All right, everybody.
Meps and pushes around.
All right, everybody, welcome back to another episode of the Action Returns.
I believe this is, damn, episode 32 already.
I'm your host, Brian, with me, as always, is my brother, Nez.
What's up, man?
32?
Is that what you said?
I think it's 32.
I agree.
Yep, 32.
Okay.
32.
Yeah.
All right, man.
Because we're, what, I think 13 for, um,
stream fiends.
It's all the blur.
Yeah, it is.
But, uh, everyone that listened to our,
uh, our two, uh, WrestleMania shows.
I mean, thank you so much, man.
I, uh, wasn't sure if anyone was going to listen to it,
but, uh, a lot of people did.
I know we said it's not going to be a thing, but it might have to be a thing.
It might have to be at least a good episode a month or something.
Maybe just the pay-per-view.
Yeah, whatever pay-per-view is on that month.
Yeah.
So.
Go ahead.
Real quick, real quick, we were almost right.
Charlotte did show up on Raw.
Yes, she did.
She did not leave with him title.
But she did.
she had to show up for what her 50th heel turn yeah god damn she looked good though I was just
sorry ladies but I was just I was just god damn yeah I met I met her once slimmed up though
yes she did I always felt like she was a little too muscular did uh she married whatever that fool's
name is adrida yeah I think they're engaged I was wondered how that play out since they
let him go.
Well, she can be a sugar mama.
You may he's laying it down good and
wrung that bell now she's in love.
Yeah, she was, you're, you're lying though.
She was looking real good.
Yeah.
I don't know about this storyline about
false pregnancy and false COVID tests or whatever.
Yeah, I don't know what with that whole rant.
I was like, did I miss something?
So, but.
Yeah, everyone, we'll, uh, we'll bring more.
Um, uh, who's, um, Australia.
Um, Tim.
Yeah, was it Tim the one that loves when we do that?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I tell everybody I can't, if Nez is not on the horror returns, I, I can't, I can't do
wrestling returns.
I got to have that intro.
you can't do it
I just have to wait
but that was fun
I listened to both of them
I know that first one was only a half hour
we kind of just ran through it really quick
but the second one's over an hour
so
it seemed like a lot of people listen to that one more
yeah I mean
we really broke those ones down the other ones
we kind of just ran through
really quick but
yeah I think the next one is backlash
so uh
WrestleMania backlash
yeah
all right so we'll we'll see uh what happens with that one but
oh this is action so what are we doing again i'm sorry
band of the hand from nineteen eighty six once they were the problem this is you your criminal
pass they gave you to me now they are the solution
we clean up the park next from the streets now they're on our side
Take the man down.
Band of the hand.
Rated art starts Friday at a few near you.
Let me see.
I got Google pulled up here.
Okay, I have, before we get it, let me read the synopsis.
An Indian Vietnam veteran played by Stephen Lang, which I'll get to a second,
trains five street punks in the Everglades to fight vice.
in Miami. Okay, I didn't see that happening at all. Yeah. Let's see, IMDB, five juvenile's law, five juvenile loss causes are sent to the Everglades where a war veteran tries to reform them using survival tactics. Their new skills are, their new skills and resolve are tested when a Miami drug lord targets them for trying to clean up the neighborhood. That's a better synopsis right there.
it's way better
let's see
this star is Stephen Lang
Michael Carmine
Lauren Holly which I did not know that was
Lauren Holly she was
really young in this one
Leon Robinson
before he just became just Leon
Al Shannon James
and Action Returns
Hall of Famer Larry Fishburn
as cream
this was directed by Paul Michael Glasser produced by Michael Ranch
Ranch written by Leo Garan and Jack Barron
All right before we really get into this
I didn't I was looking for Stephen Lang this whole movie
and I didn't realize until I was looking at the cast list
after I watched this is my first time watch
I was like, where the fuck was Stephen Lang?
And he's supposed to be Native American in this?
And this he is.
He's not like half or is he like full in this movie?
I would probably say he was half.
I wouldn't go as far as Colin in full blood.
I mean, he's not native at all.
I had to look that up.
Um, yeah, I looked at it.
Definitely, I looked it up to.
I was like, Stephen Lang.
I never and then I looked at him.
I was like, okay, he's.
This is probably the first film that I'd seen Stephen Lang in.
I didn't, uh, really know much of, of him.
Uh, so when it was, when I was watching, watching this, uh, my cousin took me to see it.
Cause somebody had something to do with, uh,
Miami Vice because it had that vibe in it.
I don't know if it was one of the producers or what.
It wasn't the director.
The director was Paul Michael Glasser,
aka Detective Dave Starsky from Starsky and Hutch.
And he also directed The Running Man.
But someone in,
this in the production
I assume maybe one of the producers
had something to do with
Miami Vice I don't know
who yeah poster
just says from the maker of Miami
Vice one of one of them but
yeah the first
time I had seen it
in 86
when it came out we actually saw it
the weekend it opened
because my cousin was like oh man this is good let's
go see it and I'm like okay I was already
deep into Miami Vice
So I was like, all right, cool, right?
Let's go see.
I didn't know what it was going to be about who any of these people were in it.
The only ones I knew that was from this film was James Remore.
I already could because of the Warriors and all that.
So was this before 48 hours?
Or was it?
Hmm.
Let's see.
on this uh
he plays a good
in everything
James reman
uh let's see
band of the hand was after four hours
he was already uh
Gans and
Ajax
uh from the warrior so he was
the only one I knew
um
uh what's his name
uh Michael uh carmine
uh Rubin
uh rest in peace
he passed when he was
at the age of 30.
They had something to do with his heart.
But I had seen him in a bunch of things.
And, I mean, he wasn't never, like, the main person.
He was kind of one of the background guys or whatever.
So he was the one that didn't talk.
And the one that Leon was always fighting.
Um, that he was Cuban.
I don't know.
Yeah, the guy that was like, shaped.
Yeah, the jail cell.
Yeah.
What is the short,
short,
I mean,
but yeah,
I mean,
I dug this movie.
I always thought it was cool when it,
when it did its HBO run
and then the VHS days.
I don't know if it was on DVD.
I just picked up the Blu-ray not too long ago.
I didn't even know that.
Mike's the one to call me,
dude,
you have this?
I was like,
nope, so I had to order it.
But, um,
When did you hear about this or how did you hear about this one if this was your first time watch?
I think I heard you mention it on one of your shows one time.
And recently I just happened.
I seen it at the store on Blu-ray and I was like and I think it was like under $10.
And I was like, fuck it.
You know, I'll blind buy it.
And I was like, you know, what better chance to watch it and talk about it than right here on Action Returns.
And I really dug it.
I really dug it.
Uh, this story nowadays, it's probably nothing, nothing new, you know, with the, uh, kind of delinquent kids, you know, they kind of thrown together and they got to, they got to learn to work past their differences and stuff.
But, uh, back then it probably was something new.
And I just, I really enjoyed the characters in it, you know, how different they all was.
I think, uh, what's his name was probably my face.
favorite LT oh jail they called him the quiet one yeah yeah yeah it's right because
his name was a James Lee yeah he was probably my favorite I mean out of all he
seemed to be the smartest one he was just quiet but I mean this one I mean again
yeah it was it was a story um maybe not that that I can remember any movies in the
80s of getting some bad kids and trying to reform them.
I mean, this story has been told over and over, but many different ways.
