Starting point is 00:00:00 Don't calm down with the rats. What? I have a thing with rats. You have a thing with rats? Yes. And you're on a team with me? Not something I asked for. You're laughing at me for, man.
Starting point is 00:00:14 Why the fuck are you in your underwear? Tightly white ease? Really? Now that's just racist. No, it's not right. Oh, come. Fuck on. Baby, I need some passion tonight.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Welcome back, everybody. Again, we are back again. The action returns. I'm your host, Brian, and with me as always is my brother, Nez. What's up, man? Good, man. Everyone was back finally with a movie that everybody's seen. Everybody's talked about it, but we're late to the party.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Again, my fault. A movie that there are a few people that did not like it. Well, you guys already know what we're talking about. we're talking about the suicide squad. Here's the deal. We failed admission. You die. The information you give us is false.
Starting point is 00:01:17 You die. If we find you a personalized license place, you don't. What? No. You know the deal? Complete permission. You get 10 years off your sentence. Nothing like a blood bath to start the day.
Starting point is 00:01:28 No one likes to show up. What, don't? This serious, that's kind of our thing. This, from what I heard, first from what I heard is this was just, going to be a reboot of it. But from now, I'm hearing that this does have to, this is after the first one. Yeah. So I'm like, okay.
Starting point is 00:01:56 I mean, I'm all right with it. I mean, of course, some of the, well, some of the cast came back. And there's a lot of new characters. But for everyone that did have read the book, the comics and everything, they knew a lot of these characters. My son didn't know who anybody was. And I remember them vaguely, but I knew who they were. I know D.C. is still, still way, way behind with the movies. But I'll give you my first thoughts on that.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I thought this one was awesome. I loved it. I wasn't expecting much. Edgisalva, awesome. Stallone as King Shark. Of course, John Sina as a peacemaker, which his show is coming. They said it's done. And I'm not sure exactly when it's coming out.
Starting point is 00:02:56 So it's filmed. It's ready to go. I'm going to say we get it before the years over. Okay, good. I hope so. Because John Cena was badass. King Shark was badass. You know who kind of?
Starting point is 00:03:14 stole it for me. Just, I mean, outside of King Shark, a rat catcher two. I ended up fucking loving her. Beautiful. I think she's from Portugal, Portuguese. Beautiful actress.
Starting point is 00:03:29 And that was an actual real rat that she was carrying around the whole movie. What's his face? Michael Rooker as savant. I mean, of course, that's James Gunn's boy. the court directed by james gun that's his boy he's in just about everything uh of his and it was cool um
Starting point is 00:03:54 uh poca dot man david i'm not even gonna try to try his last name you guys remember him from ant man and wasp and all that the dark night yeah yeah we we almost we almost got him on the show oh really yeah not not like almost but he had he he he has a comic book out that he uh he uh helps right and uh i i had posted it and then he had said something on in one of the comments and then i was trying to get him to come on but no dice but off is still there man come on man you can give us a few minutes but uh it was awesome to see uh uncle lloyd coffman um they show him really quick i've got guys don't know who lord coffman you probably wouldn't even know who he was so I was he's also uh James Gunn's buddy he James Gunn started off in
Starting point is 00:04:49 the whole Tromaville family so that's cool it's good to see um people that start off with trauma I mean a lot of people have started off with trauma and have gone to bigger bigger things it's good trauma's still out there Lloyd Coffin amazing amazing man I've had many conversations with them and I love everything he does I know trauma isn't everybody's bag baby but it's definitely my bag so jai cordney came back as captain boomerang of course uh harley quinn uh what's her nuts margot rabi yeah her um and uh what's her name um god dang it are you talking about Amanda waller no uh um I'm trying to pull it up everyone sorry my internet internet internet
Starting point is 00:05:45 is, well, it's faster than it was. Where is she? Viola Davis. That's it. Okay. Yeah, Amanda Waller, duh. Yeah, her. So it was good to see her, her character back. Pete Davidson
Starting point is 00:06:02 as Blackguard, I like Pete's Pete Davidson. He's funny. Nathan Philean. TDK. Yeah. He's a good actor, man. But they, I don't know if it's just his stick
Starting point is 00:06:17 on not lasting he's not his show killer I know a lot of people call him that but and Sean Gunn as the weasel that character was just I didn't like do I don't like how the
Starting point is 00:06:33 weasel looked and I don't know what it is I'm not one of those guys for for for Pocodots it doesn't bother me on the paper but for some reason it looked weird on him on his face when the polka dot man's
Starting point is 00:06:48 polka dot started coming out of that I didn't I didn't like it it was just kind of eerie and creepy and creep me out in it
Starting point is 00:06:56 like it just added to his character though because I didn't know when they said polka dot man I was like this is just going to be like a throwaway
Starting point is 00:07:06 character but there's just so many levels to him and it worked for me so another standout
Starting point is 00:07:14 character PolkaDop man. Yeah. John Cena, Peacemaker, his character did kind of look like that in the books.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Cool. And I remember when I first saw him like in costume, not during the movie, like just production shots and everything. I was kind of like,
Starting point is 00:07:38 really? But all right. But then again, I mean, when they first started announcing this film, they were showing, they showed a poster with a billion people on it. And then when Ziso and I were talking about it on Issa's side, I was like,
Starting point is 00:07:55 you know pretty much everybody on this, the picture of the showin's going to die, right? And we both kind of agreed to that. And I pulled the ones, I said, you know, John Cena is not going to die. You know, Edges Alba is going to be, or at least make it for a while. And you know Harley Quinn, Margo Robbie, was going to make it all the way. I said, but some of these other ones, when I saw Nathan Philly and I said, he's dead. I'll tell you that right now. There was some that when they died and how quick they died, I was kind of like, wow.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Yeah. I mean, I thought they were at least going to go for a little while before the death and all that happened. I mean, because they kick you in the face right from the get-go. Yeah, they do. So I was like, damn. Quick synopsis. I'll read Google. I don't have them.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Come on. I don't have a... Oh, man, don't tell me you're acting up. Now, what happened? Oh, here we go. Google, assembled a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated supervillains, provided them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal to send them off on a mission
Starting point is 00:09:17 to defeat and enigment? Wait, how the fuck? Whatever. In the serviceable entity, U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller determined only to secretly convert the group to desperate, despicable individuals with the next to nothing to lose. will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed,
Starting point is 00:09:43 but chosen for their patient capability when they inevitably fail. Will the suicide squad resolve to die trying or decide is every man for himself? That's a long one. Yeah, what is... I got IMDV right here. Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport,
Starting point is 00:10:05 peacemaker, and a collection of nutty cons. I have Belray prison joined the super secret shady, super secret super shady task force X as they are dropped off at the remote enemy infuse island of Corto Maltese. Yeah, directed by James Gunn. It came out August 6 months ago. Well, well, last month. It felt like this came out a while ago. It's already did its run on HBO Max, but give it a few more weeks. it'll be back there.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Yeah, that steel book looks nice, too. When does that hit? Pull it up. I've just seen it. Speaking of Steelbooks, did Justice League not have one? The X-Night is? The Steelbook?
