uh it's getting me it was freezing and raining all week now starting to get hot and it's going to be in the high 70s, low 80s and I don't know, we'll see. It's crazy weather. Supposed to be up in the 70s this week. Man, I

hope for cool weather for a while man, because it was like hot and then it got cold and it was raining, snowed once. And it looks like we're going to be in the low to mid 70s for a couple days and we shoot up to 80 then we drop back down to the 60s.

I'd rather just like that, but where Theo's at? Oh man, the high for him is 66 this week. And he gets cold. But sometimes where he's at, man, it'll be like overcast for like months. He's right along the shoreline, the West Coast. So, but, uh, all right. Like I said, we were coming at you with some 80s, early 80s goodness. And this is 1983's, the original, the first film, Sleepaway Camp.

this is April so last month we're at the end of May I don't know the what happened but I just got that news like everyone else did and I'm like oh man week

Robert Earl Jones has been Owen Hughes Willie Cuskin and a bunch of other people in this film but Brian when was the first time you had seen 1983's Sleepaway Camp It had to

been when I was a kid. I think this was a VHS rental. It was one of those like word of mouth. You got to watch it for the ending type of thing. So I checked it out and

that ending is iconic. Whoever that guy is the body doubles. Yeah, I think he just kind of disappeared. in movie history because I don't think anybody knew who he was.

Got out to everybody for keeping his name secret too. Yeah, Paul DeAngelo is the guy with the little shorts. Because the picture they have here on IMDV is the cop with the mustache. We'll get to him later on. But I seen this one when it first came out in the theater.

I had no idea what it was. I just seen the poster. And I thought the poster was sweet. And I'm like, but these are the days when everything made went to the theater. So I was like, okay, cool. Another camp killer movie. We already had Friday of 13th with Came out in 80.

So I'm like, all right, cool. Let's just see. I mean, because after Friday the 13th, it was like all these different, camp movies started to come out. I mean, I think the movies, in my book, there's like three that are like my favorite camp slasher films. Of course, the original Friday 13th and, of course, this one.

And the burning, which some people don't enjoy, but I love that movie. That movie was awesome. But yeah, we went and just seen this. The ending was spoiled to me before I saw it. because one of these I think it was my buddy's brother saw it and he's like oh my god

the ending this happened and that happened we're like what and we're like okay well obviously you guys are listening you already know the ending but we were I was like wait wait what and I'm like yeah man you got to see it and I'm like okay so we went

and seen it and I've always loved it I just thought it was an awesome film years and years later I can't remember I think it was the second Texas Fright Mayor that I went to

I think it was the one you were at but I don't think you went with me were you there that year Felicit Rose was there I don't sorry if you heard somebody screaming my neighborhood's crazy I don't remember if she was there

I just remember that was when Robert England was there Tim Curry That's when Meatloaf fell off the stage Okay it wasn't that year I think it was a year before Yeah meatloaf rest in peace Anyway

This is when I fell in love with her I just thought she was a little cutie And of course she was older than me I was what 12 years old when this movie came out And so Didn't think I would ever meet her So we go I knew she was having a panel

I raced into that room I was sitting in the front row I did to get to ask her a question Everybody was just throwing sleepaway camp stuff at her I ended up she was a producer And one of a Slayer's music videos um so and i was asking her about that and she was kind of like oh right on because later when the whole thing was over we were standing in line to go into something and i didn't even

see her somebody tapped me on the shoulder and i turned around and it was her and she was like hey thank you for for bringing up the slayer stuff it was really cool and i was i was just like oh my god i i couldn't believe it and she was like oh yeah thank you it was nice meeting you and she just stuck her arms out and I just kind of leaned forward and gave her the one arm hug and she had two arms around me and she squeezed she was like thank you thank you for coming and it's real nice meeting you and I was like oh cool right on I said I got you get a picture with you she was like yeah sure sweet and even have to pay for it and so I leaned in and got a couple pictures of her but after that I started seeing her at every con I had went to and I'm going to see you

