right. Okay. Well, he did, when Jesus walked the earth, he didn't have a job.
Okay, well he did, because ministry was his job.
If you think about this,
he had women who gave to his ministry.
He had a purse that had money in it,
that there was a treasure, which the treasure was stealing.
If there's nothing in there, you can't be stealing,
so you're not too poor.
But he became poor so that we might be rich, right?
So he did have money.
He could multiply fish and loaves with leftovers.
He went to pay taxes out of a fish's mouth.
And yet people wanna be poor.
Right.
When he, in every aspect of life multiplied.
And people wanna live in the negative.
Yeah. I don't get it.
Make it make sense.
It never will because for me, I'm like,
and Tom has said this before, but I literally wonder how in the world
do you think by looking like the world
and having nothing to offer the world
makes the world want what you have?
Right, right.
I do not get it.
You talk, you look, you act like the world
and that makes you righteous. No, it doesn't, because Jesus, you act like the world. And that makes you righteous.
No, it doesn't, because Jesus didn't look like that.
In fact, if people actually read the clothing that he had
and he wore, it was the best of the best.
Why would they want it?
Why would they gamble for it?
There you go.
That's exactly what he's gonna say, Sarah.
If it was crap.
And he was wrapped in linen.
And at his very.
With no hems.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's good.
So his clothes were the best and the finest,
and yet we bash people for buying quality things.
Right.
When Jesus did not walk around like he was a ragamuffin.
Because people don't read their word.
No, they don't.
And they don't study it out.
And OK, well, for me, I'm like, go ahead and be poor.
Right.
And ain't going to be me.
Right.
And that's usually where I leave it off,
is like, if that's how you want to believe.
But have you read the verses?
Like, did you read the context?
But here's the problem.
It's usually not the poor people who believe this way.
It's the people who actually have some kind of money
and the money that they've created has been
their own provision, not God's provision.
So therefore, their mindset is a poverty mindset
all the while they actually have money.
I've seen that a lot.
And I'm like, I see it all the time, but here's the thing.
Who's your source?
What's gonna happen to you when maybe the well runs dry,
whatever business you're involved in,
like maybe you have a really great paying job.
Maybe you own a business.
What if the business goes out of business
or maybe you get laid off from your job?
Who's gonna be your source?
It ain't gonna be you no more.
So you better find out who is your source
and you better find out that his plan
was to make you prosperous.
So that when you don't make it anymore,
you can still know that you're not supposed to be poor.
For me, I'm like, the rationale of the whole entire thing
is ludicrous.
It is, and like some people will say it like takes away
from like Jesus.
Like just focus on Jesus.
Just focus who cares about money, who cares about this.
But what like, but that's also part of the gospel.
Like this is where it's always it's part of the three things.
Exactly.
Right.
Even if you want to live off of like a certain amount, why don't you make more and then give
everything else away?
Right.
Well, my thing is, is if you only want to make a certain amount,
you're still obligated by the word to give at least 10%.
Right.
Mm-hmm. Yep.
And if you want to be poor and you feel like it's more righteous to not be, you know, wealthy.
Right.
Or live above your means,
then just start giving it away. Don't make more, just give it all away.
That's never gonna happen though.
These people, they have to live in their nice homes.
They have to buy their certain quality clothing.
They all dress nice, they look nice,
they carry a certain air about them, but God forbid.
Tell that to somebody who wants what they have,
but is going to do it the Christ way
instead of the me way.
Like provision is, and I was saying that it's like,
I knew a person who wanted to get married
and she was like in her thirties,
like she was living with her mother.
She was like 40 years old.
And I remember I was like 20 something years old.
And I said, no, I wasn't, I was like 17.
And I said to her, and she
was a Christian, I'm like, well why don't you like, do you go out on dates or like what
do you do? Like if you want to meet somebody, and this is the hell you and me at this time,
because I was 18, 19, so I was out there. And I was like, okay, so you're a Christian, you're 40, you're living with your mother.
I mean, she looked very matronly.
And I said to her, I'm like, so you wanna meet somebody,
how are you gonna do that?
I'm like, all she did was go to church
and her church was super tiny, right?
But I'm like, and I wasn't telling her to go to a bar
or something to meet somebody, but I'm just like,
you gotta put yourself out there.
And I said, do you, are you like, and I was being funny,
but I said, would you expect the man of your dreams
to come and just knock on your door?
And she was like, yes, yes I do.
And I'm like, okay, I'm not saying, like that's insanity.
Okay, people who are wanting more,
like you have, there are principles that you have to apply.
So if you are not living at the level of which you want,
first of all, I would say,
are you paying your tithes and giving offerings?
Second of all, I would say to that question is like,
what are you trying to do?
And what are like, be creative.
Like, God gave, maybe God gave you an idea.
Maybe you need to create something and have it patented.
And then that's the way, like, God will give you ideas
and dreams and all these different things.
Now what are you gonna do with it?
You can't like that girl, just sit there
and wait for somebody to knock on your door.
Like you have to take some initiative.
Some people, you might have to learn to grind.
Maybe you do something, you have your job in the daytime
and you and your spouse or whatever,
you guys like start thinking of different ways
and different things that you can ministerially do.
And invest in that way.
And God will bless you for that.
I mean, there's all different things,
but to just sit there and go, okay, God,
that's not necessarily the right way to think about it too.
I mean, you might have to step outside of that stuff,
but I don't know.
A lot of times for me, the people who have a lot to say
about the prosperity message isn't necessarily the ones
that are, they're already walking in prosperity,
but they have a bash.
And I love, you've heard Jonathan tell the story
about the woman who was bashing prosperity
sitting in first class right next to him.
Yep.
And he's like, you're prosperous.
Why is it okay for the world to be prosperous
and not a Christian?
And she kind of had to be like,
and that's how Christians think, just like the world.
Everybody needs to check themselves before they get wrecked.
Crazy.
Enough about that.
The rain stopped, so I must be ranting enough.
What did you guys say?
When you were little, like they would say the angels
in heaven were bowling or something like that.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh, I was just gonna say that.
My dad would tell me that every now and then.
So please, please stop bowling up in heaven.
The lightning would be them taking a picture.
The thunder would be them bowling. And. The thunder would be them bowling.
And the rain would be God showering.
There's like dirty water.
That's a lot of water.
That's a big shower.
Okay, it's like good.
Yeah, it's good.
That's nice.
Yeah, oh my gosh.
Please stop bowling.
Stop showering.
Cause I was like terrified.
All right, do your thing girl.
Hey dude, were you able to get that one thing?
Yeah, I have to do it when we're live.