But I've always loved this film because these five young gentlemen, there were two of them
were in street gangs.
One of them was just a runaway and just in and out of the juvenile system.
one of them was a beginning to be a or he's in the beginning stages these are all teenagers he
he was in the beginning stages of being a part of the dope game uh with more higher up uh drug lords
oh he said he was he was Cuban his Spanish wasn't very good
every time he did no it wasn't but yeah a young
A really young Lauren Hawley.
She played Nikki.
She was supposedly 16 in this, but I don't think so because she showed quick little boob shot.
I think she was 16.
Yeah, it got a, it got a little sketchy here.
There's a scene in here you can't do today with her and James Remar.
And he's like, how old are you?
She's like 16.
He was like, all right, go upstairs.
Take your clothes off.
I'll be up there when I'm done doing what I'm doing.
I was like, whoa, because you, James Remar looks like he's like 30 something in this.
Yeah, even a young Larry Fishburn.
He played, I don't know if he was a street pimp or what, or just one of the local pushers in Little Havana in Miami.
His name was Cream.
Okay.
But I mean, you got to love the 80s.
especially with the fashion, with all of them.
Carlos being Danny Quinn was the drug guy
and his nice little kind of big baggy pants
and silk shirts and silk coats
or whatever the hell they wear down there.
And Leon, he was Moss and Michael Carmine was Rubin.
They were the two street gang guys, the black gang
and the Puerto Rican gang.
Yeah, Ruben was the leader of the homeboys
and Leon was the leader of the 27th Avenue players.
Got to love these street gang names.
I mean...
Yeah, what are we going to call this gang?
I know, the homeboys.
I mean, especially those two, because what I love,
the whole movie, first of all.
But what I really loved about this,
was the beginning because they give you the who each one of these is in like a minute so I mean
because they show the very beginning of the film you see a big street war going on just fighting
and then this is when we're introduced to Rubin and Moss and their two gangs are fighting in
the street and then they both get arrested and then they show their their mug shots and
and their full names and everything.
And then we see,
um,
what's his nuts?
Carlos,
uh,
he's doing a drug deal selling,
two big ass bags of Coke.
And,
uh,
he,
he gets busted.
Yeah,
it was an undercover,
uh,
sting operation.
So he gets arrested.
And they show his mugshot.
And then we go to LJ or JL,
uh,
John Cameron Mitchell.
Uh,
he is,
just some weirdo.
He's got spiky hair, sunglasses,
crazy outfit.
And I don't know why,
but he blew up a classroom at school.
I don't know.
I don't know why he did that,
but he goes back to his house.
I think it was a fascination of his
because you get that scene later
when they're buying all the supplies.
And he's trying to tell the guy,
oh, we're hunting gophers.
the guy's like no
there's no gophers around here there's armadillos
and then he's telling him how to get rid of armadillos
and you can see like he's
super interested on
on the techniques and watching
the materials and everything so
I just think he likes
because when he goes home
to his house he lives in a trailer park
his dad is in there beating up his mom
and his dad's drunk and he kind of
just walks in and looks and just
pulls out his gun
kills his dad and then he gets arrested and then we see Al Shannon's character he plays
Dorsey he was trying to escape from some juvenile center so he gets locked up again
and that's the five people we meet Nikki when she's with Carlos she was his
driver but she ends up hauling ass and getting away so that's when we're introduced to all
them then they get a scene of them all in jail in each different jails and then they all kind of
get pulled out of them and they throw them in a boat to throw them in a like a truck or a van or
something to take them out to the everglades they get on one of those swamp boats and takes
them way out in the middle of nowhere and just throws them all out all right here you guys go and they
don't know what's going on they don't know why they're there no nobody was telling them and
what they were doing there and then out of format well Leon and I'm sorry Moss and Rubin
start going at it start fighting each other and then here comes Stephen Lang Joe he comes out
and tells them all right this is what we're doing and uh I'm basically okay um told them all right
you're gonna be out here this is teach you guys how to live off the land and all that and it was
here.
All your stuff you need is right there.
It was like sleeping bag or whatever that was and a knife and some other things to try to
survive.
And then he kind of disappears.
I'll be back in the morning.
So when he comes back, he says that you guys all need to work as a team.
Basically, this is going to be their form of re, I'm not reconditioning.
What do you call it?
Yeah.
Rehabilitation.
and learning how to work together and live off the land to survive because if they don't,
then they're out in the middle of nowhere and basically you're going to die.
But Dorsey kind of looks at it goes and they're like, who are you?
And he goes, oh, he's a, he goes, he's one of those swamp Indians.
I think he's a seminal.
And he said he's Miccosukee.
Um, as far as I know, there's, there's many tribes over in Florida.
I know Seminole.
Micosukee, I could be wrong.
I'm not really familiar with, with all the tribes over there.
But I'm sure he was from there as well.
Well, the tribe was from there.
Um, really quick.
There is other people or other natives that, um,
don't like it when they get non-natives to be to be Native Americans in films.
It never really bothered me, but it bothers me now because there's so many Native American actors out there,
but you, I understand you've got to get someone that's going to put butts in the seats to watch this film or to rent it or however you watch films.
I
um if if you were okay
say they're gonna remake this movie now
and they were like nez
we want you to cast everybody
would you cast this job
oh man
the first
the first name that popped in my head was
Michael gray eyes but
um
I like that pick
because he he was badass
and um blood quantum
and I did like him and fear the walking dead
he's done
uh
ton of a ton of movies.
I was thinking of
my buddy Gene
Eugene Brave Rock. He was
a chief and Wonder Woman.
Not to name drop everyone.
But he
he's tall and everything, but
he's soft-spoken.
So, I mean, that's
not a bad thing, but
Michael Gray, as I think
he, he's got like a
more of a stronger
stronger voice.
I think he could do it.
Again, there's other tons of native actors out there,
but as far as maybe to get someone that people know,
I would probably go with Michael Gray eyes.
I think he just got cast in something pretty big.
I got,
look it up.
Yeah, I want to say I just saw his picture on something else.
He's been in a ton of things.
He's going to be in the Firestarter reboot as I don't know.
Don't put him in the George C. Scott roll.
Yeah, okay.
Rain Bird.
Come on.
I.
It's the names, everyone.
I mean, that bug.
If they put.
me in a movie for whatever
reason and hey
we want to call you this I'd be like you know what
just call me Niz I mean that's
that's a Navajo last name
and everyone will know I'm Navajo
and when you see my name across the screen
Kevin Nez I'd be like yeah
that's me I would do that
I'm gonna be in one of my friend of the show Mike
one of his films
but it's just my voice
in that one
I don't I don't know the name yet
But if I get to pick the name, of course, it's going to be Ness.
But I don't know what.
I mean, it's Mike's story.
So whatever name he comes up with, just don't call me like two feathers or something like that.
No.
I mean, when's, when's your guys, I don't know.
He's got so many projects, uh, just, uh, he's doing all the time.
I'm like, dude, you need to concentrate on one before you start another one.
So, uh, I don't, I don't really know.
I mean, it's, it's all up to Mike.
And who's going to be the back guy?
As soon as he has me something here, this is what I want you to do.
All right, okay.
But I don't know, we'll see.
But yeah, I would pick Michael Gray eyes if they redid this to be Joe.
They never really said his last name or if they did.
I didn't hear it.
But the rest of the of this film is,
Joe is teaching them how, like I said, how to work together, how to be a band, to work together as a band, to be the fingers of a hand.