Starting point is 00:10:54 You know, it's the damnedest thing, because I had it in my saved, you know, where you can save stuff on your Best Buy account. Uh-huh. Because it just kept, it was there,
Starting point is 00:11:06 but it just says not available. So I was like, okay, I'll keep it in my save. And then one day, you know, getting close to the date of release, it wasn't there anymore. All right. So I searched for it and couldn't find it. So I went to Google and Googled. And then the link for it pops up on Google. And then when you click it, it goes to Best Buy and it just says not found.
Starting point is 00:11:31 So, okay, because I remember seeing it going, all right, I'll pre-order one. once it's up so it was there all right it wasn't just my imagination and they did you say f it and no I hope not oh man because I don't want to buy I don't did it is it even on 4k I think it yeah I think it everything came out I think it just because a suicide squad comes out the October 26 steel book okay Um I gotta pay $30 for the 4K Or just stick with Blurracks
Starting point is 00:12:15 I'm gonna I'm gonna wait Because I think they're eventually gonna release The Steelbook Oh man they're gonna get me These Black Widow Steelbook already sold out Yeah I have to
Starting point is 00:12:31 Have to brave the stores and go pick that one Yeah They usually right before It comes out They release some more but yeah I'm definitely going to pick this one up I had the other one I don't even know what I do I got to rewatch that one again I just remember I hated it so it's it's now I rewatched it before the new one came out and I just I remember I didn't hate it as much as I
Starting point is 00:13:01 did the first time I watched it but you can clearly see all this talk of a David Ayer cut it does exist. If you watch it again, there's so many cut pieces and cut scenes and it just, it looks like, so whoever edited it just went to work on it. And this cannot,
Starting point is 00:13:24 that cannot be the final product. So, I mean, you release the Snyder cut, release the air cut. Why not? I say they will at some point. No one thought
Starting point is 00:13:40 the, the Snyder cut, was going to do anything because everyone hated the first one. I thought it was. Sorry about the crime baby. It's bedtime everyone. I thought it was okay. But I did rewatch it after watching the Snyder cut.
Starting point is 00:13:59 And I'm like, man, it's a totally different movie. And I don't like that one anymore because I thought the Snyder cut was fucking awesome. I loved it. Spoiler alert. It's definitely on my list for comic book movies for East Society. But this one, the Suicide Squad, definitely gave that movie a run for its money. Because this one, I mean, the Task Force X, I mean, they end up going to an island right from the get-go. And then all hell breaks loose.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I mean, they were sent to South America to the island nation of Corto-Maltese. after does does not exist in real life yeah after its government is overthrown by an anti-American regime and are tasked with destroying the nazi era laboratory i'm not even trying to pronounce that which holds a secretive experiment known as project starfish all right our team are heroes or whatever you want to call them they all team up and go for it but when they get there. I mean, they had their mission. I mean, they were all in prison.
Starting point is 00:15:16 We all know that. And it was like, you want to sit in around in prison or do you want to go do something for us? And they're like, well, fuck it. Let's go. So they all team of and they take off. But one team is led by Waller's subordinate Colonel Rick Flagg, who
Starting point is 00:15:34 almost entirely wiped out by the crew, by the Corto Maltese, military upon landing. All right, man. This one, this one, there was a shocker for me. Again,
Starting point is 00:15:46 I knew a lot of people were going to die. But I didn't think they were going to die in the first 15 minutes of the movie. I was like, damn. Yeah, because you got recognizable faces.
Starting point is 00:15:59 You got Nathan Phillyen. You got, um, the fuck is his name. Uh, the king of Staten Island. Pete Davidson. Pete Davidson.
Starting point is 00:16:10 and you got Michael Rooker and just all these people and it's just a fucking bloodbath that I mean I knew the movie was rated R James Gunn has done some rated R stuff but as soon as the
Starting point is 00:16:31 massacre started with the blood and guts and the headshots and the dismemberment I was in you know i think uh we're we're getting into a little bit of spoilers here but uh once uh p davison got it as uh what is he black guard yeah once he got it in the face i was like okay i i see what kind of movie this is um as far as uh the the two of us on east society well brian here of course he's a member as well but um the zisu is that the zioux is
Starting point is 00:17:10 not one for blood and guts and dismember it and everything. I'm the guy that loves all that stuff. He said, when that happened, I knew you were going to love it. Because I wasn't expecting much. I knew I was going to like it.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Yeah, mainly because John Cena was in it. Margo Raleigh, awesome, beautiful. She is Harley Quinn. I'm sure someone's going to come along at some point when she's just tired of being that. But she has right now, she's done three movies in with Harley Quinn. So hopefully get another one. They better give us.