Cause I got to click the live stream.
Is that how that works?
Well, if we want to do live stream views.
So I'm trying different things and you don't need
an account, so you just have to do it in the moment.
Oh, interesting.
I think it's working.
Okay, worst case scenario, we work on it next time.
This is a me and her conversation
that we're having in front of everybody.
It's a see your way out.
Yeah.
Just kidding.
I love that.
Just kidding, just kidding.
I usually say this is A and B conversation.
See your way out of it.
I always say see ya.
Oh, see ya.
I know.
I never heard see your way out.
I've never heard see ya, but that makes sense.
See your way out. Here comes the rain.
All right, well, that's okay, I'll be back in two seconds.
Yes, you will.
Yes, you will.
All right, so anyways, if you are live on Rumble,
hello to all of our people.
Oh, there's Aaron.
Aaron, I was just gonna text you.
I was like, he's probably busy,
but I figured it out anyways.
He pulled up this very important link in Safari.
I don't use Safari, Erin.
He said, duh, I'm in Brave, because I'm a patriot.
So anyways.
No, you're a Mac.
No, I know.
But I think Brave is better than Safari.
I do not agree.
Well, I don't either anymore, but I did,
and now I'm stuck to it.
So anyways, but I figured it out.
So anyways, if you're watching on Rumble,
hi Erin and Talia sitting right next to me,
and Marie, who else is on, Sarah sitting right next to me.
Hey to everybody that's watching,
there's some more of you,
so just say hello in the live chat,
we'd love to see you.
And then if you're on Facebook,
you can also say hello in the live chat
if you want to come over to Rumble, Talia already dropped the link for you.
If you're on YouTube, feel free to hang out there.
But also if you want to jump over to Rumble, there'll be a live chat where you can kind
of engage in all these conversations going on.
If you want to send over your questions, we would love to hear from you.
Send your questions in to askhope at hopehotline.com.
You can send them in any other way.
You know, obviously there's direct messages
on all the social media sites,
but it is easier if you just send it in there.
And I know you guys always have questions.
You just need to send them in.
We just need you to send them in, that's all.
So do that for us.
We'd love to hear from you.
Hope is on TikTok.
So make sure you go and follow her.
And she is, she's in 191.
I'm literally gonna change this graphic
so that you can't see her followers.
But yeah, so it's slow and steady.
Because it changes every day.
I'm like the turtle.
I know.
Slow and steady.
But it's going up, up and up, up and up.
So follow her, heyitshope01,
and then also the Hope Potline.
You wanna follow us over there as well.
And just a reminder, in July, so next month,
cause it is the fourth today, so in about a month from now,
Nick Hanson is going to be coming onto the Hope Potline,
so you will not wanna miss that.
It's gonna be great.
He is a wealth of knowledge, especially in this world.
So if you have any questions about cars
or anything like that,
or like anything you'd want to know about,
I think he might be sharing his testimony as well.
So.
Which is of, I mean, listen, it's a crazy testimony.
It is, it is.
That is good, man.
I know.
So that, and it'll be really encouraging.
So, hey, if you want to grab your husbands
for these ones too,
I think they'll be really encouraged
and just make sure you don't miss it.
It's gonna be a good time.
Natalie will be back at some point in the near future.
I'm not sure next month is,
well, the end of this month through July
is just gonna be a little bit different.
We'll get a calendar up for you guys
so you can kind of see what's going on.
Tell everybody why. Okay, well, because it's the 4th of July, is just gonna be a little bit different. We'll get a calendar up for you guys so you can kind of see what's going on.
Tell everybody why.
Okay, well, because it's the 4th of July,
Hope has a phone call.
Because I'm going to Massachusetts also.
So, but-
That's the main reason, she's in and out for a while.
Yeah, but we have our trusty Heather
coming in clutch as always.
But yeah, we'll have to pop back in.
It's kind of back and forth.
So a couple of weeks in July, we'll be back to normal.
And then we go to fire week in August.
So and then my mom has a VBS.
So I'm going to go up and help her this year for that.
But at some point, I know, I'll tell you,
Norma helped one year.
It was really fun.
But yeah, Natalie will be back at some point. I'll get the'll tell you, Norma helped one year, it was really fun. But yeah, Natalie will be back at some point,
I'll get the date back up once we figure that out.
But in the meantime, if you have questions,
anything medical, I actually just saw another random thing
already that I wanted to ask her about.
So start the list, let's get these questions rolling.
If you're on Instagram, you can follow us over there.
And if you want any of our merch,
foundationchurchfl.com, click on shop,
or join us on Sunday at church and then buy your own merch
and you can walk out with it in hand.
Instant satisfaction.
Sweet.
Yes.
Love it.
That's it.
All right.
So we have Sarah back with us.
I don't know if everybody can see her
because of Vanessa's hair.
Usually Vanessa's hair is hiding her. A wore bright red shirt and bright red lipstick.
And she's got her lips going today.
Because normally she wears black
and she blends right into the wall.
She needs Erin's chair.
Yeah.
Black shirt, black hair.
Yeah.
And then you got Vanessa's hair.
I know.
Then she totally misses her.
Everybody would kill for your hair, Vanessa.
So don't you even worry about it, girl.
Don't even.
That's a compliment.
It is, it is.
With this much hair on my head,
there's also a lot of hair everywhere else.
Yeah.
Okay.
Oh my gosh.
Oh my.
I thought you were going to say that.
Me either.
Oh my gosh. So. Legs, armpits, you know. Oh my gosh. Oh my. I thought you were going. Me either. Oh my gosh.
So.
Legs, arm heads, you know.
Oh my gosh.
So listen, I think it was, I can't remember.
I'm gonna try and paraphrase it, but Brittany is so funny.
Yeah.
She's Puerto Rican, right?
And so she looked great the other day at church
or whatever, and she's walking out with her new boyfriend.
The only guy that ever met that she's dated,
but she's walking out with her boyfriend,
but she's, I said something about her hair
and something else, and she said something,
she says, listen, I'm a hairy Sasquatch
or something like that, I'm Puerto Rican.
Hair everywhere.
She's like everywhere.
It's true.
I was like, oh my gosh.
And I was like right in front of her boyfriend
and he's new, right?
Yeah.
I'm like, well, she can handle that.
You can pretty much handle anything.
Exactly.
TMI.
It is what it is.
It is what it is, I know.
So don't be jealous.
No, Dora goes, what am I?
You ain't Puerto Rican girl.
She goes, no.
You have no excuse.
She goes, I'm just Harry.
Just Harry.
I blame your father.
Okay.
She goes, I do too.