Because, I mean, it made sense.
I mean, your hand and all your fingers, they all got to work together to get things done.
So, and he picked all of these guys because they all came from five different backgrounds and two of them hating each other.
and one crazy
firebomb dude
drug
want to be drug lord
and then
some just drifter
runaway
so
yeah he had a little
well yeah he did
racism to him
he dropped
a derogatory term
for
well
it starts with a ness
I mean I've heard it
meaning towards
Mexican
never humans
but to him he probably just puts them all in the same book so but
even uh remar jane uh nester he uh threw that inward uh and that one scene when they're
on the boat now which was go ahead okay is he's is he supposed to be something to
or is he just a white dude that that's into black magic yes i mean
okay that that was i have to say out of anything that probably threw me a little bit because i thought
that was going to come into play more in the movie and i just don't really think it did it only came
into play well not into play but it was only the scene twice other than when nicky uh found his
little ritual closet or whatever and then uh at at the end when they're after they're after they
They kind of raided the house.
They painted something on the wall.
It looked like just a straight line with a circle.
But they said that was Nestor's.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's his mark.
And I was like,
Yeah.
What was supposed to be?
Someone just threw some pain on the wall.
But I don't know.
Yeah,
I thought some,
maybe they'd bring that in.
They just never,
never did.
This film was,
I mean,
this movie is actually kind of short.
hour and 40 minutes or something like that it flies by pretty fast yeah it did not feel hour and 40
like today probably be like two hours and 40 minutes but the weather way out in in the in the
everglades somewhere I mean they come across all kinds of things uh the weather uh just tons and tons
of water all around them um Dorsey at one time just uh took off and he he was trying to escape
and he ends up getting bitten by a rattlesnake.
And Joe brings him back.
And then he's just kind of teaching them all that.
Because they're like, we don't have any food.
What are we going to eat?
This is one of my favorite scenes as well.
When Joe was talking to them and telling them what they were going to do,
he made them like stew.
And they're all just sitting there.
They're just happy to eat something.
So they were eating.
And they go, what are these chewy things?
And they go, oh, those are snails.
And then Ruben is the one that stood up and like,
I ran out to the bushes and threw up.
And then they're,
oh,
what are these other things?
Or these little round things,
I think that's what you call them.
Oh,
those are termite eggs.
And then Ruben threw up again.
And then Moss got on,
man,
what the fuck,
man,
you can have me eating fucking snail dicks or whatever the hell he said.
And I like how it shows you Carlos's,
uh,
background.
because you know he's the the drug trafficker or whatever and he's talking about you know at a fancy
restaurant in Miami you know escargo goes for a lot of money I mean and then they're eating frog
legs have you ever had frog legs yeah frog legs and escargo are I'm sorry to anybody who likes them
now I've tried them never if I could try it snails but uh I'd give the frog legs a try
I mean, I don't know how you
It doesn't taste like chicken to me
I'll learn with
French fried frog eggs from
Doc Hopper in the Muppet movie
That sounds good
Yeah, I've had them
I've had them two different ways
I would say if you're going to try them
Yeah, try and you fry a snail
shit, I'll eat it
What kind of frogs are these?
Are these special frogs that
raised to eat or is it just some regular pawn frog you know I can't even answer that uh we have
like a we have a grocery store here where I stay it's like a specialty where you can get stuff
like that and that that's where we got them and my brother rest in peace you know he made them and
they were fucking disgusting and I don't know everybody everybody thought they tasted good and they were
like, oh, it's like chicken.
I was like, I don't know what kind of fucking chicken you guys are eating.
What is what did it kind of taste like?
The texture is not like chick.
I think it, because I'm a texture type of person and the texture was not like chicken.
And it was more chewy.
And I don't know.
The flavor wasn't there either.
And they were just like, oh, we're going to fry it.
You know, when you fry anything, it tastes good.
I was like, no, you guys proved that wrong.
I'll, I'll try anything.
to a certain degree.
I mean, I got to know what it is.
Don't just put it on the plate and say,
here, and eat this.
I mean, I'm not eating like a horse dick
or anything like that.
Or, um,
bull balls on,
what was that show fear factor?
When they always have them eating crazy things,
I mean,
uh,
Rocky Mountain oysters.
I don't know.
I hate oysters.
They taste like nothing.
Muscles,
uh,
clams and,
stuff like that to me that i know a lot of people love those but they just taste like nothing
and oysters are like big snot clods or uh anyway uh shout out to lance i think i think he eats
them wrong i can't my brother's like that he told me he loves it i'm like i can't do it i
tried it i mean i tried it just all right maybe i will nope i can't do it oh me me neither i
tried and yeah i spit it right back on the play um have you ever tried whale i mean you're up there
yeah i again i i know people love it but it was just like chewing on rubber
no, I'm good.
I tried it, though.
Yeah, I gave me a shot.
I just made my jaws hurt.
I'm chewing and chewing and chewing.
One of my buddies, he's in any way that lives up there.
And they go, yeah, man, we eat it all time.
I said, all right, well, good for you guys.
No disrespect to anyone that eats it.
But I just wasn't for me.
But anyway, so that's, I love that scene when he made that,
stew at that point man I would have ate it
I wouldn't have cared I mean they were
hungry so they were eating that
and they were eating fish
catching I don't know what kind of
swamp fish and catfish that they had down
there so
after Joe taught him
enough he was like all right
here's your final exam
threw a map down gave him a compass
I said he goes if you got
if you guys can find me
I'll be right here on this
map and then he just disappeared
into the night so they all got up one morning and then started the treads through the
through the everglades uh kind of got into a little uh a little fight uh because they were just
not really sure which way direction they were going and they didn't know if they were reading the compass
uh right or not but l j he seemed like or j ls seemed to know what he was doing but when uh rubin
snatched a compass away from him and then mosh snatched it from him and then they start fighting
And Mosch is basically trying to drown.
Rubin, this is when we finally hear J.L., the crazy bomb nut guy,
speak like on, stop.
Joe said we're going to die if we don't work together.
Yeah, the so-called crazy guy was the most.
Oh, yeah.
Everybody.
I mean, again, he seemed to be the smartest one out of all of them.
it was just weird and psychotic and like to blow things up but um so they kind of all right they
kind of put their shit together and started treaching through the through the water um they come
across uh uh look like a black bear but i don't know if there's i didn't know those bears and
i don't know happened that that's the first thing that popped in my head i was like do
do they have bears no i never remember the forest i don't know i mean if someone in
Florida, you guys know, let us know, because I didn't know it was bears down there.
I'm surprised there was no alligators or anything down there.
Because they came across a bear, that rattlesnake.
Oh, they killed, when Joe was with him, they hunted and killed a boar.
And they were eating ribs that night.
I ought to eat that, too, man.
I don't care as long as it's cooked.
The only thing is, I don't know if I can just eat meat like that without.
At least salt.
I mean, you put, you can put salt on anything and make it taste good.
Not anything, but meat-wise.
Yeah.
And have nothing, nothing to put on it.
But I guess if you're not really eating anything,
anything to eat would probably taste good.
That'll give a little barbecue taste to just eat it.
So, but yeah, that's the stuff they came across.
And they pretty much ate everything except they even ate the snake at one point.
point because after um when dorsey tried to run or he did run and uh he got bit joe came back
carrying dorsey and he had that a rattlesnake with him and he pulled off the skin and i'm sure
he chopped it up and ate it but they didn't show that but so yeah so they're still
just walking through and getting all mad at each other because they're not really sure which
direction they're going they're about to start fighting again and then dorsey kind of like
hey, do you guys hear that?