her, I guess it's June right now. This month, she's going to be at the Sinister CreatureCon in Sacramento. So I'm going to go down there. And everything I've met her, she signed my Blu-ray. She signed my VH, not my VHS, my DVD. I got a poster. Shout out to Nightmare Toys, which no longer

is a business. They kind of just went out of business. They had a poster down there, and I had her sign it when I met her in Albuquerque. And when I showed her the poster, she was like, oh, where did you get this? And I was like, nightmare toys. And she was like, oh, my God, I don't have one of them. And so I got a guy was a special poster. I think it was a poster that they made.

So I had her sign that and everything. And I just saw her earlier this year in January in Vegas at, Days of the Dead and I was just kind of walking through and she she was walking down the aisles and she saw me she went hey and gave me a big hug and they're like oh cool I'll come over and talk to you later but every time I went past her table it was like a ton of people there um I went to a couple screenings of this uh the one she she did she would do commentary track so everybody's watching a movie she's sitting up in the front she got a microphone and just basically gives you a commentary talks through the whole thing oh when this happened that happened and da da da da da da and keep your eye on this and

forgot a lot of it but that was really cool if you guys ever get to do she does them all over the place so if you ever get to go to one of her her commentary screenings definitely go because if everyone that's seen the movie a billion times it's like you don't mind her talking through the whole thing but that was really cool and um and like she recognizes me now we met so many times So it's like cool. I don't want to go as far as like she's my friend, but she's always, oh, hi, and she sees me. So I kind of love that. He's your friend.

But I did tell her. I said, oh, man, I said, I fell in love with you. When I first saw this movie, she's like, oh, right on. So. But when I do see her, she goes, okay, it's good seeing you. I love you and all that. And I'm like, okay, I love you too. And then she walks out of my life.

but I also met Judy and Meg Karen Fields Judy yeah she's the bitch in the movie but she was really really nice and Meg Catherine Cammy or however say her name I thought she was cute in the movie she's still beautiful now and she was really cool to talk to

so but and uh what's his name Paul Christopher Collette I met him he was in that one movie we did. Prayer for the Roller Boys. What were they saying? Day of the Rope. I walked past his table and I yelled out, Day of the Rope, and he went, yeah.

So, but I met it before. He was really cool. Put that on Blu-ray. Yeah. If you guys haven't seen that, I think it's on YouTube, but... Yeah, it is. But, yeah, this movie is awesome.

I can't say that for the other ones except for Return to Sleep Boy Camp the last one they did because it wasn't it wasn't full of Soros and the other ones and I Bruce Springsteen's sister right

good and a bad way I just remember seeing the box this was one of those straight-the-video ones oh where the poster lies to you yeah there's a hockey mask and Freddy's glove hanging out I was like what is this so I kind of had no

interest in it I eventually I'd seen it but I don't remember this movie at all. I'm sure we'll fall in on that hole. Even three. Sleepway Camp 3? I don't even... I know I've seen it.

It was one of those ones where we rented it, and I didn't... I don't even remember it. Yeah, Pamela Springsteen comes back. There was only four, right? It's five, I think. There's five? I know they're making a new one

damn fall down this whole it's a whole bunch of good movies in here uh alligator yeah I just picked that one up I didn't even know there was a steel book I walked in the Walmart we're like hell yeah I ended up leaving with that one

and um uh the warriors I don't know how many different steel books they've came out with but I'm like ah do I need it, no, but it's 4K. So I had to pick it up, but all right, everyone. But yeah, three,

oh, no, I guess there is four. Sleepway camp four, the, the survivor. All right, I don't, okay. I don't think, I don't remember if I seen this one or not. I think I think I did see four.

Hmm, it's only an hour and ten minutes. all right i don't remember that one looks like felicit roses in the fourth one but the return of sleepway camp that one when that one came out uh

i saw it on netflix and i was like okay and i seen the other ones how bad can this one be so i started watching it and um it was a jonathan ricky he came back and ronie and ronie and uh... Allen, those guys from the original film, they came back and then Isaac Hayes and all that. So, but the ending of Return of Sleepway Camp, I was like, whoa, I wasn't really, I must have not been paying attention.