I do too.
That's so funny. That is funny.
When she came out though, she was hairy.
Her back had lower hair and everything.
I was, aw, poor thing.
Why didn't everything else leave?
Well, I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Genetics.
Yeah, I wish my arm hurt.
I mean, some little girls, some baby girls
that come out with hair on their shoulders,
all down their back.
That was my Emma.
I called her my little monkey.
Oh.
Yeah, I don't know why that is.
And then it just falls out.
Why is that?
I wish I had Natalie here right now.
Chat-chip-y-day, got it.
Emma's hair didn't fall out.
She is still my little hairy monkey.
She's still.
I asked.
Emma's gonna kill her mother. She is still my little hairy monkey. She's so. She's still. She's still. She's still.
She's still.
Emma's gonna kill her mother.
She's not hairy now.
Yeah, her back is very fuzzy.
Oh my gosh.
Very fuzzy.
She doesn't look hairy.
No.
Very thin now.
Yeah.
There's nothing you can do about it.
I mean, what are you gonna do?
Yeah.
I wax every hair.
Yeah.
Normal waxes.
Her ponytail is this thick.
I wax every ass of my body.
Oh my gosh.
My arm hair and everything else.
Poor men who are watching this right now.
It's true though.
Oh my gosh.
Gotta like make it a family affair when you're hairy.
All right, let's do the first question.
This is like, this first question is really good,
but I, you know, I never, when I read this question,
I was like, or when I saw this question, I was like,
that probably, this probably is a lot of,
what a lot of people think when Tom says something,
it says, pastor Tom says when he's preaching
that Jesus wouldn't be welcomed in most churches
or that church boards wouldn't hire him
to be the church pastor
because Jesus isn't Christ-like enough for their church.
What does Pastor Tom mean by that?
You know, I bet you,
you know how many people probably wonder
what the heck is he talking about?
Or are you, somebody's like, Kelly, are you,
why are you thinking, is that something you've wondered?
No?
Oh, so you can follow his brain.
Well, here's the thing, like,
do you think that most people are wondering that, girls?
I think I wouldn't have understood that
if I went to an arch church all my life.
Right.
And just started coming here.
I literally am like- Or didn't ever come to a church. Or didn't come to a church, my life. Right. And just started coming here. I literally am like.
Or didn't ever come to a church.
Or didn't come to a church, that's true too.
Yeah, like totally unchurched.
Totally unchurched, yeah, that makes sense too.
But if you went to like,
if you grew up in a different denomination
or an associated or related churches,
like that would make complete sense to me
that you'd be like,
I don't know what you're talking about.
Until you've heard him preach for a while
and you're sitting there going,
oh, because this is diametrically different
from what I grew up in,
but until then you don't know what the heck he's saying.
Right, yeah, right.
Sarah?
Lay it on me, baby.
I know what he means. I know you know what he means.
I know you do.
Like, do you think that other people have not?
Because I literally was like, that makes sense that people might not.
But do you disagree?
I mean, a lot of people are not that smart.
So I guess maybe.
But it seems like a very the way that he explains it
should make sense to the lay person,
to the norm, regular person.
I don't think he really explains it.
The real Jesus is not who you think he is.
Yeah, I think it depends how much you've come.
If you've been here for a while, like you were saying,
Hope, he explains it differently each time,
so maybe you get it after hearing it so many times.
But if you're new, you might be like,
what does that even mean?
I don't think he even explains it.
I'm with Kelly.
He talks about the bongo playing, hot smoking.
But that's sometimes not even in the same,
he doesn't even say that in the same thing of like,
he'll just say something about the Bible.
And then when he's talking about Jesus,
like the whip of cords and he's talking about Jesus, like the whip of cords, and he says,
the real Jesus, you know, like if people,
if Jesus was to apply for a job,
like, and I sit there and I know what he means by that,
but when this person asks this question,
I'm like, well, that makes sense.
Yeah.
That, for me, I was like thinking,
well, I know what he means by that,
but if you're, I'm like, well, I guess if you went to
an all grace, all loving, like you can do anything you want
to and still go to heaven and Jesus doesn't whip,
like, and everyone saved, like you wouldn't,
you wouldn't know what he means by that
because that would be the Jesus you know.
Until you start hearing him preach
and then you're like, oh, okay.
But if initially you probably wouldn't.
Like what he was saying on Sunday,
like that, that youth, that worship leader who is like,
I can't believe.
And I was shocked that that worship leader was saying,
I can't believe that you said Jesus with people.
I'm like, it says it in the Bible that he took on.
I'm like, how do you not know this?
How long have you been attending
that you feel that way?
Yeah.
That's true.
I don't know.
Yeah.
It's pretty wild.
Yeah.
So let me explain it to you.
Perfect.
What he means by that is a lot of times,
what is taught and preached in the church
is like back in the day, it's a pharisaic,
which you probably don't even know what I mean by that.
Hold on, I gotta rethink this.
Yeah, you can do it.
I don't.
I mean by that, hold on, I gotta rethink this. Yeah, you can do it.
I don't.
Churches today are basically doctrinal.
And what I mean by doctrinal is like,
a man created a doctrine of a belief system
for that denomination.
The Baptists have a doctrine,
Assemblies of God have a doctrine,
Church of God has a doctrine,
Episcopalian, Catholic, Presbyterian,
all of them have a doctrine,
and it was all made up by man.
And then you're probably saying,
well, what's your doctrine?
We don't have one.
We literally have what we believe,
but there's no doctrine behind it. We're not under
any kind of denomination. We preach and teach strictly the Word of God. That's it. With not
man's interpretation of what that means or leaving out scripture that would disprove what that man
actually said that scripture means. Does that make sense, ladies?
Yeah.
Religions, most religions, if not all religions,
I can't think of one religion that's not manmade.
Can you guys tell me of one religion that's not manmade?
I don't know of any that aren't made by,
wasn't created by a man or a woman.
Like even Scientology and things like that,
they're all manmade.
Well, the Pharisees did the same thing.
What they did is they took the 10 commandments
and the Levitical law and they twisted it and distorted it
when it wasn't convenient for what they wanted to believe.
That's what
doctrines are and churches are today. And what Jesus did is he basically came in
on the scene and the reason why he was hated so much was he came in and he
destroyed what the Pharisees and the Sadducees were preaching and teaching, when it went against what the Levitical law was saying should be done.