And there's like music playing.
So they kind of just start following it and they get to and there's a big,
huge party.
I love how they just come out of the bushes.
They look like just like cavemen with the,
they just,
I don't know how hot it is in Florida,
but they just tore off basically all their clothes and made it,
made it all wild looking.
So they see this big party.
There's music going,
kids running around,
big old spread of food.
And they just,
immediately start digging in and eating
and then they see Joe so they run over to Joe
anything either
all right
obviously most of the extras in here
were either Seminole or
Miccosukee I know Seminoles there I'm not sure about
Miccosukee I'm sure someone's yelling at me about it
but I want to say all the extras
were really natives
but Stephen Lang
oh my god man I love him
he's a badass actor I love him just about
everything he's in but
the big
beaded medallion
and the headband I was like
oh okay come on
we already know you're native you don't have to
put on all the
stuff to
to try to fit in
because if you obviously look around
at everyone else nobody has that stuff
on
You know that was wardrobe.
Somebody was like, we got to, we got to add the extras onto this one.
So, so they know, even though you can look at him and say he's not.
So we let him pass.
He had dark hair.
Plus he was badass.
So he told them, he was like, look, you guys, you guys passed.
And because they were all screaming that, man, you just left us out there.
There was a bear.
And there was this and that.
And he goes, well, you guys did it.
You passed.
You guys are the first, and they didn't really understand why he was saying that.
They go, what do you mean?
Because you guys are the first person.
You guys are the first group that passed this, this rehabilitation program.
And they were like, what?
Yeah, we're number one.
And they're all hyped and everything.
So they're just getting ready to party.
But they were like, well, what happened to everyone else?
And then he just kind of gave him that look.
you guys made it.
That's dangerous terrain out there.
Because they even said,
man,
we could have died out there.
And that's when he said,
well,
you guys made it and they didn't.
So I don't know how many times he had done this with other groups,
but they obviously all died somewhere out there.
So the bodies were eating up by alligators or bears or boars or what,
but he said they never made it.
So he was like,
he was there.
He let them party
And he told them, all right, you guys ready for Miami?
And they're like, yeah.
So he told him that they got a house and we're going back to Miami.
So they
Yeah.
It's $1 a year.
He bought a house from the city, a dollar a year.
And it was just like, it was a, they said in Little Havana.
And it was basically a crag den because it was just nothing.
but homeless people and drug addicts.
There was a park across street that was just full of junkies.
And the house they had was all boarded up.
So when they went in, they had to chase out all the crackheads and everything that were in there.
And then they found out that there was a Haitian family that's squatting upstairs.
All right.
So everybody's on the roof and they're just trying to figure out what,
they're going to do.
They got the Haitian family in the house, and they got,
I want to keep calling him Ajax.
Nestor, James Remar.
Either Ajax or Gans from
48 hours.
But, and Cream,
Larry Fishburn.
His character.
Oh, yeah, I,
it's just, this must be
the Larry Fishburn podcast, because
the last few movies he had been in all of them so i always say he's he's action returns hall
of fame yeah he is i mean i i forgot he was in this until they showed him i was like oh fuck
man yeah you got to think about it all the movies we were talking about he's larry fishburn
we haven't even got to lawrence fishburn yet i don't even remember when he turned to that i mean
um namian um three dream warriors he was larry fishburn and no no man
I'll figure it out when, when it changed.
So, yeah, they're trying to figure out what they're going to do.
But Stephen, uh, Steve.
Yeah, Stephen Lang Joe is like, man, it's your guys's call.
We can, but they, they, I don't know, I had a feeling that they didn't want to throw them out.
So, but then they hear some, uh, ruckus downstairs.
And they're like, is that our house?
And they all go running downstairs.
And there's all these drug addicts trying to bust back into the house and the Haitian family.
One of them swinging a machete.
I love how Dorsey just comes running in and just
Boom kicks one of them and and then Joe's kind of like,
Hey man, just calm down, calm down.
And those crack it.
This is our house.
We use this place.
And then they go,
Not anymore.
Get out.
And then they just start pushing everyone out of the street.
And then they kind of just rush them all across the street to the park.
And this is when cream comes rolling up.
I love this part because, no, yeah, after they get them out and then I think maybe a day or so goes by because they're fixing up the house.
I mean, they're fixing the windows, fixing the doors, they're painting over all the graffiti and everything.
Yeah, very, very Miami 80s colors going on here.
And speaking of Miami 80s, I mean, the design of the house is pure, pure, my mind.
Miami 80s style.
I mean, if you guys seen the film and you see the house, I mean, it's, I don't know who the designers were.
But again, I've never been to Miami or anything.
So, but in my Miami is movies.
So, I mean, it just looks like that.
So all the hobos and crackheads are screaming across street while Joe and the gang are fixing up the house.
They write no, no drugs, pimps and push them.
get out or whatever it said they wrote on there.
And Cream and his guys come rolling up.
And then they go,
I ain't no pimps and pushes around here.
And he goes,
and he's like,
this is the guys that are making you move out of the house.
Five punks and tono.
And the racial slurs are all over it in this.
That was really quick.
If I saw Joe, Native American would be the last thing.
I would guess.
Like he said earlier, you know, they put him with the headband and all that kind of stuff.
Mainly he just did it in that one.
He did have a headband later on, but it was just like a black band or anything.
But so, yeah, so Cream kind of realizes what's happening.
and then they go to a
I thought this is a part when they're on the boat
because Joe like are they're just
Joe and them are just trying to fix up the house
and make sure everything's going to run smooth
and hopefully keep all the dealers
and the drug addicts across the street at the park.
They're on a boat. Nestor is talking to Cream
and his boys. Nicky is laying there
sunbathing on the boat
and cream is telling there so look man we got it under control
I mean don't worry about it sales will be back
to where it was and this is when Nestor gets racial
and one of Cream's guys is standing there
kind of checking out Nikki and he just grabs a knife
and jams it in his hand Nikki cover up when there's
inwards around I was like damn
and you know what she didn't even cover up
She didn't even move.
She kind of just like looked and kept laying there.
But I mean, that, I mean, that kind of showed you how hardcore Nestor was.
I mean, looking at him, I mean, I don't know if he could fight.
And I don't know how he became the leader of this big old gang.
And, oh, did we mention another action returns, Hall of Famer?
I was going to say, is it the dude that's like Nestor's like right hand man or something?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm trying to look at trying to look at it out right now.
Paul, uh, um, Calderon.
Yeah.
He's Tito.
He was in, uh, deep cover and King in New York, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So he's right there.
I mean, all the, the Larry Fishburn movies.
He's been doing.
He's been right there with.
them too but um yeah i mean he's he's standing there trying to be all hardcore um because uh so
we go back to the house jo and them are kind of do it um who was it carlos he's kind of like i
i got to find nicky i mean he's just still in love with his chick so he kind of takes off
goes to see one of his friends just one of his buddies goes hey do you know where nicky is and he goes
yeah she's somewhere over here but uh you know let me let me let me let me let's you know
Let me take you upstairs and give you some, some Pimp clothes, some Miami Pimp clothes to wear.
So he comes down, I'll fit it up in the silk and everything.
And he goes to Nikki's apartment.