But then, because I went back and rewatched it and I was like, oh, man, how come I didn't realize that was her? Okay. I didn't see four. I seen Return to Sleep Boy Camp. All right. Because it has that one guy that's in the Sopranos. Yeah. It says it's on Tooby, but.

Or Exumo play with it. That annoying ass fat kid. Kept telling everybody to smell his ass or some shit. All right. So we're going to roll through this one. You ready? Yeah. All right.

so with no ads whole this movie doesn't have some time too so but people were saying this was crystal lake I don't really know where they shot this one do you do you know

see if I can look at it um Locations County began filming began September 11th the majority of the film was being shot on location at Camp Starlight. Starlight, Pennsylvania. All right.

Assume that's where the camp is. All the stuff that they're showing is like a slow shot of the lake, and then they're showing the camp. And I assume this is the aftermath of the camp being shut down because it looks kind of run down. cabin doors are missing and it's just garbage everywhere. You're not really sure exactly.

Some things are bordered up. Doors are broken. Windows are bordered up. But you hear, other than the eerie music, you hear, I assume, campers doing their thing. This must have been a loose camp with some of the stuff going on

in this. Get to some of that stuff. especially the chef. Yeah, this is a different time, boys and girls. This is in the 80s where everything went, everything goes. Some of this stuff, yeah, I don't think they would do today. But I don't know, some movies try to push the envelope, but I think those are the more indie films that can get a way.

way with some of the stuff. But in this one, yeah, it's a different time in 1983. You probably shot it all in 82. But this was a working camp. It wasn't something that they built.

a water skier she's screaming can we stop I mean this must have been a good summer camp I mean I've been a summer camp a bunch of times

but we did never have water skiing so that's only in the movies So we got the two little kids playing with their dad on the boat They push him over and then the whole boat flips over That seemed too easy Yeah At least his kids had um

Life vests on The girl the other camp counselor I don't know if she was a camp counselor or she was a camper She wanted to drive the boat I like it I like going on boats Especially on lakes Low ass sweat trunks Oh, yeah. I hated those. Even back then, little shorts.

As soon as I started doing those big long surf shorts, they were longer, that was all about that. If it didn't go past my knees, I didn't wear them. The shorts we had to wear for Jim and junior high and high school. Why didn't have Jim in high school, only in junior high? I'll be that kid to have the speed of. Oh, no. Like, how you're not paying attention? They're just falling ass.

And, uh, kids are in the boat and the other boat, in the water, in the water with their dad. Apparently this boat does the turn. Yeah. It's not like there's breaks. The boat rides right over the dad and the kids.

Water skier sees everything. Uh-huh. She's just screaming is screaming. One of the kids are still alive. And the dad and he's dead. He's probably got knocked out and drowned. But the other little life vest comes floating up and it's all shredded up and bloody.

Eight years later. Yep. I'm sorry, man. She was creepy. This was Ricky's mom, right? Yeah. Okay. she was creepy

I always had a had a question did Ricky know because during this when she's telling them she's like oh yeah I got your medical papers and all that that's a hell of a secret

to keep that whole time but he does when he tells her because yeah just don't tell them where you got these papers but Ricky's like, well, I'll never tell. So that's what kind of made me think of, did he know about Angela? Yeah.

This lady's in a completely different movie. Yeah, I mean, I want to know. Did they tell her, okay, this is how I want you to act? Because she was creepy. What the hell was her name? I already forgot. Someone's yelling it. I already forgot her name.

It is Aunt Martha. She did. do the con circuits. I've seen videos of interviews with her. You ever meet her? No. And the cosplayers I see, man, they really go for it.

See ladies walking around like her and some, unless you're a die-hard sleepaway camp fan, you don't know, you would just think she's nothing. You wouldn't even know. I got the string on the finger too. Yeah. The ones I've seen.