And that ticked them off, and that's one of the reasons why they wanted to kill him,
because he was walking in power, he was healing the sick, he was very popular,
he was actually taking authority from them, popularity from them. And in churches today, really what
churches today is made up is how many people can you get, how many butts and
seats you can get, and how much money can you bring in. It's not the...so what
happens is in order to do that, you change your theology, you change the Word of God so
that butts stay in seats and money keeps still pouring in. And there's an
acceptance that you receive. You become popular. There's power behind that
popularity. But in order to do that you have to distort and twist who Jesus really is.
He's all loving, all grace-filled Jesus.
Where there's no accountability for your actions,
and there's no punishment or repercussions for wrong that is done.
And when you can live like you want to live and do whatever you want to do and still
have the promises of God, whether it be healing, whether it be prosperity, salvation,
as long as those things have a stamp of approval that you can do whatever you want to do and still
have all these things, you're going to go to that place. But that's not what Jesus says, and that's not what he taught, and that's not what he preached.
And if you did preach those things, and if Jesus actually came into churches,
most churches today who are preaching in all encompassing Jesus that embraces every single
thing that you do, whether it is right or wrong, and he came in and he said, no, that's
not what I said, and no, that's not how it works.
Those people that attend those churches would say, I don't like him.
Even though he's the one that is the word, and it's even though he's the one that said
it, they'd be like, no, mm-mm. My pastor says you didn't say that, so you didn't say it. And that's how it would be.
And he would not be popular and he'd be rejected just like he was to his own people,
his own Jewish people, because those Jewish people chose to believe the Pharisees and the Sadducees
over the very man that actually is the word.
Does that make sense?
Do you guys agree, disagree?
Can you add anything to it?
No, I think that's exactly what Pastor Tom means by it.
And it's sad, but I think we look at scripture,
like Old Testament scripture,
and we're like, I can't believe they did that,
like all these stories,
like how could David have like, you know, this thing?
How could the Israelite, like, but we're just as bad.
Like if we really turn the lens back on us, like,
so why is this so out there that there's churches
that wouldn't accept the real Jesus?
My thing is, is like, even if you think about it,
there's repercussions for everything, right?
And people say, well, this is the Old Testament example.
We have the New Testament, but I could tell you stories in the New Testament that would back up what I'm saying.
But if Moses himself was not allowed to go into the promised land because he wasn't obedient to the Lord and what the Lord told him to do.
How is it that you don't think that your disobedience isn't going
to have some kind of repercussion for it? Right. Right. But in the churches today
it's basically like come as you are and say this little thing and yeah hang out
with us. You know what story puts the fear of the Lord in me is in the New Testament. The couple, I always get there.
Yeah, Ananias and Sapphira.
They dropped dead.
100% as a doornail.
Yeah, and that's New Testament, guys.
That is.
For lying and stealing.
Right.
Which people lie and steal every day and they think,
and they believe that adultery and murder is worse. Right.
Bull, loony.
Right.
Right.
People drop dead for lying and stealing.
Yeah.
It's a big deal.
It is a big deal.
But lying today, nobody thinks a bit about it.
I can totally see Jesus walking into today's churches
with a whip and whipping his people.
They're his people.
Yeah.
But like, yeah.
I mean, if you look at Corinth,
the church of Corinth, right?
And they had a man sleeping with his father's wife.
And he was told,
expel the wicked man from among you
so that he can come back and might be saved.
Like that wasn't even like,
most people don't even think anything about it.
Homosexuality is okay.
And a lot of churches.
And I'm not, hey, listen, I don't care if you're gay
and I don't care if you come to Foundation Church.
I would love for you to come to Foundation Church
to be honest with you.
I will love you while you're here,
but we're not going to make you believe
that lifestyle's okay.
Just like I would never let somebody believe
that if they are envious or jealous,
envy and jealousy will send you straight to hell.
And people forget about that.
Like jealousy is a sin.
And people live in it all day long.
People are envious, covetous.
Like if somebody has something that somebody else wants
and they're like, just like, I want that.
Like you're sinning.
Like people don't even think about those things,
but they'll eye the homosexual, they'll eye the adulteral,
they'll eye the murderer or whatever.
And it's like, dude, you're doing the same thing.
It's just different.
Same sin.
I mean, same thing as sin.
Yep. Yep.
For real. Yep.
They never think about it though.
I mean, God is very specific.
And a lot of times churches do not touch on anything,
anything that would cause a ruffled feather.
It's like what the Bible talks about in the New Testament, tickling your ears.
And it doesn't say that, it says that the people will go where their ears are tickled.
Not that it's like you go.
You can't blame anybody. The Word made it very clear.
You can't blame the pastor. You can only blame yourself. The word made it very clear. You can't blame the pastor.
You can only blame yourself because you went there.
The people will go where their ears are tickled.
Meaning you sought it out, you found it,
and you chose to attend it.
So you can only blame yourself.
And Sarah, I know has something to say.
I always know because I can see it on her face.
My favorite is the cowards.
Oh, like the cowardly will not be cowards and still inherit the kingdom of God.
And it's like, no, Revelation 21 8.
The cowardly will not inherit the kingdom of heaven is what it says.
Yeah. And cowardly, the unbelieving.
Yeah. Oh, whoops, the unbelieving and all liars
will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
And that's in Revelation.
So that's as new Testament as you get.
The thing is, is like, it gives you a list of things.
I remember telling Tom this and he's like, holy crap.
But there's a list of things that in the last days,
they'll be great indicators of that were in the last days.
And one of the things was people will not be thankful.
Right, they will not be thankful.
And you need to look at yourself and say,
am I a thankful person?
Because if you're not thankful, you need to like,
that's your warning, that's a warning sign. Like you need to like, that's a warning sign.
Like you need to like wake the heck up.
Something might not be right with you.
Entitlement mentality and not being thankful.
And there's a lot of unthankful people.
Yeah, and only thankful for like,
if something really big happens,
like be thankful for the little things,
like, cause then you're not really thankful. If you're only thankful for like the really big happens, be thankful for the little things, because then you're not really thankful.
If you're only thankful for the really big things
that happen, that's not gratuity.
Yeah, it's not real.
It's just, and you know that.
If you're very sad and you always have a negative attitude,
you're probably not a thankful person.
So funny, I get made fun of in my house
and this isn't trying to be made,
this isn't trying to be about me, but it is kind of funny.
Like I'll like be opening the mail or something like that.
And I'll be like, oh my gosh.
And Tom's thinking, we got a check in the mail.
And I'm like, it's a $5 gift card to something.
He's like, oh my gosh,
you just acted like we got $20,000 in the mail. I'm like,
well, $5 is great. I know. Hey, $5 is $5. It's very true. But it is. It's that heart. It's that heart
posture. Yeah. Oh my gosh. It's the condition of your heart. And if you're thankful for that $5,
you're going to be thankful when you get that 20 grand. 100%.