Starting point is 00:17:48 I mean, I did like the Harley Quinn movie, but we need a proper birds of prey movie. But anyway. But yeah, man, once it just. And he got his face blown off. I was like, whoa. I mean, me and my son were both. We watched this as home. We didn't go to the theater
Starting point is 00:18:10 And we were in And my son, he didn't really know much about This he hasn't even seen the other suicide squad yet I told him when you get I said yeah when you get a chance watch it But don't Don't rush off and watch it Yes, there's no rush But after that whole team
Starting point is 00:18:33 Pretty much gets wiped out On the other was it was an other side of island the second team showed up yeah uh the first team was the diversion and then you got uh you got bloodsport peacemaker king shark polka dot man and rat catcher two showing up on the other side of island where there is not a soul in sight uh king shark um i remember when of course i remember king shark from the books But when I heard he was in it and I saw his picture, I was like, okay. I mean, we'll see what he does.
Starting point is 00:19:15 But that first teaser trailer and when they started showing stuff footage from the film and we see him, I was like, all right, I'm in. When I found out if Stallone was voicing him, I was all the way in. So I love Stallone. I mean, yeah, he hasn't done everything. That was awesome. But he's friends with James Gunn, too. Yeah, he got that check. he did it. It was a memorable character.
Starting point is 00:19:42 It was such a memorable. I don't have many of those what are those side show collectibles. The hot toys? Yeah. I'm getting the King Shark one. I love that character so much. I thought and then Stallone just doing the voice and just I don't know. I just every time, every scene he had, it just grew on me more and more.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Just the scene where he's talking about how he's going to get a disguise. and go with them and he's going to have a mustache that whole scene and uh the scene at the end uh near the end with the aquarium where he's just running around laughing and i'm just picturing in my mind stillone do running around laughing all super happy it's just i don't know it was just great all right i'm looking at the figure the the hot toys one awesome sculpt I mean, awesome, but for all you collectors out there,
Starting point is 00:20:39 I mean, hot toys, it's a pretty penny. It's not just... Flex pay. Flex pay. Yeah, it's not just a toy. As some people says, like my wife,
Starting point is 00:20:53 you just buy toys. These are collectibles. It's art. Yeah, it is. I mean, these guys, the guys that sculpt these things. I mean,
Starting point is 00:21:02 they really, really put their time into it. It looks awesome. Yeah, you've got to flex it. That's the only way. I couldn't drop it all. Even when I get, not master rep, side show. I bought my very first side show piece, which is coming. A shout out to my buddy, my homie, Jesse Hernandez, the Urban Aztec.
Starting point is 00:21:31 He designed this awesome Boba Fett. Nice. If you guys know, Jesse and you're familiar with his art, he designed his version of Boba Fett. And it'll be my very first sideshow piece. And I got to support my home. So the Ziso as well, I had sent him. I said, dude, you got to get this.
Starting point is 00:21:55 And he's like, I got it. So I think it's coming out later, I think next year, earlier next year. But it's ready to come. come but yeah dude I want this too I'm looking at it now but king shark I definitely want that that Batman and the suit from Batman v Superman the super suit or whatever I got that one yeah that was price it too put I wanted it yeah I got I got out of the the hot toys I got that one I got the black panther that lights up purple and then I got the I had I had to get mando.
Starting point is 00:22:36 I know we're off subject everyone, but I hope they make hot toys of those Marvel zombies from What If? Oh, they probably will. They, they, I know the pops are coming for those only because the Zsu, love them. But are you up to date on that show? I still got to watch that episode. That's been my favorite. It was a Doctor Strange, but now this new one just because of the horror aspect.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Yeah. that Dr. Strange just left me feeling just not good after. I felt hopeless. I was like, there's just nothing to look forward to anymore. Yeah, I was just like, damn,
Starting point is 00:23:16 but watch what if you guys ain't watching that yet? If you have Disney Plus, or it's out there, all of them are. But yeah, after the second crew showed up, I was in. I was like,
Starting point is 00:23:28 oh my God. And I knew these guys were the ones that were going to make it through the rest of the film. So I was like, all right, these guys are safe. Sina, of course, as a peacemaker, he was badass. I mean, Sina has done a lot of stuff. I know a lot of people don't care from them.
Starting point is 00:23:45 I know some of you wrestling fans don't like him in the ring. And he's done a lot of acting. I mean, he's done the Hallmark movie stuff. He's done the Marine. I love that film. I know a lot of people didn't like it. But the other things he's done, he stepped in the comedy world.
Starting point is 00:24:06 I think that's his aspect right there. I think he's funny when he does comedy. Everything I seen him in. And he was just awesome in this one. Yeah, I think that's his lane right there because the rock has his. And I think Sina, I mean, he definitely can do the action. But adding the comedic element to it, I think I think that's his lane. I mean, Sina was big in this.
Starting point is 00:24:32 He was like wrestling size. but when he wrestled at SummerSlam, he looked smaller, or was that just me? They looked like half the size at SummerSlam. Yeah, but he was, he was badass. When he was running around his tidy whitties, man, I was dying. That's just racist. See, I love you. Come on.
Starting point is 00:24:56 He's done, isn't he? They said he wrestled a dark match on Friday after SmackDown. was over. So I don't know. Well, do you get roughed up by Brock again? I didn't read who he wrestled, but you know, you know, most of the time nobody's ever really done. No, I mean, they eventually
Starting point is 00:25:20 come. We know. They're talking about Flair showing up at AEW now. That's the new rumor, so nobody's ever done. Oh, come on. Rick, we love you. You ain't got nothing to prove to us. Well, he's, I think, I think he's going to be what's his name's manager
Starting point is 00:25:37 his son-in-law on what are Andre? Yeah, whatever's name is now. But I mean, I just don't want to see him get roughed up. I felt bad for him his last match when Sean Michael super kicked him. I felt bad
Starting point is 00:25:58 then and that was a while ago. Who knows? We'll see. No one's ever done. When the checks in front of you, fuck it. I'll do it. But, um, but, um, I had watched this a while ago. When did Harley Quinn step into this? She showed up. She was, she was team, too.