She's still 16, maybe 17.
I don't know how much time has gone by, but Carlos goes in there and like, what's all this?
I mean, you didn't have this before and why are you living here?
And kind of basic tell, just screaming at her.
Oh, you're fucking Nestor and some tried to speak Spanish and it didn't sound right.
She's a horrible liar.
It's my friend's condo.
What is this men's cologne doing here?
Oh, I like wearing that for fun.
I'm out of here.
Yeah.
I mean, he should have just left and just didn't even worry about her.
But he was, he was so strong.
He just, he's like, nah, because he tried leaving.
And that's when, uh, oh,
She kind of followed him.
And then when he got down to the lobby, that's when Nestor and Tito were down there.
Yeah, which that scene makes no sense because Nestor's like, you know, snapping his fingers.
Like, come.
And then she's about to start walking.
And he's just like, no, stay with me.
I was like, you was just about to leave her.
I know.
And now you're like, no, come with me.
Like, you know, it's.
Plus, Nestor's got all his, all his people there.
It's not going to work like that.
No way.
Tito's already got his hand on a pistol grip ready to pull it out.
And then he just, Nestor kind of just tells, um, Carlos like, hey, man, you're, you're done.
You're, your, your Miami privileges are done.
Get out of town.
So Carlos just kind of walks away and he ends up going back, uh, to the house.
Um, I assume the next day.
Joe and everyone are still out there trying to fix up the house.
He comes up and tells him, oh, you're back.
I mean, because all they got, oh, Ruben, like, oh, man, he comes the, the Latin lover.
And they all start laughing around.
And then he just kind of jumps back in and starts working, helping him fix things.
I like this part.
Two, like a big car came rolling up and then some kind of Jeep or whatever.
It was the, what were the gangs called again?
The homeboys or whatever.
It was the homeboys.
And it right here.
was the home boys and the 27th Avenue players.
The whole boys were the Cuban guys and,
no, not Cuban, the Puerto Rican guys and the,
whatever players were black guys.
That was Moss's crew and Ruben's crew.
They kind of came up and they were,
they still had beef, but they didn't really know.
I assume Moss and Rubin were the leaders,
the way they all came up.
And they kind of like,
Moss was like,
Hey man,
what's up with those paint brushes?
And then Ruben just throws that,
throws it one at him.
And they kind of go back and forth,
looking at each other,
and then they commence to painting the house.
You got all their boys standing there
on the sidewalk,
screaming at them,
laughing at them.
Ha, you're stupid.
Why are you painting the house like this?
Just saying it's dumb things.
And Moss kind of turns to one of the,
um,
the Puerto Rican guys.
He goes,
he can you do better?
Next thing you know,
they got the homeboys
and the,
the player guys
all up there painting
the house
while Ruben and Moss
are just sitting there
giving orders.
So I assume they were
the leaders to get all the boys
to paint the house.
Yeah,
and if you go back and watch,
some of them ain't,
even doing anything.
Like this one guy,
he's like,
he's like up there like pop
blocking.
And I guess he's trying to do it while painting, but you can see the rollers not even touch the building.
So they got the whole house in order.
Joe is still trying to figure out what they're going to do.
He goes to the police station and is trying to talk to, I assume, one of the higher-ups to get funding for his program because he's telling him, look, it works.
I got these five guys that were all at each other's throats.
We got them all working together.
And it just,
it's all politics with stuff like this.
I mean,
that one,
whoever he was a lieutenant or whatever,
he was kind of like,
all right,
man,
I'll just,
I'll look at it and,
and do whatever.
Because he,
I think it's just more of,
on paper,
okay,
detective Brian allowed these guys to,
to do whatever and make it look good for, I assume, the higher-ups.
Because, man, they obviously don't give a shit.
I mean, Joe does.
He puts his time into these five guys and however many before that didn't make it.
Because there was, he was, Joe was looking at a piece of paper and it said to, no, no, no, that, that higher-up guy, that one detective guy told him, I think he was lieutenant.
He told him, hey, man, I don't know if we're going to do this because what happened to those two other guys that you had?
And then they ended up getting shot dead trying to rob a 7-Eleven.
And he was just, Joe was like, I mean, he still has to live with that because they were a part of his program.
But he's like, man, this is different.
And then I got these guys to all work together.
And the detective guy, like, eh, or lieutenant.
All right, man, you'll get your money.
So just leave me alone.
So, I mean, it's all politics and bullshit between them.
But Joe kind of goes back and lets them know what's up.
Oh, just jumping forward because it was just kind of talking and all that.
Creaming the guys after they got, they had their meeting with Nestor,
when Nestor told him, you need to go there and just get them.
Carlos ended up going back to Nikki.
and trying to smooth things over.
One thing leads to another,
he ends up beating it up,
and she's telling them,
look, I got $10,000.
We can go anywhere we want.
Maybe back in the 80s,
maybe in 86.
You can do a lot with $10,000,
but you're in 2021.
Yeah, that's a lot of money,
but you pay all your bills and then that's it.
Any rent or your mortgage gone.
So he,
He was going to leave with her.
They did jump in the car and they started going.
And she had mentioned to him about Nestor and about him stabbing someone in the hand.
And then she mentioned that, yeah, that cream and the guys are going to go after these kids and some Indian.
And then Carlos was like, what?
And she goes, yeah, they're going to hit him tonight.
So he turns the car around.
We go back to the house.
Dorsey is on the roof.
Oh, let me go back really quick.
We totally skipped the scene when Cream and them showed up during the day.
And because Joe and them were all outside playing basketball.
And Cream and his boys came up and pulled guns on him.
And then Joe ended up kind of sweeping the leg from Cream and taking the gun away from him.
and made all those creams guys pulled after
they all had like submachine guns
and I don't know one of those guns
look crazy it looked like a spear gun but I wasn't sure
I wasn't sure what it was and all their pistols
and everything and uh Dorsey's like he's got a gun
to his neck and he goes ah you should have killed me
Tano and all that and Joe's like yeah you guys just get the
fuck out of here because he made them put all their guns
down. And then they said, all right, collect them all. So the boys just took all the guns and
cream and those guys all took off. I think that's when they went to Nestor and got stabbed
in the hand and all that. So they had all these weapons, machine guns and everything. And then Joe
knew that cream and the guys were going to come back. So he goes, look, if you guys want to do
this, or you guys don't, he told him, you guys don't have to do this. You, you can leave.
So they're like, now we're going to hang out with you.
He goes, all right, then we need to learn how to fight.
So that's when he did the whole training system, a training session to where they were
learning how to shoot guns and everything.
So then this is, that's when Carlos left and everything.
And they, Nikki told him that they were going to come and go after them.
So that's when they go racing back to the house.
Dorsey is on the roof.
and he's just kind of just walking, doing his posts,
keeping a lookout, and here comes cream and the rest of the gang.
And they just immediately start opening up,
opening fire onto the house.
Just bullets flying everywhere.
Dorsey's on the roof.
He's letting them have it.
Everyone else, Joe and everyone goes,
all right, you guys know what to do.
And they get in your position.
So everyone's got their guns and they're ready to go.
one of the one of the one of the one of the one of the cream's guys through um i assume a maltof cocktail or something
into the house because the the front of the house caught fire so they were like ah so they
were kind of running downstairs that whole Haitian family was still in there too so i assume they
maybe they went out of the back but all the guy joe and the guys kind of run outside uh start
ducking behind cars and there's a big old shootout war on the street
Um, mainly all the cream guys are getting shot up.