I literally have gotten lots of money
and a $5 gift card.
And basically my response is pretty much the same
all those times.
Same, yeah.
Same.
And I'm like, oh my gosh.
Yeah.
You know.
That's pretty great. I know, like the small blessings, I feel the most oh my gosh. Yeah. No. That's pretty great.
Like the small blessings, I feel the most seen by God.
Yeah.
It's when he blesses me with like the very insignificant,
but the very small things where I'm like, oh.
Oh.
Special man.
Thank you.
Cause it's like, it's like, he knows the hair on our head.
Yeah. If I care for the sparrow, how much more do I care for you? Exactly. It's like he knows the hair on our head.
If I care for the sparrow, how much more do I care for you?
So like for me, it's like the smaller things are like you,
a lot of times are more significant
because that just shows you how important you are.
Cause he even is into the little details, not just the big whoppers that you important you are. Cause he even is into the little details.
Not just the big whoppers that you think you need.
Like I'll see random hearts everywhere.
And they're usually like something stupid,
like the gum on the ground.
And nobody would appreciate that
cause it's literally gum put on the ground,
but it's literally shaped in a perfect heart.
And every time like, I love you too Jesus.
For me it's sunflowers.
Oh, see. Yeah, when too, Jesus. For me, it's sunflowers. Oh, see?
Yeah.
When we were visiting family in Hungary,
where we were staying, it was situated right
next to a sunflower field.
And every morning, the sunflowers would face the sun.
And then when we would come back from town,
the sunflowers would be facing a completely different direction because they
will only face the sun.
So wherever the sun was, wherever the sun was, they would face.
And that literally just blessed me so much.
And for like an entire year, I saw sunflowers every single day.
And every time I see one now, it's not as often, but I feel like, Oh, God.
That's crazy. I did not know that they chase the sun like that.
They do. Mm hmm. That is incredible.
And that's like one of my favorite flowers. Me too. Oh, my gosh. It's like one of my favorite flowers.
It's just like, does anybody does any of the other peanut gallery want to say anything?
Wow.
I knew it.
I knew it.
But I didn't want to bust her.
I was like, Sarah does, but I'm not going to bust Sarah.
Go ahead, Sarah.
So what about being thankful when it's not a good thing?
Like you're talking about big things and little things, but what if it's a bad thing?
Like what are you talking about in regards to?
We're supposed to be thankful in all circumstances.
And so when something happens that we think is like not good,
being thankful in that as well and rejoicing always.
I think it's 1 Thessalonians 5, 16 through 18
that says rejoice always.
I can't be thankful in all circumstances
for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
People go, oh, I'm not sure what God's will is for my life.
Well, there's the start.
Well, I have to look up what that means
at verse as far as being thankful.
I immediately think of if there's like,
I get stuck in traffic, I'm like, oh, thank you. Oh yeah, yeah.
Like that kind of stuff.
That kind of thing, absolutely.
That's if I stub my toe or something,
instead of other words that may want to come out.
You're like, thank you, Jesus.
I don't think I've done that.
I didn't break something, you know, like.
Yeah.
Always being thankful.
Whenever my flight is delayed,
I always reframe my thoughts so I'm not frustrated.
I'm like, oh, he's just saving me from like,
catastrophe.
Catastrophe, yeah, literally.
The plane going down.
The plane crashing.
The plane crashing.
Oh, we're good.
Everything's fine.
In a bolt of fire.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The lake is just like broken.
Okay.
Yeah, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Like it was like broken. Okay. Yeah.
Okay.
Interesting.
Yeah.
That is, oh, if that's how you mean that that's what you think
that scripture means Sarah, I 100% agree with you.
Like that, yeah.
You have thanks in all circumstances.
So even when there's something that doesn't seem like
you should be thankful for it, you should still be thankful.
I wouldn't. My only, what I'm re- why I'm pausing is like when it comes to sickness, illness and disease.
I'm like, I don't think it can mean in that because there's nothing to be thankful because that's from the evil.
You thank God. You thank God for the healing. Yeah, I can't, well, that would be, yeah,
that you mean for the healing,
but not thanking him for the sickness
because it comes from the evil one.
So for me, I'm like, how does that look?
But no, when you, the way you were saying it,
yeah, I totally get that.
I totally can get what you're saying in that, but yeah.
Well, I think about like, if, for example, like when my dad was in the hospital,
he had a good situation. But while I was in the hospital, I was able to talk to people and
minister to people that I would never have encountered if my dad wasn't in the hospital.
Yeah.
Anything that the enemy meant for evil, God uses for good.
Romans 8 28. Yep. It's that, it's just an attitude. An attitude of thanksgiving. So anything that the enemy meant for evil, God uses for good. And so-
Roman's 828, yep.
It's that, it's just a-
An attitude of Thanksgiving.
It's a heart posture is what it is.
It is.
It's the position of your heart.
It really is.
What?
Literally it makes me like-
Her skin crawls.
It's regurgitates me.
And I know what that means.
I know what that means.
It regurgitates you?
Yeah, it's like a cow chewing its cud
over and over and over again.
It makes me wanna be sick.
Over and over and over again.
I don't know if you're using it in that direction.
I am.
I know what regurgitate means, it's disgusting.
Okay, and that's disgusting to me.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Regurgitating, is that like,
when you see people do that,
when you see people do that, is it?
Grammar's wrong, Normanza, yeah.
Oh, okay, well, okay, my grammar may be wrong, but I know what I'm saying. It's disgusting. It's disgusting to me.
It's like somebody was chewing you up.
Yeah. Okay. No, nobody's chewing me up, but it makes me disgusted. It's disgusting to
me and they love to do it to me because I hate it so much. It's so gross.
I just asked chat GBT,
what is another way to say heart posture?
Okay, let's hear it.
What did they say?
Maybe Hope will like one of these.
Heart attitude.
Oh, no.
You're with me on heart posture.
I don't like any.
I don't like any of that.
Just it's the motive of the heart. The motive, oh that's what we decided.
You like that.
Okay, I'm gonna use that instead.
I'm not, but I like that.
Motive of the heart.
I was about to say some really not nice things about you.
Look at you with self-control.
It wasn't about you guys.
Oh, okay.
But it referred to other people that you sounded like,
so it would've been so insulting.
And I don't wanna name names. Look at you. Because I don't wanna insult other guys. But it referred to other people that you sounded like, so it'd been so insulting. And I don't wanna name names.
Cause I don't wanna insult other people
that might like these people.
No, you cannot insult them.