Starting point is 00:26:16 She was team one. She was, uh, at, at that point, she was the only one that survived because she was with javelin trying to figure out because he was passing his javelin onto her and he died before he said what, what her mission was for it. And that's when the, the quarter multi. soldiers had caught her. Oh, that's right. And then after that, we find out Rick Flagg still alive and he's lost in the jungle.
Starting point is 00:26:44 And he gets caught up by some people. And then we go back to team two, which technically I guess would be team one because they're the main team. And, yeah, they're just trying to get their mission going because they got to go to this, I think it's called Yotenheim, the building that. uh project starfish is in and on the way there they get a new mission of having to go save uh rick flag and this whole situation was fucking hilarious um uh do you do remember the scene where they showed up and they just essentially just murdered everybody uh bloodsport and peacemaker yeah and then come to find out uh it was the the the rebels the good guys.
Starting point is 00:27:38 But this back and forth between Peacemaker and Bloodsport was hilarious. They were just going to kill for kill, and it was violent, and some of it was unnecessary. But I like to see where he shot the one guy, and the guy blew up, and Bloodsport was basically like, you know, nobody needs to show off. and Peacemaker says something like, you know, it's only showing off when it's dope as fuck. And Pled Sports kind of, he was like, shit,
Starting point is 00:28:13 that's true. So I think at the Peacemaker show is just going to be comedy and blood and guts and rated R, right? Yeah, I think James Gunn wrote it, so it's going to have his influence on it. Because he,
Starting point is 00:28:29 after they were done with this, he wrote, from what I understand, he wrote the story, if not during this, while, maybe when they were done with this, with this film. Yeah, I think he had the idea during, so. Because he, this is what Sina said. He goes, he approached me and said, hey, I got a continuing story for Peacemaker, if you want to do it. And Sino was like, all right, cool, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:29:00 And he said, next thing you know, he goes, we were filming it. I was like, good. So, and but Zina said it is done. And it's all filmed, uh, that probably putting it all together and adding the effects and everything. So pretty sure, like you said, man, we'll probably get it, uh, before this year's up. And we only got like a couple more months of this year. And shit this year went by fast.
Starting point is 00:29:24 I'm, I'm a, I'm a call November. That's what I'm a call. I'll go December just in case But if it does go December If it does if we'll have Peachmaker We'll have Cobra Kai season four We'll have the book of Boba Fett And something else
Starting point is 00:29:50 I can't feel Marvel-wise I can't remember Oh Hawkeye comes out of it Yeah. That comes out at the very end of November. So technically December. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:04 So I'm like, man, we're going to have a lot of good TV this holiday season. So, man. But Project Starfish. When right before the movie came out and everybody was saying, ah, the reviews were out for all the people they got to see it earlier. and everyone was loving it. I didn't, I don't trust the critics. I'm past that.
Starting point is 00:30:33 I listen more to the fans because the fans are the ones that, that read the books and grew up with these characters. So I was like, all right, I'm going to wait. I did watch it the night it dropped. No, not the night it dropped, not at midnight. We watched it the actual Friday. But I caught a glimpse of Staro. And I was like, hmm.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Maybe it's just something really quick. Maybe it's not. So I remember that character from the books. And I was, all right. I mean, it was what it was. I didn't know how they were going to do it. Movie form. But man, they did an amazing job with it.
Starting point is 00:31:21 But it was funny, though. I mean, it was my buddy of mine watched it. He goes, dude, what the hell is with the starfish? I said, it was something from the comics, man. Give him a break. I said, but did you like it? He goes, oh, I thought it was cool, but I was just like, what the hell? He just thought it was Patrick with a bunch of the little ones.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Starro played by one of two roles he did for the movie, Tycho Watiti. Yeah. He's like double dipping. He's in the Marvel universe now in the DC, EU or whatever they call. You got that Star Wars money, a movie coming too. Oh, yeah, man. You got money and left and right. He's even got the Fox money with the reservation talks.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Good for him. Get your money. You listen to our sports special. Get your money. Did you think, here's a question. Did you think that Harley Quinn got enough time to shine? I mean, we just recently just saw a movie last year with her, but what was that this year? Was that last year or this year?
Starting point is 00:32:37 I think that was last year. Okay. Did she get enough time to shine? I think so. I think we got a little bit more of her character, her relationship with the suicide squad. especially looked like she was very close to Boomerang and Rick Flagg. I like that. Kind of drove forward the story because, you know,
Starting point is 00:33:07 we didn't really get that as much in the first one because they're just all meeting each other for the first time. And then her whole scene with the president of the new president, the one that took over, that whole scene was hilarious. and her escape was badass. So, yeah, I think she got her just to. It didn't need to all be about her. There was so many great characters in this,
Starting point is 00:33:36 and I think they equally split the time with them. So, yeah, I think they did her justice in this one. I was waiting for, what's his name, to pop in. If he wasn't going to do a cameo at the end, Will Smith Dead shot Was that who you want? Yeah
Starting point is 00:33:59 Yeah that would have been cool But I heard he's just completely too busy Be in this movie Because originally from what I What I read Idris was going to be dead shot But then they changed it Because they want
Starting point is 00:34:16 They want to leave it open for Will to come back So they gave him They gave Idris the bloodsport character which I think is fine because I would love to see a Suicide Squad movie with both of them in it. Yeah, I would love me. I just, I was an awesome actor. I like him and just about everything. Speaking of him, I just started watching The Wire.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Rest in peace, Michael K. Williams. Yeah, I'm way late to that party, everyone. Yeah, way late. That's said and done, right? Yeah. Okay. Well, I had three seasons? Is that all it got?
