This is also going to be a part of that. I'm going to dedicate this one to my son, Kyle. This was one of his favorite movies out of the series, and he just loved it because Jason was doing his thing. And of course, this is Friday the 13th, Part 7, The New Blood. Friday, May 13th, it's Jason versus Tina. Don't go in there! The match made in hell. There goes the neighborhood.

13, Part 7, the new blood, rated on. Starts Friday, May 13th at a theater near you. All right, this is what it says on Paramount Plus. Ever since Homicidal Maniac, Jason Vort, he's got trapped in chains at the bottom of Crystal Lake. The nearby summer camp has operated without a hitch, without a murder. But one of this season's happy campers has brought along a deadly secret. Were they at camp?

last frightful reflections when we did Tom Savini's Neither Living Dead. He was also on Gullies 2. Oh, that's right. goonies too gave it a 10 everyone stacey uh was a geese and as jane larry cox is russell jeff bennett as eddie elizabeth

katan as robin uh dana boros as mattie and some other people um what the heck did i say uh bernie no i'll take care terry cruz or uh terry kaiser is Dr. Cruz. Jennifer Bonco is young Tina.

John Otrin is Mr. Shepard. Susan Blue is Mrs. Shepard. They also, in the beginning, they do show some previous stuff in the previous movie. So shout out to the great Corey Feldman. Thomas Matthews, Ted White, my favorite, Jason, out of the old series.

C.J. Graham. show him from the end of uh or he was in jason lives and a bunch of other people that were in all these films but brian when was the first time you've seen fight of the 13th part seven the new blood this was a bHS time for me uh i think of my parents had rented it and when they went to sleep i had snuck it and watched it and was just kind of a little bit thrown off by the the whole psychic telekinetic carry aspect of it but over the years I've grown to appreciate it

and it's got my boy Kane Hodder which that is my favorite Jason and yeah it's one of my favorites out of the series yeah I saw this I didn't see it opening weekend

I might have saw it like the second or third I think other than it's skateboarding I'm sure girls got in the way and the ones I was hanging out with didn't like horror movies so I eventually got out there and saw it um of course Jason lives I mean that that seems to be a fan favorite of a lot of people uh not my favorite in the series but I do love the film um so this one I kind of just waited around usually the the previous films I always saw those like pretty much opening weekend but this one I kind of

waited around no internet so I didn't really know there wasn't really any spoilers I didn't know much about it I didn't really watch I seen the trailer

and just probably just didn't didn't spoil anything for myself watching the trailer but when the movie was said and done I was kind of like well okay

I mean that's that's what we're doing here obviously this timeline in the Friday 13th series is a little wonky because I can't tell you exactly what year Jason, when he was underwater at the end of Jason lives, because he obviously was underwater for years and years. I want to say at least, I'm just taking a stab in the dark, at least 10, maybe a little more, because Crystal Lake

or the camp was there in part six and now it's gone young Tina's in this one and then now she's an older woman when she comes back finally when Jason comes alive so let's just say he was underwater for at least 10 years if that so but I don't know

if you guys you guys that really studied this series I know I did a three-hour episode I talked about all the Friday of the 13th movies in my beginning years of the Magnus podcast. I think I did kind of break down the years, but I did that almost 10 years ago,

so I don't remember. But I mean, you got to take these movies with a grain of salt and just enjoy them. So I was like, all right, cool, I'll enjoy it. I mean, but it did look like Jason was underwater. for a long time. So I was okay with it all. But yeah, Brian and I are going to sit through this one and talk about it as it goes.

You guys know how the show goes. What episode is this? I don't even know how many we've done. I think this is five. I think so somewhere around there. I mean, we haven't hit the double digits yet, but we'll get there. So, but all right, ready? Yeah.

One, two, three, go. I watched there be an ad or something before this. Paramount Plus always does it. Nope, right into the movie. Of course, this is the Paramount years before New Line took over and did what they did. Yeah, this is episode five. We're doing now. All right.

I've always loved the music for these films. I think this one has an antro to it. Because, let's see. There's a legend around here. A killing a very, not dead. A curse is I'm in a Christian Lake. Ed. J.C. for his curse.

explosions explosions with some sparklers or some fireworks I liked how he looked in part six when they woke him up. The zombie Jason.

CJ Graham, man. He did a really good job, is Jason. Yeah. I liked his little utility belt with all the gadgets he had on it. If you guys ever get to me, Tom Masby's, he was a cool ass motherfucker. I liked him.

Jason's supposed to be afraid of water. Thanks, new line. I don't know how strong Tommy is, but to get that big boulder in the boat I've always wanted to try this put gas or something in water and light it to see if it works and all the struggling and fighting Jason is like masks never fell off

unless somebody knocked it off yeah, that thing's secure shout out to those people that put a Jason in some lake somewhere underwater. I thought that was cool. By 13th, Part 7, the New Blood. I like these intros because was it,

final chapter, had a cool intro. I liked that. Which one was the James Bond one? That was Jason Lips. Okay. That was awesome, too. I'm huge James Bond fan. Roger Moore is my James Bond.

and I mean he was cool to talk to me so I got Jason and underwater still. Lost his utility belt. That's all the caroland. Yeah. The camp is gone.