Norma goes, can I, can I insult them?
No, no you cannot.
All right, let's do the sponsors really quick
and then let us move on to the next question.
And listen, like I know that sometimes people are like,
I know about your sponsors, but I'm just telling you,
at some point you might need one of them.
You may not need them now,
but you might need them in the future.
And quality, quality people and quality, quality businesses,
like you'd be shocked at the number of reasons you need an
appraisal. You, you know, we all know why we need a mechanic and none of us have a
good one most of the time, thank God I do, but most people don't have an honest
one. And an appraisal, until you need one, you don't realize how much you need an
honest one. Just telling you. So it's super important. Real Estate Appraisal
Associates of Southwest Florida, Inc Inc is owned by Laura Keller.
Quality person, love her.

There are many reasons to get one.
First, when you sell your home it removes any
concern that you priced it too low to eliminate paying high estate taxes on a
home you inherited to make sure that you are not paying too much in property
taxes because of an inaccurate home valuation. Lastly, so that when you list
your home it's not priced too high and sits on the market for months or longer.
Real estate appraisal associates of Southwest Florida are highly trusted and valued and they
have done over 10,000 appraisals. They are locally owned and operated for over
10 years. They are a licensed state certified appraiser and are an expert

They do everything from oil changes to tires to AC work to engine repair and replacement.
They are not just motivated to do their best, they are auto motivated and their business
lives by Proverbs 16 3. Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will
establish your plans. I forgot to give you the phone number for real estate
appraisals. That number is 941-743-3700, 941-743-3700 and Hanson's Automotive is 941-460-3962. 941-460-3962.
There you go.
You know what, I'm gonna give a little shout out to Sarah.
My protein balls that I've been making,
this is side note,
cause I'm hankering for one right now.
Mm-hmm.
Me too, now that you said that.
But I'm telling you right now.
What flavor are they?
Peanut butter.
But I use that vanilla, Sarah,
is there a way that we can put something
so people know if they're looking for a good protein powder?
I'm sure I can send Tracy something.
Okay, I'm telling you guys, if you like protein balls,
this protein powder is so, do you use it Vanessa?
No.
Oh my gosh.
It's a Arbonne?
Yeah.
I love the chocolate one.
I'm just telling you, like it is silk.
My protein balls, it's vanilla protein balls
and I make a peanut butter one.
I crave them like there's,
and I've had other protein powders that I've used
for my protein balls.
There's nothing like that one.
I mean, oh my gosh, it's so good.
So good.
So if you're needing like good, healthy stuff,
there you go.
That's it.
But can you, you can't just buy that though.
You gotta go through somebody to get it. You gotta go through me, please. Well, there you go, that's it. But can you, you can't just buy that though. You gotta go through somebody to get it.
You gotta go through me, please.
Well, there you go.
You gotta go through Sarah.
Feel free. Holy moly.
I don't think that's the one actually.
I think that's the one.
No, that's my bag looks like that.
Is it changed?
Yeah, well they rebrand every now and then, but.
I could swear that's what my bag looks like.
It could very well be, yeah.
That one's got 20 grams of protein.
Yeah, that's mine.
Yeah, we have one that's got more,
it's got 25 grams of protein in it.
And it's my favorite.
When you open the bag,
it smells like a birthday cake batter.
Oh.
See, I won't like that.
I'm not for that.
Well, you got, you found what you like.
That's what I love, man.
So I'm just saying, like, if you can figure out how to do that,
but I'm craving my protein balls.
Like there's no tomorrow right now.
That is like if you need a good protein power and it's clean,
it's like super clean because you can't be like, even if you go into GNC, right?
Like if you go to GNC, you're not not always gonna get the cleanest of products and they're
correct that's correct yeah that's what I thought yeah Arbonne bans over 2,000
ingredients from its products and the European Union only bans like 1,400 so
we're more strict than the European Union and more strict than like organic.
We're non-GMO.
We don't use artificial sweeteners or colors
or anything like that.
Which is crazy.
I'm just telling you that protein powder is the bomb.
Oh my gosh, I love it.
Back to business.
Okay.
Okay. Sorry.
If you can't find this information
cause it's on the replay,
just email us at askhope at hopehotline.com
and I will get you to Sarah.
But in the meantime, we're gonna put everything
everywhere else.
We can put it on like social media and Facebook.
We'll put it on, yeah.
Cause I hate talking about something and then.
Yeah, we'll put it in the comments and stuff.
But if you, for some reason are like,
I can't figure out how to do whatever you're asking me to do,
just email us or comment or something.
I will see it, but I'll put it, it will be somewhere.
All right, perfect. And all of the link, I can send you a but I'll put it, it will be somewhere in all of the links.
I can send you a link.
You'd be shocked at how much,
if you just eat a protein ball,
like I make my own and they're so good.
And they're not, I can make them in less than,
between five and 10 minutes.
Like it literally takes no time, but-
We might need your recipe.
We need your recipe.
And it doesn't have that much in it.
That's okay.
Like it's so, so good.
But I'm just saying you eat a protein ball
and it can last you, like you feel great.
Yeah, I like that.
I need them.
I feel fantastic after these, but it also,
I haven't always like, not every protein powder
have I felt like this about, and plus it's like,
it's not chalky.
Yeah, that's important. That's important. Very important. And it's, I don's like it's not chalky. Yeah,
that's important. That's important. Very important. And it's I don't it's not
chalky at all. So alright let's go people. Sorry side note, rabbit trail or whatever
you call that thing. Yeah, yeah that. But I had to. Alright squirrel that's what it
is. Squirrel. Squirrel. That makes me think of Christmas vacation where the squirrel
is in the Christmas tree.
Yep.
And destroys the whole entire,
I can't wait for Christmas.
I mean, I can.
No, you are like, countdown central.
I know, I love Christmas.
You haven't posted an update.
I know, because I think it's annoying to people.
No, I appreciate them.
But here's the thing.
I appreciate them.
See, my God.
She doesn't like Christmas.
But here's the thing, every single week,
if I could, like every single week,
there's like three of them I wanna post.
I don't even post every single week.
Okay.
But if I could, I would.
Cause I love counting down.
I know you do.
I love Christmas.
I don't wanna rush time though,
cause I am enjoying life right now.
Cause it's June.
And I cannot believe it.
I literally blink.
How does that happen? It's June. Did you know that? And I cannot believe it.
I literally blink.
How does that happen?
I know.
It's June, somebody's birthday is this month.
I know, tell ya.
All right, which you know, this is crazy.
A lot of people don't know,
Tracy and my daughter's birthday are the same day.