And then, um, I think Joe jumped down the street and, um, cream's car was coming at him.
And he shot that up, killed the driver and they got and then they flipped over.
Oh, no, that's when, um, what's his name showed up in the convert.
That's right.
And you play a little, little chicken with them and they jumped out of the car and they kind of, I thought it was going to be more.
of like a head-hour collision, but it ended up flipping Cream's car.
Yeah, because I think that cream and them turned and then
and that's what flipped their car.
I don't know where Nicky was.
I think she got out like a blocker so away.
Yeah, he had made her get out.
And Carlos just dove out and did the tuck and roll.
So they're kind of all outside and there's dead bodies laying everywhere.
And Cream, they, Joe's standing there.
Trying to help.
No, none of them got hit.
So Cream comes crawling out of his car.
He pulls out his gun.
They're like, Joe, watch out.
Cream starts shooting.
Joe starts shooting.
Both of them basically kill each other.
Cream gets off full of holes and Joe takes a few.
And they're like, oh, man, what are we going to do?
You can hear the police were coming.
Because you can hear all the sirens.
And they're like, come on, man, we got to go.
We got to go.
So everyone, they just jump in their car and they all take off.
They come back later after everything is all good.
No, they ended up taking Joe's body with them because they go to his tribe out on the
Res and they're doing the traditional Mikisuki burial.
I don't know.
I mean,
each tribe is different
with their tribal tradition,
with their burial traditions.
So,
I don't know.
You guys are as guess as good as mine.
Navajos don't do it that way,
but there is natives that do,
that burn the bodies and everything.
So then they're kind of like,
well, what are we going to do?
Well,
I mean,
they all go back to the house.
The house is ram-sacked.
Crackheads and all,
ladder back in there. The Haitian family's gone.
It's like, I don't know, maybe days must have went by because they, like,
graffitied up that whole inside quick and, uh, wrecked the,
wreck the whole house. So they're all kind of there and they're like,
well, all right, man, well, I'll see you guys. And then everyone
kind of just leaves.
So, um,
I love this scene, though, because,
Because there's a camera slowly going through the house and there's the score in the background was cool.
And then it turns out that Dorsey comes walking in the house and he's looking at all the,
Joe had a lot of files on all of them.
And he had pictures of his group when he was in Vietnam.
So he starts looking around.
Then he looks up and then here comes Rubin.
here comes Nikki and Carlos, here comes JL, all everybody came back.
And they're kind of just sitting in that room.
All right, well, if we're all here, we got to do this together.
And Carlos is telling me, goes, this is all Nestor's doing.
Because a cream was a part of that.
So we got to, um, we got to take them out.
We got to take him out to bring everything out.
They're basically avenge Joe.
So, yeah.
that's when they're like all right
and that's when that's when they
one of them finds a picture and they're looking at it
and it says band of the hand
because it's Joe and all his buddies
from Vietnam and they're all
holding their hands up so
they're going by what
Joe was teaching them
like to be together
to be a unit a unit to be
the fingers of a hand a band
I liked when he said all that
that made a lot of sense
yeah so they're like
all right, so they're slowly figuring out what they're doing.
They start scouting out.
They find out to where Nestor's drug barn or whatever that was.
His whole drug operation out on the Everglades somewhere.
And that was the main thing just to find out where it was.
This is the scene when they go in to that hardware store and start buying all the
stuff, the go for gas and everything.
All that whole scene that Brian was talking about earlier.
But yeah, man, I know I won't do it.
And I never had any interest in doing that.
The only thing is I blew up were fireworks.
But J.L, man, he was the, the pyro.
They knew how to make bombs.
So that was the kind of the main reason they got a lot of that stuff.
So they all load up
They figure out what they're gonna do
They they figure out a plan
All right this is how we're gonna do it
And
All right
We gotta do it
So the night comes
Oh they were
Nestor was waiting for I think
Some Colombians to come in
Because they were supposed to do a big drug deal
All right once Nikki saw that
Because she did some surveillance things
And that's what made me laugh about this
These little teenagers
know how to do surveillance
and oh yeah they were taught out
to shoot machine guns and all that so
I can let that slide but
she wasn't there for all this
training she acted like she was just
jumped right in and she knew what she was
doing because I mean jumping forward to the end
she was running around with a machine gun and
shotgun and everything at the end
I was like hey wait a minute
but yeah she's supposed to be only like
16 17 yeah
17 maybe I mean
I don't know how much time went by,
but she was 16 when,
when it all started,
because that's when Nestor asked her
before I told her,
go upstairs and take your clothes off.
Yeah.
I was like,
God damn.
Oh, you're 16?
Oh, go upstairs, man.
It's like, wow.
Holy shit.
So she runs back
to the clubhouse.
They weren't in that house anymore
because the house was done.
They looked like they were hiding
somewhere else.
But she,
She goes, yeah, the Columbia, excuse me, the Colombians are here.
So, uh, they are all right, man, it's, it's now or never.
So let's go.
So they geared up.
I mean, they even, um, what's his name?
Uh, JL.
He was telling him.
He was, because like, he was making bombs, I guess.
And they, are you ready?
He's like, no, man, not ready yet.
And he goes, we got to go right now.
So like, oh, fuck.
So they all go tearing off after, um, ever.
Because they did follow, follow.
follow the guys earlier
and they
followed
because I guess they went to some front
where they were exchanging the drugs
or no they were getting
was it ether they were getting
I think so
yeah because I don't know what it does
my knowledge from drugs is movies
but whatever the ether does
for this big drug
organization
I think I think they use it to
the drugs yeah I don't know all my hands up I don't know yeah I know I saw that in a
movie the knowledge I know no one was making it well I think it was a who was it
first bad boys they were running around in an ice cream truck full of ether
or something yeah did you like that last one I liked most of it there's a
it's been out long enough real quick I just say I didn't like the the resolution with him and the
dude that was his son yeah like he he just he fucking murdered your captain who was like
there for you guys for I don't know how many years it's just I don't know I mean I love the
first one out of the three um second part was cool I like that one
And the third one, bad boys for life.
I don't know.
I mean, it was what it was.
I'm sure we'll get to it at some point.
Yeah.
But anyway, so they all load up and they all go taking off over to where Nestor has this big drug operation going on.
Out in the middle of nowhere, I assume somewhere close to the Everglades.
because they had like a double fence around it and they had dogs patrolling in between the fences,
guys on the roofs,
machine guns, guys walking around out in the little wooded area.
So they kind of, I mean, for having that much security, oh, no, that's right.
Let me go back really quick.
They had a dog with them.
At this point when they all loaded up with the dog, we didn't know what the dog was for.
So when they got there, like I said, there was some Doverman pinchers walking in between the fences.
So they went and they cut a hole in the fence and then they go, all right, man.
The other dogs were coming.
And they said, are you sure this dog's in heat?
And they were like, yeah.
So when the Dovermans were coming, they let go of the female dog that they had.
And all those Doverman, I think it was like about five of them went, shoo.
I hope that dog got away.
Yeah, he was about to have a bad night.
And there's one of them
But he goes boss
He goes man
I'm glad those dogs are horny
So
They go in
They had their whole operation
planned out on
This is where you're gonna be
This is what I'm doing in this
So I mean they went in there
With a plan
They didn't just show up
And just start shooting
So LJ gets in
He makes it over to the building
And he starts dumping
That gopher gas
Into the
filtration system.