Starting point is 00:34:57 I think it's, is it? I look it up now. I think it might be a little bit longer than that. Yeah, I'm almost done with the first season. And I would be done if I could watch it like I want to because I'm just, oh, man, it's elegant. That's another show. But, um, all right.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Once they figured out the project Starfish deal, because StarO was from out of space. And the U.S. government is the one that secretly bound and brought him down, whatever, and they were doing experiments with everything. On him and Corro Maltese. I was with these stories in these movies, They take bits and pieces and make a movie. They can't give us the full stories like in the comic books. The story in the books, I mean, they're goofy. They were made a long time ago.
Starting point is 00:36:08 So they obviously can't give us those. I mean, even in the Marvel universe, the ground is set for them, but what we have so far, I mean, I know a lot of people, I mean, even in these DC films, I mean, the stories are there, but they just pick and take what they want from each of these stories and they throw them in. So once the team finally understood what their mission was and what they were, what they had to do, see, this is where I forgot everything until the whole battle at the end of the film. I'm just reading stuff things, but I don't really remember.
Starting point is 00:36:54 much on what was going on before the final big battle at the end of the film with Staro. Yeah, essentially they get the they get the one dude, the thinker, they kidnap him because they need him to get in it, get inside Yotenheim. When they get in there, the plan is to destroy the building. And when they do that, I guess they stumble upon some information. that basically they're doing a cover-up job for their own country and Rick Flagg wants to expose them, but then Peacemaker has a separate mission that Waller gave to him was to make sure none of the information gets out. And that's when the building collapses. And we get that fight between peacemaker and flag.
Starting point is 00:37:51 all right um jumping to start really quick when all those other little things were falling off of him it kind of gave me that uh cloverfield vibe if you guys have seen that film yeah when all those little things started falling off that when those started happening I was like oh hell no so I just I don't know
Starting point is 00:38:16 things like that I mean even like things now in real life I mean microscopic thing Let's say big things. I've seen many of these nature shows where they show little things on bigger things. Like spiders, for instance. I hate spiders, period. I see that these big spiders got a billion little spiders on them.
Starting point is 00:38:39 I'm like, oh, fuck no. And that's the kind of thing. Why are you watching that? You don't like spiders. I just, it's rare that I watch those things. But I mean, I got that creepiness vibe. When little things started falling off with you, I was like, oh, my God, what's happening? Yeah, and it was crazy.
Starting point is 00:38:59 They were just basically when they attached to you, you're dead. And your body's just an extension of sorrow. I mean, like, all hell broke loose when all that was happening. And, I mean, I just, I did, did you see that home or in the theater? I'm not going to the theater right now. I was sitting there watching it Me and my son I was like shit man we should have went and saw this
Starting point is 00:39:26 in IMAX I know it's still in the theater at some places It's still hanging in there With all these movies But Yeah man That shit creeped me out
Starting point is 00:39:38 But I was all in On what was going on Because it was Other than the death And destruction That was going on He still had that comedy that was going on in it as well.
Starting point is 00:39:54 So I just thought it was fucking hilarious on what everything was happening because once when a star was escaped and just started to destroy everything. For those you that haven't seen this and you're listening to this, thank you. But you think of like a starfish,
Starting point is 00:40:12 a giant starfish with big eye. How it looked in the movie is how it looked in the books. That was one thing I really loved about that thing. I don't really remember being as violent. I mean, in the books, but it might go against the comic code, but I know what they can do in these movies now. Of course, it was rated art.
Starting point is 00:40:42 I loved what was happening. And, I mean, it's amazing to see these stories that I, grew up in my much younger age and then see it now. I mean, I always say this before. I always say that when we talk about Star Wars and comic book movies, you guys are lucky you're getting all this. Mm-hmm. I mean, hopefully we can get a ton, ton more before my days are over with.
Starting point is 00:41:08 But, man, this newer generation, man, you guys don't know how lucky you are on how much comic book movies you get. Because I didn't get it. I didn't get my first comic movie until the late 70s when Superman came out. That was my very first comic book movie. Superman and Batman. And then you pretty much didn't really get anything from Marvel. No.
Starting point is 00:41:35 I mean, you had some Marvel shows from the 70s like Incredible Hulk and the Amazing Spider-Man, but you didn't like today. Yeah, now what they're getting today, they're, you guys, younger gentlemen. are getting everything as much as you complain about not they didn't do this they didn't do that it's like when we were younger they didn't do none of it yeah i mean i do bitch and complain about these movies and everything oh man this didn't happen this da da da of course because i know the stories in the books and i of course i'm jealous for for you young guys because you're getting all this but i'm glad i'm here to enjoy it i'm glad i'm here to enjoy it with uh with my boys and my
Starting point is 00:42:19 My daughter as well as my older grandson, he's starting to watch. His thing is Spider-Man right now. So he hasn't really sat down to watch a full Spider-Man movie. He could care less when he's not. But when Spider-Man's not on the screen, he doesn't care what's going on. But once he's on the screens, he'll sit there and watch it. Is he climbing stuff? You're doing that.
Starting point is 00:42:44 He wants the web shooters and all that. And the web shooters today aren't the web shooters that I grew up with when it was just like a little section, sectional dart with a string on it. Now it's that silly string or whatever the hell you call it. Yes, because after it's all gone, you got to go buy some more. Yeah. And you can't just use that string over and over and over again. Man, we know what you guys are doing. That's how you're breaking us all
Starting point is 00:43:16 But as far as Characters, I thought everybody in it Was awesome every time When they were on the ones that made it through pretty much the whole movie But everyone in the beginning of the film That we saw like And it was everyone It was people it was actors we knew
Starting point is 00:43:38 So it was like, oh cool But then you're like Well, that character's dead So that's the was it the weasel the rat or whatever the hell it was um
Starting point is 00:43:50 we thought it drowned because when in the beginning when it fell in the water and then it was it the weasel is that what it was? Yeah yeah it was phone weasel they said he couldn't swim and he just drowned
Starting point is 00:44:05 but uh was it during the credit scene when he reappeared yeah it was like the the first right before the credits he appeared he's still alive so all right good we get him back um James gun I know he took some heat for
Starting point is 00:44:25 some tweets he did a long time ago and everyone said he was his career was over with um I don't condone on what he said in those tweets and he said he was joking but I when you're famous don't joke like that. Yeah, but I think those tweets were way before he was anywhere close to being famous.