Yep, birthday twins.
Isn't that crazy?
Yep, same time.
All right, let's go.
I'm all over the place.
You are.
I don't really care.
Good.
Next question.
This was interesting.
I've been a part of church.
I love these questions that, okay.
I've been a part of church my whole life
and hear so many Christian phrases
that everyone repeats without question.
And as soon as I heard this question,
I'm like, they're right.
But recently I started wondering,
how many of these popular sayings are actually in the Bible?
None of them.
I don't think are in the Bible.
For example, people often say,
God helps those who help themselves.
That is not scripture.
But you hear people quote it all the time, guys,
like it is, correct?
Yep.
But I can't find that anywhere in scripture.
Are there other common Christian phrases that aren't actually biblical?
And should we be careful about using them?
I say yes and I say no to that.
You shouldn't make something sound like it's scripture if it's not.
And you should be able to back up that phrase with scripture if you're going to use it.
What do you guys say?
So the one that says, God helps those that help themselves.
Here's the scriptures that I think back up that scripture because I've used that.
I've used that. I've said that.
I had, and Sarah's saying she said it. Like, have you guys ever said that?
God helped us.
Or maybe you didn't know that one.
I heard it, but I've never, yeah, I've never.
Oh yeah, I've used that one.
Proverbs six, six, one through eight.
And this is the exact, there's two of them that come
to mind when I think of those, actually three. Got it?
But one of them doesn't really pertain.
I mean, it does, but it doesn't.
Proverbs 6, 6-8 says, take a lesson from the ants, you lazy bones, learn from their ways
and become wise.
This is not the message, Sarah.
This is actually New Living Translation.
The message is Tracy and Sarah's favorite.
So it says, though they have no prince or governor to rule to or ruler to make them
work, they labor hard all summer gathering food for the winter.
What are you laughing at?
The message.
It's good in the message.
Say it in the message, Sarah.
You lazy fool.
Look at the ant.
Watch it closely.
Let it teach you a thing or two. Say it in the message, Sarah. You lazy fool. Look at the ant.
Watch it closely.
Let it teach you a thing or two.
Nobody has to tell it what to do.
All summer it stores up food,
at harvest it stockpiles provisions.
So how long are you gonna laze around doing nothing?
How long before you get out of bed?
A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there.
Sit back, take it easy.
You know what comes next?
Just this.
You can look forward to a dirt poor life.
I love it.
Poverty, poverty, your permanent house guest.
I love that.
See, the message is more like a story.
It's rendering.
It's rendering.
It's like a story versus scripture. And that's why a lot of people like it. It's like you're reading a story. It's a rendering. It's a rendering. It's like a story versus scripture.
And that's why a lot of people like it.
It's like you're reading a story.
Like a story.
Like the Bible is a book.
I was about to say, but it's like a novel to me.
The message is like a novel.
It's like a rendering.
It's a rendering.
It's not a translation.
It's not a translation.
It's like a story.
It's a rendering.
It's the inspired word of God. It's not a translation. It's like a story.
It's a rendering.
It's the word of God.
But that one's good.
So there you go.
I think that that one matches up.
God helps those who help themselves.
But here's another one.
Let's find out what the message says to this one.
Second Thessalonians 3.10, okay?
Says, even while we were with you,
we gave you this command,
those unwilling to work will not get to eat.
What does it say?
Oh, Eugene.
That's Eugene Peterson, the name of the guy who did the message.
Don't you remember the rule we had when you lived with you?
If you don't work, you don't eat.
And now we're getting reports
that a bunch of lazy good for nothings
are taking advantage of you.
This must not be tolerated.
We command them to get to work immediately.
No excuses, no arguments and earn their own keep.
Friends, don't slack off in doing your
duty. You know what that sounds like to me? Chet GPT. Chet GPT. Yeah. Last one, tell
me what it says for yours Proverbs 12 11 which is a hard worker has plenty of
food but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.
Mine are all new living translations.
What is yours?
The one who stays on the job has food on the table.
The witless chase whims and fancies.
Interesting.
Okay, here's, I'm gonna give you a couple more
that people use.
And some of them are like,
this one people misuse it all the time.
It says, money is the root of all evil.
That is not what it says.
Money is the root of all evil.
That's not what scripture says,
but people will say it all the time,
which is for the love of money
is the root of all kinds of evil.
And some people craving money
have wandered from the true faith
and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
So a lot of people, when they say that,
they're actually trying to say something similar to that,
but they're just misquoting it. say something similar to that,
but they're just misquoting it. I don't think that, I think they're misquoting it.
I don't think that it's actually a saying,
but some people do use it as saying,
because I've heard them say,
I know what the scripture is, I'm just saying.
Yeah.
Here's another one.
Spare the rod, spoil the child.
Yep.
I've said that a hundred times. That's not scripture though.
Here's scripture. Proverbs 13 24 says, whoever spares the rod hates their
children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.
Proverbs 22 15 says, folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of
discipline will drive it far away. Proverbs 23, 13 through 14 says,
do not withhold discipline from a child. If you punish them with the rod, they will not die.
Punish them with the rod and save them from death. And that death isn't like they're going to die.
That death is meaning spiritual death. But even though it says spare the rod,
spoil the child, it actually is what scripture is saying. Right.
Just like the very first one that you were using,
which is, what was that?
What she said?
God helps those that help themselves.
God helps those that help themselves.
So yeah, a lot of like phrases and things like that
aren't necessarily scriptural,
but you can trace them back to scripture.
And I think as long as you are going to use them, as long as you can say, okay, that's
not actual, that's not an actual scripture and verse, but it is referring to this scripture
and verse if somebody was like, well, I ain't a scripper.
Okay, okay.
It's not.
That's true.
But it's basically summarizing what scripture is saying.
So, all right, what time is it?
Cause I have no clock.
I just want to make sure.
Oh, it's two, we have two minutes.
It's 3 57.
Okay.
Let me see this one.
Let me see.
Oh, this one's short.
Let's do this one really quick.
Okay.
I just started seriously reading the Bible on my own.
And honestly, some parts really confuse me.
I expected it to be all about love, hope, and Jesus.
Who doesn't?
But instead, I'm reading about murder, betrayal,
and some really messed up family drama.
Yeah.
Real life, baby.
Like David basically stole someone's wife and had the guy killed and he still called
a man after God's own heart.
Why are these stories, even in the Bible, it feels like God could have left them out
and just given us the good examples.
Am I missing something here?
Yeah, you're absolutely missing a lot.
Like either going to live in the real world or you're not going gonna live in the real world
or you're not gonna live in the real world.