While that was happening, Nestor was
downstairs with the Colombians
and he was showing him the layout and how much
product they could make and everything's
going to be all good.
And he was telling him that the
little filtration in the air
system blows out everything
and there's no smell.
So they'd be all right.
But shit, I mean,
DEA, whoever showed up, man,
of course they're going to know something's going on there.
Got a hundred guys outside with guns
walking around.
So while they're doing that, they're all setting up.
Carlos climbed up this big tower that was, I don't know where it was.
And he was the sniper of the group.
Because earlier when they were doing the training, Joe was kind of teaching him how to do it.
I mean, he taught all these guys how to do it in a matter of days.
So, I mean, they were just fast learners.
But all right.
I don't know what it takes to be a real.
really good shooter, but I'm sure it takes more than a couple days.
So, okay, so everyone's setting up.
They're all getting ready to go in.
Nikki's kind of hanging behind outside the fence.
I assume just waiting.
So one of Nestor's guys comes walking out, and he sees L.J.
dumping that gopher gas into the thing.
So he kind of walks over there.
He's getting ready to shoot him.
Carlos sees him.
This is what starts it off.
and then everyone just
ah everyone just starts shooting in every direction
uh moss and
what's is nuts
uh rubin
and dorsey they all just
they just all start open fire and pretty much
at whoever they can see
so right when that I love this part
because when they started shooting
the light the floodlights came on and just lit up the whole place
and the look on their face is like oh fuck
what do we do and they just started shooting
and then um
What was the guy's name?
The dude that's been on all the movies.
I can't remember his name in this.
I said it earlier, but I forgot it one.
Anyway, it was that Carlos guy?
Yeah, the Dan.
A Quinn.
Yeah, him.
So he, no, no, no, Carlos was Carlos, the kid.
It was the other dude.
He was in King of New York.
All that.
What the hell was his name?
I'm not going to be able to sleep until I remember.
He was in King.
He was the bartender in Pulp Fiction, and he was in deep cover as well.
Got a mole on his face.
God damn, I what's his name?
See, sorry, everyone.
I mean, I guess I should have had this all.
Well, Tito.
Paul.
called him
so they're running around
trying to get everything
going and just shooting in every direction
this
there's like a it looked like a
smoke stack or something kind of like a little tower
type of thing coming out of the top of the roof of the building
the walls fall down from that
and then here's Tito with a
fucking Gatlin gun and just
just starts firing
at Mars and Carlos
and Dorsey and all they all
they all go
go running and dive behind a limo.
I don't know what size of bullets fit in those things,
but man,
they,
he shredded up that,
um,
that car that they were hiding behind.
And,
uh,
they kept,
they kept doing it.
They were,
they'd shoot when he was trying to reload.
They'd come jumping out,
try shooting again.
And Tito would just start lighting them up.
Uh,
Carlos was,
he was picking them all.
He was just picking fools off.
Uh,
he got a good shot.
He took out Tito,
uh,
when he was in that,
uh,
The little Gatling gun thing.
So he kind of,
he went down.
So the guys came running out and we're trying to shoot again.
But some other dude came running up, jump behind that gun.
And you just started opening fire.
L.J.
crawled up onto the roof.
He had a little bomb he made.
He threw that in there, blew that up, kill that dude.
And everyone was just firing in all directions.
Nestor comes out and makes it out.
um so they and then the um
LJ he comes running and jumps off the roof
and then I assume I don't know if he broke his ankle or just twisted it but he's
like ah so everyone kind of runs over to grab him
uh they rescue LJ
and all of a sudden as they kind of got away
um he had set up some bombs in there um
moss he went up and blew a hole in one of the doors and then he threw bombs
in there as well.
So with the, those bombs, other than the ones that LJ set up, the whole place just blew up.
I don't know if everyone got out that was in the basement, but I mean, the whole place blew up.
So they were all taken off.
We go to Nikki.
She's out patrolling still trying to keep it.
And then we see Nestor come walking around.
He's got a gun, but it's out of bullets.
So he just kind of sets it down.
He's looking at Nikki and walks up to her.
goes hey come on give me the gun and he walks up to a real slow and grabs it she's holding a shotgun
right when he grabs a barrel she pumps one and pumps a couple into him yeah see this is where
I would have liked the black magic to come in like she wouldn't be able to like hurt him or something
like she can't bring herself to he should have did something I mean yeah that whole black
magic thing led to nothing so yeah I would have just liked if he'd
put some kind of spell on her to where she can't bring herself to hurt him and it would have
it would have been like Carlos or somebody else that had to kill him yeah i mean i was all right
that she was the one that killed him because he basically raped her uh so and had her doing who
knows what else because before before all this happened uh nestor told uh tito he goes yeah
go find that bitch and then just do what you got to do with her and then kill you
her. So they were, they were gonna rape and kill her. So I was all right that she was the one that
killed him. So Nestor's dead. The whole blaze is blown up. There's bodies laying everywhere. I'm
sure some people got away. But there's a big huge fire out because they're out in the middle of
nowhere and it's all flat. So I'm sure they see all the flames and the smoke. So they kind of jump
in their little Jeep and go hauling ass down the road. As they're driving down the road, they come
across a little roadblock with the police and they kind of just roll up.
I mean, again, these are all teenagers and they're like, hey, what's going on, officer?
And he kind of just looks in, shines a light in everyone's face and they're all smiling.
And you're not going to think anything other than a bunch of kids cruising around.
We saw the fire back there.
What's going on?
I don't know.
You probably know more than I do.
And they go, all right.
And he goes, they just take it easy on the, on the beer tonight, kids.
Yeah, I like how they changed up their, their voices.
Yeah, all of them did.
Even, is everything all right, officer?
What do what you got to do to get away?
Oh, yeah.
So they're like, all right, you guys get out of here.
So they're like, all right, good night, see ya.
And they all take off.
And then that's, that's a movie.
So for your first watch, what did you think of this one?
I loved it.
I loved all the characters.
I thought there was some good action.
I just kind of like these stories where you take, you know,
these individual like people, kids, whatever,
that don't have anything to do with each other.
I don't want nothing to do with each other.
And they got to end up working together.
And yeah, like I said earlier,
I did have a problem with Stephen Lang as Joe,
because I know Stephen Lang and I think they could.
to put somebody else in that role.
Nestor played by
what was it, James Remar?
Yeah, really loved.
I love him as a villain.
I think he plays that villain role
because, you know, of course, Albert Gans
and many other roles he was in.
Definitely loved him in it.
And, of course, got a shout out, Larry Fishburn.
Cream.
Action Returns Hall of Famer.
Oh, man.
All right.
Let me read what the poster says.
From the maker of, from the maker of Miami Vice, out of jail, trained as a team,
they battle to clean up the streets of Miami is about to begin.
Did they try to clean up the streets of Miami?
Maybe that block that they would clean up the block in the park.
Yeah, the neighborhood.
That was about it.
But I guess it's a start.
I was kind of hoping, I mean, when I first saw the.
man I was like man that was hell of good I was kind of thinking there could have been a part two
maybe they just became this little special unit force and just were taking out more drug
dealers I mean I would like to have known what happened to them after this what did they do
that they just go their separate directions or did they stay together and bring down crime I don't know
but as far as a one and done film I mean it's cool but I would like to have known
What happened to them.