So there's a house now. So how old do you say Tina is right here? 10, 11. Yeah. Her mom and dad are fighting. They did a version of him, but they cut it and

for re-shot it. At the end, when he jumps out, the water. You guys should have seen this already. They made him look like zombie-ish looking. Instead of regular looking. Yeah. I don't know how he looks now with just weeds on him.

When he shows up at then and saves her, were we supposed to be happy? Like it was a redemption thing? I guess. Because he was just from the sound, smacking his wife around. The first time I saw this, I was like, wait, what's happening?

I didn't know there was a Like I said I didn't really pay attention to the trailer So I was unsure of the Carrie versus Jason angle they were going for This looks cool though with the dark Shaking Yeah Oh

She shook it up and he goes falling in the water He probably would have been alright If those lumber logs didn't fall on top of them Shout out to her mom She didn't age one bit after if it wasn't 10 might have been a little less than 10 years

now we flash forward to older Tina she looks like she's 25 well she must be over 21 or at least 21 because they're all partying and drinking but

yeah then again don't do it boys and girls don't drink or do drugs underage. But yeah, those are the 80s. It's like some of these people that they get in these movies, it's like I never see them in anything else. Other than Bernie, I mean, I've seen the mom and other things. That was a very nice drive.

Hi, Tina. How are you? Hi. That would be tough to go back to that. I mean. So it was the neighborhood. I hate her. Melissa, she's the

bitch in this movie. She gets hers later. Yeah, she does. This is when it all started. I like with these productions. I mean, they built this house because we see what happens to it at the end of the movie.

You really think that we're doing the right thing, don't you? We've done all we can do for at the hospital. I don't have made enough project. I know it's off on both of you to come back here. Bless me. Did you like weekend of Bernie's two? The Bernie dance?

Yeah. Yeah, I liked it. It's not as good as the first one, but I liked it. He didn't even rot at all. So it must have been like the next weekend. Ah, these fashion. Look how how those shorts are. Those jorts.

yeah so they're up at their house and he's burning everyone he's he knows about her powers right? Yeah, he's seeing evidence of it.

I think you're seeing things. So he's more of just trying to film or and show other people that this is what my patient can do. Yeah. But what he's telling her and her her mom is this is helping you

with your mental state on what happened after your father. But he's got other plans with all this footage and everything. Basically, he's just making her do her powers so he can film it all.

I know she did some cons. I wish I would have got to meet her. That's when he starts saying crazy shit to her. Yeah. I think majority of the final girls were all blonde. Yeah. Except for what's her name in the name? next movie.

And Jason takes my hat. I think she was a redhead. You're lying because when your

emotions are at their peak. Oh, you try, Dina. You ever see him

and Tammy the T-Rex? Yeah. She's using the force and move the magic book.

That trick clearly for this. They put a magnet under the desk. It did

move it. I'm thinking about you I don't know how this is going to help me It's going to help Bernie You're going to speak English It's not true

fixed it. The doc looked a little wonky when he was running on it anyways. Yeah. Oh, oh. Thinking of her dad, now they're showing Jason on the water. I was wondering, why do you stay standing up? But you can see that there's foot's around that chain. So how do they

go swimming in that water and never see him? I don't know. I like his hands. You see his hands all shrilled out? Yeah. I like this one. I mean, the neck of figure for you collectors, oh man, the mold,

the sculpt that they did of Jason, the figure, it's amazing. They get the skull, the skeleton hands, the spine in his back. Oh man, it's an amazing figure. I'm in the package guy, so all mine are wrapped up. I think I'm going to get a part three one just so I can open it.

Ah, here it comes. Out of the water. That must be hard to have all that gear on and mask and everything and then jump out of water. Yeah. I love how he never took that chain off. He just rocked at the whole movie. I just figured he didn't see her because she passed out on the dock when he came out of the water. Oh, he's going to where the sex is.

I hate these things. It has nothing to do with my father. Built over your father's death is a powerful thing. But it wasn't my father. Can your mind is manufacturing his hallucinations because? Is it one? I hate these type of things like this. Or the victim is trying to tell you and they just don't care.

Car was overheated. That's not Judy. Rose. Nope. They're almost there. Jane, what's this Woods? I'm beat. Michael. What? We're going to have to go back to the car in the morning anyway.

He looks like Will Forte from my sat in that life. Magruber? Yeah. He got the machete. That's a big tent. These are just random. them campers that happened to be in Jason's woods. See, there's no need to go way

out. You could have just looked around right by your camp. And I assume he was just going to chop twigs with that machete. Uh-oh. I don't know about you, but I think I would just sent somebody walking up behind me.