And in order to live in the real world,
you gotta like, there's good, bad and evil,
along with like blessings and abundance,
you know, like in favor.
Like there's a whole lot of good things,
grace and mercy and joy and like all of those things.
But sometimes in order to get to these,
you've had to go through this.
And if you don't talk about this, how do you get to that?
Cause that's not real world.
And a lot of times I'm just telling you
in the worst stories, like you referred to David,
David is, even though there's murder, betrayal, adultery,
there's redemption and shows that all of us have fallen short of the glory of God. But
through repentance, true repentance, a man after God's own heart who was humble and
repentant instead of somebody who just said, please forgive me, but had every intention of doing it again.
When David said, please forgive me for I have sinned, his intention was never to do it again.
And through that, God can do something with someone and there there's redemption through that. And we all can be used.
Those are stories of hope for me,
not stories of like bad, evil.
Now all of that, like there's people who are,
I can't say the words because-
Essay?
Essay, yes.
Which is, I was gonna say, can I use the,
am I, I'm allowed to use the initials?
Cause you just did.
That's appropriate.
Okay, there's essay in there, a lot.
But even in that, it shows that families come together,
they take revenge and the consequences for that
to the person they took revenge on
as well as to themselves for doing that.
There's a lot of different things that you can take from.
You look at Job.
Job went through hell and back, right?
He was tested.
But at the end of the day, he received a double portion.
Right.
So like you can, it's all through the lens
in which you're looking at it through.
And you need to like, not necessarily look at it as a negative that you're having to
read about it.
You need to say, Lord, like you're gonna flip the switch on this and you're going to like
show like the positive outcome when somebody responds in a Christ-like or spiritual way or the
godly way. And it also teaches you too, I think, when you see that there's
consequences for actions and the consequence doesn't have a positive
outcome, it teaches you, I might not want to do that.
Wisdom says I learned through someone else's mistake, not let me
make the same mistake
and see if I don't get the same result.
That's stupid.
Yeah.
Stupid.
Wisdom says, I don't need to do that
because I already know the outcome.
I've seen it happen to somebody else.
It's not for me.
Yeah.
Girls, what do you say?
Okay.
Yeah.
You have nothing to say.
We're four minutes.
There were two minutes over.
But you guys want to say, Sarah, what do you want to say?
I mean, if the Bible was all butterflies and rainbows,
who would read it?
The entire crucifixion story would have been left out which is
crucial to
Everything everything it's like the need entity. It's our you know, what God did for us
He sent his only son die like we're just gonna leave that out, right?
I mean that was brutal what they did to him, right?
Yeah, and tell you said like it helps us see that God uses imperfect people.
Yeah.
It just makes, it's like,
cause if everyone in the Bible was perfect,
then we would feel like we'd have to be perfect.
And I mean, as us, it's very hard to do that.
Like it just wouldn't be like accurate for us.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We'll never measure up.
Right.
Right. But I love seeing that there are people like,
okay, I'll be honest with you.
I love knowing that the Israelites were so stupid
that they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years
because they lived in doubt and unbelief
because I have to battle the same exact thing.
I have to overcome.
And I know that, okay, I'm not the only exact thing. I have to overcome.
And I know that, okay, I'm not the only one.
Those were God's people.
Those were his chosen people.
And he literally, in the 40 years they lived there,
they never needed new sandals.
They never wore out.
Every need was met.
Nobody starved.
They always, they had enough to eat at all times, and he showed
them where to go every single day.
He was with them every single day.
And for me, there's hope in that because I'm like them.
I'm a dumb as a box of rocks sometimes, but in that I know he's with me every day.
I don't have to worry about a thing
because every provision and every need will be met.
Even in my most stupid moments that can possibly
I do to myself.
There's hope.
So I don't know.
Like I think it's all in, again, it's like I said, it's the lens in which you look
at things through.
It really is.
Absolutely.
It really is, everything is.
Yeah.
And it's such, for me, it's a lot of times it's very
positive, but sometimes I'm literally like,
like I don't read the message, but I love reading.
I love, I love novels.
I love things like that and I don't read them anymore.
But seriously, you can sit there and read that Bible
and it's like you're reading,
sometimes it's like the Song of Solomon,
it's like reading a love story.
Then there's things like first, second Kings,
Chronicles and things like that.
You're like reading history, like there's wars, there's-
The whole book of Genesis.
There's so many stories in the book of Genesis.
Like Jerry Springer.
Like literally.
Yeah.
And, or you're looking at like,
if you read certain novels,
some of the reasons why people read certain novels
is because of the places that it'll take you.
Like the countries that it'll take you, like the countries that it'll take you to,
and your imagination can visualize,
like beautiful country sides, things that you might not,
a place you might not ever go, but your mind can go there.
And that's, I mean, if you read Genesis and stuff like that,
you literally are looking at the beauty of God's creation and like places,
country sides that, I mean, like it's very descriptive.
Yeah. Very, yeah.
So I don't know, I don't know how people
don't read the Bible, but I do know that.
Actually, I take that back,
cause there's been times in my life that I didn't
because it's importance wasn't important.
Yeah.
So I do understand it, but the problem with that is
the life and the experiences that I allowed myself
to go through because I wasn't reading it
didn't have to occur either.
Like some of the things that the way I handled things,
the way I saw things was the lack,
there was lack in responding to it biblically
because there was no Bible present.
Mm-hmm, right, correct.
Yep.
Which hurts yourself.
Like sometimes I can remember being so stressed out
and so worried about things
because I hadn't been reading my word.
And if I had been, then I would know there's nothing to worry about.
Like scripture says, do not worry about anything.
Does.
Like do not worry about tomorrow
for tomorrow will take care of itself.
I mean, scripture after scripture after scripture
that tells you don't worry about the cares of this life.
No.
They're not yours to care for.
Right.
Whatever is lovely, whatever is pure,
that kind of goes on.
Think on these things.
Yep, cast all your cares upon me for I care for you.
Like there's just so many things.
But when you're going through things in life
and you're not in your word, the way you respond
and the way you look at them are not gonna be the same.
They're gonna be very carnal.
Cause your well is dry. Yep. look at them are not going to be the same. They're going to be very carnal because you have your your
well is dry. Yeah. That's it. That's all I got to say. It's some minutes over. Anybody else got anything
good? Sarah, tell me the scripture you're looking up right now. I'm looking at the map for my appointment that I have to be at.
Okay, so there's no message scripture over there. No, that was it. We're good?
We're good.
All right, people.
We have some really good questions for Friday.
I'm excited about them.
We will see you on Friday.
Thank you for tuning in.