Right there he said i'll never tell and angela just barely had any lines in this whole movie a buddy of mine uh shan shadowed sean c phillips he's worked with her and uh i think he's had a couple movies of his speaking of that did you watch um skate to hell yet it's on prime it's a movie i think i've seen uh watching who calls on two be Amityville backroom that's on there I need to watch Amityville

I remember those. They're dangerous. Big ass pot with... I mean, you got to cook. Hell of food for all these kids. Campers and counselors. I still love these type of slasher films. The POV shots.

Yeah. Someone coming in. We didn't think it was a kid killing everyone. Because I'm like... I don't know. I mean, you gotta just go roll with the film, but this big ass motherfucker, what is he? 250? Yeah, this is how you do POV, not like in a violent nature.

putting salt in that big pot why didn't he just like push back jump to the side yeah jump to the side he's hanging on over the big pot of water and you see this little kid hand look like a man hand

pulls a chair and then he pulls a big old pot of boiling water on him Oh, my God. This awesome practical effects of his skin all just burnt, a little bubbling in his face. Why did he, why didn't he just fall to the side? It was a panel of boy. His hand was too strong. I got burnt with coffee on my back.

I couldn't imagine just all over his whole body. just burnt from the water I mean that coffee fucking felt like acid on my back my mom said the skin just peeled up on my back nasty ass kitchen look at that fly strip

I'm worried about that I guess it's the days when doctors show up with the paramedics see Mel was hardcore he didn't even give a fuck about everyone else He just didn't want the camp to shut down. He just a secret.

Yep. He wants to keep it away from the kids and the parents. Next thing you know, they're going to want refunds. Yep. Took down that first stogie, lighting up a fresh one. So we got the assistant cook now. He's the head cook. And three other helpers.

Teenagers. Yeah, you got that plaster ball on his shoulder. I know. Like they had campers, unless everybody was outside playing, or someone should have heard him screaming. Especially screaming like that. Yeah, and see the ambulance and the police show up. Well, what did they say?

Give him extra $20 or $10? On top of their pay. Well, back in the 80s, right, top dollar. what was minimum wage when I started working? I think it was like three bucks three something, three 50 or something like that.

When I started, I think it was like $4.50. When I started with my job 31 years ago, it was $6.50. Doing the exact same thing I'm doing now.

But I needed a job with benefits, so I just sucked it up. I can't imagine being paid $6.50. All these new kids that start working with us. Getting paid almost $20.

I'm like, you know how long it took me to get the $20? Get the fuck out of here with it. There's all this bitching you guys are doing. Who the hell names are a kid, Mozart? Is that his name or did they name of that? I don't know. See, I'd be rocking jeans like these guys, not these little high-ass shorts.

Like everyone else. That one guy in the middle with the green hat backwards, he looks like Ricky. the feathered hair, the 80s. I missed those times. Hell no. You hear how his face smack that ass. Yep.

And what the fuck is this for wearing? High-ass cut-off shorts. High socks. Look at this dude's eyebrows. And his little crop top. Oh, cut-off shirt, hairy-ass chest. got that love trail going all the way

oh look at this guy playing what's playing softball or baseball I don't know yeah look at his high-ass shores and they're cuffed that was a good comeback he told Ricky to eat shit and die

And they were talking about skinny dipping in that one. And that was the 90s. Been watching her all week and she's fucked up. Look at the student in the pink shirt. He has a look on his face. Yeah, he brought all this

preppy boy stuff. Polo shirts His slacks Lisa Kooky has got a blue oyster cult shirt But I wouldn't Tuck it in Surprise they didn't play Don't Fear the Reaper

After the boat capsizes John and the children try to swim to shore, but they swim into the path of a reckless motorboat and are struck. John and one of the children are killed. So, I mean, we do see that, like in the beginning, we do see that it's the boy. So we just figured that Angela died. But we don't know their names until later.