And there would be no movie. So he comes, right behind him. Being underwater, gave him all those powers. He gave him the dim mark. Death touch. Jammed his hand all the way through him. Your big hunk of her man.

Yep. She was ready to party. Got the brew and everything right there. Uh-oh. This far as sweet. Draggs her sleeping bag out of the tent. Your ass out, lady. Oh.

Slammed her against the tree. It was great. How did it bust her face. There's even anything of the broker legs. These movies are always like the oddest group of friends. And they're always like the oddest group of friends. And they, the young black couple. What was their problem?

They were just fighting this whole time, all time they were just fighting this whole time. every time they show them. I don't think we got any backstory out there. He's out trying to get his. He's putting in that time. They think they're not back around. My cousin. Like, what part of the lake is this?

This looks like just a pond. Okay, here goes. I grew up in Pittsburgh. I used to hang out with a real bad crowd and my dad keeping out. Well, at night's cool. Your time. This guy hung out with the bad crowd?

He came out to help. Mental hospital. Well, is she honest. Yeah. He's just being a man. Unless I keep watching them. You know, with my luck, you're probably going to turn out to be another dilution. Well, he might as well.

You probably won't see. see him again. He does not care about any of her mental state. These guys were in the 80s. I wasn't everybody. I was too busy

skating. He's just sleeping his clothes. I was about to say, does he sleep with that file? If anything, the doctors, he's just making it worse for her.

Are you a good griller? Yeah. Yeah, I'm decent. That's one thing I need to learn. I mean, I can make like hamburgers and hot dogs, but, like, they're making kebabs. I would burn it all. I can bust out the kebabs.

Yeah. He's rolling them up. At least he knows how to roll, not like Johnny and karate kid. I don't know what he was doing. Twisting hands. Hell yeah. Yeah, sure, nice.

I'm going to do it. You don't smoke. I did that? You can't, ma'am. You and I made a deal. We were going to come here and have a good time, right? Well, I'm going to stick to the deal. You in?

Okay. I don't know how it is with girls, but with me and my boys, if one of us liked somebody, then whoever was the one that talked to her first would all right the rest of us would step aside

it seemed like these two Maddie and Robin like that little stoner guy and they were just battling out to see who was going to get him first choken her with her pearls thought she's about choking with her pearls uh oh you guys motion you almost own a tendency

just proved my point they made a matchbook moved he broke the pearls oh do those things then why can't you believe that I We do believe you, Tina. Your psychokinesis and these delusions are just all tied together. Look at me. You haven't heard of thing away.

You're looking at me. After the hospital, we're starting to make some real problems. They should have made stuff start flying around in this scene. It's just not working. I wouldn't have been fighting this guy. Uh-oh. You're excited. Oh.

hit him with a pot with the what's his name's head and it this badass right here too oh bringing the awning down the house he said he really got hurt

with that stunt he looked like he got hurt that didn't look like that fake wood that looked real so he must have just stayed in the house while all that was going on.

I give it to King, man. Whoa. For his accident that he went through with the fire and the gun, awesome. I want to know actually how much time he was on fire before they ran in and put him out.

The house was on fire, but get out of there. I assume it just hit a gas bane. I like how he knew was going to explode. See, that was cool, man, they blew up that whole house. They built that house just to blow it up.

She didn't sense him that he was still alive. Let's get out of here. Oh. And how come they didn't see him walking up with him? Shoot him in the face. Good thing. You fell in that boat. Uh-oh.

So they just left their dad's body underwater all these years. luckily the mask didn't burn up in that explosion his hockey mask old school ambulances I got a new school one over there but they got up this looks like that one from um part four yeah

would they really be in the same one together oh man those old school ones were wider well that's it boys and girls I was I had 13th part 7 New Blood All right

So he gets sucked under there And I couldn't tell you how many years go by But years enough For them to level that other house Build a whole entire camp again And then Open it all up

And I assume they do dug a trench that made the lake lead right to the ocean to the they put a lot of work in so yeah I don't know how many years he was underwater because if you guys remember in part eight

that boat that comes sailing over or rover floating over their anchor catches the electrical wire at the time of the lake and sparks up and brings Jason back to life.

So, but this one, I mean, it's good. It's still enjoyable even after all these years. I mean, I still love it and everybody in it. I mean, other than Melissa, he seemed to be the only one that I hated. But there's always one in every horror film.

But, yeah, and Kane Hodder's first outing as Jason did an amazing job. All the stunt work he did, getting that awning. dropped on them getting burned up I mean that's that's a stunt and a half right there and if you guys haven't not seen his

documentary definitely checked that out was a really good story it was sad too but it was cool but all right boys and girls that is it for tonight frightful reflections what did you say five episode five

all right and of course part of this year's East Society's 31 days of horror. And again, dedicate this episode to my son, Kyle. He loved Friday 13th, just as much as me. We sat down and we watched all these movies. He just wanted to know what Jason was. All right, you're old enough.