Starting point is 00:44:57 But they, they do. I mean, for some reason, if we became famous, I'm sure that everyone will search all these old shows and listen to some crazy shit I said. I'm telling you right now,
Starting point is 00:45:08 I'll never be able to be famous. Looking at my, back, my history. Yeah, there's some choice things. out on the internet that I've said. So,
Starting point is 00:45:19 nothing racial before you guys come at me with that. But, I mean, I was glad that he could still do it. He was down for a little bit, but he definitely came back with this film. I assume he just
Starting point is 00:45:38 apologized to Marvel, because he's supposed to go back and do moral for them. I think they apologize to him. Did they? Yeah. Was it after this or before? Before, I think, no, after he got the deal to do the Suicide Squad movie, I think that's when they came. Because a lot of the cast and other people were just like, this is, Guardians is his story.
Starting point is 00:46:07 So he needs to finish it. And I know Batista was not feeling it, which I heard after the third one he's done. Um, I Batesi's a good actor. He was good in the ring. I thought not everything he'd done was awesome, but I thought, uh,
Starting point is 00:46:30 he's good as Drax. I don't know why he didn't do the what if episode, but, um, I guess you can just find some next big buff dude. I don't know, but with this whole multiverse, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:46:47 You know him and, um, Jason Momoa. I guess they were joking about wanting to do a buddy cop movie. And I guess it's happening now off of them joking on Twitter about it. I watch it. I like both of them. I think they can both do comedy.
Starting point is 00:47:10 As far as comedy, Jason Memorial, I saw him in Saturday Live. I thought he was funny. I mean, it was a little overboard, but I still thought it was funny. Batista, I mean, he's done a few comedies. I thought he was good. He can be funny. He can be serious. He can be the big giant action shoot-em-up guy.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I mean, I think he's one of those guys that can do it all. A lot of people don't think that, but check out his role in Blade Runner, was it, 2049? That one. I mean, he's hardly in it, but he did a good performance, serious performance. But, I mean, my favorite movie His is Bushwick, because I love that movie. But he's a good actor. I think he can do it.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Jason Mamoa, he's got a ton of movies. The last thing I saw him that was good was Sweet Girl. Did you watch that one? No, it's on the docket. Yeah, check that one out. All right. But this one, I mean, this film was good. I thought, who directed the first one?
Starting point is 00:48:11 David Air. David. Yeah. Okay, cool. So they give us that cut, cool. but I thought what James Gunn did with this one was awesome was it a breath of fresh air yeah I thought so I thought he did an amazing job I had an amazing cast
Starting point is 00:48:28 the effects were awesome the comedy was there the blood and the guts was all over in this film and I thought the climax with was star and everything was amazing I mean I really loved what was happening in this a lot of some people who just come back he never went anyway where. So I thought he did a good job. I mean, the whole Twitter thing, I mean, people are going to find whatever.
Starting point is 00:48:55 But obviously he's coming back for Guardians volume three. So I don't know when that is. I mean, they laid out the whole plan on what's coming. But I don't know. I think they're letting all these new characters shine. I know we got the Eternals next. Then we got Spider-Man coming. But as far as D.C., the only thing I know that's coming,
Starting point is 00:49:26 and I know it's done is the Batman. I don't know what this whole the thing is now. But I'm looking forward to it. I know a lot of people are thinking that Edward can't do it. He's going to shock everybody. What the fuck's his name? All I know is Edward from Twilight. You guys know who we're talking about to him.
Starting point is 00:49:56 Robert Pattinson. Is what the internet's calling him. I think that movie looks cool. I'm going to give it a shot. I don't like, if that's how the Riddler's going to look, then I might be a little grippy about it. But who knows? I like the actor that's playing him.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Oh, he's a good actor, but I don't like what they've shown as far as the Riddler. If you guys know that. Talking about appearance? Yeah. I don't think that's his final appearance. I hope not. So. I thought Jim Carrey did an awesome job as a Riddler.
Starting point is 00:50:35 I don't care what anyone says. I thought Batman Forever was my favorite one out of all those. And watch that documentary. Val, did you watch that? No. I think it came out at a time when I didn't feel like
Starting point is 00:50:50 watching anything sad. Yeah, you got to be in the mood to watch that, but it's good. I mean, Val is still with us. It's just cancer sucks. Fuck cancer.
Starting point is 00:51:03 I hate it. Yeah. But he's still doing what he's doing. It was an amazing documentary, if you guys haven't seen it. It's streaming on Prime. It's a Prime original. So I thought it was awesome. And he does talk about his, his Batman stuff. He was like, eh, that's why he didn't do the next one because he just didn't have a good time filming it. So it was hard to move in that suit. It was hard to breathe in it. And he goes, it was like, just my mouth. That's all you saw. Well, I see your Batman. What do you expect? But he, he still, that was a part of my career.
Starting point is 00:51:42 It was just a hard thing to do. And that's why he didn't want to do Batman and Robin. That I didn't know because I was kind of like, man, I mean, George Clooney is a good actor. Don't get me wrong, but Batman and Robin was terrible. George Clooney still apologizing for that movie. That check cleared. Yes, it did. He never robbed with that.
Starting point is 00:52:10 But yeah. I think you're going to give us further adventures of the Suicide Squad right now Peacemaker. Yeah, I think so. I think critically this was went pretty good and I think
Starting point is 00:52:24 it was well received by the fans. Of course, money-wise, I don't know how the streaming thing works on the streaming sites, but I think we'll get another one. Because it says here the budget was 188, 184.