I mean, I don't know if there was any
Um,
ideas that they were going to do a sequel, but I don't know.
But for overall, I mean, I thought this was a really good film for me going in and seeing it for the very first time,
not knowing, uh, what it was about or what I was expected.
I don't even remember much, uh, of a trailer.
Um, when this came out.
Because I just, my cousin, like, hey, man, let's go see this movie.
Okay, cool.
all I knew was whoever made Miami Vice made it
so we went and saw it and I was fucking I was like man
that was hell of good so I mean I love this film
I don't even know I saw it a few times in the theater
and then once it did the HBO's and all that
and VHS and all that so I'm fine I'm glad that it
that it came out on Blu-ray because this film was awesome
as far as streaming I don't know I know you can rent it
but I don't know but of those of you that have seen it you know
but if you have not seen this,
it's definitely worth the rental.
From what I see here,
it's only $2.99 on Prime.
I got,
I got,
I got some trivia here.
Critics have described the film
as a poor 1970s
vigilante movie produced
a decade too late.
At the 1986 Stinkers,
bad movie awards,
the film was nominated for Worst Picture,
but lost to Howard the Duck.
We were just,
talking about Howard the Duck on
our last Blue Ray update.
All right, everyone.
I love Howard the Duck. I don't care what
anybody says. I love the comic books.
I love the character.
Did George Lucas just kill it for everyone?
Okay.
But I took that movie for what
it was. I mean, again, I always
say this. Look at the year
when it came out.
Obviously,
it was
1986, so
I don't know what to tell you guys.
You saw the Howard D. Duck, didn't you?
Yeah, I owned it.
Steelbook?
I got it on.
No, no.
I did.
There is one out.
I got it.
Okay.
I saw it to FYE exclusive.
I was like,
damn you.
So I had to get it.
Plus, I got the regular go around.
A VHS somewhere in one of these boxes.
But that's another show, everybody.
Howard the Duck, if you guys haven't seen it.
But band of the hand, it's an amazing film.
I love it.
I never get sick of it.
And I'm sure we already talked about this earlier, but you heard it from one of us talking about this?
Yeah, I think it was, I think you might have talked about it on East Society.
I think it was, I don't know.
I felt like it was an episode of you and Mike.
we're talking about it or something.
One of
one of those many shows.
I don't know.
I don't remember half the shit that I say on all these shows.
All right, everyone.
That's Band of the Hand.
Again, if you haven't seen it,
it's definitely worth your watch.
I mean, it is kind of a slow burn,
but if you're familiar with Miami Vice and all that,
it has that vibe.
Or like it's like the vibe of the Michael Man movies.
I guess it's slow, but I mean, it's still a good film, though, everybody in it.
Not really sure on much of what actors continue to do more, well, other than Lauren Holly and Leon.
We've seen him in a bunch of things.
Michael Carmon died.
He was only 30 years old.
Yeah, Stephen Lang's still going.
He's got that
Don't Breathe 2.
I need to watch that first one again.
I mean, I don't even remember.
He didn't die.
Well, obviously he didn't.
If he's coming back for the second one.
No, they said he lived at the end.
I don't even remember that.
I need to watch it again.
It was like the main chick
saw at the airport on TV
and the news that he was assaulted or something.
Danny Quinn, the guy that played Carlos.
I don't know what he's doing.
The last thing he did was in 2014, so
lives in Italy. Leon, he
pops up in things here and there.
L.J., I know he's a director now,
and looks like he's still out there doing it.
Al Shannon, the guy that played Dorsey,
this is the only thing I've seen him in.
I guess he was
Last thing he did was in 2010
We already know where Lawrence Fishburn's at
He's still going strong on blackish and
Perry White and
DC films
James Remar
Is he going to be in the new
Dexter
I would think so
He's
He's still
He's something
Oh he's gonna be in black lightning
The TV series
or he is and no it hasn't even come out yet oh no wait black lightning has been out already had it says
2018 i haven't watched it so i don't know yeah um uh yeah that's black black lightning i assume
he's still doing that because it says 2021 um i don't see anything for
texture or is it still in the talking face is still making it
they're filming.
Well, then he has to be in it.
I mean, if you guys are familiar with the Dexter show,
I mean, he was Dexter's dad.
All right, really quick.
We've talked about him,
how he just plays bad guys and a lot of things.
It goes back and forth.
Sometimes he's good.
Sometimes he's bad,
but we all prefer him as a bad dude.
When I first started watching Dexter,
I didn't know he was in it.
I was kind of like,
I like bad to James Reamore.
But as the series went on,
I really liked what he did.
I liked his code.
Like, if you have to kill people, kill people that deserve it.
Don't just kill random people.
So I kind of liked all that.
Yeah, I think Stephen Lang and Lawrence Fishburn and James Verm are the only ones that are kind of really doing it.
Lauren Holly, she was big back in the day.
And I don't know what happened to her.
was she in
no she wasn't in that last
uh
dumb and dumber
movie
um
we got something coming out called the jugular
she's in
tiny pretty things
TV series I don't know what that is
I guess she's still out there
but
yeah I'm looking
I don't know what any of these movies
or shows are
I don't either
but
all right everyone
Brian, just let everyone know what we're doing next.
The next, don't usually do this, but I give everybody the next three episodes will be nothing but mortal combat.
It's got to start with that 1995 one.
And then the annihilation one.
But hopefully, hopefully fingers crossed the 2021 new version, the rebrand.
boot will
hopefully be the best one
out of the series.
Did you see that other one
with black dynamite
Michael
Jack White?
Yeah, it was it, Mortal Kombat
Legacy.
It's all right.
I have it. I haven't watched it. I bought
that one one that's got the first
the original two and that one in it.
so and then
Best Buy got me with the
Steelbook so I had to get that
Did you get it?
Yeah
They got me
Damn you
So but
I was going to try to reach out to
This guy, you know
He was in the second one
He is pretty busy
I don't know if I
Can get a response
But I'm gonna shoot for it and see
I can get a couple words from him
On what he remembered
about filming Mortal Kombat, too.
I won't tell you who it is,
because until I know exactly
if I can talk to him, everyone,
so just keep your fingers crossed.
But, all right, everyone.
That's next three.
Prepare for Combat.
And I guess can't add those songs.
Yeah, we ain't doing that.
No, not anymore.
But everyone,
Thank you so much for listening.
Stream Fiends is coming up within the next couple of days,
and we're doing Russell, not Russell,
um,
Walter here,
Walter Hills,
uh,
the long riders,
um,
James Remar is also in that.
No Lawrence Fishburn,
but,
um,
yeah,
I got a lot to say about James Remar's character.
It did that one,
but,
um,
yeah,
so get ready for that one and everything else.
East society,
we got more stuff.
Um,
just,
mainly thing we've been pumping out is on anchor
but we do have a regular episode coming
so definitely check out our anchor feed
follow us on Facebook and all that
and yeah
everything on horror returns I always put everything
over there as well on the
Facebook group so
please be safe out there
and come back next time
until then party on
and over at the horror returns
we're going to check out
what is it Jacobs Wai
wife, starring
Barbara Crampton, new vampire
movie, and because
oh no, wait,
I'm getting my weeks. Yeah, we are doing that one.
And we're also doing night
2013's Byzantium,
which is also a vampire movie.
And week after that,
we got werewolf movies
coming with bloodthirsty
and because Lance has never
seen it, dog soldiers.
So until then, everybody
stays safe.