Starting point is 00:52:40 million in a boxed office 62.7 million. Didn't make back what it spent, but these are different times that we're living in right now. If there wasn't a pandemic, it probably would have maybe doubled its money. Because no one would have went and seen it
Starting point is 00:52:59 in the theater regardless. Yeah, like I said, I don't know how they count it when it comes to streaming numbers because the thing we're going to talk about on the next horror returns is Halloween kills is going to Peacock
Starting point is 00:53:15 and I don't know how that equates to the streaming numbers how that equates to box office what it equals so you know we'll see I think after
Starting point is 00:53:29 after a while when these big movies start coming out I think we'll get a better understanding how the performance works as far as streaming because yeah things are starting to get pushed back again because of cases climbing again. Yeah. Them saying it's worse than when it first started.
Starting point is 00:53:51 It's worse up here than it was last year. I know cases are starting to climb in the town that I'm living in. We got all the way down to the single digits. Now it's back up almost to 200. I think was like 190 something in the last. some I checked, but, um, yeah, we're having, uh, medical officials fly up here to help assist because everybody's overworked up here in the hospitals. Yeah, it was, um, it was like 600 and something when, when it first, when it first hit.
Starting point is 00:54:31 Because it went wild here in a little small little one horse town that I live in. I can't imagine the big cities or where Brian's at up in a lot. I'm going to brave the theater for Marvel movies. I'm going to brave the theater for the Batman. Yeah, I still got to go see Shang-Chi. Ooh, you got to because we got to talk about it. Yeah, we'll talk about it. And I'd listen to the League of Geeks.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I'm so happy to hear that superhero. I was a little worried. But once I heard Hero, Hero, Hero. And I was like, okay. And then when I was hearing outside of the Avenger movies, top five Marvel movie, I was like, okay, I got to brave the theater. Maybe not my top five, but it's up there with the MCU movies. And this, the Suicide Squad, is up there with my, with my DC.
Starting point is 00:55:34 If you're just going to talk about DC extended universe, is is is nolan's Batman trilogy in that or is that just it's own i don't count that that's the nolan verse uh as far as the did extended dc e u i think we got the two best movies this year with the snider cut and this yeah snider cut is number one in in my book out of all these movies i like i've seen them all i own them all um not did i like all of them know as much as everyone shits on Greenlander and it was all right. Suicide squad. The first one was the garbage.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Aquaman, I enjoyed it. I like Jason no more. Um, what else? One of Wonder Woman was good. Second one was garbage. Garbage. I was so disappointed in that one.
Starting point is 00:56:31 That, that for me is one of the biggest turnarounds ever from what you got with a, with a first movie and then the sequel. Yeah. I don't understand what happened there. I hated the Superman, the Man of Steel. I love Man of Steel. I didn't like it.
Starting point is 00:56:54 I didn't like it when I first. I was excited for it because I love Superman. Again, that was the very first comic book movie I saw in the movie theater. So when Man of Steel came out, I was juiced. I met Superman, Henry Cavill, at Comic-Con. This was before they even announced he with Superman. I met him. He was a nice guy.
Starting point is 00:57:14 So I was in. I was all in. The movie came out and I was like, what is this? So I'm like, all right. Then Batman v. Superman, Donna Justice came out.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Cool. I love Batman. He's my favorite DC character. What is this? Suicide squad came out. Fuck, garbage. Wonder Woman came out. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Awesome. Awesome. What is this? Awesome. I loved it. And Justice League came out. And I was, okay, it was what it was. I enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:57:47 Aquaman. Okay, James Juan, giving us a comic book movie. Cool. Shazam. Awesome movie. I know a lot of people didn't like it. I thought it was hell of good. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Yeah. Was I, um, uh, ready for Chuck to be, uh, Captain Marvel, a.k.a. Shazam. Well, what's his name? Chuck is all I see. Um, Zachary Leva.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Yeah, him. He blew me away. I thought he was awesome. I thought everybody in it was awesome. Birds of Prey. It had its moments. It was good.
Starting point is 00:58:23 It was better than suicide squad. It should have just been a Harley Quinn movie. Yes. With cameos from Huntress and all of them. And then lead that into a bird, the proper Birds of Prey movie. That's what it should have been. Birds of Prey movie.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Ray, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, she's got my heart. You see that new movie she's on Netflix? Oh, I saw half of it. I didn't see it all, but what I saw was awesome. Did you watch the old thing? Not done with it either. Okay, yeah, I saw half of it.
Starting point is 00:58:56 We'll talk about that once. Yeah, the kids woke up, so I had to stop it. I love her. You can do no wrong in my eyes. She can do, just keep doing horror and action movies. Yeah, but so, but, I thought you got robbed in birds of prey. All right.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Then we got Wonder Woman 1984. Garbage. Yeah. I don't. Theo, I don't know what movie he watched. Exactly. I was like,
Starting point is 00:59:25 was it because Mando was in it? I don't know. He didn't do nothing. He was just there. Things spin around in the air. That's about it. And then that was. We started in 2013, went all the way to 2020 with Wonder Woman.
Starting point is 00:59:45 And then 2021, we got March. We got Zach Snyder's Justice League. Amazing movie. I loved it. That one, that Snyder cut made me appreciate Man is Steel and Donna Justice. Because I was like, ah, I see what he was trying to do here. Let me go back and watch those. And I thought it was awesome.
Starting point is 01:00:08 I loved the first one. woman just flat out. I thought it was awesome. Shout out to Eugene Brave Rock. So I was like, after Donna Justice says, you know what? Let me go back and watch those other movies. I like him.
Starting point is 01:00:25 I thought they made a little more sense now. I saw what he was trying to do. I sucked on what happened to Zach Snyder and why he had to stop. Maybe that's what he was going to give us. But when what's his name took over, that one.
Starting point is 01:00:43 Josh Whedon, it just, what he did was cool. I liked it. I didn't hate it. But after the Zach Snyder's Justice League, I was like, oh my God.
Starting point is 01:00:54 That movie was awesome. Flash forward to August. We got the Suicide Squad, James Gunn. Amazing story. He helped write it, directed it. He was one of the screenwriters.
Starting point is 01:01:07 Awesome film. So I loved it. As far as, uh, one, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. We got 11 movies in this DCEU. Justice League being number one.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Then I would go, Donna Justice Man is still then the suicide squad, and then Wonder Woman, and then Shazam, and then, yeah, for the rest. But I thought, I think with these last two DC films, I think they're starting to, that they can't catch up with Marvel it's too late you guys are 20 something movies deep
Starting point is 01:01:49 and you guys are barely half just take your time with what you're going to give us next I think they should just do individual stories and stop trying to have a connected universe
Starting point is 01:02:04 but not you know not try to do the Marvel thing where it's just building a whole story for over you know, a decade. Just like how Wonder Woman, the first Wonder Woman movie was its own story. Aquaman
Starting point is 01:02:19 was its own story, but we know that all these characters are in the same universe. So, like kind of like how they do with the DC animated movies, how they just came out with the one Batman, the
Starting point is 01:02:35 long Halloween, you know. Do stories like that from the comics as movies. movies, live action movies. I think they have a little bit more with animated stuff. I mean, the stuff that Dave, DC has done has been awesome. Marvel, not all of it is good. I mean, same thing with DC, not everything is good,
Starting point is 01:02:59 but majority of the DC animated stuff is awesome on what they've done. Marvel to me is hit and miss. So, I mean, I just love what they can do. Because when you do animated, of course, you can just draw it, be hand-drawn or computer, but you could still do it. I know with these big budget films, it goes into the billions of dollars to put them out. But now with what's going on in the world,
Starting point is 01:03:31 I think starting from Wonder Woman, 84 is when they started putting them straight on on HBO Max. I think that was one of the movies to kick it off. So they were released in the theater, but not everyone's going to the theater to see these to these films. We mentioned Halloween earlier, Halloween Kills. It's going to be on Peacock,
Starting point is 01:04:00 but I'm going to go see it in the theater still, but I'm going to come and watch it again on Peacock. But I'm not going to go opening night when everyone's in there. Maybe I'll go the next Friday morning. when no one's in there but I don't know I'm still gonna I'm still gonna go to this theater and see it I'm not quite sure when the Batman is coming
Starting point is 01:04:20 do you are you I know next year I think summer next year March 4th is what it says here we've only seen a little bit of it and I like what you've seen so far
Starting point is 01:04:39 that the next DC fandom, Fandome, or however you say it. I know we're getting a new trailer for that, a trailer for Aquaman and Shazam.
Starting point is 01:04:51 Oh, what do you think of Aquaman looks? Those pictures are released? I like the look of Patrick Wilson because he looks like he's been locked up and probably not happy.
Starting point is 01:05:04 So I'd like to see more out of him. Don't know if I like the the new costume for Aquaman the black one? Yeah, I just, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:21 I like it. It looks better than the green and gold or whatever that is. I kind of like that. It is an updated, updated version of a classic. I like that you looked in a series squad, that's a Suisse Squad, Justice League, the first one.
Starting point is 01:05:41 I'm just wondering how that movie's going to do with all the people hating, what's their name? She's in it, right? Amanda Hurd. Yeah. Yeah. I don't condone what happened. I don't know. I mean, it was good to see her pop up in the Justice League for a second.
Starting point is 01:06:05 But I don't know. All right. I'm looking at these two suits together. We should be wrapped up everyone. But the Aquaman ones. He looks like his characters, how he's going to look in Dune, which is coming. I can't wait for that. So I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:26 I don't know the story. I don't know where they're going with this yet. But the green and gold. Yeah, that's the classic outfit. But I kind of like this. this gray or this black and brown I guess you would say these
Starting point is 01:06:45 I don't know if these are like picture pictures they look kind of like drawings but who knows maybe maybe they are I think it looks cool it's a side by side comparison with his his gold and green that this
Starting point is 01:07:02 I mean even his his classic colors it looks this actually looks better than what he wore in the last film. I don't know. We'll see once the movie comes out. Not sure exactly when that one is coming out. Yes, Dolph Lundgren's coming back.
Starting point is 01:07:25 So cool. I hope he does just a little bit more in this. But I don't know. Aquaman 2 is just what they're calling it so far. I wasn't really sold on Jason Mamoa being Aquaman, but... It's called Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Well, I'm going to watch it, so yeah. Before we start random raving about something else, man,
Starting point is 01:07:53 you got anything else for we get out of here? Next action returns. Shuffling the schedule again. some of the other ones we'll get to them when we get to them wanted to do some some older stuff we neither haven't seen in a while
Starting point is 01:08:12 or haven't seen it all and shift the fuck on my list go sorry added here a minute ago there it is 1989's renegade starring Lou Diamond Philip and Kiefer
Starting point is 01:08:38 Southernland I have not seen that in since 1989 no I think I think the last summer saw I bought it on DVD
Starting point is 01:08:53 that one good times video they put it out and all right stars I put in renegade and that TV show
Starting point is 01:09:10 came up with the um God damn it, what the hell is his name? Lorenzo Llamas. Yeah, that show. It was cool. I mean, I like Renegades.
Starting point is 01:09:29 We'll definitely get into it when we talk about it. But, yeah, I have not seen this movie since the 90s. So I'm all in. Can't remember what Tribe Lou was supposed to be in this one. But my friend's dad is in it. And once we talk about that, I'll let you guys know who he is. Oh, cool. I don't even remember what it was about.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Yeah, when this comes out, hopefully, each society, something new will be out.
